《One Piece No Go No Ken》
Prologue : Monkey D Raoh
Prologue: Monkey D Raoh
Raoh was defeated by Kenshiro, but he lost his life this time. He usually would call for a truce as Kenshiro was not able to put the finishing blow in their previous confrontations. Sadly for him this time, his little brother had grown enough to completely overpower him.
Raoh closed his eyes with no more regret, he could not become the Hokuto Shinken Legitimate successor and had not inherited the secret techniques. Kenshiro beating him did not make him desperate contrary to what was expected.
No, he loved his little brother and he was not jealous of him. Raoh only sought ultimate strength and was searching for his own way. If he could not inherit Hokuto, he wished he could have become a king with his Goken.
However, he became drunk on power and forgot the essentials. He wished he had accepted reality before it went down this road. Raoh was a dreamer, he was a romantic man, but he was imprisoned in this apocalyptic world where Nuclear wars had already ravaged the Earth.
Upon his death, he made a wish to be reborn in a world where his dreams could have become true. A world where men¡¯s aspirations could come to life. Real men sought power, freedom, and adventure. Raoh exactly belonged to this breed of people¡
He closed his eyes and everything became black,
So this was death, he was thinking¡
But suddenly he heard a sound inside the silence and the darkness enveloping him.
¡°Ding!¡±

He was dead the minute before...What if this illusion was snatched if he dallied with his reply? Any other considerations were pushed to the back of his head for now.
He did not like to be measured by everyone¡¯s normal standards, so he picked the skill path. If it was as miraculous as implied he could not pass up on it.

¡°Look, my dear, we have two healthy newborns, twin boys...Which name shall we give to them?¡± A mature woman embracing both babies said.
A man with a hood on his face turned around from the window and looked at her.
He came close to the babies and you could see how terrifying his look was but as soon as he saw his wife and the two little forms he could not repress the smile on his face.
¡°We¡¯ll call them Luffy and Raoh...Monkey D Luffy and Monkey D Raoh!!Haha.¡± He said beaming with happiness.
¡°You''re unusually merry, hihi...¡± The woman laughed. She wasn''t used to seeing her stoic companion be this effervescent.
¡°Um...I have to. You know we won¡¯t be able to stay with them after tomorrow. If the government learns you and I had children¡¡±
¡°Dragon...Well let¡¯s entrust them to your Father, we¡¯ll be able to see them from time to time.¡± The woman was reluctant but she understood the gravity of the situation.
They enjoyed their time with the two children until the next day¡
Ship
Chapter 1 : Ship
(I¡¯ll be using first person speech starting from this chapter)
I watched as my father and mother doted on us both and finally took us to a ship. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention but it seems like I have a brother in this world. His name is Luffy and he is my twin older brother.
I had an older brother in my past life but we did not really get along that much. I mean my biological one of course as I was the eldest in our adoptive family composed of Toki, Ken and I.
It seems this world is not as developed as my previous one. At least that¡¯s the impression I got from watching the buildings¡¯ designs and my father¡¯s ship. My father seems like a very secretive man, he leads some people covered in capes and hoods and it is obvious that they are trying to hide their face or something. They must be wanted criminals¡
Anyways back to the main topic. Our father and mother apparently can¡¯t take us with them. It must be related to their activities. Taking babies with them could put our lives in danger. I overheard them talking about our grandfather someone named Garp. According to what my mother said he is some sort of extremely powerful and influential person in the forces chasing my parents.
They are planning for us to be entrusted to him before their enemies identify us as their children. This way Luffy and I will have normal childhoods and be able to tread upon whatever path we want in the future, besides being labeled as criminals which would limit our options. This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.
From this, I was able to figure out that the mechanics of the situation were not simple. If our parents were really terrible persons, they would not hesitate to make us follow in their dangerous footsteps.
As we were on the boat traveling through the rough sea, I called upon the system and to my surprise, it answered the call. It looked like I had some sort of ¡°Status Screen¡± as the system explained to me.
My stats were very low and they would not go up unless I began to create and develop skills; I was not sure how this would work but just by looking at objects inside the ship I gained my first skill which was called ¡°Observe¡±.
My ¡°Status Screen¡± was like this the first day after my birth;

I was really interested in the place they were going to take us. I did not really understand anything related to stats and stuff. I observed Luffy and discovered that besides the special skill I had our own abilities were not that much different.
¡°Hmm..I¡¯ll go to sleep, tomorrow will be a long day, I wonder what kind of place is that Dawn Island?¡±
Dawn Island
Chapter 2 : Dawn Island
Today I woke up in a really bad mood. Being a baby isn¡¯t all that and it seems that I am subject to mood swings despite retaining my intellect and conscious from my past life. Must be some kind of chemical or bodily reaction. I instantly respond to Luffy crying by doing the same and I can¡¯t control my hunger.
After getting breastfeed by our mother, Luffy went back to sleep while I peed and shat all over the room. If I was a bit older I would have dug a hole in the ship from embarrassment.
¡°Raoh is so cute, looks like he¡¯s fighting sleep. I hope he does not get bad habits in the future.¡± Our mother said.
¡°Well, at least he¡¯s not going to be a sloth that¡¯s something to rejoice for. I¡¯m worried about Luffy a bit Haha¡¡± Dragon laughed heartily.
Our father ordered some crew members to clean me up. But our mother wanted to take care of it, she wanted to get as much ¡°Mother and Son¡± alone time as possible.
Dragon seeing this had a very sad look on his face and he let her alone with the two of us.
A few hours later, people were making noise on the deck. I heard bird sounds and someone signaled that we were getting close to land. Our destination was Foosha Village, a small town on Dawn Island.
When we arrived we did not dock the ship at the port. We went around the island and landed on a plain near an unoccupied place. After making sure that no one followed us, our Father took us both and left the crew with our Mother. They used highly advanced movement techniques and hid from civilians¡¯ eyes.
After running for what seemed like a short time, we had covered a very long distance and arrived in front of a wooden shack on top of a mountain. Luffy cried on the way as our parents killed a lot of wild animals such as wolves and tigers very easily. They only used fists and kicks and did not break a sweat, just punching and slapping away any presumptuous predator trying to stop their trek. This tale has been unlawfully lifted without the author''s consent. ¡°Hahaha!!...Baka Musuko! Have a taste of my fist of love.¡± Eyes glittered in the darkness and an old man suddenly jumped from the shadows attacking the powerful Dragon.
A huge fist, as big as a mountain came towards us and our Father threw both of us into our Mother¡¯s arms before he countered with an even more terrifying punch. A battle started between the two¡
Impacts resounded in the air and the two got sucked into a ferocious combat.
¡°Bang!...¡±
Thunder cracked due to the strength of their blows and they fought for almost two minutes before the old man decided to start laughing like a maniac.
¡°Hahaha!! You¡¯re still as violent as ever. Where is the respect towards your elders? I really gave birth to an ungrateful bastard. Not cute at all¡¡± The old man was, in fact, Garp I realized. Our Grandfather.
¡°Father in Law¡¡± Our mother said.
¡°Eh?...¡± Garp was stunned. ¡°When did you get such a beautiful wife Dragon? And who are these babies? Don¡¯t tell me¡¡±
¡°...¡± Dragon did not say anything.
¡°Nice to meet you, Father, I am¡¡± Our mother wanted to announce her name.
¡°I don¡¯t see you for five years and that¡¯s what you call me for Dragon, to present me your wife and your babies?¡± Garp had a dark face; you could not see his eyes.
Suddenly contrary to the previous impression of sadness and rage he gave, he stole both Luffy and me from our mom¡¯s hands and he started to act like a doting and foolish grandfather.
¡°Haha¡Dragon you made a mistake today. I¡¯m definitely raising those two to become powerful marines.¡± Garp suddenly wanted to be ruthless, his expression was very serious.
¡°They¡¯re called Luffy and Raoh. The one with the angry expression is the little brother and is Raoh¡¡± Our Mother said. She wanted to clear the air before things went south.
¡°Hmph! Do whatever you want old man, I was planning to dump them somewhere anyway.¡± Dragon¡¯s plan came to fruition. Now they could go back reassured about the children¡¯s safety.
¡°Don¡¯t regret when they come for your head in the future,¡± Garp added unsure of what was going on here. He was not the sharpest mind around. ¡°Anyways It was nice to see you, In the future If you plan to have other children I¡¯ll be happy to take care of them. I¡¯ll create the most powerful army to arrest you Haha!¡±
Dragon shook his head and turned around hiding his smile from his father. Our mother wanted to say something, but she only quickly kissed us and left with her husband.
Garp looked at them leaving, and then went back with the two babies inside the house after thinking for a while.
¡°Garp, who are those two babies? You only went outside a bit and you brought another two more freeloaders?!¡± A gigantic woman with a cigarette in her mouth said.
Mt Colubo
Chapter 3 : Mt Colubo
It turned out that the woman who aggressed our Grandfather was called Dadan. Judging from the way she talked to and scolded the mad old guy, they must have been really close. Their relationship was not really clear in my mind, but it was similar to the manner old acquaintances acted together.
¡°Haha...Dadan, since when did you become so petty? One or two children more won¡¯t harm at this point.!¡±
¡°Garp! I will let them starve if you come back with more...So those two are your grandchildren huh? I bet they will turn into gluttons and monsters as well. I¡¯ve been having sufficient headaches ever since you brought Ace here¡¡±
Grandfather laughed in response and Dadan threatened him once more to come up with the money for our everyday necessities. She was acting like a crook and I figured she must be a bandit of some sort. This place definitely was not appropriate for children. I had been living in way worse conditions in the past but I was worried for my brother. Thinking back on it now, I probably shouldn¡¯t have¡
I went to sleep on the bed we were sharing. Dadan was watching over our sleep after Grandfather left. She was taking turns with suspect looking guys that seemed to recognize her as ¡°Boss¡±. Those guys looked very weak compared to the people I saw on my dad¡¯s ship. You could infer that Dadan was not running a very powerful organization here¡
A few hours later, after taking another long baby nap, I woke up totally famished. Dadan did not have the basic knowledge of baby milk, and due to Garp not letting her prepare, she gave us an ordinary one. I hope this does not give us long-lasting repercussions impeding our growth¡
Later in the morning, two strange looking toddlers came inside the wooden shack. The blond one was wearing a gentleman¡¯s hat with goggles on it; the fierce one had messy black hair and was called Ace. He was also living with us here.
I learned that they were called Sabo and Ace; Sabo came from the capital Goa town and he was Ace¡¯s best friend. They often played around Gray terminal, which was a dump, and the forest.
The two of them looked extremely strong considering their age. They were arm-wrestling with the bandits and could beat anyone of them besides the grumpy and bulky woman.
¡°Bang!...¡± Ace¡¯s arm hit the counter as he was once again dejected from his loss.
¡°...You¡¯re a freak like your Grandfather. Still, you¡¯re ten years too early to beat me in a strength related contest.¡± Dadan was fighting exhaustion. This child was a devilish monster. Now that she thought about it, anything and anyone related with Garp was freakish.
Ace looked in the direction of our cradle. Luffy was stretching my cheeks and was shouting funnily.
¡°Baba...Who are those two babies?¡± He asked curiously.
¡°Your little brothers. Garp left them here this morning, don¡¯t ask me anything else, I¡¯m also confused about this.¡± She sighed.
¡°Hmm¡¡± Sabo was coming close and stared at us. ¡°They¡¯re twins. Well, we¡¯ll have more playmates soon.¡± he grinned with his missing teeth.
¡°That is if they can keep up with us.¡± Ace said in disdain.
¡°And we¡¯re not playing around. I¡¯m going to become a very strong pirate and take that guy down¡¡± He finished.
They lost interest and went back in the woods for some more adventure. Dadan snorted and when she turned to us her gaze became somewhat gentler. She lit up a cigarette and went in deep thought. ¡°Garp what¡¯s the deal with those two?... Something is off here. He told me about Ace¡¯s origins, but he did not for them. Their situation must be very precarious for him to be so secretive.¡± Dadan was thinking.
Later in the afternoon, a woman called Makino came from the village down the mountain. Apparently, this place was called Foosha Village and was also part of the Goa Kingdom. I did not really understand the basic mechanics of this world but it seemed that Dawn Island was a very small place where regular people lived.
Seeing how even mountain bandits could live in peace with people from a village, it was clear that there was not a very complicated power structure on this Island. Maybe this was the reason our father had us stay here. It was a good place to remain incognito and lead carefree lives.
You might be reading a stolen copy. Visit Royal Road for the authentic version.
Our days just consisted of this routine. Dadan and Makino were feeding and bathing us etc., while Ace and Sabo were monitoring our growth in wait to bolster their pirate crew operation. Grandfather also came every three months, staying a couple days and making sure that we were developing properly to tread in his footsteps. He totally saw us as elite marine material.
Each time he came he would beat the fuck out of Ace and Sabo with his mysterious ¡°fist of love¡± (Ai no Kobushi*).
Five years went by in this way and now Luffy and I were looking like something.
Ace and Sabo were now eight. They grew even stronger and fiercer than before. Now even Dadan had problems dealing with them. Any animal crossing their path on the mountain recognized them, some would change paths, for the stronger ones they had to run because they had pulled a prank on them before.
Luffy saw those two as his idols and pillars. He was sticking to them like glue and he was difficult to deal with as he was a very warm and carefree person. Despite being constantly rejected by them he did his best to follow them inside the mountain.
Compared to my brother, I grew to be more of a loner. During those five years, I did not spend all my time sleeping. I did develop some skills.
Besides skills enhancing my intellect and brains, I did not want to start training my body early so that my limbs could support the strain in the future.
I was impatient to begin with strength training, but to be honest I was already a monster of some sort. I had Makino bring me all sorts of books from Foosha Village and now I had a greater conceptual understanding of this world¡¯s power structure and Geography.
I had already set my goal as making my older brother the pirate King since he was dead set on this career path. I was destined to conquer the seas with him at his side, and despite Grandfather repeated beating and tortures, Luffy and I did not vacillate.
Someone had to protect Luffy after all, In this life, I did not want to let my family face danger alone. It was going to be us against the world before we separated, going through life and death and sharing hardships and joy.
I had observed Luffy during those five years¡
I was definitely going to make sure nothing bad happened to him. He was not, how to say....A very thorough thinker. He just liked danger and adventure and did not understand fear. So I had to be here to make him understand how to retreat and bide his time.
Even if I reigned over half a continent in my past life I had to wait and become a very powerful adult before I realized my ambitions...Luffy was definitely going to rush and it scared me to death. Pirates like Gol D Roger only became the emperors of the sea when they were old enough to be grandfathers.
Also, another thing that had me worried was that Luffy wanted a small crew. I had to give up on this as I could not convince him otherwise. But I had my own plan. I was going to follow him on a separate division ship and take as many people as I wanted. Once he realized the truth it would be too late for regret...
I had picked up on a lot of different skills in five years and my status window went like this;

My observe skills had already reached a very monstrous level for my age, now I was able to pinpoint caterpillars crawling in the grass from a 400 meters distance.
I could also read and instantly recall the content from a 2000 pages book. This world¡¯s encyclopedia did not hold too many secrets from me. I learned that the smartest man in the world was a scientist called ¡°Vegapunk¡±, and I wondered how my brains would fare against his at this point.
Despite me avoiding training I had picked up on a few physical skills such as running, climbing and jumping. Running boosted my passive agility and endurance stats, jumping my agility and climbing my dexterity, strength, and endurance. I learned from the system that I could transform my skills into something else more powerful with sufficient experience as well as forget them.
However, I could learn as many skills as needed so I did not see the importance of erasing them. I had also rejected a lot of strange skills such as flower picking and nose picking. I mean¡
Those skills were not useless but boosting my stats with them would be too disgraceful and could learn them back later if I desired. I Probably would not though¡
There were way too many skills not to get confused with my status screen so the system divided them into subcategories such as ¡°basic toddler kit¡± (running, climbing¡) or ¡°basic toddler fighting kit¡± (block, evade, attack¡)
By adding more skills into these subcategories boosts were enhanced as the name tag also changed.
The ¡°Nerd Kit¡± used to be called ¡°Bookworm Kit¡± before it evolved and the passive wisdom and intel boost also grew. I was originally receiving a +5 wisdom and Intel before it tripled. Even the experience gained was boosted.
When using skills I did not call upon the different subcategories kits; after all, they were just appellations to reduce the mess in my mind. I called the skills'' names I wanted to use while benefiting from the total boosts from their subcategory.
For example, I could have added the "Observe" skill into either the ¡°Savage kit¡± or the ¡°Nerd Kit¡± because it was related to predatory senses and intellectual skills simultaneously.
But I kept "Observe" just as is because that was my first skill and I was a nostalgic person. I grew fond of it staying at the top of my skill list for this reason.
The units in each stats were calculated in comparison with regular adults abilities. So for example here, a normal person had a sense of 1 while I possessed 34 times more.
¡°Well let¡¯s wait for this crazy trio to make it back and I¡¯ll start intense training with Luffy before he loses his life to an inferior life form here¡¡± I smiled.
¡°I wonder If he¡¯s going to pick up as easily on Hokuto Shinken style as Toki did¡¡±
Idiots learn Hokuto Shinken
Chapter 4 : Idiots learn Hokuto Shinken
Luffy and gang came back with some wild game they threw very jauntily to Dadan. They always had to be patched up with plasters after each of one of their reckless raids inside the forest. Luffy especially as he was the youngest and weakest of the bunch.
He discovered a tribe of mountain monkeys recently and was totally infatuated and absorbed at the prospect of defeating the primitive animals. In a way, he had met his natural rivals¡
I saw them once while following in secret, they were provocative clowns and had heads to slap.
I would probably teach them a good lesson if I was at the receiving end of those taunts.
Although I planned to protect Luffy, I would certainly not act like a motherly figure to him. He¡¯s the older brother after all, and I will just watch from the sides, preventing calamities, while he fights his own battles. He is his own man...Just a bit reckless one is all¡
¡°Aniki, I need to teach you something fun!¡± I instantly came and grabbed his attention. I knew how to push his buttons after all.
Ace and Sabo looked surprised to hear me talk since I did not do so very often. Luffy who was tired from the excursion felt instantly invigorated and asked me what was up.
¡°What¡¯s up Raoh? Don¡¯t tell me you found a new way to make barbecue meat?¡±
¡°...¡±
Food was his priority after becoming the pirate king.
¡°You¡¯ll see soon enough, just come Aniki!¡± I smiled.
I grabbed him by the arm and pulled him outside. Ace and Sabo followed from behind trying to hide, but I could tell their positions. I had ears as sharp as those of a deer and their sneaky behavior seemed to be like kid¡¯s play for me.
Every leaf of grass or rock they stepped on alerted my senses.
I was planning to teach them too so I did not mind, however.
Once they witnessed the destructive nature and horror of ¡°Hokuto Shinken¡± they would jump in and beg for me to teach them. The four of us were all hungry for strength for different reasons at the end of the day. I was sure that they would never feel okay to be left behind by ¡°Baka Luffy¡±.
¡°Hokuto Shinken¡± was a destructive martial art founded by Shuken, an ancient master from China during the era of ¡°Yellow turbans¡±. It harnesses power to perform killing techniques by condensing energy at its maximum inside a single strike. Hokuto especially centers around the mastery of pressure and vital points, either to enhance the body, heal it, or destroy the enemy.
Each Hokuto disciple is more or less suited towards one path, and among us, I was the one with the heaviest fists and most destructive techniques. My body was akin to a bomb while exerting strength and as resistant as lead even when I did not defend myself.
Toki was the fastest learner, but since he did not like to kill he focused his mastery towards healing and evasive arts. But even while doing so, he was the strongest among the three of us. If he did not suffer from atomic radiations while protecting some children...He would probably be the strongest man in the long history of Hokuto.
Kenshiro as the heir designed by our master Ryuken was the most well-rounded.
However we all shared one special trait, once we had a small mastery of Hokuto, other forms of martial arts did not hold any secrets for us. ¡°Hokuto Shinken¡± was the paroxysm of killing arts and once mastered we became natural murdering machines. If Hokuto was the most futuristic hardware, other arts were essentially software¡
All in all, it was difficult to understand for someone who did not practice it. Hokuto touched upon the very secrets of Life and Death as well as energy control¡
The most fearful aspect of it was the enhancement of the body. People only used 30% of their potential while fighting, and this applied to anyone. ¡°Hokuto Shinken¡± gave access to the remaining 70%.
I stopped walking once we arrived near a giant rock. I turned around and asked Luffy to look attentively at my actions. He was not sure what I was going to do. I started to reawaken the memories from my past life and touched some of my vital points.
It was not too long before I recalled everything properly. Five minutes later I was beaming with Lifeforce since I had already reached the peak in a past life and my soul was linked with Hokuto''s mysteries. The Big Dipper star of this world started to shine brightly even in daylight.
¡°Ding!¡±
A sound resounded in my mind.
¡°You have learned a new martial art while meditating!!!¡±
¡°Hokuto Shinken style will be added to your skill list, every other skill related to it will also be dropped inside the subcategory.¡± The system said.
¡°Accept-YES/NO?¡±
¡°Yes!¡± I did not even think about it.
¡°Hokuto Shinken (An utter destructive martial art linked with the energy of stars) has been added to your skill list.¡±You could be reading stolen content. Head to the original site for the genuine story.
¡°Inherent passive boosts : (+STR+HP+DEF+END+REC+HAKI).¡±
I gained a +2 in each of these categories while the system enumerated the enhancements. I immediately felt stronger. I also was sensing some weird energy coursing through my veins. Before I could make a conclusion I was interrupted once again by the system.
¡°Ding! Congratulations Hardening Haki (Busoshoku) has been learned by the host¡¡±
¡°Hmm...I guess this is the Ki of this world.¡± I thought.
¡°Hardening Haki (Busoshoku): A mysterious energy contained inside every person. Host has awakened one of its three forms¡¡±
¡°Hardening Haki passive boosts : (+DEF+END+HAKI).¡±
¡°The skill also gives the host astonishing penetrative power and other marvelous abilities.¡±
¡°Host can grab Logia devil fruit users.¡± The system finished with its tutorial.
¡°...Logia?¡± I was not sure what the system meant. While I heard about devil fruits, the encyclopedia I received from Makino did not include information on them. Devil fruits were very mysterious and information was not made public for some odd reason¡
I got up after accepting the new skills and looked at my older brother.
He was singing a song and relaxed on the ground. His focus instantly came back when he saw me standing up.
Two identical kids were looking at each other in the woods. If Luffy looked like a mischievous kid with bangs on his forehead, I was totally the opposite.
I was always wearing long sleeves and pants, with naturally spiky hair and closed shoes. It was very easy to tell which twin was the most carefree among us¡
To be honest I could not imitate Luffy¡¯s dressing style even if I wanted to¡
¡°Look at this, Aniki!¡± I went to the giant rock and concentrated energy inside my right hand.
¡°Aaaah!¡± Luffy realized the meaning behind my stance. He was worried I was going to get injured.
But before he could prevent me from acting crazy and punch the immovable block in front, a shattering sound reverberated.
¡°Kaca..Krr!¡± Wide cracks spread from the center of the rock and reached the sides.
¡°What? Oi Raoh did you do that just now?¡± Luffy was shocked, stars lit up inside his eyes and he looked at me like the most awesome thing.
¡°Hi¡!¡± The two forms hidden in the background let out aghast cries. They almost fell from the tree¡
¡°You two can come out now!¡± I said.
Ace and Sabo jumped down from the tree and appeared before Luffy and I. They stared at me as if they were looking at some kind of monster. The two of them did not know what to say for a short time before Sabo decided to take the initiative and break the silence.
¡°Raoh...How did you do that? I mean, since when were you so strong?¡±
¡°...¡± Ace still stayed silent but he was not less curious. He had his arms crossed on his metal pipe and opened one eye to listen for my answer.
¡°It¡¯s because I eat vegetables contrary to you three¡¡±
¡°Ahh?!¡± Ace was at a loss and Sabo was frowning.
Even the usually laid-back Luffy did not appreciate my joke. I guess my level 1 Charisma was hindering me at this time¡
¡°...I guess you reap what you sow.¡± I shrugged.
¡°Reap what?¡± Luffy was confused by the proverb.
¡°Ne? Can you teach us?¡± Sabo as the most logical person here took the lead and proposed.
¡°Um! That was my goal from the start.¡± I replied with a smile.
Luffy jumped from joy not asking where I had learned such a strange martial technique. Ace and Sabo were trying to hide their excitement and stared at each other with an ¡°I will not lose against you" look. Those two even cared less for the origin of my secret. As long as they got stronger they did not give a shit.
¡°So, Listen. This is called Hokuto¡¡± I started to teach them the basics.
The crazy trio went home that day with headaches from all the information I dumped on them.
I stayed in the forest that night and continued to train at the spot they had left me. Dadan was worried for me but after they explained how strong I really was she relaxed.
A year went by in this way,
Grandfather Garp came four times and was surprised to find out that we got considerably stronger each time he returned. What surprised him most was that by the end of the year we had all awakened Haki without his help.
Even Luffy who had difficulty comprehending theoretical knowledge reached the threshold for Hardening Haki. He could maintain it for two minutes without breaking a sweat while it took him thirty seconds to recover a quarter of the energy.
During this year the hierarchy of strength got twisted between the four of us. I, who was supposed to be at the bottom before they discovered my prowess had become the natural leader of the gang.
I tortured the three of them with inhumane training methods during the day, and they only ate their meals early in the morning because all they could do once they got home was fall asleep from fatigue and high stress.
Soon their bodies had become familiar with the killing techniques. Luffy adopted my own style, the ¡°Go No Ken¡± which was essentially slaughterous. Due to him being my twin he learned whatever I was talented in faster. I was glad but found it strange how our souls were interlinked¡
Ace was now the weakest among us but the most polyvalent in Hokuto Style beside me. He was like a young Kenshiro so I was not worried. Sabo was very similar to Toki and his style was suited for defense and evasion.
I was happy the two of them were developing so fast since Luffy and I did not plan to set sail with them. They had their own goals. I was still going to make sure that If Ace decided to leave earlier, Sabo would set sail with him. He was as reckless as Luffy, and Sabo had the same restraining effect on him I had on my brother.
Seeing how strong the three of us had become, Grandfather was planning to take us back to ¡°Marineford¡± in advance and register us as his apprentices so we could be under his command.
I was not very enthusiastic at the idea of becoming a marine and even less sailing with Grandfather...He gave us two years before he would take us back not caring for our opinions.
I asked Grandfather how he evaluated my strength and he said I could face a ¡°rear Admiral¡± in two years.
He was shocked because I was just 6 and saw me as his successor. In his mind, he had already identified me as the next ¡°Marine Hero¡± and started to talk about marine duties and stuff¡
A week later after the nagging old man left, news of pirates coming to town started to spread and reached Dadan¡¯s ears. Makino had served them drinks at her bar and liked to talk about how they were different from the rumors.
She had become friends with their Captain Shanks and when I heard the name, I made a connection with a big-time pirate ¡°Red hair Shanks¡±. I needed to see if it was the same person.
Luffy and I were headed to town to meet him today. Luffy, of course, was shaking with anticipation at the prospect of finally meeting with real pirates.
As we were heading down from the mountain I was in deep thought.
¡°What is that monster from the new world coming to weak East Blue for?...¡± I wondered.

Red Hair Pirates
Chapter 5 : Red Hair Pirates
Leaving from my thoughts, the town came into our view and soon we reached it. Growing up, Luffy and I had come to Foosha Village quite a few times to get free juice and food from Makino.
Today we were not coming to play though. I for one, came to confirm and witness the ¡°Red Hair Pirates" appearance. Luffy just idolized Pirates and planned to befriend them if they were cool.
We greeted some of the villagers who we were familiar with and reached Makino¡¯s ¡°Partys Bar¡±. When we arrived at the front door we heard some boisterous laughter, along with the sound of glass cups hitting one another.
Luffy did not wait anymore and stepped into the place. In conjunction with his powerful entrance, he shouted very blatantly.
¡°Who is Shanks?¡± He attracted the gaze of everyone present. The pirates had completely filled the tables and the only few remaining seats were only at the counter.
The place went silent for a moment, and after they had quickly scanned the source of the disturbance, they continued to feast.
I shook my head knowing what was coming next.
¡°You guys stop ignoring me!¡± Luffy was mad for being labeled as air.
¡°Luffy, don¡¯t cause trouble!¡± Makino scolded him harshly to prevent a disaster. These people were pirates, even if they were nice and polite since their arrival.
¡°Aniki...I think an introduction is in order.¡± I said, containing my laughter. This was going to be funny.
¡°Oh!...¡± Luffy cleared his throat and got on top of the counter. Next to him and Makino, a straw-hat wearing man was seated. He glanced at Luffy with the corner of his eyes and took another sip of his beer.
¡°Luffy, get down!...¡±
But before Makino could stop Luffy¡
¡°My name is Monkey D. Luffy, I¡¯m the next Pirate King, nice to meet you!¡± He said with conviction and amiably. There was no provocative hint in his tone, he was just stating a fact in his mind.
The pirates spurted their drinks and started laughing after glancing at the unwavering little guy who even put his hands on his waist, showing a chief¡¯s demeanor.
¡°Oi! Captain, Looks like you got another rival aiming for the One Piece¡¡± The crew joked at the straw-hatted man.
He took another glimpse at my brother and finally opened his mouth.
¡°What¡¯s your goal kid?¡± He locked on me and asked with an amused tone.
The other Buccaneers looked at me with a grin waiting for my answer.
¡°Strongest of the seas.¡± I replied lazily and calmly with one eye opened.
The room was taken over by muteness for a moment. The red-haired guy looked at the two of us and cracked up after removing his hat. A tanned man with dreadlocks chuckled, while another with a long-barreled gun and a cigarette smiled.
¡°Haha! Makino-san two cups of milk for these kids on my tab!¡± The red-haired man ordered.
¡°I¡¯m the guy you guys are looking for, Shanks! Nice to meet you, two brave warriors. Take a seat next to me...Haha.¡± Luffy did not act shy and joined him impatiently. He bombarded him with questions.
We partied with them for a while and Shanks told us about his adventures and all kinds of incredible stories. The crew was making jokes about how clumsy he was sometimes. I was surprised because he did not seem like a klutz. He was very similar to Luffy.
Luffy was totally fired up and tried to steal beer every other second. Makino was keeping an eye on him and he failed miserably. I, on the other hand, did not really care much. I liked alcohol but it also dulled the senses. As a practitioner, I was used to restraining myself in my previous life. Not that I did not drink alcohol¡
If there was nothing else to drink I would have some, but I was not addicted to it.
If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
That day, Luffy and I became friends with the ¡°Red Hair Pirates¡± and after a long and clamorous feast, we decided to return home.
Luffy went to sleep after boasting to Ace and Sabo about how he made pirate friends. I smiled and walked to a clearing in the forest, planning to train till very late. I wanted to make my Hokuto level up in one night. I practiced my skills till total exhaustion and got a direct level up.
¡°Ding!¡±
¡°Hokuto Shinken level up! Having reached a small mastery, the system grants you an additional +5 to each of the inherent passive stats related to the skill. (Total additional boost +7)¡±
¡°Host has also unlocked the martial artist profession!¡±
¡°Accept-YES/NO ?¡±
I clicked on yes instantly. I did not really have the patience to talk right now...My system had both voice recognition and tactile functions.
¡°Martial artist (Description): martial artists are energy masters and have expertise in their craft. They perfect various or one style and develop fighting theories to the peak of humanity. They can learn combat skills more easily than other people. Their grappling, kicks and hand to hand techniques are difficult to predict and counter. Inherent passive boosts (+DEX+AGI+HAKI).¡±
I smiled at the description. I got even more broken and this job was suited to me. I was sure jobs could help me develop new skills and enhance my experience gain rate. I had yet to verify this but I had a hunch¡
Now I had even more methods to preserve my life.
¡°Hokuto Shinken small mastery reached. Host will now gain experience faster and the passive boosts repartition can be allocated according to your choice. Boosts now are of +7 with each level increase. System will go to sleep for now¡ I leave the rest to you.¡±
¡°Thanks!¡± I said not wanting to debate with my apathetic and sloppy system.
I looked at my stats sheet and I was pretty satisfied. Beside my HP and Haki, my stats had a very good increase. Still, I needed to find a way to enhance my HP a little faster.
An increase of +7 would not really do much for me in combat. As the essential stat and most difficult to enhance, I had left me with headaches all those years.
I thought for a while, trying to find a way to cheat the system¡
After a few minutes going over each of the solutions I had thought of before, a dangerous idea blossomed in my small brain.
¡°What if¡¡±
I stood up from the patch of grass and went home looking for something. Everyone was already long asleep. I sneakily made my way to the kitchen avoiding to wake them up.
My ¡°Sneak Skill¡± inside the ¡°Move Kit¡± gained a bit of experience thanks to my performance, but % advancement was still far off. It did not even yield a 1% raise.
I opened a drawer quietly and took out a very sharp knife. This utensil was the one Dadan used to cut the skin from animals the cheeky trio brought each day after their intense practice with me.
It was made up of a very special alloy which my observe skill had yet to identify¡
I took it because other ordinary knives were not very effective against me. Not that I could not cut myself with them, but it would require some effort. I did not want to exert too much strength and inadvertently cut an artery or a vein.
I opened my skin with the tool very carefully and waited for an alert¡
¡°Nothing happened?¡± I was at a loss.
¡°Wait!¡± Another theory surged through my mind.
I deactivated all the resistance and stiffness in my body and applied more strength to the wound.
¡°Ai¡¡± I instantly bled more and felt the pain when I closed on a nerve. I waited two seconds but I was once again disappointed. I went to the sink preparing to clean the knife and go to sleep, but suddenly an alert echoed in my head.
¡°!!!¡±
The system was panicked and woke up roaring frenziedly
¡°Ding!!!¡±
¡°Moronic host has developed new skills while attempting on his life!¡±
¡°Pain Resistance, Survival Instincts and Spartan Metabolism have been learned!¡±
¡°Accept-Yes/NO?¡±
¡°Yes!¡± I was overjoyed and dismissed the system¡¯s nasty remarks.
¡°Pain resistance (Description): Host sweats like a mongrel trying to shake off diarrhea-triggering ache! Inherent passive boosts : (+HP+END).¡±
¡°Survival Instincts: Host¡¯s senses become enhanced during life-threatening situations. Like an injured lion, host becomes very vicious and acquires disgustingly inhumane reflexes. Host¡¯s chances to inflict critical hits increase. Inherent passive boosts : (+SENS+DEX+INT+WIS+LUCK).
¡°Spartan Metabolism: Having attempted on his life at the expense of sanity, host has now acquired unhealthy tendencies. Pleasure can now be obtained from pain and harm. Inherent passive boosts : (Hp*5)¡±
¡°...¡±
I was speechless but my objectives were attained.
After apologizing to the system for what seemed like an hour, it went back to sleep, not forgetting to grant me the initial enhancements.
I got a +2HP*5; in other words, +10HP with just the skill being level 1. I was shocked and laughed in contentment. This skill would evolve very fast considering its nature; I just had to receive hits.
I also gained a +2HP from ¡°Pain resistance¡±, so 12 in total.
The other boosts were nice, but I did not really care for them right now. Having reached my original goal I went to sleep on the bed next to my brother, totally sapped.
Gaining 4% in one night was indeed foolhardy even for me.
At the time, I had no clue that ¡°Survival Instincts¡± would turn out to be a heaven-defying skill¡

Devil Fruit
Chapter 6 : Devil Fruit
Today I woke up in a very good mood. The different skills I had gained yesterday seemed to get me closer and closer to the objective Grandfather had set for me in two years. Become as strong as a Rear Admiral.
I would be very far off from the strongest powers of this world, but unless a vice-admiral came in person for us, which does not happen unless there is a ¡°Buster Call¡±, Luffy and I would be free to act however we deemed fit on the first part of the Grand Line.
I would need more years to confront the top tier Shichibukai and stuff¡ But all in all, everything would be fine for us if we bid our time and grew our strength and experience in ¡°¡§Paradise¡±.
Anyway, I had told Luffy that we would not set sail before we became 10. The reason for that was that I wanted to get as strong as possible for one, but also avoid becoming a marine. Grandfather had already planned to take us back with him once we grew that much.
Yesterday was a day off for our practice. Ace and Sabo were beaming with joy when I had told them that I was going to town. So today I planned to train them a bit in the morning before leaving.
I woke them gently and we took our breakfast before they followed me to our usual training spot.
I let Luffy sleep a bit more, so it was just Ace, Sabo and I. It did not matter that much to me because I would wreck him tonight after we came back from Foosha Village. The best way to motivate him was to use meat...Hehe.
I did not use the same means as Grandfather to train Luffy after all. As my older brother, I had respect for him, despite how dumb he acted most of the time. I used incentives and it worked even better than just throw him to tigers or hang him on balloons¡
He could be stronger with more dedication, however. Ace was closing the gap at a fast pace and it was not sure who would win a fight in 5 months. I won¡¯t even talk about Sabo who was the second strongest of our group. Luffy could not even land a hit on him.
¡°Bang!!¡± Ace and Sabo got in close range and launched kicks and punches at me very violently. They had perfect teamwork. Sabo had mastered the use of weapons and could fuse his Haki with his pipe.
The wind blew as I received both their blows with my two hands. They were in midair and could not make me move. Cracks started to appear beneath my feets.Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
¡°Krr..!¡±
When they wanted to step back I grabbed one of Ace¡¯s legs who was still not on the ground due to the confrontation of our energies. They were both floating as if time had stopped for a few seconds.
¡°Paa¡¡± I used Ace as an object and the weird attack propelled both of them on the nearby tree that got instantly broken. I followed at full speed and did a few somersaults when I got close to where they landed. I jumped very high and after a last acrobatic move, I spun defying gravity in their direction.
I did not use Haki for this move as I did not want to break them but just play a bit. They stood up ready for the incoming blow. They had long since given up facing me one vs one¡
¡°Boom¡¡± My reverse kick broke their united defense very easily and the impact broke a few of their bones.
¡°Aaah!...¡± They were released into the the air once again and crashed at a few different spots.
¡°This is enough for today I guess,¡± I said with an evil smirk.
¡°Raoh I¡¯m going to teach you a lesson one of those days!¡± Ace put back his bone into its socket and told in frustration at the same time.
¡°Brrr!¡±
Sabo did the same and shook his head in desperation. ¡°Give up Ace, he did not even use 10% of his strength. Our objective was to become stronger when we asked him to teach us Hokuto anyway...Our real opponents are on the sea.¡±
¡°Hmph!¡± Ace snorted and ran into the forest not waiting for my permission to leave.
¡° Raoh, go easy on us tomorrow, Haha,¡± Sabo said with a pleading smile and left following behind his best friend.
¡°We¡¯ll make a trip to Gray Terminal tomorrow,¡± I said before his shadow disappeared from view.
¡°Okay!¡± He was puzzled but he did not argue.
I watched him leave and got back into serious mode directly. ¡°Today I need to figure out why Shanks came to our town.¡±
I knew he was a good man from meeting him. But I did not want the results of his quest to cause collateral damage to our town after he left. Objectives which I still was not clear on¡
I was used to having everything in my grasp so I was troubled by his arrival on our Island. The Island was small but there were still a few people related to world nobles in Goa town.
If by chance his goals did not coincide with those people, our village might become a battlefield¡
Putting those thoughts aside I went back home.
¡°Oh, Raoh back already?¡± Dadan was surprised to see me come back from training that early.
¡°Um! We need to make a trip down the mountain today again.¡± I replied.
¡°You¡¯re going to see that pirate again huh? Say hi to Makino for me.¡± She smiled. Dadan was very different with me compared with the crazy trio. Among her adoptive children I was the most reasonable one and never caused trouble for her., so she already saw me as an adult.
She was not essentially wrong to think like this¡
¡°Where is Aniki?¡± I asked.
¡°He¡¯s already gone to town. He went as soon as he woke up.¡± Dadan said surprised I was not in the know.
¡°This guy¡¡± I was surprised but it totally fits his personality.
I bid goodbye to Dadan and descended the mountain skipping steps. There were no beasts on the way to Foosha Village so I could power through the forest easily.
After 5 minutes I arrived at Makino¡¯s bar.
To my surprise, there was no noise inside the bar.
I took a peek inside and what I saw left my jaw open.
¡°Idiot!! What you just ate is a devil fruit for fuck sake.¡± Shanks was yelling very noisily
Raoh vs Mountain Bandits 1
Chapter 7 : Raoh vs Mountain Bandits 1
I walked into the bar noticing the tension. Everyone was on nerves and had grim expressions.
Shanks had grabbed Luffy upside down trying to make him spit the fruit.
¡°Baka! You just ate the Gomu Gomu no Mi! You won¡¯t be able to swim now.¡± Shanks was mad. He was thinking how the fruit was his whole reason for coming here. He had heard about a fruit appearing somewhere here and came to get it.
Yesterday he¡¯d just gotten hold of it thanks to one of his scouts. But this gluttonous kid had to eat it today. If only he had never left his guard down¡
It was too late for introspection now. Plus those bandits had already made him into a bad mood. Just because he did not want to cause trouble did not mean that they could step on his head. If it were at sea he¡¯d dispose of them on a whim.
The funny thing is that when he tried to stop Luffy from acting reckless, the kid ate his fruit in a fit of anger and frustration. Now he only had eyes to cry.
The next time he met those bandits he¡¯d just kill them¡
That¡¯s how much grief they caused him right now. Selling devil fruits was one of his main incomes. Most people in his crew were Haki masters after all¡
Devil fruits abilities were cool and stuff, but how could you call yourself a pirate when seawater becomes your natural enemy? Marines also had developed all sorts of means against devil fruit users.
I saw him thinking about some stuff and asked Luffy what happened. When I realized it my first action was to make sure if my idiotic brother could still use his Hokuto. I was surprised to find out that not only everything was fine but the nature of his ¡°Ken¡± has changed. Due to the elasticity of his body, the ¡°Renkitoza¡± had become supple. He was more fitted for a defensive style now. I did not really care as long as he could still practice. If his specialty was not crushing people he could still go Toki¡¯s style and fight battles of attrition with frightening counters.
¡°Aniki you acted really recklessly today! I won¡¯t be able to help you train anymore. You will have to perfect your own style.¡±This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.
¡°...The fruit was disgusting but I can stretch now. Haha,¡± he laughed. He still had his Haki abilities when all was said.
He laughed foolishly and people around looked at us funnily, not understanding the content of our conversation at all. ¡°What¡¯s that Hokuto thing they are talking about?¡± Lucky Roo asked Beckmann who shrugged cluelessly. He had never heard about anything with such a weird name in all his piracy career.
¡°Luffy I¡¯ll have to see if you develop any other interesting abilities. My trip was made in vain but you can help me and identify the rareness of the fruit. From the way, your body stretches it indeed is a Paramecia...At least that¡¯s what the records say about it. Maybe It is a mythical one or even a legendary one. You¡¯ll have to develop some skills and I¡¯ll examine.¡± Shanks said seriously to him.
¡°Paramecia? The heck is that? Some kind of disease?¡± Luffy scratched his head.
I looked at Shanks and shook my head. ¡°This is how he usually acts¡¡± I apologized.
Shanks laughed and gave up on his inquiry. He realized he could not make experiments with this happy-go-lucky little man.
He ordered some more beer, clearly planning to drink his worries away today. The pirates made very big noise and praised their generous captain.
I did not plan to stay anymore after having realized Shanks¡¯ objective. I was reassured now knowing nothing bad would happen on this Island. A pirate seeking a devil fruit was nothing unusual and it was indeed worth leaving Grand Line to come and take it. If by any chance the fruit turned out to be a legendary one, they could enhance the strength of their crew. If not they could just sell it for a very big sum.
I left the pirates, Luffy and Makino at their own device and re-entered the village, heading for the mountain. I passed in front of the office of the mayor Woop Slap and was suddenly taken by the whim to troll him a bit. He was a quirky old man who very easily succumbed to maddening anger. Seeing him get a short fuse was amusing for me...I know I¡¯m a sadistic person.
Changing my way, I noticed people with swords laughing boisterously near me on the street. They were near a well and seemed to brag about something. I got closer and identified them as bandits according to the content of their conversation. Passersby were doing their best to avoid their gaze and they acted like the town boss.
¡°Haha, Pirates are not much, they were so pathetic not even fighting back after being done in like that!..¡±
¡°Of course, no one can oppose our leader in these parts. He is the overlord of this place.¡±
¡°Still that bartender was very beautiful, next time we should¡¡±
I listened to what they were saying and my expression became somber. Today I would kill people for the first time in this life¡
¡°Don¡¯t worry, this woman lives in this village. She won¡¯t go away, we¡¯ll come back for her once we¡¯re over with our important business.¡± A man with a rat¡¯s face said. He looked to be the bandit leader. They had all surrounded him and acted servilely with him.
¡°Are you guys talking about Makino-san by any chance?¡± I came in and asked with a dark tone.
¡°Yes, that babe from the bar. She has such a nice booty. Haha¡¡±
¡°I can¡¯t wait to tap that ass, Boss I think we should just go now...huh?¡±
The bandits did not turn before...Now they had seen who asked the previous question and were taken aback.
¡°Who¡¯s this kid?¡± One of them said with a bit of lust remaining on his face
¡°Kid, this is not a place to play around. Just get going while we¡¯re still in a good mood!Haha¡¡± The leader scanned me and said.
Raoh vs Mountain Bandits 2
Raoh vs Mountain Bandits 2
¡°...¡±
I remained silent for a few seconds. I just realized I had been naive. This world was not that much different from my past one. Humans tended to develop bad habits. Where there were people, there was a need for comfort.
This was how this world came to be rotten...Once you developed a taste for women, power, alcohol, drugs, etc. you could develop an addiction.
These bandits were the perfect illustration of this. They did not have much money, so instead, they probably used their power to quench whatever carnal desires their bodies craved for. I did not want to imagine all the sorts of atrocities these bastards committed in broad daylight.
These kinds of folks, robbed, raped, killed innocents without batting an eyelid and they probably did so on a daily basis. People from Foosha village were lucky they apparently lived a little far from them. They most certainly came here today here due to special circumstances. But their reputation still reached as far as our port, and they struck fear in the hearts of the residents. Passersby did not avoid them for no reason.
When Shanks did not respond to their open provocation, they presumably associated his behavior with a show of weakness and an admittance of inferiority. These fools had assumably affiliated the pirate with the ¡°Weakling¡± and ¡°Cowardly Chicken¡± labels.
Now that they knew no real man would stand up and protect the appetizing woman, they were sure they could prey on her. After all who could move any big waters beside them here?...Or so they thought.
These fiends had yet found another girl they could insult and humiliate. I could already picture what was coursing through their warped minds, and the revolting things they were planning to do to Makino.
Making a woman fall into depravity brought exhilarating mirth to this type of trash¡
There was no need to think too much about it. When was all said and done, this was just another day among countless ones for the bandits. Spoiling maidens and plundering widows was kind of a craze for these mobsters.
Unfortunately for them, the flower they had chosen to step upon and trample today was part of my family¡
I was convulsing with frenzied fury and energy seeped out of my pores, it formed a swirl of vapor around my body. This wanton mob had awoken some of my inner demons...and those would let off steam on them, only leaving carnage and death in their wake. This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.
In my past life, I was a tyrant. Even before I reached a high level of power, my personality had always been despotic. I won¡¯t lie and tell the truth...I was a cold-blooded mass murderer. I had gone way past the borders of evil and madness, I had gone through a bloody path to become a king. The only difference was that I had achieved this with my own hands. Anyway living in a post-apocalyptic world was messed up in the first place¡
However, I still had my own convictions I tried to remain true to. I was and am still a romantic man, with big dreams. I believed in true love and fought over a woman¡¯s affection with my adoptive brothers. I lost miserably and she rejected my advances, so I had never tasted the happiness brought up by that feeling. But my heart was still yearning for her, just from a distance¡
Even when she loved my little brother Kenshiro, I protected her from the shadows when he had yet to grow strong enough to do so. I won¡¯t pretend that I had never felt frustration and had dark thoughts at times. I was also a human after all, but unlike beasts, I did not cross that line¡
Anyway, those tales belonged to the past. I had no plan to be this chivalrous and heroic in this new opportunity at life, but I would never turn my back on helpless women, especially one that had done so much for me. Makino had fed us, bathed us etc. and I would never leave such a hidden danger like this alive.
With all that said, having such feelings bottomed up inside, killing rapists and sexual deviants were also one of my fads¡ Yeah, I was far from a ¡°righteous¡± man, I was twisted; albeit with my home recipe, but indeed contorted. If anyone asked me I would own up to it.
Suppressing the madness and evil energy enveloping my small frame, I finally opened my mouth.
¡°...That fine booty as you call is family¡¡± I said with a hidden meaning.
¡°Hmm?" The bandits instantly did the math in their heads. After knowing why I approached them they turned to their leader, waiting for him to speak, with brazen smirks.
¡°Looks like we made a blunder today, Haha!¡± After he said this they all started laughing. ¡°So what are you going to do about it kid? That woman is going to be ours and you can¡¯t do shit about it¡¡± He said very shamelessly as if used to such a situation. His face had not even the slightest bit of seriousness, what was in front of him was air as far as he was concerned.
The bandit''s attention was directed back to me with his strong statement, of course laughing even more than before. Some of them shook their heads in pity, they had partaken in such rituals quite a few times.
Whether I agreed to it or not, the woman was going to be violated. The first time they had done it was due to peer pressure, but now they had developed a taste for it.
At the end of the day, none of them cared for my opinion on the matter, and knowing I was alive, not being able to do a damn thing, would add a bit of spiciness to the bland activity.
I pulled my joints, which cracked and said with a shaking tone. ¡° You guys are going to wish for death soon.¡± I smiled evilly and jumped into the mob.
The bandit leader had a palm on his face, trying to hide hilarity. When he removed it his eyes were still closed and he was swaying with merriment. This day turned out to be more entertaining with each additional minute.
He enjoyed seeing these struggling rats the most. They had all abided by rules and principles but ended up begging for their lives. Not one of them was able to defend their honor.
Before I stepped in, he did not really care for that bartending chick, but now he would personally devastate her before anyone else did.
This was why he had become a bandit, for this adrenaline rushing through his veins. Every time he stepped on someone¡¯s else happiness he had such a hormonal rush. He was high on crime.
However the moment he opened his eyes and looked in front of him, he was seeing one of his men impaled by the child, who had raised him over his head.
When the kid removed his hand from the man¡¯s belly, organs and blood spilled on the ground.
¡°Gulp..!¡± He took a big sip of saliva and before he could order his men to encircle the kid, the latter said;
¡°Remember this...My name is Monkey D Raoh and I¡¯m the guy who is sending you to hell today.¡±

¡°Ding!¡±
Just after the bandit dropped dead on the ground, I heard an alarm once again. I wondered what the system wanted with me at this time. This guy decided to wake up when I was in a life or death situation.
¡°Congratulations! Host has successfully beaten and killed a salacious bandit for the first time. Host has taken a life; new job and skills unlocked!¡±

¡°Sanguinary rule (Description): Wise people say that the pen has always been mightier than the sword to resolve a conflict. Host does not give a shit and is now a natural tyrant. System worries for host¡¯s sanity.Inherent passive boosts (+DEF*5+END*5).¡±
I closed the system not waiting for him to go back to sleep. I killed another bandit, this time piercing his heart with a finger. Both of my arms were coated with Haki. I still had yet to master ¡°Full armament¡± according to Grandfather.
Nevertheless, such a punny mastery was enough for those pushovers. The bandits had only ever run rampant on such a small island, in the weakest ocean.
¡°Kill us all? Don¡¯t get cocky because you have a weird power kid.¡± The leader grimaced. ¡°Guys, this is the devil fruit! This kid must have eaten some kind of piercing ability fruit. Don¡¯t get too close to him and fight from a distance.¡±
¡°Devil fruit?...Damn, why did we have to run into such a strange kid today?¡± The bandits had heard legends about the fruits. Some were accurate, others exaggerated.
¡°Don¡¯t let him use his ability! Such a small child is weak if he can¡¯t use his powers. I¡¯ll join in if things go out of hand, try to use numbers for now.¡± The chief ordered his men.
¡°...Idiots¡¡±
¡°Bang!¡± I grabbed two sabers coming at me, the two men in front of me could not advance anymore. At the same time, I lifted both of my legs and kicked two coming from my back.If you come across this story on Amazon, it''s taken without permission from the author. Report it.
I used more power and stole the weapons I had a grip on. The overpowered two fell, and before they could stand up, I threw their sabers behind like projectiles at the previously stunned bandits.
¡°Puchi!..¡± A neck was pierced, the other missed.
Not caring much, I welcomed the other mobsters with destructive fists which shattered their weapons one after the other. I dodged attacks left and right and the group was dispersed. In the confusion, they stabbed and lacerated each other with cuts.
Using this mess I started to launch them left and right with grappling moves, crippling techniques¡
¡°Praa!..¡± Necks were broken, bones were shattered.
¡°Bang!..¡±
¡°Aaah..my shoulder!¡±
¡°Flee...he¡¯s a monster!¡±
The previously arrogant gangsters turned into dastards and deserters. This was a terrifying scene to see. The noise from the fight was noticed by the villagers and the mayor¡¯s office. People began to gather at the center of the village.
¡°Oh Lord!...¡±
¡°This...Eh? Isn¡¯t that Raoh?!¡±
¡°Papa¡¡± A little girl pulled on her father¡¯s pants. She was curious to know what was going on.
¡°Don¡¯t look¡!¡± Her mother said and put a hand on her eyes.
When Woop Slap finally managed to make his way through the crowd of villagers, his face became pale and after shivering a bit he ordered someone to go to Makino¡¯s bar.
Seeing this, the bandit leader smiled; having found a life-saving buoy. He hurriedly followed behind the man.
*****************************
I cleared the gang of mountain raiders after an intense chase inside the town center. I did not let one of them escape or attempt to use hostages. My whole focus was on those trying to step outside our combat zone. No matter if I had to throw them back in or punch them dead, I did it.
¡°Puff!...¡± After having jabbed to a pulp the head of the last runaway, I made my way back to the well from before. Villagers opened a passage for me, looking scared and worried.
¡°Raoh, what happened?!...Why did you do such a...thing?¡± One of the villagers who were familiar with me asked, voicing the thoughts of the crowd. This was not really what he cared to ask, but he had witnessed my fearsomeness already. It was better to figure out if I was a madman at this time.
¡°...Marty-Ossan?¡± I recognized him. I wanted to answer, but I suddenly realized something fearful.
¡°Where has the leader gone?¡± I frowned for a second. ¡°Damn it!!¡± I widely opened my eyes and raced to ¡°Partys Bar¡± not consuming any more time here.
¡°Let¡¯s hope Luffy or the pirates have not left yet¡¡± My countenance was ugly to the extreme.

Reckless Behaviour
Reckless Behavior
On the way to the bar, I was annoyed that I could not arrive on time. After a race of more than two minutes, I arrived on the scene sweaty. I abruptly opened the door and I checked to see if the woman I was worried about was there.
Nobody was present on the scene. I looked around and behind the bar, but I did not see anyone. Not understanding why everyone was gone, I suddenly thought of something.
My fight, of course.
I turned on the field and headed towards the village center.
***************************
Luffy was running with Makino and the pirates towards the center of the village. The villager from before had warned them of the stirring I had caused earlier. The scene alerted everyone and they were stupefied when they heard the narrative of the villager.
Everyone except Luffy of course. Makino knew that I was strong but not how much. In the past, she saw me mistreat the trio of young pirates, but never fight against adults.
When she heard I was fighting off the bandits who had dared to oppose the pirate crew, she panicked for my life.
"Big sister Makino, don¡¯t sweat it, these bandits have had the misfortune to face Raoh, and even before we arrive at the scene he will have finished with them without any injury,"
Luffy said with conviction, doing his best to reassure the young woman. He closed his eyes and smiled radiantly, careful to show all his teeth.
Yasopp was perplexed and asked the young man;
"Luffy how strong is your brother?"
"He''s strong enough to be part of your crew," Luffy answered seriously.
Shanks looked at him with a smirk. Young people liked to say words higher than their thoughts. Who were they? One of the four emperors (the Yonko), the most dangerous pirates of Grand Line.
"Haha ..." Yasopp laughed and said. "Luffy you''re still young and you do not know the extent of the strength of our crew, but I assure you that Raoh could not face our new recruits."
"But it''s really touching that you wear so much esteem towards your brother. I have a son whom I have not seen for a very long time and he should be about the same age as you ... Maybe he has the same character. Um ...! Young people have to dream big after all. Haha! "
"Hmph! I''m telling the truth, look, it''s Raoh who taught me to do that!" Luffy concentrated and his arm glowed with a gleaming black light.
All of a sudden his entire arm was covered with a black substance as solid as steel, but shining like gold.Reading on this site? This novel is published elsewhere. Support the author by seeking out the original.
"Haki !!" Lucky Roo and Ben Beckman said in unison.
"Luffy you know how to use Haki?! Oh dear lord, you''re just six ... Wait, it''s Raoh who taught you to use that, do you say?" Shanks asked.
"Um!" Luffy answered with pride. His little twin brother was a genius.
"Seriously? Who taught him how to use Haki?" Shanks asked again shocked.
"Nobody, one day he decided to teach me a mysterious martial art, Hokuto..Shi..Shinken, then his hand began to shine like me now and he crushed a rock."
Luffy stuttered every time he tried to pronounce that word. He¡¯d rather call it a ¡°mysterious martial art¡±. However his brother had taught him so many times how to correctly spell it that he was touched, so he tried sometimes.
"It was when?" Shanks was amazed. "And what''s that Hokuto?"
"The past year, it''s been a year now ?!" Luffy was not good with numbers.
Shanks and the rest of his crew were in shock. "Captain, do you think maybe? ..." A guy with a bald cut behind said before being interrupted.
"..." Shanks told him to stop. The two boys were too young for such a thing.
"So what''s this Hokuto thing?" Shanks smiled and asked the question previously unanswered to Luffy.
"Oh ... sorry I cannot say, Raoh forbade me." Luffy replied politely.
"No big deal, I really like the bond you and your brother share ...Haha!" He was taken by a very powerful need to laugh for almost a minute. Luffy and the crew looked worrily at him.
Shanks calmed down and said.
"Luffy, this hat is very dear to me, but if it''s you....hold it for me." He reluctantly gave up on it...
"In the future, if ever one of you comes to the new world, you''ll have to turn it over."
"Ok...What''s so special about it?..."Luffy was not too clear. However it was still the first gift a real pirate gave to him, he''d cherish it.
Shanks ignored him and sped up the pace. The pirates were no longer worried about the child knowing the extent of his strength. If he could use Haki, these bandits could not do anything to him. It was just East blue...
Suddenly, a man appeared behind the group.
"Aah!" Makino uttered a cry that alerted the attention of the pirates and Luffy.
"Haha, be obedient and nothing bad will happen to you!" The bandit leader caught Makino preventing her from struggling. He also put a knife under her throat.
He looked towards the group of pirates and saw that Shanks''s expression was dark. He looked like a wild beast that was about to rush on its prey.
"Hmph! One wrong move and I cut that pretty girl''s throat. Hehe.¡± He told while touching the shapes of the girl. Pressing her breasts and buttocks, waiting to satisfy his desires later.
He was going to take a boat and leave here as soon as possible using her as a hostage. The child from earlier was a real demon ... He did not care about his business here, his life was more important than money.
"Captain, I think it''s time to show your true face..." The guy with the bald head said.
Lucky Roo, Yasopp and Beckman laughed. Shanks was almost never serious, but this villain had touched his taboo. The very reason he was fighting was to protect the people who were dear to him.
In fact, any of them could have been the captain of the crew if we looked at the ability to read maps, navigate, organize troops, or think and raise money for their daily expenses.
However, they all agreed that Shanks should be the leader. Why? This was a simple answer.
Shanks was the strongest. The extent of his strength was ... Anyway, fighting him for the captain position was just stupid.
To make up for his lack of intelligence, they asked him just one thing; eliminate any threat against them. It was the main force and the most brutal of the "Red Hair Pirates", which bore its name well.
A powerful captain is a captain against whom no one can rebel and that everyone respects. If in addition, he holds principles it kills two birds with one stone.
"Aah ... Haa .." Shanks was already exasperated. However, it was for a good cause.
He launched a wave of energy towards the bandit and he fell on the spot.
"Poof! .." Oddly enough the bandit fell unconscious but Makino was intact.
********************
"What was that?" I arrived at the place and saw this bizarre scene unfold before me.
Shanks looked at me and asked. ¡°Raoh? What are you doing here?!¡± I thought you were fighting at the town center." Before he could continue he looked at the blood on my clothes.
¡°Perhaps...Did you?...¡± He asked in a serious tone.
¡°Um...Everyone is dead.¡± I answered.
The pirates looked at me like they had seen a ghost.
¡°Haha! I told you didn¡¯t I?¡± Luffy rubbed the knife into its wound.

Raoh approached the group and asked Makino if all was well. The situation could have degenerated and luckily she was not alone. He really had the fear of his life ...
"Raoh, you still have not explained to me why you fought with these thieves," Shanks asked him.
The others also looked at him questioningly. Why was a child his age so bloody? He was completely covered with the red fluid, and judging by his response, he did not leave even one of these bandits alive.
The reason for this fight really had to be serious for him to act in such a cruel way.
"..."
Raoh took Shanks aside and whispered in his ear for a few seconds. When Shanks heard the contents of these words, his expression became green and he was furious.
"I see ..." He said no more and walked to the unconscious bandit. He unsheathed his sword and cut off his head to the surprise of those present.
"!!!"
They were all stupefied by the incongruous action of Shanks. Luffy closed his eyes, it was the first time he saw a live murder. He did not have a soft personality, but he was still a child.
"Captain ... why ..." The bald pirate was perplexed by Shanks'' inappropriate reaction.
"... I will explain later." He said with a look that meant a lot. "For now, take it as it is, we''re pirates after all. I can only tell you one thing... If Raoh had not decimated this group, I would have done it for him!" Another wave of energy rippled out with his last words, which made the pirates shake.
Makino was still in shock. Beckman, Lucky Roo, and Yasopp seemed to realize something ¡
The situation in the village returned to normal. Mayor Woop Slap spoke with Raoh in private quarters. After getting a summary of the situation he understood the ominous actions of the young boy. There was not really any other alternative. He could never have alerted the navy for a situation as particular as this one. In addition, they were mountain bandits. Who would cry for them? They totally deserved what had happened to them.
He directly instructed the villagers not to leave a word of what had happened in the village outside.
After seeing the damage the child had done on the scene, Shanks and his crew breathed sighs of horror. Was it really what a child his age was capable of?
There was blood and dislocated limbs, distorted bodies and for some, they could perceive a trace of despair remaining in their eyes. Raoh had not taken half measures and he went barbaric on these miscreants. The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.
They were already too familiar with this kind of slaughter and the smell of putrid blood that hovered on the battlefield. They had killed a lot, but they all had a first time.
The first baptism of blood was the most difficult to overcome. It forced someone to vanquish the naturally soft and benevolent human nature, in order take someone¡¯s else life. It was no joke, and even the most hard-boiled people would buckle under this pressure if they lacked conviction. Not to mention a six-year-old boy.
However judging by the bodies present here, they indubitably saw that the child did not balk at the sight of blood. He killed without the slightest hint of hesitation ... How was that possible? Was he a murderer in the soul? Nobody could be born that way, it came with experience and maturity.
So unless Raoh started killing people from the cradle, which was impossible, there was no explanation for his expertise and his coolness.
Learning Haki at five was rare, but on the Grand Line, it was nothing out of the ordinary. On exotic islands, sometimes they came across genius children even more abnormal than Raoh. They were merely astonished because he was from East Blue. On the other hand, young children with such a taste for blood was something scary and strange, to say the least.
"... Wow, I''m blown away." Yasopp touched the still warm bodies. He looked at Lucky Roo and said. "Roo, it looks like the kid has more thirst for carnage than you do." After examining the corpses, he was sure the child loved blood, and it was not the first time he made it spill. Nobody could deceive him, and he had an unusual observation and deduction which never failed him. In the crew, no one doubted him on this.
¡°Oh! You mean he¡¯s more sadistic than Roo?¡± Beckman was shocked. ¡°This child is really something then...Haha!¡±
Ben Beckman and the other pirates burst out laughing.
The villagers broke away from the group of pirates. These people were laughing at a scene so traumatic.
It was really a group of bloody mercenaries ...
"Pirates are pirates after all, whatever you say ..." Marty said to Makino.
"No, Marty-San it''s not at all what you think, they protected me just now, it''s just that ..."
"Hmph, Makino, you are really incorrigible, you and your kindness ... Ah ... Ai ... I get it, I will not say anything more." He smiled bitterly and did not give her time to finish the sentence.
The villagers began to disperse while some of the town hall workers cleaned and removed the dead bodies.
Raoh returned from the mayor''s office after settling all the details with him.
He moved to Luffy and the two chatted a bit before finally deciding to return, after greeting the pirates.
Makino went to the town hall and Shanks returned to his inn with his comrades. That night everyone was dulled. Makino was a bit angered after understanding why the fight was triggered, and what those bandits had planned to do to her.
Luffy was totally mind blown, he asked me what was going on for me to go off on those crooks like that. I just answered very vaguely, not wanting for him to discover a side of the world he was still unaware of. I was not really comfortable narrating the events that took place either. I was not even sure that he could understand it if I confessed anyway¡
****************************
We went to sleep after Luffy explained to Dadan how I obliterated and utterly fucked up the bandits.
The next day, we woke up early in the morning. Today we were going to ¡°Gray Terminal¡± with Ace and Sabo, A.K.A the whole ¡°Pirate Kid Alliance¡±. Our plan was to take over the place to gain experience, and also to establish our own headquarters.
This was a good plan because pirates from all East Blue were passing through that area when coming here. This was a black market of some sort and a grey zone the Goa Kingdom was trying to keep under the radar. Once we took over we would become independent. Money was another important issue.
If we could confiscate ships and steal some money we would not have to leave the island on a small or shaky boat and we¡¯d also be the baddest kids around here. How cool would that be? Such a dangerous place to be taken over by kids not even ten¡
I figured it was fundamental to take dominion over such a small place; after all, if East blue was problematic for us, setting sail on the Grand Line later would be a harebrained dream. I still had not thought of a method to hide all of this from Grandfather yet...He was a marine official, so it was best this did not reach his ears. If he learned we were playing gangsters here¡
Sabo and Ace would probably leave in a few months, so this was an excellent design before their departure. When they picked up on my project, they were overjoyed and got their bags and weapons ready for the pandemonium that we would bring to the garbage lot later...
Mobilization.5
Mobilization.5
I took a bag full of food. We were going to war so I was not really clear on how much time we would spend at this forsaken place. To avoid any potential misfits and errors, we had to get some food. Especially with how much my brother ate. Gray Terminal was, in essence, a dump, and apart from scavengers, gang bangers, thieves, and pirates, no one had a really good settlement there.
Stealing food from pirates was a solution, but I had to take preventive measures just in case. Going without food for days or even weeks was not a problem for me as long as I had water, I could be at more than 50% of my full abilities. To be more precise I would be seriously fucked up, and I would drag my body like an undying zombie.
My senses would become a bit dull also. But I had reached a small mastery of Hokuto already. Since this was the case, I was able to boost my brain abilities by +70% once I engaged in a fight, which meant boosting the whole potential of my body, as well as awaken all of my latent abilities.
This was just too overpowered for this Island small-fries, but it would let me keep my life and not die from lack of energy due to malnutrition or lack of food. I will just say this because I don''t even want to go over about my abilities to ward off poison¡
The real reason I decided to stack up on food was that of my three fellow pirates. Even if their bodies were trained in the ultimate killing art called ¡°Hokuto Shinken¡±, their mastery was still shallow and shaky.
I estimated this raid to last for not more than several days, counting how we¡¯d have to leave someone to take over the place and lead in our stead when we decided to go back home. That¡¯d be just ideal since Shanks would only leave 10 days from now. Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
We would be able to be back from this expedition and say goodbye to him in time.
Luffy would be devastated if he left without seeing him one last time, as for me I had many things to ask him before he left. Especially things concerning the Haki
With my system, I had passed over many things. The skills I could develop were very broad. Hopefully, I could create skills that were totally different and contrary to what people in this world were used to seeing.
Growing up, I was against the idea of developing bizarre skills that could have helped me strengthen in advance. On the other hand, I was not at all opposed to the idea of using the system to its full potential. After all leveling up skills was extremely long.
If I was lucky enough, I would get a level in a year while training. I felt like I would not level up a lot unless I fought in life and death situations or put my life at risk. This was the disadvantage of using a skill system, I could get a lot of skills, but I had to develop each one of them in order to become an all-rounder. Unfortunately, no one had so much free time on their hands. I could not really control in which area I would get stronger, depending on the way I lived my life. This was the most unclear part, and I would have to ask some questions to the system or continue to make experiments.
The system had told me that the world was getting stronger along with me and that my birth provoked a change in this dimension. Apparently, I was not supposed to be born, so the world had some kind of automatic response that only ¡°it¡± understood.
I was not really clear on what that ¡°it¡± meant, but he only said that I would find out one day. The system still gave me a hint when I insisted, it was that I was not as special as I originally assumed I was...
Thinking about this I was able to make some theories and conjectures. At least it would not leave me bored¡
Becoming strong was good, but it was also a perpetual quest. Reaching the top of the mountain was the goal, but it meant nothing if no one could threaten your existence.
Anyway, it was time to go¡
¡°Aniki, ready?¡± I asked.
¡°Ooo!!Always!¡± Luffy packed a full bag of meat on his back and joined Sabo and Ace waiting outside the shack.
I shook my head with a huge grin and stepped outside...Today was going to be fun. This was the first step to our adventure.

East Blue, Shimotsuki Village,
Inside a valley encircled by low mountains, the vegetation was of auspicious green. The wind was blowing over the trees, and the sound of an insect army was heard on twigs, trunks, and on the edge of streams. This setting gave an old, warm and peasant lifestyle kind of feel.
On the lower side of this magnificent valley, villages were scattered, some following the others in a clustered manner. The place looked very welcoming and seemed nice to settle in, especially for the elderly. It was the perfect place to take retirement and leave peaceful, carefree, and lighthearted days.
On the high side of the valley, a dojo was located on a small mountain peak.
On the insignia mounted on the roof of this house, one could read the characters "Isshin Dojo" engraved.
This dojo was recognized by the inhabitants of the neighboring villages to be a place where one could practice a martial art from the new world, "Kendo".
It was very early in the morning, and at this precise moment, most of the people living there were still asleep. Usually, if someone arrived here later they could witness children uttering cries full of feelings and faith, while at the same time swinging swords, following a very clean rhythm; orderly and methodical. It was a routine to which they obeyed strictly and assiduously. If you come across this story on Amazon, it''s taken without permission from the author. Report it.
Right now, there was only one girl present. The girl had dark blue hair and blackish brown eyes, she held a sword to her waist and was going towards a training field situated behind a high patch of grass. Once she arrived she unsheathed her sword and began swinging frantically.
If someone was here, they would see the passion the girl held towards the sword, she looked as if every additional swing looked easier, and you could not see any kind of grief coming with the irrational effort she put in the exercise.
She was still very small and had yet to reach her teenage years, but the wind resulting from the sword stances made very loud sounds. If she was a bit older maybe she would provoke a small hurricane due to the strength of the vertical strokes. What was even weirder was that the sword she held was almost as large as her entire frame, but she did not feel the strain of the weight. She was obviously used to the practice and it was to wonder when she undertook such a procedure.
¡°Haa!¡± She finished a series of a thousand swings and sat on the ground to rest for a bit. She was sweaty all over as she spent only fifteen minutes to complete the series.
She smiled and looked at the sky. This was the part she liked the most, relaxing alone here after her routine.
She was born as a woman, but for some reason, her father decided to train her in such a manly art of war from a young age. At first, she was very against this idea, but as the years went on, she discovered the rewards coming with her sufferings and sacrifices.
She was able to beat up people who were years older than her and right now, no one her age had half her metabolism and dexterity. She was a stamina monster and could train from the rise of the sun, till its fall.
However, no matter how strong she got, she felt that she lacked something in her life. She was not sure as to what it was yet, but she really felt an urge for this something...a real urgency, like if she was born for this purpose.
¡°Kuina! Come and get breakfast, your mother is waiting for us at home.¡± A man with a kimono and queer glasses appeared behind her all of a sudden and said.
¡°Dad? I told you before that you need to stop doing this everyday¡¡± She got up and ran behind him joyously.
The man smiled and disappeared with mysterious steps; heading over to the house on top of the hill.
Update & News
Some of you might have noticed that I have not been updating for several days now...
While this is nothing unusual on this site, I still have plans to be a bit more steady with the uploads. Only 365 days in a year so got to try and make the most out of it.
The real problem was that I''ve been sick like a dog and still am, to be honest. I''m doing a bit better now but I could not meet up with a doctor today, so I still don''t know what''s up.Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on the original website.
I have another appointment tomorrow and depending on what this is I''ll let you know If I''ll start writing sooner than expected.
Thanks for keeping up with this series again, and don''t drop it, I definitely have plans for it.
I''ll just ask for your patience until I get better with my health issues. Have a nice day
Im back at 80%
So I still need to rest a bit, but overall my situation has gotten past the worst point.
During this period I have had a lot of time to think, and came up with so many ideas for the novel that I''m grinning alone foolishly right now...Hehe$This book''s true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.
Anyway, tomorrow I''ll probably release a new chap once I''m clear about the general direction of all this brainstorming.
If I had to give hints, I''ll say that those changes mainly concern Raoh''s future crew/allies and Luffy''s fighting potential.
Have a nice evening/afternoon/morning depending where you guys live and stay tuned =)

I took my bag and joined with the group; we were now headed for the forest, and after saying our goodbyes to the bandits, we left the mountaintop, heading straight to the dense forest.
To pass through the various dangers of the forest, was a necessity, at least if one wished to reach one''s destination before nightfall.
Gray Terminal was located at the opposite entrance of the island, just before Goa Town, downhill from the hill after the mountain we lived on. Between this hill and our wooden tent, was the forest which was full of animals of all kinds, each more ferocious than the other.
Until today I had not explored the forest in its totality, but I recognized that the number of violent creatures that existed there was incalculable.
Our island was small in size compared to others, but it was an ideal hunting ground with dozens of predators and herbivores. The ecosystem was complex, even though the bulk of critters was calm and did not stir up human life.
However, it concerned only the majority of them, for the most naughty and abnormal characters of this forest, Grandpa had given us some advice in terms of precaution and caution.
In prospect of the precision and detail of these remonstrances and directions, I arrived at the determination that he had turned up on the island. It yet remained a mystery, however, from which illumination the naval vocation came to him.
After climbing the marches of power in this jungle, what could have moved the old man (who was a young boy at the time) to want to become a soldier in the service of the government? Explore the oceans? He could do it by becoming a pirate or another outlaw. Something that seemed better suited to a wild and savage boy friend with giant lions, tigers and gorillas¡
Knowing the forest from top to bottom, and the location of the dens of dangerous predators on the fingers of the hand, we arrived in front of Gray Terminal after a walk of an hour and a half. We would have been much faster if we did not have to carry all the provisions made during the morning. But the place was still located opposite of Dawn Island.
In front of us was a mass of grey; Gray Terminal was a collection of slums and rubbish that formed small winding mountains, looking like a poor neighbourhood. To be more precise it was really a shabby place, so much by its external appearance that its interior one.
"We finally made it. Let''s go watch and blend in a bit before we go into action." I said a little expended after carrying two bags filled with meat and fruit on my back.
"Okay!" The three behind me were not more revitalized.
"Aniki, go with Ace and Sabo, I''m going to do my tracing alone, for now, we''ll reunite here at the same place in three hours, we''ll take stock of the situation once we get together, I''m counting on you to analyze the criminal groups around the corner ... "I announced before recovering a smaller bag of provisions that I put on my back.
"..." After thinking about it, I rectified my previous statement, "Better considered, Aniki, stay here with Sabo. Ace and I will do, somebody has to watch over the supplies before we find a place for storage. Once we have taken possession of a base, the four of us can better move together. "
"Hey, why can not I come now ..." Luffy was not convinced and sulked.
¡°Well, I know it sucks but I¡¯m taking charge, you need to listen to me for now even if you¡¯re my older bro. I promise I¡¯ll let you stuff yourself a bit when I return...Okay?¡± I tried to mediate.
¡°Yeah, Luffy, listen to Raoh for now. It¡¯s the best way to go about it, we¡¯ll spar together if you¡¯re bored. ¡° Sabo acted accordingly to the situation. This was the reason I chose him for the task. If Luffy and Ace stayed together, they would create a disaster.Love this novel? Read it on Royal Road to ensure the author gets credit.
¡°Cool!¡± Luffy felt more up to the task.
¡°...¡± I shook my head. ¡°Okay, Let¡¯s go Ace!¡± I ran without checking whether he followed. I knew not to act too bossy with this disobedient and rebellious person.
¡°Later.¡± Ace bid goodbye to the two and ran after me.
Ace followed me at his own pace. Several times he had a little trouble catching up to me when I broke the rhythm. My running skill pack was a little too sophisticated for him and several times I had to slow down the pace so as not to lose sight of him. After testing for two minutes I decided to run squarely at the same pace as him.
"..." He looked at me in the corner, supine and friendly at the same time; he would never show his gratitude in a frank way. Everything was a little disguised with him. His character was the height of masculinity and stoicism.
I liked his mannerism since I was a little similar in my past life, therefore, able to understand his taciturn nature. This was partly due to the fact that he was orphaned most certainly. Until today, Grandpa had not told us who his parents were. I was a little curious about the subject, but in due time I would know more.
Knowing that people''s trust could not be bought, I was waiting for the right moment to ask him or Ace the question. I didn''t even know if the child himself knew his origins.
However, I had a clue over the years. He often mentioned Whitebeard and said he wanted to fight and defeat the pirate ¡
For a child the age of Ace, to have so much dedication and hatred towards the gentleman, there must have been some eel under a rock ... Maybe the latter was simply his own father?
If it was true he had a sacred respite to take anyway...He was not near up to the ask for half a century.
"We''re here, Ace follow me discreetly and put that on you." I passed him a cape with a hood that he put on directly.
"What is the plan?" He asked.
"At the moment we are going to ask the inhabitants what is going on here and what are the most dangerous groups," I answered smiling halfway.
"Once we have our answers, we will spy and potentially attack depending how much threat they are. If not we¡¯ll go and reunite with Sabo and Luffy.¡± I finished.
¡°Not bad, To be honest, I¡¯m ready for a bit of action.¡± Ace grabbed his pipe showing his excitement.
¡°Hehe, don¡¯t worry If nothing goes wrong you¡¯ll be the star of the show today,¡± I reassured him.
The houses and the people sitting on the piles of waste were approached one by one. We asked questions about everything, who were the groups in power, the most dangerous people, etc. Most people were looking at my bag of food and I realized that nothing would be free ...
After exhausting half of the resources on my back, we took stock of the information collected. Ace wanted to investigate a little more but I told him that it was not worth it. The reason being that the information that came back was the same after a while, despite offering more than usual.
I estimated three plausible reasons for this :
Either the quantity of provisions proposed was not sufficient. What had to be eliminated already in view of the precarious situation of the residents. The food was always welcome.
Either the information was confidential or dangerous for the lives of the people who gave it. This possibility already seemed much more believable; the only way to survive here was to exercise an outlaw or criminal activity. Those who did not bathe in the middle of the peg lived with the remains.
Or as a final reason; there was no more information than that...
I was still sure of nothing, but in any case, the Terminal was huge and as big as a city. It was more than possible that some information was hard to circulate. But given my experience, everyone knew each other in this kind of slum and what kind of activity they managed.
Everyone was more or less interdependent. Especially in a place where foreigners and pirates swarmed from the outside; it was essential that a spirit of unity be established in the community. I was considering the possibility that some information is hidden to protect the terminal as a whole.
Poverty was watching everyone and it was in no one''s interest that the government should know what was going on here. Even if they hated each other, they had to keep the secrets.
The second hypothesis was, therefore, the most legitimate in my mind.
However, If the second hypothesis was true, Ace and I would not need to move to verify it¡
I said to Ace to follow me, we settled in the middle of a place packed with people, and half an hour later, one of the people we asked questions came back.
This time, however, he was not alone and was surrounded by two young boys with long hair. When I saw them I was a little surprised. They approached us with an inquisitive air, ready to go and beat us for the slightest misstep or sudden movement.
"I give you three seconds to remove these ridiculous capes and tell us who you are! You really have the nerve to come to our territory and cause problems...You are part of the navy surely?"
The darker-looking twin said in a severe tone. He had eyes as profound and mysterious as the desert. He had an enigmatic air about him, and it was clear that he was the boss around here. Looking at him I felt a familiar feeling and the tingling I heard only served to verify my assumptions.
"Ohh ..." I watched the young boy threaten me with interest. He had a kind of white tunic, red pants with weirdly shining metallic sandals, and bandages on his wrists. He was intimidating and something told me he was not to be underestimated. I was not sure but something inside of me identified with the guy. He had a tyrannic aura about him.
"To whom do we have the honour?¡± I replied trying to remain unfazed. ¡°My name is Raoh; my friend next to me is called Ace. Not to brag or show off, but it could be ill-advised to try and oppress us like this without a clear reason..."
¡°...¡± The other twin looked at my composure and nodded to his brother in a strange way. Seemed like he was the brain of the two. He wore a black attire and had earphones on his head. He looked a bit like an airhead and he was frighteningly serene. Kind of an ascetic vibe was surrounding him, but he still appeared like some sort of a hippie.
¡°...My name is Hao, Asakura Hao!¡± He smiled and looked back at me full of defiance.

The beanpole youth who looked no older than Ace looked at me with a challenging demeanor; his sentence from before only serving to accentuate his pride and intimidation tactics. He did not act at all; it was a natural take on life that he possessed. He seemed as if all lifeforms were supposed to bow in awe and appreciation, due to his sole presence. I was amazed that someone living in such a shithole could demonstrate such confidence and authority.
Previously, when I felt an itch when they appeared, I was not sure what was exactly up, but now...It was as clear as day. This little tyrannic boy in front of me was obviously not a natural existence from this world. The system rang at the same time he announced his name.
¡°Ding!¡±
¡°Alien life form discovered: Transcender (Asakura Hao).¡±
¡°Profession (Shaman): Shamans can enter a perpetual and permanent trance state that allows them to communicate with the dead, ghosts, evil spirits, and demons. They practice divination and healing, but also can use the occult to inflict harm and combat.¡±
¡°Asakura Hao-current skills/abilities :
- Summoning (Spirit of fire)
- Dead Link (Can communicate with the unseen)
- Spiritual Pact (Can bind the occult by a contract or a pledge)
- Spiritual Haki (Furyoku, an application of observation Haki and conqueror¡¯s Haki. Host can ask for further details later)
- Oversoul (The shaman manifests the spirit¡¯s abilities inside his body with a fusion. Oversouls forms evolve with experience.)
- Shamanic magic (Uses the occult to perform magical actions)"
¡°Wow¡¡± I was stunned for a moment. What was that transcender thing? And Shamans? It seemed like the system did not lie when it warned me not to feel too privileged. I was nothing special¡
Was this the so-called adjustment the world had to make due to my hazardous birth? If that was actually the case, maybe I would meet more of those so-called transcenders in the future? Damn! This was really exciting¡
¡°So what¡¯s a transcender?!¡± I asked the system curiously inside my head. I was suddenly pumped up for some reason.
¡°Transcenders come from another dimension, just like Host. They sometimes are born with memories from their previous life and thus possess alien skills.¡± The system answered logically. ¡°However host should know that he cannot mention this to them. While some of them have previous memories, some of them don¡¯t. Host could be punished if he awakens their memories forcefully. The skills the Shaman Asakura Hao possess can be talked about, but host cannot elaborate on his existence, that is unless host wishes to experience the retribution¡¡± He finished very sternly.
¡°What? So I can¡¯t have a serious talk with any of those so-called transcendents?¡± I was pouting a bit. What a shame¡
¡°No. Host needs to wait for them to talk about it. The initiative cannot be taken. Also, Host cannot mention the system under any circumstances.¡± The boring fellow replied truthfully.
¡°Oh...Guess that makes it better. I can roll with this.¡± I smiled and concentrated back on the long-haired boy facing us.
¡°So, what¡¯s the deal? Why do you guys want us out of here? We¡¯re just passing through. I can assure you we¡¯re not marines.¡± Usually, I would not give face to this guy. I was the kind of person who just acted irreverently. I had strength so I did not function by people¡¯s standards. But today, I was interested, so I would play with the boy a bit¡
¡°...¡± Ace just stared, not knowing what to do. I could see he was eager to fight, but he was acting calmly, waiting for my instructions. He was definitely itchy for a signal¡
¡°...Hmm.¡± Hao scanned the two of us and was hit with an insidious idea. He smiled swiftly for a second as if preparing a perfidious stratagem. I was crept out for a moment and a chill ran through my spine. What was that guy trying to do now?
¡°Yoh! I think those two are actually little nobles. Let¡¯s capture them and use them for ransom. I bet we¡¯re going to get a great sum out of this.¡± He said confidently.
¡°Aniki...that¡¯s not really good, is it?¡± The younger twin said hesitantly. Apparently, he was not a complete idiot.
¡°Don¡¯t worry, I have a plan. We will do this outside of here and anonymously. Those annoying world nobles won¡¯t be able to track it to Gray Terminal. We¡¯re already in enough deep shit as it is¡¡± He frowned and squinted his eyes when saying this. ¡°Anyway, we need money for your sickness, don¡¯t try and dissuade me.¡±
¡°Okay¡¡± The boy wearing the headphones withdrew a small wooden dagger from his pocket and came forward.
The two boys got in position and suddenly, flames appeared out of nowhere from Hao. Some kind of fiery wasp was dancing inside the bright red flames. It must have been that "Spirit of fire" thing... My observe skill allowed me to perceive most invisible things, but I was not able to see its perfect form. It was some kind of ghost after all¡
¡°Ace, stay here. I¡¯ll take care of this.¡± I said without leaving him a choice. I was not sure about those two¡¯s strength, and if anything went wrong, I could not attend to Ace and protect him.
¡°Eh? Don¡¯t order me¡¡± He wanted to continue but he remembered something Sabo had said.
¡°Okay, but I¡¯ll definitely interfere if it¡¯s appropriate.Hmph!¡± He agreed reluctantly.
¡°Sorry¡¡± I was a bit remorseful, but drastic times called for drastic measures...
Stolen content warning: this tale belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences elsewhere.
I got in close range and showed a provocative look to the two little monsters. ¡°So you think we¡¯re pushovers huh? Do we look like nobles to you? Haaa¡¡± I sighed in resignation. Even if tried to explain they would believe whatever they wanted. I wanted to do things silently when coming here, but I had already provoked a commotion. Crooks had flocked the surroundings, and I could indistinctly spot some underground scouts in the spectating crowd. Those guys were laughing and talking about some evil stuff evidently.
This was a setup...It probably had something to do with the same guy who alerted the children duo.
¡°Come at me!¡± I said insolently and loftily. I wanted to anger them so I could mess up their coordination. I did not know the extent of their power, so it was better if they were not focused and going at full regime.
¡°Hmmph! Yoh, seat back a bit, I¡¯ll show this guy what¡¯s up.¡± Hao fell into my trap. He was too proud to let my provocation slide.
¡°Aniki don¡¯t be reckless, this guy seems strong¡¡± Yoh tried to warn him. It seemed like he could assess some of my strength...Things were getting fun on this Island.
¡°Spirit of Fire!¡± Hao bellowed and formed five fireballs behind him. He controlled one with his palm and launched it towards me with a scary speed.
¡°...¡±I frowned. The pressure resulting from the momentum exerted a pull on the air around me. My movements were instantly restricted and I could not avoid in time. I had to take this attack head-on. My two arms started to shine and vapor came out, due to the coating from Haki.
I crossed my metallic arms in a defensive stance and welcomed the onslaught frankly and uprightly.
¡°BOoom!¡± The fireball exploded on me and to the onlookers, it appeared as if I had been blown up. The place was recovered with smoke and dirt.
¡°Haha! You¡¯re only this.¡± My opponent said victoriously.
Ace looked at him disdainfully not worried the least bit. Yoh was looking at the mess and realized something ominous.
¡°Bro, be careful!¡± He yelled with caution.
¡°Huh?¡± Hao frowned and got back in position.
¡°Not bad...My turn.¡± I came out of from the flames at frightening speed and people could only see a blur with the smoke enveloping the area.
¡°Not good!¡± Hao murmured and directed two more fireballs at my silhouette. It was difficult to aim at me since I was not running in a straight line. Somehow he managed to direct one ball towards me.
¡°Bang!¡± This time I had the initiative so I had invested more energy and dexterity in my attack than the latter. I slapped the fireball towards the sky and climbed on Hao¡¯s position with a devastatingly fast elbow blow.
¡°Oversoul!¡± He fusionned with that wasp of fire and his appearance changed. His white tunic disappeared and he was now shirtless. Even for a kid, he was fit; even more than me¡ I trained a lot but for some reason, my metabolism got stronger from the inside. It did not manifest externally.
This little guy looked like he was on drugs and intense bodybuilding training from the womb.
He was still lean, but that six pack was not something you¡¯d get from playing with toys all day long.
Anyway, I had met a freak today, and I was happy...Hehe.
He welcomed my attack with a fiery kick. The impact of our two blow left a deafening sound floating up the buildings. Fire took over the place and it looked as if Hao possessed small meteorites in each of his blows. they were heavy, fast and burned everything they touched. Upon impact, the blows would cause explosions and craters were formed. We looked like two madmen fighting and the people were absolutely terrified.
¡°Who¡¯s this kid? How can he fight toe to toe with Hao?¡±
¡°We need to report this to the captain. Damn it! yet another freak.¡±
¡°He¡¯s only a kid I bet he has a weakness like that fire monster.¡±
Noises were circulating and I did not really pay attention. But apparently, Hao was one of the top existences here¡
We continued to exchange blows consecutively. I had received a lot of hits; we were about the same strength and unless I used killing techniques, the duel would last a long time. But I did not want to kill the kid after all. This was just a friendly duel and I had discovered two gems hidden in the trash.
After a while, my "survival instincts" took over. I could not control the activation of the skills properly, the requirements were tricky. First of all, I had to face a life or death situation and secondly, the system would automatically activate it. I guess it judged I was in danger now, so it kicked in.
My senses were instantly heightened by three times and I could think more clearly. Everything became easier and slower. I started to land a few critical hits on the poor boy and with the frequency of the blows, he lost some spunk over time.
After a while, he ran out of energy. It seemed like he lacked stamina even if his spiritual energy reserves were almost infinite.
¡°Damn..How do you still stand tall after so long?Huff..¡± He exhaled totally washed.
¡°Secret! Boo!¡± I punched the exhausted young boy in his abdominals and he crumbled finally.
¡°Bro!¡± Yoh ran to pick him up and he looked at me savagely and grudgingly. Scary...Actually, I was more afraid of this one for some reason.
¡°Don¡¯t worry he¡¯s fine. I like you two, I also have a twin brother so I can relate to you two. Maybe that¡¯s why I went easy on him.¡± I started to talk nonsense. My plan was clear right now. Recruit those two for Luffy¡¯s crew. Some of their abilities were convenient and I had to make an experiment with one in particular...If it came to be true. Well, that would be totally broken for instance¡which is cool.
¡°...¡± He did not say thanks but he smiled in relief. He held his brother and lifted him on his back. He lazily made his way through the crowd and snuck away from the crowded area. Everything seemed like a chore to this guy and I liked it. It was just hilarious.
*******************
Ten minutes later. The young boy had arrived behind a collin. There was a small house made inside a tree surrounded by mountains of old metallic machines and dirt. He opened the tree door and put his brother on the bed.
¡°Yoh right? What¡¯s that sickness he mentioned before?¡± I appeared out of nowhere, accompanied by Ace before he could close the door. I referred to the sleeping Hao concerning the sickness.
¡°Nothing¡.??!Eh?¡± He suddenly jumped. ¡°What are you doing here? Did you follow me...What do you want now? You guys won already, leave us alone¡¡± He was freaked out.
¡°I''ll help you with that sickness. I¡¯m kind of a doctor, so you can tell me.¡± I replied honestly. Ace was looking behind not sure of why I wanted to help people who tried to kidnap us before.
¡°...Seriously? How can you be a doctor at your age?¡± He did not believe me. ¡°Anyway, why would you want to help for no reason? We don¡¯t have money, just go away¡¡±
¡°...I¡¯ll be blunt with you. You guys are really interesting. Be my friends is all I will ask for now, in the future I¡¯ll also need your help with something¡.How about that?¡± I smiled evilly.
¡°...¡± Yoh did not know what to answer. His sickness was deadly but he could jeopardize his brother¡¯s future like this.
¡°Yoh...Just accept it.¡± Hao said awakening from his knockout.

Yoh: Aniki you¡¯re finally up?
Hao: Yeah, I was pretty messed up back there. I guess that fellow did not go easy on me. Anyway, you need to accept that opportunity, It won¡¯t come by easily. We should take this chance and cure your illness; whatever we¡¯ll have to deal with after is nothing for you to worry about. If you¡¯re dead all becomes worthless for me at the end of the day.
The twins began a dialogue we were excluded from. Ace looked at all this with his usually distant mannerism. He did not feel like intervening, this had nothing to do with him. Rather he was not sure why I would go out of my way and help those two criminals. From what he¡¯d observed before they seemed to be pretty notorious in this zone of the dump. Logically they should be the boss around here or be working for someone close to that Captain Brent¡
¡°I¡¯ll be waiting outside with Ace, you guys just come warn us when you¡¯ve decided.¡±
Ace and I came out the tree trunk. I had some reservations, but I really needed these two boys to join our strengths ...
Their contribution would be essential and indispensable and I was impatient at the idea of recruiting them. The sooner the better in this kind of situation. The one to strike the first blow would get the advantage here. I did not like to use other people¡¯s weaknesses but I had learned that politics were indispensable when trying to raise an army.
Using this young boy¡¯s sickness in order to get him to work for me was a bit shameless, but I would essentially cure him, not dispose of him. Once he was cured I was free to act a bit more appropriately and maybe become friends with them. People had to rely on each other in this dirty world and nothing was black or white. Life, in reality, was more of a grey color¡
The sooner someone understood this concept, the less they would have problems with their moralities. Remorses was not useless, but they could impede someone¡¯s road to success. At the end of the day, one had to act according to what benefited them the most, as long as it did not cross the boundaries of their code of conduct. I was comfortable with this so¡I had done a lot worse.
Hao : Raoh, you guys come inside, we¡¯ve made our decision already!
I did not pray any longer and I went in to receive my long-awaited answer.
The future of our piracy would depend largely on the participation of the two rascals. They could be the disruptive element on the seas.
Not in the normal way, but rather in the way their techniques and abilities worked. I had a great experience to try in the days to come if I could find what I needed.
¡°You made your choice in the end? I hope it''s a positive answer.¡± I asked a bit expectant.
Yoh looked at his brother apprehensively. The latter nodded shaking his head up and down
¡°So what¡¯s the deal? Made a decision yet?¡± I was playing dumb clearly aware that the tables had already turned. Curing the little guy was the priority. It seemed like a life-threatening illness and anyone but an idiot would mull over accepting my conditions at this time.
If all of this did not seat well with them, they¡¯d find a fix later; right now the most important thing to do was to please the doctor...If they had to run away with the bill or kill me that was a story for another day.The author''s content has been appropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
I had figured out what they had been discussing, and I was sure it was along those lines. Hao was a bit like me, so finding out his plan was a cinch¡
¡°Yeah! We accept your conditions or whatever. Just get to work already and heal my brother. We¡¯ll join whatever group you¡¯re trying to create.¡± Hao announced at the top of his lungs. Yoh also looked a bit more resolute than before as well. He was gripping his fists as if he was going to experience the most difficult torture this world had to propose.
¡°Now the most important question...Can you actually do your job and heal him?! I¡¯m not saying this because I doubt your abilities or anything. We¡¯ve tried all sorts of quacks this last year and one more won¡¯t harm. Still, that sickness of his is weird. I think it got something to do with his arteries or his heart¡He has not been able to do a lot of things properly for a long time now and his health is poor in general. I¡¯m worried he won¡¯t last a long time living in this dump¡¡± Hao explained.
¡°Let me take a look. Take off your shirt.¡±
Yoh: Okay!... (He hurriedly said, a bit flustered.)
¡°Ace, Go and call Luffy and Sabo. We¡¯ll start our next move from here. Bring the provisions too.¡±
Ace : Got it. (Ace left like a tsunami, leaving the door open behind him.)
Hao : Hmmph! That guy has no manners. Did anybody ever teach him doors are supposed to be closed?
¡°Haha...That is¡¡± I tried to find an excuse but the guy was right. I hated this as well.
I touched Yoh¡¯s heart and some of his arteries. Using my Hokuto expertise I instantly associated the clogged arteries with some kind of coronary disease or intravascular problem. It did not really matter to me what name the illness had though. I essentially worked differently from doctors. Doctors needed to identify the illness before using an appropriate means. I just defied nature and eradicated the cause of the illness, rather than the illness itself. Using pressure points I forcefully annihilated any kind of cell aging or malfunction. It was almost on an atomic level. It was like a program telling the body to heal itself automatically. Hokuto was heaven-defying yes¡
After manipulating the pressure points for fifteen minutes he was all set.
¡°Do you feel something?¡± I asked knowing the answer already. There was no incurable disease for ¡°Hokuto¡± and this was just child¡¯s play for me. Toki was able to survive atomic radiations in my previous life and only died because we fought. If he did not force destiny he could prolong his life as much as he needed. Sickness and mortality did not kill Hokuto practitioners, only loneliness and violence did it.
Yoh: I''m ... healed!! Aniki !! my arteries are no longer blocked. I do not have that pang in my heart when I try to make sudden movements. Haha! Thank you Raoh. Oh my god, it''s a miracle.
Hao: What? Yoh, are you really healed? How is it possible, just fifteen minutes passed between when you took off your shirt and now ... Raoh who are you really? (He was totally stupefied)
"Monkey D Raoh is my full name, the future strongest man in the world, that''s if you want to be short ..." I started to blab on my plans and ideals. The "conviction phase" had begun. I had already impressed the two elements in question, now only remained giving them the desire to follow me for real. I did not want to wake up one day and realize that they had fled with all my money, my boat and my clothes¡
The first thing to do was to establish links with the two twins. I told them a lot of stories about my life with Luffy and Dadan. I also told them about our plans to become pirates and how Luffy wanted to reign on the seas as a king of pirates. Hao found all this interesting, he listened attentively. He seemed to be hungry for power and this kind of ambition responded to his profile. Yoh was less interested, he seemed more attracted by the ideas of freedom and vagrancy that the life of piracy proposed. He was a kind of hippie, a free spirit, I ended up giving him the label ¡
Becoming friends was a little too early and sudden, but as the discussion progressed we started to build links. They were not yet ready to tell me about their lives and were mischievous, but I was able to learn some superficial things that helped break the ice separating us. Now they had much fewer scruples about talking to me about certain things.
For example, I learned that the two children were not from ¡°Dawn island¡±. Apparently, they were abandoned at three years old by a group of pirates who seemed to include their father and their mother. They did not go into more details, but if they managed to remember something at that age... They must have been ¡°aware¡± at three years old and even before. Not surprising considering their status as transcendents.
They inadvertently relayed this message and did not develop once realizing their mistake. But it was clear that these two were as mystical I was. What they did not know, was they did not need to take so much precaution ... I already knew of their secret.
***************************
Luffy was approaching the entrance with Ace and Sabo. He looked from left to right, not sure where he was being taken. He was hungry like a ravenous wolf at this precise moment and was ready to devour all the supplies that were in the gigantic bag on his back. He climbed the last dirt march and pushed pieces of tin cans before catching his breath.
Luffy: Where are we? What are we doing here Ace ?!
The poor boy was not sure what was going on right now. All that interested him now was to fill his rebellious and capricious stomach.
Ace: I do not know about it. Do not cause me problems Luffy. All this circus is still the fault of your brother. He met two wacky twins ...
Ace realized his mistake suddenly. Luffy and Raoh both met this criterion.
Luffy: What did you say, Aceee!!?
Sabo:... It''s okay guys we arrived. Let''s not waste time complaining unnecessarily here. Let''s go.
Sabo sighed.
Brent Pirates
Brent Pirates
Luffy came inside like a comet. He looked at the two brothers as if he had just found something marvelous. He could not understand or process that there were actually other people who could be like the two of us. Twins were a special existence in this guy¡¯s world. Meeting those two opened his bubble and he was now attuned to the world a bit more. Things like those seemed to happen huh? I guess we¡¯re not alone on this planet?
Those were the type of questions that were going through his simple mind.
Sabo: So these guys are twins huh? You said you fought with the older one. His name is Hao, is it?
¡°Yeah, this is basically the gist of the situation¡¡± I said. ¡°I¡¯ll give more details later I¡¯m pretty tired right now.¡± I was not going to announce to Luffy that they were going to join the crew. They were my responsibility and I¡¯d find a solution in due time. Anyway, Luffy would never reject them once they became friends first. That was the secret with Luffy...He liked to brag how he wanted a small crew, but anyone he was friends with would suffer a wave of invitation for piracy. He even invited Makino to be a pirate with us before¡
Luffy: Why are you guys living alone here? Your parents...Well, nevermind.
He asked curiously. People liked to think Luffy was dumb because he was a simpleton. He was far from being dumb. Just right now he understood a lot of things without a need for me to tell him anything. How would two boys no older than seven be able to have such a nice home? They cooked and stuff, were able to have chairs, and such an orderly house inside a trashy dump such as Gray Terminal.
Hao: None of your business... Raoh get your ass over here. What¡¯s the plan right now? You¡¯ve cured my brother, but why have you guys even come here. You¡¯re outsiders. If Captain Brent learns of your presence, which I already think he has...
The guy was not ready to talk about this right now. We had more important stuff to do after all so he changed the subject.
¡°That Brent Guy is the pirate from the Grand Line you¡¯ve been mentioning? What makes him so fearsome. You guys are working for him right?¡±
Ace: From what I¡¯ve been gathering he¡¯s been lording over the different zones of the Terminal ever since his arrival.
Yoh: Yes. Usually, pirates from the outside just come, do business and leave the place. This is how we¡¯ve been able to survive until now. People living in Gray Terminal don¡¯t receive help from the government and Goa Town. We¡¯re seen as outcasts and parasites, according to them if they do not kill us this is good enough¡
¡°Who¡¯s they?¡± I asked.
Hao: Goa Town Nobles. They¡¯re related to the world nobles from Mariejois. Anyway, the structure here is pretty simple. Outsiders come and dump stuff here; they leave and we enjoy whatever is new. No one really vies for supremacy and we don¡¯t really fight for the resources. However...ever since that guy came a few months ago, gangs from each zone have become chaotic. Wars have begun between us and he¡¯s come one day and claimed the position of top dog here. We fought with his crew but...He¡¯s got devil fruit users and all sorts of weird abilities.Support the creativity of authors by visiting Royal Road for this novel and more.
¡°So basically he¡¯s stronger than anyone here¡¡± I smiled in understanding.
Hao: ¡ That¡¯s a way to put it. Hmph! Anyway, Yoh and I have been running errands for that guys ever since he came. The two of us are two of the top officials inside his base. Besides the core crew members, no one is really worth our attention. But I¡¯m not sure if it¡¯s a good idea to face that guy Brent...I know you¡¯re strong but.
¡°What?¡± Sabo, Ace, and Luffy also opened their ears widely. That guy was something new to them. Someone stronger than me was rich¡
¡°He¡¯s¡He¡¯s got a Logia devil fruit. You guys know there are different types of devil fruits right?¡± Hao answered shaking when he thought about the fearsomeness of the thug.
¡°Not really but you can explain¡¡± I was not really sure on that subject. It was time for me to get a lesson on the matter.
Yoh: Basically there are three types of devil fruits and devil fruit users. ¡°Paramecia, Zoan and Logias.¡±
Paramecia devil fruits give the user exotic abilities that can help them to do weird things¡
Luffy: Like this? Ham! (eating noise)
He opened his mouth like a hungry monster and it stretched almost taking a quarter of the ceiling. He swallowed half the provisions I allowed him to eat. I shook my head when I saw this.
Yoh: What the heck? You¡¯re a devil fruit user...
Hao: Cool!! How do you stretch like that? (he was marveled by the weird fellow)
Luffy: I¡¯ve eaten the ¡°Gomu-Gomu No Mi¡±.
He answered proudly as if he¡¯d done something worth of praise.
¡°Yeah don¡¯t worry about it guys.It happened like yesterday...literally. I don¡¯t know if his fruit could count as that Paramecia thing¡?¡± I smiled bitterly
Hao: Where did you guys find such a thing? Those are rare. Brent has sailed the Grand Line for seven years but he¡¯s only managed to find one. The other users already had their fruits when he met them.
Luffy: Secret! Hehe.
Hao: No fair!
He pulled on Luffy''s cheeks and they started to make noise close to us.
Ace:¡¡
Sabo:¡.I guess he met his counterpart.
Yoh was also a bit surprised how Hao acted. Luffy had that effect on people. He only did this to very close people. Only to him basically¡
I smiled while observing his reaction in a strange way and he was brought back to reality.
Yoh: Anyway. I think If the only thing he can do is stretch, it should be those Paramecia. So on to the next ones; Zoan give the user the ability to shapeshift into animals and get their innate abilities. For example, if you get a lion zoan type fruit, you could have big and sharp teeth and paws...that is besides being able to transform. Still, follow me?
¡°Ouch!!!¡± Luffy was making a ruckus with Hao. They¡¯d started to punch and mistreat each other. It looked as if they¡¯d started to grapple now.
Yoh: Ahem..! (Throat cleared)
Sabo: You can continue. Don¡¯t worry about Luffy.
Yoh finally noticed Sabo. He looked back at me and seemed to realize something.
Yoh: Really pole opposites...you brothers are really like us.
¡°I feel closer to your older brother although...?¡± I remarked with a hidden meaning.
Yoh: Whatever. So that was for Zoans. Now Logias¡
Hao: Wait!!! (he stopped his little squeamish with Luffy and came eager to review the subject himself) Logias are for those who can transform into an element or a substance. They can also avoid attacks due to their intangible form. They also use that element or matter for attack or defense. This is a bit different from our ability to talk and control spirits. At least for me. You have not seen Yoh¡¯s ability yet.
He took a break looking at his lil bro.
Hao: I guess he does not want to show off right now. His power is pretty cool. But back to the subject. Logias are such a pain to deal with because you can¡¯t hit them. We still have not figured out how to fight Brent and that is why he¡¯s been lording over us for so long¡
His face was serious now when he said this.
¡°Hmm...So basically that guy¡¯s invincible. What¡¯s his power by the way?¡± I wondered so I asked.
Hao: He¡¯s eaten the Wood Wood Fruit (Mokuzai Mokuzai no Mi) and he¡¯s essentially a wooden man now...
Subordination
Subordination
¡°Wood? You¡¯re telling me with your fire you¡¯re not able to beat that Brent? How strong is actually the guy?¡± I was not willing to believe what Hao just said to me¡ He was using Fire skills and wood would normally be the most unwise weapon to use against him. This was the world upside down.
¡°Truth is weirder than fiction mate. I¡¯m not really taking any pride in saying this but our worldview is limited living on such a small island. The thing with devil fruit users is they become creative with time. Brent has fought on the Grand Line and I bet he¡¯s met his fair share of Fire affinity fighters. I mean it¡¯s one of the most destructive elements. You¡¯d figure out that¡¯s what most people would be utilizing to cause ruin and destruction¡¡± Hao paused and smiled bitterly. I agreed with his reasoning.
¡°Makes sense...but where are you going with this? You still haven¡¯t answered my question.¡± I retorted, perplexed where he was trying take this.
¡°I¡¯m not really an expert on the subject, but he¡¯s managed through some weird science application to make his wood so compressed that it¡¯s almost impervious to fire. That¡¯s one of the reasons why he can defeat me so easily, besides being able to avoid physical damage thanks to his logia¡¯s body.¡± Hao made a clearer explanation.
¡°Neat!!¡± Luffy listened to all of this. ¡°So he¡¯s some mysterious wood guy basically?¡± And there you go! I thought¡
¡°Pfft!!¡± Hao laughed and started to make fun of the little guy. They went back for round two while I started to devise a plan with the rest of the guys.
The fight had attracted a lot of unnecessary attention and people must have reported what happened to the pirate crew already. Brent, being the boss around here, would want to gather all the threatening forces. I was strong enough to warranty him sending scouts and recruiting officers here. If I accepted to follow them things would go fine; In the other case¡
Anyway, we had to make decisions here. Fight now or avoid trouble. Things would only escalate from now on and those guys would never take no for an answer. As reckless as I was, I would want to head first into the tiger¡¯s mouth and meet the pirates at their headquarters. I wanted to investigate and take possession of whatever they had stashed there, and I was not sure they would not hide it if they figured out danger was coming at their doorstep.
Fighting and defeating his crew members consecutively was the safest thing to do, but what if they became aware of our true strength in the process? Would they flee, hide their treasures or relocate? I really did not know.
On the other hand, I was not able to estimate the strength of our opponents. In case they were more powerful than all of us, we were basically screwed. I had never met anyone stronger than me, besides you know...Gramps or Shanks. But it was not a fair comparison. Those guys were veterans and battle-hardened monsters. Using them as comparison scale for small-time bandits was disrespectful.Unauthorized use: this story is on Amazon without permission from the author. Report any sightings.
Considering all this, it was not strange for me to become a bit arrogant. However, the experience from my previous life helped me to keep a cool head and be wiser. I was eager to go and fight like a barbaric fool right now. But an inner voice kept me from such irrationality. Good things would always come to the patient. Arrogance and foolhardiness were only useful in precipitating ardent men¡¯s fall. It was pivotal to dissociate bravery from madness.
Time passed as I was considering all sorts of potential scenarios and configurations this could go...Soon I told everyone to pack up their bags and follow me back to the forest. I wanted to avoid the storm first. This was a cowardly tactic some would say, but it was the only thing I could do right now. I was not prepared to meet abnormal existences such as the twins¡¯ and I could not fathom the strength of people being able to tie them down. I had fought a bit seriously against Hao, If I did not use killing techniques he was almost my equal. Anyone else in our group would have suffered defeat against him. Even if Sabo went all out he could not injure him.
So, the best thing to do was to use hide and kill tactics to take out the foes coming our way. Once we had reduced their fighting¡¯s strength we could come up with a better plan.
As we were going back to the forest Hao approached me and took me apart from the group, claiming he needed to have a ¡°serious talk¡±.
¡°You guys want to become pirates right?¡± He asked having observed us and understood most of our motivations.
¡°Yeah, that¡¯s the idea. Ace and Sabo have their own plans. I don¡¯t know exactly why Ace wants to become a pirate but he has set a goal for himself and needs to defeat a certain person. As for Luffy...Well, the guy wants to become the Pirate King.¡± I summed up the situation vaguely.
¡°...¡± Hao stayed silent for a moment. ¡°What?¡± I asked; I did not understand why he looked at me with such insistence. He looked as if he¡¯d come encountered a difficult math problem.
¡°Why?¡± He retorted all of a sudden.
¡°Why what?¡± I was not sure what he meant. ¡°Why we¡¯re aiming to become pirates?¡± I guessed randomly. Beside this what could he want to know?
¡°No...Don¡¯t play dumb. Why would you want to be the subordinate when you¡¯re clearly the stronger guy?¡± The bomb came and hit me with nowhere to dodge. I had figured someone would ask me this question one day but I was still weak against it. I could not go and say I was reincarnated with a brother complex...Could I? It could easily get misunderstood. I most certainly did not lean that way; I was as straight as it comes, but I had remaining guilt from how I handled family in the past.
¡°The thing is¡¡± I started to go and explain my reasons to him. As the others were making a shelter in the form of a hut on a giant tree, Hao and I were having a mature conversation. Before long, they were finished and called us.
¡°Hmm...I get most of your reasons but I feel like you¡¯re still hiding things from me.¡± He wanted to ask for more and you could see the sweat on my forehead. He was indeed a sharp one.
¡°Anyway, I don¡¯t care what your reasons are. My brother and I are indebted to you, so we¡¯ll play along with this. However, I need you to remember this. I¡¯m obligated to you, not your brother.¡± He emphasized and crossed his arms with a mean look.
¡°??¡± I was not sure where he was going with this.
¡°...You can be dense dude. I¡¯m saying I¡¯m your subordinate. Not Luffy¡¯s. Is that clear now? I don¡¯t care how you do this but you''ll need to find a way and tell this to him. If not, I¡¯m sorry but we¡¯ll have to renege on our promise.¡±
¡°But¡¡± I was stopped before I could continue.
¡°No buts and If. Figure this out on your own. That brother of yours is a cool guy but let¡¯s be real. You and I are more alike!¡± He smiled and left before I could try and find excuses.
Brewing trouble

In a different direction, a group of mendicants gathered in a formation around a cave. The entrance to the grotto was huge and impressive. About twenty people could enter at the same time, so it indeed was spacious.
The group seemed to be waiting for the arrival of an important person. We could feel the nervousness on the faces of these people. Some nibbled their nails, while others went around in circles, pacing.
They were all dressed modestly and rather rudely, like ruffians.
The person in front seemed to be key and showed less nervousness than the others. The guy''s name was Argos and he was one of the leading scouts for the Brent¡¯s Pirates. He had attended the duel between the two children and came here to request reinforcement. His flimsy strength was not up to par. Recruiting Raoh was going to prove too difficult for him, and if things went south he might lose his life.
He took out a kind of perverse looking snail from his pocket. The animal was oddly behaved and vibrated while moaning curious noises.
"Purupuru ...!" Was the sound emanating from its mouth. If you watched it carefully, you would see that the slowpoke appeared to be a conscious animal. Its eyes clearly showed wisdom no matter how weird they looked.
Argos picked up the device and put it to his ear. ¡°Where are you?¡± A manly but peasant voice came out from the tool and asked. There was a mature charm to the sound, and if this person was a singer he would definitely be be a country music star.
¡°At the entrance of the dungeon, sir. I¡¯m sorry I have to bother you with such a meaningless task, but I hoped I could ask for reinforcement for this operation.¡± Argos apologized. He knew how volatile the guy at the other end was; unfortunately, he could not afford to be in his bad books.
¡°From your report, this upcoming kid beat Hao. Are you sure there is no mistake?¡± The mysterious voice asked.
¡°Yes. As incredible as it seems, it is true sir.¡± Argos asserted submissively.
¡°Where is that kid coming from?¡± The voice inquired curiously. Freakish kids were emerging one after the next. This was East blue goddammit!
¡°No clue yet. We¡¯re working on his background. He just appeared today in Gray Terminal.¡± Argos replied.
¡°...Hmm.¡± The guy remained silent for a few seconds.
¡°Sir?¡± Argos was dancing on the tip of his toes.
¡°I¡¯m in the middle of something here, so I won¡¯t be able to come in person. I¡¯ll send you Lena as a replacement. She¡¯ll act in my stead so listen to anything she says. I¡¯m counting on you, don¡¯t disappoint me.¡± He ordered without leaving leeway for any argument.
¡°Lena-san?!...¡± Argos was not feeling well all of a sudden. He was trying to wipe the sweat off his back.
People who heard him behind also gasped at the mention of that name. She was one of the Brent¡¯s pirates top officials, and as such she was extremely competent; her reputation only inferior to the Captain. However, her fearfulness matched Brent''s. There was one essentially significant reason for this, besides her cruelty and whimsical nature...Her special status!
Lena was Captain Brent¡¯s wife!...As such, it did not matter if you were right or wrong when confronting her. Once she was offended, you could only end up as dead meat.
Ever since Brent disembarked on Dawn Island and established his influence, the number of people who died was countless. He did this to show his authority and repress rebellions. But the number of deaths that were caused by this woman were more numerous.
She did not kill people personally...She just needed to leave a few words to her loyal dogs and they would brutally murder the offenders to ensure she was respected. Because of Lena people were having nightmares. She was this Island¡¯s biggest calamity¡
¡°Any problem?¡± The man asked mischievously.
¡°No problem at all sir,¡± Argos remembered he was not even an official member of the crew. He¡¯d been poached when Brent arrived on Dawn Island and some of his crewmates took an unhealthy liking to his daughters...If he wanted to fight back he would have done so before. He sighed, exceeded by the events that ruined his poor but honorable life.
He would have to endure. That¡¯s what he told himself every day he woke up; except he did not really know what he lived for anymore. His daughters had long since been defiled and enslaved by the barbaric folks. He could not even bear to look at their face. He was only glad that his wife was too old and ugly for those beasts¡¯ liking.Unauthorized reproduction: this story has been taken without approval. Report sightings.
Argos was a professional tracker and hunter. He knew Dawn Island like the back of his hand and that¡¯s why he¡¯s been chosen as a scout. He would have never guessed that the many years he spent studying the place¡¯s fauna and geography would serve this purpose.
¡°Good! Wait here for a few minutes. She¡¯s on her way to the entrance.¡± The man said, satisfied with Argos¡¯s lack of resistance.
Twelve minutes later, a cold beauty appeared at the entrance of the cave. She looked no less old than thirty; exuding an intoxicatingly mature charm. She wore a purple attire and wore black leggings with the sexy robes. It was difficult to look away as she shook her feminine but deadly curves. They knew better than this so they mustered their will and suppressed their urges. They¡¯d personally witnessed their comrades¡¯ demises.
¡°Let¡¯s go!¡± Lena did not even take a glance at the men and ordered Argos. She gracefully but aggressively walked in the lead, heading for the trees conglomerate.
¡°...God help me.¡± Argos mumbled and followed. He did not like to take orders from women but he had already his man card revoked for a long time now. The men looked sympathetically as they dispersed and left the area.
***********************
Inside the cave, a group of people was fighting a weird creature. The monster was a small mountain of muscles and veins. He was oddly green and his disturbing red eyes were reflecting the horrors of the depths of hell. It was incomprehensible how he could still appear cute despite all these horrifying traits.
It had a ferocious air about it and long, pointy elf-like shaped ears, that were adorned with earrings that he got god knows where. Since when monsters tried to be fancy? Its grin was that of a cowardly but perverse predator and it had a row of teeth that could make a wolf back up in defeat.
The creature was half naked from its top and wore pelt like pants that covered his genitals. In its right hand was a heavy mace, ready for another assault on the party up front. In the midst of its intermittent and hungry drools, it issued growls that were somehow comprehensible.
¡°Hu-maan...Dea-th! The monster said before brandishing its mace and swiping at the party.
¡°Boorish fellow! I¡¯m your opponent.¡± A stylish young girl used a giant claymore to parry the attack.
¡°Bang!¡±
¡°Ugh¡!¡± She was pushed ten meters back before a colossal and bulky black man stopped her from falling further away. He wore heavy armor but was strangely agile in it.
¡°Haha! Bilika, put more spirit into it, will you? You¡¯re miles away from reaching my level at this rate. Who was the one that insisted to handle that guy alone before? Nevermind. Look how it¡¯s done.¡± The man unsheathed a cumbersome blade from his back, and after closing his eyes in focus for a second¡
¡°Viuu!¡± Slash*!! A red streak of light flashed out and formed a bright cross in the darkness. When it dissipated the creature appeared to be stuck for a moment. ¡°Shlickk!¡± It suddenly was cut in half, and decomposed itself before hitting the ground very gently, laying dead for eternity. The creature did not even have time to shriek and wail before its death. It was murdered neatly and fell silently but ominously. This was the work of a butcher¡
¡°Nice job, Desmond!¡± A man came from behind and patted his back.
¡°Captain...Thanks, hehe. This has become routine by now, a real cinch.¡± He laughed off the praise.
The man was Brent. He was a thirty-something looking guy with a very handsome appearance. He wore red shoulder armor and a bandana that fit well with his masculine brown mane. He did not have any weapon on himself but for some reason, he seemed more dangerous than the other two. He had some sort of boxing champion belt that crossed his torso diagonally, with miniature spikes on it. It was unclear if the item had a specific use or if it was just put on for show. But it looked damn cool on the fellow.
¡°This was the last one on this floor today.¡± Brent looked around and noticed.
Desmond and Bilika nodded in approval. ¡°Should we go for more?¡± The teenage girl was impatient. She needed to hone her abilities.
No one seemed to listen to her and she was treated as air. Brent was thinking about something before he opened his mouth again. ¡°I can¡¯t believe such a mysterious place would appear out of the Grand Line.¡± Brent marveled and continued. ¡° Desmond, do you remember? Six years ago when we were making our debut, we came across such a place near Whiskey Peak. I¡¯d never heard anything similar before¡¡±
¡°Yes, too bad we were not strong enough to monopolize the place...I wonder if those guys are still there.¡± He had a lingering trace of regret as he said this.
¡°Is it such a rare place?¡± Bilika asked in wonder. She¡¯d only joined the crew recently after she begged her master to let her integrate it. She was a native of East Blue so she did not really know this world that well.
¡°Um¡¡± Desmond muttered. ¡°I¡¯ve been a mercenary for seven years and a pirate for eleven. However I don¡¯t remember stories or events relating of such places. According to the Shard we discovered, this mysterious place is called a dungeon. You¡¯ve seen how stronger we¡¯ve gotten ever since coming here right? You would think the government would put ban on such places if they got wind of it. But somehow the captain has been able to bind it to himself and no one beside us can actually enter the barrier from outside. Chances are we¡¯re the first ones to discover it. I don¡¯t know about that place on Grand Line though...We had to exit as soon as we entered, those monsters inside were too darn strong for us.¡± He marked a small pause here...
Then he said, ¡°Well, we¡¯ll go back there once we get stronger. Don¡¯t let it get to your head though little girl. The Grand Line is not a place for brats like you. Haha!¡± Desmond said in a derisive manner to mock the teenage girl.
¡°Master!¡± She screamed and blushed. ¡°If you keep embarrassing me like this I won¡¯t talk to you anymore.¡± She sulked in frustration.
¡°Hahaha!...I¡¯ve told you a hundred times already. The captain is a happily married man.¡± He did not relent in his attacks and went for the kill. ¡°Those two twins would be perfect for you in a few years, haven¡¯t I told you? Give up on old men and look at the future. They¡¯re such fine young men, hmm, they¡¯d be perfect in-laws. Especially that Hao guy, I like his fiery temper, isn¡¯t he a perfect match for you? Don¡¯t come crying in a few years because you did not heed my advice; regret is a bitter medicine, lil girl.Haha!¡± He was laughing after his nonsensical ramble
¡°....!!!¡± She was mad with anger and became as red as a tomato. ¡°Blehhh¡!!¡± Bilika stuck out her tongue and went forward, leaving the two men behind.
Desmond shook his head in utter despair while Brent smiled bitterly in discomfort.
¡°Captain, do you really think Lena can handle that little monster?¡± He turned serious and asked. ¡°He beat Hao after all¡¡±
¡°When was the last time you and Lena fought?¡± Brent smiled and replied with another answer. As if to hint for something.
************************
Inside the jungle, Lena and Argos were looking for tracks when a young man looking like Brent appeared out of nowhere. He was very similar to the handsome guy except he had blonde hair. He had a bottle of Rum in his hands and was exceptionally sober¡
As soon as Argos saw that frivolous guy he gripped his fists and bit his lips.
¡°Sister in law, if you would accept my company; I¡¯m curious about that new kid. Hiccup!¡± He staggered a bit while asking this.
¡°Lewis?...¡± She frowned and acted as if she¡¯d not seen him. Not denying him although.
He shrugged and joined the party while whistling some pirate tune. Not forgetting to take a few sips while leaning on a tree.
¡°Any leads?¡± Lena asked the hunter, doing her best to bear with Lewis. She had a very bad temper but he was like a little brother to her. She hated his guts but he was her husband¡¯s cousin...If not she would have thrown him to the sharks a long time ago.
¡°If we head this way¡¡± Argos started to explain tracks and proposed a direction. ¡°...In an hour or so¡¡±
¡°Just lead the way.¡± She lost patience and ordered.
¡°!!...Dear lord, show mercy on this poor soul and strike this crazy vixen dead before the worst happens.¡± Argos jumped in fright and thought as they followed the tracks.
No rest for the wicked 1
No rest for the wicked 1
¡°Done!¡± Sabo looked for one last time at his work of art; He had laid the last wooden slab on the roof of the hut, which in turn was perched on the impressive tree.
"Not bad ... how do you like it?" I asked the rest of the small group of workers.
"Not great but it will be enough for a few days," Hao answered as Ace did his best to show his casualness. Yoh was cool with everything his brother liked so it was settled in his head already.
Luffy did not care where he would have to sleep for the next few days. He had been very helpful during the construction with his ability to lengthen his limbs. He looked proud, showing that it was the first time he¡¯d completed such an architectural work.
¡°Raoh, Can I get some meat now?¡± He pleaded in anguish. He¡¯d waited for this moment ever since the start of the construction site.
¡°Sure, don¡¯t eat the rest though...¡± I sighed already expectant regarding the guy¡¯s concerns.
¡°Ding!¡± Suddenly a familiar sound clattered inside my head once again.
¡°Congratulations! Providing instructions and leads, host has built his first human object with the help of manual workers. Host has gained a new skill!¡±
¡°Master Builder has been added to your list of skills!¡±
¡°Accept. YES/NO?¡±
¡°Yes,¡± I replied very routinely.
¡°Master Builder (Description): Host can now use various materials to create and enhance tools, objects, and conceptions. Master builders have a natural knack for engineering and anything related to constructs. To a minor degree, host can refine weapons and battle-related apparatus as well. Expertise in the skill will allow the host to spot fabrics'' defects. As an inventor and designer, host will also instinctively be adept at dismantling most gadgets. Inherent Passive skill boosts (+DEX*5+INT*5+CHAR)¡±
¡°Cool! This will come in handy.¡± I closed the window after examining my stats, which had gone way up thanks to the new skill. I received a +10 in dexterity and Intel as well as a +2 in charisma. This attribute had finally gone up for the first time in years.
I finally had found a way to make myself more respected by the group of wild brats. I liked to play the part of a young boy but it was tiring to use strength to restrain them. A bit of charisma would make things a lot easier for me to convince them while being less barbaric.
Charisma had a lot more uses than just make a bunch of kids more reactive to my needs and grab their attention spans. I would only discover it later, unfortunately¡
We went inside the hut and discussed our future while eating lunch. It was still early in the evening and the sun had yet to set down. The sky was bright red and orange, and only a few clouds were still visible on the horizon. It was a magnificent time to talk dreams and ambitions, and the rascals formed a few more bounds as they merrily ate.
This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.
Luffy had almost finished the supply of meat, and I was thinking that we would need to hunt a few animals the next day. As I was thinking this, I made my way down the trees, leaving the rest to their own devices, preparing to get some training in before sleep.
My senses were on alert and I was prepared for any potential attack on our encampment. Brent Pirates should have already gone to the twins¡¯ lodging and found out we left the dump. Now somebody should have been sent to track us in different areas and discover my background.
Anyway, I would have to deal with it should things become dangerous around here¡ I focused back on my task at hand; Training!
I opened the system menu and looked at my skills list. I was looking for three specific skills or skill sets in this case;
The ¡°Savage, Nerd and Tool mastery kits¡± in particular.
My Savage kit contained simple skills which I could not entirely list. Most of the skills inside those did not give me passive boosts. There were basic human skills such as running, walking or climbing. While walking did not give me any boost the other two gave minor ones. The combination of all those skills only gave me +1 in both strength and endurance. Skills such as punching and kicking were also included inside but it counted as one sub-kit which was close combat. There was also the long-range combat etc¡Now the skills were all fused inside one kit which would develop at a faster rate.
The system was exceptionally rational and had figured out that if I got major boosts from such small skills it would be too easy in the long run. While fusing skills into kits could seem wasteful, the boosts and experience received from them being split were not really worth it. They could evolve very fast but the time needed to divide was too significant. Picking my nose 5 hours a day to get a +0.1 on an attribute was ludicrous. Putting the skill inside a kit was more rewarding.
It was as if the system had figured out that day to day skills were not fair to enhance too fast and had decided on a contradictive measure. Now, the first time the system came up with this, I asked how it was different from dividing skills. However, after fusing twenty or so skills inside them I came back to reality quick. I only got a +1 boost in two relevant categories. I was frustrated but I understood how it would help me better in the long run. No matter which skill I worked on it benefited the whole set¡ It was a worthy sacrifice.
The Nerd and Tool mastery kits worked in the same way, but the skills inside were totally different. My Nerd kit contained my everyday intellectual skills such as reading or logical thinking, etc.
The latter was more focused on my ability to master and manipulate tools and weapons. This last kit could work very well in coordination with the skill I just obtained today; I could already picture how I could use objects to their optimum.
I put this nice thought aside and called upon a skill which I was planning to train on at this right moment. It was my ¡°Fitness skill¡±. It could be considered a bit of bodybuilding and cardiovascular activity. I wanted to level up the Savage kit and was getting ready for a steamy session while stretching. Today I would die doing pushups on my fingers.
I finished warming up my muscles and joints to the right temperature, but right before I could start the exercise my unconventional eyes took notice of three forms a kilometer away, walking in this direction.
¡°...No rest for the wicked huh?¡± I smirked.

¡°When I was one I sucked my thumb the day I went to sea ¡!~~
~The day I went to sea I climbed aboard a pirate ship...The captain said to me we¡¯re going North, South, East, West and up the Giants Sea¡!~
~A bottle of rum to warm my tum and that¡¯s the life for me!¡± An eccentric blonde hummed in the jungle a classic that every good pirate knew. It was one of those songs Luffy lived for and if he was present they would probably sing a duo; just good enough to attract the attention from the beasts hidden in the woods.
"............"
A woman close to the young man did not seem to have a musical ear. Even if she had it she was not in a mood to listen and appreciate.
She appeared particularly irritated and very close to the abyss of frustration. Any other person on the scene would be able to feel that the beautiful specimen was close to hysteria. She shot a look at the man singing and he instantly stopped doing so, apologizing with a grim smile, that demonstrated his helplessness.
The man took a gulp of his bottle and a small amount of the liquid spilled on its chin before reaching its chest. It happened a few times along the way and he was now totally reeking of alcohol. He appeared to have taken a bath in the substance and its strong smell had invaded the air.
¡°...God! Lewis you stink, go over there a bit.¡± Lena shoved the guy aside as she was taking whiffs of the fragrance.
¡°Haha!...Sorry, sis in law. Real men only live for adventure, alcohol, and women.¡±Lewis responded with a masculine pose as if trying to impress the lady. However, you could see that he was a bit wary of pushing one of her buttons.
*I¡¯m going that murder that screwball one day; hubby don¡¯t try and stop me!*. She thought before regaining a bit of her calm. ¡°Fuu¡¡± She was taking long breaths to calm herself.
¡°Argos, so how far are we now?¡± The blondie asked the middle-aged man guiding them at the front.
¡°The tracks have become more apparent ever since we reached that clearing a few kilometers away. It seems as if most of them were scaling trees and jumping to cross the area. Now they¡¯ve become united and I think they must have taken refuge somewhere close...¡± He answered scrupulously; holding himself from pouncing on the young man and taking a bite at his neck. Argos hated this guy¡¯s guts even more than Lena for some reason. If you find this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the infringement.
¡°...¡± Lena looked at Argos¡¯s gestures from the corner of one eye and his body language wasn¡¯t lying. One of the reasons she did not like social interaction was because she was able to pick up on people¡¯s true natures...Another victim, she deplored interiorly.
¡°What are we waiting for then?¡± Lewis took the lead. The two behind had taken a halt to look at his back frame. Unbothered as always he was sipping and walking at the same time. He looked behind and called for them to follow before he turned back.
¡°About your d-....¡± Lena faltered on her last word before the old man stopped her. He looked older than he should have been and had half a white head by now.
¡°Mistress, please don¡¯t mention it. It¡¯s their good fortune to have been taken as brides to mister Lewis.¡± He smiled sheepishly and continued. ¡°Let¡¯s go before it becomes dark. I won¡¯t be able to help at that time.¡±
¡°...Sigh¡¡± Lena shook her head in awkwardness.
The group continued to walk before they heard noise coming from the bushes. A gigantic trunk fell on them.
¡°Swish!¡± They all jumped to evade the enormous column.
¡°Bfooo!**¡± The tree fell and the noise made a few birds fly away chirping. Wolves began to howl and the setting of the place became a lot more ominous all of a sudden.
¡°Who¡¯s there?!!¡± Lewis looked at the unnaturalness of the circumstance and asked in the void. His voice echoed through the trees for ten seconds, but no answer came.
¡°Stop playing jokes. Come out, Hao I know it¡¯s you!¡± Lena took a fighting stance and shouted.
¡°I was looking for some exercise. You guys come to the perfect moment. Hehe!¡± Raoh got out from the bushes and said.
¡°??¡± The group of three looked curiously at him. But after Argos took a good look at him he said: ¡°Miss, that¡¯s the kid from before!¡±
¡°He¡¯s that monster? This runt is?!!¡± Lewis took this as a joke. But Argos¡¯s expression did not vacillate.
¡°Isn¡¯t he even smaller than those twins?¡± The annoying blonde said again. ¡°Hiia!! Kids these days become more and more outrageous¡¡±
¡°Shut up!!¡± Lena barked. She instantly felt the uncommonness of the brat looking at her. If he was for real¡
¡°Where¡¯s Hao?¡± The woman asked.
¡°Dunno. Say...Are we doing this or not?¡± Raoh smiled naughtily as he asked impatiently. He was exuding an exhilarating charm and Lena felt chills running through her arms as he proposed. She blanked out for a moment as if totally overtaken by the wild little man¡¯s imposing air. This kid is cute!! I would totally adopt him, kyaa!...why am I stuck with that vermin as in-law? *Mental sigh*.Somehow she blushed when looking at the boy.
She turned and took a glance at Lewis before she cursed for a second and regained her spirits.
¡°Doing what?¡± She replied totally confused. She had unconsciously started to play in the palm of the kid¡¯s hand.
Raoh looked at this and thought. ¡°Is this lady?...¡± *Nah that¡¯s bollocks* he thought.
"Ding!"
¡°Congratulations! Host has successfully used his sexiness and manly disposition to cause a bodily reaction inside the opposite sex.¡±
¡°New skills acquired! Ladies Man, Smooth Operator and Dank Expert¡±
¡°Dank Expert will remain locked due to host¡¯s youth and will automatically be added to the skill list in eight years.¡±
¡°Accept, Yes/NO?¡±
¡°The heck?!¡±
No rest for the wicked 2.5
No rest for the wicked 2.5
¡°Really? So that¡¯s how you¡¯re going to be from now on huh, system?¡± This made me so awkward I had to follow up with a passive aggressive question, in order to hide my feelings.
¡°....Host needs to calm down and respond by yes or no to the previous question. System only has so much time to sleep...Maybe Host would need me to run a course on this peculiar subject of human interaction?¡± The hammer struck down even harder than before. Now all semblance of delicacy disappeared into a poof. The system really gave zero fucks when considering my privacy and emotions.
¡°...Yes. Give the damn skills. ¡° I mentally commanded. I was stuck for life with this jerk. My last shreds of personal space and secrecy went to shit as I reincarnated with such a companion. I could already imagine what would transpire in a few years¡
¡°Ladies man (Description): Host is now a natural when it comes to attracting the opposite sex. Grabbing their interest and being a popular topic of conversation among females is a second nature. Making other men clench their teeth for getting it going with the ladies, making their hearts flutter and showing insanely charismatic demeanor is now your problem. Ladies men are loved by most superficial women and hated by petty and beta guys. As the skill levels up and evolve, forming involuntary harems and causing kitten wars will be a breeze¡¡±
¡°Oh boy¡¡± I cringed so hard that every last shred of thrill inside of me escaped.
¡°Inherent skill passive boosts (+CHAR*5+LUCK*10)¡±
¡°...This can¡¯t be real right?¡± The luck stat growth was influenced by such an unsightly skill. And to such an extent? Now I got why I hated those type of people before. It did not come down to merit but to universal principles¡Turning into an alpha male was basically swimming against the current while people born with such disposition turned out just to have it handed down. It was unfair but as it happens I was one of those unrealistic fellows now. I was happy but a small part of myself was ridden with guilt because I knew I might overuse this in the future. I died without experiencing that privilege so I was really likely to succumb to the temptation of drowning myself into the new experience called ¡°romance¡±. In the process, a few hearts would involuntarily and maybe intentionally be broken.
Love was a fucked up battlefield and like every fucked up thing in life, warfare was not to be conducted with fair arsenal. As if it wasn¡¯t enough, the system was now announcing me the functioning of my next lethal weapon.
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
¡°Smooth Operator (Description): Host can talk himself out of impossible situations. Breaking mental barriers, locks and restraints are your own specialty from now on. This skill¡¯s use is peculiarly effective against the opposite gender, as you now can put yourself in shoes that do not belong to you. Smooth operators have inexhaustible repartee and always know what to say or do in complex situations. Host¡¯s social skills are boosted in general, as he can listen, soothe and use the proper method to resolve and help people to overcome their fear and open up. Host is now a natural liar and master manipulator that borders sociopathy. The skill naturally develops as the host interacts with people. Inherent passive skill boosts (+CHAR*10+SENS*5+FUN*2)¡±
¡°This one appears to be even more mystifying¡¡± I really struck gold when I chose the skiller path I guess.
¡°The last skill remains locked for now, System will have to go back to more rewarding activities¡¡±
¡°Ok, thanks.¡± get going already. This guy liked to sleep a little bit too much. It was as if he was busy chasing hot girls inside his dreams or something. I¡¯d have to ask the the sloth one day¡

Seductive tactics
Seductive tactics
I had totally diverted my attention from the group, uncaring but still alert thanks to my sixth sense. To the general surprise, I seemed to be in a solitary concert, discussing wind and rain with an imaginary friend. From their point of view, I was making fun of their presence and Lewis did not find it to his liking.
¡°Has this kid gone mad or something?¡± Argos was looking at me inquisitively. ¡°He doesn¡¯t look the part though. Why am I always getting mixed up with such strange folks? Haa...sometimes I wish those pirates never came on our Island.¡± He groaned at the back of the band.
¡°Kid. What¡¯s your name?¡± Lewis composed himself and asked me cordially.
¡°You won¡¯t need to know where you¡¯re going,¡± I replied nonchalantly.
¡°This fucking kid¡!!! That¡¯s it I¡¯m going to butcher him.¡± He took a step forward but Lena scolded him harshly.
¡°Lewis be quiet now unless you want a piece of me!!¡± She said irritated.
I wouldn¡¯t mind tho...The imbecile looked at her twin peaks and thought in silence. He retreated grudgingly and sat on the grass like a pouting child. He held his chin with one hand and took big gulps from his bottle with the other; it was almost as if the blockhead was immune to the poison.
That guy is completely pissed right now! He¡¯s a bit childish still, which contrasts with his drunkard ways¡ I noticed a bit entertained by the situation. Anyway, let¡¯s see how things go down at this point. I don''t think the battle will be possible to avoid¡
¡°Miss, I have done my part. I¡¯ll take my leave here if you don''t mind.¡± Argos said with a shy tone.
¡°Hum. Thanks for your work. You can leave now.¡± She said.
¡°Thank you.¡± He looked strangely at the young man installed on the ground, before leaving.
Stolen content warning: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences.
His silhouette vanished in the forest and now only the three of us were left into a staring contest.
¡°What¡¯s your name kid?¡± The woman asked me with an appreciative smile, not letting out the feeling of talking with an enemy, but more to a friend.
¡°...Raoh.¡± I answered politely. I knew what her intentions were.
¡°Raoh, what a manly name.¡± She flattered.
¡°Hmph! That snotty brat is probably not even weaned yet...¡± The blonde man snorted in disdain.
The mature woman did not pay him any heed and linked up. ¡°My name is Lena. An opportunity for a more friendly meeting between us was a bit jammed up, but I hope you don¡¯t have any hard feelings because of the jackass here.¡± She pointed at him.
¡°#*}&$!!!¡± The guy cursed when he heard and saw this.
¡°I don''t really care, if you guys are looking for a fight I can hold my own,¡± I said boldly.
Lewis wanted to get up but he stopped after she shot a look at him.
¡°Raoh...I¡¯ll be honest with you.You probably figured but we¡¯re the boss around these parts. I know you¡¯re strong, but don¡¯t get hot headed because you beat one of the twins. You¡¯ve caught our interest and our boss would like to meet you¡¡± Lena tried to rub me the right way.
¡°Boss as in Brent?¡± I asked mockingly.
¡° Yes, my husband is our pirate crew captain. We¡¯ve sailed on the Grand Line before with him and seen things you can¡¯t even begin to conceptualize. I know people like you Raoh, this place will eventually become too small for you. We got experience, money, and numbers. You could live the good life with us...What do you say?¡± She was really good at setting the bait and reeling the fish inside the net. She used a few of her feminine appeals at the same time. Her nice figure was highlighted by a graceful shake of hair. Now she was dressing it into a ponytail node, both hands up in motion, leaving a cleavage that would make any man cry into full view.
The bloke from behind bit his lips when he saw this. I instantly understood that he was not any good material. If she was the captain¡¯s woman, then this nitwit who was eyeing her was extremely audacious.
¡°If you guys have been on the Grand Line, why would you come here? In East blue of all places¡¡±
¡°Good question. Not only are you strong, but you¡¯re also astute. If you join you will come to find out what¡¯s so peculiar about this place. That¡¯s all I can say for now.¡± She smiled mesmerizingly, and I realized she was not bluffing at all. They were hiding something big¡
"This is a top secret that even those two twins do not know about..." She looked at me with arms crossed over her provocative chest.
"How is that relevant?" I asked curiously.
" Hao could probably beat me three months ago..." She let out the meaning of something. I gawked because there was not the least bit of deceit on her face.
" Now even that chap over there could probably give him a bit of difficulty." She sneered as she turned.
"Hehe...Big sis is so harsh!! My poor heart is grieving in pain." He acted the part of a devastated and desperate lover.
Fucking womanizer, you got seven wives already and you''re still trying to woo your sister in law... the beautiful plant thought in anger. I wonder if Brent never noticed or if he really doesn''t care about me. He must be cheating on me...is he??! Oh god, If it''s Bilika then my husband is definitely a p***!!
"So what do you say, Raoh? If you join I promise you this big sis is going to take good care of you in the future." In ten years this kid is going to be a total ten. I must claim him for myself before that little vixen does. hmph! A small giggle escaped as the nefarious thought crossed Lena''s mind.
This woman is definitely sketchy!I was sure this time around.
Prologue Plothole
I''m sorry I had to realize this now but I''m originally not a writer and never really had a great memory, so I''ve spotted a mistake in the prologue due to being too absorbed into the original anime character.
Raoh''s romantic history has never been clear and in the anime, we only found out he had a son after he died. So I had to correct this. If it seems too much for you, well I can only say I''m sorry.
I don''t want to rewrite the whole novel claiming the guy has had reciprocated feelings with a woman in the past and stuff. In reality, he really was in love with Julia, Kenshiro''s woman and he never really was able to forget her. So...what I''m trying to say is that even if he reproduced with another girl out of lust or loneliness, etc; he was still a heartbroken guy with fucked up issues and a broken heart. This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author''s work.
Yeah! this is how manly that anime is...Sorry if it''s not corny and lighthearted. This is both realistic and unrealistic in certain aspects...This was a fucked up place to live in. Considering the personality of the Raoh I introduced in this novel, I don''t want to imagine the worst scenario and this is why I''m going with this softened theory...I really don''t want him to be what he''s been fighting so far so. Yeah, take it as it is and please do not be too mad.
If you see another plothole somewhere, report it to me and don''t be a passive-aggressive cunt; please. Just explain the damn thing like a grown-up. thanks for reading as usual =)
Kusuri Kusuri No Mi 1
I remained silent for awhile after listening to the invitation. Making things dramatic was unnecessary but it obeyed to one of my lines of conduct, or a craze if you prefer:
[Usingany opportunity at dramatic statements, as well as milking for turmoil and mayhem.]
"So, have you made a choice?" Lena was eager to hear my answer. She had gone over her manual by now, exhausting all of its potential by alternating soothing and caring shenanigans. This was already a phenomenal output all things considered.
Doing more would require her to be in a frighteningly good mood, something that did not align with the poise she had chosen to demonstrate; that is as far as her professional activities were concerned... She most likely had no ill feelings towards me but she was not that cool nor nice of a person to begin with.
"Hahaha...." I started laughing like a maniac. The wicked duo was obviously, and rightfully, startled by my conduct. The scene was a sight to see indeed. A small and immature child was having a blast inside a maneatingly dark and inauspicious forest, totally dismissive of the underlined threats the woman had previously taken the care to allude; softly but still easy enough to spot out and decipher.
Only ghost sound effects, several wolves'' owls and crows squeaks could make this occurence any creepier than it already was.
"What''s funny?" Lena asked me gloomily.
I showed the murkiest smile I could muster at this time and savagely grinned before answering very slowly; paying attention to spell each of my next words precisely.
"GOo SCREWW YOURSELF!!..." The instant the foul sentence escaped my mouth, I was found leaping at the blonde guy''s stature. He was still rooted to the ground before he realized what had taken place. Spurting the liquid from his mouth in consternation.
"Damn!..." Lena was angry for being so brutally rejected. "Leww!..." She ate the rest of the word. She wanted to help the drunk jerk but she smiled evilly after thinking of something. Hubby, you can''t blame me if that bum dies by the hand of someone else...
**Whoosh** I had closed the distance and pounced at the pirate before he could react.
**Clash!!** He took the full brunt of my kick in his face and was shot back violently. "Boom!" He ate a few trees in the process which cracked under the fearfulness of the impact. I did not pursue but waited for him to get back.
**Snap!!** He got up and shoved aside some tree branches and trunks that were mounted as a pile on top of his body. He did not even clean his outfit and was dirty from all the soil and dust both on his face and hair. He looked like a total beggar right now, and as he took another sip from the bottle I frowned...He definitely should have taken damage right now. The fuck is going on? I did not use Hokuto but that had to be at least 70% of my full strength without haki.
"Ouch...That stung a bit. Kid, you''re packing some power huh?!" He looked at me and hollered.Unauthorized usage: this narrative is on Amazon without the author''s consent. Report any sightings.
"..." My expression was probably priceless right now.
"Don''t look at me like this. I''m not leaning that way." He said jokingly.
"Fuck off!!.." I screamed in response.
"Hehe. Kid that mouth of yours is really filthy. Is that how your parents taught you to respect your elders? Wait, someone like you probably does not have any..." He was trying to anger me. He put on a big smile and sipped another mouthful. Seeing as how I remained impassive he said. "Not cute at all...Alright, enough joking. Boy, you''re probably asking yourself why your blow was ineffective right now I bet? Hehe!" He teased.
Did this kid really beat Hao? Someone probably overestimated him...If that''s all he can do then my plan is going to fail. The woman on the side thought. Well let''s watch, it''s never too late to interfere if Lewis goes berserk.
I wanted to use my observe skill and investigate the situation but the tipsy golden-haired fellow opened his box again
"Let me clear your doubts for you punk." He opened his right hand and declared. "Kirapan!!( Pain-killer)"
"Viuu!" Light flashed in his palm and all of a sudden some pills appeared out of nowhere. He grabbed and chomped on them. His body glowed red and he issued a satisfied yelp.
"What in the hell?" I was confused.
"Haha...You should really see your face right now." He pointed at me while laughing frantically. His woozy state of mind only served to accentuate his turbulent glee.
"Aah..." He almost choked and after calming a bit he said loudly. "I have eaten the Drug-Drug Fruit (Kusuri Kusuri No mi). I''m able to eat an overwhelming amount of drugs without passing out or suffering negative effects. The enhancements I gain from them are limited right now but I can easily do a lot of interesting things. The pills I showed before were in fact painkillers, hence why your blow from earlier did not really weaken me..."
"So that''s why. That''s kinda neat." I praised amusingly.
"Oh, youngster you''re more accepting than I thought you would be! That''s refreshing. Well, let''s get back to business now." He replied and took a stance more adapted to the situation at hand. "But still, that was only one part of my ability. Besides my cousin no one else is a fruit eater on our crew, so brace yourself. I''ve come up with a lot of fancy abilities over the years...The moment you underestimate Devil fruit users, it spells your doom." He warned me.
"Don''t worry, I''m not a vegetarian myself." It looked as if I would have to go bananas on this guy to beat him. Well if he dies it''s not any of my business. I''ll have a use for some of these bandits so I wanted to keep the useful ones alive...But It seems as if I underestimated this world a bit. The Grand Line is really a ferocious place. Still, that ability of his is really useful... That''s a pity.
I considered my options, but that guy was bound to experience my killing moves. His ability nullified pain, so unless I really overwhelmed him I would not be able to knock him out.
However, my previous attack clearly highlighted that our abilities were not far off. We would only fight to a standstill when that wench had yet to even take a step. If she joined forces with him I would not be able to win. Speaking of her why is she not moving? Is she really that confident in this toyboy?...Humm. I''m actually intrigued...how strong is she now.?..I wanted to get some exercise in but now I hope I don''t regret fomulating such a wish...
This was going to be the first fight after my birth where I would use the full extent of my abilities; at least beside with Grandfather...
Speaking of this guy, Hokuto was useless on him. His hardening haki was so strong I could not even touch his vital points. I''m not even sure I could inflict damage to him if he discarded it. He likes to play with my feelings so I bet he''s keeping a lot under his belt.
I remember when I first used my Hokuto Shinken he was not even fazed a bit. He''s probably seen a lot of weird shit before, so this probably counts as something extraneous to him. He''s really a weird old man. Solely considering his relationship with Dad this is an irrefutable fact...
Kusuri Kusuri No Mi 2
I finished brainstorming and used my observe skill to analyze my foe. My eyes took on a weird tint as a window suddenly popped in front of me.

The man had a lot of handy abilities I had yet to personally experience. He could create, refine and imitate new drugs as well digest them instantaneously. He most certainly wanted to use me as his guinea pig. I clicked on the special skills and examined them in more detail, one of them seemed peculiarly ominous.
[Medicine Injection: The user can use his whole body as a weapon to inject himself or others with medication, drugs, narcotics and all sorts of poisons. The current devil fruit holder has yet to master the ability so he can only use it in close combat...]
I was a bit scared, to be honest. Not scared because I feared Lewis or his narcotics, but because I saw how dreadful devil fruit users were. This devil fruit in particular offered room for too many possibilities, either offensive, defensive or supportive. Healing could even be achieved if used properly.
I did not know what the observe skill meant by "awakening" but it most certainly was related to the fruit''s potential. This was a whole new world for me and I would have to ask the system for more details later. My interest was piqued after taking a look at this fellow; I never really planned to use fruits myself, but if I could get my hands on this one I could do something useful with it. The real problem was that I did not really know how it would affect my body so I was reluctant to eat one. But there were still people who could eat it; my future allies.
"System what happens to the ability when a devil fruit user dies?" I was wondering if the ability would completely vanish from this world''s records if Lewis happened to die. I was hoping the system could figure this out for me. He was a higher existence that came along with me when I was reborn in this world. He never really explained to me why I was chosen or even where he came from, but he had to be related to a higher being or something. That would be the only reason to justify his knowledge and capabilities. Who could make me avoid death and cross dimensions besides a divine being after all? This content has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
Looking at things logically, the system had to know everything about this world, even things as weird as devil fruits. If he did not tell me it would only be to make things more challenging or because it was an important secret. Most of the time though, my system always helped me with things that would aid my growth.
"When a devil fruit user dies, the demon inside the person escapes the corpse and takes refuge inside the nearest fruit. This is not public knowledge but it is something most marines and pirates know already, so this does not count as a secret for Host..." The sluggard replied nonchalantly. I was instantly overjoyed.
"The nearest fruit?..." I thought of something. "System what''s the closest fruit to Lewis right now?"
"Analysis of the surroundings ... 11%. Processing the meadow and nearby trees ... " The system began to search silently the forest for any crop, nut or berry, and five seconds later he said.
"Scanning complete,95 objects responding to the description found in a radius of five kilometers, further filtering discovered and classified only 26 fruits fulfilling the requirements for paramecia anchorage..." He gave a vague summary.
"Where are they?" I asked happily but impatiently.
"Only 14 objects remaining..." He followed.
"What, Why? How did it disappear in such a quick time?" I had a bad premonition.
"Host''s brother has eaten it..." The system said in a very bored manner.
"!!!!..." I was alarmed. Luffy is probably going to finish the fruits we came with before I can get back there in time.
"Is there no alternative solution?" I asked a bit desperate.
"........" The system remained silent for a bit as if he was struggling internally. "Host does not fulfill the requirements to know yet." He said impassively.
"What are those requirements?" I was not giving up.
"Host''s spirit and Haki are not strong enough yet to handle that specific method. Your soul would be shattered and even possibly destroyed if an attempt was to be made right now."
"Hum..." That method ought to be really something if the system warns me like this...I guess I can only give up and search the rest of the surroundings once that guy dies.
"System I''ll ask you to conduct a full scan of the forest before I finish the fight. Can you spot the devil fruit if we come across it?" It was dark and even with my night vision, I was not an expert when it came to devil fruit exterior appearance. It would be a long although rewarding quest, but I had a lot of things to take care of, especially with that woman here. If one animal happened to eat the fruit before I could get my hands on it, I would only have my eyes left to cry.
"Scanning set in motion 0.05%...Twenty minutes till completion." The voice announced.
"Kid, are you taking me lightly?" Lewis realized my attention had gone elsewhere and asked.
I looked back at him with a meaningful smirk. "Sorry, I was thinking how to best torture you and mutilate you when you start begging for death," I gave a glib answer along with a playful grin, which was totally unbefitting of six years old. The guy had chills running through his spine for some reason. This kid...
"Punk!...I''ve changed my mind now, I will make you join the crew even against your will." His buzz was accentuated as he munched on a few blue pills this time.
"You won''t be able to see the sun tomorrow, unfortunately." I smiled.
I concentrated energy and a small membrane of black and shining liquid recovered my arms, steaming hot vapor around the edge of my miniature frame.
"??!" Lena was confused when she saw this. What is that steam? And why are his arms suddenly black? Is he a devil fruit user?
I took a big momentum and rushed towards Lewis at high speed.
"Brrusshhh!" This time I used 95% of my power with Haki. He withdrew a dagger and defended the blow while clenching his teeth. He also screamed the name of another technique while he pierced his body with his syringe looking finger, "Steroid boost!" His eyes were shot red. His body was bigger the next moment; his muscles were bulging, and the veins on his temps, arms, and neck, were exceptionally clear to see.
BANNGG!!!
The clash pushed him back only 20 meters away this time and he stopped sliding backward. He did not even frown from the force of the collision.
I sneered and a burst of attacks began to rain more beautifully than before on my assailant.
BOOOmm!!!
He could only defend; he did not have time to go on the offense because of the of the savageness of the raid. The barrage he was resisting against was too much to deal with as his hands were full. He managed somehow to parry and deflect some of the brunt.
"Damn it!! This devilish brat''s blows are hard like steel. What the fuck is he made of? Lewis was howling inside.
Dance of Death 1
The fucker was cursing his bad luck for picking such a nasty opponent. He received hit after hit and his face was soon covered with cuts. He was blue all over due to his inability to sustain his protective stance. I was not hitting harder than anything he''d ever had to face. In fact, in their own crew, he had to withstand scarier offensive power while training with either Brent or the freakish brute known as Desmond.
But...he had never seen someone with such an unnaturally large amount of stamina. My recovery speed was not making things fair for him. In the beginning, he was counting on me to strike a few blows here and there and then become tired.
(Pov switch) (Third person pov)
But now he realized something; something which made him understand if the woman who was watching from the sidelines did not come to his rescue, he might bite the dust today. No! He would definitely die as the logical outcome. This merciless leprechaun in front of him was not a person, he was a monster!
Not even one drop of sweat had dripped from him ever since the first clash. This was not a fight anymore, but a sentence of death!
He was burning slowly and methodically, exhausting his body until the kid wrestled him to his tomb. He was too young to die. He enjoyed life too much to sign his death warrant in such a sarcastic manner. What he had thought to be an easy prey, one he could capture and bring back, was a predator baring sharper fangs than his own. This was irony at its best. The lion getting played by the ratel.
Really no quantity of steroids or amount of doping could help him overcome this hurdle known as brutality. This kid was literally savage and was born to fight. He had yet to figure out what the metallic luster and steam coming from his arms originated from, but he could care less at this point. He had to make a quick dash or beg that perky butt witch for assistance. However, he knew she hated his guts...
She had a sadistic disposition and more than likely would leave him to his own devices, no matter which kind of fate was in store for him.
The number of people that actually died because of her would yet increase once more if it continued. He had to figure something out, or the only thing that would happen would be him getting eaten by beasts as a funeral, once the brat had put the finishing touch to the fight.Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.
He had one last card he had kept hidden to his opponent. However, once it failed, he was as good as-as dead. Since he was a bit faster than his foe, the chances were not that slim... He could only pray that his reaction time and defenses were not as good as his virulent punches and kicks.
(Raoh pov)
"Blitzkrieg!!" Lewis shouted as some white powder appeared out of nowhere between us. He blew some of it towards me and inhaled the rest into his nostrils like a vacuum cleaner. His eyes which were red became white as he was left with no pupils. His appearance was pitiful to the extreme and he began to laugh foolishly.
He was overcome with an eerie series of spasms coursing through his neck and shoulders, but he suppressed the sensations somehow as he looked in my direction once more. He smiled and licked his lips as a small streak of blood made its way to his mouth. The "stuff" was so strong that it apparently made the madman bleed.
From the looks of things his situation was dire, and if he did not die at my hands today he would probably kick the bucket if he was forced to use that thing again. I avoided that powder quickly so I didn''t have time to figure out what it was. But the instant it came out, I realized it was not anything I wanted to get near to.
"This fool...He''s had to use this now. He''s cornered like a rat now. Even if he wins, he won''t make it back to the base. Good riddance." Lena murmured on the sidelines but it didn''t escape my ears.
"Hum..." I was shocked to find out she didn''t plan to help him but rather decided let him die. They probably had some sort of grudge or something I thought.
No matter what it was, it did not concern me either way. I needed this guy dead, so it was the perfect scenario for me.
The system scanning had reached 97% by now and I could stop playing around with the simpleton. I just needed to figure out the respawn place before I disposed of the blonde man. This would be the first time I''d use Hokuto on a pirate around my level. I was curious to see if it would be an instant kill like with the bandits from before.
I started gathering energy around my body as my sense became enhanced, more energywas gatheringaround me.
"Ugh!...Kid, you pushed me. Get ready to witness ultimate speed." The crazed guy whimpered in an inaudible manner, as he fought the adrenaline rush that was coursing his veins.
"You''re very strong but it does not mean shit if you can''t touch me. I won''t hold back. Blame yourself for being too precocious if you die from this." He let out a final reminder before he seized his dagger and gave pursue. After a few steps, his form vanished.
I smiled and closed my eyes preparing for the oncoming onslaught.
Dance of Death 2
SWOOSH~
Lewis was moving at high speed in a circle, trying to divert and confuse my senses before he came stabbing at me with his dagger. He was using cowardly tactics and elaborated a hit and run strategy. The first attack had yet to land but it was easy to figure out what he was devising. The only problem was that he had miscalculated once again. My stamina and close combat abilities were top tiers but my senses and reflexes were even better.
If I had a showdown with a mongoose or a snake right now, I could probably put up a fight when it came to reaction time. Hokuto only served to make things worse for my adversary. After I finished condensing and absorbing the energy, my brain got enhanced by 70% from the original 30% humans were familiar to.
TAP! TAP! TAP!
Things began moving at a slow motion around me. I could hear the lad trying to make his first raid on me. My eyes were still closed and when I opened them I grabbed on his sleeve. His leaps were fast but their trajectory was predictable; the mere fact of catching his sleeve allowed me to upset his balance, and destabilize his footings. He managed to extricate himself in time, but that was enough for him to find himself inside my range of action.
???!!! The overconfident pirate wavered once more; he prepared his retreat at the same moment he was detected.
This kid can track my movements unexpectedly. I need to fall back before this turns sour...
But it was already too late. He was still inside my perimeter and with such a small gap between us, the pressure I exerted dulled his speed a little. There was too much energy swirling around and it stopped him from breathing properly for a half a moment. This was enough for me to counter...
I opened my eyes and looked at him. When he noticed the smug look I had he understood that his doom was unavoidable. It was a useless struggle; he knew that he was no match. He only wished that he had realized this sooner because the vibes coming from me did not bode well for him at all. Having spent years on the Grand Line he''d seen that kind of expression often...
Being at the other end of this sinisterly ill-fated play was something he had never envisioned as a possible outcome; especially not in a showdown with a gnome...
FLEEE!!! He was panicked instantaneously.
"You''re going nowhere!!...Die." I smacked him down from behind with a snake-like instinctive move and he crashed on the ground.
BOOMM!!This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.
"Hurgh!...Spit** He vomited a bit of blood and tried to regain power inside his legs. He was in a rush to escape and did not even try to look back when he was smashed to the ground. Unfortunately for him, his movements had become sluggish and his speed from before had dropped a great deal.
If he knew what I had hit him with he would stop striving in vain. His survival chances now were less than 2%, and it was only in the case he could protect himself from the following attacks as well as dispel the restraints I imposed on his legs. The vital point I hit was precisely tied with movement and coordination. Soon vertigo and dizziness would make him a target dummy, totally unfit for combat.
I made my way towards Lewis at breakneck speed and used my two palms to damage violently his chest. He was surprised to find me stopping his course, as the wooziness had completely messed up with his concept of time. He still thought he was faster, so it came to him as a shock.
PUCHI!!
His rib cage was riddled with finger marks. As his sensation of pain was dulled he thought my attack had missed and smiled. The next moment, however, his face became ghastly. All of his nerves had stopped working and he was paralyzed.
"Any last words?..." I asked.
"Stop joking! I won''t die here like this...Lena!" He screamed at the top of his lungs.
The woman simply looked away. What a pitiful end.
That boy will replace him perfectly, he''s so ruthless at such a young age. But those moves of his are a bit off. What kind of martial art is that? I''ve never heard of any Marine or government agent use murdering techniques like these....Wait!! Did that child perhaps?...
"DAMN IT ALL...!!" Lewis Shrieked in anger and regret. If he knew he was going to die here today he wouldn''t have followed this enchantress. There were so many women he had yet to taste in this world, he was not willing...
"Don''t worry this will be quick." I congregated Haki in my right fist and pierced his chest with a powerful strike.
Puu!
His face was rigid for a second and then his body went limp as he fell on the ground, totally unanimated. He was dead beyond a remaining shred of doubt. Now it was time to figure out where and when that demon would escape.
I used my observation skills to look at his body, but I could not see anything. Apparently, I was missing something in order to see spirits and demons clearly like Hao. Maybe it had to with that spiritual Haki thing.
"So ruthless at such a young age...Raoh I like you more and more, Hihi." Lena said with an evil laughter.
"...Aren''t you going to avenge him?" I asked worriedly. I had no time to spare with her; the most important thing to do was to go and chase for the devil fruit. I would never let such a marvelous ability go to waste, I had my own experiments to conduct also.
"Haha...You''re really straightforward. However don''t get ahead of yourself, you also need some patience and restraint... Don''t mistake my passive reaction as weakness or you could get bit in the process. You have a future kid, and since you helped me get rid of this malignant tumor I will not force your hand. The only way for Brent to forgive you for killing this screwball is to join the crew. While he values family, my husband is ambitious. He values strength above anything else, so he will not pursue this matter. I will distract him for a while to leave you time to figure things out on your end. Just give me a call when you figure out your answer." She took out a snail from her pocket and threw it to me.
"I only give you two days kid. Call before things get troublesome for me." She left while waving in my direction.
"This woman is really..." I was disconcerted by her casualness. She did not even take the guy''s corpse back.
I took another glance at him before asking the system for the location of my target.
Superfluous tales 1.1
Dawn Island, Goa Town,
Two people were sitting face to face in a very spacious room. This was a two-story mansion built at the town center. The majestic gates barring entry could be seen from the windows, and passersby could not help but take a quick peek as they walked by the place. It was a magnificent house, fitting of Dawn Island''s aristocratic circle.
The World Nobles (Tenryubito) were the true ruling class on this planet. On the four seas, their influence was not to be overlooked. However, as rulers, they did not go and crusade themselves, they used different means of power to demonstrate their authority. One of them was the world government, which was directly in contact with them via the Gorosei (Council of Elders), the other was the marine.
If the world government was composed of politicians and spy networks, then the marine was essentially the army, or the running dogs, depending on which point of view you examined the situation. Marines fought mostly against Pirates and any other force going against the interests and supremacy of the Tenryubito.
People of common birth were told from the cradle not to provoke the nobles, so it was common knowledge to fear and grovel at theirfeet when they appeared outside. Nobles were an unreasonable bunch, and being spoiled by the Marines and the government, they had long since started to mistreat and enslave their subjects. It would normally be inconceivable to picture why people had never revolted against such tyranny and madness, but this world was not as simple as it seemed.
While Corruption was rampant inside the so-called force of justices, the police and gendarmerie work the Marine did, vastly outweighed the excessiveness of their boss. The number one reason for this was "pirates".
Pirates were the scrouge of the sea. Their reputation had never been good but after the Golden age of Piracy was caused by Gol.D Roger, officially known as Gold Roger, those greedy and bloodthirsty mercenaries had caused waves after waves of death, robbery, misery, and chaos on the four seas and the Grand Line.
Most pirates were not "goody-goodies", and even if some of them were uncommon and the total opposite of their contemporaries, their deeds were hidden from the public eye by the World Government. It would definitely not do if the public learned that pirates were not all evil like the word was being spread.
So, in a way that was preordained ever since centuries ago, World Nobles were the masters and puppeteers, but their number was very small compared to the rest of the world. Some of them had to marry with the middle class and this caused a rift between the nobles that were living in their holy land (Mariejois), and those that had to leave and live in lesser places. Those type of nobles were essentially aristocrats and courtiers; they were rich but did not benefit from all the rights of their ancestors. This book''s true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.
The nobles living in the Goa Kingdom were essentially this type of upper crust; they had some degree of privilege, but they did not really mean anything to the Tenryubito since their blood was diluted. While they could get one or two buster calls in case they were attacked, it was only more for the symbolism than their real value. In fact, top marine officials would not need to show them any courtesy when they met them. When someone such as Garp came on Dawn Island, he would only need to be somewhat polite to the King of the country; the rest were flies.
For this reason, most bluebloods that had left Mariejois had learned to live like the bourgeoisie. They were very shrewd and dishonest merchants, that only thought about ways to make money and establish relationships with politicians, royals, and the underworld.
"So, what did you want to see me for, Outlook III? Kaba*..." A man with a with a hippo on his head asked. He had a very grotesque and almost repulsive poise. He was the perfect blend between a thug and wealthy-looking middle-aged man. However, despite his ridiculous appearance, he seemed very dangerous somehow. His eyes and head were very disproportionate compared to the rest of his body which was incomprehensively fat and round. It was necessary to figure out how the small chair he was seated on right now could support his weight. He was picking his nose and asked the slender and tall man with a mustache at the opposite side of the table.
"...Haha, Wapol-Sama, It was such a nice surprise to meet you at this edition of the Miss East Blue contest. I was not willing to let you leave in such a hurry. How often are we graced with a presence as great as yours in our small country...?" The man replied with flattery.
"Mahahaha...Indeed I am a great person." The man was laughing in a gross manner. After a while, he stopped and said with a serious tone. "You can choose your words, but I hope you did not call me in vain today. I need to get back to Drum Kindom so I don''t have much time...My father is ill and I need to go back in case something untimely happens during my absence."
"Ah! yes, of course..." Outlook III took out a box from one of his drawers and opened it.
"Creak...!"
"This is..." Wapol was stunned when he saw the unexpected object.
"Um...Wapol-Sama this is the Baku-Baku no Mi (Chew-Chew Fruit). This a Paramecia Devil Fruit I obtained recently thanks to a Pirate that just came on the Island...I want to gift it to you, but this modest person only has a small request if it''s not too much."
".....Bwahaha!!..." Wapol laughed very heartily and replied. "Outlook, I underestimated you it seems. You were always an ambitious person, but it seems you''ve stepped up your game a bit. Pirates, huh? Well, the end justifies the means I guess. If those guys at Mariejois got any wind of this..."
"Don''t worry Wapol-Sama. I know what you want to say..." He had taken a real bet this time. Wapol could snatch the fruit from him without a need for guilt. He was also at risk if he just left and notified those people who would come and snatch his business away from him. In the worst case scenario, he would also lose his title or even his life.
"Hmph! Kabame* (You hippo)...you really did it this time. Fine, tell me your price." Wapol waited for him to negotiate.
"I only have a small request..." The man was overjoyed and did not dwell on the matter anymore. He quickly and meticulously let out the words as the overweight man listened with attention. Wapol''s features changed several times as he took in the information Outlook III had kept secret. When the man finished he had baleful grin and hurried to accept the transaction.
Shenanigans 1
Lena went away in silence; I took one last look at Lewis''s carcass before rushing into the darkness of the jungle.
The night had fallen and it was too dark to navigate properly into the forest. My eyes were abnormal, but my night vision was not optimized. The system was assisting me at that time fortunately; thanks to him I wasn''t totally lost, as I did exactly as it told me. I had locked in the area and just ran in a straight line for it. The new Devil fruit was eleven kilometers away...
It was modestly far but I could not care less. My priority right now was to prevent anyone or anything to rob the fruit before I arrived. I was dashing through the forest at full speed and it took me about fifteen minutes to reach the place. According to the speed, it meant I was running at 44 km/h for a quarter of an hour. This was close to the greatest running speed for athletes in my past world, even the sprinting world champion could only maintain such pace for a few seconds.
In terms of maximum pace, I was slower than the best sprinter in history. However, my cruising or average speed was better. The primary reason for this was my extraordinary stamina, the second was my recovery abilities. I had never noticed how fast I had become until I had to race against time.
Three attributes determined my acceleration and pace in particular. Those attributes were agility, dexterity, and endurance. On a minor degree, my sense attribute also mattered into the equation, but it could be ignored because it only influenced my reflexes and reaction time; things which were very important but not a deciding factor until they became flawless. I had very good senses but I had yet to cross that boundary... Running while using Hokuto was something I could achieve but my mastery was still shallow; added the fact that I could not trigger my survival instincts at any given time, I could not do away with these human restrictions.
To sum up, sprinting was about general maneuver, motion, and control of the body. Agility was the most important attribute obviously because it represented how fast you could move your limbs; dexterity reinforced the precision and control so that there was not any wasteful motion; while endurance was how long the body could go without tiring and weakening.
It would seem as if I was not satisfied with the level I had achieved at six, but in fact, it was not so. If those guys from my old world knew what I was thinking they would turn in grief inside their coffins. If even one of them was gifted with the stamina I had, they would have long since been able to set sprinting records impossible to beat and become guinea pigs for scientists.
"System, where is the fruit?"I questioned the system after arriving in a clearing at the edge of a low-rise hill.
"Look on your right, the bush which is situated on the sand dune in the corner there." The system said after having combed through the different berries close by. I was very anxious and as soon as I heard his response I made a dart for the fruit across the nearby shrubs.
"Fiuu... Fortunately, it''s still there. It looks like I made it in the nick of time, hehe." I smiled and glanced in an amorous manner at a strangely shaped drupe a few meters from me. The object was very different from the rest of the fruits growing on the sapling. The other crops had a purple color, almost pink. They looked like raspberries and if I was not in such a hurry I would have stopped to collect some. I was very big on fruits and especially berries with cream cheese.
Love this novel? Read it on Royal Road to ensure the author gets credit.
I got closer in order to look at the devil fruit I was about to pluck. I had yet to decide what I was going to do with my awaited harvest, but It could wait for another time. I was impatient and enthusiastic at the simple prospect of taking the object in my hands. The first devil fruit I would possess after my rebirth. Devil fruits were not extremely expensive for nothing...Even if I did not eat one myself, they were something I would need in order to develop my own littlebattalion.
"Let''s see...!" The fruit had a yellow tinge compared to the others and had some weird curly peel that looked somewhat crabby and churlish. It looked as if the fruit had been infected by some parasite to cause this sort of mutation. The patterns gave me some strange misconception; it appeared almost as if the fruit was sentient...

Release Update
So I''ve been pretty tangled up in something detrimental to my writing environment these last few days. I wrote several drafts for the next chapter a few times over and was not satisfied with the content at all.
Added the fact, that I had been so inspired before; I forgot it was necessary to actually make written guidelines...like I always used to do before smh.A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
Since I''ve solved the problem I''ll get back to my usual release schedule starting tomorrow night.
Thanks for reading the novel and I hope you enjoy the rest of it.
Shenanigans 2
Third person POV
"Ouch!" On the way back, Lena had pummeled her head to find a valid excuse to justify Lewis''s death. The only solution she had concocted was to pretend to have been attacked by surprise. She had not skimped on the means and to make her acting more credible she went so far as to mutilate herself.
At this very moment, her left arm was bloody and the crimson liquid was dripping, leaving a trace of its passage through the greenery. This little repertoire was the only way for her to avoid suspicion and thorough interrogation; she would pretend that Raoh was overwhelmingly cunning and deceitful. She had even thought about the details of how the twins used their skills and weapons to distract her while Raoh assassinated Lewis in the background.
Her husband always gave her the benefit of the doubt, but this time the one who had payed the costof her devious schemes happened to be his younger cousin. This detail was far from minor, and since they knew that the alcoholic tested her patience, she wasn''t clear of doubts.
On multiple occasions, she wondered if Brent was playing dumb or simply chose to ignore the advances made on his wife; today would be the opportunity to confirm her doubts.
Any man worthy of the name had pride and a taboo; usually centered on his wife and family. It did not matter if Lewis was his cousin, he should have been disgusted with such a disrespectful man from a long time ... She knew he would be the only crewmate she could not deceive, so her only chance was to pray that Lewis did not hold a big spot inside Brent''s heart. He had no real serviceability, and he was far from being an elite crew member.
"If I die, I can only blame myself for choosing such a poor excuse for a man as my husband..." She slapped her cheeks with her palms and put those thoughts aside. She then vanished into the trees with a self-mocking smile, wishing she was 20 years younger after meeting the handsome boy.

Inside the cabin, Luffy and company were on high alert, Hao and Ace had gone in search of Raoh. He had been missing for far too long. Luffy had reassured the group by explaining that he was probably in full night training, but after more than an hour without news and without noise, they had begun to worry. Their situation was not peaceful and it was possible for an enemy to land at any time and attack Raoh.
In such a scenario, he would be alone against an unknown number of opponents. He was extremely strong but an accident was more than conceivable.Thinking of the worst, Luffy wanted to run after his brother, but he was stopped by Hao. In the event that Raoh returned to the cabin and found no one there, it would be disastrous. Hao, therefore, proposed to divide the troops while taking into account the balance their fighting force.
Raoh''s POV
This summary thus brings us back to the present situation. Hao and Ace were lost in the bush meanders of the forest. Hao used "Spirit of Fire" to light up the surroundings and shouted aloud my name, panting and breathless by the unsuccessful search.
Unfortunately, they remained unanswered for all that time. Tired and confused, Ace offered Hao a turnaround.
"I think that''s the only thing we can do for now," Hao replied with a helpless grin.
"Anyway, if anything happened to him, we could not do much to help him ..." Ace added. He knew the extent of my power, so whatever happens, if I was not able to return to the fold, they would be useless against whoever was able to create difficulties for me.
"Maybe he''s come back already, let''s go." Ace took the lead and ran towards the return path.
**************************************************
Farther in the green surroundings, a small male form bounced at full speed, crossing plateaus and hills, plains and bushy areas in the middle of the dark night. The speed at which the figure was moving was very fast, and it was amazing to see that even after more than seven minutes of racing, it was not pausing.
This vigorous shadow was of course me. After this demanding race of 30 km at full speed, my racing skills improved and the system did not take long to give me the next notice.

"This skill looks cool...The cooldown is a bit long, but I guess running is a basic skill, so it will evolve fast." I said after checking the skill.
Then I sped up the pace, using it for the first time ever. This skill was kind of cool for the small amount of time it lasted. It wasn''t making a drastic difference as of now because of it was low leveled, but in the long run, it would become a broken skill... Just Imagining something like +50% AGI when I have a hundred base attribute is nothing short of an instant-kill hidden ability. This goes beyond the realm of the supernatural if I had to consider all of its potential as a matter of fact. I was becoming scared of what I would become in the future. If I was strong in my past life, then in this one I had jumped on the road to becoming a monster.
ZUUU!!! my speed had overcome the human limits for the first time. I could win a 100m sprint easily right now and maintain that speed for even longer stretches. If before I would just win thanks to my overall speed in a span of several seconds, then now, I would just vaporize the contest with a blinding performance unseen before in the realms of earthly humanity.
"Ok, I think I''ve played around enough for today. Let''s speed up and rejoin the others. I''m a bit worried for some reason..." I stopped messing around and accelerated.
Not too far from here, a silhouette was outlined in the darkness. If I was closer I could have distinguished the person who was watching me with a watchful and inquiring look. It was one of the pirates who had landed on the island recently, Yasopp, the unruffled and occasionally lukewarm "pistolero" (gunner) from the Redhair pirates.
"Shanks told me to watch out for those kids before we leave, but I''m blown away..." Yasopp was reluctant to take this task seriously. He did not understand why Shanks held Luffy and me in such high esteem despite my previous performance in the village. In his opinion, I was just a gifted kid with a twisted personality, nothing too uncommon, he was the same as a kid. He was considered abnormal and got bored with the small fries from his hometown. Pirating life was the perfect fit for him since nothing on land offered him any challenge.
But...
He''s been watching the fight I had with that hooligan and he was abashed. The level of aloofness shown by a six-year-old kid was monstrous. And now he''s seen me running for 30 km back and forth at high speed without letting escape a drop of sweat.
"That kid''s fighting style is just ridiculous. Beside those idiots from the CPS, I''ve never seen someone fight with such cruelty and precision at this young age. His twin was boasting about his power but man...Haha! This world is just too interesting. Raoh, huh? Let''s see how you deal with the trouble you''ve stirred up your way." Yasopp smiled and continued to track me. With a supernatural leap, he jumped through five or six tree branches without them breaking or leaving a sound. He was a sniper after all, and loud snipers were useless...
*******************************************************
My long run had finally come to an end and I arrived at the tree cabin. When I got inside I noticed the worried look on the faces of Luffy, Sabo, and Yoh. As soon as they saw me enter, they had a sigh of relief and Luffy jumped on me.
"I was worried, Raoh. Where have you gone for so long?" he asked not particularly happy.
I explained the situation and the fight I had with Lewis. Sabo and Yoh understood instantly how troublesome the following days were going to be but Luffy was excited.
"Where are Ace and Hao by the way?" I noticed they were missing.
"Looking for you. The thing is..." Yoh explained that after I had vanished for a long time they went looking for me inside the forest. He wanted to organize another small party to go and look for them but I instantly rejected the proposition. After I asked the system to look for their aura signature, he said they were on their way back, not very far away.
And soon enough, they climbed the big tree and entered the cabin with ragged breaths. When they saw me they became relieved and another summary of the situation was once again spoken out to them.
The night had been eventful and not dwelling on an already settled situation, I offered everyone to go to sleep. Everyone besides Hao and me of course. I had questions to ask him.
"So what did you want to ask?" Hao was paying close attention; he knew I was tired so it had to be something really exceptional for me to draw him out of the cabin so late.
"Look at this..." I took out the devil fruit from my trousers and put it into his hand.
"This is..." He looked perplexed. He had never seen any of these before. Where he lived he didn''t have time to read books. Also, he was a transcendent, so he wasn''t attuned to this world like other people, to begin with.
"A devil fruit. Lewis''s devil fruit." I grinned.
"Oh! So that''s what it looks like. huh?" A realization hit him almost instantly. "How did you get it?"
"That''s not important for now. Try and do something for me. I know you have your own secrets, but make that spirit of yours come out for a bit. I need to experiment with something..." I said with tact but resolutely.
"............"
Spirit of Fire
"What are you talking about?" Hao was totally thrown off by my sudden request. He was confused because he was sure he had never let slip his secrets past me. The existence of the gnome was concealed from the outside and nobody besides his brother had been able to associate the fire he generated with the mysterious''s runt identity.
I''m sure he''s not awakened, how then? This guy is such a weirdo!!......These words engulfed Hao''s cortex and shook his disturbed mind. Raoh was not a Shaman, nor was he versed in the spiritual aspect; no spiritual imprint was present in his body nor his energy. The only explanation was that he figured this out with unknown means...Never had he encountered a child as deep and mysterious, past or present included. He was reborn and he could not link back with the "Grand Spirit" for years, but he''d made progress in these last few weeks. According to his calculations, it would take another three years before he could establish back the contact with their world and channel his aura. When he lost to me before, he was impressed but not resigned, he knew once he reunited with his old pal he would thread into another dimension and leave me behind in his trails. But right now, he was subject to doubt and reconsidered his previous thoughts...I could definitely not be classified as a "commonplace" genius, and I proved it once again. Since Hao could no longer assess the number of cards I hid he was perturbed.
He knew he could not escape this inquiry; it was a guttural sense telling him, but he still made a last, desperate attempt at a semblance of dumbfoundedness. He was waiting nervously for my comeback, as he knew there was no going back from it.
He acquited himself well but difficulty as he fought against an urge to make eye contact with me.
"Don''t panic. One day you''ll understand eventually. Just take it out, and spare us more useless banter. The fact that I don''t bear any ill will is probably already clear; if not you would have attacked by now." I responded confidently and waited for him to make his decision.
"Like you said before, you and I are not much different. I wish I could be more specific, but I''m not able to do so at the moment. I''ll need you to cooperate for both our sakes, as this is beneficial for us both. Our interests in growing stronger align, am I wrong?" I added and put the last nail in the coffin; giving enough hints without breaking the restrictions imposed on the both of us".
"..." Hao frowned and went into deep thought. He crossed one arm and supported his chin with the other. He finally let out a sigh and lost his childish antics, as if the exasperation sound served as a puff to make it all seem illusory.
Hao stared at me like an injured feline and I took a step back as I thought "Oh, oh!".
I was horrified at the scene unfolding. I was familiar with bloodthirst, but the aura leaking from Hao right now was beyond your usual scary. This terrifying energy was different from mine; it did not reek the stench of murder, but something distinct altogether. It was something far more spine-chilling, compelling and majestic; "nature".
Every blade of grass, rock, tree, was locking on him, responding to a wise call bestowing upon him ancestral power, which served but one purpose; to pressure and suffocate me.
I was preparing to make my move when something unexpected took place. Hao looked behind his shoulder and restrained his aura. He exchanged with an invisible presence and nodded resentfully after a few gestures expressing protest. He smiled wryly and started to talk once more.
"Do you believe in ghosts?" He asked spookily.
I was abashed by the sudden change in behavior. "Not really," I answered in relief.
"What do you see behind me?" He continued.
"...Is there something behind you?" I did not see anything. I frowned as if it would help me assess it better. "Is he here?"
Hao heaved yet one more sigh and continued conversed in silence with the imperceptible presence.
"You can''t see it, can you?" He was about to burst out in laughter.
I blushed with embarrassment and said. "No."
"Aargh. You know what I don''t care, just come over here!" He grabbed his head and beckoned me over.
"Don''t freak out." He said to me as he put his hand on my stomach.
"??" I was puzzled.
The next moment some sort of energy started to course through my eyes, before diffusing to the rest of my body. My pores opened as they leaked out some transparent and fuzzy energy. The latter started to form swirls around my arms before enveloping me completely in an invisible barrier.
...............
I blanked out for a moment. When I was conscious again, I realized something odd; Music. SIlence had become music to me. The wind was singing, as if an entity, and then... Yet something weird was realized. I wasn''t listening with my ears, but my eyes. My body was interpreting every woosh as code or language, and I was soon in a trance state. I never did drugs, but It had to be close to what I was experiencing right now. A weird and uncontrollable merriness that kept telling every cell of my body that I was done sleeping; I was "woke" now.
The world as if trying to tell me to surrender to this feeling started to make me hallucinate, or I tried to tell myself. I was looking at everything around us differently and realized how tiny I was, and unlike what you could see in third-rate supernatural movies, this happy feeling was definitely not cool. I did not need Hao to tell me to understand what was going on. I was reborn; not physically but in the spiritual sense. To be more precise, it was my first birth, since I had been oblivious to this realm previously.
"....!" All of a sudden, Hao''s expression changed.
"??" I was confused, but then I looked at my side. Some sort of pervert-looking hat-wearing raccoon had appeared from thin air, licking a lollipop. He stared at me naively, as if waiting for something.
The next moment an ear-deafening screech sounded; the raccoon shrieked and started dancing funnily, shaking his tail left and right.
"What the fuck is that?" I asked Hao. "Hao...?"
"...."
"Hey start talking. Who''s this funny guy?" I asked once more befuddled.
"Consider this your blessing and be respectful...It appears you''re even more of a freak than I originally gave you credit for. This..." Hao shook his head in resignation.
I made the right choice, but what is this feeling? Hana''s ancestors would turn in their grave in shame right now...This guy seems to defy all common sense. I''m still more handsome than he is though...
"What do you mean?!" His choice of words was interesting. Before I could contemplate on it, the familiar sound bothered me again.

The weird raccoon from before jumped happily and made a salute with both hands into the air. The next moment he vanished after the ravenous screech sounded with even more conviction and insistence than before.
I fought an itch to look up as I felt what was up would prevent me from getting sleep in the next few days. I clicked yes on the prompt and the system was once more at work.
"That friend of yours is smarter than he lets on...I remember you looking into the sky that time ages ago. Hehe." A feeble but playful voice said
"Don''t tease me Firey. This time you were right, I admit it okay?!" Hao smiled and said. Centuries have passed but this guy''s instinct is still spot on...
"..." Spirit of fire had a meaningful look on his face.
"What?" Hao acted innocent.
"Don''t play dumb, I know what you plan to do. Hmph!"
"Don''t worry I won''t hurt him, he''s my friend. It''s less potent but I''ll make a copy" He responded.
"Really?" The little guy was surprised.
"Yeah. I like him..." Hao blushed. He looked at Spirit of fire and said after clearing up his face. "Wipe that look of your face, we both know I don''t swing that way..."
"Hehe! I was just teasing you. I hope Grandie agrees. You know how crazy that fellow is." The runt warned.
"......" Hao remained silent at the words. He knew this better than anyone.
.......................................
I looked at the window in front of me with more curiosity and enthusiasm than usual.

[Resurrection...Wait!!! FOR REAL?!!!]
"Host is a fully-fledged oddity now...That skill is not as great as you might think it is I must say, however." The funny guy seemed serious for once.
How?
"That animal from before..." The system lets out those words float ominously.
What''s wrong with that Raccoon? I asked in wonder. His reaction was a bit off from usual.
"........" The system remained silent.
I don''t have time for this goodbye. I was going to put my hand on the cross.
"Kid, I''ll talk. Just know that you don''t need to rush, branding is fine. Just don''t use that other......!" He was cut before he could finish his sentence.
[That was odd, to say the least. What was that all about? He knows that strange animal for sure...Also about that skill. That minus luck might be a big problem. Maybe this is related.]
"Looks like it''s a success..." Hao smiled in consternation. "You''ve even awakened that special feature apparently"
Although I''m pretty sure he himself isn''t aware of it yet. He thought sneakily
"So, can you see now?" He asked once again.
Something climbed on his shoulder and grew bigger. When I turned my head I was so freaked I almost screamed.
What welcomed my eyes was a gigantic, red robotic-like figure with antlers. A mecha would be the most accurate word to describe the monster that was now inflating like a balloon. He had fascinating green, fluorescent eyes and horizontal deer-like horns growing from each side of his head. His body was tattooed with white markings that followed a meaningful pattern, seemingly exuding an undecipherable grander purpose, other than to make him look horrendously cool.
The ghost examined me intently and beamed. The next moment he deflated and regained his small frame. He started spinning around me like a whirligig. His flying patterns were similar to an air force plane; to be honest, even the speed, angle and the sound were the same. This "ghost" was akin to an engineered plane, and only had fire and his appearance as an addition.
When he was finally bored, he stopped and landed on my shoulder, while flicking his oversized feline paw extremely cutely.
"Nice to meet you! My name is Spirit of Fire; you can call me Firey if you like." The runt said cheerfully.
"I''m Raoh. Nice to meet you too." He was totally different from before. [This guy is insanely cute OMG.]
"I think he likes you. You''ve become a Shaman now as well by the way..." Hao clarified.
"Shaman?" I played dumb.
"Well,..." Hao started to explain to me the ins and outs of Shamans and Shamanic magic...
"...In short you''ll be able to interact with guys like this idiot over here." Hao finished.
Spirit of Fire started to launch attack at his master.
When they finished messing around, Firey looked at the object inside my hands and said.
"What kind of crooked up design do you need me for? Let me tell you, that thing you hold is nothing to joke around with...."

Spiritual Imprint
The little guy who was like a happy wisp a few seconds before, changed his tone and expression after a look in the crack of my palm. His words could not be defined as furtive, far from it, there was a sense of fear.
I was asking a lot of questions about this fruit and it seemed I finally had my answer.
"Do you care to explain your words?" I interrogated the fire spirit.
¡°That thing you¡¯re holding has nothing to do with the spiritual world. In fact, even with my spiritual wisdom, it¡¯s impossible for me to peer into its nature and composition...¡±
¡°Then what makes you so anxious?¡± I could not figure out the reason for his worries.
¡°That¡¯s exactly why I¡¯m anxious. Do you even understand what spiritual wisdom is about? Any lifeform or object obeys a certain set of rules; rules which allow for them to be classified into different groups, according to their spiritual imprints, degree of energy, type of aura, etc¡¡± He took a pause to see if I was following his train of thought.
¡°I see, so what are you trying to say?¡± I wasn¡¯t patient enough to listen to the rest of his expos¨¦.
¡°This thing you¡¯re holding does not have any spiritual imprint. It¡¯s basically a spiritual outlaw.¡± Firey finally came to the point.
¡°.....¡± I remained silent trying to grasp all these concepts in one-go. I was not familiar with the world of spirits.
Spirit of Fire looked at me curiously, it took him a while to figure out that I was not versed on the subject. He asked Hao why I was being so quiet, whom explained after making fun of him as usual. Far from getting exasperated and balking at the task, the fire wisp went into a detailed spiritual tutorial, which lasted for about 40 minutes. This book''s true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.
He answered most of my questions, and enlightened me not only on the concepts he had mentioned before, but also on others that I thought were good to know. As an occultist it was important for me to have a conceptual understanding of the spiritual world.
As it turned out, every existing creature or object, possessed an imprint referred as ¡°Spiritual imprint¡±. This peculiar imprint made possible for people such as Hao and I, occultists, to be able to track down an object¡¯s birth process, ancestry, spiritual memory, and abilities, etc.
Without this particular imprint, it was impossible to control and establish a link, with the specific object or creature on a spiritual plane. Even if the specific object or creature has its own soul, it would be impossible for one to track it down and communicate with it. In other words, this was why these peculiar individuals, were called outlaws, and not because they were lawless.
According to the two of them, this devil fruit could not be studied by us. Eating it was fine, but messing around with it and trying to experiment on it was too dangerous right now. Hao said that altering and unlocking spiritual imprints was possible, but it went through as specific technique called ¡°Awakening¡±,that was specific to this world and its energy. I couldn¡¯t help but remember the ¡°Awakening¡± box I previously witnessed on Lewis when he was the still the devil fruit holder¡
The system did not deem the information I received as falsified or fake. When I asked him if the method he had in store was the same, he only said to work on my spiritual Haki. Eventually I would figure out the truth¡
I was a little disappointed not to have been able to solve this mystery immediately, but the future held for us a lot more surprises than I had envisaged at that time. I put the fruit in my pockets and turned back to the cabin with Hao and Firey. It was high time for us to go to bed; the days before us were going to be terribly agitated.

Meanwhile, Lena had finally returned to the fold. Unlike the first trip she did not go to the cave, but she took a path to a huge boat floating a Jolly Roger shaped wooden sword. The boat looked much like a miniature city with all kinds of utilities. A bar, small trees and an artificial fountain were even installed on the little but rocky main square that linked to the main cabins.
Lena had a picturesque appearance; she had blood dripping from her mouth and her dress was torn badly in some places. She limped a little and caught the attention of the crew members. Some of them wanted to rush to alert their captain, but they were convinced otherwise with very little persuasion. The woman was a calamity after all and no one wanted to tell the captain that his wife had just returned to shreds, unless one wished to be gutted.
¡°I have a few hours to go over my story before the big bad wolves come back from their hunting session¡¡± Lena collapsed on her bed as she murmured this. She thought back on the kid¡¯s actions and smiled.
¡°I need to make this work at all costs. This little demon is far too precious for me to shrink back on the plan now. Let¡¯s hope I did not misjudge Brent¡¯s character.¡± She said resolutely.
Luffy vs Yoh 1
Yoh was perched on the roof of the cabin, watching the stars sparkle across the sky. He had decided to stay awake while waiting for the return of his brother and Raoh. It was good because he usually had trouble sleeping. These last days had been rich in emotions, although he already adapted himself to life in this new world, albeit with a bit more challenge than his twin brother.
He was like Raoh and had left love behind him. Except he was actually a married old man. The events determined that he could not bid goodbye to his wife and children before leaving. He could not even assist to the birth of his grandchild. To be honest he did not know how he was confined in this dimension during his ultimate expedition. As the heir and leader of the Asakura clan, still, he had responsibilities to consider. The price to pay was a little too high this time...
When they gave the coup de grace to their portentous foe, It opened a portal that sent them here. Their respective organizations, patch, and Asakura might have ruled them dead by now... It was high time for him to turn the page. Yoh heaved one last sigh resolved to accept his fate. He had been nostalgic before and thought that his illness would take his life away. But since he was healthy now, there was no more reason for him to live in the past. His own brother was the best example to follow, just accept the truth that they might never return and live this new life to the fullest.
He was not ready to accept other people into his heart, but he would see how things would go. His best friend had come along with him, so there was no need to be totally negative.
"Amidamaru, let''s go to sleep, tomorrow will be a long day," Yoh urged the hazy shade behind him.
He jumped inside the cabin and did not wait for the shadow to emulate. The ghost glimpsed one last time at the firmament and followed in a hurry.

At this time, the head duo closed in on the tree. they spoke of some details before finally settling down to snooze like the others. This day had been hectic and they decided to sleep on it. Querying for solutions was ineffective sometimes; right now their genuine duty was to retain steam, in order to bear the Brent Pirates'' counter-attack.
*******************************************************
The next day, Yoh came to talk with Raoh; apparently, he noticed that something had changed inside of him. He could feel the Shamanic energy bursting from him. When he asked Hao why Raoh had become a shaman despite not possessing any spirit, the latter just smiled helplessly.
He was also curious; figuring this question out would put his mind at ease. But Raoh was that kind of individual anyway, it would not do much to look too much into his secrets. Hao murmured some words into Yoh''s ear. After hearing it Yoh''s expression became white. If what Hao had said was true, it would not be surprising if Raoh rendered more bewilderment in the future. He was curious to find a spirit to help him develop his own shamanic set of skills. When Raoh heard about shamanic skills he became instantly interested. Yesterday he had only crossed the theoretical and basic knowledge with Hao and Firey. He was more interested in the advanced part of the course.
Yoh just smiled and proposed to demonstrate what he meant. His own brother could be classified as a magician among Shamans, but he was more of a fighter.
He did not go into details. Raoh impatient offered a training session to monitor the damage by himself. When they finished their breakfast, they headed for a quiet clearing.
The moment the two fighters put themselves in a fighting position, Luffy burst in, followed by Ace and Sabo and said :
"Bro, let me have a little fun today. It''s been a while since I wanted to test my abilities against a worthy adversary! Hehe. "
Luffy vs Yoh 2
Raoh asked Luffy why he was up so early in the morning. Luffy loved to laze in bed, no matter what environment he slept in. Garp had already made them sleep in more difficult circumstances, but his slumber had always been deep and callous. No matter who or what was trying to bother him, Luffy always slept like a drunkard, showing no care for the people or noise surrounding him. Something really major had to go down for this sloth to wake up so promptly.
When Raoh inquired, Luffy said that he was hunting pheasants in his dreams, but they were so fast that he got mad and woke up in a frenzy when he let them escape. As soon as he got up, he noticed there was no breakfast left; alarmed, he dressed in a hurry and went looking for Raoh. As for Ace and Sabo, they were fearing that the careless fellow might lose his way inside the woods¡
Raoh figured that since Luffy had not eaten his breakfast yet this bout might turn out to be a bit hazardous for Yoh. Years before, he realized that Luffy usually became weaker when he was hungry. This was also one of the reasons why he wanted to teach him Hokuto, as the state of hunger could be mentally influenced even by beginners. Luffy wasn¡¯t able to really go past his bodily limits and become a monster like his twin, but he could mislead his brain certainly. Ignoring hunger for one day or two wouldn¡¯t be a problem and he could fight at 80%.
The only problem was that his silly brother didn¡¯t have a very good control over his strength output when he was in this unnatural state. He hurt Ace quite a few times over the years trying to master it, and even Sabo was somewhat reluctant to spar with him despite his plethora of defensive skills. Raoh had tried to evince the reason his body responded in such a way, but he could never put two and two together. This little devil loved to eat and even a stalwart ancestral technique could not deceive his body.
¡°Hao, how strong exactly is your brother compared to you?¡± Raoh was a bit worried so he asked. He looked at Yoh, not seeing what was sacred about him. His appearance did not speak much in favor of his might. Yoh wasn¡¯t very athletic, and the headphones he always wore bolstered his nerdy image. If Yoh was a student back in Raoh''s world he probably would be the unpopular kid hidden at the back of the classroom. Not that Raoh went to school, but he wasn¡¯t an ascetic monk either; he had some awareness about his questionable society.
¡°I think you have the wrong impression.¡± Hao did not look at Raoh when he said this.
¡°How?¡± Raoh frowned at his words.
¡°...Before Yoh got sick he was stronger than me.¡± He smiled awkwardly as he said this. His gaze directed toward Yoh.
¡°You¡¯re kidding right?¡± Raoh was doubtful.
¡°Not at all, our fighting history stands to a record of 1712-1426 even though this guy wasn¡¯t healthy in years...I don¡¯t have to mention when I got the advantage, do I?¡± He added casually.
¡°He¡¯s that good?¡¡± Raoh understood Hao had no reason to lie. If this was true, however, then Luffy had no chance to win. He did not want his brother to suffer a crushing defeat, but in hindsight, he was reassured for Yoh.
¡°Yes, he is, in more ways than you can picture¡¡± Hao remembered his past. The only reason why he was so strong in the past was that of the Great Spirit. Now he and his brother had the same starting line. It was only Yoh¡¯s second lifetime contrary to him, but since he retained his memories it wasn¡¯t a mystery as to why he was this strong. The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.
The young children observed the two fighters as they discussed more Luffy¡¯s chances.
Soon, the two were ready for their showdown,
****************************************
¡°Don''t worry I¡¯ll go easy on you.¡± CRACK! Luffy cracked his fingers confidently. It could be misunderstood as him trying to intimidate his opponent, but that was his routine before a fight.
Raoh sighed and put a palm on his face as he heard the words. Hao simply chuckled, whereas Ace and Sabo looked confused. They couldn¡¯t understand their attitudes.
¡°You might reconsider those words in a few¡¡± Yoh withdrew a dagger from his waist and took a protective stance. As soon as he took out the dagger the flow of energy around him changed. The wind started to make the grass dance as both fighters were anticipating their moves.
Suddenly Yoh¡¯s spirit appeared. It was a long white haired samurai, dressed in a kimono. His demeanor was intimidating, as his gigantic sword moved in synchronized motion with the shaman in front of him.
The next moment Luffy broke the staredown. He took off impatiently and rashly from his position, as he advanced with long strides towards Yoh. He had left his right arm behind him stretch very strangely, while the rest of his body sped up forward.
¡°Gomu-Gomu no Pistol!¡± Luffy shouted loudly. His arm shot towards Yoh with unbelievable momentum.
Yoh frowned and used his dagger in the manner of a shield. The spirit behind mimicked him funnily enough.
CLASH!! Yoh received the full extent of the blow. He did not even take a step back. Being a shaman Raoh saw that Yoh¡¯s energy outlet had increased when he coordinated with the Samurai in order to receive the attack.
¡°His spirit is called Amidamaru. He¡¯s the remaining soul of a Bushido warrior. I don¡¯t want to spoil all the fun, but this was Kendo you just witnessed. It¡¯s a sword technique that Samurais and swordsmen use in general. Being a shaman allows for Yoh to tap into his spirit¡¯s knowledge, and thus his techniques, as well as his fighting style.¡± Hao clarified.
¡°Hmm...so that¡¯s why you use fire. I mean, your spirit is a fire essence and all?¡± Raoh asked curiously.
¡°Yeah, you could put it this way I guess. Shamanic abilities are highly dependant on your spirit, but also your own personality and creativity. Some shamans can develop new skills for their spirits, as well as teach, or let them benefit from your own fighting experience and repertoire.¡± He continued with the lesson.
¡°We¡¯ll talk about this in more detail when you get your own spirit. We don¡¯t want to miss the fun, look!¡± Hao pointed at the fight.
¡°You¡¯re strong. Ha!...¡± Luffy exhaled as he praised his opponent. He had launched several attacks without success.
¡°You¡¯re not bad yourself.¡± Yoh returned the praise. ¡° But if that¡¯s all you got, you better give up now.¡± I haven¡¯t even used 50% of my power outside of my oversoul form. Yoh thought in silence.
¡°Luffy!¡± Raoh yelled. Luffy stared at his twin for several seconds. They seemed to be communicating with their eyes.
¡°He¡¯s that strong huh?¡± Luffy looked dispirited for a moment. But then the next instant his eyes sparkled with a dangerous glow.
¡°Raoh are you sure that¡¯s a good idea?¡± Sabo gasped as he perceived the essence of something.
¡°.....¡± Raoh remained silent for a few moments. He then said. ¡°It should be fine if it¡¯s only one strike, I¡¯m here so if something goes amiss I¡¯ll meddle.
Not far from there, a playful wisp was listening in secret to the kid''s talk. When he heard the content of their conversation he smiled evilly and thought.
I have a score to settle with that shitty Samurai, but that move description seems a tad sinister... Spirit of fire complained inwardly.
Tribulations 1
Luffy was ready for trouble, waiting for Raoh''s signal to engage.
He could either give up against this strong opponent or go full strength. Yoh was definitely too powerful for him to go softly, and his brother giving such a look was a testimony to it. He trusted in him more than anyone.
"What are you waiting for...?" Yoh asked. Luffy had not moved for some time now. He was probably frustrated and wished to relinquish their spar. Yoh sighed in disappointment; he hated people who acted like this. As long as they kept winning, their world was fine but met with struggle, they played the victim. He was the lazy type as well, but once he got into something, he would give his all. People usually had this misconception that he wasn''t the reliable type, and he always proved them wrong.
He didn''t show disdain or superiority towards procrastinating and inactivepeople, but he hated those who didn''t show backbone and only knew to boast. Luffy initiated this bout, so he had to show something for it, otherwise, he''d lose his respect. Especially since he went easy on the kid.
"I can''t wait anymore!!" Luffy''s patience ran out. He looked at Yoh and grinned savagely. The latter had an uneasy feeling. Luffy didn''t waste any more of his time and closed his eyes in meditation...
Suddenly, the ground below started to shake.
"I''m having mixed feelings about this..." Raoh smiled bitterly.
"Humph! This guy has no self-restraint. I''m totally against this." Ace grumbled.
*******************************************
What followed was totally unexpected. Luffy used his full powered punches and techniques against Yoh. But even with a killing intent, he could not change the fight''s flow.
The first attack almost caught Yoh unguarded, but as soon as he saw the change, he used his oversoul form. Yoh transformed. His arm was suddenly recovered with heavy eastern armor and the blade grew almost ten times in size. This wasn''t visible to the naked eye, and only the two shamans on the side were able to witness the mutation. Yoh only used one sweep of his enormous dagger to rout Luffy''s rebellion. The blade was invisible to neophytes, and he wasn''t able to shunt or dodge. When he woke up he had a good laugh but didn''t forget to request another match after he got fed.
After lunch, they all agreed they needed to hide their trails from the pirates, before coming up with the next plan. They took their luggage and left for another tree far away. This new location was more covert than the other. It was close to a waterfall Ace had come to discover during hunts. It was both hidden and relaxing. They weren''t clear on what they were going to do next so they didn''t arrange a shelter right away.Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
After having lunch, Raoh needed some alone time. He wanted to check his new skills and study their functions. His last skill, in particular, stood out from the rest.
In this lifetime Raoh had people he needed to protect, and this skill was tailored for the task. He wasn''t worried about anyone dying on him anymore. It didn''t matter if the skill diminished his luck; it was really not something someone that just obtained the elixir of life or the philosophical stone should fret over. He understood the risk, however; Raoh wasn''t an idiot; he had read stories about such elixirs and mysterious artifacts; there was always a tremendously heavy price to pay when someone went against the laws of nature...He also remembered the system''s attitude...
"System, wake up." Raoh suddenly said.
"Does host need help for something?..." The system''s response was quick this time. He wasn''t this prompt most of the time, as he had misgivings about waking up from his mysterious dreams.
You probably already know what I want to ask, you secretive sloth... Raoh thought.
"I think we need to have a talk about my new skill..." Raoh didn''t beat around the bush. He wasn''t really in a hurry to use the resurrection ability. But just now; he remembered that he had left Lewis''s corpse to rot in the woods. He always found Doctor Frankenstein to be a creepy motherfucker but put inside the latter shoes, he was wavering.
He was recalling something his old master had said to him when he wanted to learn forbidden techniques :
"Raoh, you shouldn''t seek absolute power. Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts you even more..."
At the time he didn''t understand his master, but time proved that he was an experienced man.
"...Before I say anything, I want you to make a promise." The system gravely replied.
**************************************************************************************
Several men were gathered around a fountain. You could feel the nervousness at the end of their fingers. At that moment, all the eyes were turned to a tall and heavily armored man. He had just killed one of their crew members. The man who had died just let escape three words before being strangled alive.
"Lewis is dead ..." those words were the last the poor young fellow had said.
Desmond regretted his impulsive gesture, but everyone knew killing just one idiot wasn''t considered cruel here...
Their captain returned in a very good mood today, and the peace-loving muscle mountain he was, wanted him to stay that way a little more. Unfortunately, this shiny and hazy newbie spoiled the party.
The murderer looked behind him and sighed when he saw his captain''s face.
"Master, did I dream or did we hear the same thing? ..." A ponytail teenage girl, who had everything tied beside her tongue, exclaimed.
Desmond''s expression couldn''t be darker now.
News
Recently I''ve developed this marvelous ability where when I write new chapters people unfollow, and when I don''t they follow...u_u
I''ve decide to take a break because my laziness gets rewarded apparently.
Happily writing a chapter, just to find out that I lost five followers the next day is a pretty special feeling. If anyone wants to take this novel off my hands and continue it, I''ll consider. The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Whenever I become a better author or I get out of my feelings I''ll come back. Right now the irony is too strong on me.
This is a bunch of gibberish, but I had to say it as I''m pretty salty. That''s all I wanted to say, so peace...
The End
Hello, been a while. I have good and bad news to tell.
The good news is that I am back on the site.
Writing was a hobby for me at first when I started a year and a half ago, but it quickly turned into something I saw as a chore.
I''ll be honest with you all, when I began writing this particular fanfic I was...let''s say testing the waters. I didn''t know that fist of the north star would make such an impact in a one piece crossover. I had really no clue what the number of views and follows I was getting really meant.
Hell, I even got reviews in Portuguese smh.
At first, it was all fun and games but then I started to feel less and less joy writing this piece. The reason was simple really ...The author''s content has been appropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
I realized I''m not the type of guy who wants to write fanfics. Not just because it''s someone else''s work, but because at the end of the day, it''s not something really fulfilling. That''s just my personal opinion, which is a bit hypocritical since I also read Harry Potter fanfics.
But some can handle new readers that come with expectations concerning plot and routes, others can''t. I belong to the latter category apparently.
Disappointing as it may be, I don''t think I will ever write fanfics again.
I''m basically writing this message to say that it''s time for you to give up on this work. At least, it''s time to stop waiting for me to finish it. If anyone wants to continue this piece send me a message and we''ll discuss.
The good news is that I''m back a with new work and actual drive to finish it.
Thanks for everything and sorry if I disappointed anyone.
