《Rising Force》 Chapter 1: Starlight.

Planet Hexia year 2168 city of Hakou. In the lower ring in an old apartment a rhythmic banging sound could be heard. Inside a young teenager named Lin xiu was busy hitting a training dummy, the training dummy he used was very outdated one that no one used anymore. The reason he was still using this outdated training dummy was simple, he was simply too poor to buy a new one. ¡°Wow big brother you have become even stronger than last time ¡°the sound came from the corner of the room were a girl was sitting in a wheelchair. Hearing her voice Lin xiu stopped his training, looked at the display on the training dummy and turned his head ¡°of course because I need to get stronger to protect my little sister right?¡± he said. Hearing his reply made the little girl blush, she smiled creating small dimples on her cheeks making her look even more very lovely, then she replied while blushing ¡°You will protect me forever big brother?¡±. When Lin xiu heard this he wassurprised for a little bit but he couldn¡¯t help but laugh and hurriedly replied ¡°yes as long as you want me too ¡°. He then walked to his little sister and started to push the wheelchair out of the room towards the living room. As he was pushing the wheelchair the little girl didn¡¯t reply but was instead happily humming. The little girl was Linjia and she was his little sister, 15 years old and only one year younger then Lin xiu. The reason she was in a wheelchair was because of a car accident that happened when she was 4 years old. Her spine got injured causing both of her legs to be paralyzed. Both of her parents died in the crash as well and only she could be saved. With todays advanced technology it wasn¡¯t impossible to cure her legs, but sadly the cost were just too high for them to bare. Because both of their parents died at a young age, it has always been theirgrandfather that took care of them, and taught them everything they knew since they were little. Lin xiu had been taught martial arts from his grandfather since he was 6 years old. He loved it because it gave him a goal and strength to protect his little sister. His grandfather soon noticed that Lin xiu was very gifted and tried to get all kinds of techniques and movies forhim to watch and learn. Because of Lin xiu¡¯s high comprehension and perception he spend all his free time combining and mixing everything he learned. He did this out of instinct to make his martial arts even better and flow more naturally. When his grandfather first saw this he was completely shocked. You have to understand that learning a technique and making a technique your own are two completely different things. Let alone combining and mixing all sorts of different techniques to make your own martial arts style. Of course his martial arts style was far from complete but the only reason for this was because he simply lacked the time and money. His sister Linjia on the other hand spend all her time studying, her legs were paralyzed and she couldn¡¯t practice martial arts. This greatly saddened her because she would really love to train together with her big brother. And maybe also because that way she could spend more time with her brother. In school she was always ranked in the top 10 and she always tried her best to learn as much as she could to not disappoint her brother and grandfather. When they arrived in the living room they saw that the lights were still off, it seemed that their grandfather was still not home yet. Lin xiu pushed the wheelchair towards the VR-Capsule and opened it. He slowly picked up Lin jiafrom her wheelchair and carefully placed her into the VR-Capsule. Getting picked up so carefully like a princess made Lin xian blush a little. She smiled and said ¡°thank you big brother¡± while trying to hide her face. Seeing his little sister being embarrassed like that made Lin xiu almost laugh out loud but he tried his best to hold it in and said ¡°I am going to close the capsule now, good luck and call me when you are finished¡± Seeing him try to hold back his laughter made her even more embarrassed, she pouted and said ¡°close the capsule already!¡± He quickly closed the capsule while muttering¡± yes yes princess¡± while thinking *girls going through puberty are really impossible to understand*. After he closed the capsule he went to the bathroom and started to fill up the bathtub. The water coming out of the tap was boiling hot, steam soon filled the entire bathroom. He added some Piercing grass to the water before he took a quick shower. When he was done showering he stepped into the bathtub and slowly closed his eyes. His face looking completely tranquil with no signs of pain or discomfort. This was incredible because to a normal person the boiling hot water alone would already be enough to make them scream from pain, let alone boiling hot water with piercing grass. Piercing grass is mostly used in combination with other medicines that negate the painful side effects of piercing grass. Soaking in piercing grass will strengthen ones flesh and muscles. But no one would even think of using it without the other medicines. This was because the pain, and suffering one would have to go through would simply be unbearable. But Lin xiu was too poor and couldn¡¯t afford to buy all those other expensive medicines so he could only rely on this method. He also took it a step further by using boiling hot water, the hotter the water the more active the piercing grass would be resulting in an even higher level of pain. To any normal, and sane person this method was simply too crazy, but Lin xiu wasn¡¯t crazy at all. He was actually very smart because only by using it like this could you draw out all off the medicinal strength of the piercing grass. If you didn¡¯t use it like this then you would at waste 20-30% of its medicinal strength. And for Lin xiu getting piercing grass was already hard so he couldn¡¯t waste any of it. Lin xiu was still calmly laying in the bathtub completely focused on his breathing. After roughly 30 minutes he climbed out of the bath but he looked vastly different compared to before. His body was almost completely covered in a black, and sticky substance, the smell was also disgusting. The black substance was the result from all the impurity¡¯s that got pushed out of his skin by the piercing grass. He took another quick shower to wash away that sticky substance before getting dressed. After he got dressed he walked to the living room, and took out a blue nutrient bottle from the refrigerator. He went to sit on the cough and said ¡°Nadia show current news¡± ¡°yes young master¡± said a fairy like voice, a bright light came down from the ceiling showing the current news. The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation. ¡°Pandora opening 1-1-2169 the first VRMMORPG with full immersion, and a fully AI controlled environment¡± it was the commercial that always showed up lately. He wasn¡¯t that knowledgeable about the current games because he never had the time to play games, but he kept thinking that maybe ¡°Pandora¡± could be of help to him. He said ¡°Nadia search Pandora¡±, after his voice ended all sorts of information about Pandora popped up before him. It was estimated that almost every professional gamer was going to play Pandora, and more than 90% of all the professional gaming clubs already announced their transfer too Pandora. The information that he found most interesting was the part about selling in-game items/money for real world Credits. Your Pandora character would be linked to all your real world personal information such as your bank account, medical records etc. This way you could trade other players or auction houses your in-game items, and sell them for real world Credits. The Credits would then be instantly transferred to your bank account. Of course he wouldn¡¯t expect this to make him rich or anything, but at least it would give him a chance to earn Credits in a safer way. Currently finding a job was becoming harder, and harder. For the last few months he couldn¡¯t find any work so he was forced to go outside the city, and hunt for beast. Hunting beast was very dangerous, and he could barely kill the grade 1 beginner beast. The beast grades went from 1-9 weak to strong, and every beast grade was then divided into the beginner, intermediate, and advanced. He was still able to run away from grade 1 intermediate, and barely from a grade 1 advanced beast, but if he met any grade 2 beast then he would be finished. He couldn¡¯t keep taking this risk in the long run, and thus he needed to find another way of income. This made him look for anything, and everything. All sorts of things popped up in his head, but he still couldn¡¯t find anything except for Pandora. The only problem was the price of the new Zania VR-Capsules that you needed to be able to play Pandora. The price was 1.000.000 Credits, It wasn¡¯t something he could just spend on something that might or might not pay off. But it seemed that the stars finally shined upon him, and after looking through the latest information. He found out that the government not only heavily supported Pandora, but now they even went as far as too provide loans for the Zania VR-Capsules. The Zania VR-Capsules cost 1.000.000 Credits and the loan had a monthly interest of 1%. So he had to pay at least 10.000 credits a month which wasn¡¯t a lot, but it also wasn¡¯t cheap. He calculated that if he kept hunting beast everyday then he would be able to afford it. But if he didn¡¯t make any money from Pandora then it would still have been a very expensive mistake. Still it seemed that this was his only chance for a safer way of making money. Although he still wasn¡¯t 100% sure about this idea at least he found something. While he was thinking about this he suddenly broke out of his thoughts by the sound of his little sister¡¯s VR-Capsule opening. He looked back, and saw his little sister getting up from her VR-Capsule, she was looking around with a confused look on her face obviously still being slightly dazed. With a pained expression on his face he said ¡°wait I am coming, I will help you get in the wheelchair¡±. Seeing his dazed little sister still pained his hearth. The VR-Capsule his little sister was using tostudy was very old, and it still had the side effects that you would get really dizzy, and mentally exhausted after using it. He slowly picked up his little sister, and placed her carefully in the wheelchair. After placing her in the wheelchair he quickly grabbed a green nutrient bottle from the refrigerator, and opened it. He gently placed the bottle against her lips and said ¡°here, drink slowly¡± She slowly drank the nutritional fluid, and hercomplexion started to slowly become better. After finishing the whole bottle she finally turned back to normal, and said ¡°thank you brother¡± while blushing a little. She was blushing because her brother was still holding her chin from helping her drink, and was meticulously wiping away the left over nutritional fluids from her lips. Noticing what he was doing, and thinking about that his little sister wasn¡¯t small anymore, he quickly let go and walked back to the kitchen to dispose of the bottle. After he returned to his little sister he saw she was intently looking at the information about Pandora that was still being displayed in the air. From her look he could see that she was very interested in Pandora as well, so he quickly asked her ¡°are you also interested in Pandora?¡±. Hearing this she was a bit surprised, and she had a strange look flash on her face for a moment before quickly returning to normal. Afraid her brother would notice her strange behavior she quickly explained herself ¡°a little but I am more surprised that brother is interested in Pandora. If I remember correctly then you have never been interested in any game before right?¡± He did not notice his little sister¡¯s strange behavior and said ¡°Yeah before I was never really interested, but Pandora seems a little different. I was thinking maybe I could earn some Credits while playing this game¡± Lijia was relieved that her brother didn¡¯t seem to have noticed her strange behavior, and replied ¡°Hmm yeah I also think that it¡¯s possible but it might be hard as you are on your own. If you had friends you could play together and everything would be easier¡±. After replying she seemed to have noticed her mistake from the look on her brother¡¯s face, and quickly continued ¡°But being alone is also a good thing because then you don¡¯t have to wait for anyone, and you can play whenever you like. Also there are a lot of things that could make you money like mining or farming which you can do solo.¡± After hearing the last part he seemed to have regained his composure, and replied ¡°It seems you know more about games then me, do you want to help me look for the best way for me to make money in-game?¡±. Li jia was happy that she would be able to help her brother so she quickly said ¡°Sure brother lets quickly look at all the information available, and see what we can think off¡± After hearing her reply he moved his little sister¡¯s wheelchair next to the couch, and slowly lifted her up from her seat, and gently placed her on the couch. After placing her on the couch he went, and sat down next to her, and together they started to look through all the information about Pandora.

Chapter 2: First steps or last steps. After looking through a lot of information they noticed that most of the information about Pandora was merely speculation, and unreliable. So they went to the only reliable source of information, and that was Pandora¡¯s official online database. They soon found the information they were looking for it was about the races, and the classes. It said that Pandora would have 3 races, but there was only information about one of them, and the other two were hidden with a question mark. Surprisingly the race that wasn''t hidden was called ¡°Hexonian,¡±which looked pretty similar too ¡°Hexian,¡± their own race. They weren¡¯t sure if this was done intentionally, or not because it wasn¡¯t mentioned, and it might seem pretty far fetched but it was pretty interesting nonetheless. They didn¡¯t think too deep about it and were more focused on the details of the ¡°Hexonian,¡± race. Because even more surprisingly was that the race had the same special characteristics as they themselves had, and that was bloodline power. It said that the VR-capsule would take your blood sample on your first login, and use that information to give you extra abilities, and stats. They themselves didn¡¯t know a lot about the power of bloodlines because they were from the lower ring, and information like this was not available for their kind. The only thing they knew about bloodlines was from what their grandfather told them, and that was that a long time ago people used beast blood to train their bodies. These bloodlines then later became hereditary, and now they exist in everyone. However they were lying dormant and needed certain things to awaken. What these things were however was something they didn¡¯t know. Their grandfather never told them, and always just said that the things needed were too far out of reach for them. But the fact that these bloodlines were also used in Pandora as an element was very strange, and combined with the name of the race Hexonian made it really suspicious. They now knew why there was so much gossip and unreliable info regarding Pandora, it was because of these two things, and people couldn''t help but speculate, and imagine all kinds of crazy theories. But there wasn¡¯t any specific information other than this sadly, and they could only look for the classes section. in the classes section it said that the classes in Pandora were: warrior, guardian, ranger, assassin, mage and priest. These were also the classes that most of the games used so nothing special or strange about this. Aside from this information it said that you couldn¡¯t chose your own class, and that your class would be chosen by the AI of Pandora. The AI would use all your recorded information such as, your body type, bloodline, and other things it found hidden in your genetic code. Other than that it didn¡¯t mention anything else on the topic of Pandora¡¯s class system. So they then went to the profession section, but sadly the only information given was that it would have the same professions as on Hexia. Disappointed they tried to look for more information in the database but sadly there wasn¡¯t anything else. Lin jia noticed the disheartened look on her brother¡¯s face and tried to cheer him up ¡°although we couldn¡¯t find much we still gained a few valuable pieces of information,¡± she said. The look on Lin xiu¡¯s face turned a bit better, but he wasn¡¯t sure if his little sister was just trying to make him feel better so he asked ¡°was there really valuable information?¡± Lin jia saw her brother¡¯s apprehensive look and explained ¡°the two pieces of information that are most important are about Pandora¡¯s classes and professions¡± ¡°For the classes the AI also takes note of the body type of the person, and body type doesn¡¯t just simply mean the size of someone¡¯s body.¡± ¡°It is much more complex than that, and it includes the state of someone¡¯s, muscles, blood vessels, and also their internal energy system, mental disposition, and maybe even more¡± ¡°This could mean that with your martial arts back ground, strength of your muscles , and your energy cultivation that you would most likely be a warrior, or guardian in Pandora.¡± ¡°The reason this is good news is because now we know that you will be able to use your fighting skills properly, if the AI would randomly selected your class, and you would end up being a priest then the situation would be a lot worse.¡± Hearing his sister he found out how good this actually was, he couldn¡¯t imagine himself having to play as a priest. Can you imagine a martial arts lover being stuck healing people from the backline. Just the thought of it already scared the shit out of him, his days would have simply been hell. Lin jia saw her brother¡¯s relieved expression and continued ¡°the second piece of valuable news, is that the professions will be the same as on our planet¡±. ¡°This means most likely that if you are knowledgeable, and experienced about a profession here, then lvling that profession up in Pandora would be easier.¡± ¡°But of course these are just my thoughts, and conjectures, and there is always a chance that I am wrong¡± she quickly added. Both Lin xiu, and Lin jia were really intelligent, they were both tested when they were little. Lin xiu¡¯s intelligence level was 81, and Lin jia¡¯s was even higher at 94. Lin xiu knew how intelligent his little sister was, and knew that even though she said she could be wrong she was actually already 90% sure. Lin xiu was also pretty sure that what his little sister said was the right conjecture. So he said ¡°I think with the information we got on Pandora so far we can be pretty sure that this is right¡±. This story has been unlawfully obtained without the author''s consent. Report any appearances on Amazon. ¡°But the problem then still remains about what profession would be the best, and if it is even possible to learn any of them with the limited time we have until Pandora¡¯s release.¡± ¡°As you know we also don¡¯t have that much money to spare¡± he added. Hearing this Lin jia turned quiet and starting making all sort of calculations in her mind. Seeing his little sister trying so hard to think of something to help him warmed his heart, *it¡¯s great to have such a caring and loving little sister* he silently thought. As he was lost in his own thoughts his little sister suddenly opened her eyes, and a mysterious glimmer could be seen in them, and she said, ¡°There are three options that we can choose from, mining, and blacksmithing, inscription, herb gathering, and medicine creation¡±. ¡°I know you secretly go outside the city gates to hunt monsters so finding low grade minerals and herbs shouldn¡¯t be that difficult¡± ¡°You can also use the materials from the low grade beast that you hunt in combination with the herbs for medicine creation, or for inscription.¡± ¡°Although I said three options I think it is a waste not to learn all of them, however the time we have isn¡¯t much so it¡¯s up to you.¡± ¡°I also like to mention that if you learn all three then you would waste the least amount of materials and maybe even make more money in the long run¡±, she added as she looked cleverly at her brother waiting for his reply. Lin xiu knew what she meant if he just learned mining, and blacksmithing then he would only be able to create low grade weapons, but if he added inscriptions on them then the value would rise exponentially. He also never even thought of just learning the last option herb gathering, and medicine creation. This was because a lot of medicine needed materials from a beast, and you couldn¡¯t sell half cut open beast in the lower city. People weren¡¯t stupid and the things that were most valuable in a beast where it¡¯s materials that were used for either medicine creation or cooking. He also trusted his little sister¡¯s judgment and already decided what he was going to do ¡°then I will learn all three because even if I focus on only one, with the limited time we have I wouldn¡¯t be able to become a master anyways¡± he said. Lin jia face was almost glowing, and she looked extremely happy hearing her brother¡¯s decision ¡°I knew brother would trust me¡± she said while smiling. Seeing his little sister smiling from ear to ear made him happy as well ¡°of course I trust my intelligent and cute little sister¡± he replied. When Lin jia heard her brother call her cute she suddenly blushed, and she became as red as a fire bean she tried to lower her head so her brother wouldn¡¯t notice. When Lin xiu saw his little sister¡¯s actions he pretended not to notice and thought *really what is this little sister of mine always thinking in that little head of hers*. He tried to find something to smoothly change the subject and he noticed the time, 21:56. Having found something to change the subtject he quickly said ¡°Jia it¡¯s time to go to bed it¡¯s already late, let me help you get in the wheelchair¡±. Looking at the time Lin jia also noticed it was already late so she silently nodded her head. Lin xiu picked up his little sister and gently place her in her wheelchair. Lin jia¡¯s complexion was slowly returning to normal but being picked up like a princess made her red like a fire bean all over again. Lin xiu saw his little sister¡¯s face turn completely red again and could help but shake his head and think *why are girls going through puberty so strange, I always did this since she was little but only since 2 years ago has she started acting this way*. He pretended not to see his little sisters face as he pushed her into the bathroom, and they started to brush their teeth. After brushing their teeth he pushed his little sister to her bedroom and lifted her up from her wheelchair into her bed. He pretended not to notice his little sister¡¯s strange behavior, and tucked her in before saying goodnight. Even though Lin jia was embarrassed she still barely managed to say goodnight before the door of her bedroom closed. Hearing his little sister say goodnight in such a strange way only made him shake his head again *what has happened to her* he thought. ¡°Grandfather still hasn¡¯t come home,¡± he thought, it wasn¡¯t unusual for his grandfather to come home late, but it still made him a little worried. The lower ring wasn¡¯t safe and his grandfather was already getting old. He also noticed his grandfather¡¯s health getting worse recently, but his grandfather never wanted to talk about it, and always tried to change the subject as fast as possible. While he was thinking about this he already reached his room, and he closed the door before he started meditating on his bed. He liked to meditate before going to sleep not only would this help cultivate his energy, and mind it also helped him fall asleep quicker and deeper. After meditating for about 30 min he quickly fell into deep sleep. --- Couch, cough. Cough. His eyes sprang open as he was woken up by loud coughing sounds, they seemed to be coming from the bathroom. He quicklygot out of his bed,and headed to the bathroom. The bathroom door was closed so he quickly opened the door, and the scene inside made his face turn completely pale. Chapter 3: The past. The first thing he saw was blood coming out of his grandfather¡¯s mouth, and all the bloodcoveringhis t-shirt. His grandfather was still busy coughing up blood, but he noticed the door slamming open. He turned around his face looking completely calm, but you could still see a ferociousness glint hidden deep in his eyes. When he noticed it was his grandson Lin xiu standing in the doorway his eyes immediately returned to normal, and even started to show some gentleness inside them. After looking at his concerned grandson for a bit he opened his mouth and said ¡°I am fine it¡¯s just my little old injury acting up again nothing to worry about so go back to sleep Xiu¡±. Lin xiu¡¯s face went from concerned to mad after he heard the words coming out of his grandfather¡¯s mouth, and he yelled ¡°do you think I am stupid even with all this blood here you still dare to say it¡¯s just a little old injury?¡± ¡°You think you can still keep playing this down even after I saw the state you¡¯re in right now, and you expect me to just silently go back to sleep?¡± he continued yelling. The anger inside Lin xiu had been building up for a while now because of his grandfather always hiding things, but now everything came out at once, and he kept yelling ¡°you better give me explanation for what happened today!¡± His grandfather was still looking extremely calm not bothered in the slightest by his yelling at all, and he was just calmly gazing at Lin xiu. This made Lin xiu even more upset, and he was about to open his mouth but just then his grandfather started to speak. ¡°Okay first calm down, and let me meditate for a bit to calm down this old injury of mine, go wait for me in the living room¡± right after saying this he said down, and closed his eyes, and he started to meditate not caring about Lin xiu anymore. Seeing this Lin xiu could only helplessly walk out of the bathroom, and wait for his grandfather in the living room. He sat down on the couch, and all sort of possibilities kept spinning through his head. After what seemed to have been ages the door of the living room finally opened, and his grandfather calmly walked in. He was wearing clean clothes, and his complexion looked a lot better. He first headed to the refrigerator, and grabbed a purple nutrient bottle, and downed it in one go. He threw away the bottle walked to couch, and sat down next to Lin xiu. Lin xiu¡¯s head was full of questions, but he decided to wait, and see what his grandfather wanted to say. His grandfather looked deeply into Lin xiu¡¯s eyes before calmly saying ¡°your real name is not Lin xiu, but Wu xing your family was the hidden guardian family of the Tang family¡±. ¡°As you can probably guess now, Lin jia¡¯s name is also fake, and her real name is Tang Jiao. You and Jiao are the only known descendants left of your families¡± he said. You could be reading stolen content. Head to the original site for the genuine story. After hearing this it was like a bomb went off inside Wu Xing¡¯s head, but his grandfather didn¡¯t give him any time to digest this information, and continued speaking. ¡°The story about the car accident is also fake, these are memories implanted by Tang jiao¡¯s mother Tang jiali by using an ancient technique.¡± ¡°This is also the reason you don¡¯t remember anything form before the car crash, due to the limited amount of time she could only seal away your memories completely.¡± Bomb after bomb went off inside Wu xing¡¯s head he had a lot of questions, but as if this wasn¡¯t enough his grandfather still continued unleashing even more shocking news. ¡°The reason for all of this is because of a very big conspiracy that caused the Wu and Tang family to be hunted down for years.¡± ¡°No one can know you real names because this would bring doom upon us. I know you have a lot of questions right now, but this is all you have to know for now.¡± ¡°Also keep this information hidden from your sister she doesn¡¯t have to know all these things. Sometimes ignorance is bliss.¡± ¡°I am going to sleep so my injuries can heal, and you should do the same.¡± After he finished speaking he didn¡¯t wait for Wu xing¡¯s reply, and just left. Wu xing¡¯s mind was a mess he had tons of questions, but the last words of his grandfather left a deep impression in him *sometimes ignorance is bliss* he thought. He decided that he needed to get stronger as fast as possible because only then could he help his grandfather carry the burden. Only by being strong enough could one stop being ignorant, and know more. He didn¡¯t want to continue being left in the dark like a frog in a well always looking up, but never knowing what was outside. He was tempted to ask Nadia for information about the Wu and Tang families, but he quickly removed that thought from his head. He wasn¡¯t stupid, and knew that there was a very big chance that information about the Wu, and Tang was being monitored. If that was true then the consequences of his actions would only be death. Thinking any more about this matter was pointless, and he knew he couldn¡¯t find the answers he wanted anyways. So he went back to bed, and decided that from tomorrow on he would do everything he could to get stronger. He would make his training even harder, and more brutal. Unwavering determination could be seen in his eyes before he closed them, and started to meditate. After roughly 30 min of meditating he fell into a deep sleep again. What he and his grandfather didn¡¯t know however was that his little sister Tang jiao was awake and had heard everything they had talked about. Chapter 4: The morning after. It was still dark outside, but Wu xing was already awake he woke up earlier today because he wanted to add 2 more hours to his training schedule. To be able to add 2 more hours of training he also had to wake up 2 hours earlier and it was only 04:00. After waking up he immediately sat down and started to meditate, to successfully meditate you had to empty your mind completely, and remove all unnecessary thoughts. When you reach the empty mind state your body will automatically start to attract energy from the environment. The energy will then flow into your body through the skin, muscles, and the flesh before coursing through the veins towards the heart. When reaching the heart it would gather, and settle down inside of it. Throughout the course of the day it would keep spreading every time the heart pumped. It would flow through all the blood vessels big, and small strengthening everything in its way. This would use up the energy little by little with every beat of the heart energy would be spread, and the benefits from this were great. The energy would strengthen all the blood vessels the flesh, and the muscles it would even strengthen the organs, and bones. Scientist also researched a lot on this subject, and they also found out that it would strengthen certain things that were found on a genetic level, but the information about this wasn¡¯t public so he wasn¡¯t sure. His grandfather only told him that it was important to meditate every morning when waking up, and every night before going to sleep. Wu xing knew that his grandfather was a man of few words, and would only say the things that were really important. He would never speak any unnecessary words, and Wu xing had a suspicion that everything his grandfather said, and did was with a special reason. He couldn¡¯t put his finger on it, but this was just what he always thought. He thought that his grandfather was a very wise, and an extremely smart man always thinking a hundred steps ahead. Wu xing trusted his grandfather so he always started the day with meditating. After he was done with meditating he headed to the training room. He opened the database, and soon found the new technique his grandfather prepared for him for today. The technique for today was for the spear so he walked towards the weapon rack, and grabbed a training spear. He walked back to the middle of the room, and said ¡°Nadia show the spear technique .¡± Nadia immediately answered ¡°Yes young master showing now.¡± Just when her words finished a flash of light spread in the room a hologram of a warrior with a spear suddenly stood in front of him. The warrior in front of him took a battle stance, and suddenly stepped forward the spear came slashing down right at the same time. Even though it sounded simple it was far from being simple. The single step that the warrior took was 5 meters from start to finish, and the strike also started and finished at the exact same time as the feet landed. To be able to accomplish this one had to guide the energy from the heart to the legs, and the arms at the same time. And if that wasn¡¯t hard enough already you still had to precisely time it so that the motion of the arms, and legs started, and ended at the exact same time. This required you to be able to control your muscles with extreme expertise, something that was impossible for normal people to accomplish even if they were given 100 years. This technique was only for people who had really high comprehension and perception. The wind splitting strike was classified as a grade 3 spear technique. Grade 3 martial arts techniques needed on to have a comprehension level of at least 60, and a perception level of at least 65. Wu xing¡¯s grandfather used a special program to test his comprehension, and perception level when he was little, and the results were shocking. His comprehension level was 117, and his perception was only a couple points lower level 113. These numbers were simply monstrous, and his grandfather even said that he had never personally seen levels as high as that. Wu xing knew that when his grandfather said *personally seen* it also meant that there definitely were people with levels equal or higher then him, but his grandfather just hadn¡¯t personally seen them. His grandfather didn¡¯t care to elaborate, and Wu xing knew that asking wouldn¡¯t get him anywhere as well so his just made a note of it in his mind. The spear warrior would display the move every 30 seconds, and Wu xing kept walking around the warrior observing it from every angle while trying to imprint the warrior¡¯s movements in his mind. After roughly 10 minutes he went to stand right next to the spear warrior while taking the exact same battle pose. When the spear warrior moved he moved all his movements were exactly the same all the way until the end were he made a mistake, and put too much force in his legs making him step to far. This resulted in his spear move ending before his legs, and at least 90% of its power and speed was lost. But it was insane that after just 10 minutes of watching he could actually display the technique to this level after all this was just his first try. He went back, and stood next to the spear warrior again he contemplated about what he did wrong, and what he needed to change. Every 30 seconds he would move at the same time as the spear warrior displaying the wind splitting strike. He kept doing this for exactly 120 times this took him 1 hour to complete. The last couple of times his technique looked 100% identical to the spear warrior¡¯s the only difference was the amount of strength, and energy used. To completely assimilate this technique he would still need to practice this in real combat. He started training at 04:30, and it was now 05:40 he took a 5 min break before moving to the next training phase. This time he was going to train his body so he said ¡°Nadia increase gravity x10.¡± The author''s content has been appropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. ¡°Yes young master increasing gravity to x10 now¡± said Nadia. Right when her words fell he started to feel his body become heavier, and he felt like every fiber in his body was being pulled down to the ground. After the gravity reached x10 he started to use the technique his grandfather taught him . It was a movement technique his grandfather was most proud of it was a grade 9 technique. This technique was very complicated even for Wu xing, and he hadn¡¯t completely mastered this technique even till this day. You have to know that he started to train this technique from an early age when he was just 10 years old. It took him 1 year just to get the basic steps down, and mastering them took another 6 months. However even after 5 years he still hadn¡¯t been able to completely grasp the essence of this technique. What was even more surprising was that this grade 9 technique wasn¡¯t even complete it was missing the last 2 parts. It was already a grade 9 technique when it wasn¡¯t complete he could only imagine the power the power it had when it was truly complete. Using under the effects of the gravity x10 made it incredibly hard and after just 30 min he fell down and said ¡°Nadia end training¡±. ¡°Yes young master¡± she said. After finishing his body training he took another break this time it was 10 minutes. When he finished his break he said ¡°Nadia start training dummy, and set it to hand to hand combat fighting level grade 2¡±. The training dummy in the corner of the room opened its eyes and slowly stood up. He walked to the middle of the room and took a battle stance. Wu xing also took his battle stance and a countdown sounded in the air. 3 2 1 Fight! Right when the words *fight* ended they both jumped at each other, and struck out with their fist. Banging sounds could be continuously heard it was the sound of the training dummy taking hits. Even after 30 min Wu xing still didn¡¯t get hit a single time, every time he would dodge just in time making the training dummy miss by a hair. Al though it sounded like he was just barely being able to dodge, but Wu xing was actually doing this intentionally to train himself. He continued for another 10 minutes before saying ¡°Nadia end training dummy program and set it to charge itself¡±. ¡°Yes young master¡± said Nadia again. He looked at the time on his wrist band 07:05 it showed so he went to his little sister¡¯s room. He opened the door, and saw his little sister hugging her pillow in her sleep. She looked extremely cute while doing this and he couldn¡¯t help but smile when seeing her like this. But seeing her also reminded him of the talk he had with his grandfather the previous night. His little sister Lin jia actually wasn¡¯t his real sister her real name was Tang jiao. He took a second to think but in the end he still decided to wake her up by saying ¡°Lin jia wake up my cute little sister¡± while shaking her shoulders. Tang jiao¡¯s (lin jia¡¯s) eyes sprang open looking extremely startled and screamed ¡°Why are you waking me up again I am not a little girl anymore!¡± while pushing his hands of her shoulders. Wu xing could only helplessly smile and say ¡°well it is already past 07:00, and you were still sleeping so I went to wake you up¡± Tang jiao hid under the blanket, and screamed ¡°I already told you a 100 times that I want to sleep till 07:15 why do you keep waking me up before that!¡± Wu xing awkwardly shook his head while apologizing ¡°Sorry, sorry I will remember next time, I am going to shower now see you at breakfast¡± before quickly walking out of his little sister¡¯s bedroom. When he closed the door he softly murmured ¡°of course I remember that you want to wake up later, but to me you will always be my little sister who I have to wake up¡± while walking to the bathroom. He took a quick shower, and after eating breakfast he walked his little sister to school. The school was only a 15 minute walk, but the lower ring wasn¡¯t a safe place for a girl to walk alone. Here in the lower ring you would never see a girl walking alone they either walked with a boy or together with a group of girls. After taking his little sister to school he went back home to grab his hunting gear before heading out again. Just when he opened the door he heard his grandfather say ¡°you going outside the city to hint beast today?¡± Wu xing was startled by this question because he never told his grandfather that he was hunting beast. He slowly turned his head, and as he faced his grandfather he answered ¡°yes I am¡±. His grandfather calmly looked deep into his eyes before he said ¡°go to gate 11 today, and ask for Lan xiao and tell him Night walker send you, and he will help you¡± Wu xing looked at his grandfather and he wondered who his grandfather really was, and it took him a minute before he was able to give a short reply ¡°okay I will, anything else?¡± he said. His grandfather only said ¡°be safe¡± before he walked back into his room, and closed the door. Looking at his grandfather he thought *even though you don¡¯t say much the things you do say mean a lot, I will definitely get stronger soon, and then I want to hear everything*. He picked up his bag, and walked out of the door heading to gate 11. Chapter 5: Meeting Lan Xiao. Gate 11 was too far away for Wu Xing to walk so he had to use the underground transportation station. There were too many people in Haikou City, so it wasn¡¯t viable for everyone to use transportation on the streets to move from one place to another. The streets would be become way too congested, and accidents, and disputes would frequently occur because of this. So people from the lower ring either had to walk for the shorter distances, or use the underground transportation service for the longer distances. It took Wu Xing 10 minutes to reach the elevator going down to the underground transportation station. The elevator took him down 200 meters which took about 60 seconds before it reached its destination. When the elevator doors opened he was greeted with a sight he just couldn¡¯t get used to no matter how many times he saw it. Because although everyone called this the underground transportation station, it actually looked a lot more like a giant market place. Shops were everywhere the eyes could see, and the streets were bustling with people. Enormous tunnels were coming in from every direction, the width of each tunnel was at least 30 meters, and its height was a stunning 50 meters. The reason for this was because in the lower ring everything above ground was almost 90% used for residential properties with only %5 remaining for the beast hunting guilds, and merchant companies, and another 5% for the schools, and training facilities. The underground however was only used for shops, and storage facilities creating a very different atmosphere compared to the world above. You could buy everything you wanted here as long as you had enough Credits. Wu Xing headed straight to the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Station that was headed for Gate 11. Luckily he arrived just on time as the train was just about to leave, so he quickly bought a ticket for 500 Credits, and entered the train. After entering the train he noticed it was very crowded so he started to look around to see if he could find himself an open seat. After walking for a bit he found an open seat next two 2 ladies, so he walked to them, and asked ¡°Hello ladies is this seat available?¡± Both ladies were wearing masks which was common here because it was safer to travel that way. A lot of conflicts always started because of evil man wanting to have a beautiful woman, so it was better for the woman to disguise themselves, and hide their beauty. Still woman cared a lot about their outer appearance so over the years their mask also started to look beautiful. The woman on the right near the window had a blue mask with a gorgeous flame pattern on it. The woman next to her on the left had a purple mask with a flowery pattern on it. The woman on the left spoke first, and politely said ¡°Yeah it¡¯s free please sit down¡± with a charming voice. The woman on the right didn¡¯t even look at Wu Xing, and kept staring at the information her wristband was projecting in front of her. Wu Xing didn¡¯t mind, and just politely replied to the woman with the purple mask ¡°Thank you my name is Lin Xiu, nice to meet you¡±. ¡°Nice to meet you¡± the woman replied, not seeming to want to continue speaking with him as she turned towards her friend, and they started to discuss something. Wu Xing knew she didn¡¯t want to continue talking so he just started to look around, and saw the doors close. The train was leaving, and it would take roughly 15 minutes to reach their destination. After the train arrived at the underground station near gate 11 he quickly said good bye to the 2 ladies before rushing off to look for a couple of things he needed to buy. The girl with the flowery pattern mask was observing Wu Xing as she seemed to be thinking about something while heading out of the train, she seemed to be lost in thought for a minute before she quickly shook her head. Wu Xing was already heading to the blacksmith shop to buy some mining equipment. When he entered he saw a lot of different pickaxes but he just bought the cheapest pickaxe for a 1000 Credits. He quickly put the pickaxe in his wristband, his wrist band was very old, and low grade so it only had a storage capacity of 10 cubic meters, but it was still enough for now. He also bought information about a location near gate 11 were he could mine common minerals, this cost him another 1000 Credits. The information got uploaded into his wristband directly into his personal online database that was connected to his AI Nadia. She started to calculate the best route from gate 11 to the mining location. Nadia said it would take about 2 hours to get there from gate 11, and that there were a couple of grade 1 Rock Spiders in the valley. It didn¡¯t specifically say how many there were, but it said that there were less than a dozen. The valley was very big so the chances of meeting one was relatively small she said. After this he still needed to buy some herb gathering tools, herb gathering information, and some empty vials, and bottles. The herb gathering tool was a special knife used for cutting herbs, and flowers it cost 1000 Credits. The information he bought was mainly about the herbs, and flowers that were most commonly seen around Gate 11, and the correct way to harvest them. This cost him another 500 credits which was less than he expected, but this was due to there not being any specific locations, so he still had to find them on his own. He also bought 10 empty vials and 100 bottles. 10 empty vials cost him 100 credits, and the 100 bottles cost him another 2000 credits. The empty vials would be used to hold the poison from the beasts, and the empty bottles would be used to collect the blood of the beasts. The last place he had to visit was the inscription house, he wanted to buy information about some basic inscription diagrams, and some inscription tools used for inscribing. Wu Xing didn¡¯t know where to start so he asked the clerk of the shop what the best inscription pattern for beginners was. The clerk showed him a very complicated diagram that had hundreds of lines, and intersecting points. It was simply impossible to see where the start of the diagram was, and where the end was. The clerk told him that if he bought the diagram then the lines would be numbered so that he could see which line to start from, and which line to end with. The price of this beginner diagram was already very high, and Wu Xing even doubted if the clerk accidently added an extra zero. It cost a stunning 20.000 Credits, which was a lot considering that the rent of their house was also 20.000 Credits for a month. But he needed at least one diagram to practice so he could only bite his tongue as he paid the clerk. He also needed a tool for inscribing, but he was happy to hear that it only cost 500 Credits, and it could be used for a long time the clerk said. After he walked out of the shop he couldn¡¯t help but look at his bank account, and feel a deep pain in his heart after seeing how much he had to spend just for some basic equipment, and information. He didn¡¯t want to think about it anymore, and quickly closed his bank account before he headed to gate 11 to find the man called Lan Xiao. When he arrived at the gate he asked a guard to find Lan Xiao for him, the guard was very polite, and asked Lan Xiao to come. Wu Xing only had to wait for roughly 5 minutes before he saw a tall, and muscular old man with long hair, and a beard walk over. The man looked around 50, and when he saw Wu Xing he smiled politely before he asked ¡°I am Lan Xiao who might you be young man?¡±. Lan Xiao knew from experience that it was better to be overly polite to a nobody then to be rude to a somebody. Wu Xing quickly bowed and said ¡°Hello sir my name is Lin Xiu, Night Walker told me to come find you¡±. Lan Xiao was very surprised to hear the name *Night walker*, and he started to size up this young man in front of him. He noticed that the young man in front of him emitted a strong aura, and was very calm his eyes also looked to emit some kind of strange power. His body looked fit, but not overly muscular meaning that his body not only contained strength, but also speed, and flexibility. This young man in front of him didn¡¯t look any older than 20 but he already extruded such strong battle aura so he couldn¡¯t help but ask ¡°Lin Xiu how old are you this year?¡± Wu Xing calmly replied ¡°15 years old sir¡± Lan Xiao was shocked he had thought that Wu Xing was at least 18 years old, but to find out that he was only 15 years really made him speechless. *This old man Night Walker really has a good eye for talent* He silently thought. ¡°Good, good, come with me¡± he said. ¡°Yes sir¡± Wu Xing said before he followed Lan Xiao through the gates of gate 11. When Wu Xing was walking behind Lan Xiao he saw that Lan Xiao was busy with his wrist band. He kept seeing all kinds of profiles from people but he couldn¡¯t see what they were exactly. The only thing he noticed was that all their ages were between 18 and 20 years old. Lan Xiao finally stopped walking when they arrived at the information station outside of Gate 11. He talked to a couple of people before he looked back and asked ¡°Wu Xing, Night Walker told me his plan so do you already have a shield, and a sword with you?¡± Wu Xing was a little surprised, he was wondering why he needed a shield, and a sword but he remained calm, and said ¡°I only have a grade 1 sword in my wristband but no shield¡± Lan Xiao laughed out loud when he heard this and said ¡°Hahaha this Night Walker never changes always so sly, and cheap. He makes a plan, but I am the one he has to take care of everything in the end.¡± He grabbed a shield from a person nearby and threw it too Lan Xiao, and said ¡°catch! This is a basic grade 2 shield used by guards it¡¯s yours now.¡± Wu Xing was again surprised as he caught the shield, and asked ¡°Thank you sir, but what do I need a shield, and a sword for?¡± Lan Xiao heard this, and he couldn¡¯t help but smile, and say ¡°You can just call me old man Lan, I will be in charge of our hunting squat from today. Let¡¯s wait for the other first, and after everyone is here I will explain everything.¡± Wu Xing was surprised when he heard that he was going to be a part of a *hunting squat*, but the surprise only lasted for a moment. His grandfather always did everything for a reason so he just decided to accept the situation, and wait for the others before listening to the explanation. It didn¡¯t take long before he noticed 3 young man walking towards him, and Lan Xiao. The three young man all wore the same outfits, and surprising they all had ironite badges pinned on their jackets meaning they were all official grade1 hunters. Being able to become grade1 hunters at such a young age was really amazing. Lan Xiao also noticed the three young man, and couldn¡¯t help but let out a satisfied smile. The three young man walked up to Lan Xiao, and they all said ¡°good morning captain!¡± at the same time while they took a customary bow.
