《The devils journey》 The goblin A cave deep in the forest bustled with the cries of newborn children, the cries became louder and more abundant as time continued to pass. An hour later the cries became deafening as 30 small shriveled babies lied crying and rolling around the dirty wet cave. Standing not far from the group of babies was 15 children like creatures with white skin, long pointed ears, and messy dirty hair filled with blood and dirt. At the forefront of the group was a bigger goblin yet seemed to be long past its golden days as it hunched over supporting itself with an Oakwood cane. On its face there were various scars showing that it had many battles long ago, one of the scars ran along its left eye, the eye in question was opened yet it had no pupil or sign of vision. Within the crying group of newborns there were 4 who sat still not uttering a single cry, the group of crying children also stopped crying after some time and laid still unknown if they are died or sleeping. Disappointment and great sadness flashed through the old goblins eyes as memories flashed through its old eye; the old crippled goblin used to be a human from another planet, maybe another universe altogether. It can¡¯t seem to remember its old life anymore not that it really mattered as it knows its reaching the end of its life. Years ago something that seemed way too long for a regular goblin, even a hobgoblin, on a stormy night inside the cave the old goblin resided for its last moments in life there was another birth fest as crying of goblin babies sounded out despite the flashes of lightning that disrupted the forest making ever animal not dare to make a sound lest they anger the heavens and get punished by lightning. Within the cave the cave held a lot more goblins then it did years later with 100 babies birthed that day. The babies all cried out with pain and fear from the unknown after birth except a small few who lay on the cold dark cave staring at the ceiling of the cave with curiosity and slight curiosity as something flooded their minds.Royal Road is the home of this novel. Visit there to read the original and support the author. One of the few babies is the old goblin who hanged on deaths door all those years later, it turned out that these few are humans from a world not filled with magic and monsters something completely different from this monster filled world that ran on magic, a place where science had no place. For some unknown reason that even years later no one who transferred over from their old planet still didn¡¯t find out. But the few baby goblins all seemed to have some special ability which made them strong, which made them the chosen one, all except the old baby who despite being quite never heard nor felt the voice which granted them their abilities. The useless baby was the one and only old goblin, the only one left of the transferred humans. Even at its death bed it wonders how it survived, mostly the sheer luck and some use of intelligence and instinct. But, all it knew is that all its friends are dead, and it doesn¡¯t have some cheat to help it evolve and become stronger and hard work and determination only gets you so far when you have no talent. The old goblin stood at the birthing chamber every birth season hoping for another group of humans just like it was but sadly it never came. With a small number of survivors and newcomers it decided to officially stay in the cave as its final resting place. The reason why disappointment and sadness flashed through its old eye is because it knew that this was it, it could no longer stop death from overtaking its body and taking its soul to the abyss. The sadness and disappoint disappeared just as fast as it appeared as the old goblins body collapsed where is stood freighting the group of goblins around it. Looking forward as its eyes clouded it wished it could do everything over again and this time it would no longer be a coward as it was in the beginning and let his friends die and let things progress the way it did. But it knew it was impossible, still it wished with everything in its heart for a second chance. Death came swiftly as his eyes closed for the last time never to open again, or so he thought. Many years ago, on the stormy night lightning flashed and scared countless creatures in the forest as piercing cries resounded in a cave full of goblins. Within this group of goblins there were a few who lied quietly with their eyes clouded with information and within that small group every single small baby had information flash through its eyes, all the silent few. The DEVOURER Chapter 2 The group of silent goblins babies quickly joined the others in crying, but it wasn¡¯t for the same reasons as the other baby¡¯s no, they cried because they now understood they were no longer apart of their planet and now they had to live as an ugly weak monster that they all knew and hated: the goblin. The group of babies¡¯ the silent ones included were gathered up by the dirty crude goblins and separated into various groups by the elder goblin. All held by one goblin who claimed the baby goblins as their own they lined up and waited their turn, for the judgement of the elder. ¡°Weak, stupid, ugly, untalented, put in slave group¡± The elder sized the baby that was presented to it respect by a skinny hairy goblin. The ruthless decree of the elder despite the flattering the hairy goblin threw at the elder. ¡°No, elder please look again¡±. The goblin pleaded with the elder goblin, but all its pleading got was a hard hit to the head and a shove out of the way by those behind it. ¡°Damn useless slave¡± the goblin who was beaten for holding up the line held the baby which was given back to him before slamming it into the floor and stepping on his breaking all its bones in its body. The ruthless actions of the hairy goblin didn¡¯t achieve anything except a disappointed and scornful glare from the surrounding goblins. The baby¡¯s lined up started didn¡¯t mind the gruesome display that could happen to them except 15 individuals who started to squirm and cry louder, all this warranted was a vicious slap from the goblins holding the baby¡¯s.The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation. The previous struggling baby¡¯s quieted down after a few slaps now understanding that they are helpless against what is about to happen. Suddenly a screech of happiness sounded out as a goblin held his baby up with happiness at it danced around swinging the baby with it. The baby was apparently blessed by the gods with wisdom and unapparelled talent, despite it being somewhat ugly it would make a fine warrior as you can tell from its stout body and strong limbs despite being just born. ¡°Put him with the soldiers to train and become strong¡± the older decreed as the surrounding warriors moved to take the baby under the protest of the once happy monster who knew it struck it big. Despite its strong protest it was ignored, and the baby was taken from its arms with a yank and a push to the ground. Person after person was assigned to one of four groups: The slave/food group, normal, mage, warrior groups. The goblins out in the slave/food group didn¡¯t crush their babies like the first goblin, only because the warrior goblins wanted more slaves, so they can laze around all day. At the end of the day everyone was put into one of the four groups, the 15 humans who were reborn as goblins were separated among the warrior and mage group all of them except one. One goblin that was average in everything was put among the normal group with most of the goblins, much to the disappointment of its owner. The one put in the normal group was the old goblin who still had information implanted within its brain, but once the elder made its decree and he was left alone with all the other normal babies his eyes which were clouded and could be mistaken for idiocy gleamed and shined with intelligence as the baby¡¯s lips curled in madness as he recalled the words which filled his vision, his ability or rather his title. The DEVOURER, the bringer of darkness and destruction Chapter 3: Mana sight The stormy night calmed down long ago and the creatures all came out from their hideouts and hunted to release their anger and fill up their tummys. For the weak it was a terrible day and for the strong it was a day where they gave into the sin of gluttony. Within the cave which housed the white Goblin creatures there was a baby Goblin who watched everything with a curious shine in its eyes or rather a blue shine in its eyes. This goblin was the old man who passed away from age, as to why or how he went back in time to the moment he was reborn as a goblin, he is lost. But, this is the chance he has always been looking for, this is the chance to change things for the better and to save those who died protecting him and no longer be a puppet for some unknown being who dragged all of us from our home planet. Another curious point which has been bothering the small baby goblin is the fact that this life he has an ability, something he never had in his previous life. He remembers crying by himself for being useless and letting the people he loves die for him. He remembers the helpless feeling as his woman was forcefully taken from him, as his best friend was eaten alive by the king of the forest months from now, or how he was mistreated by some of the chosen and the elder. The reason why the baby was looking around curiously despite knowing this cave like the back of his hand is because of this: [Mana sight]. The information that flooded his brain was just a brief description of this world, my purpose and my ability. The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. Welcome Ben, to the world of Aria, this is a world governed by the strong and built by the weak, this is a cruel world where the bigger fist rules. Here your task is to grow and survive before being shipped off into the war where you will fight in our name. Your ability is Devvvvvvvv---???????????? Steal skills by consumption. The message sounded prerecorded with only some part changed due to necessity, he didn¡¯t understand why his ability name was messed up that way and quite frankly it scares. The message left the baby goblin with many emotions some rage, relief, happiness, madness and sadness. The name the message said sent shockwaves through the goblins small body as he hasn¡¯t heard that name in so long, he¡¯s about forgot that life on his planet. Having a small understanding of his ability, he picked up small critters from the ground and chomped down on them swallowing them after a few chomps, luckily goblins are born with sharp teeth. Chomp after chomp he felt the gooey bug churn into nothing but meat and blood in his mouth before he swallowed and let felt it run down into his stomach but, suddenly he felt something within his stomach turn as the feeling of eating something stopped and instead was replaced with the feeling of hunger and power. Along with the feeling of power came a small ding in my mind with a short name and description of the ability I received from my first meal. Mana sight: Turn the users eyes mana compatible for as long as you have mana, which allow them to see the different mana¡¯s present in the world for a short time. A huge shock is the only thing that was present in ben¡¯s eyes despite knowing this would happen still seeing it first hand still gave him quite a bit of scare knowing the type of power he could take from people. A hunger appeared in his eyes that never was their before after he devoured his first prey anyone can tell that his hunger may never be satisfied. Chapter 4: Hunger A week flew by quickly as the goblins ushered the injured goblins from the hunt and applied very basic medical attention, those who were too injured like a deep claw wound or something that the body and basic medicine could heal were thrown into the slave room to be cooked once they died from the injury. Within that new group of warriors named food was the goblin who claimed Ben as his own. When the claimer of a newborn died they either had to take care of themselves or die out and be thrown in the food category. A week to the goblins is enough for the newborns to be battle ready, the lifespan of the average goblin would be 1-3 years tops, but not many goblins make it to die of old age as they are one of the weakest monsters in the world. But luckily for them they have high reproduction, every other season each slave births new goblins usually amount to two or three goblins a woman. The goblins are known for their pillaging and raping, the goblins raid intelligent races camps and steals the women to become slaves and birth the new generation, an extremely disgusting act. Once they give birth they are killed and chopped up into small pieces and ground into soup for the newborn children. Ben threw up when he first found out and even now as a hard-core veteran monster he still gets queasy thinking about his meal he had a few days ago. After the meal with or rather of his mother he can conclude 5 things. One, he hates the savage creatures known as goblins, he hates himself and he can¡¯t stay here. Two, his power only works on a full body, that seemed like a reasonable conclusion as he was only fed a quarter of her. Three, He is still too weak. Four, He never felt full despite eating everything on his plate instead he felt hungrier and its getting out of control he needs to eat more. Five, he¡¯s tired and his mother tasted good and he hates himself for that thought. A small white child with black hair ran around back and forth in the small damp cave under the curious eye of the surrounding goblins. The small white child wasn¡¯t the only one, though the other children that looked around 4 just sat on the ground fiddling with the rocks, bashing them into their brethren. That small child was Ben who grew from a helpless baby to a semi capable child in one week, the terrifying growth of Goblins would leave one in amazement. Ben looked ahead at the crude looking tent where the elder resided as his eyes shined pure blue.If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. His blue eyes could see a gathering of a yellow energy which represented the vital energy of a warrior. The path of a warrior is one fraught with danger and pain, they must be in constant battle and walk the edge of death to gather the vital energy in their body and temper their body to hold more. The stronger and more condensed the energy the stronger the warrior, for a weak race like a goblin to have some with vital energy even if it¡¯s a pitiful amount is a shock. Vital energy would allow the warrior to crush those without the energy it¡¯s a complete dividing point. Among the group that sat inside the tent there seemed to be two signatures of blue and within that blue was another color. This is the path of mages, they intake the mana from their surroundings before turning it into another energy that they are compatible with, more compatibility the easier it is to change. This is a path of seekers of knowledge. Most would do anything to get the knowledge that they want, they are ruthless beyond compare and intelligent and wise like no other. There was a saying a general said years ago ¡°Never fear a mage in front but a hidden mage is something everyone shall fear¡±. Mages hold great destructive power something unmatched by another class but that requires pure talent and intelligence. So, it¡¯s an unpopular but very respected and feared path, when Ben first came to this world he wanted nothing more than to be a mage especially after seeing his other reborn humans who could use magic to summon natural disasters and kill hordes of people with a wave of their hand. But, he learned he had no talent even as a warrior he held no talent and couldn¡¯t go far. His uselessness became apparent the longer he trained with his fellow old humans. But this life will be different, it will I will make it so. His eyes burned with deep greed and hunger as he stared at the tent before shifting his eyes to the exit of the cave before planning to hatch his escape plan. In another part of the cave his fellow reborn humans were about to be taken out by the warriors to get experience and kill the monsters to become stronger among this group was a female goblin who was dressed in the traditional mage apprentice robe, much to big for her as it was probably pillaged from the corpse of another. She gazed at the small goblin who stared at the tent with eyes filling blue, her same eyes also blue in color didn¡¯t take her eyes off him once as she saw him train by running and jumping around the cave and feed himself by eating critters. She was fascinated by him, she didn¡¯t know why but she had to meet with him. Because she knew that he had to be one of them. Chapter 5: Amelia Ben circled around the cave analyzing the structure of the caves defense system even if it¡¯s a crude one his small adolescent body can¡¯t overcome it. The goblins patrolled the caves entrance alone, walking back and forth leaving a huge gap in the defenses if someone truly knew how to grasp timing. Within the elders tent the group was discussing what to do with the new born goblins who held terrifying potential while Ben plotted his big escape. ¡°We have to train them and make them be obedient, so we can take over the other camps of our race, we must use them to control everyone else¡±. The warrior said with eagerness in his voice and agitation in his step as he paraded around the tent telling his opinion. ¡°No, we must kill them, the spirits whisper of the dangers of keeping them alive, they whisper about a prophecy a horrifying prophecy¡±. This time a mage spoke up and his mage companion also nodded with fear in his eyes. The difference of opinions causes a great unrest in the tent causing tensions to run high as it looked as if a fight would break out between the five warriors and two mages. Suddenly the quiet elder lifted his shriveled eyelids up causing his deep experienced green eyes to shine with a magical light as the tension reached an all-time peak except this time it was all caused by the elder making the goblins in the tent to shiver in fear, especially the mages as they seem to be more sensitive to danger and magic. ¡°What is the prophecy you speak of Oz¡±. The elder said slowly as if he was using all his energy to speak these words. ¡°The spirits speak of a devil rising amongst these children, the spirts refuse to say anymore and I only got this much because my life bound spirit told me after I begged and pleaded. But he refuses to say anymore as he says anymore, and the spirit community would come after it and the king spirit would banish him¡±. The mage Goblin named Oz said slowly and full of hesitation at first but picked up pace to an almost rapid speech. ¡°I see¡±, the elder only left the group with those two words before motioning them to leave and not make any actions. The same time Ben found the flaw in the defense and was preparing to leave during the day his plan was interrupted by the rage filled goblins who left the tent without finding a solution. The defenses were doubled by the angry warrior goblins and the mage goblins tasked for some goblins to be brought to them to help and Ben was one of the few unlucky ones. ¡°Come with me child, you are to be given as a slave to the great mage Oz¡±. The soldier said few words before picking up Ben and placing him on his shoulder as he saw Ben looking hesitant. ¡®Damn, Oz if I recall correctly was a very ruthless mage who liked to experiment on his fellow goblins, turning them into monstrosities and then dissecting them and starting over with new goblins¡¯. Ben thought as he lied on the shoulder of the soldier, ¡®I can¡¯t get off and run either, I¡¯m too weak and I wouldn¡¯t even get 3 meters before a sword would find itself in my back and my body would be delivered to Oz¡¯. Thoughts raced through his mind as he thought of every possible way of escape and then.If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. ¡°Hey super strong looking soldier, I need to use the bathroom¡± I said on his shoulder ¡°Huh¡±? The soldier looked confused yet happy as he has had a hard time being one of the weakest soldiers in the whole company. ¡°But you can¡¯t¡± The soldier said with uncertainty as he didn¡¯t want to deny this nice young goblin. ¡°Please Mr. badass soldier, I bet you must get all the girls¡±. The soldier rubbed his head with a well maybe look on his face. ¡°Fine make it quick I¡¯m going to wait here¡±. The soldier said and ushered Ben forward with a wave of his hand and a come back soon look. ¡®What a nice goblin, I kind of feel bad¡¯ Ben thought as he rushed to where the bathroom was located. ¡®I can¡¯t believe I forgot about the opening in the bathroom designed to let the smell out of the cave¡¯. Ben ran over to the bathroom in the privileged area of the camp where the hold is and crawled out of the small hole before anyone could see. Anyone except a small goblin girl dressed in a mage coat who has always had eyes on Ben. When Ben crawled out and ran to the nearby woods before anyone can notice he heard a small noise along with a small cry of pain behind him. He turned around to be greeted by Amelia, she was known as the mage queen master of the 5 elements. She is an extremely intelligent and talented individual who had innate mastery of all 5 elements, nobody knew who killed her during the great war not even how but one day she disappeared, and no one knew why. Some speculated she joined the enemy forces and others say she was besieged by the top experts of the enemy and was killed by the combined efforts of the top houses of the Averts. ¡°What the hell are you doing here Amelia¡±. Due to the suddenness of the situation and the time sensitivity of everything he accidently blurted out her human name without thinking¡±. Shock overtook the pain which filled her face and she looked at the fellow who garnered her interest for no reason, she followed him once she saw him enter the bathroom as she wanted to corner him and talk to him and find out why he interests her so much. But everything was thrown out the window as she saw him jump out the small window outside and she decided to follow him on a whim, but she slipped out of the window landing on her butt cause her to let out a small cry of pain. She stared at him as her mouths curled into a fascinated smile as thoughts ran through her mind making Ben who was looking at her flinch because he understood that he caught the interest of the Mage queen for better or for worse he doesn¡¯t know yet. Before he could say anything, she snapped out of her stupor and said ¡°I¡¯m coming with you wherever you go I go¡± before sitting up and dusting herself off like she didn¡¯t declare something weird to the horrified Ben. But before he could say anything there was a cry of surprise from within the cave and a sound of rustling and running around by the guards who are searching for Amelia who is one of the few prodigies kept under constant guard. Ben turned around and ran not caring about Amelia who followed him with a weird smile plastered on her white face. Chapter 6: The change Deep within the forest the hot sun bore down on anxious Goblins who ran around searching for something. The trees stood silent, but their branches danced with the wind as if to express the mood of the tree and the forest. Suddenly a painful screech echoed through the peaceful forest causing the dancing branches to stop moving playful and to instead move around threatening those around it. The Goblins rushed to the sound just in time to see a towering tree with bodies littered at its base, there was a multitude of different kinds of corpses ranging from humanoid bones to huge monstrous bones. The one who released the painful screech was a small Goblin who seemed like a recruit, this should have been his first mission and many more to come not his first and last. But the cruel Goblins didn¡¯t care about another¡¯s life especially a recruit instead they were more worried about the new monster that showed up within their territory. The ranks to a Goblins also represent their strength as nobody gets their position unless they kill for it and step on the bodies of their fellow brethren. From strongest to weakest its elder, great, minor, soldier and recruit. The elder has control of the greats and the greats have control of the minors etcetera. A minor warrior stood out and commanded the soldiers, ¡°Go over and get the body of the recruit¡±. The soldier who was pointed at by the minor warrior let out a grunt of anger and a step of hesitation before walking slowly to the towering tree. The soldier became slower the closer he got to the red towering tree. He became close enough to reach out and touch the tree, he stepped over the bodies of the huge beasts and the bones of other creatures wondering how they became this way from a tree. Suddenly the ground started to crack and root like objects came rushing out of the ground toward the stunned soldier Goblin. The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement. The Goblins behind the soldier Goblins quickly backed up as the roots came crashing down onto the stunned soldier Goblin in front of it. The roots split revealing smaller roots which stabbed the Goblin and then lifted it into the air as the smaller roots released a red light and started to pulsate. The Goblin In the air decayed at a visible rate as his bodies blood was sucked dry and his already course skin turned even courser and shriveled until his body became just like the rest of the corpses at the base of the towering red tree. The small roots uninserted themselves from the body of the now shriveled up dead soldier Goblin, the Minor warrior who saw all of this transpire looked in terror at this monster tree. ¡°Boss what do we do, we can¡¯t fight this, we have to go back immediately and report this¡±. One of the soldiers by the minor warrior¡¯s side said with a tone of urgency and fear. The minor warriors face crunched in thought and struggle before he waved his hand in retreat as they all backed away cautiously in case the tree decided to attack them. About 5 miles deeper into the forest a pair of small Goblins laid on the floor with injuries on their body unknown if they were dead or alive, in front of them was a 3-meter-tall bear with cuts and bites all over its body. There was a hole where its heart should be and a trail of blood lead to the culprit, the pair on the floor suddenly twitched as a blue light overtook them wrapping them in its light and bathing them in pure power mana, changing their structure and race into something more. Chapter 7: The Brown Bear The pair of Goblins ran deeper and deeper into the forest unaware that the Goblins that were supposed to be searching for them became stuck on the towering red tree. They ran until they were gasping for breath or rather until Ben was gasping for breath, despite Amelia being a mage and having weak physical strength compared to a warrior path like the present Ben she still lasted longer than Ben due to her using minor enchant wind magic on herself. Despite that she still ended up collapsing first as her willpower didn¡¯t allow her to continue like Ben, collapsing on the floor she gasped for breath as her chest rose up and down violently with an audible breathing sound whooshing from within her chest to her lips. Ben fared better as he controlled his body and breathing to not make as much noise and to receive the maximum amount of recovery from this short break. A few minutes go by and the violent heaving of Amelia has subsided, and Ben has recovered enough to continue running for a while longer. ¡°Let¡¯s go we need to make more distance we don¡¯t know how far away they are¡± Ben said to Amelia who rested on the floor with her eyes closed recovering her magic energy and stamina. ¡°Why are you so desperate to run away from them? I know they are cruel and not like us, but they haven¡¯t don¡¯t anything to make you want to run away so bad¡±. Amelia asked Ben who was surveying the area making sure they haven¡¯t caught up yet. Despite not hearing anything in a while Ben knows a skilled hunter can track anything in the forest no matter the distance not to mention this magical world where you can use cheat like skill and magic to track their prey even all the way across the world. ¡°Let¡¯s just go I¡¯ll explain everything when I know for a fact that we are safe, I know of a village of beast creatures not too far from here. We can rest easy once we reach the town¡± Ben said to Amelie who was intent to get an answer right then and their but suddenly a roar sounded out behind the arguing pair. The sounds of crunching branches and leaves sounded from behind the pair as a hulking brown figure came rushing at them with ferocity. ¡°Shit, it¡¯s a brown bear¡± Ben said as he pushed Amelia out of the bears charge path. Don¡¯t get this brown bear mistaken for one on the planet Ben is from, the brown bear that rushed before them stood at 3 meters and had a big nose and whiskers on its face. Its claws on its hands and feet flashed with a green goop that burned the floor as it dripped down from its claws. Its fur was pointed at its tips causing the attacks of those weaker than it to suffer damage to dare attack it. The bears head smashed into a huge tree causing it to fall on the ground with a large crash, mad that it missed its charge and hurt itself it let out another roar before standing on two feet showing off its imposing image before rushing again toward the pair of Goblins. ¡°Amelia use fire bolt toward its eyes and then use frost on its limbs and finally spam it with earth boulder for as long as you have mana¡± Ben fired off commands in the heat of battle to Amelia who still hasn¡¯t recovered from the near-death experience she just went through. The bears massive face with sharp pointy teeth and horrid cruel eyes kept appearing in her mind like a nightmare. The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation. ¡°AMELIA¡±!! Shouted Ben as he dodged the frenzy of attacks the bear threw at him; Bens shout awoke Amelia from the nightmare. The urgency of the situation suddenly hit Amelia as she recalled exactly what is happening. Ben was getting overwhelmed and was going to shout for Amelia again but then a fire bolt whooshed past his head onto the eyes of the frenzied bear filled with rage. BOOM A small explosion resounded within the forest as the bear roared with pain falling on the ground clutching its eyes. Before it could garner its bearings, Amelia said the chant for frost, freezing its limbs to the ground making it unable to use them for a little. Then finally hand sized rocks came crashing into its body over and over causing its body to thrash around and try to escape form its holdings. ¡°Yes¡±! Amelia screamed at the pitiful sight of the bear believing victory is within their grasp but because she lost focus due to her excitement it broke free from its shackles and barreled to the exited female Goblin. Ben couldn¡¯t even get a shout out at the bear swiped at her slamming her into the ground with slash marks all over her body. ¡°NOOO¡±!!! Ben shouted as rage too over by seeing the girl who followed him was sent to the ground most likely dead. Ben rushed over in a fit of rage jumping on the back of the injured bear and wildly slashing and biting the bear trying to find his way inside the bear despite the pain and damaged it brought to attack the bear. The bear weakly roared and thrashed around as Ben focused his attacks on one area, its heart. Blood gushed from the bear and Ben as he pounded and slashed over and over into the same spot. His nails broke off from his fingers and his knuckles cracked open, but Ben still slashed and pounded with everything he had. His mind went blank long ago and his eyes saw nothing, but the brown bearing and he had but one single purpose: to kill and devour this bear. Finally, the bear succumbed to its injuries and fell to the ground with a thud, but the small Goblin covered in blood and flesh didn¡¯t even seem to notice or rather care. He bore through the fur and flesh of the bear and took out its huge bloody heart and devoured it where he stood. The blood from the heart rushed down his face with every bite, his face covered with pain and ecstasy as he bit down over and over until there was nothing left except a large pool of blood and an injured Goblin. The hunger pain from his stomach seemed to awake Ben as he saw the dead like female Goblin not far from him. He ignored his injures and fading consciousness and crawled to Amelia leaving a bloody trial, before he could get into arms reach he curled over and lost consciousness with his hand outstretched to Amelia as if he wished he could hold and help her. The previous bustling forest became quiet again, but this quietness didn¡¯t last long as blue energy hummed into existence and wrapped both Amelia and Ben in its power and energy leaving a blue light shining on the forest floor and the body of the dead bear. Oscar the Wise one The deep blue colored has long since disappeared in the wind and what was left was a pair of brown colored Goblins who stood around the size of a human. The male of the pair had long flowing black hair which seemed sharp to the point, his long fingers now held sharp black fingernails which looked like small daggers. On his body were runes which depicted a humongous bear that fought against the moon. On the other hand, the female of the pair had no nails and her hair though long was not pointed at the end, instead her body was covered with runes depicting a bear controlling the earth to attack a horde of enemies. Her face became more human like and on her body was a robe which magicians would wear. As to what purpose the clothes serves and as to how she acquired them is a mystery left for another day. The pair of human like brown Goblins lied on the ground breathing softly and calmly making their chest rise and fall ever so slightly. The trees seemed to welcome this new pair of creatures as their family as they danced with joy making small whooshing sounds as their branches shook and moved to an inaudible beat. The forest seemed peaceful and happy no semblance of its former ruthless self was death occurred every second. But, the peace didn¡¯t last long before a creature that resembled a boar came strutting into this small paradise. It saw the two newly evolved Goblins, an easy target it probably thought as a save expression overtook its confident face. Crunch, crunch, crunch The leaves and fallen branches from the previous battle broke under its every step as it picked up its pace causing the sound to become louder and faster as it neared its unconscious prey. The trees which were just dancing with happiness came to a complete stop as they stared at the intruder with hostility. The trees wished they could attack this intruder and save the new additions to their family.Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. Sadly, they weren¡¯t trents and had nothing but thoughts and feelings and were unable to actively attack and move around. Suddenly when all hope seemed lost and the boar became close enough to fit the pair in its mouth a tension breaking crunch was heard as the biggest of all the trees stood up. The tree was the only tree that stood still out of all the previously dancing trees but suddenly two eyes and a mouth popped out from beneath the bark. This is the Trent Oscar the Wise, this Trent has been around in this world for hundreds of year and no body knows exactly where he comes from or how far his power truly lies but long ago after it witnessed the death of its closest friend it decided to lock itself away and today was the day it finally decided to show itself to the world under the pleas of its children. Root after root shot out from underneath the soil leaving fissures in the ground, the roots wrapped around the scared boar as it strangled and blead the beast dry before throwing it to one of the random trees to grow and evolve as it truly understood how hard it is for their race. The forest became overturned with unrest became quieted as one of the overlords of the vast forest rooted itself back in the ground and closed itself off again. But before falling into its eternal rest again its eyes underneath the bark shined as a divination occurred without warning. Shock, pure utter terror also followed as its eyes trembled, it looked at the one its saved as calculations flashed through its mind, too many to count but finally it made its mind up as something cut itself off from the Trent and buried itself in the body of the sleeping Ben. Chapter 10: The giant The pair of Goblins or now Hobgoblins walked down the main street of city and observed the innerworkings of this paradise for monsters. Amelia constantly let out sounds of amazement and astonishment as she pointed out to the various monsters and asked Ben what they were. ¡°Ogre, Leopard beastman, Ant beast, Rhino leg¡±. Ben answered blankly to the rapid-fire question to the curious little mage next to him. At the middle of the main street it branched off into multiple smaller but important streets being the industrial street, business street, arena and finally the residence street. Each of the streets are what keeps this place running and working, despite the pair of hobgoblins technically living here now they reside in the business district as they aren¡¯t official residents, so they must reside in the hotels on business street. Right now, the pair of monsters finished walking around enjoying the scenery and decided to go to the trading street in the business area. What welcomed them was a bustling area with wooden shops up with signs to entice the possible costumers to trade with them. The area was full of diverse creatures ranging from small fairies to members of the giant clan. Within each clan there is always a legend of some great figure who brought their clan to the peak and for some unknown reason the figure disappeared suddenly leaving the clan to wallow and decay to what they are now. For example, for the giant clan there is a legend of a titan, something akin to royalty among the giants. The story is as follows: There was once a poor giant who was the smallest and weakest amongst the mighty giant clan but one day something changed in that tiny figure and the small giant rose and rose taking down enemy after enemy and standing above all literally and figuratively. The once small figure was no more and in its place is a towering giant that was deemed as a titan this brought fear even to the strongest and oldest clans in the world. But one day that mighty figure who held the clan and world on his shoulders disappeared one night leaving the clan to face a fatal calamity from those who suffered under the rule of the giants.Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site. Noe the giants have shrunk to being just a minor family of strong but any sign of a titan and the clan once more faces signs of extinction. All clans have similar stories but the weaker the clan the greater the figure that once rose, all major clans in present world are nothing but the weak oppressed clans who rose from the fall of the mighty figures. What makes this important is that the path of evolution to each of those mighty races has been cut off from existence, before when the figure was ruling the giant clan others could evolve into titans and become strong though weaker than that legendary man. But the day he disappeared was the day the path was cut off, maybe forever. Even before the figure rose to power as a titan there was the path of evolution available it¡¯s just others weren¡¯t talented enough or didn¡¯t know the requirements, the point is that it was available and after the disappearance it wasn¡¯t. This is something that keeps Ben up at night everyday as he recalls this ever time he sees a weakened fallen clan. Ben thought of something suddenly before decisively walking to the giant figure in the corner of the market. That figure who had runes around his neck signifying its status as a slave. ¡°Oh, hello their customers, as you can see this is a member of the former mighty giant clan, he just reached adult hood and is extremely strong and durable befitting the name of the giant clan. Would you be interested in buying the giant, todays a special 2 gold coins for him¡±. The frog like creature said as he saw Ben eying the giant who stood lifelessly portraying its imposing figure. Ben didn¡¯t even bother haggling and just plainly threw the 2 cold coins he made from the animals and herbs he collected from his journey here. ¡°Ah a rich magnificent man, I shall transfer owner ship now, all you have to do is put your hand on the rune and chant the incantation¡±. The frog man said before passing the incantation of ownership to Ben. The frog man ordered the giant to have its neck in arms reach so the ownership may be transferred. The whole process was quick and simple and the giant who was obeyed the frog man now only obeyed Ben, but even though his life is another¡¯s hand without even consulting him didn¡¯t even faze the giant as he seemed to give up long ago. ¡°Lets go¡± Ben said to Amelia and the Giant as they walked back to the inn, within Bens eyes a plan was forming and the hunger in his eyes was growing. Vol. 2 The Monsters Rise Back at the inn there was a stable for animals, within this stable there was also various slaves which were registered to someone inside the inn. Within this diverse group of slaves, one stood out. The slave was a 5-meter big giant with bulging muscles giving it an intimidating tower like image, this giant was on the floor of the barn like structure as it rolled around with pain in its eyes. A blue barrier appeared preventing damage to the stable of the giant, the blue curtain defense seared the skin of the giant but instead of pain, pleasure flooded the giant with every burn. The dense populated street of monsters a group of three suddenly stopped and the one in front a male hobgoblin turned around and looked at one of the rare giant members in its eyes and commanded it to kneel and speak its true thoughts. ¡°I hate you, I hate everything, I want the world to burn and bathe in blood, I want to stomp everyone and regain the former glory of the giant clan, the titan¡±. Commanded by Ben the giant spoke its true thoughts which would be classified as genocide or rather ambitious. The giant looked at its new master with hate as it ground its sharp huge teeth with indignation and anger at its current circumstances. But the giant clan is prideful and refuses to blame another on its current circumstances and the only thing coursing through its mind is depression for how weak it is. Suddenly Ben looked at the kneeling giant and whispered in its ear causing the previous steal like body to tremble and fall on the floor while crying tears. ¡°I promise if you can do what you say then my life will be yours, I will be your shield and sword and the whole giant clan will be yours to command¡±.
