《Status Screen And Monsters Are Exist, But My Class Is XXX? Is There Something Wrong With That?》 Chapter 1: Eight Classes and He Picks XXX! (Re-edited) Sum Ting Wong''s story started at 7 a.m in the morning. He waslaying in his bed. His stomach rumbled unpleasantly and he slowly opened his eyes. Basic Attributes Set! Sum Ting Wong Level: 1 Class: --- AP: 0 Health(/R per hour): 49 (1.9) Mana(/R per hour): 55 (6.4) Stamina(/R per min): 53 (0.97) Strength: 5 Endurance: 5 Vitality: 4 Agility: 5 Dexterity: 7 Intelligence: 6 Wisdom: 5 Focus: 3 Willpower: 2 Charisma: 4 For more information, you can view your attributes anytime by thinking "Menu" and then selecting "Attributes". Still half-asleep, Wonggroaned, freeing his hand just enough to naturally swipe at the blue box in front of his face as he cracked his eyes open. "Weird dream." It was not as if he hadplayed that much video game to deserve that kind of dream either. Last night, he just spent a few hours of his time playing a new mobile phone game before he went to bed, which he already planned to delete thanks to unbalanced pvp. In any case, he thought his brain wasn''t creative enough to have that kind of dream. But almost as soon as the box disappeared, another appeared, obscuring the unfamiliar wooden ceiling above him. You have 2 unspent CP, and1 unspent SP, would you like to assign these points? "What the hell?!" Wongjerked forwards, pulling his 172cmframe into a sitting position as he swept his unkemptwavy black hair out of his eyes to stare at the taunting blue message. "Err... This can''t be real, I mean, sure it''s real, but it can¡¯t be.I must be still dreaming, things like this didn''t happen in real life." It was almost like a window in a touchscreen which made zero sense, since there was no tablet in front of him. And even there was one, he sure as hell it wouldn''t be floating around like this. And heknew this wasn''t a prank from his friend.... as he had no zero friends. Wong was hugging his head as he was trying to convince himself this was just a dream. However, considering the rather realistic aches and pains that encompassed his body after packing up all of those brown boxes from yesterday, it was really not a dream. "But... this... this is impossible." When Wong reached his finger out, attempting to touch the screen itself and for a moment, nothing happened until he movedhis hand when the screen seemed to ''stick'' to it, swinging with his hand. He could even feel how the screen had a slight tactile sensation to it, like touching plastic wrap stretched too tight except with the added tingle of static electricity. Wongstared at his hand and the window and then flicked it away watching the window shrunk. Wait a minute?!There''s no way that''s happening?! Wong gasped. From out of nowhere he remembered a particular web novel that he had read where the protagonist received those floating blue screens in their sleep, and when they woke up the world had already overrun by the monster. Wong jumped out from his bed and ran straight to the window. One small part of him actually hoped there was a group of a small and green humanoid creature walking down on the street. Hence, he didn''t need to pay this month rent. As Wong formulated a survival strategy, such whether or not he should stay in his apartment, what should he do with the food supply, was there anything that he could use in his apartment as a weapon and many more, he nervously slid the curtain open. The warm ball of light shone through the window, rays of brightness lying on the tiled floor like sweet honey, reflecting onto several objects in the room which decorated its otherwise simplicity. Wong blinked a few times, in an attempt to help his eyes adjust to the illumination directed right at hisfigure. Tsk... Wong barely believed his eyes when he saw a lovey-dovey couple happily rode their couple bike on the side street, and a chorus of birds breaks the drone of the city traffic that he could only describe as the perfect morning. But this perfect morningsignifiedhe needed to go to the nearest ATM, grab some money and pay his rent. With a half relieved and half disappointed sigh, while thinking how stupid he was for getting worked up like that Wong lazily walked back into his bed, where he let the gravity did its job and fell back to his bed.Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings. He had planned to go back to his parent house sometimes in this month and already packed everything. Without anything else to do, Wongstarted opening his Menu, browsing through things, trying to see what he could find to humour him. There were five options on the menu: Attributes, Skills, Class, Quest, and Companion. BothQuest andCompanionwerecrossed out, and Wong already knew what Attributes were, so he clicked on Skills. A new menu opened up that showed Wong the 3skills he had available, as well as numbers next to them.Animal Handlingwas currently at 2, whileStealth and Running were 1. At the top right, there was SP: 1, which madeWong believed that SP stood forskill points or something like that. Wong raised his eyebrow, wondering how the hell he received Stealth and Running as his skill. As for Animal Handling, he more or less already knew the reason, but that was a story for another time. With a big yawn, without thinking too much Wongnonchalantly clicked on Stealth, which then rose to 2. And another screen appeared. Congratulations! You have earned 1 AP. Sure enough, when Wong switched over to his Attributes Screen, his AP that was previously 0 had been increased to 1. But then what? This time, Wong scanned the whole screen seriously. There were many Attributes but there was no real information available to him, although they all seemed self-explanatory. "Ah... right." Struck by an idea, he pressed on Intelligence, not on the number but right on the word ''Intelligence'' hoping it wouldshow him some sort of pop up information. But... Sum Ting Wong Level: 1 Class: --- AP: 0 Health(/R per hour): 49 (1.9) Mana(/R per hour): 55 > 56 (6.4 > 7.1) Stamina(/R per min): 53 (0.97) Strength: 5 Endurance: 5 Vitality: 4 Agility: 5 Dexterity: 6 Intelligence: 6 > 7 Wisdom: 5 Focus: 3 Willpower: 2 Charisma: 4 When Wong did that, his AP got reduced to 0 and his Intelligence rose to 7. He also noticed that hisMana Regeneration per Hour went up by 0.7 and Max Mana went to 56, which, he supposed, was pretty good? But the real question was... "....What the hell? Shouldn''t the screen give me some kind of confirmation request before I do this?" Wong had already wondered about that when he clicked on Stealth, it seemedwhoever created this status screen didn''t do a good job at it. Shaking his head, he Wong thatthought to the side. There was no use for complainingover something that had happened. Not to mention there was no customer service where he could send his complaint either. Instead, hewent back to his menu and clicked on Class menu: Please choose one of the following class: 1. Assassin 2.Hunter 3.Horse Rider 4.Monk 5. Pyromancer 6.Cook 7. Villager 8.Fisherman Sure enough, another screen appeared and Wong was viewing the list, but... Scratching his head, Wong thought the options didn''t make any sense at all. For starter, what wasthe point of becoming an Assassin? Of course, compared to other classes it seemed to be the strongest, but was there any reason for him to become Assassin? He didn''t have anyone he wanted to kill, nor he had an enemy. Then what about becoming a contract killer? That should be enough to resolve Wong''s money problem. Thankfully enough, he didn''t have any connection or knew someone that needed an Assassination service, and without any consumer, that meant he wouldn''t get a single penny. Not to mention, there was no way he could put a brochure on the street, written with ''Professional Assassin!! Please call 555-xxx-123 for my service! 100% guaranteed kill!'' Yep,Assassin was a bad choicebuthow about Hunter? At first, Wong thought this was a good idea. But thanks to the increase inhis intelligence, he stopped his finger just before ittouched the screen and asked to himself how the hell he could afford a gun if he didn''t have enough money to fill something in his empty fridge? Horse Rider? Same reason as above. Monk? Was there any guarantee he wouldn''t lose his hair? Pyromancer? The only thing that crossed Wong''s mind was that he would appearon television, either because he went into a talent show or accidentally became a pyromaniac. Villager? He thought he couldn''tmaximize the class potential in the middle of Brooklyn. Feeling another unpleasant rumbling on his stomach, with only two options left Wong shrugged his shoulder and clicked on... Congratulations! You have become a Cook 1! +6 Health, +1 Health Regen, +8 Mana, + 1.5 Mana Regen, +12 Stamina, +0.75 Stamina Regen. + 1 Vitality, +1 Dexterity, +1 Wisdom, +1 Focus. You have acquired the Class [Cook] skills:Kitchenware 1, Recipe 1, NutritionalCooking 1, Fast Food 1! Sum Ting Wong Level: 1 Class: Cook 1 AP: 0 Health(/R per hour): 49 > 56 (1.9 > 2.9 ) Mana(/R per hour): 56 > 71 (7.1 > 8.6) Stamina(/R per min): 53 > 72 (0.97 > 1.97 ) Strength: 5 Endurance: 5 Vitality: 4 > 5 Agility: 5 Dexterity: 6 > 7 Intelligence: 7 Wisdom: 5 > 6 Focus: 3 > 4 Willpower: 2 Charisma: 4 This was what Wong decided, Cook... And there was no confirmation menu. When picking his Class, Wong asked himself, what was the most important thing in this world? And thanks to his rumbling stomach, the answer he came up with was everyone needed to eat. Andby picking a Cook as his class, he should, more or less, can make a decent meal. And that meant he could either work in a restaurant or make his own catering service, hence his income should''ve increased, and thus,he didn''t need to go home, at least if he could make enough money for this month. Of course, The thought of becoming a man of the sea had crossed Wong''s mind, butfrom his experience,he knew he didn''t have enough patience to sit a whole day while waiting for a fish tobite the bait, not to mentionthe seasickness. Anyway, another thunderous rumblingcame from his stomach. Clenching his stomach, Wong took a last look on his Class Menu, his CP was decreased to 1. Maybe he could use the remaining 1 CP to increase the level more? But... "This is not a dream, right?" Wong tilted his head, speaking aloneaccompanied by the sound ofhis rumbling stomach like a choir. After all, if it was too good to be true, something was definitely wrong. Chapter 2: Although XXX Is A Little Bit Disappointing, But Hey! Its Free! (Edited) Sum Ting Wong current class was Cook at Rank 1. Considering that he had used one pointto learn it, there was a possibility of using the remaining CP (Class Points) to increase Cookto Rank 2. Silently praying in his heart, Wong moved his finger toward the screen andclicked on the Cook''s bar. Unable to increase Cook to Rank 2. 2CP are required. A new mini screen appeared in front of the big screen. But, even thoughWong''s experience in a video game had more or less prepared him with thisprobability, he still couldn''t help but frown at the screen. He spent 1 CP to get Cook class, and he had to spend 2 CP to increase Cook from Rank 1 to rank 2. Likewise, when raising Cook from rank 2 to rank 3, he should''ve needed 3 CP. Opening a calculator app on his phone, Wong started calculating and foundhe needed 45 CP, or in other words, if he got 2 CP per level that meant he had to reach level 23 to increase Cook to Rank 9. Butthat raised another question. Wong''s eyes went to the spot where there was a line of other classes. He was trying to put the last Class Point into Fisherman, but... Unable to choose a Second Class. Well, to tell the truth,Wong had been expecting that answer. In most of the games that Wong had played, they would not allow his character topick another class until he reached the milestone, whether it was to reach a certain level or do a certain quest. But Wong shook his head. There was no need for him tothink aboutmulticlass. Instead, he closed his Class Menu and started opening Skill Menu. Wong received four new skills from Cook, though there was no information about how to use a skill or something like a tutorial. Shrugging his shoulder, Wong pressed on one of the new skill for a few seconds, thinking maybe an information skill would show up. Unable to increase skill level, not enough SP. Well, Wong would lie if he said he didn''t expect that, but with this mini screen, Wong knew that touching whatever written on the screen would increase their level without any confirmation. Sighing, although feeling slightly foolish, this time Wong followed what every other protagonist in the light novel did when they used their skill or magic. "....Fast Food?" But this time, immediately after he said that, another screen popped up in front of him. Fast Food (Level 1): Focusing your Mana, you create a loaf of bread,a bowl worth of stew, half a pound of cheese, two apples, two beef jerkyand1,5 litre of water on the ground or in containers within range. The food is bland but nourishing and spoils if uneaten after 24 hours. The water is clean and doesn''t go bad. Vocal: Not registered. Somatic: Not registered.Reading on Amazon or a pirate site? This novel is from Royal Road. Support the author by reading it there. Cost 10 Mana. Do you want to use Fast Food 1? >Yes >No Raising his eyebrow, Wong clicked Yes. The screen disappeared and... "Woooogh?!" Something inside ofWong moved, something that he hadn''t had before yesterday, and hadn''t noticed because it never had been there before, rising and rushing to his palms, slowly flowing out into the air. And in the direction where his palms pointed at, Wong saw blue energy floating around in the air, slowly forming itself into some kind of shape... A circle, filled with complicated lines and unknown writing. It then shonebrightly and before Wong knew it, a plethora amount of food appeared on the floor. But.... "...Fuck." The water was splashing directlyon the floor, flooding it and soaking the bread. Cheese and jerky were coated in the stew. The apples were rolling, each to the opposite side because of the sloping floor. Yelping and hopping from his bed,Sum Ting Wong glared at the mess, cursing the skill. Then he read the skill description thoughtfully before he was chiding himself for his idiocy. "But damn... Why doesn''t italso create a container or something like that?" Wong wanted to try again, but due to the fact that he could see eyes of some sort of bug glistering under his fridge, he would need to wait a bit. Instead, he took a mop and started cleaning up the mess he had created. While making a mental note to figure out in which box he put his tableware, Wong remembered something. He threw his mop to the floor, walked to the table and then said "Kitchenware." Kitchenware(Level 1):Focusing your Mana to create up to 2 Kitchenware of your choice that lasts for onehour. You must know its name, directly seen its shape, and understand its initial function before you are able to summon them. Vocal: Not registered. Somatic: Not registered. Cost: 10 Mana. Do you want to useKitchenware 1? >Yes >No To tell the truth, the way he used Skill was... A little bit disappointing. But Wong just shrugged his shoulder along with his disappointment to the side and chose Yes. The same force moved within Wong, and a different kind of complicated circle appeared at the direction of his palms, right on the table. To get it over with, when the circle shone, a big glass pitcher and a slightly oval pot, just like what Wong had imagined appearedon the table. Grinning wildly, once again Wong usedFast Food. But this time, he arranged the food position in his mind.He imagined the glass pitcher was filled with water, the pot was filled with stew, while the other foods were scattered around them. When the circle shone, unlike the last time, the food was carefully organized on the table.Wong''s stomach growled like a bear and a bit of drool fell of his lip, without wasting another second Wong happily chomped on the bread but... With widened eyes, Wong knew Fast Food description said the food was bland, but surprisingly, it wasn''t bland at all. In fact, it tasted like shit. The bread was hard, he had tochoke it down with thewater and grimaced. The apple tasted like... Actually, it didn''t have any taste. If he had to imply the jerky as starvation rations that would imply that it was in some way edible, and so instead Wong described it as a cross between styrofoam and leather. It was a texture even his molars couldn''t grind down into something swallowable. The stew must have beenmade by some catering school degenerate who scrapped through with a C plus and approved by some cooperate executive who only cares about the dollar amount per meal. The cheese... Wongdidn''t even want to talk about that thing. But if he looked at the bright side, the water was indeed refreshing. Or maybe the purpose of the water was to clean the eater''s mouth from bad taste? Then again, it was probably enough for him to live with these foods, not with the cheese. After all, ifWong ignored the taste and the cheese, the skill description saidthe food was nourishing. But the most important part, it was FREE.And that meant,Wong could save a whole bunch of money by cutting off the food expense. But before that... He needed to attend his class. Chapter 3: He Has Status Screen, But Where The Hell Is His XXX? (Edited) "Crap..." Sum Ting Wong was ready to go to his campus, but when he reached the first floor, which extended for several meters before the front door. And rightin front of the front door... A bald middle-aged man, with floating health bar on top of his head and was wearing beer stained white tank top covered with a striped boxer was standing in front of the front door, AT 7.30 AM, which totally was not normal, as that man supposedly still slept on the top of his coach. But today, rather than doing his usual activity that middle-aged man was talking happily to someone that Wong assumed as his friend. Wong quicklyhid behind the wall. Even though that middle-aged man aka the owner was a good man, but when it came to renting money... Wong felt the chill in his spine. If the ownercould lecture someone for about two hours just because they were one day late with their payment, just think what the owner could do to Wong, that was two days late. Considering the risk he could face, Wong started thinking to skip his class. Although...Not coming to today class wasn''t a wise choice either. Today was the first week of the second semester.Which meant, if Wong didn''t come to class, he wouldn''t have a group to finish whatever group project the professor gave to them and had to do it alone. Or if he was unlucky, he could''ve joined a group where no one was ever working and had to all the work all by himself, and they still got the credit. With no other choice,no matter what happened, even when a moon size meteor dropped straight from the sky toward earth, Wong still HAD to come to his class. Looking around to his surrounding, there were twoways that he could use aside from the front entrance. The first one was the backdoor, but Wong had already known that the backdoor always locked. The other way was through the fire escape ladder. Then again, it crashedwhen someone tried to use thatladder a few days ago, and the owner still hadn''t called someone to repair it. Sighing, Wong''s only choice was to patiently waituntil the owner moved away from the entrance. But no matter how many minutes Wong waited, the owner''s spits kept flying out toward his friend along with his burst of laughter. Clocking the gear on his brain, trying to think for a way he could go to the outside without getting noticed, Wong remembered something. "Stealth..." Wong whispered quietly, but nothing happened. Did he miss something? This time, Wong opened his Skill Screen and staring at it. Of course, there was nothing different aboutit. "Then how about Running?" Running (Level 1):You are swift of foot. When running, you move three times yourAgility (wearing suitable equipmentandcarrying a load no more than your STR x 12 kg, this includes your own body weight) or two times your Agility(wearingunsuitable equipmentor carrying a load more than your STR x 12 kg,this includes your own body weight). While running, your stamina consumption gets reduced by 5% . "Oh? It appears?" Unlike Fast Food and Kitchenware, both Vocal and Somatic options didn''t appear. And the screen also didn''tgive Wong a choice to use Running, maybe this was the so-called passive skill? But why the screen didn''t give Stealth skill description to Wong? The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation. Raising his eyebrow, once again Wong muttered "Stealth." Stealth (Level 2):The ability to move without being detected audibly.Reduce the noises that you create by 20% at your normal walking speed (equal to your Agility x 1 km/h) or 5% at your normal running speed (equal to your Agility x 2 km/h.) "Oh? Now it appears?" Rubbing his chin, Wong wondered what was the difference that he made. At first, he thought it was because of his intonation, or maybe because he didn''t pronounce Stealth correctly. Full of curiosity, Wong closed his Skill Screen and carefully said "Animal Handling." But nothing happened. "Ah, I see." Wong guess was that the skill descriptionwouldn''t show unless he opened the Skill Screen. Thinking he slowly discovered more of thestatus screen function, Wong widely grinning. But he suddenly gasped when he remembered his initial purpose. Peeking to the front entrance, the owner and his friend still stood there like a statue. Although there were two possible options that Wong could take, he hesitated. Hecould continue to move slowly, trying his best to remain quiet, or he could simply run to the outside. But consideringhehadjust raised his Stealth to Level 2, thinking that Level 2 Skill should be more effective than a Level 1 Skill, he chose the conservative sneaking route. With a determined face, Wongbegan pressing himself to the wall and creeping his wayto the front door. He kept trying at his best to avoid the owner''s field of vision, hisbreath sounded extremely heavy in his ears and even though he didn''t know how much Stealth Level 2 would help him reduce the noise, it still boosted his confidence that he might be able to pull this off. And this time, Wonggave the owner no more than a sideward glance as he slipped past behind him with nothing more than the slight scuff of his soft-soled shoes on the floor. Andby the time theowner''s friend watched Wong suspiciously, tilting his head to the side, wondering what the hell was Wong did. Wong had already dashedaway to the outsidewithout getting noticed by the owner. With a relieved sigh, Wong nonchalantly walked under the bright morning sun, feeling the warm sunlight on his skin while humming the victory song from his favourite fantasy games franchise. His destination was obviously, an ATM and then his campus. Butwhen Wong arrived at the ATM, he had a conundrum. "Huh? Where is it, where is it, my Precious, my PRECIOUS WALLET?!" Wong shouted until many heads were turned in his direction. He checked his whole body, patting every pocket in his attire but he couldn''t findanything. As cold sweat fell from Wong''s forehead, he turned around and began tracing through the list of places he had passed, hiseyes darting more wildly with each passing second, searching for anysilvery salmon fishleathery wallet, hoping it was him. But, the next thing that Wong realized was he already stood right at the front of his apartment building. With nervous eyes, Wong peeked inside, and sure enough, the owner and his friend were still talking in front of the entrance. As he sifted and sorted his eyes were constantly on the look-out for any gleam of silver on the brown floor, butthere wasno sign of his wallet whereabouts. Maybe his wallet fell on the stairway or second floor? But to check it, that would mean Wong had to go to the inside and take another chancewith the owner. With a big sigh, Wong just thought it wasn''t worth the risk and silently left to the bus stop with a slouched shoulder. But when he took a line in the bus queue, he noticed he didn''t have a single penny left toride a bus. With no other choices, Wong watched his feet took steps across the stone path. It took around a half hour of nonstop walking for Wong to finally arrive at his campus. Though, his journey made him realize something about stamina consumption rate. In the first ten minutes after he left his apartment, he found he got bored and jokingly opened his status screen. His staminawas at 70after 10 minutes anddecreasedslowly to 66 after 20 minutes, going to 58 in the last 10 minutes. Wong stopped, sweating lightly from the constant walking. He supposedcould formulate something from his discovery, but he just let the thought slip away. Instead, Wong went straight to his lecture room, his dusty canvas sneakers lined next to the shined pointed-toe leather shoes of passing student.Friends were greeting each other with a hug or a playful punch. As for Wong, he took whatever empty seat that was left and silently sat on it. And even though Wong''s stamina hadn''t increased by a single point, the professor, amiddle-aged man with grey messy hair, with a bent back and an unsteady gait came in. His eyes were hidden behind large reflective glasses, and without even introducing himself, he turned the projector on and started the lecture. But when Wong opened his bag, that was when he a gleam of something silvery that he was looking for the whole time. Chapter 4: Working as XXX! (Not yet edited) Sum Ting Wong isolated himself within his apartment, he was pacing about while staring at the piece of paper that he tightly clenched, frowning. $1,200. That was the amount of money that Wong had to gather to buy therequired textbooks. Not to mention, he still had to buy other supplementary materials for his study. No matter how he looked at his current situation, it was time to look for a job. From here on, having a Cook as his class, the first thing that came to Wong''s mind when he was searching for a job was something related to the food industry. And he did work in one... "Well then, I''m leaving first." After saying goodbye to his co-workers, Wong left the restaurant. It had been 3days since he got a job in a pizza restaurant named Panty Pizza.... as a delivery guy. Apparently, that was the best position he could get whenhe had zero experience working in the restaurant. But working as a pizza delivery guy wasn''t a bad job either. In three days, after working for 10 hours per day, the total amount of money that Wong had gathered was 419$ At first, Wong was confident he could have enough money if he worked for 10 days straight, but there was some small problem on the fourth day. WhenWong awoke, it was to some very weird notifications. As he opened his eyes, he inspected the floating screens. You have been afflicted with Influenza level 1. You have been afflicted with Common Cold level 1. Apparently working for 10 hours each day while livingin such an uncomfortable lifestyle with bland food and zero entertainment was enough to make him sick. "Well...I''ll get better. I''ll get better." Wong repeated to himself, feebly rubbing away at his arms in a sickly attempt to cease the unsettling chill that continued to run down his spine and made his skin crawl. He wanted to not going to hisclass and job and just resting in his apartment. Not going to the class in the second week wasn''t a big problem, but if Wong didn''t come to his job, he was sure another guy would take his place. Not without any reason though, as the only reason Wong could get this job, even though he only went job hunting for one day was that the last delivery guygot sick and therestaurant owner immediatelyreplaced him with Wong. So even though Wong didn''t want to come, he couldn''t help but think of that poor guy... And the fact that he didn''t want to redo his job hunting. With no other choices, Wong got up, went to his class, and worked for another 10 hours. But on the fifth day... You have been afflicted with Common Cold level 2. MorescreensawaitedWong as he woke up. Overnight, his sickness had gotten worse, with Common Cold apparently reached Level 2. Sitting up, Wongheld out a tissue and put it under his stuffy nose. He had had this cold for twodays now, and he was getting worried. After he was finished blowing his nose, he threw it away and opened his status screen. Sum Ting Wong Level: 1 Class: Cook 1 AP: 0 Health(/R per hour): 55/56 (2.9 > -0.1) Mana(/R per hour): 71 (8.6 > 3.6) Stamina(/R per min): 72 (1.97 > 0.77 ) Strength: 5 Endurance: 5Stolen story; please report. Vitality: 5 Agility: 5 Dexterity: 7 Intelligence: 7 Wisdom: 6 Focus: 4 Willpower: 2 Charisma: 4 Wong was stunned when he found out his health had been reduced by one, and his health regen per hour had become negative. But then he shook his head. Although it might be dangerous, he didn''t plan onlaying in his bed forever. In fact, despite hisusualyellow golden skin glowed in the worst way and his limbs fell limply when hestood up, got changed, and went to deliver more pizzas. But he was such anaiveguy for thinking thathis condition would eventually improve. In fact... You have been afflicted with Common Cold level 3. When Wong was driving his scooter, delivering the last order of the day, a new screen appeared, telling him his condition had gotten worsened. "Whatever *snort*. Let''s go home." Today''s work ended up surprisingly late, it was already two hours late than the usual time. And Wong couldn''t believe it, but he was happy just because he could finally go home and rest. But, he had to return the scooter first. Wong drove his scooter and got on the route back. It was 30 minutes drive from his current location to Panty Pizza and another 30 minutes of walk to get back tohis shitty apartment in the suburbs. Considering it was completely dark outside, Wongthought that heshould be careful when he drove. It wouldn''t exactly be a joke if he fell asleep at the wheel and ran someone down. You have been afflicted with Influenza level 2. Along with the appearance of the new notification, Wongnoticed there were almost no cars or people around here, so it was very unlikely for him to get into an accident. It didn''t take much for Wong to change his mind and disregarded speed limits, opening the throttle wide. While thinking about whether or not Fast Food could create Warm Water, Wong yawned. He wasfeeling sleepy, thinking it was the best for himto go to bed soon as he got home. But after Wong finished yawning, he was greeted by some very weird notification. You have received a new quest! "...What?" Wong hadn''t even finished reading the notification when... Crash!! Wong''s body flung forwards, his forehead colliding with his status screen beforehewas rolling down on the tarmac, his scooterand him, the roughness of the road biting at his skin. Then there was a pain to come and nothing that could be done about it. For ananosecond, he didn''t understand what happened. No, his mind refused to accept what happened. Because, no matter how he thought about it, that sound -. "W... What? What did I hit?" Despite having many bruises, cuts, and scratches yet Wong knew he must stand up andglimpsed at the surrounding area. There was no one around. Maybe Wong should escape now? "...No, isn''t this what a hit-and-runner would think? There was a sharp pain on Wong''s body but he still approached the bod, he had to check on what he hit. Gulping his nervousness down, with every step, Wong silently hoped that it was an animal, a dog or maybe a cat. Though, even if it was animal he stillfelt pretty bad about them, then again, he still didn''t want it to be a person. He opened his phone, there was a little crack but he still could use its flashlight and shine it on the laying body. "...What the?" There was something, but it was too big for an animal but too small for a human. A child? No, it was too muscular for children. And it was almost naked... Wong could see itsgreen skin with a loincloth covering its groin. "Are there any people looking like that around here in this neighbourhood?" He was relieved that it wasn''t a person. No, but there were problems with this too. Wong didn''t knowhow to explain ifsomeone elsesaw him. "Gi...-- Gii..." To Wong''s surprise, when a strange voice came out he jumped backwards and tried to enter some defensive posture that he had seen from a Kung-fu flick... Only for him to feel a crippling pain when he moved his left arm. But this wasn''t the time to worry about his arm. "I...It''s still alive?" Staringat the fallen alien, it was faintly moving. Blood... purple blood was spilling from its mouth as the health bar on the top of its head slowly diminished. Also, its body was bent in a weird way. "W-what should I do?Taking it to a hospital? But how the fuck can I explain... This thing?" Not to mention, no matter how Wong saw it, there was no way the hospital could save it. Wait... This thing is... Alien, no, an alien won''t be wearing a dirty loincloth... so... a Cryptids, right? Wouldn''t I''llbecome rich if I manage to capture one of them? But who should I contact? A regular hospital? Area 51? As Wong thought that, the creature glared at him with trembling eyes before itslowly closed his eyes. And died. You have gained 40 experience. Your level has risen to 2. Congratulations! You have earned 2 Cp and 1 Sp! Your level has risen to 3. Congratulations! You have earned 2 Cp and 1 Sp! "Oh? I gain 2 level? Wait, wait, wait, this isn''t important right now!" Wong was planning to take the alien body, even though he still didn''t know what he should do with it, but... "Huh?" The corpse... was gone. It had abruptly disappeared as if it was never there, but right around where the corpse ofthe alien was there was now a... tooth? or maybe a fang? "....." A weird creature. A screen popped up as soon as the dog died. And now a tooth that was right where the alien''s corpse was. "This is... a loot, right? Why a tooth though?" Unsure of what he should do, Wong put the tooth in his pocket and started driving again... or so he hoped. Wongturned the key and just sat on the top of the dented scooter for a moment, listening to the purr of the dying engine. "...Shit... He (the owner) will fire... no.... eviscerate me." Chapter 5: A bunch of XXX (Unedited) Wong''s apartment. The front door opened and Wong staggered in. It didn''t take long for him to drop to his knees in his bedroom and clutched hisbody in cold. Even though his wound somewhat had miraculously disappeared when he leveled up, it seemed that wasn''t the case with the disease. Wong fell to the floor, writhing in agony, drenched in sweat. He began to shake uncontrollably with chills but still managed to use the last bit of his stamina and pawed one hand up to the bed, ripped the blanket and sheets off it, and dragged them down over him. He huddled under them, trembling violently, face pale, eyes black and sunken, teeth chattering. Suddenly, his eyes rolled up into the back of his head and he passed out. Under the lids, his eyes flickered rapidly. When Sum Ting Wong awoke, the sunlight was streaming through his window. He hadn''t moved fromthe position he collapsed into on the floor and he realized that he honestly had no idea how long he was asleep and awake for. His phone was dead and he didn''t have any other clock in his room. He believed it had been 10 or 11 hours, but something that he knew for, he didn''t have class and didn''t have to come tohis jobanymore, but there was some weird feeling in his body. Expectantly, Wong opened his attributes screen to check what was wrong with his body. Sum Ting Wong Level: 3 Class: Cook 1 AP: 0 Health(/R per hour): 34/56 (-0.1 > -2.1) Mana(/R per hour): 71 (3.6 > 0.1) Stamina(/R per min): 49/72 (0.77 > -0.03 ) Strength: 5 Endurance: 5 Vitality: 5 Agility: 5 Dexterity: 7 Intelligence: 7 Wisdom: 6 Focus: 4 Willpower: 2 Charisma: 4 His eyes widened, even though heonly had beenafflicted by common cold level 3 and influenza level 2, which hethought at firstwasn''t a fatal illness, it still reduced his health regen to -2.1. At first, he was glad because the blue screen also actedas his personal assistant, telling him about his health condition which now had almost got reduced by half. And suddenly he felt a chill in his heart, when he imaginedwhat would happen to him if he didn''t have this attributes screen to tell about his condition... But as he thought that, the worst possibility crossed Wong''s mind ashe noticed that his health would be 0 in the next 20 hours, "Don''t tell me... I am dying!?" His stomach grumbled, but he ignored it. His life was much more important than going without a meal for a few hours. While thinking that he should go to seek for medical help, Wong remembered that when he received Cook as his class, he gained a ton of bonuses in his stats, so with that in mind, he resolved to put everything on Cook. Congratulations! You have become a Cook 2! +3 Health, +0.5 Health Regen, +4 Mana, + 0.75 Mana Regen, +6 Stamina, +0.375 Stamina Regen. + 1 Vitality, +1 Dexterity, +1 Wisdom, +1 Focus. Just as he guessed, he had to spend 3 Cp to increase Cook from rank 2 to rank 3, and without any hesitation, Wong put the last 3 Cp. Congratulations! You have become a Cook 3! +3 Health, +0.5 Health Regen, +4 Mana, + 0.75 Mana Regen, +6 Stamina, +0.375 Stamina Regen. + 1 Vitality, +1 Dexterity, +1 Wisdom, +1 Focus. Congratulations! Even though thehealth bonus that he received got cut by half, it seemed like after reaching a certain rank, all skills that he received from Cook also got increased by 1. But that wasn''t important right now, even in his current condition, he still had -1.1 health regen. In a panic mode,Wong put 2 Sp into Nutritional Cooking and swiftly increasing it to level 4. Congratulations! Nutritional Cooking is now level 3! Congratulations! You have earned 1 AP. Congratulations! Nutritional Cooking is now level 4! Congratulations! You have earned 1 AP. Sitting up, Wong went to hisattributesscreenonly to find he didn''t know which attributes that raised his health, End or Vit? Shaking his head, Wong decided to first put one AP he had earned into an Endurance stat. As he watched, the extra point in Endurance, watching closely he saw that the End got him 7 points of health and 0.3 of health regen, but only 0.01stamina regen and no increase in stamina. So End was more health-based, while Vit focused onStamina? When it came down to it, Wong supposed he would probably prefer to buffer up his Vitality then. But for now, Increasing the maximum value of his health andhealth regen was more important than anything else. So he put the last AP into End. Sum Ting Wong Level: 3 Class: Cook 3 AP: 0 Health(/R per hour): 34/56 > 34/78 (-2.1 > 2.4) Mana(/R per hour): 71 > 93 (0.1 > 2.2) Stamina(/R per min): 49/72 > 49/98 (-0.03 > 1.04) Strength: 5 Endurance: 5 > 7 Vitality: 5 > 7 Agility: 5 Dexterity: 7 > 9 Intelligence: 7 Wisdom: 6 > 8 Focus: 4 > 6 Willpower: 2 Charisma: 4 Seeing his health regen had been stabilized, Wong climbed onto his bed and collapsed.Looking up at the ceiling, as long as he could remember this was by far the most dangerous thing that had everhappened to him. Although he waslucky enough to have points that he could use raise his health right now, it would be dangerous if the affliction kept progressing. But for now... Wong was tired and needed to rest and steady his nerve before everything else. ***** Wong''s eyessnapped open. For a moment, he felt dizzy as if he was going through a high-altitude flight. But as he took a sharp breath and orientedhimself, he seemed to feel better. Carefully he stretched his legs, took a few deep breaths. Definitely felt better. Relieved, he threw aside the blanket and sheets and opened his attributes screen. Wong couldn''t help grinning slightly. His health had been increased by a ton and both of his affliction had been reduced to level 2 common cold and level 1 influenza. Knowing this, the first thing that came to Wong''s mind was.... laundry, a mountain of dirty laundry piling up at the corner of his room, andthen refilling his empty fridge... And maybe getting some flu and cold medicine. Snorting, Wong looked to his windows and found the sunlight was no more. This... was probably not the best time to do some laundry. It took another rumbling in his stomach to actually made Wong realized that he hadn''t eaten anything since yesterday. Rubbing his stomach, he could''ve just use level 2 Fast Food, which now would give him twice of the usual amount. Fast Food (Level 2): Focusing your Mana, you create two loaves of bread, two bowl worth of stew, a pound of cheese, four apples, four beef jerkyand 3 litres of water, on the ground or in containers within range. The food is bland but nourishing and spoils if uneaten after 24 hours. The water is clean and doesn''t go bad. Vocal: Not registered. Somatic: Not registered. Cost: 10 Mana. Do you want to use Fast Food 2? >Yes >No Which he supposed was pretty good... except for the fact that increasing Fast Food level didn''t improve its taste at all. Sighing, Wong knew he had made some sort of resolution to not spend a single penny on food expense, but right now, he wascraving for a decentmeal, anything, as long as they had some taste. And after everything that he had been through, he thought he deserved to reward himself with a burger... and maybe ice cream and beer. Gulping down, not really seeing any reason to postpone his journey, Wong started walking, trying to see what restaurant still open. About 20 minutes later,Wong was sittingin a fast food restaurant, exploring his screen thoughtfully, a tray of food was lying in front of him. Two girls around his age were looking at him from the other side, whispering to each other. Deep in his heart, Wong wanted to believe that both of them were talking about what kind of pick up line that they should use, or something like that. Then again, Wong already knew the reason why. After having this blue screen for a week, he believed other people couldn''t see the screen, and in their perspective right now, Wong was waving his finger through the air as if something was wrong with him. But, Wong just ignoredtheir gigglingand continued staring at the status screen, frowning. The rift between reality has been breached, please subjugates 10invaders (goblins) in your surrounding area. 8/10. It seemed that while Wong was sleeping, 7 more invaders or ''goblins'' had been killed by the others. Yes. There were others besides him that knew the existence of those goblins and the status screen, not to mention in they were in his surrounding area, which he supposed, was great. But then again, this only made more questionspinning inWong''s mind. First, just how big his surrounding area was? A whole block? A whole city? A whole country? Second of all, how did he contact them? and what should he say? And lastly, why the hell they gave Wong chocolate ice cream and not the vanilla one? Just how the hell someone could mess up chocolate with vanilla ice cream? With a sigh, noticing that his ice cream had started to melt, Wong finally closed his screen and started nibbling on his hamburger. Congratulations! You have learned a new recipe! Chapter 6: Cooking With XXX (Unedited) Sum Ting Wong was attending a lecture, but thanks to Recipe and level 1 influenza he couldn''t concentrate at all. Recipe (Level 2): Whenever you eat something, you instantly know its ingredient and how to prepare the said food. Max: 20 recipes. Currently: 3/20. You can forget a recipe from your memory by choosing the following option. Do you want to forget a recipe? >Yes >No Burger, ground meat, coke, soda, ice cream, chocolate. Those ingredients kept floating around in his mind all day long. He felt he would go crazy if he didn''t make at least one of them. As soon as the lecture ended, Wong immediately went tothe nearest supermarket, buying several necessary ingredients and headed back to his apartment. Around the time Wong was inside of his room, he immediately put the plastic bag, filled with ground meat and other ingredients and opened his skill screen. Kitchenware (Level 2): Focusing your Mana to create up to 4 Kitchenware of your choice that lasts for one hour. You must know its name, directly seen its shape, and understand its initial function before you are able to summon it. Vocal: Not registered. Somatic: Not registered. Cost: 10 Mana. Do you want to use Kitchenware 2? >Yes >No Normally, he would''ve just clicked on Yes. But there was something that had been bothering Wong''s mind for a little while. This time, rather than clicked Yes, he clicked the Vocal options. Please hold "??" to record the necessary keyword/sound to use Kitchenware. It seemed using Vocal would allow him to use a skill, in this case, Kitchenware without him opening the skill menu. Rubbing his chin, normally Wong would go for something a simple word, like kitchenware for Kitchenware, but the moment before he opened his mouth, Wong held his tongue back. Wouldn''t it become troublesome if every time he said kitchenware a series of kitchenware appeared from out of nowhere? Of course, that might not be the case. But, there was also a high chance he was right. "Hm...." After closing his eyes for some time, an idea struck Wong. He moved his finger toward the microphone symbol and touched it, holding it for a few seconds until the screen changed to a blank screen, with nothing but a straight white line in the middle of it.Reading on Amazon or a pirate site? Registration complete. Without checking the change in Kitchenware screen, Wong instantly tried out the method of using a skill. "Summon Kitchenware." As soon as Wong said that, a portable stove, a cartridge gas, a skillet, and a spatula appeared. And of course, by using this he didn''t need to worry about the gas expense and didn''t need to clean them. A big win for him. Without wasting any second, Wong picked up the ground beef, divided them into four portions, and gently pressed each portion of ground beef into a disk about half an inch thickness. The recipe stated that the thickness was 1-inch, but Wong thought that was a little bit too much meat for a burger, even though he already used the cheapest one around. Weirdly enough, even though the instruction of how to make the patties were playing in Wong''s head as if he was watching a cooking tutorial video, his hand just couldn''t follow the instruction. As such, the patty looked oval and slightly thinner than what he had imagined. Faithfully following every direction, Wong started spreading the butter on the top of the skillet and started heating it. The butter''s rich smell was filling his room, the aroma alone was enough to produce a hunger sensation that came along with his droll. He placed the bun halves cut-side down in theskillet andtoasted them until the surface was golden-brown.But as he did that, he felt a weird sensation, like water flowing from his veins toward his spatula, and the bun was absorbing it. Shrugging his shoulder, Wongmovedthe bun to the plate. He increased the heat to medium-high and keep a careful eye on the pan.As soonas hesaw the first wisp of smoke, thanks to the instruction he knew he was readytocook the burgers. Wong placed the burger patties in the hot pan, leaving a little space between each one. It wasn''t the best meat around but it still gave off a sweet smell. Not to mention,to the increase in his dexterity he found it was a little bit easier for him to slide a spatula under the burgers and flip them to the other side without breaking them apart. But as he did that,he once again felt something was flowing from his veins. And remembered something... Wong opened his skill screen and clicked Nutritional Cooking. Nutritional Cooking (Level 4):Whenever youcook food, you imbue your mana to that food and increase its nutritional value, increasing attributes up to 12. The benefits of this last for 8 hours. Each Nutrition may only be taken once. Though, even though Wong''s food might be full of nutrition, his motion still lacked the speed and precision compared to the cook that cookedthis burger... And the taste. Wong still had a hard time to sprinkle the right amount of salt and pepper, and he knew the creator cooked the patties for 6 minutes and spent another 17 seconds to take them out in and transfer them to the toasted buns, while Wong spent almost anotherminute to do that. Finishing the burger by putting on the toppings, Wong started to nibblethem. He supposed it tasted a bit different from what he remembered, then again, he realized he had sprinkled the salt a little bit too much. Either way, after finishing one burger, Wong opened his attributes menu, checking was there any change to his attributes. Sum Ting Wong Level: 3 Class: Cook 3 AP: 0 Health(/R per hour):78 > 90 (2.4 > 4.46) Mana(/R per hour): 83/93 (2.2 > 9.9) Stamina(/R per min): 98 > 109 (1.04 > 2.71) Strength: 5 > 7 Endurance: 7 > 8 Vitality: 7 > 8 Agility: 5 Dexterity: 9 Intelligence: 7 Wisdom: 8 Focus: 6 Willpower: 2 Charisma: 4 Sure enough, his attributes had been increased by 4 in total. Which, he supposed was still good if he compared it to his attributes. And with the increase in his Stamina, Wong thought this would be a good time for him to start doing laundry. Wong went toward the mountain of dirty laundry, moving them from the basket bin to a laundry bag... But as he did that.... Quest "Invaders (Goblins) subjugation" has completed.
