    ¡°What theis this place?¡± saidwhile he was still dazed,what puzzled him more was the fact that he was naked all over, like why does he need to be naked, when he was talking to the old man he had his school uniform on,just believed that it was a petty revenge by the god for him because of the irritation he caused it, but after thinking for a while, he decided to walk out of this dusty ass place, pushing the big ass double door that seemed to have not been open in ages, took almost all of his strength, giving him more reasons to think that this was an abandoned church with the creaking sound of the door he was met with a wide expanse of forest. He surveyed all around and found out that the abandoned church was located at the middle of nowhere.thought that this place was probably the place where they prayed for the old man before.

Maron wondered how it operated, in which Wuglat replied ¡°There¡¯s a mana stone behind it¡±. ¡®Mana Stone, huh, just like a game¡¯ Maron thought, he still couldn¡¯t believe how this game like world work, but he accepted that this was not his world, and resolved to just accept everything as it were.


    Wuglat left for a moment and got back quickly, he gave Maron new clothes that fit his size, after that he decided to leave Maron alone and give him some rest, after seeing Wuglat left, Maron closed the door and laid on his bed. He pondered for a while about what happened today, ¡®What now?, what do I do now?¡¯ he asked himself, and seated at the side of the bed after.

The duo could now hear thundering footsteps.

    The party now entered the cave, their formation was three rows of two, Typha and Aja in the front Maron and Wuglat in the middle, and Sakura and Lakian at the rear. This formation was formulated by Typha, he put the two in the middle because they were the weakest of the group. Inside the cave was dark and only the light from the torches provided them vision.     The party has been walking for a while, the cave was slowly getting tighter the more they go deep inside, what¡¯s strange is that they have never encountered any monsters, this gave them a terrible feeling, when suddenly Sakura found a door, everything they passed by was either a rock or a stone, except this door, it was made out of wood.


    ¡°Why would there be a wooden door here?¡± Sakura wondered, everyone else was disturbed by what Sakura said.


    ¡°What door?¡± Typha asked.


    ¡°Can¡¯t you see it? It''s right there, a wooden door¡± Sakura said pointing at the wall beside Typha, everyone was shocked and stared at the wall beside Typha, they couldn¡¯t see anything.


    ¡°Are you sure there¡¯s a door there Sakura?¡± Lakian asked to make sure, in which Sakura responded with ¡°I¡¯m sure Lakian, why would I lie?¡±


    ¡°Okay, Aja cast a dispel on that wall¡± Lakian ordered, afterwards Aja didn¡¯t ask any questions and started murmuring some words, after a while the rock wall seemed to melt and showed a wooden door, everyone stared at the wooden door shocked.


    ¡°There really is a wooden door¡± Maron said.


    ¡°What now?¡± Wuglat asked, they were all thinking the same thing, but no one was brave enough to open it, all of them stopped on their tracks and are now surrounding the door, the party decided to open it, so everyone was in position, ready for any monsters that might come out.


    ¡°I¡¯ll open it now¡± Typha said gesturing to open the door, everyone nodded in response, afterwards Typha slowly opened the door, with a creaking sound the door was being opened, everyone was tensed and alert, Maron even gulped hard with his MP5 aimed right at the door, until it was already halfway opened, still there were no monsters rushing to them, when it opened they were met with an empty dark room.


    ¡°Well, that was anticlimactic¡± Maron jested, afterwards everyone came inside the room one by one, the party is now inside a room, this room was damp, dirty, the light of their torches could only illuminate a certain radius so they needed to get close to the walls, as they walk inside hands on the walls, bumps could be seen, like half pillars bulging out of the wall, as they walk they found out that there are a total of ten bumps, each one of them deliberate about what kind of room this is, when suddenly Lakian started walking to the middle of the room, afterwards every pillar lighted up, and then Lakian shouted ¡°Get ou-¡±, everyone in the room suddenly disappeared, the door closed, afterwards the rock walls slowly covered it, and only silence could be heard.

 Chapter 13

    Maron woke up with a sore head, he stood up and looked around, he saw everyone else on the ground, and woke them up, ¡°Hey, wake up¡± he said pushing Wuglat, afterwards Wuglat opened his eyes with a groan, Wuglat looked around and said ¡°Where are we?¡±, in which Maron replied ¡°I don¡¯t know, wake them up first¡±, after that Maron and Wuglat woke up the other members, everyone¡¯s condition was the same, the moment they wake up they ask ¡°Where are we¡±.


    Maron after waking the party started to observe around, they are standing at a teleportation chamber, in the middle of what seems like a plaza, they were wondering why it was bright here, it looks as if they are outside, they were surrounded by buildings like in the city, except there are no people around, but there were statues everywhere, realistic, white, marble statues, like in ancient Rome or something.


    Typha walked around and started inspecting the teleportation chamber, there was only nine pillars around it, one appeared to have collapsed, because the rubble could be seen, Typha tried to start the teleportation chamber, but it was futile, if they wanted it to work again, they needed to fix the pillar, but that would take a couple of hours at most, so the party decided to stroll around the place while Typha fix the chamber.


    The party split themselves to two for faster results, afterwards they started to roam around the place, the first group include Lakian, Maron, and Wuglat, while the other group consist of Aja and Sakura. Maron was inspecting a statue of a man with his mouth open. ¡°What is this place?¡± He asked while knocking on the forehead of the statue, Maron felt troubled.


    ¡°This place looks like a town, except it¡¯s filled with statues¡± Maron said, as he walked inside a building that looked like a shop, as they came inside, the three was shocked at what they saw. This place was a weapons shop, different types of weapons hanged on the wall, web and dirt covered weapons could be seen.


    ¡°Jackpot¡± Maron said, as he grabs a big ass battle axe, it was so heavy for him, it dropped on the ground when he tried to carry it, afterwards he turned his attention to a black bladed dagger, he picked it up and waved it around, ¡°Can I have this?¡± he asked Lakian, who was putting a gold sword to his magic pouch.


    ¡°Yeah, sure, there¡¯s a lot of weapons here, I don¡¯t think Aja would be mad if you pocket a small dagger, but still don¡¯t tell her¡± Lakian said as he now carries the battle axe Maron couldn¡¯t pick up, while this was happening Wuglat was hanging every ax he can on his body.

    The first group finished storing weapons, afterwards they went inside the building beside it, what they saw almost gave them a heart attack, this place was a magic shop, Maron said ¡°I¡¯m going to fucking cry¡±. He went to a table and picked up a book, he blew the dust off of it, and the name started to emerge, ¡®Hand of God¡¯, ¡°The fuck is hand of god?¡± Maron said and threw it to Wuglat ¡°Here you can learn that¡±, afterwards Maron picked up another book and blew the dust off it, ¡®Overpower¡¯ ¡°I don¡¯t think I need this¡± Maron said, he threw the book to Lakian because he looked like he¡¯s the one who need that, after that Maron started to inspect every book, he holds on to magic books he like and throws it to Wuglat or Lakian if he doesn¡¯t.


    ¡®Poison shot¡¯, ¡°I¡¯m going to keep you¡± Maron said.


    ¡®Hoof stomp¡¯, ¡°What!? This is clearly for Lakian¡± he said and threw it to Lakian.

    While he was picking up magic books, the other two was picking up different staff and wands, afterwards Wuglat opened a drawer, what he saw made his mout smile wide, it was mana stones and identification stones, he picked up two of each and called Lakian. ¡°Sir Lakian, there are identification and mana stones here¡± he said, which Lakian walked over and put everything in his magic pouch.


    ¡°My pouch is full, we can go back now¡± Lakian said, everyone agreed with pleasure and exited the building, they were full on smile while walking back to the teleportation chamber, as they were walking back, they found the other two exiting a building cheerfully.


    ¡°Hey, we found wine¡± said Aja happily.


    ¡°We found weapons and magic books¡± Lakian said, as they were walking back to the teleportation chamber, the party saw a person facing backward of them, it was clearly a girl with her head covered in a cloth, her figure was voluptuous, her chest was perfect, not too big, not too small, enough to make any man go crazy, waist was so thin, dress was white, skin tight, showing the curve of her body, but this didn¡¯t affect the party, they all had their weapon prepared, and alert.


    ¡°Who are you?¡± Aja shouted, as soon as she said that, Maron raised his voice and said ¡°Close your eyes¡±, the girl turned around, her hairs cover fell off, and a cluster of snakes hissed, afterwards the party saw her blue eyes and turned to stone, except Maron, Sakura and Wuglat, Wuglat didn¡¯t close his eye on time, but Maron jumped on him and covered it, while Aja and Lakian stared directly unto Medusa¡¯s eyes and turned to stone.

 Chapter 14

    ¡°Close your eyes Wuglat, don¡¯t try to look at her¡± Maron said.


    ¡°Yeah¡± Wuglat said nervously, the two of them stayed still, and never dared to move, while Sakura looked at the statue of Lakian and Aja, she trembled with fear, she stared at the statue of Lakian and Aja, afterwards she was filled with intent to kill, she quickly took her wand and cast a fireball.


    ¡°What did you do to them!?¡± Sakura shouted angrily to the woman. Medusa waved off her hand and blocked the fireball, Sakura casted all her spell consecutively, while Medusa blocked all of it, Sakura¡¯s mana was substantial, however with the way she casts her spells, it was getting expended swiftly, but with her emotions to avenge her party, she didn¡¯t care anymore, tears were falling on her eyes, she was snuffling while casting, she thought she was strong, but this woman was blocking all her spells with ease, she felt helpless, after exhausting all her mana, she lost her balance and fell over.


    Maron heard every shout of Sakura, but he didn¡¯t know what to do, he was frozen in place, with his eyes closed, he wanted to help Sakura, but he was scared, after a little while he heard Sakura fall over, he went to the sound of her, and tried to help her up, but she wasn¡¯t moving.


    ¡°Hey, Sakura, wake up! Wake up!¡± Maron shouted, but it was in vain, she lost her consciousness.


    ¡°SHIT! SHIT! FUCK!¡± Maron cursed all over, he didn¡¯t know what to do, so he carried Sakura and ran away from Medusa, ¡°Wuglat! You okay, follow my voice and come to me¡± he shouted to Wuglat.

    Maron saw Medusa laying on the ground, Sakura still unconscious, and Wuglat on the ground covering his ears and his eyes still shut, he went to Wuglat and tried to help him up ¡°Wuglat, it¡¯s okay now¡± he said, afterwards Wuglat stood up and looked around, ¡°Thank you for saving me¡± Maron said and hugged him, ¡°Yeah, no problem¡± Wuglat replied and hugged back, after that Maron went to Medusa¡¯s corpse, he pulled out his AA-12 and shot Medusa a couple more times, ¡°YOU FUCKING BITCH!!¡± Maron shouted.


    After venting his anger Maron and Wuglat went to Sakura and tried to wake her up, ¡°Hey, Sakura, wake up¡± Maron said as he pressed her, Sakura groaned a bit and woke up, afterwards she immediately asked ¡°Where¡¯s Lakian and Aja¡±, Maron and Wuglat pointed at two statues standing beside each other.


    Sakura ran up to the two statues and hugged it, ¡°No, no, no, no¡± she repeatedly said, afterwards she bawled out loud for a while, and she sat on the ground, she didn¡¯t know what to do, she felt powerless, weak, helpless. ¡°Why did this happen?¡± Sakura suddenly asked, in which Maron and Wuglat couldn¡¯t reply, they stayed there for a while, a couple of minutes has passed.


    Maron decided to stand up, and urged the group to move, she helped Sakura who has now calmed down a bit, the party started moving to the teleportation chamber, while Sakura was glancing back to the statues a lot of times, as they came back to the teleportation chamber, they saw the statue of Typha holding a pillar up looking at their direction, it looked like he finished fixing the chamber when Medusa came, after seeing Typha, Sakura couldn¡¯t help herself from crying, she was going to fall over again, thankfully Maron was beside her helping her stand.


    ¡°It¡¯s okay, it¡¯s alright¡± Maron said, as he supported Sakura up, the group now walked to the middle of the teleportation chamber, afterwards the pillars lighted up, and they were transported at the small room once again, they walked slowly to the door, the party now opened the door and started walking back outside, when they came outside it was already nighttime, they untied the horse.


    ¡°Can I be alone for a moment¡± Sakura said, as she climbed inside the wagon and didn¡¯t wait for a reply.


    ¡°Yeah, sure¡± Maron replied, he and Wuglat climbed up on the driver¡¯s seat, Wuglat whipped the horse and the carriage slowly moved to its path back to the kingdom, it was a quiet journey, everyone was tired and nobody wanted to talk, the night passed with the sound of the wheel and sounds of insects.


    The party travelled all night long, it was already dawn when they reached the kingdom, everyone was gloomy, they paid the guards for using the teleportation chamber, and didn¡¯t greet back to their good morning, the carriage and horse they used was left in a stable, before they went on the road Maron asked Sakura ¡°Sakura, do you have any place to say? You can stay at our inn, the owner is Wuglat¡¯s aunt, so you might get a discount, the food is good too¡±


    ¡°Sure¡± Sakura said and showed a dispirited smile, she walked quietly beside the two of them, afterwards they finally reached the inn, the two greeted Aunt Snak and explained the situation, Aunt Snak agreed with no objection, and hastily accompanied her to a room upstairs. The two also went upstairs, before coming inside their room, they looked at each other and said ¡°See you later¡±.


    Maron took of his golden armor and dropped it on the floor, he didn¡¯t jump straight to his bed this time, instead he went to the bathroom and took a long shower, inside the bathroom he recalled everything that¡¯s happened, he met a companion from earth, learned magic from a Naga, a centaur bought him armor, his friends turned to stone, he killed Medusa, which was unbelievable, it was a really long day for Maron, he¡¯s only been in this world for less than a week, but there¡¯s already a lot that happened, afterwards he finished taking a bath, he didn¡¯t wear any clothes, and jumped on straight on the bed, he stared at the ceiling for a while, afterwards his eyes slowly closed, as he falls to a deep sleep.

 Chapter 15

    When Maron woke up it was already afternoon, he got up from his bed, stretched his body, wore clothes and headed downstairs, he didn¡¯t check up on the other two because he didn¡¯t want to bother them, Maron asked Aunt Snak for a meal, and Aunt Snak gave him one right after, Maron ate the pork soup given to him, afterwards he went back to his room after finishing his meal, Maron sat down on his bed and took out a [low identification stone] and grasped it.

    After seeing his own stats, he smiled, he levelled up by 10, just by killing medusa alone, he was supposed to be happy, but reminiscing what happened to the Peculiars, he couldn¡¯t make himself jump around of joy, after pondering for a little while, he got up from his bed, and went to the golden armor on the floor, he grabbed a black dagger, a magic book ¡®Poison Shot¡¯ and ¡®Repel¡¯, these are the things he kept on himself and didn¡¯t give to Lakian, well the ¡®Poison shot¡¯ he purposely kept, but the ¡®Repel¡¯ he just forgot to hand it to Lakian, everything on Lakian¡¯s body turned to stone even the magic pouch, every weapon they stored there turned to stone. He didn¡¯t have anything else to do, so he opened the magic book.


    ¡°Poison shot, I think I''m going to study you¡± Maron said as he browses through the pages of the book, he was so immersed on the book, that he didn¡¯t realize that it was already night, afterwards Maron¡¯s body flashed with a hint of green, he was successful at learning poison shot.

Why not?¡¯, as he grabbed the book right after, and started browsing through its pages, he was again engrossed in reading the book, that it was almost dawn, when he finished, still he was able to learn it, a flash of white light enveloped his body, but instead of jumping around he went straight to his bed and laid down, he was exhausted and tired from reading the book, he didn¡¯t have the strength to see his stats, he quietly laid there with his eyes closed, and started to sleep.


    Maron was awakened by the sound of someone knocking on the door, he raised his voice and said ¡°Who is it?¡±, ¡°It¡¯s me, Wuglat¡± the person said, Maron got up from his bed and opened the door, still squinting he opened the door and said ¡°What¡¯s up Wuglat¡±, in which Wuglat replied with ¡°Can we talk downstairs?     ¡°We can go to the guild after, I''m sure Dianne would be surprised if she found out you¡¯ll join the guild, with your level I think she¡¯d pass out¡± Maron said after shoving a potato in his mouth, everyone was eating happily, suddenly Sakura said ¡°What about the others? You think they''re okay?¡±, talking about their companions from Earth, Sakura always wanted to meet people from Earth, that¡¯s why when she thinks there is even small chance, that someone¡¯s from earth, she would immediately ask Lakian to talk to them, that¡¯s the reason Lakian went to them.

    The three had finished their meal and said their goodbyes to Aunt Snak, afterwards the group walked to the Lowlaws guild, after a while they finally reached the guild, the Lowlaws was the same as usual, people coming and going, adventurers talking about strategies and monsters, after coming inside, the group went straight to where Dianne was.


    ¡°Hey babe¡± Maron greeted.


    ¡°You didn¡¯t drop by yesterday, where were you?¡± Dianne asked without greeting him back.


    ¡°Woah, I thought you didn¡¯t like me, looks like someone missed me¡± Maron teased.


    ¡°If you don¡¯t want to answer, then get the hell out of my face¡± Dianne replied annoyingly, as she turned and was going to talk to another adventurer.


    ¡°Wait, I was with Wuglat, uh, we studied some Magic books¡± Maron answered, thinking of any excuse he can to hide the fact that they raided a dungeon with the Peculiars, Dianne now turned back to them and asked ¡°What kind of Magic books?¡±


    ¡°Wuglat, show her¡± Maron said as he signaled Wuglat to show her the ¡®Hand of God¡¯ book, in which Wuglat unwillingly gave to Dianne, Dianne received the book and shined a white stone on it, afterwards figures started appearing in the air,


    [Hand of God- a type of greater healing magic, this skill purifies the person it is casted on, wounds will rapidly heal, 100 mana will be replenished, poison stats will be removed.


    Requirements: 100 intelligence, 100 wisdom]


    ¡°What kind of stone is that!?¡± Maron asked shockingly.


    ¡°It¡¯s an [inspection stone], why?¡± Dianne nonchalantly replied.


    ¡°What!? I didn¡¯t know there¡¯s a stone like that¡± Maron was appalled that there was that kind of stone.


    ¡°What do you want!? If you¡¯re just going to waste my time, go away, there¡¯s a lot of adventurers that I need to attend to¡± Dianne responded, she was irritated of Maron again, she didn¡¯t need to explain everything to him, this girl was moody as fuck.


    Maron decided to stop fucking around and said what they came here for.


    ¡°This girl wants to register to the guild¡± Maron said as he pointed to Sakura, in which Sakura waved to Dianne, Dianne looked at her up and down, Sakura¡¯s facial feature was different from the girls here, her eyes was a little squinted, she had an Asian face, so Dianne was eyeing her, but afterwards she pulled out a book with names on it.


    ¡°Okay, tell me your name and level, pay the fee of 5 coppers, and you¡¯re good to go¡± Dianne said, which Sakura replied with ¡°My name is Sakura, I''m level 40, and here¡¯s 1 silver¡±, Dianne started writing on the book and whispering after Sakura, ¡°Sakura, level 4-, what did you say your level was?¡± Dianne asked.


    ¡°Level 40¡± Sakura raised her voice.


    ¡°Good, I thought you said Level 4-, WHAT!?¡± Dianne shouted, she was shocked at Sakura, she took out a [low identification stone] and let Sakura grasp it, after seeing that she was really Level 40, she was wide-eyed, everyone in the guild is now looking at their direction.


    The three quickly ran and left the guild after registering, Sakura didn¡¯t even receive her change, but the three decided to leave immediately, cause every adventurer there was starting to surround Sakura, with how the gossip works in this city, everyone will now know that Sakura is Level 40.


    ¡°That was fun¡± Maron said panting hard, they ran far away from the adventurers chasing Sakura, they are now in a field outside of the city, Sakura was laughing hard, she now knows why the Peculiars don¡¯t go around telling anyone their levels.

    Everyone was shocked at his progress even himself, Maron already knew he was level 20, however what surprised him was his intelligence, he now has the qualifications to learn the fireball of Sakura, also he has new guns, he now realized that there was a pattern for this, every 5 levels he would get a stronger gun, he didn¡¯t know what an XM2010 is though, so he shouted it ¡°XM2010¡±, afterwards a big sniper fell down on his arms, it was huge, longer than his torso, he staggered a bit, before finding his balance. This gun was not supposed to be carried while shooting, it needs to be planted on the ground with its stand. This sniper was a beast, beautiful, majestic for Maron, he was awed at how amazing this sniper rifle was, he caressed it like it was his child, he couldn¡¯t wait to try it out.


    ¡°What¡¯s that ¡®Repulsion bullet¡¯¡± Sakura suddenly asked.


    ¡°It was from a ¡°Repel¡± magic book that I learned yesterday, the book said that it will put you in a barrier, and you¡¯ll be immune to Magic attacks¡± Maron explained.

    [Poison shot- a type of great attack magic, this skill puts a potent poison to whom it is casted on, the affected will experience hallucinations, would lose his/her sense of direction.


    Requirements: 15 intelligence, 14 wisdom]


    [Repel- a type of defense magic, it would create a barrier that can absorb any type of magic attacks, it can last for minutes or when it reaches the maximum magic damage, depends on the level


    Requirement: 40 intelligence, 35 wisdom]


    Wuglat¡¯s gloomy face turned to a smile when he saw that the stats'' requirement for the poison shot was 15 intelligence and 14 wisdom, he would be able to learn it, he took the magic book from Sakura and started to browse it, afterwards he went under a tree and immersed himself in the book.


    The other two started their own study session, Maron has never seen Sakura¡¯s fireball, he heard it when she cast it on Medusa, but his eyes were closed at that time, so he asked Sakura to demonstrate.


    ¡°Fireball¡± Sakura shouted and pointed her wand at a nearby boulder, afterwards a ball of fire hit the boulder, and exploded, the boulder got disintegrated, Maron was surprised at how strong the fireball is.


    Maron is now intrigued by Sakura¡¯s spells, he asked her to show him all her spells, in which Sakura complied.


    ¡°Freeze¡±, ¡°Lightning Flash¡±, ¡°Rock Wall¡±, ¡°Ignite¡±, every spell that Sakura casts would make Maron horrified all over, if he gets hit with one of her spells, he would certainly come out scathed.


    ¡°Now that you¡¯ve seen my spells, let¡¯s start¡± Sakura said as she grabbed a book from her magic pouch, afterwards gave it to Maron, Maron laid down under a shade and started reading the book, ¡°If you can¡¯t comprehend something, don¡¯t be afraid to ask me¡± Sakura said as she sat down beside Maron, and started opening a magic book, it was the ¡®Hand of God¡¯ book of Wuglat, with the help of her wand, she reached the requirement for the spell, afterwards she too was learning another spell, the trio¡¯s morning passed by just like that.

 Chapter 17

    It was already noon, newbie adventurers would pass by a group, under the shade of a tree each reading a book. The adventurers were wondering why the three were reading books outside the gate, could it be that these guys are strong enough to beat any monsters that would approach them, everyone had their assumptions about the trio, however it didn¡¯t really matter to them that much, so they would go on their way, and immediately forget that they saw a group outside the gates.


    The first to close its book was Sakura, whereupon she was enveloped with a flash of yellow light that dissipated right after. She had learned the ¡®Hand of God¡¯, thanks to her high intelligence and skills, she was the first to finish, not that there was any competition, but being first made her feel good, she was smiling widely.


    The next to close its book is Maron, he too was enveloped in a red light that dissipated quickly, afterwards he stood up and raised his hands to stretch, he was groaning like an old man, the long duration of sitting made his back all sore, however he was satisfied of the outcome, he had learned a new skill, as he looked to his side, he saw Sakura smiling like crazy while staring at him, he couldn¡¯t help but smile back awkwardly, he didn¡¯t understand the reason for her smile, so he didn¡¯t give it any mind. Instead, he took out his [middle identification stone] and grasped it.

    The trio are now preparing to leave, when suddenly a beastkin halted them, it was Bruno of the ¡®Cunningthorn¡¯, he stood in front of Sakura and asked with a polite tone ¡°Are you Sakura?¡±.


    ¡°Yes, why?¡± Sakura replied not aware of what¡¯s happening, Sakura had never met him before, so she wondered why he suddenly talked to her.


    ¡°My name is Bruno, I''m from the guild ¡®Cunningthorn¡¯¡± Bruno introduced himself and bowed slightly, he was well-mannered while talking to Sakura, ¡°I heard you joined the ¡®Lowlaws¡¯ guild, Miss Sakura, however with your level, I don¡¯t think that guild would be of much help to you, in fact I came here to invite you to ¡®Cunningthorn¡¯¡±.


    Sakura didn¡¯t know how to respond, she was suddenly offered to join another guild, she was too polite, that she couldn¡¯t straight away reject Bruno, she didn¡¯t want to hurt his feelings, even though she didn¡¯t really want to join them, so she looked over to Maron as if begging for his help, whereupon Maron quickly understood what Sakura¡¯s stare meant.


    ¡°I don¡¯t think Sakura wants to join your guild¡± Maron quickly interjected and shoved his body between the two.


    ¡°Who might you be? To make decisions for her¡± Bruno scorned, his tone to Maron was different from Sakura.


    ¡°I¡¯m her fri-¡± Maron almost said, when suddenly Sakura interrupted him and said ¡°He¡¯s my husband¡±, Maron and Wuglat was surprised at what Sakura said, Maron quickly supported what Sakura said.


    ¡°That¡¯s right, I''m her husband¡± Maron boldly said, ¡°Let¡¯s go wife¡± he followed, afterwards held Sakura¡¯s hand, and quickly left right after.


    Bruno was shocked, the sudden turn of events made him unable to respond, he couldn¡¯t believe that the two are married, however it was Sakura that said it first, so he didn¡¯t know what to do, he was left there hanging with his mouth open.


    After leaving, the three are now on the road, it was already lunchtime, so they decided to go back to the inn, and grab something to eat there, after a while they reached the Odd Chair, but before coming inside they were stopped by a girl, another adventurer from ¡®Cunningthorn¡¯, she was wearing a skin tight light- blue robe, that match her hair, there was a diamond cut in the middle of her robe that showed her abundant cleavage, and also a slit on her robes that showed her beautiful right thigh, she was sexy.


    ¡°Are you Sakura?¡± Aqua immediately asked after seeing the three of them, ¡°Hi, my name is Aqua, I¡¯m going to get straight to the point, I want you to leave Lowlaws and join our guild¡± she firmly said, it looks like Cunningthorn is really determined to invite Sakura to their guild.

    ¡°Okay¡± the three simultaneously said, ¡°We can go inside, we can use my room upstairs¡± Sakura said, suggesting her own room.


    ¡°Sure, but I can only tell it to you, Sakura¡± Aqua replied agreeing to her suggestion, but adding a condition.


    ¡°No, if you can¡¯t let them hear it, then I don¡¯t need to talk to you¡± Sakura firmly responded, she was determined to let Maron and Wuglat be in on this.


    Aqua had no choice, seeing how resolute Sakura looks, in the end she could only accept, she badly needed Sakura, ¡°Alright¡± she said, afterwards the four of them went inside the inn, and went upstairs to Sakura¡¯s room, Sakura¡¯s room looks exactly the same as Maron¡¯s, the only difference is the smell of the room, Maron¡¯s room smells like wood and sweat, while Sakura¡¯s room is fragrant and clean.


    The room was cramped with four people inside, but it didn¡¯t stop the group to continue their talk, everyone has their own place, Wuglat was standing by the door, Maron sitting on a chair beside the bed facing the two girls, and the two girls sat on the bed, afterwards Aqua start talking.


    ¡°A day ago, Bruno got hold of information about a certain competition that will be held here in Cilon Empire¡± Aqua said.


    ¡°Okay, so? There will be a competition, what¡¯s the big deal?¡± Maron interrupted.


    ¡°The big deal is the winner of the competition gets to study at Courian¡± Aqua replied and expected a shocked reaction from them, however the only person who got surprised was Wuglat, the other two didn¡¯t even flinch, which was strange for Aqua, every adventurer that she knows would give anything just to study at Courian.


    ¡°Okay, I thought that you¡¯re going to tell us was something that would endanger the whole kingdom, but you made this a big deal just for some competition¡± Maron responded with a frown, he really thought something big was going to happen, they even went somewhere private, but it was just for a competition, he felt annoyed.


    ¡°Wha-, just a competition?¡± Aqua replied shockingly, she was appalled at Maron¡¯s reaction, adventurers would do anything just to study at Courian, but Maron didn¡¯t even give a shit about Courian.¡°You! You! What are you?¡± Aqua raised her voice, she couldn¡¯t understand why the two wouldn¡¯t be willing to study at Courian.


    ¡°I¡¯m sorry miss Aqua, but if that competition was the only thing you were going to tell us, I''m going to have to decline your invitation.¡± Sakura politely said, she too didn¡¯t need to study at Courian, adventurers here would want to study there, but not her, she was fine with living normally.


    ¡°Okay, it looks like I took the wrong attitude on this¡± Aqua said now realizing that the people she¡¯s talking with, don¡¯t care about studying at Courian, ¡°As a fellow adventurer, I would like to invite you Sakura to our team, not our guild, just our team that will join the competition, please¡± Aqua sincerely said.


    ¡°Okay, since you asked sincerely if you include Maron and Wuglat to the team, I''ll certainly join¡± Sakura politely agreed, however she had a condition.


    ¡°I would¡¯ve accepted your conditions if it weren¡¯t for the requirements to join the tournament, one need to be at least Level 20 to join¡± Aqua said feeling bad for the two, she didn¡¯t know that Maron was already Level 20.


    ¡°Well, Maron is Level 20, so he is qualified to join the tournament, however Wuglat...¡± Sakura said feeling bad for Wuglat, however she couldn¡¯t do anything.


    ¡°It¡¯s okay Sakura¡± Wuglat said, he didn¡¯t want the two to feel bad for him ¡°I will just cheer you on, besides even if I joined, I would surely be defeated¡± Wuglat knew that he was weak, but this didn¡¯t break him, instead he promised his self that he would work harder to get on their level.


    ¡°Are you really Level 20?¡± Aqua said, she couldn¡¯t believe that this man in front of her was really Level 20, ¡°What is your class?¡± she asked intrigued about Maron.


    ¡°I¡¯m a gunner¡± Maron replied, not hiding it anymore, he realized that there was really no point in hiding it anymore, if he joined this competition, he would for sure use his gun.


    ¡°Gunner? What¡¯s that?¡± Aqua asked curiously.


    ¡°You could say that it¡¯s a modified version of the archer class¡± Maron explained, he didn¡¯t really know how to put it either, so he just said what he thinks it is.


    Aqua still didn¡¯t get it, but she didn¡¯t pry into it any longer, because she already asked them for a favor, so asking more would make her feel like a busybody, and she didn¡¯t want that, so she dropped it.


    ¡°So, when will this competition be held?¡± Maron asked.


    ¡°I don¡¯t know either, we were already so lucky just for learning about it, so the date, I will just tell you if I find out.¡± Sakura responded.


    The meeting in Sakura¡¯s room came to an end, Aqua said her goodbyes to the three, and the group also said their goodbyes, afterwards the group went downstairs to grab some lunch, the three sat together and ordered food from Aunt Snak, and they enjoyed their lunch right after.

 Chapter 18

    After eating lunch, the group decided to take a rest, they all went to their own rooms, except Maron. He instead went outside, he didn¡¯t have the chance to test his new skills earlier, so he decided to go hunting alone. Maron went outside the kingdom to find monsters that he could test his skills to.


    ¡°Now, where should I go?¡± Maron wondered, he was now outside the kingdom, however he didn¡¯t know where to find monsters, so he just went deeper in to the forest, hoping to encounter some monsters, after a little while he found some blood marks on his path, the shape of the blood indicated that it was probably a small animal, the blood was also still fresh, so whoever did it must still be nearby.


    Maron was on his guard right after, he surveyed the surroundings for some monsters and found a troll, the troll was eating a rabbit, the blood marks from earlier must have come from it, when suddenly the troll looked at his direction, thankfully his reflexes was fast enough, before he could be seen by it, he had already hid himself behind a tree.


    Maron stood still behind the tree, his instincts moved him involuntarily, he was scared for a moment, but after pondering a little, he realized that there was no reason to hide. He was there to test his new skills, so why was he hiding, he took out his desert eagle and confidently revealed himself to the troll.


    The troll¡¯s eyes were bloodshot, its mouth was covered in blood, its teeth were sharp, it tears the rabbit skin with ease, it was huge too, about 8 feet (2.44 m) tall.


    Maron now understood why he hid earlier, because it was terrifying, however he was now prepared, he suppressed his fear.


    ¡°Hi, I''m going to test my skills on you


    ¡± Maron said, explaining himself to the troll, he knew that it wouldn¡¯t understand, but still Maron felt bad shooting someone out of the blue, afterwards he aimed his Desert Eagle, and cast exploding bullet.


    The troll was hit right in the face, however the Desert Eagle¡¯s bullet couldn¡¯t penetrate the trolls skin, it just staggered back, the troll¡¯s regeneration ability also helped reduce the damage from the pistol, the skill wasn¡¯t enough to kill it, but it was alright, in fact it was better, it means Maron could test all of his skills at it. Its face now showed an enraged expression rushed to Maron, it was fast, Maron didn¡¯t expect it to be that fast, it almost caught him, but thankfully he jumped backwards and dodged the claws of the troll.


    Maron ran away from the rushing troll, casting ¡®exploding bullet¡¯ and aiming at the troll¡¯s face, it slowed it down a bit, however that moment of delay was enough for him to widen the distance. Maron now out of range from the troll, started casting ¡®Poison bullet¡¯, the bullet didn¡¯t penetrate the skin, but the skin that was hit by it did not show signs of healing, the troll was slowly gaining on him, so he used the same tactic as before and widen their distance once again, after the ¡®Poison bullets¡¯ Maron now tested the ¡®Sleep bullets¡¯, but with the enraged status of the troll, it was ineffective.


    Maron was now satisfied with his skill testing session, he decided to finish it, he took out his M4A1, aimed it on the troll and pulled the trigger, the troll¡¯s thick skin didn¡¯t have a chance at the rifle, the bullets penetrated straight through its body, the troll was filled with holes in seconds, and fell down right after.


    ¡®Ding¡¯ Level up.


    ¡®Ding¡¯ Level up.


    Maron was shocked at the sudden announcement in his head, he didn¡¯t expect that he would level up by killing a troll, but he didn¡¯t give much thought about it, afterwards he approached the body of the troll and cut its ears, hoping that he could exchange it for coins just like the goblins. Maron with the successful testing of his new skills decided to go back to the kingdom, to the Lowlaws, to be precise, he was going to check up on Dianne, since he didn¡¯t have that much to do anyway.


    Maron walked for a while and finally reached the Lowlaws, the atmosphere there changed, there seem to be more adventurers coming and going, the guild was packed, but still Maron didn¡¯t care that much at all, instead, he walked straight to Dianne¡¯s desk as usual.

    ¡°Uh, I came to exchange this troll ears¡± Maron replied as he grabbed a pouch and dropped it on Dianne¡¯s desk.


    ¡°What!?¡± Dianne was shocked after inspecting the content of the pouch. ¡°H-How did you get this?¡± she asked.


    ¡°By killing a troll, how else do you think you could get a troll¡¯s ears?¡± Maron said a little annoyed, he was tired of her obvious question.

    A few minutes later, Maron reached an age-old house, he glanced at the map thinking that he made a wrong turn somewhere, he retraced his steps couple times, but ended up in the same house.


    ¡®Did Dianne write wrong?¡¯ he thought, when suddenly a man with glasses came running out of the house.


    ¡°Get down!¡± the man shouted, afterwards a loud ¡®boom¡¯ could be heard inside the house, and black smoke came out the doors and windows of the house.


    ¡°Whoo, that was close¡± said the man in glasses while wiping sweat on his forehead, as if the explosion was just a trifling matter.


    Maron looked at the guy unintentionally and didn¡¯t realize that he was already staring.


    ¡°Uhm. Can I help you?¡± glasses guy asked curiously.


    ¡°Yeah, do you perhaps know a place called ¡®Potion Chicken¡¯?¡± Maron asked, since there was no reason in declining his help.


    ¡°That¡¯s the ¡®Potion Chicken¡¯¡± glasses guy replied and pointed at the old house, ¡°and I''m the owner¡±

 Chapter 19

    Maron was surprised a bit, well he didn¡¯t really care much, he was just going to sell his troll¡¯s ears to him anyway.

Everything was ready, he looked through the scope and aimed the gun to a troll¡¯s head, he exhaled deep and afterwards pulled the trigger while using Poison bullet, the troll dropped lifeless, the other trolls were alarmed by the sudden fall of their comrade, one by one they were dropping like flies, but they didn¡¯t know what was happening, the trolls died with no clue how they died or who killed them.     Maron got back to the kingdom right after, he went straight to the ¡®Potion Chicken¡¯ and knocked on its door, which Julius opened.

    ¡°Here, in fact it¡¯s not just one troll, it¡¯s eight trolls¡± Maron said confidently, ¡°Since I¡¯m the one that gathered those, I want to have some potion you¡¯re making¡±. Maron demanded, actually that was the reason he hunted trolls, to get the ¡®Troll¡¯s skin¡¯ skill that Julius will make, he is always interested in gaining new skills, no matter whatever it is.

    ¡°I¡¯m coming, I''m coming¡± Maron grumbled, as he walked to the door. He was woken up by the loud knocking, he opened the door to see Julius face. ¡°Julius, what are you doing here?¡±


    ¡°I¡¯m here to deliver this to you¡± Julius said and then handed him a pouch. ¡°Also, since I''m here I would like to ask you for a favor¡±


    Maron grabbed the pouch and was thinking twice to slam the door on Julius face, but decided to hear him out. ¡°What kind of favor?¡±


    ¡°I know we¡¯ve only met recently, and I might¡¯ve made a wrong first impression for you, and I want to say sorry for that, but trust me I am a sociable guy, it¡¯s just that you didn¡¯t really look that strong at first glance, and I didn¡¯t mean to hurt your feelings or whatever.¡± Julius explained. ¡°But will you hunt something for me?¡± Julius asked looking serious.


    ¡°Don¡¯t worry about it¡± Maron said. ¡°Also hunt? What do you want me to hunt?¡± Maron asked curiously, not that he was going to agree, but he just wanted to know.


    ¡°An eagle¡± Julius replied. ¡°I have a recipe for a potion in a while, however I can¡¯t gather the ingredients for it, so I came here to ask you for help¡±

    The two entered Maron¡¯s room, it was awkward for them at first, because there was no place to sit, so they were both standing facing each other.


    ¡°What about this eagle?¡± Maron started. ¡°It seems to me that it¡¯ll be one hell of a monster¡±

    Sakura and Wuglat was already sitting at a table while chatting with each other, they were both clearly waiting for him because of the lack of dishes on their table. Wuglat saw Maron trudging down the stairs, so he signaled him to come over, and then Maron smilingly walked over them.


    ¡°Morning¡± Maron greeted, whereupon they also greeted him morning, ¡°What are you guys doing today?¡±


    ¡°Nothing much, what about you?¡± Wuglat replied.

The lizards are Level 5 monsters that stays en masse, they hunt as a group to overpower their prey, they surround it and then bite simultaneously until their victims bled out, they have poison in their saliva that can disable the clotting of the wounds, and they are also able to spit it out, about two meters far.


    These lizards are the perfect monsters to test their troll¡¯s regeneration ability, Wuglat was the first to come out, however before he faced the lizards Maron shot him with his ¡®Repulsion bullet¡¯, which is why he now has a glowing light blue barrier around him, with ¡®Repulsion bullet¡¯ and ¡®Troll¡¯s skin¡¯ the lizards didn¡¯t stand a chance.     ¡°What middle tier monsters?¡± Maron asked. ¡°Are you sure we¡¯re not biting more than we can chew here?¡±


    ¡°I don¡¯t know, I''ve never gone this far before¡± Wuglat said. ¡°But I can assure you the farther it is to the kingdom the stronger the monsters are, don¡¯t worry they¡¯re not going to be as ferocious as ¡®King Birds¡¯ only level 25 at max, besides Sakura is with us, she¡¯s stronger than anyone I know inside the kingdom.¡±


    ¡°Okay¡± Maron said, he too wasn¡¯t really that fearful, because he had a Gatling gun, even if 100 trolls rushed to them simultaneously, he would still be able to wipe them all out.


    The deeper the party went, the signs of human activity started to disappear, before there would be trails of path on the ground, now there is only abundant grasses and bushes all over. Sakura didn¡¯t let this moment waste, she quickly casted fireball behind her while still in the air, the treant that was holding her exploded and debris of wood splattered everywhere, splinter had pierced their skin, but thanks to the ¡®troll¡¯s skin¡¯ they were regenerating quickly, however it still hurt like hell so everyone was shouting like a madman, the feeling of being pierced by splinters and burned by fire was too much for them to handle, thankfully they had troll¡¯s skin if not for it they would¡¯ve already died ten times over on this battle.


    Sakura now got free of the treant, her invisible state made her invincible in this battle, treants were exploding every time she cast a skill. The treants couldn¡¯t understand what was happening to them, the abundant trees were now set in flames, the treants started to retreat, but it was too late the invisible Sakura with her inexhaustible mana pool became their worst nightmare.


    Over the next few minutes the plentiful trees were burned to the ground, the only thing you could see is burnt woods and smoke all over, a sudden gust of wind blew the smoke away and a beautiful girl stepped into view, with her torn clothes that exhibit her clear white skin, she looked like she came out of a movie, she was stunning. Sakura saw Maron stare intently at her, she was confused for a second but after looking at herself, she found out the reason and raised her voice at Maron ¡°You pervert¡± whereupon Maron could only chuckle, afterwards she immediately grabbed new clothes on her magic pouch and quickly changed.


    ¡°That tested our new skill¡± Maron joked. ¡°I think now we know how invaluable this skill is, that disgusting taste was really worth it¡±

    ¡°Let¡¯s go home¡± Maron said ¡°I¡¯m starving, I wonder what time it is now?¡±


    ¡°It¡¯s probably about noon¡± Wuglat answered. ¡°We¡¯ve been here for a couple hours, I think¡±


    The party started walking back to the kingdom, their injuries rapidly healed, and after a couple of minutes their bruises and wounds are no more. Only torn clothes here and there, but everything else was fine. When they came back to the inn, Maron quickly took a table and ordered some food, while Wuglat went straight to his own room, he must¡¯ve been very exhausted. Maron and Sakura quickly ate their lunch and went to their own rooms right after.


    Maron closed his door and went straight to the bathroom, after everything that happened, he needed a long cold bath to recharge, afterwards he jumped on his bed naked to take a short nap, he still needed to come by ¡®Potion Chicken¡¯ to tell Julius his decision later, so what he needed was a rest.

 Chapter 21

    Maron eyes abruptly shot open for no reason, his body quickly sat straight, remembering he needed to do, still drowsy and wiping his eye dirt, he got up and went to the bathroom to wash his face. Afterwards he changed to a new pair of clothes and slowly trudged outside to ¡¯Potion Chicken¡¯.


    Maron walked on the street of Cilon empire, the location of ¡®Potion Chicken¡¯ is an area that Maron rarely visits, actually most of the ¡®Cilon Empire¡¯ he has never really been to, he has only been back and forth to Lowlaws and the inn, so instead of going directly to ¡®Potion Chicken¡¯, Maron decided to take a detour and look at the neighborhood.


    He arrived at a street full of people on robes, the robes were of different colors but all had the same logo, a picture of an open book at the left chest, Maron pondered for a while and realized that it was probably the uniform of the academy, so these people here must be their students, the school must be near here.


    Maron found a big structure that the students would flock to, he decided to take a look inside, the moment he stepped inside everyone started eying him, however he didn¡¯t care about the stares and instead started to look around the shop. This place was a Magic Shop, there are staffs hanged on the wall, and wands on display, a worker explaining to a student the wand he was holding, when suddenly a guy talked to him.


    ¡°Can I help you?¡± The guy rudely asked. He was dressed like the guy that was explaining something to the other student, so Maron deduced that he was a worker here.


    ¡°Yeah, what kind of things do you sell here?¡± Maron asked.


    The worker observed him from head to toe, before saying ¡°A lot¡±


    ¡°Wow, that¡¯s really helpful¡± Maron said and quickly grabbed his pouch and jingled it in front of the worker. Afterwards the expression of the worker slowly changed to a polite one. ¡°What were you selling here?¡± Maron asked again.


    ¡°Magic stuff sir, we have wands, staff, potions, magic books, anything that¡¯s related to magic we have it here sir¡± the worker said.

    Maron pondered for a moment grabbed some coins in the pouch and thrown the pouch to him, the content of that pouch was now 50 gold coins, the payment he got from delivering Julius the troll¡¯s ears. Afterwards the worker quickly ran to get some Magic pouch and then gave it to Maron, he quickly left right after without saying anything.


    Maron continued his sightseeing and arrived at a plaza, the place was bustling with different people, guys just lying around on the grass, a family having a picnic, a couple kissing each other. Maron found a stand that sells different kinds of bread, he grabbed some coins out of his pockets and ordered some bread. After an hour passed, Maron now has reached the ¡®Potion Chicken¡¯ with a bag of snack in tow. He knocked on the door while chewing on a hotdog.


    ¡°Hey Julius, it¡¯s me¡± Maron shouted. After a while Julius opened the door with his white coat full of stains, it seemed like he had just been doing something.


    ¡°You¡¯re here¡± Julius said. ¡°I thought you were going to decline and not meet me ever again¡±


    ¡°What?¡± Maron was baffled. ¡°I¡¯m not that kind of guy, besides were friends now aren¡¯t we¡±


    ¡°Yeah¡± Julius said. ¡°Come inside¡±


    Maron went inside, the interior looked normal, there are shelves with different kinds of potion on it, if it weren¡¯t for the outside looking like an abandoned house. Maron took his time observing the room, he raised a blue bottle and shook it, which Julius reproached him from doing again, he added that the bottles should not be opened because the potency of it would decrease. On a different section of the room there are exotic things on the shelves, there are eyeballs on a jar.


    ¡°What are these¡± Maron asked as he raised a jar.


    ¡°That¡¯s a concoction of different acids, it can dissolve rocks in a matter of seconds¡± Julius said. ¡°I need you to be cautious with that¡±


    Maron immediately put it back, and wiped his hands on his shirt, it was a good thing that he didn¡¯t try to play with it. Maron circled the whole shop before Julius called him out to another room, after entering the new room, Maron couldn¡¯t help but be amazed, because there was large pot in the middle being boiled by firewood, that is the biggest pot Maron has ever seen, it looks like the thing that witches use, there are flasks of different kinds on a long table at the side of the room, this room is where he creates the potion that¡¯s exhibited earlier.


    ¡°What are you doing?¡± Maron asked after seeing the boiling pot.


    ¡°I¡¯m concocting a healing potion¡± Julius answered. ¡°It can recover your vitality up to 50 percent, makes you able to fight longer and makes you regain your stamina¡±


    ¡°Wow, that¡¯s amazing what¡¯s it made of?¡± Maron pondered. ¡°I might buy some of it for future use you know¡±


    ¡°Yeah, it¡¯s made out of troll¡¯s blood¡± Julius said. ¡°A group of adventurers yesterday found a dead troll outside yesterday. The adventurers even said that it was punctured with holes, and they could only collect a small bottle of its blood, also the only thing missing was their ear, the adventurer who killed it must¡¯ve had a specific purpose for its ears, he didn¡¯t even touch anything on the troll¡±

    ¡°You know, enough to buy me a gold armor¡± Maron lied and quickly changed the subject. ¡°Let¡¯s talk about that eagle, where do I go to find it?¡±


    ¡°Are you saying you¡¯re going to hunt it?¡± Julius said gleefully. ¡°I thought you were here to reject my favor¡±

    Maron received the paper and told Julius to not be worried, he had already planned a strategy earlier this morning for the ¡®Kingbird¡¯, he was confident that he could take it down, with the help of his Gatling gun, Maron doesn¡¯t think that ¡®Kingbird¡¯ would be able to handle it.


    Maron did not directly go to hunt the ¡®Kingbird¡¯, He first stopped at the inn to get his armor first. He was ultra-careful about this hunt, because this is the strongest monster he would encounter so far. After getting his golden armor, he studied the map and went on his way.


    On the road to the jungle all the people he passed by would stare at him for a couple of seconds before minding their business, it was because of his shiny golden armor, it was a good thing that he had his visor down, this way no one would be able to recognize him.


    After an hour Maron scanned the map and realized that he had reached the place indicated in it, the place was wide, open land. Maron realized why it would frequent here, this place was the best hunting grounds for it, no trees to block its vision just open vast land, the eagle would be able to swoop down on anything that runs on this place.


    Maron pumped himself up and repeated that he could do it a couple of times before quickly walking to the middle of the field, with what he¡¯s wearing there was no way that a ¡®Kingbird¡¯ wouldn¡¯t be able to see him. After a few minutes a bird could be seen flying at the sky circling all over him, Maron believed that it was the ¡®Kingbird¡¯, when suddenly it was getting bigger and bigger, thankfully Maron quickly realized that it was swooping down on him fast, but before it could get too close Maron had already summoned a big Gatling gun out of nowhere.


    The Kingbird¡¯s pupil dilated with the sudden appearance of a mysterious object however it didn¡¯t have any intention of stopping its dive, instead it squealed and tucked in its wings for faster diving speed. The distance of the two was quickly decreased, however Maron¡¯s Gatling gun had already been aimed to it, when it came into range, he immediately pulled the trigger hard and bombarded it with a combination of his spell ¡®Exploding bullet¡¯ and ¡®Poison shot¡¯.


    ¡°Oh shit!¡± Maron shouted as he jumped to the side. The kingbird crashed straight unto where he was before, its crash unto the ground created a cloud of sand, Maron quickly unsummoned his Gatling gun, and changed it with his M4A1. He aimed the gun to the direction of the dust cloud, and slowly walked to it, after the dust settled a big bird displayed itself in front of Maron.


    The bird was still alive but it didn¡¯t have the strength to move itself anymore, it was just laid there with its eyes still half open. The Kingbird¡¯s features could be seen clearly by Maron, it was huge almost thrice his size, its beak was beautifully curved at the end, its claws are as sharp as a knife, its feather was just the right balance of brown and white. Maron was awed at its majestic appearance, even though this thing planned to kill him earlier, after a bit of pondering he slowly aimed his M4A1 at its head and pulled the trigger, that made the Kingbird¡¯s body convulse.

    Maron heard announcements in his head, it provided proof that the Kingbird was dead, he crouched beside its head to grab its eyeball, however he remembered the troll¡¯s that he killed and decided to carry the whole thing back to the Kingdom. He grabbed the bird by the feet and slowly dragged it back to the kingdom, he would encounter some monsters here and there however he quickly killed it with his M4A1, after a couple of hours Maron finally reached the gate.


    The guards on duty that time was surprised by him, but they couldn¡¯t distinguish who he was because his visor was down, he slowly walked to the ¡®Potion Chicken¡¯ with the ¡®Kingbird¡¯ in tow, he was groaning at every time he took a step, the bird was really heavy thankfully he was able to drag it at least. Every bystander he passes by would stare at him only this time they didn¡¯t quickly go mind their business after, instead they stopped what they were doing and tried to discern who he was.


    If this bird didn¡¯t have any use aside from its eyeballs, Maron swore to kill himself. After the laborious task he finally reached the Potion Chicken, he heaved a euphoric sigh of relief after reaching the front door. He knocked on the door with a closed sign attached to it and waited for a little while before Julius opened it. Julius¡¯ appearance clearly showed that he just took a nap, his hair was a mess, and he was wiping his eyes.


    ¡°What do you want?¡± Julius asked irritatingly. ¡°Can¡¯t you read the sign? I''m closed for the day¡±


    Maron was flabbergasted. He raised his right arm and wanted to punch Julius at his face, but he stopped himself and said ¡°It¡¯s me, dipshit!¡±


    ¡°Maron?¡± Julius said. ¡°I¡¯m sorry, I didn¡¯t recognize you with your visor down¡± he felt horrible and apologized a couple more times


    ¡°I see that you were so worried about me¡± Maron mocked. ¡°Maybe my first impression of you was right¡±. Maron isn¡¯t going to forget about this for a little while.


    Maron quickly dragged the Kingbird in front of the house, whereupon Julius was only able to see now, Maron said firmly ¡°Here¡¯s your Kingbird. Deliver the potion to the inn when you¡¯re finished.¡± and quickly left right after, not caring about his reaction or how he was going to get it inside his shop.


    When Maron got cak to the inn it was already night, he was greeted by Sakura who was waiting on a table, afterwards she suddenly pounced on him and hugged him tight.


    "Where have you been?" Sakura asked worriedly. "You shoud''ve took me with you, if you were going to hunt that ''Kingbird''."


    "Wha-" Maron couldn''t respond. Instead, he just hugged her back. "I''m sorry" was the only thing he could say afterwards.


    "Have you eaten?" Sakura asked while still hugging him.


    "No, not yet" Maron answered.


    "Let''s eat then." Sakura said and stepped out from the hug. "Grab a seat, I''ll ask Aunt Snak to make something for us"


    Maron quickly grabbed a seat, and waited for his dinner happily, his irritation from earlier has vanished completely, it was replaced with happiness and delight. Afterwards the two slowly enjoyed their meal and Maron told her about what he did earlier and she told Maron how her day went.

 Chapter 22

    Maron woke up staring at the ceiling of his room, it was already morning, but he didn¡¯t have the strength to stand up, he just lied down on his bed without caring about mundane matters, he suddenly remembered when his mother would wake him up and force him to go to school, he would tell her five more minutes but that always never works, but he still kept saying it though. Maron chuckled at the nostalgic memories.


    After a few minutes Maron finally decided to get up, same as his usual routine before going downstairs. He washed his face and gargled some water to remove his morning breath. Afterwards Maron went on his way downstairs.


    There he could see the two happily chatting on a table, the two were so immersed in their conversation that they didn¡¯t even notice that Maron was there until he was already seated.


    ¡°Morning¡± Maron greeted. ¡°What are you two talking about?¡±


    ¡°Morning¡± Sakura said. ¡°Just some gossip on the streets, looks like a knight in golden shining armor is roaming around the street yesterday, he was even carrying a Kingbird, he is the hottest gossip in the kingdom right now, everyone in the streets is trying to guess who it is. It looks like someone¡¯s turning to a superstar.¡± Sakura teased, knowing full well that the guy was Maron.


    Maron didn¡¯t respond to Sakura¡¯s teasing, instead he made a funny face at her, afterwards the three ordered some coffee and bread to start their morning. When suddenly a woman came up to their table and sat beside them, it was Aqua. She greeted the good morning and grabbed a piece of bread from the plate of Sakura, which didn¡¯t seem to mind about it.


    ¡°Why are you here?¡± Maron began.


    ¡°I¡¯m here to tell you guys about the tournament, it will be held this week on the Empire¡¯s coliseum, also it seems like it¡¯s because there are people from Courian that¡¯s coming. That¡¯s why it became a very big deal, it was excessive of them to announce it on short notice and expect us to be able to make preparation in such a short amount of time, all the adventurers are registering to join the tournament.¡± Aqua explained.


    ¡°I¡¯m here to tell you guys about the tournament, they said that the tournament will be held this week, it seems like there are people from Courian that will supervise it.¡± Aqua said. ¡°That is why it suddenly became a big event, now everyone in the streets wants to start a festival on the days that the tournament will be held¡±

First, he used his Desert Eagle and was shooting at 10 meters and then 20 meters, until he reached 200 meters, at 200 meters his bullets would sometimes hit outside the circle. Then next is his MP5, he did the same procedure and lasted until 250 meters, he also only used his sleep bullet all the time to level it up. The Desert Eagle and MP5 are the only guns he will use in the tournament. He was afraid that if he used his other guns it would be unfair for his opponents.


    A couple of hours has passed since Maron started training his accuracy, Maron finally could hit the bullseye even in 300 meters. Now that he finished training with his Desert Eagle and MP5 he wanted to try out how far his sniper rifle could reach, he tried moving as far as 500 meters but it was too easy, he could still hit bullseye effortlessly, he tried as far as 1000 meters still he was hitting the middle, until he got to 2000 meters, he was still able to hit inside the circle, however not in the middle anymore.


    Maron decided to end his training and come back to the inn. There he found Julius sitting on a table waiting for him, however he didn¡¯t want to talk to him right now, instead he immediately walked to the stairs, he just wants to go upstairs and take a rest, he was exhausted from training, his right arm is all sore from the recoil of the guns he had used.


    ¡°Maron¡± Julius stopped him.


    ¡°Is it done?¡± Maron asked about the potion.


    ¡°Not yet¡± Julius said. ¡°But can I talk to you for a moment?¡±


    ¡°I¡¯m tired right now Julius¡± Maron said. ¡°I just finished training. I just want to take a nap right now¡±


    ¡°I just wanted to thank you for the Kingbird yesterday¡± Julius said. ¡°I only wanted the eyeball, but you gave me the whole thing, so if you need any other potion you can ask me anything.¡±


    ¡°Yeah, sure¡± Maron said nonchalantly. ¡°I¡¯m going to sleep now¡± and then he left for his room.


    After coming inside his room, he went to the bathroom to wash away the sweat and smell, afterwards he lied down on his bed without any clothes on and immediately slept.

 Chapter 23

    Maron abruptly opened his eyes at the loud banging on his door, he forced himself up and an elf displayed herself when he opened the door, his drowsy self suddenly turned alert because of her voluptuous appearance. Maron couldn¡¯t helped but be wide-eyed and stare at her enormous racks, he knows that it was rude and he might get slapped but still it was worth it.


    The elf coughed angrily with her fist clenched, Maron closed his eyes and prepared himself for the slap, however it was already a few seconds but there was still nothing hitting his face.


    ¡°Are you Maron?¡¯ the elf asked with displeasure.


    Maron slowly opened his eyes and answered ¡°Yeah, may I help you?¡±


    ¡°My name is Caeda¡± she said. ¡°I¡¯m here for the tournament, I heard from Aqua that you and Sakura are going to team up with us, all the team will register today, so I''m here to get you to come with me.¡±


    ¡°Okay¡± Maron said.


    There really was no reason to decline, it didn¡¯t seem like she was lying too, so Maron readily followed her and they reached a street that Maron was familiar with. This was the street where he bought the Magic pouch, they walked past by that store and reached a big gate and went inside. This place is probably the academy, looking at the people passing by with the same robe on that he saw yesterday, anyone could¡¯ve guessed that this was the academy.


    Caeda was walking so fast that Maron is always two steps behind her, he tried to increase his pace to catch up beside her, but when he gets close to her, she walks even faster. The two looked like they were on a race, Maron pressed together his lips and walked even faster, until finally Caeda stopped and went inside a building. Inside the building was a crowd of adventurers, he was sure that it was adventurers because of their armors and weapons, there are some that are wearing robes too.


    Maron wandered his eyes and found familiar faces, Bruno, Aqua and


    Sakura was in a corner chatting with themselves, he quickly walked up to them, poked Sakura¡¯s shoulder, and greeted the other two.


    ¡°Hey¡± Maron said.


    Sakura was startled a bit, but when she saw who it was, she quickly turned to smile.


    ¡°You¡¯re here¡± Sakura said.


    ¡°What is this place?¡± Maron asked. ¡°Why are there so many people here?¡±


    ¡°This is the register area for the tournament¡± it was Aqua who answered.


    ¡°They suddenly said that today is the deadline for joining the tournament, so everyone rushed here to register their team¡±

    The old woman eyed all of them and told the group to touch a stone. If the stone glowed red it means that you are at least Level 20, but when it doesn¡¯t that means you¡¯re not. The group grasped the stone one by one and each time it glowed red it means that all of them were qualified to join. Afterwards the five was given identical stones, the woman explained that the stone will play a recording of the rules and everything you wanted to know before the tournament starts.


    The party left the build lacking knowledge about the tournament, all they know is that they are registered and there are going to be a lot of opponents based on how many was in that building, afterwards they decided to have a meeting on a nearby restaurant to discuss.


    The party used this time to get close to each other, the first one to start was Bruno, unlike when they first met, Bruno¡¯s attitude now is more preferable.


    ¡°My name is Bruno¡± he said as he tried to shake the hands of Maron. ¡°I just want to say sorry for my rude behavior when we first met. I didn¡¯t mean to be impolite to you¡±


    ¡°That¡¯s alright¡± Maron said and shook the hand. ¡°I was rude to you too, so let¡¯s just drop and forget about the past¡±.

    Afterwards Maron took a glance at Caeda, he felt uncomfortable but he wanted to resolve the misunderstanding earlier, well not really a misunderstanding but his offending actions earlier, he wanted to apologize to her quickly, but he didn¡¯t know how to approach her. He finally gathered his courage after a few minutes and started to talk to Caeda.


    ¡°Caeda¡± Maron began. ¡°I just want to say sorry about earlier, I didn¡¯t really mean to do it, but I just couldn¡¯t help myself, from the bottom of my heart, I ask for forgiveness.¡± Maron sincerely said.


    Caeda just stared at him for a few seconds, seeing his genuine attempt to apologize, she finally decided to forgive him, besides they were going to be in one team, so having a grudge on your teammate is not a good thing, that is one of the things she learned being an adventurer.


    ¡°Don¡¯t worry about it¡± Caeda said.


    Maron not convinced that she entirely forgave him said. ¡°I¡¯ll make it up to you, I''ll treat you to a meal some other time.¡±

    ¡°This is a gun, a pistol to be exact.¡± Maron started. ¡°You can think of it as a developed crossbow, an improved form of a crossbow, but instead of arrows, it uses what you call bullets.¡±


    Maron didn¡¯t know how to show them the bullets without shooting, because all of his guns didn¡¯t have magazines, it was the same design and mechanism as the actual gun but without the magazines, so it was useless explaining to them about the bullet, but still they understood the idea of it, even though Maron was shit at explaining it.


    ¡°And this is an MP5¡± Maron said and the Desert Eagle quickly changed to it. ¡°This is a different form of a gun, it does better than the Desert Eagle.¡±


    The three stared at the MP5 intently, the appearance of it was more alien to the eye, the three were mesmerized by the gun, Aqua even tried to fiddle with it but Maron obstructed her because playing with a gun is a dumb thing to do.


    ¡°Is it strong?¡± Caeda asked curiously. ¡°What about its penetration power? My long bow can pierce a tree with my ¡®Power shot¡¯¡± she bragged about her bow.


    ¡°I don¡¯t think this can pierce a tree¡± Maron baffled.


    ¡°How is it an improvement then?¡± Bruno pondered.


    ¡°Well maybe it¡¯s not an improvement, more like a variation then¡± Maron tried to explain.


    The three was amazed at the impression of it at first, however after hearing that it cannot pierce a tree, their interest on the gun slowly diminished to a cursory glance.


    After describing their skills to each other the group dispersed and left to do their own thing, while Maron and Sakura went back to the inn together.

 Chapter 24

    Maron went straight to his room after entering the inn, and took a nap although he wasn¡¯t exhausted only bored, back on earth he had a computer and a cellphone to play with when he had free time however here he had nothing to do aside from hunt monsters which is unsuitable now, because it¡¯s almost nighttime, he only decided to stand up after an hour because his stomach grumbled, a sign that he was hungry.


    He went downstairs, the inn was uncrowded at this hour, since it¡¯s only noon and dinner is still an hour away, there are only a few customers eating, Maron took a seat by the window, to be able to gaze outside, eating beside the window while looking outside was one of Maron¡¯s weird obsessions.


    He ordered some food from Aunt Snak, which quickly came after a few minutes, he pondered on what to do next while eating, he didn¡¯t really know what his purpose here was, so he decided that after the tournament he would party with Sakura and Wuglat to find the other people from Earth.


    Maron finished his meal and got out of the inn to breathe some fresh air, while outside Maron thought of roaming around the kingdom, and then he started to walk without any destination in mind. He passed the street where the Potion Chicken was located, come to think of it, the ¡®Eagle Eye¡¯ potion that Julius owed him was still not delivered, so he decided to check up on it.


    Maron nocked on the door of the shop for a while before finally being opened by an exhausted looking Julius.


    ¡°Hey¡± Maron greeted. ¡°I¡¯m here for the ¡®Eagle Eye¡¯ potion, is it done yet?¡±


    ¡°Yeah¡± Julius replied and gestured Maron to come inside. ¡°The potion is done cooking, but it still needed to be refined a little more, which was completed earlier, I''ve been working on this potion ever since, so I just needed a little rest and planned to deliver it to you tomorrow.¡±


    ¡°Yeah, seeing your eyebags, it looks like you¡¯ve been working hard on this potion¡± Maron said.


    The two went to the backroom where the huge pot was located, Julius picked up five potion bottles on a desk and gave it to Maron, not only that he also gave Maron a bag full of coins and other potions.


    ¡°What¡¯s this?¡± Maron asked.


    ¡°That¡¯s payment¡± Julius answered. ¡°I sold the other parts of the ¡®Kingbird¡¯ tailors, the skin of a ¡®Kingbird¡¯ can make a nice piece of leather, they even asked me who was the golden armored guy, which I didn¡¯t tell by the way¡±


    ¡°You got anything else you need?¡± Maron asked suddenly. ¡°I don¡¯t really have that much to do, so I don¡¯t mind helping you gather monster materials for half of the product you make out of it.¡±This story is posted elsewhere by the author. Help them out by reading the authentic version.

    ¡°It¡¯s a deal then.¡± Maron raised his hand for a handshake. ¡°However, there¡¯s still this tournament going on, and I joined it, so I can¡¯t be hunting any monsters for you this week.¡±


    ¡°You joined the tournament?¡± Julius asked. ¡°I heard that whoever wins gets to study in Courian.¡±


    ¡°Yeah¡± Maron said. ¡°That¡¯s what everyone says, all the adventurers seem to like to study at Courian, tell me about this Courian, what¡¯s good about it?¡± Maron asked curiously.


    ¡°Are you kidding?¡± Julius was baffled. ¡°Okay let me tell you the reason why every adventurer wants to study there, first because of the various Magic books and skills that could be found in their library, second their teachers, every teacher there are certified professionals at their craft, so if you could be taught by them your skills will rise by leaps and bounds, third is the entitlement, once you¡¯re a student of Courian you are considered a genius, and not only you even your family will rise from society, and fourth Courian is the school of the strongest mages in the continent.¡±


    ¡°Wow¡± Maron was amazed. ¡°It looks like you also want to study there, thank you for this, it''s getting late so I''ll be leaving now"


    "Okay" Julius replied. "Take care."


    Maron left the shop after, it was already dark by the time he came back to the inn, unlike earlier there are a lot of customers at this hour because it was already dinner time, he didn¡¯t mind them though, he quickly went straight for the stairs and into his room, he wanted to check everything that¡¯s in the bag that Julius gave him.


    When he opened it, gold coins, health potions, mana potion filled the bag, afterwards he dumped all the contents on the bed and counted the coins, that totaled 300, he was shocked at the amount of it, he didn¡¯t expect the Kingbird to cost that much, with this much money Maron didn¡¯t have to worry about his lodging for the next few years, he even thought of buying some skill books, like the Power shot of Caeda, he was really interested in that skill, so he planned to go shopping tomorrow for magic books.


    While fantasizing about the different magic that he wanted to learn, suddenly the sound of someone knocking on the door disrupted him, it was probably Sakura or Wuglat, only the two would concern themselves with him, Maron¡¯s presumption turned incorrect, because the person who greeted him was a stranger, a young kid with glasses on, Maron wondered about the kid, he crouched down to meet the kid eye to eye.


    ¡°Can I help you?¡± Maron asked worriedly. ¡°Are you lost?¡±


    ¡°Are you from earth?¡± the kid asked.
