He was so happy we was already preparing to give some of his toys to his baby brother. He was wondering how did she get pregnant if there was not father. He knows from that one time when mother telled him that a mother needs to love someone to have kids. He quickly dismissed those thoughts, because he was going to have a brother and he didn''t particulary care either way at that time. And at the age of 5, the day had come when his brother was to be born, Mark was basically with his mother at the hospital, waiting unpatiently. To him, every second was like a minute, and every minute was a hour. What he didn''t know at that time, was there were some complications to his brothers birth. 3 hours later, or was it 4, or 5? He didn''t even know. He lost a sense of time right there and then. His brother died right after being born. He was at a loss of words. He didn''t even know how to react. Was he meant to cry? Was he meant to be angry? Was he meant to be shocked? He stood there, inside one of the hospital wings, motionless. Not even a trace of movement was seen on Mark. His face was showing no emotion, at least that was what was shown to people present. But inside Mark, was sad, angryand shocked. He was sad, because his brother died. Just like that.His brother, that he could''ve talked to, played with and in the future, help him if the need arises. He wasangry, because his brother died. The aura itself was invisible to human eye, but at the same time, it showed the color that represented all the darkness of this world. It was black... Then from the lips of that boy, certain words were said that would scare and change everyone present there. Certain words that would change everything in the future. His mother was fine, atleast physically. After the death of his brother, she was really depressed and sad, the only thing that prevented her from commiting suicide was her son Mark. Mark entered school at the age of 7. There he made some friends, sometimes was bullied, but he didnt mind and forgot that, and they eventually stop bullying him. He was average at school regarding his grades, not bad, but not that good either. It was right before he finished his school and was to enter highschool at the age of 14, he was asked what would he want to be in the future by his own mother. To which he responded with: "I want to be a doctor mom, so that I can help to prevent other people and kids just like me from dying for no reason." Mark has recovered mostly from his brother''s death, but that still left his a deep scar on bis soul that will never be recovered. And from that scar, he got a resolve, that was to help other people. To help people live best of their lives. He wanted people to live. To help them live their life. He wanted to especially help kids live. And that was why he wanted to become a doctor. Sure it may be clichegoal in life, but atleast he would help someone. He knew that he couldn''t help everyone, but atleast he would do his part in this world and age. He got through highschool sucessfully, his grades were perfect, noone bullied him, actually everyone respected him for some reason. He didn''t know since noone from outside of his family and some doctors knew that he had a brother, even if for a few minutes, and that he was dead. He even got a girlfriend. To him she was the prettiest thing ever in his life, and would not give her up for even if he was offered to be a god in exchange for her. Right now, he is going to a medical university. This is his first day and another step in achieving his goal in life. Right besides him is his best friend, Michael. They knew each other ever since kindergarten, and are in contact every day. All day they are laughing, joking and some times playing video games and doing pranks on others even. While they were talking, suddenly Michael looked towards his left hand, where his watch is. Out of nowhere, he murmured something not even a god could''ve heard. "Five minutes and 36 seconds left huh..?" Of course, even though Mark didn''t hear exactly what Michael said, he heard some sounds. "Mike, have you heard something? I can swear I heard someone say something but I don''t know what." Michael suddenly lift up up his face and looked at Mark with anger and shock for a microsecond, then his face came back to normal and said: "No Mark, I didn''t hear anything." "Hm, strange... Maybe its just the world playing tricks on me?" "Who knows, anyway, I need to go and get some things done. Wanna go to eat something after classes are finished?" "Sure, why not? Anyway then see you around." "Yeah, see ya !" After Michael left, Mark continued walking towards his new University. When suddenly he saw his girfriend out of nowhere walking on the road trying to get to ths other side of the street. Then suddenly, he saw a truck going very fast towards her. She will not be able to make it even if she runs as fast as she could. He immediately knew what to do. He dropped his backback behind him, so he can ge trid of unnecessary weight on his body, and immediately rushed towards her. "EMILIA !!! Right before truck was meant to hit her, he pushed her forward and saved her from truck hitting her. He was happy, knowing that he saved his girfriend, that he saved one life. Happy that he saved someone... Then suddenly, he felt big pain to his side. He felt and heard all of his bones to his right side breaking like they were nothing. Right at that moment, he knew he would be dead, if not by anything, just by his bones breaking he knew that even if he survived after being hit, it would not be long before he died anyway. After that, he relived every moment of his life inside his mind. His birth, first time walking and talking, his father leaving him, his mother becoming pregnant, his brother dying right after his birth, him getting his first friend Michael, him getting into school, him meeting his girfriend, Emilia for first time up to this moment. He was sad knowing his mother will cry a lot because he died, because his girlfriend will too. Michael probably wouldnt cry, but he would be sad too surely. But he was happy knowing he atleast saved one life. Then suddenly he began asking himself again inside his mind the same question he asked the doctors right after the death of his brother. Chapter 1 [Location: Outer Treskiri, Chaos Farlands] [Date: ??/??/????] In a center of a certain hill that is surrounded by plains that are 100 of km wide, lies an egg. That egg is very large, compared to normal eggs from Earth, it is half a meter in height and quarter of a meter wide. The egg is of a black color, but not normal black. That color is so black that it itself may be from the Abyss below Treskiri. Suddenly, on the egg, a small crack appeared, right on the top. That crack was pure white, glowing, totally contrary to what some would expect from the pure black egg. From that small crack other started appearing, connecting with each other. In a span of a few seconds cracks were everywhere on the egg, but the egg as a whole was still intact. Few minutes passed in silence as the egg remained the same as before, still full of cracks but not breaking. Suddenly, out of nowhere, black clouds started appearing above the hill where the egg resides. They all were moving to the point exactly above the egg, merging with other clouds until only one, very dense black cloud remained. That black cloud suddenly had multiple lighting sparks merging together right above the egg. When they merged, a huge lighting strike that is as wide as an entire hill hit the egg. The hill and all the surroundings up to 100 meters away from the egg began to burn. It was a blazing inferno that didn''t spare any living being that was in it. But suprisingly the egg was intact, not even moving an inch from its original spot, not damaged at all. After a few minutes, the fire suddenly stopped and the circle of 100m was black due to blazing inferno, with nothing being spared. Right at the center of that circle was the egg, still completely intact, still full of cracks like before. Suddenly, everything that was black, like ashes, burnt skin and bonesstarted moving towards the egg at the center. All the blacknessthat was moving towards the egg started returning the landscape that it was on to its original shape and color, like the blazing inferno never happened. When the blacknesstouched the egg, it dissapeared inside the egg. When all the blacknessfrom the surrounding circle got sucked into the egg, the cracks started aplearing again until the egg was glowing white due to cracks, no traces of original black on the egg remained. Second later, the cracks dissapeared and the black egg was returned to the original shape. Another second later, a pure black hand broke through the right side of the egg. ------------------------------------------------------------- Right after I heard that mechanical voice say that I was dead, pure blackness enveloped me. After that, I lost conciousness and after unknown period of time, I appeared inside some sort of egg shaped object. Inside it was black, not as pure black as before, but still black. I could only deduce that since it seems my eyesight is bad inside the egg, or is not just developed enough. Now that I mention it seems that I was reincarnated as a some sort of a dark dragon ? But I''m still in an egg goddamnit, did that system or whatever lie to me ?!? Well, no use in bragging, I should try to get out of this egg and see where the hell I am. Wait. I am stupid. If I have a system, shouldn''t I be able to see my stats and such? I have read enough novels to know the first things you should do when you''re reincarnated is to check your status. [Dark Flame LVL 1] [Dark Flame is a unique,first of its kind form of Dragonic Flames only manifested on Darkness Dragons. When fired at a living being, the pure black flames will put a debuff on a opponent gradually reducing HP and MP of the opponent. Can be countered with holy water or by holy artifacts and Holy Magic] Interesting, since I am a dragon its natural to have a flame I can fire from my mouth, and this flame seems OP according to my standards. I can even use this on stronger opponents whem I have no chance of beating them and gradually wait for the debuff to kill them. Alright next ones [Dark Dragon Scales LVL 1] [Dark Dragon Scales are the outer scales that protect the skin of the dragon. They are incredibly hard and can only be destroyed by beings that are 1 Rank or more above you, and can be destroyed by Holy Artifacts or Holy Magic ] [Fangs of Darkness LVL 1] [Fangs of Darkness is a skill that let''s the Dragon cover its fangs with Shadow Magic that is of lower strenght and rank than actual and more potent Dark Magic. Beings that are damaged by these fangs gain a debuff that lowers stats of a being by 15%-20%. Debuff can be removed using Holy Water and Holy Magic. ] [Dark Aura LVL 1] [Dark Aura is a Aura of Dark Magic that envelops everything in 5 meters from it''s user. Beings that are inside this aura experience fear, anger, shock or all of these emotions at the same time. The effect of the aura doesnt work on Holy Beings and naturally gets weaker the stronger the opponent is ] Those are some interesting skills that I have got by hust being a part of Darkness Dragon Species. With Dark Dragon Scales, I am essentialy untouchable if you''re of same rank or lower than me... The only I should be careful of are holy beast and holy magicians, but I think there may not be much of those in this... hell. Dark Aura seems to be a passive skill, along with Dark Dragon Scales, which is good since if it wasn''t I don''t know when I would ever activate it since it sounds it would deplete my current MP reserves in seconds. Title : [Progenitor] [This title is extremely rare since only the Progenitors of their race hold this skill. You''re the progenitor of Darkness Dragons, the first of them all. Along with this you get natural 2X EXP bonus whenever you kill an enemy of any rank and any species, with no exeptions.] ... Oh my god... this is such a OP title, too much OP even if its extremely rare. 2X EXP value whenever you kill an enemy ?!? Imagine killing an entire army of humans, and getting EXP value like you have killed two armies of same composition. Yeah that''s how OP this Title is. Well since it is given to me I will gladly use it to it''s fullest extent. Thank you very much. Now onto to the next title Title : [Egg Breaker LVL 1] [Egg Breaker is legendary tier skill that is only available if the user completes certain conditions. There were only 4 recorded beings who had this skill since the creation of this world ??? years ago. This skill boosts all stats after every evolution by 1.5X and increases damage by fangs/fists by 10%. The damage can be increased if the LVL of this skill is increased when the title is Leveled UP, althrough the value of stats increased will not increase] "Oh god... another OP title.." I think when humanoids discover me they will put such a high bounty on me that the entire continent will be on the run looking for me. They probably have some skills that can take the skills of another being, which arguably maybe even more OP than those two combined. Well, I can''t think about that now, I got to find some food and there is a group of three demon like rabbits that are a few tens of meters in front of me. I quickly hide under some bushes so they can''t find me, and procceed to analyze their movements. "It seems that they are moving in circles...? Why are they doing that? Well, there will be no food if I don''t move, so I think I will first fire [Dark Flame] and then finish them after good portion of their HP is depleted. Knowing that I prepare my skill, then I feel flames in my lungs going towards my mouth and waiting for it to be fired. After my mouth is full, I immediately jump out out of the bush and fire [Dark Flame] at them. Two of those rabbits are engulfed in the flames and are laying foen on the ground motionless, while the third barely managed to survive while still getting moderately damaged. It seems my [Dark Flames] consume 7 MP per one full usage, which is why even though I have 20 max MP I still have 3 MP left, which gives the answer I was looking for. Leveling up doesnt replenish your MP, and probably doesn''t replenish my HP too, but I don''t know since I still haven''t lost any HP. Wait, does that mean every time I level up, it raises my MP and HP value, but doesn''t replenish them completely if they were already below their maximum before the LVL UP. I don''t know, do I clap the creator of this System for such creativity, or do I curse them because of their idiocy? What I am looking for, is a certain group of monsters that are the same ranks as me. Maybe I can try to find those wolves I saw when I first came into this world. If I remember right, they were two headed, green/blue colored and had a some sort of a horn at top of their heads. Which reminds me, almost all of monsters here have some sort of demon looking traits, such as horns, for example. Also they have word Demon inside their name. So main theme for monsters of this region on this continent is... Demons Well alright, not going to complain, as long as I am getting EXP, I am all good even on exterminating whole Demon Race. Also, I remembered having extra EXP that was left after killing that pig, but it seems it wasn''t enough to LVL UP me to LVL 1. Which goes to prove I need to start killing more stronger monsters. Which is why I am searching for those wolves, since they are the only monsters that are D rank, but are in big groups. Basically a pool of EXP for me. Spending few hours flying in the sky, I finally found a group of 6 of those wolves, including among them a bigger wolf, with an even bigger demon horn. For example, I can shape it in the form of human, wolf, eagle etc... For now, I am using it just for reconnaissance when I am resting, so I dont get attacked while my guard is down. Also, whatever the clone sees, I see it to, which is very convenient. MP cost is also not very high. [Progenitor Flames] is a skill I got after I LVL UP my [Dark Flames] to LVL 5 and essentially, it allows me to heal myself if I warp my body in those flames. Although it restores my HP, it doesnt restore my MP, but atleast it doesnt cost any MP. Which you may say is OP, but the healing process of those is so slow, it is barely noticeable. But I can speed it up if I pour my MP into it, but it costs a lot. Right now, I am standing before a ruin of some sorts, with weird characters written on them. Anyway, there some dragon skeletons, and I even saw some Dragon Undead, which was interesting, but I quickly send them back to the endless Darkness and got myself 2 LVL Up''s. After maybe 5 hours of exploration, I found another big door that was 150 meters in height, with a strange crystal ball that was floating right in front of the same door, right in the center of the room. There were some strange symbols written on it, which I couldn''t understand. It seems its not written in Draconic. I asked the system, and it suggested me to pour a little bit of my mana into the ball, since even it didn''t know what that may be, since it wasn''t recorded in "The System" archive. Since I had nothing to do, I placed my hand onto the ball and pour my mana into the ball. Immediately after that, I feel strong pain inside my head, like no pain I have ever felt. Knowing that the pain is coming from that ball, I try to remove my hand from it, only to see that that ball used my own mana that I poured i to it to bind my hand on it. As the feeling of pain got stronger and stronger, I also knew that if I bring myself to fail uncounscious, that I will die, so whenever the pain got stronger, my determination got more stronger. I don''t know how many hours passed, or was it days... I don''t know how but out of nowhere pain finally stopped and that ball flew from the pillar it was on and flew right towards my chest. Immediately it started breaking through my skin and my bones ,the lain was unimaginably bad that I got a new resistance [Pain Resistance] and it leveled up to LVL 6. Also during my mental battle, I also got [Mental Resistance] and it leveled to MAX After it started tearing through my skin and destroying the surrounding skin and scales too, the ball started moving towards the center of my chest.
