    After a long time I was thinking if this is some kind or purgatory and if I am in one, why won''t they hurry up!

    For the first time since coming here, I felt really tired. My eyes became so heavy, that I couldn''t even open them.


    Suddenly, a warm sensation could be felt all around my body. All I could think of was how nice and pleasant it was. There was only one problem...

    It was maybe few days since then, but I couldn''t even stretch.


    I tried to wiggle or turn myself around but all my efforts failed. Yes, I couldn''t even wiggle myself like a worm. Just where in the hell am I!?

    Right when I heard it for the second time, something started shining on me. It was probably sunlight. Even though I couldn''t open my eyes, I could feel it. When I was trying to wiggle my way out, it was then: It felt like something breaking under me, that whas the time when I fell out.


    ''Haaah!'' I screamed as I hit something hard. But all that could be heard was sound of some kind of toy.


    "Gyaa~!"


    Yup, that toy sound was made by me...


    After hitting something, the fresh air could be felt on my body. I slowly opened my eyes and what I saw almost gave me a heart attack!


    Dark silver lizard was standing in front of me! No, it wasn''t a simple lizard... Only one word came to my mind, Dragon!


    At first I got startled, but when it gazed at me, I felt warm sensation inside my body. It felt just like when mother was watching her child.


    My memory was still fuzzy, I could recall some of my memories of my old ''self'' just like huge buildings growing into clouds, but no names, faces of people or where I lived. If I l couldn''t recall them, then just who am I?


    As I was wondering about these kind of things, the dragon moved closer to me. And then, it spoke!


    "My child! My beloved daughter!"


    From the atmosphere, I could tell ''it'' was my parent. I could feel its positive energy surging from it towards me. She cried in happiness with some unknown language I didn''t even heard before, yet I could understand it.


    "Gya gya!" I tried to say something, but all that escaped my mouth were adorable toy noises.


    "Don''t try too hard to speak my daughter Tamariesha, you were just born."


    Tamariesha? Is that my name? I could feel that the dragon thinks of me as its daughter... But wait, no no no, that can''t be!


    I tried to rub my eyes so I could better see but as I tried, small hands covered in darkish silver scales were in my view... A-am I a monster!?


    Seeing me panic, the dragon tought I was trying to walk towards her so it started bending its neck towards me to help me. But I didn''t wanted to stand, I wanted to run away!


    "You were born just an hour ago and now you want to move? As expected of Silverscaled child!"


    From its voice, you could feel gentle aura of parent trying to encourage its child.


    Well, I still wanted to run away...

 The Noble Dragon

    ''Tamariesha Silverscale'' Yup! That''s my name.


    First things first, it''s been a week since I was born.


    The silver dragon in front of me is my mother. She doesn''t look like your typical mother. You can''t see it in her dragon form, but she is a real beauty.


    It happened 2 days ago: After waking up, I couldn''t seen my mother anywhere. When I tried to search for her, I found a silver haired woman at the cave entrance. At first, I got startled. What is she doing there! Why would anyone come to the dragon''s den? What if the silver dragon comes back!? What would happen to her!?


    After a while those thoughts were silenced when she saw me. The beauty transformed into same silver dragon I''ve seen before, my mother.


    "Oh! You are already up? You should sleep a bit more." she came closer to me in her dragon form while gently smiling. It took her few minutes to figure out why I was staring at her. I realized that only few dragons can have their human form. One of them is my mother and me.


    While being idle, she told me a lot of stories. About 3 dragon gods: Golden, Darkness and Light...those were their names.     She even bragged about how our Silverscale bloodline is the strongest bloodline of Darkness! If this was some kind of novel, she would look like the villainess. Her villainess face is scary.


    Next day when she talked about my egg, she mentioned my father. I''m not sure if she did it on purpose or not but she got angry.


    "How is he not coming to see you!"


    If you saw her angry dragon form, you would probably ran away thinking that she is some kind of evil dragon.


    I''m not sure how beautiful her dragon form in terms of dragons is, but in her human form she is a real beauty.


    With hair of same color as her scales, ideal curves and face that even models would envy, she would get a lot of attention. I just hope that when I grow up, I would look like her.


    She talked a lot. But seriously, it went on and on for hours each day...


    I found out several things: name of my mother is Aliciance Silverscale. The cave where we are right now is on the Mountain of Sacred Dragons. It''s the only place where eggs of noble bloodlines can hatch.


    I''m the first noble bloodline egg that hatched after 500 years. That was the real reason for her excitement when I was born. I guess I won''t have any playmates. It made me a little sad.


    It should take around 3 more weeks until I will be able to fly and so we can move from the cave towards our home. All I need to do is wait...

 My old memories

    After 3 weeks of listening to my mother, I started to gasp the common language between dragons.


    "A~ooo!"


    This was my daily training of my voice. All I could say right now were just simple words. My mother was always watching me in her human form, hidden from view and all I could hear are low voice giggles.


    After my practice, she would always come to me with her gentle smile on her face before transforming into her dragon form.


    Despite being in cave, I''m sitting on high quality straw, the food is always fresh and she takes care of me most of the time. Mother, just when do you always get the time to go out?


    Later at night, I always think about home that she often speaks of. I mean, we are nobles right? Since I don''t know how dragon nobles live, I have no idea how would it look like.

    Just like my mother in her human form, I have two slim arms without scales. Sometimes I''m walking towards big building, sitting in room with a lot of humans while listening to one human while he writes on blackboard with a white stick, talking with them or even eating strange food with them.


    My memory of these dreams are slowly fading. I''m a dragon after all. I shouldn''t have dreams about me being human. My first reaction to my body, the memories I had while still in an egg, that shouldn''t happen. Then why did it happen!?


    "Arrrr!" while I was thinking about it, this escaped my mouth.


    "What''s wrong Tamariesha?" my mother who was always next to me asked and started checking if something is wrong with me. This was going on while she was still in her dragon form.


    Well, all I did was made my mother worried so she started looking at me more thoroughly.


    ''Mom you are way too close!'' is what I wanted to scream, but I couldn''t say it well since I didn''t know how. All that escaped my mouth was "uu~~o~e".


    Her behavior continued for 3 whole days...

 From the limitless skies

    It''s been a whole month since I was born.


    Today, is the day we would leave the cave. I will kinda miss it. I tried to ask my mother if we could play here in the future, but I still couldn''t speak clearly. Well, I guess I will be sneaking here a lot.


    For the first time since I was born, I walked out of the cave. I could feel my wings itching. When I tried to rub them, my mother pushed outside the cave from behind.


    "Don''t worry, they are just exited, it''s in your blood. " she replied with a smile.


    Since I was pre-occupied with my wings, I haven''t paid much attention to my surroundings. I almost fell of the edge. Seriously...how distracted I can get? I wonder if being distracted is in my dragon nature...wait, I should focus!


    After ending this almost endless train of thoughts, I looked around with my baby dragon body.

    What came into my view was incredible. The view from the ridge was full of green trees, small mountain river full of little fishes and clear blue sky. My view was interrupted by my mother.

    Well...this was before she gave me a little push.


    ''I''m going to die!!!!'' I screamed in my mind. But before I became a dragon pancake, my wings swung all the way to their fullest and started catching gusts of wind. I guess this is one of the instincts of dragon? I wish I knew it earlier mother!


    As I flew higher and higher and started to get the hang of it, the whole mountain came into full view.


    On its the west I could see sea of trees with small animals walking between them.


    On the north there was a small village of monsters with green skin that resembled goblins from the novels. With their small bodies they looked like ants from my point of view.


    Contradictory to west, the east was a huge ocean full of big monsters that reminded me whales with horns. As I tried to turn 360 degrees I almost lost my balance and almost fell. I really need more practice.


    Finally on south side from which the cave is, I could see the small river I saw first flowing towards a small lake. A small dot that grew bigger and bigger started flying towards me.


    "Tamariesha!!" as you can guess, it was my mother.

 The Dragon island

    "Tamariesha!!" my mother screamed in excitement while almost colliding with me.


    I do love her, but this is really embarrasing! Before I knew it, I was blushing a little.


    Closing my eyes, I nearly forgot that we were in the air.


    ''It''s really peaceful out here...well, with the exception of my mother...'' smelling the fresh air, hearing the peaceful wind blowing, all I wanted to do is explore this place.


    Slowly opening my eyes, I saw my mother looking at me with her gentle expression.


    "I knew you would love it, it''s in our blood after all." she said.


    This is the day, when my dragon-self truly started to live. My thoughts were cut short, again...


    "We should get going, we don''t want to be late." mother empatized.


    Late? As I started to ponder about it, she flew towards the east where only the vast ocean was located. I felt like we are going on a school field trip. My mother would''ve been the teacher and I the curious child.


    As I looked at the glittering surface of the ocean, here and there I could see small monsters being chased by bigger ones. Even a giant octopus! In the corner of my eye I even saw humanoid creatures swimming with seal like monsters. They were really cute!

    In the far distance, I could see really small silhouettes flying trough the sky...As we flew closer and closer, they became bigger and bigger. At last, I could see that they are dragons. Big ones at that. They saw us approaching and turned towards us.


    "Don''t worry, they are friends" mother slowed her flight to match mine and we flew next to each other towards the two dragons. The bigger one had shiny red scales, while the other one had them light blue.


    A little startled with my mother appearance as she came into their full view, the two dragons approached us while one of them muttered ''The silver scales, that can only be her'' in low voice. I guess my mother is famous dragon noble?


    "Lady Aliciance!" the red dragon said loudly.


    "Where have you been for the past 50 years! Your father was sick worried!" he betrayed my expectations.


    "I''m already 673 and he''s still trying to restain me on this island?" she snorted.


    "But you are the heir! You can''t just leave!" the red dragon was defending my grandfather. My mother is kind of tomboy I guess...


    "Anyway, we should go and see your grandfather" my mother said to me. But why are you having that villainess smile again?


    "G-grandfather? B-but that would mean..." finally noticing my pressence, both of the dragons looked at each other with their eyes wide open.


    "Yes, this is my daughter Tamariesha" my mother confirmed it. All I could say was "Ai~!".


    "Go tell to the head of the Silverscale family that there''s an urgent matter!" said the red dragon towards his colleague.


    "Lady Aliciance and Lady Tamariesha, can I ask you to follow me?" as he said with a forced smile. Behind him, something huge appeared.


    What came into my view was a beautiful island.

 Family...reunion?

    As we flew towards the island, we landed in the middle of a white temple.


    Is it temple? I can''t really tell...At least from from my point of view, it''s a huge one. I''m still growing and baby dragons are really small, okay!


    We started walking towards ancient styled double doors, when from out of nowhere, the doors were flung open. Behind them a golden scaled dragon, same height as my mother ran towards us.


    "Aliciaaa!!!!" the dragon started shouting my mother name.


    "Ephi!" noticing her, my mother called out to her.


    "You are cruel! Leaving without telling anything to your best friend!" everyone could see tears of hapiness flowing from her eyes as she ran towards us. But then, she came to a halt. Reason for that kind of reaction? Well, she saw me hiding behind my mother.


    Seeing this, my mother broke her stare, "A lot of things happened after I left Ephi...A LOT" saying while glancing towards me with a gentle smile.     It happened right at that moment, we heard a terrifying roar of a dragon. The roar shook the surroundings and drops of sweat started forming on my mother scales.


    "Ephi, if I die here, take care of Ta-" cutting her short, an elderly voice resounded in the area.


    "A-li-ci-a!! Where have you been young lady!" landing behind us, there was a big body of a dragon. As the dust cleared from the area, it revealed its silver scales.


    "F-father? Wh-why are you here!?" my mother still a bit stiff, slowly turned towards the silver dragon.

    ''Anthonias Silverscale'' the current head of the Silverscale family, acting leader of the Dragon island and lastly, my father.


    Even before I was born, he was considered one of the strongest dragons alive. I was often told that his real strength could be seen only during the times of war, like in the great war 1300 years ago. Information about this war could be found in almost every history book on the main continent.

After that training when I asked him why would he need to do that, he just answered with a simple smile and "Just in case I don''t like him".


    Back then, I just prayed that my future husband won''t cheat on me. Now all I can hope for is that he won''t find Tamariesha''s father. His life would depends on it.


    While growing up, I kind of inherited his talents for combat. Because of it, I often rushed ahead of everyone and it earned me the nickname Silver tomboy lady. It''s kinda embarrasing that they keep calling me that even now. I''m not young anymore!


    Of course, there were times when I''ve seen him with his dark smile that even the demons feared. It was seen when he got really angry.

    "Grandchild? But that means...no" he got really surprised, but continued "Who was the one that stole my little Alicia from me!" And now I get it why she was so nervous.


    "Father! I''m not little anymore!" my mother exclaimed while blushing. She is beautiful even while blushing in her dragon form.


    "Ah sorry, for me you are still little. We should return home and when we get there, you will tell me his name and location okay?" he said with a dark smile. I even felt dark energy oozing from his body. I''m getting worried about my biological father that I haven''t seen yet.


    "Father!" she shouted.

    "Because I am your child!" my mother got even more flustrated than before.


    Walking towards me, the silver dragon bend his neck and said "I''m your grandfather Anthonias, but call me grandpa Anthy"

    "Okay, but it''s only because of Tamariesha" mother turned towards the direction that my grandfather came from and spread her wings. I followed suit and we left the ''white temple''.


    After only 20 minutes of flying, we spotted a giant mansion. I looked at my mother as she started descending towards it. When we landed, she gently smiled and said "We are home"

 My new life

    The mansion was huge. As we started walking, I was again remined how small I am. ''I want to grow up! *sniff*''


    The whole outer layer of the mansion was of the same color as the temple looking building that we saw when we arrived. It resemble white marble.


    What first caught my attention was giant fountain statue in the middle of the road. It was in the image of young dragon that is ready to roar. I tried to imitate the pose, but all I could hear were chuckles from my mother. This is embarrasing!


    "That''s your grandpa when he was young" still smiling she explained the statue. She continued "Long time ago, he was a war hero-"


    "What do you mean ''was''? I''m still a hero! " interrupting her, grandpa took the same pose as the statue.


    "Don''t yell in front of Tamariesha or I will tell mother about your ''hero'' behavior from earlier!" my mother said.


    "I''m all quiet" her statement had more effect than my cuteness. After their exchange, we walked towards the big doubledoor and entered the mansion.

    At that moment, light brown dragon started running towards us. Despite running, you could sense aura of divinity around the dragon. The exact opposite of dark aura that grampa showed in ''white temple''.


    "Alicia!! My little Alicia! Where have you been? Have you been eating enough? Did this old geezer did something that you had to leave for 50 years?" she asked several qiestions in a row.


    "M-mother!" embarrassed, mother exclaimed.


    "And who is this little cutie behind you?" with a smile, the dragon asked my mother.


    "She is Tamariesha. Your grandchild..." walking to the side, mother revealed me to her full view.


    "Gr-grandchild? I have a grandchild!? " clearly happy, she walked closer towards me.


    "Dear! You hear? We have a grandchild!" looking at grandpa, she said happily. "That''s the first noble baby for 500 years! And it''s our little Alicia''s child"


    "I know Marie, calm down a little or she will be scared of you" grandpa pointed out.


    "I''m not that scary as you! Right sweetie?" she asked while turning her head towards me. I guess she might be lively, but not that scary.


    "Ai~!" I had to use my cuteness for the answer.


    "See dear? She said it herself!" still full of smiles, she took my mother''s and my hand.


    "Like I care!" said grampa. Is he sulking?


    Grandmother continued with "Anyway, we should move to living room, standing here in the hallway is no good" as she started pulling mother and me towards one of the big rooms. I take it that I have two energetic grandparents? I should get used to it and enjoy my new life.


    "Tamariesha, from now you are part of our family!" while saying that with a smile, we entered the living room.


    My new life on the Dragon island starts from today! I just hope it will be peaceful.

    When it comes to magic, my grandma is one of the 10 great elders. She excels in magic. Even if he tried, grandpa with just his wind magic can''t win against her. Good job grandma!


    As for me, I have the same wind magic aptitude as my mother and grandpa, and life magic aptitude as my grandma. As for what life magic is? It''s a rare type of magic.

    Arriving at Ephiliana''s place, both of us landed at the courtyard. Looking for any signs Ephi, we moved towards the main building. The mansion was of appropriate size for a daughter of noble dragon family. She is Goldenscale after all.


    As we were about to knock, the door opened and the energetic golden dragon bursted out them.

    Other races can have their aptitudes either fixed or power of their aptitudes is weak.

    Best example for this are elfs. With their slender bodies, weak muscles and strong aptitude for wind magic, they are perfect for supporting others. If they were to fight in close combat, they would probably lose their lifes.


    Other minor races can even use rare aptitudes. Good example are fairies. But despite having life magic, their race is weak and can be easily killed.


    Most of them are living in hidden villages that can be only found by their own race. I really wanted to see one... *sniff*


    Then there are races like humans, that can''t bring up the full power of their aptitude, so they are forced to specialize in combat with weapons and lesser magic.


    They fight using swords and arrows while using weak magic.


    They are also the reason why I must train sword skills in human form! Ahhh!


    I may learn a few things from this punishment.

    It took me a whole day to get the festival expenses from grandpa. I even had to promise him a souvenir.

    Next morning, we continued our travel.

    I would have been the case if those stupid bandits didn''t show up. Since we are disguised as humans, it took us a while to beat them to pulp. After that, with a satisfied smile on her human face, mother asked someone to fetch the guards.

    Waking up early, all of us were in good mood.


    We were waiting for boss to show up. We might even rob a merchant or two. Fresh suplies, new alcohol, who wouldn''t get exited.


    Our hideout was located on the outskirts of Mountain of Sacred Dragons. Well, it''s just a old mountain name. Nobody actually saw a dragon there in past hundred of years, so it should be safe.


    Since weak monsters won''t go near it, it''s a perfect place for us bandits.


    As we were preparing our weapons, boss walked in and started speaking.


    "Today, we are going to a place between the mountain and city of Mira." he stated.

    Our boss had many connections. Most of the information was from local thugs while some of it was even from nobles. Thanks to that, we always got a tip about less protected transports ahead of time.

    On the second day of the festival, mother called me to accompany her to meet someone. I had no idea, who we will meet.


    After omelet breakfast, we changed the magic in our dresses for them to look more formal. It wasn''t complicated magic for us dragons, but it required a lot of mana and focus.

    Mother just nodded and sat on the sofa as I followed suit. I wanted to ask something, but as I was about to, the door opened. What came into view was a blonde haired man in his late thirties beeming with smile.


    "Alicia! Long time no see!" he rushed towards my mother. She probably found it annoying, so she answered "Not for me"


    He stopped for a while before saying


    "Cold as ever"


    He sat on the opposite sofa and while looking at me, he asked


    "And who is this little cutie?" while leaking with curiousity.


    "My daughter, who else would it be?" she was annoyed.


    "Don''t be so cold, we were in the same party...and who is the father, Fred or Jonas?" he asked. He was looking at mother with look of a dear friend.


    "She''s obviously Fred''s daughter. Do you think I would have a child with that creepy Jonas?" she emitted a small amount of killing intent.


    "I don''t know what dragons are into..." he smiled at her. As he said that, mother started to emit even more killing intent than before.

    "Ah, once I got bored and went to hunt it down" full of pride, he said so.


    "That''s impressive for that shrimp half-elf I know" she quietly laughed as her head turned to our direction.

    All I could see, was how good their relationship was. They were friends, that hunted and had fun together.

    The king just sighed and with a heavy voice said "Okay, Ray. You can stay if you want"


    "Huh?" not knowing what''s going on, the prince just looked at me and my mother again. An awkward silance descended on the room.


    "Uhhh...mother?Weren''t we here for something?" with a quiet voice, I broke the silence.


    "Ah! right right...Elast, just tell us the detail already" mother remembered our original objective for the visit.


    "But I wanted to talk to your daughter a bit more!" he sat down back on the sofa.


    "You can after we complete the quest" she came back to the sofa and sat next to me.


    "Okay, but be sure to bring the mana crystal of the beast" he narrowed his eyes while looking at mother.

    "Ah, the details..." he took out the map of the whole region and pointed at one place located not too far from capital. He started to explain the details of quest while prince was constantly staring at me.

    While following suit, we were walked towards the door.

 Time for family hunt

    It''s morning of third and last day of the festival and we were on our way out of the city.


    Yesterday, after leaving the king, we went to the Hunter''s Guild for my ID card as well as accepting the king''s quest.


    When we entered the Guild, a huge commotion broke out because of me. Seeing ''Silver Death'' holding hands with a 10 year old girl while smiling was probably too much for some to handle.


    Mother also asked about rank tests, but she was dismissed by guild master, that came to quiet the commotion. He told us to come after the quest.

    As we are both dragons, we don''t need weapons or armor unless we fight in human form, but for the sake of appearances, we had to buy some.


    Before the sunset, we arrived at the inn. After having meal and a bath, we went to our room to prepare.

    "Don''t be mom, I also wanted to try fighting something other than grandpa" waving my hand to gesture it''s okay, I said so.

She looked in her twenties but because her ears were a bit pointy, I think she was half-elf. Since it''s rude to ask girl for her age, I had to give up on asking.


    The jorney ended up safely as we arrived at the village before it became dark. After we arrived, mother showed her negotiating skills while managing to reserve a big room in one of the village houses. She does have a lot surprising skills.

    We haven''t waited for the sunrise before departing towards the cave in forest nearby.


    The scenery was full of greenery and small monsters could be heard all around us. It''s a lot smaller than forest on our island but as far as I can tell, there are more monsters.


    A small clearing spread inside the forest and right in the middle, there was a huge hole that was probably the entrance to the cave.


    "It''s stinky here" I commented right as we entered the cave.


    "Really? There are even worse smells out there" she tilted her head.

    Suddenly a chill ran through the cave. As I felt it comming, I transformed into my dragon form.


    Sensing it too, mother also transformed into her dragon form while turning her head towards the incoming monster.

 The Battle

    What came out was big dark indigo snake with sharp golden eyes.


    "Don''t get dazled, it''s Grote Mountain Snake so prepare to fight" mother warned me before she jumped towards it.


    *ssssss*


    Since we were restraining our actual auras, it probably sensed us in our human form and came to catch us as prey. My mother had something else in mind as she swung her dragon arm towards it, tearing its flesh in one clean move.


    It struggled for few seconds, but against my mother, it was completely useless. I didn''t get a chance to help her before it was already over.


    "Ahh, let''s go down the cave sweetie~" after killing the snake mother said so. I''m not sure how is she able to switch from her murderous to her usual atmosphere, but for safety reasons I won''t ask. All I could do is slightly nod and follow her.


    While walking inside the cave, more and more Grote Mountain Snakes appeared. Finally, it was my time to shine!

    I roared as I started attacking them but it came out slightly immature. Aside from the snake noises I also heard my mother''s giggle.

    Snakes froze in fear. From the direction of the roar was only my mother. She ran while doing a small massacre on those frozen snakes. Just as she finished the last one, she turned her head towards me and ran with her open arms.


    "Tama are you alright!?" she sobbed as she started hugging me. The snakes couldn''t really hurt me but she''s overprotective as ever...


    She was the same even on the island. If it wasn''t my grandpa who trained me, that dragon probably wouldn''t be alive by now since only few dragons can withstand her attacks.


    After few more minutes of hugging in our dragon forms, we continued our exploration. Mother''s roar was terrifying... I can''t even imagine her behavior after I got actually hurt.
