《Enlightened Soul》


 Prologue - The Beginning

    Night passed, morning arises.


    Words cannot describe this beautiful scene.


    It shines bright as a sun, heavenly as the clouds.


    My eyes hurt as I stare at the beautiful figure in front of me.


    Mama Mia! Her body as tender as a rose, a beautiful face that surpasses those of a goddess.


    Yet I can only stare, stare at the unreachable.


    Her figure can only remain in my mind, not my touch.


    I was down, yet I got up, life can still move on.


    I am still a youth, still blooming like the summer breeze.


    I watched her walk away to the far distance, men were fascinated as she walks pass them.


    Lucky gentlemen! They are truly lucky!


    Yet in the sky, I see a large bird, it cannot be!?


    A large bird do I see?


    I was entangled in the scene!


    Its appearance is too frightening!


    The horror it brings!


    It flew towards the beautiful lady that I once was fascinated!


    ¡°My oh my! The beautiful lady died!¡± the beautiful lady¡¯s neck was torn apart as the large bird¡¯s claws pierced into her head. ¡°The summer that I enjoyed watching turned into winter, such sad fate for the blooming flower to wither early¡± then I thought, she is attractive no more.


    ¡°Boohoo!¡± staring at the bloody scene in the streets I laughed as I cried ¡°Oh blood! Oh blood! Crimson like the flames of hell!¡±


    Oh how unlucky I am to see such a beautiful woman turn into a mincemeat!


    Such sad, sad fate!`


    For I am merely a human, I too dream and lusts, Pitying my kin for such fate they suffered.


    Would I suffer the same thing after they have eaten my kin bellow? Or would I survive? I think as I stare at the far horizon watching the monsters as they crush my fellow kin.


    It was like a scene from a movie, like Jurassic galaxy and OverGodZilla.


    Entertaining and fascinating is the words I describe it as.


    Chaos erupted and roars of agony can be heard.


    I sighed and hid like a madman!


    No one to be with, no one to lean on.


    ¡°Mama Mia! When will this nightmare stop?¡±


    So I asked! Why oh why this world has to suffer?


    No voice has answered?!


    So I waited, waited as this young fellow almost wither.


    Yet the Roars of agony stopped!


    So I checked the windows.


    Blood, body! Gore!


    The whole ground was enveloped by blood and countless bodies.


    Yet monsters remained eating, feasting!


    Words cannot describe the feelings I felt as I stare at this horrific scene!


    My mind went almost blank, yet I need to survive this blasted city!


    Yet I am still 11 years old, how can a little fragile me escape this dangerous and hell of a city!

    Buildings were filled with monsters, goblins, and different creatures! Luckily I am in the upper floor of this building and only an elevator can access this floor!


    Yet it saddens me to think of the fellow neighbors below me, such fate they suffered.


    Such pain they felt, such horror they have experienced, but what is horror if all ends?


    If all ends they will go to the afterlife, but is there an afterlife? Is there true paradise? Would you still think of paradise once you are in this blasted world!


    Only hours passed yet this world is almost likely hell, maybe there is no afterlife,


    and what awaits after this is nothing. Emptiness! Void! Only these things I can think of!


    Night has come, darkness can only be seen, no lights, no electricity, yet a ton of food is stocked, how can I survive this tragic event?!


    I cannot see any human in my radius of sight yet why do I feel an extreme pressure in my whole body!?


    My heart clenched, it cannot be!? Have the monsters found a way to enter this floor! ¡°Mama mia!¡± I shouted in despair waiting for the monsters to come and eat this dispirited young boy.


    Minutes passed and no monster came to feast on this young boy¡¯s body, how can it be? Am I just lucky or blessed!?


    Yet the extreme pressure remained, I cannot walk straight, cannot move my body straight, such extreme displeasure of having one¡¯s body to feel something like this!


    So I thought of a way, a way to free this young boy from the displeasure I, currently going through.


    But there is no such way, it greatly saddens this young boy.


    But what do I see?!  Heavens is this meteorites do I see!?


    Hundreds! No it was millions of pieces that spreads through the world, a piece flew towards me.


    It struck my chest, entered my body, and the extreme pleasure completely vanished, I felt a pleasurable feeling, only one word can explain it.


    It was enlightenment! Both my body and soul was moved by this ecstatic feeling, as I feel unimaginable changes in both my mind and body.


    ¡°Ughh!¡± I shouted in agony as both pain and pleasure engulfs inside my body, I crawled on the floor, wishing for the pain to stop.


    And it all stopped when my eyes closed and my consciousness left me.

    I woke up, my head a bit dizzy, yet it soon banishes, as I felt my whole body changed, I felt my body hardened, my soul strengthened, my mind enlightened.


    A dark and baleful aura surrounds my whole body.


    after this will be the first counter attack of humanity against the monsters.

 Chapter 1- Confusion

    "Shit, It felt so real" As I awoke, I heard the daily chirping of birds in the morning proving that I am back to reality.


    Looking around I saw that breakfast was ready, "Eggs and toasts as always" you''d probably wonder why I eat my breakfast in my own room rather than the typical stereotype of a family.


    Well, I guess my family isn''t like your normal one, one may think if they see this that we aren''t close but I love my family, and I cherish every moment with them growing up.


    I sleepishly ate breakfast, and directly headed to the shower, well first of all, I am late for class and I haven''t taken a bath for 2 days now since saturday.


    "I smell like shit"


    As I took a shower, a remnant piece of memory flowed through my mind


    In a dark room, beside the windows, illuminated by the stars, i sat side to side with this girl, even though her face was vague my heart still fluttered, the moment felt surreal.


    "Hey, never leave okay?" She whispered, I was surprised not knowing why she asked me that "Why would I leave?" I asked with a confused look.


    She pointed outside the window and then answered "Because of the war", I looked and I observed, what I saw was beyond my comprehension, As I stood and looked below the room, I saw people mutilated, some were beyond saving while some were probably shell shocked.


    in a moment, we heard footsteps over the building and its destination should be this room, I looked at her and saw how her face changed to despair "No, please not them" She muttered.


    BANG, BANG, BANG "OPEN THE DOOR!" A shout came outside the room.


    The knocking sound intensified until at one point the door opened through the person''s sheer force, four men came over in their military uniform, we were bot terrified not knowing what fate lies beyond the two of us.


    "It is by the order of his majesty, that all men and women at their right age must participate in this war to defend our motherland!" The officer in front shouted with vigor, his eyes were full of passion as he was proclaiming his words.


    the two of us couldn''t help but shiver, thought I am more than confused because I have no memories prior to these events and I couldn''t help but be scared of the unknown.


    "you two, take the woman to the field hospital while you two welcome our new private and bring him in the front!" The four men walked towards us, we held eachother''s hands ready to never break apart and yet as fate says so, the soldiers had more strength than us, teens who couldn''t even lift a 30 kg item, we were seperated yet she forcefully tried to reach out to give me a note. "Please let''s meet in du-"


    I awoke on the sound of the water drops, "what the hell was that" I asked myself in utter confusion, I was blanked out and I was longing as if i was seperated from my world or from reality.


    I walked out and sat for a very long time, contemplating as I was in a state of shock, everything felt real; the feelings, the emotions, and the atmosphere. It was as if I was really him and he was me.


    "Fuck, I''m late" I checked the clock and shit, I really was late.


    The sound of the school bell rung in my ears, signifying that I reached school in time or probably I am late for 5 mins, As I entered the class I was greeted by my friends and classmates before the teacher came in.


    Well, as I have never treated school seriously, I always contemplate about different things instead and this was the most feasible way of wasting time, you wouldn''t even realize that the 3 hours class is already finished as you awaken from your contemplation.


    "Shit man, I''m sleepy" I muttered to my seatmate and my friend, Ran.


    "Just sleep then, dumbass" He said with his scrutinizing eyes, I swear this cunt is the most annoying guy ever, "Yeah, id just do that, cunt" I replied and as started to close my eyes and laid my head on the table.


    As I slept, I felt like my consciousness was transferred or warped in space.


    damn, this bizarre feeling again, I still had my eyes closed but judging by the sounds of a car travelling on road and gunfire on my surrounding and the feeling of being sandwiched on both sides made me guess that I was in a military truck. As I opened my eyes, I saw tons of people around me with a hint of hopelessness and yet natiolism in their looks, and then I realized my speculation was correct.

    "Hey kid, always be on the ground during crossfires, never put your head up, aite?" The man besides me lectured, He looked around in his 30''s and probably a kind person which I reciprocated with a simple "Thank you, sir"


    He looked as if he was satisfied in my response and said "Well, better mind my own business now" As he started writing in an old paper.


    Due to my sudden awakening, I just realized that I was holding a small note, remembering it was from that girl last time, I quickly opened it and saw


    Dear Eliot,


    No matter what happens, even if we are separated by heaven and hell, My love for you will always stay .


    By the time you have read this, we might not know eachother''s location right now but I will always pray for you, dear. I love you and I will be here waiting for you.

    Tear drops flowed out of my eyes, I couldn''t help it even if I just met her and I have no prior memories of her, there was this feeling in my heart, a longing and desolateness when I am not with her.


    Even if this isn''t real, it still feels like my love for her is genuine, her eyes oh how I long to stare at it till sunrise.


    "So her name is Cecil" I muttered with a shaking voice.


    "Men, get ready to set on foot! We are near the trenches! prepare for War!" the officer in front shouted and as the truck stopped, we were ordered to set foot and form a line, with the man who was besides me in the truck was placed behind me.


    "March!"


    We marched for 5 minutes straight and probably due to boredom, the man behind me introduced himself "Hey rookie, I forgot to ask you for you name, by the way I am Robert Mcgee" Seeing that he was kind enough to ask for my name, I started to introduce myself and we both had a talk during the march though it was impossible to look directly at him because it would be a sign of disrespect to the Platoon Leader.


    Though as we talked, I learned that this is Robert''s second time to be drafted in a front line, and he told me his experiences during his first time in the trenches, in where he was almost shot in the head when he peeked towards the enemy trench.


    As we march nearer, the sound of gunfire and mortars worsened, "Halt!" Ordered by the officer or officer Ken, in which I learned from Robert.


    "Squad leaders forward!" He ordered "Prepare to set camp!"


    "Sir, Why are we staying here instead of the trenches?" A squad leader asked.


    The look on Officer Ken changed from his vigored look to a dispirited one "The enemy has launched an assault in all sides, if we enter right now we would be caught by the cross-"


    Before he finished what he was about to say, something misfortunate happened, it was as if everything stopped after that moment and we were all in disarray.


    *Ptuuu


    Before we knew it, Officer Ken''s lifeless body was laid down on the ground, blood gushed out from the hole in his head and before we knew it, bullets were sprayed on our location.


    "Take cover and be ready to fireback in where these bullets came from!"


    Everyone panicked and yet the orders kept us organized and we, without question obeyed it.


    I was beside with the squad leader, and our Squad signaller, "Men, confirm if they are enemies or allies who mistook us!"


    "Yes sir!" The signaller complied as he started operating his radio.


    "Platoon 038, Requesting for confirmation if we are under enemy fire or allies in location xx!"


    and minutes after we heard a reply "Location xx is currently under enemies! Platoon 038 prepare for retreat and regroup in location yy"


    We were all devastated, some men need medical supervision as their injuries were fatal, we couldn''t fight back as well as the enemy was spraying with their machine guns.


    It was hopeless and this situation right now made me feel like we were all gonna die, I tried to fire back with my rifle yet as soon as I put my head up, I was almost shot in head by a stray bullet.


    It was hopeless and this was the second time I felt despair in this god forsaken world.


    "Prepare to retr-" The other squad leader shouted before he and some of the guys around him were blown into pieces by the enemy mortar.


    I was about to give up and yet I heard Robert shout "Rookie, run in here while I cover you guys!"
