《A Path Of Rage》 Prologue Ch.1 The Last Day A half nakedmanstood drenched in sweat, in the middle of a crampedroomfilled from top to bottom withweights, themansquattedand the bar on his shoulder bentunderthe strain ofweightsthey carried there size¡¯s being that of truck tires rubber and all, as themanbegan toraiseonce morehis jaw was clenched tight,whilehis face distorted,whilehiseyesnarrowed, his whole body shook as he struggled toraise,morefinally with a full minute passing he made it back up, heinhaledand lowered himselfonce more, hiseyesnarrowedevenmorewhilefire and vigor burned itself deep within hiseyes, the only audible noises in theroomcame from him and the floor that squeakedunderstress, he grunted with eachsquatwill breathing sharpening, timing his breaths so whenfallinghe wouldinhaleandexhaleuponfalling. ¡°2996¡± Thiswasa sharp and quickshoutthemansaid as hecommencedanothersquat, over the next 4minutesanother4shoutswhere expelled from hismouth. ¡°3000¡± Upon completing his set of squats, the man threw the weights off his shoulder.They hit the floor cashing everything to shake with a slight tremor, the man stood still breathing heavily, his height was not tall nor short as he stood around 5 foot 8.While his muscles were not overly big, they were extremely well defined, it could be said that there was not an ounce of fat on him, he continued to breath though in a more controlled manner, he¡¯s crest glisten as it followed the lifting and falling of his breathing, the man¡¯s hair was a jet black while his hair was a raggy and sweaty mess, his pale skin glistened in the fluorescent light, his well-defined jawline stood out causing his normal looking face to look more attractive, all in all this man looked to be in his early 20s, but to people''s surprise this man was not in his early 20s but in fact in his early 30s, this man''s name was Jacob. The ragged breathing had begun to settle down to a manageable level, so Jacob walked over to a table and dragged out a chair to sit on, this table sat in the conner of the room, embed in the pillars of steel, as Jacob sat on a wooden chair with a drink in his hand, he moved the bottle to his lips before downing it, the cold water cold his desert like mouth, as well as cooling his body, the drink disappeared at a visible rate in less than 10 seconds it was half gone, Jacob wanted more but has no choice but to separate from the beverage, as soon as his lips were free his gasped for air while regaining his breath once more he thought to himself. ¡°Damn,I''m gettingnowwhereIhavenotmade any improvements in over 4months,notapound, push up or squatmore.¡± Jacobs oncepainedface had now become visibly angry,he¡¯shandclenched theedgeof thetableveins beingtoprotruded from hisarm, whilehe¡¯sfingersslowlybegan tosinkintothetable,theysankdeeperanddeeper, as thesoundof crunching boards rang out, aftersinking2inchesintothetableheawokefrom hisangerand retracted hishand, what was leftwasa noticeable notch in thetablethatfollowedhisfingers,itlooked as thoughithad beencutby asaw. ¡°Shit,Igoing tohavetofillthat in,I''lldoitlater,¡± Jacobsattherethoughhewas no longerangrythatdon''t meanhewasnotticked,hetookbreathswhilehedrankthecoldbeverage, ashedranktherewasa slightpainin hischestbut hiswholebodywas inpainso how couldhetake noticeofit, over thenextcouple ofminutesthatpaingrewworseandworseuntilhefinallyrealizedthattherewassomethingwrongheclenched hischesthisfingerdug intohisskinevengripping his rib cage. After much effort on the two men parts, they were able to drag him onto the stretcher and out the house, the girls stood outside the house in a daze as they watch the ambulance depart. For 10minutestheyfoughttobringthismanbacktolife, buttheywere unable tobringhisheartbeat back,hehadlosttoo muchblood, had internalbleeding, broken bones, andtherewere evensignsthathehad aheartattack,therewas nothingtheycoulddoatthismomentforthisguyhewasdead. Prologue Ch.3 The Endless Void
It was extremely cold, it could be described almost as absolute zero, feeling the cold Jacob tried to move but no matter how hard he tried he could not move or open his eyes, will he tried to move he realised he''s whole body hurt when he tried, and when he stopped moving it still hurt but it was bearable when he did not attempt to move. ¡°Did I die? No, I can¡¯t be dead, if I am then how can I still think and feel?¡± He asked himself this question, even though he knew he would get no answer, he had nothing to do in this empty void, so he waited, it was boring to just to wait so he used his imagination to create world inside his head, and mental game such as division, addition, subtraction and multiplication inside, when he first started it was unbelievably difficult, he¡¯s head was so foggy that he could not focus on what he was doing and end up forgetting the numbers, problem was the the pain that ravaged him, made him unable to focus easily, he would always become lost in the mathematics he was doing in his head getting lost in decimal places, but there was nothing else he could do he could only clench his teeth and try and resist being distracted. ¡°......¡± ¡°It¡¯s been a year and 3 months how long am I going to be here? Am I in a coma I wonder?¡± Jacob signed as he played with a dandelion, he stood on a cliff face, the waves crashing into the rocks hundreds of feet below, the smell of the sea was strong almost over bearing, but for Jacob it was better than darkness, he enjoyed the warmths of the sun hitting his skin, this did not warm his body but it did trick him into feeling warm, there was a nice breeze blowing his hair away from his face, as he watched the endless sunset. ¡°Are you afraid to die?¡± He said this to another man this young man was also Jacob but a different him, Jacob called this other him Jax, this person was a creation of Jacobs he could be called an illusion, but this illusion had its own personality that was being powered by Jacobs brain, actually everything here was an illusion created by Jacob, he did this to escape the endless darkness. He first created this illusion when he was unable to make anymore progress in his mental games, so he decided to try and create a simulation inside his brain, the first version of this illusion was just a endless blue void filled with clouds and one sun overhead this simulations got boring quickly, so he moved on to simulation two, but he was overstretching his mental limits when he created that world, it could be described as even more realistic than this simulation, had to the bang and all of existence, before it went off, his felt as would any, everything was including the timer was, be that his crashed. So instead of going big he decided to add on slowly to this illusion and moved on to simulation 3 than 4 to 5, 6 so on and so on, at this point in time he was on simulation 867 even though it looked amazing it was relatively simple, and not a very big space this saved his thinking ability, it sizes was not more than 10 ft wide, 10 ft long, and 15 ft tall, even though he was creating this simulations, doing these mental challenges, he¡¯s thinking ability was still limited, still being blocked by and restricted by the fog, the only change to come is he became more adept at controlling his focus. ¡°No I¡¯m not afraid to die cause what''s the point of being afraid of something that is inevitable, it would be as a teenager was worried about getting a pimple, they can¡¯t so why worry.¡± Jax replied solemnly. Jacob thought for a second before shaking his head. ¡°Jax it¡¯s not about worrying about it or not it''s a natural instinct to fear death wouldn''t matter how you hide it as it approaches you will fear it and try to avoid it.¡± ¡°I do not get this logic, why must you stop something that can not be stopped?¡± Jax looked visually confused his face almost stupor. ¡°Natural instinct it''s an act of the brain, not something many can stop easily, it''s like when your about to be hit your body will try to save it self in anyway possible.¡± Jax still looked confused, but his confusion morphed into a blank expression his hand slowly rose as he pointed towards the sky, Jacob turned around his face that was once calm and collected looked at the sky, his expression being one a confusion.If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Not knowing what was happening he immediately canceled all his mental task except for counting, and like that Jacob was brought back to the everlasting darkness where he started, with nothing occupation him he felt pain once more and the freezing cold of the void. Being to afraid to start any of the simulation again he simply waited, the only thing occupying his time was the counting and mental challenges. 1 year 11 months he still floated in this darkness not daring to do anything, today was different than any other for the first time in almost 2 years he felts warmth it was for no more than 3 seconds but he felts it, over the next couple of day the warmth lasted a longer amount of time 5 second, 9 seconds, 10 minute, 30 minutes, 3 hours and so on, this warmth was no to warm just being exactly the same as his body temperature, everyday he looked forward to experiencing the warmth. It had been 30 days since he started to feel the warmth, it was up to 22 hours that he felt it almost a full day he was greatly excited for the next couple of days, he could get permanent warmth getting it for 24 hours, finally one the 2nd year of being in this darkness the warmth never disappeared. 2 years 2 months he began to notice that both the mental fog and the pain was disappearing, he was greatly relieved by this realization he did not want to spend all eternity with those aliments, even though almost a year had passed since the darkness invaded his symilation he did not dare to try it again, he was deathly afraid of what would come if he maybe did his consciousness would disappear for every if the simulation was completely swallowed will he was there, or maybe all the relife he had been experiencing would just disappear in if he opened up a simulation any way it went it was a risk he was not willing to take. 2 years 5 months, all the pain from my body has faded, and the mental fog is completely gone it is so much easier to think at then it has ever been, thanks to the combination of mental exercises and his brain¡¯s ability being limited, it was as if an athlete was forced to run his regular times with an increase of a hundred pounds on his body when he takes off the weights after a year or more, there will be a great improvement in his speed. Comparing my brain¡¯s thinking ability to before the accident to my current speed I am 63% faster than I was in the past, and compared to when I got here and to my current ability I am 92% faster, if he could shake in shock he would be. ¡°Wait!¡± Jacobs mind turned blank with even greater shock, he was able to move or to be more precise he could control the muscles in his body again and was even able to do simple things like move his fingers, this was the almost the most exciting thing he could have found was he going to be able to move again, his mouth twitched a bit until it started to move very slowly, after a full minute they ceased there movements showing that he had formed a grin. 2 years 8 months Jacob had practiced using his body every day 24 hours a day, at first when he gained control over his body it was a struggle to move it, after a lot of practice he could move his body but extremely slowly it took more than an hour to raise his hands from his waist to above his head, the only thing he could do was practice everyday moving his body, every day it would become a little easier to control his body, he also became a little faster everyday, at this point in time it took him less than 15 seconds to raise his hands. ¡°This is great I almost have everything I could ever want.¡± ¡°The only thing I could wish for is the leave this darkness.¡± He began thinking about doing simulations against, but as soon as those thoughts entered his mind he was distracted by a new feeling, around him he felt like there were to things one was a liquid, it liquid was quite warm being the same temperature as him, he pushed his hands out there was a type of resistance from the liquid it don''t slow him down at all, but it told him that this liquid was thick, will his hand was pushing forward it suddenly touched a wall, the wall was smooth yet squishy. ¡°This is very strange how long has this wall been here?¡± He was there in a stupor for not releasing that there was a wall for the next week he felt this wall trying to figure out what it was, during this time balls started to appear in the darkness at first he thought they they were a simulation that he had turned on by accident, there were blue and red balls the blue balls passed through him and so did the red balls, though sometimes a blue ball would not pass through him, when this happened he would feel cool, and more relaxed, when a red one did not pass through he felt the same pain he felt back when he first came here, when it first happened he was scared that the pain would never go away, but in 30 seconds the pain relieved it self, the two balls would pass through each other but sometimes would crash into one another, and create a small purple ball this happened barely 47 times a day, he got lucky once the ball came towards him, he clenched his fist hoping to absorb it to see its effects, as it crashed into his skin it slowly seeped into his pores, as it did this he felt energized, as if he had enough strength to do ten thousand squats and more,. ¡°It¡¯s been two weeks since he started seeing these balls, I have found a new ball it was a golden one, during these two weeks I had found that I could influence the path of some of the balls, I avoided the red balls but practiced with the blues one, also the red balls seem to have decreased in number greatly after I absorbed the first one.¡± Jacob tried his best to summon the gold matter. Prologue Ch.4 A Guards Day It was a hot summer day the sun was beaming down on a town in the middle of nowhere, it was unbearable to stay outside for more than a hour without any shade, this town was surrounded by a circular wall made from stone, it towered over the city it stood 20 feet tall, will it''s length had been lost the following years after it was built, the only thing know was that every 50 feet there stood a tower, each tower was connected to each other with a stretch of wall, each tower carried 3 guards watching the land outside the wall, there would be two guards watching at all times, the 3rd guard would gather food and water for the two guards and switch out with them so they could do whatever they need, but only one could go at a time, the guards would stand watch from dawn to dusk, rain or shine. Section 68 on a tower stood a man in black armor, the joints where made from leather instead of iron, allowing for more mobility, the man''s body was completely covered by this armor, every guard had to wear this armor, there was no choice in the matter. The sun beamed down on this armored man, he stood 6 foot 1 like an unmoving iron statue with a spear in hand, the only human elements you could see were his black eyes, they hide behind the slots of his helmet, they acted like black holes absorbing all light that came close to them, if you dared to look at them directly would feel as though you soul was being drawn in, these black dots watch the green landscape closely, not leaving any corner untouched by his gaze. While inspecting the field, there was a sudden white flash that popped out from the forest, this anomaly of white immediately caught his attention, he eyed the flash until it settled down what he found was a white rabbit it stood more than 2,000 feet away, the man waited for the rabbit to settle down its movements some more, when it had done so the man had begun to shift his body, he moved into a sideways stance, he sent his right leg farther right, whiles his left hand raised towards the sky, during this motion he brought his right hand to his shoulder, the spears blade gleamed in the sunlight. The man began to pivot all his weight onto the right leg, his left one rose and curled up to his chest, he stood like his for a second before stomping down, and pushing all his body forward, while his hand lagged behind him a full arm length, his right leg began to raise as his body past it, his hand snapped forwards like a hungry viper attacking, as his hand extended forward fully the spear left his hand, as it left you could hear the sounds of the air ripping apart, the spear was flying unstoppably through the sky. An extremely large white rabbit sat in an open field, as it minded its own business when it suddenly felt very uncomfortable where it sat, when it had the urge to move and run back into the forest, it sat stiff in the field unable to move as it felt a cold pair of eyes staring into its soul holding him down with shackles, it took several seconds before it was able to escape this chains, and begin to scurry off the uncomfortable feeling was unbearable causing the rabbit to rush faster, as it was about to enter the forest a loud thud sounds rang out, the once energetic rabbit was now still and unmoving as it was pinned to the ground by a spear protruding from its skull. ¡°Nice shot Dimian!¡± Another guard stood 6 feet 8 in black armor exclaimed, his voice was gruff and worn but his voice was filled with surprise. ¡°It was nothing. I just need to get Chen and me dinner for tonight.¡± Dimian said his voice was light yet a cold but full of life, being equivalent to a fierce breeze on a quiet autumn morning chilling to the bone. ¡°That wife of yours sure is lucky to have married you, being such a hard working and good looking man, plus for you to be so young to get such a job as this it is a miracle in the making i do say, you have a bright future compared to an old man like me.¡± The older guard nodded as he talked. ¡°Oldman Wang I am not that young anymore, my wife may be lucky to have meet me but so am I, and how can you say that Oldman you are the strongest personal in our division, you could have done what I had done without breaking a sweat, you could probably even keep it alive.¡± Dimian said as his black eye showed a bit of a gleam in them. ¡°Young man if you are 19 if that is not young than I am older than your great grandfather, you flatter me Dimian, any way we should get you rabbit before a pack of wolves eat your rabbit.¡± Oldman Wang had a bit of a chuckle from Dimian''s comments, starting to recompose himself. ¡°Ying.¡±The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement. Time flew bay going from noon to dusk, they had both had lunch breaks long ago but there it had been long ago and there stomachs were empty and wanted food, each section had its own locker room, all day shift guards where down here cleaning and oiling there armor and weapons, the night shift had long gone to their positions, as Dimian was putting up his armor into his locker, a man with a bushy gray beard spotted with black waked up to Dimian, he patted Dimian shoulder. ¡°Dimian, I would love to invite you out for a drink tonight but as we both know you have to provide dinner for your wife so next time your free will get some drinks¡± The old man toward over Dimian, his eyes were gray and sharp, yet they exhibited a friendly aura, having bushy eyebrows, sunken cheeks, long gray hair, pasty white skin with some wrinkles on his face, his shoulder where broad like a lion, and his muscles protruding out of his skin like stone from a cliff. ¡°Of course Oldman Wang, next time let''s get some drinks, but we will have to be careful how much we drink we both have wifes we have to be making sound judgments out there.¡± Dimian face filled with a friendly grin. Wang laughed out loud, patting Dimian shoulder it felt like a hammer was betting down on him, he winced in pain but don''t move. ¡°To true my friend¡± Wang said as he tried to gain his composure, with a cough he was relaxed. ¡°I will not hold you any longer from you wife, I''ll be off myself now.¡± Both shared their goodbye before they separated, after going to grab both his rabbit and 10 silver coins half had gone to taxes, Dimian departed for the day, as he walked through the stone streets the sun was still setting, the contrast between the shadows, gold, red and orange was interesting but it did not catch his eyes anymore after seeing them many times before. For the next 10 minute, he had to repeat this procedure, to try and get past these women, he had grown used to it, it happened so much now that it was easier than ever to avoid any girl that made a move on him, but why would he even look at those girls when he had his beautiful wife, that was waiting faithfully for him at home, during the walk home he bought a bag of potato for 40 copper with the money he had just received today, this left him with 9 silver an 60 copper, a rabbit and the newly added bag of potatoes. Dimian was lost in dreamland imagining lewd thoughts of his wife, as he drew closer to his home it grew darker and darker, more than half of the shops and stalls, had long since closed or where cleaning up, he walked for another 5 minutes he had arrived at a small house it had only three rooms, taking a deep breath he began to walk towards the front door. Taking out his key, to unlock the door walking into the quiet house, he closed and locked the door behind him, and began to take another deep breath. ¡°Honey I¡¯m home.¡± Dimian announced his eyes shone with brightness, his mouth curved into a grin he could not hide his happiness at all and why would he. Prologue Ch.5 Love Filled Night The exclamation rang through the house, with that Dimian began taking off his leather boots, before he could lean over, footsteps were approaching speedily each step echoing on the wooden floors, a blurred figure appeared from the right of the hallway, it rushed towards Dimian like thunder it could not be stopped. Dimian saw this figure approaching, so he abandoned his attempts of removing his boots and pushed his hands out bracing himself. ¡°Dimian!¡± The figure ex calmed, with hints of excitement, its voice was elegant and smooth as a flowing stream, with that the figure head buried itself into Dimian chest, its arms wrapped around his waist. This figures name was Chen and she was 18 years old, she was much shorter than Dimian being 5 foot 6, looking down on her all that could be seen was her long silk like black hair that ran down her back going past her butt, laying right above her knees, her head that was buried in his chest then shifted to look up at Dimian. Dimian, who was looking down on Chen looked into her pure blue eyes they exhibit a feeling of innocents, small dimples appeared on her face as she smiled, her face was like a sea of stars, so much beauty that you could not catch it all, she wore a tight sleeveless black dress, the skirt of the dress was short and lose not going past her knees, the dress showed off her well proportioned body, her boobs and butt being the perfects sizes for her body, while her silk like skin reflected the surrounding light back. Chen hung there in his arms, they enjoyed each other for almost 10 minutes before Dimian and Chen separated from each breathing hard. Dimian placed Chen down slowly. She eyed him longingly even when she was on the ground again, bending over Dimian grabbed the rabbit and the bag of potatoes and brought them up to his chest. ¡°I got us dinner.¡± Dimian grinned as held the skinned and headless rabbit by its legs. Chen face was visibly disappointed, but it disappeared as she looked at the rabbit, it is bigger than most rabbit, she smiled again taking the potatoes into her hands. ¡°Come let''s start making dinner.¡± Her sweet and seductive voice rang out, Dimian walked behind her as they made their way to the end of the hallway, Dimian would glance at her, they took left into a small room this room was illuminated by a fireplace and the moonlight that came in through the windows, the fireplace held a small cauldron filled with boiling water, in the middle of the room there was one square table with two chairs on each side, will on the opposite side of the fireplace there was a table that went the whole length of the wall, with cabinets underneath it, and the floor was made from stone. As they began to walk across it the cold stone caused both of them to shiver as they walked into the room. Chen took the bag to the table at the back of the room and placed the potatoes onto the table, opening the cupboards she took out two daggers placing one next to the potato''s, and handing the other one to Dimian, being one step behind her he had already placed the rabbit onto the table, he took hold of the dagger and started to separate the meat from the bone. ¡°How was your day dear?¡± Chen asked curiosity written all over her face, Dimian looked at his wife.This book was originally published on Royal Road. He matched into the bedroom without stopping. He stood in front a queen sized bed, and lightly tossed Chen onto the bed, her butt bounced on the bed she faced him as she landed, her face was almost glowing red as she stared at a bulge. Dimian arrived at his locker, while breathing hard he quickly equipped himself, someone walked up to him wearing black armor, with three red stripes on both shoulder this man was his superior, this superior wore no helmet as he eyes Dimian coldly, but Damian continued to put on his gear as if nothing was happening. The superior was bald, his face had that of a pissed off bull, his wrinklers wear deep and greatly visible in the torch light, he stood a foot taller than Dimian but looked down on him like an insect, his name was Wei. ¡°Guard Dimian!¡± Shouted Wei, Dimian continued to equip his equipment. ¡°Yes Lieutenant Wei¡± Dimian asked his voice clear. ¡°Do you have any idea how late you are?¡± ¡°Yes, sir I am not here by sun rise, making my post vacant which will cause strain on guards when a enemy attack, there is no excuse for my absence¡± As he finished his sentence, he turned towards Wei armor fully equipped and spear in hand. Wei was greatly impressed by both Dimian actions and words. ¡°Very impressive Dimian, not only do you realize the consequences of not being here, you even finished putting on your armor in half the time of most guards.¡± ¡°Even though your are able to equip your armor in half the time of most guards that is no reason to be late, seeing as you have realize your mistake I hope it will not happen again, I will leave you with a warning and a decrease in your pay for this week.¡± Wei turned around and began to walk away, Dimian bowed at him until Wei left the locker room. ¡°Crap I¡¯m going to lose half of my pay for the next week.¡± With that he walked to his post, Wang stood on the tower looking over the land, with Ying next to him, Dimian walked up behind Ying excusing him from the post, as he took his place Wang looked at Dimian. ¡°Dimian I knew you would be having fun yesterday but who would imagine it would be for so long to make you late.¡± Wang said while he laughed. ¡°I had no idea it would take so long eather, but I don¡¯t regret what happened.¡± As his laughing settled, Wang look back over the landscape. ¡°If there is one thing, I have learned through my life, that is to never regret anything.¡± Dimian was dazed for a moment before staring to the landscape that was being illuminated by the rising sun. ¡°Those words I will take to heart and someday teach it to my children someday¡± Dimian words made Wangs heart grow softer for this man. ¡°If that is the case it looks as though my legacy will be carried on.¡± With that they grew silent once more as they eyed the landscape and the main road. Prologue Ch.6 A Normal Day It was another normal day, people entered and left the city, the heat beat down on the guards, the wind blew gently, while the sun rose and set, Dimian had left work with 5 silver, he signed as he missed the missing pay but knowing he could do nothing about it, he stopped dwelling in the past and continued forward. On the way home he had bought a bag of rice to have with some smoked rabbit he made yesterday, the bag of rice cost him one silver, as he walked through the front door and announced he was home, no one was there to great him, after taking off his boots Dimian walked through the house, when he arrived in the kitchen he saw nothing, so he went to their bedroom to find Chen was meditating, seeing that she was training he left the room and headed back to the kitchen and began to make dinner. The rice was starting to cool off when his wife walked through the kitchen door, as soon a she saw him she ran towards him, Dimian opened his arms to embrace her, they hugged for a full minute before settling down to eat, Chen took a bit of the rice then gasped. ¡°Dimian this rice is really good did you buy some expensive rice?¡± Her face was full of surprise, as she took another to savoir it¡¯s flavor. ¡°Yes this rice is a little more expensive.¡± Dimian said with a tint of pride in his voice, Chen eyed Dimian suspiciously. ¡°What¡¯s the special occasion?¡± ¡°I just felt like getting us some good rice.¡± Dimian looked at her, his eyes full of innocents while Chen¡¯s eyed him coldly and they grew. even more suspicious. ¡°Did your pay get cut?¡± Dimian body shock lightly, cold sweat was running back his back, knowing he could no longer hide what happened the truth spilled out. ¡°My pay has been decreased by half for a week.¡± Silence hit the room like a running bull, it stood there for a couple of seconds, not even the fire dared to crackle, Che broke the freezing silence with a sign. ¡°It¡¯s no big surprising seeing what we did last night.¡° A grin was plastered on her face.
