《A Star is Born》 Prologue Mostly normal. For now It was as normal as a normal day could be, cars rushing to and fro, people working, people being born. Suddenly it seemed as if everything froze. there was a message.
The system will start in T-20 years.
Then the world thawed and almost everyone slowly forgot about it except for a few people. Those people received anadditional message. They were prophets, soothsayers, and old hermits. There was also one family who received the sameprivilege. The message was as follows
To rise, there has to be something to rise to. To whatever trial may come The fate will depend on them, Fate works in weird ways and that which was chosen will not be forgotten.
Prophets proclaim the end of the world but don''t say why, old hermits come out, an infant is confused, soothsayers say a star is born. The eyes were hard to describe the colors shifting so fast never being repeated at least, not for a while. Sometimes bright pink, then dark green, to azure blue to night sky purple. Unknown POV. Two people were talking, one was a tall thin but well built old man eyes as grey as stone, and the other was a woman carrying and bouncing a bundle of cloth "Master, where are we going?." a Disciple says carryinga small bundle of cloth holding a precious little girl. The master answers, " We are leaving to find that thing that caused this change and look out for them." "What are you talking about master?" thedisciple wonders aloud. " That is exactly why we are going to find that person, they are sure to be special and will have a bright future ahead of them, we just need to make sure they stay on the right path, who knows your daughter might marry the person,"and the old master also adds offoffhandedly "maybe if its a he and their the same age." The disciple quite quickly replies" I don''t think so master only if its her choice." The master mumbled under his breath, " the world is changing I wonder how you are doing." as he takes out a pendant with a photo of 2 people on their wedding day and starts thumbing the paper as his grey eyes seem to turn greyer." I wonder what will happen dear daughter. After all I think you be fine my Grace." Chapter 1: Growing up After the system message was slowly forgotten, Vincent always remembers a message that came to him as an infant.

From an outside perspective Vincent was a strange boy growing up. He gave an abnormal amount of effort into everything he did. When he was 4 he was very into RPGs beat them within weeks of release. Then when he turned 12 he suddenly started doing athletics. If there was a sport he did it, and he did the very best. He''d pay attention during school but when he turned 15, he started doing well, and he was the best in his classes. He made a few friends throughout the years. His best friend Greg was 5¡¯10¡± tall, thin and lanky, eyes a dark blue, his hair was a dark blue that it seemed almost black, he dyed it every few years. He was very talkative. When vincent is out of the house and down the street Mrs. Vulpes walks into the room ¡±Do you got everything ready?¡± she asks. ¡°Yes,¡° Mars replied,¡± Everyone is in position¡± Greg walks into the room ¡± Did I do my job well?¡± He asks. es you did perfect, in fact that I don''t think he will realize anything is different and I think he will be both happy and angry with us at the same time.¡± ¡°Mars, Nicky thank you for setting everything into motion this will be a fun thing you two are both great sisters to Vincent, we don''t know what will change in a few days he needs at least one more positive memory before things happen.¡± Mr. Vulpes says, ¡±And thank you also for the wonderful help throughout the years we will need you in the coming days.¡± as he walks into the room noticing three of his children, his wife, Vincent¡¯s best friends, Old man Jenkins and the Addams family. ¡°Still dont want to be the ¡®old mentor.¡¯¡± Old man Jenkins says.¡± They always die first in any book doesn''t matter if it is a first rate book or a third rate book.¡± ¡°I just hope that to much won¡¯t change,¡± Nicky says.¡± Do we have a stockpile of food that will last us for a few months?¡± "Yes we do dear.¡± her mother replies. ¡°Just saying the government will collapse in days if not hours when it happens¡± Nicky just sighs,¡± Now we wait for Vincent to get back from the store and we will then stay together for a while as we figure things out.¡± ¡°We thank you for letting us be with you as well,¡± Mr. Addams says. ¡±Ditto¡± Greg says ¡°Now we wait, for waiting is all we can do now we have helped each other as much as possible during the years and we will see how much it pays off.¡± Mr. Vulpes says. Everyone else just nods. Chapter 2: Headaches As Vincent was walking to the store he started to try and see the small details He was looking at everything through a new lense, he knew this would all change in 2 days but he didnt know how much would change. He was paying attention to the smell of fall, the scent of slightly decaying leaves, the smell of winter coming soon. He turned and looked up at the clouds, and he saw the puffiness of the clouds how bright the sky is. The trees a vibrant green, the grass seems to be more green than usual. He then started looking at the stores as he walked by. They seemed normal he didn''t see them any different they looked exactly the same. It unnerved vincent a bit more than he''d like to admit. Then he noticed an old school building, it was his highschool two years ago, they shut it down due to chemical problems. Vincent decided to walk around his old school then he noticed a shimmering around the top window, it was around the old principals office. He peered closer. ¡°What is that shimmering,¡± Vincent thought.¡±It seems to be-----.¡± Vincents thoughts were abruptly stops as he was hit by a huge headache, almost migraine level. ¡°You can do it fight through it i need to see what that shimmering is.¡± As vincent was looking at that shimmering he noticed movement of a limb. As quick as it came it went away. ¡°What was that.¡± Vincent thought, ¡®it might be something important later.¡± ¡°Or I could find out now,¡± a little voice says. ¡°I should not listen to random thoughts.¡± Vincent thinks ¡±But the thought is right.¡± Vincent starts walking towards the building. As he was walking he noticed no matter how far he walked he never went forward. ¡°Huh, weird,¡± Vincent thinks but noticing his actions are futile he leaves it alone and walks to the store.Stolen content alert: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences. ------ When VIncent arrives at the store he looks at the ¡°grocery list.¡± -3 Katanas -4 Sabers -10 Daggers -Don¡¯t get guns -All other weapons you can think of/carry Thanks Mom ¡°What is this list, its like they dont want me home quickly, huh,¡± Vincent laughs. As Vincent was walking around he noticed a mirror in the top corner of the shop, he then noticed his eyes were changing color rapidly. ¡°Huh, that hasn''t happened in a long time,¡± Vincent just laughs it off. ¡°Can I help you?¡± Vincent jumps and twirls around ¡°Sorry you scarred me,¡± he said as he landed back on the ground, slightly perturbed on how he didn''t notice the shop employee. ¡°No problem¡± the employee says with a grin, his teeth looked particularly sharp to Vincent for some reason. ¡° I have been spacing out for a little bit again haven''t I?¡± Vincent says, he blinks again and the employee¡¯s teeth are normal, Vincent was wondering if he was imagining it. The employee just chuckles. ¡°Thank you for asking¡­.. Sid¡± Vincent thanks him and checked his name tag. Vincent had another headache as he was checking out the weapons which he didn''t think would get processed so quickly. Vincent started looking around trying to find the source of his headaches to no success, but he did notice the happy employee¡¯s smiles, they just seemed to fake, or they had another reason to smile other than at customers. Vincent just shakes his head, because why would he see the smiles as fake, why is he seeing things that give him headaches, why why why why. ¡°I should head home now.¡± Vincent mumbled under his breath,¡± Things are getting strange.¡± As Vincent was walking back home he noticed an alleyway that he never noticed, he started to walk closer it seemed to¡­ draw him in. When he got closer he started to notice some details that are not normal, he noticed blood on the walls, he sees pieces of a white something, and the very last thing he heard was a very faint blood curdling scream just on the edge of his hearing then even worse. It stopped, then right next to his ear he heard a crunch and a slurp. ¡°Aah,¡± Vincent screamed he turned around with a dull throb starting to build up in his head and started running home, far away from this unholy place. Vincent finally got back to his street he noticed the throb grew to piercing headache, When he got to the doorstep he collapsed from an intense bout of pain and his head hit the doorbell and his vision faded to black as he noticed the door creak open. Chapter 3: Where am I? The rounds begin. Vincent awoke to complete blackness. The surrounding blackness was almost oppressive like, closing his eyes he actually sees something brighter, the insides of his eyelids is brighter than when they are open. ¡°How strange,¡± VIncent thinks to himself.¡± please don''t do the whole cliche reincarnated because I died or something, that would really suck.¡± A young woman walks into sight which is weird because there''s nothing to walk on then giggles and says. {hello hello} ¡°Who are you ,¡± Vincent tries to speak but fails { I am the goddess At?, you have died and you''ll be reincarnated in a world full of magic and battle aura} ¡°Really! ¡° Vincent exclaims in his head. ¡®Thats the last thing i want¡¯ { no, of course not just wanted to mess with you a little } ¡°Then what are you?¡± Vincent thinks slightly exasperated. The goddess At? disappears a blue box appears in front of him.
I am the system and you are my chosen but with all things there are risks where there are rewards so I am going to challenge you if you succeed you''ll be rewarded if you lose..... we wont talk about that yet
¡°Do I atleast have a weapon¡± Vincent tries to say to the system but then he remembered he can''t speak, he then thinks this again " or a mystical force to help".

you will have to fight twice, one for magic and one for aura there will also be 10 waves that will be easy, then 10 medium and 10 hard mode. keep in mind in all of my time doing this only 18 have made it to round 30 and only 3 have had success.

Vincent suddenly finds himself in a coliseum filled with all kinds of monsters ranging from goblins to dragons watching through a screen around this small area. The flooring is of some strange metal, the walls some kind of wood. He looked around seeing if there is anything that can help him in the upcoming fight.He finds that the coliseum is actually smaller than he thought probably at a at of 200 feet, maybe less. Surrounding the inside ring there are torches all over roughly 5 feet apart. He feels the ground and he thinks it is kinda like marble but not quite, it feels off somehow he doesn''t know why it feels like the metal itself vibrates.
{Fight will commence in 10 seconds 9 8 ¡­}
Vincent looks for his dagger and finds it strapped on his belt and pulls it out. It looked flimsy but he felt that it would last until the end of the waves. He looks up from his dagger when the countdown began and he notices a thing that is small green wrinkly skin and has the ugliest face you have ever seen the stench is almost as bad as his face. ¡° This is a goblin you really sent a goblin after me,¡± Vincent finds this slightly disappointing but then remembers that this is round 1 of 30. The goblin wields a short sword and starts charging at him. Vincent notices how sloppy the charge is, he is off balance the sword is to low to make a difference. Vincent steps to the side at just the right moment and as quick as a striking viper stabbed the dagger straight through the goblins head instantly killing it.
Round 2 will begin in 10 seconds
Vincent starts smiling if it is this easy he has no problem to get to wave 10.
Round 2 commence
Vincent looks over and notices that this time there are 2 goblins one wearing a shield and sword and the other is holding a bow with a quiver on his back. Vincent no longer smiles, he realizes this is getting exponentially harder. The goblin warrior holds his ground and the archer starts firing arrows at Vincent he dives away from the arrows and towards the goblins and quickly rolls and gets up off the ground and starts running toward the goblins, he notices the archeer is the biggest problem but he also notes that the warrior wont let him through. As he draws closer to the short goblin he goes for a quick decapitation. The goblin raises his shield to block his strike, Vincent uses his legs to sweep the goblin off balance and he is successful and a single strike is needed to kill the goblin. ¡°1 down 1 to go¡± Vincent thinks as he starts running to the goblin and he quickly kills it off because his use is limited if the enemy is near.
Round 3 will start in 30 seconds
Vincent takes deep breaths preparing for the hard battles ahead
Round 3 commence
This time Vincent sees 2 goblins again same as before which confuses him. ¡°Why is it the same as before shouldn''t it get harder as i go¡± Vincent is confused. The archer starts shooting arrows and vincent dodges while troubled by why its the same as the previous rounds. He feels a cold tingle at the back of his neck as an arrow is coming his way he ducks and whirls his feet backward and has his dagger swung downwards striking flesh ¡°Damn a rogue.¡± Vincent grimaces, ¡° this will not be pretty.¡± Since Vincent already faced the enemies before in the exact same formation he is able to finish them off.
Round 4 will begin in 10 minutes
¡°At this rate I will lose before round 10 what makes it so I can win after all this is all a te¡­ thats it!¡± Vincent exclaims knowing what he did wrong the whole time and starts to feel what''s different from normal in his veins and body and he found what he was looking for. Aura, it''s what will make the whole test easier. He starts playing with it and quickly finds when he uses aura on his eyes things slow down, on his arms he could swing faster and on his feet he could move faster but noticed he can only do two and a time and the current point in time.
Round 4 start
He looks over towards where the goblins are and sees 3 goblins this time One wearing a tower shield sized for a goblin and the archer with several arrows in a quiver, the arrows slightly shimmer. The last goblin has a staff and robes, none of the others are wearing armor. ¡°Fun, a mage an archer a warrior and there''s also probably a rogue somewhere as well.¡± Vincent starts applying aura to his feet to dodge arrows and run toward the tower shield goblin forming a plan. The tower shield needs to go down to get the the squishes the mage than the archer the rogue will probably attack at an inopportune moment for me which will probably be when the spell might hit me just to need to be wary of the mages element and the timing of the rouge. As he gets closer to the tower shield an arrow nicks his dagger arm and his arm begins to feel really cold and he notices a bit of ice not a lot but he does notice on how it could affect him battling if it builds up . ¡°The archer has enchant arrows now o nononononono this is bad¡± The mage finishes a chant and a ball of flame comes toward Vincent. ¡°Pyromancer a guardian an archer with enchanted arrows. This is really bad.¡± Vincent feels a cold feeling on his neck and realizes how he can win. As he notices the cold on his neck he swings down and kills the rogue finds his dagger in hand grabs it imbues his arm and the goblins dagger with aura throws it at the mage their eyes follow he imbues his legs again and kills the guardian while his attention is elsewhere the mage is like a deer in the headlights and doesnt move the dagger finishes it off then he dashes to the archer and with one quick slice of the dagger kills the archer.
Round 5 will start in 30 minutes
Vincent sighs with relief he didn''t think he could do that, he notices as the round ends the ice on his arm is gone his clothes are fine like they were never hit with an arrow. He lies down waiting for the next round. When the timer reaches 20 seconds he stands up and ready for the fight.
Round 5 start
As Vincent looked over the goblins that appeared he noticed 1 big difference, he noticed a goblin a foot taller and with armor. ¡°Please don''t let me know that is what I think it is.¡± It is what he thought, A Champion goblin. Chapter 4: Round 5 As Vincent sees the goblin champion he tries to think what he can do to increase his chances against a goblin champion, an archer, a goblin rogue, a goblin mage and a goblin guardian. Luckily he knows that since their goblins they can''t have too many abilities but since there are 5 more waves after this it would be good to know what kind of abilities they have. From what vincent can tell the rogue has a assanation type of skill and a stealth skill, the mage has fire bolt and probably has fireball, the guardian has some type of block skill and defending skills, also there are no discernable abilities shown from the archer but he knows the goblin has enchanted arrows. The goblin champion has full-plate armour and a greatsword, the reason why goblin champs are hard is because they are like heros to goblins they are only under the noble class of goblins in difficulty. Suddenly the goblin champ starts moving clearly done waiting around for the fight to start as a firebolt comes to close for comfort. Vincent decides to leave the goblin champ for last because it is the hardest to take down but if there is an opportunity he will take it. As he moves closer to the goblins he notices a quality difference in the way the goblins are moving, they are covering each other almost perfectly, as he gets closer to the guardian an arrow comes flying to him if he goes after the champ the mage throws a spell next to an arrow. When he tries to get past the guardian the guardian moves in front of him to block his way towards the backline. ¡°What can I do to get past this stage the rogue will probably try to catch me off guard but what can i do, hmmm¡­.¡± Vincent looks around noticing the torches again arrows on the sandy ground,¡± Wait a minute, that''s what I can do, I can use the sand to blind the champion and reveal the rogue and use the arrows as a projectile weapon. As vincent now has a plan he decides to move toward the guardian and ashe gets closer an arrow whizzes by, it would have hit the mark if VIncent didn''t rolled and grabbed a handful of sand and threw it in the eyes of the guardian temporarily blinding it. As it is blinded he moves past it and rolls again towards the mage dodging an arrow and a stab at his back and as he gets closer he uses aura on his legs and using a sudden burst of speed gets close to the mage, picks him up and uses the mage as a meat shield taking an arrow. The mage is almost dead and throws toward the champion as he throws an arrow at the archer impaling the archer kicks up sand revealing an empty space where the rogue is and quickly kills it.Support the creativity of authors by visiting the original site for this novel and more. All that is left is the goblin champ and guardian. As VIncent dashes to the guardian he jumps high in the air and comes down with a mighty force and cushes the guardian to death, the champ is left in its shiny armor, he has to kill it now, he can''t progress any further if he can''t kill the champ and the more he does the better the reward. This is a great opportunity because the system has not started for everyone else yet and if he can get ahead¡­ Vincent looks at the situation dodging all the attacks from the champ, a dagger won''t be able to pierce the armor but it may be able to cut the neck off if he can hit a weak link. A plan slowly forms in Vincents mind. He rolls far away from the champ, confusing it slightly then rushes towards it. As the human is coming closer the champ swings his sword managing to cut deep into the humans arm but the goblin¡¯s vision suddenly goes 180 spinning around and the goblin falls to the ground, headless.

VIncent plops on the ground and checks his arm for the deep cut he got earlier during the fight, as he runs his hand over it expecting to wince, he feels no pain, no open wound, nothing.
