《DarkVoid: The God of Death》 Prologue PROLOGUE Hell, a place where the tormented souls arrive to upon death. A place where no one in the living would ever want to visit, fordemons and other demonic entities inhabit this realm, tearing any souls apart. Delving deeper into this realm, was a singular massive land that was a galaxy in length. The area itself was surrounded and shrouded with thick, black ominous storm clouds that never dissipate, making the sky terrifying yet beautiful to look from the ground. The storm was alive and furious, directing that rage towards the beings who had sin in their lives, every crackle of thunder was it, mocking the sinners who screamed in horror. Of course, the land wasn¡¯t too kind at all either. Obsidian was the dominant material as it covered most of the surface area in hell. Originated by countless centuries of volcanic eruptions from numerous amounts of volcanoes, some the size of planets and even stars. These volcanoes were common among the land, which was divided into three areas, The Dominion, The Central and The Civil, they were separated by two titan size walls that reach far up in the blacken thunderstorm skies. Each wall was black as the hellish clouds themselves, blending in with the environment, incredible material that can withstand the harsh beatings of the raging storms and eruptions from supervolcanos. It was almost sure that nothing could penetrate these walls. No matter the area, any mortal with a pair of eyes, would be able to see the Walls from afar, making it one of the only beautiful expects in hell. One of these walls was the Wall of Adramalech, separating The Dominion from The Central and the Wall of Abigor separated The Central from The Civil. This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there. At the west of the land and the smallest was The Dominion, the overall commanding capital of Hell. An unknown area kept a secret with confidential information pertaining to the empire and military as none has ever dared to step foot in this section without certain death or erasure. At the east, was the second largest, known as The Civil. This section was known as the birthplace of the demon race and was also the military might of the empire. Although, that¡¯s all the information that most mortals would have on the area as no sinner venture into The Civil, where it was utterly overpopulated by demons and demons alone. The Dominion and The civil were the unknown, no mortal, living or the dead, truly know the full background of these places, but what the dead do know of and were experiencing themselves was one section, the chaotic area known as The Central. Filled to the brim with thickest, polluted fill air unimaginable. The screams of the suffering echoed against the walls, throughout the area, no matter how far you go. It was like a maze, series of canyons that plague the region, mix with the most active volcanoes in all of hell. While this land had countless amounts of canyons, they were all connected to the largest, which was the Atazoth, a massive canyon, located near the middle of The Central, only one end stretching towards the Wall of Abigor. The canyon itself was able to support countless of sinners with a ton of room to spare. At the start of the canyon, near the Wall of Abigor was an area known as The Isolation. A designated area for those that caused too much trouble in the central section. As the name suggests, one mortal is put into a single space only watched by one demon. Of course, it didn¡¯t exempt them from pain. Like any other mortal, they all suffer the same fate, although a bit more tedious. Even still, these mortals cried out from the extreme torment, wanting it to end. Including one mortal, a human, however, he was much different than the rest. He held in that pain in himself, not one single cry of help or a plead. No tears nor any care in the world¡ His name was Jonathan Reid. Chapter 1: Void The young adult had short black messy hair, dropping down to his forehead. Clothing was limited, only wearing old beat up rag for shorts and was shirtless, exposing his frail, weak body with ugly bruises, and scars that it had attained in this torturous prison. Jonathan or what he liked to be more known as Jon, for so long had ignored the pain from these injuries. For you see, his mind was all but lost, blank as it could be, his eyes no longer see anything of use. He withholds his screams of agony, grunting at most from the worst of pains. Instead, he bottled them up and carried out his torturous duty by carrying a moderate size volcanic rock across miles of the rough and burning texture of the obsidian ground, barefooted. Every step he took was like walking on burning needles, his legs were sore as they could be. Of course, having to walk and carry a rock every single moment would eat away his stamina in no time. The skin tissue on his body wasn¡¯t in great shape either as he gained a higher degree of burning flesh from every second he held onto the rock. Hobbling across the scorching land for over 10 meters until he came across a large pool of lava. Halting, with weak, frail arms, he lets go of the large rock and watch as it sunk further down into the molten pool. The human crouched to get a few moments of rest, closing his soulless eyes to gasp for air, relaxing as his body began to heal. Not quite fast but slow and steady in the process. Every wound and burns his skin had faced in this torture were gone, even the pain from his injuries dissipated into nonexistence, for now, that is. Jon¡¯s body looked perfectly normal as if he never undertook any extreme punishments. The human, however, knew better, the minor regeneration had flaws specifically design and implemented by the hellish creatures themselves. His wounds were healed, but his body was still very much exhausted, gritting his teeth at how sore his legs and arms still were. He cursed under his breath, for the demons were devious enough to not let any sustain bone injuries such as his fracture ankle or his stamina to never heal. Every sinner in hell had this minor regen, it was tailored to the mortals as a way to make them feel the same pain repeatedly without outright killing, a brutal method indeed. A minute of rest was all he received, without warning, another volcanic rock emerged from the pool of heat from the left of him. Sighing once more, he reopened his eyes and stood up to walk behind the rock. His body was reluctant to move any further, pushing forward, he crouch and wrapped his arms under the object. The mortal grunted as his arms Instinctively moved away from the burning heat still radiating from the object. Tightening his fist and clenching his jaw, he forced his arms around the boulder, he could feel his skin tissue sizzling like a slab of meat on a grill. With his ounce of strength left, he lifted it up The weak human continued onward to his other destination. His nervous system bothered him to no end, but no scream was let out. He refused to let the cry escape his lips, keeping everything bottled up inside, his eyes were cold as ice, for the human had already gotten used to the pain. Jon traveled for 20 meters until he halted in front of another pool of lava, an exact copy from the last one. Not paying much mind, he mustered up his strength and lightly toss the rock, or tried too... Unfortunately for the sinner, his arms didn¡¯t budge as they exceeded their strength limiter. ¡°Great¡¡± He muttered under his shaky breath, his voice deep and raspy as he lessened his grip on the rock, letting it fall towards the ground. With a heavy sigh, Jon raised his leg and push the object forward into the lava pit. He only had a minute of rest before a new one also appeared liked before, continuing this tedious cycle again for all of eternity, until he was assigned to a different position of course. But the broken human knew that wasn¡¯t going to happen anytime soon. While he continued his chore, Jon couldn¡¯t help but feel a nagging feeling in the back of his mind, a dark, eerie presence emerged. ¡°So, how is it going with your rock carrying session, Jon?¡± An unsettling yet playful voice said. It was a pleasant voice description of what a psychopathic killer would sound like to the ears of a reasonable person. Just from hearing it in your head would send chills down their spines, but also the eerie malicious presence adding into the factor would make your heart stop in fear for your life, even if you¡¯re already dead. However, for Jon, he didn¡¯t waver one bit. In fact, the human was well acquainted with the voice in his head. Unamused, he rolled his eyes from the annoying comment. Instead, he answered with a simple ¡°Shut it.¡± before continuing to carry the rock a 500th time to the same destinations. ¡°Aw, don¡¯t be like that buddy of mine. We¡¯ll go through this together like two minds thinking like one! Am I right?¡± ¡°Huh? Don¡¯t make me laugh¡± Jon struggled to talk, but he maintained his composure, ¡°You¡¯re more like a nuisance than anything.¡±You might be reading a stolen copy. Visit Royal Road for the authentic version. ¡°Well shoot, I thought we were finally bonding in this whimsical place, but I guess you¡¯re still a demoralized soul.¡± ¡°Explained to me how I¡¯m demoralized?¡± ¡°Oh, do I have to tell you this? HeHeh oh well I guess we have an eternity in here, might as well.¡± The human pressed his lips together, ¡°Please do tell. ¡°Well it¡¯s obvious since the beginning of our time in here, you¡¯ve been emotionless. Your attempts of containing your cries of suffering lead me to believe that you lost your confidence. Trying all your hardest to regain that lost piece back into your personal keep by not being a little crying baby.¡± A loud exasperated sigh escaped his lips as he dropped the rock down an inch from his feet. Limping his way to the right side of it and without a care in the world, he fell back first on the ground¡heated obsidian ground. His eyes widen from the few cracks he heard, which caused massive amounts of pain to surge throughout his body, but chose to ignore it ¡°Great, is that all you¡¯re gonna tell me? I really want to get some rest, so spit out anything from your nonexistent mouth before I do.¡± He said, closing his eyes. ¡°My, My, what an attitude you¡¯ve picked up. I suggest you wipe it away when you¡¯re speaking to ME little boy, don¡¯t forget IM the reason for your unnaturally high pain tolerance HehEHEH! If I wanted to, I could deactivate it and watch your confidence dwindle like a spark of fire in a blizzard.¡± The maliciousness in its voice was apparent, Jon could feel his entire body was being gripped by powerful invisible aura around him. He knew the creature in his head was a malicious spirit of some kind, possibly a demon that entered his mind when arriving in hell. For all intents and purposes, this demon was in his thoughts to monitor his torturous duty or another case he could be losing his mind and only imagining the second voice, but Jon knew those two couldn¡¯t possibly be the case. Whatever this thing was in his mind was there from the very beginning when he arrived in hell. Maybe even dated back when he was first alive. Unfortunately, he couldn¡¯t remember anything of his past life. Possibly due to some magical bullshit of some kind, he didn¡¯t know. But for one thing he knew the malicious creature in his head was helping him in the long run, it seemed to know a lot about Jon himself, and its name, Void, sounding very familiar to the tongue, like Jon had spoken that name a few times before his arrival. Whatever it was he knew to not trust it thoroughly, and not to fear it. ¡°Psh, I doubt that even you would want to hear me scream from every second during my ridiculous chores. ¡°Hehe, You¡¯re right. I like seeing mortals and gods in agony but hearing it at every constant second would infuriate me. Hell, I consider your body mine, so I don¡¯t want to see my own body torture.¡± The response eased the human¡¯s mind. Jon wasn¡¯t particularly afraid of the demon in his head; instead, he only feared at the possibility of losing his high pain tolerance, it¡¯s what kept him from being overly aggressive to the spirit. Voids powers were a mystery to him, mysterious and troublesome. From what he could recount, the entity was the sole reason he was relocated to the isolation layer. It boggled him to this day since he remembered being unconscious, yet he could feel his body moving on its own like it was possessed... This Void was psychotic, and factoring in its puzzling powers only made it worse. The only thing he could do is be cautious, and wearily around the malicious spirit, it was the only method. With Void¡¯s compliance, the human began to relax and rested his eyes. ¡°Your personality shift is so interesting heheh I remember you only being such a quiet, shy little cry baby¡ Well, that quiet part still stands.¡± The spirit successfully captured the mortal¡¯s attention, annoyed by the comment, he responded: ¡°I wish you could stop fucking around and tell me about my past life." ¡°What¡¯s the point? It wouldn¡¯t matter if you knew or not. Let me remind you that we¡¯re stuck here forever so knowing your past will only haunt you till your revival, which in all honesty is out of the question, and not to mention your faith in me is low. I doubt you¡¯ll trust everything I say is the truth.¡± The sinner had to admit the answer was valid, ¡°Tsk, I guess you got a point.¡± he hated himself for agreeing. ¡°Heheh Also, don¡¯t slouch for too long or else something spectacular is going to happen.¡± Ignoring the warning, the human relaxed as much as he could. A grin appeared as he could feel his muscles recovering from its tedious duties. The human didn¡¯t intend to sleep, I mean how could he sleep when he heard screams of sheer agony entered his thoughts. It was nigh impossible to think clearly when he saw visions of the most inhumane torturing of all different kinds of people appear in his head. He could see the faces of people with their limbs chopped off one by one, blood sprinkling everywhere to soak the ground in all its glory. Those same cut off limbs were fed back to their original owners with force. Choking and vomiting on the ground, mixing it with their blood. These scenes replayed in his mind, the worst being it was the least horrible and disgusting method he had seen. Not even in the top 100¡ His could feel his thoughts going rampant, enough where he needed to reopen his eyes and look up at the black sky. Before he could admire the dark, beautiful beauty of the sky, a loud booming voice from behind reach across the land to his ears. ¡°HUMAN!!!¡± Jon flinched from the voice, sighing in defeat. ¡°Tsk. So, this is what you meant for a spectacular moment.¡± he turned around, and not a moment noticed a giant hand enveloped around his head. The muscular arms lifted Jon up in the air. ¡°What are you doing little mortal?!¡± Asked by a demon of sorts. The human couldn¡¯t really see with the hand covering his eyes but judging from its menacing voice he presumed to be a very thick-headed fiend. I guess it wasn¡¯t saying much since all demons were thick headed. Jon could hear Void being an ass, ¡°Ooo, you got yourself quite in a predicament Mr. Reid. Told you so Heheh.¡± Only four words came to his mind, Shut the fuck up. 3 He paid his attention back to the demon. Even though he couldn¡¯t see it, he knew that its patience was running thin. ¡°I was only taking a nice break nothing more nothing less.¡± he casually said Just as he thought, it''s patience was very thin as it added more pressure to his head, which caused him to flinch. ¡°There are no breaks in Hell!¡± The fiend moved Its right hand a bit, uncovering Jon¡¯s left eye. Now he was able to see what he was dealing with here. He tried to get a glimpse of its full body, but due to his limited point of view, he could only see its head. It wasn¡¯t a big deal to Jon; the head was all he needed to be able to guess the size of the rest of the body, just like any other demon he had encountered. They were all similar from head to toe. From the looks of it, the demon had rough, charcoal black skin. Now, Jon wasn¡¯t entirely basing it on looks alone, the large hand on his head felt sharp enough to slice the skin off. So, he presumed the rest of his body was also this same texture. What surprised him the most was his head, to him it resembled a skull of a human, but not entirely as there were some noticeable differences. One of these differences was the medium sized horns with some minor cracks that protruded out of its head. Another was that his eye sockets didn¡¯t have any eyeballs whatsoever; he only saw black, like the eyes of a skull, and the nose was a small nasal bone. The last thing that Jon was able to see was an angry expression directed at him where its mouth showed rows of sharp teeth. Just the way it looked plus the way it acted, he knew that he had to be cautious with this demon, but at the same time, deep in his mind, he wanted to see where this would lead. ¡°Look you fuck face motherfucker I¡¯m giving myself a break here because I¡¯ve been working myself very hard since I¡¯ve been here. So, let me rest just for a little while, then I¡¯ll do my punishment for another 300 years. Is that alright with you?¡± He tried his best to be calm, but anger was evident in his voice. Just like any other demon, it didn¡¯t take this lightly as it added even more pressure to his head, which Jon groaned at this pain. ¡°What did you call me mortal!? I don¡¯t think you know who you are dealing with here." It lifted its other hand to tighten it into a fist, "I am Terik the second strongest demon there is, behind the God of Sin of course!¡± Terik lifted him slowly until he was eye level with Jon, ¡°So, show me some respect sinful mortal.¡± Anger was slowly seeping inside of him, but he stayed calmed and spoke, ¡°Oh, so you want respect? Okay, let me give you some respect.¡± He spat in Terik¡¯s left eye. ¡°ARGH YOU DISGUSTING MORTAL!¡± Terik forcefully threw Jon a couple of feet away onto the rocky ground. On the receiving end, Jon landed on the ground face first with a couple of bones broken from the fall, he struggled to stand up, but as he did, he felt an immense headache. Most likely caused by the constant pressure added to his head. ¡°Ow my fucking head!¡± he said in discomfort as he rubbed his temple, ¡°To be honest, I''m kinda surprised that even worked.¡±If you discover this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation. Enduring the throbbing pain, he turned his head to gaze at Terik, and to say the least, Terik was a demon he should not have been messing with. Terik had massive, lengthy arms that would most likely be able to destroy a volcanic rock in one single blow; his massive legs were just as, if not lengthier than his arms, they made him around 7 feet tall. Just as he thought, the rest of his body had that rough rocky texture, with his chest having large black scars etched into it. His feet were like that of a human, but with much sharper nails. His hands were the same. ¡°How dare you spit your disgusting filth in my eye!¡± ¡°Quit whining. You don¡¯t even have eyeballs, so I don¡¯t fucking know how that even hurt, to begin with.¡± ¡°It¡¯s not that it hurts, it''s more the fact that a mortal of sin disrespected me by spitting in my eye! For that, I¡¯m going to break every single one of your bones like a toy.¡± ¡°Psh I¡¯m not afraid of you nor your race. Do whatever you want to me, but I¡¯m not going to kiss your ass and let you give me orders.¡± ¡°Is that so?¡± Terik cracked his neck and bulged up his muscles even more, ¡°Then I¡¯ll be happy to reinforce that fear back!¡± Terik walked towards Jon with a red aura slowly surrounding him, which made him more intimidating to look at. However, Terik wasn¡¯t what he worried about the most. The suffering he was going to have to endure was what bothered him. It was never the aggressors that scared him. It was their cruel methods that made him want to scream. Even though he tried his best too not show, deep down, he wanted to yell every time he felt the worst of pains. The only feeling he ever felt besides anger was the pain. It was all he had ever known. But what hurt him the most was seeing people getting tortured, their screams of agony haunted him. Each time he closed his eyes he could hear their cries, resonating in his mind, their faces all showed true anguish that he never wanted to experience. But of course, he had. He experienced those terrible methods. He was once like them. A weak-minded individual, but as he was continuously tortured, his mind became stronger each time he suffered. With the help of Void, never again would he be a weakling. He now had a new-found commitment, never to let hell or the pain of suffering get the better of him. To not let these demons, get the benefit of seeing him in torturous pain. He nervously stared at the red aura surrounding the angry demon as he thought, ¡°Never again you motherfucker. I don¡¯t care how big or strong you are. I won¡¯t give in.¡± As Terik continued to get closer to the second, Jon stood his ground, ¡°Hm maybe, this is a good time to intervene Void.¡± ¡±Heheh, I¡¯ll wait a little longer until the good part starts.¡± ¡°And when¡¯s that?!¡± ¡°Soon enough... heheh.¡± Jon sighed at Voids incompliance to help, ¡°Well I expected that.¡± He reluctantly limped his way towards his aggressor, ¡°I¡¯m not going to let fear overrule me.¡± Stopping 5 feet away from Terik, the size difference between the two was instantly noticeable. Terik¡¯s overall body structure dwarfs Jon¡¯s in comparison, who was only 5¡¯11 with a fatigued body. He stared into the pair of black eyes that bore into his mind. ¡°I must admit mortal. You got guts to stand in front of me without any fear.¡± ¡°It ain¡¯t guts. I just have bigger balls than you.¡± Not waiting any moment, Terik launched a surprising punch to his gut that made Jon crouch to knee level as he wrapped his arms around himself. He coughed up large amounts of blood until he struggled to slowly look back at Terik with a half smirk, ¡°Hah what kind of a pussy punch was that.¡± He said still out of breath. Again, Terik pounded at his face for 5 seconds until Jon had fallen to the ground. Blood was seeping out from his nostrils, ear canals, mouth, and eyes. His face was so unrecognizable that he could¡¯ve been mistaken for a corpse. Blood was clogged up in his ear. He couldn¡¯t hear anything, only his thoughts. ¡°This pain¡ I¡¯ve put up with it for so long, and yet I can¡¯t do anything to stop it...¡± Anger was swelling within him, but he knew he couldn¡¯t act on it, not in this condition. ¡°I don¡¯t want to feel¡ any more pain...But at least I didn¡¯t give it that benefit¡¡± His eyes slowly closed as he struggled to keep them open, but before he went out, he heard Void¡¯s voice one last time. ¡°The good part starts¡ Now.¡± 4 As he laid on the ground unconscious, the regeneration had started to heal his body very slowly. It treated the significant injuries first, which was going to take a very long time before Jon was partially recovered. While this was happening, Terik smiled evilly at the battered body. It was delighted to see the mortal who had caused it so much trouble, in such a horrible condition. Having enough, it turned around and started walking off, ¡°Now you can take your little break, but don¡¯t get too comfortable, I¡¯ll be back soon to fetch my weapon. With this special weapon I¡¯ll be able to kill you a second time, only this time it¡¯ll erase you for good.¡± As it was planning the demise of the mortal, it suddenly felt a strange presence within the unconscious body, but it didn¡¯t think anything of it until the atmosphere darkened from the disturbing surge of power. The unsettling feeling made Terik¡¯s muscles stiffen in place, almost as if fear paralyzed him. ¡°What is this evil power that I¡¯m sensing?! It feels so potent that it even clouded Hell!¡± Terik shouted as it used more of its strength and power to break out of the fear paralysis. Terik tried sensing where this power was coming from, which led back to where it had come from. ¡°Wait, no. There is no fucking way. It can¡¯t be!¡± Upon this realization, Terik immediately turned around to look at the unconscious body and was surprised to see a mysterious black thin aura enveloping the mortal. However, that wasn¡¯t what caught its attention the most. Something else was occurring within his body that wasn¡¯t human in the slightest. The mortal¡¯s bones from every part were cracking as it was intentionally breaking and dislocating them while it healed back instantly, just to snap again. Disturbingly, his body and limbs cracked even more as he slowly pulled himself back on his feet. He stared directly at the ground, raven black hair slightly covering his eyes, obscuring most of his face except a somewhat unsettling grin. He opened his mouth slightly to let loose a quiet but terrifying giggle. The dark aura dissipated, along with the bruises that were visible on his body from before. ¡°How did you do that?! There¡¯s no possible way that a sinner can heal this fast and get this much power at the same time! ¡° The only response Terik received was more sadistic giggles as his bones cracked one last time. ¡°ANSWE- ¡° The demon was interrupted by a burst of speed that rushed towards Terik, who in the nick of time noticed Jon display the most psychotic yet horrifying face looking directly at its eyes ¡°What the?!¡± It only lasted a second before Jon threw a punch at Terik¡¯s abdomen with enough force to push the demon a few feet away. A crack was heard coming from Jon¡¯s right arm, which was now limping ¡°Oh darn I seemed to have broken it,¡± a pop sounded as he moved his arm freely around, ¡°never mind it¡¯s all healed now Heheh.¡± Jon¡¯s voice had a higher tone than before. It sounded more like a sadistic yet playful tone. Completely different than Jon¡¯s usual depressing, deep voice. Almost as if he was a different person. On the other side, Terik was slightly bent over as it was coughing minimal amounts of blood from the impact. Apparently having a difficult time breathing and still quite shocked at the speed and power this sinner had achieved in such little time. ¡°Is this even the same piece of shit that I knocked around with?!¡± it thought. This book''s true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience. ¡°How did you get so much stronger!?¡± Terik then noticed his sclerae were no longer white but black instead. ¡°You can¡¯t be the same person that I had beaten up effortlessly!¡± With another creepy chuckle, he replied, ¡°Well, you¡¯re not wrong about that, I¡¯m not the same person. That mortal you pummeled was Jonathan Reid. I, however, am not a mortal. I¡¯m precisely like you, only much¡ much worse.¡± He waved at Terik with the same psychotic face as before, ¡°Just call me Void!¡± That face gave Terik goosebumps on its entire body, it shook it off and replied, ¡°Void? I¡¯ve never heard of a demon by that name.¡± It was right, Terik knew many demons among the ranks and never had it heard of any demon or creature by the name of Void. ¡°Awe, I¡¯m depressed now. I¡¯ve been long since forgotten.¡± He said faking a sad tone. ¡°You¡¯re starting to piss me off more than that mortal! Even with more power at your disposal, you¡¯re still not a match for me! I¡¯m the second strongest in hell! That punch you threw was just child¡¯s play.¡± Terik said as it coughed up more blood. The pride of this demon made it too retarded for its kind. This was too comedic for Void; he had to put a hand over his mouth to keep himself from laughing, ¡°Heh, says the one who¡¯s currently bent over and coughing abundant amounts of blood. Just from a child¡¯s play punch, which is pathetic.¡± He giggled as he shook his head in shame. ¡°That just speaks volume about your sturdiness hehe.¡± ¡°What are you talking about?! That punch was nothing to me! Nothing at all!¡± Void couldn¡¯t hold it anymore as he burst out laughing, ¡°If this body weren¡¯t so damn fragile, you would be dead right now.¡± He said, basically taunting it at this point, which indeed worked as Terik was engulfed in its red aura. ¡°SHUT. THE. FUCK UUUPP!¡± the demon rushed towards Void, hell-bent on brutally beating this mortal into submission. ¡°Did I strike a chord? HAHAh.¡± He said as he quickly looked around at his surroundings. Closing in on him, Terik threw a series of punches directly at Void who avoided every single one. He countered each punch with punches of his own, jabbing at the elbows or arms at the right time. Terik was exhausting his strength from each missing punch. He started to hit less and less frequently as his arms felt they were weakening. Very frustrated at this, he yelled, ¡°Just stay still you runt!¡± ¡°No can do, it¡¯ll ruin my strategy dumbass! HahaHa!¡± Feeling confident, Void positioned himself and held his hand up to an incoming punch; he then swiftly jumped outward to let the force of the blow hit his hand to propel himself into the air. He flew and landed a few meters away. ¡°I¡¯m over here now HEhheh¡± He taunted with a large smug grin plastered on his face and arms wide open. Again, it worked as Terik dashed the grinning madman. ¡°You¡¯re going to fucking die now!¡± Terik furious said as it closed in on him to throw a right punch at the defenseless being. But right at that moment, Void sidestepped the punch, which led Terik into almost falling in a pool of lava. The demon managed to stop itself with its face only a foot away. At that moment, Void did a 180¡ã turn and with a maniac mindset, used his left hand to splash lava on its face, which made him stagger back. ¡°Argh!¡± The mortal launched an uppercut, but Terik recovered earlier than he had expected; it dodged the attack, and quickly countered with a punched to his face, or so it thought as Void¡¯s neck cracked in an unnatural position to avoid the contact. ¡°What!?!¡± Terik exclaimed. Using this to his advantage, he gripped its right arm with his left and lifted himself further into the air to deliver a right hook to its face, leaving it stunned. ¡°Thank you for the lift Heha.¡± He remarked as he fell on his feet. ¡°Now that you have exhausted pretty much all of your energy, I¡¯m going to end it now with a grand finale.¡± Still stunned, Void rushed from behind to climb onto its back, and with both hands, he latched onto his horns. ¡°I¡¯m going to make you suffer! So, scream for me! Let the pain consume you!¡± Void summoned a great deal of his strength and pulled on its horns with all his might. ¡°AGHAH NOO PLEASE! HAVE MERCY AGHH¡± Terik screamed in pure agony as blood was spurting out of its neck like a fountain. Void laughed uncontrollably like a maniac as he used more of his strength. He felt pleasure in seeing beings suffer, the suffering of others fueled him to no degree. He mainly wanted to see this worthless demon suffer and die from his hands. With a final laugh, he brutally tore off Terik¡¯s head without any mercy. Blood exploded everywhere. Some of it landed on his face, but that didn¡¯t make him waver. ¡°Ohhh it¡¯s been so long since I made someone suffer other than that brat! Heha!¡± he said as he licked the blood off his hands. He jumped off the body and tossed its head behind him. However, at that moment, Void began to waver a bit from exhaustion. ¡°Sadly, my stamina has been depleted from this fight. Hehhe we¡¯re so fucked.¡± He said with a final giggle, before falling to the ground unconscious. Chapter 2: Summoning ¡°What in the world was that unnerving power?¡± questioned by an individual that appeared to be a human male, he wore a lab coat litter with dried stains of blood, indicating that he was a scientist of sorts. The left sleeve of his coat was torn off. The shirt he wore under was a dirty v neck brown t-shirt. He wore khaki pants that were oddly enough undamaged compared to the rest of the clothing he wore. His brown eyes were sharp and analytical, while his brown hair was messy and ungroomed. He was known as Eraak, and he was heading towards a destination in hopes of finding the answers. ¡°The Isolation. Is this where that unnerving power came from?¡± Eraak said as he stopped at the edge of a cliff, he squinted to see anything out of the ordinary, but being this far up was difficult for the scientist to see. At last, his eyes were able to spot two bodies on the ground. Which, was very unusual. Not the unconscious bodies but the fact that there were two individuals in The Isolation. As the name implies, it was supposed to be only one sinner in a specific area. There were two. Eraak tried his best to get a closer look but he couldn¡¯t without falling off the cliff, he was only able to see an outline of them. He could, however, faintly tell the larger one was most likely a demon, but without his binoculars, he wouldn¡¯t be able to say. If his guess were right, then this would peek his curiosity even more. More questions entered his head. If that was a demon, then why was it on the ground unconscious? What could have beaten it? It couldn¡¯t have been the sinner, right? These questions surrounded his head, and it agitated him to no end. On the bright side, if it was indeed the sinner that had done this, then he had found a suitable test subject that could survive his exidus experiment. ¡°Yes, this is good, this is very good. I must hurry and retrieve this mortal¡¯s body before any unwanted people show up!¡± he said as he immediately jumped off the cliff. Now, this cliff wasn¡¯t small by no means; in height, it was most likely around 60 to 90 meters tall. However, that wasn¡¯t enough to deter the insane scientist. In fact, he was screaming in joy, not in a panic. His adrenaline, mixed with his excitement made it impossible for him to feel any fear as he free fall towards the ground with laughter. Eraak landed on his legs, but as predicted, upon impact his legs were bent in wrong ways that shouldn¡¯t be possible. ¡°Not again!¡± he hurried to grab a syringe from his coat pocket and forcefully injected his arm. This story has been unlawfully obtained without the author''s consent. Report any appearances on Amazon. A beep sounded from the syringe and in a matter of time, his legs were healed back to normal as if nothing had happened. ¡°I got to be a little more careful next time.¡± He chuckled as he stood up and bolted towards the bodies again. ¡°I can already taste the power from a mile away! I must experiment with it! I must answer these questions!¡± He exclaimed as he accelerated even faster. Eraak was lost in his thoughts. He was thinking about all the possibilities this new being could hold in his experiments. If it genuinely held this power, then adding exidus would make it the most robust creature. A creature that he would need later in his plans. Arriving at his destination, Eraak glanced at the mortal and was genuinely surprised to see that it was a human. Not at all what he had expected. ¡°Well this is new, I never suspected the mortal to be a human male, more so thought it was going to be a new species that I never encountered before.¡± Eraak walked over to his body and crouched down, ¡°Very unusual indeed. How can this human summon that much power?¡± He poked the mortal''s arm, ¡°He seems far too weak to handle it. Hmm, maybe it was the demon who summoned that power?¡± Eraak stood up and looked back at the demon and noticed something unusual. Its head was missing. His eyes widen at the realization. Eraak had expected a mortal was the cause of that unnerving power, but not a human. That was beyond his imagination. More importantly this single human was able to kill a demon by ripping its head off, and not just an ordinary demon but a tier 2. Inspecting it more, he knew that it was tier 2 just by how large it was. Sure, they weren¡¯t as strong as the later tier¡¯s, but they were still capable of dishing out damage. From what he knew, a single tier 2 was strong enough to slaughter a group of military trained humans. A punch from them could end a human life in an instant, and yet this one, weakened, fatigue human was able to kill a tier 2, without a weapon? ¡°¡¡± Eraak was in complete silence. He was gathering his thoughts as he slowly looked back at the body of the human. Soon a smile appeared on his face; he knew what he had just found was the jackpot. ¡°YESS I have finally found my ultimate test subject!¡± He pointed at the body. ¡°You sir have been appointed to be my new test subject, others have failed this experiment, but I know within my heart that you will succeed and be the strongest! I''m going to change your lif-uhh death!¡± Eraak pulled out a white, black striped ball from his coat pocket. ¡°But before I do, I gotta dispose of this filth first.¡± He threw the ball at the demon. Hitting it activated the ball¡¯s hovering mechanic, which hovered over the target and within seconds, it disintegrated its body and head on a cellular level. The ball hovered back inside his coat pocket. ¡°With that out of the way, it¡¯s time for me to take you on a spectacular journey back to my lab!¡± Before he could act on his plan, Eraak overheard voices off the distance. ¡°Damn it. This won¡¯t be as easy as I thought it would be.¡± He crouched and quickly rested his palm against Jon¡¯s forehead. ¡°Su fiek fanf kieriefui das hast-¡± Unfortunately, he had to speak loud for the spell to work, which brought even more attention to him. ¡°Hey, do you hear something?¡± ¡°Yeah, it sounds like someone is enchanting a spell.¡± ¡°It¡¯s down in The Isolation! Let¡¯s hurry up and see who¡¯s causing it!¡± Eraak began to panic. He needed to go faster. ¡°Suun fierai kakkoz-¡° ¡°Search around the area!¡± ¡°ARD FELLLIZ!¡± Eraak quickly removed his hand to see a bloody handprint etched on to the mortal¡¯s forehead. It only lasted a second, which signals the completion of the spell. The worried scientist buried his hand into his pocket to pull out the small pale white creature. ¡°HEY, WE SEE YOU DOWN THERE!¡± 6 Eraak drew in a quick breath to calm his nerves. He was anxious since he had never been in this type of situation before. In every other instance, he was able to kidnap sinners without a hitch. All his kidnappings were prepared beforehand, all except this one. This event caught him by surprise; the unnerving power Eraak felt brought him here, of course, he should¡¯ve realized that others in the area would want to investigate the unknown power also. If only he had thought this through and calculated it beforehand; instead he let his excitement get the better of him. Now, he was in deep trouble causing his hands to tremble a little. This wouldn¡¯t be a problem if it weren¡¯t for the creature he held wasn¡¯t a sensitive leech. And this leech, in particular, was far too important to kill accidentally. Across the galaxy, these leeches were known as the Siberian Selfic, a mutualistic organism that gives its users the ability to become scentless and invisible at the cost of their blood. Making it a perfect creature to use for stealth. Of course, there were drawbacks. One, for example, was that the ability could only last for approximately 10 to 15 minutes, depending on the size of the leech itself. From what Eraak currently possess was a medium size Selfic that was most likely able to last for 13 minutes at most. Handling them with care was the top priority, one mistake and they¡¯ll die, and so will he. This was his last leech. Without it, there would be no way to hide Jon from sight. Upon knowing this, Eraak breath once more before carefully placing the mouth of the leech onto Jon¡¯s forehead, sticking in place as it starts to drink Jon¡¯s blood. He patiently waited, gripping his shirt in hopes that the demons were still far off from his location. Unfortunately, that wasn¡¯t the case. From a distance, he was able to hear the beat of wings approaching rapidly. They were arriving far faster than he had predicted. Thoughts ran through his head in any way to prolong their arrival. Eraak needed to by time just for a few minutes for the leech to complete its process, another disadvantage this creature had.The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement. Suddenly, an idea abrupted in his mind. The idea was to distract them with a beast, a beast that one of his colleagues had captured far back in his early years. Since then, she gave it to Eraak as appreciation for being her trusted friend, and even offer him a summoning spell that she had found in ancient ruins of a dystopian city off a war-torn planet, long lost in archives. It was known as Del Deverion. The difference between this summoning spell and the regular one was that the user didn¡¯t require a contract with the summoning creature. Instead, the user can capture a mindless beast of any kind, then enchant the ancient spell and the animal will be teleported inside a pocket dimension created only for that specific user. Fortunately, the creature, while trap, doesn¡¯t need any substance to live, they are mainly in an unconscious state, immortal and bound to the spell until either it or the user dies. A benefit of the spell was that it granted the user full power and control over their summoning. Essentially, they were able to restrict their skills, power level, or even control their bodies, although, the latter does pose a series threat to the user¡¯s stamina, which Eraak wanted to avoid. Eraak¡¯s strategy was to divert them from his location, and not just those two but also the rest of the demons near this vicinity, giving him just enough time to exit out The Central unnoticed. Eraak felt reassurance that his plan was going to work. With boosted confidence, all Eraak needed to do now was the procedure for the ancient spell. He used his nail to cut his right palm as the blood trickle down, quickly he clapped his hands together, with his left horizontal and the right vertical, he steadily moved his vertical upward, leaving a trail of blood on his palm. ¡°Now then, let see this plan in action.¡± a smirk was plaster on his face as he quickly turned around with his left fist high in the air, "Del Deverion!" he yelled as he punched the obsidian ground, simultaneously a massive explosion erupted on the cliffside. It has begun. 7 The sound of the explosion resonated across the canyon with large amounts of dust and smoke rising high up in the air into the clouds. No doubt alerting every being in the vicinity, not like the unknown source of energy hadn¡¯t already. Eraak stood back up, ears ringing from the intensity of the explosion, ¡°Okaaay I didn¡¯t expect it to be that loud!¡± ignoring the ringing in his ear, he tried to unclench his fist to found out it was stiff as a board. Not bothering to glance at it, he frowned. ¡°Oh, good I punched the ground a little too hard for my fist¡¯s liking. No matter.¡± As the ringing stopped, Eraak slowly turned his gaze at the two fiends floating in midair; both had their hands clap to their ears to stop the ringing. Ah, they resemble quite well with the demon I had disposed of earlier, only minor differences, like their wings. Not paying any attention to the scientist, they focus their attention on the smoke covered cliffside with arms stretched out and palms fully opened, completely alerted, just the way Eraak wanted. ¡°What the fuck was that?!¡± the lower tone demon on the left exclaimed, Eraak assumed he was the leader of the two just by how much larger it was than its partner. ¡°It sounded like a bomb!¡± the raspy voice of the smaller demon on the right said alarmed. Upon hearing this, Eraak¡¯s smile widen. ¡°Ah yes, those idiots are distracted... Now time to divert the others that are approaching this location.¡± He whispered as he forcefully unclenched his stiff fist, flinching from the sting of pain that flowed through his hand. Ignoring the discomfort, he covered his right eye. I¡¯m sorry, but I must take over half of your mind. Only for assisting purposes, of course, you need a lot of it if you¡¯re going to survive just for a bit. Deep within his mind, Eraak had established a connection to his summon, not to take over its body, instead to communicate with it while taking over its vision on its right eye, this will allow Eraak to assist the summoning in its survivability for the onslaught it was going to face. Regaining its composure, the smaller fiend became fully aware of what they had come here for, ¡°Wait we forgot ab- ¡°Before it could turn around to check on the scientist, Eraak quickly uncovered his eye to show it was utterly dark orange. ¡°Too late.¡± He said. In the corner of its eyes, it caught a glimpse of a massive black outline moving in the smoke, halting in place, fear slowly crept its way up. Its partner also noticed the creature as well, the demon panicked and fired rapid fireballs out of their palms, ¡°What the Hell is that!¡± ¡°It looks like a beast from The Wild!¡± Startled, its partner chimed in too. ¡°A better question is how did it travel this far in The Central?! The Abominations should¡¯ve taken care of it!¡± it yelled over the continuous fireballs they shot at a rapid pace. Eraak, on the other hand, was snickering at their attempts, they were only making it worse for themselves. It¡¯s true that he had only seen this creature once, during the time his pink hair friend Celica had presented it as a gift. During the whole ordeal, she had explained the power the beast had possessed was no joke. According to her, the creature was said to be the guardian of its home planet, defending it with its own life from all intruders that dare to take the resources of the planet, while it seeks out other planets to feed. Ravaging those lands like it was a playground, wiping out large islands without any problem. Luckily the monster was unconscious during the process, or else the scientist wouldn¡¯t be standing at this very moment. Although the story sounded convincing, he had to take it with a grain of salt since he had never seen the pink twin tail girl fight in her life, or even heard her mentioned anything about combat. From what he knew, she would stay in her lab practically all day, not stepping foot outside without the fear of being contaminated by germs, a true germaphobe. A germophobic scientist like her taking on a beast that could wipe large islands off the map was a little skeptical. Still, he didn¡¯t have a choice in the matter, to believe rather than not to believe, he had to pick one and Hope to the heavens that everything she spouted out about this beast was the truth. If you find this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the infringement. His mind broke away from concentration, the constant rapid firing of fireballs made it difficult for Eraak to think. Instead, he eyed the demons; their worried faces only fueled his self-confidence in his plan. It was futile really, it was only pissing it off, making it far more dangerous. Of course, Eraak kept it from attacking, he needed to wait until Jon was completely invisible before making a move. The larger of the two demons felt its fear diminishing as rage was starting to build up, gritting its teeth, it yelled, ¡°Why am I not hearing any screams!¡± it stopped its attack. Lowering its arm, its partner followed suit as they observe the creatures outline to be surprised that it didn¡¯t move an inch. It was completely unaffected, not what the demons had hope. Tightly clenching its fist, the fiend was fuming with vexation, ¡°I¡¯ll show you.¡± Red orbs appear in its eyes sockets, its stomach was growing by the second, ¡°I¡¯ll show you!!!¡± Its smaller partner flew further back, not wanting to be in the crossfire of its leader¡¯s attack. ¡°Yeah do it! Show it who¡¯s boss!¡± Out of nowhere, Eraak widen his eyes, his breathing increased when he sensed large groups of energy signatures appeared far from the area, but he knew full well they were planning to arrive in this location in no time. This confirmed Eraaks suspicion, they all felt the strange power created by the human, he grunted as he pinched the bridge of his nose in annoyance. ¡°I¡¯m going to eat something utterly delightful when I arrive back to ease my nerves. Hopefully - ¡°He looked over to the unconscious human, ¡°-this mortal is what I¡¯ve been looking for after eons of failure, or I¡¯m risking everything for nothing.¡± he turned his head back. His brown eyes gaze at the demons, taking notice of their different positions. Needing to squint to get a better view, faintly seeing the chest of the leader puff to the extreme. Its chest expanded until it was at full capacity, the demon opened its mouth wide. In a blink of an eye, bright red flames rushed out in a crazed frenzy, dancing through the air in a blaze before entering the smoke and enveloping the creature. Eraak smirked, shaking his head as he turned back to the human whose head had just disappeared, slowly the human¡¯s body was vanishing. A sign of progress from the Siberian leech. Eraak rubbed his hands together excitedly, the pit of his stomach filled with reassurance as he sighed in relief. ¡°Heh right on time.¡± Backup were arriving faster than he thought, in a hurry, the maniac levitated the nearly half invisible human in the air, hovering above Eraak¡¯s left shoulder. ¡°Just a bit longer.¡± The fiend continued to unleash its scorching hot flames onto its victim, yet no screams of pain rang from the creature. In a furious attempt, the demon signaled its partner to attack, while simultaneously increasing its flames power and size. Its partner complied, raising its palms up and blasted the creature with massive fireballs. The continued assault destroyed the cliffside. The process was complete. The human was finally invisible, Eraak sighed once more before a confident smile took its place. Without any second thought, he sprinted south, just as doing so, he turned his head slightly to examine the destruction from behind. Eraak shook his head from the display; he knew very well that what the demons are doing was a huge mistake, a small chuckle came from his mouth, ¡°Not the brightest of ideas to use against it.¡± He turned his head forward, orange eye now glowing brighter, ¡°Now, now let¡¯s see what this summoning can do!¡± A thunderous, powerful sound abrupted the dancing flames, not coming from the sky but from what lies inside the smoke, unleashing tremendous amounts of power into a single wave that instantly push through the fire,¡± ARAGHHH!!!¡± both demons screamed in terror as the wave completely obliterated them to nothingness. The wave of pure energy traveled upon hundreds of miles in a radius before dissipating. The immense pressure from the summoning, shook the land like an earthquake, causing havoc on the landmass. Eraak had already shielded himself from inevitable destruction, stumbling over his feet from the quake. ¡°Amazing show of power!!! HAha, a magnificent beast, truly something that no one would ever cross paths with!¡± A powerful gust of wind blew the smoke away, what hovered there was a monster of massive proportions, mighty black wings from each side flapped seamlessly in the air. The wings itself was attached to a large muscular, four-legged, black body, along with a lengthy tail stretched across 12 meters. The top of the tail held small spines that increase size as it goes from the tail to the body, shrinking along its slim, 5 meters long tattooed neck. Making the creature 37 meters in length Six horns protrude on top of its head, three horns on each side of its jaw. Terrifying rows of long sharp teeth hung from its mouth. Its sharp dark shade of orange eyes stared at the sky. These were the features that made the ancient mortals worship them as gods, even to this day, all species will bow down to the ancient beast of the new era, the Ancient Orange-Eye Dragon. 8 The humongous beast flew from its position with each flap from its wings generating massive gusts of wind as it drifted further up into the darkening sky, stationing itself 900 meters in the air with ominous black clouds still far above it. The dragon¡¯s keen eyesight overlooked the entire area, the Atazoth, which expanded considerably from its own eyes could see. However, there was a mess of canyons all connected to it and one another like a maze. A range of mountains from different sizes formed along the Atazoth, cutting its path from the rest of the canyon. Presumably the end of the isolation layer. Above the mountain ranges caught the dragon¡¯s attention, it noticed a couple of hundreds of dots flying at breakneck speeds heading to its location. It growled furiously, fumes of smoke left its nostrils in readiness in combat. Now on high alert, its slender neck quickly cast its gaze at both the north and south of its area to see a few hundred more from each direction arriving on the scene. Meanwhile, Eraak continued to sprint while jumping over lava pits, boulders, and any shaky looking ground. The terrain was too rough and not ideal for rushing. His ankles ache from the irregular of the obsidian ground, not used to running this fast and far for this long. Reluctantly, he ignored these factors; the scientist was to fixate on the vision in his right eye. Through the eyes of the dragon, Eraak saw the incoming thousands of tiny dots; all had energy signals he had sense, no doubt to be only tier 2s. In every case, tier 1s are never born with wings, which crosses them out of the equation, and Eraak knew full well there aren¡¯t any tier 3s in The Central, the suspected tier was obvious. A sigh of relief escaped his lips, his muscles, although tense, were less than before. ¡°Good, if it were a powerful form of an abomination I would¡¯ve had to change my plan.¡± Nonetheless, he felt his blood boiled from the low numbers; it was far less than he initially anticipated, leading him to presume they were underestimating his summoning and in conjunction... himself. This way of thinking consumed the mad doctor. A bitter smile crept in, snickering, hiding the complete anger wielded inside his chest. The rage he kept bottled up from decades to centuries against the demon race were dispersing out of control in his mind. He wanted to see them all die. No mercy, just death. The most intense and gruesome death at the hands of his summoning and himself. But that urge was suppressed when a voice entered his mind, ¡°Remember your goal.¡± he recognized it as his voice from an earlier age of his life. Quick flashes of images in his head reminded himself of his goals and dreams. Stopping his sprint for a second to regain his thoughts, gasping for air as sweat poured down his tired face. His mind now cleared from his disdain for the demon race, a bit reluctant he proceeded forward. ¡°I need to control my hatred¡ I should be grateful for their incompetence will only increase our odds.¡± Delving deep into his mind, he established a connection with his summoning, ¡°Kill them all quickly and efficiently. Use your great power to attract everything towards yourself, far away from me as possible.¡± Following its orders, the summoned Dragon lay its eyes on a single moderate size mountain surrounded by small canyons overflowing with lava. An idea came to mind as it focuses on gathering its energy before releasing it with another ear-splitting roar. The sheer pressure of power created a massive magnitude earthquake, felt from all directions miles away. The winds themselves rushed and blew most of the infantry away, successfully giving them massive concussions, the sheer power busted their heads like balloons resulting in hundreds of deaths. The North and south infantry suffered the most casualties, while the west managed to stay put for the most part. To brace himself, Eraak conjured an invisible magical shield placed around him and the human from incoming debris falling on top of them. The mad scientist had anticipated the earthquake beforehand. In a short timeframe, it gathered more of its energy before releasing it with more roars that echoed throughout the region, adding onto the already establish pressure to the earthquake. A smile of satisfaction plastered on his face, goosebumps formed just from the sight of the demons suffering for a short period was all it took to bring joy back. ¡°Marvelous! Yess! Kill them all!¡± He regretted yelling out loud as his throat constricted from the outburst, feeling dry as the air itself. His legs were sore from the constant running, heavy panting accompanies by the intense burning of the skin, while sweat accumulated from his body. The overexcited scientist knew his body was within its boundaries. Worse enough, he felt a minor headache coming into play, the vision spell along with the excessive running accompany by the earthquake intensifying in magnitude was the most likely cause of this. ¡°I can feel the effects worsening. I have to hurry.¡± His eye darted left and right to see the canyon walls weren¡¯t caving in as he expected, they were still miles upon miles apart, even running at 30 mph was still far too slow. ¡°And by the looks of it the Wall of AbigorIs still far from my sight, and my stamina is draining fast. Tsk at this rate ill collapse from sheer exhaustion-¡± His inner thoughts shattered when a humongous sound burst his eardrums leading him to fall on the obsidian ground on his stomach, having only a few seconds to cast a magical shielding around his ears by covering them with his hands. He clenched his eyes and grunted from his headache intensifying. The metallic smell of blood drip down his ear canal as he lets go. He screamed on top of his lungs as he pushed his muscles to their absolute limits to stand up which he succeeded. ¡°I¡ figure¡ as much...¡± He said, panting while looking through the eyes of the dragon to see the mountain it had stared at was a stratovolcano awakened from its slumber The explosion incinerated hundreds of demons near the mountain ranges, canyons of filled lava flew high in the sky burning everything to a crisp with volcanic rocks plummeting into the demon forces. Plumes of heavy smoke drifted into the cloudy sky mixing well with the cries of anguish that filled the air, ironically blending well with the environment. Eraak was at loss of words. He could barely fathom it; the entire west side was eliminated by a simple, yet mighty roar caused by his summoning. ¡°Incredible display of power and strategic mind... This beauty of a beast saw a mountain with nearby canyons filled with lava, quickly piecing together the clues, it knew the mountain was, in fact, an inactive volcano. With that information at hand, it gathered its life energy and released it upon the isolation layer as a powerful roar, alerting everything to its area while creating an earthquake. Not stopping for a single second, it added more life energy into each roar until the magnitude of the earthquake was strong enough to awaken the volcano, killing everything in its path. The strategy in itself is simple, yes, but it worked, the evidence is in my sight.¡± Lost in admiration, the sounds of a stopwatch beep in his head, immediately alerting him to the current time. 10 minutes. The realization hit him like a bag of bricks. Try as he might, the mad doctor couldn¡¯t lift his legs, his body felt like collapsing due to exhaustion. Sharp needles pierced his mind or rather two fists pressing on to each side of his head in the form of a migraine. Stifling a cough, he reached into the pocket of his coat in search of an item. ¡°No time to waste¡¡± Above the air, the dragon prepared itself to dive into the remaining survivors. Anger by their fallen comrades they push onward with as little as 20, firing their massive fireballs in unison in hopes to hit their target. Unfortunately for these fiends, the beast flew towards them, tanking the fireballs like it was child¡¯s play. With its massive jaws it maw the first demon and brutally massacring the rest with its enormous body acting as a blunt weapon. The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement. They stood no chance against the summoning, in fact, a few called it quits and flee from the scene as fast as possible hearing the cries of their comrades diminish. But before the dragon could brutally assault the cowards, its head glanced to the stormy sky to see it swirled into a funnel. Seeing it in its vision as well, Eraak quickly stop and stared at the storm clouds forming. ¡°The abominations have... finally arrive¡tsk, a bit late I must say.¡± He said as blood slowly trickled down from his right eye. Crackles of thunder abrupted as lightning began striking furiously at the dragon, who with fast reflexes dodge all incoming strikes. Weaving and dodging in midair. ¡°That funnel in the forever storm is an abomination; it¡¯ll try to reduce your stamina until back up arrives.¡± On cue, a single black winged creature, 20 feet in length materialized from the funnel thunderstorm. The abominable creature had no eyes nor any other facial features; instead, large sacs of yellow bubbles rest on its head and face reaching under its jaws, full of sharpened razor teeth with thick yellow goo dripping down. Dodging the last lightning strike, the orange eye dragon glance at the foul creature and roared, issuing a challenge. Eraak tightened his fist and gritted his teeth at the sight of the abominations, ¡°Of course they¡¯ll appear first.¡± ¡°Listen here dragon, do be careful around those abominations, do not let them take a bite out of you. The yellow goo around their mouths is a type of venom design to paralyze any living thing. More than a few bites would be able to put you down!¡± Annoyed by the change of events he opened his coat pocket outward, a white beam shot towards the ground, not damaging the ground instead an object materialized out of thin air. What lay there was a metal object coated in all white paint, held a slight curvature design and large enough to be fit around a thigh, in the middle was a wide small cylinder encased by see-through glass containing green liquid. Two small black rods on one side of the cylinder each tried to zap the green fluid every second, but the glass casing only deflected the concentrated electrical power. ¡°They¡¯re looking to try to get you on the ground, so be wearily about your wings, they¡¯ll go for it first.¡± ¡°I do not doubt that it understood me.¡± Rightfully so, the dragon showed signs of intelligence before, placing his trust on it wasn¡¯t a bad idea. Eraak levitated the metal object and put it around his right thigh, securing it. Upon placing the device, a beep sounded on activation. A pinprick needle softly pierced his skin tissue, injecting the green fluid out of the container at a steady pace. As it coursed into his bloodstream, the concentrated electricity followed the liquid throughout his body. The intense heat of electricity zapped every inch of his body, feeling his organs were going to melt, he stifled a scream, grunting as he gripped his head as the green fluid flowed through his brain adding fuel to a burning migraine. Not long after the injection, the pain faded in obscurity, lessening his tense grip on his head. The electricity no longer affected him, the process of the green fluid was finish as it now absorbed the electrical power continually leading to high stimulation to his muscles. His exhaustion was gone replaced by pure bliss and power flowing inside of him. ¡°Hehaaah yes that¡¯s the good stuff.¡± A smirk plastered on his face as he straightened his legs to get a better feel, ¡°This device now allows me to-¡° with a single push of his legs, Eraak sped across the land at the top fastest speed he could go. Accelerating faster than his previous speeds by a mile and in the process breaking the sound barrier, ¡°-run faster than the speed of sound!¡± he said as he continued to run near the cliff walls to hide in plain sight. Near the funnel cloud the grotesque creature screech, accepting the challenge as it dived downwards towards the dragon, as it did, hundreds of more materialize from the storm clouds in full unison, screeching along and followed suit. The summoned dragon roared a magnificent roar before breathing burning orange color flames at the incoming hostiles. The bright flames danced across the blackened sky, coexisting with each other like night and day, massively wide enough to engulf 23 abominations into a crisp and injuring a few dozen more in the attack, all screeching in pain as they fell towards their death. Unfortunately, the rest dodged the attack and continued traveling downward, halting its fire breathe, the dragon resume flying in the direction of the volcano, far west side from the hive of creatures. The abominations weren¡¯t having it as they followed suit from behind hungry for death, but they were still tad bit slow compared to the beast. In an attempt to slow down the dragon, the funnel storm returned its lightning bolt strike against it, hitting its back and wings multiple times, roaring in agony the dragon dodged the attacks a bit more difficult than before. Using its slower velocity as an advantage a few abominations went ahead after its wings, chewing on it with murderous intent yet they couldn¡¯t get past the thick skin without difficulty. Instincts kicking in, the Orange-Eye dragon swung its massive tail against each abomination resulting in an offensive explosion of guts and yellow goo, splattering it onto its hide. Growling, it turned its body in a quick 180 to launch a giant ball of pure orange flames into the crowd. The flame ball exploded in a wide radius upon impacting the first creature, killing it and 29 others. 35 now left in the battle, however before it could act again the funnel itself swallowed the dragon entirely. It tried to fly through the storm clouds resulting a cry of pain from the electrifying shocks. In a shallow attempt, it fired its flames at the clouds to no avail. Sounds of the screeching creatures were steadily approaching the funnel storm. ¡°Damn it!¡± Eraak lifted his left palm and directed it towards the direction of the funnel. ¡°Summoning it back to the dimension isn¡¯t an option, it¡¯ll be too suspicious for it to disappear from thin air suddenly¡ and on top of that, I won¡¯t be able to escape without it distracting the forces near the wall.¡± He said, gritting his teeth. Focusing his magical power around the dragon, conjuring a thin layer of shielding surrounding its hide. ¡°The only thing I can do is shield it and prolong its existence until I¡¯m out of this realm¡ a shame, I was beginning to enjoy this summoning, but I guess its fate has been set to be my sacrifice. Fierce lightning struck every inch of its body, the shield around it protected it as the summoning desperately dodged a few, the flying abominations arrived and flew through the clouds one by one biting into the shielded skin to no effect. The dragon used everything in its arsenal, it breathed fire and swung its tail around to keep the creatures at bay. Killing a few only spawn more. The continuous attacks dwindle Eraak¡¯s mana, he was losing momentum fast, and the effects of the green fluid were fading due to low power in the device and as it did the blissful effects from the liquid was disappearing, replacing it with pain and exhaustion from before. A sigh of relief left his mouth when he noticed the walls were finally caving into a dead end. Having an urge to cough, he brought his right palm to his mouth to cough blood on his hand. His lungs increased its respiratory breathing; he could feel his body fatigue arriving sooner than expected. Getting closer to the walls, he ran fast and used his last bit of strength into his leg muscles to propel himself high in the air and grab hold onto rocks with his free hand, climbing until suddenly halting at the ledge. Eraak sensed thousands of demonic energy signals from the direction of the wall. ¡°Marvelous, they finally showed up! Leaving this area would be suicide. The energies I¡¯m sensing are from skilled tier 2s alphas, not the sort of demons I want to face.¡± Eraak yelled deep in his mind instead of yelling outward, which would¡¯ve alerted the demons to his area. Gritting his teeth before coughing more blood, the electricity around his body was lessening, indicating the device was running out of power. Another problem arises when multiple beeps signal the stopwatch inside his head alerted him it was 5 minutes until the leech was full. ¡°Damn it, how rather bothersome the situation has gotten, I have to stay in this position until they leave¡± He whispered, pain and soreness in his voice, even his outstretched arm was begging to tire out from being in the air for so long. Feeling his mana reserves depleting at this rate was exhausting on his already tiresome body. On the other hand, his ears captured the beating of wings, glancing up he could see thousands of demons, wearing full body armor flying at rapid speeds towards the funnel. The mad doctor sighed a small relief, but his face contorted to a look pain, he could feel his grip on the shield around the dragon slipping by every damage it taken. Eraak pulled himself over the edge and continued to run; his legs ached at each step he took, blood trickled down his mouth and eye. His vision blur as his left eye stared up at the farthest depth of the sky and saw the gigantic black wall. He could taste the ominous air surrounding it, beyond this wall was his final goal. It was beautiful yet a terrifying sight to see, different than what his secondary vision displayed. Seeing through its right eye, he saw the dragon was slowing down from each attempted dodge, the small abominations biting on its back and arms, struggling to fight back as even its stamina was depleting. A pain of guilt struck Eraak¡¯s heart, he sympathized with the dragon, for better or worst. But he knew he couldn¡¯t keep the shield going, his mana reserves are an all-time low if he doesn¡¯t let it go then there¡¯s no way his body would be able to lift the human without falling unconscious. ¡°I¡¯m very sorry, but I cannot hold the shield up any longer. You have my thanks and gratitude for your help you beautiful beast.¡± And like that¡ he closed his fist¡ and undid the shield. 9 The scientist hesitated for a second after his decision, his arm lingered in the air before he shook his head and lowered it. The guilt builds up in his stomach as he continued onward to his short-term goal. An angry growl left his lips at the swarms of abominations. With no shield no longer protecting the beast, they all rushed in to attack the defenseless dragon. The thunderstorm halted its onslaught of lightning to let the smaller abominations finish the job by eating away into the exposed wing flesh. The inventor couldn¡¯t help but clenched his jaw upon hearing the faint cry from his summoning in the background. ¡°Those vile creatures succeeded¡ Their venom will paralyze his wings first leaving him to fall to his death...¡± On cue, the great beast could hardly feel its wings after each continuous flap. Pure rage consumed the dragon as it began to thrash around, spewing flames every inch to burn everything alive into a crisp. The scientist diverted his attention back on himself after coughing more blood. He looked down to eye the electricity around him was slowly dwindling to nothing more than little sparks. From the previous records of using it, he knew he''d only have a minute before the green liquid itself travel back into the small container. At this point, Eraak was forcing himself beyond his limit. The longer he ran, the more his body tore itself apart, outside and inside, not generally a good idea for a person like himself. He¡¯s a scientist, conducting experiments and reading magical and scientific tomes is his forte, anything physical was a no go. Not to mention experiencing this physical pain torture was not something he was accustom too. The mad scientist shook his head and concentrated on the matters beforehand, his chest rose and fell with rapid breaths as his speed was gradually declining. The electrical sparks finally dissipate into nothingness which affected his movement to a higher degree. Now gone, the pain from before the electric power, came back at full force, even more, intense than before. The mad doctor clenched his jaw at a headache being more prominent, blood dripping from his nose mixed with the sweat accumulating from his body. The only thing left keeping his speed intact was the green liquid. ¡°Sixty seconds is plenty.¡± He said as he grinned at the sight of the massive black wall coming into view miles away. ¡°With this much energy, I''ll be able to make it no time.¡±Beyond the wall was his finishing end to this significant goal, his dreams will become a reality. Unfortunately, the grin on his face faded, his eyes widen at the realization of his movement was slowing down faster than he anticipated. ¡°No, NO, NO!!¡± Eraak yelled angrily at his inferior luck bestowed upon him. He yelled at himself mentally at the lack of experimentation of the new device, if only he had more time to continue his tests. With no more power, the massive fatigue slowly devoured his body, resetting his immense speed back to his previous standard max. Decreasing even more as time goes by. The scientist could feel his headache overpowering his mindset as he began to waver to the side. ¡°Just a mile left¡¡± he whispered. As it wasn¡¯t bad enough, the annoying stopwatch in his head alerted him two minutes before the invisibility wore off. The constant beeping inside his torn mind was slowly driving him into a state of madness. His jaw tightened as he scratches his head to force the annoying sound to disappear. So much was going wrong for the scientist as terrible thoughts enter his head, ¡°Was this a terrible ideal?! YES¡no¡ I DON¡¯T KNOW! I shouldn¡¯t have had to risk my entire existence as well as my family for this SINNER! No... he will be the one... CMON! THINK! YOU¡¯RE ERAAK! THE INVENTOR, THE SCIENTIST! THERE HAS TO BE SOMETHING I CAN DO!¡± These thoughts were tempering his speed as it steadily declined. His mind was going haywire, breathing more than necessary which was draining his stamina. But it seemed like it wasn¡¯t going to stop anytime soon. Until suddenly, he overheard a loud roar in the distant sky, bringing his mind back to focus for his summoning¡¯s safety. In the small battle, the dragons fatigue was showing as its basic attacks were missing its targets, not to mention the paralyzing venom was taking full effect on its wings, leaving the dragon to fall fast in a downward spiral into the thunderous clouds. Eraak was boiling with anger from the loud cries off in the distance. Darkness and the occasional flashes of blue were all he saw in its vision. Ignoring his own pain, he shook his head from the constant doubts plaguing his mind and ran faster. ¡°Your sacrifice shall not be in vain ole great one! Ill survive and create the strongest being to avenge you comrade!¡± Spiraling downwards, the dragon shot out from the bottom of the clouds at high speeds and crashed into the ground, causing a huge impact crater in the area. The Dragon¡¯s eyes slowly closed, leaving Eraak¡¯s right vision to see nothing but black. A small tinge of hope lingered in his thoughts as he kept the vision spell going. With his summoning down, another problem arises as the remaining fluid in his body had gone back to refill the tube, now his body was back to square one, only barely able to jog at 20 mph. The scientist shook his head violently, frustration was taking over from the terrible circumstance. A new plan must be created and fast. At half a mile away from the wall, he could see a silhouette of a tier 2 demon guarding the premise. Two white mechanical bots that looked like human¡¯s skulls with blue eyes and antennas sticking out from the ears hovered by each shoulder of said demon. A smile crept up to his face as an ideal plan was slowly forming in his head, piece by piece. To his knowledge, only one sensory demon stayed back at the wall to guard and relay messages to a higher command using their telepathy as the source. Since hell is a massive area, the demon uses the bots as a two-way communication center. The bots enhance their telepathy to a much higher degree, ready to relay any urgent messages from any demon exiting the wall and are in dire need to speak to the higher command. Sure, they had radio communications, but that technology was insufficient thanks to Eraak. The tech didn''t have long-range capabilities as opposed to the bots. The later also had other uses such as a high-tech radar and weaponry built to them. A smirk appeared, ¡°This could work in my favor.¡±You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story. Approaching closer to the demon, Eraak¡¯s right vision revealed another part of the land. His eyes gleam and immediately commanded in his mind, ¡°Yesss! Attaboy! I knew your magnificent body would hold up! Now dragon, defend yourself, for the time being, don¡¯t worry I''ll find a way to get you out of there without them noticing.¡± The humongous beast growled in understanding, using its powerful muscles it stood back up on its four legs and roared loudly towards the sky to let every creature in the vicinity know about its survival. Its slender neck turned towards to the west, its sharp eyes saw thousands of demons with red armor flying towards its location, but without weapons. Again, they were underestimating the power of Eraak¡¯s orange eye dragon, something they¡¯ll have to pay for with their lives. ¡°KILL THE BEAST!¡± the horde roar proudly as they began to channel their demon magic and fired large red orbs at its location. Not in the position of dodging the incoming projectiles, the dragon took most of the damage head-on. The demonic magic did sting a bit, enraging the beast as it retaliated by firing a large star shape flame at the horde, incinerating several demons before exploding and taking a chunk of the army. Both forces continued to attack one another, with the demon army losing more of their soldiers. The funnel storm reappeared and struck every inch of the obsidian ground near the dragon with ferocious bolts of lightning. Fortunately for the beast, it had regained a margin of its stamina back to dodge the incoming strikes. It focused more on avoiding the attacks from the storm, rather than the horde of pathetic demons. Suddenly after jumping away from a lightning bolt destroying the ground beneath it, a giant arm popped from the ground aiming for its neck. With quick reflexes, the beast dodged the incoming hand. Again, the dragon jumped further back out of arms reach and blocked an incoming lightning bolt with a small blast of its own. The arm pulled itself from the ground, revealing another type of abomination. The title abomination was an accurate description of this species. A real sight of horror. There standing at its full height was a grey muscular humanoid creature with no eyes present on its face. Instead, gross veins harbor its eyeless face, however, the repulsive creature did have an eye, but its located on its chest. A large vertical eye, stare at it for too long and you will see the full horrors of hell unleashed upon your mind. Below the eye was something quite unusual. A pair of humongous lips stretching across its waist, showing no signs of movement. The bipedal creature used its powerful arms to grab onto the upper lip and lifted it to reveal a hidden mouth with rows of large teeth and no tongue, almost the size of its entire waist. All sudden an inhuman sound escaped its mouth. The surviving numbers of demons arriving on the scene immediately fled back from the terrible sounds coming from the abomination. ¡°IT''S HERE! GO BACK NOW AND INFORM THE GENERAL!¡± The sound was anything like the dragon ever heard of. It was like centuries of pain and screaming from the mortals in hell trap and caged inside the monster¡¯s body until now unleashed upon the area. After several seconds It stopped. The ground began to shake. Around the abomination, the dragon saw other arms akin to the bipedal monster, emerging from the field, attempting to pull their selves out in the exact fashion. Eraak spoke towards his summoning, ¡°Dragon I know you¡¯re exhausted as I am, trust me. After all of this, I¡¯m buying you a sweet juicy fish or steak or even broccoli whatever you choose! But first, I need you out of that area ASAP! Or you¡¯re good as dead. The mad doctor paid attention back to his regular sight. The magnificent wall was now prominent in his view which excited him. The fatigue plaguing his body nearly vanish, replacing it with a new-found surge of power which quickly overwhelmed his pain-filled body. An Unsettling grin appeared on his face as he miraculously sprinted towards the sensory demon, who still hadn¡¯t acknowledged the mad scientist¡¯s presence thanks to his magic blocking its senses. ¡°Heh, don¡¯t mind me, I have a small plan that will correlate with another. Use your dragon skills to find the nearest volcano and head there.¡± Complying to its master¡¯s orders, the great beast turned behind him, away from the swarm of abominations gathering and bolted towards the nearest volcano, which on average was 10 miles away. Unfortunately, the abominations follow suit, not too far off from the dragon¡¯s path. Like last time, the funnel clouds form again to slow the beast down. The poor dragon cried from each successful hit. Fortunately, instead of faltering and slowing down, this brutality only pushed the dragon to its absolute limits. Nearing the base of the volcano, a huge hand sprung from the ground and caught the end of its tail, with such strength it managed to stop the dragon in mid-run. The beast decided to breathe fumes of flames at the opposing hand. Seeing as the burning option wasn¡¯t working. It stopped its onslaught of flames and instead went in to bite the bothersome arm. Success was assured, the dragon free itself from its grasp, after tearing the arm into two but doing so, led a massive barrage of lightning to fire down onto its already stricken back. The beast roared in antagonizing pain. The strikes of pure power destroyed the ground and inflicted far too much damage on the dragon, causing its confidence to dwindle as it now lowered itself to the ground. Seeing the dragon in such a weakened state fueled the bloodlust from the horde of abominations as they ran faster to claim the body. A whimper came out of the dragon as it lowered its head and closed its eyes to await its death. On the brink of hope, a confident familiar voice entered his mind, in a commanding tone its master yelled. ¡°The great beast, known as the Orange Eye dragon! Stand! And show these insignificant fools your true power! Do not give yourself into death¡¯s hands! Its master''s willingness to not give up gave the great dragon a sense of the courage it needed. Believing in its master¡¯s words, its bright orange eyes awakened. Power overflow as it stood back at its full height to glare at the mob of abominations approaching, all eager to tear the dragon apart. Immense power radiated from the beast before letting out a magnificent roar towards the hellish skies. Letting all creatures know that it was not going down without a fight. The mighty dragon steadies itself to prepare an all-out finishing move, as it gathered every ounce of power it held. An abrupt end to its roar as its chest puff outward. The abominations ignored the overwhelming power building up in the dragon and pressed on forward. Yet the funnel storm acknowledged the massive power building and took no chance but to shoot a humongous electrical beam at the dragon to finish it off. In a split second, before the attack could finish it off, the orange eyes glowed brightly and released a gargantuan orange beam of pure unimaginable power composed entirely of heat. The beams wave immediately dissipated the electrical beam and caused the volcano from behind to erupt. The abominations dissolve into nothingness after being swallowed by the massive attack, destroying the obsidian ground reaching miles away before impacting a mountain. The aftermath explosion left no trace of a mountain ever standing in the area. The great beast could feel itself slipping into an unconscious state before his master¡¯s voice enter his mind once again. ¡°Dragon hurry and enter the volcano! I¡¯m aware you¡¯re immune to the volcanoes heat, entering it would conceal you and in return helps me secretly summon you back without a hitch.¡± The dragon nodded as it fought the tiredness unraveling on its body. It traveled towards the top of the volcano and forced itself into the molten lava with no hesitation. Inside the mountain, the great beast known as the orange eye dragon closed its eyes for slumber as it vanished inside the lava. The reverse summoning undid Eraak¡¯s orange eye color back to his original brown. A sting of pain from the eye caused him to close it as blood trickle down. A sigh of relief escaped his lips. ¡°What a magnificent beast. I didn¡¯t expect it to do this well and even live as long as it did. HAHah It seems like I owe you something big in return for giving me a great present, Celica hahah.¡± Stopping his laugh, the scientist looked around the area of a familiar yet unknown scenery before him. He stared back at the fully visible human he had risked his life for. ¡°But first I have to get this troublesome mortal back to my lab.¡± His eye twitches from a single massive power source he sensed from afar. ¡°Before he arrives.¡± Chapter 3: Exidus Experiment Eraak shifted his gaze back at the beautiful scenery of the land known as The Dominion. A place where the military might of the demon race resided in along with the accursed place he has the misfortune of calling it his ¡°home.¡± His jaw clenched at the mere thought of mentioning it as such. Just referring to it as his accommodation felt like someone punching his liver while it was on fire. Eraak corrected his mindset, but it was difficult to do so as he stood on top of a massive cliff overviewing the vegetation of the land. A stark contrast compared to the area he and the mortal previously left. Instead of green vegetation, only black-reddish plants harbor the land with alien-like features. Millions of exotic trees scatter through this small portion of the region and beyond, all different sizes with very noticeable critters living in them. Far back Eraak could see the mountains ranges, which were ever so present in the region. It was great they weren¡¯t active volcanoes like that of The Central. But what he hated the most was no matter how many times the scientist stopped to look at the marvelous beauty of the land, a sense of wonderment overcomes him. However, this sheer beauty only drove him to complete rage the longer he stared at the region. The memories he harbored in his head came back in full force. The countless times of enjoyment during his camping trips with friends and family, gawking and experiencing the majestic beauty of the wilderness returned. A reminder of a more significant time of his life, now ruined by the hellish forest only serving to torment him for pleasure. The bottomless pit of rage-fueled his empty heart, realizing he can never go back to his previous life anymore. The mad doctor shook his head from his terrible thoughts. No, it¡¯s true the doctor cannot change the past, but he still has a chance of altering the future. The mortal he had captured shall be his final experiment, the last grand experiment which will change the fate of the universe forever. A small smirk was planted on his face, but it didn¡¯t last long as the massive familiar energy level felt before was approaching fast as Eraak had anticipated. ¡°You and your moronic army aren¡¯t going to stop me from achieving my goal.¡± He sprinted north as fast as he could but considering his last travel diminished his stamina reserves, and left his body weakened only made things much harder for himself to keep up the pace. ¡°So, it is him¡ I recognize it all too well¡¡± he harshly whispered through his gritted teeth. ¡°I must hurry. Let¡¯s see if this distance is good enough,¡± Eraak reached through his coat pocket and brought an obsidian coated compass with red triangular markings etch on the back. He pressed down on the top tip of the compass and channel a bit of his magic into it, lighting up the red markings on the back. Finishing the process, the exhausted doctor spat out large quantities of blood on to the compass¡¯s glass. His lungs tightened itself causing Eraak to abruptly stop in mid-sprint as the compass fell from his grasp. He grabbed his chest from the unbearable pain. His legs also couldn¡¯t handle the pressure any longer and gave up as he landed on all fours and began his uncontrollable coughing. Blood dripped from his mouth onto the floor, forming a puddle of red liquid. Only inches away was the compass. The object slowly beeped each second, trying to establish a connection to the nearby signal he planted at the destination. Eraak was growing anxious, the obnoxious beeping rang inside his head, getting louder at each time it beeped. He scratches the ground like a maniac as the massive energy source he so feared was approaching rapidly, dwarfing the smaller energy levels around it. And to be quite honest the low energy levels were no slouch either, not tier 2s in the slightest to both his dismay and satisfaction. They¡¯ve finally registered the whole ordeal as something severe enough to send their best demons.Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings. The doctor¡¯s eyes were firmly planted on the compass until in the corner of his vision, Eraak saw something unusual happened to the sky. Slowly moving his head to face the sky his eyes widen to the size of dinner plates to see the blackened sky turning into a demonic red hue bursting with negative power. Facing back at the compass he tried to yell, but his voice was too dry to make any louder than a raspy whisper ¡°Please find a signal! Find it now!¡± The winds around him became harsher, the animals roared in unison, red lightning storms appear and struck the ground in absolute rage. Far worse than the funnel storms fury in The Central, as if the whole area was getting enraged In just in time, the compass beeped rapidly as it successfully found a good signal. The scientist grabbed the compass in time before it blew away and levitated the human towards arms reach. Placing his hand on to the mortal¡¯s arm, he pressed down on the tip and in a flash of light both the demon scientist and sinner vanished from the spot. A mysterious flash of white light appeared before dying down, exposing the hindered scientist and still unconscious mortal floating by his side. Eraak stood back up awkwardly and observe his surroundings, confirming the teleportation was a success A giant sigh of relief escaped his lips while wiping the sweat he accumulated from his face. Slowly but surely his famous grin reappeared when he saw a one-story house with a window appear in his vision, made entirely of obsidian rock, finely crafted which made the obsidian texture quite exotic to look at. ¡°The hate I have for this place is as deep as my coat pockets. Heheh but I can¡¯t help to feel the immense excitement bubbling up inside my weak old body when I stare at it!¡± The scientist said in a raspy tone. Not waiting any longer, Eraak limped his way and entered the house from the only entrance. Now inside his so-called ¡°home,¡± the weakened scientist hobble forward inside the empty house. Ignoring the very few appliances and furniture he had such as the couch in the middle, the refrigerator in the back right and the microwave on the countertop. There were no other rooms other than the living room and the small kitchen. Not wasting any more valuable time he paced himself towards the microwaved and pressed a series of numbers at a rapid pace. The microwave beeped three times, and after three seconds it ended, the sounds of mechanical machinery in front of the couch revealed a hidden door. Exposing a small hidden stairway. A smile briefly showed on his face before a nasty cough took over him, reminding the mad scientist of the dangerous endeavor he was put through for this moment. Ignoring the pain of his wellbeing, Eraak limped his way with the human in tow down the small set of stairs to find a pure white elevator. Entering it, he settled the sinner on the wall as he pressed a few keys on the side for the elevator to power it on. The lights brighten inside, indicating it was functional. Eraak slid his finger and click the only floor button, read ¡°Floor -0¡±. Upon pressing the button, the elevator made a low humming sound as it understood the command and immediately moved far below. A minute pass. Inside the moving elevator, the human awoke from his deep slumber, he slightly opened his eyes, but it was far too blurry for him to process his surroundings. The mortal struggled to move any of his limbs as if they were paralyzed. However, the blurriness softened and his vision less cloudy allowed him to focus what seems to be a human? In front of him. The mortal was genuinely surprised, to say the least. He couldn''t tell if he was dreaming or not. This is the first in decades he had seen another of his species. It couldn''t possibly be a demon, nothing like the ones he encountered before if that''s the case. The human opened his mouth to questioned the strange man, but the words never came out. His voice was weak and low, only producing faint grunting noises. The sinner tried everything in his willpower to move his body or at least say one word to get the strange man''s attention, but it was only futile. He felt like a puppet thrown away inside a closet unable to escape. Alone and helpless. If only he were stronger... If only there were such a thing of attaining unimaginable power, then he wouldn''t be in this situation. Why couldn''t he be useful for once!? The injured mortal wanted to scream towards the heavens but his brain was shutting back down, his mind was slipping away presumably back to an unconscious state. Yet, as the darkness was consuming him, the strange man still not facing him acknowledged his existence and spoked in a whispered tone, he caught a hint of sadness evident in his voice. ¡°A monster among monsters¡ That is what you¡¯re going to be soon my fellow sinner¡ my fellow species... Of once before...¡± Jonathan Reid couldn¡¯t hold it for much longer as his mind fell back to a deep slumber. His sad existence was going to be changed in a matter of time¡ Not only himself but the universe and the lives of others... For better or for worse... A monster will be created in this feeble world. 11 "He-hello! My name is Kayla Picaro! I''m twelve years old, and umm¡ I''ll be your new classmate for the year!" Shyly standing in front of the class was a small petite girl. She had shoulder length wavy buttery blonde hair which was a sight to behold. Her attire was basic, wearing a white chiffon popover dress exposing a tiny bit belly skin. Her dress had a black stripe around the bottom end circling it and two horizontal black lines on each top shoulder strap. Just as if she wasn''t cute enough her dress had a big red bow attached on top of the chest. She wore a soft colored black skirt and black slippers which complimented the rest of her wear in a simple color palette of black and white. Kayla was never comfortable with the idea of standing in front of people, especially new people. More so embarrassed about her stuttering nature and making a fool out of herself during public. During these instances, she tried her best to be brave like her mother had told her many years ago. Even as she tried her best she couldn''t help but falter, the petite girl was stiff as a rock, palms were sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy and her mouth, dry as a tundra after her introduction. The round of applause didn''t make it any better. The shy girl tried her best to look at each classmate to get a better idea who they were, but she adverted her light brown eyes from each time she made eye contact. Nevertheless, her coffee-colored eyes caught a small glimpse of a particular boy sitting in the far-right corner alone. The desk he preoccupied looked awfully damage, but she couldn''t see much detail in the front of the class. From where she stood, he had messy black hair and wore nothing but black. Shirt, jeans, all were black except his shoes which were deep green. What was quite unusual was the four empty desks surrounding him like some sort of makeshift barrier to keep him contained in the corner. What was even more unusual was the lack of students in the class,12 to be exact. Plenty of empty desks, fifteen to be precise counting the four blocking the boy, This broke the notion of the classroom being more massive than she initially thought. The rest of the students all sat the far left from the boy as if they were avoiding the plague. Kayla was perplexed by this. Was he doing this on purpose or is the class isolating him for a reason, and to a certain extent the school? Her curious nature was slowly overpowering her mind, and her caring nature was also beaming inside of her. Kayla noticed unlike the rest of the students who were conversing loudly after her intro; the boy had his head down. Not entirely sure if he was sleeping or not. The voice of her teacher Ms. Jazz broke her thoughts, "Kayla, do you have any questions for me about this class before we get started?" The petite girl glanced at her brown hair teacher and back at the boy, not sure if she should ask this, but she didn''t think there was any harm asking it, "Why is he sitting all by himself?" Muttering those words caused the class to go silent from their loud conversation, now all eyes were on her again, but this felt much different than before. Ms. Jazz herself was a little stun, but she laid her hand firmly on Kayla''s shoulder looking deep into her eyes. "Please ignore him at all cost." She wrinkled her nose, "I''m sorry to say the only desks are by¡ his side, so I advise you to sit in the front." She sternly said, motioning to the empty tables furthest from the back with her hands. Kayla raised her eyebrows and frowned at the reaction coming from everybody in the class, especially from her teacher, her tone alone made it even more terrible. She was hoping it wasn''t a case of bullying; doubts were entering her mind though. Just why are they isolating this single kid? It didn''t make any sense to her; the teacher of all people should help the bullying stop not join in on it. A sigh escaped from the small girl lips as she focused her gaze at the front desks. Maybe she should just leave this one alone. For all, it''s worth it would be best for her not to get involved with this and risk getting tormented on too. Despite not wanting to deal with this circumstance, her eyes continued swaying back to the one next to the "sleeping" boy. Upon several glances something was drawing her in, seeing someone else suffer isolationism as she had experienced before, was disheartening. The feeling of loneliness must be killing him, she knew he needed someone to talk to, and if no one else is going to do it, then she will. Kayla furrowed her brow, contemplating it for a few moments before deciding. "I-I wouldn''t mind sitting by him." She said, her teacher now wide-eyed along with everyone else in the class from this surprising response. "I forbid you from sitting near that evil monster! This is for your safety." Kayla wince from the extra grip enforce on her shoulder, she pulled away from it immediately. "R-really I-its fine! I can handle it myself." She stuttered, obviously taken back from the sudden attitude change from her teacher. She turned and hurried to their destination until a hand sprung up and grabbed her arm forcefully. A brown hair boy whispered harshly as did the rest of the class. "What are you doing! Are you nuts!" "Don''t sit by him he''s evil!" "Complete bonkers he''ll make you leave the school!" A whole onslaught of hateful and fearful comments was directed to her way, faces full despair and terror, pleading to her to stop like she''s going on a suicide mission. Why are they all so afraid of this single kid? Judging from their reactions, this alone boy had done something quite heinous to warrant such a response, even to the point of not uttering his name like it''s some curse, just how bad was his reputation? So many questions unanswered She was starting to have second thoughts about this, and maybe follow her fellow peers'' input on the situation and sit elsewhere. But she couldn''t. Leaving him to suffer the torture of solitude is not what she ever wanted to do. Her heart clench from the dark times in her life when she was alone, the way they''re treating this poor kid is absolutely disgusting. Having enough of this ridiculousness, she pulled her arm away from the tight grip and turned to walk and sat in her new seat. "Kayla dear! Plea- "the teacher stopped in midsentence after noticing the cause of this entire chaos shuffling in his sleep presumably waking up from his "slumber." Sweat was pouring down her teachers face as she hastily made a fake cough and commenced discussing today''s lesson. The other students followed suit and halted their whispering and ignored the petite girl and focus on their teacher with terrified expressions engraved on their faces. Kayla was astonished on the sudden change of behaviors. She turned to him with sweat pouring down her face. The blondie did not expect this to happen today, on her first day of school nonetheless. The dark hair boy slowly lifted his head inches away from his arms. Only his left eye was visible. "H-hello?" She said to the waking boy, staring into his emerald eye in concern. She could see his single eye widen upon setting their sight on her, without saying anything he promptly put his face back inside his shielded arms. Kayla bowed her head down, and her shoulders slump not expecting the reaction. It seemed this is was going to be harder than she thought. The blonde decided to try later in lunch, however, before the blondie could focus on the teacher''s lecture, she felt something poking her¡belly? Gradually looking to her right, she saw the boy in the same position as before poking her stomach in curiosity. Kayla couldn''t help but giggle from the small pokes; she was ticklish after all. Although her giggle spooked the boy causing his eye to widened a second time and went back into hiding. A small smile plastered on her face, replaced by a frown. "Why are they doing this to you?" she whispered to herself, still not understanding the fear of everyone else had for this boy. She might find out soon enough, however. Class went by as usual with the teacher discussing the lesson and answering questions for other students. Kayla noticed the teacher was actively ignoring her throughout the period as if she was an invisible ghost, even with her hand raise she didn''t bother to glance in the corner where the petite girl was, instead chose to ignore and answered the other students only.If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation. It was irritating since she had genuine questions on the notes. The boy on the other hand still hadn''t come out of hiding. She wasn''t sure if he was still asleep or uncomfortable because of someone such as herself was sitting next to him. Her kind nature again took over, taking notes just in case he needed them. For what felt like an eternity, the bell finally rang for lunch to her appreciation. This entire day was such a ruckus her belly was practically begging for food to ease the unsettling feeling she had. All students exited the classroom which became barren except for two who stayed behind. Kayla stood up with a pink tin lunchbox in hand and waited for the boy to the same. She wanted to interact with him during lunch at least. In such a rush the black hair kid stood up and ran past her without sparring a glance. She was startled at first, regaining her composer she let out a sigh as she glanced down. The sadden girl exited the room and walked through the hallway, in the corner of her eyes she saw people whispering among themselves as they pointed at her making comments. Kayla was glad she couldn''t hear any of their conversations. Instead, she focused on her goal. Entering the loud and boisterous cafeteria, she narrowed her eyes in search for a boy in all black clothing. Not having luck, she tried wandering around, dodging people larger and tinier than her. Unfortunately, no matter how far and wide she looked she found no trace of him. "Where could he be? It shouldn''t be hard finding a lonely boy in all black in here¡" She whispered to herself, barely audible in the loud cafeteria. A kid larger than her bumped her side. "Move out of the way weirdo!" He shouted, walking away with a tray full of gross food she didn''t even know existed on this planet. "I''m sorry!!" realizing she was in the middle of the cafeteria with numerous students passing by she decided to exit out in the hallway. A heavy sigh was released for the hundredth time since this day has started, "I guess mission was a failure. How hard is it to find an isolated bo- wait..."? The gears in her mind started spinning in her head. "Of course! How could I be so stupid!? He''s secluded not just from the classroom but the school as well, which means he wouldn''t be in a cafeteria full of obnoxious people rather he would want to be alone in a quiet private area during lunch." She snapped her fingers with a big ole smirk on her face, proud of her assumption. "Hmm, the black hair boy is somewhere in the building where people wouldn''t think of intruding him." Quickly her tiny mind thought of certain animes where the main protagonist or a side character would eat lunch on the rooftop¡ The problem is, it only occurred in Japan and not to mention the roof is off limits for students of course. Her index finger pressed on her chin she thought maybe the faculty wouldn''t bother checking there. I mean honestly who else would eat up on the scorching bright rooftop? It''s worth a shot. If not, then Kayla might have to do the unthinkable of any girl and search through the boy''s restroom, some anime characters do eat there sometimes. "Maybe I shouldn''t use anime as a basis of reality heh." She said with an embarrassed sigh, continuing her journey by taking a turn on the left and walked at the absolute end of the hallway. There was a secret set of stairs hidden away here. Well, she liked to imagine it being secretive, but in reality, not many students ever opted to use this to go towards the second floor since its furthest away from many classes. Kayla now in front of double doors opened it and was about rush up the steps, but at last, on the fifth step, she noticed someone in the corner of her eye. Halting her venture, she glanced to her right, and her pupils widen when she saw the boy she''s been looking for this entire time sitting on the furthest right on the fourth step. He was sitting like a statue with no signs of visible movement, glancing downward in solemn. "Whaa- I thought you would''ve been at... the rooftop¡" she said, her shyness returning after realizing she found the apparent boy who struck fear in the hearts of everyone at this school. Her voice, however, broke through his state of mind, registering it as he looked at her faster than any human could move with wide eyes, pushing himself against the wall like he saw his dead relative appear before him. His breathing increased more than usual, sweat pouring down his face with shakiness adding to his body. The petite girl stood back from the abrupt behavior change with her hands over her mouth. His reaction was getting worse, staring into those wide emerald eyes the small girl saw fear and anguish in them. In those eyes, she could feel dread and pain surrounding her body like a pack of crows pecking her skin endlessly. Kayla didn''t understand how someone can ever have those sadden eyes, the immense pressure she was feeling was so high that even tears were starting to form around her own soft brown eyes. It was as if she was looking into the eyes of a being who never learned what love is, who never learned what friendship was and who doesn''t even know, his self or experience anything happy in life. Removing her hand from her mouth, Kayla crouched to his eye level and tried to reason. "Please calm down. I''m not here to hurt you or bully you or anything¡I just want to be f-friends." Her soft, meek voice penetrated through his mind, easing his panic attack, she could see his eyes no longer shrouded with fear but still had hesitation. "I thou- I thought you were someo-" He panted, "Nothing, never mind¡" His body, now relaxed, turned back its original position from before. Kayla wondered what he was going to say just then. Did he recall someone with the same appearance as herself he knew before? The petite girl shook her head and slowly sat right on the fourth step, keeping her distance away as not to make him more uncomfortable and unease, and frankly, she was too. The blonde settled her lunch bag down next to her, not mustering an appetite anymore and was instead twiddling with her fingers. The effects from earlier still affecting her. She can''t even process any words to say right now; her mind wandered off to a distant place far from reality to figure out what just happened. Fortunately for her, a whisper broke the silence. "So¡Why are you here exactly? Are you here to just find secrets about myself? Because I got none of them! Or-or-or are you here to make fun of me?" Kayla stared at her twiddling fingers, "N-no no! I-I told you I want to be f-friends with you¡" He narrowed his eyes at the ground, "That''s hard to believe¡" He whispered, still staring at the floor, "I can''t see someone as cute as you ever hanging out with me, to be honest." A faint blush appeared, her shaky voice vanishing, " Its true! I''m new here, so I don''t really know what happened, but even so, they shouldn''t treat you that way in the first place. They shouldn''t treat anyone that way for that matter." She saw his eyes raise a little bit. Kayla glanced away from her fingers and at the boy, "Listen¡ I''ve suffered a similar situation to what¡¯s been happening to you at my old school. It was never this intense though, but I was alone with barely anyone ever supporting me in my need." A sigh escaped her lips, "I-i''ve been teased a lot, for not being more girly then I should. I watch a-anime, play video games" She could see his face light up at the mention of video games, "and listen to music that the other girls my age would call boyish." "Only a few girls would talk to me, but then they would transfer to another school before we could ever be closer¡Leaving me all alone." "What about the boys. Did you hang with them instead?" She shook her head, "It was an all-girls school¡ I don''t want anyone else to feel lonely like I did. It''s truly is a terrible feeling, and that''s why I wanted to be friends with you." A brisk of silence ensued, lasting only a minute before the boy brought his hand up, staring intently at it as if something was on it. "I agree that no one should be treated like this ever. Being isolated¡ Its one of the worst things to experience¡ However, I should be an exemption." Kayla furrowed her brow, "W-what no you should-" "I''m willing to be isolated¡S-so I wouldn''t hurt anyone else¡" he brought his other hand up as well. His hands were trembling, unstable as his eyes stared deeply into them like they''re the devil''s creation. "These hands have done the unthinkable¡ I-I''ve committed such cruel acts with them. So heinous that I deserve to be isolated from the world¡ I don''t want to hurt anyone else... being alone is for the best, not just me but everyone else including yourself..." Before she could ask a question, he set down his hands on his knee, "Forget what I said¡" The worried girl didn''t comply and instead reflected on what he had stated. All she could think of were endless waves of questions she had for him. The petite girl knew not to overwhelm the poor boy which she''s done in the past with other people before. What bothered her the most was his response, he was willing to be isolated because he had harmed people in the past? The way he stared at his hands during it signified it as well. Before she could pry further, the boy asked a casual question not concerning with the topic at hand. "What''s your favorite video game?" She blinked a few times not understanding the sudden change of subject, was this a trick question? Not sure about it she replied anyways. "U-uh umm, Bioshock I guess. I don''t have a specific order for my favorites¡" He hummed at the answer, "Heh not a bad choice." He nodded. The petite girl tilted her head, not sure if he was warming up to her, she remembered his face did light up from the mention of gaming, so maybe she''s making progress after all. The black hair boy stood and made his way towards the doorway, her brown eyes following him until he stopped, "You should avoid me like the rest of the people." He said with a serious tone. Maybe not she thought as the boy looked back at her with a set of stern eyes. Kayla, however, could see a trace of sorrow in them. "Seek safety whenever I''m around¡ Don''t sit by me again. Please¡" her eyes widen from the humility of his voice, is he really begging her to avoid him like the rest of the school? "Also, thanks." He gave her one last solemn look before he departed as the bell rang at the perfect time. Kayla now within her thoughts had little time to contemplate their interaction. Never had she met such a broken person in all her life. This gave Kayla Picaro a new mission now, standing tall with her eyes full of fiery youth. She will do everything in her power to change his life to something more significant, give him a purpose to live. Maybe even changing her life in the long run as well. But first, she must focus on the small goals. One which is finding out the name of this boy. 12 In a darkly lit room lies a pale-skinned boy with black hair and green eyes, sitting on his dark green sheeted bed. He wore nothing but a black shirt and black ripped jeans with long black socks. His room was dull as it gets, it shared a similar color scheme to his clothing, all walls were grey which correlated well with the black ceiling and his attire. The Room was empty with nothing more than a rolling chair in the middle pointing towards at a 27-inch 720p tv sitting on top of a wardrobe. The tv was the only light source illuminating the room with a gaming console sitting beside it. Behind the dusty console was a small pile collection of video games. The only noise in the room was coming from the tv as it was displaying a gag cartoon which the boy wasn¡¯t paying attention to. Instead, he sat with his knees held high to his chest, arms around his legs with his eyes directed at the grey wall opposite of him. His face displayed no emotion, just pure blank emptiness. He isolated himself from the outside world, blocking the noise of the tv and focused his attention on the grey wall. His mind was just as blank as his face. Nothing but nothingness His entire life revolved around this room. It was the only place he ever wanted to be in, certainly not out in the outside world nor any other rooms in the house. His bedroom only, It¡¯s the void which keeps him away from any living being so they could be safe from himself. It¡¯s the most perfect place he could ever dream of. If only he could wish he wouldn¡¯t have to think nor imagine an ounce of anything. Just a mind, devoid of anything, no emotion, no feelings, and most importantly, no pain. The closest thing to death. But no, reality doesn''t want it that way. Behind the emotionless pale face was an ordinary 11-year-old boy trying to break free from this constant nightmare and torture. Painful thoughts of other people¡¯s demise entered his head, every possible thing which would cripple any other child would invade his young, poor head for days and nights. Not even his savior, gaming could ever help. No matter how long he plays video games, these thoughts would only resurface and torment his mind, leaving him helpless on the floor until his father finally takes notice. Sometimes, staring into the grey wall for hours is one of the more enjoyable things to do. Not because it was fun, but because his mind would go blank at the constant staring of the dried pain-t. But even the wall has its limits as tears will still slide down his emotionless face. These thoughts can never leave his head, and they will continue to resurface and plague his mind. Pain will never go away no matter how long he stares; it will remain in his conscious for all eternity. But even so, he still tried to forget them just for a little while. Not until a voice he hated hearing so much would start talking in his mind. This voice, this terrible voice is the cause of his misery, the whole reason he wanted to end himself. The reason why everyone avoids him entirely, even the bullies feared him. And this isn¡¯t even counting the terrible atrocities this voice had made his body commit. He knows it isn¡¯t apart of his head, no it had to be a demon, it couldn¡¯t be himself, right? And yet again this menacing voice had to ruin his enjoyable activity by speaking. ¡°Oh my. It seemed you enjoyed school today. Let me guess, you¡¯re thinking about that girl, aren¡¯t you? His eyes widen, the young boy''s body began to tremble as his head sunk below, now staring at the bed. ¡°What was her name again? Kayla Picaro ah such a lovely name, it¡¯ll look even prettier on a gravestone after I give her a vis-¡° ¡°NO!!! I¡¯m not thinking about her! I¡¯m not I¡¯m not I am not thinking about her!!! His voice wavered as he put his hands on his face, ¡°Please¡ Don¡¯t do anything to her¡ she¡¯s going to leave me alone¡I guarantee it so please¡¡± A few tears slid down his face. ¡°I don¡¯t want anyone else t-to,¡± He grips his face tighter, ¡°Aghh I don¡¯t want to hear their screams anymore! Their eyes¡their poor eyes and faces I can¡¯t do it anymore! Please...¡± The sound of static filled the room instead of the gag cartoon he had on tv. He gradually moved his hands away just enough for his eyes to see the cartoon on his tv was replaced by a static channel. However, something disturbing caught his attention in the corner of his room where the wooden door was at.If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it. The entire area was progressively becoming darker until it was complete black, now spreading around his room like a living shadow slowly arriving at his location. The boy¡¯s face contorted into fear and his body shrunk back when he noticed humanoids made entirely of shadow and large red eyes emerging from the blackness. There was at least a dozen that was coming towards the boy. His hands frantically grabbed onto his hair, and his eyes closed while pushing himself further into his tight corner after hearing the humanoids screaming and screeching as if they were in pain. ¡°WhY DiD yOu dO ThIs to uS!¡± All the shadow beings gathered around his bed. ¡°N-no! I didn¡¯t do anything!¡± He covered his ears and closed his eyes, yet he could still hear them loud and clear in his head, their horrifying screams shattering his will. ¡°I cAn NEVER InTerACt wIth my FAMIlY Again BecAuSe of YoU!¡± ¡°It wasn¡¯t m-me!! It wasn¡¯t ME!!!¡± Tears fell like a waterfall, wishing these spirits to go away as they continued to torment him. ¡°IM S-SORRY! PLEASE S-STOP!¡± Suddenly the front door of the house opened loudly with a booming voice occupying it, ¡°I¡¯m home you stupid rat! And I brought pizza!¡± The boy¡¯s eyes quickly opened at the sound of his dad¡¯s voice. There he saw no sight of the shadow beings or any trace of the darkness ever appearing in his room. The cartoon from previously was displayed on TV as if nothing had happened. His heart was thumping at dangerous speeds, still not processing what had just occurred he blinked a hundred times to make sure they were truly gone. He wiped the tears and sweat accumulating from his face still shock from this experience. His breathing slowed down as he finally gathered his rational thoughts. The boy remembered hearing his father''s voice calling him for dinner. Hesitation at first he shook his head and slowly got out of bed, his legs were wobbly. Feeling the need to rest his body back on the bed, he pushed himself forward and tired forgetting this event. The boy gritted his teeth when a terrible headache was forming, deciding to fight this pain and exhaustion, he walked out of his room into the dark hallway, leaning on the walls for support before making his way downstairs into the living room. His father was in the kitchen eating a slice of pizza when he laid his eyes at his son in disgust. ¡°Why is it every time I look at you, you look dead inside?¡± The boy only looked down in shame, not able to keep eye contact with his father. ¡°Whatever just eat the whole damn pizza this time, I''m going to sleep.¡± His father finished eating the slice of pizza he had in his hand and walked upstairs, leaving the boy to his thoughts. I''m sorry His eyes glance at the pizza on the counter. It was a simple pepperoni pizza, as basic as it gets. But as he continued to stare intensely at the food, he saw flashes of human flesh, limbs and any dismembers parts appear on the pizza, causing him to stagger from the atrocity. The poor boy couldn''t bear to look at it anymore as he put a hand over his mouth and closed his eyes. Feeling nauseous to his stomach, he rushed towards the sink and vomited what little he had eaten from before. After he was done regurgitating his guts out, he washed away any remaining bits with running water from the sink. Another headache appeared at full force, getting used to the throbbing pain, he tried walking it off and not bother to look at the general direction of the pizza. But the pain pounding thumps in his brain was increasing so ever slightly. Pain¡ Why must I feel pain every god damn time? He hobbled his way upstairs, gritting his teeth at every step he took. All he wanted to do was to stare at the grey wall again, nothing more nothing less. Finally, now inside his room, the young boy shut the door from behind and got onto his bed. The headache was still at play, but he endured it and stared at the grey wall again to relieve all his thoughts. Slowly but surely his headache was seeping away. Peace¡ Finally¡ Being alone is the only way¡ No more thoughts just¡pure bliss¡ ¡°It¡¯s time to cause another havoc.¡± His eyes widen beyond belief, mouth agape, and hands on his head he desperately pleaded in his head towards the monster of hatred. N-no NO! Please don¡¯t! ¡°Oh, don¡¯t worry I¡¯ll keep your beloved classmates alive.¡± The boy can feel himself feel light headed trying his best to fight back the monster¡¯s control. ¡°N-no! God damn you¡ please, I don¡¯t want to see any more blood.¡± His voice, full of fear and desperation ceased as his body became limp. *Crack* *Crack* *Crack* The boy¡¯s limbs, legs, arms, fingers, anything with a bone were cracking in inhumane ways, so disturbing and unsettling any ordinary person would vomit at sight and possibly get a heart attack. A demon was taking possession of this defenseless 11-year-old. His neck snapped multiple times and became limp before snapping back into position. All bone breaking snaps came to a stop. Gradually his head rose, and eyes opened. A red dot was in the center of his green eyes, eyes that belonged to a demonic entity and a deep engraving smile was etched on his face. But the most disturbing part was the inhuman giggle it gave off. ¡°HehEhHeh.¡± 13 A slight jerk and a pair of eyes opened. His vision was blurry as his eyes gradually adjusted to the bright light. The human sat up and blinked furiously to regain his sight. Feeling it was up to par, he surveyed his dark surroundings. His eyes didn¡¯t get the chance to analyze the area when an antagonizing pain rumble throughout his whole body, shutting his eyes completely tight. Such a devastating force of power rocketed against his head, screaming was out of the question as Inaudible noises voiced from his throat, so intense blood came gushing out of his mouth. The sinner¡¯s insides burned almost like someone throwing Molotov¡¯s rapid-fire inside his flesh. His mind fair no better, going haywire with earthquake shattering migraines accompanied by both body and bone aches. The thumping of his heartbeats no longer soft but more like someone stabbing his life organ at every second. Was it possible to endure something worse than anything he felt in hell? Is this the ultimate punishment? The lone thought dissipated as the sinner shook violently from a seizure. But at last, a miracle happened. The immense pain had died down. His eyes widen to the utmost degree, terrified at his own predicament, clenching his chest while his other arm laid helplessly on the cold metal bed. Allowing himself to regulate his breathing as the sweat pour down his face, mixing with the tears of anguish from what he had to endure. In the corner of his eyes, he noticed something unusual about his arm, he lifted both arms and was stunned to find his blue veins replaced by the darkest shade of black he had ever seen. It was pulsating, and oddly enough, he sensed a weird power radiating from it, entranced he tried touching his blacken veins and later wince from the burning sensation. ¡°W-what the hell is going on with me!¡± He stammered, coughing more of the darkest shade of blood he¡¯d seen come out of his body. His face scrunched up, having no doubt believing it was the result of this black liquid coursing through his veins. If he had to guess this substance was injected inside him by a dumb brute of a demon, a poison meant either for restraining purposes or just plain torture. However, a question arose when he discovered he wasn¡¯t sitting on a patch of burning heated rocks. Bewildered, he knocked on the structure he was on, a metallic sound rang into his ear. His head tilted at the realization, it was a metal bed and not the hard-rocky terrain of the hellish spot he has initially been used too. The sinner gritted his teeth to ignore the thumping pain and focus his mind on the scenery he was in. Doing so, he began to feel the sudden cold air hitting the nape of his neck. Confusion dawn on the sinner, now by no means he wasn¡¯t an expert on this, but he definitely knew there was no such thing as cooled air in hell of all places. The sinner gritted his teeth to bear the pain as he twisted his neck around, hardly seeing anything at all with the dim lights. Opting to squint his eyes, he saw various items in the room, items he vaguely remembered. His comprehension of such equipment came back in small tidbits of his memories. The sinner rested a palm on his head, an odd feeling overcame him, but with this new info and understanding, he was sure this area had to be a lab or a medical room of some kind. To his right was a counter, full of unique high-tech tools and equipment, above was an array of glass shelves with shattered bottles, beakers, and more broken tools he¡¯d never seen before. He presumed the containers to be medicine or unknown substance, possibly the same substance which was injected to his body. Hell may have removed his core memories like who he was and the life he had lived before, but it doesn¡¯t remove the most basic of info. For example, knowing what an apple is or the image of a skyscraper. This undoubtedly explains why he vaguely knew these items. However, he can¡¯t help but feel like he has forgotten something important during his sleep before his awakening. He brushed the feeling aside and looked up to the ceiling above to find a reason for such low lighting. All ceiling lights were broken except for one which emitted a low blue hum of light. How peculiar it was, and to top it off after noticing the fractured lights, he saw the metallic walls around him were also damage beyond belief with large cracks seizing up the walls. On further examination of said walls, he noticed massive scorch marks which looked recently made he inquired as well as the dents marking the metallic interior all around him, nearly hidden by the darkness. Eyes widening to a considerable degree as it dawn against him. This corresponded with the damage items he saw on the counter as if an explosion erupted in this very room, and judging from the recently made scorch marks must mean it happened not too long ago. Possibly hours before waking up. The human looked over his body, with no signs of recent injuries¡ Wait, this can¡¯t be right. Even his scars were gone, and It wasn¡¯t the work of the hellish regen unless a demon had healed them, but the idea was absurd, he should still retain his long-term scars and bruises, and yet they had disappeared right off his body. Jon¡¯s curiosity for the discovery had to put on hold, he needed answers to whatever had happened here. The only other being who would have answers was Void, but at last, the blasted demon has yet to make itself known. How unusually quiet it was, and it wouldn¡¯t be a surprise if Void were the culprit for this destruction. Somehow the unknown entity has the power to take control of his body, but the last time it did so was unclear. For all, he knows, the monster was the cause of this unknown substance to course through his veins. Its abilities are a mystery like this place he¡¯s currently occupied in. The sinner let out a tiresome groan as he lifted his arms to check the substance that cause him such misery, his eyebrows rose as to find no visible signs of any blacken veins, ¡°Wait where did it go?¡± Were the headaches messing with his perception of reality, creating a-n illusion of it being black? He shook his head; no, he may not be in the right state of mind, but there¡¯s no doubt what he saw was there. His jaw tightened as his thoughts were shattered from an incoming migraine. Grunting at the intensity, he placed both hands on his ears when a loud ringing accompanied the migraine-like a duet, which blasted in his mind so loud, blood trickled out of his ears. The nightmarish pain of both migraine and the atrocious noise came to a complete stop. The sinner breathes heavily before placing his hands down as eerie silence overcame. ¡°HehEh.¡± Is all the voice of nightmares said, a playful tone with such eerie happiness layered underneath, sending shivers across the sinner''s spine. Honestly, it was by far the creepiest thing he ever heard. Jon gritted his teeth. If he needed info, then the beast was the only way of knowing anything. Void, where are we? ¡°HEHahaA.¡± Would you stop laughing and tell me where we are?! ¡°HEaehaahah!¡± What the hell hap- ¡°HEAHHAHAHAHA¡±Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions. STOP! The sinner slammed his fist down on the metal bed and creating a dent. Without a moment of hesitation, the entity spoke, ¡°I won¡¯t say, but I¡¯m sure all of your questions would be explained by the sleeping gentlemen.¡± The sinner blinked while raising his eyebrow. Sleeping gentleman? Void ignored the question, ¡°Your blood, I can smell its overwhelming power! Oh, how it brings back memories.¡± The sinner¡¯s ears caught the sound of movement. In front of him, he quickly zoned out the idiotic entities'' dialogue about blood and instead focus his attention on the scorched wall. He saw nothing until a patch of dark brown hair came into view, using what little strength he had he push himself further down the metallic bed. His legs dangle in the air, but in his line of sight, he saw an injured person lying on the wall. The sinner froze in place and stared with wide eyes at the person, ¡°A-a human?¡± He whispered to himself, he rubbed his eyes to make sure it wasn¡¯t a trick of the eyes, but after rubbing it multiple times, he was sure this was indeed another living human being in the flesh. Judging from what the individual was wearing (white lab coat and khaki pants), he knew this man was a scientist or doctor to some degree. The scientist looked to be in the same worsened state as he was with his lab coat scorched with torn sleeves and bloodstains on his brown shirt and blood residue on his face and mouth. I wasn¡¯t expecting to see another of my race for a long time, and surprisingly one that works for the demons. ¡°HEeh, don¡¯t be mistaken. He isn¡¯t a human.¡± Jon slightly tilted his head, ¡°You see, I never one discuss this power of mine, but I¡¯m able to see souls inside a mortal, and this gentlemon certainly doesn¡¯t fit the bill of being a human nor any mortal as he lacks one.¡± Wait, I don¡¯t have a soul either, wouldn¡¯t that just mean he¡¯s in the same boat as I am? ¡°Ah, but you see my dead human, your current body IS your soul. That is why if you die again, then you cease to exist.¡± Realization slowly crept the sinner, eyes widening to higher degrees as the conversation prolonged. ¡°I have to say his suppression of demonic energy is on another level. Hehe disregarding my ability to see souls, I most likely would¡¯ve made the same mistake, but like many things, it¡¯s only futile to hide anything away from me for too long hehahe.¡± A sense of bewilderment struck the sinner. W-wait wait did you actually give me insightful info for once?! This must be a side effect of the experiment. ¡°You¡¯re not entirely wrong, hehe.¡± Jon rested a hand on his face. The information given sounded plausible so far; even if it came from an untrusted source, there¡¯s no other choice but to accept the info. Wearily though, he¡¯ll have to trust the entity, for now, nothing else to lose other than his dignity. Now his last concern was the inner workings of his body. So, any ideas what this disguised scientist has done to my weak, innocent body? ¡°I¡¯m sure the best person to answer any questions about the state of your body is right Infront of you. Oh, look, he¡¯s waking up!¡± His hand moved away, and precisely what Void said, the scientist begrudgingly opened his tired eyes or at least attempted to since his right eye was bleeding and refused to open to the scientist¡¯s disappointment, legs battered and beaten, but he stood up, nonetheless. Jon observed as the scientist rubbed his temples, accompanied by a loud groan. The human questioned why the scientist would be injured in the first place. It¡¯s not like he¡¯s the one who was an experiment on without consent. ¡°Tsk.¡± Annoyed by the residue of pain, his chest was emitting. A tired expression adorned on the scientist''s face, using his left eye, he stared at Jon for a moment. The human eyed the scientist with a hateful glare. However, the scowl went unnoticed as the scientist in a calm voice said, ¡°Ah, so you¡¯re finally awake? Splendid.¡± ¡°You were literally asleep a few seconds ago.¡± Jon replied nonchalantly with a deadpan face. The scientist did a few stretches until realization hit, his eyes widen and quickly stared at the test subject, ¡°W-wait you¡¯re awake! N-no, you¡¯re ALIVE!!! Well, not alive, but ALIVE!!¡± The scientist leaned in, eyeing the sinner from head to toe, seeing nothing but success. The loud, boisterous voice wasn¡¯t doing any favors for Jon¡¯s head, immediately another headache took root, groaning in pain, he yelled back, ¡°Damn it not again!¡± Suddenly, his body began to react horribly with spasms. All his veins glowed the same shade of black around his body, his heart ached and burned with such intense boilingly heat as if it was going to melt through his body Sweat poured onto his face as he laid back onto the metal bed, sheltering his face with his hands to withhold the antagonizing scream. Time past and the pain lessened enough for his breathing to become steady. His eyes were shut closed until one eyelid opened to look for the scientists, hoping the stranger was preparing some sort of medicine. Oh, how wrong he was, instead of doing anything to help, the maniac of a scientist was too busy taking notes on his tiny notepad. Worst enough, he had an annoying grin plastered on his face, not even acknowledging the pain Jon was suffering. ¡°A-Are you seriously take- Agh! Just fucking help, me!¡± The only response he got was an ecstatic giggle. The doctor breathed deliberately, eyes checking on his sickly patient every few seconds before documenting his findings and research into his notes. Finally, luck was on the sinner¡¯s side as the pain died down, almost ceasing entirely. Gasping for air and muscles feeling drained as he sat upright with the utmost difficulty. ¡°Amazing simply amazing! Your cries of agony bring me new motivation! Haha, in other words, this is excellent news! The lab coat wearing stranger started jotting down more words into his blasted notepad. The sinner slowly glared at the scientist ludicrously. However, instead of addressing the issue with a cold response like usual, a slow laugh sprung up, causing some coughs in the process, but the sinner kept a low chuckle, ¡°I guess I should¡¯ve expected this. You¡¯re a demon, after all.¡± The scientist paused his scribbling and raised his head with a curious brow aim at the sinner, ¡°Hmm¡ So, you figured that out.¡± The sinner¡¯s eyes widen at the tone shift in the doctor, a crestfallen face before transforming into one of rage in a split second and in the same second returned to his psychotic smile. It was the most emotion he¡¯d seen, all happen in quick second intervals. What more unnerving was the silence that issued. The scientist was no longer staring at him, no he was staring behind him in long deep thought as the world around him didn¡¯t seem to matter for the moment. The scene looked reminiscently¡ As if he did the same thing before in a dream... He quickly came to his senses and broke the silence with another question, ¡°I take it I was right then?¡± The scientist blink once, ¡°A-ah, uh yes, yes¡¡± The scientist peered into his notes, ¡°A demon¡ I am regretfully one¡¡± Jon raised his eyebrow, ¡°I-I am curious on how YOU came up with that conclusion? Did you sense it, or maybe I was giving too many hints to my biology?¡± Tapping his notebook, ¡°After releasing you from your shackles, I couldn¡¯t sense any presence of mana, nor any suppress liferen. But yet you manage to create an explosion of pure energy that I¡¯ve never felt before! And defeated a tier 2! What powers are you hiding human?!¡± The boisterous display served to anger Jon¡¯s brain. Physically and mentally, he rested a palm on his forehead to calm the intruding headache beginning to form. ¡°Can you slow the fuck down? I have no idea what you¡¯re talking about.¡± ¡°Forgive me! My excitement can get the better of me.¡± No kidding "In essence, how can I not be excited! You are my greatest creation! One that can change history!¡± ¡°I don¡¯t understand? Whatever you have done to me makes me feel like my existence is coming to an end.¡± The timing was perfect when he issued severe, bloody coughing fit to make his point. ¡°I would like to explain it now, but as you can see, I¡¯m not in my best of shape like you are. I¡¯ll explain everything later, Mr¡¡± Without hesitation, Jon blurted out a completely different name, ¡°Darkvoid.¡± His eyes widening, wait, why did I choose that name¡ ¡°HehEhe, how funny.¡± Before the sinner could reply, the scientist questioned his ¡°name.¡± Shaking his legs with a painful look, replaced by a smile a second later. The ordeal went unnoticed by Darkvoid, ¡°I find it hard to believe that is your real name.¡± ¡°I just don¡¯t trust you with my real name, to begin with, and since we¡¯re on this subject, what about you?¡± ¡°Eraak. You like it? I came up with it myself.¡± The scientist, now known as Eraak grin, Jon couldn¡¯t help but smirk back. ¡°Ah, I see how it is. I¡¯m kinda hurt, seeing as I am your greatest experiment by your words that I might receive a real name from my apparent "savior."¡± Eraak nodded, ¡°You are, indeed, correct! However, it does help to wear safety goggles around sinners like you. A great mind like me needs to enact his ultimate plan without any predicaments, so safety is critical!¡± ¡°A plan? Is it to use me to change history as you like to put it?¡± I don¡¯t know why, but I¡¯m starting to like this demon. He seems more human than any demon I''ve met, though. Eraak clasped his hands together or at least tried too with his notepad and pen in the way, ¡°As I said, I¡¯ll tell you everything, but first I¡¯ll have to train you to see how that body works.¡± Darkvoid squinted at the mention of training. Eraak quickly made his way to the presumed exit to this room, ¡°Before we get to that, I have to go heal my¡¡± He gestured to his injuries, ¡°Till then Go wash yourself up in the restroom it¡¯s across this room.¡± The door opened on its own as the mysterious doctor walked out. However, instead of leaving, he halted and stared back at Jon with the same craze expression, ¡°You won''t have any limits when I''m done with you, Darkvoid.¡±
