《Apocalyptic Paradise》 Chapter 1 - How to begin? How to begin to describe what I was feeling? Maybe I should ask our friend over there! Oh...he''s trying to chew through the barricade I made...What a cutie. ... Somebody HELP ME! ******** Going back a few hours ago... In a damp one-bedroom apartment in NY Brooklyn was a man in his early twenties lying on top of a mattress on the floor. He was white-ish tending more to the brown side of the shade of skin. He had brown eyes and messy brown hair. He was 1.85 cm tall and weighed around 80 kilograms, he was in ok shape, but currently, he was exhausted. He had a blank look on his face while looking at the rain hitting his window apartment. This apartment was not big, but at least it was clean-ish and organized. It had one bed on the floor near the window, an old brown looking sofa across the room with a tiny rat table to eat, a kitchen with necessary electric kitchenware that was 10-ish years old and a small bathroom with a shower and toilet uncomfortably close together. This apartment was the first one of this person; his name was Adam Jackal, an orphan boy who just finally got his first apartment after years of working on low-pay jobs. Today was the date that he finished paying his apartment, but his idea of living was not this ¡ª working almost 14 hours a day, every day, without stopping only to survive barely. That was NOT being alive! But what he can do? He''s an orphan with no-one else to aid for help, here in the U.S. if you don''t have money, you are nothing. You are worse than scum, the hospitals only have the obligation of stabilizing your condition if you have life-treating wounds and then they left you on your own. Education? Sure they were a public college, but the cost of the study materials, transportations and such...not to mention the poor quality of those colleges...all of this made Adam frown. Besides...What could Adam study? He didn''t find anything he was good at; sure working on a farm out there and live pretty it was possible since he was comfortable being outdoors and all that. But that was not his passion; that''s the main point. He was trying to formulate a plan to enrich his future. He does this every night trying to come with new ideas. This first apartment was the fruit of years in planning and timely execution, he barely reached in time to seal the deal before they offered to another more wealthy person. Anyhow, he sighed and stood up. He was thinking about going out to refreshen up a little bit. He grabbed his keys, wallet with just enough money in case of an emergency and his old umbrella and went outside. He lived in a damp apartment on the 5th floor in a noisy and old building; he dodged kids screaming and running on the hallway like it was an everyday thing. He arrived at the stairs and began to descend, carefully looking for bottles between the steps on the stairs...since one time he ended with stitches on his head for stepping on a fucking glass bottle and falling head-on. He finally arrived at the bottom of the stairs and began walking on this shady neighbourhood. He looked at a few familiar faces and made nods as a way of saying hi. These people recognized him and left him alone to continue their business. This was a few of the good things about living in a poor neighbourhood, everybody knows everybody, and they don''t steal for already poor people...If you are not for this hood...well, let''s say you are going to get lighter each step of the way around here. I arrived at my usual thinking spot, an old bench in a central park, this bench was surely going to be discarded soon, and that made me sad. It was my thinking spot for years. Looking at the little of green space on NY while thinking about what to do with my life was one of the few things I enjoyed doing. While I was doing that a creepy old man with a strong urine smell was walking in front of me and he slipped and fell on the ground. This text was taken from Royal Road. Help the author by reading the original version there. I stood up and quickly helped him stand up. I acted on pure instinct since I helped a few older people to stand up and even carrying their groceries to their homes. Maybe because I wanted to feel like I was useful to someone instead of being a nuisance like they told me on several jobs begore firing me. He smiled and thanked me. After that, I smiled and said: "Hey, if you are fine you can sit with me and chat a little bit?" I asked since I was bored, and this will surely make the old man forget about falling and remember the conversation. He made an even wider smile and said: "Thanks for the proposal, but I have places to be and people to help fulfil their destinies! Destiny is a fragile and changing thing if you don''t grab it will vanish forever...Tell me, don''t you think that your life is miserable right now, Adam?" I was shocked and cautious while I grabbed more firmly my umbrella and thinking of using it as a weapon if needed and asked the old man "Who are you?! Why do you know my name? What do you want?!" He slowly opened his trench coat, I made a few steps back cautiously, and he revealed a massive amount of wrist-clocks on both sides of his jacket, then he slowly opened his mouth and recited a poem: "Down the road of destiny you see your future life you see your future children and you see your future wife Walking down your path of fate you lose grasp of all your dreams you can''t find your accomplishments you lose sight of everything Which path to take, you can''t decide but now you have to choose on one its what you gain that counts and the other its what you lose ... So Adam, which one will you choose?" He said while pointing at the wrist-clocks. It was getting weirder and weirder by the minute; I realized that this old man was just crazy. And also, Adam was a common name; it was not odd that he got it right. I relaxed a little bit and just played along while saying "My path is mine to take, destiny or not, I will walk on the road I choose with the head up and strong steps. Hear me now, old man, that my path is the chosen one!" Oh man, I was bored at hell to recite that HAHA. I randomly began looking at the wrist-clock and cathed one that I thought was gleaming for a second, so I chose that one. The old man extended his hand and gave it to me while closing his coat. He then said "An interesting choice indeed, a difficult but interesting path. May our fate bring us together another time...Adam Jackal..." I was frozen for a second hearing him saying my full name, and when I came back to myself, the old mand was walking under the bridge that was near. I stood up and began sprinting toward that bridge but when I arrived...there was nobody there... Who was that old mand? How much did it know about me? What was the deal with all this destiny, fate and wrist-watches talk? I began to think those questions while looking at the ordinary watch. A simple old-school looking watch with black leather to attach to the wrist. My body shuddered, and then I realize that I left my umbrella on the bench and I was standing on the rain looking at a watch like a moron. I quickly went to pick my umbrella and came back to my apartment. ... Once there, I hang my clothes on my bathroom in an attempt to dry them. I changed into warm clothes and sat on my bed while looking at the watch with my arms interlocked together... I began looking at it from all the angles and touching all the bottoms that it had, but nothing happened... I was frustrated and looked at the back on the watch again. And at the bottom of the metal was a small inscription. It was in English but with very worn out letters. So I began to say it out loud to make it easier to read... "Destiny is farted...no,..fated! Fated to come...to me? Destiny is fated to come to me?" After saying that there was a blinding light and when I opened my eyes, I was in my same apartment but waaaay more rotten and mouldy than it was before. All the windows shattered, and there was a cold and eerie wind coming through them with growling sounds surrounding me. I began to sweat and put my hand on my mouth to not scream. IDK what is this situation, IDK where the fuck I AM! WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING! I began to grab my hair in despair with both of my hands while looking around...I slowly approached a shattered window and looked through it; the sight shocked and froze me into the spot. On the street, they were dozens on human-looking rotting flesh wandering...when they bumped into something they growled and looked at it and then continued walking. I knew this sight; I play on an arcade before; these things are zombies! Shit shit shit! I''m not dreaming I am? I pinched myself so hard that I almost screamed on pain...Shit...this was real... I need information...ASAP! I began cautiously looking around my rotten apartment and found a piece of newspaper... ''Date 20/09/2078 The military is down! Please save yourself and your family! Run and keep running!'' That was the front page of this newspaper... Shit shit SHIT! That was not possible...How? Why??? I punched the floor in frustration, and I made a hole into it...Also, it caused considerable noise... ... I quickly got up and put a wardrobe across the door while leaning against it to keep it in place. Idk if this was secure or not...but is my only choice now... I began to hear something creeping across the stairs, and something or someone started slamming my door... SOMEBODY HELP ME! Chapter 2 - Prep Work Wait! I remember that after reading the inscription of the watch, I arrived here... So if I reread it, I should come back to my fucking world, no? NO?! Please be it that way... I looked at my hands, and the watch was gone. Instead, I got a tattoo of a snake eating itself by the tail, but it was not so visible, and in the middle of the circle that the snake was making, I felt a strange need to touch that space. After I touched it with my other hand, a 50% battery message was displayed on my wrist in the middle of the tattoo before fading away. Shit, so it used half of the battery of whatever that was, to bring me here so I have just enough for a round trip. While I was analyzing this strange tattoo, my neighbor was busy making a hole through the door AND wardrove...I only realized after I dodged an attempt to claw my fucking face. Shit shit shit...I hope this works...I breathed in and said in a clear but not loud voice: "Destiny is fated to come to me." After that, I felt a current go through me and bright light...And I was back at my usual damp apartment...My lovely damp apartment...Jesus, fuck, I have never been happier to be here or anywhere else for that matter in my entire life! I fell on the ground while being mentally exhausted...this was too much to take in... I now can go to an apocalyptic future and come back to my time as I wish...Well, technically, as long I provide sufficient energy to my tattoo... Speaking of which...I rolled up my sleeve and looked at the almost invisible tattoo...I taped in the middle of the symbol, and a dim 1% appeared with a tiny text saying, "Please recharge using energy for usage." Energy? What a generic word...Wait a minute how the hell I''m going to recharge a fucking tattoo? I''m not going to plug into my skin any wires or shit like that! I thought and realized the words of the old man about destiny had something to do with this for sure. Besides, I was thinking about my future for a while, and this old man literally gave me A future. I was still not sure if this was the future of my world or from another timeline. With my mind made up, I decided to use that old taser that my childhood guardian gave me for protection when I was a teen...This is going to hurt for sure, at least I''m going to find out if this is a dream or just a fantasy! I breathed in, pointed the taser at my wrist, close my eyes, and clicked on! .... The expected pain didn''t arrive. I opened my eyes and watched the tattoo. The snake was munching its tail while the % of the energy was increasing in decimals, albeit slowly as fuck. 0.30% 0.50%If you discover this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation. 0.86% After using all the power of the taser, it went up 1%. Shit, it takes too long to charge up the taser to do it again! But at least I verified two things. This is not a dream, and 1% is equal to approximately 1000 volts. So by deduction, I need another 98000 volts to feed this snake. Shit! I can''t pay that much electricity... So it leaves me with no quick options...I need to bust open fuse boxes or put my finger in plugs to absorb the energy... What better place to do this in a shady neighborhood? Almost no cams and everyone is suspicious looking and a suspect. Plus, they hate the police, so they don''t tell shit to them. I''m sorry, neighbors, but a man has to do what a man has to do. But not now, now I''m going to sleep and dream with zombies. ... The next morning I woke up, make a quick breakfast, and took a shower while planing my route of the fuses boxes across Brooklyn. It is a good thing that all this information is online and public knowledge, so anyone even with an old phone like mine can access it. My route was simple; I will hit the fuses box on the outdoors of Brooklyn, away from my home and hospitals to avoid suspicion. Not that anyone would care anyway since in summer like it was right now, blackouts were a frequent issue in a poor neighborhood. After a 40 minutes bus trip, I arrived at a desolate part of Brooklyn. I blend just right and followed the simple rules that kept me alive all these years on the concrete jungle. Don''t make eye contact, avoid loud music/people, and walk fast. Some people looked at me curiously, but they didn''t take another glance at me when I took out my old phone. I wasn''t a good target for robbery. From their perspective, it looked to be too much of a trouble for little gain. Still, even if you are a young male, you have to be careful. There are a few organ collectors and people traffic these days, I saw a few of kidnaps myself. You always have to be alert and search for quick escape routes. Like emergency stairs, houses with loud dogs, or even if all these fails, wear a fake police ID to scare thugs. That last one was risky; I was almost beaten to death when they found out that badge; at least they didn''t kidnap me. After walking on high alert mode, I quickly went to the fuse box and checked that no one was nearby to tie my shoe next to the fuse box. I quickly open the standard lock with my spare hand. Thanks to many late nights coming and going from the orphanage, I developed this one-handed picking technique. Looking as casual as possible and introduced my snake tattoo hand in the now open box. A quick spark and light were leaking from the box, and the angry shouts of the neighbors made my deduction correct! This worked! I walked away casually, standing up, going in a different direction from time to time to avoid tails. And then I checked my tattoo. I tapped into the middle, and a 52% appeared. Great! Now I only needed another fuse box to complete the recharge, and that will be all for a productive day of stealing energy... I mean working! I went to the nearest bus station and took the next bus towards another part of Brooklyn and did the same thing... This time I almost got caught because a dog was barking at me after I left the fuse box. But the owner was used to his dog barking, so he just pulled him away from my direction. After dodging the mob of angry people searching for the culprit, I arrived at a small alley, and I checked my wrist at the tattoo. The snake was solid black and very life-like looking. If you pay a closer look, you could even see that the snake was blinking! Now it displayed a 100% charge of the tattoo, but it also revealed for a second a little small box on the upper left corner inside the circle. The box in question was dimed, much like when the snake was when it was out of power...Maybe it is a gift box! Maybe if I have enough power, I could click on it! Since right now, it was not responding to my touch. I decided to hit a final fuse box on the way home. I took the last bus towards my home and stopped midway there to search for a fusebox not guarded enough. I did it much like the other two times and fled the scene. I arrived at my home panting since I decided to walk there instead of retaking the bus...Since I didn''t have that much money for bus fares. I arrived, took a quick shower, had something to eat after that, and rested on my bed. While I was on the bed, I finally checked the box. I clicked, and the present I was expecting didn''t appear. The box was an interdimensional space of 1 square meter that I could see with my mind. Each time I put something or took something out of the area, it will take energy, the energy required depends on the size of the object. I could also feel like I could expand the box somehow, but I didn''t know-how. All of this information was inside my brain. It was peculiar...Maybe this is how some people get information from their gods, haha, not that I believe in any of them. Anyway, I now completed my first milestone and even got one more present for free! I got energy on my tattoo and got a magical box to stash my porn! Haha, what a good day a felony...I mean work Chapter 3 - Prep Work (2) As much I wanted to test my interdimensional bag, I didn''t want to hunt another fuse box so quickly. Anyway, now I had my tattoo powered up, what was next? Let''s recap, I now could transport myself to the future to somewhere that dates at least from 2078, so it''s at least 60 years more advanced than our world. But somehow all went to shit and now are zombies everywhere, the virus seems to be contagious from one specimen to the other, but not from the air, so I''m safe. Because if it were not like that, I would most likely be already infected. Or maybe I''m already I''m, and the incubation of the virus is weeks long. Oh well, only time will tell. Not use to worry about something I can''t cure or control. Let''s get working on stuff I can do. I remembered that when I used the ability of the tattoo, I appeared on the same spot in the future, maybe I need to test it next time doing it from another place of the apartment. Now the important stuff, what I wanted to do in the future? Literally haha. Well, if they are 60 years more advanced, the technology there would look like we are in the stone age. If I could make a patent and sell it, I could be wealthy for life! But...that would be dangerous, how can a regular 20-ish guy obtain alien technology and sell it? Shit, the Government would lock me up and torture me for answers... No thanks, Uncle Sam. Think Adam Think!!! ... I got it! If the situation looked so wrong with zombies and shit, people would gladly do anything for food! And those precious metals like Silver, Gold, Emerald, and all those people hoarder all their life is meaningless! I will go to the future, exchange food for gold/jewelry, and then come back home! After that, I will use that money to fund my own company with a lot of security to present this technology with self-destruct features if someone wants to replicate them! Oh, Adam, you are a genius! I know Adam, I know. Yes, I developed a habit of talking to myself as I don''t have any friends and I live alone, sue me! ... That''s cool and all, but how can I defend myself in an apocalyptic world with no weapons or skills? I don''t have money to buy a gun form Wallmart I have my expenses counted with only room for 30 or 40 extras bucks if I reduce my dinner sometimes. I could take a loan, but I don''t want to leave a paper trail behind me to allow people to ask questions... I could go to a shady loaner, but those are more trouble than they are worth... Well, I will have to make use of what I got to defend in the apocalyptic world, no risk, no gain. I began to search my apartment; it was a quick search because I kept my stuff organized and also because I''m poor as fuck and I don''t have a lot of shit. The results were the following: -> One old aluminum bat for intruders -> One old discharged taser (currently charging) -> One old sofa I listed the sofa...because I only had that for defense, I could use the cushions of the sofa as self-made bitting sleeves for zombies. I know it is not the best, but I do what I can with what I got. Plus, I need to use those 20 or 30 bucks to buy tape, glue, and other materials to make it sturdier. So I have an aluminum bat for close combat against zombies/humans and also a short-range taser for humans.Unauthorized content usage: if you discover this narrative on Amazon, report the violation. Shit...That''s not a lot, but it had to do. I thought of making the trip to the future as soon the armor was made but decided to remain calm and use my fucking brain. I have no rush to go there. I mean, I know I want to go as soon as possible to have a change in my monotonous and boring life, but that doesn''t mean I''m a suicidal kid. I leave that job for other people to contribute to human overpopulation. So what would I do? Easy, train with the weapon of my choice ¡ª the mighty aluminum baseball bat. I then proceed to go to the library where you can use a computer for hours and began to look at routines to train with the bat ¡ª striking methods and also stamina training programs. As you know, striking with a blunt weapon use a lot of effort, that without taking in the account wearing a heavy self-made armor made from an old sofa. I went to that library for one week in a row; it was a difficult thing to do with two jobs, one of my jobs was flipping burgers and the other one moving stuff in a warehouse. But the good thing about those jobs that were no-brainers so you can do your job automatically while thinking about other things. Like thinking where to hit with a baseball bat and how much force has enough to apply to crush a skull without wasting necessary energy or using the least possible movements. Thank god I wasn''t the only one looking weird shit on the computer in that place, gotta love NY and freaky fetishes. I swear I saw a dude jerking off gazing at a catalog of woman feet, man I can''t wait to get out of this place ASAP. I finished making my routine of training for using the bat and the stamina training. I would start my day waking up, having a good healthy breakfast and then went running across the neighbor. Not a lot of people would do this because of the danger, what you don''t know if you don''t carry expensive shit you are not a target. That includes your sneakers that most people don''t pay attention to, but here is an essential key to staying good with everyone. Even if they know you, if you were expensive footwear, even your neighbor would try to steal from you if you are not careful enough. Well, after going running across the neighbor, I would go to flipping burgers, and on my break, I would utilize that moment to train with a piece of stick that I carry on my locker for training. It was similar to a wood bat, albeit a lot more ugly and with a lot more splinters. I would train for about 40 minutes behind the dumpster near my work, clean my sweat with a towel from my home, spray some deodorant, eat a massive salad with chicken, and continue my work. Then I would go to the warehouse, where I would focus on making my movements steady and slow as possible in order not to injure myself. My supervisor was annoying me telling me to hurry up, but I didn''t take that advice at the hearth, because only orphans desperate as me will work here for that little pay, not even illegal Mexicans would work here. They preferred construction works; their payment is a lot better, but the conditions a lot worse, but hey, illegals don''t have a choice. I did, but not so much because money gives you the ability to choose. After my two jobs, I would go to my apartment and continue my bat training combining with endurance training. The good thing is that all the neighbors were adapted to tolerate screaming, hittings, and noise at any given time since this place overpopulated with kids and people with no inner voice whatsoever. So I could jump, train, and even hit the wall for a target. I stopped doing that as the card box walls destroyed in 2 hits. I continue with that scheme of doing that with one change at the end of the 3rd month. They fired me from the flipping burgers restaurant; it seems that one of my coworkers was curious about what I was doing in my lunch break behind the dumpster. So she went and found me doing my routine, and she filmed me and posted on Instagram with the caption saying, "Don''t try to rob here! Even the flip-burgers can kick yo asss!! LMAO!" The video went viral, and the company fired me since I was wearing their uniform and representing their image in a lousy way hitting with imaginary targets. The good thing was that they paid me in advance all my rest of the week, the bad thing is I don''t have enough money now for paying my expenses two weeks from now. Another good thing is that I have more time to train and I can finally have an excuse to go to the future. Oh, and the "armor" was stiff and protective. I used a lot of cushions and even some wood from the sofa as support. I had one in each of my arms and legs. I wish I could train with this armor on the street to prepare my self with the weight. But I didn''t want to bring more attention, with that video was enough. I would train the bat and stamina routines at my home wearing my armor, so it helped but was static as fuck. I saved a little more than 100 dollars and decided to buy a good backpack for 50 dollars and 50 dollars of supplies like canned food and other tasty stuff to tempt the people of the future. So after three months of training, I was finally ready to go to the future to follow my destiny. I was all equipped and ready, even with a little surprise and experiment in my backup to try, I placed myself on the corner of my apartment near the bathroom and said in a low: "Destiny is fated to come to me." A bright light covered me and made possible the so awaited travel towards riches and destiny. Chapter 4 - Exploring After the bright light, I arrived at my future apartment, my hypothesis of the place where I teleport matters became invalid since I landed on the same spot. I stood in place and analyzed my apartment since it was not safe. This is a world where zombies roamed free! You need to be on constant alert! It was exhausting but thrilling as well... The place was still the same as I left it, with the wardrobe blocking the door with a massive hole in the middle of the closet with claw marks around the hole. I looked through the hole and saw a zombie standing in the hallway, thanks to the dim light from a broken window. It seems that it was morning as well as in the past ¡ª a good thing to take into account. The zombie began to sniff into the air and slowly came towards me. Shit, the zombie still detected me. I had the idea of having a pungent odor plant made into a paste and sprayed it on top of my body to camouflage my odor. But it seemed that the concept was not bright enough for these fucking zombies. The zombie detected a strange smell and decided to investigate waddling towards me. Shit! I am a moron! What kind of plant would grow in this apocalyptic world? Of course, the zombie would look confused as fuck and also would be curious about that strange smell! While I was criticizing myself for being dumb as fuck, the zombie passed approximately the 15 meters mark of my door and looked right at me. He stood a half-second in place and began to scream a top of his lungs and began sprinting towards me. I decided to wait for the zombie to hit the door while putting all my strength holding the wardrobe in place. ... BANG! The fucking zombie almost tilted the wardrobe; it was a good thing that I was holding in place. He decided that it was a good idea to use his head as a ramming head like one of those siege weapons. So his head was exposed being in the middle of the hole of the wardrobe, I waited for a second to adjust into my striking pose and hit it hard. .. CRACK! And no more noise after that...I panted and dropped on the floor. Afterward, I began to throw up. I know, I know! This was a fucking zombie! I don''t need to feel bad! But this is not a fucking rabbit; this is a thing similar to a human! I don''t know how I will be able to kill another human being. I hope I don''t need to do it personally, maybe some of the natives here will gladly do it for me? IDK. After cleaning my mouth with some clean water, I began to clean my weapon too. I need a better grip, and the blood dripping into the handle is not helping. Afterward, I dried my bat with a rag I had in my bag. I moved the wardrobe, opened the door, dragged the body inside my room, and quickly closed the door because I made quite a noise. I think these zombies are sensitive to sound and smell. Once alone with the putrefactive body, I swallowed my vomit in my mouth and began inspecting it. Know your enemy is one of the essential rules for survival. So I began to examine his head with a pair of discard gloves that I brought out of the medkit I brought along. The eyes were dim, almost like he was blind. The ears and nose were averages looking except that they didn''t have any hair in them; maybe that helped them to enhance their senses? IDK. I guess they are a lot of scientist here who know zombies far better than me. I carefully opened his mouth with a piece of wood that fall from the hole of the door. Meticulously so I don''t cut myself with his teeth. I saw all the regular human teeth, but they were a lot sharper than healthy teeth. The wood began to crack, and I quickly finished examing his mouth. Next was the neck, the weak point of all vertebrates creatures of the world. Maybe they have it protected somehow? Perhaps the evolution or regression of these zombies took into account that weakness in their system and tried to protect it.Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings. My assumption was right, his neck looked covered in little fish-like scales, and under it was a bulge. My curiosity gained on me. I decided to slowly cut it open if it were gas or an explosion; I would go back to the past immediately. I slowly cut it open with my swiss knife, and it revealed a little black crystal, the size of a thumb. It was dim but odd-looking. While I was examining that crystal, my tattoo began to shine, as it was calling me. I looked at it curiously while it was flickering. So I decided to approach the crystal to the center of the tattoo. Immediately the crystal converted into dust, and a "59%" prompt popped up from the center of the tattoo. Shit, so one crystal of this is equal to 10% of energy for my tattoo? That''s not a lot for a freaking running fill disease zombie. Anything to stop popping up fuse boxes in Brooklyn, right? They have enough problems already to add that into the equation. After my small discovery, I began to look at his extremities; their nails were long and sharp looking. They seemed capable of slashing metal if they had enough time. His feet were average looking, with no claws or anything ¡ª just filthy feet. I checked it''s reproductive parts, and they were in a state of putrefaction, so there is no danger about these things reproducing at least. After I finished with my little play as a doctor, I slowly began to cut up the stomach of the zombie. That took me around 30 minutes between swallowing my vomit in my throat and hyperventilating for seeing so much blood for the first time. After I completed my "operation," I finally founded a fix for my past mistake, the smell. It detected me from my smell before it even heard me or saw me. Besides, it looked pretty lazy when it was in the sun; it moved slowly. Maybe on the outside is safer now? I checked the window, and they were fewer zombies outrages than before. All the zombies looked pretty dumb, staring at the sun like flowers. Maybe that''s why their eyesight got so shit, haha. So if my assumption were correct, at night, it would be like hell broke loose. So if you are inside the buildings, you need to be careful of the remaining zombies inside, since they don''t have light to make them slow ¡ª a good thing to know. So now I fixed the smell issue? Simple, I used his guts and put them on my shoulders and smeared blood on my clothes. That should mask my odor pretty nicely. At least to allow me to sneak by some of them. It was not pleasant to do that, not at all. But I had to do it for my safety. , I exited the room as silent as possible and began to look around the hallway. All the doors were open, some of them looked brute-forced as like someone kicked them. I cautiously looked around some of the apartments; they were almost empty and destroyed as mine. A couple of them had sci-fy looking technology, but they were not working. Like a self-adherent clock to a wall that stuck at a date or kitchen appliances that looked cool, but I had no way of turning them on. I grabbed a couple of clocks that were portables, a lamp tiny that fitted my pocket that didn''t have enough of bright light and a lighter that looked like a flame, but it was like a combination of different types of lasers ¡ª really cool gadgets. I don''t plan to sell them, only to collect them first. In the 4th apartment, I found a zombie in the kitchen. It began to sniff in my direction, looking confused and then ignored me. I released my breath of the tension; I quickly adjusted and struck him in the back, breaking his head against the kitchen floor. I retrieved the crystal and kept it on my backpack. I don''t plan to use it again on my tattoo. Maybe they have another use here in the future. I quickly searched on the whole floor. I founded another two zombies that were as easy to kill as the last one. But the last one never broke eye contact with me; he suspected of me even when he died. Rest in peace, Mr. Zombie, your crystal will be used with the utmost respect. Did I feel bad for killing zombies? Yes and no. Yes, because I was killing human beings with slightly different ADN and NO because they were freaking zombies trying to kill me and eat my flesh. Let just say that my training was worth it. After exploring the whole floor, I began descending the stairs as quiet as possible, also looking for those motherfucking glass bottles between steps. I found none; I think people in the future don''t litter as much as in the past! Who figured! I began to hear noises and banging against a door. I looked over the corner and saw five zombies hitting, slashing, and beating against a metal door. Why was a metal door only on this floor and that apartment? I have no clue, but this is not the time to think that! I need to save the people inside that place, at least to gain some intel from this world. It is a risky move, but it is just what I need, and I just need to take it. Now how to engage five mad zombies without dying?
