《Summoning the Queen of Hell》 The Coronation Sitri blinked, two violet eyes heavy with thick black lashes blinking back at her in the mirror. Her hair was usually a dark waterfall cascading down her back; but today it was carefully curled and pinned behind her horns into an elaborate hairstyle she had spent hours letting them pull her hair and prick her head just to achieve. Perfect for the crown to rest upon. Her dress was black, barely stretching over her ample breasts and draping down her waist, leaving her back bare, spinning down to a skirt of maroon flames with a slit up to her hip. She was as beautiful as she was powerful which was usually how it worked for demons, the higher classed demons being able to blend in on earth. She enjoyed her form in particular as it was perfect to hunt men''s souls, her favorite. A royal cape of violet circled around her slender white shoulders, the heavy white trim covering her jet black wings, folded closely against her back. She tilted her head and licked her lips, her full red lips pulling into a wry smile. She looked like a queen. She could almost hear her father slick voice behind her, slippery as an eel congratulating her for becoming what she had fought so hard against. She closed her eyes and thought of everything it took to get her here. To her becoming the Queen of Hell after her father Lucifer. She would become the new symbol of evil. Her words would strike fear in the lesser demons as they scrambled to serve her and she had free reign, in fact, encouragement to deal as much chaos and travesty as she could. In a blink of an eye, she had the power to lay hundreds of men to waste without a flicker of emotion. She could make the Heavens tremble with her power and raw potential. That is what it meant to be daughter of Lucifer. To be the Queen of Hell. That was of course if she accepted it. Which she would of course, because this is what she was born for. The only thing she was born for. Was this really what she wanted? She never had time to ask herself. If she had been born in a different situation where would she be? Maybe who would she be? She shook her had, it was silly to have regrets mere moments from being crowned she was having her doubts. While it was true her fate was now not completely her father''s, someone still had to take the throne and she would never let her brothers bear that burden. After all, this was her destiny alone. A sharp knock interrupted her from her musings as outside a male guard called "Your majesty, it is time". She completed her ensemble by slipping on her mother''s old necklace, holding the purple tear shaped amysist tightly in her palm for a moment as she mentally pulled herself together. On her head she placed a small crown of black thorns and roses with a full body veil coming down in a cloud of black lace covering her form. It was time whether she had asked for it or not. Her fate awaited her outside those doors. This content has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere. With a deep breath, she squared her shoulders and stepped out, a vision of glory and darkness and glided down the carpet, each step a step closer to destiny. The heavy oak doors are held open as she gracefully slipped inside to the bows of heavily armed guards. The clamorings of the demons quieted a few notches as she ascended the steps to the throne. Almost every demon in Hell was there to gawk at the new Queen that had defeated Lucifer the King of darkness. It was up to her to keep them in thier place and make sure they knew who was truely in power now. At the top waited the small hunched figure of the High Demon Priest, Augustus. He glared at her with his yellowed eyes and wrinkly face, grasping the crown in his green talons. He was her fathers follower but forced to comply to tradition and laws to crown the heir. On the top step she kneels and he callously removed her veil and threw it aside, placing the heavy crown of Hell upon her head. A crown made from hellfire, black as soot coming up in sharp spires. Not the daintiest of crowns but as it was meant too, had the aura of death and darkness, the perfect crown for the Underworld. She pledged her immortal life and soul to serving hell faithfully before Augustus beckoned her to stand with his scrawny fingers. Standing with dignity, she raised her arms and wings, stretching them out fully from under the cape so they caught all the shimmers of violet whereupon every demon dropped to thier knees and placed thier head to the ground in a show of the deepest respect. She was the new Queen! "You may rise" She says graciously after a few moments, folding her wings away. "And we shall proceed to the banquet." "All hail the Queen!!!" Came the raucous and joyous cries as hoards of greedy demons raced for the banquet hall and smells of delicious foods. Later there would be many festivities, mainly fighting and drinking as that was how many demons passed their time. She lingered back for a moment, more so than looking forward to food, she was looking forward to seeing her dear brothers which she hadn''t seen since the Hell Takeover. All three of them where special and had a deep connection. She would have had gone down a very different path without them and she would always protect them with everything she had. For a moment she let herself remember how exactly she got here. Starting all the way from the beginning. The Beginning Her story began before her birth with her father. Lucifer Nightshade. The story was well known amongst humans in their Holy book, the bible. As the bible went, Lucifer was the handsomest and smartest of the angels and was God''s right hand. However he was not content with his own great powers, he soon grew jealous of God''s power and wanted it for his own. And so upon gathering his followers, he waged war on God but of course God won, and Lucifer was ultimately cast out. His followers where cast out with him and God gave them horns and tails and disfigurements as punishments and thrown into hell. Lucifer''s powers and a select few higher angels who would become the higher class demons, prevented then from becoming too disfigured but their wings where now dark and leathery instead of the white feathers of heaven forever marking them as Banished. As for Lucifer, there was no denying he was now the King of Darkness. He could control his form at will and his true one was terrible indeed to behold, few have seen it and kept their senses about them to retell the tale as many went crazy. When he was banished, he stole with him the most beautiful angel and most powerful angel in heaven he could find. He considered this his right. As soon as he touched her down to Hell''s charred ground her white wings crumbled and faded into ash and she became the first demoness. Together they had a child, Sitri, a demon with parents of immeasurable powers. She was expected to grow up just as great if not greater than her parents as a siegal of darkness. However when Sitri was a still child a human found out how to break the barrier between hell and earth and somehow managed to summon the unsuspecting current Queen of Hell. Gracious and impressed the woman who had summoned her had accomplished such a feat the Queen granted the woman one desire and then she would return home. The woman agreed and made her wish; she desired to be the most powerful human in the world. True to the demons word, after staying with her for a short time the woman was a very powerful figurehead in politics and very wealthy but she still wasn''t happy. She soon wanted the demons magic for herself. Going farther into voodoo and ancient dark magics the woman found a way to drain a demons power and take it for herself. When the time came for the Queen to leave back to her family in hell as promised, the woman enacted her plan and took the Queens power for herself, reducing the Queen to dust and ending her immortal life. This woman became the first witch. Lucifer went berserk after his wife''s death, often going up to earth for heavy killing sprees on his hunt to find the witch. The witch was clever and he never did find her although he would kill the occasional decendant if they grew careless. He made a law where a human summoning a demon would be required to make a contract where the demon would grant the wish but with the price of thier soul. This also protected the demons as if the human broke thier end of the deal or tried to trick the demon, the demon would have permission to devour thier soul immediately. A few decades later, while Sitri is barely entering her teen stage as demons age slower than humans; he found a fallen angel that couldn''t get back to heaven. He had his fun with her and left her for dead, mangled on the side of the road. She lived and gave birth to a boy, half demon half angel. She died during childbirth, the demon half of her child corrupting her who was made of entirely pure energy. Lucifer found the boy shortly after humans spread tales near and wide about a baby with black and white wings and violet eyes. No one dared go near it unsure if it was cursed or holy. Unauthorized use: this story is on Amazon without permission from the author. Report any sightings. He nearly killed the boy, disgusted by him and his angel blood but began to think of using him and the potentials of a halfling. He might even be able to use the child as a gate to heaven. Rather than thoughts of fatherly love, Lucifer took his son home and named him Sebastian, planning of the power and destruction he could cause him to bring. The duties of parenting fell to Sitri who took care of her new half brother as her father did not care about either of them beyond their potential. Lucifer began giving her lessons on how to be a ruler. Often throughout he''d interweave long sessions of torture where he''d rip strips of skin from her back laughing as she screamed. He ensured she always listened to his word and never disobeyed with that and other creative ways. He said she reminded him of his wife who was foolish for having allowed herself to be killed. She bore it as long as it was for her brother and was always glad when he went back to earth for his next rampage. Lucifer came to hear a rumor of a Prophesy about 3 keys. The daughter born of a demoness would became the key of hell. And the demon son born half of an angel would became the key of heaven. The prophesy went that if there was a child of half human half demon he would become the key to earth. The humans called him the anti christ as he would then bring about the end of days when the 3 keys where activated together. This would destroy all three realms. He knew this could only be his children who would have the power of celestials. He set his sights on ultimate power and ultimate destruction. He went to earth trying to find a woman who would bear his child, the anti christ. However, every single woman died after the act purely from the evil energy he radiated. Only one woman somehow managed to survive him. She manager to hid his child despite being concerned about it being the anti-christ of the stories. She named him Stolas and managed to hide him until around 13 where his powers, slow to come in his half human body exploded out, leveling his small city. Lucifer was alerted by the explosion of power and found the half demon boy in the middle of carnage and bodies with his half violet, half green eyes and knew him as his ill begotten son of earth. He was impressed by what he had done, despite it being unintentional. And he recognized the trauma the boy was going through having just killed his mother and entire town and fully inteded to exploit it. He brought Stolas back to hell and waited for the end that never came. He was angry when the keys wouldn''t activate and often tortured all three of them in his frustrations and as he did experiments on how to activate the keys within them. To spare her brothers Sitri stepped up into her role as Queen. She would sometimes go with her father to lay villages to waste and demonstrate her upcoming power. She would sometimes have to hide them for extended periods of time until his rage wore off. He never hit her face because she was to be Queen but he wasn''t above anything with her brothers. After the keys didn''t work, Lucifer only wanted his puppet Queen and ordered her to kill them. She refused, offering anything in return. After he tortured her for weeks and she still wouldn''t give in he promised if she slaughtered every single person she had ever known or gotten close too then he would allow her brothers to live on earth in peace. Breaking her heart so she could harden it, she agreed and fully blacked her heart with the blood of her loved ones for the cost of her brothers lives. She then sent them to earth for hopes of a better future on earth where they thought she abandoned them. Unbeknownst to to Sitri though, Lucifer was still trying to find his sons to either harvest their power or kill them. After a while enough was enough. Sebastian was a young adult and Stolas a teen when they came to find Sitri with the plea to help them end his power so they could live in peace. They each had almost came into their full powers, and so they decided to end thier father''s reign forever. Thus began the Hell Takeover. Hell Takeover Sitri had been dead asleep when she heard the strange noise at the glass. No demons dared trespass the castle of Hell. She blinked once and looked towards the window, her demons sight sharp in the dark. She was shocked and overjoyed when she immediately recognized the faces of her two younger half brothers. She threw open the window, dragging the two inside before any guards would see them and alert the King. She embraced the pair tightly but her joy instantly turned to worry. "What are you doing here? I told you never to come back!" She cried. Sebastian crooked a brow, "Yes you made that quite clear sister.." He states, his voice heavy with sadness and betrayal. "We''re not here for a social call." Sitri smoothed a lock of her hair down, her hair still very much in a disheveled bed head state. "Then what brings you back to Hell?" She wondered, "you could have gotten caught!" Sebastian sighed. "It''s father. He keeps finding us. He wants us gone. We can''t hide and run forever." "But he promised.." "Look" interjected the youngest, Stolas silent until now "when has father kept his word?" The three considered this. "I''ll talk to father.." Sitri faltered. "No. He won''t stop trying to find us. We have to kill him first" Stolas said firmly. Sebastian nodded in agreement. "We need your help. Together we can overthrow Lucifer. And you can keep your throne. Except now you won''t have father dictating your choices. Please sister. This is the only way." Sitri was not her fathers number one fan but she still felt a tinge of loyalty to her own blood. Not to mention going against Lucifer would a great feat in itself, being the second most powerful celestial being under God. While they where born of him and with great powers, Lucifer had the benefit of many years and experience as well as a cunning mind coupled with terrifying power made him a foe unlike any she''d ever faced. "Just.. give me until the morning to think about it" Her brothers seemed disappointed but agreed. "I can hide you in my closet, it''s almost as big as a room and no one else goes in there." She made up a bed inside the closet and as they settled down to sleep she thought about thier request. Killing her father. She couldn''t deny what her brothers said was true. Although Lucifer had made her pay the ultimate price to keep her brothers alive, he went back in his word and now wanted to get rid of his failures. Her own dear brothers who she basically raised herself. She thought about how he fathered them all and his treatment of her and decided she had no sense of loyalty for the demon after all. He was never their father in anything but a sperm donator. In the morning she would tell them her decision. The next morning the plans to take over hell began. For months she hid them and during the day when most demons where away or sleeping they would practice honing thier powers. Finally they felt ready enough and had gathered up the courage to confront their father in a battle that would shake the underworld to its core. Each dressed carefully for the battle to come. Sebastian slicked back his short black hair. Usually his wings where hidden but today they where out in full glory. Huge feathery white wings with the tips of the darkest black. His eyes where the same color as his sisters and he simply wore a black suit, something he was most comfortable in. However, under the suit he wore a thin layer of magical spells, drawn onto his skin with dark fairy ink. To his back he strapped a sword. To the rest, he relied on his magic. He didn''t look intimidating he acknowledged but as long as he could survive and take down his father then everything is worth it. He was as ready as he could ever be. Siri''s dress was made of thousands of dragon scales which where very resilient against both magic and physical attacks. It was a deep violet with flashes of indigo and maroon. The neck was and back where cut into deep v''s, sloping below her wings so they could be free. The skirt was cut short in a slanted pattern and belted together with a belt with 3 sheathes for a sword, a dagger and a small set of throwing knives. Her boots where armored and the same color as the dress, continuing halfway up her calf. "I guess I''m ready" Sitri thought to herself, her hand resting lightly on the swords hilt. She started to wonder if it would be that very sword that.. She shook her head. They''ve already made it this far, she needed to just focus and do what she was supposed too. Stolas pushed his shaggy black hair out of his face. Being half demon, his body aged much slower and at the tender age of 16 he was about to start a battle with his own father. His worried mismatched eyes gazed out at him, green and violet. He was shorter than his siblings, reaching up to the middle of his brothers chest and Sitris chin. However he made up for it in genius, although they often counted on his brains for a tactical advantage, Lucifer was quite sharp himself and had centuries more experience. He began suiting up in armor made in demons fire, fireproof and almost indestructible. It was pitch black, each piece clinking into place. He had to protect himself the most being the most vulnerable as part human. Once dressed it gave him a few inches giving him the impression of being slightly taller which he definitely enjoyed. The chest plate had a purple crest on it, his family''s crest. It stood for power and that is what he needed. The suit was a gleaming masterpiece, an intimidating metal soldier. Finally they where ready, there was no backing down now as they would likely get caught and killed or tortured for treason. The found their father in the courtyard, about to ascend to earth to wreck his chaos. He saw them, decked out in thier battle gear and changed his plans. At first their father laughed, a deep rumble that shook the ground. "You dare betray me?! Kneel!" He thought to intimidate them but they stood thier ground. Sebastian stretched out his half angel wings and declared "No!" before hurling a ball of light towards his father, catching his shoulder. Lucifer smirked "Was that all you had?" He flicks his wrist towards his son, sending an invisible blade towards him in the blink of an eye, magically sharpened to even be able to kill an immortal. Stolas knew his tricks and jumped in front of the spell and throwing out his forearm. His armor deflected it and sent it back towards his father, cutting a small cut in his cheek.Stolen story; please report. Lucifer bellowed, enraged. Sitri jumped into action and threw her 3 throwing knives straight into his gaping mouth. With a snarl he breathed out fire and melted the blades before they reached him, his flame even melting the magic imbued within. "I''m so disappointed in you daughter. These half bloods I understand but you are to be Queen. Such a waste. Just like your mother" He hissed. "Have you ever considered that mother let herself be summoned so she could escape from you?" Sitri hissed back "We are done with you. I will still be Queen but you will not be there!!" She flew up, her wings stretched wide in midair shimmering with undertones of purple. Her eyes flashed deep indigo as she raised her arms and with a single flap of her wings she gathed all her power and hurtled it towards him with a huge rush of wind, knoking him to the side and slightly stunning the great King. Sebastian followed lead, his power a blinding white ball of energy that hit his other side. Stolas had planned this and when the king was blinded from the two blows he struck with his sword and muttering a magic spell to strengthen his blow and sharpen his sword he struck the king down. Sitri stepped close to Lucifer with her sword. "It''s over." She poised her own sword over his heart, to make sure it never beat again. "Not quite" Lucifer''s eyes snapped open and he flung her into the wall hundreds of feet away. He grabbed Stolas and tried to bite but he couldn''t get through the armor so he began to squeeze. "Even a demon can''t survive after exploding" he laughed "NO!!" Sebastian cried. Stolas had been there with him all that lonely time on earth and he was not about to lose him now to his father. Drawing his own sword he darted towards his father who now had grown over 50 feet tall. Charging with all his might he went for his heart, only to be knocked aside by a single finger as his father played with him as his brother''s organs squeezed. Sitri however was not down for the count. She took advantage of the diversion and went behind Lucifer and flew up to stolas. "I need your power" Sitri said urgently, knowing the boy was no longer able to fight. He would one day be a force to reckon with but for now he was still only a 16 year old boy. "No..t much use to me now" he whispered, as snarky as ever, red very human blood dripping down his mouth. She drew him near, her lips mere inches from his and she breathed in. His power came in a rush filling her like caffeine. She lifted the sword and with one swift cut she cut Lucifer''s hand off, catching Stolas as he fell to the ground, unconscious. She flew him off to a safe distance and gave him a healing spell. He would be fine to recover on his own. She rushed back to the battle where her father met her with a black void she immediately started being sucked into. She flapped her wings and strained away but it kept pulling her. "Help!" Sebastian was closer to the hole than she was and barely clinging onto a stalagmite protruding from almost everywhere in hell. There was no other chance, she would have to cancel his magic. She stopped struggling and faced it. In her hands grew a fireball of black and purple flames, it became the size of the hole and then bigger and even her fathers eyes widened as she threw it towards his void, it crashed into it and exploded. Sebastian was sent flying but caught himself with his wings. The explosion and knocked her father back quite a distance and they cautiously approached. All she did was cancel one spell, the war was not over. "I''m almost impressed" her father grunted, rising to his feet, his handless arm clutched against his body. "I would think you''d be a little more than impressed when you only have one hand" Sitri taunted, gathering energy for the next attack. "I don''t need any hands to finish you ungrateful brat!!" Lucifer roared. His next attack leveled the ground creating a huge hole where she had just been. Lightning fast she lept into air, narrowly avoiding the following repercussions. She weaved in and out, lashing out at his body with her sword as Sebastian helped with his own, flooding thier swords with every spell they could imagine of pain and destruction. "You''ll hack at me with toothpicks? You won''t hardly make it challenging" Lucifer grinned, blood running down his body but many of the cuts where already healing. Delighted to oblige, Sitri flew at him in a ball of black energy, she hit him, crackling with dark electricity. His back straightened and his eyes rolled back as his entire body jolted back. His head snapped back and his eyes gleamed black as he charged them, he slammed them both the the ground repeatedly. "I will make you pay a thousand fold for the pain you''ve caused me today" He threw them into the wall, creating impressions. He opened his one hand it changed into a deadly claw, ready to shred them apart. They where stunned and couldn''t move. "I would say remember this moment, but by tomorrow it won''t matter anyways" Lucifer laughed cruely. Sitri shook her head. They couldn''t die here. What was all this for then? She struggled and tried to clear her mind. She just needed a moment. She was at a disadvantage still because of his pure size. She did not ever practice becoming a giant. She hit him with a few explosions that almost seemed to bounce off of him. Sebastian stirred beside her and they tried to get a short distance from thier giant foe. "Still trying?" He snarled. He slammed his hands into the ground, causing the ground to rip upward in a huge earthquake wave. They where knocked but had managed to fly a couple feet up before the debrees hit to escape the brunt of the damage. Sebastian weaved around him, flying in and out and dealing as many powerful blows to his fathers weak spots as possible. Thier father was slowly becoming tired out. They where also beaten and tired but they still had hope. In the air Sitri made spears of black flame which she sent hurtling towards his vital organs but Lucifer dispensed her magic with his arm. However she did notice his arm was badly burned despite him trying to hide it. Lucifer roared in anger. His attacks grew more wild but also more uncoordinated and unfocused. "I still can''t do this alone, we have to do it together" Sitri declared. She was fast running out of stolas''s power. "Together we are demon, angel, and, human and that will be enough to pierce him through. We have to do it now while he''s still weakened." Stolas had done his research about the 3 keys and while he didn''t know how or want too how to activate them fully. But he did know how they could borrow their power because it was thier own power and together they where unstoppable. He had indulged this to Sitri before she had left him to heal safely. Sebastian nodded, his suit now in shreds, exposing his skin glistening with sweat and blood. The writing still swirled across his chest and abs but the protective benefits where nearly gone. He had to rely on his own toughness and ability to cope. Sitri stretched her hand out to him and he grasped it firmly. Together thier powers began to glow, a fire mixed with green and purple with white running through it. They charged towards him, thier powers growing more intense as they drew closer to thier father, the force of thier emotions and powers a sight to behold. At the last moment the two pulled off and the massive beam of energy thier power created slammed into him stronger than a cannon. With that final blow, thier power exploded right through the King of Hells chest. For a moment Luifer stood frozen in disbelief, his mouth hanging open as he was about to speak but before he had the chance his entire body exploded into ashes and sparks before fading away entirely. The King was gone. In victory, Sitri and Sebastian stumbled to find thier younger brother where she had left him and the siblings hugged each other. Although weakened and exhausted, they felt almost free with thier father not looming over them anymore. They had done it. "I guess this means I''m Queen now" Sitri started, already back to real life, her shoulders already drooped from the responsiblity. They hardly ever stopped to think of what would come next. Was she even ready for this? She had helped to protect her brothers and now she is to take the throne many years ahead of schedule. Maybe she didn''t even want to be the Queen of Hell. What if she was to become her father? Who is she supposed to be? "I''m sure you''ll do great! We''ll help spread the word of the Queen that vanquished the King!" Her brothers assured her, thier focus more on wanting to celebrate thier victory and spread thier news. "But that''s not why I was worried.." She murmered under her breath. After celebrating thier victory, the brothers soon left to spread word of the new ruler and the demise of the King. They would be back in a few days time. Within a few days she was to be Queen. There was nothing else to do but focus on the next few days. She turned to go back into the castle.. no. Her castle. She had better start getting ready for her coronation. What Comes After Sitri shook herself from her musings of the past. It was time to look forward to the future, a future of Queen. She strode down the hall with royal grace, inclining her head ever so slightly to the guards prostrating themselves on the floor as she passed. Standing the guards signal to the guards ahead who open the door with a grand flourish for her. The demons inside are too busy feasting uproariously, food flying in almost every direction to even notice her enter. Luckily her table was in the forefront of the room, raised above the rest. There where only 3 chairs at this table. All three chairs where gold with velvet cushion seats. Her chair was slightly larger with elaborate crarvings. She had arranged the chairs so her brothers would be on each side of her but noticed Stolas had moved his chair to the furthest side of the table with Sebastian between them. Sitri sighed, the youngest one didn''t quite trust her after thier many years apart and much preferred the company of his elder brother who he had spent considerably more time with. Smiling widely she approached him first, crushing him to her chest in a huge hug. "Brother!" She exclaimed lovingly. He unceremoniously picked himself of her hold and gave her a cursory nod. "Hello sister" He muttered before returning to pick at his food. She then moved on to Sebastian kissing him once on each cheek. "I''ve missed you both!" He smiles, "and I you sister" Sitri sat down in her chair besides him. "How have you been?" "Well..." He started shyly "I''m a contracted demon" he pulled his hand out from under the table on on the underside of the wrist was thier family crest glowing a soft purple, the sign of a contact. Had she not already been sitting, Sitri would have fallen from the shock. "How could you?? You''re the crown prince of Hell. Don''t you remember my mother?" Her brother shifted uncomfortably, "I know sister but I''m part angel. I think a part of me just wants to help people. With a contract I can at least make a humans life worth something." Sitri sneered "What do you care about humans? Weak sniveling things. We are above them. Do not forget.. at the end of the contract, they render ties to thier immortal soul... angel." "That''s why I have to make it count!" Sebastian spoke exitedly and earnestly. "I just decided to see what would happen and someone who really needed me called for me. I was lonely sister" Stolas hurumphed from besides him, offended "and this human makes time seem a little enjoyable with something to do and focus on." Sitri arched an eyebrow cynically "makes time seem a little enjoyable.. Your humans life will pass within a blink of an eye to an immortal like us. What.. are you in love?" she scoffed. "Well then there you go sister, all the more not to worry. A humans life is not that long so even if things go awry it would not matter, just a spec in time. And as for being in love.. I wouldn''t say that but.. I want to protect him" She considered his logic. As long as he wasn''t getting hurt she supposed. Because of the contract humans would not be able to go against it or try to kill or overpower the demon as it would immediately nullify the contract and thier soul would immediately be consumed the demon. She was unclear about his relationship to the human as he seemed to close for her liking but he seemed genuinely happy. What was she going to say about it, she was no stranger to lonliness.Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation. "...So after the banquet you''ll be returning to your..." she could barely spit the word out "human?" "Yes. He let me leave for the day but I have to protect and serve him. He is my master now". Sitris shoulders drooped "It''s sad to see you stooped so low. I was hoping you both would stay here at the castle now that father was gone.." Sebastian placed his hand on hers apologetically. "I''m sorry, I just had to do something after we killed father. Something to distract myself." "I understand. And then what about you?" She turned her gaze to the youngest at the end of the table. Without looking up to meet her eyes he replied "I decline your invitation. While Sebastian was busy with his contract I had to find something to and.." his cheeks reddened slightly "I found someone. I will be going back to live with them." Sitri gasped, "I''m so happy for you! You deserve it, who is the lucky demon?" He stayed silent. "They''re not a demon..?" Sitri asked. He shook his head. First Sebastian and now him? Both with humans? They where demons!! Well.. in part. But then Sitri reconsidered it, while she thought humans where lesser creatures her brother was half human and no lesser than her. Maybe she needed a new way of thinking. "Well congratulations then Brother. I hope you''re happy.." "Thank you" he smiled. "Life has really started now that fathers not looming over us now. I can finally relax and enjoy my life. You should too sister. You''re Queen now. You have the castle to yourself and you can do anything you want." "Hmmm, yes" She agreed dryly. "I suppose that''s true." The rest of the banquet seemed to pass by quickly and before she knew it both of her brothers where at the front gates saying goodbye. "We''ll visit!" They promised and then they where gone leaving her alone in her castle of guards. Sitri didn''t blame them for rushing to leave. The castle was a dark place for them with few happy memories. She went slowly back inside. What comes after for her? She went to the throne room and sprawled across her throne, her legs on the arm of the chair. She got to thinking about how both her brothers seemed to be happier now and she felt wistful, almost jealous of them. Maybe this contract thing... no that was silly. Weeks passed and then months as she occupied the castle and preformed her duties but she soon was bored out of her mind. Demons where petty creatures and many of her days where spent settling small squabbles and ensuring demons didnt get out of hand. She hated her post and made up her mind. She was going to leave her fathers advisor in charge and going to visit earth and the humans. Maybe she''d go on a rampage, maybe she''d seduce a man and take his soul. Anything besides the monotony here. Sitri remembered her brother. "a humans life passes by in in a blink anyways." and she began thinking about the contract. It was lonely in the castle without her brothers and friends where short in supply for the Queen of Hell, especially after having slaughtered the last ones in command of her father. Maybe she would take one.. She mentally slapped herself. No. She was the Queen of Hell what was she doing? Well.. she thought, she could still have her fun while in a contact.. what harm could come of it? As her brother said it was something to do and she''d get to escape her royal duties for a short while. She could after all ensure the contract was extra short. She grinned devilishly, she made up her mind and heaven help the poor soul that summoned her. She opened her mind to anyone trying to summon a demon, it was surprisingly more common than one would think and within less than an hour she felt a tug on the fabric between Hell and earth indicating someone trying to form a contract. Before the demon the human was attempting to summon could appear, she materialized in the humans circle instead, taking thier place in the forming contract. "Well hello" She grins, her canine teeth sharp against her lips regarding the young man in front of her "I am the Queen of Hell~ How may I help you... my lord?" Hell Comes to Earth The young man dropped his summoning book and startled backwards from the demoness, pushing his sandy brown hair out of his eyes as if that was going to help him see better. Momentarily he thought she was a raven haired goddess, stunned by her otherworldly beauty before he saw her horns and black wings. His next thought then was he was dreaming, was this actually a demon? To be frankly honest he had found the summoning book at a gag shop and he was trying it only out of boredom, never imagining a demon would actually show up. Especially one that looked like her, he was more expecting an ugly motley creature that the human bible or stories would depict if it did work. "The Queen of Hell?" He repeated dumbly, still in shock. "I thought this spell was for a lesser demon named Alastor or something.. why would the Queen of Hell be here? Also I thought the king of Hell was Lucifer..?" "Hmmm.. they did say humans where slow." She grinned cheekily at him, "Hell got boring and so here I am, aren''t you lucky? As for Lucifer.." she wrinkled her nose in distaste, "you would be correct, he WAS the king. However times change and the crown fell to yours truely. Now, you have already summoned me and the circle is complete, so I''m assuming you know a little of how this works. What is your deepest desire you would trade for your soul?" He had many other questions for her being as two seconds ago he barely believed in demons, he was so deeply curious. He thought heavily, after all he was giving his soul up for this wish so it had better be worth it. He had nothing else to live for and he didn''t want her to leave already, he had many questions for an actual demon. By creating the contract maybe he would also have the opportunity to lean about demons. "I don''t know." He stated in the end, "I guess I''m like everyone else, I just want a life that matters. Where I''m not lonely, and maybe people even respect me." Sitri smirked, "Okay, fame and riches?" She raised her hand to write the contract. "No!" He almost shouted. "You can just keep me company until the contract is complete. I don''t want to be famous, it''s just as lonely to have hoards of fake friends. And I don''t care about riches as long as I''m comfortable" Sitri scoffed, "I am not a pet for company. I will not just follow you around, how will the contract end with such unclear terms?" "You can be my bodyguard" he offered. "I''m sorry?" Sitri was already regretting coming to earth, humans where so... strange. "I have the terms for the contract then. And when I''m happy, finally truely happy then the contract will end. You will serve me as a bodyguard or whatever else I might need until then." She considered these terms. While she was already regretting this decision as well as her rash decision to be servee(nt) istead of the served. But it shouldn''t be too hard to make some human happy right? Although the fact that he didn''t want fame and riches concerned her, in the end most humans where simple. Maybe all she needed was to find him a nice human woman. Maybe he wanted to be the president, she would find out and she would make him happy. And then she would take his soul. It almost made it more delicious to take it on the brink of what could have been more. "Alright fine, I will serve you until you reach your state of happiness at which point the contract will be complete and I will collect your soul. State your full name and consent please." He hesitated, was he really about to sell his soul for a second of happiness? But then again he never had much happiness to begin with so at least he''d die happy he reckoned. "My name is Thomas Ulysses Mueller and I agree to these terms" Sitri grinned and the contract appeared again, simmering in the air before them, a single parchment paper. She wrote the terms and had him cut his hand, with his blood he signed the contract and she sealed it with her own. The contract simmered a bright violet and disappeared in a shower of sparks. Her family''s seal appeared on her upper chest right below her collar bone like a glowing purple tatoo, a matching one appeared on his ankle. Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon. His soul shone brightly for a moment, the rights transfering to her. "It is done Thomas Ulysses Mueller" she smiled brightly but inside she was almost drooling with anticipation over his soul, the contract seemed to make souls more powerful and all the tastier to consume. When the contract disappeared so did her wings and horns, giving her a compleye human appearance. After all, she could not go out in the streets with the human looking like a demon. With her own powers she was only allowed in the streets for a short while before her magic would fail to conceal what she was. Although sometimes she did enjoy the fear that stemmed from that as well. Once the contract was complete, and most importantly this humans soul was in her hands did she actually take a look around the place. It was a small two bedroom house with scarce decorations or even furniture. She shook her head, it was boring and drab. Even hell had better decorating taste. Perhaps she could convince him of an update later on~ She then took a good look at the human she was about to serve. As humans go he was unremarkable although with his square jawline and husky shoulders, some would consider him a catch. His eyes where an icy blue under a shag of his brown hair. She supposed she could consider him cute enough for a human, if he only cut his hair.. "So where shall I stay?" Sitri inquired, following him around his small humble abode. "In the guestbedroom" he motioned in the direction of the door vaguely, "Its the only other room, I suppose you can sleep there of you clear the clutter." "Wouldn''t it be better if I slept with you?" Sitri''s lips parted slyly "Afterall, I am your bodyguard now. I wouldn''t want harm befall you in the night." "I think I''ll manage on my own" Thomas remarked dryly, closing his door before leaning against it. Having a moment alone on the other side of the door, he slid to the ground, mentally exhausted. He literally was in hell on earth. He finally has a beautiful woman in his house but she was the Queen of hell and a demon? Never in a million years would have have pictured himself here. He barely believed in God. He considered his contract. His life would end as soon as he was truely happy. He took comfort in this fact as he had always thought his life would end some other way. At least he would be happy. And he wouldn''t be alone. He didn''t stop to think about how good of company a demon would keep but his life was never so amazing as to he''d want to hold on to it, at least this was a rare adventure most never experience. Maybe he could even write about it and die a well known successful author. Would that be meaningful? Meanwhile in the the other room Sitri surveyed the room he dictated her. It had papers strewn all over it, and paper stacked all along side the wall. She picked up a sheet, it looked to be the pages of a book. Or multiple books that never seemed to leave this room. So he was a writer. She snapped her fingers and her clothes transformed into thin black lace nightgown. It would be fun tease him a little, after all inviting a demon into his house, what else could he expect of her? She knocked on his door, he opened it and almost slammed it shut when he saw what she was wearing. Or rather more what she wasn''t as it didn''t cover much of her skin. Speaking through a crack in the door he called "yes?" Sitri almost giggled inside when she saw him slam the door although it was disappointing not to see his face or see any further reaction. "What do you want me to do with all those papers? Publish them? Make you famous?" "No! I said I didnt want that. If I''m to be famous I want it to be because of my work not because a demon made people like it. None of those stories are good enough. I just need my one good book." "Whatever" Sitri rolled her eyes "I can burn them?" She offered. "Just put them in the garage please. He pointed at the door, its through there. He then shut his door. Maybe after such an interesting days he should just fall asleep and reflect on it the next day as well as figure out where to go from there. He closed his eyes but soon punched his pillow frustrated. Why couldn''t he get the image of her in front of his room in that nightgown out of his head.. God he needed to find a girlfriend. Sitri went back to her room and quickly cleared it with a wave of her hand and the papers where transferred to the garage. She then lay down on the small bed. She would wait until tomorrow for him to recharge and then maybe something new would start, even if she didn''t know what. Anything was better than being in Hell. She closed her eyes. For once she was almost excited for tomorrow. Adjusting The next morning when she awoke to the bare white walls of the small room, she thought she was back with her father, imprisoned. Jumping up growling, she raised a flaming fist about to burn the walls down before she remembered her perhaps rash decision and who''s tiny house she was in. "Ahem. Goodmorning" Thomas stood in the doorway, the door open. His hair was somehow standing straight up with the exception of some side pieces which stuck out at the sides making it obvious he just woke up. "Please don''t burn down my home, it''s small but it''s all I have. I heard you yell, is everything okay?" "Such a tiny room" Sitri scoffed, "felt like I was in a coffin." She threw her arms out angrily, but extinguished the fire. Her father had often punished her by locking her in coffins or small basements alone for months if she messed up. Another reason she hated bare walls and small places. His eyebrow raised. The Queen of Hell, afraid if small enclosed places? He made a mental note of it and coughed. "Well anyways, if you''d like to get changed..." She still had not changed from the night before and he was doing his best keeping his eyes modestly averted. "I have cereal and milk in the kitchen. I don''t have much else." "While I change you might want to brush your hair." Sitri smirked at his bedhead, "Or perhaps just cut it all off. That mop is not cute honey." He ran his hand over his hair, trying to get it flatten a bit, his face flushed. "I just haven''t had the time" He mumbled. "I''ll get a haircut after work." Sitri waved her hand, "Don''t worry about it. I''ll cut it." Thomas looked at her skeptically. "I''ll pass but thank you." "I used to cut my both my brothers hair. Just trust me.'' "You have brothers? And you had said Lucifer is your dad right?" His blue eyes widened in curiosity. Sitri laughed, amused, "Two half brothers yes. Lucider was our father but we overthrew him and as the eldest.." She made a cursory half bow "I took the throne. Turns out ruling a bunch of demons is not all that fun. So I''m here. End of story time. Where are your scissors?" Acknowledging she didn''t want anymore questions, he answered simply, "They''re in the kitchen. You know I never actually agreed right?" "Trust me, you''ll thank me. Get them and your hairbrush and maybe something on the floor if you don''t want hair everywhere. I better get changed" She winked at him and closed the door. He thought he was the one that was supposed to be ordering her around but he found himself getting the things she asked and putting newspaper on the floor. In her room she snapped her fingers, she was now dressed in tight black leather pants and a low cut black tank top. Complete with a white apron for the hair. Ready, she walked out. As she came in, he glanced at her outfit. It was a bit better, although he already noticed her slightly different prefence of wardrobe. The apron was cute though, almost gave her a softer tone. He started at the thought, no he could not be calling this demon cute. "Hairbrush" She demanded. He gave it to her almost meekly. She took it and began to brush his hair. She ran her fingers through his hair as she brushed, deftly untangling his hair and making it more manageable. He almost moaned, enjoying the massaging of her fingers in his hair. He was surprised at how hungry he was for human touch. At which point he froze. She wasn''t human. He would have to remember that.Reading on Amazon or a pirate site? This novel is from Royal Road. Support the author by reading it there. Hair brushed, she began taking chunks of hair in her hand and hacking off massive pieces. He gulped nervously, was it going to be some inane hack job? He really was letting a demon give him a haircut. She cut it off a few inches from his head and went around fixing the edges, and giving him a set of bangs. She missed his hair lightly giving him an airy look. "There." She grinned at her work "Now you''re almost cute." He looked at her doubtfully but went to his room look in the mirror, taking his time as he was unsure if what he''d see. And he had work in an hour. He almost didn''t recognize himself. He tilted his head both ways, the cut really brought out his cheekbones minus the stubble. The shorter cut was going to be a lot easier to groom he had to admit, and it looked pretty good. He supposed he''d have to thank her before he went to work. Maybe he should trim up his facial hair too. After he properly groomed himself, he got dressed for work, a grey suit with a blue tie to match his eyes. He glanced in the mirror as he passed. He almost whistled at himself, damn he looked good he thought to himself. He hadn''t bothered taking care of himself in quite a while and he forgot how much of a difference it made. He stepped outside and Sitri was waiting for him in the kitchen. Still in her white apron, in her hand she had a big plate a pancakes. "Breakfast is ready." She actually didn''t mind cooking as she often cooked for her brothers; the cooks of hell often having different opinions on what "good food was", often demon animal guts; and her brother now did it for his human. So she decided it would be one of her tasks on her road to completing the contract. Maybe if he didn''t have to cook and he was eating better food, he''d be happier and he''d have more time to seek whatever his "ultimate happiness". His eyebrow raised. First a haircut and now he was being served pancakes homemade by the Queen of Hell? He didn''t know if he''d ever adjust to this. "I didn''t even know I had pancake mix." He said surprised. "Pancakes are pretty basic to make with a few simple ingredients you luckily had. We should probably buy some later." She reached into her pocket and brought out a handful of gems and gold jewelry. "How much will this fetch?" She asked, looking at him expectantly. "Um.. well that''s very expensive.. yeah" He swallowed. He''d never been so close to so much but we actually have a different way of paying. You''d have to sell that to get our currency." He pulled a few bills from his pocket "This is all I have right now, about fifty dollars. See this is a twenty. This ones a ten, and two fives." Sitri took one of the bills and raised it in the air starting at it as if it was a dead rat. "What the hell is this? Paper? How is this worth anything?" She stared at him with disbelievment. "Can we make more?" "Well it''s more what people THINK it''s worth. It used to be backed by actual gold and silver but now it''s just a mess. Everything is. And no, that would be illegal!" "Hm, yes well" She replied dryly throwing the bill back towards him "Humans do have a good way or ruining things. You will teach me how to exchange my gems for... pieces of dirty used paper since it''s so.." She rolled her eyes, "illegal" to make new paper. Humans. Bah." "Well it''s special paper, let''s just go with that" He sighed. "We can do that after work, meanwhile you can.." He trailed off. He never even thought about what he''d do with the demon when he was at work. Was she okay at home by herself? He didn''t want to come home to the house burned down but then how would she be helping him fulfill the contract if she did that? "I''ll come with you of course" She interrupted his thoughts. "I didn''t leave Hell to sit around a coffin." She gestured at his bare walls and her eye twinkled mischievously "And aren''t I supposed to protect you as a bodyguard? How can I do that from home?" "Well you can''t go dressed like that.. there are rules of conduct." He rubbed his arm tensely. "Oh right. I apologize" She snapped her fingers and she now had on a black ladies suit jacket over her low top. She tied her hair up in a few deft moves into a sleek black ponytail. "Do I look like a business woman now?" She made a small flourish with her hands before laughing. "No matter, I can just charm them all anyways." "Uhhh.. yes. No, you look exactly like a business woman. You hardly have to charm them at all.." He chuckled awkwardly. If a business woman looked like she was a supermodel about to peel away on a motorbike. He pinched the palm of his hand, there he was again thinking of her as beautiful. She was a demon, nothing would ever be possible and it was silly to think otherwise. "Great" She smiled at him, her eyes sparkling. "Well, shall we get going then?" "I guess so.. only because you seem so excited" He said begrudgingly, holding open the door for her "Off to work we go."
