《The last Human》 Prologue With all their might, San and Handa started running away. While caring their son, the despair and urgency was evident within their eyes. Employing profound movement techniques, the couple reached supersonic speeds, yet it was all futile. "Surrender, you have no way out" said a man running behind them. He shortened the distance between them very fast. But the couple was not ready to surrender, doing their best to still escape from the man. But suddenly another man appeared in front of them. "Do no resist us and we''ll leave your corpses intact" said the second one with a voice filled with contempt. He hoped they would resist so he could enjoy later a exciting time with them. "Han SenLing, why did you turn on us, we never offended you!" said Handa indignant. They had always had enemies, yet somehow in the recent decade the hunt of the couple grew many times. "Where there''s money, there''s a path. The bounty on your bloodline is huge. You should know why." Handa and San knew very clearly the reason. ¡®Humanity has fallen this low already, quenching their thirst with poison.'' "But enough now, just kill them" said the first one. Taking his saber out he unleashed his most powerful attack, because he knew very well the tremendous power of this couple. The second one also toke his spear out and attacked the couple. Feeling the power behind those strikes, the couple instantly created a barrier around them, protecting their son. Yet, having used their strongest attacks the two men strikes shattered the barrier and struck the couple. Both of them went flying for a few meters, before slamming into the earth and coughing a mouthful of blood. If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it''s taken without permission from the author. Report it. "He has to survive; we can''t let him die." The women, San, wasn''t willing to let her son die, insanity evident in her already crazed eyes. "Are you ready for the cost?" "I am" Noticing the conversation between both of the couple, SenLing and the other man, swift attack again to disrupt whatever they had in mind. Anticipating the trio''s death and the bounty, both of their eyes started to brighten. ¡®I will buy as many women and delicacies as I want, enjoying the life.'' One of them already started to plan for the money he would get. He thought so until he saw, that the trio started to blurry and give out an ethereal feeling. Causing the attacks to pass right true them, without damaging them. "What the¡." SenLing began to swear but couldn''t understand what happened. He looked the other one in the eyes, seeing the same confusion in his eyes. "They truly did it, I can''t believe it" said a voice behind them with surprise and shock. Another man had appeared behind them, dressed totally blue with a rose on his chest, showing his sect. The same as on both the other men, except that both of them were in orange showing their inferiority. "Master, what did they do?" asked SenLing with curiosity. "They used an ancient teleport technique, which takes as fuel both of their souls, extinguishing them of life forever. It is said that neither some legendary lifesaving treasures nor going back in time can save them." Explained the master with still some shock lingering. "It is posible to go back in time and resurrect a dead body?" asked the other man with more shock about the fact than the disappearance of the couple. "Never heard of legends, doings that supposedly existed? How you became so powerful while being so stupid is mystery itself." said the master with sarcasm. I.1. The beginning "What up with the people nowadays, the orphans seem to grow on trees.", the man wondered. Yet, he agreed to the answer "Well, the allure of love no one can oppose.". Both men were talking in a big room with two windows to the South and East. Two shelves packed with books, about one-tenth ever been read, existing with the sole reason to give a cultured impression. Also a wooden desk, which had many decorative traits, having cost a fortune with a corresponding chair. Also, the room contained two paintings on the grey stone wall. The first man who spoke standing in front of the desk and the other sitting behind in the chair. "So, about the new kid we brought in today, what name will he get?" one asked. "Monat, I''m so tired of giving names¡ I''ll give him yours, his name shall be Monat!" the other one responded annoyed. "Ranbert, come on man, what''s going on? You seem to be very stressed. But it gives me an idea, his name will be Mane", the one with the name of Monat responded with plainly showing false concern. "You just laugh¡" answered Ranbert. With that, the name of the boy was decided and added to the records of the orphanage. A place filled with hope and care where the maids did the best they could for the kids. Having in mind the delicate nature of the children of the age of 5 and under. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The orphanage was a place for children of the streets. Its reputation was very high among the population of the region. It never had requested money, very to the liking of the wealthy men. Always respectful to visitors and the care showed to kinds was very obvious. Never had an incident of child abuse or similar. Even doe it seemed it had a good reputation, some rumors were spreading among the housewives and some bored people. For the first, the children brought in couldn''t be older than one and a half years, something no outsider knew how to detect, but the response of the orphanage was always correct. The other aspect was the money, the orphanage was thrifty, but even so, the amount spent was big, especially the nutritive food and care tools, so it was wondered where the money came from. And lastly, they only housed children up to five years old. Curious however was that no child was ever seen again in the region with an age above five. Supposedly given to foreign people. This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere. Yet all of this didn''t matter to Mane, the 1-year-old child. For in his mind his only concern was his hunger, but the problem presented itself in the form of nighttime. Everybody slept already, but he had hunger. So going by someinstinctual reasoning along the lines of ¡®I cry, I attention¡ I attended, I cry, I food¡ I food, I no hunger'', of course properly translated to readable words. So, with great determination, he yelled as loud as he could, believing in the power of his knowledge. Already seeing his meal, his hope was shattered and followed by his crying. Because he had awoken the whole orphanage and every child started to cry. Which of course led to one conclusion: ¡®Everybody cry, everybody attention, I no attention¡''. Lucky for the children, the maids were handpicked kindly ladies. The Headmaster Ranbert and his colleague Monat having prepared for this occasion. The whole plan had a single flaw that was consciously hidden by the culprits. And that was, the cooks didn''t have this kindness, therefore the children almost never received good tasting food and their protest was responded with lectures about gratefulness. Of course because of the good pay they stayed. This game continued for the next 3 and a half years for Mane. The never-ending patience of the maids, maybe maintained by the good money, and the never-ending vengeance of the cooks, maybe maintained because of the money. Yet, it all ended the day a 10 of the 45 children had reached or passed the threshold of 5 years. I. 2. The Kidnapping Being in the middle of the summer, nature was flourishing at its peak. The trees were full of green leaves, bringing a vitality filled feeling throughout the whole country. The flowers were blooming and showing their beauty. Time of the year loved by all. Especially the children of the orphanage were happy. Having a little garden wasn¡¯t a problem, for it was big enough for the up to 4 years old. Happiness and laughter flowing through the ambient, without a single speck of darkness. But without doubt, the most exciting but nervous were the 5 years old, because they were promised a trip to their new home. Having gathered the 10 children in a circle just outside the gate, Ranbert prepared himself and began his usual goodbye speech with forced but natural appearing excitedness. ¡°Children, you¡¯re now all 5 years old, that means you will get a new home, isn¡¯t that exciting??¡± without waiting for an answer he continued. ¡°Not just that, but we will take a trip through the forest to get there. Imagine all of the animals and flowers you will see. It will be so much fun.¡± Knowing his way around children, all ten of them were overflowing with expectation and answered: ¡°Yes, Headmaster¡±. Looking so cute with their baby faces being so emotional, some of the maids had tears in their eyes. Even doe this happened almost every year, the maids admired the Headmaster each time more for his work and dedication to children. But both Monat and Ranbert hat calm-looking eyes and just a smile for this admiration, but deeply hidden there was a certain attitude, that only the children could sense as something different, yet it was only on an instinctual level and no one of them truly took it to heart. Knowing it was his turn, Monat started to give instructions, ¡°Children, for this trip all of you must follow my instructions, alright. Also, we will be escorted by a group of guards, so please no running around or annoying the guards. Otherwise, you¡¯re free to get off the carriage, which will transport us, in the pauses. It will take us a week to arrive at your next home.¡±If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it. Exactly as planned, in the next half an hour, a big carriage appeared pulled by two horses and four ridden guards along. Being as big as it was, it had enough room for the ten children and Monat. ¡°Monat, take care and come back safely.¡± With these words, Ranbert sentMonat off. ¡°Of course, like always.¡± Responded Monat with a grin, with implications, know only to Ranbert. ¡°Huhu, that is such a beautiful flower¡± with a single move the flower was uprooted and in the hand of the girl. The flor was like a rose just pink and wider. The girl was very happy about it and put it behind her ear. ¡°That is a Middlemist Red, do you like it?¡± the familiar voice made the girl turn around to see Monat standing without care and a friendly smile on his face. ¡°Yes, sir¡± answered she shy, startled by his sudden appearance. Monat looked at her with a caring expression and told her ¡°Take care of the flower, always remember life is like that flower. Now let¡¯s get to the carriage, we have to get going.¡± The whole group continued the trip after the pause. The children still full of life and happiness, until¡ ¡°Stop the carriage immediately or we will shoot¡± the shout and the noise of galloping horses sounded out. Looking out by the window, Monat said with a face full of worry ¡°Bandits, children stay in the carriage, don¡¯t come out.¡± And left the carriage, the ten children with fearful faces sat still. After around 10 minutes of fighting, everything went still and a gas emitting ball flew into the carriage. In shock because of the sudden surprise, they didn¡¯t even have the opportunity to scream before falling unconscious. In a sparely illuminated room, all ten woke one after another woke up. Yet, the surprise was great. An unbelievable great amount of people were in the room. Everybody still half lucid because of the drug, nobody started to scream or truly question the situation. But only some seconds later somebody entered the big room and said ¡°Welcome to The Gladis, become a Gold I and you can leave as a slave or Platinum I and leave as a free man. I am sure you must have a lot of questions, but now: there are 3000 persons here and you all will be teleported to an arena. Whoever kills 2 humans and 5 beasts will be teleported and saved. Also, there will be weapons laying around and 5000 beasts will be released. Good luck.¡± With those words, he left the room, closed the door and a brilliant light illuminated the whole room. I.3. But the terror only began, for beats started coming out the walls of the field, through holes opened for this reason. Acting purely on instinct, the beast started attacking the participants. Strangely, only wolves and bears appeared. Not being prepared nor ever having experienced such a situation, the participants were sheep before them. In less than a minute, over 1000 were dead, waking the others aggreselvy up. Even then, most were crying, screaming or begging for help. The spectators, on the other hand started, screaming and yelling for more, the bloodlust exciting them to no end.Royal Road is the home of this novel.
