《Paw Patrol: The mystery pup》


 Prologue

    The cloaked figures of a human and a dog with a pup pack silently sneaked down a metal corridor, hoping to avoid detection as long as possible.


    Dog: "How much further? They will find us soon, and if that happens, all is lost." She whispered to the human.


    Human: "I know, we don''t have much further to go. We''ll get there in a few minutes." He whispered back.


    ???: "Oh I wouldn''t say that." A new voice said from behind them.


    The pair turned around sharply and saw the outline of another human in the shadows. The man stepped out of the shadows, revealing a strong, regal face with a sharp nose, piercing blue eyes, a strong chin, and a rather fancy haircut(just imagine what haircut you think he should have, doesn''t matter to me or the story). He was almost 7 feet in height, with a strong build with a broad chest and muscular arms and legs. He was dressed in an impressive looking set of armor that seemed to suck in the light around it, it was elegantly carved with spikes jutting out of the shoulders, elbows, and knees. The helmet had two spikes jutting out that were about 7 inches long, and the faceplate was a blood red face with wicked sharp looking teeth. The two knew that they couldn''t defeat this man, for this armor was made out of the strongest metal in the known universe, an altered version of vibranium that combined it with tungsten, adamantium, and the heart of a dying neutron star (I didn''t know what to name this, leave some suggestion in the comments please, also, I don''t own the metals from the marvel universe, they all belong to the creators of the franchise). It could survive a direct hit from a photon laser, and protect the person wearing it as well. They also had no doubt that the whole suit had padded cushioning on the inside and probably an air conditioner for comfort, knowing the man wearing it.


    Human: :Jasiri! Get to the ship, I''ll hold him off." He told his companion.


    Jasiri: "NO! I won''t let you do that Kulinda!" She yelled stubbornly.


    ???: "Oh jasiri, brave as ever. Though there is a line between bravery and stupidity, which are you I wonder, how about we find out?" He said with an evil glee.


    He pulled out a blaster, a sleek and black model about the size of an AK-47, and aimed it at her. He pulled the trigger, and Kulinda jumped in front of the laser that fired from the barrel. The laser hit him in the stomach, and he collapsed to the floor, groaning in pain.


    Jasiri: "Kulinda!!" She cried out and rushed to his side, quickly firing a blaster of her own from a pack on her back(like the ones the paw patrol has) at the man, who shrugged it off.


    SHe quickly dragged Kulinda down the hallway and around the corner. Kulinda clenched his teeth in pain, but forced himself to his feet. He pulled out his own weapon, a blaster looking weapon that instead of lasers, it shot waves of kinetic force. He turned to Jasiri, who wanted to help, but she knew what Kulinda was going to do, as much as she hated it.


    Kulinda: "Go Jasiri, save yourself, protect the key. Don''t let it fall into his hands, he could destroy everything if he gets it." He told her.


    Jasiri: "No Kulinda! I won''t let you-LOOK OUT!" She yells and tackles him, just in time as another shot from the man whizzed past where Kulinda''s head had been a second before.


    Kulinda quickly fired at the man, the kinetic force of the shot causing him to stumble backwards. He glared at them from behind his mask, and aimed again, just to get blasted again and knocked off balance, throwing off his next shot. Kulinda turned to Jasiri, who was surprised to see tears in his eyes.


    Kulinda: "Go, I''ll keep him distracted, you rget to safety, keep the key away from him, or nothing will be able to stop him. I know this is hard for you but this is for the greater good." He told her with a slightly saddened, but determined tone.


    Jasiri hesitated, then another shot from the man whizzed past her head.


    Kulinda: "GO!!" He yelled, returning fire with his blaster.


    Jasiri turned and ran, feeling terrible for leaving him behind and running like a coward. She heard more shots being exchanged, but she ignored them and kept running, determined not to let Kulinda''s sacrifice be in vain. She saw the end of the hallway and sprinted to it, and entered a hangar with all kinds of spaceships and several exits and entrances for said ships. There were small and sleek fighters, large and bulky transports, even a few huge warships with reflective armor and large guns and cannons. She sprinted to an empty spot nearby, it was a clear area about 80 feet wide in all directions.


    Jasiri: "*bark bark* Ship activate." She yelled.


    Suddenly, a fairly large ship appeared, it was sleek, with several automatic laser turrets throughout it, covering any possible angle, along with two main cannons, one facing the back and the other the front. These were rail guns with enough power to destroy a medium sized warship. It also had reflective armor about a foot thick, enough to protect against all small arms fire and some heavy weaponry. It was basically a hybrid between a medium sized warship and a fighter. A ramp lowered, allowing her access to the ship, but before she could take a step forward, she was knocked to the ground. She quickly recovered and rolled to the side, just in time as a laser blast hit the spot where she had just been. She stood and faced her attacker, and mentally cursed when she saw who it was. It was a fully grown male dog that was half German Shepard, and half wolf, with pitch black fur and emerald green eyes. He also had a pup pack(I decided to call it that since a dog pack doesn''t have the same ring to it of his own, which had a blaster arm sticking out of it, aiming directly at her. She got into a defensive position and waited for the next attack.


    Jasiri: "Out of my way Mayaba!" She yelled at the hybrid, who just laughed at her.


    Mayaba: "But Jasiri, I just got here! Don''t you want to stay and have a chat?" He asked in a fake hurt tone.


    Jasiri: "As a matter of fact, I don''t, now move, or I''ll make you move." She threatened, though she knew deep down that the only way out of this was to trick him and get to the ship.


    Mayaba: "Bold talk Jasiri, but you and I both know you can''t defeat me." He mocked.


    Jasiri: "Maybe, maybe not, but I''ve outsmarted you before, and I will do it again!" She yelled and charged him.


    Mayaba was surprised by this, usually she would try to flank and go for his blind spots, but this head on charge was so out of character for her that she was able to reach him before he could react. Then she did something else unexpected, she leaped into the air, and he instinctively aimed his blaster upward, expecting her to leap over him and get to the ship. Instead, she tackled him to the ground, then leapt off him and ran up the ramp of the ship.

    Mayaba: "NO!!!" He yelled with fury.


    Jasiri quickly entered the cockpit, and activated the controls, and the thrusters turned down to move the ship off the ground. When the thrusters activated, the wind from it pushed Mayaba into a wall, and pinned him. He started to struggle through it, and began to move toward a nearby fighter. He reached it just as Jasiri took off, and entered the cockpit. She noticed this and aimed the turrets at it, and fired them all simultaneously. The fighter resisted the shots for a few second, then she released a missile at it. Mayaba, seeing the missile, hit the ejection button and the seat shot about 30 feet high. The missile hit the fighter and a large fireball erupted from it. Jasiri turned the ship and shot through one of the exits. She exited into space, and put the engines on full throttle, and she shot away from the large space station that she had been in. She breathed a sigh of relief, she had escaped. Then her thoughts turned to Kulinda, and she began to cry.


    Jasiri: "Why Kulinda? Why did this have to happen to you of all people?" She sobbed quietly.


    After a few minutes, she managed to regain her composure and starting working the controls, preparing the ship to make a hyper jump. She heard the unmistakable hum from the hyper drive as it began charging, but then she heard something else, a sound that seemed slightly familiar, yet she couldn''t recognize it. She put the ship on auto pilot and went to investigate. The noise led her to the back of the ship, near the engines, and she put her ear to the door of the engine room, but couldn''t hear anything. Suddenly, she heard a thud, and a siren began blaring.


    Warning: hull breach detected in the engine room.The computer said.


    Jasiri was surprised by this, then suddenly, the alarm turned off.


    Hull breach sealed.The computer said.


    Jasiri was now even more confusedHow did- Her thoughts were interrupted by the door slamming open, and she moved to avoid getting hit. Standing there in a full space suit was Mayaba, and he looked very angry. ( The spacesuit is black and more or less skin tight, not like the bulky ones we have.)


    Intruder detected.The computer stated.


    Jasiri (in head)Thanks, didn''t know that. She thought sarcastically.


    Myaba''s helmet retracted back into the rest of his suit.


    Mayaba: "You have been a thorn in my side for too long Jasiri, now you die." He said with evil glee.


    Jasiri: "But how did you even get on the ship?" She asked.


    Mayaba: "When the seat ejected out of the fighter, I jumped out and landed on the ship. I activated my gravity lock boots and space suit to hold on, then I used my vibranium saw to cut through the armor, then I used a sealant to close the hole." He explained.


    Jasiri had to admit, Mayaba was resourceful and clever, and it was a miracle that she hadn''t been killed or captured by him yet. She ran to the cockpit of the ship, because it had a door that would be able to resist anything Mayaba could throw at it, plus she needed to make the hyper jump before the drive overloaded, if it did, the results wouldn''t be pretty. Mayaba gave chase, his space suit retracting into his pup pack.


    Mayaba: "*bark bark* Lasers!" He shouted.


    Two laser blasters came out of his pup pack, and began firing at her. She swerved from the left to the right and dodged a few blasts, but then one grazed her side, and the pain almost made her lose her balance. Another shot hit her right in her left hind leg, leaving a hole that went to the bone, which was also burnt slightly. The skin around the wound was also badly burnt, and the fur was charred, but she ignored the pain and kept running. She made a sharp turn around a corner and avoided another laser, then she pulled out her own blasters, one was a kinetic one like Kulinda''s and the other was a normal blaster, but more rapid fire(the others being used so far are all semi-automatic), though more inaccurate as well. She turned and blasted Mayaba with the kinetic one just as he turned the corner, knocking him to the ground, and aimed the laser blaster at him.


    Mayaba: "*bark bark* Armor!" He yelled upon seeing the laser aiming at him.


    In a split second, his armor formed around him(similar to how the Iron Man suit forms around Tony in Iron Man 2). It was made out of vibranium and titanium, not as strong as the man''s armor, but still very tough. The mask was the last part to cover him, and it snapped into place just as a laser blast would have hit him in the face. The eyes began to glow red as the suit activated. He aimed his paw at her, which began to glow red(again, this is like the Iron Man suit, with thrusters in the hands, or paw in this case, and lasers that shoot out of the paws). Jasiri dodged the laser blast, which left a small hole in the side of the ship, not going all the way through, but still going one or two inches through the armor. She ran past him, and into the cockpit of the ship. She tried to close the door, but Mayaba was faster, and he tackled the door open, knocking Jasiri into the control panel, accidentally causing the system to lock onto a certain set of coordinates that had been saved into the system a long time ago by Kulinda. Neither of them noticed this however, and Mayaba tackled her again, and they began to wrestle, Mayaba easily overpowering her, but she kept slipping out of his grasp and using her kinetic blaster to knock him away. Then he was knocked into the control panel, accidentally pressing the hyper jump button.


    Hyper jump initiated.The computer stated.


    They both froze and stared at each other in horror, as the ship hadn''t been properly prepared for a hyper jump and neither of them were fastened in for it. Before anything else could happen, the ship made the jump. Everything went white, and then there was nothing. Jasiri woke up and found herself still in the cockpit of the ship, at first she was relieved, but then she looked around, and gasped. The entire cockpit was in tatters, the controls fried and sparking, the door ripped of it''s hinges, and wires and metal scraps were everywhere. Then she saw Mayaba still in his suit and laying on the ground next to her. She quickly tried to move away from him, and looked out of the cockpit window. Outside was a beautiful planet that was largely blue but with several large landmasses, though they didn''t seem to have a lot of green, with a few exceptions. Then she realized that the was moving toward it at high speeds, and close to entering the atmosphere. She knew the ship would never survive the entry so she began moving towards the escape pods, but stopped and looked at Mayaba. He had done some terrible things in the past, and had tried to kill her on countless occasions, but she couldn''t leave him here to die. Sighing, she picked him up and carried him the escape pods, all he while struggling to keep her balance in the wreckage on the floor, especially with her injuries. The hyper jump had made all of her previous injuries even worse, and she felt like she had a broken paw, not to mention the unfiltered radiation from the hyper jump that was undoubtedly throughout the ship. She finally made it and put Mayaba into one, closed it and sent it off toward the planet. The escape pods could survive entry into a planet this size, or so she hoped. She was about to enter the other one, but then the ship shook violently with an explosion, and she was thrown into the wall.


    Hull breach detected.The computer said in a static filled voice.


    Jasiri decided that it would be worthwhile to save the computer so she crawled to the far wall and pressed her paw to a screen on the wall, and the wall opened to reveal a spherical device, and she grabbed it and put it in her pup pack. Then she struggled to the escape pod and entered it just as another explosion rocked the ship. The door closed, and the pod ejected from the ship it''s thrusters carrying it away from the doomed ship, her home. She and Kulinda had lived their for years, now she had to abandon it. She cried as she watched it enter the atmosphere, and it became engulfed in a fire ball and exited her view. Sighing, she took manual control of the pod, and steered it into the atmosphere of the planet. But upon entry, something hit her pod, it wasn''t anything big, only a foot wide at most, but it hit one of the thrusters and caused the whole pod to go into an uncontrollable spin. She began to panic as she struggled to balance out the ship again, to no avail and things were getting worse as the planets atmosphere began to engulf the whole pod in a fire ball. As she rapidly descended, she tried to slow the descent, or she would be smashed on impact. As she made it past the clouds, she saw a large body of water with a rather big town on it, and a bridge crossing the water. nearby there was a pretty big mountain with what looked like a cabin on it. Finally, she saw a tower that was about 100-150 feet high, and several small structures surrounding it in a circle, and several small figures moving around it. She refocused on the pod, and decided to focus all thrusters to slowing the decent instead of correcting the spin. She made progress, and now she judged that when she hit the ground, it maybe wouldn''t kill her instantly.


    Jasiri: *bar bark* Armor!" She yelled as the ground rushed up to meet her head on.


    The pod crashed down with a large BOOM and a huge dust cloud shot up.

 Chapter 1

    The Paw Patrol were having a normal day, they had to find and rescue Chickaleta( I thunk I spelled that correctly) about two hors earlier. Everest had shown up to spend the week with them while Jake was away visiting family. They were all just having fun playing soccer when something caught Marshall''s eye. He looked up and was shocked at what he was seeing. Several l flaming objects were falling from the sky, there was one large one and a few smaller ones, the bigger one falling apart as it descended.


    Marshall: "Guys, Look!" He yelled and pointed at the sky.


    They all stopped and looked at what he was pointing at, and they all froze in shock. For a few seconds, they didn''t move, and they continued to stare at the sight, then Chase regained his composure.


    Chase: "Everyone, inside now!" He ordered.


    They didn''t question him and they rushed into the lookout. Everyone made it in, but Marshall was the last one, and he tripped on a random toy and tumbled inside.


    Marshall: "I''m ok." He told them.


    They all entered the elevator, and rode it up, putting on their uniforms on the way. They exited and approached Ryder, who was relaxing and watching tv on the screen. Ryder noticed them and turned the screen off.


    Ryder: "What''s wrong pups?" He asked when he noticed their worried expressions.


    Chase: "There''s a meteor shower or something heading this way." He informed Ryder.


    Ryder frowned, he hadn''t heard anything about a meteor shower from the news, so he looked out the window. He gasped when he saw it, then he pulled out a spyglass and looked through it at the large "meteor". He was surprised when he saw what looked like windows, and it appeared to be reflective of light. Then their was a large explosion on the "meteor", causing it to rip in half. Then Ryder saw something strange, a much smaller object was rapidly descending nearby, but it was slowing down. Looking through the spyglass, he saw what looked like small jets of fire shooting downward, and it also appeared to be made of metal. Ryder couldn''t believe it, it looked like a space ship of some sort. The object hit the ground hard, causing a large amount of dust and dit to shoot into the air. It had landed somewhere in the forest, se he couldn''t see where it landed exactly.


    Ryder: "This is no meteor pups, this appears to be some sort of space ship, and there could be survivors, I saw what looked a escape pod of sorts crash about a quarter mile east, and were going to retrieve it. Skye, I''ll need you in your helicopter t find the pod." He said.


    Skye: "This puppy''s gotta fly!" She shouted.


    Ryder: "Marshall, I''ll need you and your firetruck incase the pod got stuck in a tree or is on fire. We''ll also need your medical pack in case whoever inside is injured."     Marshall: "I''m fired up!" He said.


    Ryder: "Chase, I''ll need you and your net in case we have to catch the pod or inhabitant of it." He told the police pup.


    Chase: "These paws uphold the laws!" He said.


    Ryder: "Rubble, I''ll need you and your bulldozer to clear any debris that might be in the way, as well as carry the pod if we can''t get  it open." He told the young bulldog.


    Rubble: "Rubble on the double" He shouted happily.


    Ryder: "And finally Rocky, I''ll need you to use your tools to get the pod open if it''s stuck." He told the recycling pup.


    Rocky: "Don''t lose it, reuse it!" He shouted.


    Ryder: "Everest and Zuma, you two help the townsfolk, make sure their ok and safe." He told them.


    Everest: "Ice or snow I''m ready to go!" She said happily.


    Zuma: "Let''s get wet!" He yelled.


    Ryder: "All right, Paw Patrol, is on a role!" he shouted and ran for his pole, with the pups barking and howling excitedly.


    One car scene later(with Spongebob announcer voice).


    The pups were searching for the pod, Chase sniffing for it while Skye flew overhead to find it. She saw smoke coming from nearby, and flew over to investigate, and there it was, thankfully it wasn''t on fire, but it had formed quite the crater around it.


    Skye: "Guys, I found it, turn left from where you are and head straight, and you''ll get to it." She told them over her pup tag.


    Ryder: "Thanks Skye." He said.


    They followed Skye''s directions, and after a minute, they arrived. The saw the pod was mostly intact, though it looked badly charred. They approached it slowly, unsure of how safe it was. Suddenly, a light began flashing on it, and a turret popped out of the top of it, aiming at them.


    Identify. A robotic voice said.


    They froze, unsure of what to do.


    Ryder: "I''m Ryder, leader of the Paw patrol, these are-


    Paw Patrol, protectors of Adventure Bay, United States of America, Earth, Milky Way Galaxy. Access authorized. The robotic voice interrupted.


    The hatch opened, and they all saw what looked like a robot pup. The pup fell onto the ground, then struggled to it''s feet. The metal retracted into a pup pack, and revealed a pup that looked like a mix between a Rottweiler and German Shepard. They noticed that the pup was badly injured, with various bruises and burn marks on her body.


    Jasiri: "Back off!" She yelled weakly.


    They didn''t they could tell that she was in bad shape, and wanted to help her.


    Ryder: "We just want to help-


    Jasiri: "I don''t need you help! I can take care of myself." She snapped at him.


    Marshall: "Not with those injuries you can." He told her seriously, and stepped closer.


    Jasiri: *bark bark* Lasers!" She yelled.


    The two blasters came out of her pup pack, and they all froze.


    Jasiri: "Take one step closer and you won''t live to regret it." She growled threateningly.


    Jasiri''s vision was getting blurry, and she nearly collapsed, but she forced herself to stand up. everyone was getting increasingly worried for her, as she struggled to remain conscious.


    Jasiri: "Now I''m going to go some where away from here, and you will forget that you ever...saw...me." She said increasingly weakly until she collapsed. They rushed forward and Marshall ran a quick scan on her, not surprised to see a cracked rib and a broken paw, but he was surprised by how few injuries she had. Then they saw the wound on the back of hind leg and gasped, they had never seen an injury like this before, it was to round, to perfect of a wound to be either natural or an accident.


    Chase: "Someone did this to her. But who?" He wondered aloud.


    ???: "Perhaps I could answer that question." A voice said.

 Chapter 2

    They turned to the source of the voice, and it was none other than Mayaba.


    Marshall: "Who are you?" He asked curiously.


    Mayaba chuckled in a way that sent shiver down there spines.


    Mayaba: "My name isn''t important, what is important is that she has something I want, and I intend to get it. So I suggest you hand her over to me, or things could get ugly for everyone here." He told them.


    While Mayaba was focused more or less on Marshall and Jasiri, Rocky snuck around the back of the group and to the escape pod. He found the turret and began to tinker with it. He was impresses by the level of technology in this alone, and he began to reprogram it, and was surprised to find it had a second firing mode, one that could be useful for getting rid of this guy.


    Ryder: "I don''t think so, for all we know, your the one who did this to her in the first place." She said sternly.


    Mayaba: "Partially yes, I gave her a few bruises and cuts, that burn on her side, and the hole in her leg. But that should be the least of you concerns right now." He stated. "*bark bark* lasers."


    The two blasters appeared from his pup pack, and they all froze.


    Mayaba: "I suggest you hand her over, or you''ll all get holes right in your heads, and these ones will go all the way through." He said as the blasters charged up to full power.


    They didn''t know what to do, then a familiar voice behind them said "Or you can get a taste of your own medicine."


    They looked and saw Rocky aiming the turret at Mayaba, who didn''t have time to react before Rocky fired a powerful kinetic blast at him.


    Mayaba: "NO! I''ll get you for this!" He yelled in rage as he was rocketed far away from them.


    Before he was launched too far away however, he shot a small device which stuck to the pod, but no one noticed this.


    Rocky: "I''d like to see you try!" He yelled at the rapidly fading form of Mayaba.


    He noticed everyone''s shocked expressions, and asked "What?"


    Chase: "How did you do that?" He asked in awe.


    Rocky: "Well, I am really good with technology as you guys know, and this system, while advanced, was relatively simple to reprogram for me." He stated proudly.


    Ryder: "Anyway, we need to get this pup to the Lookout, Marshall, take her in your ambulance." He said as he gestured to the injured Jasiri.


    Before they had a chance to move though, Rocky yelled out "Wait!"


    Rocky: "Rubble, could you use your bulldozer to carry the pod to the Lookout? I would like to examine the technology in it, plus it could have information on what happened." He asked.


    Rubble: "Sure Rocky." He assured his friend.


    They loaded Jasiri into Marshall''s ambulance, and Rubble dug out and carried the pod to the Lookout. Unknown to any of them however, someone was listening to the whole conversation through the device he had attached to the pod, and he began to plan.


    ???: "If your so good with this technology Rocky, you should be able to help me out then. But first, I will need some help." He chuckled as he envisioned what he would do once his plan came to full fruition.


    He flew to Washington Langley, Virginia and right toward the headquarters of the CIA. When he arrived, he landed right in front of the entrance, and entered as if he owned the place. The security pulled out their weapons and aimed them at him the moment they saw him in his battle armor.Royal Road is the home of this novel.     Guard: "Freeze!" He yelled. "Don''t take another step!"


    He ignored the guards and began walking in the direction of the office of the the head of the CIA, who happened to be there. (By the way, I am making up a name for him so I can avoid people trying to get political about it.)


    The guard from before stepped in front of him and aimed his gun. Deciding he''s had enough, he knocked the guard to the side, and they all began to fire at him, the bullets not affecting him at all. He sighed, why did they have to make this so difficult? He aimed his paw at one of them and a laser blasted a whole clean through his chest, killing him instantly, causing the other guards to give pause, and he walked down the hall to the office. When he arrived, he found it to be empty, and he did a scan for his target and discovered that he was somewhere below him. He aimed his leg at the floor and blasted it, revealing a secret tunnel underneath him. He jumped down and saw movement at the end of the tunnel as someone ran around the corner. He used his thrusters to quickly make it to the other end, and he found several agents waiting for him, but they had not expected him to shoot around the corner so fast, and before they could react, he tackled two of them and blasted the other two. He saw his target almost at a door at the end, and he jetted after him. Just before he could reach the door, his target made it and closed it behind him. It looked like a strong blast door and from what his suits sensors could tell, could probably withstand a IBM explosion. So he decided to make a new door, and used his lasers to carve through the concrete around it, until it was disconnected from the rest of the wall, and fell to the floor. He saw light at the end of a short tunnel, and rushed towards it, and saw a small escort of armored vehicles speeding away. He jetted after them, and knocked out the armored car in the back, sending it directly into a nearby building, wedging it there. He saw an soldier man lean out the window of the next vehicle and shoot at him with an AK-47, the bullets of course not doing any damage whatsoever. He blasted the vehicle with a fully powered laser, obliterating more than half of it, and there was almost nothing left of the previous inhabitants .here was only two more escort vehicles and the one they were escorting. He landed in front of the convoy, and the vehicles in the front swerved to avoid him, only succeeding in colliding with a vehicle going in the opposite direction. The other one didn''t have enough time to react before his vehicle hit Mayaba, who used the strength that his suit provided to flip the car, it''s momentum causing it to fly 30 feet high, and finally land about 40 yards away. The final vehicle turned into a side street to try and escape, but he flew after it. He heard the blades of a helicopter approaching fast, as well as police sirens, and knew it would be best to finish this quickly and not draw any more attention to himself than he already had. He used a concentrated laser to kill the driver and man in the passenger seat, causing it to crash into a building. He landed next to the wrecked vehicle, and tore off the back door, only to find several unconscious and dead agents there, not his target. He mentally cursed his incompetence, he hadn''t even bothered to scan to make sure that his target was in the convoy. He flew high up and made a long range scan for his target, and found him to be about 25 miles north of his position, and he flew in that direction. He quickly caught up to his targets car, and flew down to it, quickly killed the driver, then grabbed the man he had been chasing.


    Man: "Let me go! You will regret this!" He yelled in anger, but Mayaba could see the barely hidden terror in his eyes.


    Mayaba dragged him into a nearby house, then he used his laser to carve out a small cave under it, then covered the hole with some wood boards and loose bricks from the building. He turned his suits lights on to illuminate the small space.


    Mayaba: "Finally, I can do what I came here to do in the first place." He sighed in relief.


    Man: "If your going to kill me, then do it already." He told the dog.


    Mayaba: "I''m not going to kill you, I came here to ask for some help. I need someone with lots of influence and power and knows how to be discreet, and you fill that role perfectly." He responded.


    The man hesitated, then asked "What kind of help?"


    Mayaba: "I need to build a very special spaceship, but I need scientists and engineers to help build it. In exchange for your help, I will teach you how to build working spaceships and advanced weaponry far better than you have. Technology that will probably take your planet at least 300 years to create." He said.


    The man considered this, then nodded.


    Man: "Alright, you have a deal." He agreed.


    Mayaba: "There is one last thing you could do though." He said.


    Man: "And what would that be?" He asked.


    Mayaba: "There''s this pup who turns out to be really good with technology, he would be of use to me, so if you could kidnap him and bring him to me, i''ll make it worth your while." He explained.


    Man: "Sounds good to me. What''s the name of this pup" He asked.


    Mayaba grinned evilly "I''m glad you asked."

 Chapter 3

    The Paw Patrol took Jasiri and the escape pod back to the Lookout while parts of the ship were still crashing to the ground. The main part of the ship was only about three hundred feet above the ground at this point, but fortunately it looked like it wasn''t going to land on Adventure Bay itself, but was veering towards one of the nearby  mountains (not Jake''s Mountain) and probably wouldn''t be an immediate danger for anyone. On the way, they had to swerve to the side occasionally times to avoid pieces of flaming wreckage from the ship that had landed on the road in front of them. Skye''s helicopter almost got hit once, but thankfully she saw it in time and dodged it. They made it to the Lookout without much trouble besides from that. When they arrived, they immediately brought Jasiri inside and Marshall examined her injuries more extensively using his x-ray to search for internal injuries. They would have taken her to Katie but she was out of town because of a family emergency. Marshall and the others became increasingly worried the more injuries he found, 3 broken ribs, a broken paw, a sprained leg, a large number of cuts and bruises, plus the various burn marks and the hole in her leg from Mayaba''s lasers. Marshall did what he could to treat her wounds, cleaning them and covering the wounds with bandages, then he wrapped her paw and leg. Afterwards, they finally relaxed and tried to think of what to do.


    Rocky: "Ryder, is it okay if I go and examine the escape pod? It could help figure out what exactly happen. We need to know who that dog from earlier was, and it looks like she isn''t going to wake up anytime soon." He asked.


    Ryder considered it for a moment, and he didn''t see any harm in it.


    Ryder: "Okay Rocky, see what you can do. But be careful, I don''t want you to get hurt messing with it. Don''t forget how close to getting blasted by it earlier." He reminded the recycling pup.


    Rocky: "Don''t worry Ryder, I''ll be very careful." He reassured his owner.


    Rocky left and went outside where they left the escape pod and began to examine it exterior with a keen eye, but it had a lot of dirt and dust on it. He quickly got a hose and sprayed it down. Once he did, he examined it further. He took in it''s smooth design and it''s small thrusters spaced evenly apart throughout it''s hull. He also saw larger thrusters on the bottom and top. He then looked inside and saw a comfortable looking seat with several buttons and joysticks around it, along with several camera monitors and a single window on it''s door. He saw a loose piece of the metal that it was made of and tore it off and examined it closely. It wasn''t like a metal he had seen before. Looking at the damage the pod had suffered and for the first time noticed how good condition it was in, there was surprisingly few dents and burn marks on it considering it''s rough entrance. He climbed on top to examine the turret again, and took a closer look on just how it shoots lasers and kinetic blasts, and found it was surprisingly not that complicated relatively speaking. He took another look inside and saw something he hadn''t noticed earlier, spherical object on the floor in front of the seat.


    Rocky: "*bark bark* Grabber claw." He said, and the claw came out of his pup pack.


    He used it to pick up the the object. As he examined it, it suddenly began to glow red.


    Authorization. A robotic voice spoke from the device.


    This startled Rocky so much that he dropped the device in surprise. Then he regained his composure and spoke.


    Rocky: "I''m Rocky, a member of the Paw Patrol." He said nervously.


    Rocky, recycling pup of the Paw Patrol, authorized. It spoke.


    The glow turned blue. Rocky cautiously approached the device and used his grabber claw to pick it up again. Not sure about what it was, he decided to se what would happen if he asked.


    Rocky: "What are you?" He questioned.


    Chief: "I am Chief, an AI built and designed by Kulinda and Jasiri. My job is to assist them with controlling their ship any devices or electronics they install me into or have me hack into. I also store all of the data they need on anything they come across. I can tell you more if you plug me into a computer." He answered.


    Rocky considered this and decided to ask Ryder first. There was no telling what this thing could possibly do if he plugged it into a computer. He entered the Lookout and found the pups either pacing anxiously or sitting and resting. He walked up to Ryder who was looking at Jasiri with worry.


    Ryder: "What wrong Rocky? And what''s that your holding?" He asked when he saw Rocky''s slightly worried expression and the sphere he was carrying in his grabber claw.


    Rocky: "This is Chief, he is an AI that someone named Kulinda and Jasiri created to help them out." He told Ryder.


    Chief: "Jasiri is the pup who is currently unconscious and laying on the bed in front of you. Kulinda is her owner, his current location and condition is unknown." He said.


    Ryder: "That''s good to know, is there anything else you could tell us?" He asked.


    Chief: "I can tell you what you need to know, but it will be quicker and easier if you could plug me into a computer of some sorts." He requested.


    Ryder thought about it, and decided it wouldn''t hurt.


    Ryder: "Alright, how can we do that?" He asked.


    A USB drive ejected from the side of the sphere. Ryder took it and plugged it into his pup pad. A flood of information flew across the screen. The screen focused on a specific file on the bottom.


    Chief: "This is everything that has happened in the last 2 hours." he said.


    The screen showed all of the cameras and sensors throughout the ship Jasiri had taken to get here, and for a few minutes, nothing happened. The outer cameras showed the ship was in a humungous hangar with dozens of different space ships in it and many people and aliens moving through it. Then the cameras focused on a nearby entrance as Jasiri ran into the hangar and ran towards the ship. Before she could enter though, a dark form tackled her. The cameras focused more on the creature to reveal Mayaba. The other pups had gathered around by this point to watch, and Ryder paused the video.     Ryder: "Let''s watch this on the large screen on the top of the Lookout." He told them.


    They nodded and they piled into the elevator, Marshall even managed to avoid crashing into them since he wasn''t running to keep up with them. When they reached the top, Ryder moved the video feed onto the large screen and continued the video. They watched the short skirmish  (with them occasionly letting out small cheers for her)between Jasiri and Mayaba, and he how she almost blasted him to pieces. When she escaped, they began to wonder if she really had gotten some of those injuries from him or not. Then Mayaba broke into the ship and they all tensed. They watched with horror as the the evil dog chased poor Jasiri to the cockpit and the cringed at each injury she suffered on the way and in the ensuing fight. Rocky saw the buttons that were being accidentally pressed and noticed that the coordinates for Earth were among the few that were saved into the system. The video feed cut out during the hyper jump. When it resumed, it was full of static and flickered frequently. They saw the unconscious forms of the two dogs and were shocked when Jasiri saved Mayaba.


    Chase: "I can''t believe she saved him, she is definitely a good pup." He said in awe.


    They watched her place Mayaba in an escape pod and send it off. Then she retrieved Chief''s AI core and escaped herself. The camera feed switched to half an outer camera on the pod, and the other half an inner camera looking at Jasiri. Through the outer camera they saw the ship entering Earth''s atmosphere and begin to burn and break apart. They saw Jasiri cry in sorrow as she watched this happen before regaining her composure. Suddenly, a piece of the ship hit the pod and startled all of them and sent the pod into a spiral. They watched with shock as Jasiri tried to use the thrusters to correct the spin only to slow it down a bit. As the outer camera showed an arial view of Adventure Bay, they saw the Lookout, and the camera zoomed in on them all playing outside, then the camera identified each of them, their names, occupation, breed, parentage, age, and a few other things they didn''t have time to read. They watched as Jasiri seemed to realized there was no correcting the spin in time and put all of the energy to slowing her descent. She had some success with this, but was obviously still going to hit the ground hard. At the last second she activated her armor and she hit the ground, and the outer camera was knocked off and sent flying and the inner one was cracked. Ryder turned off the video feed and they sat there in stunned silence for about a minute. Finally Ryder broke the silence.


    Ryder: "Chief, who is that dog? The one that attacked Jasiri? And what happened to her owner?" He asked shakily.


    Chief: "The dog is a half wolf named Mayaba which is Swahili for "evil" Aptly named as you saw from the video. His owner is not any better, and in fact is even worse. Mayaba may or may not have been acting under his owners orders. Mayaba''s current location is unknown, but he definitely survived the kinetic blast that Rocky hit him with. Good job with that by the way." He said.


    Rocky: "Thank you." He said, beaming with pride.


    Ryder: "And who is Mayaba''s owner? And what happened to Kulinda?" He asked.


    Chief: "The identity of Mayaba''s owner is unknown, his last known location was the space station where Mayaba first attacked Jasiri earlier. Kulinda was last seen there as well, Jasiri had been with him. My best guess is that they ran into Mayab''s owner and Kulinda distracted him to let Jasiri escape." He told them.


    This made Ryder even more worried.


    Ryder: "Why were Mayaba and his owner attacking them?" He asked.


    Chief: "I have not been authorized to tell you about that. Jasiri can allow me to tell a certain amount, but only Kulinda could give me full authorization. What I can tell you is that he is never to be trusted, and it would be a good idea to keep this as secret as possible. Mayaba seems to be after something Jasiri has, which means he won''t give up until he gets it, or dies. Mayaba''s owner most likely doesn''t know where he and Jasiri are, but he has influence and power with such far reach that anyone could be an informant. Fortunately, Mayaba, though he knows a lot of the intricacies of some of the most advanced tech in the universe, he lacks the technical skill to build it himself. Unfortunately, he can recruit someone to build it for him, and if he does, we need to be prepared for a war. I will begin to upgrade your network, I''ve already quadrupled the range of your communications and made it the most protected communication network in this galaxy. I am working to make it more protected and have farther range. This process will only take a few minutes. Afterwards, I will assist with upgrading your equipment, arming you, and fortifying this place." He told them.


    Ryder: "Wait, but were just a rescue team, we help people, we don''t hurt people." He protested.


    Chief: "Don''t worry, odds are the majority of your foes will be robots, he loves to use them because they are expendable and easy to get ahold of, not to mention they won''t question his orders." He said calmly.


    Ryder thought about this and realized that this was probably necessary.


    Chief: "Jasiri should hopefully wake up soon, and she can help out. When she wakes up, let me talk to her, otherwise she will try to run off or shoot you thinking you are either working for or with Mayaba and his owner. Any human adversaries we come across, she and I can take care of. I will now focus entirely on upgrading your network, I should only be a minute." He said.


    After another minute of silence, the screen lit up and showed the form of a robot dog.


    Chief: "This is my avatar, this is how I would normally appear as in the form of a hologram but it will take a few minutes to make one with some physical assistance. With some help from Rocky, I could obtain a physical form and be of a even greater help." He informed them.


    No one saw this as a bad thing, so they agreed.


    Rocky went back down to were the pod was and dragged it inside where he began to work, occasionally going outside to grab something from his pup house, and in a few minutes thanks to assistance from Chief, a mobile and self-propelled hologram device was crated, and Chief''s avatar appeared next to Rocky. He was extremely impressed, it looked like he was really there, not just a hologram. They then began to work on a physical body for Chief. It was a very complicated and long process that lasted two days. Finally, it was finished, and Chief entered the robotic form. The dog''s eyes began to glow blue, and it stood and stretched it''s mechanical joints. It resembled a greyhound with a smooth gray metal covering it''s exterior.


    Chief: "Thank you Rocky, you have been a big help. Now we can work on weapons and defenses." He said.


    During the two day project, Chief had been multi-tasking like crazy, with helping Rocky design the body, scanning local news for any signs of suspicious characters, helping Ryder to upgrade the pup packs and vehicles, and upgrading the network even more. According to Chief, they could communicate with each other from opposite sides of the galaxy at this point. Rocky hadn''t gotten enough sleep the last two nights however, and needed to rest.


    Rocky: "Sorry, but I need to rest for now, I will help when I wake up." He said apologetically.


    Chief: "You don''t need to be sorry Rocky, you need rest. And you''ve earned a good long sleep." He told the recycling pup.


    Rocky nodded in thanks and walked to his pup house, curled up, and went to sleep. Unknown to him however, is that several men wearing black had been waiting nearby, and when no one was looking, they quickly snuck up to Rocky''s pup house, shot him with a tranquilizer, and carried him off without anyone even noticing. They placed Rocky in the back of a black van and drove off as fast as they could. Meanwhile, a certain dog had watched the whole scene unfold, and quietly chuckled to himself.


    Mayaba: "My plan is going along well, as much as i want to attack now, I now have that robot dog to worry about, and I need them alive to make Rocky do what I tell him. Otherwise they would all be dead at this very moment." He snarled.


    Mayaba turned and left, walking into the forest to meet up with the men.
