《Foe of Reality》
Prologue
A beautiful woman is standing inside of a dark cabin, next to a small window. The soft moonlight is soothing her left cheek as she puts some of her long ginger hair behind her ear. She chuckles at the movement of her sleeping new born.
Outside of the cabin is a crackling fire. Trotting steps of horses are heard in the distance. This means father has returned from a journey to the nearest city, Elydor. The mother grabs her child, still sleeping soundly and walks out the front door to welcome the father.
Multiple horses appear out of the woods and stand still in front of the cabin. The father jumps off his brown horse and pats it on the back. ¡°My love¡± He whispers as he walks closer to the woman.
She smiles and tries to hug the father but he declines. ¡°We have some upsetting news¡± The father says while 5 other men jump off their horses. The men look cold-hearted, and wear shining silver armor. ¡°You aren¡¯t going away again, are you?¡± the woman asks slowly. She noticed the stern look on her husband¡¯s face, and got scared. Her intuition was to run, run as far away as possible. But why?A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
The father looked at the other men, and then back. The moon has been covered by white clouds as he looks back at her. ¡°You betrayed me¡± The father screams ¡°You bewitched me¡±. ¡°what?¡± The mother says. ¡°witches are not to be trusted..¡± The father whispered.
He grabs the baby from her arms and walks up to the cabin. The woman runs to the father but the armored men already got her by her arms and legs. ¡°Why?!¡± She screamed ¡°Don¡¯t hurt him.. Don¡¯t hurt my baby¡±. ¡°I won¡¯t¡± The father said without looking back. The fire made a roaring blaze sound as the mother tried to speak.
The 5 men carried her away, tying her to one of the big white horses. She kept screaming. Screaming on the top of her lungs. The father disappeared in the cabin.
Chapter 1
After the mother had been taken away and trialed for being a witch, she passed away. The father always thought he was bewitched, but after 8 years every time he thinks of her, his heart still beats.
The father had weakened, his muscles have become softer, his face got more wrinkly, his skin got more tanned from working and hunting in the bright sun.
He took care of their son, showed him how to be a man. But he also learned him how to cook. The kid refused to kill any animal, and his father accepted his choice.
He knew he had done wrong every time he looks his son into his big blue eyes, like the mother had. Every birthday of their son, the father cried in his room before congratulating his son. Knowing the boy had to grew up without a mother. Every birthday of the boy, they purchased strawberries and other fruits from the local market in Elydor.
The boy walks up to his father after the father came home from hunting and collecting fruits. ¡°Dad?¡± the boy asks with a smile on his face ¡°Can I play near Elydor?¡±. The father kneeled down and put his big hand on top of the little boy¡¯s golden hair. The father thought about it for a minute. ¡°Only if you promise to be home by dawn, and don¡¯t talk to strangers¡± the father replied. ¡°Yes!¡± The boy shouted in excitement. This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.
The boy walked outside and took a moment to appreciate nature as it is. The wind flows through his half long blonde hair, as he walks through the woods. After a couple of minutes he sees a flowing river with rocks and fish. He stops to collect some shiny rocks and continues his little adventure.
As he steps through bushes and crawls under low hanging branches he finally sees a big field with other children playing. A group of boys and girls are running around and jumping in the small river. The boy sees a nice spot to sit and enjoy the sun. A big oak tree next to the river with some white flowers. He walks up to the tree, dodging some of the running children so they won¡¯t clash into him, and he sits down. Peacefully and quiet he leans back and looks up to the clouds.
One of the children that was playing noticed him. The child had curly brown hair, a slight tan and big Amber eyes that shined like crystals. The child was intrigued by the boy, and decided to walk over to him.
Chapter 1 Part 2
¡°hi, I¡¯m Vasilios¡± the brown haired boy said ¡°Who are you?¡±. ¡°I¡¯m not supposed to talk to strangers¡± the blonde boy says as he glares off into the distance. Vasilios comes closer and sits next to the blonde boy against the big brown oak tree and responds ¡°How else would you make friends?¡±. The blond boy turns his head around to see who was talking to him, he proceeds to look back at the muddy ground and grins ¡°yeah, you¡¯re right. I¡¯m Andreas¡±.
Vasilios¡¯s eyes were sparkling while interacting with a new potential friend ¡°you have a great name, did you know your name means ¡® Manly¡¯?¡±. Andreas picks up a small rock that was laying against one of the roots of the big oak tree and slowly throws it into the stream which was only one feet away. ¡°My father never told me that¡± Andreas said with a smile. The boys look at each other and laugh about the dry conversation. The boys talk for a little while and decide to say goodbye for the day, the sun was setting and they didn¡¯t want to come home late.
¡°Will you come out to play again?¡± Vasilios asked as he stood up from sitting to the tree for way to long. ¡°Yes, of course!¡± Andreas replied. Vasilios ran to his other friends and looked back one more time, only to see that Andreas had already vanished from his spot at the tree.
Vasilios and the other children walk the opposite way of the tree, follow some smaller trees and finally end up on a road made from twigs, pebble stone and mud. After 10 minutes they arrive at a small entrance of Elydor. The entrance has two big pearly white pillars and four soldier-like men guarding the front. Vasilios and his friends walk through the entrance and all go a different way home. Vasilios walks straight ahead and walks by the local market. At the end of the street he makes a sharp turn left, revealing a couple of small houses. One of them had a big window and a bright red door which Vasilios¡¯s mother painted herself. Vasilios knocks on the window. After a couple of seconds the door opens and reveals a woman with tied up black hair, a long yellow dress and a stained cooking apron. ¡°Mom!¡± Vasilios shouted happily as he jumped and hugged her. Behind the woman is a small man with loose work-clothing and a fisher-hat ¡°My boy¡± the man said with a gentle voice ¡°let¡¯s eat dinner and you can tell us all about your day¡±.Did you know this text is from a different site? They all go inside and have dinner. Vasilios told his parents that he was playing and met a new boy, whom he found very mysterious but also exciting. ¡°What did the boy look like?¡± the mom asks as she interrupts the story of Vasilios, who was clearly just bluffing about his conversation skills. ¡°well¡± Vasilios says with a chunk of bread in his mouth ¡°The boy had very bright hair, I don¡¯t see blonde hair that often. And his eyes were crystal blue, just like the water!¡±. Vasilios swallows his over chewed piece of bread and continues ¡°Oh, and his name was Andreas¡±.
The mother and father looked each other in the eye and looked back at their son. You could see more folds in their wrinkles as they think of what to say. ¡°I think it¡¯s time for a bed time story, son¡± the father says to Vasilios.
Chapter 2: The Story of Selene
Once upon a full moon, A strong soldier was patrolling the deep dark forests of Elydor. The soldier was waking sure there were no intruders or wild animals that could attack the city. After doing his nightly duty, he decides to let his horse drink from the nearby & Famous stream; The Wanderer. Every person in the city uses this stream so they won¡¯t get lost hunting, and even at night will be able to find their way back by following the reflection of the moon in the clear water.
The soldier climbs off the horse and let the horse rest. He pets the side of the white horse and says ¡°Good job girl, tomorrow another night¡±. The soldier sits down next to the drinking horse and the streaming water. He grabs a hand of the full moon water and rubs it against his face to clean the excess sweat from the patrol.
In a few minutes another sound can be heard. It¡¯s a humming sound of a woman, singing a song quietly. It¡¯s very close by so the soldier decided to walk through some bushes to see who it was. The soldier pushes away some branches from his face and steps over a small bush with yellow flowers. A few feet away is a woman in heavy drapes kneeling in front of the stream. It appears she is cleaning a handful of blueberries. ¡°Ma¡¯am? Pardon me, but you¡¡± The soldier says but shuts down when the woman looks to her side.Stolen novel; please report.
The full moon is reflecting on her pale skin, The drapes on her head shift and you could see a bit of bright red hair complimenting her small features. Her light-grey eyes stand out, but also blend in with the darkness of the forest. ¡°but you¡ have a beautiful voice¡± The soldier said without thinking. The woman grinned and finishes washing her blueberries. ¡°I also have a beautiful name, care to hear it?¡± she said boldly. The soldier was stunned by her looks, her voice and her bold attitude. ¡°yes ma¡¯am¡± he said while he scratches the side of his face In awe.
¡°My name is Selene¡± She says while slowly walking up to the soldier ¡°And you?¡±.After introducing each to one another they decide to walk together to the soldier¡¯s horse. ¡°Well, it was a pleasure to meet you, Sir Benjamin Flavius¡± Selene says playfully as she side eyes the soldier.
¡°Why have you come here?¡± Asked Selene. The woman looks at the ground and says ¡°I come from afar, wandering the stream in search for a place to call home¡±.
Chapter 2 Part 2
The soldier Benjamin was so intrigued by the woman Selene that he walked with her following the stream. They were both getting tired, so Benjamin suggested they went to Elydor on his horse to find shelter. After ten minutes or so, they arrived at one of the gates of Elydor.
2 out of the 4 guards stopped them. The guard on the right spoke and said, ¡°Wait Sir, who did you bring to Elydor?¡±. Benjamin side eyes the guards and said ¡°I found a damsel in the woods; she was alone and afraid. I had to bring her here, to show hospitality¡±. The two guards step aside and let Benjamin and Selene inside.
They get off the horse, and take a turn left. ¡°Did you believe that?!¡± Selene laughs ¡°They fell for the whole distressed damsel thing?¡±. Benjamin chuckles and shushes her ¡°Hey, watch out they might hear you¡±.
They went up to a cottage looking house with a sign ¡°Bar for commons¡±. Benjamin tied his horse to one of the tree¡¯s nearby and jogged up to Selene. ¡°Are you ready to find some shelter? This means you actually do have to play the damsel you despise¡± Benjamin said softly. Selene only looks at him and takes her hood off and rips a little bit of her dress by her chest.
Benjamin pushes the door open only to find all the heads turned to them. ¡°I¡¯m back from patrol¡± Benjamin says, ¡°I found a woman on my way back¡±.
Some of the men scream at her like any other drunken lad trying to impress a woman. The bar owner comes up to Benjamin and asked him ¡°How in the hell did you, Benjamin, find a rare jewel like this?¡±. ¡°Well, you know me. I always get the most unexpected¡± Benjamin responded. They sit down at one of the wooden tables. The stool was hard and uncomfortable. Not to mention, the floorboards were slippery from drunken men dropping beer. The owner walks back up to his bar and starts pouring in beer for Benjamin. If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.
Selene failed to mention she wasn¡¯t wearing any shoes, so her feet were absolutely drenched in sticky beer. However, this didn¡¯t seem to bother her as much. Selene gets up and walks herself over to the bar. She leans over the counter so the you-know¡ªwhat is fairly exposed and asks in a high voice ¡°Can you please, make that two?¡±. The owner looked at her but was so compelled by her looks that he did just that, made it two beers.
Selene grabs the two beers and walks herself back to their table. Benjamin was watching her perform that act and was astonished. ¡°How did y- ¡°Benjamin stutters ¡°- I mean, wow. You, my lady, has some magic inside of you¡±. Selene puts some of her hair behind one ear and smiles ¡°I know¡±.
After a while of Selene making conversation with different men, the son of the owner came downstairs to show off his collection of fish to his father. When he got down and gave his father the bucket of fish, he saw something red from his eye corners. He turns around and sees Selene. ¡°Her hair¡± the son whispers ¡°It¡¯s as bright as the berries in the woods¡±. His father wanted to say something to him but he was already off to check out the new woman.
¡°Excuse me¡± The son says to Selene ¡°I¡¯m Calvin, and who is this beautiful fair lady?¡±. Selene looks him up and down and answers ¡°I¡¯m Selene. Do you per chance have somewhere I could rest for the night?¡±. Calvin is startled but nods ¡°I can arrange something, If you mind following me?¡±. ¡°Of course.¡± Selene says and follows him.
They go outside the bar and walk around it. They pass the horse and go right. Calvin grabs a tent and some wool. They walk up to a small fisher pond which is just located inside of elydor. Another exit is nearby. Calvin sets up the tent and the wool for Selene. ¡°Do you need anything in return of this favor?¡± Selene asks Calvin as he is about to walk away. ¡°No, your sight has blessed my week. Thank you that I was able to help such a pretty lady¡±. Calvin takes off and Selene goes inside of the tent.
