《Demonic Descent》
Chapter: 1 Eloping Together
Night.
There was a young man, probably in his early twenties, busy writing something in a brightly lit room.
He was sitting at the copper-red study desk, holding onto a pen and writing something onto the paper after giving some thought.
The faint yellow light radiated by the candle reflected brightly off his blond hair onto his fair and handsome face. His name was Kael Strider.
Beep¡
Beep¡
The sound of notification on the phone distracted him from his study. Realizing it was already dark outside, so he checked his phone.
The message was from his girlfriend Sophia Lowell, but upon reading the content he was shocked at his very core.
''Today the Head of Hammer Pharmaceuticals proposed my marriage to his eldest son, Louise Hammer and my father accepted his proposal. He had already fixed the date of marriage as well, without my consent. I tried to change his decision but he won''t listen to me and my mother refused to consider anyone of lower social standing.''
''If you love me then come to the playground behind the college campus before midnight, we will elope together. We can change their point of view with time after the marriage. I will be waiting for you''
He and Sophia met each other through an online chat group. Though they first started as enemies, they eventually got to know each other and ultimately developed feelings towards each other.
But Sophia''s family background was worlds apart from his. Her family had reached a point where their assets had surpassed a massive number which was in the billions. So naturally, they would not hand over their only daughter to some unheard-of man such as him!
Even then, Kael Strider was not a poor and miserable nobody. He had a luxurious home, a few branded cars, and a few hundred thousand dollars in his bank account. In the eyes of regular women, he was what they would deem a bachelor with exceeding qualifications. Still, compared to the Lowell Family, there existed a huge gap between them.
With his efforts in vain, the elders of the Lowell Family treated him just as coldly. They almost chased him out of the house! The only thing that Sophia could do was to shed tears for him. She could never agree to this planned marriage on her own. She only resorted to eloping as there was no other method for them to be together.
After calming down, Kael changed his clothes and took his car keys before rushing out of the house. The author''s tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
*Honk...*
A faint horn sound could be heard floating in the night sky as if spirits were howling. But it also sounded like the low hum of a certain animal.
*Clang...*
A man with a tall and strong figure opened up the grass bushes in front of him. He looked left and right as he immediately tightened the black gun in his hand and walked forward.
The man was wearing a white body-hugging leather suit. He was also carrying a leather bag, his whole body covered with a layer of protective gear. On both sides of his waist, he carried two matte black holsters.
The moonlight shone down from the sky and fell onto the man''s back. Its light appeared in a faint, pale white color.
After realizing that there was nothing wrong with his equipment, the man continued to walk forwards.
However, there were countless men and women with robust build walking behind him in black suits that came out of the cars that followed behind the first car. They each carried a Bluetooth earpiece that blinked red.
"Do not let him get across," the man in white commanded.
"The task this time is very easy so, Young Master Louise doesn''t need to supervise it himself. My team members are all capable of capturing a normal alone, with all of us there is no way he could get away" An old man came to ''young master'' Louise.
"I know it''s overkill but I want to meet the person who dared to have his hand on something that I had my eyes on" he continued, "And it would not be any fun if he reached the playground behind the college campus"
"Everyone, take positions. Let''s finish the job without any hitch" the old man commanded others in a black suit.
In the playground behind the college campus, a tall beautiful girl was sitting on the bench giving an otherworldly aura.
The girl had her golden hair tied in a ponytail. Her skin was fair, her face as sharp as a knife and she gave off a British, glamorous vibe but this view had a major flaw and that was the fact that she was crying instead of smiling. There was a deep longing in her eyes with a mix of nervousness and anxiety.
Her name was Sophia Lowell, waiting here for her boyfriend, Kael Strider.
Soon, she was disturbed by noise from car engines as a lot of cars rushed towards her.
"No, how can they be here? I made sure that no one would find out about my escape from home" looking at numerous cars there was a look of anger and reluctance on her face, as a large number of guards surrounded her.
A mature woman walked towards her from one of the cars and answered "It was Young Master Louise, who contacted us about your whereabouts. It would be wise for you to follow us back, otherwise, we would have to use force as your father, Master Lowell has ordered us to break a few bones of that Kael Strider, if you refuse to come"
Kael was rushing towards the playground as fast as he could but due to the distance between his house and his destination, it took him almost an hour to reach the campus.
Just as he was about to take a turn towards the playground, a large SUV blocked his way. In his rush to reach there instead of waiting for the SUV to give way he ran out of his car towards the playground which was less than a kilometer away from here but before he could gain some speed something huge hit him in the back of his head and soon everything turned black as he lost his consciousness.
Chapter: 2 A Prayer To Change The Fate
Somewhere in the Andes mountain range, a helicopter lands on a snow-covered helipad that was in a state of disrepair. From it, a man with a tall and strong figure wearing a white leather jacket came out.
Soon he was greeted by his old butler who started nagging him the moment he saw him "Young Master Louise, it''s the day of your marriage, why are you here? You should have contacted me if you required something, instead of coming here yourself. If you are late for your wedding your parents would be very angry with you."
"Don''t worry Walter, I have asked my father for his private jet so I will reach the venue on time, so let''s see how my ''love rival'' is going to congratulate me on my wedding with his girlfr¡ I mean my fianc¨¦ Sophia" He replied to the old butler before walking off towards the building guarded by a large number of guards.
Kael Strider woke from his sleep, or better call it a nightmare, because of the sound of the Iron door opening. He knew it would be another day of torture for him.
"Hello there! Hehehe¡ I can see that you are in a bad situation here, ain''t ya?" Said the man who entered his room but upon hearing this voice, a chill went down his spine but he forced himself to calm down and started to wait for another ''torture session'' to begin but this man kept talking to him.
The man approached him and sat on a chair near his bed. He crossed his legs and said, "You must be wondering why I left my soon to be wife to come here before my wedding"
"Hmph, cut the bullshit!" Kael coldly said in a hoarse voice as he stared at his captor. He knew that Louise Hammer was adamant about marrying Sophia Lowell.
However, this was not because of his feelings towards her, it was due to the Lowell Family''s fortune.
Both Lowell and Hammer Families were massive figures in their respective industries. If they were to unite through marriage in the case of Sophia''s parent''s demise, Hammer Pharmaceuticals would be able to swallow the entirety of Lowell family business as Sophia was the only heir to the business empire.
Hearing this, Louise chuckled but his facial expression contained no intentions of humor.
He said coldly, "That bitch delayed the wedding for 4 months because she had to find you! Hmph! After the wedding, I shall go back and take really good care of her."
Kael went into a rage, he tried to pounce at Louise from the bed but he was stopped by the straps that kept him in place so he shouted, "If you even dare to lay your hand on a strand of her hair, I''ll kill you! I will kill every last one of your kin"Reading on this site? This novel is published elsewhere. Support the author by seeking out the original.
"Hahaha¡ not only will I be going to touch a strand of her hair, but I will also be going to mess her up, mess her up badly! That bitch slept with you several times, did she not? Then that bitch made me out to be a bad person!" Louise''s handsome countenance faded.
"Bastard!" Kael said in the same hoarse voice.
Louise scoffed and began the preparations for the ''session'' but he was interrupted by his butler Walter "Sir, please stop! Blood will stain your clothes, which will result in further delay. You can torture him after your wedding"
"Kael, this time I will not play with you but I will make sure you get to see the wedding of your girlfriend and how I play with her after that. Live!" He said coldly as he walked away along with the butler, leaving a crying Kael all alone.
He was captured and then tortured by Louise Hammer, the ''to be husband'' of his girlfriend Sophia Lowell before they could elope together.
It has been like that for months now, he stopped counting after passing the 100th day, he couldn''t even scream from pain anymore, as his throat was torn open during one of his ''torture sessions''.
He was given first-class medical treatment from the doctors here whenever he was at his last breath, they would treat him enough to save his life and then the sessions would start again until he was at his last breath or when his body would give him some relief in form of unconsciousness.
He tortured Kael in all kinds of ways, cutting, whipping, starving him for several days, and even forcing him to watch the video clips from his dates with Sophia just so he could see the look in his eyes when he was kissing her.
First, he was asking him why all this cruelty, but as the days went on, Kael knew that his begging and crying wouldn''t do him any good so he just turned into a mute, neither responding to her questions nor showing any reaction.
He just stopped wailing like a slaughtered pig and accepted his fate, yet the hatred and rage that dwelled within him kept growing every second.
In fact, he wanted to kill him in the worst possible way and pay back everything he had done to him until now, yet he knew that it was just wishful thinking.
He was never a religious man, he never believed in God.
Yet after all the time prayed, he was sure that if God existed he had already forsaken him, or just never cared at all. Kael was but an insignificant being to God, why would HE do anything to save him?
And so the hellish days continued and Kael''s rage only grew greater and greater until today. After some time a huge TV was placed in front of him by the guards which caused him to pray helplessly once again but this time he was not praying for someone to save him or for his death.
This time he was praying for revenge, he was willing to give up anything and everything to get his revenge.
At the same time, an asteroid was passing by Earth.
Unknown to everyone in the world when Kael started praying for revenge, the asteroid changed its trajectory and headed towards Earth, apparently to change the fate of one who prayed for it.
Chapter: 3 Adone
Outer Space
An asteroid was passing by Earth, but it suddenly changed its trajectory and headed towards Earth. The size of the asteroid was about the size of a small coffee table, small enough that it was not noticed by the scientists on Earth.
The stones and ice that made up almost all of the asteroids were burned up in the atmosphere due to friction only to reveal a black crystal ball the size of a basketball. Generally, even the strongest asteroid of such a small size would burn up completely in the atmosphere but this black crystal ball didn''t even turn red from the high temperature due to friction.
Passing through the upper part of the atmosphere, it suddenly accelerated. It was headed towards the Andes Mountain range on the continent of South America.
{NOTE- I previously typed North instead of South America} ¡¥\_(¥Ä)_/¡¥
Kael''s rage only grew greater and greater as he watched the proceedings of the wedding of his girlfriend Sophia and Louise. Unable to do anything to stop the proceedings, he just stayed there as he sobbed silently while praying for Louise to drop dead.
Just as the TV the scene showed Louise, as he was waiting for his bride at the altar while the guests had already taken their seats, an asteroid came crashing down on Kael, demolishing the roof of the building he was imprisoned in.
Before guards could react to the asteroid impact, tremors caused by the crash of the asteroid caused an avalanche that resulted in the whole building being covered up in the snow, sealing Kael and guards in an icy coffin.
Kael woke up from an intolerable pain in his chest, only to find himself in an empty throne room. When he looked down, he saw his chest which had a black crystal ball lodged in, then he slowly remembered about the asteroid that came crashing down.
''At last, I can rest in peace now but Sophia would have to suffer because I was not strong enough to protect her, nor was I rich enough to be with her with the blessing of her parents. I wasn''t even able to take care of my family¡..''
While he was dwelling on the regrets of his life, he saw a human-like figure appear out of thin air and stand in front of him, he couldn''t really distinguish the silhouette''s face, it seemed blurry, but maybe it was him being dizzy at his death bed and he just couldn''t see right, after all, there was a motherfucking crystal ball lodged in his chest, and he could barely stay conscious.
"Welcome to my Kingdom, as per your prayer we{1} brought you here, to enable you to take revenge and do much more and trust me when we say much more, it truly means much more" said the man, as he sat on the throne. You might be reading a stolen copy. Visit Royal Road for the authentic version.
Kael Strider thought that he was hallucinating, after all, how could this be possible? But this man kept talking to him emotionlessly.
"You are not hallucinating, all of this is real" the man replied in his same emotionless voice, implying that he could read his thoughts.
"Are you a God?" Kael asked as he looked at the man.
"No, I am still far from becoming a God but I am still capable of helping you that is if you are willing to pay the price" he replied.
Due to immense pain in his chest, Kael was unable to reply but he still looked straight at the man, signifying his attention towards this man''s words.
The man continued, "The price is your humanity and your future. We will grant you unimaginable strength but you have to fulfill our desire¡"
"I¡ I wi¡ will do anything ¡. as long as you give strength to kill that bastard and destroy everything he loved" Kael growled slowly while bearing the pain.
The man smiled as he approached him and extended his hand, suddenly, a blob of crimson red substance with purple lines in it appeared in his hand, he then said
"With our blood essence we will to give you a new life as a Chaos Demon, ruling over all as one of our descendent" and touched his chest where the black crystal ball was lodged with his palm, and just like that, Kael''s chest returned to normal.
He didn''t know how to describe it, but the crystal ball melted and merged with his chest along with the crimson red blob.
He felt no pain whatsoever throughout the entire process. Only a faint tattoo of the black sun with a face in it could be seen where the black crystal ball was lodged before.
"We guess you can call it some form of rebirth and, being the generous person that we are, we''ll let you keep your bloodline memory of the Chaos Ancestors.
However, nothing is free in this life, as a chaos demon, you must bear some responsibilities as well"
Kael stood there dazed for a second before looking at the man in front of him in disbelief. "What are you? And what did you do to me?" Kael asked after some time.
"Hahaha¡ you finally notice ehh? Good, good I am Adone, the Imperial Chaos Demon" said the man.
"No need to get anxious, I just said it, I''m Adone the Imperial Chaos Demon, I''m a Chaos Demon from the royal family of Chaos Empire, it''s complicated to explain and as we don''t have all the time in the world so we will let you see for yourself"
Before Kael could try to comprehend the whole demon thing Adone snapped his fingers and the entirety of the throne was replaced by a similar throne room but this throne room looked clean and majestic while the previous one was dilapidated.
A man with shoulder-length black hair with red hue on the ends and purple eyes with looks that were better than even the best lady killer, he sat on the throne giving majestic feeling as if he was the ruler of all that land eyes could see, but there was a problem with his looks and the problem was that there were two dark red horns on his head.
"He is my son," Adone said as he looked at the man on the throne solemnly as he stood beside Kael.
Chapter: 4 War in Hell
"He was my only son, Alexander, Emperor of the Chaos Empire" Adone said as he looked at the man on the throne solemnly.
Only then did Kael notice that the man on the throne was surrounded by a large number of humanoid creatures, some had pitch-black eyes, others had serpent-like tails growing from the back and few were similar to humans but Kael was sure they were not humans at all.
They were discussing something in a completely different language but Kael was able to understand it clearly after some time that they were ministers of Alexander''s court discussing the military actions of the kingdom.
"So you can tap into your bloodline memory of the Chaos Ancestors, not bad" Adone complimented before he continued to explain, "Bloodline memory of the Chaos Ancestors is the knowledge that every member of the Chaos demon race passes down to the next generation."
Alexander, who was silently listening to the reports of ministers while sitting on the throne suddenly stood up and rushed towards Kael Strider, before he could even blink his eyes Alexander passed through his body without any resistance what so ever.
"What was that?" Kael asked Adone.
"These are the memories that I have awakened in you so that I can see my people one last time and explain to you, your responsibilities as well" Adone said before snapping his fingers again.
It felt like he crossed an endless tunnel at a speed very close to that of infinity. He flew past the space filled with nothing but darkness, the light seeping into this space from such a long distance away slammed into him in an instant. After the blinding light dissipated away... Kael was greeted by the immense spectacle laid out before his eyes ¨C no, below him.
"Oh, my god...." was the only thing he could utter.
An army consisting solely of innumerable monsters stretched far beyond the scope of vision below him, with a few humanoid monsters supervising. From where he was, to all the way beyond the horizon. Countless monsters completely covered the ground until there was no uncovered patch left.
In all honesty, that was one hell of a terrifying sight to behold. If only a few of these monsters came to Earth, humanity wouldn''t have a chance in hell at winning against them. Just from seeing this, he felt his innards tighten as if he was having indigestion.
"Hold on... Where is this place, anyway?" It couldn''t have been Earth. He could see thin, tall, and bizarre-looking rocky outcroppings jutting out from here and there, on these reddish-brown dried up plains where not even a single blade of grass grew. This was a completely foreign landscape that he had never seen before. His eyes could catch the sight of the reddish-brown ground, those strange rock formations, and then, the great army of monsters standing on top of the said ground.
Kael shifted his gaze over to these monsters. This disparate gathering of monsters of different species was busy looking up and waiting for something to happen.
"What are they all looking at?" Kael followed after their gazes and raised his head to the sky above. And then... he discovered it.
"¡..!!"
He saw a pure white lake, quietly floating high up in the sky. No, it was not a lake. He mistook it for a lake because of its sheer size, it was a curtain of light. This curtain of light was blocking up the orange sky beyond it.
"Orange sky is it.....?" Seeing the color of the sky that should not exist, he became doubly sure that this was not Earth anymore. In a world that was not Earth, something major was about to happen between the monsters and that black hole.
"This is hell and those monsters below are the cannon fodder of armies of various empires in hell with some demon generals supervising them" Adone finally commented while looking at the scene below.
Kael unconsciously swallowed his saliva upon hearing this. Trapped within this eerie silence, his nervousness also increased as time went on.
"CRACK!"
What came out of the curtain of light were soldiers decked out in silver armor, with pure white wings attached to their backs. These silver-armored angels poured out of the curtain of light like agitated bees rushing out of the disturbed beehive. This text was taken from Royal Road. "Angels! Are they Angels?" Kael asked the question with an obvious answer.
Adone nodded as he silently watched the war below.
While monsters covered the entirety of the ground, these angels in turn utterly blotted out the sky. It was truly a spectacular sight. Kale couldn''t stop admiring this incredible view.
The monsters, however, thought rather differently. They began howling at the top of their lungs upon seeing the silver-armored angels covering the sky and began bucking around in agitation. He didn''t even have to be a genius to figure out what would happen next.
It was a war.
"Swahhh-!!" The flying angels became silver drops of light and descended to the ground below.
As it turned out, there was more than one curtain of light in the sky.
There were several of them, and angels poured out of them one after the other. Monsters on the ground versus the angels in the sky!! The two groups, clearly burning with hostile intentions against each other, soon collided just above the ground.
A battle of indescribable scale and proportion unfolded next.
"ROAR¡!"
The beastly roars of the monsters shook the land below.
And
"Vuoooo¡!"
Horns being blown away by the silver-armored angels thunderously resounded out. Weapons collided with other weapons, the sounds of armors shattering noisily rang out.
The beastly roars soon morphed into screams and pained groans. The ground below was steadily being dyed the color of blood.
The superiority in this battle was established very quickly. The silver-armored angels were very powerful.
These guys easily sliced off the necks of the monsters that were strong enough to rip high-ranked Hunters apart with their bare hands. Such powerful beings had formed a massive invading group, so perhaps it was only inevitable that the monsters were being swept away. The balance was tilting noticeably in their favor.
Even then, silver-armored angels continued to pour out of the circular curtain of light non-stop. The waves upon waves of silver angels came crashing forward as the incoming tide, erased all traces of living monsters off the dry plains in no time at all.
"Kuwahk!"
"Kiehk!"
The war began as a fierce clash between the two forces, but has now descended into a blood-soaked massacre, instead. The swords and spears of the silver angels knew no mercy. Because of that, the number of monsters decreased quite rapidly.
Kael watched this scene of the horrifying monsters being killed off with little to no resistance and was overcome with a puzzling mixture of emotions.
''Am I mourning all those angels who lost their lives to these monsters, or am I feeling rueful for monsters being massacred just like that....?'' Such trivial thoughts remained in his head for only a short while.
The truly extraordinary event only happened afterward, with the complete annihilation of the monsters mere moments away...
The silver angels of the sky that violently pushed their enemies back suddenly stopped moving one at once.
"What''s going on? Could they possibly have developed a sense of pity for these monsters now, of all times? But there was just no way. If they do, then they shouldn''t be gripping their weapons even tighter like that."
They were gripping their weapons so hard, in fact, their hands were beginning to tremble noticeably, too. On top of that, the emotions filling up the faces of these silver angels were as far from the ones of compassion as you could get. No, they were filled with terror.
Their collective gazes were focused in a certain direction. And that was somewhere behind him. Kael suddenly had a hunch. He felt that something extraordinary was about to happen behind him, one amazing enough to overturn this situation on its head.
However, his gaze didn''t immediately look behind him, but instead, to the ground below. On top of this reddish-brown land, a black mist was spreading out.
This mist rapidly spread beyond the blood dyeing the land red, as well as the mountains of corpses.
"Ah...!"
"Ah¡ Ahh¡!"
¡..
As the mist sped past underneath these corpses, mysterious screams could be heard. Screams that no one could tell where they were coming from.
A powerful chill ran down Kael''s spine immediately. He slowly, agonizingly slowly, turned his head around to take a look. There he found an impressive knight covered in jet-black armor from his head right down to his toes.
From this knight, and the horse he was riding on, the black ghostly strands of energy continuously rose up. Kael could think of only one person when looking at that black knight.
"Alexander," he muttered unconsciously.
Whether it was the silver-armored angels from the sky, monsters below, they all forgot to breathe and simply stared at this Emperor of Chaos Empire.
Every single gaze within this battlefield was now looking at only this black knight.
The Emperor glared at the Angels in the sky, before extending his hand out as if he wanted to grasp something.
Kael could see the sight of the silver-armored angels wince as they started to back away in fear. The intolerable stillness that stifled one''s breaths pressed down on the shoulders of every single being under the heavens.
And soon... The Emperor''s solemn voice shattered that stillness.
"Devour"
Chapter: 5 Truly Horrifying Warfare
"Devour"
The ripple generated from this word spread out at a frightening speed and roused up the mist.
The battlefield dyed in the colors of monsters'' blood roiled and tumbled in black waves.
"Ahh¡.!"
"Ahhh¡.!"
...
The injured monsters and angels on the ground surrounded by the black mist roared out in what could have been screams of horror and anguish. They then turned into dry corpses like husks before turning into ashes.
As for the silver angels in the skies, the scene before them was worthy of sending cold shivers down their spines. Too bad for them, the Emperor''s powers didn''t stop there.
"Woo¡!"
The Emperor bellowed heavily towards the skies. That powerful roar didn''t attack the eardrums of the listeners but directly shook their hearts, instead. Hearts, legs, and even the ground shook from his roar. The land began crying in its response.
Kael didn''t need a lot of time to figure out what that roar was meant for. Because¡ the black mist rose up high and surrounded the angels.
Just that single roar alone and the black mist transformed this battlefield completely. From this corner of the land, all the way to the other side ¨C the dead angel husks instantly starting to fall from the sky.
Kael had been quietly observing the process while holding his breath. A powerful shudder ran through his entire body from the combined roars of the angels.
If this scene was supposed to demonstrate the true pinnacle of the Chaos Demons, then it certainly succeeded in letting him know just how much power they held in their grasps.
Eventually, the angels in the other parts of the sky stopped hesitating and began moving again. They gathered into one large mass, and, like a gigantic swarm of bees, descended on the black mist surrounding Alexander.
However, it was all in vain. The angel army and the black mist got tangled up on top of this expansive land. Explosions rang out constantly, and the ground quaked over and over again. The battle that should have ended as a one-sided massacre reverted to full-on warfare.
Just the entrance of a single individual had changed everything. Now, this was a display of truly shocking power.
Kael didn''t know why this scene was being shown to him, but he found himself unable to tear his eyes away from it.
The violent, fierce and suicidal clash continued. A desperate and bloody engagement, incomparably fiercer and more violent than the first battle that took place, unfolded before his eyes but the angels were unable to cross the black mist.
"Oh, well, the truly terrifying thing about this black mist is the fact that it helps us Chaos Demons to devour anything in this world and convert it into power that strengthens us, that''s why no matter how many angels do kamikaze attacks, it''s all strengthening their opponent, Alexander" Adone explained.
Kael tore his eyes away from these angels and took an overview of the entire battlefield and its situation. The battle taking place between the angels in the sky endlessly pouring out from the curtains to light in the air, and the black mist expanding under the orders of the Alexander, was incredibly even.
As the black mist expanded and more angels poured out of the curtains to light to match the number of the dead.
''So is this what a war in hell looks like?''
Horrifying warfare that a human''s intuition couldn''t even properly tell what would happen next breathlessly continued in this vast land. However, the balance between these two opposing sides broke in a single instant. The flow of the war shifted very quickly when Alexander stopped using black mist from far back and personally stepped forward to enter the fray with his demonic army clad in black armor.Stolen content warning: this tale belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences elsewhere.
The black horse carrying the Emperor dashed into the battlefield. Whenever he swung his sword, thousands of enemy troops fell to create a pathway. And the dead enemies, without exception, became his nutrients, as they were devoured by the mist.
Just one flick of the Emperor''s sword and all those enemy angels flying away to safety had their wings broken and they all crashed back down to earth.
The area the Emperor and his army dashed through got utterly swept away as if a storm rampaged past there. For the first time since the two opposing camps started clashing their weapons ¨C the angels in the sky were being forced back.
Hundreds of thousands, no, millions of silver-clad angels couldn''t deal with him and were constantly pushed back.
Kale could only gasp out in admiration at this marvelous spectacle. He thought that the war would come to an end like this.
However...
Just as the Emperor began pushing back the tides of the silver angels in the sky, an ominous, eerie wind that was hard to describe in words blew in from somewhere behind him.
Auras powerful enough to send a shudder down his spine rushed in. Emperor Alexander temporarily disregarded the enemies to his front and looked behind him.
Two ginormous curtains of light had been generated in someplace far behind the mist.
Their sizes didn''t lose out to the ones floating up in the air. And from these two curtains of light, two disparate groups of monsters poured out in droves.
On one side, beast-type creatures are being led by a Lion the size of a mountain. And from the other one, knights and soldiers rushed out with countless banners proudly announcing their clans being waved about in their midst.
Kael''s eyes grew wider and wider.
"Huh...?"
"These are the armies of demonic clans of Carreau''s, Carnivale''s, Oeillet''s, Rosier''s, and even Rosier''s. Those crests belonged to the aristocratic clans of demons that were part of the Empire of Chaos but they betrayed us and joined the war against Chaos Demons partnering up with the Demonic beasts and Archangels of
Heaven," Adone explained again.
The beasts and the demons began attacking the Black-armored soldiers together as if they had a prior agreement. The backline of the Black-armored Soldiers was immediately torn to shreds from the combined assault of the two monster armies.
That wasn''t the end, however. Their front was occupied by the angels in the sky, still alive and ready to battle. These silver-clad beings changed their strategy and began striking back once more. The soldiers of the sky to the front and armies of beasts in the back surrounded the Black-armored Soldiers in a pincer attack and closed in on them. The flow of the battle had changed once more.
Kael''s gaze slowly shifted towards the Emperor, Alexander changed the direction of his mount away from the army in the sky and towards his rear.
His black horse kicked to the ground and rushed forward. The ensuing battle was truly intense.
Corpses formed mountains.
Blood formed oceans.
This conflagration called ''war'' created by countless soldiers swallowed up every single life form still standing on this land and continued on its horrific path of destruction. But, even then ¨C this stubbornly persistent battle that didn''t seem to end was slowly marching towards its inevitable conclusion. Not too many remain standing on the battlefield now.
The Emperor, Alexander, lost his mount during the battle. He wasn''t hindered in the least, however. He cut down two demon knights blocking his path and stood before the demon in command of the armies of aristocratic clans of demons previously under him, breathlessly panting away as it leaned against a bizarre rock formation.
The demon''s face was hidden behind its helm, but Emperor Alexander seemed to know its identity as he glared down at his feeble prey.
"We could have ended the war with angels today but, why did you betray me?" Emperor Alexander asked.
The demon weakly faltered its head, but it forced himself to look up. It had already suffered grievous wounds and it seemed unlikely it''d be able to survive its injuries. "So.... regrettable. We could have ended you for good today, but...."
The voice coming out from beneath the helm sounded precariously close to being cut off.
Emperor Alexander''s voice became even icier as he asked again "I said, why did you betray me?"
The demon''s shoulders trembled as it painfully cackled before it raised its head again. And then, it tried to say something.
"I...."
But before the demon could say something he was killed by a silvery-white light that came out of the curtain of light and stabbed him in the back.
Only after the demon''s body collapsed lifelessly on the floor was Kael able to see that the silvery light was an angel and it had six pair of silver wings on his back, unlike others who only had a pair of them.
"It''s an Archangel" Adone introduced.
Soon, the battle between the twelve winged Archangel and Emperor Alexander started.
It was easy for even a normal human, like Kael to understand that Emperor Alexander had an upper hand in the fight but just as Alexander was beginning to force the twelve winged Archangel back three more silver lights rushed towards him from his right, left and back.
Before he could see what the result was, he felt the same feeling of crossing an endless tunnel at a speed very close to that of infinity.
Chapter: 6 Legacy of Rage
It was similar to his previous experience as he flew past the space filled with nothing but darkness, the light seeping into this space from such a long distance away slammed into him in an instant. After the blinding light dissipated away Kael was greeted by the same dilapidated throne room.
"What happened? What happened to Alexander? And why did these aristocratic clans of demons betray the Empire of Chaos?" Kael asked all the questions, which he had while watching the war. He didn''t ask them during the war because he was afraid that he would miss something.
"Instead of asking these questions shouldn''t you be asking something else?" Adone asked.
"Like¡ like what was the cause of this war?" Kael said.
"Or, why were there so many angels in hell?" Adone then explained "This war was fought to gain the right to enter the Ancient Temple where first being of hell attained Apotheosis, and the person who gained apotheosis was the goddess of death. Or this was the reason that they told the public but the real reason was to gain the treasure that helped the Goddess attain apotheosis"
"But there was a problem with the activation of core region where the treasure was kept as it required a large number of sacrifice of souls, so royal families of the top seven empires in hell that are also the families of the seven most powerful beings, at Devil Master level in hell, came together to decide the course of action."
"Alexander represented me as one of the eleven Devil Master level powerhouses and proposed the idea that we should gather all the low-level monsters in our armies and use them as sacrifices but the Divine Beast Empire''s Suanni Lion, one of our longtime opponent was against it. Due to consent from other Devil Master experts, he was unable to do anything other than silently go along with our decision"
"But unknown to us, the Empire of Light, in heaven discovered the truth about the ancient temple and the treasure. They also found that the number of sacrifices that would be required would be in billions, if not in tens of billions of souls"
"So, the angels being the haters of demons as they are thought of using an entire empire of demons as a sacrifice, to get their hands on the treasure and they found their perfect target and that was Chaos Empire"
"...."-Kael.
"Yes, the Chaos Empire was their target as Chaos Demons, the rulers of the empire had too little population and the rest of the empire was filled with other races. So, it was easy for them to tempt some of the aristocratic clans of demons to betray the Empire of Chaos and they aligned themselves with the Divine Beast Empire."This novel is published on a different platform. "When, I was waiting for the activation of entrance of the core region along with other Devil Masters, they used the fact that the Ancient temple blocks all forms of outside communications to lay an ambush for my son Alexander while he was fending off against army of angels that were marching towards the Chaos Empire along with armies of Divine Beast Empire and various aristocratic clans of demons."
"While their leader Archangel Master Augusta led an attack on us Devil Masters with his Archangels just as we found the treasure that was surrounded by black gasses. So we Devil Masters decided to partner up to defeat him together before fighting for the treasure ourselves but Devil Master Dylin, the Suanni Lion backstabbed me at the last moment just before we could defeat Augusta and made a run for the treasure"
" But just as he touched the treasure it revealed its true appearance. It was a Black Crystal Ball but soon after the contact, the treasure started to absorb Dylin''s life force, apparently, the amount of sacrifice was still not enough for the treasure. The treasure was so strong that Dylin had to amputate his hand to save himself before he escaped the concentrated barrage of attacks from the other five Devil Masters.
The other Devil Masters were unable to solve the problem of sacrifice and left the temple to find more sacrifice for the treasure, after capturing half dead Archangel Master Augusta"
"But only after coming out of the temple was I able to understand the real price that took to open the place where the treasure was kept. My whole race was exterminated by the armies of the Empire of Light and Divine Beast Empire because we were betrayed by the people and families that we trusted."
"The death toll reached 13.2 Billion for Demons, 4.6 Billion for Monsters and 6 billion for Angels totaling about 23.8 billion deaths. Of them, tens of thousands of Chaos Demons died, while a few that were not in the empire were hunted down by Divine Beast Empire."
"Due to serious injuries from my fight with Dylin, I was unable to protect myself, let alone fight for the protection of members of my race. So in order to not waste the sacrifice of my race, I tried to find a way to utilize the treasure Black Crystal Ball in my last days in hell, to leave a legacy behind so that people could carry the rage of the entire race and restore our race to its peak glory"
"And then I found that only a person, that had died from due to this treasure before, could use this treasure, while others would simply be absorbed by it and even this method was not a guaranteed success " Adone completely explained everything to Kael with teary eyes as his facial features were slowly revealed to him.
"So, it was because of you that the ball was lodged into my chest¡.. But does that mean I am dead?" Kael asked.
"Umm¡ yeah, technically you are dead but my powers are keeping your soul intact while my blood essence is slowly recreating your body to speed up your Rebirth as a Chaos Demon"
"So, why did you choose me? Why not someone of your own race?" Kael asked.
"The survivor of my race are either turned into slaves or are being hunted down, so they don''t have the space to grow as well as the potential danger is very high and they would be easily tracked by forces of heaven if they left hell" Adone told Kael his reason for coming for material world before continuing "And I choose you of all people because you have determination as well as will to take action and you were willing to let me in by praying to me and offered to do whatever I say"
Chapter: 7 My Blood Will Remember
"My blood essence will turn you into a Chaos Demon. Which technically makes you my son and the ruler of Chaos Demons after I am gone. Come, this will be of help to you" Adone said before walking towards the throne and gesturing him to sit on the throne.
Kael hesitated for a second before following the instructions and started walking towards the throne, just as he sat on the throne Kael felt as if his whole body was on fire while his brain was placed in a freezer.
He wanted to scream on top of his voice because of pain but he was unable to do so, he was not even able to move his eyelids or breathe but surprisingly he didn''t feel suffocated at all.
"The throne will preserve your soul while turning it from a mortal soul into a Chaos demon''s soul. All you need to do is wait for your body to completely reconstruct, then the throne will automatically send you back to your planet in the material world" said Adone before vanishing from the throne.
"There are people after me, so I cannot stay with you for long or they might find you. Remember that everything you require is in the bloodline memory of our ancestor who reached Apotheosis"
Kael just stared at the place where Adone stood before he vanished as he heard the voice, while he was tortured by the unbearable pain but what he didn''t know was the fact that this changing of his soul would change his personality as well.
Near the outer region of Material World.
A large number of golden figures were rushing towards a shrouded man, and soon they surrounded him.
"You should be aware of the fact that no being of Hell or Heaven at or above Devil or Archangel level is allowed in the boundaries of the material world or are you trying to start a war with the Great Council?" an old man in monk robes and golden skin shouted at the shrouded man.
Surprisingly, all the figures were wearing yellow monk robes similar to the old man and had similar but duller golden skin.
"I am aware of it but I am short on time, so I am unable to take a detour around your territory," the shrouded man said emotionlessly as he released some of its power.
"Then let us escort your esteemed self" The old man changed his attitude towards him immediately upon sensing the power that was being released, while a scared look appeared on his face but it was immediately hidden behind his smile.
The shrouded man nodded before he flew away in space and the golden figures followed him.
This shrouded man was Adone, who was returning to hell to try to take revenge on his own and protect members of his race, those that had managed to stay hidden, along with those that were enslaved, to ensure another method for the continuation of his race.
Days after days passed by but Kael was unable to differentiate the difference between day and night in the throne room and soon he became depressed by thinking about his family and his girlfriend but he was unable to see them while he was stuck here. So all he can do is try to sleep and forget about everything else.
Soon days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months, but Kael was unaffected by the passage of time. The author''s tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
In Hell
A girl in her teens was running as fast as possible while panting profusely. There was a group of ugly looking demons with grey skin, green eyes and a mouth full of jagged teeth wearing only animal skins that were chasing her.
"Why are you, the low lives of the Stone Demon race after me?" Apparently, she was unaware of the fall of the Chaos Empire as she was searching for resources on the Abyssal Continent, near the outskirts of the Green Abyss forest for almost half a year.
Chaos Empire was located on the Dis Continent, in the central region of Hell, the distance between the continents and the lack of major settlements on Abyssal
Continent protected her from pursuers of Chaos demons all this while as well as kept her in the dark about the fall of the Chaos Empire.
But slave traders from the Stone Demon race got wind of her as she tried to find a way back to Dis Continent and pursued her for about half a day.
"Whoever managed to capture her, would get to enjoy her after the young lord is bored playing with¡." A tall Stone Demon shouted but before he could even complete his sentence his head exploded into blood mist.
Before the other Stone Demons could react their heads exploded as well as a hazy figure landed in front of the girl.
"Come with me," Adone told the girl before flying away with her, but his path was blocked by Dylin, in his humanoid form just as he was about to return.
"Where are you running off to? Hand me the secret techniques of Chaos Ancestor and all of the treasures from your secret treasury and I will let you live" Dylin said scornfully.
"Die..." Without wasting any second, Adone lunged at him while making sure to give enough space to the female chaos demon to retreat, but his attack was blocked by Dylin''s palm.
"You think you would be able to fight me head-on, all alone" Dylin mocked Adone as he knew that Adone was on his death bed due to his sneak attack in the Ancient Temple, in which he used the special knife ''Evil Banisher'' capable of easily slaying any Devil[1] level being of Hell that was given to him by Archangel Augusta.
Adone knew he was not a match for Dylin so he used the most powerful attack to make a gap between them so that he could retreat with the teenage Chaos demon.
"Chaotic Strike"
A large amount of black mist came out of his body that wrapped around his leg as he kicked Dylin on his chest but before the kick could reach Dylin''s face, it was blocked by his hand which had turned into a claw.
Adone used the rebounding force from his attack to rush towards the retreating teenage girl and hugged her before trying to fly away but instead of rushing away madly, he stopped and looked down in disbelief towards the teenage Chaos demon.
There was a dagger stabbed directly in his heart and purple lines were spreading from where the dagger was stabbed to towards the rest of his body. Meanwhile, the face of the girl started to melt away, soon a new mature face was revealed in its place along with the change in skin which turned from red to pale white and hairs turned into silver from black.
"Trina, Chaos Demons never offended you or Blood Demon race, so why are you with him?" Adone said in disbelief.
"Of course, I came because he offered me some of his blood in advance as well as all of yours along with your essence and half of the core," she said as a matter of factly.
Adone gritted his teeth before his body started to bulge and upon seeing the changes in his body an ominous sensation filled both Trina and Dylin as they started to retreat together as if having a tactic understanding.
"MY BLOOD WILL REMEMBER THIS BETRAYAL. NOW, LET''S DIE TOGETHER" Adone roared madly towards the sky.
"Krakoom¡"
A massive shockwave burst out of his body that instantly vaporized everything in the thousand-mile radius of him along with his body, causing destruction in a ten thousand mile radius.
The fate of Trina and Dylin was unknown.
Chapter: 8 New Beginning
In the dilapidated throne room, Kael felt intense pain and a sense of loss when he heard Adone''s voice in his head "MY BLOOD WILL REMEMBER THIS BETRAYAL. NOW LET''S DIE TOGETHER"
Kael felt a lot of foreign memories that were not his, appearing out of nowhere in his head, he knew that these were the Bloodline memories of Adone, who just passed away.
He felt a sense of loss as if he had lost someone close to him at the same time he was angry at the perpetrators of this incident.
Kael also became aware of the circumstances of Adone''s death upon slowly analyzing his memories.
As well as the fact that though Adone was seriously injured by Dylin, it was the act of separating a large amount of Blood essence for Kael that weakened him so much that he was easily killed by two Devil Masters that were on the same level of cultivation as Adone.
The reason for such actions was because Adone did not wish to see the sacrifice of his entire empire would go to waste or with the resources of the whole empire at his disposal, he could easily return to his peak form by utilizing, his devouring ability of Chaos demons.
Kale then tried to analyze more memories that appeared but he felt a throbbing pain in his head when he tried to know more than that, so he was forced to stop.
As time passed quickly, the day when Kael''s body was completely reconstructed finally came.
Kael was thinking about his parents when he lost his sense of sight and hearing abruptly at the same time he felt was a cold, an intense cold as if he was submerged in freezing river water.
After some time, he gained his sense of hearing as he heard the sound of whistling above him. So tried to move his body towards the sound but found that the movement of his body was restricted by something.
He tried to force his way through the material that was restricting him with all his might before he managed to open a small hole above him with his hands, from which light came down illuminating his surroundings.
"What the fuck!" That was all Kael could say as he peeked outside from the hole.
The wind was whistling loudly around the hole as it harshly pelted the surroundings with thick, white snow. This site could be considered cool for those who lived in the tropics, but for Kael, this was his graveyard.
With his eyes open, Kael could see only thick piles of snow around him as well as above him, and to his dismay, the height of these snow piles only continued to increase as time went on.
This sight managed to shake off Kael''s happiness of finally being able to move, as he began to feel scared for his life.
"Damn it! It''s too cold here," Kael growled as he forced himself up from his icy grave through the hole after widening it a bit.Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on Royal Road.
But just as he managed to pull himself out of his snow grave, he saw the surrounding area that was a snow laden land with tall mountains all around him.
"From the looks of it, there is no way that I can get out of this area all alone without someone to help me," Kael thought to himself as he let out a cold sigh.
At this point, Kael knew that there was no way out for him without a guide or GPS.
"Grouwl¡" Kael held his stomach that was showing his resistance due to hunger.
"I need to find something to eat before trying to get out of here or I will collapse from hunger" he thought to himself as he looked down at his own body which was covered in ragged clothes caked in his own blood, the color of skin on both of his hands had turned red just like Alexander''s which shocked him to his very core.
"Paff, paff."
But before Kael could get used to the fact that his skin was red and maybe there were horns on his head as well, he suddenly heard the sound of footsteps on the snow.
This surprised Kael so much that he was unable to react in time, so he looked toward the source of the sound, and what he saw made him scared.
He saw an armed guard walking towards him, even if his surroundings were covered by white snow, Kael could still clearly see the guard from a distance of around 300 meters in a snowstorm as well hear his footsteps.
"He''s from Hammer Pharmaceuticals" Kael was sure of himself as he spent months in there ''care'', so he tried to hide but before he could find a place to hide in this white expanse, he suddenly heard a scream.
"Monster!" the guard stood in a daze but he soon reacted like a trained professional by aiming his hand gun at Kael.
Kael''s eyes opened wide with shock as he realized that it was the guard who was about to shoot him, so he tried to snatch the gun from the guard, after rushing up to him.
{WARNING: GORY SCENE AHEAD, SOFT HEARTS SHOULD SKIP A LINE}
Instead of snatching the gun from his hands, he ripped out the guard''s hands along with the hand gun.
"Ahhhh¡." The guard wailed like a slaughtered pig.
"I am so sorry, I just wanted to snatch your gun that you were aiming at me. I didn''t know it would result in this. Let me help you, stop the bleeding" Kael panicked first then he tried to help the guard but just as he took a step towards the guard, he started to shout.
"MONSTER!!! SOMEONE SAVE ME¡"
"Don''t worry, I only want to HELP you" Kael emphasized on word help as he tried to stop the man from shouting as it would attract more guards from Hammer Pharmaceuticals who would mistake him for a monster or if they find out his identity they may capture him for new ''sessions''.
"NO¡ NO¡ DON''T COME NEAR ME!!!" the guard screamed as he backed away.
{WARNING: GORY SCENE AHEAD, SOFT HEARTS SHOULD SKIP TWO LINES}
Hearing him scream even louder, Kael tried to cover his mouth, but just as Kael put his hand on the guard''s mouth.
"Crack" the mouth caved in, like a molten wax sculpture killing him on the spot

Upon seeing the gruesome scene of the brutally mangled face and ripped limbs, Kael wanted to throw up but fortunately, he was too hungry to do that.
Just then a warm current came from his hand, before dividing into two streams of warm current, one traveled towards his chest while the other towards his head.
He heard a sound in his head as the warm current reached his head and something appeared in his vision.
Chapter: 9 Divine Apostle
*Ding*
He heard a sound in his head when the warm current reached his head from his hand and a translucent screen with some text on it, appeared in his vision.
Congratulations on becoming a Divine Apostle
''It still feels like the gruesome scene along with all this demon stuff has finally caused some mental trauma'' Kael thought to himself.
But some new text appeared on the screen.
This System will help your God/ Goddess in supporting your growth as their Divine Apostle while also helping you serve your God/ Goddess more effectively

Please pass the trial of acceptance given by the High Goddess of Death, Nebthet for becoming her official Apostle, failing to comply with the System''s instructions will result in your death and annihilation of your soul.
The last part of the text sent chills down his spine, though he didn''t understand what the ''annihilation of the soul'' was, he knew that it was something equal to death or worse.
"I should deal with this guard and get out of here before thinking about all this stuff" Kael started to drag the body towards the hole from which he came, then he placed it in the hole along with its hands and covered the hole with snow, after searching for anything useful on the body.
He found a pack of cigarettes along with a lighter and an energy bar, which he gingerly stuffed into his mouth and consumed it whole in a couple of bites.
"At least I won''t have to struggle against hunger for some time and think of getting out of here" Kael mumbled as he walked in the direction from which the guard came.
He only managed to cover less than twenty meters, when he was confronted with a small group of guards dressed similar to the previous guard, who started to shoot him with their hand guns on first sight of him.
''Fuck! Were they alerted by the guard''s screams'' Kael thought to himself as he tried to protect his head from bullets with his head while shouting "I AM NOT A MONSTER"
However, the firing didn''t stop, instead, it became more accurate as one bullet hit him in his right leg.
"Ahhh¡." Kael wailed like a slaughtered pig due to pain but the pain was less than what he expected from a bullet wound so he looked down only to find a hole in his tattered pant from which his red skin could be seen that had turned purple due to impact from bullet but the bullet didn''t manage to pierce his skin.
"I am bulletproof. Heheheheh¡.." Kael started to laugh manically upon this discovery, much to the horror of guards who stopped shooting.
"He is a monster, run¡"A Guard shouted and the whole group started running away.
*Ding*
Kael laughter came to an abrupt end upon hearing this sound.

Kael raised his head.
He just looked at the text on the screen for some time and the quest window spread out before his eyes.

Kael''s eyes opened wider.
''To complete the trial quest, all of the guards must die?''
Kael hesitated as he was not a cold blooded killer. Yes, he wanted to skin Louise Hammer alive and finish him off but that was because of his hatred towards him but these guards didn''t do anything to him.
Though he wanted to beat them for shooting at him, that was all, after all, he wasn''t hurt.
"Hello Jerry, it''s me, Matt, send all the men that are available at the base, there is a red fucking monster after us. Order them to come with rifles, bullets from hand guns don''t harm him" A guard who was the farthest from him took a radio handset from his backpack and started asking for help.
Just then the text on the screen changed.

''Kill if I don''t want to be killed, is that it?''
The content was pretty shocking, but Kael''s fluster didn''t remain for long as if all his hesitation was slowly being pulled out of him. Soon, his flustered mind morphed into one of calmness. He even found it hard to believe, but that was the truth.
There was fear that lingered in his mind as well, and then his Stats values popped up in front of his eyes.
