Seeing his silence, Ye Qin''s classmates turn to him before looking at each other in the eyes before smirking and walks up to him as they threw a pair of trunks filled with flour at him. Woosh. Being covered in flour, Ye Qin coughs before glaring at the one who threw it at him. "What? I threw it! What are you gonna do about it? You trash!" the leader of the bullies shouts. "Trash!" shouts another bully. "Trash!" shouts another bully. "Trash!" another bully repeats. Suddenly from afar, a female student with a beautiful face and not so bad figure confronts the bullies and scolds them. "Hey! Stop bullying Ye Qin! We''re all classmates here, no matter one''s talent you shouldn''t bully them for that!" "Class rep! Why are you always defending this trash? Strange creatures later known as Monsters started appearing just hours after the meteors landed along with strange stones that varied by color along with various sigils engraved on the surface. The human population only continued to dwindle as the monsters attacked all life in their sight. One man as if being enlightened during these events barely managed to touch one of the strange stones. Suddenly a bright light surrounded him and knowledge from another world suddenly appeared in his mind. Using this knowledge, a monster of his own that he could control appeared from what seemed like a magic circle. Using this new power, he fought against the monsters roaming the earth as well as encouraged other humans to do the same. After a century or so, humans regained a part of their lands and increased the population slowly. Now 1000 years later, countless stones as well as schools where students are taught about the monsters and learn to train them to fight or others. Humans created man-made islands and named them after their familiar countries and recreated earth at the center of the Atlantic ocean. Ye Qin was born in a wealthy family in a little city around the borders of New China, he went to a school specifically for monster training. At the age of 4, all humans would be able to have their own stone which later became known as the Contract stone and formed their own unique sigil on the surface of the stone. These stones appear out of a small magic circle from the chest of the individual automatically when the time comes to form a contract. Humans using the Contract stones would automatically gain the knowledge to be able to sense their monster and form a blood contract with it. Humans could only have one monster throughout their lifetime however some exceptional existences could have 2 or even 3 but their number could only be counted with two hands. Each of those peak existences became a hero within their generation and brought humanity back towards the top of the food chain. Monsters grew along with their owners and start from an infancy stage. They could evolve in various ways which are either through the way they are trained or through consuming enough materials of certain elements. Some monsters could even evolve through battle. Monsters are classified in different grades namely Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary and Mythical grades. Throughout history, only 1 man had a Mythical grade monster recorded while Legendary and Epic grades were considered the peak of humanity. Even then those who had Epic and Legendary grade monsters were 1 in 100 000. No matter what grade the monster, all students had to go to a monster taming school. However major cities in New Beijing or New Shanghai had multiple elite schools for students to choose from. Ye Qin was born with a common grade monster namely a Koi with no special abilities and having close to zero attack capabilities. This caused his family''s name to be a hot topic of gossip throughout the city during the year he called his monster out and became the target of ridicule within his school and throughout the city. Now 14 years later, this had yet to be changed and caused Ye Qin who was once a cheerful youth to become cold and quiet. ... After a couple of hours, the class ended as Ye Qin went home directly. Arriving at home, he took a shower before having his clothes washed by the family butler and maids, before having dinner with his parents. At the dinner table, Ye Qin along with his parents and younger sister sat quietly and ate without a single word. As he was about to go to his room, his father spoke to him whilst his sister gave him looks of disdain whilst showing a hint of sadness on her face. After speaking to his father, Ye Qin went up to the rooftop of his quadra-story house and gazed at the night sky. After a while Ye Qin noticed a bright light in the sky, putting his hands together he made a wish before turning around and headed to his room. As he turned around, with the corner of his eyes he thought he had seen wrongly. "Huh? Am I seeing things? Why does it look like it''s coming towards me?" he thought. Rubbing his eyes, Ye Qin looked closely at the bright light that started rushing towards him at great speeds. "What the f*ck! It''s aiming for me!" he shouted internally. Before he could even shout for help, the bright light shrunk and turned into a small meteor that went inside the center of his forehead. Whoosh! The meteor went inside his forehead and brought him soul-piercing pain that made him feel like he was better off dead. The inhumane pain kept him awake and didn''t let him fall unconscious, whilst he screamed his family and butler rushed up to the rooftop and panicked before carrying him to his room while he was still in pain. After 10 or so hours, the pain finally subsided as he fell asleep while his mother wiped the sweat off his body. Chapter 2 Seven Dragons The next morning, Ye Qin woke up on his bed in a new set of pajamas. Feeling a difference within his body, he closed his eyes and focused his mind into the Monster Sea. The Monster Sea is located within the human mind, it''s the place where humans can call for their monster from another plane. One could only see it if they were focused enough and free from any thoughts. Within his mind, he saw 7 different colored lights. "What the f*ck? I only have a single monster why are there 6 other lights?" Upon focusing closely on the 7 colored lights, Ye Qin noticed that each light had a different symbol. At the top of the red light, a flame symbol could be seen along with a rose-colored Koi. Ye Qin replied as he looked at the time before changing into his uniform, brushing his teeth and doing other miscellaneous things as the butler left his room. ¡­ After changing into his uniform which is almost completely white accompanied by blue and black stripes around some edges, Ye Qin went downstairs to the dining room to have his breakfast along with his family as per usual. During the meal, his father asked, "Are you sure you are able to attend school today?". Ye Qin paused and nodded as he faced his father without saying anything. However, his mother was still extremely worried and asked "Are you sure we don''t need to visit the hospital? You were in so much pain last night, I couldn''t sleep at all." "I''m ok." Ye Qin replied. After breakfast, Ye Qin got into the family car along with his sister and headed to school. Ye Qin''s little sister Ye Fei is 15 years old and as she is in middle school, they naturally went to different schools. In the car, Ye Qin sat quietly and looked outside the window and thought "I should keep the other Koi a secret, meaning I can only reveal my original golden Koi." Suddenly from within his mind, an interface that looked as if it came out from a video game had appeared in front of him. Every monster is born with a grade, most monsters will forever stay in the same grade throughout their entire lifetime. However, 400 years ago, it was discovered that a monsters'' grade could beincreased with the right materials or through battle. This brought about hope to humanity and changed the economy entirely as the rich families occupied most of the monster materials market leaving the poor families with almost nothing. After pondering for a while, Ye Qin looked at the way to increase his monsters'' grade. [Common to Uncommon- 1. Bath in the blood of two or more monsters of the uncommon grade (Chance of success (50%). 2. Survive a mortal wound from a foe (Chance of success > 1%)] The same conditions applied to each of his 7 monsters to increase their grade, however, for evolution they required similar materials but a larger quantity of monster cores of the same element. As he was still thinking to himself, the driver said "Young Master, we have arrived." which caught Ye Qin''s attention. "Thank you." Ye Qin said as he got out of the car and walked to class. Chapter 3 Displaying Knowledge As he stepped out of the car and set foot on the school grounds, Ye Qin stood still and stared at the building for a long time. It wasn''t until people started talking about him for being a weirdo that he finally moved from his spot and walked inside without saying a thing or even so much as to glance at anyone. Tap! Tap! Ye Qin walked along the same corridors towards his classroom, from behind he could hear the sounds of a female student walking. Ignoring this he kept walking as if he didn''t hear a thing, then as he turned to the right. Crash! "Ouch." a female shouted quietly only enough for the two of them to hear. Ye Qin opened his eyes and noticed that he didn''t feel any pain from the impact of crashing into someone. Looking across from him, the Class Representative, Li Yutong rubs her nose in pain. Ye Qin stands up to dust his clothes and waits for her to notice him before putting out his hand, "Are you okay? Sorry about that." he apologized. Seeing a familiar face in front of her, Li Yutong grabs his hand to help herself up before seemingly dusting off her clothes, then looks up at Ye Qin and replies with a slightly flushed face "Yes, I''m okay. I''m also at fault for not paying attention." "..." After helping Li Yutong up, the two of them walk into the classroom together. Upon arriving in the classroom, Ye Qin looked up to see if there were any buckets of liquid or chalk above him before calmly entering the classroom. "Oh? Even Frontliners must maintain a positive relationship with Monster Breeders if they wish to continue fighting. The second exam is the Battle Exam, students are placed to fight against each other in a tournament-style whilst being judged and given an end score. The higher one places, the greater the chance to be recruited into the major Universities. This exam is important for tamers who fight on the frontline along with their monsters and peers, hence the name Frontliners. Ye Qin ignored them as he continued sitting in his seat without worries whilst Li Yutong could only quietly sit in her seat and occasionally steal a glance at Ye Qin when nobody is paying attention. Ding! Dong! Ding! Dong! Tok! Tok! Tok! The sound of high heels echoes across the classroom as their beautiful homeroom teacher Mo Qiu, who wore a white blouse that barely hides her undergarments along with long black pants that show off her curves walks into the classroom. Placing her books on her desk, the teacher says loudly "Class will now begin." ¡­ During the lecture by their homeroom teacher, Mo Qiu asks the students "Who can tell me the basic characteristics of a Blackwing Falcon?" She frowns slightly before it became a smile and says "Ye Qin, please answer my question." Hearing this, Ye Qin who sat with his legs crossed whilst reading looks up before responding to her question "A Blackwing Falcon, is a bird that stays in the darkness and has appeared since the beginning. They have a red body whilst their wings are pitch black hence the name. They have large wings, that span up to 20 meters in length allowing them to fly at speeds of up to 300 km an hour. They are also packed with a beak as tough as diamonds and talons that can crush steel as if it were tofu." "A Blackwing Falcon if possessed by a tamer since birth is classified as an Uncommon Grade monster. They have two possible evolution paths, one being a Flamewing Falcon focusing on fire and dark element attacks whilst the other being a Blacksteel Falcon which gives it scale-like feathers allowing it to have extraordinary defense without weakening its attacks from its previous form" he continued. After finishing his sentence, Ye Qin asked, "Do I need to explain the ways in which it can be evolved as well?". Mo Qiu stared at him blankly for a moment before regaining her focus and replied: "No that''s enough. Thank you for your answer" Since Ye Qin didn''t need to explain further he continued reading his book as if nothing had happened while the rest of the class looked at him strangely. The way he had explained it in detail was as if he was reciting a textbook answer, what shocked them more was that he even knew how they could be evolved, leaving their mouths wide open. Chapter 4 Golden Winged Tiger After class ended, Ye Qin left the classroom without anyone noticing as if he were a shadow. On the way out he hears "Boss! Boss! Wait up.." from a young plump man who is about 180 cm in height. After catching up to Ye Qin, the plump young man catches his breath as the two of them walk to the cafeteria together. "Wang Tao, I''ve told you not to call me boss, am I a thug or something?" Ye Qin asks looking at his plump friend. "Of course not, boss!" Ops I mean Ye Qin." Wang Tao replies. "Good, now let''s go get something to eat." Ye Qin says. Once the two of them arrive in the cafeteria which expanded in an area of over 200 meters square along with advanced interior design, they lined up and grabbed a tray and utensils as they wait in line for food. After getting the dishes they wanted, the two of them found an empty table and sat down to eat. As they ate, Wang Tao asks "Boss, I mean Ye Qin, what are you doing after school?". Ye Qin swallowed the mouthful of food in his mouth before replying "Nothing, why?". Wang Tao coughs and says "Great, wanna go to the arcade my dad just opened nearby?". Wang Tao''s family the Wang''s are a powerful and wealthy family comparable to the Ye''s which is how the two of them met and became friends when they were young. Back then Wang Tao didn''t mind that Ye Qin had a trash monster, he too was ridiculed for being fat and ugly however he did have an Uncommon Grade Monster. The two of them facing the same situation naturally became friends with Ye Qin being the elder whilst Wang Tao the younger hence calling the former ''Boss''. "Nah, how about we go to one of the fields outside and then bring out your monster for me to see." Ye Qin said. "Sure, but I can''t take it out for long right? The school rules state that we students cannot bring out our monsters without permission." Wang Tao replied. "It''s good that you remember the school rules, why can''t you remember the theory?" Ye Qin said as he shook his head. "..." After the two of them finished their lunch, they put the tray and utensils back then walked out to one of the fields around the school grounds. The school that the two of them go to Qingshui High expands around a 10 km radius. The existence of monsters has caused activities such as baseball and other sports to become obsolete, however, they still exist as a pastime for students hence the massive land space. As they arrive at an empty field filled with nothing but grass, Wang Tao called his monster out as a flash of green light appears next to his body. Seeing his best friend looking at his monster strangely, Wang Tao asked: "Boss, what''s wrong?". Ye Qin quickly focused before looking at Wang Tao before putting both hands on the shoulders of the former and said seriously "Fatty, do you trust me?". "Of course I do! You''re my boss!" Wang Tao replied with a few beads of sweat dripping down his forehead. "Really? Then how about we go upgrade your Gold Winged Tiger''s grade to Rare?" Ye Qin smiled. "Wha, WHAAAAT?!" Wang Tao shouted. "Don''t scream, didn''t you say you trusted me?" Ye Qin asked. "But, boss... Can you really?" Wang Tao continued. "Yup, put your trust in your long-time buddy. Now let''s go skip the rest of our classes and go buy the materials listed, but let me write it down first." Ye Qin replied. ¡­ After purchasing all the materials needed, the two boys went and bought a large pot that could fit a child inside. They then went to their hideout located in between both their houses that are camouflaged by large trees and caves. Once they stepped foot inside and placed down the large pot, the boys wiped their sweat before taking a break. "Hah, huff. Boss are you sure you can do this?" Wang Tao asked again. "Absolutely." Ye Qin said. "Now let''s begin, call your monster and tell it to sit inside the pot." he continued. With a flash of green light, the Gold Winged Tiger appeared next to the two and looked around curiously. Ye Qin then grabbed the necessary materials and threw them all into the pot at once before adding 20 L of water and started to boil the pot using a small flame. Pop! Pop! "Now! Inside the pot!" Ye Qin shouted. Wang Tao nodded and said, "Go into the pot!" The Gold Winged Tiger took another look at both the boys before jumping in without hesitation. Surprisingly enough, it didn''t feel any pain from the boiling of the materials and just stayed inside without moving. "Strange, it''s not feeling any pain from this heat?" Wang Tao asked. "Yea, I don''t know why either but for now let him stay in there for an hour or two with the lid closed." Ye Qin replied. "Okay." Wang Tao nodded as he placed the lid over the pot and waited. ¡­ After an hour of waiting. Woosh! Woosh! With a flash of golden light, the cries of a beast shook the air and rocked the cave around them. The Gold Winged Tiger jumped out of the pot and roared before looking at its master and rubbed its head against his leg. "Bo... Boss! You really did it!" Wang Tao cried. Ye Qin nodded and looked at the newly upgraded monster, its small body of 1.30 meters in length has now expanded to almost 2m in length. Its golden wings glistened with a darker golden color whilst its four claws and teeth became sharper and displayed a tint of gold. "Oh, those, to evolve it of course." Ye Qin smiled. "???" "What?!" Wang Tao shouted once again. "Calm down, if I can increase it''s grade naturally I can evolve it too right?" Ye Qin said. "..." "Of course, how could I forget that increasing grade is considered a legendary feat. The evolution of monsters is easier than such a thing." Wang Tao said as he knocked his head. Chapter 5 Successful Evolution Soon enough, Ye Qin emptied the pot onto a nearby tree then placed the pot back over a flame as he threw in the materials along with another 10L of water. After boiling the materials and mixing it, Ye Qin poured in the snake type blood and waited. As soon as it was ready, Wang Tao sent his Gold Winged Tiger inside the pot once again as it jumped inside joyfully. This time, Ye Qin didn''t place the lid over the pot as the two boys stood back at roughly 7 meters away from the pot and waited. Pop! Pop! Boils. During the wait, small cracks started appearing on the surface of the pot as streaks of gold and purple light seeped through the cracks. Ye Qin and Wang Tao stood back even further as they watched the pot shake. Roar! After another 20 minutes, the pot stopped shaking as a bright golden purple light illuminated the entire cave, blocking the view of both Ye Qin and Wang Tao. Crack! Crack! The pot broke into thousands of individual pieces as a 3m long golden tiger without stripes stands proudly on all fours as it cries. Roar! Within a radius of dozens of meters, nearby monsters even in the other plane felt the powerful energy of a new species. Woosh! The tiger''s wings unfolded as its wingspan covered an area of 5 meters on each side. Its previously golden wings had black edges which made it from the previously small cat into a king of its kind. From the tail, the head of a snake could be seen with a golden color and purple eyes as if there were two beings in one body. I just used your partner as an experiment since its the first time I''ve ever done this." Ye Qin replied. "I see... Boss since you can upgrade and evolve my partner, you can naturally do the same to yours right?" Wang Tao asked.
