 Chapter 1 How It All Began

    As I walk down the long hallway of the palace I look out a window looking at my father''s kingdom and its people.


    Thinking to myself.


    Someday this will all be mine and I will have the privilege of watching over such a peaceful and beautiful place.


    I turn around to walk to the throne room to talk to my father when a thundering boom rang behind me.

    I turn back to the window and a white light blinds me I fall rubbing my eyes.


    When I finally manage to stand the light was gone, but what I saw was much worse...


    There was a huge hole in the middle of the city, but before I could see how big it was, a guard snatched me up fleeing towards the throne room.


    I was panicking I started flailing and yelling "What are you doing put me down this instant!"


    However the guard did not obey, only saying "I am sorry my Prince but the kingdom is under attack, we must get you and your family to safety.¡±


    As we enter the throne room the guard finally puts me down.

    Looking around, I do not see my mother and my two little brothers, I start to freak out.


    I ask my dad, "Where is Mother, Arec and Alec. "


    A guard answers, " The Queen and the twins will be here soon, my Prince."


    I yelled back at him, "How soon, something bad could happen at any second.


    Besides why are we running we must stand and fight.¡±


    The guard responded, "We will stand and fight but the royal family must get out of here alive"


    "Not without the rest of my family!"


    I begin to run towards the door it, but it swings open.


    First two guards walk in then my mother and brothers with three more guards behind them.


    I run to my mom hugging her crying and saying "Mom I am so glad you are all right."


    She says back with a soft warm voice "I am glad to see you are safe too my son."


    I hug my brothers and turn around.


    I see the guards standing by a stone passage I had never seen before, my father already halfway in the passage, he gestures us to follow them.


    Entering the passage way, I look at the guards behind us, as they stay behind.


    I ask Father, ¡°Why aren¡¯t they following us father?¡±


    Father answers his tone serious, ¡°They will stay behind to buy us time, their sacrifice is an honorable one.

    I frown replying, ¡°Yes, father.¡±


    My mother bends down next to me, placing her hand on my shoulder.


    Mother tells me, ¡°Listen to your Father, Taveon.

    Turning my head forward I watch father¡¯s back. Hearing the sound of swords clashing I turn my head back to the entrance, as it closes stone crumbling from its edges and sealing with a resounding thud.


    I hold my brothers Arec and Alec¡¯s hands as we walk further down the hallway, mother ushering us forward.


    ¡°Clang!¡±


    Hearing the sound of metal against metal I turn my head up to see one of the guard¡¯s with his sword in the gut of the other. Before I can shout, the guard has already pulled out his sword from his fellow guard¡¯s gut and beheaded my father.


    Mother screams, the guard walks toward us, his blade dripping with blood, my brothers begins to cry, as as emotions well up like a storm inside my chest.


    Anger, regret, sadness, pain all fill my chest like a storm of emotions and¡­ Pain.


    It hurts.


    The ground shakes.


    It hurts.


    Mists of strange energy flicker off my body, as my hand tightly grips my shirt, over my heart.


    Why does it hurt so much!!!


    The shaking grows stronger.

    I look up at the knight.

 Chapter 2 Lost in multiple ways

    I woke up with my head spinning and a slight headache I remember we were walking down the path but anything after that is a blur. I looked around but the strange room I was in was void of people.


    I thought to myself, ¡®Is this the room where that secret path ends?¡¯


    I got up and started walking using what little light came in through a small hole in the roof. ai managed to find the door and open it, to my surprise I found myself looking out at what seemed to be a small village. I scanned the area with my eyes and tried to find my family, but I couldn¡¯t see them.


    I started shouting, ¡°Mother!! Father!!Mother!! Father!!¡±


    I yelled for them over and over again, as people began to give me strange looks.


    What I find more strange is that I was only getting weird looks when yelling for my dad.


    I take another look around, but I still don¡¯t see anyone.


    I started to hear people whispering saying things like, ¡°Poor child must be in shock.¡± or other sentimental phrases, I was ignoring it until one guy said something about my mother.

    He answered, ¡°You are the kid who was unconscious when your family came in a few suns ago right.¡±


    I responded, ¡°I think so I was knocked out so I couldn''t say for sure.¡±


    He answers,, ¡°I saw your mom up by the market, she was buying some fruit not to long ago. I think about 5 flicks ago.¡±


    ¡°Thank you.¡±


    I took off running only to realize I don''t know where I am going so I stopped to ask a older lady which way the market was.


    She very kindly told me, ¡°Head that way take a left turn as soon as you can turn right when you come out and go straight you should be there in just 2 flicks.¡¯


    ¡°Thank you¡±


    I ran to the alleyway and made my way to the market. I looked around for my mother but I couldn''t find her.


    Not to long later I notice Arec and Alec running around with each other. Thinking back on it they never did leave each other''s side, never being more the two feet apart from each other. I ran over to them and see my mother standing there.


    I ran over yelling ¡°Mother!!!¡±


    I hug her so tight on the verge of tears. She hugs me back, crying, I can hear her mumbling but I can''t make it out so I take a step back.


    I ask my mom ¡°Where is dad? Why is he not with you?¡±


    She starts to explain what happened to father, tears beginning to well up in her eyes, as she chokes them back and breathes in deeply, straightening her posture, and ushers me towards my brothers.


    Meeting up with my younger brothers who are standing side by side.


    Arec & Alec, ¡°You don¡¯t remember? Dad died and the you....¡±


    ¡°Boys that is enough¡± mom yelled cutting of the twins


    I don''t know what to do or what to say I don''t believe it how can he be dead. What about the guards that went in with us suddenly my head hurt like I was just hit with a rock I scream out loud from the pain mom kneels down and pulls me into her arms.


    My mother¡¯s voice straining she tells me, ¡°Everything will be alright we will make it. Just try to calm down I need you to be strong for your brothers and for me. Can you do that for me?¡±


    I stopped screaming and just cried into my mother''s shoulder. We returned to the building that I had woken up in then I went to the bed and laid down

 Chapter 3 Losing everything

    We are living in this village it¡¯s been 15 suns, now Mom seems to be holding up fine and the twins have made some new friends. Their friends names are Tommy and Lilith they seem like good kids. I''m just glad the twins haven''t lost their smiles. After asking Mom for the past few suns for permission to go play over at their friends.


    She lets the twins go play at Tommy''s house, as the twin head to Tommy¡¯s house with Tommy¡¯s Mom, we head back down the road. Mother looks at me and says, "Let''s go to the market we need some groceries."


    I nod to Mom as we head out. We are shopping when we hear the village alarm go off, we hear someone yell, ¡°Bandits are here!¡±


    Mom starts panicking, frantically saying, "I have to find the twins I have to protect them!"


    She grabs my hand and we take off running to Tommy''s home, but in the panic, I am knocked away from Mom and instantly the crowd is in between us.

    The crowd grows to thick for me to move through, so I yelled, "Keep going I will go around and meet up with you at Tommy''s house!"


    Mom starts  yelling something, but I can¡¯t hear her. I try to run around the crowd but it seems like the crowd moves with me, I try to push through the crowd, I barely make it through and run to Tommy''s house.


    However when I arrive I don¡¯t see anyone. I run into the house looking around and yelling for the twins. However with no response, I start to think maybe Mom already got them and turned back around for me. I run back to the market yelling for my mom, I''m almost back to where we got separated when a loud scream hits my ears. I look over and I see some men holding someone down, suddenly realizing it was my mom, I yell "MOM!!!"


    She turns to me and yells "No Taveon run you must get out of¡­"


    Her words interrupted with a dagger to her heart.


    I just stand frozen in place, still processing what just happened. Suddenly the men got up and walk towards me.


    Watching my Mother bleed out, it hit my she was dead.


    I just stood there and watched I did nothing to help her.


    I fall to my knees trembling, tears running down my face, saying to myself over and over again "You did nothing you let her die their both dead now.


    All because you just stood there and did nothing.


    You just watched it happen, why, why, why did I have to be so weak, why, why, why¡­"


    The strange man reached down and grabs me by my shirt I scream out, as loud as I can, "WHY!!!"


    Suddenly I feel that strange feeling again, but this time it feels like a thick smog, not a mist it, was heavy it felt hard to breathe and I started feeling faint¡­


    Then nothing.

 Chapter 4 A Sage Witness

    I stand atop of a mountain amidst a forest the sun low in the sky.


    When I hear a loud explosion and the mana in the atmosphere thickens.


    I turn my head toward a blue beam of light on the horizon and feel gusts of mana hit me.


    I quickly raise my hand and cut through the massive wave of mana surging from the blue beam of light.

    I whisper, ¡°Found you.¡±


    I lift my enchanted Dark Oak staff and slam its end against the rock of the mountain top, opening a portal.


    I step through the portal to the site of the beam piercing the sky, and wade through waves of mana and mystic.


    I trudge through the waves with sheer strength till strength no longer suffices and use my hands to part the mana and mystic, creating a tunnel to the source.


    There I see a young chimaera boy with elf ears, enlarged fangs on his top and bottom rows of teeth.


    His cat eyes, cheek stripes and his hair all glowing blue.


    He leaps at me claws of mystic around his fingers his mind in a beserk state.


    I calmly, grab his face and absorb his mana along with his mystic.


    The boy¡¯s body going slack in a state of unconsciousness.


    I sling the boy over my shoulder and head off towards the mountainous wildlands of the Dwarven Kingdom.
