《A Shadow》 The first few moments Memories By Alyssa Sieling Thanks to SIU, (The writer of The Tower of God), for giving me the inspiration to write this story Memories Chapter 1 I don¡¯t remember why, but I trusted them. All I knew in my life. When I was two years old, a woman came up to me. She had long blond hair that was up in a ponytail. She was wearing a long white dress and a necklace.I was on the streets at the time. I was a dirty, disgusting and ugly little girl. Pushed away by all that passed. I hated my life. She took me home. I was there for only a few months, but she was kind to me until I had to leave. Terrifying men took me away. I don¡¯t know how long. It was black for what felt like months, and by what they told me, I think I was. I woke up in a dark blue room with no windows. It was full of stuffed toys on the ground. I got up and the woman came in. I ran into her arms. She sat me on the bed and turned on the lamp. She checked my pulse. For a few days, they were monitoring me. On the day I was meant to go back to the woman, something extraordinary happened. I used magic. I woke up in black flames. I scared myself looking at them and they disappeared. They hadn¡¯t hurt me or hurt anything in the room. I tried to make them appear in my hand, and they came. That day it was my birthday. They found me in the room, terrified. They asked questions. They ended up convincing me to show them. I couldn¡¯t go home but the woman visited me frequently. About when I was six, they started teaching me how to use a sword. Not many people used a sword at the time since there weren¡¯t any monsters or wars. I mastered it quickly. When I was eleven though, I lost control. I wish I hadn¡¯t. That pain I felt, was nothing I had ever felt before.Stolen content alert: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences. Pain and loss I killed my trainer, and I was devastated. She meant a lot to me. The magic inside me was trying to get out. I heard a voice in my head. ¡°Calm down. I am trying to handle this.¡± She sounded annoyed. It disappeared. I was in my room when the voice started speaking to me again. ¡°My name is Emerald. I am sorry I have not spoken to you before, I just didn¡¯t want to scare you when you were young.¡± We began talking. I told her what had happened before I went with the men when I was two. ¡°Why are you in my head?¡± I asked. ¡°They put me in there. You don¡¯t know¡.. I am a spirit. There was a prophecy that they had uncovered and they wanted to make it come true with you. It was believed if you went into a mountain, and hurt a little girl, she would become possessed by a demon. That demon would protect her. Demons were a big part of the culture and supposedly protected those that were hurt by those that wished things to happen. They believed they could control you.¡± She said. I realized who she was. What she was. ¡°I can help you. Another spirit, one of light, can help you. She will be able to control the dark magic.¡± Emerald exclaimed. I agreed. After a few days, I could feel her. She spoke to me. It took awhile for me to adjust, but in the end, I did. Then we began to plan our escape. They didn¡¯t care much if I left the room but, I could only go to the arena. At the time, I was small enough to fit in the vents. When I heard someone coming, I would find the closest one, and go inside. One led outside. My escape route. I crawled through and saw wheat everywhere for miles. It was getting dark and as the sun set, It reflected beautifully off of the golden wheat. I was finally free. I didn¡¯t feel free though. I was weighed down by what I had left behind. I knew I had to let it go though. I just had to get strong enough to do it. I decided to create something to distract me from the pain of leaving everything I knew behind. I put all my energy into creating the tower. I could feel something was abnormal though. Something in the ground had an energy that was much stronger than normal. I heard a rumble, then I saw hundreds of monsters running across the field. Towards the town, meaning everyone inside was in danger. I ran after them, I wasn¡¯t fast enough. It took me half an hour to get there, yet the place was in ruins when I got there, and no sign of the monsters. There were many children that began to emerge from underground rooms and only a few adults that survived. No one was left unscathed.Love what you''re reading? We don¡¯t know what they are, but they suddenly came and left even faster. We are the only survivors.¡± I sighed. ¡°Follow me,¡± I said. I couldn¡¯t let these people die here. I had the ability to save them so I would. The tower would be their sanctuary for now. Until I had a better Idea. I led them to the tower. They were skeptical since this was past the boundary. They knew nothing about the world beyond, But there was nothing left behind them, so they had to keep moving forward. They followed me into the tower. They were astonished by my handiwork. It was a huge space with buildings and wildlife. It was a whole other world inside and that wasn¡¯t it. There was a sky. A bright blue sky just like the one outside. They would be happy and safe here. The only thing is that they have lost lives. That I cannot bring back to them. ¡°So¡. we get to live here?¡± A young boy asked.¡°Yes. May your lives be happy lively. I began to walk towards another door. I opened it with magic and said, ¡° And I hope to see you at the top.¡± I don¡¯t know what happened next, but in a few years, a boy made it to the top of the tower and knelt before me. He asked me of one thing, ¡°I wish to rule over the tower alongside you.¡± He didn¡¯t know it but, I wasn¡¯t much older than him. As someone that took charge when it was needed, I seemed much older than I really was. I agreed, knowing all that. His name was Jahad. A few years later, ten people reached the top of the tower. They had all known magic but noticed they could only use one kind. Air magic. The most passive basic magic there is. The only way this tower will not be torn apart. But there was another catch. This was weakened even more because, in the tower, you had to focus that magic into a ball we called a bang. It took a lot of energy to do even one, so not even many mages could do more. But those ten people asked for an element. I gave it to them. They and their family would have the ability to use that element but only that. They soon became known as the ten great families. As the years went by, The families began to lie to their children about the truth of the outside world. They told them that there was nothing. They told them that the tower is all that exists other than a bit of earth underneath and around. They told them that they were living in the tower and always had. I don¡¯t know exactly why, but I believe it is to hide the pain on the inside. They clearly didn¡¯t want them to know what truly happened to their families. But they could easily cover it up.If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. Chapter 4 As the years went on, The tower became treacherous. It was because of Jahad. More and more people wanted his control to spread over the whole tower. I knew that people were dying. I wasn¡¯t oblivious to it. How could I be? These are people¡¯s lives we¡¯re talking about. Years and years went by with me trying to convince him to stop this. Then I left. I thought about fighting him, but I couldn¡¯t. I had a treaty with him I couldn¡¯t do it. I would die the moment I touched him. He hasn¡¯t seen me since. I disappeared Blank. It is all blank now. I can barely piece anything together. I can barely feel anything. My memories are like dreams. I am traveling into my past and it pains me to see it again. It went black. What was I thinking? What did I do? I see stones. Stones. Why stones? I try to pull something out of my head. It is blank. A white canvas. I stand up. I can¡¯t even pull up my age. All I know is my name. Nillian. Why? I honestly have no idea. I cut my hand on something sharp. I look to see what it was and I see three gems. Blue, green, and purple. I picked them up and brought them with me. All I saw was stones. For hours I walked and I saw brown rock everywhere. I finally found a shaft of light. I took stones around me and made a pile up to it. When I squeezed through the hole, I saw a bustling city around me. The stones I of course still had in my hand. They began to glow the moment the light hit them. Not just shining, full on glowing! They began to twist and turn around me. I heard people talking. I saw a memory. A girl was running. She heard voices in her head. The same voices that I heard then. She was running from people. Up ahead there were more. The memory ended. I could tell it was a memory. Only a memory feels like that. Not like I had much experience with them. Three girls appeared. I recognized two. I don¡¯t know where, but I know I have seen them before. The third, I couldn¡¯t tell who she was if my life depended on it. They were there for a second, and then they disappeared. Faded away. I knew they were still with me.This novel is published on a different platform. Support the original author by finding the official source. Sorry guys Hey guys! So I am really struggling to remember to post because I wrote this story a while back and I started realising that there are a bunch of things I neeed to change to fit the story later. I don''t know If I am going to continue writing this story or not. I might be continuing soon but for now, I am not so sure anything will be posted anymore. I am planning on writing something else and putting more description into it. I am hoping that maybe I will enjoy it more and eventually be able to post it here. I hope you guys understand. Now time to spend up the next 485 words. So I am thinking of doing kind of a similar character style to this story, just a completely different setting. I don''t know how well this will work, but the character I have built is the character I am most proud of. The only difference is she is more open. I would love it if you guys would suggest things to make my character better or even things you would like to see in a story. And before you come out and diss me super hard about how horrible my story is, It is a lot harder to write a story than it is to read one. Just going to put that out there. It took me over three months to get twenty pages as it was, and you have to be careful not to take other people''s ideas. Another thing is that it is hard to fill a page with as much detail as possible without boring readers and yourself. Yay! just another 220 words! Another thing. Try to calm down. There may be pressure in deadlines, but rather pass the deadline by a day or two with amazing content, than on the deadline with junk. I guess that is the biggest reason I won''t be continuing. I suck at deadlines, and this is just way to much work to be put in. Now, because I am running out of things to say, I am going to give you a bit of the new story I am writing. This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report. A smile shone through the small crowd of people. ¡°She is adorable! Gray eyes might not hold any power, but they sure are pretty!¡± A woman exclaimed. Her eyes were an electric blue, and her hair was a solid black. ¡°Her hair looks like yours Natalie!¡± She said to the older woman next to her. ¡°And she has Patrick¡¯s smile.¡± Natalie responded. ¡°She looks a lot like you Nora. Minus the eyes.¡± The person they were fawning over was in fact a baby. Her small hands grabbing at the air in front of her. Unbeknownst to the people in the room, there were in fact three spirits floating in front of the child. Type in the comments any names that spring to mind when you read this! And as well, don''t kill me for stopping this book. (Maybe?) There is just waaaaay too much work needed to be put in thios story. I really hope you understand - Human 1234
