《SEVENTH STREET SUCKERS》 Chapter 1: Corrupted justice Within a city of demons, Weak is a man that chooses power, Strong is a man that chooses wisdom, and Evil is the man that has chosen Control. . - . - . S - S - S . - . - . In this universe that we live in, we portray ourselves as a common piece that walks in a straight interspacial line that doesn''t even exist. Are our views of this world just a piece of our mind? Or much more of the picture? Rather the idea or the understanding between the crevices of this whole foriegn universe are only explained if we look into the cells of creation. However, even knowing what we are most likely wouldn''t change a thing, and there was no one who knew this better then the boy known in this particular story as Crow. I will say that this boy holds a specific past, that defines the present, and could hold a strong, and clear meaning to the word, Insane. Yet the words of this world doesn''t abide to the laws of reality in the terms of mental constitution created for the people of this specific universe. Neocrelus, without a doubt the most darkest and cruelest city of this world, yet its not the city that is bad, its the people that live in it. . - . - . - . S - S - S . - . - . - . In the early stages of Crow''s life, he was without a doubt a very intellectual boy. However odd it may be, he was still only just 7 years of age at the time, and with that touch of comprehensive ability, it was almost abnormal for his classmates to hear of his unchanging grades. Although being a very smart child, he was bored of his life, all he ever felt like doing was watching clouds, and not doing a single thing. Isn''t there a damn thing to do? He thought to himself, time flew by the days of where he hadn''t done much, and it was only "killing" him slowly, as he would say. To him, these painfully slow days and boring afternoons would only keep him bored. However, in that head of his, he was actually thinking of a memory he held onto most. The death of his mother, Mariel. A medallion, bearing a blade inside a Horned Dragon, it was his most precious possesion. Since it was something his mother had left him, he had nothing except that to remember her by, because her death was his birth. And as greatful as he was, he had nothing to look forward to, because whenever he did, something was always at play. . - . - . - . S - S - S . - . - . - . However we know how or what crow has come by, he unknowingly awaits his execution, but rare the occasion in where his father had dissapeared. . . . In the beginning of the 5 days before his exectution, Crow lived his little life with much of a quite feeling. He never did like popularity, and he never really cared for the attention that many would want. He held his medallion close to himself, everywhere he went, it was a necesity to himself, to the way he thought. On this day however, a normal morning, and everything had gone well for Crow as he attended his school. What really bothered him was that someone had been following him, And out of all the people, the most silent one was he.The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement. In class, walking in the hallways, and everywhere he had gone, he felt he had eyes on him. He could feel the piercing glares on his back as he walked and moved, or even as he sat. It was constantly bothering him as his day went by. When the bell had rung and school had ended, he quickly grabbed his belongings and moved towards home. Just bearing being watched held him on edge, and knowing someone was watching him, even more so, disreguarding that fact, he was only a kid, but he knew very well the many consequences and learned of the many times kids or people had been either kidnapped or killed through reading and watching the news. Even through this incredible system that they lived in at the time, there was always someone who was able to pass through the security that most people couldn''t get through. As Crow had finally arrived through the constant running, the door to his house however, had been left opened, Leaving Crow wide-eyed and slightly pale. Weary he was as he took each step slower then the next, towards his front door. Who would have gone in? Why would anyone go in this particular home? These were questions that riddled his mind. And out of all the people, why himself? he pondered at the thought. He couldn''t find any explanation to this eventful moment, reasons that he made in his mind would be thrown off by the answers he provided himself. He knew very well that his father had nothing to do with this world, or maybe he would have? But who? If that was true, he would have known in the understanding of his work and job that he learned of so quickly, how could this happen? And such was his thoughts riddled with questions only an analyst would make. The house though was left untouched, but the only thing that left him pale was the knowledge that someone had been inside, although he wondered who. Still feeling insecure, Crow took a look inside, and walked in alerted. He was unknowingly shaking as he had alowly scanned everything in the house from his room to the living room. He felt the place was colder than usual, and he could hear his very own breath by the painstalkingly silent home. Somehow, everything was in place, it was either some sort of unknown problem, or that the person who had been there knew why he had been there. Yet upon noticing that every room had been checked, just what would he have, that others would want? While he walked and took a long look at everything in the case that something was moved, he was beginning to notice something, he did in fact not only hear his own breath but someone elses. However, due to the way it sounded, it was not like that person was hiding rather, the breathing was quite hasty. The sound had come from the room his father had forbidden him to go into, it was his father''s study, a room filled with books and other unimportant things. At a point of hesitation, he had already begun to think of n excuse, but would he really break on of his fathers great rules, he knew very well what his father would do if he did so. Yet, he felt the need to push open that door greatly, it was the feeling of an increadible Unknown impulse The door to his father''s study was the furthest in the main hallway, which was where he could hear the sound of breathing starting to go slower and slower as seconds passed, however, it felt odd to him. He walked towards the door, step, by step, by step, and the closer he got, the closer he was to the sound of slow breathing. In the moment of eve, he had slowly opened the door, making the door slightly creak. He saw only the leg of a girl, yet as the light grew more stronger the more he opened the door, He was in full view of the girl. Although he saw her, his expression grew paler beyond comparisson due to the undelightful sight in front of him. To Crow, it had seemed like the world had shifted into place, in a way he couldn''t understand, however he knew the next thing to happen, was by fate. "I-its.....You" His eyes tearinng up by the sudden sight before him, it had all connected in his mind, that the girl that was dying before him, was someone he knew very well. The small beaten and frail girl at deaths door gave him an odd glance as the boy had fallen to his knees, for she didn''t recognize him, yet she felt familiar aura. Yet the next moment, bursting through the door, the authorities had quickly surrounded the wimpering Crow. How so sudden a mortal had given into the emotion that complete understanding had been passed down into his mind. Yet so interesting indeed. This is the moment everything would change for Crow, or should I say Conner. Chapter 2: with Rubble and stone Within the cracks and crevices of the city of Neocrelus, lies the many distinct sectors of the general system control, but that was only limited within the primary Districts going up to the 6th ever since the change in the compartments of the system. Each of the primary districts had a stronghold of security, but the only ones that didn''t were those passing the 7th until the dead-zone of the city which is past the 16th District, the "Badlands", And they were the only places only chaos exists. Plainly said no one knows what happens beyond the walls of the city, but every single person that has gone into the walls, has never made it back. The only different zone across the city are those "blank zones" rather "transparent" would be more the name then blank. The empty transparent zones which were called "Wired Zones" were those like the 12th District, the 10th and the 11th. In these Districts, everything and anything can happen, if you''re lucky though, you might even stumble upon the Main streets that are watched by the many people around, but the only place that isnt secured is everything outside of those streets. -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- S - S - S -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- As time passed by, soon enough, Conner would then wake up to find himself in a different place then from where he originally was. Although the boy had forgotten about what had happened he seemed confused, dazed, he struggled to get up in which he felt seemed as if he had been drugged and placed there. Although he couldn''t explain it, he felt something had changed within him but he couldnt explain what exactly. This area though gave him a creeping feeling going up his spine. He glanced around dazed like a coma patient had just woken up after years of slumber, and noticed that his surroundings were actually like that of a sewer-system. The muck-filled water smelled pungent and terrible, but the air that loomed seemed to push of that smell only slightly so it wouldn''t smell as bad as it sounded. The cold stone ground in where Conner was slowly getting up from was rough and humid, yet it slightly satisfied in an odd way. While getting up from the ground Conner started feeling more normal from how stunned he felt when he came to. He could be able to hear more clear the sounds of air that tresspassing through this tunnel system, and knowing that wherever air traveled would mean the outside area which could''ve also meant people would obviously be near. He wasn''t sure just where he was, thus he took caution and walked on towards the noise. The sound of the steps bounced off the walls and into the deeper parts of the sewers, in the oposing direction of where the boy was headed. Soon enough within 30 steps he found himself at an exit towards a broken crumbled alleyway that lead a straight path. This alleyway although seemed destroyed with lots of rubble around there hadn''t been any light passing through the cracks above of the destroyed concrete walls that had collapsed above it. Either it was dark by now, or the light of day was probably not close yet, it was most probable that ''it would be night by then'' thought Conner. He slowly walked as to not take much attentive actions, for there could be people nearby, but he started to move with a bit more haste. He started to see post-lights in-between openning cracks of concrete and stone, by then an open exit was into view and a street was able to be seen in the light of the post. This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings. As he approached the street, he could almost read the broken street plate as it read "7th St." Without paying much attention to the name, the whole street looked empty, not a single person around. He could even hear the air pushing the metal plate forcing it to slowly bend unanimously. With all of the walking he had, this was a chance to rest under the post-light. Resting, he glanced down onto what he was wearing and noticed he looked like he had escaped from an asylum. The clothes that he had on was a white broken straight-jacket with normal white messed up slacks. heeding this to mind, he began to question what had taken place with his life. But with all questions there needs an answer, and he had yet to figure out what kind of answer to that question would be. Feeling more able to move his body around now he decided to start moving around the area. He had to figure out what to do while he was there, and location is something he needed to cover in this place. He didn''t remember much, but it was enough to start off with what he had. Conner was feeling off, but something that is decided must be finished before the end of the day, or night rather in this case. He got up quickly, looking up at the black starless void above him and back down towards the streets, he took steps forward as his head slowly turned towards the other end of the messed up street. Oddly, he had seen a person on the concrete ground. Walking towards that person. The dim light from the area made it hard to see what exactly had taken place but he could see the bright red liquid that flowed out from under the person. Yet opon completely scanning the person, his eyes caught with the person. This person had eyes like that of a hawk, a piercing glare towards Conner made his body turn to stone, untill a voice had snapped him out of it. "Who are you and what are you doing?!" Without words of reaction, Conner had remained stagnant, but took the time to turn around, and what he saw held him speechless. A girl that he figured he knew, had appeared before him, immediately his head started to bang with an inexcrutiating pain that he could not fathom, it had him falling to his knees and groaning out of the sheer pain he had felt. "Whats wrong with you?" The strain had him closing his eyes focusing on himself instead of towards what was exactly ahead of him, it was not the girl at all, in fact it was a boy around his exact age. Oddly the pain only felt sharp and piercing for a short moment. With the pain slowly going away he had opened his eyes, instinctively he had turned around, and the body had seemed to be nothing but a bag filled with random tools. He slowly stood up again holding his head with his left hand as his head was pulsing. "are you alright?" again the boy had said. With one look at the boy, something was mysterious about him. Conner had never seen anyone with such oddly white hair colour and a different complexion with a darker tone of skin. Although it was abnormal to see that it did not make him falter from the difference in what he saw. "yeah... I guess" A weak yet valid response towards the boy, what followed however was complete silence. Somehow this random boy seemed to have broken the silent ambience in the snap of a finger. "Are you lost?" Conner looked around after he asked that, it didn''t look like he knew the place anyways, Conner gave a simple yet shy nod. "Then how about coming with me?" Smiling wildly the boy held out his hand as if he was giving an opportunity of a lifetime. However, Conner had many things to ask yet there wasn''t much that he wanted to say. "But where are you headed?" Conner looked at him indifferently, not a single smile or reaction, unlike the boy which was a bit spontaneous. "Luckily for you, I''m headed to a big mansion of my own!" The boy had a few things in his other hand they seemed like old rags and pieces of sticks bundled together. "Alright, then I guess I''ll tag along" As the empty-sounding Conner responded, the boy handed over what was in his hand towards him. He looked at the things curiously but didn''t question what the boy was going to do. "That reminds me, whats your name?" Conner had thought about what exactly was his name but couldn''t figure out for what he was really called, whenever he had tried to remind himsef his mind simply blanked out. Yet after a minute or so, the boy in front looked around towards what had happened to be a crow across from them. As Conner was stuck there thinking the boy had looked back and fourth from the crow and Conner simultaneously wanting to speak. "How about I call you crow?" Said the boy with a simple smile. Snaping Conner out from his trying to remember what exactly he was called, He gazed over to the boy and started to think about that. Without any disagreement Conner had nodded with a small "okay". Chapter 3: Under I gasped out of the air that had left me waking me up from my sleep... I Had gotten up from a small broken bed we had made a while back. It had felt like a while since I had been with Jack, and honestly, life in this place isn''t exactly easy. I kind of couldn''t remember much, and somehow, I still can''t figure out what had happened the day I had arrived here, its already been 3 months since then. The area we are at currently is in an abandoned mansion away from any nearby street or town, its broken and destroyed, but most of the inside of the house is still intact, and the really impressive part is that its underground, away from anyone capable of hurting us. The layout of the house was pretty big and sturdy although it was all made of wood, and from the 3rd floor that had a broken piano fall all the way to the first the second and third foor had a big hole in it where you can see it from the first floor lobby. I can only imagine how old this place is, but with the cover that we have from everything it will serve absolutely useful for living in it. Other then that, Jack doesn''t really seem to mind this place, his white hair is just as blank as his brain, but he seems very reliable. Although we are pretty young to be wandering around ourselves alone without supervision which what society usually controls, here we don''t really have any necesity for supervision. But hey, it does get pretty lonely without parents... "Hey!, what are you zoning out for, pass me that plank over there!" Out of nowhere he pooped his head out from one of the big holes in the second floor, he just blantly shouts without any care if anyone hears, but maybe he''s just confident about this place. "I can''t lift it, its too heavy for me" I said trying to bring it up on one end. The plank was pretty big for me, hell my size is pretty small anything like this wouldn''t be easy to lift at my age. The boy gave me an odd look as if saying "Is that so?" and he came down from where he was in the second floor through the hole. He walked towards the plank and me and gave me a wierd look. "You can''t lift this?" He kneeled down and picked it up with ease.. It had kind of suprised me honestly, I never really saw that coming. "My body is weak, but.. I never expected you to lift that, it looks heavy" I said in a bit of stunned tone. He smiled and chuckled a bit, "It comes naturally." He walked off with a smile. I guess he is susceptible to compliments... Anyways, We have been living off of these bars and snacks that Jack had found in this house, and apart from that, there is a big grated whole with metal bars at the top of the cieling from underground I think I should''ve mentioned. I asked Jack about if anyone would be able to see us from up there and he said that its a place that has been long since abandoned, and he wouldn''t think anyone would be capable of getting up there since its near the security sustenance near the wall to the next District. I also asked him about this place and we have talked a lot about this place, I guess it seemed that he had been living in these parts for years of his life because of how much he happens to know about this. Of the many things that he had told me though, one thing seemed to spark my interests, about an Integrated Facility that was made in the outer districts of the white Circle, and by White Circle, I mean the supposed districts that are "Protected by law" thats what they called it. Right now we are Under the streets of the 10th district, and these sewers are a vast channel that pass through many layouts of these districts up until the 7th. Where I walked out of was from another channel of sewers at the end of a large street that passes through the whole district of the 12th named 7th street, but that place has been chaotic since everyone uses it as a battleground between different gang wars, which is what Jack told me. So yeah, we have made out little base of operations under the crusts of these districts, we may hear gunshots and other things but other then that, we have no other things to do. Jack wants to build this place up like a proper mansion, but I have no idea what to do since there isn''t much to do me being with this weak body. I didn''t want to bother Jack so I had told him I would be heading out towards the Street near town. "Make sure to stay away from crowds, they''re a lot of theives and I''m pretty sure you don''t want that metal-thingy of yours taken from your pocket." he said. Huh? Metal thing? I Searched my pockets calmly and found a small medallion that had a sword lodged inside a dragon... I looked at this for a long moment trying to figure out where I had gotten it. I don''t recall this object, but I''m feeling something from it.Unauthorized use of content: if you find this story on Amazon, report the violation. I tried to think about the dragon and the sword, of what it meant, only to regret it 5 seconds later. In that instant my head felt like there had been thousands of needles piercing throughout my head. I Held my head with both my hands dropping the medallion on the floor. It was more of an electrical shock that had dispersed throughout my brain, and it sent out waves rather quickly. I couldnt breath for a matter of seconds through the moment that is was occuring. I didn''t even allow me to react that well. After waiting for a moment, my head stopped hurting, but there was a throbbing and burning sensation, more of an after-effect. Slowly pulling my hands away from my head, I glanced towards the medallion that was now on the wooden floor. ''Something like this thats affecting me.. That medallion, must have something important to do with me'', i thought. This made me think, but quickly I grabbed the medallion put it in my pocket and left out of the first floor lobby of the mansion and outside to the sewers. . S . S . S . "''"''Heh''"''" . S . S . S . The sound of the streets as the people spoke talked about. There were many eyes and people looking about, many of those people weren''t smiling as they passed by, I can only tell slightly what was going on, but too much is moving it was hard to follow. I was looking to the street through a small opening from under the sidewalk. I was small enough for me to see but I don''t think anyone else would be able to see me. And as people loomed about it was much more easier for me to hear since the sewers get a lot of sound coming from outside. These streets however weren''t like those in the White circle districts, they were more rough then that from what I saw... Huh? Hold on, from what I saw? I shook my head, from going off on what I oddly said, ''Stop messing around, focus on what''s important.'' I did come to this place since I was bored, but more than that, what I really came for, was to gather information about this place. Even a little bit of information should come in handy. But I did hear a bunch of other things like "No, no, you idiot, Batteries like these only last for a while until the set takes an overchage, Dynamorin is better" "When we get home, that bastard Krane is gonna get it handed to him, He set me up!" "Look at that, he had no idea what they said when he yelled, ahahaha!" Just people passing by you can hear many things that people say, its all in these hollow-aired sewers that makes it easier to hear. Anyways, I decided I had felt like I wanted to get to ground level and see what I can get, but I better be careful, I can never know what may happen. I grabbed two hand sized rocks and put them in my pockets. Ah, and I should mention, these new clothes that I had on myself were found in the mansion, they were a bit rugged, but we cleaned them out with whatever water the mansion had stored up, all it was were some black slacks, and a red T-shirt with some stain I can''t take off. Enough about clothing. I followed one end of the sewers that lead to a small opening in a nearby alleyway, I decided to cover this opening just to be sure that no one would find it, I used a wooden board that was light enough for me to move to cover up the spot. It was only going to be temporary though. I had glanced around the area and followed the way that seemed to be the streets. After getting to the streets in a few quick turns, (no worries I made sure to remember the small turns to the opening), I saw many people walking through, but not many shops around the area. Well, thats how difficult it is when you have the attention span of a kid the age of 7 years old. I was careful enough to use the sides of the streets, but even so keeping at one side with a wide street when there are a lot of people is hard enough. I walked a good far bit from where I really should have, however I am constantly taking a lot of information. I have learned that many people are using this tranciever device to speak to another person from afar, but it seems overused here, and apart from that, the most important thing... The currency. The currency of course has always been Colts. Colt comes in two forms which I know of Transversal and Sytopial, but theres a third form called Versatial. Transversial is the generic type of form, which evyerone would generaly use of course, and Sytopial is a more controlled type, where its more secure to keep it, lastly Versatial is probably the most valuable one there is, because it is a higher uncontrollable form of the currency. Everyone in the lower depths of this place will most likely use V¡é (Versatile Colt) than T¡é(Tranversal Colt). Just keep that in mind, ok. (A/N: Ill put it like this to ease your powerful mind solving capabilities, [Transversial = Cash] [Sytopial = Credit/debit] And [Versatial = the untraceable untrackable, Bitcoin].) Ideally the most normal thing in the market as of today for this normal day that we have here, but dont let this common topic discorage you. The other important things that I have learned is that this place also happens to harbour a lot of the news. Things like lies comming onto some sort of court and someone completely Dismantled the system control, just normal crazy things that you would often see on the news these days. But of course, this is what I have been seeing since the past month, and at first all I ever did was stay under the sewers, however, this is the first time I have walked on top ground. Theres always a first for everything they say. I decided to return for the time being, I got back to the main spot of the board and all, went past the underlayer of the sidewalks in the street, and through the smaller holes of the sewage system, and voila, back to the mansion. I did take my time to remember everything that I had to remember about this place. "Hey! it took you a while to get back now haven''t you?" Always will never forget how loud that voice really is. "ah, Jack, you were waiting for me?" Jack was sitting right outside the steps to the porch of the mansion. "Of course I was, this place isn''t completely safe yet, we have to finish up repairing whatever we have to do in this house." Although jack was probably around the same age as me he somehow seemed like he acted more mature then usual, and somehow I felt like I was a disobedient kid, whatever. "I feel like we need a transciever device, but what else do we have to repair, have you fixed the hole on the second floor?" "It''s finished, but we need to worry about other things now, like a barricade or something that would block out the two big sewer oppenings between the entrances to the south and the west sewers." he looked towards the right, in the direction of one of the open sewer openings. "good point, but should we really focus on fixing this house that much? you seem like you want to make this place into a cage" "Crow, I''ve been living in these districts for quite a while, and the one thing there has never been, was a moment where I could relax, once the night goes by... We''re almost finished completely fixing up the house, just use the few broken wires and wood from that spot over there to cover up that sewer" As he said that he pointed over to where there was a pile he made that was with metal wires, Broken wooden planks, and stones and debris. He has been around longer than I, so listening to him should be more helpful. I took the time to gather what I had and started on closing up this entrance. Chapter 4: Un-Node-isable It had been a few days since we had finished building whatever kind of place we had established, honestly it seemed odd that Jack would have this place rebuilt instead of just finding a good place to stay, but everytime I had asked him about it, he never really gave me a direct answer. I suppose it may be something personal but it doesn''t matter to me. After the days had passed and I had gotten used to the area and how people are, Jack kept reminding me not to get too comfortable with everything on the suface of the streets. As far as explaining he also passed me a E.I Bracer which is basically your kind of identity badge. This kind of device is used alot to get around with everything, but this one is "special" with the fact that its under the radar, its also got a specific identifyer on anything in the basic class, but everything else above it is marked as an unknown. Now I get why it would be useful, but what I don''t understand is how he got his hands on one of these. Usually everyone that is born in the system that is not identified by anything is deemed as an outcast from everything, meaning that they wouldn''t be able to buy or sell, or even live at all. I have a mark, but I haven''t seen if Jack has a mark mainly because he always wears a scarf. Maybe he''s hiding something, since the neck is the usual place where they place that mark. S . S . S "Crow, Did''ja find anything new?" Popping me out of my own world as I zoned out into the fire that had been set up as we were eating was Jack. He was elated about scavenging. "No, nothing new today, just the same old..." "Ugh... Then I guess we have to keep looking" "Can you remind me why we are looking so hard for whatever it is we are looking for?" He was eager to find something but he has never told me about it. In fact it had felt like he has been hiding things, who knows, would''nt hurt to ask. Looking at me he pulled his right hand towards my face and pointed with his showed me. "This is why.." I looked on his hand to see what it was, and it showed a burn mark that appeared like a symbol. "This sign is''sa special mark that can solve every problem! If we find something with this mark then we will be able to save and help all the other kids like us!!" His widened smile could make any mother hug him like he was a plushie, and also, that mark was a circle that had a line going down on it with horns at the tip of the top of it.If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. "Huh?? But thats stupid, the majority of this worlds problems aren''t even based on us kids.." Its only logical, some stupid childish thing like wishful thinking wouldnt even save a fish in this gigantic ocean of predators. "Thats what you believe, but just think about it... If the problems that you say aren''t based on us, then who makes these problems?" "Well thats pretty easy.. Adults and stupid people who can''t even wash their butts" Jack laughed at my remark, and I did too after hearing him laugh. "Hehehe, still, will ya help me find it, friend?" He held out his hand towards me. I looked at him, he was just a fool, like no one I have ever met, but still a fool. Yet somehow, I wanted to help him, oddly I also wanted to be his friend... Since I didn''t really have any. ...Huh? "So wha''ddaya say? Are you gon''na leave me hang''in? "Hm, maybe" I smiled curtly as I grabbed his hand. "Hahaha, then i''ll make you grab it" He grabbed even harder like he was attempting to crush it, and I did so the same. .... That day we clicked like best friends we ever could be, It was only a matter of time.. S......S......S It had taken us weeks and weeks to find it but finally we did find whatever Jack was looking for... It was a node.. Somthing like a small metalic rock that contained recorded information, I remember from somewhere that these things were no longer in use since about a century ago. This node was a small green glowing metal rock, but I am not sure if there are of other colours, or if there is of any specific different ones. During the time we had found it though, it was on the top floor''s edge of a destroyed highrise building far to the east of the 10th, Jack had the odd intuition that it''d be there. Anyways, back to the main deal, right now I have to wait for at a small abandoned and closed off house Jack since he wanted to grab a tool he had requested from a merchant he knew near here which is the 13th district. Soon enough he would be getting back, and I''m just waiting here sitting on a broken desk looking out of a window. Any time no- Interupting my thoughts, speak of the devil. it was Jack, and this time he looked like he had ran with the sweatdrops on his forehead, and with that chivalrous smile on his face it seemed like he was eager to crack open this node. "Now lets get things started" He said. S . S . S "What are you doing?! Just bashing it isn''t going to work!" Jack had already gotten real mad because it had taken us about a good 2 hours trying to figure this thing out. Even with tools like a hammer this thing hasn''t broken. "Then... What... Willl!" Every pause from his breath was a hit from the hammer to the node. Before the last hit though, I decided to stop him. "Hold it!, Let me take a look at this thing" "Bu-" "Give me a sec, you haven''t even let me get a good look at it, all you did was pick it with an old screwdriver and then a hammer" A small pause of silence, and then a sigh from him came out. "Fine..." As the node was on the ground I picked it up and looked at it. It was a round shaped ball with small hard to see lines going all over it, layering eachother lines too. However it looked like if you pressed in a certain space at the same time it would open. I Tried so and I heard a click... I waited for a moment yet nothing happened. I tried again and the same thing.. I was beginning to suspect that there was a pattern. So I kept at it for a few minutes. . . . It took a bit, and then there had been 2 clicks, then 3. Lastly after a dull 10 minutes of trial and error, I had heard something different then a click, but a ticking sound. "Okay so have you figured anything out?" "Just a second, I think I did something, I keep hearing this wierd noise" "huh? what wierd noise? Let me hear?" I held it in my hands while he listened, for a quick second of hearing it he slapped it out of my hands away from us. Not having any time to think Jack pushed me and the node exploaded... S - - - - S - - - - S It just reminds me the mistakes that had been made that day... Chapter 5: See what I See? All I could see was dark all over, I was feeling empty, but I was slowly remembering a few things.. I edged onto endless blackend space that was surrounding me... There was not a single ounce or droplet of light source, but I could see every inch of me. There was no one there, just an empty bountless space of pitched out blackness that seemed like I had been swallowed by something, but the funny thing is that I could see my body and every spot of myself. However, I did not feel alone. There was someone, or something around this void with me, I felt like it was also keeping me awake, or with feeling. Its odd but it feels like its trying to help me but it can''t do much. I could hear its voice, but couldn''t deter what or if it was actually saying something. I felt like it was screaming but with a whisper. I started to feel like I was getting pulled away slowly from the faint whispering scream from the blackened space. Soon enough, Light had shown, and I had covered myself to open my eyes. S... S... S... I had opened my eyes towards a semi-destroyed cieling that was breaking light through the room I had woken up in. I had tried to lift myself up from the soft bed I had been resting in, I had guessed that I have been asleep this whole time, but I don''t remember why I had been sleeping in the first place. The room I was in had a giant opening at the top corner which allowed the light from outside to seep in, although the room was not half bad, it had looked like it had been cleared out from what could have been the debris. A broken door, no windows, cieling was destroyed open, and there was a rug that looked new but hasn''t been cleaned in what looks like many days. It still had looked fairly clean above all. As I was slowly picking myself off from the bed I could feel pain from all over, and It hurt a lot but I still forced myself up, doing so however made the bed creak slightly from the weight of my body. ''was my body this heavy?'' I thought to myself. It was just too odd, I haven''t felt this way before. Soon enough though, I decided I would get up off this bed, but everytime I had moved I made noise, so much so that could attract a lot of attention anyone even Jack. ''Hold on... Jack? Who''s Jack?'' I pondered on the things that I had been thinking about for the past moment. All the while I had been dazed trying to figure out what the hell I was thinking about. I begin to hear footsteps coming from outside the room I am currently in. Slowly step by every step, it came closer to the broken door, and as it creaked by the front of the door it the handle was turning. upon the door opening, a familiar white haired boy with dark toned skin had appeared. It was Jack. "You''re finally awake aren''cha?" I glanced and turned my head sidways. "Finally?" "You''ve been dream''in for a while, are ya doing okay?" He had a worried expression on his face, I didn''t know if I was okay, but out of courtesy of not worrying him. "I feel like I got slapped in the face with a fish" he chuckle. "That just means yer'' alive buddy, I''m glad" Hearing him say that made me feel a bit more better than what I felt when I had woken up. "How long have I been asleep... Or rather, What happened?" For the moment that I questioned him, He creeped up closer and reached for his back pocket with his hand and pulled out a black spherical object. "Although I was waiting for you ta'' wake up, wouldn''t be sure if you would remember" Reeling it up to my face with his hand, He frowned. "Its Busted" I took a look at what he was trying to show me, and it was a node, looked fine but obscure, like something I had never seen. This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there. At this moment It had all clicked to me, and I had remembered what had happened. "If you remember what happened or not, this node was a trap, how we even found it was an amazing discovery, things like these don''t come around so often, bu~t" Pulling it back from me, he moved it around and clicked on small fissures of the node with ease and accuracy. It was like he had been playing with it while I was out of the count for a while. "After that explosion happened, this stupid thing reset, I''m not sure what happened but it just changed colour and opening it just does nothing" He flickered with it over and over but nothing happened, the node didn''t have its shine like it did when we had found it. Thinking back on what happened I wondered how Jack took the force of the explosion and still seemed in better condition than I was. "Well, with this, we''ve got to keep looking around for that stuff, theres always stuff in the old decrepit zones that people left" Jack looked off, but he still sounded determined about finding it to help those other kids. "Still, Before we do that, we have to take measures to care about ourselves, How can we help others if we can''t help ourselves" While in bed and saying this, I thought Jack could understand... However. "Hahahaha, ya'' sound like a nerd" He laughed while pointing at me. "whaaa?? Who are you calling a nerd?? You''re the one who knows more about me of these streets than anyone else!" I wasn''t mad but.. Okay maybe I was. "Anyways nerd, c''mon, lets go get something ta'' eat, you''ve slept for two days" Two whole days? Thats a lot for a kid like me to recover from, I never expected this body to be so fragile. I tried getting up from the bed by myself, but with this much weight, it was difficult. Jack, grabbed my arm and pulled it over his sholder. "Here lemme help" Without any hesitation, my friend lifted me up, although he can tell how heavy it was, he still smiled and was willing to help me. I don''t know how or why, but I could never have a better friend than Jack. S... S... S... When I had asked jack how he was able to get me from the surface into the sewers and into the mansion, he declared that hes the strongest in the world. I can''t go wrong with that. Once we reached the living room, the whole place was different from how destroyed it was in the first few times I had seen it. Not a single piece of dirt or rubble in sight, the only thing was a few of the destroyed parts that it had. "Jack, I think you''ve outdone yourself with just these few days" Jack laughed and looked around. "Can''t stop now though, theres still alot to do". The Windows had been boarded up quite well, and there had been a lot of fix ups to the whole body of the stairs as well as the gigantic carpet that had been strewn about in the whole place. There were many things left unmentioned but i decided not to dwell on those side of things for now. He helped me down onto a chair that he had made purely out of scrap metals, and pipes, he also used a ton of rags on the edges as to not cut ourselves. I never thought for him to be the thinker, but maybe hes more than meets the eye. "Ill bring some stuff I got earlier from the marketplaces on the surface" "Okay, Ill stay here for a bit to get a better hold of my body" Watching him leave, I noticed something. I can feel something screaming... But I can''t hear it.... S... S... S... (Small Sidestory) Upon entering a facility, A well dressed Man in a luxurious automobility vehicle is denied entrance. With his window rolled down, and speaking to a unknown controlled machine, he makes a strong stance with his words. The red light indicated by the Machine can easily allow or deny the entrance to the man because of his rejected E.I. Bracer. "Are you Kidding me? Please call the head office, there is something wrong with this thing again as always" "Yes Sir, we will address to the problem immediately, please excuse us" As the minutes fly by, soon enough, the man controlling the machine profusely apologizes and the red light by given order changes from red to green. Inside this Military Facility, experiments are made, each and everyone of them given a Grade Level from Number ranging 10 to 1. Each level Controlled with corresponding units, and as the man passes by them, His Bracer holds his name. Corvonts Ales. He is the 2nd of the 11th District Channelers in the whole City of Neocrelus, and possibly one of the more active ones than that of the other 11th. His main reputation perceeds his acts and deeds as he continues to rule out the many factors which makes the districts forwardly drive. However, upon walking into this facility he enters a room that has only 2 scientists studying and analyzing a specific individual in a giant glass water-filled chamber. "Marshall" The Assistant Scientist turning his head before the head scientist primarily named Marshal. "What do you want, you idiot, didn''t I tell you that I won''t be finishing anything anytime soon" Briefly turning his head to glance at Corvonts, Marshall went back to his analysis "Don''t worry Marshall, I only came to say hi for a small tea break with you" Grunting, Marshall stopped and walked over to the other end of the room. Stopping without turning his head or body around he spoke. "Lucas, keep an eye on her and read the waves, I don''t think it should be difficult for you at this point" Slightly glancing, with a stern look to Corvonts. "Come, lets chat" S.S.S. Leading Corvonts into a short hallway into a small breakroom with a luxurious table, small couch and small kitchen on the side, Marshall with ettiquet and composure, allows Corvonts into the breakroom. Unhesitantly, Corvonts tips his head forwards thanking his gesture, and walks in to have a seat on the small couch. Closing the door behind himself, the very composed Marshall very quickly shifts and jumps on the couch. "what the hell do you want ya'' old geezer, haven''cha had enough of torturing me with all these projects and foolish experiments" Normally this would astonish many people, but as Corvonts and Marshall had worked for years together, they knew eachother inside and out. "Ah shut it!, you owe me for the last time I tried to get my wife''s friend to go out with you but you never left this hole in your life" With his rough voice, bieng his familiar tone rather than his Composed straighthanded voice, he had an unkempt accent he let out accidentally whenever he was with Marshall. In Comparison to both, none was only but a month of birthdates apart, Corvonts bieng one month older than Marshall. "Well anyways, I''ve already finished with Seven, and she has recognition of what she is, but not who, I feel like it has changed even the way she acts when she was little, but its better than nothing. Do we really have to call her by that name though?" "I know its asking for a lot, but this is only for the better my dear friend" Smiling towards Marshall, Corvonts thanked him. "I see, Would you like to hear about the boy though?" "Oh jeez, What did he do now" Marshall sat upright and edged on the small couch rather quickly to speak. "well, hes got some spark, but in a matter of years......." S..... S..... S..... Chapter 6: I Can hear it.. I cant see it. S-S-S The droplets of tears were falling from the eyes of a little girl, like she was held back from her freedom. Inside a room, there had been three other individuals that had held her captive while they had been smoking and drinking casually without speaking. The girl could not do anything to liberate her self from these 3 people. As they were criminals and had plans to steal, sell, and possibly get whatever they could to their own hands. However, the girl did not know what to do, sitting on the corner at the end of this small apartment room they had been only held her from her will. "Look, if we don''t get anything from this girl we should just kill her and get it over with" Said one of the three. "But that fucker won''t do anything, because of how "scared" he is, see? This is what happens when you push too much Ray" Said another with a hard accent. What had recently occured is that this trio of misfits had stumbled upon a girl that had worth value to a family of the higher districts in the more wealthier states. The thinker of this small group, Ray, thought that they would take the girl, and hold her hostage, without even knowing a thing about how it would go. Word would soon travel in the streets of the10th district, even past and before as there is a saying that always goes like this: ''these streets talk, and sometimes its best not to hear them speak''. The girl they had abducted was a little girl around the age of 11. On that day the girl had decided to leave her own district to explore but had gotten stuck behind a convoy and had fallen off the end-zones of the district grids. Those end-zones traverse towards the outerlayers of the cities into different channels that pass through the lowered depths of the system, for her to even be at the 10th district is pure luck. For anyone to fall through those zones can get lost, and maybe even killed without warning. She had looked towards the three each selectively for brief amounts of time, shaking and cold. She was not restrained, the room was too closed off to even move without the trio in front of her. The only thing that looked open was the window sill. This room was dark, and although it was raining outside would make things even darker were it not for the light of the candle that was on the coffe table along with a telephone in front of the red couch. The walls of the apartment had been dirty, and the floor was hardwood, it was seldom ever cleaned. These three individuals were just in the job for the money. One seated in a wooden chair close to the closed apartment door. Another on a broken red stained couch, could possibly be blood or anything else. And the third with his back against the wall. Although the other two had no selective purpose, Ray however had a different objective to this. He never wanted the money. He wanted to change something, although he wasn''t sure why he even agreed to this, he still decided to join in. Ray looked outside through the tiny crack in the small window sil that was in the room. The sound of rain was soft but loud. He felt the nostalgia from the sound and closed his eyes, but he could also hear the whimper cries of the girl. Much like the ones he used to have when he was younger. He felt sorry, and wished this world was different, but nothing will ever change. upon slightly opening his eyes again, the ring of a nearby telephone had gone off. It was the corded telephone on the coffee table. The one laying down on the couch moved and sat up towards the phone anxiously. Hovering his hand over the ringing phone he then grabbed the head of the corded phone and reeled it close to his ear. "So, deal or no deal?" with a sweat droplet sliding from his forehead slowly, this slightly bearded man was the one that offered Ray the job. A small voice tone could be heard from the phone but it was hard to deter what exactly was bieng said. "Very well, but you better not change anything, you have to keep your end of the bargain" The slightly bearded man''srough voice echoed throughout the room as it had Ray and the other one on the seat edged towards the phone. The little girl watched helplessly with teary eyes, however, upon looking up behind both the other two with his back arched against the wall, Ray and the little girls eyes met. As they spoke on, Ray was on the move. With his mouth, he spelled out words trying not to attract the attention of the other two, not very sure if she would understand. But as the girl copied him hesistantly, she held a small confused expression, and slighlty nodded. Pushing his back off from the wall, he stumbled and fell towards the hardwood floor with a loud thump. "Ow" This caught the attention of both the other two men that were in the room paying close attention to the phone rather than the girl. This novel''s true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there. "You idiot, stay back there" Whispered the bearded one. Quickly though he gauged back his attention to the phone. "Uh... Sorry Helck" After his apology he got up in a very odd manner, but moved as if it was natural, and once again stood up, the other two shifted their attention back onto the phone attentively. Ray once again, glanced back at the girl. Spelling out the word down, and moving his eyes toward the floor, there had been a small object under the coffee table that was not there before. When the girl understood, her eyes had pinpointed onto the coffee table, however with a few more seconds, she would see it then. It was a key, and what could be the key to the apartments main door. After noticing it, she glanced back at Ray, He was not looking back like he would have though. He was Arched onto the wall and staring out the windowsil again. Ray was smiling with eyes that were calm. It was like as if he was saying ''I will get you your freedom'' Without him even saying it. With a few moments left to spare on the phone, Helck, the slightly bearded man had was finally ending the call. "All right, well then, keep in touch ah... Mister Corvonts was it?" Helck cracked up a crooked chuckle, he only needed time before it would all begin. S...S...S...

I woke up on my bed again, yesterday me and Jack talked about what we were going to do next to see if we could help those kids. I have no honest idea about why I am agreeing to do this, I personally believe its a waste of time. Speaking as a kid I only know what I need to. I didn''t know why though, but my body feels as light as a feather today. I''m feeling kind of great in terms of condition. I sat up from the bed that I again had been resting in, I moved one leg after another, and took a step on the ground. The floor rug was cold as much as it was comfortable to the feet. I also noticed that my clothes weren''t that great. I was wearing slacks, a button up shirt and under it I was wearing a black t-shirt. But the clothes I was wearing was dirty, and smelled. I either needed to wash them, or needed to get a new set of clothing. I wanted to know where Jack got his clothes from, I was thinking it would be the market, I guess he would need to show me around. I left the room and went to the living room. The halls of this mansion were pretty neat, apart from bieng destroyed and abandoned. Makes me wonder how something like this fell from the surface into the sewers. In fact I have never really thought about that in the first place when I came, it just didn''t seem so important at the time to me I guess. As I was walking closer to my destination, I was beginning to hear humming from a familiar voice. A door at the end of where I was headed barely creaked open and the humming sounded like it was Jack. I pushed the door forward and it had let out a wooden creaking noise. I didn''t think it would startle Jack, he had stopped humming the second I made that noise, I saw him sitting by himself on the couch with a book open in his hand. He had been writing something. The book in his hands though looked as if it was a small handmade notebook. It was in tatters but still looked to serve its use as a notebook. "hey, morning" He said. He quickly put down the book, and grabbed something that looked like a ruffled up black linen blanket. He pulled it over himself. "Look at this, I was thinking we could use these today". I looked at what he was trying to show me and I guess it was a sort of cloak, or hoodie for us to cover ourselves. "Today we will be ascending to the Birchten marketplace, we need to look for a few things to buy". We were only kids. What the hell would kids be buying in a marketplace? And with what money? I thought that to myself but it was interesting at what he was saying. I looked at what he had though, a cloak? Why would we ever need a cloak? "Here''s yours, I have a feelin'' you''d be askin'' me what th'' cloak is for, but don''t worry, you''ll understand soon enough" He had a smile to his face whilist handing me that black linen cloak. I was suprised but still I wanted to see for myself completely about what this specific marketplace was really about. S.S.S Rain poured, and the scent of metal and dirt filled my nostrils, the taste of the air was clear. This was Birchten Marketplace of the 10th district. I could see people hiding their faces and covering themselves with cloaks too, but not for the rain. It was to hide their faces from anyone who could pose danger. On the way here though, there were rules that Jack told me to follow, since we were a slight bit far from where we slept or lived. I don''t even know where Jack gets his money or where he gets all this food. Everytime I ask he always responds with something stupid or just has a very declarative response. Either he hides something or he just really does as he says. There were people who were tall, big, Small, some of those people didn''t have cloaks, there were also some who were drunk or others who were just disparent, but one thing is for sure that no one stood on the streets. No one sat around, no one stayed except for those who were the ones selling the good stuff. There were also billboards up. Electronic displays showing fancy words. They had shown gagets and many other gizmos. Stores that bartered with there customers furiously and those that just walked around showing others their wares. This marketplace was something else compared to the one on the regulatory street that we would usually see above from where we lived. I kept an eye around me, making sure no one would try to surround us or whatever, but Jack didn''t care. It was as if he knew what these streets were made of. I recall him telling me something of the sort: "If you act like your from there, you lose attraction from the many living there, they won''t care as long as you don''t care" That bieng said, I still felt off. I looked around for a bit while trailing behind Jack. I caught my eyes on a girl that was walking with other three people. This girl. Her eyes seemed like she was empty. Something also seemed wrong it didn''t look like she was able to leave. Upon closer inspection, it was like she was chained to one of the three that were in a group alltogether. It was hard to see from all this pouring rain, but she was covered in a dark red ragged cloak that looked like it was damaged. The other three people with her wore street clothing, one of them had a mantle with a hoodie to cover his face. The other wore a long coat that had no sleeves on it. and the third just had a leather jacket. One of them had a beard. And that didn''t seem like the girl was with them for any good purpose from what I thought or could see. "Jack" I called out his name from behind him, and he stopped turned around to face me to hear about what I was going to say. "Look..." I pointed in the direction that the three people and the girl could be seen at. "what... Whats wrong?" He was confused as to what I wanted to say. "I don''t feel right about that.... Is there anything we can do?" Jack looked at me profoundly, and briefly glanced back at those select individuals. They seemed like they were bartering with a few others. Jack seemed like he had noticed at this point, and had turned to face me. "We can try to help her out, but its still too dangerous, remember what you said?" ''How can we help others out if we can''t even help ourselves out?'' I recalled what I said exactly from the time I had woken up before. He had a point but I couldn''t help myself. Oddly I had a strong desire to help her but I had no Idea why. Still. Its only a matter of time before they leave.. right? "Come on, we have a lot to do", Jack grabbed me by the arm and dragged me with him. S... S... S... Chapter 7: Holding A small few seconds. Her eyes were red, they gleamed clearly even in this pouring rain. The girl was gazing off into the distance of the rainy marketplace. Although they were a few ways from where we were, Jack still needed to do what he had to. Did I want to go and help her, but alone? I grabbed onto the robes that I had been wearing, although they were a bit wet from the rain, the rest kept me dry as I was wearing it in layers. How would I ever even think about helping anyone alone? I barely even know the streets as a matter of fact, and I''ve only been around for a while. There again I still questioned after myself. Would I be able to? I closed my eyes, in a form of calming my thoughts, I felt that if I had to keep thinking it would only overstress my mind and I would eventually get nowhere. ''You can... if you wanted to....'' Upon those words uttered in my own head, I flinched. The vibration from hearing it made me shudder, not because it was a distinct voice I have never heard, but because even the smallest amount of even being able to hear something, with no one around, makes me think I''d be going insane. What I had heard though, sounded coarse, and low. In fact, it seemed like it wasn''t a voice but just a sound in a specific fashion allowing me to hear it in words. I felt too unsure about all this coming at once, but as I slowly started to come to the now that I am I began to notice that I had lost Jack. He went ahead of me, and I was supposed to be trailing behind him, I guess thinking too much just got the better of me in this situation I thought about going into the stores, but then I found a problem that would arise if I did. Like if I fled into the stores one by one to see if he was inside, and there are some stalls around too. However, if I did go around like that and I miss him on the street, then what? Should I go back to the mansion? But then do I even remember the way back there? Thoughts of solutions and then problems overpowering those actions soon enough bagged me, I eventually just came to a halt with all this thinking. Even If people considered me smart or if I had the smarts, decisions or choices made rely on the total outcome of the situation, everyone knows that, if I get lost here? Anything, can or will happen. I looked at my E.I. Bracer and thought to myself. ''if he knew how to use this thing, and I got lost, could he find me?'' That guy probably would. Saying that put a slight smile to my face. Yeah, thinking back at it, he would. I glanced around just once more, this time, I noticed that the three guys with that one girl were on the move. I had to come up to a decision. I wanted to help the girl, but if I did, I will definitely run the risk of getting lost in this city. Because who knows what can happen to a kid like me, right? Still though. If I help her, then what? ''Go. Ahead.'' S... S... S... In the midst of the rainy, cloudy day. A loud and pressing boom had burst in the wake of an alarm that had already been going off for some time in a facility. Glancing back towards a destroyed and detached building, this was the Military State establishment that had been run by the well-known scientist that goes by the casual name of Marshall. Just Marshall. Suddenly, upon the clearing of smoke, a pale-skinned boy, with spiked out hair, turquoise eyes, and an unholy smile had Loomed from it. "Finally, Freedom," he said. But as he was just about to head off, a very aggressive Marshall had trailed quickly after him. "You brat! You either get back here, or I''ll make you wash the dispenser for a week" Snarled Marshall. His white coat fluttered by the wind. "Sorry, but I didn''t have my breakfast the way I wanted today, I wanted the glory of being able to see the light again, not lashes, or the fun time punishments we would gladly have" A chuckle that could only give chills emanated from the chaotic boy. Marshall had a discontented expression plastered onto his face. He wanted him to calm down, but to the efforts that he had always tried nothing ever seemed to work, and it felt like it was only a few days since they brought him in. "That was no way to treat the others though, and you know it, I know you can be bett-" "I don''t want to hear it!" The boy snarled. He glared at Marshall with hostility and anger. His eyes were filled with longing wrath that had appeared like he would blow up everything to pieces. He clenched his fists, and gritted his teeth, his gaze was completely pinpointing Marshall. The boy standing before Marshall in a wrathful manner was known very well as Zero in this establishment. He was considered a very "Special" boy. "Zero," repeated Marshall with a clear and confident voice. He was about to speak again, he opened his mouth, but after a few seconds, he had closed it again. He then put his hand in his pockets. Marshall had given it some thought, but eventually, it would be the only way to stop this. "You know what this means right? This has been the third time, I can''t allow this to continue happening any longer Zero" Zero still said nothing, but he rose his hand up and held his open palm towards him. "Unless you want to die, similarly just like that stupid girl almost did, then by all means.." His smile widened then again but cracked up more twisted than before. "Try me"This story is posted elsewhere by the author. Help them out by reading the authentic version. Marshall did not move an inch. But still held the same frustrated expression. With no surprise to the matter at hand Marshall still kept his ground. "Ya'' know, You can leave now, but they will be after you the second you leave, and you don''t know a single thing about that world out there" Attempting to convince him to stay, luck this time around, was not on Marshall''s side. The old Scientist had rummaged through his pockets and pulled something out of his pockets smoothly and swiftly. Without even a warning, the scheming Zero had launched an attack, and a whole burst of wind pressure had bolted past the Scientist in an amazing few seconds. With the attack, the smoke that had arisen from the facility because of the bomb had diminished, and finally, the rain had stopped pouring. Stretching his neck, Marshall''s lackluster movement showed that he was tired of this whole situation and finally gave up. "Kid, yer'' really starting to piss me off" he voiced out. Rought toned, Marshall began to change his choices of actions. In his hands, he took out a pack of cigarettes and a lighter. While covering up a lighter with his hands and lighting up a smoke, then putting away the pack of cigarettes and lighter back into his pockets, His Gaze had shifted onto Zero. "If it doesn''t go right, it has to go left" Calmly speaking, With one puff of smoke, He stepped forward. S...S...S... "So that''s it huh?" In these vendors palms, he held paper money that held a certain value."What do you mean that''s it? I gave you what you asked for" "And still the same problem with the same E.I Bracer?" Asked the vendor questioningly. "Yes," Said Helck. "Very well, let me have a look at it, I''m hoping its not the model unless it would be problematic" This small group had left the apartment room they had held the girl as a hostage in. This was Helck''s little hostage group. Although unfortunate was the moment had where Helcks E.I Bracer had been malfunctioning, fortunate was that moment of where Jay had gotten away from what he was plotting. The three that were back in the room had been figuring out how they would do the whole ordeal. It all happened when there had been a "Bzzt" sound of the fizzling E.I bracer, plainly indicating that the old machine was having a power supply issue. And as the three had no way of communicating with the specific people to help aid them in the hostage takeover plan that they had summed up, the three had to go out to one of the vendors that could help them. These vendors usually charge for the specific versatial volt or sytopial Colt, But among the vendors out on Birchten Marketplace, the old Paper cash would do the trick to satisfy them, since out on the edge of the districts many people use money as the currency around there, not many people have economic gains there, and E.I. Benefits don''t exist for them either. With the fact Jay hadn''t much to do, he had offered the other two to keep watch of the girl, and them knowing that the girl can''t be watched by all of them agreed. Jay had a plan to let this girl loose because he wasn''t the type to see this and let it slip by. Jay was just a regular guy looking for work anywhere there was, however, unlike the many, his ties to other places make him more than exceptional, but his justifying characteristics are what make him Jay. Alas while the other two were looking around at other stuff while it was going to take a bit for the vendor to figure out the problem with Helcks E.I Bracer, Jay decided to go to a certain spot to shield the girl from the rain under a shade sail that covered over a majority of small vendors out on the side streets. The girl was slightly shivering she was gazing off into the sky though not really paying attention to anything, were it not for the mantle that she had on, she would be freezing. Jay looked around to see if there was anyone around close enough to possibly listen into what he was to say. Only a few people were around, not close enough to hear him, and Helck and the other guy were just looking around for other stuff in the market, killing time just for the vendor. Jay glanced back and forth from the girl and to the streets trying to clear the view of anyone incoming. Upon considering that it was all clear, he tried speaking to the girl. He knelt down closer to the girl, but the girl absentmindedly watched the sky as the rain kept pouring down. "Hey there" He spoke with a soft voice, as to not scare the girl in any form. However, flinching, the girl heard his voice and took her out of her spaced out mood from looking at the sky. Anxiously, the girl turned around, her eyes were a bright red, and reflected the light sources coming from the banners within this small area. "So... Tell me, what is your name?" To her face, a smiling Jay had greeted her. That girl didn''t speak, she grabbed his hand and wrote characters slowly so that he could understand what she was trying to do. It appeared to him that she couldn''t speak. When Jay understood what she was putting together with her gestures, he voices out her name. "Ruby?" Questioningly speaking, his deference towards her because although she couldn''t speak she still was able to tell him. She has either lost her voice, has had problems with her own throat, or other reasons could be that she couldn''t speak in any form or way. Taking a watch of the area yet again, he continued. "That key I gave you, was not the key for the apartment, but the key for these shackles that they used to chain you up with me, but when I tell you, you will use the key to unlock these shackles and run". Jay, of course, had thought of a plan beforehand, he didn''t trust Helck to give the girl back easily. Knowing the aggressive attitude that he knew Helck had towards the government and many of those with the money, of course, he wouldn''t. So Jay had pondered on a solution ever since, and quite the thinker that he is, he found his end plan. "I will signal you when to use it with my hands, and when the time comes, I will yawn just like this, understand?" As he said, he acted out what he had told the girl in that manner, with his arms pulling up over his head. He smiled and nodded once to see if the girl had understood or comprehended what exactly he meant, and to no surprise, the girl followed with a small smile and a nod. The hoodie she wore shook with her small nodding. However, without noticing, Helck was coming to them with his a different E.I bracer then that of what he had. Helck in his own time though asked the vendor to instead of repairing the old E.I. Bracer, to give him a new one with all the transferred information. Knowing the repairs would take longer of course. Upon approaching with the other unnamed individual in the group, both noticed Jay speaking with the girl. Helck, as he came closer, he saw what had happened, and he was not happy. "Hey, what the hell do you think you are doing? I thought you only agreed to take the girl just to watch her, not to keep her company" He glared at Jay, thinking any little detail could derail the whole situation. If the hostage learns of any of them, and she gets away or if something happens, the risk would be involved. Helck would have done anything to avoid attention, and greatly from the man he had made a deal with. Seeing as how he would have been caught Jay had let no single expression leak from his face. "Helck, I got some information, more than you could think, I was able to get this brat to speak" with an immediate change of attitude, Jay responded in with vice and avaricious means. He looked at Helck with pride and confidence, giving Helck a smile like no other person. A wicked aura raised Helcks awareness and rattled the atmosphere for more than a few seconds on the specific matter at hand. Helck saw this, and it almost gave him goosebumps on his forearms. Reeling closer to Helck closer to his ear, he whispered something. Details that only made the eyes of Helck widen. Plastering slowly onto his face was a smile, of glee and gain. Jay knew how the mind of this man worked and made it work for himself. A schemer like no other had finally stepped up. A plan was in play, the first step had only just begun. The plan he held in his hands had a much bigger meaning, but soon enough time would only tell of what would happen. Taken aback from the statements that Jay had instilled in the mind of Helck, he turned around. and walked on with a smile. "Come on then, let''s get going, we have a feast to get to" With a smile on his face, and swift steps, Helck lead the group on, while behind him trailed the group and jay with the girl as the last. The girl confused at the change of action Helck had displayed had looked at Jay in bewilderment of what he had caused. And with a quick glance from jay, he put his index finger on his lips with a small smile. Watching back at the smiling jay, she copied and smiled with bare teeth. S.S.S Chapter 8: Elevate. In the aftermath of the rain, led to a thick fog that had slightly covered the atmosphere in the streets. The Humid smell of gravel and metal that meshed together because of the rain only followed you everywhere you went in the fog. I didn''t think much of it myself. I was following this small group of 3 into alleys and different places, I was trying to take a good look at certain objects that I knew I would remember. There were small shops within alleys and garbage bins, crevices that broke the walls crumbling from abandoned apartments, it was amazing to see, this whole city was a maze within a maze of itself. But apart from that, these three guys weren''t going too fast, it was enough for me to catch up with regular walking speed. They spoke and sometimes I would hear the cackling of one of them, the tone of his voice would reverberate off the walls making an echo through the alleys. I kept my distance, but the off chance that one of them knows that I am following them could seem pretty bad. However, at the end of an alleyway which they were headed, had an opening that was covered with a dark saturated green drape. And on the wall, was a sign, that was a stop sign cut in half. In there, I could hear voices, people speaking. I could hear music just slightly from where I am. And btw I am just hiding right behind a ledge of a wall that crosses with another alley leading to the main street. As this gang of individuals get closer to whatever it is, I suppose it''s an entrance. One Burly man comes out of the fray. He had a tattoo over his head that was a star with a slash in the middle. He had spoken to them, greeted them from what I can see, and then they all walked in. ''Follow them'' Words again had resounded in my ears. I was pretty sure there was no one around me at this moment. Who is speaking and how? Asking again, am I going loco or am I telepathic? Within a myriad of things to say too, but looking back to the alley end, I refocused on the main thing. So, basically, My trail of following them leads me to a hideout, or a bar, or something of the sort, I doubt anyone would care if they have a girl, but they were greeted by a burly man. I was speculating if this was a bar or something else. However, judging from the look of the guy, he had a tattoo, maybe it poses some significance, but there''s a chance it doesn''t mean anything. I will take the latter though. I held myself back from going, my curiosity just grew and grew more. At the prime of my decision though, I decided I would try to slip in, but I would have to make some sort of distraction to get the guy to come outside. Or I get inside and try my luck figuring out what to do. I took a step forward, but I heard someone from behind. Before I could even turn around to look at who was behind me or even make any movements whatsoever, someone had gripped my shoulder hard.If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation. "Look at what we''ve got here" I turned my head to look at the person grabbing me. And it was a hooded man, however, looking closely, I was able to see that he had the same symbol as the burly man. A star with a slash going down diagonally. I wanted to make a move but the second I did, he had a knife held towards my gut, and with a snarky smile, he spoke. "Make a move, and you''re dead, you''d best listen and come with me" S..... S..... S......... A blast of wind followed by a flurry of gunshots had vibrated off into the distance of the nearby facilities that had been held up in the 2nd district. On opposite ends were both the chaotic Zero and the doctor, Marshal. "Hey, you''re not tired yet are you?" Chuckled Marshal, although it has been short, Marshal was aiming to tire the boy out than rather have him get killed, this boy was no more special to him than a mother to a child. However, this rebellious child could not be calmed. Zero vowed at the moment he had planned this little breakout that he will never succumb again to this doctor or facility. Zero wanted his freedom, and he wanted it so. However, as unfortunate it may be, there is a limit to his capability, and Marshal was well aware of that. Zero, on the other hand, had not a single desire to stop, his will was to continue forward. Within odds, Zero looked at his hands, a little battered through the overuse of his own abilities, but he knew his strength better than anyone. It was his, and his it would stay. With no hesitation, and no response, to the question Marshal had made, he glared back at Marshal with eyes that pierced through metal, like thin sharp needles. Zero had held up his right arm again, with a straight open palm facing this doctor, a burst of wind pressure followed. The amount of pressure was enough to blow back the arms of the boy, but his stance never faltered. And the doctor, however old he may be, this coot was swift and quick with movement. It shows the years of experience having to deal with many similar problems, but not all his moves were perfect. When shooting, his aim was unfortunately extremely poor. Trying to aim the handgun as he had only given him veins popping out of his forehead. It only made him swear at the top of his lungs during battle. Yet as he was facing this specific boy, getting close to him is a no-no. Another burst of wind pushed back the boy again, staggering him a bit, soon as there was enough time the doctor had aimed the pistol and shot a repetitive 6 times in succession, but not one shot could be landed, and had hit one of the windows and a lamp post. "Goddammit!, this stupid thing!" With anger Marshal rose his voice. Without warning, another blast of wind pressure had been shot from Zero''s palms. Marshal had dodge-rolled within the nick of time. Marshal had looked around to see if there was any other way to get back at Zero, he had seen a piece of rebar, the old doctor had immediately aimed for it but, there was no more wind pressure. A few more seconds had passed. And silence had arrived. Marshal stood there standing with a grimaced expression, he was looking at Zero, who had collapsed to the ground. Marshal could see him taking deep breaths, he suspected that the boy was exhausted by the excessive use of waves. Waiting a bit longer, Marshal then decided that he would go towards the boy. As soon as he got closer to the boy he knelt down to see the condition of the boy. "well.. I didn''t expect you to last this long with using the waves" Marshal reached out on Zero to check his pulse first with his two fingers, but before even touching him, he had felt a gun to his back. "Marshal, don''t move" It was the voice of a little girl. "And as always, you follow along, don''t you Seven?" With a twist in his hands, he turned his body quicker than anyone would expect, and he had grabbed the gun with ease, he knocked out Seven, the doctor grabbed her by the neck before her limp legs would even bend. "Jeez, kids these days" Laying Seven onto the ground slowly, he got up and turned around. Zero was standing, And he was fuming with both arms out palms facing the doctor. Heavily breathing, Zero had stood, staggering a bit his arms were both raised and aimed at Marshal. Just out of breath, his gaze was powerful and his stare was welling up with anger that set the atmosphere on fire. Marshal in surprise only just noticed but really slightly froze in the spotlight. And without a single second lost, an even more powerful blast than before had erupted from his palms towards Marshal, blowing him away with an impacting woosh of air pressure. S.....S.....S..... Chapter 9: Lending Oddities. I could smell the residue of the sweat and the grime on the surface of the floor. The humid and cold air resonated with the callous atmosphere within the place. The air lingered with dust and filled the ambiance. I had only just opened my eyes, waking up to find myself laying on the cold hard concrete bed that had only a ragged blanket. Where was I? What is this place? I looked around, it was dark but there was a dim light outside from steel-framed doors that only had a small open window. A few more seconds of snooping around and it finally clicked in my head. This place was a cell. I was surprised for a few seconds, but slowly everything started to come back to me, my memories, although a bit snuffed I did feel sluggish from waking up. I also did remember seeing someone and then immediately blacking out. Alright, so then I am imprisoned in a cell in an unknown area, for who knows how long, there were no windows in which I could never tell the time of day, and I feel like I have been here for rather a good few hours. The only things I had on me were my pendant and my E.I bracer that happens to be broken for some sort of reason. However, as I got up I started to hear voices emanating from outside the room. I was feeling scared but at the same time, I felt indifferent to it. All in all, there was no need to waste energy, How could I get out of this room? Complete concrete from top to bottom, steel-framed doors, and a concrete bed with a shitty blanket, there wasn''t even light inside this prison cell. "Well looks like we are in a pickle" I froze, I had not seen anyone in this room but I could hear a lady-like voice close to my ears. Not wanting to make any sudden moves I gradually turned my head slowly. Glancing behind me, I could see a figure covered in darkness, it was a darkness that loomed over everything in the room. It was beautiful, and completely mortifying at the same time. As I kept gazing back towards this figure, its face had shown, it had the face of an extremely gorgeous woman, with a steel-cold stare, and red blazing eyes. She was floating in the air, and her body had emitted a black glow that created rifts and ripples in the air.Even her hair was similar to tentacles that reached the further parts of the room willingly.Reading on Amazon or a pirate site? "Hello there sweetheart, looks like we meet at last" Her tone of voice harmonized, It made me wonder if I was going crazy. "w-who.. are you?" She had closed in upon my face and glared brilliantly with a devilish smile like she had struck gold. "My Full name is Amaranth, but you can call me Mara, what may yours be?" I was cautious around her, but I couldn''t be unpolite. "My name is Crow" As I gave her my name, she gave me a slightly questionable expression, first, it had seemed like a scowl but ir then had looked like one of wonder, and curiosity. "I may take it that is not your real name?" "I don''t really remember my real name, and whenever I try, my head begins to hurt" Smiling wryly she continued, "Oh, I see, well then" She had moved closer to my ear and whispered. "I can help you get out, only if, you allow me to, however, I want to make a deal, what do you think?" Allow her to? I don''t understand, but I figure she wants to cut a deal, and if so, I don''t think I have much to give, but she wouldn''t cut a deal knowing I wouldn''t so then why not I just say that I don''t mind? "A deal huh? I don''t think I have much to give at the moment, I guess I allow you to help me" With that being said, she pulled back. A wicked smile had struck her face sharp teeth, eyes that burned a crimson red stared straight into mines. Within a fracture of a second, she had disappeared. Oddly right after, my vision was starting to blur a bit... What''s going...... I don''t feel so... gooh - - S - S - S Disturbed from the odd rummaging at night. Ruby had been woken up from her sleep in a room that had a barred wooden door. She had heard that there were others who were trying to get inside this hideout, but sadly that one person seemed to have failed, as Ruby had heard the stammering chats of the many that passed through the door. Earlier she remembered that Jay was planning on something, however, she could only wait. Behind this door, there was nothing she could do but look around or watch. She decided to snoop around the room. It was a large empty room with a small window, however, the window was high up, and there was an empty crate in the room. Thinking that there was definitely no way these gangsters wouldn''t think anyone would leave this crate in the room until she walked closer to it, she could smell the saturated reeking smell of human feces. ''ah, that''s why they had it here'' She thought. However, upon analyzing the crate a little more closely, it could still be of use if she were to move it and butt the chair on top yet it was a risk. She either falls into the grueling atrocity of human feces or if she were to get caught... She wouldn''t want to move, but at the same time, waiting for something that can go wrong, will go wrong. In most cases. (A/N: heh.) Once looking at the form of which way she could stack the chair up, the only thing left was wondering if she could fit through the window and if there was anything outside of the window anyways. As a start she had moved the crate with care and ease, ignoring the pungent smell emitted by it, thereafter moving the chair and carefully stacking it up. She noticed the legs of the chair which were now facing up were ricketty, able to be torn off. This had given her an idea of the sort as she glances down at the robes she was wearing. Thinking about how she would get through would be a bit hard but as the wood was not the strongest thing unless if it is smaller, it won''t break as easily, and with that in mind she had wrapped the hoodie of the robe onto the middle of the chair leg that she had pulled out not too long ago. Once she had finished tying up the ends, she had grabbed the stick and attempted to throw the stick through the bars of the window, of course with the first few tries there was no wind, but just as Ruby was to give in to failure, an odd stroke of luck had appeared in the form of an earthquake. S... S ... S... Chapter 10: Pulse ride The Loud boom trailed in the night sky as the dust fell from the skies. A resonating sound pulsed throughout the 10th, 11th, and 12th, districts, the skies, however, gleamed a strong red with a purple hue. Many people have witnessed the moment take place as the sky was shattered and the clouds had erupted into a storm. The clock had started to run and tick. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I was surrounded in at thick, deep darkness that had corroded everything around me. It was sensitive but soothing, whenever I tried to move or push about, the darkness would tell me that it was okay. I felt the coldness yet I could also feel the heat coming from its core, It was hatred. I tried to speak to it, but nothing came out of my voice, however, once I tried saying something with my thoughts, It had responded. "Who''s there?" She said. The void and solitude of space that was around us had layered our voices... It resonated and felt alive. I wanted to reach out. I was cautious, but not scared. I spoke to it and thought out to it. ''I am here'' I spoke. I felt the raving connection between her voice and mine, we were aligned but it was something out of the ordinary, I had no idea what to think of this but it felt like second nature when it hit me. I could hear her gasp so slightly like she was surprised she had found me, or that there was someone here, to begin with. There was a deep lingering silence that sounded heavy, it was pressuring and dense, but I wanted to ask something, I needed to, with all that being said I could not just keep quiet about it. ''What is this place?'' I looked around and this place was like closing your eyes and seeing stars, it was interesting, It felt alive. She didn''t say anything for a short while, however it sounded like everything was out of the option, either way, I figured and expected her to say something without questioning me anyways. ''Echelon'' She said wearily. Echelon? I suppose she didn''t want to speak with the lack of details in that sentence, maybe she just didn''t know how to respond. With every second that went by, I felt a little push trying to edge my eyes open, I wondered why I felt like I was sleeping, or how I have even become aware that I was not awake in the first place. However, the more I tried to speak the further away she felt, I guessed that that once alive part didn''t feel so alive any more than it used to. Everything grew into silence. The sliver of that warm connection burned out. ''What?'' I questioned, Scared something was coming up, I didn''t want to leave, I was fine here.Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings. ''just don''t forget your promise'' That girl spoke again... I don''t think I have ever spoken to her before. Something didn''t feel right. It was all off. S - S - S - - - - - - - - - - I could feel sway in the ground below me. It felt like a wild cannon was on the loose, rumbling with everything surrounding me. I looked around me, I heard lots of screaming from a distance outside of the buildings, a siren alarm was also banging to the left of me. But what I had felt in my hand. I was shaking uncontrollably at the mere sight of what I held in my hands... Immediately let go out of disgust, I could feel and hear my heart beating. This was the head of a person... Did w-what happen? Where am I, where is this? I-I was bewildered, so much to the point where I could feel a cold sweat rushing through my skin and into the deepest pit of my mind. Looking at the head... I saw another hand... across from the room and then a body... I lifted up my head... And I could not believe what I had witnessed. My eyes widened to the room filled with corpses. Concrete filled with blood, the smell of soot and ashes burning nearby where a door frame which had looked like it had been blasted open by a force so powerful. My heart sunk... Everything had collided. I looked at my arms, shirt, pants, and body, only to find blood and small pieces of body tissue that stuck to me.. Did I cause this?... Was this my doing?... I couldn''t understand... Something did not click. As I scrambled my mind looking for answers... Outside there was a strong wind and the sound of a repeated whopping was all over the place. I was as still as a bat in a cave surveying all over the corpse-filled place figuring out just what the hell had been going on. "THIS IS THE 12-C OPS, COME OUT WITH YOUR HANDS UP!!" I was not sure what this was, but I did recognize the 12-C OPS... Weren''t they an Inside operations team?.... Wait... How?... At this moment, I didn''t know what to do exactly... I was lost... Did I kill these people? What happened? The more I asked, the less I understood. There was no way of figuring out what I could do. ''Run'' A whisper arose. "Who''s there?" Gazing around the direction of the voice... Along this walkway, there was a corridor leaving the left side of this room. At the end of the hall, there was a door. ''There'' What the hell is going on?! I was held back by the peculiarity of this situation, but I had started to hear footsteps. many footsteps. Those coming from the opposite side of this room on a corridor outside of the blasted door frame. Without having much of a choice... I couldn''t get caught, anything could happen. But, If I run... Isn''t that the same as casting away your justice? Where do I stand? I started to tear up... I was no one. Who Else knew me? I can''t even remember who I was in the past. I slouched to the wall in defeat. I hung my head as the sounds of the doors bieng broken down was of less care to me. I glanced up to look towards the corpses until I noticed a shining hitting my eyes. I held my hand up high to cover the bright shine and got closer to it. Under the hand of a victim. I was disturbed at first a bit... I didn''t want to touch the hand, However... What seemed to shine, was in fact a medallion. Quickly staring back at the door as I heard there were still people moving about I snatched the medallion away from the grasp of the said body part. Taking a closer look, this medallion had the crest of a horned dragon bearing a sword down the chest. I felt something with this... I grasped it in my hands and got up. ''Run'' It urged me... The sounds of running, and men shouting out loud resounded off the walls of these rooms and corridors of concrete. I loomed over these corpses, my heart tugged on me to move, my mind was trying to find its place as it was shattered. Did I kill? If I did, why would I kill someone? There wasn''t anyone around me and I had nowhere to go or what to do. Soon enough, the shouting had come to a complete stop, they have noticed I was there. I couldn''t stay any longer, I have to leave.. It was what I needed to do. S ; S ;; S :SSS -- )S)S- )S)S +_)S=PS@#_)(@&#SSS
