《How I got Possessed By A Barrel Of Porn (Paused)》 Chapter 1+2 : Water Proof Barrels Cause Disaster! The sound of the crashing waves surrounded the man, as he gasped for air while trying to catch a barrel floating in the sea. The images of the sinking ship lingered in his mind, although the cause seemed unclear. "I have to get it!" The man said through his gritted teeth. His light brown hair soaked and making it more difficult to see. The image of the old man aboard his old ship flashed in his head, "Gyll, no matter what you do, don''t ever let this barrel get damaged!" the old man said. "Gyll, don''t you ever look inside this barrel!" the old man said. "Gyll, under no circumstances, should you look inside," the old man said. A flash of lightning brought the man back to reality, A massive wave darkened the already gloomy sea, forcing the man to hold his breath as the wave crashed on his head. As his vision darkened, and as he slowly sank lower and lower, he finally saw the barrel ahead of him, and with what little strength he had left, he grabbed the barrel, judging by its buoyancy its insides were at the very least mostly water-free. The man opened his eyes, laying on the sand, he jolted up and coughed out a mouthful of saltwater. The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. The man gasped for air, "I''m alive! barely..." the man frantically looked around checking to make sure the barrel was there. The barrel was half buried in the sand, the man crawled over to the barrel on his knees, "I''m sure the old man wouldn''t mind me having a little look!" the man thought. "Not that I particularly care what he thinks." The man thought to himself. He opened the barrel, its lid made a gritting noise as he did. The man was in total shock as he peeked into the barrel. It was a barrel full of... "It''s porn..." the man said out loud, a mix of disappointment and defeat in his voice. "I risked my life for porn!!!" The man screamed out into the horizon. The barrel has filled the brim with magazines, books, posters even single piece of paper, The man spent a few minutes sulking before noticing a stained piece of paper pinned to the lid of the barrel. The man removed the pin and unfolded the piece of paper. "If you are reading this, you probably found my treasure, which means you are most likely heavily judging me, but rest assured I''m no mere degenerate, for you see this barrel is cursed and whoever opens it shall be forced to carry this barrel, you cannot empty it, you cannot destroy its contents. and most importantly..." The man threw the paper away before finishing reading. The man looked around hoping to find a house or road but was disappointed to find himself completely isolated, on a sandy beach littered with planks and seaweed. The man suddenly felt a tug on his leg. "I won''t let you leave!" a small figure laying on the ground in place of where the barrel once was. Chapter 3 : Rocks For Skipping Are Best Flat The man look at the childlike figure grabbing a hold of his leg. She had long, flowing black hair and a long dress, from her shoulders to her ankles, pink and blue. Her eyes were dark red, contrasting her pale skin and horns. The man was shocked by the sudden appearance of the child, he snapped out of his shocked state and began to speak. "Listen, kid, didn''t your parents ever warn you not to attach to random stranger''s legs?" The girl looked up at him with a blank stare, "You can''t go." "If you don''t get off, I''ll get you off myself!" the man said as he began to shake his leg violently from side to side. After a while of this, he began to get tired and stopped. "Have...you...had enough yet?!?" the man said in between gasps.Enjoying the story? Show your support by reading it on the official site. The girl looked up at him, with the same blank stare, "Your tricks won''t work on m-" her speech was interrupted by her violent urge to throw up, Both of them stayed quiet for a few seconds, "A...are you ok?" Asked the man, in a slightly more concerned voice "Your tricks won''t work on me!" proclaimed the girl in an unchanged voice, "she''s pretending it didn''t happen.." the man thought to himself. "Listen, you need to go home, so do I. So how about we go do that?" Proposed the man. "Fine by me." said the girl. "Great! Then get off me and let''s get going, it''s getting dark." The man said triumphantly. "I can''t." replied the girl For a moment, then man could have sworn he saw the slightest bit of sorrow in her eyes, but it sank back into the dark void of her eyes. "I see," the man said. The man sat on the sand, further from the water and laid back, the girl let go of his leg and sat staring at him blankly, "Well, any responsible adult would demand you go home this late at night. " The man crossed his arms and put them behind his head, "But I''m not a responsible adult." the man said staring at the setting sun. Chapter 4 : A Cloudless Day Brings A Cold Night The man opened his eyes to the night sky, slowly stepping aside for daylight. The man sat up slowly and looked around to see if the girl was still there, to his surprise she was nowhere to be seen, and before him was a fireplace with what seemed to be books as fuel. "Must have all been a dream, huh?" the man said, somewhat relieved. The man stood up and began to walk away towards what looked like a forest just a few meters away from where the sand ended. The man froze as he heard shuffling behind him, he turned his head to take a peek at what was behind him, it was the barrel. You might be reading a stolen copy. Visit Royal Road for the authentic version. The man broke into a sprint, as he charged into the forest he felt the evil presence behind him getting closer, out of the corner of vision the man saw something hanging, there was no time to think about the risk, for before him was a river, this was his chance to lose this evil barrel, he grabbed the hanging object and jumped into the air only to fall face first onto the muddy ground, after a second a scream echoed in the woods. Suddenly the man found himself surrounded by murmurs and whispering, surely this is the doing of the cursed barrel he thought. "Surrender, scum!" a deep, raspy voice commanded. Chapter 5 : Sweet Water Fish Always Pee The large, leathery hand grabbed the man by the collar and began dragging him across the muddy floor, it was a lizard man, he had large black scales on his shoulders and forehead, large claw-like feet and a tail. "Listen, this has got to be some misunderstanding!" The man stuttered out. "This is no misunderstanding, foul pervert!" The lizardman scoffed. "Pervert?! no, you must have me confused with someone else!" The man replied. "Lies! you ran into our village, screaming like a mad man then you just grabbed a helpless girl''s loincloth!" the lizard man said, trying to control his rage.Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. "Don''t play dumb, and stay quiet! we''re about to have you cut down for your crimes " the lizard man said with a grin. "you''re about to meet our chieftain." the lizard man added. As the lizardman reaches the wooden hut, he tossed the man inside, then goes inside followed by two, slightly smaller lizard men who were previously guarding the hut. The man quickly recovered from his fall and stood up, he looked around the room, only to be faced by the same three lizardmen at the door and an older, hunched over lizard man, sitting on a makeshift throne of leaves and sticks. "This is the perverted human, we trust rasel already told you about him, chief." the large lizard man said, bowing slightly. "Ah..yes.. lad, I believe you have some explaining to do.." the chieftain said with his weak old voice. Chapter 6 : Scale Polish For Wind In Hair The old lizard man took in a deep breath and sighed. "I think I understand, so you got yourself cursed..." the chieftain said. "Exactly, I didn''t mean to insult your people." the man assured The old lizard man stood up slowly and walked over to the now sitting man, he put an arm on his shoulder, "Nevertheless, we can''t leave your crimes unpunished." the chieftain solemnly said. The man gulped, images flashed through his head, the gallows, a pit of snakes, that damn barrel. "I sentence you to..." the lizard man began. The man is sweating intensively at this point. "A month of community service." the chieftain said. One of the smaller lizard men got closer and began to speak, "Chief, aren''t you being too lenient?!" Another one interrupted, "Yes, this is just another attack from the humans!" Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. The chieftain turned his withering gaze towards the smaller lizard man, "The look in his eyes seems genuine, I ask you as the leader of these people, please trust my judgment." The old man began to bow but was stopped by the figure sitting in the corner of the room unnoticed. "Please dear, there is no need to be reckless, people your age shouldn''t be moving so much!" an equally old lizard woman said. The large lizard man ordered the two smaller ones to take the man away. The man was taken through the village of suspicious stares to a small one-room house built into the side of a small cliff, the features that stood out were the small planter boxes in the front, a very large round window, an empty birdcage. "This looks more like a luxury cottage than a prison cell..." the man commented. The smaller lizard man chuckled and put a hand on the man''s shoulder. "Don''t think of yourself as a prisoner, rather a forced citizen, sorry about what I said earlier, we''ve been a little on edge since the last human raid." the lizard man spoke, "By the way, my name''s Razyl, feel free to ask me anything," Razyl added "Thanks, I guess, I think I''ll go to bed, for now, I think tomorrow will be pretty eventful." the man said. The two exchanged their farewells and parted ways. Chapter 7 : Moving Makes You Find Lost Things You Didnt Know You Lost The man woke up in a soft, straw bed. rays of sunlight beamed in through the window, making all the dust in the air visible. "Nice home.." a voice said, this caused the man to jolt out of bed, it was the girl from before. The man calmed down for just a second before he began to be filled with rage. "What the hell are you?" the man asked. "Names'' Mi, I''m the demon haunting this barrel. " Mi said, the same blank look on her face. If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. "Look here, Demon, you got me into an ass load of trouble and now you''re going to get me out of it!" the man angrily said. "Or I could roll over to the old lizard and show him some of your collection, I wonder if he would still be so kind to a per-" Mi said blankly. "Alright, Ok stop being so loud!" The man said in a hushed angry tone. "So we got a deal?" Mi asked. Suddenly a knock came from the door. "Human, I''m coming in!" The familiar raspy voice announced. The man quickly turned to Mi, but found her to be gone. The door swung open, and the large, black scaled lizard man entered the room. "Human, from today on you, will be working under me, my name is Kaber, and you are?" the lizard man inquired. "I''m ... my name is Gyll." Said the man Chapter 8 : Sweat, Blood, Tears And Other Bodily Fluids Gyll gasped for air, sweat poured down his face as the man fell to his knees in the mud. "Human, I''ve seen a lot of pathetic creatures in these woods, but you are really something," Kaber said a mix of defeat and disappointment on his face. "I''m a sailor, not an athlete." Gyll choked out. Gyll was carrying a large leather sack of water, meanwhile, Kaber carried three of these sacks on each shoulder. "These paths aren''t making the job any easier" Gyll looked down at his muddy boots. Enjoying the story? As the men reached the hut, they dropped the sacks of water into a wooden crate by the door. "Alright, that''s enough water for today," Kaber said, stretching his back. As Gyll finally made it to the hut, he dropped the sack of water into the crate and fell to the floor on his back. "Why the hell... do we need... to bring this water up here?!" Gyll said through gasps. "The brewery," responded Kaber "Our kind can''t survive in the cold winter, we brew warming potions from the local herbs, unfortunately, the water here is polluted with all the rotting leaves and plants, we boil the water to clear it out however we can," Kaber added. Kaber turned to face Gyll. "Alright, take a two-minute breath and let''s keep going, we have to carry fruits up next," Kaber said. Gyll sighed and stood back up Chapter 9 : A Days Work Is Cleared By A Nights Drink, And Is Lamented By The Mornings Light The two figures lumbered through the village, barely lit by the setting sun. "That was some decent work we did today, human," Kaber said. "I feel pain in places I didn''t realize I could feel pain..." Gyll moaned, looking around the town as he walked. "Where are we going anyway?" Asked Gyll. "Well, after a day of hard work, a man deserves a nice drink," Kaber replied. Before the two men was a large hut, it had no walls, instead, it had what looked like tables surrounding the centre. In the middle was a large cauldron made of stones, big and small. The two men sat at a table, the seats were slices of logs placed on large rocks. You might be reading a stolen copy. "Look who it is, it''s the-" the lizard man''s insult was cut short by Kaber speaking. "person who came here with his work buddy for a drink, yes." Kaber eyed the much larger lizard man before bringing them a wooden cup of orange liquid. Kaber picked up his cup and gulped down the thick liquid. Gyll eyed the liquid, it looked like honey, but darker. "What is it?" asked Kaber. "Oh, it''s nothing I just.." Gyll began. "Don''t tell me... you never drank booze before, did you?" Kaber said trying to hold back his laughter. but failing to hold back his smug expression. Gyll''s face turned red as he tightened his grip around the cup and drank the liquid in a single gulp, before falling flat on the table. The whole place was silent. "Human.. are you..." Kaber moved his hand over to Gyll''s shoulder, a look of concern on his face. The world became a blur as the Human fell back off his chair and onto the muddy floor. Chapter 10 : Ashes Eighteen years ago... the figure lay in the snow in the alleyways... as the flakes of snow fell all around him, the boy''s breath slowed almost to a stop, the hunger pains that haunted him for months were replaced by a terrifying numbness. A sudden sound of crunching snow went completely unnoticed by the boy. "Hah, look at this guys, the stray finally died" a few laughs could be heard. A sharp crack was heard as one of the voices stomped on the boy''s leg. The pain, although numbed considerably was unbearable, the boy squealed in pain as he pulled his freezing body back, another voice commented: "It''s alive!"The author''s content has been appropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. tears ran down the boys face, the boy used his other leg to pull himself up, he pressed his arm against a wall for support and grabbed a can off the floor to use as a makeshift weapon. The first voice burst into laughter, others followed, he could see them now, it was some kids from the richer district, one, two, three, four.... seven... Seven on one, the boy turned around and tried to walk back, when a rock hit the back of his head he fell to the cold floor. "Look at the tough guy now!" called a voice from the group. The boy gritted his teeth and crawled into the distant alleyways, leaving behind nothing but a trail of blood. Gyll gasped as he awoke from the dream, covered in sweat. "Did you sleep well?" asked Mi Chapter 11 : I Will Never Drink Again Until I Do "How did I..." Gyll began to speak, but Mi interrupted him. "I dragged your wasted butt home," Mi said. "Oh, I remember. I was super tired and-" Gyll began but was yet again interrupted. "No, you got yourself piss drunk and left poor little me locked in the house!" Mi said making dramatic gestures, but still lacking any facial expressions. "You''re the one who followed me here," replied Gyll. "I''m a part of you now," Mi replied. "What do you want from me, now that I think about it..." Gyll asked. "I am Mi, the demon who owns this barrel, and the one who haunts you, you are my vessel and it is your divine duty to help me reach my goal!" Announced Mi. "And your goals!?" Gyll demanded.Unauthorized use: this story is on Amazon without permission from the author. Report any sightings. "I wish to distribute these book''s knowledge to all," Mi spoke with a hand on her heart. "You...want to give people porn?" Gyll asked his face carrying a blank expression. "Technically yes, but did you ever actually read any of the books?" Mi asked. Gyll''s face turned red, "Of course not!" he replied. Mi grabbed a book and opened it on the first page, before shoving it into Gyll''s face. "No, please, I''m too innocent to be into ...." Gyll read the heading for the page. "...Crop rotation?" Gyll grabbed the book and began reading over it. "This... is about farming..." commented Gyll "These books carry a wealth of knowledge, the knowledge that could potentially cure diseases, stop poverty..." Mi said "Than why do they look like.. porn on the outside?" Asked Gyll. "It''s a disguise, not only are average people highly disturbed by a barrel of such material but also, to an average person the inside will appear as normal porn." Mi explained. "But why porn!?" demanded Gyll Mi turned away from Gyll. "Because legends say, only a true degenerate amongst degenerates can truly appreciate all people and their needs," Mi said. "I don''t think that''s what the legends meant, and also, I''m no degenerate!" Gyll argued. "Listen to me, Gyll, I can help you achieve greatness, in return, you must help me spread the knowledge in these books," Mi said, her arm outstretched. "Do we have a deal?" asked Mi Gyll taught about it... and before he goes to say anything Mi retracted her hand. "Ok, how about I show you a little demonstration?" Asked Mi. "What...do you have in mind?" asked Gyll. Chapter 12 : Cold Bloods Seek Warmth Kaber opened his eyes in his bed, he stood out of the bed and stumbled towards his kitchen. "Man, I really shouldn''t have kept drinking after that human left..." Kaber said through the pain of his hangover. Kaber got himself dressed in his fur loincloth and leather armor, then looked out the window. "I should go check on the human, he''s probably dying right about now!" the large lizard man chuckled to himself. He stepped outside his door and took a deep breath of air, before making his way to the man''s house. Kaber knocked on the door, "Human, are you alive?" asked Kaber, not getting a response he kicked down the door only to find the room empty. "To think that I was worried about..." Kaber hissed under his breath before turning and running to inform the villagers. While running he spotted Gyll, he stopped and called out to him.If you discover this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation. "HUMAN! what the hell are- shouldn''t you-" Kaber stumbled over his own words. "Kaber, come over here!" Gyll waved Kaber over, as Kaber made his way swiftly to the Human he noticed the reason for him to be out this early, "What are you doing, human?" asked Kaber, a little tired at this point. "So, you know the way the paths here are slippy?" Asked Gyll. Kaber nodded. "So, I had this... epiphany, we could make a network of slightly elevated platforms between key points around the village to improve productivity!" Gyll said, He already made about ten or twelve meters of platform pathway. Kaber was dumbfounded, the idea made sense, and there have already been accidents related to people falling on the muddy paths. Kaber placed one mighty foot on the platform to try it out, "It seems stable, but you could use some rocks under the middle plank, so they don''t break in the middle." And so the two worked on the pathways for the whole day, at first they only linked the village centre to the chieftain''s hut, impressed by the idea, the chieftain ordered two large lizard men to help Gyll and Kaber, Soon almost every shop and house was linked to the platform system. Chapter 13 : Golden Boys Golden Wall Three men rode on horseback through a foggy forest, on a messy mud path. the gentle sunshafts beaming through the thick canopy, The man in the front rode on a white horse, plated in heavy iron armor, the man himself wore iron armor, decorated with gold and bronze ornaments on the chest and arms, a large blue cape hung off his back. Behind him rode two men, wearing simple chain armor and short, brown fur capes. One had a large bushy beard, the other had a piece of cloth pulled over his mouth and a rather pale complexion. "My prince, we are still a good ways away, we should set up camp." the bearded man said, "There''s no need, I can-" Began the pale man, he was interrupted by the man in the front, "You''re right, we should rest before tomorrow." The three decide to light a campfire at the side of the road, the horses were all tied to a thin tree. The three men sat in silence, "You should rest now, mlord" Suggested the bearded man. "Nonsense" replied the prince. "I haven''t gotten a chance to sit like this and talk to my old friends often, and soon enough I''ll be so busy I won''t be able to leave the palace!" laughed the prince. If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation. The prince took off his helm, revealing medium length blond hair. The man with the cloth over his mouth spoke up, "You couldn''t act less like a king if you tried." the man said in an uninterested voice. The two other men looked at him in shock, "was that...did you?" the bearded man''s mouth was gaping open. "A joke!?" the prince said a mix of laughter and shock on his face. "What''s wrong? I can joke too, you know." Commented the man. "I never said you can''t, I''m just saying it''s unusual." The prince said. The pale man began to cough violently. "Are you ok?" asked the prince, as he rushed to his friend''s side. "I''m fine, I just need some water." Said the man, covering his mouth with his palm, "Water, ok, I''ll go get it now." The prince said as he rushed to the supplies placed at the side of the sleeping horses. The bearded man turned to the pale man, "You can''t keep doing this forever, you shouldn''t be here, and you know it." he said. "No, this is exactly where I need to be, at my buddy''s side." The man said, wiping the blood off his mouth and hand. "Here, drink this!" The prince said with a concerned look on his face as he handed the pale man a waterskin. As the man drank the prince spoke: "This cough has been really persistent." The bearded man looked at the fire and said: "Indeed it is...". Meanwhile, from the distant bushes, a pair of blazing orange eyes observed. Chapter 14 : Embers The glowing gaze of the creature in the bushes intensified as it got closer, the bearded man slept with his arms crossed staring into the dying fire, as the other two men slept soundly. With a single step the creature singed the grass under its hooves, with a single breath it filled the area with thick smoke, the creature walked moved closer to the men, that was when the bearded man set his eyes on the foul thing, Its flesh was grey, its face was long and twisted, it had horns like tendrils, and a hunched back, it dragged its massive claws behind it and it lumbered to the men, it''s torso resembled a starving person, it''s ribbed were showing, its legs were long and thin. The patches of fur on its body radiated a fiery glow and the air around it was filled with sparks and falling ash. The bearded man shaken in fear but managed to snap himself out of it, he managed to yell out to the other two men "IT''S A DEMI-LICH!" The two men woken up by the loud man grabbed their swords which they kept under their sleeping bags and turned to face the beast. The demi-lich was now mere inches away from the bearded man''s face, in an instant it pulled it''s arm back, seemingly without recoil, and pushed it back at the man, sending him flying into a bush. "Henry!" Yelled the prince, breaking eye contact with the demi-lich for a second, he focused his gaze back on the creature, only to find it inches from his face. The creature swung his claw at the prince, he blocked it with his sword, the sparks created were but a few drops in a sea of embers, "HAH, gotcha'' there didn''t I?" the prince said, with a grin, despite his brave words, his hands were shaking. The life of luxury made him lose his connection to his connection with the life and death reality of everyday life. The genuine version of this novel can be found on another site. The prince now realised what happened, "ROBIN!" the man yelled, he turned to the beast, then back to the bearded man, "You idiot... why did this have to happen..." the prince said through his choked sobs. Tears ran down his face, instantly turning to steam as they streamed down his red cheeks. The demi-lich has now cornered the two men near a steep cliff, it unhinged its jaw again, the prince tried to dodge the attack, but he must have sprained his leg, there would be no way he could dodge and carry his friend away from the blast radius at the same time. The prince''s morbid thoughts were interrupted by a sudden kick to the chest from the pale man, the prince looked at him as he found himself rolling off the hill, the pale man had removed the cloth from his mouth and said his farewells without a single word, but with a smile. As the flame for the beast turned to a distant light, a large explosion lit up the forest, for the second time. Atop the hill... "You shouldn''t have come, you should have run..." the bearded man said. "Says the burning man..." the pale man smirked. The two turn to the beast, staring them down, preparing another attack. "This is going to make one hell of a story." Laughed the bearded man. "Yeah, and we''ll make sure to tell it to him first." The pale man added. "Sorry to say, but I doubt we''ll get the chance unless you run..." the bearded man said, standing up, using his sword for support. "No way, how could I ever... face my buddy as a c-" the man''s speech was interrupted by a wave of flames charring everything around the creature, it sniffed the air once... then retreated back into the forest. Chapter 15 : Smoke And Mirrors Gyll fell backwards onto his bed. Kaber decided to have an early break today since they finished the platform bridges, The demon appeared at his side, swinging her feet back and forward, sitting on the barrel. "So, how''d it go?" Asked Mi, "Well, aside from the fact I''m exhausted, it was actually a pretty good idea," said Gyll matter of factly. "So, as for our agreement?" Mi inquired. "Well, it''s not like I have much of a choice, so I guess we have a deal." the man said with a sigh. "Good," Mi jumped off the barrel and opened it, "Here, take this one," Mi said handing Gyll a book, as he looked at it, the previously obscene cover turned to a thick, leather-bound book cover with the title engraved in gold. "What is this?" Asked Gyll flipping through the book''s pages. "It''s a book of magic," Mi replied. "Magic, so I''ll be able to fly, or something?" asked Gyll intrigued but confused. "Not exactly..." said Mi. "Magic is a simple part of every-day life, any living object has at least one magic node, inanimate objects can develop nodes, or can have nodes created in them, a Human has on average twenty-six magic nodes, the number of nodes can change slightly, depending on the person." Gyll read out loud. Love this novel? Read it on Royal Road to ensure the author gets credit."Magic is usually defined as one of eight types. > Elemental, this includes fire and air, as well as mixed elements such as steam and ice. > Spiritual, this is a type of magic which lets one communicate, interact and potentially command spirits, demons and ghosts. > Demonic, this is a type of magic which lets you command hellish demons, this type of magic often relies on life sacrifices and can easily backfire. > Arcane, this type of magic can create, duplicate and erase manufactured items, such as food, weapons and even gold. > Divine, this type of magic is the most common, and potentially the strongest, it relies on the belief of the user rather than mana to alter reality. > Fleashweaving, this refers to using magic to heal, shape or even in some cases damage flesh directly. > Cognimancy, this refers to the use of magic to alter one''s perception of reality, for example, blindness, feeling imaginary pain, illusions. > Nanomancy, this lets one use magic to change the characteristics of the physical world around us, usually in a small zone. It is commonplace that humans have between one and three magic nodes capable of storing mana and therefore be capable of casting magic. In order to find out what type of magic affinity you have, simply channel your magic energy into a crystal ball, and observer its colour." Gyll read this, slowly getting more excited as he read on. He turned to Mi who was already holding a small crystal ball, "Alright! here I go!" Gyll yells as he points his hand at the crystal ball. The room was filled with silence. "What the hell are you doing?" Mi asked staring at Gyll. "Well...isn''t this how it works, I direct my m-" Gyll explained Mi interrupted his explanation "No, get ready for hours of meditation." Mi said as he patted the floor with her hand showing Gyll where to sit. Chapter 16 : Power Corrupts, Weakness Demands Improvement The man sat cross-legged on the wooden floor, sweat dripped down his face as he tried to focus on the crystal ball Mi placed in front of him. "I know it doesn''t seem like it but I do actually have things I want to do," Mi said, taunting Gyll. "I''m doing my best here!" Gyll replied. "I have an idea." Mi said as she handed Gyll the small crystal ball, "try it now" Mi added. "Alright," Gyll said confused. The crystal ball began to glow a dull, white light.Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon. Mi picked up the ball and inspected it carefully. "Well? can I shoot fire? ice? can I -" Gyll''s questions were cut short by Mi when she told him, "Looks like you have no distinct magic affinity at all." Gyll froze, the grin on his face turned to disappointment. Gyll lit up and said, "So, that just means I have to keep training a-" "Nope, you have zero ability to use magic," Mi said interrupting Gyll. A few hours later... Gyll is sitting laying on his bed in the fetal position, accepting that he has no potential to ever shoot fireballs, while Mi sat beside him, petting his back and telling him things like "There, there, flying isn''t that fun anyway." and "You can always dream, it''s just that your dreams can''t come true. ever.". A knock was heard on Gyll''s door, "Hey, it''s Kaber. The chieftain sent me to get you." Kaber said from behind the door. Chapter 17 : Grasses The man sat on the floor, he was feeling worried, why was he called in, obviously he suspected that the chieftain wanted to reconsider this punishment, "Sorry to call you here during your free time, Lad." the chieftain said. "It''s fine, really," Gyll said, "I''ll cut to the chase. "Human, good I see you didn''t leave yet," Kaber called out to the human from behind him, the large lizardman handed Gyll a large sack. "What is this?" asked Gyll, "Food, water and some booze." Replied Kaber. "Thanks," Gyll said, a few seconds of silence passed. "Listen, hu- Gyll, something odd is going on in this village, I know the old man, he wouldn''t usually give in to the villagers like that..." Kaber stated. "I''d have to leave eventually," Gyll replied. another few seconds of silence passed. Kaber turned away from Gyll and began walking, "Don''t get eaten out there, okay?" Kaber laughed. That evening, Gyll set off into the wilderness, a sack on his back and a wooden barrel rolling behind him. Chapter 18 : Dreams The man walked alongside the demon down a dirt road. "It''s getting dark, we should settle down," Gyll said. "Alright" Mi replied blankly. After gathering some twigs and dry grass to make the fire, the man pulled out two fruits from his bag, "You want one?" Gyll asked. Mi looked at Gyll for a few seconds before talking, "I don''t need food." "I mean yeah, I could go a few days without food too, but it''s good to enjoy some sweet food now and then!" Gyll said with a grin than tosses the fruit to Mi. The two ate the bright orange, fruit. It resembled an orange plumb, the size of a large fist, covered in a clear membrane. "So what are you going to do now?" Mi asked breaking the silence. Gyll almost choked on his fruit, "What do you mean? I''m meant to spreadthe knowledge of divine pornos, right?" Gyll replied in a joking manner. "That''s true but, surely you need a home, a people," Mi said. "Alright then, how about we brainstorm some ideas!" Gyll suggested. If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it''s taken without permission from the author. Report it. Mi nodded, "How about we open a school!" Suggested Gyll, "Didn''t you have enough people call you a pervert without reading porn out loud to kids?" Asked Mi. "Yeah...you''re right," Gyll said. "How about we travel the world spreading our knowledge!" Gyll suggested. "Better, but if you stretch yourself so thin you may miss a lot of people." Gyll went back to quiet contemplation. Mi''s face lit up, "I have an idea," Mi says suddenly pulling a book out of her sleeve, she flips the book''s pages to around the middle. "To influence one''s allies, one must show results, to influence enemies one must surpass them." Mi read out loud. "What does that mean? Am I supposed to go fight a king or something?" Gyll asked, "I have to burst your bubble, but chances are you''d not make it past the king''s jester," Mi replied. Gyll scoffed, "Than what do you mean?" he asked. Mi stood up. "You will build an empire!" Mi proudly announced. Gyll stared at her with an expression saying "And the punchline is?...." "You''ve got to be kidding?" Said Gyll. "You have everything a leader needs," Mi said to encourage him. "Like?" asked Gyll. "The stuff a leader needs," Mi replied. "For example?" Gyll awaited his answer. "The needs...a..leader must have," Mi replied. The people became quiet. "I guess...I have the knowledge...in the form of p-" Gyll began. "Ok, that joke got old fast, stop, they''re books." Mi interrupted. Gyll sighed, "My own empire, that sound like a pain, but maybe a small town..." Gyll wandered out loud. "Well, just think about it, I''m going to sleep," Mi advised. Gyll replied with a nod, and soon he went to sleep as well. Chapter 19 : Familiar slime The morning was a warm one, Gyll was woken up by the warm light hitting his face. The man stretched, "Good morning." Gyll said to Mi. "Sure is." replied a familiar voice. Gyll turned to face this person, ready to fight only to realise it was Razyl. Gyll relaxed, "Man, you scared me. What are you doing here?" Gyll asked. "We lizardmen tend to be very traditional, and nowhere did I see this a clearly as yesterday," Razyl replied. "Did something happen?" asked Gyll. "After you left, Kaber tried to convince the chieftain to reconsider his decision, along with the brewer," Razyl explained. "He was sentenced to death yesterday for insulting the leadership of the village, the chieftain is being used as a puppet by a few powerful villagers," Razyl added, Gyll''s face was overcome with rage, as he stood up and started grabbing his items. "Those bastards, we have to go help Ra-" Gyll began but was interrupted by Razyl, "There''s no need, according to the chieftain he was killed on the spot," Razyl said blankly. Gyll froze, he fell back on the floor. "No need to cry over me yet, Human," Kaber said with a chuckle. Gyll looked up in shock, "You''re alive!" he said. "Yep, nobody ever said that the chieftain actually killed him," Razyl said. "I''ve been exiled from the village," Kaber said. "We fled at night, we were planning to search for a different village, but we saw some sorry human sleeping in the middle of a field, and we couldn''t just let him get eaten by wolves." Kaber laughed. Mi looked at the group talking, it was beyond her comprehension. Support the creativity of authors by visiting Royal Road for this novel and more.Mi tapped Gyll on the shoulder, "Here, give them these.". Gyll was somewhat surprised and handed the two lizardmen two talismans. "What are these?" asked Razyl putting his on, Kaber followed. "Human, you must have really missed us, if you''re showering us with gifts already," Kaber commented. "Sup," Mi said facing the two Lizardmen. The two Lizardmen stared at the figure, occasionally glancing at Gyll, than back at Mi. "Human, you better have an explanation for why you''re walking around with a child," Kaber said. And he did. The group talked for about twenty minutes. "So, why couldn''t you have done this at the village?" asked Razyl. Gyll shoots Mi a confused look, "He could have, but he never asked." Mi replied. "WHAT?!, how was I supposed to know I could do that?!" asked Gyll. "What''s done is done," stated Kaber. "What will you do now Gyll?" asked Razyl. "Well, we were just thin-" Gyll was interrupted by Mi. "We''re starting a town," Mi exclaimed. Gyll shot a panicked look towards Mi, it very clearly meant "ARE WE?!", she shot back a look saying "..." "I see," Razyl replied. "You''ve got some ambition human!" Kaber exclaimed. "So, listen, human. do you think you could use somebody to help you start up your village?" asked Kaber. "Make that two somebody," added Razyl. "Ehh, I-" Gyll began but yet again, Mi answered for him. "Sure," she said. "Alright!" Razyl cheered. "Let''s get started!" He added. And while this was going on, one taught was going through Gyll''s mind, "WHAT THE HELL DID I GET MYSELF INTO!?!?!?!" Meanwhile, at the human capital city of ''Tritur City'' "My lord, you musn''t!" Insisted the royal advisor. "No, I must." Replied the king, dressed in lavish silk robes, sporting white hair and a long beard. "My lord, your son must have simply decided to stay a bit longer at an inn, you know how he is!" the advisor argued. The king stopped in the middle of his carpeted corridor. "Do you really think so?" asked the king meekly. "Yes, of course, your highness," the advisor replied. The advisor ushered the king back to his room, "My lord, you shouldn''t exhaust yourself so much while ill" the advisor said. "I don''t have long left, I should at least spend what''s left of it with my family." the king replied. The king was shocked by a thud behind him, and even more so by the dagger in his side. "You''ll get to see your family soon, your highness." replied the cloaked figure. Chapter 20 : Spoon The man sat on the grass, his hands resting on his knees. "If we want to start a town, we''ll need, people and houses," Gyll said. "He''s right, people won''t settle in an empty village," Razyl said. "Kaber, what is your opinion on the topic?" Mi asked "Well, what causes villages to develop?" Kaber asked. "In other words, what do people gain from a place, such that it would make them wish to live there," Kaber pondered. "Safety," Mi replied. "So do we build guard towers or something?" asked Gyll. "Not towers... how about a fort!" Razyl suggested. "Yes, that sounds a little easier," Kaber replied. This story is posted elsewhere by the author. Help them out by reading the authentic version. "And the people could settle outside its walls!" Gyll exclaimed. After some planning, they finalised a rough plan of the fort. "Well, this is...ambitious," Gyll commented. "Sure is." Mi agreed. "Well, let''s get to work!" Kaber said! "Wait." Mi gestured the people towards her. Mi pulled out 3 gems from her sleeve and handed them over to the people. "What are these?" asked Kaber. "Arcane Tools, just think of the tool you want and it will become a more durable version of the tool, it''s reusable too," Mi explained. "Well, isn''t that convenient." Gyll laughed, "Yep, as long as you have any magic in your body you can use them," Mi commented. "Eh? magic...you mean.." Gyll looked at Mi "Nope, but don''t worry. I have something for you too." Gyll looked at Mi with hope in his eyes, "Really?" He asked. "Yes." Mi gestured Gyll to come closer. Mi extends her hand dropping a wooden spoon into the man''s hand. "Eh...what the hell is this?" asked Gyll with a glum look of disappointment on his face. "Go get em'' " Mi said before walking away and disappearing into a puff of smoke. "What are you still doing over there, come help us!" Kaber called out to Gyll waving a shovel with a slight blue glow to it. Gyll sighed, "Coming." He replied. Chapter 21 : Razfort The lizardman walked, limping slightly. His clothes were torn and his blood covered clothes dripped a trail as he moved. He fell face first onto the wooden path in the village. "Ezyl!" Called out a lizardwoman rushing over to help him off the floor. "We must warn the chieftain!" the bleeding lizardman said. "Alright, let''s hurry!" the lizardwoman replied. The two made their way to the chieftain''s hut. As they entered the hut, a human left, dressed in black and wearing an odd looking hat. As the two walked inside they found the chieftain sitting drinking tea. "Chieftain! the Humans, they-" The wounded lizardman began. "They began the revolution." The chieftain finished the sentence. "You already know?" The lizardwoman asked. "The humans always hated us, this revolution marks the end of our village." the chieftain replied. "Than I''ll gather the villagers and-" the lizardwoman began again but was interrupted by the chieftain "And what?! where will we go..." Silence filled the room. The sound of a horn was heard that moment, villages left their homes only to be horrified by what they saw. A row of twelve or so plated knights have appeared at the gates of the village. "To all lizards present in this village, by the order of the king of this land, Lord Edmund the second, you will all leave our land. " The knight in the front said, he wore a darker armour, and was clearly more muscular, so much so his horse looked like it was struggling to keep him up. Enjoying the story? The knights laughed, "No, you misunderstood us, lizard." "You''re leaving this world." the knight said as he gestured the men to pull out their swords. The knight looked around the village. "I don''t see any of your disgusting welps around here," he commented. "We sent the children off yesterday. they should be crossing the border to the elf kingdom any time now." the chieftain replied. "That''s great!" the knight replied, "Simply splendid!" he added. "You see there was a flood in that area last week, surely this would slow them down, and now that we know where to go." The man said with a grin on his face. "Wait, no!" the chieftain pleaded. "Slay the man, with the women do as you wish, if you can even call them women." the man scoffed, before riding off towards the border of the elven forest. Meanwhile at the fort... "Hey Mi, do you see that smoke?" asked Gyll, covered in sweat. "Yup," she replied. "Hey, Kaber isn''t that from around the village?" asked Mi "It seems a bit too far to tell," Kaber replied. "It''s probably nothing," commented Razyl. "Why don''t we check" Mi suggested. Before anyone could say anything Mi snapped her fingers and pages flew out from her sleeve and onto the floor, small origami houses took shape and people did as well. Small paper flames appeared on the houses, ink stains covered the floor. "It looks like it''s under attack," Mi commented. Kaber froze up for just a second before saying, "We have to go help them!" "we won''t make it on foot " Mi replied. "I DONT GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THAT!" Kaber called out. "if you don''t plan to help u-" Kaber added but was interrupted. "I''m trying to say it''s a good thing we aren''t going on foot." Mi. "You-" Kaber began before being teleported to the village along with Gyll. "Why didn''t you send me there too ?!" demanded Razyl. "You''d just slow them down, I probably shouldn''t have sent Gyll out there either but he''d never shut up about it," Mi replied. Mi stood on the dirt road facing the village. "Now, it looks like we''re about to have a little chat with our guest, so hold down the fort," Mi said pulling a large spiked club out of her sleeve. Chapter 22 : Flies The grassy field and evening light changed to smoke and embers as the two were teleported into the village, they were inside of Gyll''s house, or what remained of it. Kaber rushed out of the building, his axe in hand, Gyll followed. The image of the village sent Kaber into a rage, women and men alike lay bloody on the ground, puddles of blood collected on the ground in which the remaining lizardmen fought the knights. Kaber charged at one of the knights, he slashed at the man lodging his axe in the crevice between his chest piece and helmet, misty blood sprayed out of the hole as Kaber pulled his axe back out, meanwhile, Gyll grabbed the lizardmen and carried them into the only building which was not on fire, placing them on the ground before going out to get more, as he ran out the door he ran out of the door he crashed into a large knight who was ready to land sword slash on his neck, Gyll quickly shot for his leg, pulling it up for the knight to loose balance, as he fell Gyll grabbed for the sword, the knights grim was strong, even with one hand he overpowered Gyll''s attempts to disarm him, the knight used his second arm to jab Gyll in the face, Gyll fell to the floor adjacent to the man, as the Knight stood up and aimed his sword at Gyll who now laid on the floor, a stream of blood pouring out of his nose, he suddenly dropped his blade , that was when Gyll saw the large axe which Kaber threw at the knight which lodged itself in his helmet. "Take it! you need a weapon more than I do, human!" Kaber called out holding a struggling Knight by the leg, as he smashed him into the side of a building. Gyll grabbed the axe, after a few seconds of trying to get it unstuck from the thick metal helmet. When he managed to free the axe, he turned to see two more knights charging towards him. Meanwhile, the larger knight rode horseback towards the elven border, hoping to catch the children of the village, "I''ll get those brats" he taught to himself "If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it''s taken without permission from the author. Report it. "It''s my right as the stronger predator." "It''s the law of the land, its how life works." "It''s survival of the fittest." These thoughts ran through the man''s mind. he was suddenly stopped by what looked like a child standing on the dirt road. "Get out of my way, brat!" the knight yelled, "I have some-" the was interrupted by a sharp pain in his leg, when he looked down he saw the lower part of his leg was turned to a flesh pulp by a swing of Mi''s mace, along with the horse. The knight fell to the floor with a thud, he tried to crawl out from what remained of the horse he rode. "What the hell are you?!" the knight bellowed, his voice trembling. Mi approached him slowly swinging her mace around playfully, "What''s the matter, mister knight?" Mi said blankly, "You know, I''m much stronger than you," Mi said. "Surely, this means I have the right to kill you, right, mister knight?" Mi asked raising her mace over his head. "NO, PLEASE NO!" the knight pleaded. "I DONT WANT TO DIE!" the knight yelled through tears and snot pouring down his face as he tried to crawl away. "But, surely you wouldn''t want to be a hypocrite? mister knight." Mi questioned smashing the mace into his side throwing him across the field breaking his armor into shards, as he smashed into a tree, blood poured out of his mouth and mixed with the other liquids on his face. "You''re a monster!" the knight yelled, his speech was almost unintelligible due to his crying andbruised face. "It''s a monster''s responsibility to cut down a monster," Mi replied. Mi caught up to the knight crawling away, quickly. Mi placed her mace on his chest, slowly increasing the force with which she was stabbing into his chest, the knight called out in pain, Mi''s hands were stopped by Razyl pushing her to the floor, as he turned to the knight on the floor and yelled out "RUN" to him, that''s when the knight began to roll off the hill and into a river. Razylgot off Mi and apologised. "Why''d you steal my kill?" Mi asked. Razyl was quiet for a bit. "I couldn''t bear to see that he suffer any longer," he explained, extending a hand to help Mi up, which she accepted. "What if he comes back?" Mi asked, putting her mace back into her sleeve. "I doubt he''ll ever be able to look at a weapon in his life." Razyl chuckled. "What if he comes back?" Mi asked, putting her mace back into her sleeve. "I doubt he''ll ever be able to look at a weapon in his life." Razyl chuckled.
Chapter 23 : It was bronze The village was safe. after many thanks, many apologies and looks of sorrow, after getting his face patched up, Mi came over to Gyll and Kaber to update them on the situation. "I must admit, I never imagined you would be this powerful, Mi" Kaber complemented, carrying a sack of grain he received from the villagers. "Yeah, but I''m more impressed by Razyl''s attitude towards the knight," Gyll said. Mi and Kaber leaned closer and began whispering tauntingly, "What a pussy, right?" Asked Mi, Kaber confirmed. The group made their way towards the fort. Razyl''s slim figure waved the group over, "It''s great you''re back! I need to show you something." He called out to them. The group made their way to the fort, "What is it?" asked Gyll, before noticing a medium length blond haired man sitting on the grass of the fort devouring the group''s supplies. The group looked at the man, "That''s my food." Mi said blankly. "Our food!" Razyl corrected Mi. You might be reading a pirated copy. Look for the official release to support the author."Yeah, our food," Mi repeated sarcastically. "And you said you don''t need food!" Gyll added. "But you got me hooked on the stuff," Mi replied. "You what?" Kaber asked extremely confused. The blond man awkwardly interrupted the argument, "Eh-em, sorry to cause such a commotion, I was kind of starving. " the man chuckled. Kaber looked at the man again, noticing he was wearing armor. "Human, you wouldn''t happen to be a knight," Kaber asked. The man looked surprised, "Oh, yeah, sorry. My name is Prince Herian, next in line for the throne of the human kingdom of Eskria." the man said with a wave. The group stayed silent for a bit, "Are you responsible for what happened at the village?" Kaber asked, slowly building up rage. "What do you mean?" Asked the prince raising an eyebrow. After explaining the events at the village, the prince''s expression turns to that of shock, "No, that''s impossible." The prince said. "My father would never..." he added. "But according to the villagers, the knights introduced themselves as being under the command of King Edmund the second, the r-" Gyll pointed out but was interrupted by the prince. "King who?!" questioned the prince, "Edmund," Kaber repeated. The group fell silent again, "Is that not your father?" Mi asked. "It''s my uncle." the prince replied. Chapter 24 : Booming confetti The King sat upon his throne, a defined jaw and long nose, his hair was a light chestnut colour, his lavish purple cloak rested behind him exposing his equally expensive white clothes. A golden crown resting on his head. He sturred a glass of wine in his hand. The tall man, dressed in black wearing a disinterested face walked into the throne room with his hand upraised. "Hey, your highness, what''s up?" the man asked, he wore a pair of glasses, had black combed hair and a fedora like a hat. The king let out an irritated sigh, "Would you stop addressing me so casually, brother?" the king demanded. "Sure thing bro." The man responded, the same disinterested look on his face. The king sat back defeated, "Alright, Ephen. Just tell me the report and leave." the king demanded. "Sure thing, man." the man responded, "All our men are dead." The man added before turning one hundred and eighty degrees and began walking out.If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. The king stared at the man with a look of shock and confusion. "Where the hell do you think you''re going?!" The king called to Ephen. Ephen turned back around switching to a more sarcastic voice, "But Eddy didn''t you tell me to leave." despite the bored look the man put his hands up to his mouth as if to cover up laughter. "DO NOT CALL ME EDDY!" the king yelled. A hoodedfigure wielding two daggers jumped at Ephen from the shadows resting the blades inches from his throat. despite this, the disinterested look never left his face. "My, my. It looks like your defences haven''t changed at all, bro." Ephan commented. "They''re lacking." He added. Ephan was holding two solid silver pistol like weapons against the back of the figure''s head. The room was silent for a few seconds before Ephan let out a laugh, his face still bores, "Well, how''d my performance go?" Asked Ephan making his weapons turn into shimmering dust in an instant as the hooded figure fall back to the floor. Ephan shot the king a momentary look of seriousness to which the king flinched, "Let''s avoid these games in the future, we''re in a war you know, bro." Ephan said as he began walking away. "The report!" The king reminded. "Ah yes, they''re all dead, the lizards are mostly dead too though, I''ll go check it out tomorrow," Ephan said concisely before walking out of the throne room, giving his brother a wave as he did. Chapter 25 : Drips Gyll sat on the log by the fire, he looked into the flame and turned to look at Herian, "You really think it''s that bad?" Razyl asked. "Absolutely, my father would never send his men to the village, he always stood against the noblemen who wanted to cut down the forest," Herian replied. "Why''d the noblemen want to cut down the forest?!" asked Gyll. "The kingdom needs space to grow, the north, south and west are too mountainous and the kingdom doesn''t want to look aggressive towards the elven kingdom," Herian explained. "Ask him if it''s likely his father was killed." Mi requested, looking at Gyll. "Do you think your father is alright?" Gyll asked. "I doubt it, I have hope but I just can''t see that, he would never step down like that, and I was the next in line to be king," Herian claimed. The group sat silently by the fire, "Are you planning to go?" Kaber asked. The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings. "I have to," Herian replied. "I''m sorry to say Herian, we can''t go with you," Kaber said. Herian replied with a nod and a smile. Gyll turned to Kaber, "We can''t just let him go and die." Gyll argued. Kaber let out a little laugh, "What are you going to do? you almost died fighting one knight, you will face the city''s defences." Kaber replied. "It would be helpful to gain the recognition of a kingdom," Mi commented. "Are you planning to take over the throne?" Razyl asked the prince. "I''ll try," Herian replied. "Let''s make a deal!" Gyll said, with his hand outstretched towards the prince. "A deal?" The prince questioned. "We''ll help you take back the throne, in return, you''ll support our fort, village thing once you''re in power." Gyll elaborated. The prince taught about the deal for a while, scratching his chin. "Your offer is kind, but I cannot accept." The prince replied. "Why not?" Razyl asked. "If what Kaber said is right ... I can''t endanger you all." Herian explained. The group was silent again, "Alright, let''s all have some sleep and then think about what to do in the morning." Razyl suggested. Everyone agreed, and the group slept by the fire. The next morning... Herian was nowhere to be found, Gyll looked everywhere around the camp, but soon accepted what happened, there was no way the prince would abandon his kingdom. And Kaber was right, Gyll didn''t stand a chance against a trained and armored knight. Chapter 26 : Old Crow n Owl The previous night... The old man walked with the aid of a long walking stick, his long, thin, white beard almost reached his ankles, a large bag on his back, of what seemed to be scrolls. To his left he noticed two lizardmen sleeping, one large and muscular the other smaller, next to them was a man sleeping pressed up against a tree, beside him a small black haired child. One man stood out, this was because he was awake, a blond-haired man wearing fancy armor. "Hey there!" the old man called out to the man. This made the man jump, he quickly turned to the old man and put a finger up against his lips, quickly the blond man walked up to the old man. "What do you want old man?" The blond man demanded. The prince let out a sigh, "So it was just a guess?" he asked. The old man simply smiled and turned back to the road. "Well, are you going?" the old man asked. The prince looked at the group, he made sure Gyll, Kaber and Razyl were sleeping, before running up to the old man and offering to carry his bag. Mi was now sitting on top of the tree, staring down at the old man, and the prince, Mi sheathed her mace back into her sleeve. "It''s him again..." Mi sighed. "How''d he find me this time..." Mi taught to herself, before deciding to head back down to sleep. "It''s best I don''t mention this to the guys..." Mi taught to herself. "I could just make something up about him leaving to live with his cousin or something... or maybe that he died..." Mi continued to think... "I don''t know..." Mi sighed, before dozing off to sleep. Chapter 27 : Ink smash Gyll swung a long wooden stick at Kaber who also held a stick, however, Kaber didn''t need to use it, he simply side-stepped and slash attempted by Gyll. Kaber laughed, "Its that all, human?" Gyll tightened his grip and lunged at Kaber who stepped forward and stuck out his leg to trip Gyll up. Gyll sat up sighed, "I don''t think this is working." Gyll said. Kaber crossed his arms, "Usually I''d say you''re just weak-willed, but you are just completely useless at close range weapon combat." Kaber replied. The two sat on the grass thinking silently. Kaber stood up and spoke, "Maybe you''ll do better in hand to hand combat!". "Like...punching?" Gyll asked.Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site. "There''s more to hand to hand fighting styles than just punching," Kaber replied. "Alright, let''s give it a shot!" Gyll cheered. The two stood there silently for another while, "The problem is, I can''t teach you, I''m not any good at hand to hand combat." Kaber said with a sigh. A piece of paper fell from the tree above them, landing in Gyll''s palm. It was a dirty, stained piece of paper with what seemed to be a map, with the tree made with a red "X" and a dotted line leading into a forest marked with an "O". Kaber looked up only to find nobody was up there, he looked a Gyll, "No, human!" the lizardman spoke, A grin crept its way onto Gyll''s face. "I''M DEFINITELY GOING!" Gyll stood up and began walking towards the forest, but was stopped by Mi who grabbed his arm, "I wouldn''t go into the forest at night." Mi replied. Gyll sighed, "Yeah, guess you''re right." Gyll walked back to the fireplace and laid down on the grass, dreaming of strength. Mi sat on the tree''s branch that night, swinging her feet back and forward. "Why do you always have to get involved?" Mi asked the figure sitting next to her. The figure grinned, "Hey, It''s my job. He wanted it." the figure replied, before jumping away, into the woods. Chapter 28 : Welcome to the marsh The early morning was warm, the grass was still wet and the birds chirped as they began their daily routine. "Alright! Let''s get going." Gyll said ready to venture off into the dark forest. "Somebody has to stay and keep the supplies safe," Razyl said. Everyone just looked at Razyl, who understood that he''d be the on to say. "Oh...I see...I''ll just...hang out here I guess." Razyl said trying to sound happy. "Great, let''s go!" Gyll said as he marched off, Mi followed him giving Razyl a thumbs up, Kaber just patted Razyl on the shoulder and let too. As the group followed the map down a muddy path, deep into the forest which seemed to be located in a large basin, many streams fed into it turning the forest into more of a swamp at ground level. "So who do you think dropped the map?" Kaber asked. "I don''t know, but what''s the worst thing that can happen from following a random map blindly," Gyll replied. The group walked slowly in silence for a bit before Gyll turned one hundred and eighty degrees, "I just taught of at least ten horrible things, let''s go back." Gyll cried.Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon. "We went this far, we have to keep going,"Kaber replied, grabbing Gyll by the collar and dragging him forward. "Stop being such a coward!" Kaber demanded, "What''s the worst thing that- I mean, the chances of us getting hurt are.. I-" Kaber stumbled over his words. "What he''s trying to say is that we can''t go back right now," Mi said. "Yes, exactly! We can''t go back now, for that would cost us our honour!" Kaber exclaimed. "What I meant is that your arguing attracted just about every beast in our area, and they''re following us." Mi corrected Kaber. "Yes, that''s what I m-" Kaber stopped mid-sentence, before turning back and seeing a massive Spore Fiend. It''s hunched body was covered in luminous pink sores and its many orifices oozed pink slime. It has an unproportionally large upper torso and leet and arms as thick as tree trunks. It''s giant jaw hung loosely open revealing rows upon rows of sharp needle-like teeth each wiggling slightly. Its skin was like that of a cross between a dried fruit, leather and moss. It must have been at least five meters tall and three meters wide. Gyll stood perfectly still, "Kaber, please tell me there''s nothing scary behind us..." Gyll pleaded. "N-no, it''s just...extremely intimidating," Kaber replied. Kaber picked Gyll up, holding him under his arm, and started sprinting down the path, Mi followed behind. "Mi, can you kill it?" Gyll asked, "Not without bathing the local area in position spores and slime..." Mi replied. "LOOK OUT!" Kaber yelled as the group fell down a cliff into the darkness. Chapter 29 : Cavern Rumble The sound of splashing water awoke Kaber. Kaber sat up in shock, checking his surroundings. Kaber was in what looked like a ravine, the bottom was coated in moss, the lower part of the revine was filled with water from what looked like a waterfall, the water was clear and the smooth stones were clearly visible. The canopy covering the mouth of the ravine let in rays of light. Kaber turned to look for the others, Gyll was sleeping in what looked like a bush, on Gyll''s face was what looked like a moustache and monocle drawn with mud. Mi was sitting next to him looking rather bored. "Is he alright?" Kaber asked placing him and on the source of the throbbing pain he just noticed, he must have hit his head hard. "Yeah, he''s just really enjoying his bush-nap," Mi replied. Kaber stood up and walked up to Gyll, lightly slapping him on the cheek, "Hey, human," Kaber said quietly. "Human!" Kaber said louder now. Gyll opened his eyes. "HUMAN!" Kaber yelled. "Wha-" Gyll began but was silenced by a smack from Kaber. "I think he''s up," Mi said, looking at Kaber. Gyll rubbed his cheek which was bright red now, "Ah, man. That was unnecessary!" Gyll complained. The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement."Is my face alright?" Gyll asked taking his hand off his face. Kaber glanced at Mi who placed a finger on her lips gesturing him not to tell Gyll about the ''mud-stache''. Kaber sighed and said, "It''s perfectly normal, Human! For a human that is!" Kaber laughed nervously. "Well, guess we should look for a way out of here," Gyll suggested, he glanced at the map, only to discover that the ''X'' was very close. "Alright, turns out we might have saved a few hours thanks to our vertical descent," Gyll explained. "Are you saying we''re close?" Kaber asked. "Actually, I never said we''re close... But we are close!" Gyll exclaimed. The group walked for about twenty minutes, noticing that the ravine is getting wider, "Almost here!" Gyll cheered. "I wonder what it is..." Kaber wandered. "Hey look! A cave!" Gyll cheered, as he rushed towards the cave. "Wait, Human no- ugh." Kaber sighed before running after Gyll, Mi followed. The cave was small, and decently well lit by the light from outside, in the middle of the cave was a table with what looked like a glove or gauntlet on it. Gyll was instantly captivated by the item. The glove looked like it was made from thick leather, with red gems embedded in a circle on the middle of the palm. As Mi walked into the cave Gyll was already reaching for the glove, "What the hell is this?" Gyll asked, somewhat frustrated by the idea of almost dying for a glove. "Maybe they''re magical!" Kaber suggested. "Magical?" Mi questioned, her eyes widened and as she leapt towards Gyll to stop him from putting it on, but she was too late, Gyll burst into a bright red flame, the explosion shot Kaber out of the cave and onto the moss covered rocks outside. Mi looked at the red hue radiating off Gyll, and the figure standing next to him. "That asshole." Mi thought to herself. Chapter 30 : Purple minus blue The room was flooded with red light. Gyll looked around him, he as in a large room with a marble tiled floor, white pillars, a red carpet and many doors. The room didn''t seem to end, in a way it resembled a corridor more than a room, in the distance a white fog hid the rest of the view. Gyll looked around him, observing all this his mind instantly jumped to one conclusion. "Is this heaven?" Gyll thought to himself "You have a pretty boring idea of what heaven is like, Gyll." A voice said from behind Gyll. It was a child-like figure of a boy with bright red hair, slightly tanned skin and vibrant orange eyes. He was dressed in leather and fur, a black cape and no hat or helmet. He wore an expression of excitement and pride. "Who are you!?" Gyll asked, attempting to jump back but tripping and falling onto the floor. "Look at yourself, you can''t bear to look at me without freaking out?" The figure said. Gyll felt a strange, heavy feeling in his gut, "C''mon Gyll." the figure said extending a hand towards Gyll. Gyll''s hand slowly move towards the figure''s almost on its own. Gyll used his other hand to snap himself out of the trans, "I asked... who are you?" Gyll demanded again. The figure coughed, "Name''s Phyl, and I''m the demon possessing the glove you so rudely fiddled with." The figure said. "Where are we?" Gyll asked, now standing and more alert. "This is your empyl." Phyl said. "My what?" Gyll asked, looking around the area once again finding that the arrangement of the pillars, tiles and doors has changed.Find this and other great novels on the author''s preferred platform. "Your empyl is the physical manifestation of your soul and body," Phyl said. "It''s actually more like how you imagine it, the real, real version is a little hard to understand for you mortals," Phyl added. "What do you want?" Gyll asked. Phyl lunged towards Gyll stopping his clenched fist centimetres away from Gyll''s face, this made Gyll freeze up before falling back to the ground. "I''m just about done with you giving me orders, mortal." Phyl roared angerly. The room remained silent, "Now, since you are so curious, I will let you in on a little secret of mine, I hate, HATE, weaklings," Phyl said walking in circles around Gyll as he walked. "I think this is a pretty reasonable idea considering my superiority to mortals, and to be honest, most demons as well," Phyl added. "What does this have to do with me?" Gyll asked. Gyll saw how much Phyl seems to hate mortals, why would he even consider posessing him. "Well, for some reason, an acquaintance of mine seems to be a little... enchanted by you," Phyll explained. "And I can''t stand the idea of a superior being choosing to mingle with mortals," Phyl added. Gyll was too terrified to comment on his hypocrisy. Phyl leaned in towards Gyll''s face. "And that''s why I''m going to have to demonstrate to her how pathetic you are!" Phyl said before Gyll could respond he found himself in a different room, one with a cobblestone path, snow fell from the sky, Gyll looked around and realised he couldn''t move his body, he could only observe. "Why don''t you re-live your pathetic life, while I turn your party into minced meat." Phyl''s voice echoed in Gyll''s mind. Meanwhile, back in the physical world in the cave. Mi looked at Gyll, now wearing the glove stand up, his hands emanating a crimson flame. "Why hello there friend!" Gyll''s body said. "I know it''s you," Mi said looking directly in Gyll''s eyes. Phyl was now in control of Gyll''s body, as Phyl walked out of the cave, Mi extended her mace in front of Gyll''s path. "What are you going to do? Kill my vessel and I''ll just come back, but Gyll won''t." Phyl chuckled. "Now if you''ll excuse me," Phyl said, flicking Mi into the side of the cave, crumbling the rock as Gyll made his way towards Kaber''s unconscious body. Chapter 31 : "Ridbow" Kaber watched the familiar figure, Gyll now possessed by a demon called Phyl get closer to him, Kaber knew it wasn''t Gyll anymore, he had no proof, in fact, he was shot out of the cave before the possession meaning he didn''t see Phyl talk to MI, but he knew. Kaber stood up, grabbing the small axe he had strapped to his back and switching to a defensive stance. Mi stood there, a blank look as always, however behind those empty eyes churned an abyss of confusion. What should she do? She can''t kill Gyll, She doesn''t want to let Kaber die. What will happen after this? These questions built up before a solution sprouted in her mind. "PHYL!" Mi called out, charging towards him, Phyl turned around to face Mi with a grin, he expected to see her wielding that ever familiar mace, but instead, she ran at him empty-handed, For just a moment a look of confusion filled Gyll''s face, this was quickly replaced by the same sadistic grin, "I see what you''re planning!" Phyl taunted. "You want to kick me out of my vessel!" Phyll moved his hand at an inhuman speed, grabbing me by the head and throwing her against the side of the ravine, Mi''s body was imprinted in the hard rock, splintering it in the process. "MI!" Kaber called out throwing his axe at Gyll who simply caught it with his hand mid-flight. Kaber gasped at seeing this. Phyl chuckled, turning back to face Mi who was emanating a bright yellow glow, sparks filled the air, the vibrations resonated in every hollow organ they had, the light surely would have blinded Gyll was it not for Phyl''s defensive reflexed which made him leap back, covering his eyes with his arm.Enjoying the story? Show your support by reading it on the official site. Mi released the spell, shooting the long beam of light into the sky. Kaber watched this unfold breathlessly, now it was his turn to be filled with doubt, confusion and fear, it was at this point that he understood that despite his years of training and impressive physique, the demons were like forces of nature, incomprehensible. "You missed!" Phyl laughed, "Why don''t you understand I''m doing this for your own good?" Phyl asked stepping back towards Mi. Mi slumped back to the ground, staring at Phyl as he drew near. Phyl plunged his glowing, red fist into Mi''s face, this shook the entire ravine, as he pulled back his fist, a single drop of blood slowly rolled out of Mi''s mouth. "That was a weak hit," Mi said staring at Gyll blankly. Phyl growled, "That bastard is resisting me..." Phyl said through gritted teeth. Phyll pulled his fist away then plunged it into his stomach. A mix of the blood and vomit pooled on the mud floor as Gyll''s eyes roll back into the back of his head from the pain, A grin appeared on his face, "Take that you bastard." Phyl said through gasps. Phyl''s head was struck with a rock, as he turned to see the culprit he confirmed it was, in fact, Kaber, he rushed towards Phyl. He wasn''t fearless, he wasn''t a hero who could wrestle a dragon to death, and he knew he didn''t stand a chance, and despite a thousand question appearing, he only knew one answer, "I MUST FIGHT!" Kaber called out holding the maniacally laughing Phyl in a chokehold. "AND YOU BETTER NOT GIVE UP EITHER, HUMAN!" Kaber called out to Gyll. "How annoying..." Phyl said, now back to his calm self, with a single move, Phyl dislocated his arm and swing it behind himself, not only striking Kaber but also breaking through his leathery skin, although not deeply. A bright light came from behind Phyl again, "You won''t get me this time ei-" Phyl began to say before he realised who he turned to face exactly. It was another child like figure, but this one had massive, snow white wings, and a spear to his throat. "Phyl." The figure said tauntingly with a closed-eyed smile. For the first time in this battle, Phyl felt fear. Chapter 32 : Sharp Pillar Sticks The figure held a long, golden spear to Phyl''s neck. "What the hell do you want!?" Phyl scoffed. "What I usually do, Phyl. I clean up your messes. Now apologise to Mi and leave." The angelic figure said with a calm smile. "NOT THIS TIME GABRIEL!" Phyl yelled, jumping back and getting his fist ready. "Too slow!" Gabriel said pointing at Gyll''s stomach which was pierced with his spear. "DON''T KILL HIM!" Kaber called out to Gabriel. "He won''t," Mi replied. "Ah, Mi there you-" Gabriel began but stopped as he saw the state Mi was in, Mi was laying on the floor covered in blood. "You little shit!" Gabriel called out turning to face Phyl. "WAIT, SHE''S FAKING IT, I JUST PUNCHED HER LIGHTLY!" Phyl pleaded. "COME ON MI, TELL HIM!" Phyl pleaded, but as he turned to me he saw her wiping away the blood with a sadistic grin on her face. Gabriel pulled his arm back and thrust it down Gyll''s throat. Phyl managed to mumble something resembling a sentence, "Are you trying to suffocate him!?!" Gabriel pulled out what looked like a red ball of light from Gyll''s throat who collapsed to the floor. "Lizzard, take care of your friend," Gabriel said, carrying the red light which in reality was Phyl''s soul in his hand. "Now I''m going to send you back to hell, and it''s going to take you the next ten thousand years to be done with all the paperwork you''ll have waiting for you, I''LL MAKE SURE OF IT!" Gabriel threatened. Gabriel walked up to Mi, who was no standing up patting her dress to get the dust off. A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation. The entire forest seemed silent for what seemed like minutes... "MI!" Gabriel called out. Mi sighed. "My sweet, innocent, adorable Mi!" Gabriel cooed, with an expression of complete bliss, "It''s been so long, I''ve missed you so much," Gabriel said wiping a single tear off his eye. "Let''s leave these fools and-" Gabriel began to speak but was interrupted by a sharp pain, the origins to which he noticed when he looked down, Mi kicked him in the balls so hard enough to make him fall to his knees. "Thanks for the help, creep," Mi said walking over to Gyll and Kaber, "Good to see you too," Gabriel said with a forced smile through tears. sensing the opportunity Phyl''s soul slipped out of Gabriel''s hand and shot for Kaber this time. Before Gabriel could react, Mi smacked the soul with her mace, as if it was a baseball, making it fly off course and land in a bush, an explosion of bright light brought everybody''s attention to said bush. After Mi walked to the bush, and after Gabriel waddled to the bush, both peeked inside only to find that Phyl has possessed what looked like a mantis. The forest went silent again... "Wha- what are you looking at?!" Phyl asked, now in a much higher pitch. Mi picked up the mantis and placed it in a bottle. "HAH, at least I''m not stuck with that ang-" Phyl began before being interrupted by Mi shaking the bottle furiously, again with a sadistic smile. After ten seconds... "Hah! that''s what you deserve, demon!" Gabriel taunted. After thirty seconds of shaking... "Heh..heh...I think he''s had enough now, Mi." Gabriel suggested. After one minute of shaking... Mi stopped shaking the bottle... "Thank goodness, I was starting to feel bad for him." Gabriel laughed. Mi then took out a piece of paper, a pencil, and scribbled down and "1". Gabriel placed an hand of Mi''s shoulder, "Eh..what does the "1" stand for, Mi?" he asked. Without turning to face Gabriel, Mi said "For every thirty seconds of combat... comes a minute of penance." Phyl turned to Gabriel and in a voice unusually high pitched for even a mantis'' size said, "Mercy... just kill me!" "Alright then, I''m getting a little scared so I''ll just leave, but I''ll be back to see my Mi again soon!" Gabriel said, turning to Gyll and Kaber, "You better be good to her." Gabriel warned before disappearing into a pillar of light and feathers. Chapter 33 : Razyls Blues Razyl sat on the wooden stump, the sun was high up, in the cloudless sky. the sound of the birds chirping was the only sound to be heard. "I bet they''re having fun..." Razyl sighed to himself. Razyl spotted a cloaked figure making its way down the dirt road, and towards him. Razyl waved at the figure, "Hey there!" he called out. The figure just kept walking, and eventually fell to its knees, and landed on the ground. Razyl jumped off his make-shift seat and rushed over to the cloaked figure, turning it to its back he removed the hood revealing that it was a girl, specifically, what looked like a woman in her early twenties or late teens, she had greenish-brown hair, and soft features, her eyes were closed, Razyl snapped out of his state of enchantment quickly as he carried her over to the camp. The girl opened her eyes, seeing Razyl sturring something in a pot over a campfire, she sat up and reached under her cloak, pulling out a sack of what appeared to be coins, she pulled out two, shining, golden coins and extended her hand towards Razyl, "Could I... buy some?" the girl asked. Razyl laughed awkwardly and pushed her hand away, it''s alright really, you can just have some. The girl''s face lit up as she sat with a look of childlike joy at the taught of eating whatever she just smelled, but what was it? The smell was like a mix of something sweet, fruity maybe some sort of dough?Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings. "I hope you don''t mind me asking, but what were you doing here?" Razyl asked. The girl looked up and rubbed her chin trying to recally why she walked out into the middle of nowhere, "No reason really, I was bored so I walked out." the girl replied. Razyl just sat and stared at her blankly, he was confused as to how a person managed to be this much of an airhead. "Oh yeah, what''s your name?" the girl asked. "Oh- eh, My name is Razyl," Razyl said nervously, he turned back to the food, picking it up and taking it off the fire. Razyl poured the mixture out of the pot directly into a wooden bowl and handed it to the girl. "And what''s your name?" Razyl asked. At this point, the girl''s mouth was already stuffed, the girl swallowed the food, wiped some off her mouth and replied, "My name is Heenia." Razyl poured himself some of the food as well, "So, how do you like it?" Razyl asked, pointing at the empty bowl in Heenia''s hand. "It''s delicious, but what is it?" Heenia replied. Razyl chucked, "Ah, well that''s a secret, I have to do what I can to make the little food we have eatable!" Razyl replied. "Aww, come on, you can tell me!" Heenia insisted. "Alright, alright, I''m a porridge, I mixed oats, water and fruits along with a bit of ginger root," Razyl said, with a smile. "I see, did you ever consider adding some salt to the mix?" Heenia suggested. "Salt you say, I guess I never considered that, since it''s a sweet dish," Razyl admitted, Heenia pulled out a small paper bag of small white crystals, presumably salt, and handed it to Razyl, who opened the package and sprinkled in some of the salt, before sturring the entire mixture. The two tried the modified mixture and both agreed it was better, the two spent hours discussing and trying out all types of spices, recipes and cooking techniques. Their cooking was interrupted by the group, was making their way back, Mi and Kaber carried Gyll, along with a small glass bottle. "Mi?" Heenia called out excitedly. Chapter 34 : Rule Number One "GO ON!" the small mantis squeeked from inside of the glass bottle with a cork blocking its escape. "N-no I can''t!" Razyl responded apologetically, they were under the large tree at the fort again. "If he''s giving you a hard time..." Mi said making her hand do a shaking gesture. Phyl was visibly frightened by this. "It''s alright, no need to scare the little guy," Razyl responded. "That little guy could whoop your ass in three seconds," Mi replied. On the other side of the tree sat Kaber drinking a disgusting potion brewed by Heenia who used a few bowls provided by Mi to make a makeshift alchemy lab. Gyll was laying in the grass, suddenly he jumped up into a sitting position with a gasp. "Thank goodness, looks like the medicine worked!" Heenia said cheerfully. "Good job, miss!" Kaber replied with a relieved sigh. "Oh look, our glove enthusiast woke up," Mi said tossing a small wrapped object to Gyll. Gyll unwrapped the object, ignoring Mi''s remark. it was a ring, "Look, I know you''re glad to see me but there is no need to get marr-" Gyll began speaking jovially before he was interrupted by a rock smashing into his head. "As if," Mi said, sitting back down, leaving behind a small crater from where the rock was. "Mi, don''t!" Heenia called out, rushing over to Gyll''s side. Gyll opened his eyes, still, in a daze, the world looked blurry. "M-Mi is that you? You don''t look as flat a usually-" Gyll''s face yet again met a large rock,This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings. A few minutes of desperate healing and eventually resorting to gagging gyll so he wouldn''t dig himself a deeper grave gyll went back to his normal self. Gyll was rubbing his head, while drinking some tea, made my Heenia. "Oh, yeah. What is that thing you threw to me?" Gyll asked, looking at the ring. "After that peep-squeak got out of the glove, it lost most of its power, lucky for your there is a tiny amount of it still left inside," Mi explained. Gyll''s face lit up, "Are you saying..." Gyll awaited Mi''s further explanation. "You can use VERY limited magic, as in basically you just punch things harder," Mi explained. Gyll puts on the ring and pulls his fist back, waits for a second and then punches the air ahead of him. Gyll began pouting, "But you said-" "I dunno what''s up this time," Mi said with a shrug. "You don''t expect to be able to use my artefact without any actual talent do you!?" Phyl laughed, falling onto his back. A long silence fell over the group. "Well, guess you''ll have to teach me then!" Gyll said with a thumbs up. "LIKE HELL I WILL," Phyl yelled out. "YOU RUINED MY LIFE!" Phyl added. "I mean, to be fair you did start it this whole ordeal," Gyll said. "No, I won''t teach you, no matter what!" Phyl yelled standing his ground. Mi gave Kaber a nod and moved up next to Gyll, "Hah, guess he can''t actually fight." Mi said sarcastically. Kaber walked up next, "Guess he''s all talk after all." Kaber said with his palm over his mouth as if to clearly show he''s whispering. Rage, embarrassment, hatred, build up inside Phyl, "I can fight!" Phyl called out stomping his little bug legs on his glass floor. Gyll walked over to the bottle which was left standing on a wooden stump. Gyll places a hand on the bottle and with a smile says, "It''s ok, I understand. No hard feelings." Phyl relaxed a bit, "Well, I don''t agree with you human, but I''m glad that-" "We can learn to fight together!" Gyll announced cracking his knuckles. Phyl placed his little hand on his face, "Oh for f-" Chapter 35 : Crumbled Mi sat casually on the tree stump. "So what are you doing around here anyway, Heenia?" Mi asked. Heenia looked around making sure that Kaber and Gyll are off doing something with Razyl. Heenia gestured Mi to move closer to her and leaned in to whisper into her ear, "I''m gathering all of the angels.". Mi''s face was the usual deadpan, Mi looked up at the sky, not saying anything for a while, she was thinking about the others. "All of them?" Mi asked. "Almost," Heenia replied. Mi let out a sigh, "Are you after Adriel again," she asked. "I''m telling you he has to be stopped." Heenia almost yelled. This got the attention of the others. "Are you two okay?" Gyll asked calling over from the makeshift table, mode from a large flat rock resting on a mound of dirt, serving at the surface for an arm wrestling match. "Don''t mind us, Heenia was just worried about Gyll''s arm snapping like a twig when arm wrestling Kaber, isn''t that right? " Mi explained, turning to Heenia who had an apologetic look on her face. "NO NO, that''s not what I-" Henia began explaining hersself, stumbling on her words. "Don''t you worry about me!" Gyll said with a thumbs up. He then turned to Kaber and with a smirk said "ALRIGHT LET''S GO!" As fast as the wind, Kaber snapped Gyll''s hand out of shape. Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation.Everyone stayed silent. Gyll let out a weak "Eh?" ask he turned his shocked expression, displaying his previous grin. "H-human, I- " Kaber stuttered, he didn''t realise how weak Gyll was, how can somebody with bones this weak carry a sword. "Huh, that looks painful." Mi pointed out. Gyll''s face finally changed to one of the pleasant surprise "It''s not, acutally." he replied. The glove now began to glow again, weakly this time, as his hand snapped back to its place with a crack. "Human, are you alright?" Kaber asked, Razyl held his hand over his eyes, protecting his pure mind from the graphic thoughts. Gyll closed and opened his palm a few times. then did a thumbs up towards Kaber. "That''s weird..." Phyl said, scratching his little head with his tiny mantis arm. Mi pulled Heenia behind the tree, as asked her "So who is first on your list?" Heenia thought for a second and pulled out a piece of paper with seven names. Mi''s and Phyl''s name''s were placed in the middle of the list and were crossed out. "We need to find Gabriel," Heenia said pointing to his place in the list. Mi sighed and got off her tree stump, "I''m not saying I''m joining your little angel catching expledition, but I owe that angel creep a favour." "Hey, Gyll," Mi called out to Gyll who was making sure his arm was working. "What''s up?" He asked, somewhat concerned Mi''s tone. "I have to say it, but it looks like the fort building will be set back again, we have to track down a certain goody two shoes." "Do you guy have a plan for the fort of yours?" Heenia asked. Gyll proudly presented her their plan, Heenia took the plan and said: "Alright, give me a second." Heenia cast a spell which tore the very fabric of the world around them, letting a group of critters out. "Are...are those?!" Razyl said in admiration. "They look like animals to me," Gyll commented. Chapter 36 : Slamfluf From the radiant, lime green rift marched out a group of five creatures. They were small, two to three feet tall, they looked like bipedal animals. The creature wore regular clothes, shirts, trousers, little black boots and hardhats, the two larger creatures carried what looked like a wooden toolbox. "What..what are these?" Gyll asked in awe. "They are called the carpenters of the forest, they build houses and temples for the dryads and nymphs of the great emerald forest!" Heenia explained, observing the bunch settling down. One of the creatures, resembling a small bear walked up to Heenia with a tiny white mug, hit extended its arm towards her. Heenia handed the creature the blueprints for the fort. "I think he''s in charge," Razyl whispered to Kaber who was still admiring the creatures, Heenia leaned in towards the foreman and exchanged some quiet whispers. Love this novel? "There''s no way they''ll be done that fast," Razyl said "It takes years for people to build forts, how are they meant to do it in a few days!" Gyll said. "But they have something humans don''t!" Mi said looking towards Gyll "And what power is that?" Gyll asked. "The power of plot convenience," Mi replied. Everyone stayed silent, you could hear a cricket making noise, "Phyl, please stop!" Heenia demanded. "I''m a mantis, not a cricket!" Phyl insisted. After another few seconds of silence... "Well, shall we get going?" Mi suggested. "Yeah, where are we going?" Gyll asked, turning to Kaber and Razyl who nodded in approval. Mi sighed, "You remember that glowy angel guy?" she asked. Both Razyl and Gyll shook their heads but Kaber said he did. "Yeah, I guess that''s fair, Gyll was knocked out and Razyl was being useless as always," Mi said with a shrug. Razyl looked down in embarrassment. "Don''t say that! If not for Razyl staying here I wouldn''t have found you guys!" Heenia said in defence of Razyl "Whatever, let''s go!" Mi replied. "I''ll lead the way!" Heenia said. Still here?
