《Dawn Of Dragons》 Reincarnation - 1.1 Jonathan looked around at the destruction around him. Giant creatures that were more powerful than anything he had ever seen roamed the skies. Different colors of fire came out of their mouths as their eyes caused fear and shock in the eyes of everyone. There was no order whatsoever. Screams erupted from everyone as they pushed to get out of the range of the fire. But, it was no use. The fire spread far and wide and killed everything in its path or range. Even the shockwave was enough to kill any normal person. The sky had a red color as an evil aura pressed out of it. More screams erupted as lightning struck down killing more people. No matter how strong anyone was they were all destroyed by the lightning. But some still had hope. For there was one of the Five Great Rulers fighting for their lives. Heene Smith urgently shot arrows out of his bow. Each arrow would cause massive destruction wherever they were shot. WHOOSH~ As quick as lightning four heaven-defying arrows were shot out of his bow. But as they landed on the dragon''s skin, the arrows were completely destroyed. The eyes of many opened with shock as they continued to run and scream. Heene only smiled at the dragon as he already knew his fate along with the others running, there was no escape. He looked up at the sky and decided he would at least try to take down the one that caused all of this. With a loud shout, Heene loaded up his bow and arrow and infused all of his power into it, "HAAAAAA!" "Golden Streak!" BOOM~ A golden arrow flew out of the bow aiming for the sky. The brightness of the arrow scared off the closest dragon to it. Soon the single arrow turned into a massive arrow that would pierce the sky. CLANK~ But, it didn''t. Before it would touch the sky a giant black hand came out of the sky completely blocking the arrow and destroying it. Heene stared up at the hand in shock and fear. Its power was scarier than all the dragons combined. He only laughed as the craze began to engulf him. The land swiftly swooshed down to Heene, destroying his body as everything around it as if it was nothing. But it was gone as quickly as it came and the dragons went back to their usual business destroying everything in their path.If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. Jonathan witnessed all of this and knew there was no escape. Instead of running away from the dragon''s breath he stood his ground and let death approach him. ..... "Ah!" Jonathan opened his eyes as he felt a sharp pain from his back. He was surprised because he found himself laying down on a bed. He wore pajamas as confusion struck him. He remembered that he had clearly died. Why was he alive laying down on his bed? Jonathan quickly got up and looked around and found his phone. He quickly checked the time in hopes of figuring what the date and time were. Shock struck his face as he realized it was exactly one hour before the world would go through its supposed change. But Jonathan did not panic. He had gone through so much. It wasn''t rare to have to adapt to a struggle during battle, even for a middle tier like Jonathan. He knew that this was a chance. A chance to start over and grow to new heights and potentially save the world. The thought of being able to save the world made Jonathan snicker. It was something he would never be able to even think before. Now, if he tried hard enough, the chances were above 0% at least. His first course of actions was to get materials to prepare for the Trial Zone. Jonathan remembered the Trial Zone clearly. It was the moment everything changed. The moon would become a red color and animals would begin to mutate. The world... would in a way begin to evolve. The air would be invaded with magic and its purity would increase. Humans were able to survive because of the introduction of the System. From the moment everything changed a system would be accessible for everyone. It was only after a full day of fighting and confusion that someone was able to understand and use the system. From that point on humans began to win the battle between monsters. But the system wasn''t the only newly accessible tool that was available for use. Although it allowed humans to gain inhumane strength and speeds it was only a portion of the true power humans would be able to wield. Skills and Accessories became the foothold of the new world. They appeared in random locations and with random requirements so nobody was able to abuse skills or accessories. Some accessories from before the change would become great tools that could be used to fight monsters, but the chances of that happening were extremely low. Jonathan quickly left his dorm room and walked to a convenience store nearby. He bought some food to go and necessities to make sure he survived. But there was one problem that Jonathan realized, "I don''t have a suitable weapon to fight monsters..." He had amassed great items before his reincarnation. If they were still with him, any monster that appeared from the Trial Zone could be destroyed with a single hit. Jonathan let out a sigh as he thought about his weapons and his past prospects. Although he wasn''t a high up official or someone with insane strength, he was incredibly strong for a middle tier and he took pride in that. But he was struggling to forget all of that. He had to struggle to remember that he was no different from an ordinary human at this point. A thought flashed through his mind as he realized something... An hour quickly passed and Jonathan waited outside of his room for everything to begin. He had his backpack strapped to his back. Everything he needed was packed in it. He looked like was going on a trip. Jonathan looked up to see the moon in the sky change. At the time he expected it the moon began to grow. A red light radiated around it. A deep aura of destruction flashed throughout the entire world as the move began moving. A red light flashed down and passed through the entire world. Despite having already been through this once Jonathan was still fearful. This was his one and only chance to make things better. His one chance to fix it all. Abnormal Stats - 1.2 Jonathan watched as the moon flashed around the world with its red light of destruction. Despite the fear he held his ground. The world began to go through changes. Trees were swaying abnormally and pets were beginning to evolve into ferocious beasts. Jonathan, on the other hand, was prepared. He dashed towards the woods as fast as he could as he avoided every mutating monster. When he reached the woods he made sure it was safe and let out a breath. As he arrived there he thought to check his stats. "Might as well see them to know what I gotta deal with..." Before he even checked them Jonathan knew that it wasn''t going to be anything impressive. He was nothing more than any one of the humans running away from their homes in fear. Or the humans calling the police in hopes of getting some assurance. Or even the ones that were already dead. Just thinking about it left a bitter taste in his mouth. If he thought too highly of himself it would lead to his death. The only way to counter this was to think of himself as nothing more than a normal human. Without expecting anything Jonathan brought up his middle finger to his forehead and called out, "Status, Open!" WOOM~ A blue light shined brightly as a screen appeared in front of his face. -Jonathan Reed''s Status- Level - 0% Strength - 2% Agility - 3% Constitution - 3% Magic - 0% Spirit - (Copper) 45% - Skills - N/A Assessment: E+ Jonathan stared at his stats in shock. Although his strength, agility, and constitution were all at the level he expected, the thing that was off was his spirit level. All stats were split into certain levels the first level was the unnamed level that all humans started off. Once the stat reaches 100% in the unnamed level they would move on to the Stone level. Which was followed by the Copper level, then the Iron level, the Silver level, the Gold level, and the Diamond level. The difficulty of increasing by 1% in any level above the unnamed level was widely recognized. Players would have to kill monsters and utilize their cores to raise any stat. The other way to raise it was by raising your level. But even that was incredibly hard. Levels were split into the same realms. Nobody had ever gone past the Diamond level so it remained a mystery to even Jonathan.Support the author by searching for the original publication of this novel. Because of how hard it was to level up many gave up on levels and began to focus solely on skills, accessories, and stats to show their power. It wasn''t uncommon to see insanely strong people who were technically at the Copper level. But what most didn''t realize until about a year before the dragons came, was that the higher one leveled up the easier it was to increase stats. But at that point, it was already too late for humanity to try and fix its mistakes. But with this knowledge, Jonathan was confident he would be able to change the fate of the world. Nonetheless, Jonathan was still surprised. His spirit level was much higher than when he had first started. Although it was a whole level weaker in comparison to before his death it was incredibly high for a beginner. Jonathan racked his brain to try and understand why his Spirit level was so high. Realization hit him hard! His spirit and soul was still the same from before his reincarnation. Which meant that his Spirit level would naturally be higher than most people''s because he had more experiences. A smile appeared on Jonathan''s face. Each stat was incredibly important. Having a boost like this was slightly overpowered. It would allow him to have a clear mind and some skills would require certain stat levels to use. But Jonathan''s first order of business was to find a skill or accessory. There was no way for him to survive with his strength out here. This was the second part of Jonathan''s plan. A loophole. Every animal and substance in the world would go through an evolution. Yes, EVERYTHING. Every bug, plant, and even trees would evolve. Although their cores had weak magical energy it would be useful for Jonathan as he was incredibly weak. He ventured further into the forest. About thirty minutes in Jonathan found an open area just about big enough for a tent. He placed his bag down and took out a tent that was a bit smaller than the open area. As he set up the tent Jonathan looked around to make sure no animals were nearby. Because of his Spirit level, he was able to concentrate intensely. His intuition was also almost always on point. Jonathan has the confidence to be safe and even if he was in danger he would be able to safely get out of it. ..... Inside the tent, Jonathan was going through his bag. At the bottom were two knives he had packed. He carefully took them out with caution. He placed each of them in a pocket and packed up. Jonathan marked off this place as his "base" and quickly exited the tent. It had been about an hour since the moon began scanning through the world with its redness. It was only the Trial Zone but if one underestimated it they would die the moment they did. Leaving the forest Jonathan was greeted with a scary sight. There was blood everywhere. Bodies were on the floor as policeman caught against mutated dogs. These dogs couldn''t use skills but their strength was too high for anyone currently there to fight it head-on. Jonathan snuck by and arrived at the location of a dead policeman. BANG~ BANG~ BANG~ Gunshots rang loudly as the mutated dogs only expressed more anger at their wounds. It was unlikely the policemen would be able to kill any of them if they didn''t hit any vital points. Jonathan grabbed the dead mans gun and ran with his head low. These dogs were known as Iron Fang Dogs because of the strength of their teeth and speed. But they had a fatal weakness, their tongues were the most sensitive part of their body. Using this knowledge Jonathan hid far enough away and waited for the Iron Fang Dogs to finish off the policemen. He had already acknowledged the fact that many sacrifices had to be made to reach his ultimate goal of saving the world from its destruction. These policemen would be the first. Their deaths would be a great way to distract the Dogs while they were eating and shoot their tongues. Looking at them Jonathan let out a breath. He held his arms up in a praying position and spoke with blank eyes, "Thank you for your sacrifice." First Battle - 1.3 Jonathan let out a breath as he watched the policemen fall prey to the Iron Fang Dogs. As the final one died the Iron Fang Dogs began to feed on the dead bodies. Because of their sensitive tongues, they had a habit of coating their mouths with saliva while they ate. This led to them leaving their mouths open as they ate. Jonathan realized this was the perfect opportunity for him. He held the gun in his hand up high at the closest Iron Fang Dog. Because it was facing him it was an easy shot. The monster gobbled down the bodies near it as if it was nothing. The gun in Jonathan''s hand aimed directly at the dog''s mouth and shot. BANG~ BANG~ Two shots rang out about a single second apart from each other. Both bullets hit the Iron Fang Dog in its tongue. Its screams were filled with rage. The hardest part was finished. All Jonathan had to do now was shoot it a few more times and the dog would be dead. The remaining three Iron Fang Dogs saw what happened but didn''t know the reason as to why. Their instinct was split on running or waiting for the other dog to die so they could eat it. One of them still had their mouth open as it had just finished eating. Jonathan aimed at this Iron Fang Dog''s tongue and two more shots rang out. BANG~ BANG~ The dog fell to the ground in pain. Its screams were just as loud as the other Iron Fang Dog laying on the floor. The remaining Iron Fang Dogs finally got the message and ran far behind a couple of houses. Jonathan let out a sigh as the pressure on him was lowered. He now only had to deal with two injured Iron Fang Dogs. He slowly took aim at the first Iron Fang Dog and... BANG~ BANG~ It let out another scream as it was shot in its mouth two more times. The dog began to scream even louder as blood began to glow out of its mouth. It would die soon. With that Jonathan aimed at the second Iron Fang Dog and did the same. BANG~ BANG~ Both dogs were in horrible agony and would soon die. After about five minutes Jonathan walked out from behind the tree. He began to approach the dead dogs. An intense fear suddenly hit him, something was wrong. He quickly followed his instinct and jumped backwards. As he did one of the Iron Fang Dogs that had run away suddenly jumped in front of him. This tale has been unlawfully lifted without the author''s consent. Report any appearances on Amazon. WHOOSH~ "Shit!" It waited for the attacker to come out before going back. Jonathan scolded himself as he should have realized that these creatures were not intelligent species. They only did what their instinct told them. Food was above all else. The other iron Fang Dog loomed in the background as the one closest to Jonathan ran forward again in an attempt to bite him. But Jonathans Spirit helped him dodge again. He quickly jumped to the left. He aimed towards the dog''s mouth and shot. BANG~ The bullet was lodged in its mouth as the Fangs destroyed protected its tongue. Jonathan knew he was in a desperate situation. If he didn''t do something soon it would probably mean his death. The Iron Fang Dog slowly approached Jonathan as if waiting for an opening. There was only the sounds of the dog in front of him growling as if it had already won. It jumped towards Jonathan in a large leap. This was an opportunity for him. Just as the Iron Fang Dog reached him two shots rang out. BANG~ BANG~ Jonathan and the dog both flew back several feet. The dog began to scream in pain and in anger. Although one of the bullets missed the other was stuck inside of its tongue. Jonathan sighed deeply. The Iron Fang Dog was down, but he also sustained an injury. A large scratch wound started to bleed from his chest. "Fuck!" The pain was almost unbearable. But Jonathan has used his Spirit stat level to try and avoid the pain. He stood up and found that his gun was now under the Iron Fang Dog that he had just shot. "Fuck! These pieces of shits also ate the other guns too?" The only weapon he had left now were the two knives packs in his pockets. It was quite obvious Jonathan couldn''t kill the remaining Iron Fang Dogs with two knives without risking his own life. He slowly approached the last one he had shot and took out his knives. A deep stab into the dog had killed it. But he wasn''t done there. He kept on stabbing until the knife hit something hard. Smiling Jonathan stuck his hand down the bloody dog''s body and pulled out a glowing pearl. The pearl was enclosed in Jonathan''s hand as he crushed it lightly. The light shines over his body for only a moment before disappearing. "Hope my first Stat Pearl is good!" A voice sounded out inside his head, "Your strength stat has increased by 2%!" In that same instant, Jonathan felt his body become stronger. He felt full of energy, but now was not the time to get excited about stats. He reached for the gun underneath the dead dog and pulled it out. He looked for the remaining Iron Fang Dog but it was nowhere to be found. Feeling uneasy Jonathan began to move towards the street to get into a more open space. While doing so he took the Stat Pearls out of the other dead Iron Fang Dogs. But instead of using them Jonathan saved them within his status, "Agility and Constitution, nice!" He stood on the street looking around, waiting for something to appear in this apocalyptic world. He was able to see the destruction one hour had caused to the world. It was disgusting. But Jonathan only scoffed at the sight. Standing there he was alone. The wind blew in his face as he waited for something to come and attack him. Yet nothing came. The Iron Fang Dog was already long gone. But Jonathan stood his ground. He would be prepared for anything. He already promised himself that this time around, mistakes would not be made. Incredible Power - 1.4 A whole day had already passed and Jonathan was within his tent. He checked his stats once more to confirm them before he decided on what he would do next. -Jonathan Reed''s Status- Level - 8% [+8%] Strength - 4% [+2%] Agility - 5% [+2%] Constitution - 4% [+1%] Magic - 0% Spirit - (Copper) 45% - Skills - N/A Assessment: E+ His stats had grown quite a bit from where they had been the last time he checked them. But now Jonathan was stuck. He only managed to defeat the Iron Fang Dogs because of the gun and a bit of luck. His only option was to wait for most of the plants to evolve and start harvesting them to level up and get better stats. Another hour passed and Jonathan could not wait any longer. He exited the tent and went deeper into the woods he had barricaded himself in. He was looking for something. Any signs of evolution would be enough for him. "I need to get stronger, quicker!" He thought. Several minutes of searching passed and one plant started to show signs of movement. It glowed a light green color. Soon many other plants and trees showed the same reaction. It was time! Jonathan brought out the two knives he had and began cutting down the plants one by one. Everything died. Soon the floor was littered with smaller versions of the stones the Iron Fang Dogs had dropped. After he became tired of all the cutting Jonathan picked up several of them and instead of using them he tried something else, "Store." Instantly a robotic voice along with a screen appeared in front of him: [Storing 298 Status Pearls] [You have now consumed 298 slots out of 500 within your inventory.] It worked exactly as Jonathan expected it to work. All of the pearls were stored in his inventory and now he could use them much easier and at whatever time he wanted. He started by getting out 10 Status Pearls and used them all: [Strength has been increased by 0.5%] [Agility has been increased by 0.9%] [Strength has been increased by 0.8%] [Strength has been increased by 1.2%] [Spirit has been increased by 0.001%] [Number too small to increase...converting into suitable reward. Report any sightings. Although these numbers were small Jonathan was mesmerized by the sight. He unlocked a hidden stat and got 1% added to his magic stat! This was a great outcome for him. Once again Jonathan checked his stats to see the change. -Jonathan Reed''s Status- Level - 8% Strength - 7.5% [+3.5%] Agility - 6.9% [+1.9%] Constitution - 4.8% [+0.8%] Magic - 1% [+1%] Spirit - (Copper) 45% Intelligence - 0.1% [+0.1%] - Skills - N/A Assessment: E+ As soon as he did so Jonathan began to feel the changes within his body. He felt the strength flowing in. His body was adjusting to the power and it felt great to him. Although it wasn''t much, it was much higher than what the average human had. And it was coming in so fast. After a few seconds, the feeling vanished completely and Jonathan brought out ten more pearls. He did this over and over again until he had used up all of the pearls. Checking his stats again Jonathan smirked at the change. -Jonathan Reed''s Status- Level - 8% Strength - 29.3% [+21.8%] Agility - 32.1% [+25.2%] Constitution - 22% [+17.2%] Magic - 6.2% [+5.2%] Spirit - (Copper) 45% Intelligence - 4.1% [+4%] - Skills - N/A Assessment: E+ Jonathan was sure he was, as of right now, one of the strongest humans. He also knew that he wouldn''t be able to continuously use this method to increase his stats. As one stats increases in becomes harder to increase it. He the same amount of plants would probably give him much less stats than he had gotten. So he chose to stop. Despite the increases Jonathan still felt incomplete. He failed to get one of the most essential stats: Perception. He needed to be extra careful until he got that stat. His spirit would be all he had to help himself until then. He quietly walked back to his tent and ate some food before going back out onto the streets. It was time to test his power. Just as he was about to search for a creature something a notification made him stop dead in his tracks. [The God of Tatctics is interested in you.] Instantly Jonathan felt like tens of thousands of eyes were watching him from a place he could not reach. A mix of fear and anger washed over him. These were God''s that had immeasurable power. But at the same time they were the ones who watched the human race get wiped out by the monsters. He quickly suppressed his emotions and began walking again in hopes of finding another monster. But it wasn''t too hard. A large dog growled at him as it slowly closed in on him. It was an Iron Fang Dog. "Perfect!" Jonathan thought. It was the best target to test his new abilities on. He held the knives in an attacking position and ran for the Dog with incredible speed. The Iron Fang Dog''s speed couldn''t compare to Jonathan''s. In a moment he was in front of the dog and its claw came crashing down. But it was too slow. Jonathan dodged the attack and aimed for the dogs neck. He put all his strength into this attack. Instantly the knife reached the dogs neck and it''s head was cut off cleanly. Even Jonathan was surprised at this display of power. He reached a level beyond his expectations. The Iron Fang Dog''s body fell to the ground as Jonathan retrieved its pearl. [Your Constitution has been increasd by 2%] A monster that could put his life in danger a day earlier was now no chance for him. He was confident in his ability to fight at least 3 of them without losing. Now all Jonathan could do was wait until the Trial Zone advanced to its next stage. He began his movement. If he worked hard enough he would be able to reach at least 50% in all of his common stats by the end of the first stage of the Trial Zone. Determined Jonathan began working his hardest by killing monsters and gaining levels as well as stats. Zone of Time - 1.5 A week constant fighting was how Jonathan spent his entire week. He was proud of the growth he had made. He was confident his growth made him ready enough for the second phase of the Trial Zone. Just as Jonathan was thinking about the Trial Zone he got a notification. The same old screen appeared in his face while also talking directly into his mind: [Congradulations on passing the first test! You have met the requirements to move on to the second phase of the Trial Zone!] [Mission: Use the ''Map'' function and move within the parameters of the red dot.] [Time Limit: 24 hours] [Reward: Additional System Features] [Failure: Death] Jonathan knew this mission very well. He recalled how those who didn''t make it to the "center" died. They didn''t die in a normal way. They instead mutated and became monsters. Just thinking about it made him shiver. But he also knew of a hidden feature of the mission. You would get better rewards for getting there faster than others. Jonathan ran as fast as he could to his tent and gathered everything he needed in there. He was only able to find a few items he needed. The rest of it went to waste as it would be simply left there. Once he was packed Jonathan put everything in his inventory and began towards the location he needed to reach. He estimated it would take him about fifteen minutes to reach it. ---- On the way there Jonathan spotted several groups of people. He was able to escape interactions with all of them. But it was enough for him to tell that the state of the world was nothing good. Everyone was treated the same nobody was exempt from the rules. If they did not make it to the red dot in time they would die and horrible death after becoming a mutated monster. It was a fate nobody wanted even if they didn''t know the full extent of it. Jonathan simply watched the people interactions. They were already changing. Many attacks occurred and disregard for the laws was apparent everywhere. Seeing the state of the world made Jonathan wonder what would happen after his job was done. How would things go back to what they knew as "normal" when he was done saving the world. But his thoughts were cut short because he was now within the parameters of the red dot. [Mission Complete!] [You are the third human to reach the area titled the "red dot". Report any sightings.[Reward 1: Skill - Fireball] [Reward 2: Weapon - Basic Shortsword] [Reward 3: Stats - Increase Agility by 5%] All of the rewards were enticing to Jonathan. But there was one thing he needed the most, a weapon. With a bit of haste, Jonathan tapped on the second option presented to him. The floating screen before his eyes began to emit a bright light as a ''ding'' sounded in his head. Suddenly a package flew out of the screen and fell to the ground. But Jonathan didn''t have to do anything as the package opened itself and a weapon looked to be made out of iron flew out of the package. As quickly as it came it disappeared and a notification told Jonathan where it had gone. [Item ''Basic Shortsword'' has been added to your inventory.] After confirming the shortsword was in his inventory Jonathan took a glance at where he was. It was a region that lacked normality. It had already gone through a change. The once standing buildings were all either in a half standing state or completely fallen. But in its place were magnificent statues. Each was massive but also very dirty. One statue depicted a dragon that seemed to be going on a rampage. He continued walking until he reached astadium that looked like an arena. As he looked around two people were already seated within the stadium. "These must be the ones who got here first." He thought. One of them was a young woman. She looked to be around 15-17 years old. Nothing stood out about her. She coldly glanced over to Jonathan as he was looking at her. The other was a tall man. He was probably around 6 feet tall. Hewas reading a book. He quickly glanced over at Jonathan before dismissing him entirely. "Seems like they''re not in the mood to talk..." The two to fist arrive were in no way ready to talk to Jonathan. They were probably wary of him, "Maybe even wary of each other!" He looked around and chose a seat that was in between the tall man and the girl with an attitude. Jonathan pulled out a book he carried with him inside his inventory and began reading. The threesat there each engaging in their own activities. ---- After about twenty minutes of silence, other people started to arrive one by one. Occasionally there would be large groups arriving. Soon there was a large number of people in the stadium. A full day passed just like that and exactly after twenty-four hours, a loud sound rang in everyone''s head. The system was back: [Twenty four hours has passed and you all have made it to the ''''red dot'' which can also be referred to as the "Zone of Time"!] [As promised all of you will be rewarded for your efforts!] [Reward: Access to the ''Shop'' function! You may now sell your items among other players and buy items within the shop that you cannot get anywhere else! Your unused ''Stat Pearls'' are the main currency.] By now everyone knew about the system and the importance of Stat Pearls. The news shocked all of them. It would make surviving several times easier. Jonathan, on the other hand, simply looked around at the reactions on peoples faces, "They are already adapting." Just like the first time around everyone learned to accept their situation and were already falling for its tricks and hailing the System as a God. The system continued to speak in everyone''s head and expressions of happiness were expressed in everyone''s face. They were finally able to know what was going on. They had a chance to survive. It gave them an assurance that they could get out of their current situation. However, "All of that will be lost when they hear the next thing it says." Letting out a sigh, Jonathan got up from his seat pulled out his new weapon and waited for the system to speak again. Those close to him looked to him strangely. But he paid no heed to their stares. Then the words that would ruin everyone''s perception of the system were spoken: [Mission: Kill 5 humans and escape the ''Zone of Time''!]
