《The Gaming God》 Chapter 1 In the middle of nowhere, a temple stood. It was beaten and battered, and it generally looked like it went through some hard times. It looked like it used to be a magnificent gold palace with jewels enlaced within. Inside the temple, a ragged priestess was kneeling to a statue. She looked skinny, her clothes were barely covering her once beautiful ivory skin. The statue, on the other hand, was of a handsome man, he wore a jacket, headphones, and wore an arrogant smirk. The priestess was mumbling incohesive mumbo jumbo under her breath. until finally, she started to say in an inhuman language ¡°O Great God of Gaming, listen to my words, as your last believer, grant my humble wish, please for I am about to die.¡±After she said this, an aged voice rang throughout the temple, ¡°I will grant you one wish of your choosing, for you have stuck with this old one for hundreds of years. Now tell me, what do you desire!¡± The priestess told her final wish in a hushed tone. After hearing her wish the God of Gaming grinned, ¡°I hope the kid got it in him, hopefully, he won¡¯t suffer that fate I have. Grid Choyoong, I give my power to you!¡± A flash of power bright enough to even burn the sun itself started to radiate from him. As he transfers his power. As suddenly as it came, the blinding light disappeared. The priestess smiled as her heart stopped. The old god heaved a sigh as he turned into dust and was carried away. ¡.The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement. At the same time in a continent far away, a ball a blinding light entered an alleyway, it entered a kid sleeping in a corner. The kid was Grid Choyoong, he had long black hair that covered one eye, his skin was pressing upon his bones, he would look handsome if he wasn¡¯t malnourished. He was an extremely poor kid. His parents abandoned him at a young age and he was forced to live a life of theft, as he didn¡¯t get a lot to eat, he was extremely weak. If that wasn¡¯t bad already, he was a cripple. He wasn¡¯t a cripple in your normal sense, in this world there was magic and swords. In other words, a fantasy world. In this world instead of having levels, they had realms, Hunter, Soldier, General, Hero, and King. Of course, there is more, but the general public doesn''t know much about it, so they can only speculate. Anyway, people are always born as a hunter realm, but Grid here, was born with no magic, so he is in a secret realm called cripple. Not only that, he was even weak among the other cripples! As the light entered him, he felt a wave of intense pain, the pain only lasted for half a second, but it was enough to wake him up. Grid groggily woke up and leaned on the cramped walls of the alley. He thought ¡®What the hell just happened? I swear I just felt a wave of pain hit me, eh I must have imagined it¡¯. Just as he said that a box popped up in front of him, in the box there was a message, [Greetings Master Grid, would you like to know your stats? Y/N]. Just as he was about to answer, out of nowhere, a fist went straight through the box, the fist cut the wind near it. Instantly the fist hit its mark, an otherworldly pain hit Grid, and so did a flood of blood. Chapter 2 Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings. Grid looked at his less than trash stats and saw something that caught his eye, ¡®Hmm I have something called pity points, what are those?¡¯ [ Pity points are points the system gives out of pity/ extreme trauma], the voice of the system, which sounded like that of a young girl, droned. Grid, realizing that it''s just fancy words for points, put all of them into his strength, literally doubling it. His muscles expanded, his bones strengthened and enlarged, and his skin pressed less on his bones and become more nourished, and his meridians bathed in the power of mana and expanded, and strengthened. Grid slightly moved his arms and legs, and a slight crackle sounded from his bones. Grid''s body now had enough strength to destroy a rock with his bare hands. For even Grid, who was considered weak in this world, could be considered stronger than a regular human. After he felt the euphoria of his newfound power, the rush was too much for his body and mind to handle, so he fainted on the spot. ¡ When he woke back up, it was already the next morning. His body was significantly better looking after that beating yesterday. He got up and started to do your typical warm-ups, you know, jumping jacks, splits, putting his leg to his bum and all that jazz. Because he knew that in a while, the thugs would come back for more. After a few more minutes of the calm before the storm, the thugs walked into the alleyway and sneered, ¡°Don¡¯t tell me you slept here the entire night after your beatdown, hmph, pathetic!¡± The gang laughed and jeered so loud It got to the point that a crowd started forming around Grid, and the thugs. ¡° Yeah, what if I did, what are you going to do punch me.¡± Grid laughed at them back, ¡° I challenge you to a formal dual!¡± Chapter 3 pt 2 The crowd watching the 4 of them, started to whisper in a barely audible, but just loud enough for Grid to hear it, ¡°Look, Mom, the cripple challenged them to a duel¡± ¡°Look away hun, the cripple is about to get hurt¡±. In this world, when one was challenged to a duel, both had to establish the rules of the dual and what each person would get if they won. For instance, you could bet a house, trading cards, items, or anything. But, there is one rule, no trading life of anything sentient. The people who established this duel system were the gods themselves, for it was what they would do in their respective heavens or hells. For those who broke the rules or didn¡¯t hold their end of the bargain, their very essence would be obliterated in the most blood-curdling way.Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions. ¡°Ok cripple, what do you have to bargain¡±. Grid waited for a few minutes pondering what would like to get and what he would give, ¡°If I win, you have to give me all that you own, If you win though, I will give you everything I ever gain.¡± The gang smiled and huddled together to discuss the best course of action. ¡° Yeah, but you have to work 16 hours a day, but enough of this, let¡¯s start the ritual.¡± The four of them walked up near each other and shouted loud enough for everyone to hear in a 2 block radius, ¡° I swear on the rules that bind this world to every other, O great Gods hear our cry, we are starting a duel. As they said this, there was a magic circle around the four of them, shining pink with particles of every color of the rainbow coming off of it. Suddenly, the world was bathed in a heavenly light.
