 Chapter 001 - Acts of Bravery

    "MmmmoooaaaahhhhhhHHNNNNNNNNNNN!"

    After cracking his bones, Amano Ryuuya got out of his bed. He went towards the bathroom in his dorm room while yawning. He was never a morning person and had trouble waking up. That is why he was walking unstably. He struggled to find the light switch for a while and punched it on once he found it.


    His black hair was a total mess. It was as if he fought with the bed while sleeping and it got a hold of his hair. The light was blinding enough for him as it hit his black eyes, he wanted to close them. He looked around absentmindedly and closed the door behind him.


    His daily routine started with a hot shower to wake up properly. He tried to take a cold one once but as the cold water touched his skin, Ryuuya jumped and almost broke the shower curtain as he held it to not fall.


    After a quick shower, Ryuuya prepared a humble breakfast with first class(!) instant noodles with gourmet(!) juice accompanying it with his usual grumpy face. He ate it pretty fast and changed his clothes. After one last stretch, he left his dorm room and locked the door behind him.


    Ryuuya was a student at the prestigious TYRENT Academy. This academy was the best regarding the current society. It was established 3 years after D-Day. It was the day when the sky split apart. It was the day the whole world changed all together. On that faithful day, The Eye gazed upon the Earth and a strange light enveloped the entirety of the planet. It was just for an instant but it felt like eternity.


    After that day the world fell into chaos. Seven regions became inhospitable because of strange cracks of light. From these cracks, ''They'' came. ''They'' only showed themselves as silhouettes of light but you could feel their chilling gaze deep within your soul. ''They'' started to threaten the very existence of humanity with their immeasurable power. Just a single look was enough to instill fear. They never killed willingly. Only the weak hearted people died because of fear. ''They'' only gave power to seven random people.


    These seven people then went and established the 7 Clans around the world, under the guidance of ''Them''. These clans were: Heaven''s Light, Infernals, The Purged, Core of Nature, Cape of Spirits, Bloodlust and the Dark Guild. Among these seven, Heaven''s Light, Infernals and the Purged were the most powerful and thus ruled the other four.


    But the chosen were not only limited to these 7. They were chosen by the most powerful of their realm. Other people were chosen as well, by the underlings and servants of these all mighty entities. So began a new age where the strong ruled the weak. In the chaos following this incident, several influential figures decided there was a need to keep these powers in check. With the help of the 7 Families, they established academies around the world. TYRENT was among the most influential after 20 years.


    Amano Ryuuya entered this academy with a special scholarship. He earned his place with hard work and years of studying. His family owned a dojo so he knew martial arts as well but in this society where superpowers run amok, his skills were not that important anymore. Even after 20 years, there were still people that were not chosen no matter what they did. And unfortunately, Amano family was among them. Yes, Ryuuya had no power so he had to work extra to earn his place. But the Academy was completely different from elementary or middle school. In this academy, violence was encouraged to some degree. As long as students did not critically injure one another, teachers looked the other way. And thanks to his scholarship, Ryuuya was able to stay out of trouble for the time being. His scholarship was granted to him by the principal himself so nobody dared to hurt him too much. Even the teachers were incapable of acting as they wished.


    That is why Ryuuya did not have friends, except for one. He was an introverted kid that aspired a different structure of society. One where he did not have to be bullied because of being powerless. His only friend was kind of like him in this aspect. He did not shun him out because of his powerlessness. On the contrary, he approached him because of that. He was also disliked by many because of his unique personality. And he was currently smiling ear to ear and waving to Ryuuya.


    "Ooooi! Ryuuu!"


    His pace was somewhat fast as he was taking big steps towards Ryuuya. He put strength to his arm as he put it on Ryuuya''s shoulder and hit him.


    "''Sup?"


    "Hey man. Cheerful as always?"


    "You know it! Hey you gotta help me man! I totally forgooooh!"


    "Haah! Seriously Katsuki."


    This person was Akagi Katsuki. A member of the Fire Branch of Core of Nature. His family had the ability to control fire, and so could he. He had the typical physicality of his family. Hair as red as fire and orange eyes. His height was average considering his age. Even though he was coming from a prominent family, when he was supposed to act all reserved and proud, he never cared for all that. He was currently eyeing a girl''s ass as she walked past. He was a pervert through and through.


    "You really shouldn''t do that."


    "Why do you care?"


    "You currently have your arm around my neck."

    Katsuki acted like he did not care at all. And to be frank, he really didn''t! His orange eyes did not contain any hesitation what-so-ever! That was why even the family didn''t consider him as a successor no matter what. Because he had above average skill with his control over fire, the family did not banish him either.


    They walked towards the school building like that, talking about various things. It was their usual selves. Ryuuya would grumble and Katsuki would try to cheer him up with his ridiculous personality, pointing occasionally to a nearby girl. Of course Ryuuya was not interested in acting like Katsuki but he still did not bat an eye on how he was acting. He was his sole friend after all!


    They reached their classroom without a hitch and took sat down to wait for the homeroom. They a bit early as usual and there were other students as well. Some were looking at them and laughing but this was a daily thing now. They were long used to it. Ryuuya because he had no power and Katsuki because he frequently hanged out with him.


    "Why do you put up with them?"


    "Because I have no power?"


    "I told you many times, I can take care of them for you!"


    "Leave it. Just some trash."


    "Man¡­"

    "Alright take your seats everyone!"


    Their teacher entered the classroom and started the homeroom. He put his books to the pedestal and looked at the students. All of their gazes were on him. He was a middle aged man with spectacles and short hair. He was looking around as if he did not have any enthusiasm at all. He had pale skin and crimson eyes, general characteristics of the Bloodlust Clan.


    This clan had the power of controlling blood of every living creature. They had the most control over their blood naturally and varying degrees of control over others according to one''s potential. They had crimson eyes and pale skin color, like the vampires of the old. Of course they did not hate garlic and the Cross.


    "Good morning everyone. As you all know, the school tournament is 4 months away so I hope you are all preparing accordingly. You all have some experience from last year so my expectations are quite high."


    "Don''t worry sir! We won''t disappoint you."


    "I like your enthusiasm. Other than that, we have a new student joining us today."


    "Sir!"


    A girl raised her hand with a flash and stood up without waiting for the teacher to call out before asking with a serious look on her face.


    "Is it a boy?"


    The teacher looked around the class, looking at the expectant faces of the students. He bid his time to build up tension. After around half a minute or so, he smiled and talked.


    "Unfortunately, they are a ''she''."


    With that declaration all the boys, save for Ryuuya, rejoiced and the girls were dejected. While all this was going on the student in question entered the classroom. Her long hair and fair skin were reminders of the snowy lands up north. Her eyes were as chilly as the winter breeze. Her stature radiating nobility and her expression expressing her pride.


    "Would you like to introduce yourself?"


    "I''m Shiro. I don''t have a family name. I don''t intend to be friends with any of you so don''t bother."


    "What the hell?"


    Her attitude was chillier than her looks. Her tone of voice was condescending and this made all the students in the class angry.


    "What the hell!? Who do you think you are?"


    "At least try to be a bit friendly! This is not a normal school y''know!"


    "Damn I shouldn''t have fallen for her cute face! She is rotten to the core!"


    "I don''t care what you think. I''m not here to make friends."


    "Anyway let''s get on with the homeroom already. Shiro, you can sit in the front row."


    "Yes."


    As Shiro sat down the teacher started the day. But none of the students were paying their full attention to the class right now. There were even some whispers that planned something. Ryuuya, on the other hand, did not pay much attention to this development as it didn''t concern him anyway.


    So went on their day. As the clock ticked, the time for lunch had come. Katsuki told Ryuuya to eat together and they went towards the canteen. As they left the classroom, Ryuuya overheard the other students talking with Shiro. He scoffed at it and kept on walking. Katsuki was still blabbering on about some girl so he didn''t even care right now.


    They had an hour long period for lunch so they were at leisure. They ate their meals slowly and decided to tour around the school for the remainder of the lunch break. As they walked around, they heard some talking around a corner. When they looked, it was their classmates. And it looked like they have surrounded the new girl.


    They were talking about how she was just acting tough and stuff, typical mob talk. And it looked like Shiro was used to these people as she was just acting like she was listening. But knowing these people, Ryuuya had an urge to walk to them and calm them down. Katsuki was a bit more on the defensive side. He didn''t care much about what happened to the new girl. He was even sure that she would eventually restore her beauty. But Ryuuya could not stop when he saw a scene like this. He started walking towards them. He started speaking on the way.


    "Wow! What strength, am I right?"


    "Ryuu what the hell are you doing?!"


    "Huh?"


    "What the hell?"


    "I cannot believe you''d fall this low! Cornering the new girl? Really? What are you, Yakuza or something?"


    "To think you would come, of all people!"


    "Get out of here before you break something, Discarded One!"


    "You sure talk big for being a mob character."


    "Shut that guy up!"


    The students could not keep calm anymore. This insolence on top of the arrogance made their rage boil. But before they could attack with their abilities, Ryuuya rushed them. He threw punches and kicks, he picked up rocks and used them as weapons. He was nimble and quick. He didn''t have a shred of hesitation and mercy towards these trashes.


    Shiro watched in awe. She was shocked and curious. Shocked as this guy who she didn''t know fought for her without any sort of ability activation and even held the upper hand for a while and curious as to why he would fight for her.


    Ryuuya held the upper hand for a while but with only martial arts, one could achieve not much. Soon enough, the students activated their abilities and started pouring attacks on him. There was a lightning user among them and he used his ability to shock him, keeping him in place. After that, the students started punching and kicking him. One was even throwing stones at him. Of course Katsuki couldn''t stay still while all this happened. He joined the fray soon enough with a battle cry and made his fire dance around, burning the students. Soon enough they ran away, spouting nonsense like how they would regret it.


    "Ryuu!"


    "Ugh!"


    Finally, the lightning attack was still shocking him despite the distance. Ryuuta was still paralyzed by the pain. Shiro came over as well after the other students went away.


    "You do realize that this all happened because of you right?"


    "I didn''t ask for help."


    "But this didn''t mean that you needed help at all! You have to pay back for it!"


    "Haah, fine. I''ll at least do this much."


    She kneeled next to still constricting Ryuuya and reached with her hand. There was a cracking sound in her brain after her contact, signaling her success. The spell on him was broken successfully. But she was not the only person aware of this fact.


    In fact, her dispelling was too effective, even a seal that a specific person put was broken as well. And that person was currently sitting on a high chair, scratching his chin with a smile.


    "Well. That was sooner than expected."

 Chapter 002 - Identity

    With a touch, all the lightning in Ryuuya''s body got swept away. His contracting muscles relaxed and he sighed with relief. But with this touch, something else got swept away as well. He thought he heard a glass break and after an instant, his head was flooded with new information! His face contorted and immeasurable pain attacked his brain.


    "What have you done to my friend?!"


    Katsuki was panicking and berating Shiro but she had a grasp of the situation. She thought she was about to break a single ability on Ryuuya but instead, she broke two. She also heard the glass breaking and was surprised. While Katsuki was yelling at her, she never took her eyes off of Ryuuya. After sometime, he lost consciousness.


    "Shit! What have you done to my friend huh!?"


    "Wasn''t me. Probably the ability of one of the students."


    "Bullshit! You were to last to touch him!"


    "Just take him to the infirmary."


    After saying that she got up and fixed her skirt. She gave a final look to Ryuuya and walked away. Katsuki lifted Ryuuya and began walking to the infirmary while grumbling about how the new girl was useless. His best friend was this hurt because of her so it was understandable.


    They reached not long after as there were several infirmaries around the school and they happened to be close to one. The students who saw them were scoffing at them. Some were even saying good for them without intending to hide their voices.


    The doctor there was shocked at the state of burns on Ryuuya''s body. He was still unconscious and his face was still somewhat contorted. The doctor told Katsuki to leave after putting Ryuuya to bed. Even if he protested and expressed his desire to stay the doctor told him that he could come after school and he should not neglect his classes.


    Katsuki tried to force his way but the doctor did not yield and in the end, he left dejectedly. The doctor looked at the injuries of Ryuuya while muttering.


    "What the hell did you do this time?"


    "You speak to him even though you know he will not answer right?"


    "Huh?!"


    When the doctor turned around, he saw a figure that every person in the school respected and feared at the same time, the principal of TYRENT Academy. The doctor was visibly shocked to see him here, and almost fell when he talked.


    "P-p-principal, sir! What brings your esteemed self-"


    "Naah leave it. I don''t like it. I came here to take a look at this fella here."


    "I- I see."


    Principal walked beside the bed and put his hand on Ryuuya''s forehead. He closed his eyes and hummed a little bit and crossed his arms. After that he smiled to the doctor and spoke.


    "Tell him to come to my office after he wakes up okay?"


    "I understand, sir!"


    "Good."


    After this exchange, the Principal left while whistling the same tune he hummed moments ago. The doctor was sweating profusely so he took out a napkin. He looked at Ryuuya with wide eyes and spoke again.


    "I don''t know what you did this time but you look like you''re in big trouble."


    He sat on his chair with a sigh and prepared a coffee. After the Principal touched his forehead, Ryuuya''s expression was relaxed. Although his pain was lessened, it was not entirely gone. His head went from about to explode to being prickled with countless needles.


    He was currently acquiring new knowledge, new memories. Information flowed into his brain uncontrollably and he was having a hard time organizing them. He was seeing, ''remembering'' new stuff about his life. His memories were being filled with moments he never knew they were missing in the first place.


    His time with parents, his time in elementary school where the power course was taking place and he was in it as well! And among the various faces he saw until now, one was recurring. From when he was a baby to now. That face belonged to the Principal! His face was imprinted to most of his important memories but he could not realize it until now! Or rather, there was something else that prevented him from realizing it. And now that something is gone, he understood that he was not powerless, it was just sealed for his own safety.


    His power was a little special as far as he knew. He didn''t know much about it since he did not use it at all until now, but he knew that on its own it couldn''t do anything. Just as he was about to grasp a little more, he woke up. He was lying down on a bed and there was a wet towel on his forehead. His body was still aching and was still a little bit of pain but his mind was much clearer than before.


    He sat up. The towel fell on the floor and made a splashing sound, alerting the doctor. The doctor came and checked him up before speaking.

    Ryuuya got up and fixed his clothing. The doctor told him to rest a bit more but he didn''t listen. Saying he was fine, Ryuuya headed for the door.


    "Oh, the Principal wants to see you."


    "Hmm? Why?"


    "Maybe you are finally in trouble. You''ve been getting more and more reckless with your actions lately."


    "Whatever."


    He left the infirmary with his jacket over his shoulders. He was smiling. He had questions and the perfect opportunity came to him. He quietly walked towards the principal''s office on the third floor. TYRENT had a big campus for a high school in Tokyo and the buildings were apart from each other as well. There were various faculties around a central building. In this central building the students would get their homeroom and general studies. The offices were in this building as well. The principal''s office was in the centre of these offices on the third floor.


    The Principal''s office was just like his characteristic; not formal, at all. But he was like that and nobody would dare to say anything to him about it. He never wore a suit and he always had long hair with a matching goatee. His hair was ash grey and his irises were black. He had a long and slender stature and his carefree attitude made him easy to approach.


    But none of this mattered to Ryuuya. He just walked towards the door and knocked after he wore his school jacket. Even though he didn''t care, it was bad manners to meet the principal with that appearance.


    "Come in."


    The office was decorated with all sorts of things from around the world. There were various souvenirs ranging from simple cards to artifacts. There was even a jar of dirt in the corner! The Principal was currently sitting on his chair; his back was turned towards the door. After the door closed he slowly rotated. He was smiling ominously as he was petting a cat plushie.


    "I''ve been expecting you."


    "It would be weird if you didn''t as you called for me sir."


    But of course Ryuuya was not fazed by this. Principal''s smile froze stiff and he put the cat toy on the desk with care. He gave out a sigh and talked with a bitter smile.


    "C''mon. It was good acting! It is from a movie from before D-Day."


    "I don''t watch movies sir."


    "That''s a shame. You must be curious why I called you right?"


    "Not really. You called me to explain my powers, why do you appear in critical points of my life and why you didn''t age even a single day since I was a baby."


    "Close, I must admit. But not the entirety of the reason. Yes I''ll explain those things to you but I''ll also talk about the things most people don''t know about."


    "Why?"


    "Because you need to know for your own good. But I''ll let you ask some questions first."


    "Haah."


    Ryuuya let out a sigh and thought for a minute. He looked at the smiling face of the Principal. That face was as if he knew everything that Ryuuya thought of until this moment. It irritated him and he wanted to punch it hard. But he also knew that if he tried it, he would be lucky if he only lost an arm. The Principal was that kind of person.


    "Who are you?"


    "I knew you would start with that. Let''s see¡­ I''m the existence that most people know as ''The evil God''."


    "Evil¡­ God?"


    "Yeah. Scary isn''t it?"


    "I don''t think so. I''m just curious why you are called that."


    "Oh that''s simple. Because they are afraid of me."


    "Who?"


    "The Higher Society. Heaven and Hell. They fear me. So they called me evil and shunned me. Of course I don''t give a damn about their opinions."


    "I see¡­"


    "Any other questions?"


    "Why were you watching me? From when I was a baby to until now, you were always a part of my life."


    "Well that, requires a deeper explanation. Let''s start from the beginning. You know how the D-Day happened right?"


    "Yes. 7 gates appeared and 7 leaders of those realms chose their successors on Earth."


    "Yes but there were only 6 leaders there."


    "What do you mean?"


    "You are looking at the 7<sup>th</sup> leader right now son. The Purgatory one was my right hand man. I''m the leader of Purgatory. And you are my successor."


    "What?! What nonsense are you talking about?"


    "Like I said, you are my successor. I gave you my power. I watched you as you grew up and waited until you were ready for training. But your body was unable to keep up with the level of power I bestowed so I sealed it altogether."


    "Wh-w-w-what?"


    "Yes. I was the reason you grew up as powerless. But if I didn''t do that, you would''ve died a long time ago."


    Ryuuya was enraged. His eyes were wide open and he clenched his teeth in order to control himself. It was the first time he had trouble controlling his emotions. Evil God saw this and waited for a while. After taking a deep breath, Ryuuya looked at him. Evil God was pleased by this as he was smiling.


    "Good. You should at least do this much. Want something to drink?"


    "No thank you."


    "Your loss. I brought this tea all the way from Turkey. It is delicious you know."


    "Please go on."


    "Haa. Fine.


    You know the crack that appeared on D-Day? That was a brief door to the Pandemonium. It was supposed to upgrade Earth into a higher tier. Evolution if you prefer. But something went wrong and it attacked instead of just evolving it. In defense, the protector of Earth sent his will to block the attack. This resulted in an explosion and this will divided into 7. These will fragments fell on 7 random locations on Earth and created the ''Gateways''. One of those Gateways opens to my world, which is Purgatory.


    This was a rare occurrence even for us higher beings so we were curious and wanted to explore the Earth. But a problem arouse, we couldn''t roam on Earth freely. We had to restrict our power somehow and this had the possibility of having permanent repercussions. So the others decided to choose a successor and explore the planet that way. I chose my right hand man to do it and went into hiding and find my own successor. Of course I left a note behind to inform everyone."


    "I see. And I''m that successor?"


    "Precisely."


    "You said you had to restrict you powers and this might hurt you permanently so why and how are you here?"


    "Oh that? Well¡­ Let''s put it this way: Industrial secret."


    Evil God put his index finger on his lips and winked. This irritated Ryuuya more but did not show it on his face. After not getting the desired reaction, Evil God started talking once more.


    "In short, I''m going to start training you."


    "You are saying I''m ready?"


    "No some external interference destroyed the seal. That is why you''ll start to die slowly if you don''t train. And I guarantee it will be agonizing."


    "What if I refuse?"


    "First of all you have no reason to refuse. Second, you will start dying so you better accept. If you refuse you will be dead in a week. That is your situation right now."


    Ryuuya felt a chill after he heard the seriousness of the Principal''s voice. His eyes were cold and he was not smiling anymore. He was right; Ryuuya had no reason to refuse. And if he started training, he could learn a lot of things regarding himself and the Principal. He could ask questions later and he could further his martial arts. So he nodded.


    "Oh. You''ll attend the tournament as well."

 Chapter 003 - Inevitable Fate

    "Oh. You''ll attend the tournament as well."

    "You heard me."


    The Principal spoke as he grinned. He knew what Ryuuya was thinking about and what he would ask next.


    "Surely you are joking sir."


    "Nope."


    "The people who participate have been practicing and perfecting their ability since kindergarten. Do you really think that I, who has no practice and knowledge what-so-ever, can be a match to them in a short amount of time?!"


    As Ryuuya was talking, the wind picked up inside the office. The papers which were on the table were flung up and the curtains danced as well. The windows were closed so what was the explanation? It was Ryuuya. The wind was circling around him like a tornado. As he was breathing deeply and in his eyes was a questioning look. As he kept questioning he felt a hand on his shoulder and all the wind stopped moving.


    "I suggest you calm down."


    "It''s you!"


    "And here she is. The reason why we''re all here! Oh thanks for lifting the seal by the way, it wasn''t early for it at all."


    "What?"


    "I''m as confused as you are. You called me, sir principal?"


    "Yes. I called you both for an explanation."


    ""Explanation?""


    "Yeah, it''s about your powers, lives and fates. From now on, you two will be partners. You will never separate from each other while in the campus and will do most of the things that you do daily together"


    "What?! Sir are you¡­ serious about this!? You can''t force this on us!"


    "I agree. Why should I be within 100 meters of this¡­ commoner?"


    "What? You realize that I saved your ass today right?"


    "Ah! What way of talking is that? You are talking to a noble lady!"


    Evil God smiled as the two kept bickering. His arms were crossed in front of his chest and he was sitting on his table.

    "You seem like you get along to me so I see no problem at all."

    He pointed at the two chairs that weren''t there a moment ago and indicated them to sit. He then proceeded to put two cups in front of them, on the coffee table and filled them with tea. It had a fragrant smell.


    "It is a special tea from Turkey, similar to the previous one. It is apparently called linden tea. They say that it is good for your health. I tried it when I had cold and it worked wonders."


    "Sir, explanation?"


    "Oh we don''t have to rush. You children must be hungry, want something to eat?"


    "No thank you."


    "I just want to go and rest."


    "Haah. You guys are boooring. Very well. You know how the people with powers have been chosen by various forces of higher beings right? On the D-Day? Well one type is always similar to each other, like your friend Akagi. His fire powers come from his family, who have been chosen by the branch leader of the Fire Clan. They, like their name suggests, control fire and heat. Some even control lava but those are usually hybrids among families and are very rare. Even I just only heard about it.


    Anyway, you two though, are a special case. You, Shiro, do not have the same power as your family members and I''m sure you noticed it somehow. Even your behavior is different in some aspects."


    "Indeed, it is as you say."


    "Weren''t you an orphan?"


    "Hmph!"


    "Oi¡­"

    "Yeah I thought so too until today."


    "Yeap. That is your fault Shiro."


    "Mine?!"


    "Yes. Even though I planned for you to lift the seal, you still did it too early! Now I have to push my plans a little. Why I want you guys to stick together is because your powers balance each other out. You, Shiro can dispel any kind of ability that you touch and Ryuuya''s ability is one that can be only controlled by you alone. I originally planned to start training after the tournament and make you into friends until then."


    "What is it about our powers? You were about to talk about that also."


    "Your powers are unique. Meaning there isn''t an ability that is like yours. That is because your power comes from Pandemonium itself. Shiro got the balancing one while you got the chaos one. You are a part of a bigger scheme than you can ever think of.


    The thing is, Pandemonium is corrupted. Something messed with it before it opened to Earth. The Protector of Earth, the True Dragon tried to fight against it but even it saw it coming a tad bit late. The light that came from Earth? That was the will like I said. After that attack, the one that divided to 7 was the Will of the Dragon itself. It managed to defend against it at the cost of its own life and somewhat succeeded.     The faces of Shiro and Ryuuya conveyed their confusion clearly. It looked like they didn''t understand a thing about what the Principal said. But without batting an eye, Evil God kept on talking.


    "There''s also a traitor amongst the higher beings but I don''t have a clue who. Maybe it is me? No but I act against it. But what if they want me to believe it so? Maaan this is-"


    "Sir Principal! What are you saying? What do you mean by bringing balance to Pandemonium?"


    "You heard me; you two will save the world! Or that''s what normal movies would say. You will go on a journey to weed out the traitors and defeat them, therefore restoring the order. I know it sounds like a cheesy action novel''s plot but that''s how it is."


    Evil God was shrugging his shoulders. He sipped his tea while the two children who had an enormous amount of information launched at them made sense of their situation. It was natural. Two complete strangers were just told that they would become best friends and fight for the survival of the world. Anyone would hate that. It wasn''t their responsibility so why would they care? He would be surprised if they accepted it with just that.


    They were still thinking and looking at each other, trying to read the other''s thoughts. Evil God would give them ample time to think about it.


    "You can always come back and tell your thoughts on this at a later date. Just keep in mind though; you will die in a week if you don''t make a decision Amano."


    "I''m going to come back tomorrow. Then I will give my answer to you."


    "Very well. What about you Shiro? Though you two have to come to a consensus on this as only one of you will not do as I said."


    "I shall think about it, sir Principal."


    "Good! Then I will await you two again tomorrow."


    "Before that, can you tell me, sir¡­? Why me? Why did you choose me?"

    Ryuuya and Shiro left after bowing. After they closed the door behind them, Ryuuya let out a heavy sigh and scratched his head. He fell into thought and started walking towards his dorm room. Shiro just looked at him and touched his shoulder.


    "Hmm? What is it?"


    "Where do you think you''re going?"


    "Umm¡­ To my dorm room?"


    "Don''t you think we should at least talk about what just transpired? The Principal said-"


    "I know what he said. He also said that I will die in a week so what choice do I have?!"


    "Why are you yelling at me?"


    "Sorry¡­"


    "Even though you have no choice in the matter, I still have the right to refuse, remember that."


    "What? You are threatening me? Are you serious?!"


    "Not a threat, more like a reminder."


    "What''s the goddamn difference?!"


    Ryuuya was thoroughly enraged now. He breathed heavily with clenched teeth and was about to jump at Shiro. Shiro saw this and smiled.


    "Do you think your power would work on me? Don''t forget that you don''t know how to use it."


    "I don''t need a power to beat you up if I need to!"


    "Well, let''s talk about it tomorrow or something. Your friend is rushing here."


    "Huh?"


    "Ryuuuuuuu!"


    Katsuki rushed at Ryuuya and tackled him to the ground in his excitement. Even though Ryuuya told him that he was still somewhat injured he didn''t listen and kept on clinging. Shiro, without batting an eye, started walking away. Seeing this, Ryuuya wanted to call out to her but decided not to. He didn''t think that she was a person that would say one thing and do the other.


    As the two were on the ground still the Principal opened his door.


    "Oi! Don''t yell in front of my office! Get out!"


    "Oh shit! Run Ryuu!"


    "It was your fault!"


    "Oh Amano. Tell her that she doesn''t have much of a choice either."


    After winking, Evil God closed the door, leaving Ryuuya thinking. He came to himself when Katsuki came back and shook him. It was a busy and fast day and Ryuuya just wanted to sleep now. He made his way towards his room. Katsuki wanted to come in as well but he thanked and refused. He just took his backpack from Katsuki and closed his door.


    He threw the bag somewhere and fell on his bed. He had so much to think about the next day and so many things to do as well. But now, his eyelids closed slowly, against his will.


    He woke up the next day and nothing much had happened. The students that caused trouble for him and Shiro the previous day were absent today. Probably the work of Principal. He talked with Shiro about what they were going to do. He did not forget to convey the Principal''s message to her.


    "I know that."


    "So? What will you do?"


    "What do you think?"


    "Umm... What the hell are you guys talking about?!"


    Katsuki was dumfounded by their friendship, if you can call it that. After the classes ended, all three of them headed for the Principal''s office. Katsuki kept asking questions to them but all they told him was he would understand soon. Needless to say, Katsuki was not happy with their mysterious attitude.


    The Principal was waiting for them like he said, normally this time.


    "So, your answer?"


    "What choice do I have huh?"


    "We accept, sir Principal."


    "Good. So first of all. Akagi, you want in as well?"


    "Yes sir! These two were mysterious all day long! I want to know what''s going on!"


    "Very well. I gave you a chance, so don''t try to leave later."


    "Huh?"


    "All right you three! Prepare for hellish training!"


    "Wha- Whaaat!"


    Among the chirping of birds, Katsuki''s confused yell was heard.

 Chapter 004 - Training Starts

    After agreeing to the Principal''s terms, he led them towards a special training arena. There were quite a lot of these arenas around the campus but this one was only accessible by the Principal himself. It was below the main building after all. On the way he told the story so far to Katsuki and he had stars for eyes now whenever he looked at Ryuuya. He was still marveling at the fact that his best friend was not powerless after all!


    Even the Principal had enough of it. Of course he did not mention the fact that he was Evil God and he chose Ryuuya as his successor to Katsuki. That was a secret that even his successor knowing was putting him in enough danger.


    The arena was huge, almost the size of a football field. The walls were white and there was nothing inside other than them right now. When they reached the middle of the field Principal stopped and looked at them. Shiro and Ryuuya was looking at him and Katsuki was looking around curiously. Principal clapped once to gather his attention and started speaking.


    "All right. I mentioned hellish training before but that won''t be possible without understanding your powers. So I''ll explain them to my best ability as I don''t know everything. First of all, what do you know about Pandemonium?"


    "I''m bad with history and am not interested in mythology."


    "I have no idea!"


    "Then don''t speak dumbass. What about you Shiro?"


    "I seem to remember that it was capital of Hell."


    "Hmm. Not true unfortunately. That place is called something else. The Pandemonium that I''m talking about is a force akin to God in your terms. Its purpose is to bring balance to everything. Chaos and order, life and death, everything has a place there. If you want to understand your powers you have to understand the concept of Pandemonium. Let''s say that¡­"


    Evil God kept on talking and the vigorous looks on the trios faces faded not long after the speech became a monologue that spanned an hour. Ryuuya was fighting the urge to just sleep and Katsuki just forfeited that fight and was sleeping on the ground. Even the serious Shiro was yawning softly as if to hide the fact that she was bored and was sleepy. Her lady like behavior even in a situation such as this piqued the interest of Ryuuya. But he didn''t give it much thought considering her arrogant behavior before. She was like a noble through and through. As he turned his head around and looked at Evil God, he was looking at them with a somewhat angry look.


    "And here I''ve committed to put this knowledge into one! You guys are not listening at all!"


    "Sorry sir Principal but it was truly too long."


    "For once I agree with her. There were too much useless things mixed up. Why would I care about the time that an idiot tried to absorb it? If we are talking about a God-like being-"


    "A place actually. Like a realm."


    "Whatever, it is obvious that you will not succeed in taking that power for yourself."


    "Haah, you are right. That''s why I don''t teach. Okay, here''s the short version; it brings balance to everything. It periodically opens to worlds that are ready to evolve and gives power to those worlds. Sometimes, it gets corrupted but there are always 2 children that are born at the time of that. They get stronger and fight the corruption. Those two always bear the mark of Pandemonium on them in the form of their power. This time it is you two.


    Shiro has the balancing power. She nullifies every kind of ability and magic that is targeting her, called ''Dispell''. And yours is the control over arcane, which is pure magic power. You have absolute control over it, well you''re supposed to. But because of the corruption, it got mutated that even I don''t know to what heights."


    "What about me sir!?"


    "Everyone knows yours Akagi, it is fire manipulation. I''m surprised you even asked me that, it is your power after all."


    "I expected something epic like them."


    "Don''t get your hopes up I suggest. Anyway. We don''t have much time to train this time as you guys have been born too late. My theory is that the True Dragon residing here created some complications in the normal process. And while it was defending itself, the balance was tipped and one of the wills got corrupted as well. You guys were born because of that tipped balance. That''s what I think."


    "This is a lot to take in."


    "Yes. And? Why should we stick together, sir Principal?"

    "Alright that''s enough. We should start now. Akagi, I believe a common problem with your power is the control of temperature and the duration of your control right?"


    "That is so sir. I have problem making hot flames and keeping them for a longer duration."

    After he said that, Evil God took out a lump of metal and threw him in front of Katsuki. It was the size of a baseball and had a texture of black and white lines like a zebra. It looked so light and it wasn''t that big as well but when it hit the ground, it created a crater after a loud thud.


    "I want you to melt that. Do whatever takes to achieve but you will only use your flames."


    "What the hell is this?!"


    "It is called a ''Purified Steel'' I had a chance to trade for it when a representative came from the Purged. It is quite hard to forge with. It''s denseness it top notch as you can see. It will be hard for you so you better start soon."


    "Y-yes."


    "Shiro."


    Evil God waved his hand towards Shiro and a black gate opened not too far from where they were. Around it were some devices on the ground surrounding it.


    "I want you to close that gate. It will expand in time so be careful. What you see surrounding it is called a ''Detector Mine''. It explodes if it detects something other than what is specified at the moment of deployment."


    "I¡­ see. But isn''t it a bit excessive, sir?"


    "Hmm¡­ I don''t think so. I did so they will explode if they feel the presence of a power. That includes yours as well, as you cancel the movements of mana."


    "What? Sir you want to kill me?"


    "I would do it if I wanted you dead. So? What are you waiting for? I don''t want this place destroyed because of your incompetence."


    After letting out a sigh, Shiro had no choice but to go and do as the Principal said. She started to focus on cancelling the gate. The gate was truly expanding slowly. The mines were pretty spread out so with its pace, the closest mine would explode if she did nothing for a whole 24 hours. Her white eyes were filled with determination as she tied her snow white hair.


    On the other side was Katsuki. He was currently holding his hands towards the lump of ''Purified Steel'' and was launching fire towards it. The flames he used were bright red and their heat could be felt from where Ryuuya and evil God were standing. But after a minute or so, his flames slowed to a crawl and finally stopped. The moment they stopped, Katsuki held his hands and blew on them. It looked like he burned them a little. Unfortunately, there was not a single dent of the steel ball.


    "Good. Now that everyone started. Amano, come over here will you?"


    "O¡­kay?"


    Evil God led Ryuuya towards one of the walls, away from the others. He stopped after walking for 5 minutes straight and looked at Ryuuya without saying anything. Ryuuya was waiting for him to say something but they stood like that for another minute or so and Ryuuya''s patience was nearing its end. Right as he was about to speak up, Evil God came up to him. He thought that he was about to say something but he was shocked when he smacked the back of his head really hard.


    "OW! With utmost respect sir but what the hell!"


    Without saying anything Evil God hit again.


    "Sssss. Sir, it would be nice if you explained why!"


    And again.


    "I don''t know what I did but please stop this at once."


    But he wouldn''t stop. Evil God kept on hitting Ryuuya without saying anything. At long last, Katsuki was unable to keep his focus on his work and looked at them. When he saw that Ryuuya was getting beat up, he walked towards them with a concerned look.


    "Umm¡­. Sir? I don''t know what he did but-"


    "Did I tell you to stop?"


    The look that Evil God gave at Katsuki was chilling to say the least. He was stopped dead in his tracks and his knees were getting weak because of fear. But still he couldn''t sit still when his best friend was getting punished for no reason.


    "S-s-sir, don''t you- don''t you think it is w-wrong to punish him without reason?"


    "Go back and do what I told you to. This is my last warning."


    Then he turned to Ryuuya and kept on hitting his head. Katsuki was nearing his limit as well. He couldn''t go back when he saw this scene. Even Shiro was looking towards them with concerned eyes. Even though she did not like Ryuuya as they didn''t know each other that well, she didn''t think that he was a bad person.


    Just as they think this was going too far, a red splatter made its way to the ground. That last slap was heavier that the rest and after consecutive hits, it was reasonable for this to happen. Everybody was shocked. Ryuuya wiped the blood from its lips and looked at Evil God with rage. Shiro''s eyes went wide and Katsuki was unable to stop anymore as he charged at Evil God while screaming. Evil God saw this and without batting an eye, lifted his hand and lifted Katsuki along. After he looked at Ryuuya for a moment, he forcefully brought his hand down. A crack was heard and Katsuki lay on the ground without moving.


    Ryuuya''s eyes were wide with shock as he couldn''t believe what he saw. The Principal beating him for no reason? He can tolerate it to an extent but seeing his friend end up like that because he tried to help him? Now that was the last drop of water. The mana around him started to go berserk as his vision blurred. Wind was picking up speed and cracks appeared around him. His vision started turning grey. All the sound disappeared for him and there was only grey in his vision. After a short while, he lost his vision completely.


    When his vision returned, he was lying on the floor, completely exhausted. He didn''t even have an ounce of strength in him. He was still in the arena and Katsuki''s face was unnaturally close to him. He had a different kind of determination in his face from usual. While he was thinking about it¡­


    "Wake up you idiot! How long do you plan sleeping for!?"

 Chapter 005 - Malevolence

    "Wake up you idiot! How long do you plan sleeping for!?"


    He started slapping him. And if it weren''t for Evil God, he would keep going. He had an apologetic smile while he was looking at Ryuuya. After throwing Katsuki off of him, he helped Ryuuya get up.


    "Sorry about all that."


    "Didn''t¡­ Didn''t you just ¡­ to Katsuki¡­"


    "Ah that? It was an illusion."


    Evil God had a grinning with his tongue out while waving his finger. Without controlling himself, and to be frank he was kind of unable, Ryuuya kicked Evil God''s shin. Even though he was more than capable of dodging it, Evil God chose not to and started jumping around while holding his leg.


    "Alright, I deserve it. But I wanted to see your max so bad! I think it was worth it."


    "Worth it? I saw you almost kill my best friend! How is that worth it?! You should have said something at the beginning!"


    As Ryuuya was getting angry again the wind started to pick up again and Shiro went ahead touched his shoulder to stop his power raging again. Because this test did indeed have shown Ryuuya''s max power. In the place where he raged only remained a crater. They somehow calmed Ryuuya down and started explaining his situation. According to what the Principal said, floor around him started to turn to break into tiny fragments and evaporate. Truly befitting of the name ''Total Destruction''.


    "In conclusion, the trigger for this power is your emotional state. I''m glad we learned that."


    He then turned around and recreated the black gate and turned around with a devilish smile.


    "But I still didn''t tell you to stop."


    Katsuki despaired and started rolling on the ground. Shiro gave a minute look at Ryuuya and walked towards the gate and started training. Without anything better to do, Katsuki also started training. Only Ryuuya was standing where he was and looking down. He was deep in thought and his head was aching. His injuries from before weren''t completely healed either so he was in a difficult position. He was thinking if he could control that berserk power with all his current condition. But as if to blow all his worries away, Evil God grinned at him and tapped his shoulder.


    "Don''t worry. We will not do that again. Well, soon at the very least. What I want from you is controlling your emotions. I will do everything to irritate, shame and anger you. And if you lose control again, Shiro will stop you."


    "At least you are warning first. Whatever, I don''t have much of a choice. Plus, I want to see my own limits as well."


    "That is good then."


    With that, their training officially commenced. Katsuki was sweating and Shiro too, was working hard to stop the black gate. It was too strong for her and it really pushed her limits. She just hoped that it wouldn''t reach the mines.


    And as for Ryuuya and Evil God, well let''s say that Evil God is actually really proficient at being an older brother. Ryuuya was really having a hard time as he had to endure the various taunts of Evil God. Hitting, pranking¡­ Anything that can come to mind was done to him. As he was an only child and was lonely as he grew up, Ryuuya never experienced things like these so even if his mental fortitude was of a 15 year olds, he couldn''t resist this ''elder brother''. There was a time when he was about to lose control again.


    As the clock ticked closer to midnight, the Principal stopped the trio and released them from their first day of misery.


    "I want you guys be at my office the same time tomorrow got it?"


    "Yes."


    "Okay."


    "Nuuuuuuuu!"


    "You signed up for this yourself Katsu."


    "I know Ryuu but still!"


    "I want no excuse! Well then, let''s get out of here! I want to have some fresh air."


    With that, he made his way towards the exit followed by the trio. The trio was staying together throughout the day. This was forced on them by the principal so that they could get to know together and make their teamwork better. They would wake up early and go jogging and after classes they would go to the special arena with the Principal and train their bodies and powers. At the beginning of their fourth day of training, Ryuuya woke up with pain in his chest and was sweating profusely.


    He forced himself up from his bed and while supporting himself with the wall, went to his cell phone. His vision was a little blurry because of sweat getting in his eyes so he had difficulty seeing what he was typing in his password. He finally got it right somehow and he hurriedly called Katsuki.

    He closed the call and he waddled towards the bathroom. He wanted to wash his face to clear his vision but before he could even take one step, he tripped on his other leg and fell down. He concluded that he could not reach the bathroom like this so he decided to crawl back to bed. As he started climbing back up, his door opened and Katsuki entered with the Principal and Shiro. Katsuki was shaking in anxiety and Shiro was shocked to see him in this condition. Only the Principal was calm. He went and touched his forehead.


    "Akagi, close the door."


    "Is he okay sir?"


    "Do as I said."


    "Y-yes. Yes."


    Ryuuya was lying down on his back and Katsuki and the Principal were near his head. Shiro was directly in front of him and was directly looking at him.


    "Hmm. I suspected as such."


    "What is it sir Principal?"


    "Nothing too serious. Just his power having a backlash that''s all."


    "I think that is plenty serious though?"


    "Well it''s not something that I can''t handle."


    The Principal put his hand on Ryuuya''s forehead and took a deep breath. After that he closed his eyes and put his right hand on Ryuuya''s chest and focused his power. He circulated it through Ryuuya and calmed the berserk energy. This took about 5 minutes and Katsuki was about to go nuts. He wanted to ask about his friend but was afraid of disturbing the Principal and thus harming Ryuuya. Shiro was similar. She never took her eyes off of the Principal''s hands and wanted to know what kind of power he had. But she was up against a more experienced individual as she couldn''t discover anything, there weren''t even any fluctuations!


    "There, done. It''s good that you called so early or else you would''ve died before you could make it to the bathroom."


    After speaking he took out a talisman from his breast pocket and put it around Ryuuya''s neck.


    "This is the best that I can do for now."


    "S¡­ sir?"


    "Is he okay sir?! Please tell me that he''s okay? Oh what will I do without him?!"


    "He''s okay."


    "He was so young as well! He was so young! How?! How could you take him from me!? Curse you! Curse-"


    A smack to the back of the head was enough to bring him back to earth from whichever fantasyland he was. He looked around him and saw the face palming Shiro and an irritated Principal. Even veins popped on his forehead.


    "I said he is okay so shut up! And you be careful from now."


    He said to Ryuuya.


    "I couldn''t completely stop it, so it is just suppressed. That talisman''s purpose is to add another layer of suppression. It is not all powerful so be careful. It should last you around 5 to 6 months so you are covered through the tournament."


    "I¡­ see¡­ Thank you."


    "Well at least you let me know. It would be bad y''know. Anyway you rest for the day, I''ll take care of the paperwork for it."


    "What about the training?"


    " ''S fine."


    "But what if-"


    "Nothing will happen so just rest already. Sheesh. You are worse than my wife!"


    Principal just exited after that. Only Katsuki and Shiro remained in the room. Shiro cleared her throat and spoke.


    "Well then, now that you are good, I will take my leave. I still have laps to run. You too Akagi."


    "A-ah yes. I''ll be there shortly."


    "Thank you for coming."


    "Hmph."


    After she closed the door behind him Ryuuya and Katsuki looked at each other and lightly laughed.


    "It''s good that you are okay Ryuu."


    "Well, you were the only person I could call so¡­"


    "Well, you heard the man. Relax for today. But when you comeback you better be prepared as you''ll eat my dust!"


    "Haha, bring it on!"


    They talked for another 5 minutes or so and Katsuki finally left for his morning exercise. Ryuuya was left on his own and did not know what to do. He could watch some videos from internet. In the meantime he decided to read some novels with his phone. He decided to read one that he discovered recently. It was about a god that got summoned to another world.


    "Why are all gods weird in the head? But¡­ now that I think about it this God of Magic is waaay better than the one I have. Well, at least the author puts in hard work."


    He surfed the internet all day long and when he was bored with it he studied and kept pace with his class. All in all, he had a pleasant holiday. He felt much better than before, he could walk with ease and he could even do some light physical exercise too. So he decided to at least go and watch his friends practicing. He made his way towards the principal''s office around the last lesson.


    But instead of climbing the stairs, he went down and headed to the entrance of the arena. Thanks to the Principal, they could now enter this place with ease with their fingerprints and irises. He entered and started waiting for the team. While he was waiting he did more light physical exercise like jogging and throwing punches and simple stretching.


    But no one came no matter how long he waited. Even though they went eating, they should''ve arrived half an hour ago, thought Ryuuya and exited. He made his way towards the Principal''s office this time and knocked on the door. But no response came. Surprised, Ryuuya tried a couple more times. After no response came from within for 5 minutes, he gave up and decided to walk around and see if he could meet with any of them.


    He exited the main building and made his way towards the faculty where their class was. On the way he could see other students making their way towards their dorms, their school day was over and they were laughing and playing with each other. Some were talking about someone getting beat up but that was a common occurrence in this school.


    "No man you don''t understand. It was not just your Ordinary Joe that got beat up."

    Ryuuya rushed to the closest infirmary. The people that saw him made way for him and when they saw his face clearly, there were some people that made some interesting faces and some that started discussing.


    Ryuuya entered the infirmary with a kick almost as the door slammed to the wall. There on the first bed was Shiro lying with her eyes closed. She was currently unconscious and Katsuki was beside her, looking enraged. When he saw Ryuuya enter, he turned to him and apologized with a cracked voice.


    "I''m sorry man. I''m so sorry! I was- I was just buying something to drink!"

 Chapter 006 - Unexpected Resistance

Ryuuya, after seeing Shiro in this condition, had a hard time controlling his emotions. He was enraged, his eyes opened wide and his nostrils were opened as well. His teeth were clenched and cracking sounds were coming from his knuckles.


    "Katsu. I want you to tell me, clearly, who did this."

    At that time the doctor appeared behind Ryuuya and lightly smacked him in the back of his head with a book. Ryuuya turned with a swish and threw a punch but his speed was nothing to the Doctor as her experience was much broader and she was much quicker. She nimbly blocked the punch with her book and smacked Ryuuya with it again. A red mark appeared on his forehead and when he looked again, he realized that he attacked a school staff. A doctor, nonetheless!


    "I''m sorry, sir."


    "Apology accepted. Your friend is fine, she''s just exhausted. I healed her injuries so there''s nothing to be afraid of. So don''t yell! There are other students resting here!"


    ""Yes ma''am.""


    After their confirmation, doctor gave a sweet smile and returned to her desk to keep reading her book. Ryuuya went beside Shiro and saw that it was indeed as the doctor said. There were no injuries and her breathing was steady as well. She was like the princess in that story. Her white hair blended with the bed sheets and her chest slowly moved up and down with her every breath.


    "She wanted something to drink so I went to get it. I''m sorry! I should''ve been there for her!"


    "It''s okay man. She has a lot of enemies anyway. It was natural. But you should really tell me who it was."


    "I can''t Ryuu. While I carried her here she made me promise that I wouldn''t tell you who they were!"


    "Is it from our class?"


    "I told you I can''t."


    Ryuuya could see that Katsuki broke eye contact for a split second.


    "I see. Is it the same group from the other day?"


    "Ryuu¡­ I-I¡­ Dude knock it off!"


    It looked like it was. Katsuki was a terrible liar after all. His face could be read by Ryuuya better as they were friends for a long time. He smiled and chuckled.


    "Fine fine. I won''t pursue this okay?"


    "Promise me."


    "I promise."


    Only after this could Katsuki smile. He got up and stretched and said that he was going to toilet. He left the room and left Ryuuya and Shiro alone. Ryuuya''s expression was complex as he was in deep thought. He would continue school tomorrow and he was sure that those guys would poke fun at him. He was currently planning how he should deal with all that. He looked at Shiro''s sleeping face and sighed.


    Katsuki arrived not long after and told Ryuuya that he saw the Principal.


    "He said that we should return to our rooms. I mean we still have training tomorrow."


    "You''re right. Let''s go. Sir, thank you."


    "It''s fine. It''s my job to take care of you children."


    They bowed and thanked the doctor and left the infirmary. They were late for meal time so they had their dinner together. There was an awkward silence around them. Katsuki wanted to talk but Ryuuya was still in deep thought. He just gave vague replies. This made Katsuki more nervous but while having dinner it was as if Ryuuya was changed in a split second. He became his usual self to ease Katsuki''s worries. But once he returned his room, his eyes had a cold glint in them.


    "The die is cast indeed."


    He closed his lights and went to bed. His day started as usual the next day, he got up early and went jogging, returned home and took a shower and left for school. Weirdly, he didn''t see Katsuki that morning. Normally he would rush around looking at girls asses and joke around. You would know he was approaching from his loud laugh. But this morning he didn''t catch these signs at all. Without minding much, he kept on going.


    But instead of directly going to class, he made his way towards the park. This park was on the way to one of the boys'' dorms. He sat on a bench and put his backpack beside him. He put on his headphones and started looking around and waiting.


    After about 20 minutes, he calmly put his headphones in his backpack and got up. He went to the back of a nearby tree and took position. This was all because his first target was approaching. His name was Kouda and he was the first person to try and hit Shiro the other day. This guy was truly unlucky the moment he entered this academy. The only people he could get along with were staying too far from him and he was almost always the target of bullying. That''s why he was getting his revenge from his underclassmen. He was not liked even by his teachers but there were some weird headed individuals that are alike and were getting along with him.


    As he was alone, he was the first target. Ryuuya picked up several pebbles from the ground and aimed. After he got closer to the bench, he made his move. Kouda''s power was to control water so he didn''t have much to worry about in this park.     He threw the pebble and it flew straight at his head from behind. Kouda instantly turned around while rubbing his head and looked around. His actions were futile though as he saw nothing and no one. He looked down and saw the pebble that hit him. He picked it up and when he determined there was nothing special about it, threw it to the ground and kept walking.


    This was when a second pebble hit him. This time he more furiously turned around gnashed his teeth while looking around. But the same scenery was in front of him. With a hmph, he turned back again. But this time his attention was focused behind him and when he heard an object flying towards him he dodged and looked back. He saw a silhouette behind a tree and ran towards it.


    Ryuuya was waiting for this. He rotated around the tree as Kouda was approaching and with a sleight of hand, picked the bottle of water that was hanging on Kouda''s bag. He threw the rest of the pebbles to Kouda''s head and threw the bottle the other side. Then he started punching in quick succession.


    "Who?!"


    Kouda was shocked and panicked when he got attacked. He wanted to turn around when the pebbles hit him but the punches after that came like a gale and he could not even find an opening to even open his eyes. Soon, his face swelled up and his nose was broken as well. After getting beat up for 5 minutes, he was finally let go of. 3 teeth accompanied him to the ground as he fell. Ryuuya''s hands were bloodied so he wiped them on Kouda''s jacket and left him moaning and rolling on the ground.


    He made his way towards the classroom. People were already in there and they were having their usual mornings. Katsuki was there as well, albeit a little down. His eyes were more serious than usual. When Ryuuya entered some people looked at him with complicated gazes. There were indifferent gazes and there were mocking gazes. There were some people that were looking provocatively as well but these were the people that beat up Shiro yesterday. He didn''t give them any attention and went to his seat. He exchanged pleasantries with Katsuki and sat down. They were having their mornings as usual as well, Katsuki cheered up when he saw him.


    After about 5 minutes though, a student entered the classroom while panting and sweating. It was obvious he was running quite a bit. He went towards the group of people that were responsible for Shiro and told them something.


    "What? To Yuki?"


    "Shhhh!"


    Yuki was another one of those who were responsible. When he heard Ryuuya he was confused but was indifferent but when he looked at Katsuki''s face, he could tell that he was hiding his smile. At that time another student entered the class but this time they yelled instead of telling in secret.


    "Someone beat up Kouda! Quite badly at that! He can''t even open his eyes!"


    "Kouda too!?"


    "What is going on?"


    Everybody was shocked at this but the most shocked ones were their friend group. They involuntarily looked at Katsuki and Ryuuya but they were indifferent about this and they were having their usual morning talks. At this time their teacher entered and started their lesson.


    "Ryuu. I''ll admit I was behind that girl but were you the one on Kouda?"


    "Yes."


    "You promised me!"


    "Well you weren''t calm either!"


    "Akagi! Amano! Get your act together or you''ll find yourselves out."


    "We''ll talk about this!"


    After their class was over, they went to the canteen and started talking over coffee.


    "You promised me Ryuu!"


    "What about you? You weren''t the type to get revenge!"


    "But you didn''t see what they did to her Ryuu! If you did then you wouldn''t be calm right now!"


    "They''ve done enough already! Just like Caesar said: The die is cast. Whatever happens from now, there''s no turning back for me!"


    "Me as well! So, what do you think we should do?"


    "I was going to ambush them one by one but since we are going to work together let me think. Hmm¡­ What about this¡­"


    As such, they planned until the next class started. They calmly entered and took their seat. Their attitude didn''t escape from the eyes of the culprits, they even locked their gazes on the group for a second. This made them nervous as they knew the reason why Yuki and Kouda got beaten and the people that did it. That is why starting from the next period, they started to move in a one big group.


    Ryuuya and Katsuki observed them for now and didn''t act. Their plan was to corner them when the school ended because they would go their separate ways then. So they waited. And once the school was over, the group involuntarily parted. They were all from the same family except for one. While that one girl was from the Lightning Branch, the others were from Water Branch. Even though they''re from the same clan with Katsuki, there was no hesitation in his eyes. Indeed they''re from the same clan but there were seven branches and each one of them has lots of members.


    The girls were numbered at 3 with that lightning girl and boys numbered at 2. They would target the girls first. Katsuki would hold down the lightning girl and one of the other ones if he could and Ryuuya would knock down the other. Ryuuya started the ambush as he did with Kouda but this time he threw with more power.


    Once the pebble hit the back of their heads, one of the girls cried out and fell down, she couldn''t move due to pain. Fastest one to react was the lightning girl, she threw a lightning towards were Ryuuya was. But unfortunately for her he had already changed his position and threw more stones. This time however, he failed to hit as they were already expecting another attack. The one on the ground was able to clench her teeth and stand up only to get knocked down again by a charging Katsuki. He charged straight at the lightning girl. She was surprised by this but was able to dodge his attack.


    While all this happened Ryuuya was able to sneak up behind the other water girl and started beating her up like he did with Kouda. Their fighting attracted observers of course so a crowd was gathering around them. They were exclaiming at the moves done by Ryuuya as he had an overwhelming advantage. Their sounds also attracted the attention of the boys of the group. They also entered the crowd and when they saw the scene they were enraged and entered the fray.


    Ryuuya was done with the water girl quite fast so he was helping Katsuki about with the lightning girl when the others saw them. Girl''s lightning was being blocked by Katsuki but everyone could see that he was getting more and more tired as lightning and fire was close in nature and the girl''s control over her power was better than him.


    Ryuuya threw a couple more pebbles only to be reduced to ash by her lightning.


    "You are aiming for something out of your reach, Discarded One!"


    "We''ll see that! Katsu! Do it!"


    When he said it, Ryuuya went behind a tree to hide. When Katsuki saw that he was in a safe position he grinned and hugged himself while speaking.


    "You all did something that you shouldn''t have! Now prepare for your punishment! HA!"


    After his shout, he spread his arms and countless fire snakes spread out. He was using these fire snakes to constrict the group and also to attack them like a whip! Even though the group used their water bottles to defend against this attack but the flames were too hot, even lightning girl was having a hard time. But that was the same for Katsuki as well. Seeing the sweat beads on Katsuki''s forehead anyone could understand that it was taxing for him too. That''s why Ryuuya took of his belt and wrapped it around his fist. Right as Katsuki stopped the technique, he rushed and started punching them and gathering them to one place. As they were weakened by the fire snakes, it wasn''t that difficult to gather them. He unwrapped the belt and looked around.


    "Listen up! Until now indeed I was powerless. But from now on, you won''t have your way anymore! I had enough of your bullshit! It''s my turn now!"


    He whipped the belt.


    "I won''t endure your ridiculing gazes anymore!"


    He whipped again.


    "I won''t just watch as you make fun of me!"


    He whipped with every word.


    "And finally! I! WILL! NOT! TOLARATE! WHEN YOU BASTARDS! HIT! MY! FRIENDS!"


    And he whipped for one final time. After looking around the people for a while, he left with Katsuki. He intentionally made his way towards the back of a building and when they turned the corner he let go of his breath and supported himself with the wall. He was sweating profusely and his breath was jagged.


    "You okay Ryuu?"


    "Yeah, somewhat. Let''s go before something happens."

 Chapter 007 - Behind The Scenes

    While Ryuuya was wreaking havoc in the school grounds, Evil God was out of the campus. He knew what happened to Shiro and he wanted to help the boys get over it but something urgent came up and he had to leave. On his way out he saw Katsuki neasr the infirmary, punching the wall and cursing himself for his inability and consoled him.


    "There wasn''t anything you could do Akagi so get over it. Your friend needs you right now and you are here doing nothing. Anyway, there''s nothing you can do so just return to your room. And take Ryuuya with you too. That idiot is releasing his aura."


    "Yes sir."


    After Katsuki left he looked out the window and muttered.


    "Now for the other idiot."


    He slowly walked out of the building and then calmly made his way towards the main entrance of the campus. The security guard looked at him confusedly and when he realized who was leaving he tried to approach and offer a vehicle but Evil God lifted his hand to stop him and kept on walking.


    His aim was one of the less crowded areas of this part of town. He kept walking until it was sunset through various back alleys and districts. He walked quite a distance from the school. He was getting hungry so he decided to enter a restaurant.


    He had a pleasant meal and continued walking. He was walking aimlessly at this point as what he waited hadn''t happened yet. And since it didn''t happen, he had free time and he was going to do everything in his powers to have a great time. So he was like a teen hanging around the local shopping district.


    When he was buying a cold beverage to drink, he realized that he was getting bored. So he decided to return. There was an area he knew that was perfect for this. So he started walking there. It was an abandoned district because it was quite close to one of the gates that opened during D-Day.


    Evil God walked while occasionally taking a sip from his drink and arrived at the ruined district. It was hard to call this place a district anymore as there were no standing buildings remaining. There were only ruins here and memories. You could see the occasional wild dog here and there but feeling seeing Evil God they immediately ran away. After stopping at a fairly large clearing it finally happened. A light ray landed on his back and it bounced back towards its owner.


    "You finally decided to talk."


    "Kh! What are you?!"


    "Dude we need to talk about your dressing sense. How can you wear those shoes?! They will get dirty very easily!"


    Evil God turned around and faced the man that approached him. This man was blonde and was average height. He was definitely a foreigner as his face was more like a Russian''s. Everything he wore, apart from his tie, was white. This was to signify his allegiance. This was an angel from Heaven''s Light.


    This angel attacked Evil God from behind before saying anything but instead if hurting him, there wasn''t a single scratch even on his clothes. Instead, the attack bounced back and heavily injured his right arm and he was currently bleeding.


    "Stop joking around and answer my question!"


    "Hmm? Why should I?"


    "Do you know who I am?!"


    "Yeap!" *slurp*


    Even in a situation like this, Evil God did not neglect drinking his cold beverage. The person in front of him was thoroughly enraged.


    "Hnnng! Answer me!"


    "Haah fiiine."


    After he spoke he released his aura and an image started to take form behind him. This image was heavily using fire in its design and it had a tremendous amount of pressure coming off of it. Evil God took one final sip but it was too much for one sip only so his brain froze. And with that, the image started to decrease in size and Evil God turned while holding his forehead.


    "Ah! Ssssss! Brain freeze, brain freeze!"


    "B-but¡­ but that''s impossible! Ho-ho-how can you be here?!"

    "A-all those others. Everyone else can''t be here without possessing a human. Like I''m doing right now!"


    "Yeah that''s how it is."


    "Why can''t they enter like you do?! What is your secret?!"

    After this answer, the blonde guy was visibly shaken and terrified. He even forgot about his bleeding arm.


    "I''m sure the seal I just showed you is enough to prove my identity. Now listen."


    When he finished his words, the air around Evil God completely changed. His voice dropped an octave and his eyes became more chilling.


    "I don''t have much time to begin with so tell that God or whatever to come himself. I don''t have time for his lackeys."


    With a wave of his hand, Evil God created a black gate, very similar to the one he created to train Shiro. But that one didn''t have any connections to it while this had a destination. Before the blonde guy in front of him could react, Evil God waved his hand once more and made the gate envelop the blonde guy. And after an instant, the gate passed the blonde guy and made him disappear. After that Evil God crumbled the empty cup and threw it in a nearby thrash can while walking to class.


    "I wonder what the kids did. Shiro should be up in a couple of days so should I increase the training?"


    Meanwhile the blonde guy was sent to an unexpected place. He was in a very familiar place to him. Everywhere around him was shining white and gold. There were people flying across the sky. He was the only person whose feet were touching the ground. The sky was azure and it felt like you could touch it if you reached for it.


    The mountains were taller than any mountain on Earth and the clouds were huge as well. The sky was boundless and the horizon was so big that one would ask is this even a world.


    This place was called ''Heaven''; the world of angels and domain of God. This was the one place that Heaven protected with its everything. The blonde guy was shocked to find himself in this place. Even more shocking was the fact that his vessel was brought with him. He was an angel in the body of a human from Heaven''s Light. That was the only way to visit Earth for higher beings like them and his mission was to find the reason for it.


    He found an abnormally powerful human in Japan and went to investigate. That person came out as the Leader of Purgatory, the Evil God himself!


    "To think he had this kind of power!"


    It should be known that connecting two places with each other through a small gate was hard enough, let alone sending something or someone through. But what Evil God did was connecting a lower world with a higher one and not a normal higher world, Heaven itself! This was more that contradicting the laws of space-time!


    As the angel stood there being shocked, a voice called for him. This voice was extremely calm, charming and relaxing. If a person heard this voice talk they would probably melt down from relaxation. This voice belonged to God, the Leader of Heaven.


    "Welcome home, my child."


    "!!! Your Holiness!"


    After the angel heard this voice he didn''t dare to stand one second more and immediately dropped on the ground and prostrated. A human shaped light silhouette landed in front of this angel and spoke with a gentle voice.


    "Tell me what happened."


    "Your Holiness, I went to Earth as you ordered and investigated the cause for the need of a vessel. Even though I couldn''t find the exact reason, I found something more interesting than that."


    "Intriguing. Continue."


    "If what I saw was authentic, then the Leader of Purgatory, Evil God is currently residing in Earth in a country called Japan."


    "Him? I heard he wasn''t home but to find him there¡­ That''s a little discontenting. Is there anything I should now of?"


    "He said something else but I think it needn''t be mentioned."


    "I will be the judge of that child. Speak."


    "He said that the reason no one is allowed on Earth with their true power is because of his interference."


    "Interesting."


    "Your Holiness, may I?"


    "Speak your mind."


    Angel cleared his throat before speaking. He was already nervous enough that his icon of worship is in front of him but now he was talking to this holy being?! That was huge for him!


    "I think what he said is impossible your holiness. I heard stories about him, stories of what he did and various other legends but to think even stopping you? Surely he is over estimating himself! I believe it to be baseless lies."


    "I see. Is that your thought?"


    "Yes, Your Holiness."


    "I understand. You are dismissed. My child."


    "As you wish but if I may ask, what of my vessel? He will die the instant I leave his body."


    "Oh don''t worry, as you won''t get to leave that body ever again."


    "I''m sorry? Kuhk!"


    After this conversation, the angel felt an invisible pressure on himself. This pressure was trying to break his bones, crush his organs and crumble his whole being to dust. He tried to struggle against it but it was meaningless as this was the will of God. God watched as one of his angels, one of his faithful servants turn to ash. After the angel died, God''s voice became lower and more vicious


    "I don''t need you anymore. You took that long to return without any results! Pathetic! At least you returned with some interesting finds so I forgive your sins. Now then, it seems you are having fun ''Evil God''. Let''s see if you can continue living so carefreely anymore."


    God then turned around and looked behind him. He then calmly spoke out.


    "Gabriel."


    "Your orders."


    Behind him, where he looked, appeared a young man with 3 sets of wings behind him kneeling on one knee. This was the Archangel Gabriel, tasked with sending God''s orders to their appropriate recipients. He always knew of what he was supposed to do, even if God didn''t tell him the full details. The order, the receiver; everything he needed for that task.


    "Go to the Earth and tell them to begin the next phase of the plan."


    "Your Holiness? That means¡­"


    "Precisely. Be swift, Gabriel."


    "By your will."


    Without wasting one more second, Gabriel got up and started flying to a certain place on Heaven. God looked at him while he was going and muttered to himself with a happy tone.


    "Finally we are starting. I should go prepare as well."

    Our reason to do this is because the author for both Evil God''s Disciple (formerly Lord of 7) and I Was A God Until I Got Summoned had an unfortunate accident on a ride back home and broke his arm. His arm is currently in a cast and can''t write by hand and with a keyboard. A friend of ours offered to pick up the series and asked to reboot it after seeing the comments and rewrite it with some minor changes. Mainly some character changes.The author''s narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.


    Unfortunately he only offered that for our God of Magic so Evil God''s Disciple will be on hiatus until further notice, if there are any readers that wait on it, please be advised.
