Prologue - Species and Queen Born
Within a dark, moisture-laden and musty deep rocky cave lay a small grey egg on the floor next to the mossy wall.
The only sounds in the cave were water dripping from the ceiling on the rocky floor and the cracking of an egg. However one sound only lasted for a few minutes. It was the cracking.
Once the cracking was finished there was very muffled push sound followed by the falling and cracking sounds of the eggs shell. From within the egg out came a larvae.
This larvae was a grey colour with twelve legs, soft and squishy skin that folded in at regular intervals, each one placed by its legs. The larvae shuffled its tiny legs forward and moved out of the egg.
The larvae didn''t possess anything more that animalistic intellect capable of basic instincts, reasoning, awareness and problem-solving skills, however it did possess innate thought that told it can advance itself by consuming.
Therefore it turned back to face the cracked egg on the floor and began to eat it and consume the Biomass and satiate its hunger. After a few minutes it finished eating the egg and moved to search for more to consume.
The larvae proceeded to move around the cave entrance, moving through a small tunnel and rounding a corner. Suddenly it halted. In front of it was a number of chrysalises with small winged insect in them. It proceded forward and began to eat one of them. After a few minutes it had eaten the chrysalis and bug whole. The larvae proceeded to eat a few more of them on instinct, finding them very suitable and filling.
Feeling full the larvae retreated back into the caves depths on instinct and fell into a deep sleep. A chrysalis formed around it.

It now had six legs, a head with better eyes that could see more than a few meters unlike before and a couple of antennae, a slightly longer body with small amount of fur on it but still soft and squishy, a venomous stinger at the back of its body, a pair of wings on its back and most important was it now had a way to utilize Biomass in a way other eating and growing, it could now create larvae that are like it was before. It now also had a gender, female.
She had a substantial advancement however she did not try to do anything more than hunt for more Biomass to feed on.
The larvae now bee-like creature moved back to where it found the bee''s before as it knew there was food there. She would need to eat more to grow and she was feeling very hungry.
She turned the corner at the end of the tunnel that was between her area and the bee''s arae in the big cavern by the entrance. She now had more intelligence due to gaining a larger brain so she stopped at the exit to the tunnel and used her antennae to send out an electromagnetic field to sense the bee''s own electromagnetic signals.
She felt a strange fuzzy feel in her head and felt a number of very weak signals. She turned to look at them, they where more of the chrysalis''s she found earlier.
Proceeding forward towards them she knew she didn''t need to use her venom stinger to sedate them, they would just sleep through being eaten as they were hibernating, growing in them. She could not hear before when she was larvae but now she could hear the sounds water dripping, well more like ''feel'' the sound with her whole body, so she knew it was safe due to there being no other sounds around.
She proceeded to eat the a number of the bee chrysalises again.
After eating four of them she ''felt'' loud buzzing sounds and erratic electromagnetic signals coming from behind her.
Spurred by an instinct of danger she ran back into her tunnel and luckily got away before the bee''s reached her, as they could not fly into the small hole as it was just too small for their wings.
She turned and faced the bee''s outside from just inside the tunnel.
One bee landed, folded its wings in and tried to walk into the cave. She lifted her front left leg and hit the bee back a bit as it came forward again she hit it again this time with her stinger by jumping ever so slightly and thrusting it forward form behind her, a tough feat in the cramped tunnel. She then bit down on it and ripped it''s head off, blood spraying everywhere and gulping the head down she headed back to her small area of the cave the bee corpse blocking the entrance.
She then laid down two eggs at the back of her small area in the cave upon return. That was all she could do currently with her Biomass.
She then felt hungry so she dragged the bee at the entrance into the back with her eggs and ate it contently looking at her eggs. The bee''s had retreated.
With her new intellect came emotion. Her first feeling was satisfaction, she also felt like she wanted to birth more.
Arc 1 - Establishment (Part 1)
Due to her body being small she could not store much Biomass and the fact she used it all to create two eggs she decided to go back into the entrance to feed on more of the flying insects. That way she could fill herself and birth more eggs to advance the species.
She felt an extremely faint connection between the minds of herself and the eggs, she wanted to birth more larvae and advance the species.
She advanced back to the front area of the cave with these thoughts and stopped at the end of the tunnel.
The winged insects had left some of themselves to guard the chrysalises, this caused her to pause.
Advance...how? She thought, looking around the front area of the cave. The had five guards around the area of the chrysalises. She used her antennae to send out an electromagnetic field to sense if there was more of them.
The insects all paused and turned towards her. Suddenly all five flew right at her. Assailed by a sense grave danger she retreated back into the tunnel a few steps. If advance...hit. She thought to repeat what happened when she was chased before. All five guards who were advancing suddenly stopped and returned to their posts.
She felt a change in the electromagnetic fields as that happened so she decided to wait and see what will happen. She was too hungry to give up the hunt. Irritation and a sense of danger welled up in her, Must...remove...danger...
Very soon after the change in the electromagnetic fields and the retreat of the winged insect came a slightly larger, more distinct one. This larger one had a more pronouned electromagnetic field that seemed domineering. It immediately moved towards her upon arrival.
When it moved towards her she felt a pull and pressure on her mind. On instinct she defended by mentally sending a bolt of electromagnetic force. The larger insect stiffened taking the chance she charged out the exit to fly and sting it. However it did not stay still and retreated, she felt a change in the electromagnetic fields once again, the five flying insect guards moved again as the bigger one retreated, she too retreated, back into the tunnel.
One of the five guards arrived at the entrance, immeadiately she jumped and stung it, putting it too sleep. Wasting no time or actions she bit down on its head ripping it off, eating it and dragged its headless body into the tunnel and back to her small back area of the cave. She decided to immeadiately eat it and hauled it to the back wall where the eggs were and ate it. She then turned and moved back to into the tunnel.
Stopping at the end of the tunnel she saw the guards were still there but the bigger insect was gone. There was also new small eggs, the guards not looking at them. She moved and hid behind one the eggs nearer to the tunnel exit, she peered around to make sure it was safe and saw no dangers. She moved, lifting the egg and retreated back in the tunnel and to her back area of the cave. Placing it down she broke it open with her front legs and ate the gooey larvae from within it, leaving the egg shells with the headless insect corpse for her or her young to eat when they are born later.
Once again she moved to the end of the tunnel and peered out of it to look into the large entrance area of the cave and did not see any of the winged insects, she even used her electromagnetic field and found nothing. The guards had left for some unknown reason. Finding this out she decied to move all the various eggs and chrysalises into the her back area of the cave.
After some time passed she had a large pile of dead larve, winged insects, chrysalis goo and egg shells to eat. She had killed all the creatures within them to ensure they would not harm her or her larvae when they were born. Now she had plenty of food herself and the soon-to-be born two larave.
She ate her fill and laid two more eggs and then filled herself up again, a very large amount still remaining for her to fill herself for days and feed her young when born. She decieded to sleep feeling full and tired from all her activity.
She woke up and felt a stronger link between herself and the first two eggs. She then peered over at the pile of food. Protect...nurture...advance...She decided to stay in the back of the cave and wait for her eggs to hatch and evolve them into a form similar to herself.
So like that she waited in the small back area of the cave.
Three days went by with her guarding the eggs, eating and sleeping until she heard cracking sounds and turned to the eggs.
The first two eggs she laid are cracking and little gray small leg larvae are coming out of them slowly, fumbling out.
She can feel a strong tingly and static connection between herself and them and she insinctively knows their minds are connected and she needs to order them.
[Eat]She orders the two larvae.
The two larvae move forward and start eating from he pile and convert it into Biomass in their bodies. They continue eating so she orders them again.
[Stop] [Evolve] She orders them to stop eating and then orders them to evolve. She orders them to evolve into her form meaning they will be able to sense and create electromagnetic fields to detect and communicate, fly and have a sedative venom, but she wont allow them to place eggs as these two will act as soldiers. Chrysalises envelope the two larvae.
She now walks into the tunnel and to the other side of it and then peeks out from it to look at the cave entrace area. Looking around she see''s various insects flying and on the ground along with various chrysalises and eggs. There are more than she has seen in her total, by quite a lot too.
Growing...must...end... She decided that it was neccessary to remove the winged insects from the cave. However she cannot do it alone so she turns around and goes back through the tunnel and back into the small back area.
Once she returns to the back area of the cave she walks up to the wall and grabs at the moss on the wall of the cave and rips it off and eats it. It can be converted to Biomass, confirming this she gathers it from the cave walls and moves it into the pile.
Looking around the small area she see''s the chrysalises of the two evolving larvae and the two eggs of larvae.Grow...feed...fight... she decides to eat and lay four more eggs. This way she can grow her species, have more to feed herself and them on while fighting the winged insects as they will have more chances to kill more with higher numbers.
For now she will wait and see what happens while her young evolve and be born.
Arc 1 - Establishment (Part 2)
She waited for a few hours before she ''felt'' movement in the tunnel from her electromagnetic field she deployed in the back area and the tunnel. She ran to the tunnel entrance and found a winged insect in it.
Quickly jumping to the side of the entrance she waited in ambush, ready to inject it with sedative venom from her stinger. The winged insect continued advancing down the tunnel, she did not need to see it she could feel it coming. When it came to the end of the tunnel and just into the small area she jumped.
Jumping on to the winged insect she stung it with sedative venom and it flopped on the floor asleep. With it knocked out she dragged it into the pile of things to be eaten. Just as she had done that she heard cracking and squelching sounds so she turned around.
Turning around she saw the two chrysalises the larvae went into breaking and grey-brown winged insects just like her fumble out. [Eat] she ordered them. The two grey-brown winged insects immediately walked up to the pile and started to eat.
They ate until full and then stood around idly. Meanwhile she waited continued to wait near the entrance for the second lot of eggs she laid to be born. The food pile had lost a quater of what it had originally.
About a hour or two passed until the next two eggs were born, immediately she ordered them to eat then evolve into the same grey-brown winged insect form without the ability to breed, Swarmer is what she named them.
With four Swarmer''s ready she decided to move out into the front of the cave, leaving two swarmer''s to guard the entrance and two swarmer''s to organise the pile of food. Moving through the tunnel with two swarmer''s behind her she ordered them to stop in the middle of tunnel and she continued moving to entrance into the large cave entrance area.
When she got there she saw a large amount of eggs and some chrysalises. They were guarded again, this time by seven winged insects flying around or walking on the ground.[Come] Focusing,she orders the two Swarmer''s in the tunnel to move forward. As they move to just behind her she orders them[Attack]. The two Swarmer''s move in front of her to attack two winged insects in front of them with their backs turned to her small group facing the front of the cave.
While the Swarmer''s move forward she focuses on her antennae, trying to surround the two with her own electromagnetic field. She knows she is taking a risk trying to see if it will cut them off from their electromagnetic network with their own hive. With the birth of her first four members of her species she gained more intelligence with event on top of the intellect she developed gaining her current form. She gained this intellect due to the fact she essentially now has five brains due to the four Swarmer''s contributing their intellect to the hive mind of their own electromagnetic network.
The risk paid off though the two winged insects got overwhelmed by the electromagnetic field which was equivalent to five of them and got stunned. [Drag...Return]She orders the two swarmer''s to drag the corpses back and return to the back area while she drags a chrysalis back.
Once they returned she killed the creature in the chrysalis. Both the corpses and chrysalis are added to the pile, it gains back some of its previous amount.
She then stays waiting in the tunnel until the four other larvae are born.
When the new larvae were born about half an hour later she ordered three to evolve into Swarmer''s and one in to a new type called Spawner which has same base form as the winged insects she and the Swarmers have taken on except it has no wings for flight or stinger for sedative venom however it has the capabilty to lay eggs to birth larvae by using biomass and the usual electromagnetic usage of fields and telepathy.
[Eat]She orders the three new Swarmer''s and one Spawner.
Once the new Swarmer''s are done eating she orders them to follow her and the two Swarmer''s already following her. With five Swarmer''s following her she leaves the back area to the two Swarmer''s guarding it and the Spawner which is just idling.
When she reached the front of the tunnel she quickly looked around and that there was still on five guards there. She prepared her electromagnetic field and ordered[Attack]to the Swarmer''s.
While the Swarmer''s moved forward to attack she released her electromagnetic field and stunned the winged insects just like last time and the Swarmer''s stung them with sedative venom and bit their heads off, eating them.
[Secure] She ordered the five Swarmer''s to secure the area in the front area while it was empty.
[Kill]Focusing she then ordered the two guarding Swarmer''s to come forward from the back area of the cave and kill the various chrysalises and eggs inhabitants. Then sheordered the Spawner[Eat...Birth], telling it to eat then lay four eggs. She herself then goes around and helps the two Swarmer''s who are killing the creatures in the eggs and chrysalises and tidying it all up into a pile.
This was done in about half an hour, once complete she had the five Swarmer''s who came with her guard the front area of the cave with the two Swarmer''s who came later guarding the entrance to the tunnel to the back area of the cave. She herself then went into the back through to the back of the cave and ate from the pile their, then laid two eggs herself and then ate her fill again. The back area of the cave was getting quite full so she ordered the Spawner to eat its fill again too, there would then only be just under half of the pile left.
She then started to think. Now that she had secured the entire cave she had to hold it. She already decided to push out the winged insects but she knew that most likely won''t be enough as they could try to get the cave back again. The winged insects may have other areas that they use but even if they do they most likely would want this area back as they have shown signs of wanting to keep it before.
It would most likely be a hard battle and she had yet to see that larger winged insect with a more dominant electromagnetic field again, that one would most likely come back again if a fight was going to happen and it would definately not be alone.
For all that she needed to prepare but first, she needed to rest a while. One final thing needed to be done before she could rest though and that was to order the Spawner to birth two more eggs, this time just outside the tunnel in the entrance area of the cave as there was a lack of room in the back area now.
Now she could sleep for a while.
Arc 1 - Establishment (Part 3)
She woke up unnaturally for the first time. She could feel erratic signals of urgency coming through her connection to her Swarmer''s. Focusing her mind, using her electrical capabilities to see through the eyes of one of her Swarmer''s she found that the front of the cave was under attack. She began to move through the tunnel to see for herself what was happening.
When she got to the end of the tunnel and look around in the front area of the cave she saw ten winged insects inside and they had just started fighting with the seven Swarmer''s, all flying in the air. Not wanting to lose any one of her Swarmer''s she immediately joined the battle herself.
She immediately ordered all her swarmer''s to fall back slightly and then used her antennae to send out electromagnetic signals to overload and stun two of the winged insects. Once she did that and they were stunned she ordered four Swarmer''s to go forward and had two of them sting one of the winged insects each while the other two deterred any other winged insects from coming forward however just as the two stung winged insects fell to the floor of the cave unconscious the other eight winged insects came forward and attacked.
In response to their charge she ordered the four who came forward to retreat to and join back with the other three. The eight winged insects still charged forward, it seems there is nothing directly control over them leaving them near mindless. Seeing this she decided to stay how she was controlling the seven Swarmer''s and ordered them go on the offensive as it was now seven against eight.
As the Swarmer''s moved forward to fight on her command she used her electromagnetic capabilities to stun one of the winged insects and then ordered the Swarmer to sting it making it fall unconscious. Now the fight was seven vs seven. She quickly stunned another winged insect with her electromagnetic field and it then got knocked out with sedative venom from a Swarmer''s stinger. Now the fight was seven vs six she decided to come forward and kill the four unconscious winged insects while the fight in the air happened.
Moving forward she bit off and ate the heads of the four winged insects on the floor without interruption due to the intense fighting in the air and the enemy being outnumbered.
Now she took to the air and joined the battle herself, flying up she flew behind a winged insect and bit off one of its wings, it fell lopsidedly onto the floor below. Another winged insect fell to the floor unconscious at the same time, from an attack by two swarmer''s. She immediately dived back down to the ground and stung the one-winged insect knocking it out and then she bit its head off and ate and then did the same to the unconscious winged insect.
Now that it was seven vs four she decided to have the Swarmer''s live up to their name and just swarm the winged insects. They were quickly finished off.
[Eat]She ordered the seven Swarmer''s, they went forward and each ate one of the seven winged insect corpses. She then had the them drag the other three corpses back to the back area of the cave.The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.
[Guard]She ordered the Swarmer''s, wanting them to guard the front area of the cave. She had successfully held off one attack from the winged insects, but she knew that was not all of them. She needed to get increase her species numbers and make them and herself stronger.
She sat there in waiting for about two hours, until something entered the cave. It was a squishy long thing that slitered across the ground, a slug. Just as she was about to order an attack on it two more entered the cave, right after that she ordered the attack.
The seven Swarmer''s ran up to the three worms and overran the slow creatures, they were very frail and had no method to fight and therefore died quickly. She quickly ordered for the three corpes to be brought to near the tunnel entrance.
She went with the Swarmer''s who dragged the corpes and once they put them down and left, she went towards one of the corpses and began eating it head first. She didnt''t continue eating after she ate one of the three slugs and just stayed with the other two corpses and didn''t add them to either of the main piles, keeping them for herself.
The children were capable of their own basic thought so she decided to let them go about their business of eating and guarding. She decided to plan how to gain total control over the cave.
Two full days passed as she planned, ate, slept and waited. Finally the eight eggs that were laid by her and the one Spawner were starting to crack and hatch. She also ate the other two slugs but felt no change like when she ate the winged insects and evolved. It didn''t seem like she loss anything though.
The eggs all split around the same time and she ordered them all to eat and evolve, six into Swarmer''s and two into a creature that was larvae-like but had the winged insects arms and legs, she called it a Drone, a mindless creature made entirely for working on basic tasks like gathering and cleaning. It had no capabilities except for being able to send and recieve electromagnetic signals and fields.
She had the two Drone''s organise the food piles in a corner in the small back area of the cave. She also had the six new Swarmer''s join in guarding the cave.
She wanted to see what was outside the cave, eventually they would run out of food and would need to go find more and she also needed to further her evolution and that of her species. But first she would wait a bit longer in the cave as it was a safe place for her and children now and they still had some food supply and creatures would come in the cave.
Thinking this she thought it would be better to have the guards hide while also being able see around the cave, this way creatures would enter the cave as they see it as empty.
She waited for a day there was still no creatures coming into the cave. So she was beginning to think of going outside for the first time. She did not know what would be out there but she would need to go out eventually so she should just go now. She could just send a Swarmer out and see through its eyes by ''listening in on'' the electronic signals of its brain.
However first she needed to prepare some things before she would see what was outside. If there was a danger out there she needed to prepare and then find it and assess it. She wanted and needed to see what was outside but she didn''t want too many risks to herself or her children.
So she began to prepare for her objective of seeing what was outside.
Arc 1 - Establishment (Part 4)
After some time she stopped thinking. She has above animalistic intellect but below average intelligence of a creature that is considered sentient due to her using the minds of all sixteen of her children. She ''pulled'' the electrical signals of their minds and instead of having a hive mind she made atemporary mind hive with herself as the centre again, she could do this due to her intuitively knowing about the basic concept of grouping of minds. Once she had gotten the mind of seventeen minds including her own she had a boost of intellect and could plan.
The plan she came up with was for the three Swarmer''s to go outside and explore linked via hive mind. The ten other Swarmer''s will be on guard and giving her their minds and intellect through the mind hive along with the Spawner and two Drone''s who will wait in the back room of the cave along with her.
So she acted out her plan and sent out the three Swarmer''s.
She decided to see if the Swarmer''s had a change in their electrical signals, she would link to their mind and then observe through them. The Swarmer''s had no change after a few minutes so she decided to allow them to move away from the entrance a bit. Still, no change occured so she ordered the Swarmer''s to move back towards the entrance.
She decided that she will go out to the outside of the cave herself, alone. She walked out the back area of cave and through the tunnel. She then flew through the large entrance area and came to the -small compared to the large interior- exit of the cave.
As she arrived at the entrance she looked outside and saw large plants, very much bigger than her. Trees that dwarfed even these plants, multiple time their size. She was in awe and shock at the scale of everything compared to her having seen things so large in her short life of about a week and three days.
She dismissed these feelings with the need to find a food source, the food in the cave would not last. So with the need for food in mind she looked around the area by the entrance. She knew herself and her children could eat anything that had Biomass in it. Anything living; animals, plants, trees, etc.[Gather]she ordered the thirteen Swarmer''s. The Swarmer''s came out the cave and began to gather small plants while she kept a look out for any danger. Each Swarmer took all it could carry and flew back into the cave and placed then in the back of the entrance area at the back and repeated the gathering process a few times.
When the Swarmer''s were coming out to gather another load she felt a large disturbance on her electromagnetic field she distributed to detect things out of her view. She turned to her left and saw a large amount of winged insects coming through the large plants.[Retreat] She ordered the Swarmer''s to run back into the cave, she did the same.
Once again she feels irritation and danger. Irritation from the fact that these winged insects keep interfering and danger due to the fact their numbers are large.[Hide, Ambush] She ordered the Swarmer''s to hide around the entrance and area around the entrance inside the cave and then attack anything that entered, she did the same. She did not give the Swarmer''s any additional commands and just waited for the winged insects to come into the cave, their brown and yellow backs darkening as they entered further. As she did not order the Swarmer''s they stayed put. However, when the winged insects entered the cave far enough and she had counted their numbers, eleven, she ordered the Swamer''s[Attack], she also jumped into the battle stunning one winged insect with her electrical signals while the Swarmer''s each took one winged insect each except the winged insect nearest the entrance which had two Swarmer''s jump on it. While the winged insect she stunned was frozen she jumped on it''s flying body and pushed it causing it to fall on the floor below and she then bit into it''s small neck and ripped out it''s insides as she did not have to time to bite its head off and eat it. As she did that the Swarmer''s had been able to overpower the one winged insect it fell to the floor, stomach ripped out, blood spraying out uncontrollably and the two Swarmer''s moved on to help one of the lone Swarmer''s.
However, not all was going well. One of the Swarmer''s that was fighting one vs one with a winged insect let out a small scream as it fell to the floor. It had been deeply pierced by the stinger of the winged insect and dropped to the floor, dead. The fight was now twelve Swarmer''s against nine winged insects. After the death of one Swarmer there was no more issues in the fight as she continually ordered the Swarmer''s to surround the winged insects as she herself kept fighting as well, the remaining nine winged insectsall soon died.
After killing all the winged insects she ordered the Swarmer''s to quickly take the bodies to the back of the cave and pile them up on the now very small pile of other dead winged insects right next to the new pile plants.[Eat, Lay] She ordered the Spawner eat enought to lay four eggs and then lay them. She then ate from the plant pile and then used the gained Biomass to lay four eggs of her own.
[Guard]She then ordered the twelve Swarmer''s to guard the cave entrance and fell asleep.
Four days passed as she ordered the Swarmer''s to guard the cave or gather plants from the outside. Now the eight eggs were hatching.
As soon as they came out their eggs she ordered them all to eat. Once they all ate she ordered them to evolve into two Drone''s, five Swarmer''s and one Spawner.
Once they finished evolving a few hours later she ordered the new Swarmer''s to defend the entrance with the others and ordered all four Drone''s to go outside and gather more plants. After she did this also used her electroreceptive ability to hijack their brains use all of her twenty three of her children''s. Using twenty four total minds she still held below average intellect however she could think of some basic concepts and ideas individually without any of her inherent knowledge. The first thing she thought of was names.
She thought of a name for what herself and her children can be called as a whole, Ahiak. It never struck her to think of individual names or titles due to her always having thought of unity and advancement as a whole due to her inherent knowledge of grouping minds as the first race she assimilated and used to evolve has a hive mind as one of its most prominent features and she just took all their traits, attributes and physiology while keeping the essentials of her original form.
After this she decided to sleep and then decide what to do next once she woke up. She gave back her children their thought processes.
