《Immortal God of the Blade》 Chapter 1: Immortal Sword Manual Within the Realm of Sanctity, far above the 10 heavens, exists 12 universes of Rune Sanctuaries and 36 Minor Rune Temples. Each of these Sanctuaries and Temples, holds countless runes each having the power of a different aspect or element. Humans of the mortal plane use these runes to cultivate, using the power of the 12 Sanctuaries, humans draw in the natural energies of the world into their mind and body. The higher level of Sanctuary one would get their Rune from, the stronger their ability to gather in the natural energies. These people were called Martial Patrons. There are also the Magic Advocates. These people use both the power of the 12 Sanctuaries and 36 Temples, to cultivate their mind and soul. These people focus less attention on the body and more on the soul. There are even legends of some Magic Cultivators being able to live for a few minutes without their Flesh and bones. Of course, their bodies are very weak compared to those Martial Cultivators. Some geniuses would be able to obtain the power of a Rune every big realm. There are even legends of those who can get the power of a Minor Rune every small realm. Everyone who had the talent to become a Martial Patrons or Magic Advocates are bound to be peerless and influential figures in the mortal world.
South of the Wen province, in the kingdom of Bon, was a large clan. The Wey Clan. Before he was struck by sunlight, Argan was already having a bad day Argan was sleeping under an apple tree, a book was open on his lap. "Argan. Who gave you the right to sleep?" A boy towered over Argan. Having short red hair and deep blue eyes, his age nearing 16. "You still haven''t done mylaundry!", Two other young men spectated behind the red haired boy as he made his threats. Argan said nothing as he furrowed his brows at the young man, his gaze piercing, his attention only focused on the man over him. "Hmph, don''t look at me with those eyes." With this line one of the men behind the red haired boy started to snicker, and threw a bundle of clothes in Argan''s direction. "You should learn your place as someone who can''t cultivate. Now, get to work or I''ll beat you." "I''ll remember this, Jackson," Argan spoke resolutely. "What the hell is you remembering this gonna do?", Jackson then stepped foward and brought his foot up in a swift motion to strike Argan''s upper chest, launching Argan a few feet back, as he tumbled next to the clothes. "Ha! You can''t cultivate while I can. No matter what, I''ll always be better than you! Now, Get to work!" Argan Glared at them as he struggled back up, his anger rising higher than the heavens. He picked up the clothes, and limped off as the three young men''s laughs filled the space that he left. ''Luckily, Jackson didnt use much strength with that kick,'' Argan thought as he walked into a dense forest with lush green trees, and the sweet songs of the birds, followed a faint path towards a river. Out here, Argan felt a sense of respite, away from all his troubles, his anger still seething through his bones. When he got to the river at the end of the path, he scrutinized his appearance. His long flowing silver hair, and white irises stared back at him in deadpan. His heart was cold, full of anger. He had no one, no one to care for him in this world. His parents had passed when he was still young. All he had was a memoir-an amulet. The circular amulet had a small white gem in the middle of two dragons. He never could understand the meaning behind it, but he still held it close to his heart. He clutched the locket in his fist, as he lamented in his heart. This content has been misappropriated from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere. ''Why, why can''t I cultivate?! This feeling, the feeling of being weak is unbearbale!'' he thought, his heart filled with rage, and confusion. He relased his anger with a loud yell, making himself feel a little better. Unwillingly, he picked up the first batch of clothing. As he put the clothes into the washbasin, all his head was filled with was rage. he felt a cold energy seeping into his body. He kept washing and scrubbing, shirt by shirt. Eventually, the cold energy reached his hands. As soon as it did, the shirt in his hands had froze. Argan was shocked. ''what...what is this?'' He thought to himself, as he looked at his hands in awe. His first reaction was to point it towards a rock, to see if that did anything, but nothing happened. He was confused. ''Why would this power come out of nowhere?'' he thought. Instinctively, he reached for the amulet around his neck. As soon as he touched it, a birght light emerged from the gem. As it did, it released a terrifying pressure, pushing Argan down to a kneel. Argan stared at the light, full of awe. The light kept on getting brighter and brighter until Argan fainted from the might. As soon as he did, the light instantly went away.
Argan awoke, seeing nothing but white. "Where am I?" He said quietly. He wasn''t expecting an answer but got one anyway. "You, are within your consciousness." A loud, cold voice said. A large silhouette appeared, slowly revealing a man with white hair and irises, much like Argan. Argan stared at the figure, not saying anything, with a confused look. "It seems you''ve finally awakened your bloodline. Good. At such a young age, as well." Argan soon came to a realization. "That cold energy. Was that my power?" "Exactly. It can only be awakened when one is filled with desire, willing to sacrifice anything. Think of it as a test. You wouldn''t have ''awakened'' otherwise." the man said. "As a reward, take this manual. You''ve probably wondered, why you can''t cultivate. That''s because you have a special constitution." "What do you mean?" Argan asked, but soon answered his own question. "I heard that there are special divine constitutions where there is a specific path of cultivation that works only for that body. Is that what you mean?" "Precisely. It seems you aren''t dumb either. Now, take this manual. You won''t be able to come back here until you''ve reached the third level." The man said as he handed out a manual. Argan grabbed it. As soon as he did, then the silhouette slowly disappeared. After, Argan fell unconscious again.
Argan awoke, in the same spot he was in before, except he had the manual in his hands. The shirt he had frozen had thawed. Inside his consciousness, time had continued on, but in the outside world, only a second had passed. He was in a good mood. Unknowingly he put the manual down and continued washing the clothes. 30 minutes had passed, and he finished his task. He grabbed the bundle of clothes, and hung them up on a branch to dry. After he had done that, he sat down near a rock and opened the manual. "''Immortal Sword Manual''" Argan muttered. ''The point of this manual is to reach the pinnacle of sword arts. To look down upon all others in arrogance. To become... immortal.'' He read. ''First Level: Body Tempering. This tempers the body. The marrow, the organs, and the flesh with undergo a tempering, making them stronger than an averge human. First, breathe 3 breaths in, and two breaths out within five seconds. Do this, and once you feel a cold energy enter your body, direct it into your bones, into your marrow. This will bring excrutiating pain. Do this for the marrow, organs ,and flesh.'' Thats all that was written. Argen flipped the pages only to find them all blank except for that first one. He was confused. ''Why would there only be one page?'' He thought. Filled with confusion, he still followed the instructions, going onto the first steps of cultivation. Chapter 2: Technique Tower Argan had tried to start cultivating. ''Breathe 3 in, breathe 2 out.'' He thought. an hour had passed, but nothing had happened. "Maybe...im ust not cut out to cultivate." he said, depressed. He looked towards the clothes that were drying, and saw that they were fully dry. He took them off the branch, and started to walk back towards the clan. He got back to the tree he was stting at earlier, only to find the book he was reading trampled on and ruined. Full of anger, he picked it up and put it under his arm. Argan had started to walk towaards an extravagant building. This was jacksons residence. Some servants were talking as Argan walked to the door of the building. "Isn''t that the trash of the clan?" One servant had said. "Yea, what a shame. No talent to cultivate and no parents either. He only has his Grandfather, but he''s in the Martial Patron Trainee Camp." Another replied. Argan ignored them. He was used to this ridicule and mockery. He just continued to enter the building. He gave the clothes to another servant, who look at him in disgust Argan walked out of the building, and went towards edge of the clan. He neared the wall that was surrounding the clan. There was a small forest near the wall, with lots of shrubbery and the occansional wild deer or boar. As head neared this forest, he saw smoke rising from the forest. He looked in shock as he sprinted towards the location. When he got there, he was filled with anger. There was a small shack, or what used to be one, burnt down. He seethed with anger, his eyes releasing a chold glare. ''This...this is going to far.'' He was furious. All because he couldn''t cultivate, they tretated him like this. they burnt down his house, forced him to do servans work, and called him trash anywhere he went. Subconsciously, Argan had started to cultivate. Breathing 3 breaths in, and 2 breaths out. A cold energy circulating through his body and meridians. The energy started to seep into his bones, and started to fill his marrow. Argan was frozen on the spot, full of anger, unaware of the energy. As soon as it went through his bones, he felt an unbearble pain. He instantly sat down, and manually started to cultivate. The energy kept on coming and filled every bone in his body. He clenched his teeth, feeling as if every bone had jus been ripped apart. He tried his hardest no to faint, and bit down on his tongue. ''I can''t faint now. These are the first steps to cultivation. If I stop,I never know when I''ll get this chance again.'' Argan thought, his willpower and mindset making a breakthrough. This pain had continued for hours on end. At first it was just the marrow, but soon he felt as if every bone in his body had broken. But soo after, the pain had become a lot bearable. He felt a refreshing energy circulate through his body. Soon, the pain had completely left his body. Confused, he inspected his body, only to find a black substance layered over his body. He jumped up and ran into the forest, full of joy. Soon, he got to a small spring, with a few animals drinking from it. He jumped in, nt caring for anthing else. Surprisingy, none of the animals ran off. They merely looked up and saw Argan floating in the water, and went back to drinking. Argan had a expression of happiness. ''I had reached the 2nd layer of Body Strengthining! Finally!'' He thought. There were six layers in Body Strengthining. The first one being Marrow Cleansing, the second Bone Tempering, the third Muscle Cleansing, fourth Muscle Tempering, the fifth Flesh Cleansing and finally, the sixth being Flesh Tempering. To reach the 2nd level in just 3 hours makes Argan nothing short of a monster. It would usually take 2 years for the average person to reach this level. Even the prodigy of the clan took 3 months. And yet Argan took a mere 3 hours. Argan had thought back as to why he was able to cutivate, but before he could find any clues,he remembered what happened to his little hut. The more he thought of it, the more angry he got. "Whoever did that, i will make you pay!" He swore. He got out of the spring, and walked back to his hut. Wen he got there, he picked up his manual and his book. But when he touched the ''Immortal Sword Manual'' it started to glow. Argan opened the book, and noticed there was more writing on the next few pages. "Eyes of Heaven and Hell?" He read.

The book read. Argan was surprised. ''This also comes with techniques?'' He thought. Usually, cultivation manuals never come with techniques. Thats because the manuals are for te correct path towards the desired cltivation path, and techniques would distract from the original purpose, leading to energies being deviated from the correct circulation path. "But first I need to find out who did this." Argan was angry. He could handle the mockery, he could handle the beatings. But this went too far. He needed to find the suspect. "But how could i get revenge without the proper strength?" He said. "Technique rules over everything. It seems I need to make a trip to the Technique Tower. Although these techniques are strong, what if something went wrong? I can''t take that risk" He said, as he left the forest.
It was about 3 in the afternoon. Other members of the clan were walking about. Some noticed Argan and looked at him in disdain. Some just outright ignored him. Argan wasn''t paying attention to this, as he thought of what type of technique he should go for. ''Should I go for something relating to the sword? No no. This manual, if it can give techniques, then I would get a formidable sword technique eventually.'' As Argan was thinking, he bumped into a large bear. "Hey, watch where you''re going, small- Oh! If it isn''t our little trash Argan Gray. Maybe you didn''t learn your lesson last time I beat you. Didn''t I say to stay at least 100 kilometers away from me?" The bear spoke as he turned around. Surprisingly, it wasn''t a bear, but a man! "Oh, but the size the clan takes up is only 25 kilometers! Well, it seems you''re going to have to leave the clan then if you want to actually keep your life." The man chuckled. Argan glared at the man, but eventually just walked past him as he got lost in thought again. "Hey, you little bastard, don''t ignore me!" the large bear-like man said, as he grabbed Argans shoulder, preparing a punch. But, suddenlyhe felt a pain in his abdomen. He flew back crashing into a wall. Argan glared at the bear-like mans body, then walked away. Everyone stared at Argan in disbelief. "That...that was Argan Trash right?" One young man asked. "Yeah...Yeah that was. He just beat up Arthur, and Arthur was in the Third level of Body Strengthining, Muscle Cleansing." Another replied "Theres no way Argan beat Arthur with one punch! He can''t even cultivate!" A young woman said. This news soon spread like wildfire, everyone learning about it.
Argan continued on his way towards the Technique Tower, unaware of the commontion he cause. Still lost in thought, he neared a courtyard, with a large tower inside. He entered the courtyard and made his way towards the entrance of the Tower. There he saw an old man inside of a booth. "Clan Member Token," the old man said. Argan took out a coin from his pocket and gave it to the old man. The old man took the token and a light shone from his hand. "You have 30 minutes. Hurry up." The old man said. Argan took back the token and saw a timer on it. He entered the Technique Tower and saw bookcases full of books. The Technique Tower was exactly what it sounded like. A Tower made for housing the techniques of the clan. The clan has thousands of years of its existence, so naturally, it has a large collection of techniques. Each Level corresponded to the level of Body Strengthening. The first being for those at Marrow Cleansing, the Second for those at Bone Tempering, etcetera. Argan went straight to the second level and looked at the title of the books. "''First of the Hidden Dragon'' ''Legs of the Crouching Tiger'' ''Arms forged in the Phlegethon''" Argan muttered. These were techniques from the second level. Argan kept looking for the right technique. Soon, 25 minutes had passed. He still hadn''t found a suitable technique. Soon, he came to the last bookshelf. On this bookshelf, there was one technique. It was a dilapidated book, with no title. Dust added another layer to the book, signifying it hadn''t been touched in years. Argan picked it up and opened it.
Peerless Fist of speed
Pursue Extreme Speed of the fist with this technique. By the time your opponent is able to react, they will already be defeated.
Cultivation Path- Level 1 Train the arms by tearing down the muscle with physical training. Once you are able to hit the fastest training dummy, you can advance to the next level.
"Interesting," Argan whispered to himself. He checked his token and saw he had two minutes left. He exited the tower and left the courtyard. As Argan exited he saw a large crowd, surrounding the two men. One was the bear-like man, Arthur. The other was a young man with red, short hair. Jackson. "Oh if it isn''t our little trash, Argan Gray. I heard you beat up my friend here, Arthur." Jackson said as Arthur looked down with shame. "I guess my little ''lesson'' wasn''t enough. A shame really. I wouldn''t have bothered you if you just did what I asked a little faster." Argan looked at Jackson as he said this, not speaking. He glared at him with an ice cold look, full of anger. "So you were the one behind that," Argan said. "Well, don''t look so smug. I''ll wipe that smirk off your face. " "Oh? And how will you accomplish that?" Jackson asked, smiling evilly. "With the duel I challenge you to. I, Argan Gray, Challenge you Jackson Wey to a duel in 3 months. Do you dare accept?" Argan said aloud. Chapter 3: Training "Oh? And how will you accomplish that?" Jackson asked, smiling evilly. "With the duel I challenge you to. I, Argan Gray, Challenge you, Jackson Wey, to a duel in 3 months. Do you dare accept?" Argan said aloud. The crowd was silent. Everyone stared at him in disbelief. Then, there was a chuckle. "Haha, why would I not dare? Just because you can beat Arthur means nothing. Don''t regret your decision now." Jackson said as he started to walk away. "Remember, 3 months from now, you''ll get your ass beat. Haha." He laughed as he left towards his house. "Hmph," Argan walked away soon after, everyone looking at him in mockery and with disdain.
Argan got back to his rubble of a house. A few deer were sniffing around, looking for food. As he approached, the deer ran. He looked at the rubble, still angry, but soon calmed himself. He then took out the manual from the Technique Tower. "The manual says to be able to hit the fastest training dummy, but that''s so vague," Argan said. He then started to punch the air, to get a feel for the required speed. ''No, no. Too slow,'' He thought. Then, he got an idea. He put his arms down and tried focusing on that cold energy from before. Once he sensed it, he tried to circulate it. He used all of his willpower and strength, but to no avail. Argan exhaled loudly. ''I wonder how I can cultivate this technique.'' Argan thought to himself. He then started to meditate. ''What could possibly be the correct path.'' Time passed as Agan thought of possible ways to practice. After about 10 minutes, something happened inside of his consciousness. A figure had appeared, displaying a set of punching techniques. Argan energy. White and cold, almost identical to the energy inside of his body. This energy was moving through a set path. As time went on, the figures speed increased until it reached a speed where argan couldn''t even see the fist. After one more punch, Argan abruptly awoke. "Aha!" Argan exclaimed. Then, he focused on that energy inside of him once again. Once he sensed it, he tried to bring it along the path he saw on the figure. This time was a success. As the energy reached his fist, he punched out. This time, he felt an incredible strength behind it, and it felt a little faster than usual. "So that''s the secret behind this technique..." Argan whispered to himself.
Time passed, and Argan continued working on this technique. Meanwhile, in Jackson''s residence, Jackson was talking to a middle-aged man, who looked a little similar to him. "Jackson, there''s something off with that kid, Argan." The middle-aged man said. "No need to worry, uncle. He merely has the strength of a Body Tempering Level 2. I of the 6th level. There''s no threat." Jackson said.Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on Royal Road. "No, you need to take this a little more seriously. Remember his strength this morning? There is no way he was able to climb up to Body Tempering Level 2 so soon. Who knows how much he''ll improve in three months." Jacksons uncle said. As he said this, Jackson looked at him, with a solemn expression. "This is why you need to take this seriously. I want you to reach Body Tempering Level 7 by the time the day of the fight comes." "Yes, Uncle. I will not disappoint." Jackson Replied. "Oh, and take these. They will speed up your progress." Jackson''s uncle handed him a bottle. As soon as Jackson laid his eyes on it, they flashed with joy. "Thank you, uncle. I will make sure to destroy that kid once the day comes." Jackson bowed and left the room. As soon as Jackson left, Jackson''s uncle walked towards the window. "There must be some secret to his sudden advancement. I must get my hands on it. That way my son can advance even farther in strength." He said as he gazed towards the outskirts of the clan.
85 days had passed, and Jackson had reached the 6th level Body Tempering, Flesh Tempering. This news had spread like wildfire across the clan. Even Argan had heard of it, while he was on his way to return the manual of [Peerless Fist of Speed] As he heard the news, he felt kind of pressured. during his period of training, he never gave up on his cultivation. In these 85 days, 60 of which were spent on cultivation, while the other 25 were spent on the technique. He had reached the third level, and also the maximum level someone of the Body Tempering Stage cultivator could learn. This allowed him to reach an incredible speed and strength, and the ability to do a feint in order to trick the opponent. He also reached 5th level Body Tempering, Flesh Cleansing, giving him ridiculous strength. There were 5 days left until the battle between Jackson and Argan. Everyone was talking about it. Comments like ''Argan trash is going to die,'' and ''He bit off more than he can chew, that idiot,'' were said by almost everyone. No one thought Argan would win. There were some who even set up betting stands, of course, no one bet on Argan winning. Everyone believed Argan did not have the strength to fight Jackson. As Argan was walking towards his little hut, he was planning on his next course of action. ''Should I learn how to use a sword or something? The manual would not be called the [Immortal Sword Manual] for nothing. Maybe I can access the next pages,'' he thought to himself. As soon as he reached his hut, he opened up the manual. This time, there was 1 more page he could read.
Dagger Gods'' Technique
Use this technique, to wield and control the dagger, at an unparalleled level. Strike fear into your foes, and slice down the mightiest of gods. See god, slay god. See demon, Slay demon.
As soon as Argan read this, he was once again dragged into his consciousness. There, he saw the figure from when he was trying to comprehend [Peerles Fist of Speed] again. This time, the figure spoke, repeating exactly what the book said. After, it started to perform a set of techniques with a dagger. A slice upwards, a horizontal slash, a pierce. They seemed simple, but Argan felt weird seeing these techniques. The figure repeated these techniques. As Argan focused he could see a slight amount of energy flowing through the body of the figure and through the dagger. But instead of the circulation being a large river, it was more like a thin wire, that could be broken at any moment. This energy went throughout the entire body, and the Dagger seemed to have channels for this energy. This meant that Argan could only copy the movements of the physical body. It was much too difficult for him to control the energy this well. "It seems i have to make do with these movements." Argan said. He grabbed a stick off the ground, and started to copy the movements. 5 days had passed, with Argan practicing those movements and improving his cultivation. The day of the duel, had come. Chapter 4: The duel It was early in the morning, but there were still people up and running around. Everyone was excited about this duel between Jackson and Argan. Tons of people were rushing towards the arena, which was situated in the middle of the clan grounds. It was a large platform, surrounded in a circle by seats, that rose up high. It looked very much like a colosseum. The seats were nearly full, except for a booth large enough for three. This is where the judges sat. Everyone was talking about who would win. Outside the entrance, there were even betting booths. "Who will win this duel between our genius young master Jackson or the trash who can finally cultivate Argan? Come bet, and win a fortune!" Someone who set up a betting booth was yelling, trying to attract whoever. A lot of people soon crowded the booth and started placing bets "I bet 100 spirit stones that Jackson will win!" "I bet 15 that argan will win!" "50 on Jackson" Many others were shouting like this, as they placed their bets. After a little while, everyone has placed their bets and were either seated in one of the seats or standing around the arena, all of them chattering and talking about the fight. the bets were 50 to 1. The 50 representing that Jackson will win. Meanwhile, inside the tunnel leading to the arena, there was a room, full of weapons. All of which were wooden. There were halberds, swords, sabers, spears, glaives. You name it, and it is in this room. Argan was in there looking around for a weapon. "Here it is," Argan mumbled, as he took a wooden dagger off of a rack. As he got ready to depart, there was a man, standing near the exit towards the arena. "Remember. If we find that you tampered with the weapon in any way, you will be put in the clan prison for 6 months," the man said, as he reached out his hand. Argan put the dagger in the man''s hand, and the man started to inspect it. An energy came out from his hand and coursed through the weapon. The man soon handed it back to Argan, and said, "Good luck. You''ll need it." Argan paid no attention to these words, as he grabbed the dagger and exited the room. As he was left the room and into the tunnel, someone yelled. "Look! Trash is coming out!" Right when Argan got to the stage everyone started laughing and ridiculing him. "I thought we told the servants to take out the trash? It seems they forgot some! Hahaha" Another person had yelled, making the people around him laugh. Argan ignored these comments, as he stood on the stage, inspecting the dagger. This was his first time actually fighting, and he was a little nervous. Inside the opposite room, where Jackson was supposed to come out, Jackson was sitting on a bench, talking to his uncle. "Jackson, I know you will win, but I still feel like something is off about that kid. Be careful." Jackson''s uncle said. "Yes, Uncle," Jackson replied. "I won''t even give him the chance to retaliate." "Good. That''s how it should be. Here take this," Jackson''s uncle said and took out a wooden blade. "This is the wooden saber I used to win all my fights as a child. Use it wisely." Jackson grabbed the saber and felt it was a little heavier than the usual wooden saber. He paid no mind to it and thanked his uncle. He stood up and walked towards the exit to the arena with his uncle. As they reached the man who checks weapons, the man said, "I need to check your weapon." "I had already checked it, there is nothing wrong." Jackson''s uncle said. "But it''s clan rule-" The man said, "You''re saying I don''t have the authority to check a wooden blade? That I am simply too incompetent for this menial task?" Jackson''s uncle interrupted, as he glared at the man. "No, no sir! I did not mean that. Please, go right ahead." The man said, nervously. Jackson chuckled and left the room. Right as he did, his uncle said something. "Oh! Jackson, try to scratch near his eyes. Don''t touch them, but try to confuse him." He said. "It is very good in mock battles like these." Jackson''s eyes sparkled as he thought over what his uncle said. "Thank you for your teachings," Jackson said as he bowed. He then left the tunnel. As he exited there was a louder commotion than when Argan walked out. Everyone started clapping and cheering. "Jackson I love you!" One girl yelled. "Go on! Defeat this trash! I want to see him suffer!" One boy had yelled. As Argan saw Jackson walk out, a cold light flashed in his eyes. Jackson walked up to the stage. "Hmph. The day is finally here. The day I get you beat you like the filth you are. Let this beating be a lesson. To learn your place in this world as a piece of garbage." Jackson said with a sneer. Argan ignored him, and he kept on inspecting his dagger, doing simple wrist movements while he waited for the referees. If you come across this story on Amazon, it''s taken without permission from the author. Report it. Jackson looked in Argan''s hands and his mouth curled up into a smile. "Hahaha! You think you''re going to be able to beat me with that measly little thing? Maybe you should just forfeit now, to save me the trouble. I have better things to do you know," Jackson said. As he said that, 2 old men and Jacksons uncle walked up into the 3-person booth. "Look, it''s Elder Jin! I heard he has reached Martial Patron Level 9, the peak of Martial Patron!" One person in the crowd said. "Is that Elder Baine? I heard he reached the peak of Magic Advocate not too long ago! That''s crazy!" Another exclaimed. "OH! Its Jackson''s uncle! Elder Inmah! He just broke through to the 8th level of Martial Patron!" Said one girl from the crowd. "Here are the rules! One! No crippling the opponent. We are all family, whether or not we have the same surname. Two! Anyone from the audience must not throw anything onto the stage or give any help to one of the fighters. Lastly! Other than the wooden weapon acquired from the room before, no other weapons are allowed. Anyone caught breaking these rules will be put into the clan prison for 1 week to 3 months, depending on the severity of the situation." The old man in the middle, Elder Baine said. The old man on the right, Elder Jin, then spoke up, "This fight will continue on until either of the fighters are unable to move, or until one forfeits. Are both fighters ready to begin?" He looked at Argan and Jackson. "Yes," Jackson replied. Argan had nodded, showing his compliance. "Alright, the let the fight...begin!" As soon as Elder Jin said that, Jackson and Argan had rushed towards each other. As soon as Jackson got in range, he swung his sword horizontally, causing Argan to duck under it. Argan kicked out with his leg and hit Jacksons left shin, putting him off balance. He quickly jumped back. As soon as he landed, he charged forward again, stabbing towards Argan. Argan dodged to the left and sliced towards Jackson''s left shoulder, but Jackson quickly reacted and turned his body, just barely dodging the dagger. As he turned, he sliced out again toward Argan, this time aiming for his leg, Argan could not react in time and got hit. Feeling the pain in his leg, he kicked towards Jackson. But, as soon as Jackson hit Argan, he jumped up with his left hand and landed a few feet away from Argan. As the fight was going on everyone was cheering and yelling. The three Elders in the booth were watching the battle, giving comments about the fight. "Even though this is his first fight, he''s doing pretty well." Elder Jin said. "Especially against such an experienced fighter like Jackson." "Well, it is obvious Jackson has the upper hand. It won''t be long until Argan is beaten." Elder Inmah retorted. "Haha. We will just have to wait and see. Don''t forget who his grandfather is, haha," Elder Baine said. As he said this, Elder Inmah gave a solemn expression. As Jackson jumped away, so did Argan. They both used this chance to take a breath. "You''re pretty good. For scum of the earth like you, that is. This time, I''m actually going to use my full strength. Get ready." Jackson said and dropped his sword into the ground. He started to do something weird with his hands. He curled one up into a ball and covered it with his other hand. "Oh! Boost of the Dragon! I didn''t expect you would pass down this skill to him, Inmah. And for him to be able to comprehend this much," Elder Jin said. "Well, he is my nephew. It is the least I could do," Elder Inmah said with a proud expression. "It was a good fight, but with this, it is over. There is no way Argan can beat Jackson now," Elder Baine said. On the stage, Jackson''s aura was rising. His very presence was like that of a dragon''s, although a small one. After a few seconds, Jackson looked very ferocious. "Watch out," Jackson said, as he charged, this time much faster than before. Argans eyebrows furrowed, as he charged forward as well. The fight continued, but Jackson''s speed was a little more than Argan could handle. He was just barely dodging Jacksons attacks, and even stumbled a few times. Jackson punched towards Argan, but Argan just barely dodged. The fist grazed his right shoulder. But right as Argan was about to counter, Jackson kicked his leg, causing Argan to fall backward. Argan did a backflip and instantly charged forward, this time stabbing with his dagger. Jackson saw this and was about to chop at Argans Arm, but as soon as Argan got close, Jackson felt a pain in his chest. He flew backward a few feet, right in front of his sword. He looked at Argan and saw Argans fist out. "Wha...what was that?" Someone in the crowd asked. Even the Elders were stunned by this attack. "Wait. I think I remember what that skill is called." Elder Baine said. "It was brought back by the old clan head. I think it was called...[Peerless Fist of Speed]," "Wait. I remember now! Back when old clan head brought it back, no one was able to comprehend it! The only two who were able to were..." Elder Inmah said but stopped midway. "Argans Grandfather and mother." Elder Jin completed the thought., as all the Elders had a weird expression on their face. "Well, it must be destiny for his bloodline to learn that skill." Elder Jin sighed as he said. Back on the stage, Jackson was astonished. ''That speed was faster than mine! And I didn''t feel any Inner Energy on the fist either. No, it impossible he reached that speed with his physical body alone!'' Jackson thought. Then he remembered what his uncle told him. ''Slash near his eyes.'' Jackson picked up his sword and took a breather. He still felt the pain from the fist but brushed it off. He swung his sword down, and then charged once again, this time, he put his Inner Energy inside of his chest, to protect him. Argan saw Jackson rushing and did the same. As they got near, Argan once again stabbed out with his dagger, the same way he did earlier. "Is he a fool? Doing the same attack twice?" Someone in the crowd asked. "Not this time," Jackson said, as he punched with his left hand towards Argans left shoulder. Midway, their fists met. Argan was astonished. Right when he felt this attack, he tried to move his dagger, but then saw the wooden sword coming for his face. He leaned back, trying to dodge, but then something happened. Blood splattered, and Argan fell down, covering his face. His eyes in excruciating pain. The crowd went silent, and everyone had a shocked expression. On the stage, Jackson had a horrified expression. He looked up towards his uncle, only to see him looking at him with disdain. "JACKSON WEY! You dare disobey the rules and bring a real sword into the battle?!" Elder Jin yelled, with a furious expression. "No! No...I..I didn''t..." Jackson stuttered. "There is no getting out of this! Come! Follow me!" Elder Jin said as he leaped onto the stage. Elder Baine jumped down as well and picked up Argan. He left the arena quickly, bringing him towards a large building. In the arena, everyone was mumbling about what happened. Almost everyone was shocked. "Jackson was usually a nice person, no matter how arrogant he got. I can''t believe he would do something like this." One said. Some of Jacksons diehard fans even outright denied that jackson did this, and it was all a ruse by Argan. Elder Inmah stood there in the booth, with no expression. Soon a smirk creeped up on his face, as he left towards where Elder Baine did. Chapter 5: Recovery In the arena, everyone was mumbling about what happened. Soon a smirk crept upon his face, as he left towards where Elder Baine did.
Elder Baine was carrying Argan, as Argan kept groaning in pain. Elder Baine was running at his fastest speed towards the infirmary. After a few seconds, the duo reached the building and Elder Baine entered. "Nurse! Hurry and come help this child!" He yelled. As soon as he did, a woman in white robes ran out from a room. She recognized both Elder Baine and Argan. "Right away, Elder." She said, as she grabbed Argan and brought him into a room. Inside this room was a Medium sized bed, just enough for two people. She laid Argan down Argan was gripping tightly onto the sheets of the bed, wincing in pain, trying his hardest not to scream. Soon, the nurse put her hand over his head, and he fell unconscious. As he fell asleep, she took a look at his injuries. As soon as she saw, she furrowed her brows. Elder Bained entered the room. "He was slashed across the eyes by a sword." He explained. "Is there any way to heal him?" "We can heal this with ease, but since it is so close to the eyes, we don''t know if there will be any damage to them. We will only know the result in a few days." The nurse replied. Elder Baine looked down solemnly. "Do what you can." He said. "Oh, and don''t forget, he is the grandson if ''him.'' Keep that in mind." Elder Baine said as he left the building. The nurse took another look at Argan, this time with some worry, as she started to work on healing him. A few days passed, and Argan was still sleeping. The nurse was checking his pulse, to see if there any problems. Seeing that there were none, she sighed in relief. His injuries were completely gone, and he seemed perfectly fine. A few minutes later, and he woke up.
Argan woke up, feeling no more pain. He tried opening his eyes but to no avail. He saw only darkness. "Ah! Argan you''re finally awake. Thank goodness." The nurse said. "How did you know I was awake if my eyelids never opened?" Argan asked, confused.Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon. The nurse sat there, a look of worry. "Are...are you saying you can not see?" She asked, with a deeply worried tone. "Well, obviously. My eyelids are closed and I can not open them. Can you explain whats going on?" He asked again. "Argan...I think...you may be blind." She said, hesitatingly. "Your eyelids are clearly open, yet you can not see. This must be blindness." "..." Argan sat there, not saying anything. Soon, a rush of anger overtook him. He remembers what happened the few days prior. "Jackson!" He yelled as he clenched his fist. ''Had it not been for him, I wouldn''t be blind,'' he thought. "Do not worry. There is a chance that this could be temporary." The nurse said. But both her and Argan knew a wound that serious wouldn''t cause only temporary blindness. To cultivators being blind pretty much meant there was no point to cultivating. If you were blind, then you couldn''t see the opponents attacks. Although there will still be sound, once you reach the higher realms all movements become either too fast for too silent for someone blind to be able to defend against. As Argan sat there quietly, the nurse walked out of the room. She walked into another room full of drawers and letters. This was the mail room, where they could send letters and such to other members of the claim. She sat down at a table and wrote down Argans condition. She then rolled the letter up and tied it to a birds leg. This was a special type of bird, called the Unladen Swallow, one that could travel miles in a few minutes. It was the fastest way to communicate with someone here. "Take this to Elder Baine." The nurse said to the bird. It understood her perfectly and flashed out of the window.
Elder Baine was sitting at a large table, with a few other Elders. This was the council, where they deal with the problems the clan is currently having. Currently, there were seven members in the council, with Elder Baine being the Head Elder in this council. Elder Inmah and Elder Jin were apart of this council, both the fourth and second members respectively. Usually, the meetings are held once every month, but since Argan was seriously hurt the meeting was pushed forward to today. "I think he should be rid of all consequences. It was obvious that trash''s fault for trying to fight him! He got his just desserts!" One elder said. It was a large, burly man, with a thick beard. He looked to be in his middle age years. His name was Elder Bram and was fighting for Jackson''s release. He was the 5th member of the council. "And ignore the clan rules?! Wouldn''t that be the biggest humiliation for our clan?! What if this news spreads out?! What happens then?!" Another Elder said. This time it was an elderly man, nearing his 70s. He had a hunched back, and a long white beard. This was Elder Khan, the oldest of the elders, and was one of the more respected members. He was the third member of the council. "Alright, Alright. We just need to wait for news on Argans Condition from the nurses. Then, we will dish out the correct punishment." Elder Baine said. After a few seconds, there was a knock on the door. "Enter." Elder Baine said, and a young servant entered. "News from the Medical House has come about Argan Grays condition, esteemed elders," The servant said, and handed the letter to Elder Baine. who was closest to the door. He opened the letter, and read it aloud. "His condition is very bad. The wound was healed and there are no scars to be found. There is also no case of internal bleeding. He seems to be perfectly fine." Elder Baine read but was interrupted by Elder Bram. "How is this bad? He seems to be perfect! There''s no need to worry!" Bram said. "There''s more." Baine retorted. "Although there''s no internal bleeding or any scars, he..." Baine said with a sullen face. "He''s gone blind..." Chapter 6: Recovery(2) "He''s gone blind..." Baine said with a sullen face. "Bl-Blind? What?" Elder Khan said. "the nurse said it could be temporary, but it is highly unlikely," Baine said. "What do we tell his Grandfather?" A middle-aged woman said. She had long blonde hair and a mole under her right eye. This was Elder Fan, the sixth member of the council. "What do you think will happen once he learns of this?" She voiced her worries. After she said this, the door opened. Then, a young man, in his twenties, entered the room. "I couldn''t help but notice that you guys were arguing over a useless trash?" The young man said. He had long red hair tied up in a ponytail. This was Elder Lun, the seventh, and youngest, member of the council. "Late again, as always." Elder Khan said with displeasure. "You know I''m only here because of my punishment. I wouldn''t be here with you old geezers otherwise." Elder Lun replied. "Let''s get back to the topic at hand. What do we do about his blindness?" Elder Jin finally spoke up. "Just throw him out! He is even more useless than he was before. I''m sure his grandfather, that old man, would be able to see that ." Elder Lun spoke up. "For once, I agree. What is the point of having some blind kid leech off of us?" Elder Bram said. "It is better to get rid of him now than have a leech for a while." Elder Fan then spoke up, "We all know how much that old guy loves his family. He would do anything to keep Argan in the clan. there is nothing we can do!" "Then we make him do anything! Imagine what we could do with his power!" Elder Lun said. Elders Khan, Fan, Bram, Jin, and Baine looked at each other with worry. At this point, Inmah was still keeping quiet, not voicing his opinion. "Alright, We need to talk about this later. Let us just wait for a month. If Argan is still blind by then, then we will tell the upper echelon." Elder Baine said. "Let''s get back to the original topic. Jackson Weys'' punishment..."
A few hours after the nurse had sent the bird to Elder Baine, Argan was still sitting in the bed, distraught over his current condition. At first, he was angry at Jackson for making him blind, but he then thought about the consequences. No matter what, he could never get his revenge because he was blind. ''Now I''m even worse than trash...'' He thought to himself. Soon there was a knock on the door. A moment after, Elder Baine entered. "Who is it?" Argan asked, not exactly sure where the door was. "It''s me. I just wanted to come to talk to you," Elder Baine spoke up. "Oh, Elder Baine. Apologies for not greeting you correctly," Argan said sullenly. "No need to worry. Just sit there, and forget about formalities," Baine said. "Anyways, we have decided on Jacksons'' punishment. He will be in the Hall of Agony for three months, and sent to the military for one year."If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it. The Hall of Agony was where those who are punished are sent. It was a terrible place, with the very low density of the energies needed to cultivate. The longer you are in there, the worse it gets. Some can even lose levels of cultivation if they are in there for too long. "That''s...that''s good, I guess," Argan said, still sullen. "Don''t worry, this blindness could only be temporary," Elder Baine said, trying to cheer Argan up but to no avail. "I know there''s no hope, there is no need to waste your breath," Argan said. As he said this, Elder Baine showed an expression of anger, but it soon disappeared. ''Hmph, this brat is lucky. I would have long slapped him to death just for saying something so disrespectful,'' Elder Baine thought to himself. "There is one more thing," Elder Baine spoke up. "What is it?" Argan replied, a little confused. "The Elders in the council were wondering. How are you able to cultivate? Some said it was a treasure, while others said you were just a hidden talent." Baine asked. "Oh, that''s because of this man-" Argan started to speak, but then fell back down on his bed unconscious. Elder Baine checked to see if he was okay and felt Argans pulse. Seeing that his heart was still beating, he pinched Argan. Seeing that nothing happened he stood up. "Hmph! This brat. No matter. Once he gets kicked out ill kill him in secret. Then I can get that treasure off of him." Elder Baine said as his appearance started to change. His hair started turning red, and wrinkles started to disappear. Soon. his appearance turned completely into Elder Inmahs. He was actually disguising as Elder Baine. Inmah left the room and slammed the door shut, but Argan was still unconscious.
Deep within Argans conscious. "Oh? I''m here again. Why is that?" Argan said aloud. Soon a large figure appeared. "Hmph, it''s because you almost gave away the secret." The figure said. "Oh, hello Elder. And what do you mean?" Argan said. "You think this manual is something that''s so easily thrown around and told to everyone?! NO!" The figure roared. "THIS," as the manual appeared in his hand, "Is a peerless cultivation manual! Although it is only suitable for those of your bloodline, it still has an immeasurable value!" He said angrily. As the figure said this, Argan put his head down. "But...Elder. I''m blind. It''s pretty much useless to me now," Argan said. The figure snorted as he said this. "Hmph. It seems you truly are dumb. Have you forgotten about those two techniques?" The figure said. "You mean...the Eyes of Heaven and Hell? They can cure my blindness?!" Argan exclaimed. "Of Course. Its a technique from the manual, so it, of course, will be heaven-defying. But there are downsides," the figure said. "Like what?" Argan asked. "Well, you won''t be able to see with normal vision. You can only see with the effects of The Eyes in place." The figure said. "How is that a downside? If it''s a peerless technique, then it can only bring benefits, right?" Argan replied. "Naive." The figure snorted in contempt. "Everything has a downside. This technique is no exception. For example, the whites of your eyes will be miscolored, making them black and gold. And also, this technique consumes a massive amount of the natural energies. So by the time you have the technique activated for only one second, for someone with a cultivation level like yours, you''d be exhausted. Only can its true prowess be shown in martial advocate or magic patron level." As Argan heard this he looked down dejectedly. "So there''s practically no hope unless I reach martial advocate or magic patron?" He asked. "There is no hope for you to see until you reach this realm, yes," The figure replied. Argan slumped down with regret. ''Why did I have to pick a fight with Jackson? Had known my limits I could have put a farther date,'' he thought to himself. As the figure saw this, a faint light flashed through his eyes. But it soon disappeared. "Hmph, have some faith fool. I''ll have you know I spent the greater half of my cultivation blind and I did just fine." The figure said. "This will also be a good lesson for you, but I will let you figure it out yourself." As the figure said this, Argan looked up with surprise. ''There is still hope?'' He thought. "Please guide me on what to do!" He bowed and asked. "All we need to do is sharpen your other senses. But before we do that, there is one goal you need to reach." The figure said. "And what is that?" Argan asked. "Reach the 6th level of Body tempering." The figure replied. Chapter 7: Advancement The day after Argan was diagnosed with blindness, he left the infirmary. But not without an escort. The nurse who took care of him held his arm and led him the way towards his ''house''. As Argan walked he was met with a multitude of gazes. Some pity, some sadness, but most of all, mockery. "This idiot of a person overstepped his boundaries. Doesn''t know whats best for him." One teen said. "He should have stayed unable to cultivate. At least he could have done something for the clan then. Now, he''s absolutely useless." Another remarked. Although Argan could not see, he could still see. But he paid no attention to the comments. He was too focused on how he could train to the 6th level. Soon, they made it to his house, or at least what was left of it. As the nurse saw this, she was shocked and let out a gasp. "Pay no mind to it. It doesn''t affect me." Argan said, as if reading her mind. He slowly stumbled his way over to the rubble and made a clearing. "Thank you" He said to the nurse and sat down. The nurse looked dejeected and wanted to say something, but eventually left. After she was gone, Argan cleared his mind and focused on his internal body. Although he could not see the outside world, he could see the inside of him perfectly. He felt a passion, one he''s never felt before. Not for revenge, but for strength. ''Truly, there is nothing if not strength. Without strength, then I will be nothing.'' As he thought this, he felt his mind become more clear. He felt more at ease with the situation. Then, his mind was fully cleared, as he focused on cultivation.
Hours passed, as Argan sat there, cultivating. But he was getting frustrated. He did all that he knew, but was making very little progress. ''I need to calm down. Frustration will only make it worse.'' He pondered. ''But, I wonder, why is it taking so long? Bah, what ever. I''ll just let my mind wander. Maybe then i''ll come to a solution.'' And so he did. He recalled the events of the fight, the humiliation from Jackson, the anger he felt. He recalled the false attitude of Elder Baine and his hidden intents. Argan usually didn''t let himself think about these things, as he believed they would irritate him and ruin his calm mood, but he was more calm than ever. Soon, Argan subconciously started moving according to the movements of the figure from his mind, that displayed the movements of ''Peerless Fist of Speed.'' At first, the movements were slow, almost reaching a snails pace, but sped up at an exponential rate. He was soon moving a pace where the wind would whistle after his movements. This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there. This continued on, until a layer of slightly toxic substance oozed from his pores. Argan didn''t notice this though, and continued with his movements. After about 3 hours, Argan was moving at a speed where he was just a blur to the average humans eye. He moved faster and faster, and as he continued, there was a cold, but comfortable energy moving about his body, and his skin turned clearer, but the subtance on his body made this hard to notice. Soon, after about a total of 5 hours of practicing, Argan began to slow down, and then eventually stopped. Although he couldn''t see, he felt the substance on his skin, and felt a little disgusted. But then he realized. "6th level of body tempering! Perfect!" Argan jumped for joy. He was excited at the fact that he reached the 6th level and even more excited that he could finally start training his senses ''How should i got about training my other senses?'' He thought. He sat there for a while until he came up with a clumsy but possible solution. Running. Argan stretched his muscles and felt around himself. Then he took a running position. He then started to sprint off into the distance, or so he thought. As soon as he took off, he ran straight into a tree. He fell down, not knowing what he had run into it. As he stood back up he rubbed his forehead. Right as he did this, there was a quiet giggle nearby. "Who''s there?" Argan excalimed. Then there was a light thump as Argan heard someone lading on the ground. "Ah, you figured me out. What were you doing running into that tree like that?" A sweet voice resounded, belonging to a young girls. Argan turned to where the voice came from, and replied. "Im training my other senses of course. Now, could you please leave? You''re distracting me." He asked impatiently. "Ah! You''re Argan Gray! The one who went blind in the duel!" The girl said, ignoring Argan. Argan felt frustrated at this. He just made a breakthrough and he was in a good mood, but it had been ruined by this girl. He frowned and started to walk away, but it wasn''t long before he ran into something again. He stumbled back, once again rubbing his forehead. The girl giggled again, and said, "You won''t make much progress like that you know. Maybe you should go to the training area. There are dummies that attack so you can train!" Argans eyes lit up as he thought of this. But soon, he frowned. "Are you trying to insult me?" He asked, his recovered good mood vanishing instantly. The girl blushed as she shook her head. "Thats not what i meant! Here, to pay you back i''ll take you there!" She took Argans hand and pulled him along before Argan could even reply. He frowned at this and was about to struggle, but then heard the Figure in his mind speak. ''Let her take you. This is better than running into trees. after all.'' Argan let go of his thoughts of struggle, and reluctantly let the girl pull him along. After a short while, they exited the forest. "I never asked you for your name." Argan spoke up. The girl kept pulling him along as she replied, "Weylin. Weylin Lin. I don''t mean to boast or anything, but my grandfather is the 1st Elder in the Head Branch of the Patron Manor!" She said smugly, and with a hint of arrogance. Argan was about to ask what this meant but was interuppted. "Ah! Here we are. The Sense Training Camp. This should be enough repayment. Well, i''ll be off now." Weylin said. Argan was still confused about the whole situation, but before he could ask any questions, he heard Weylin running off. ''Whatever. Lets get to training.'' He thought to himself. He felt around the area, and found the entrance to the camp.
