《Planet At War》 Chapter 2 - Jimmie ¡°We¡¯ve gotten words of a company that were sent out earlier today to reinforce Warden Depot. According to reports, they were ambushed about a mile away from the depot by enemies composed of Vregmen, numbering in the hundreds¡± The soldiers in the room murmured amongst themselves as the commander finished speaking, the information being rather troublesome. Jimmie just sat in silence, outwardly looking cool, but inwardly rejoicing, knowing what this information would eventually lead too. Chapter 3 - Jimmie Jimmie was on his way to his assigned ship, inside a bigger ship which was inside an even bigger ship. Jimmie thought about that for a second, pondered how stupid that sounded, even if it was true. Then Jimmie realised that inside the smallest ships, there were nine capsules, one for each of the soldiers, made to shoot them down to the planets surface. These capsules could, with some effort, be steered and should therefore be defined as ships on their own. At least, that was what Jimmie was thinking about as he made his way through the dirty corridors of the enormous ship. He turned his gaze to his left, watching as the steel doors passed him, each containing a number that indicated what sort of room it was. Then Jimmie looked to the right and saw Dick. Chapter 4 - Jimmie The ship rocked away from its motherly embrace, engine burning as it pushed off of the bigger ship. The commander talking with the ship¡¯s pilot, coordinating with the other ships, ordering out position to the respective ships and figuring out their respective parts in the mission. Jimmie sat strapped in like the rest of the soldiers, helmet fogging up by his ragged breaths. He hated these helmets, felt like it trapped him, a cocoon of insufferable, inescapable metal. Which wasn¡¯t far from the truth, thought Jimmie. If anything happened, he wouldn¡¯t be able to do anything to change the fact. That thought scared Jimmie, something that he vehemently denied to himself. Chapter 7 - Jimmie Going back to his pod, he immediately spotted his bag, pulling it out he checked its content. Inside were several ration bars, enough to keep a man going for months, and a soldier for weeks. They tasted like nothing but somehow smelled like rotten fish, although one didn¡¯t really complain when you could either choose this, or carry your own weight in food.
