《An Abnormal Kobold》 Prologue Walking home on an ordinary rainy day, i thought everything would all go normally. But oh, how wrong i was.
Splish, splash, splish, splash. The sound of my feet hitting the wet pavement resounded in my ears. I was running to my job on a rainy day. The way to my job was very boring, there was nothing different than the next. My life was just this for as long as I could remember. Eat, go to work, have some free time, eat, sleep, and repeat. There was also this cold feeling going throughout my entire body. I felt my ability to move was completely gone, my head falling sideways. I looked around and all I could see was blood. The cold feeling got stronger and stronger until it felt as if I was on fire. And That''s also when the pain stopped. I was confused, I could feel my body again, but this time it was different. So i did the only thing I could at the moment, i yelled. "What the fuck!?" All that came out of my mouth though were whines similar to a dog. "EHHHH" I tried to open my eyes but when I opened them a blinding light was all I could see. I tried to move, but I couldn''t even do that, I just trembled a bit. "Where am I!?" Once again, whines were the only thing that came out of my mouth. I tried moving again and I felt something... weird. I had a tail. A FUCKING TAIL. "What am I?!" How am I supposed to process that I wasn''t a human anymore. I just tried to remember what my mom used to say, or, well, I would if I could remember my mom. Chapter 1 I''m tired. But what am i? I could feel that my skin and face were much more different than it should be. I also have a tail! I can''t even open my eyes yet, and if i try to I''m blinded by light. But I''m so tired. I''ll try to figure this out tomorrow. I let my body rest on the hard and cold surface i was on, and drifted off into dreamland. I could faintly hear footsteps and other indistinguishable noises.Stolen novel; please report. It took me around 5 minutes to go to sleep, the fastest its been in my entire life that i could go to sleep so fast. I awake to the sound of footsteps coming closer to me. After I hear that a grumbling sound comes from my stomach. I then hear something different than the footsteps ive been hearing for the past day I''ve been here. "Splosh" The sound carried with it the smell of meat. I try to crawl towards the delicious smell coming from the thing that hit the floor, but I''m stopped by a furry hand picking me up. Come on, i want this food. I was moved towards some other direction and placed next to another furry thing. I get the desire to go towards the furry thing, and so i do, i was never one that wouldn''t trust their gut feeling. I put my mouth on something and start sucking. A fluid enters my mouth and goes down my throat, it''s only then that i start questioning my situation. What is this? Why is their milk coming out of it? I don''t really pay attention to those thoughts until I''m full. I try to open my eyes, but to no avail. Wait, Where even am I? Chapter 2 My old life was pretty boring, I would just go to work, eat, sleep repeat. My new life was starting to get pretty similar, but without the work part, and i can''t see, and i don''t even think im a human anymore, yeah it''s not that similar at all. But it''s not that bad. All i do every day is try to open my eyes, get blinded, then eat and sleep. Its been going on like this for 5 days i think, i can''t really tell time except for sleeping. I was once again trying to open my eyes today, and i could finally see! I looked around, It was pretty dark and then i looked at myself. I was completely covered in fur, and had a long snout similar to a wolfs. I was pretty much a bipedal wolf. I could hear a sound i was very familiar with for these past few days i haven''t been a human, it was the thing that usually fed me every day. Looking towards the noise i could see something similar to me, the only things that were different were the fur color and the height. It was 3 times my size and its fur was a light brown color similar to oak wood. It looked at me with dark blue eyes and crouched next to me. It looked straight into my eyes and, then picked me up. I was taken to somewhere i hadn''t seen before, it was the outside of that cave. I looked around, all I could see were trees that were easily as tall as a ten-story building. I was wondering what was happening since I was being taken very far from the cave. After around 10 minutes of walking, I was put onto the ground. It started to walk away. Wait what are you doing!? Come back! I was just left there to think about how i was going to die too. Maybe an animal will come kill me? maybe ill just die of dehydration or starvation? Please come back! I felt hopeless just sitting there so i started to move. The first thing to do when you are out in the wilderness is to find water, so i did just that. Walking for 10 minutes felt i just did a 10-mile run. My legs were shaking like crazy and cramps were everywhere. Looking around i found somewhere to rest. It was a tree that had a pretty large hole in it. Going into the hole i was relieved that nothing was inside of it. Trying to fall asleep with an empty stomach was very hard, but i got to sleep. Chapter 3 Waking up from the empty stomach and the crampiness of the tree didn''t feel good at all. I got out of the tree and looked around for anything that looked edible. Nothing, there was nothing to eat. Remembering the problem of having no water, i started my journey again. Pain was all i could feel at the moment. Being only 6 days old and walking in a forest without food or water was not very pleasant. Why!? Why was i thrown away like a piece of trash!? My own mother threw me into the forest without any remorse! I was snapped out of my daydreaming by the sound of rushing water. Finally! Walking towards the river and scooping up some water in my paws, or are they considered hands? I drank the water and looked at the creek. It was pretty small and shallow, around 2 feet deep and 5 feet across. I looked down at the river to get more water but looked at my reflection in the river. My eyes were a very bright red, they seemed to be glowing. "Rustle" I turned around and looked at the direction the noise came from. Slowly getting up and getting into an amateur fighting stance. A bunny hopped out of the bush and scurried away. I guess i should find some food now. Slowly walking away from the river i went to go hunt for something to eat. After around 10 minutes of sitting in a bush, i started to get impatient. Just where are all the animals at? My question was soon answered by a creature that was running towards the creek while making panting. I looked to see what it was and i soon figured out it was not just one animal. There was a large wolf that had a horn on its head running after the deer that had multiple bite marks and scratches on its body. What the fuck is that?! Chapter 4 What the fuck is that?! I accidentally let out a bark. Which completely got rid of my little safe spot. The weird wolf looked at me and growled before going to get the deer. It ripped out its throat and clawed its stomach open. It was my first time seeing so much blood and gore, and I did what most people would... I vomited, but with nothing in my stomach, it was just dry. I tried to hide but i remembered the wolf already found out i was here. So i waited... and i waited until the wolf had its fill of its catch. It left after eating around half of the corpse. I slowly walked towards the remaining meat and started to eat. I had no opposition as i was starving to death and the only thing to eat was this corpse. I ate until i found a weird stone in the middle of the corpse where the heart should be. After holding it in my paws i felt an urge to eat it, so I did, and i may or may not have regretted that decision. Pain, that was all i could feel for the past few days, maybe weeks, or maybe even years. But the only thing i knew was that every cell in my body was changing, and it did not feel good at all. It felt like every cell in my body was on fire and splitting apart. Chapter 5 Waking up felt like shit! It was like every single bone, muscle, and organ were remade. And there was a big blue light in front of my face.

Well, i guess that makes perfect sense. I might have to practice using this magic because keeping this flame here is making me kind of sleepy. I think that my mana or whatever is going low, because I''m feeling really tired right now. "Yawn." And another very boring and uneventful day passes. Chapter 7 I started to walk around the forest in search of a rabbit or something. I started humming but it only came out in little growls even a rabbit wouldn''t be scared of. After around five very uneventful minutes, i finally found a...Bunny? It didn''t look anything like a bunny beside the size, ears, and hair. First of all its teeth looked like fucking knives that would make anyone flinch upon looking at them. And the eyes looked like A deep pit that was filled with red in middle. The only thought that i had was "That''s a fucking demon!" I decided to not fuck with the demon. Wait, aren''t people that are reincarnated have like appraisal or something?

After i almost touched it, its neck went all poltergeist on me and moved back into place. It started to jump at me and scratch me. I punched it back as it flew away and landed on its head, a cracking sound could be heard and blood poured out of its mouth. [Level up!] I walked towards the body and tried to not pay any attention to the 30 cuts all around my body. "I think i absorb it by eating the marble thing in the middle." After stabbing my hand through the stomach of it i started moving it around. After i felt a weird ball where the stomach should''ve been, i grabbed it and pulled my hand out. I look at the red ball that was in my hand covered in its blood. "Well, here goes nothing." I threw it into my mouth like it was a piece of popcorn. ... ... I waited for a while wondering what would happen, but then i felt it. "This hurts like hell!" I fell unconscious right in the middle of the forest. Chapter 8 Life plays out, even when you get tossed into a demon forest as a small wolf thing that was born around a month ago. The few days I''ve been in this forest are all pretty short, or mean nothing, like that one time i passed out right after using some illusion magic. Or that one time i fought that demon rabbit... i don''t want to remember that. But today, I''m going to figure out how to actually use magic. You might ask, but sir didn''t you pass out last time you tried that? and the answer to that question would be yes. I''m just doing this because this forest is scary and i want to be able to do something to not die of boredom. My last life was pretty boring but at least i always had something to do. So Mrs system thing can you tell me how to use magic?

Well ill try to make a ball of water this time. So i just fell the weird ball in my chest and then i just think about what i want to be made. After letting fall to the ground in just made a little fake puddle. Wait, if i can make something like this permanent i could make a little fake house. So now I''m going to try and make myself invisible. the system said i could do that. So instead of making my magic come out of my fingers how about i make it come out of my skin, or fur. So ill just feel that magic core and think about invisibility. And when i opened my eyes couldn''t see. Well i guess the science behind things still exist. If i was invisible that would mean no light would hit me, and that would also mean it wouldn''t pass through my eyes, making me not able to see. Wait! If this is illusion magic that means it isn''t real. And that would mean that it would only make it look like i was invisible instead of actually being invisible. Soon after i thought about that my vision came back. I guess the way you think about things affects my magic. Then i passed out again. And another uneventful day passes. Chapter 9 I''ve been in this forest for about a year or so. I grew to be about the same size as a normal person 2 months ago and i have grown since The life of living like this in a demon forest with nobody but yourself gets to you sometimes. I needed something to talk with to keep my sanity. It''s kind of like that movie called CastAway, but instead of a volleyball, it''s a pillow made with illusion magic. It had a face drawn in with a fake marker i made with magic. You might be wondering why the hell i haven''t tried to get out of the forest, it''s simple. I did. But when i did try to get out of the forest there were even stronger demons and there were more of them. At least I''ve done some productive things during this time frame, i killed a bunch of demon rabbits then ate the magic thing, and i also practiced my magic a lot. So if i were to compare. I was looking for a demon rabbit den, which looks like the portal to the upside-down from stranger things, but filled with demon rabbits The way i killed them all was pretty simple, make some fake meat to lure the rabbits out. But today i couldn''t find any, which was weird because they just appear out of nowhere and then disappear when all the rabbits are dead. But that wasn''t the problem right now, it was that the weird wolf that i saw when i was first thrown into this forest was looking directly at me with hungry eyes. "Oh shit." was the first thing that came out of my mouth, but it only sounded like a growl. I started to make myself invisible when it started to slowly walk towards me. Its nose twitched a couple of times before it looked right at me. "I''m fucked" was the last thought i had before i started running away. But it followed me. Chapter 10 "Huh" "huh". I was back at the bush i usually slept in. Did i lose it? I started scanning the area, looking at every place i could. After a minute of looking if the horned wolf was there, I stopped. I couldn''t help but to be on guard, because i felt like something was watching me from somewhere, and they didn''t have any good intentions. I sat down in the bush, my guard still up, and my invisibility magic off so i didn''t waste my mana. I stayed awake for around 2 hours before i started to lay down. It''s a good thing that i didn''t go to sleep right there or i wouldn''t have seen it coming. It was the horned wolf, and it had a shit-eating grin that looked absolutely terrifying. I then realized the flaw i had with my invisibility, they could smell and hear. I tried to fix these flaws while i was running, but my concentration kept focussing on the devilish wolf that was trotting towards me. I could clearly tell that it was toying with me. After around 5 minutes of this, it got impatient and started to bite at me. I kept running anyway, tying to see if there were any ways to kill it. Wait... can''t i just make it think i was gone? So, i just have to make it think that i was never there to begin with. I started to do my business, and messing with brains is much harder than it sounded like. I had to add memories that were never there, then get rid of all of the other memories... wait, can''t i just make him as dumb as a vegetable, because that requires less work and you don''t have to be careful, you just get rid of all of his memories and senses. I tried out this method, and holy shit it worked, and holy shit my mana is almost empty. The wolf just kind of flopped on the ground from the momentum he got when running. I turned off my invisibility because if i had it on id probably pass out in 3 seconds. I walked towards the vegetable wolf, and started to use my claws to get through the fur and take the mana core. After quite an unpleasant experience i still haven''t gotten used to, i brought my hand out with the mana core. It was bright yellow and twice as big as the rabbit''s cores. And so, i plopped it in my mouth, waiting for the pain to begin. ... ... "AHHHHHHH" It was a pain so painful that it felt like every single cell in my body was on fire. Then i passed out.
