 Prologue

    This story starts somewhere around Korea, two thousand years ago.


    It started with a seemingly normal, if not a bit too hot, day. Two strangers wearing long black cloaks were walking under the blazing sun.


    ?Norus, give me some water.....My throat is so dry i feels like i ate sand.? Said the first stranger to his friend. Said friend chuckled before throwing him a gourd filled with water.


    ? You know, i personally feels like we''re both gonna die of thirst if you continue to drink so much, Bora? Said Norus as his chuckle changed into a loud laugh. Bora didn''t seem to listen to him as he hurriedly drank everything inside the gourd and sighed.


    ? We''re already close to that rumoured temple anyway. I think it should be riiiiight...There !? Shouted Bora as the temple came into view. Well it was more correct to call it a ruin.


    ?Hmm, don''t you think it kinda ressembles those temples we saw in that country where they worshipped those people called pharaohs ?? Said Bora as Norus sighed.


    ?Yes maybe, anyway we just need to see what''s inside and tell the emperor. I honestly do not even want to enter those ruins. Last time i nearly died because of some weird poisonous traps.? Said Norus shivering as he remembered those traps.


    Bora simply laughed and started to run towards the temple. Norus shook his head before starting to run after Bora.


    After they both arrived at the temple they had to move like snakes to just get to the entrance, this temple was really nothing more than a ruin now. But Bora and Norus finally reached the entrance, just some normal


    stairs that seemed to go extremely deep into the ground.


    But before they even entered, a strange light got their attentions. Looking closely the light seemed to come from a skull, a skull made out...Gold !


    ? Bora don''t even think about it !? Shouted Norus, seeing a greedy look on Bora''s face.

    ? Bora it told you no, what is so.....? Norus couldn''t even finish his sentence because the skull suddenly started to shine, it then vibrated and fell to the ground as Bora dropped it, hissing in pain.


    Bora looked like he was about to say something but stopped as his eyes widened when he looked up. Norus didn''t even have to look up, because as soon as Bora dropped the skull he heard the most powerful thunder in his life. But he did look up, and saw the apocalypse.


    Thunder was striking the earth, the sky was so dark he couldn''t even see the clouds, and the sun suddenly turned into a red moon.


    ?What the hell is that ?!? Yelled Bora as he and Norus stepped back. However before Norus answered, the thunder started to strike the temple, hitting Norus.


    Bora was about to go help him, unfortunately something grabbed his legs, making him fall on the ground. He looked behind him and saw some weird silver vines coming out of the entrance , wrapped around his legs.


    ? Norus !!!? Bora screamed, but it was too late, as Norus stood up, he was dragged into the temple by the vines.


    ? Bora !!!? Norus screamed, running after Bora, sadly the thunder striked the entrance and it crumbled, the falling rocks sealing it.


    Norus had no time to think about it , because when he turned around....


    * Extremely Loud Roar *

    ?Ughh my head? Said Bora as he woke up. He didn''t know how many time had passed, but he sure knew something.....He had to get away from here. Standing up on his trembling legs, he walked with difficulty towards the rocks that sealed the entrance. However he quickly understood that he wouldn''t get out anytime soon. By the looks of it the stairs were completely covered in rocks.


    Shaking his head, Bora turned around and decided to explore this temple, with some luck there may be another entrance somewhere. Walking in a long corridor filled with torches, Bora grabbed one and continued to walk for what seemed to be hours before he reached what looked like to be a treasure room.


    It was filled with mountains of gold and precious stones. But what really got his attention was another skull, though this one was completely made out of crystal. Bora didn''t want to grab it, but he couldn''t control himself. It was like he was posessed by some spirit. And he only snapped out of it when the skull was activated.


    ? By the Gods!? Exclaimed Bora as the skull exploded and a text appeared on the wall of the treasure room. It was written in a language that Bora had never seen, but for some reasons he could read it.


    ? Sweet dreams of treasure,


    Nightmares of poverty,


    Back from his own misadventure,


    He who desires infinitely,


    Shall get back his liberty,


    Abandoned for his misdeed,


    He comes back, The God of Greed?


    Immediately after he read what was written on the wall, a black mist began to ooze from the mountain of treasure.


    ?What is this thing ?!? Shouted Bora as he tried to move, however just as he turned around and tried to escape, the black mist entered his body.


    And just like that, Bora lost conciousness. And God only knows how long he slept.

 Times have changed

    Did you ever wondered what it would feel like to sleep for a very long time ? Anyone would think that sleeping for years would be a peaceful experience. However it certainly wasn''t. For years, Bora didn''t dream, no he was seeing the events on earth from a point of view he never thought was possible, as if he was an omnipotent being that could see and hear all.


    He saw the wars; the revolutions and the changes in mentality. He saw the evolution of technology, science being the human''s greatest weapon. It seemed like what happened in the temple had no effect on the world, except for the country named Korea that was nearly erased by the natural disasters that the skull''s activation triggered.


    However something unexpected happened on the year 1945. After the World War 2 ended a group of Japanese soldiers that crashed in Korea ended up finding the temple. And that''s how the whole world experienced an event that many would later call ?The Gods Arrival ?. One of the soldiers had found his body that had turned into a statue, and touched it out of curiosity.


    This triggered a set of events that no one could''ve predicted. All aroundthe world the ground trembled, and from the dept of earth, gigantic statues emerged. Those statues made out of a strange red metal were made after the gods. No not the ones that humans worshipped but gods that came from who knows where. And humans didn''t even have to wait before knowing what those statues meant, because each gods stood before their statues.


    That is how the golden age started. After the gods, the dungeons followed. They had many forms and could appear pretty much anywhere but they all had a common point. They were filled with treasures, magical treasures. Which was a good thing, for after the arrival of the Gods and just before the arrival of the dungeons, came the mana. An energy that would greatly change things on earth.


    Humans began to master this energy with the help of those new gods and started to explore the dungeons. Bora had never thought he would ever see such a wonderful thing. He had only one thought...Escaping his prison. However after trying to break free for the first he blacked out, losing conciousness just before a group of adventurers discovered the temple.Love what you''re reading?     * Bora''s P.O.V*


    I never thought I would say this one day, but sleeping really sucks. I mean a good nap is always welcomed, but sleeping for thousands of years is something I never want to experience ever again.


    Fortunately it seems that my legendary luck finally decided to help me.


    '' Master, are you gonna move or do you want to stay as a statue forever ?'' A masculine voice said in my head. Yes something was talking in my head, but no I wasn''t going crazy.


    '' Well whoever you may be, I''m not exactly in a position to move right now. I don''t nearly have the required strengh to break free, and last time I tried I blacked out out'' I said in my head.


    ¡ä Indeed you can''t, but fear not for I shall help you !'' Exclaimed the voice.


    '' Are you a spirit or something like that ?'' I asked. From what I was able to see during these years, spirits did exist and they seemed quite powerful.


    '' A spirit ? NoI''m your Aria ,master !'' Said the voice surprising me greatly. I noticed just now that it was calling me master.


    '' Aria ? What is that even supposed to be ?'' I asked.


    '' I''m not really surprised that you don''t know about it. Humans only discovered us a few years ago. The gods taught them to use mana like they used it themselves, however gods do not have Arias, or atleast not anymore. Anyway an Aria is the materialisation of your soul. It helps you control your mana and do some other really cool stuff. But i will explain those things later, for now we need to get you out of there.'' Said the voice.


    '' As I already said, I''m not really able to move right now so...'' What I wanted to say next never came out as the statue I was trapped in started to crack.


    '' Here''s what''s gonna happen master. I''m gonna help you escape this place. As soon as you''re free from the statue, move as fast as you can towards the entrance and get the hell out of here. I''ll help you move faster.¡ä Said the voice. Feeling a bit gratefulI said thanks just as I was finally freed from the statue.


    Since I was trapped in this statue for thousands of years, my body should be unable to move. However for some reasons I was able to move easily and I didn''t have any trouble to see. Unfortunately it seemed that I wouldn''t get anytime to even stretch, for as soon as I got up a man dressed in white looked at me with a shocked face.


    I didn''t even had the time to think about my current predicament that my feet moved on their own and I shot out towards the entrance. On my way I encountered many scientists and soldiers that were shocked out of their minds when they saw me.


    But I didn''t really thought anything about it, at that moment I just wanted to get as far away as possible from here. As I escaped from the temple the light from the outside world temporarily blinded me. But when I opened my eyes, I finally got to see the world with my own two eyes.


    ?Woah.... ?


    ''Woah indeed Master.....Times have changed, and so did you~¡ä

 God of Greed

    ? I never even once imagined that the world could become...So beautiful. ? Said Bora as he looked at what lied before him. As soon as he escaped the temple he ran as far away as possible and arrived at the foot of a gigantic structure. It was a sphere made out of the same strange red metal that the God Statues were made of. It was linked to the ground via some rock stairs that looked like they could survive through anything. All around the sphere, nature had grown beautifully.


    Gigantic trees that created a dense forest you couldn''t even see through, rivers filled with life, and most importantly....Vines everywhere. For some reasons Bora really hated vines now.


    '' Well it is only normal that the world would change so much, what''s with all that Mana invading earth and those dungeons popping everywhere.'' Said Aria. Given that it didn''t have a name, Bora decided to call it Aria.


    ? Soooo, is that a dungeon ? I know they can look like pretty much anything but I never saw ones like that. ? Asked Bora, tilting his head as he looked around the structure.


    ¡ä Yes it is indeed a dungeon but not any dungeon. It is a Mythical Dungeon. Dungeons are ranked like this: Low, Intermediate, High, Mythical, Legendary, Divine and Unknown. The Unknown dungeons are impossible to find, only the Gods know what they are and what''s inside them. Anyway while it may seem incredible to find a Mythical dungeon, it''s not really all that rare. The thing is that the first three ranks of dungeon can be found anywhere, only the other three, considering that Unknown dungeons don''t count, are seen as rare. And since Mythical is the lowest of the three, it''s seen as rare but not incredibly so. '' Said Aria, which caused Bora to sigh.


    ? And here i thought i would get some cool things in this dungeon. ? Said Bora.


    ¡äMaster, while it''s the rarest dungeon it''s still amazing that you found it. Because it was never explored, and as such the first rewards are still there. The first rewards are always the best in a dungeon, that is why adventurers, hunters, Knights and Magicians are searching for new dungeons and not just exploring already used dungeons. Also a mythical dungeon is not just a treasure room. I mean you won''t enter and find the rewards instantly. A dungeon is a war zone, and a mythical dungeon is considered to be dangerous for everyone under Tier 7.'' Said Aria.


    ? Tiers...It''s what people use to determinate the rank of pretty much everything right ? I remember hearing that it goes from 0 to 10 and then from Mythical to Unknown. It''s quite useful. But what tier am I at ? ? Asked Bora, his greedy mind wishing that he was atleast tier 7 so he could get the sweet rewards from the dungeon.     '' Well you are currently at tier 1. When you got trapped in that statue, an energy entered you. It was the divine energy of the God of Greed. Since you were just a mere human, your body would''ve imploded if it had tried to keep this energy, which is why i was awoken. During all those years I learned to master this energy as much as I could, but could never give it to you. You won''t be able to use it until you reach the mythical tier. But I can still use it, for crafting weapons per exemple. Weapons that you could keep for later or even sell to become rich.'' Said Aria as Bora''s eyes shone brightly when he heard the word rich. But he quickly calmed down as something got his curiosity.


    ? The God of Greed ? I don''t remember seeing this God anywhere on earth. Who is he ? I mean I do know that the temple was somewhat linked to him, but I don''t know much about it.


    ¡ä That is why you should''ve focused on important things when you were able to see the world like an omnipotent being. You woul''ve discovered that the God of Greed and all the other gods that represent the seven deadly sins were trapped in hell by the God of Gods. Apparently they tried to corrupt him or something like that. Anyway this God had prepared in advance and let a part of hus energy inside this temple, so that a greedy human would come and take it.'' Said Aria.


    ? Hey I may be a little greedy but come on ! I''m not greedy enough to get the energy of the God of Greed himself. ? Exclaimed Bora, trying to defend himself.


    '' Well things are like this. I have the energy of the God of Greed and can use it to help you. As it''s the energy of greed, it can be mainly used to copy, steal or multiply things. Which could make you rich and powerful in no time. The only problem is that I have a limited amount of this energy, so we should use it wisely.'' Said Aria as Bora was drooling,


    ? Haha...Copy, Steal and Multiply shiny things.... ? Said Bora lost in his own world. But he was quickly brought out of his musings by a deep growl that came from behind him. Bora turned around and immediately screamed.


    ? Ahhhhhh!!!! ?


    He didn''t even take the time to understand the situation and quickly climbed the stairs, he then entered the dungeon and breathed a sigh of relief. However as he turned around he saw the thing, standing just in front of the entrance. The entrance to the dungeon was just a double door with windows, so Bora could clearly see it. It was huge, maybe 3 meters tall, it had two long teeth made out of crystal and a set of white razor-sharp teeth. It was looking at Bora with it''s two golden orbs filled with curiosity. It had a red and black fur that gave it a terrifying appearence.


    ? What the... ?


    ¡ä The guardian of the dungeon...A Mythical Crystal-Tooth Tiger. ?

 Summoning Flute

    After the rather terrifying encounter with the Crystal-Tooth Tiger, Bora decided to explore the dungeon while keeping an eye out for any threats. He had a little bit of experience when it came to fighting so he was confident in his own survival, as long as he didn''t meet anything that could use magic.


    '' Master I think you should start searching for loot. Giving the fact that you haven''t encountered any monsters I think that we are in a bonus room right now. Bonus rooms are usually devoid of any dangers and are just there to reward the conquerors, though it is weird that this room is at the beginning of the dungeon and not near the end. Anyway it seems that your legendary luck as decided to show up once again.¡ä Said Aria. Bora''s eyes lit up when he heard the word bonus, and he stopped being cautious in an instant. Instead he started to search for anything shiny and soon found something.


    ? The hell is that even supposed to be ? ? Asked Bora as he glanced at the Golden Flute that laid at his feet.


    '' Master...Is your luck even legal ?! The first loot you found is one of the rarest ! Not the most powerful one, but it is incredibly rare and most people would kill to get it. Which is quite normal given what it can do. This thing is a summoning flute, and it seems to be at quite a high tier too. Since it''s made out of gold, I would say it''s around Tier 5, but i''m not sure. Then again a summon would really help you no matter the tier. Take it and look for the race of the creature you can summon with it, it should be written somewhere in it.'' Said Aria. Bora started to drool as he listened to what Aria said, he really wanted to thank his parents for his luck at this moment.


    ?Hmmm it says Djinn, or is it Djounn ? I don''t know what it is, any idea ? ? Said Bora as he looked at the words that were carved on the flute. For some reasons, even though he never saw that language in his whole life, he could understand what was written.


    '' Djinn, huh ? Quite good but not really useful for you. They are basically brutes with high physical abilities and resistance, but that''s pretty much it. As soon as you start to fight against ennemies of an equal tier that uses magic it will become useless. But it can be used as a trustworthy companion. Especially since summons, real ones and not those you can get via a spell, a extremely rare. You could even let it live with you, Djinns are not considered as monsters. '' Said Aria.     Without asking Aria what he had to do, Bora started to use the flute, and the words carved on it began to shine brightly. A golden cloud suddenly shot out the flute and began to take the form of an humanoid being. Though it was a big humanoid, being approximatively 1,80 meters tall, which was just a bit smaller than Bora.


    ? ......Woah. ? Said Bora, his jaw dropping when the cloud fully changed into a Djinn. And now, A female Djinn stood in front of Bora. Grey skin, piercing blue eyes, short black hair, a pair of antlers on her head.....She was a deadly beauty. She wore a simple iron chesplate, two golden gauntlets, a pair of leather boots and a red skirt. The Djinn looked around before spotting him and bowing.


    ? I''m Katarea, a pleasure to meet you. ? She simply said, which stunned Bora. From what he heard while he was trapped in the statue, Djinns were similar to Demons, both in powers and appearences. He thought they would be the same when it came to personnality. Then again there did exist some polite and friendly demons, so it wasn''t all that weird.


    ?I''m Bora, a pleasure to... ? Bora couldn''t end his sentence because Katarea''s eyes widened, and in a flash she was kneeling on the ground.


    ? I''m sorry for not recognising you my lord. I did have some doubts since I sensed your divine energy, but your appearence seemed different. Hearing your new name does confirm my doubts. ? Said the Djinn, while Bora didn''t have a single of what was going on.


    ¡ä Sorry it''s kinda my fault. I forgot to explain a lot of things to you master. For now just play along, tell her that you forgive her but that as a punishment she will have to fight alone in the dungeon and protect you.'' Said Aria.


    '' Okay.....¡ä


    ? Hm Hmmm, I forgive you but you shall be punished. You will conquer this dungeon for me and you will do it while protecting me, I won''t lift a single finger to help you. ? Said Bora. He breathed a sigh of relief when Katarea nodded and started to walk towards the second room.


    ¡ä Very good improvisation Master, you are a natural.'' Praised Aria.


    ¡ä Yeah, yeah whatever.....You better start explaining things after we conquer this dungeon.'' Said Bora in his head, as Katarea continued to walk while takingsmall glances at him.


    After walking for a short while, they both arrived in front of a massive iron door. Bora didn''t even had to enter the room to know that it was filled with monsters, he could see a black mist escaping the door, and it spelled trouble to him.


    ?My lord you should stay in the back. In this new form you won''t be able to survive without having to use your energy and that would be a waste. I think it''s better if I deal with all the monsters while you wait for me. I''ll retrieve the loot for you. ? Said Katarea, looking at him hopeful eyes.


    '' Well I do think we should do that, thank you for noticing that I''m weak Katarea.''

 Mystical Dungeon

    ? You know Aria, you could''ve told me that the creatures in the Mystical Dungeon weren''t necessarily at the Mystical Tier. ? Said Bora as he sat on a rock, watching Katarea destroying her ennemies with barely concealed amusement.


    '' Yeah sorry about that. I have been trying to infuse divine energy in your body ever since you woke up. That''s why I forgot to tell you a lot of things. But it seems like it still cannot work. I thought that even if you weren''t at the necessary tier I could maybe just reinforce your body, but it''s impossible for now. Anyway Katarea is a Djinn, and Djinns are usually underestimated because they can''t use magic or just a little bit of it. Katarea should be able to go on toe with a Tier 8 Monster if she really pushed herself.'' Said Aria. Bora nodded and went back to watching his Djinn. She seemed to have finish the fight and was searching for any loot the monsters could''ve left behind.


    After a few minutes she walked towards Bora with her hands full of crystals. Bora looked confused so Katarea cleared her throat and began to explain what they were.


    ? Since you are a God you most certainly never used those things my Lord. They are called Soul Crystals, they are the remnant of the Aria, be it an awakened one or not, of a creature. It can be used to replenish your mana or make you more powerful. If you are at Tier 1 then all the Soul Crystals of higher tiers will make you more powerful once you use them, but a Tier 0 or 1 will just help you get your mana back. Though it is possible that a crystal of the same tier as you will make you more powerful after you use it, but it can only happen if you are at the bottom of said Tier. ? Said Katarea. She then looked up to see if Bora had understood what she said and he nodded.


    ? To use them you just have to break it and the energy will seep into you. Those crystals are quite weak so I think they should only help you go from Tier 0 to 1. ? Said Katarea. Bora smiled and started to break the crystals in his hands, one after the other. While the mana seeped into his body, giving him the sensation that a fire was burning inside of him, Bora thought of something.


    '' I can''t possibly lie to her forever about my identity.''


    ¡ä Worry not Master, after your link with her becomes powerful enough, which should happen soon, I will be able to talk with her. Given that I possess the energy of the God of Greed, she should believe me. Also you are technically the future God of Greed, so she''s kinda right to call you her lord.     '' Those people ? Who are you talking....'' Bora suddenly stopped as he started to feel like his body was on fire, and the temperature continued to go up.


    ? AAARRGGHH !!! ? Bora''s screamed at the top of his lungs, he felt like he was being burned to death.


    '' Okay that wasn''t supposed to happen, what the hell is happening ?! Master can you hear me ?!'' Yelled Aria, but Bora continued to scream while Katarea didn''t even bat an eye.


    ¡ä Wait that''s....* Sigh* And here I was panicking for nothing. Master I know it hurts like hell but bear with it for now. I felt the same thing when the divine energy entered inside me for the first time. It''s just that you are not used to Mana, you body is trying to reject it, but your soul is trying to absorb it, so yeah there''s kinda a war inside your body right now.


    Bora continued to scream for a few minutes, his mind nearly becoming blank, but he recovered. He got up, coughing blood and stood on shaking legs.


    ? Katarea.... ? Said Bora beckoning her to come closer. After she did, he put a hand on her shoulder and glared at her. While he was infinitely weaker than her, the fact that the energy of the God of Greed was inside him made him the most terrifying being at the moment.


    ? Fuck you.... ? And after saying that, Bora walked past her and continued towards the next room. Katera remained frozen for a minute before she ran after him, yelling that she was sorry.

    Jungle Mystical Dungeon, Two hours later.


    After two hour of fighting Bora and Katarea stopped. They both knew that the next room would be the boss room. And according to Aria, since they only fought with weak monsters the boss would be strong as hell. Needless to say that this information didn''t really make Bora happy, especially since he struggled to fight even against some Tier 1 monsters.


    Also for some reasons, after the first rooms, the monsters stopped dropping crystals, and the only loots Bora got were some crafting materials and a bow. And he couldn''t even know whether the bow was strong or not. Katarea wasn''t all that knowledgeable about those things, which was normal since she was a summon. Aria knew a lot of things, but he wasn''t all knowing, so Bora had to settle with no answer for now. Though Aria did tell him that Humans had received a gift from God that could help him, a bracelet that would give it''s wearer a lot of informations about himself, his Aria, his equipment and a lot of other things.....It could even serve as a bag, a bag with a lot of space.


    '' Okay so, what are we gonna do ? The Boss will be way too strong for us to beat, and let''s not even talk about the Guardian. I say we''re pretty much fucked right now.'' Said Bora who had only just now realized how difficult his situation was.


    ''Nyahahaha! Master I told you that you couldn''t use the divine energy because you were too weak for now. But don''t you know someone who''s strong enough to wield it even just a little ?'' Said Aria.


    ? .......Hehehehe~ ?


    ? My lord, why are you looking at me like that ? ?

 First real fight

    ?My Lord, I''m not sure it will actually work. I mean I never learned to wield any energy and.... ? Said Katarea but she stopped when she saw that Bora wasn''t listening.


    ¡ä Okay so I just have to touch her and then let you do the rest?'' Asked Bora.


    ¡ä Exactly, given that she is a Djinn she won''t be able to use the energy, but I still can reinforce her body with it. Though I will have to get the energy back after some time. If she keeps it inside her body for too long it will absorb the energy and it will be a huge waste.¡ä Said Aria.Bora nodded and then put his hand on Katarea''s shoulder. The Djinn was about to question his action but quickly shut her mouth when she saw a purple energy entering her body. And as soon as all the energy entered she bit her lip and veins popped on her forehead. Her body shook while Bora looked like he was really liking what was happening.


    After a few minutes, Katarea let out a sigh of relief and then smiled.


    ? I''m good to go My Lord. I feel like I could beat a demon generalright now. ? Said Katarea, a bloodthirsty smile on her face. Bora smiled even though he had no idea of what a demon general was.


    ?Very well then, let''s enter the last room. ? Said Bora. Katarea entered the room first and Bora entered after bracing himself. A gasp escaped his lips when he saw the room. It looked like a battlefield. Various broken weapons were scattered on the ground. Countless skeletons could be seen across the room, though one of them wasn''t really dead.


    Indeed, sitting on a throne like a King was a Skeleton wearing full-plate armor and a crown of bones. He had in his hand a giant sword easily 3 meters tall, which didn''t have a single scratch on it. He also had a golden necklace that shone in a strange red light. The skeleton was pretty massive, but what really stood out about him was the two blue flames that were in his eye sockets.

    Turning around, Bora saw that Katarea had approached the boss and that he had left his throne. Seeing this, Bora quickly hid behind a stone pillar and looked at the fight, which clearly wasn''t starting good. Katarea could''ve shattered the armor if she wanted, but she Boss had some sort of magical shield that protected him. Sadly while Katarea was strong, without atleast a little bit of magic she couldn''t possibly damage him.


    Well it would be the case if she didn''t have the divine energy inside her. With that energy her body was strong enough to resist the sword of the skeleton. Both foes continued to strike each other even though they were just exhausting themselves.


    Katarea suddenly realised that it would be a lot easier if the Boss didn''t have his sword so she grabbed it with bothher hands as he swung it around and broke it in two with her knee. The boss seemed confused for a second but he soon started to punch her as she did the same to him. And suddenly the fight turned into a duel between two martial artits. Katarea seemed to use a style that was close to streetboxing as Bora heard it was called, while the Skeleton used a style similar to...Well just mindless punches and kicks.


    However the fight didn''t seem to go anywhere, and Katarea would become tired while the skeleton wouldn''t which meant that Bora had to help her. Glancing at the white arrow stuck on the ground, Bora suddenly smirked and dashed for it. The boss saw him and ran towards him, but Katarea made him fall to the ground with a leg sweep aimed at his right leg.


    The Boss got up and tried to kickKatarea in the stomach but she blocked it. Turning around, the Boss saw that Bora was already aiming at him with his bow, so he tried to dodge, however Katarea elbowed him in the face.


    When Bora shot the arrow, his eyes widened at the sight of fire appearing around the arrow. The fire coated the arrow which made it explode as soon as it came into contact with the Boss. The explosion wasn''t all that strong but it was enough to destroy the magic shield of the Boss. As soon as said shield disappeared Katarea rushed at the boss and threw a spin hook kick at him, which sent him flying across the room.


    However the powerful Djinn wasn''t done. She followed after him, and before he even crashed against the wall, she jumped over him and brought him down with a dangerously powerful punch. The Boss crashed on the ground, his skull and his crown destroyed. Katarea then chuckled and looked at Bora with a look that said ? I did something amazing, you better praise me. ?.


    ? Well it went better than I expected for a first real fight...Well done. ? Said Bora. Even though he acted as if he was calm, he was certainly shook inside. The power of the arrow shocked him, but Katarea''s speed and strengh shocked him even more. However he didn''t have the time to think about that. He ran towards Katarea and quickly his hand on her shoulder. The same purple energy that entered her earlier shot out of her body and went back to Bora.


    ¡ä *Sigh* That was close. '' Said Aria. Bora nodded as Katarea suddenly dropped to the ground. Bora gasped before he quickly caught her into his arms.


    ?Aria what the hell is happening ?! Did she faint from exhaustion ? ? Asked Bora while praying it was actually just what he said.


    ¡ä Yes it''s exactly that. Don''t worry she should be fine after a few hours of sleep. For now just loot the Boss he should''ve vanished.'' Said Aria. Bora looked at where the Boss was and saw that he wasn''t there anymore. He had vanished....Leaving his broken crown and his necklace behind.


    ?Well it really ended well for a first fight.....I''m really proud of myself. ?


    '' Katarea did all the work. You just shot a random arrow at the Boss while he couldn''t dodge.¡ä

    '' Master there are tons of things the could happen if you used it, bad things. Plus given that it''s broken there is a chance that it''s just a material, it could just be an accessory but still. Wait until you get that Divine Bracelet I think it''s called. Then you''ll know how good the bow is and also what that crown is. Though I can already tell you, even if it''s just a material, the necklace is more than enough to make up for it. Well I just hope we van find a way to hude it. If people saw you with something like that, god knows what they''ll do to get it.'' Said Aria.


    ? Well no use in thinking about this for now. The real problem is that damn guardian outside. Can''t we get out of the dungeon via another door or something ? Because I''m pretty sure that this bastard is still right on front of the door. ? Said Bora while a few meters away from him , Katarea yawned and got up.


    ¡ä Oh don''t worry about that I have a plan.'' Said Aria in a teasing voice, Bora could pratically hear him chuckle as he said that. Bora nodded albeit reluctantly, he then turned around and smiled as Katarea approached him. He gave her the broken crown and they both walked towards the entrance.


    The trip back was quite boring since monsters in dungeons didn''t respawn. After ten minutes they arrived at the entrance and Katarea froze as she sensed the guardian behind the door. She then got close and saw his two glowing eyes, which was enough to make her adopt a fighting pose.


    ¡ä So, what are we supposed to do ?¡ä Asked Bora.


    ¡ä The Guardian cannot go inside, as such you need to do something quite risky. As soon as you open the door, Katarea will need to use her superior speed to run as fast as she can and get the Guardian attention. After that just run towards the jungle.'' Said Aria. Bora was about to ask him what Katarea was supposed to do afterward but decided against it. He then told Katarea what she had to do and she nodded without an ounce of hesitation.


    Bracing himself and breathing heavily, Bora suddenly opened the door and Katarea shot out. Surprised by her actions, the Guardian was momentarily stunned before a smiled etched on his face and he started to run after her.The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.


    When the Guardian moved, Bora made a mad dash towards the jungle, but before he could even reach it, the massive body of the Guardian stopped him. Bora fell to the ground when he came into contact with the soft body of the giant Crystal-Tooth Tiger, but when he lifted his head his brain stopped as his eyes met the Guardian''s.

    '' Aria !!!! What am I supposed to do now ?!'' Yelled Bora in his head, but Aria''s laugh only served to frighten him even more.


    '' Don''t worry this was my plan. Now don''t do anything and try to appear as calm as possible. He won''t hurt you. The Guardian recognize your divine energy which is why it is so interested in you. Contrarily to the monsters in the dungeon he or she, I don''t know, has a mind and as such won''t attack someone who is, in his/her mind, a god.'' Said Aria, which did help Bora a lot. Bora breathed a sogh of relief which made the guardian even more curious.


    '' But wait, won''t it understand that I''m not a real god since I''m clearly scared of it ? ¡ä Asked Bora.


    ¡ä Nah, the Gods aren''t all insanely powerful. Some of them became gods because they were the living representation of the ideas and concepts that they now control. Like the God of Cooking who is weak as hell but is the best cook the universe has ever seen.'' Said Aria, reassuring his panicking master.


    And just as Aria said, the Guardian didn''t hurt Bora. He/she merely looked at Bora until Katarea came back, looking quite confused. When the Guardian saw Katarea, it suddenly put it''s forehead against Bora''s own. A glowing mark then appeared on Bora''s forehead, it was white and shaped in the form of a tiger''s claw with a lotus behind it. The mark then disappeared and the guardian ran away.


    ? Okay that was one of the most terrifying yet incredible thing that ever happened to me ! ? Exclaimed Bora, who the. Rubbed his forehead and sighed.


    ¡ä Any idea of what happened just now, Aria ? '' Asked Bora, while Katarea looked at the disappearing Guardian.


    '' Yes, I already saw something like that. From what I can remember it is a form of contract. The Guardian recognized you as a potential master since you''re supposed to be a God. However since it''s a Dungeon Guardian it can only become your pet after said Dungeon disappears or get destroyed. So you now got a new goal.'' Said Aria.

    ? Okay so here''s the plan Katarea. When we get to the city you''ll get us some money, while you do so I''ll just try to get some info about where exactly we are and where is the closest airport. After that wr will search for someone who can forge some documents for us. We need some basic documents or else people will be suspicious of us. Once we get the papers done, we head to the airport and embark on the first flight to japan. There we will just improvise. ? Said Bora, looking much more serious than usual.

After all the coins that ge had on himself were two thousand years old, so they were bound to be expensive. And so the expert eyes of the merchant had lit up, and he told Bora how he could become rich by selling those to some rich collector.Love this novel?     At the end of the day, Bora went back to where he and Katarea had split up and waited for her. And just after a few minutes she came back, though her clothes were now completely clean and she had a fat stack of bills in her hands.

    '' Well what can I say...According to the people of this era, our world is quite a harsh place.'' Though Bora as a thin smile appeared on his smile. He then turned around too and walked in the direction of the hotel.


    After two hours of walking, Bora finally reached the hotel. He then entered the building and booked a room for two, while silently thanking Aria who helped him. During all thise years he had only looked at how the world had changed without really trying to understand anything. As such while he knew a lot of things, he certainly still had trouble getting use to how the world worked nowadays. Everything was linked to the internet and electronics and that was something he really didn''t understand. Which made him quite mad since apparently not understanding the recent technologies made you old in the eyes of the society. He was still quite young.....Atleast in his mind he was.


    Silently sitting on the bed of the hotel room, Bora suddenly thought of something.


    ¡ä Even if it''s Katarea, finding someone who can forge some fake documents might take some time. I should''ve gone with her.'' Thought Bora


    '' Nah, she''ll be fine on her own. Plus since she''s a Djinn she will be able to get exactly what she want without losing any time. You know it''s crazy how today''s world can become so easy to live in when you can just literally threaten people to give you whatever you ask for. I''m sure she won''t have any trouble.'' Said Aria, which made Bora laugh. But suddenly the door got opened and Bora spun around. However his panic soon disappeared when he discovered that it was just Katarea.


    She entered the room and walked towards him, before throwing some documents on the bed and falling on it. She seemed quite exhausted.


    Seeing that she had come back with the papers so early and with such ease, Bora couldn''t help but smile.

If you were to find a rare weapon than I could multiply it so that you can keep one for yourself and sell the other...You could become rich by selling multiple rare equipments. Afterall if they are rare then it''s most unlikely that there are other same equipments. Also I can copy or steal things. Per example I could copy a seal to reapply it on anything you want or steal a skill to give it to you. By the way don''t forget that people who can completely communicate with their Aria are rare, like extremely rare. So you''ll have to use your skills, spells and techniques on your own sometimes.     Bora sighed and got up. Stretching he looked around and saw a cigarette still burning on the ground.

    ¡® But wait can I copy like really anything I want ? Or steal, or multiply everything ? Because if I can, then I¡¯m pretty much invincible aren¡¯t I ?¡¯ Asked Bora with a wide smile on his face. Maybe getting trapped in that statue for thousand of years wasn¡¯t all that bad in the end.


    ¡ä Well yes and no. Yes because you can indeed use your power on anyone and anything, however it¡¯s also no because some things would be impossible for you to even control. Per example if you tried to steal the powers of another God, well you wouldn¡¯t be able to. Because you need said god¡¯s energy to wield them and if you stole his energy it would try to fight against your own energy and would ultimately destroy you.¡¯ Said Aria with a grave voice. But Bora still continued to smile.


    ¡äMeh, I¡¯m already overpowered enough. So let¡¯s start using those powers shall we ?¡ä Asked Bora as he rubbed his hands.


    ¡® Indeed Master, but do not forget that I have a limited amount of energy. We can only use it on things that are worth it, like that necklace you got. And also your coins. Given how ancient they are they can get you a lot of money. Though we should sell them to a rich foreign collector. And then under the awestruck eyes of Bora, the purple mist began to ooze from the necklace and formed a copy of it.     ¡® Master do not panic, for now just ignore that. She should¡¯ve returned with the money so go and book a hotel room in a cheap hotel.¡ä Said Aria. Bora sighed and then nodded. He asked Katarea for the money and when he got it, he began to search for a cheap hotel.


    Asking the passerbys, Bora couldn¡¯t get an answer out of them. They either got scared when they saw Katarea, or they immediately fled when they saw the necklace he had.

A bulky man, a mountain of muscles, dressed in a plain white shirt and black pants. He had nothing on him that could prove he was a magician, a hunter, a knight or whatever he was.


    ?  Him Master. He is around the Tier 6 I think. ? Said Katarea. Bora nodded and then stepped in front of the man, who looked stunned for a second. The man was about to insult Bora but when he saw Katarea he immediately smiled.


    ? Haha, what can I do for you little man ? ? Asked the giant.


    ?  Well me and my friend wanted to know where we could find a cheap hotel. ? Said Bora not looking intimidated at all by the Giant man, which seemed to please the man. Before the man even answered, Katarea stepped in front of him too and stared at him. As if they had a mental discussion, they both went for a hand shake. The giant of man used his entire strengh to pressure Katarea but she countered with her own strengh. They glared at each other for a few seconds before Yama removed his hand and smiled.

He knew that people''s souls were flames, but most people had white flames and not purple ones.


    Katarea''s eyes became blank and she stopped moving. Bora then got up and exited the room. As he was about to exit the hotel, a voice called him. Turning around, Bora saw a.....Humanoid walking towards him. Said humanoid was clearly a male and had a dark purple skin. He was incredibly tall and had long pointy ears. He had a feminine body but he carried himself like a man. Bora remembered those creatures, dark elves they were called, the weakest type of elf there existed.

    As they approached a door, the secretary knocked on the door and waited until the grave voice of Yama was heard.

However Bora was grinning inside. As such Yama will try to keep Bora at any cost, while Bora would act as if he was forced. It was a technique that Bora used many times when he was younger, a technique that Norus had taught him.

    After reading all of this Bora finally understood why those bracelets were so important. They were just so damn useful. Seeing Bora''s dazed look Yama chuckled, he had seen this look hundred of times, and it was still hilarious.     When Bora entered his hotel room, he expected to find a sleeping Katarea. However as he stepped inside he saw said Djinn looking at him with her piercing eyes. As he approached Aria shot out of Katarea''s bldy and went back to Bora''s body.

The only thing that is different now is that I''ll need to guide you for a while. Yoru did tell me that you didn''t have a goal other than finding your friend. However I have a rather simple idea. You are the God of Greed, so your goal is to possess everything and that''s all. You can find your friend after you are powerful enough. But for now we need to make you strong, rich and influent. You can become rich by selling the items that you multiply, which will become even easier if you get some subordinates to loot items for you. You can become influent just by being rich so it''s not important. But we really need to make you strong. For that we''ll Yoru and I had an idea. Firstly you are gonna copy my talents and skills.     ¡® That¡¯s right Master. When I was watching the world I noticed that organisation, but as weird as it can be.....I never could see or hear anything really important about them. They are so powerful that they can even pressure the Gods. Apparently they are also the reasons why the other races never invaded earth.¡¯ Said Yoru.


    ?  Woah, it sounds like something se should really avoid. ? Said Bora which got a nod from Katarea and an affirmative hum from Yoru.


    ?  Well since I am gonna do nothing for two days, I think you should go out on your own Katarea. ? Said Bora.


    ?  That¡¯s a good idea master. But I don¡¯t know what to do master. I can¡¯t enter a dungeon or a tower since I¡¯m not a magician, a mercenary, a knight, a hunter or anything like that. Though I could enter a monster zone. ? Said Katarea which confused Bora as he let out a ¡® Huh ?¡¯.


    ?  Monster zone ? Aren¡¯t those the places where monster can spawn even if they are outside Dungeons and Towers ? ? Asked Bora.


    ?  That¡¯s it master. Apparently they appear after the failed conquest of a tower. If the conquest of a tower is failed, summoning crystals escape from the tower and ends up scattering around the world. I think I could find a monster zone close by since there is a tower a few kilometers away from this city. ? Said Katarea.


    ¡ä Master tell Katarea that she should go buy a weapon before going into a monster zone. Those places are really tricky, since a tier 8 monster could appear in a tier 4 monster zone. ¡®Said Yoru.


    ? Katarea you should go buy a weapon before you enter a monster zone, safety first as people say nowadays. ? Said Bora. While Katarea looked like she wanted to smash the monsters without a weapon, she still nodded and left the room.

 Monster Zone

    { Katarea''s P.O.V }


    After I exited the hotel, I searched for a place that would sell me some good weapon. I alredy didn''t wanted one, so atleast it had to be a good one. I didn''t know what type of weapon would fit me, but given that I''m a Djinn it would make sense to choose a weapon that required great strengh.


    When I entered the store I was quite shocked at how luxurious it was. A hunter passing by had told me that this was one of the best weapon story in the city, but I didn''t think it would be like that. Anyway I quickly found my weapon, a cheap but tough looking warhammer made out of mana iron, which was just iron reinforced by mana.


    After I bought it, I asked the owner if he knew where I could find a monster zone. He told me that there was a monster zone filled with goblins in an abandoned parking lot. Without wasting anytime, I then headed towards said monster zone and arrived in a few minutes.


    It would be my first time in a monster zone so I was quite anxious. Djinns had the tendency to surestimate everything, so I naturally prepared myself like I was gonna fight monsters who were stronger than the Boss I fought in the dungeon. I was just happy that there wasn''t anyone in the monster zone, which meant I could focus on the fight and worry about the loots later.


    According to what little information I had on monster zones, good loot was really rare and could only be obtained from the anomalies, creatures who were much stronger than the others in the monster zone. So I was on the lookout for any creature who would be stronger than the goblins. Those little green monsters only dropped crafting materials which wasn''t useful to my master. I needed to get some high tier items for him, and maybe intermediate tier equipement for me. A good tier 4 armor would be much appreciated, I was pratically naked with my current armor.


    Walking inside the monster zones I kept my senses sharp, I wasn''t gonna get surprised by those green filths. And sure enough, I saw a group of Gobelins...Or maybe an army actually. There were alteast 50 goblins who were surrounding a goblin who wore a long blue cloak. So a group of goblins led by a goblin mage. The goblins would be easy to kill but the mage was gonna be a headache. As a Djinn I didn''t have a protection against magic, even basic spells.     Hearing my bracelet vibrate I glanced at it and saw that it was telling me that goblins were nearby. This was really a useful thing. But back to those goblins, the mage was still a problem.


    Well I could still take him out. If I could kill him with a surprise attack it would be nice. So walking in the darkness, I slowly approached them. They were dancing for some reasons, and the mage was chanting something.....A spell !


    * Boom *


    A huge fireball exploded in front of him. I was then sent flying on a few meters before I crashed into a wall. Getting up as I groaned, I snarled while my vision was filled with red. And here it was, the skill that all djinns had.....Berserker''s Mind.


    For the next ten minutes I had no idea of what I was doing. I couldn''t control my body, but I was slaughtering them. The mage kept firing small fireballs at me while I swung my ace randomly cleaving some goblins in half while the others were lucky enough to land a few hits on me with their primitive daggers.


    When my vision returned to normal and I got the control of my own body back I was drenched in blood. I had a few hits on my forearms and legs, but I was fine overall. The Mage had only burned my a little bit of my back, but it wasn''t anything problematic.


    As I looked around for anything interesting that the Goblins could''ve left behind, I heard a growl coming from the shadows. I turned around and gripped my axe tightly, this was clearly an anomaly. An anomaly could be literally anything, so I stayed focused.


    Hearing some noises on my right I quickly dodged as a huge claw grazed me. I jumped to dodge another claw and used my axe mid-air to block a kick from a clawed feet.


    Well this feet looked quite human, that wasn''t a good sign, especially since I could clearly hear the growl of a beast that sounded like an animal I knew.


    A loud roar made me froze, but I recovered and ran towards the only corner of the room where light shone on the ground. I then looked around, trying to spot the beast, but it seemed that it wanted to stay in the shadows. I allowed myself to breath a sigh of relief as I dropped on the ground.


    I really had bad luck contrarily to my master, and it showed now. Though I was still a tier 5 Djinn, I wasn''t going down so easily. Bracing myself I got up and tightened my grip on my axe.

    Hearing my bracelet vibrate I looked down and my heart sank. Bad luck indeed. I should''ve brought a bigger weapon, or maybe I really should''ve asked for the necklace.

Per example the summoning flute could''ve summoned any Djinns that aren''t Boss types, and as such everything was decided by your luck. But if you get the soul crystal of a boss it will help you summon that boss, with his stats and equipments. Which is very good. '' Said Yoru.


    ? Then.....Shouldn''t I multiply it ? I mean I can multiply anything and that clearly looks like an item that is worth it. ? Said Bora as he eyed the crown with greedy eyes, he looked like Yama at this moment.


    '' Indeed you can master but remember that the energy is limited. The necklace is extremely expensive so it is indeed worth it since you need money. But summoning items are tricky. Because if you were to create another summoning item you would have two, but you would only be able to summon one for yourself. You can only have a summon once. Though you could give a copy of the awakened crown to Katarea, it would really help her, and a copy of the necklace too.¡¯ Said Yoru as Bora nodded.You could be reading stolen content. By the way after the scan of your talents and skills is finished, you should copy Katarea¡¯s own and maybe copy yours to give them to Katarea. I think it¡¯s better if you both get as strong as possible.¡¯ Said Yoru.

    ?  Well I¡¯m not really a big fan of headaches so I won¡¯t ask you. By the way I¡¯m going to sleep, I¡¯m quite tired. ? Said Bora as he yawned. He then crashed on the bed and slowly drifted to sleep. For a few hours he peacefully slept, dreaming of mountains of treasures and fountains of chocolate.


    However it seemed that the world didn¡¯t want Bora to relax.


    *Riiiiing !*


    ? W-What ?! ? Shouted Bora, his eyes still groggy as he surveyed the room, searching for the phone. When he spotted it, he quickly got out of the bed but got tangled in the blanked and fell to the ground.


    Grumbling, Bora stood on his legs and ran toward the phone. He quickly picked up, but was quite surprised when he heard a panicked voice on the other side.


    ?  M-Mister Bora ?! ? Asked the receptionist. She sounded like she had seen someone die in front of her.


    ?  Yeah it¡¯s me, what it is ? ? Asked Bora, now thoroughly confused.


    ?  W-Well it¡¯s about your friend, the Djinn ! ? Said the receptionist. Bora could hear screams around her.


    ? What about her ?! ? Asked Bora.


    ?  S-She...... ? Said the receptionist, unable to say more. Now really panicked Bora gripped the phone tighter.


    ? What ?! What happened ?! ? Yelled Bora.


    ? She.....S-She¡¯s on the ground......She¡¯s drenched in blood and she¡¯s not moving !! ?

However as the receptionist assured him that this was really what happened, he decided for himself.


    After taking the elevator, Bora arrived in the main hall and immediately saw bloody footsteps on the ground. He then looked at where the receptionist was and saw her holding Katarea. The other persons present in the hotel looked more shocked by the corpse of the werewolf that Katarea had dropped on the ground, than by the uncounscious Katarea laying in the receptionist''s hands.


    Thanking the receptionist, Bora grabbed Katarea and lifted her with his right arm. He then walked towards the werewolf and grabbed it by it''s head and dragged it on the floor as he walked towards the elevator. He entered the elevator and glanced at the receptionist who was busy reassuring the other clients.


    ? * Sigh* I hope she brought something good.* ? Said Bora.

    Opening her eyes and stretching, Katarea saw that she was back in the hotel room, which meant that Bora must''ve come to pick her up. She then looked down and saw that her injuries had completely healed, though she would still keep the scars.

    Hearing a cough coming from her right, she turned her head and her groggy eyes met Bora amused face. She was about to ask him how much time she slept but he answered before she even asked.


    ? You slept for a whole day. It must''ve been the result of your fatigue getting mixed up with your pain. You slept like a baby, completely different from what I thought. You looked more like a child than a fearsome warrior while sleeping. ? Said Bora, mocking her. Katarea clenched her teeth and turned her head so he couldn''t see how red her face had become.


    ? Hahaha! Well atleast you didn''t suffer any real injuries. But damn, that werewolf you brought is weird. According to my God''s bracelet it''s a shadow werewolf. A werewolf that can use shadow magic to nullify any physical attack. You really have a shitty luck don''t you ? ? Said Bora with a smug look. The Aria turned into mana which entered me and he dropped a fang. ? Said Bora which made Katarea''s eyes widened.


    ? Well I didn''t think it was because of that. But whatever, I actually didn''t get some crazy thing. most of the loots were low tier soul crystals, though you can still use them. I also got some crafting materials and a potion. It''s an iron skin potion, apparently it triples your physical defense for an entire day. And...Oh yes ! I got two daggers ! They are pretty weak but they could serve as secondary weapons. ? Said Katarea as all the loots shot out of her void storage tattoo.

    ? Oh yeah, take it. I think you really need it. ? Said Bora as he handed her the potions he created. He had created a dozen of them. She put them in her void storage and put the necklace on her neck.


    ? Well now that you''re up, I think you should stay here for a the day. The scan should be finished tonight, so I think I won''t do anything today and then we will go in a monster zone together or......Hmmm, Yoru said that we should become mercenaries or Hunters. As normal people we can''t do a lot of things, but becoming mercenaries or hunters will give us a lot of opportunities. I think we should become mercenaries since it allow us to get some contracts from various importants clients. It''s always good to get some connections. ? Said Bora. Katarea nodded but she then remembered what he first said.


    ? Master I slept for a whole day. I won''t be able to stay idle for a whole dah. I need to do something. ? She said.


    ? Okay well register us as Mercenaries. You just need to go to the Mercenary guild of Kyoto. After that.....Do whatever you want as long as you don''t get into some dangerous situations. ? Said Bora, as Katarea nodded. She seemed a little happy that Bora cared about her.


    ? Very well Master. I should be back before the night falls. ? She said before she exited the room.


    As soon as she left, Bora got into a comfortable position in the bed and began to check each items individually.

 Mercenaries

    On her way to the Mercenary Guild, Katarea faced a surprising problem. No matter where she went, everyone looked at her as if she was a monster or some sort of rare animal. She knew that races like Djinns were rare in Japan, but still it was quite unnerving. Especially since she saw Elves and Beastmen on her way. They were the most common and pacific types of humanoid races. They blended perfectly with humans and were really liked, Elves were so intelligent that most of them became scientists, teachers or even politicians. Beastmen on the other way did succeed in getting accepted in the society, but there was still a long way to go. Beastmen struggled to live normal lives, simply because they weren''t used to the modern world.


    Anyway Katarea soon saw the building and had to pause, it didn''t look like a guild. Atleast it didn''t look like she thought it would. In some way it ressembled a bank. She entered and went to see a member of the staff.


    However the stares inside the building became even more oppressive than in the streets. Something that seemed to make Katarea angry, but there was no way to know what she was thinking at the moment.


    Her hands formed fists, her teeth clenched and her body trembled, but before she could do anything a hand appeared on her shoulder. Katarea looked up and saw a middle-aged man glaring at the other mercenaries who quickly lowered their heads. The man was quite handsome, with a trimmed black beard, long black hair tied in a ponytail, a green piercing eye and the other closed, a huge horizontal scar on it. He then looked at her and talked in a low voice.


    ? Don''t get so worked up because of those dumbassess, they are just curious. ? Said the man. Katarea slowly nodded and was lead towards a staff member by the man.


    ? This is the only staff member who won''t give a damn about your race, when you come here deal with her. ? Said the man as he gestured at the staff member standing behind the counter who smiled.


    Katarea wanted to say thanks to the man but he was already walking towards the stairs that lead to the second floor.


    ? So....What did you needed ? ? Asked the female staff member. Looking closely, Katarea could see her name written on her uniform.


    ? Hanabi, right ? I want to register me and my companion as mercenaries. ? Said Katarea as Hanabi nodded.


    ? Well it should be easy. Here, you just have to write some basic informations about yourself, then do the same for your friend. Oh and by the way, newcomers need to complete a quest or a task on the first week, it''s like a test. ? Said Hanabi. Katarea nodded and began to write on the two paper sheets that Hanabi gave her. Katarea took some time to understand but then she nodded and turned towards the board. It was actually a big screen which showed a list of quests ranked by tiers.


    Katarea observed the board for a few minutes before she noticed an interesting quest. She then went back to hanabi and told her which quest she chose. Hanabi warned her about the difficulty of the quest, but Katarea shook her off. Hanabi then typed on her computer and told Katarea that the mission was now hers. Satisfied, Katarea left the building and walked in the direction of the hotel, unaware that the same man who had helped her before was watching her from behind a window.

    { Two hours later }


    Now back at the hotel, Katarea entered the room and was immediately hit by a rotten smell. She looked around but saw nothing so she walked and came face to face with Bora who busy opening all the windows.


    ? What happened master ? ? She asked. Bora coughed a few times before pointing at the broken crown that was on the bed. Katarea looked and saw that a dark purple liquid covered it.


    ? I tried to *Cough* multiply the crown but the energy needed was too high so Yoru canceled the process and the other crown exploded and became that weird liquid. It smells awful as you noticed. Go and wash the crown in the bathroom while I wash the blanket and get that smell out of there. By the way Yoru....I freaking hate you. ? Said Bora bitterly.


    They then wasted a whole hour before the blanket and the crown were clean and the room didn''t smell like it was filled with corpses. After they finished, they both sat on the bed and Katarea took out a PC.


    ? Where did you even get that ?! ? Asked Bora.


    ? The staff member at the guild told me I needed to go on the mercenary guild''s website, so I stole this thing called a PC. A man was using it in that place called cafe but he went to the toilet so I discreetly took his PC and ran. ? Said Katarea, puffing her chest out as she felt proud of herself. Bora smiled and shook his head.


    ? I''m proud of you Katarea. You know my father always told me that as long as no one know what you''re doing, then you can do whatever you want. ? Said Bora. Katarea nodded and then put the PC on the bed. However she didn''t know how to use it so she gestured for Bora to use it himself.


    He sighed but still did it. After a few minutes of browsing through the web, he finally found the website. Katarea gave him the name of the quest which greatly confused, but he still searched it on the website and found the quest. It was written that the quest had been accepted by the newbie mercenaries, Katarea and Bora. But what really caught Bora''s eyes was the quest itself.


    ? ......Katarea, I''m supposed to go with you, you know ? How am I supposed to survive this ?! ?

 First Quest

    ? I know master, but read the description. A team of low tier hunters never returned from an intermediate dungeon. The rank of the quest is so high because we can encounter the guardian on our way. And given that this is an intermediate dungeon, the guardian is most certainly a Tier 6 monster. But with the necklace I can easily win against a Tier 6 monster as long as they don''t use some weird magic. The necklace will protect you, and if worst comes to worst I can use my Berserker''s mind skill. It will work, don''t worry master. ? Said Katarea reassuring Bora who looked quite reluctant.


    ? *Sigh* Okay, okay. Let''s just hope we won''t encounter some damn mage monsters. They are our nemesis. ? Said Bora. Katarea nodded and excitedly left the room. Bora shook his head while chuckle and followed after her.

    {Outskirt of Kyoto, An hour later.}


    Bora and Katarea stood in front of a cavern that looked like it had freed itself from the ground. All the surroundings were plains but there was this cavern entrance sticking out of the ground. There was a sign in front of it.


    [ Spider Intermediate Dungeon ]


    [ Beware of the Guardian, the Giant Black Widow.


    It hides in the ceilings of each room and attack after the rooms are cleared.]


    ? Well looks like we''ll need to watch the ceiling closely. ? Said Bora jockingly, trying to hide how panicked he was inside. He hated spiders, and yet he had to enter a dungeon full of spiders, he hoped that this quest would end quickly.


    Without any warning, Katarea walked inside. Blinking, Bora suddenly understood what happened and ran after her, cursing her inside his mind, which greatly amused Yoru, who was still trying to give divine energy to Bora.


    ? Damn, this place is really dark. How the hell are we even gonna find that team if we can¡¯t find our own feets ? ?Asked Bora. Katarea looked around for a torch or any source of light but found nothing.


    ? Well it looks like we¡¯ll to continue without any lighting for now. Master don¡¯t forget to look around for any torches. ? Said Katarea in a low voice. Bora nodded and they both began to walk inside the dungeon, stopping every two minutes because of suspiscious noises. However after a few minutes they arrived in front of an iron door..


    ? The first room must be filled with shy spiders, hehe~ ? Said Bora. He then opened the door without much thought. But as soon as the door opened, both he and Katarea froze.The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.

    ?  Oh hell no !!! ? Yelled Bora while he hurriedly closed the door. He nearly had a heart attack when he saw the army of red eyes that shone in the shadows behind that door. Looking beside him, he saw that Katarea had chose to give him the daggers since he didn¡¯t have any weapon. It was in that moment, that Bora knew he should¡¯ve bought some arrows.


    ?  We¡¯ve got no choice Master. We¡¯ve got to fight blindly. I should be fine, but since you don¡¯t have any arrows, you need a way to protect yourself. ? Said Katarea.


    ? Well seems like I¡¯m gonna have to fight. The necklace won¡¯t be able to handle hundreds of ennemies at the same time. We need to stat close to each other and keep the spiders away. ? Said Bora. Katarea nodded and then put her hand pn the door¡¯s handle. Bracing himself, Bora gripped the daggers with so much strengh his hands turned white. He nodded and she opened the door in an instant.


    ?  Come here you damn eight-legs demons ! ?

    { 4 hours later }


    ? * Huff ** Huff * Daaaamn ! I¡¯m so tired I can¡¯t even move anymore ! Ah we really need to take a break. I can¡¯t move a single muscle. ? Said Bora as he collapsed on the ground and laid against a stone pillar covered in cobweb.  His body was littered with bite marks and scratches. He was covered in cobweb and his clothes clearly went trough a really bad time. Katarea who was busy putting loots in her void storage spoke with a tired voice.


    ? I agree with you Master. Even for me, it¡¯s quite difficult to fight against monster nonstop during four hours. ? Said Katarea as she lied besides him.


    ?  Well atleast the loots were good. It was worth getting bit by all those abominations. ? Sais Bora.


    ?  But really Master........We should¡¯ve used the potions. ? Said Katarea, but Bora glared at her.


    ? Absolutely not ! The potions are in limited number, atleast for now. We keep them for Bosses and Guardians. ? Said Bora. Katarea smiled bitterly but nodded nonetheless.


    ?  Unfortunately it seems that this team really entered the Boss room. I¡¯m surprised they actually avoided the guardian. This thing was really horrifying. ? Said Katarea as both she and Bora shivered remembering the giant Black Widow that had dropped from the ceiling of the 5th room. The thing nearly devoured Katarea because they were so surprised.


    ?  Maybe they just got lucky. I mean they are low tier hunters so it¡¯s a miracle they went this far. I don¡¯t even know why they entered this dungeon. ? Said Bora as he relaxed and allowed himself to calmly lay on his back.


    ? Indeed, maybe it was just luck. Who knows. Though I think they entered this place because they were greedy, I mean you know how powerful greed is in human being don¡¯t you master ?..........Master ? ? Asked Katarea, confused as to why Bora was staring at nothing with a dazed look on his face. He then laughed like a madman which really scared Katarea and he gripped both her shoulders.


    ? It seems my legendary luck as decided to show itself once again ! ? Said Bora.


    ?  A-And why is that master ? ? Asked Katarea.


    ?  Kukuku~.............Think about it Katarea. What could happen before we enter the boss room which would really help for the fight ? ? Asked Bora. But Katarea just tilted her head, before she suddenly gasped.


    ? Oooooh ! ?

 Boss fight

    ? So it''s finally finished ? I hope you have something good ? Said Katarea. Bora''s eyes were sparkling as he looked at the screen. The scan of his abilities was completed and so he began to read what they were.


    And as each minutes passed, his face went through numbers of expressions. From happiness to confusion and then anger. He trembled for a little before he stopped looking at the screen and took out two ironskin potions.


    ? So ? What did you get master ?! ? Asked Katarea excitedly, however Bora just sighed and gave her a potion.


    ? I''ll tell you later but most won''t be useful for now. I lack the power to use them. Atleast without being completely exhausted after using just one. ? He said with anger in his tone. However she could still see traces of happiness in his voice. He must have good abilities that required too much mana.


    Shaking her head while smiling, Katarea drank the potion and her eyes widened. She suddenly felt as if her weight doubled. She felt heavy but extremely hard, like a big rock. She tried to pierce her skin with her dagger, however the blade couldn''t do anything.


    ? Damn ! With that and the Necklace, that huge spider won''t be able to even hurt us a little bit. ? Said Bora. Katarea didn''t even nodded, she was really impressed by how good that potion was. It must be a high tier one, she didn''t know since she had been too tired to check it''s tier.


    Bora then took a deep breath and kicked the door open. They were both quite surprised to see that the last room wasn''t all dark like the others. It was entirely covered in cobwebs, though they both could still see a huge cobweb at the center of the room, from which four heads could be seen slightly peeking from it.


    Before they could even approach the cobweb, Bora and Katarea tensed as something huge appeared in front of them.


    ''T-The black widow ! '' Thought Bora.


    '' Woah, that thing is huge as hell !'' Said Yoru. And Bora had to agree with him. Fortunately the giant spider didn''t seem to have noticed them, so Bora relaxed a little. However that seemed to be a mistake as the spider suddenly turned around.


    Bora felt nauseous as all those disgusting big eyes looked at him. Katarea was gripping her daggers tightly. And yet, to the surprised of the two tense mercenaries, the spider ignored them.     '' What the hell...'' Thought Bora. Looking beside him, he could see that Katarea was as shocked as he was.


    '' Oh I know ! It must have a really bad eyesight, and potentially a really bad sense of smell. I don''t know why it didn''t notice you. ¡ä Said Yoru.


    As he said that, Katarea tried to approach the spider, but ended up kicking a rock that flew to the right and hit a wall.


    * Hisss*


    The spider hissed and suddenly hit the wall with one of it''s leg. The blow was so powerful the wall shook. Katarea and Bora immediately understood that it had a keen hearing to make up for it''s lack of vision. Nodding to each other they silently crept on the spider. Katarea gave her daggers to Bora and grabbed her war axe. Bora then stabbed the spider''s abdomen which made it hiss in pain. It turned around and tried to bite Bora, but it''s fangs bit nothing but air. Since it was blind, Bora had just crouched and since he didn''t make any noise, the spider didn''t know where was.


    Katarea then sliced one of it''s leg, and the spider also tried to bite her, however she had already jumped away and landed on the ground silently. It continued like that for a while, with Bora and Katarea hitting it and then silently dodging. However at some point the spider began to strike back with her legs, which resulted in Bora crashing in a wall. He felt as if all his bones had been broken and dropped to the ground, which made a loud noise since he had fell on a silver sword.


    The Black Widow then dashed towards him, ready to devour him. Unfortunately for the spider it suddenly fell to the ground, unable to lift itself. And then all of it''s eyes saw an extremely angry Katarea with one of it''s leg in her hand. The spider hissed and got up with great difficulty, it then tried to take Katarea by surprise by shooting it''s web at her, however Katarea simply jumped in the air and landed on the spider''s head. She tried to severe it''s head, but the spider fiercely trashed around until Katarea was forced to get away.


    As Bora got up and shaking legs and joined Katarea, they both had to blink when they saw some green liquid leaking from the Spider''s mouth. Bora''s eyes widened and he quickly pushed Katarea away as the liquid flew in her direction. It miseed them, but when it touched the ground Bora froze.


    '' Acid ?! Oh come on ! Are Black Widows supposed to shoot acid or is it just this boss who decided to be a literal spawn of the devil ?!'' Yelled Bora in his head.


    '' Nah Black Widows don''t do that. So yeah good luck with that thing....Don''t forget about your abilities.'' Said Yoru.


    '' Yeah, yeah'' Thought Bora. Meanwhile Katarea had got up and ran across the room to dodge the acid that the spider continously shot at her.


    ? I need a little help over there Master ! ? Yelled Katarea, which caused the spider to get even more precise.


    Bora nodded and looked at his God Bracelet to confirm his abilities.


    ? Oi you damn spider ! ? Shouted Bora, getting the Black Widow''s attention. He then chuckled and lifted his left hand.


    ? I hope I don''t die of mana exhaustion because of this........Ethereal Creation. ?

 Rescue

    Katarea was a Djinn, and that meant that like most demons she respected power. It is what made it difficult for her to take Bora seriously. While she still considered him as her master, he seemed like a pathetic master. At one point she even wondered about what other demons would say to her if they were aware of her situation.


    However this day, the day Bora fought a Boss on his own, Katarea had stars in her eyes seeing him like that. She knew that after this day, she could be proud of being his servant.


    ? Ethereal Creation : Shotgun ! ? Yelled Bora as a shotgun appeared in his hands. However it looked like it was made of smoke. It looked as if it would dissipate with a single breath. And yet, this shotgun was powerful enough to make the Black widow hiss in pain. And Bora used without reloading even once.


    ? Ethereal Creation: Stun Grenade ! ? Bora yelled once again, and this time a grenade appeared in his hands. He removed the pin of the grenade and threw it on a wall. The spider rushed toward the wall and took a step back as the grenade exploded. The spider then looked left and right, up and down, seemingly lost.


    Grinning Bora dashed towards the spider, he jumped and tried to stab it, however he closed his eyes while in the air and landed on his back. It seemed that he had reached his limit.


    ? Master ! ? Screamed Katarea, thankfully the spider was still affected by the grenade and didn''t attack her. She rushed at Bora''s side and slapped him, which made him shot up standing.


    ? Did I actually faint because of mana exhaustion ? ? Asked Bora. Katarea nodded and pushed him as one of the spider''s leg came in a flash.


    ? Damn that thing don''t want to die ! ? Exclaimed Bora. The spider turned towards them and started to attack them ruthlessly. But since it had lost a lot of legs it couldn''t move too much.


    Bora and Katarea dodged all it''s attacks and went to the other side of the room. Katarea snarled while griping her war axe, ready to counter attack. However Bora stopped her.


    ? Katarea...Give me your mana. I''m gonna finish it. ? Said Bora. Katarea looked conflicted but soon nodded and put her hand on his shoulder, a red energy travelling through her arm and entering Bora''s body.


    ? It''s time to end this fight ! ? Said Bora. He walked until he was facing the Spider who was ready to attack him, though it most certainly wouldn''t reach him. However Bora began to walk without a care in the world.     Just when he entered it''s reach and a leg shot towards him, he jumped high and while grabbing his daggers shouted.

    Bora''s body became like the shotgun and the grenade, like it was made out of smoke. He was now just a cloud of smoke that had an humanoid form.


    Katarea looked in a daze as Bora was about to land on the spider but passed right through it, he then stabbed the spider continously. It tried to hit him, but everything went through him. He was now untouchable.


    During a whole minute, he used the daggers to completely destroy the spider.


    ? Phew~This damn spider was really tough. ? Said Bora as he dropped to the ground, laying on a rock as e watched the spider¡¯s corpse disappear slowly. When it finally disappeared, he got up and walked towards the huge web.


    ?  Katarea grab the loot, I¡¯m gonna help those dumbasses. ? Said Bora. He then slashed the web with his daggers, freeing the four hunters. Since they were still uncounscious, Bora decided to slap them until they woke up, which unsurprisingly worked.


    ?  Wha-! ? The apparent leader of the group exclaimed as he looked around. The other three woke up and looked as confused as him.


    ? *Cough* Well hello hunters. I¡¯m the mercenary Bora, and this is my friend Katarea. We accepted a rescue quest and so we came to save you. You are quite lucky the spider didn¡¯t eat you. ? Said Bora as he helped the Leader get up. The other three got up on shaky legs, and looked at Katarea with surprised clear on their faces. Katarea sighed and went besides Bora, clearly telling him to handle them.


    ?  W-Well thank you Bora. I don¡¯t even remember what happened to us to be honest. I think the Guardian attacked us and then brought us here. You really saved us on this one. ? Said the leader bowing to Bora as the other did the same. Bora simply waved his hand to tell them that it was okay, and then the whole group decided to run through the dungeon to escape from it as fast as possible, no one wanted to spend a single second in this dungeon.


    As they escaped from the cave, the hunters turned to Bora and Katarea.


    ?  Thank you for your help, we¡¯ll now return to the Hunter¡¯s guild. We¡¯ll confirm the success of the quest to your guild, so the reward should come quickly. I¡¯ll add a little bonus, to express my gratitude. ? Said the Leader. Bora smiled widely and then proceeded to not listen to the hunters as they all introduced themselves. The hunters then went on their way while Bora and Katarea went back to their hotel room.


    As soon as they arrived, Katarea took the loots out of her storage and put them on the bed. Bora¡¯s eyes widened as the greed appeared in his eyes like always. He scanned each item and then laughed.


    ? Well it looks like my luck as decided to show itself just when I need it. Now I¡¯m finally going to be useful in fights ! ? Exclaimed Bora.


    ?  About that Master, you still haven¡¯t told me what your abilities are. ? Said Katarea. Bora smirked at her and cleared his throat.


    ? Well since I¡¯ve had the time to think about it, I now realized how good they are. So look at my bracelet.......And be amazed ! ?

    Katarea''s eyes widened as she gasped. Looking at Bora she could see he was serious. It seemed that it didn''t take long for them to get serious and start doing some important things instead of lazing around in their hotel room.

    Both Bora and Katarea jumped a little when they heard the phone ringing. Bora then ran to the phone and picked it up without even checking who had called him.


    ?  How are tou doing, Bora ?! ?


    Bora froze as he heard the familiar voice. Katarea was confused for a second before she remembered who that voice belonged to.


    ?  Mister Yama ? ?


    ?  Hahaha ! Call me Yama, I don¡¯t like it when people call me Mister. ?


    ?  Very well then Yama, what can I help you with ? ?


    ?  Well I heard you saved a team of hunters, huh ? You sure work fast. I just called to thank you and remind you that I¡¯m waiting for you to sell any interesting items you get to me. ?


    While Bora was talking to Yama, Katarea had took out all the loot she got from the spider. She already knew her Master would want to sell some stuff, after all he said that they would speed things up now.


    ?  Well I¡¯ve some stuff to sell to you. I will come with the items soon. ?


    ?  Then I shall patiently wait for you, friend ! ? Said Yama before the line went dead.


    Bora stiffly turned towards Katarea who was busy sorting out the loot, he walked while chuckling and gazed at all the loot. He then looked down and grabbed his necklace.


    ¡® Yoru, prepare yourself, because it¡¯s going to be difficult.¡¯


    ¡ä Don¡¯t worry, I know Master. I don¡¯t like it, but we need a lot to get you strong enough to wield your powers.¡¯


    ? Katarea, you finished ? ? Asked Bora in a gruff voice. Katarea nodded and then went besides him. They stood like that for a few minutes, before Bora sighed heavily.


    ?  Katarea, I¡¯ll check the value of each items. I¡¯ll also let Yoru enter your body so he can  multiply the necklaces, they ought to be extremely expensive. ?

 Rookies and Deal

    It had been two weeks since Yama had called them. And during this whole time, Bora and Katarea continued to complete quests. They always chose the quests that would ask them to go to dungeons or monster zones. They hadn''t really become stronger, but they were now used to fight bosses. Bora was finally able to fight against a Boss without having to use his expensive skills.


    After completing so much quests, they started to receive some attention from the guild. Other mercenaries had seen them fight and they naturally talked about it. The combination of a man and a Djinn was rare, so they became quite famous. They were the most interesting rookies of the guild. Which wasn''t incredible given how unimportant the mercenary guild was.


    That was something that Bora discovered pretty soon. Japan heavily relied on Knights orders and magician clans, as such the guilds were useless or atleast people considered them useless. What shocked him even more was the fact that there existed schools for Knights and magicians, but there wasn''t even just a formation center for hunters or mercenaries. Japan was one of the only country in the world that worked like that.


    While Bora was busy learning anything he could today''s world, Katarea was doing something else. She was becoming paranoid. For some reasons, everytime they went outside she felt as if someone was watching them. Sometimes she felt like she was being watched by a powerful being, and other times she felt like someone was just behind them, watching them from behind a corner.


    It was driving her mad but Bora didn''t notice and Yoru refused to say anything about this. What stressed her even more was the fact that Yoru obviously knew something, but he refused to say anything.


    However this didn''t matter as much as their current work. With all the quests they had done, they now had enough items to sell it to Yama. That''s why they were currently walking towards the Hunter''s guild.

    { Yama''s P.O.V }


    Ever since I became the Vice-President of the Hunter''s Guild, I became the leader of all the hunters in Japan. The president was an old man, he was insanely powerful but except scheming in his mansion he did nothing.


    I alone had to carry the whole Guild, and it wasn''t easy. I mean you just had to look at what I did a few weeks ago to know how bad the situation was. I need to buy items from a duo of rookie mercenaries to equip my hunters. All the items were given or sold to the knights pr magicians, so we had pretty much nothing. Oh we had a lot of money, but we couldn''t buy anything.     But I had a good feeling. Most guild''s presidents would laugh at my face if they knew that I placed my hopes on two rookies, but I was still doing it. They had a way to get perfect copies of the same items. I knew only two types of people who could do that. The first had disappeared and the second was something I didn''t want to approach. Either they were a new type, which was good, or they were the second type, and if that was the case.....I just hoped the police would remain as useless as it is now.


    But enough about those dark thoughts. The rookies were here, one of the staff members had called me to tell me they had entered the building a few minutes ago, and were discussing with Hanabi.


    ? They are here ? Said my assistant. I nodded and he opened the door. The man and the Djinn stepped inside and immediately sat on the couch. The man, Bora , was smiling like a fox, while the Djinn was merely looking at me with an expression that said: ? You better not try to mess with us. ?. But well, it''s not like I wanted to scam them. I had money, they had items, we''ll all be happy at the end.


    The room was silent, Bora and I were smiling at each other while my assistant just looked at the ground. The Djinn then put the bag she had in her hand on the table and opened it. She emptied it on the table and.......


    ? H-How ?! ? I asked. I was a calm person, but that was too much. Seeing Bora''s smile, I knew he was waiting for this to happen. Even my assistant was gasping !


    Those two rookies had brought me a lot, and I mean a loooot of crafting materials. I don''t know how all this could fit in this bag but I did not care. There were also copies of the necklace they both had. 10 perfect copies of a powerful necklace, those necklaces alone would be pretty expensive.


    ? You only got crafting materials ? ? I asked. I was pretty surprised by this. I thought they only wanted to sell me crafting materials, however Bora''s bitter smile proved me wrong.


    ? We''ve been lucky when it comes to the crafting materials...However that''s all we''ve got. Seems like it''s difficult to get anything else. ? He said and I had to nod at that. It was nearly impossible to find anything else than crafting materials in low tier dungeons. Though those materials were still quite good. With all those he could make some good equipments for atleast five teams of hunters.


    ?  Well it doesn¡¯t really matter. Show me your God¡¯s Bracelet and I¡¯ll pay you for all those. ? I said. Bora looked confused but nodded nonetheless. He then walked towards me and showed me his God¡¯s Bracelet. I was ready to pay with my own bracelet but my apprentice apparently saw something. He had the ability to see what was written on other people¡¯s bracelet. However his reaction wasn¡¯t really something I expected.


    ? G-G-G........You are a God ?! ?

 Revelation

    ? Wait, wait , wait a second ! What do you mean a God ?! ? Asked Yama, who by now was already out of the couch and shaking his assistant while Bora and Katarea were gasping.


    '' How the hell did he....''

    ? Master I think this situation is going to become complicated real quick. ? Katarea voiced her complain. Bora nodded and glared at the assistant who was stuttering as he told Yama what he had seen on the screen.


    Yama suddenly stopped physically abusing his assistant and took a step back, as if he had been struck. He then looked at Bora, his eyes filled with such fear Bora wondered what his assistant could''ve told him.


    ? It all makes sense.... ? Mumbled Yama as he sat down on the couch. Bora tensed, scared to hear what Yama was going to tell him. He had been in Japan for only a few weeks and someone already knew he was.


    ? You didn''t have a bracelet....You can create copies of items.....You are even more greedy than me.....And most importantly.....A few weeks ago a report came from a group of scientists that had been sent in Korea to conduct researches on an ancient temple that was said to be the place where the last evil god was located.....The God of Greed ! ? Shouted Yama as he pointed his finger at Bora. Katarea grabbed her war axe as soon as she heard that while Bora''s jaw dropped.


    They both thought that the situation had become worse than it possibly could, but Yama suddenly laughed.


    ? Hahaha, don''t be so tense your highness. I won''t tell it to anyone. Though some people already knew it. ? Exclaimed Yama.


    ? Wait a second there ! What do you mean some people already knew it ?! ? Shouted Katarea, her grip on her weapon so tight it looked like said weapon was about to break.


    ? Didn''t you feel like someone was watching you recently ? As if you were constantly followed ? ? Asked Yama. Katarea''s eyes widened and her axe fell to the geound.

    The tension in the room became even heavier as not only Katarea but Bora too was glaring at Yama who looked as relaxed as possible. Though his assistant was making himself as small as possible.

    ¡® I¡¯ll explain later ! For now just get the hell put of here ! ¡® Roared Yoru. Bora was shaken by his Aria¡¯s outburst but he said nothing and got up. Katarea picked her axe from the ground and followed Bora. He then approached Yama and lifted his arm, showing him his bracelet. Yama quickly understood and brought his own bracelet against Yama¡¯s. A little * Ding * was heard and Bora turned towards the door. He then exited the room but not before he shot the assistant a last glare.


    Bora quickly went outside and decided to head straight for the hotel. Katarea followed him, unsure as to why he looked so angry. The situation didn¡¯t seem all that bad, given that only the god and a single woman knew about her master¡¯s identity.


    When they arrived in front of the hotel, Bora froze as he saw a woman who was sitting on a bench just a few meters away, smoking a cigarette. Katarea was surprised by the how beautiful this woman was, after all Djinns like all demons respected not only strengh but beauty.


    ? That¡¯s mirai apparently. Yoru just told me she was there the day we arrived in japan, spying on us while I was complaining about the plane. ?


    This surprised her even more. It seemed that this was what Yoru was hiding. But she still failed to understand why Bora looked so angry. It¡¯s not like the woman could be dangerous for them, she was just......The best knight in all of japan. Katarea tensed as she suddenly realised how shitty the current situation truly was.


    The woman had yet to see them, and Bora didn¡¯t seemed to really want her to. Katarea was about to ask him what they should do, but Bora suddenly lifted his hand to prevent her from speaking. She quickly understood he was having a conversation with Yoru.


    ¡® So.....Any idea on how she came to know who I am ?¡¯


    ¡äMaster I understood who she is only just now so don¡¯t be angry at me. She is......Ughh she is part of the Greed¡¯s cult. She is one of your worshipper, atleast I think so.¡¯

There is an army of people who worship me and who waited for my awakening during the whole time I was in that damn statue, and you only tell me now ?!.......You know what, just tell me what I need to know.     Bora wasn¡¯t necessarily a man who liked to stay in the shadows. He liked to receive attention, but that was just completely crazy. He was still too weak to receive the attention of the Gods AND thousands of people who consider him as a god. While he was one it was only in name, he didn¡¯t nearly have the power to truly be considered one. Plus the first God of greed was sealed by the other gods, so he wasn¡¯t very happy that those same Gods knew who he was.


    ¡ä This woman will be useful. Everyone will become useful to you. Master I know all about you, I know your true feelings. You can¡¯t lie to me.....So you know what ? Just do whatever you want. I can assure you that you will never face anything that could seriously threaten your very existence. I know a way to get some energy back so you can spend all you want. I know what is the consequence of you being bored, and I don¡¯t want it to happen. So to hell with it ! Live the life you want to live, you¡¯re supposed to be an evil god, and Greed is known to be the most powerful son. One that could give someone enough power to defy the highest gods !¡¯


    And just like that.....The dam broke.

    Katarea had no time to react. In a second, Bora¡¯s lips were touching hers. She felt like her vital energy was being depleted, like she was being drained. Bora took a step back and sighed in content. The Djinn blinked, unable to understand what had just happened, but Bora explained before she could ask.


    ?  I just copied your abilities. Though I can¡¯t use them to their full potential because I don¡¯t have the body for it, it should¡¯ve made me become tier three I think......Yeah the bracelet says tier three. ?


    ?  But.....But I thought you had a limited amount of divine energy ! ?

    Katarea looked at her Master with awe filled eyes. She thought it would take time, but it seems that as she first thought he wasn¡¯t able to contain his feelings. The greed was just too much to contain. And now the God of Greed finally awokened.

    Bora spoke and walked in a more relaxed way. He was calm and serious usually, but it seems that it was just a facade. The real Bora wasn¡¯t like that. The real Bora was the man who was approaching Japan¡¯s first Knight as if he was an adventurer who had found a great treasure, his eyes shone with greed as the woman turned toward him and smiled slightly.


    ?  I¡¯m truly happy to meet you, Bora. As you most certainly already know I¡¯m Mirai, the Head Knight of the Thorny Rose¡¯s order. ?


    ?  * Smirk* And a worshipper of the God of Greed. ?


    ?  I see you already know a lot. Well I won¡¯t bother with meaningless presentation then. I have decided to approach you for a single reason. As you know you have a lot of worshippers, like the other evil gods have a lot of human worshippers. However you are a new God. Some cults may see in a bad light because of that. Even your own worshipers might not exactly like you. After all after the gods appeared on earth, the ancient God of Greed was present. Though he was in a reduced state and was forced to hide in the shadows. The members of the cult knows him, but you¡¯re an unknown, so don¡¯t expect them to trust you instantly. I will make sure that no one tries anything against you, but I can¡¯t be everywhere. ?


    Bora¡¯s smirk had faded, and his face was now dangerously close to Mirai¡¯s. He was glaring at her with eyes that could¡¯ve pierced the soul of someone weaker. However she was still stronger than him.....For now atleast.


    And even then, she was pleasantly surprised to sense that he was already at tier three. What most people didn¡¯t know was that it was quite difficult to climb the ranks at some points. It was difficult to go from a certain tier to another, but it only worked for certain tiers. It was like this for the tier 2 and 10. To go from 2 to 3 would require an immense amount of power growth, let¡¯s not even talk about the other.


    ?  And what about you ? You seem to trust me quite easily. ?


    ? Well......Let¡¯s just say I had a friend who said great things about you. Although I won¡¯t be able to help you in other ways, I¡¯ll still protect you....If you need protection that is. ?


    ?  Oh I can assure you that I won¡¯t need it. Oh and could you atleast tell me what type of people are my worshippers. From what I can remember those worshippers of wrath created something called the Nazi , so I¡¯m curious about my own worshippers. ?


    Suddenly Mirai¡¯s whole body shook, her eyes rolled to the back of her head, and she nearly fell on her butt. Bora caught her as she convulsed but quickly came back as if nothing had happened.


    She got up on her legs and looked around as if someone was watching her. She then whispered something that Bora could catch with his keen senses.


    ?  It seems I¡¯m not allowed to talk about the Void.....Those damn tyrants. ?

 Playtime is over

    It needs to be said that Katarea was, like most demons, very attracted to power. However since she is a Djinn, that attraction is quite different. While Demons would respect power, Djinns, like succubus and incubus, would lust after power and the ones who hold it.


    That is why the sudden change in Bora''s behaviour was quite dangerous for her. The woman who was talking to him was the strongest knight in all of japan, and yet he looked at her like she was merely a stepping stone. Just that made Katarea''s cheeks become slightly dusted in red.


    However at some point, for reasons that she didn''t know of, Mirai suddenly became incredibly agitated and glared at something that only her seemed to see. Which wasn''t exactly the case, and that is why while Bora was confused as to why Mirai was being so aggressive, his confusion only grew when he sas that Katarea had frozen in fear. She was fixating something too, both her and Mirai were looking at something but he couldn''t see it.


    He did guess that it had to do with this organization called Void which now appeared to be more dangerous than he had first thought.


    ? Bora.....Get back to your hotel room. It seems that we can''t talk to each other like that for now. I''ll call you if any problem appears. ?


    And with that, the Head Knight of the most powerful Knight Order in Japan walked away. Bora did catch a shadow moving at a frightening speed in the corner of his eye, but he couldn''t see more.


    Shaking his head, he lifted the still frozen Katarea from the ground and carried her all the way to the room.


    A few minutes later, the Djinn finally snapped out of it and looked around, completely lost.


    ? You suddenly froze while looking at something. Both you and Mirai were looking at that thing, though I don''t think you would tell me what it was even if i asked you. ?


    As Bora predicted, Katarea just looked into his eyes but refused to say anything. He sighed and got up from the bed.


    ? While you were frozen, I talked with Yoru a bit. According to his calculations, I should have enough divine energy to reach the tier 7 which would be enough to make one of the strongest humans. I will just continue to use my powers on whatever I find useful and receive as much help I can from Yama.     Entering a mall filled to the brim with people, two men drenched in blood dropped to the ground, bandaging themselves. On their foreheads, the Thorny Rose¡¯s emblem could be seen. They were both breathing heavily and couldn¡¯t get up even if they tried. One was looking around in fear while the other took out a cigarette from his pocket.


    ?  You¡¯re gonna smoke in this situation ?! ? Asked the first one in indignation.


    ? Sorry, It¡¯s a habit I picked from Miss Mirai. Though it¡¯s already too late, so it¡¯s not very important whether I¡¯m smoking or not. I mean look at all those people.....Isn¡¯t there something weird ? ?


    ? They....They are not even looking at us..... ?


    The first man laid on his back as he let out a hollow laugh. The second one lit up his cigarette but a little boy passing by with his mother suddenly snatched it. The two men instantly tensed as they watched the mother continuing without her son who was now smirking.


    ?  Did no one ever tell you how dangerous those things are, Mister ? Seriously that¡¯s bad for your health......Well not as dangerous as me of course.....*Nom**Nom* ?


    The two men were dumbfounded as the boy suddenly started to eat the cigarette while looking at them with his innocent eyes. They both looked at each other and begrudgingly got up. And then, in a single second they both moved so fast they reached the other end of the mall before the other people could ask themselves what happened.


    ?  Run ! ?


    They both screamed as they saw an incredibly muscular man sitting on a bench. The man lifted his head and watched in slight surprised as the two ran towards him, while everyone around them turned towards the two and glared at them.


    The man quickly got the message so he dashed forward and grabbed the men before making a desperate run for the exit. Unfortunately, it seems his hope disappeared as soon as the exit came into view.


    He felt the two men being grabbed by numerous hands that tried to get them out of the man¡¯s arms. The man was quite strong and could easily keep the men but he dropped them to the ground, his eyes widening to comical proportions as he saw what was in front of the exit.


    A man, his face hidden by his wet long black hair, was sitting in front of the exit, a katana that was resting on his shoulder between his legs. The man was dressed in a rather simple blue traditional japanese robe, and didn¡¯t wear any shoes. The man lifted his head and........


    The muscular man felt his mind become blank as two fiery glowing orbs glared at him.


    ?  So you got into contact with an evil god.....Oh poor child, how foolish you were, Chimamire Yama. ?

 Abandoned

    A few days had passed since Bora and Katarea had met Mirai. The two had continued taking on quests but the difficulty had been greatly reduced since Bora had copied Katarea''s abilities. They completed many quests, but maybe a little too many.


    While most people still didn''t know them, some veteran mercenaries began to notice their incredible growth. This unwanted attention made Katarea a bit weary but she didn''t show it. Recently Bora had been so happy that she didn''t want to spoil his fun in anyway.


    Bora had tried to contact Yama but surprisingly he didn''t respond. A quick visit to the guild confirmed that Yama had been away for the last few days and hadn''t contacted anyone.


    Which is why Bora and Katarea were now inside a mall, sitting on a bench while waiting for Yama''s assistant who had personally asked for them.


    They scanned their surrounding while waiting for the man. He had told them that this place was the last one Yama went to, but nothing seemed off. Nothing except for something that Bora had picked off the ground.


    *Cough*


    Looking in front of them, they saw the assistant. He seemed a bit pale and had dark circles under his eyes but that wasn''t really anything shocking.


    ? Before you even start explaining stuff to us, I need you to take a look at this. I found that near the north entrance. ?


    The assistant trembled as he accepted the box that Bora gave him. Opening it, his eyes widened as he saw the picture inside and he suddenly closed it. He then gasped, his eyes glued to the mark that had been carved on the box.


    ? While our guild is going through a rough time, we still have some pretty big events happening. One of them is the attempt at conquering a tier 9 dungeon that is located near the suicide forest, I think you''ve already heard of it. One of our best team is on the move, but I think it will be better if we ask for a little help.     Bora and Katarea looked at each other, confused as to why the man had changed the subject, but before they could even ask the man opened his mouth once again, his tone carrying great fear.

    Bora watched dumbstruck as the assistant walked away. Even Katarea was utterly shocked, her eyes were wide and she was busy blinking as if to confirm whether what she thought just happened really happened.

    Looking at each other, they both slowly got up and walked in the opposite direction, still gaping like fishes.

    Looking at Katarea who had already lost patience, Bora smirked slightly but then immediately went serious.


    '' I still don''t get why that guy acted that way. It was quite weird to see. He went into shock because of the box and instantly changed the subject. ''


    '' Well it was to be expected Master. That box belonged to Yama, atleast I think, so it''s pretty obvious he thought the guy is dead.''


    ''Hmmmm.....It''s still weird. I can''t help but think I should''ve opened that box. But sell it''s too late to think about it and it seems like those fuckers are finally here. ''


    Bora glared at the team who had just arrived. They looked like a team of knights even though they were hunters, most of them wore heavy armors except for the archer in the back. The leader of the group also seemed to be the archer, a girl no older than 18 with golden hair, blue eyes and a pretty face stuck in a permanent frown. She wore some simple clothes, a grey sweatshirt and some blue pants with sneakers. Her clothes didn''t really stood out, but her bow sure did.


    It was entirely black and covered in intriguing red lines. It was so big that the girl couldn''t even put it on her back, and even the arrows were special. They were coated in some strange blue liquid that shone and looked like it could paralyze and kill anything.


    ? So...Might explaining why you are all late ? ?


    As if they were quite angered by Bora''s statement the team members all went to speak to him, but the girl suddenly shot an arrow at him.
