《Errand Boy》
Prologue
Prologue
Alek here! I''m a 17-year-old teenager with average looks and average grades. . . I wish!
You know what they call me in school? The bum, Sleeping Idiot, Walking sack of sarcasm, you get the idea, I''m a person who''s avoided by everyone, that''s right everyone!... What? You thought I''d have something like a beautiful Class Representative that is also my childhood friend? Yeah right, what is this an anime?
It''s been like this ever since four years ago, when ''It'' started happening, I was walking home from school when suddenly a flash of light blinds me and when my eyes finally adjusted I''m in this room surrounded by these old geezers wearing white cloaks. No, they''re not kidnappers, I wish they were though, They''re not my relatives either.
They''re Gods, that''s right, Gods. Even though they were minor Gods they were still Gods. They each had their own seat made out of stone which looked like marble which had beautiful designs carved all over them, Every one of them wore the same white robe and sat on similar thrones, all but one.
Unlike everyone else he didn''t have white hair or grew a beard that reached the floor, he had no hair. period. He didn''t even have a face. He had a well-trained body and wore a white Toga. By well trained i meant his body looked like The Rock and Arnold Schwarzenegger had a baby, but instead of a head he had this orb of light which by the way was the only source of light in this room, aside from his already intimidating looks he had this intense aura around him that made you just want to kneel down and worship him.
That''s right, its God. Not just any god, THE God, the one that made every other God, which in turn general their own universes or realities. I felt a lot of emotions at that time like, confusion, respect, anxiousness, and fear. While I was still panicking Orb Head raises his hand and a voice that sounded as if it was coming from the heavens started to speak.
God: "Welcome chosen one!"
Chosen one, such a cliche title I know. Well, whatever.
He starts to tell me this long ass story of how every hundred earth years or so a mortal is chosen to be his Errand boy Champion, whose job is to go to ¡®Realities¡¯ that his Minor gods made and fix the balance of good and evil. That¡¯s right, just like in one of those light novels where the main character gets transported into a different world where he meets these beauties and makes a harem. Shit, if that¡¯s how it actually happened I wouldn¡¯t be here complaining. This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.
In light novels, the Main character is this weakling that¡¯s given cheat abilities by God or some powerful being. After getting these abilities he somehow masters them almost immediately, and in his journey to slay the Demon King or whatever his harem increases. It¡¯s the perfect job right? As if! First things first, Its EXTREMELY hard to master these cheat powers, In my first ¡®Reality¡¯ I almost blew my head off practicing magic! They said the fireball spell was for beginners and was really weak, how the fuck should I have known that my cheat ability would enhance magic attacks, That wasn¡¯t a fireball that was a fucking missile!
¡®At least you had some sort of intimate relationship with the princess of the kingdom or any other female that joined your quest right?¡¯ What do you think? Here¡¯s the thing about people, when you know that something is dangerous you tend to stay as far away from it as possible. Well, what can be more dangerous than a person who can turn a basic spell into a weapon of mass destruction? In fact, out of all my ¡®Errands¡¯ I had absolutely no love life at all!
No, I¡¯m not bitter, I¡¯m just pissed that some of them didn¡¯t even thank me after I defeated the demon king, they just plopped me down a portal to send me back, what assholes! Being a hero sucks! That¡¯s why when my ¡®Errands¡¯ require me to bring Evil into that certain ¡®Reality¡¯ I have the best time of my life! Just imagine, you have unlimited power and no one''s going to stop you! Sure they send some heroes after me but why should I care? They can''t beat a veteran like me. I know every trick in the book, rookies like them can''t even lay a finger on me! Alright were starting to get off topic, what I¡¯m trying to say is that this ¡°God¡± is so fucking lazy! He could just snap his fingers and it would fix itself, but Noooooo~ he wants me to fix it for him! Wait no, not lazy, he''s just an asshole! Tch.
After a few hundred ¡®Errands¡¯ Missions I learned to just give up and try to enjoy his little missions. In case you¡¯re wondering this is how ¡®Gods¡¯ summoning works. One second I''m sitting in the classroom then a flash of light blinds me for a few seconds. It hurts, trust me. Then when my vision comes back I¡¯m either inside the castle as this worlds Hero, or sitting on a throne in that worlds ¡®demon continent¡¯ as its Demon King. No warnings, no schedules no nothing.
Right now I¡¯m sitting in my classroom trying to fall asleep, sadly it''s not that easy. After a few years doing Gods ¡®Errands¡¯ it becomes hard for you to relax and let your guard down. So here I am, trying to fall asleep when a sudden flash of light blinds me. Wait how the fuck was I blinded when my eyes were closed!? FUCK he¡¯s messing with me!!
I shrug as I wait for my eyes to adjust, here we go again, another ¡®Errand¡¯ from God himself~ Sigh...
As soon as my eyes adjust the familiar arrangement of The royal family surrounded by a small army is seen.. but wait.. there''s something different...
I look around and see that not only me but my whole class got summoned! What the hell!? I suddenly hear a voice in my head which makes me even angrier, that¡¯s right, its God.
God: ¡°Have fun Hero¡±
Chapter One : Status
Chapter 1 ¨C Status
¡°Have fun~¡±
For a moment my mind was completely blank because now, it''s not just me that was summoned but my whole class.
Alek: ¡°What the hell¡±
I look around and my classmates have the same reaction as me, some are scared, others excited. In front of us is a group of armored men, in the middle is an old man that looked like he was about 60 or 70 years old, next to him is a small girl with curly blonde hair reaching up to her shoulders, whos holding the hand of a teenager around my age with the same curly blond hair, they looked like they were brother and sister.
They¡¯re the royal family I¡¯m guessing, this is the usual pattern anyways¡ But what the hell am I supposed to do now that I¡¯m with my whole class!? If this was just like my usual ¡®Errands¡¯ I would have already taken initiative, but this time I can¡¯t do that. If they find out what I actually am then things would just get harder for me in the long run.
Surprisingly our class representative, a girl with a short stature that has her hair tied into a ponytail while wearing glasses. Yup, you guessed it, the stereotype Class Rep.
She folds her arms and looks up to the king like she owned the place, wow I knew she was stuck up but not this stuck up.
Class Rep: ¡°Where are we and who are you, people!?¡±
One of the armored men takes a step forward and was about to say something before the old man (king) raises his hand to silence him
King: ¡°Welcome heroes. I am Leoric Gereus, king of the Holy Lagus Empire.¡± He says before bowing elegantly, the brother and sister, which I¡¯m assuming are his children does the same.
He slowly raises his head and begins to explain for about an hour. Nothing that I haven¡¯t heard of before actually~ Right now there¡¯s a demon lord who threatened to take over the world with his demon army, blah blah blah, y¡¯know, the usual stuff. After a while, the old geezer finally finishes his long ass explanation and everyone in my class except me has this stupid expression on their faces as if they couldn¡¯t believe what they were hearing.
One of the guards looks at me and raises an eyebrow, I guess he¡¯s surprised that I don¡¯t have the same stupid look on my face like everyone else, After a few of the same repetitive explanation you kinda get used to it y¡¯know? I shrug my shoulder in response and break eye contact with him.
After the king''s explanation, he gives us a tour of the palace, its one of prettier palaces I¡¯ve been to. It had walls made out of marble, the floor was fully covered by a carpet and there were expensive looking pottery and paintings everywhere. After looking around a little I turn my head and see the same armored guy staring at me! What the hell has he been staring at me since that time!? That¡¯s creepy man! My whole body shivers and a frown appears on my face as I walk away from him.
All I felt from that guy was trouble, and I don¡¯t need trouble.
If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation. After a few minutes of walking we end up in a throne room where the old guy sits on his golden throne, the group of armored men go into formation and make a human wall between us and him. The king raises his hand and begins to talk soon after the soldiers finish their formation.
King: ¡° Now that I have explained to you my worlds situation, could you find it in your heart to help us defeat the Demon Lord?¡±
Wow, that¡¯s a first, he''s asking us to help him like how a beggar asks for money. Is he that desperate?
The class rep. nods her head before talking to the king
Clase Rep: ¡°Give us a sec to think about it kay?¡±
Why the heck are you talking to the king like you¡¯re equals!? The hell!? Are you really that stuck up!?
I shake my head and let out a small sigh as the class starts to form a small circle to talk about the king''s request. Of course, I¡¯m not part of this circle because they think my opinion doesn¡¯t matter. . . No, I don¡¯t care. . . Not at all.. *sniff*
I stand outside the group circle awkwardly, rubbing the back of my neck as I looked around the room while at the same time voiding eye contact with the king and all his guards. Especially that one that''s been staring from the very start... what a creep.
After a few minutes of talking the class rep turns around and faces the king with a smile on her face
Class Rep: ¡°We accept your request !¡±
Oi oi, what do you mean you accept!? Do you really think beating a demon lord is that easy!? Gah! Idiots! Whatever, I don¡¯t care what happens to you anyways.
After hearing this the king''s mood instantly turns from gloomy emo child to the happiest old man in the world. He suddenly stands up and claps once.
King: ¡°Thank you, heroes! Now Roman, please teach our heroes the basic commands¡±
Commands? So its one of those ¡®Realities¡¯ huh? A world where level and stats is everything, where killing monsters give you items, basically Nerds paradise.
When the king finishes speaking one of the armored men walk in front of us and stares at me for a few seconds before starting to talk. Wait a minute. . . That¡¯s the same guy that was staring at me a while ago! It¡¯s the creep!
Roman (creep): ¡°First things first, we need you to check your stats, to do this you need to think of the word ¡®STATUS¡¯. You need a bit of concentration at first but you¡¯ll get used to it in the near future¡±
Unlike the others, I¡¯ve done this hundreds of times so I easily open my status. A small blue rectangle appears in front of me with a long list of things about me.

I nod, seeing that my stats are still the same... What? You thought I was some weakling?
Well, the thing about being Gods Errand boy is that every time I finish an ''Errand'' The things I get from that world like Magic spells, levels and stats stay. The only thing that''s stopping me from destroying the whole school in one punch is the Limiter God put on me everytime I''m on my original ''Reality''. Without it, I would have punched a hole through several people by now.
Soon, my classmates also start to see their stats, of course, I couldn''t see it because only the owner can see it, that''s why no one freaked out when I opened my Stats window~
Roman (The creep) folds his arms and nods his head
Roman: "Your group seems to have already learned how to use status I see." He turns his head to face the King "My lord, If I may have a selfish request, May I have a duel with one of the heroes so that I could see how strong they currently are?"
The Old man nods his head as he gives permission.
Roman raises his head and puts out a smile, no not the cute, cheerful smile, I''m talking about a smile that will only bring trouble as he turns his head to look at me
Roman: "Then I challenge you!"
See, I told you.
Chapter Two: Roman
Chapter 2 ¨C Roman
Roman: ¡°Then, I challenge you!¡±
Oh God, why me out of everyone in my class!?
Do you like to pick on weak looking guys!?
Well, too bad, I¡¯m far from weak!
When I finally realized that I was thinking all of that out loud, literally the entire class was already staring at me. Some were laughing while others were calling me names like: ¡°dead meat¡±. It didn¡¯t bother me at all though. Actually, it just motivated me more. Motivated me to show them all just how strong I really am! Muhahahahaha-GEFU!!
While I was in my own little world, the fight had already broken out without my knowledge. I received a good, clean kick to the gut. It didn¡¯t really hurt because of my stats but honestly, that¡¯s just playing dirty!
Roman''s POV a few minutes back...
It was time for the summoning ritual to begin. The royal family, excluding the queen, was surrounded by a small army of veteran knights; ready to fight off whatever the ritual may bring forth into their plane of existence if something goes awry somehow.
The kingdom''s 10 greatest mages all gathered to perform the ritual. They enclosed a large magic circle which gave out a faint red glow. Just looking at it gave me a disgusting feeling. If you¡¯re curious, not just anyone has the capability nor the capacity to perform this certain summoning ritual. The secret to its accomplishment has only ever been passed down to the kings of the kingdom. Rumors even speculate that the founding king, the first king himself, was also a summoned hero who was brought to this realm by the very same ritual.
At the king''s command, the ten great mages began to chant an ancient incantation which caused the magic circle to release a bright, blinding, white light that was strong enough to force everyone in the room to shield their eyes.
After a few seconds, the light started to fade and the voices of several people could be heard. When I finally opened my eyes, I saw a group of no less than thirty people standing on top of the now inactive circle. The men were all wearing black clothes with gold-colored buttons. Their clothes covered nearly their entire body - only showing their hands and heads. The women, on the other hand, were wearing black tops with red lining and skirts which, I believe, fair maidens such as them should not be wearing. In short, the summoned heroes¡¯ outfits were very strange.
I took a closer look at their odd group and noticed that, aside from a handful of grown men and a few grown women, most of them didn¡¯t have any actual muscle or build at all! They looked just like normal children! How could these children possibly have the power to save our world!?
But then, I noticed someone at the very back of the group ¨C just slightly away from everyone else. I almost didn¡¯t notice him. Actually, it was as if he didn¡¯t want to get noticed.
He had short black hair with bangs that covered almost half his face and he wore a looser version of the outfits which his fellow male companions were wearing. His posture was very lax and his small frame making him look even weaker. How can this person possibly become a hero? I analyzed him closer, trying to find at least one notable attribute he could possibly possess. Then, I finally noticed it. Unlike the others, he seemed to be fully aware of his surroundings, reacting to every little movement from the guard force wit ha quick glance as if prepared to move at any time... Odd.This novel is published on a different platform. Support the original author by finding the official source.
I decided to observe him as we approached the throne room, forming a plan in my head to expose his true nature. Soon, in a few more seconds I would put my plan into action.
**
After a few minutes of walking we finally arrive at the throne room and I was told to teach them how to open their statuses, everything was going as expected except for the fact that one of them didn¡¯t have trouble with opening it as the others did, yep its him it¡¯s the same creepy kid!
Why is he smiling? Are his stats really that good? As if he was simply confirming something.
This kid''s weird, he has an aura around him that makes him that makes me feel uncomfortable, an unexplainable feeling. It can only mean two things, either he was already summoned to another world as a hero or he¡¯s a spy sent by the demon king. Let¡¯s just hope he¡¯s not the latter.
After everyone in their group was able to open their screens I go to the king and ask a favor, if I was anyone else the king wouldn¡¯t have even considered it but we¡¯ve been friends since we were young even before he was crowned as a king so he allowed my selfish request.
Roman: ¡°Then, I challenge you!¡±
I was at least expecting some sort of reaction or response when I issued the challenge. This guy is definitely a lot tougher to crack than I first anticipated. He looks so calm and collected. He''s probably waiting for me to make the first move so that he can see what he''s up against. But, as they say, ¡°First to strike, first to kill.¡± and I''ve never been the type of person to look a gift-horse in the mouth.
I sprung into action and, to my surprise, actually landed a strong, clean hit directly to his face. I watched as his body fell to the floor with a thud. Weird, I was expecting so much more- SHIT! I immediately grasp my arm while trying not to draw too much attention. What the hell happened to my arm!
Alex POV
I stared at the ceiling as my body was sucker punched hard, enough to send my body flying back. It really didn''t hurt that much, but it was still a pretty dirty move to pull. I mean, really, who tries to punch someone when clearly they''re having an internal monologue.
This might pose a problem though. If I land on the ground and everyone realizes that I''m unaffected, then there''s a chance that people might start suspecting something and I can''t keep up this cover anymore.
On the other hand, I''m pretty pissed right now and I really don''t feel like letting this guy off so easily. Hmm...what to do? Oh, what to do? Wait, I know!
In a split second, I activate a skill so that my speed would increase a hundredfold and sent a quick slap to his arm for a simple counterattack that made the arm let out a snapping sound. Yup, that¡¯ll hurt.
Now all I have to do is give myself a black eye¡ ah, shit this is gonna hurt like a bitch!
I used whatever¡¯s left of my airtime and speed spell to punch my right eye with a little bit of strength.
Ouch...
Well, now all I have to do is pretend to be knocked unconscious.
After a few seconds of me not moving my I start to hear my classmates laugh, some actually pitied me saying something like ¡°Isn''t that a bit too much?¡± Pfft! As if you care! Then I hear footsteps coming towards me, small and light. Probably a girl.
¡°Yep, he¡¯s out cold..¡±
It was the class rep. After confirming my condition she walked away, I¡¯m guessing towards Dick face... Ehem I mean Roman.....
They were pretty far away but I heard bits and pieces of what they were talking about. Something about being too aggressive and to not do to my other classmates what he did to me. Hey, what about me!?
Aren''t you going to say something about hurting me, you bitch!?
Well whatever¡its not like I actually expected some help.. *sniff*
After a few minutes of waiting, two people (I¡¯m guessing guys) started pulling me away like I was a bag of potatoes while complaining about how heavy I was.
I swear.. If I wouldn¡¯t be in trouble if one of my classmates suddenly disappeared I would have- afsdfSdqWRHegadfwafv
Phew.. okay... I¡¯m okay now no really¡.
It wouldn¡¯t hurt to be nicer though.. Well after a few minutes of being dragged I was placed on a soft soft bed, mhmm this is a good bed, well since I have the opportunity to sleep I¡¯ll sleep!
Just before I fall asleep I start thinking about my first ¡®reality¡¯, that was a really long time ago huh¡.
Chapter Three: The Little Witch And The Realization
Chapter 3
I wake up the next morning feeling refreshed, I haven''t slept this well in a long time! Usually ''God'' appears in my dreams just to annoy me. Seriously couldn''t I get at least one night of good sleep!?
Anyways I roll out of bed and look around, its a pretty decent sized room, it had enough space for this king-sized bed and all these other things I will probably never need..
I walk towards the closet and open both doors , the first thing that I noticed is the fact that it was filled to the brim with my school uniform!
This is bullshit! Are they really expecting me to wear the same old stuffy uniform every single fucking day!? Fuck that!
For now I won''t get changed, I don''t smell that bad... I think..
I walk a few steps towards the door right before it suddenly flies open! That was really close ! If I took a step closer I would have been hit!
Well it''s not like it would have hurt me but it sure as hell would not have been a good start for today.
I look up and see a very familiar face. Its Roman, no not a citizen of Rome but that creep that kept staring at me yesterday!
Fuck, my day is officially ruined now.
Next to him is what looks like a 12 year old girl wearing an oversized whitch hat and clothes that you would usually see on an adventurer in one of those fantasy themed mangas.
"Oh good, you''re awake~"
The 12-year-old spoke first with a smile on her face. What? what are you smiling at? Is me being awake a good thing?
"We would like to talk to you about something important"
This time the creep talks, Huh I just noticed it but his arm is all okay now. I guess he got it healed with magic. Magic sure is useful~
I just look at the two of them without saying a word, I mean how would you respond when two strangers kick open the door to your room in the morning? I would be pissed. Am I pissed? Yes.
The two take a step forward before the door suddenly closes behind them. The girl with the witch hat raises her right hand and covers the entire room with a thin layer of mana. I noticed it was some sort of protection spell so I didn''t do anything and just watched.
"We asked around and found out that you were a pretty quiet guy back in your own world."
Said Ugly, I mean Roman.
"And not much of a fighter too~"
This time it was the kid.
Wait a second am I being Interrogated? For real? AGHH!
"But that isn''t what it looked like yesterday~"Stolen content warning: this tale belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences elsewhere.
She continued to talk to me as if waiting for a reaction. Ughh this is seriously annoying. Maybe they''ll let me go if I tell them a blatant lie?
"Oh, I don''t know what you''re talking abou-"
"CUT THE CRAP!"
Suddenly Roman swings his fist at the wooden wall, making a loud banging sound. Strange why didn''t it break? With that much strength, it would have been enough to at least damage it.
He suddenly walks up to me and grabs me by the collar of my shirt and raises me a few feet into the air while shaking me. He turns his head and looks at the girl.
"Is the spell complete yet? Your way of getting answers is way too inefficient."
"Haii~"
Good cop bad cop? I mean come on, you didn''t even let me insult you yet!
He shakes me around for a bit before starting his evil villain monologue.
"You see I''m a big fan of fighting, not so much on losing. And getting my arm broken by a punk like you is a pretty big blow to my pride y''know? So I had my friend over there cast some magic so that no one can hear you scream. Hehe"
Wow, this guys attitude went south really fast huh? Wait did he just say ''no one can hear me scream''? So that means no one can hear HIM scream...
"So you either tell us who you really are or we mak- GUELPH!"
Just before he finishes his sentence I send him flying with a kick to the stomach while at the same time swatting both his arms away from me, this made him let out a not so cute sound and sends him crashing through one of the tables in my room.
The guys face says it all, he couldn''t believe what just happened. On the other hand, the girl was calmly staring at me as if she expected this to happen. I look at her trying to see if she was going to do anything to save the poor bastard from the beating he was about to get
"Go ahead, I told him this is what was going happen~"
Huh.
I turn my head to look at Roman who''s slowly getting up
"You ready mother fucker?"
I¡¯ll be honest, I didn¡¯t expect the fucker to give me much of a fight since he didn¡¯t feel like a threat back when he hit me. Turns out he was holding back quite a bit.
We exchanged a few punches which almost bruised me. He coated his whole body with mana so it made his armor and skin harder than steel. Though this didn¡¯t stop me from beating him so much that it would take at least a month to heal with magic.
The girl that was with him just dragged his unconscious body toward the infirmary without saying a word.
After changing clothes I leave my room and walk around the castle.
After asking one of the maids it seems that my whole class excluding myself has already left to train. I was left behind! What the hell Is their deal!?
Anyways the maid said that while I was asleep their statuses were checked and were sent outside the ¡°wall¡± to train, I guess I don¡¯t need to train so I have no plans to join them any time soon.
Which reminds me that this is the first ¡®reality¡¯ that multiple people were summoned with me..that means...I CAN FINALLY RELAX!
Hell yeah! Screw fighting the demon king, I¡¯m going to explore this fantasy world while my class deals with all the usual work I''ve been given.
I immediately run towards the throne room to see the king and the prince whispering with each other...
Alright that''s fishy but I don''t care, that''s not my problem.
They slowly turn their heads to look at me before the prince stood up
"We didn''t know one of the heroes was still here...Oh, I remember you! You were the one that Roman sent flying! (prince)
The idiotic prince starts laughing but I don''t mind, he can laugh all he wants and I still wouldn''t care.
"Hey, old man! I want you to fund my tour around your world!" (Alek)
I completely ignored the idiotic prince and talked with the king.
Seeing this, the father and son pair start laughing together, saying something like me being a great comedian.
"I''m dead serious.."
". . .Ah. Well... You see even its a bit complicated. We can''t let a hero that was recently summoned to our world roam around unprotected. . ." (King)
The king gives me a valid excuse while shaking his head.
So they think I''m weak?
"But. . . If you can somehow prove your ability, we might reconsider your request. ." (king)
'' oh, you have to do this, do that'' BAH! Fuck that! I''ve been asked to ''prove'' myself so much that the dumb look on their faces after I show them my power doesn''t even satisfy me anymore... Well.. it''s not like I have a reason to hold back anymore... Right?
Chapter Four: Master
King Leoric POV
Darkness...
The whole room was covered in this eerie layer of darkness that made you feel depressed just by looking at it.
I turn my head towards the right and I could see my son next to me with the same confused look I probably have.
He was shaking in fear at the sudden turn of events
I waved my hand in the air and cast a light spell
"Guide me, wisp!"
A small ball of light materializes above my hand but the strange thing was that it didn''t help with the situation at all.
I couldn''t see the marble floor even though I placed the orb of light near my feet.
"Hey Hey I can materialize again!''''
"Yeah me too! Alek must be in trouble huh~ It''s been so long since he''s needed us"
I heard two voices echoing in the darkness, the first one belonged to a child and the other one sounded like a woman''s voice.
"Ara ara.. will ye shut yer traps for a sec! There are other people inside the room!"
''''Ahh yeah... I guess you''re right"
More voices echoed through the room, A rough sounding male voice talked with the female voice from awhile ago
"Oh, he''s moving.."
The female voice said as I hear footsteps heading towards me
"Your majesty..''''
Ah.. it was the young hero... Can he see through this darkness?
As the footsteps get closer I begin to see his outline in the darkness.. but something seems strange about him.
A while ago he seemed so full of life, excited to roam our world. But now he looks more like one of the automated maid golems that roam the castle grounds to do small tasks like cleaning.
"Ah.. young hero... something strange is going on.. this darkness is unnatural.. perhaps an attack from the demon king? It seems we have to postpone our conversation.."
I raise my hand and insert more mana into the orb of light, making it as large as an average human child.
As I do this the hero shows a troubled face as he looks at me.
"Ah... Do not worry young hero I can sustain something like this for days without rest. Although I''m a king I used to be quite the mage if I do say so myself ..hoho"This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.
I try my best to hide the fact that I too am nervous, as I try to calm the nervous hero. Someone as young as this child would certainly be afraid of sudden situations like this
"And it seems there are at least three intruders in the throne room... Ezekiel hand me, my staff"
My son that was beside me hands over a golden staff with a large red gem on the very tip of it.
"Show your selves!"
I raise my staff as a ball of fire shoots from the red gem, heading for the direction of the voices from a while ago.
I squint my eyes as I prepare for an explosion from either hitting the intruders or possibly the wall behind them...
I waited for a few seconds but nothing happened, it was as if the fireball never existed.
"Ah... Right sorry. I still had it switched on.."
The young hero suddenly spoke as he raises his hand and does a swiping movement with it.
Suddenly the darkness disappears and the scenery around me goes back to the throne room.
" W-what... You did that!? How dare you cast magic within the throne room without our permission!?" The young prince Ezekiel screamed
''Ara.. this boy really has a temper... although the sudden darkness really worried this king.''
"Silence swine."
A voice suddenly whispered next to me, then I recalled the issue about intruders! As I turn my head I see a tall man about six and a half feet tall with blond hair reaching to his elbows covering a small portion of his pointy ears holding a knife towards my son''s kneck... An elf? Why would an elf attack us? Is this betrayal by the elven union!?
Before I could even speak, a cold and uncaring voice suddenly echoed throughout the throne room.
"Stop."
The voice came from the person in front of me, the young hero Alek.
"B-But Master! He was-"
"Shutup. Are you going against my orders..?"
"A-Ah... Understood..."
The tall elf bowed his head quickly before disappearing in front of me as if melting into the shadows before appearing between 6 more people at the back of the throne room.
From the left it was a small child with Red spiky hair, On his fists were what looked like metal gauntlets with spikes at the knuckle area, his eyes were filled with fighting spirit and his overall posture told me that he was a fighter.
Next to him is a dark elf woman with silver hair reaching down to her knees. She had two curved swords strapped at her back while wearing some kind of leathery scale armor which was the same color as her skin.
Then next to the dark elf was a man with short stature but with a good build. A dwarf.. how rare... A bushy black beard extended towards the short man''s knees. A few daggers were strapped to his right leg while a large war hammer was being held upright by the dwarf.
To the right of the dwarf was a handsome looking man with short blond hair. He wore a shining white armor and held a similarly shining white kite shield on his left hand while a blade of light was at his right. A hero. That was the word that first came to mind when I saw him. He looked exactly what fairy tales would describe a hero. Handsome, dependable looking and exuded an aura of strength. Behind him were two women, one wearing a ceremonial outfit made out of expensive looking cloth while wielding a staff that seeped out a holy aura. The woman next to her was an elf with blonde hair tied into a ponytail holding a magnificent bow that was made out of bluish grey metal adorned by multiple gems.
I stood there with my mouth hanging open as I looked at the last three people in the group. HEROES! my heart screamed out. A powerful group of adventurers equipped with unbelievably strong weapons and armor. They looked exactly how I imagined heroes would look like
Every single one of them exuded strength and authority, even the red-haired child... Their levels! I couldn''t even see their levels!
If I could all of them get them on my side..!
I was filled with joy, no longer will we be terrorized by the demon king and his army, a large grin was on my face as I imagined a scenario of the three heroes return after defeating the demon king, and the military power my kingdom would have afterward.
I was in bliss, just by seeing these three I saw hope in our dire situation. But that hope did not last long as it was completely shattered by what happened next.
"Master! Please give us an order!"
The whole group which consisted of ''monsters'' lowered their heads and bowed as if they were worshiping a God. Seeing these strong individuals bow their heads was very surreal...
Their lowered heads were all directed in one direction. To us... more precisely to the young hero Alek...
Chapter Five: The Script
Inside A Forest Roughly 20 Miles From The Capital
A man wearing brown leather armor sat on top of a small boulder. Next to him, stood a woman with black hair tied into a ponytail. This girl was none other than the Class Representative.
Before they were the rest of her classmates, excluding Alek.
She clears her throat before starting her announcement.
¡°It''s been almost a month since we¡¯ve received the report about the attack on the capital which leads to the King and the Prince¡¯s grave injuries. In about a day or two, we¡¯ll arrive at the capital as support¡±
Some of the students started murmuring to each other when suddenly the armored man, Dean, stood up. He had dyed, blonde hair and an earring on his left ear; the perfect poster boy for being a playboy.
¡°Now, now, calm down. We¡¯re just going back to help with moving the debris n¡¯ stuff. ¡®kay!?¡±, he said in a dismissive tone.
Soon, the murmurs died down and the students dispersed; leaving the Class Rep. and Dean to themselves.
¡°Hey, Class Rep., what do you think happened back at the capital anyway?¡±
She shrugs nonchalantly and looks at the knights who were ordered to help them, but only when they truly needed it.
¡°The Knights haven¡¯t told me anything. Just kept saying it was some sort of monster¡¡±.
¡°Well, I guess we¡¯ll find out soon enough¡¡±
Just as they were about to go, rushed footsteps and a sudden shout caught their attention.
¡°Class Rep! Class Rep! Problem!¡± yelled the random student as he got closer.
She turns her head to look at the incoming student and notices a number of scratches on his thick, woolen robe.
¡°What''s wrong? Did something happen?¡± she asked with stern authority in her voice.
¡°The Knights! *huff*... They-¡*huff*... They¡¯re in trouble!¡± he managed to say as he caught his breath.
Dean and the Class Rep. looked at each other before nodding once. The Class Rep. took a step forward.
¡°Lead the way!¡±
As they ran towards the direction of the knights, the sound of battle rung through the air accompanied by the sound of a child¡¯s laughter.
When they reached the clearing, the scene presented truly shocked them with awe.
In the middle of the clearing stood a boy. He had red, spiky hair was wearing a black cloak, and on his fists were red metallic gauntlets with spikes placed on the area where the knuckles could be found. What shocked them though, were all the high-level knights, who were lent to them by the king as guardians, surrounding him and beaten to a pulp on the floor.
Their armors were dented, swords in pieces, and shields were broken. Some were even knocked out while others were simply lying on the ground while letting out pained moans.
Only one knight was left standing. A level 70 Knight Captain; one of the kings most trusted knights. He swung his sword aiming towards the child¡¯s head. His attack was so fast that even we, with our heightened senses, could only see it as nothing but a blur.
¡°Martial skill: Crescent swing!¡± the Knight Captain yelled as he brought his blade down.
His sword was suddenly covered in red energy which increased the speed of his swing to the point that we couldn¡¯t even see the sword as it sliced through the air. I instinctively closed my eyes; anticipating the inevitable death of his young opponent.
*CLANG!*
The sound of metal hitting metal reverberated through the forest just as I had closed my eyes.
¡®Eh? The kid managed to parry his swing!? What amazing speed!¡¯ -Class Rep.
But, as soon as I opened my eyes, I realized just how much I had underestimated the child.
Before me was the young boy with spiky, red hair; his left hand covering his mouth as he yawned while his right hand was raised in the air, holding the Knight Captain¡¯s sword between his index and middle finger like it was a mere toothpick.
¡°M-Monster!¡± the knight captain exclaimed in fear.
¡°Huh? That was it? So much for the Captain ¡±
The boy flicked his arm and sent the Knight Captain flying towards a tree, knocking him out.
The child tilted his head, staring at the two who had just arrived.
¡°Ooh~ More people!¡±, he said in a jovial tone.¡±
¡°You.¡± he said as he pointed his gauntlet at Dean. ¡°You look stronger than those pesky knights fight me!¡±
¡°Ha? You wanna fight me!? Hmph! Suit yourself!¡±
This idiot!
I quickly grab him by the shoulder and pull him back.
¡°Oi! Are you brain-dead!? Don¡¯t you notice anything strange about him?¡±
¡°I know, I know! He beat the knights, but I can beat the knights too! Trust me. Even though I¡¯m at a lower level than the knights, I could still win.¡±
¡°It¡¯s not that you idiot! Look at him and concentrate! You can¡¯t see his level at all! Not just that; even his name and title can¡¯t be seen by using ¡®identify¡®!¡±
As the two of us whispered to each other. the spiky hair child suddenly clicked his tongue.
¡°Tch. What, you ain¡¯t comin¡¯? Well¡ If you¡¯re not gonna go first, then I will!"This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.
As soon as he finished, he suddenly dashed towards us¡ No, it wouldn¡¯t do it justice if I called it as just a ¡®dash¡®.
It was more like he teleported in front of us; he was that fast.
He pulled his right hand back before sending a punch towards Deans face.
Even though I was right next to him, I couldn¡¯t do anything about the incoming attack. Even Dean couldn¡¯t react fast enough to dodge it and he has the highest level in our whole class!
I closed my eyes and so did Dean, bracing for impact¡
¡°Asura, that¡¯s enough.¡±
Suddenly, a voice echoed through the forest.
As I slowly open my eyes, I see the red gauntlet inches away from Deans face, it seems that just the shockwave from the boy''s strike blew dean''s hair backward. Dean, on the other hand, was sweating all over, his breathing rough.
¡°Tch¡ you got lucky.¡± The red-haired youth would say in annoyance
As I raise my head to look at the origin of the voice, I see seven hooded figures standing on top of different tree branches. They were all wearing black cloaks that hid even their feet. A very tall one; a short, but wide one; and four others with average height. The last of the group, however, had his hood lowered; showing his entire face. It was Alek, the classmate we deemed unneeded. Why was he with them!?
¡°Come, we need to go.¡±
The spiky, red-haired boy, Asura, nods his head and jumps towards one of the branches before covering half of his face with his own hood.
¡°Arcana: Mirage¡±
One of the people in the hooded group suddenly casts a spell and all eight of them start to become transparent and fade from vision.
From the start of the spell until they were completely invisible, Alek stared at me with his cold emotionless eyes.
Throughout the journey back we received a few casualties. Aside from the ones brought upon us by that red hair martial artist we encountered several magical beasts that the whole class had to team up on just to fend off. Two boys and a girl were injured. Luckily only the knights were injured by the martial artist so the healers were there to patch us up.
As we near the capital we could clearly see a giant fist made of stone sticking out from the center of the castle. Other than that there seem to be nothing else.
My meeting with Alek''s group gives me a feeling that they''re the cause of this. Did he sell us out? A traitor? Or maybe they''re controlling him¡ That''s it! They''re controlling him!
Then that means that idiot fell into a trap¡ Even though he''s useless we need to save him. Losing even just one of our classmates will raise many questions once we get back to our own world.
After beating this demon king or whatever we''ll get back home¡ and I''ll get back to my normal everyday life... that''s right.
Inside the castle
Little witch POV.
With a light knock on the door, the head of a young knight peeks into the throne room where I, the king and his elite guards are planning out what to do. As we hear the knock we all turn our heads towards the young knight, feeling the pressure of our stares he begins to stutter.
¡°Your Highness¡ Th-The heroes are b-back¡±
With a simple nod of the kings head the young knight quickly did a small bow before running out of the room.
¡°We will continue our discussion together with the heroes. Take them here to the throne room¡± (king)
¡°Well, you heard the man!¡± A man with a large muscular frame, a well-kept handlebar mustache on his face shouts as he places a hand on top of the hilt of his sword. This man is the king''s nephew and also the captain of the elite guards. Drunn. Compared to the captain of the normal guard force his strength and the number of martial skills he is able to perform makes the regular guard captain look like a child swinging his sword around.
With his shout, five elite guards march out of the room.
Drunn turns his head towards me, a dissatisfied look on his face.
¡°And? Where were you when all this happened. Are the rumors true? Is the youngest court mage in the kingdom still an irresponsible child? Leaving our king to fend for himself. What are you doing little witch?¡± (Drunn)
Clicking my tongue I turn to him
¡°Watch your mouth. I was out collecting materials for the heroes. Who could have known that there was a traitor amongst them? And I have a name, you idiot. It''s Annastatia!¡± (Annastatia)
With a grunt, Drunn turns to face the door as it opens. A group of young adults march in, a few are bandaged up but are in no life-threatening danger and it seems they''ve all grown with the short time they''ve been outside the castle walls. Some leveled up to 30 within that short amount of time¡ Really.. this is cheating. Wish I had that every time I restart.
Doing a practiced bow, the whole class pays respect to the king
¡°We''ve returned!¡±
With a small nod from the king the whole class stands up/
¡°It seems all of you have grown stronger since the last we''ve met. This is good¡± (King)
At first glance, the king would look fine but underneath his robes, his whole body is covered in bandages and several healing runes. Showing the heroes such a weak old man would be shameful according to him so he had the healers work their butts off just so he could walk around for a day.
¡°As you were told, we were attacked. By a group of vile creatures taking the form of normal everyday people. Do not be fooled, they are monsters who merely look like people. Along with their attack, they took one of your own. One of your classmates. Even though our valiant knights managed to fend them off they were still able to control the mind of one of your own and for that, we are truly sorry.¡± (king)
A few gasps could be heard from the group as the king reads out the script prepared for him. A string of lies to convince the heroes along with any other country keeping a close watch on us. Obviously, once they spot weakness they''d take that chance and attack.
With the king''s apology, a few of the heroes shake their head, saying it was okay. Or how he wasn''t of any use anyway. If only they knew¡
¡°Do not fret. A few of my elite knights will accompany you this time. Along with our strongest court mage Annastatia to help get your friend back¡± (King)
Pointing to me I do I small bow.
A few cheers could be heard from the group along with whispers
Clearing his throat to silence the crowd the king puts on a frown. Again, according to the script.
¡°I''m sorry to inform you but there is more bad news.. As you may know, my kingdom is small. Compared to the rest of the world we could be considered as a small but stable kingdom who is not much of a threat. Once the other kingdoms heard of our hero summoning. They sent spies into our country, somehow managing to steal the information regarding it and summoned their own heroes!¡± (king)
More gasps could be heard. Soon worried whispers could be heard. The leader of the heroes, a girl with glasses and a ponytail stood up.
¡°Then couldn''t we work together to beat the demon king?¡± (Class rep)
The king lets out a sigh
¡°If only it were that simple. If by chance another group of heroes defeats the demon king before you Then the chance of returning you back home would be zero!¡±
In other parts of the world, the biggest and strongest kingdoms each performed a summoning ritual to summon their own heroes. An odd collection ranging from one or two people up to a whole group of 15 strong individuals. Apparently, it was all up to luck on how many they get. Some of the more unfortunate ones managed to summon evil beings such as Necromancers, Mass murderers, and even minor demon lords. Least to say these kingdoms were either demolished or taken over quite easily by the summoned ''heroes''.
All of the summoned knew that they only had one chance to get back to where ever they were taken from. To kill the demon lord first was their goal, it was all or nothing.
Somewhere in the kingdom of Despin
Three figures appear in the middle of a giant magic circle. One was a woman wearing full plate armor, the armor was made so that it would hide her face but not her feminine curves.
The other twos genders were unidentifiable. A large muscular humanoid creature wearing full plate, a great sword attached to its back as well as rough breathing echoing inside its metal helmet. The other one was short but had pointy ears, blue eyes, and long blonde hair that reached up to their hip along with an androgynous face, a thin curved blade tied to their hip.
The kingdom of Despin was a knights kingdom, hence the people surrounding the magic summoning circle were some of the strongest and most hot-blooded people in the country, Ranging from veteran knights to the highest ranked adventurers they represented the best of the best. So as soon as they laid eyes on the three in the center of the room, they knew¡ Strong... That was one of the words that came into mind along with Monsters and Masters. Their posture, the atmosphere around them, even the simple way they stood and looked at the men around them as if they were children holding sticks. Each and every one of them inside the room had goosebumps as their instincts kept telling them to run away, but oddly enough none left. Scared that they might anger the three monstrous things in front of them.
Then suddenly the woman in armor started laughing
¡°Hahaha, it worked! It really worked!"
Chapter Six: The Chess Piece
Class president pov
Three months after our return to the kingdom, the preparations for our expedition are finally complete, chain mail armor made out of rare metals, single-use pendants that could not only dispel poison but block a fatal attack as well, and weapons enchanted to the brim making them sharper and more durable. In a sense, we''re being treated at the same level as royalty with all these protective artifacts covering our body...
That little girl¡ Err Annastatia I mean.. it seems that she''s the one that collected most of the materials used on our equipment¡ could it be that shes actually pretty powerful? I hope so... she''s the only mage accompanying us in our journey after all.. well... other than the healers at least.
The morning of the next day, fifteen members of our class stood near the collection of carriages outside the castle walls, why only fifteen you ask? Well, it seems that after encountering a few life or death situations at the last expedition a few of us have decided to focus on raising their crafting skills instead, seemingly being convinced that they simply weren''t suited for battle. I wouldn''t call it cowardly, it''s better for them to focus on something else rather than be a hindrance in the battlefield. Who knows, with the blessings given to us maybe a few of the craftsmen in our class could one day make things such as divine weaponry or Elixers that can revive the dead... ah... I''m getting ahead of myself.. well this is just me being optimistic I suppose.
Dean made a fuss out of it at first but we managed to calm him down and convince him that we needed craftsmen as well... really that guy is troublesome to deal with but it can''t be helped since he''s one of the most skilled in handling the sword after all.. other than Edgar who somehow awakened his interest in using the bow, according to the elite knights it seems he''s quite skilled in it too.. As for me... erm, I suppose I''m more of a jack of all trades, I can do many things but I''m not the best at any of them¡ I hope I awaken my own talent soon...
(do your best class rep..)
Annastatia pov
Fifteen huh.. well I suppose the smaller the group the easier it is to handle and train them, plus it seems that the ones gathered here are the most motivated to grow stronger, one of them excels at using a sword while another one surprisingly has tremendous talent with the bow. This is my first time dealing with summoned but isn''t it a bit unfair? They get to keep their original appearance as well as have god given talent.. while people like me... Sigh.. well brooding over it isn''t going to help
With the sound of a horn being blown the regular knights, as well as a few elites, begin to gather along with their squires which are carrying some of their equipment. Most of the soldiers gathered here today are all very exceptional when it comes to battle but of course, there are a few useless nobles who sneaked in thinking that they could simply not do anything most of the time while letting the other knights do most of the work¡ well, that would have been the case if we were after regular targets.. that powerful earth magic alone is enough to cause issues but I could probably imitate it¡ with enough time¡ probably. Anyways my point is.. if we ever have to confront the rogue student¡ no.. how could something like that be human... If the caravan were to encounter that ''thing'' before the summoned are prepared then I''m given orders to risk my life to let the summoned escape... Even though I wasn''t planning early on this run but if it comes to that then there''s no helping it I guess... I just have to hope that, that ''thing'' keeps its distance.. while we train the summoned to the point where they''d be able to take him on...
Within the throne room of the desert kingdom Alhem, an eerie silence drifted about as the smell of blood still lingered within the room. On the golden throne sat a man with a large frame, his tanned skin and silver hair would make him stand out in any situation. He wore nothing to cover his torso, instead, a thick gold necklace hung around his neck as well as a golden choker, both having a faint layer of light covering them indicating the mana infused within the accessories.Unauthorized use: this story is on Amazon without permission from the author. Report any sightings.
The sound of the man tapping the armrest of the throne broke the silence as the attention of everyone gathered in the room turned to him. Within the room people various types of people were gathered, ranging from the head of the royal guard to the top council members of the kingdom itself. Other than the king and his family everyone of importance was gathered within the throne room, by now any surviving members of the royal family has either run away or was killed the moment the man with silver hair was summoned in the throne room, the heads of the king, his wife, and their eldest son were displayed outside the castle walls stuck up on pikes.
¡°So..¡± He''d mutter, pausing for a moment to finalize his thoughts ¡°If I were to believe the information I''ve been given.. then most if not all of the kingdoms within this continent all learned of the summoning ritual? And are using it to summon heroes of their own?¡±
A long moment of silence appeared, uneasiness apparent on the faces of the people within the room. As the silver-haired man grew impatient, a black flame started to envelop his right hand. The thrones golden armrest started to melt and deform, the sight of which made the ministers panic even more before one of them stepped forward. A rather fat man with an overgrown beard reaching up to his stomach. With a stiff bow, the man covered in cold sweat began to speak.
¡°Y-yes your hi-highness Cyrus.. our mages research finally made results as they figured out a way to summon powerful beings.. s-such as your self.. from other wo-¡±
The councilors words were suddenly interrupted by the silver-haired man named Cyrus
¡°DON''T BULLSHIT ME!¡±
With his shout, the people within the throne room all shriveled up especially the fat councilor who was interrupted. As no one else spoke an unsettling silence covered the room once more as Cyrus began to organize his thoughts.
''They''re mages managed to figure out a way to make a summoning circle? Bah! What bull shit is that? The only ones who could make a summoning circle strong enough would be a someone at least at the level of a minor god. In all of history, any magic circle used to summon a hero was provided by a minor god through an oracle.. and to preserve balance within their world they would only provide one or two.. and you''re telling me they gave everyone a summoning circle? Bullshit! And besides, if all they wanted to do was kill the demon king, one or two summoning circles would have been fine..fuck!''
The more the man thought about the situation, the angrier he got. To the point where the thrones golden hand rest was crushed without him knowing
'' This is my sixth time being summoned and I''m sick and tired of it.. having to beat another demon king to go back home and not just that, having to compete against other summoned for that ticket home? Fuck! It''s all their fault!¡±
Cyrus would suddenly lift his head, glaring at the several people within the throne room. Just from his glare alone, one would hear panicked cries and men shaking in their boots
¡°OUT! ALL OF YOU!¡±
With this simple command, everyone but Cyrus ran out of the throne room, a look of relief on most of their faces, as they left him alone with his thoughts.
'' Did this worlds minor god actually fuck up this badly..? No¡ maybe not.. I feel like there are other powers working behind the scenes.. repeaters maybe..? Tch.. those freaks cause problems wherever they reincarnate so I wouldn''t be surprised if they were the cause of all this..''
Cyrus'' eyes begin to glow as he finishes his inner monologue. The multiple accessories on his body also giving a faint glow as he tilts his head upwards, the lights originating from him and his body would grow stronger and stronger until the entire room was covered in a blinding light.
As the magical spectacle was happening within the throne room, the ground around the royal palace begun to shake, growing in strength by the second. With a loud snapping sound, the ground beneath the castle would suddenly begin to rise upwards. Nobles and commoners alike clung to whatever they could hold on to as the shaking grew stronger and stronger... By the time the earthquake like event ended the people inside the castle all ran outside in fear of another earthquake destroying the building they were in, only to find out that there was nowhere else to go. The castle, a few feet of land around it was now floating about a hundred feet above the capital.
Back in the throne room, Cyrus sat on the throne silently, his glowing eyes gazing forward as he cast clairvoyance magic to guide the floating castle''s movement.
"Dare use me as a piece for your chess game? Think again..."
Chapter Seven: The Summoned Vs. The Repeater (Part 1)
Annastasia POV
The usual jovial mood of the group flips as they leave the safety of the castle walls, a few nervous ticks appearing on some of the students such as fidgeting and eye twitching, some even murmur to themselves in order to calm their rapidly beating hearts. Although they are relatively new to our world, the fifteen summoned heroes have gone through several life and death battles over the past four months, helping them reach an average level of 50 in their group of fighters; enough to be enlisted as a Beginner knight in a well-off kingdom.
Seeing as their rate of growth is stable, the main purpose for this excursion¡ªother than searching for leads for their missing classmate¡ªis to promote the strength and morality of our kingdoms summoned heroes. By completing tasks ranging from helping exterminate magical beasts troubling a village all the way to hunting down roadside bandits, from these small requests we not only gain reputation but also give these greenhorns experience.
Soon they''ll hit their first Class selection at level 60. Hopefully, by then, some of their talents for magic awaken so we can finally get some magicians into their party of 15. So far we have Seven melee classes led by the one with dyed blond hair, Dean. The quiet boy named Edgar leads the five long-range fighters, some specializing in bows the others specialize in the dwarven made rifles, and the three remaining students don''t have any talents that stand out but are good at covering what their teammates lack; a jack of all trades sort of group. The three-man squad is led by the entire group''s leading figure, their class representative called Kyung-Mi, she''s called a few nicknames by those close to her though she prefers being called class rep, or simply captain.
For the past two days, we''ve stayed in this small village waiting for the local bandits to collect their ''protection fees''. The village chief asked for our help as we were passing by and the class rep happily agreed. Just as we were about to change shifts for the perimeter patrol the signal for incoming bandits rang out, a knight positioned near the exit of the forest holding a gong kept repeatedly hitting it to alarm us of the incoming trouble as he ran back to safety behind the village walls.
As everyone gets into position, the bandit group slowly comes into view. All riding sturdy looking horses, most of the bandits wear the typical bandit attire: dirty, damaged, and made of animal hide. There is only one exception; she seems to be wearing unusual scale armor, her fiery red hair is tied to a ponytail as she rides towards the village, and she rides with a confident grin plastered on her face.
As soon as they passed the open village gates, we all went into action. Wooden spikes suddenly rose from the ground in front of them, halting the charge of their horses as the melee fighter squad along with the knights quickly surrounded every possible escape route. The archers and riflemen, on the other hand, prepared to fire in case the bandits didn''t follow their instructions.Stolen novel; please report.
As the de facto leader of the operation, I quickly hop down from a nearby tree, staff in hand as I prepare a spell¡ªaimed at the bandit leader.
"Lay down your weapons and surrender!"
The red-haired bandit leader quickly dismounts her horse, whilst skillfully drawing her blade as she lands on the forest floor.
"And what''s a child doing here..?" She pauses. "Not a child? A repeater maybe?"
Repeater... that''s a phrase summoned use to call my kind... maybe she''s...? Her words put me on high alert as I signal the others to prepare for battle; only to be interrupted by the female bandit leader.
"Don''t even try it, kid. You''ve barely settled in that body and you already want to fight someone like me? Hah," with a short chuckle, a thin layer of mana quickly covers her entire body as she casts a support type spell.
"Buff: Warsong!"
The chant is too short for me to interrupt. An equally thin layer of mana covers her bandit allies and boosts their abilities to fall well above those of someone of their level.
Since I couldn''t interrupt her chant, I decide to attack instead; casting my own spell towards their group to signal the attack.
"Arcana: Fireball II"
As I finish casting my spell a volleyball-sized fireball quickly flew towards the redhead bandit, the students and knights engaging with the rest of the bandits. It seems that I''m left with a 1 on 1 on my hands...
"Buff: Iron Skin II"
With another glimmer of light covering her body, she further strengthened herself before dashing towards me, sword raised upwards prepared to strike me down.
I quickly cast my own buff magic to strengthen my relatively weak, childish, body.
"Buff: Ogre Strength I"
With a quick coating of mana around my body, my strength was enough to parry her attack, raising my staff to deflect her incoming swing. After taking a step back from the clash I''d twirl my staff around before holding it with both hands, pointing it towards the red-haired bandit.
"A Warmage huh..? That''s rare" She''d say with a smirk before charging forward once more, casting a quick spell as she drew closer.
"Martial Move: Illusionary Strike!"
Her horizontal swing quickly split up into three different attacks, coming from above, as well as both my sides. I quickly hold onto one of the rings on my fingers, a flash of light coming from the ring before a circular layer of mana surrounded my body, receiving the attack for me similar to a magical shield.
The pain caused by the collision seemed to be enough for the female bandit to quickly back away, giving me enough room to prepare for my next spell.
Her previous cocky demeanor seems to have disappeared as she took on a more serious stance, her free hand doing a few magical gestures before a bright magic circle appeared above it, forming a glowing magical roundshield covered in magical inscriptions.
"Enough games child. Either you step down, and leave this place now or I kill you and your little group of greenhorns"
I simply stared at her in silence as I formed spell structures in my head. My eyes darting about, taking greater precaution so that nothing unexpected like her previous attack would happen again.
"So be it."
With these last remarks, the glowing magical shield suddenly glowed even stronger, several streaks of light coming out of the round shield and hitting the bandits she was with. With a few pained groans, you could see the bandits rapidly age and turn into mummified corpses. This sudden turn of events shocked not only me but the students as well, not only does this woman have levels in warrior, she also has levels in a support class as well as dark magic!
"This is the last time you underestimate a summoned, you brat!" (Bandit leader)
Chapter 8: The Summoned Vs. The Repeater (Part 2)
"This is the last time you underestimate a summoned, you brat!"
Having lost an opponent, the students start to form a prepared formation for fighting something they called a ''raid boss''
With Dean''s melee fighter squad in the front along with the knights, they charge in with a V formation, planning to surround her while the class rep along with the ranged fighters starts shooting.
With all the projectiles coming her way it was surprising to see her gracefully avoid each and every one, but it kept her busy long enough for the Melee fighters to surround her.
"Surrender! You''re surrounded and I''d rather not have to hurt a pretty lady like you!" (Dean)
Really.. at such a situation only Dean would still try to flirt with an enemy... Hearing Dean''s command the red-haired bandit simply let out a mocking chuckle
"You really know nothing about fighting Summoned do you boy?"
As she spoke, a thin layer of mana covered her body once more, hearing no chant means that she''s simply strengthening her body by flowing mana into it instead of a buffing spell... Wait, that means she wasn''t mana boosting from the very start!?
"Dean get aw-" (Annastasia)
I couldn''t finish my sentence before the bandit leader shot forward at an incredible speed, swinging at Dean horizontally aiming to cut his body in half.
Luckily, what the boy lacks in intelligence he balances out with his pure talent in battle, His instincts kicked in at the right time as he was able to jump back far enough for the blade to miss its target completely.
"Tch" Seeing that her attack missed, the bandit leader clicked her tongue, using the momentum of her failed attack to spin around, slamming her magical roundshield downward towards the vulnerable Dean.
Class Rep POV
"DEAN!"
I shout as the shield manages to connect to its target. Although Dean managed to block it with his now bent short sword, an indentation was still left on the ground underneath him, showing just how much force was in that attack.

Chains of light shoot out from several floating magic circles around the small witch, all wrapping around the red-haired bandit leader to stop her movements. Taking this opportunity, one of the nearby knights quickly carry the injured Dean away from danger.
"Hurry! Take her down!" (Annastasia)
That''s right! We this is our chance! I quickly go to command our long ranged fighters to fire
"Fire! Take her down!"
Even with the chains stopping her movements she was able to shift her body so that the arrows and metal balls didn''t hit her vital spots. The buffing magic she previously cast on herself keeping her body from getting seriously hurt.
She would continue to struggle for a moment before her body slumps forward lifelessly, a few of the students flinching thinking she just died.
"Don''t relax just yet!" (Annastasia)
With her reminder, everyone raised their weapons. Eyes glued to the body wrapped up in magic chains. A moment of silence would pass before a gasp escapes Annastasia''s mouth, a glimmer of light would come from her eyes as she covers it with mana
"There''s no soul in that body...The corpses!"
She quickly retracted the magical chains before running towards the dried up bandit corpses, a lifeless sigh escaping from her mouth as one of the corpses was missing.
2 hours later in the village
The party sat around the campfire, an exhausted look still on Annastasia''s face
"I can''t believe it.. why didn''t I think about that possibility... I''m such an idiot" (Annastasia)
"Don''t beat yourself up over it, we were all fooled... Besides, thanks to you Dean is alive" (Class Rep)
"I know.. but still" She''d pause "I never expected to fight someone like that, I mean what''s up with that anyway! A swordsman with Support magic and necromancy!? That''s just unfair!" (Annastasia)
Seeing her reveal a bit of childishness brought out a few chuckles from the others around her.
"But what was up with her anyway...? She was obviously outnumbered but she still decided to attack Dean, isn''t that kind of stupid?" (Class Rep)
"Hmmm... Oh! Maybe she wanted to transfer to Dean''s body... It''d be hard for you guys to fight if it was a fellow classmate right?" (Annastasia)
The group nodded in agreement
"That was her original plan and we were totally oblivious to it... If She succeeded it would have been a massive loss for us" (Annastasia)
"What was that even about? I know what a summoned is, but whats a repeater?" (Class Rep)
"Well.." She''d hesitate for a moment "A repeater is a term summoned use to call my kind" (Annastasia)
"Your kind..? Like the people living on this planet?" (Class Rep)
"No, no um I mean.. By my kind I meant Reincarnators... ''Repeater'' is like an insult that the summoned like to use" (Annastasia)
The surroundings immediately quieted down, not a single sound could be heard from the people around the campfire. Before the students screamed in perfect synchronization.
"You''ve reincarnated!?"
The small girl covered her ears, not expecting all the shouting
"Agh! Yes! So stop shouting ouch! I completely forgot that you guys are new summoned!" (Annastasia)
"New summoned? Does that mean there are others that have been summoned more than once?" (Class Rep)
"Sure! There are times where a person is only summoned once but most of the time a summoned person would be summoned again after a few years" (Annastasia)
"What the heck... So does that mean even if we get back home we might be summoned again in the future?" (Class Rep)
"Well... I can''t tell you for sure. This is the first time I''ve heard of an entire Class being summoned. Usually its two or three people, plus there''s..." She''d pause as she remembers the issue of tracking down Alek "Ah.. nothing, anyways let this encounter be a reminder for you guys. There''re summoned out there who''re way stronger than you, we were lucky to encounter an oddity like that red-haired woman. I''d assume that she focused more on abilities that would help her escape rather than fighting skills. In most cases that you meet another summoned, Run away. You cant take them on alone at your current level" (Annastasia)
"And how about people like you? Repeat- Ehem I mean Reincarnators?" (Class Rep)
"Same case. Well, most Reincarnators are pretty lowkey and simply want to live their life peacefully. So as long as you don''t mess with them then it''ll be fine" (Annastasia)
"Alright, We''ll keep that in mi-" (Class Rep)
Her words were cut short when a sudden crashing sound came from the village chiefs house, the house where the injured Dean was being held in!

Hello author here.
A few months ago I decided that the premise of the story that I wrote almost 4 years ago was a bit too basic and childish hence I decided to re write the story entirely. My mind.. my soul... They''re tired...
Even when my body continues to move forward I¡¯ve become exhausted mentally from years of never-ending stress...
Of course, I cannot express such emotions. The moment that some of my emotions manage to leak out, that thing cuts it off... after all a hero doesn''t need to feel emotions, a hero only needs to continue marching forward, swinging his sword at Humanity''s enemies.
I¡¯m tired.
As morbid as it¡¯d sound, I''ve tried to take my own life several times before...
but it keeps stopping me... Preventing me from getting what I want...My body is too tough to die and even when I¡¯m asleep it keeps me safe from danger.
At one point I thought that after all of this I would finally be free... finally, be happy.
I had friends helping me through my journey, but even they were eventually left behind by the hero that was growing stronger every second.
The more time passes the more I realize that I¡¯m no longer human... at least not in a conventional way.
I no longer need to sleep, eat, or even piss. My entire body has been made into a perfect machine to climb the tower...
What floor was I on again..? Three hundred? Four? I can''t remember..
what I do remember is I¡¯ve long passed the last human settlement in the tower. All that I''ve found are demons, and ruins of previous civilizations.Unauthorized usage: this tale is on Amazon without the author''s consent. Report any sightings.
Demons... That''s what the humans of this world call them- to me they just look like humans with horns and different skin, even in a fantasy world like this discrimination is still a thing.
Apparently, Demons originally lived in Gaia along with all the other races, but their king who was an all-powerful wizard tried to become a God himself made this tower with his near-limitless magical power making a pseudo alternate world.
The gods that saw this felt threatened by the king''s powers that were slowly creeping up to near godlike levels and decided to stop him once and for all, banishing the king''s soul to the void where nothing, not even gods could exist.
And as a warning banished the king''s entire race into the tower that he made along with their empires riches.
At first, that was the purpose of the tower, a prison for the Demon race, but not long after, the Gods got bored and played cruel games with the tower''s inhabitants.
They summoned unthinkable monsters that would wipe out the world outside the tower numerous times just to see the Demons cower in fear... but they didn''t, they fought back the waves of monsters and grew stronger, using that new gained strength to climb the tower that they were imprisoned in... but where there¡¯s power there¡¯s greed, and some of the Demons decided to climb down the tower instead, eventually reaching bottom-most floor that leads to the outside world.
The moment they stepped out they met fierce resistance against the now highly religious people of Gaia that were taught from birth that the Demons were the enemy and must be eliminated... and so they fought.
This war lasted for years until the humans were pushed back into their capital cities, the demons who grew in strength due to the tower overwhelming the humans and their allies with brute strength.
Desperate, the humans prayed to their gods for help... and this is where I come in... Well, my predecessors at least.
The heroes were God''s solution to the demon crisis, they would summon those with powerful souls from other worlds and bless them with tremendous strength.
Each god sent a representative to help push the demon race back to the tower, even the god of death and pestilence had one albeit being a bit twisted due to their patron¡¯s personality
Even with their tremendous god-given strength it still took years of fighting to finally push the demons back into the tower, finally ending the decades-old war.
And now we¡¯re here, nearly 30 years after the war where the humans have started sending heroes and adventurers into the tower to gain riches and power all under the guise of ¡°reclaiming¡± lost land from the demons.
I¡¯m sick of climbing..sick of fighting.. sick of.. people. I just want this to end...
As I say that I¡¯m met with a giant of a man- er, demon. It looks like they''ve given up on sending their armies to fight me and instead decided to send in the elite to try and stop me.
Just from his horns that twisted around his head with a black luster, I could tell that he was strong... at the very least stronger than anyone I¡¯ve faced before.
As I raise my sword I let out one more exhausted sigh... Here we go again.
