《The Wonderful World of Emmariel》 Prologue I squinted at the screen staring back at me in it''s various bright colours. How long had it been? While stretching my tired body, I twisted it leftwards to look at the wall-clock fixed on the wall just above the open door. The grey walls of my room were being partly illuminated by the screen of my PC monitor. It had been over 9 hours. My eyes were exhausted and my entire body ached. I pulled myself off the chair and stood upon the cold marble floor. One of my legs had gone numb. ''It couldn''t be helped'', I let out a tired sigh as I thought so. While taking one last look at the display, I prepared to move my feet towards the open door which led to my living room. Dragging my numb feet on the floor sent jolts through my body. It felt awful no matter however many times I had experienced it. I jerked it a few times and walked towards the kitchen. I fetched a bottle of cold water from the refrigerator and gulped half of it down while splashing the rest of it on my face. Unauthorized use of content: if you find this story on Amazon, report the violation. ''I haven''t eaten much today but I couldn''t take any chances'', I snorted while thinking so and moved towards the bathroom to take a shower and finish the rest of my business. The ice cold shower made my body shiver uncontrollably. It was late in December and almost New Year''s. It was unbelievably cold but I could persevere through it, after all I absolutely hated warm showers. Warm water on my body made me feel like my skin was melting. I carried myself back to my room while shivering. The cold breeze brushing against my skin didn''t help either. ''I might get a cold¡?'', I thought but I didn''t really have the need to worry about that. As I entered the living room, what I first noticed was the bright screen of my PC monitor, still illuminating the dark room. I had decided to leave it as it is. What else lay before my sight was a noose, whose rope end was tied to a hook bound to the ceiling. I had only witnessed such a scene during public executions as capital punishment was still very much legal in my country and executing dangerous criminals by hanging was unusually popular. About why I had such a threatening looking noose within my sight was a very long story. I giggled while looking at the noose suspended by the ceiling hook. I wanted things to be done with as soon as possible. I had already dealt with everything else. I sent one last text to a friend of mine and another to my mother. I didn''t need to type a very long message as my PC already had much of everything they would want to know about later. My heart ached as I pressed enter for the text I was sending to my Mother. It was a calm and cold winter night, and my 10th floor apartment was as peaceful and quiet as always. ''My friend will be here in about five minutes, I guess¡?'', I thought while looking at the wall-clock. The wall-clock was an heirloom of my family, it had served many generations faithfully. It looked tired and crumbling. Just like me. ''It''s journey will end with me today'', I smiled while thinking so. I leisurely walked towards the stool which I had already placed beneath the noose many days ago. Everything had already been prepared. The noose and the stool were placed at just the right height. One last strand of hesitation rushed through me but I pushed it aside. I had to do it. And so I did. As the last of the light reached my eyes, an apparition of a person entered my field of view before an audible snap was heard with which my consciousness was also snapped away. I didnt ask for this... but Yes. That is exactly what should have happened. My life could have reached its conclusive end just like that. I wasn''t religious and didn''t believe in an afterlife or a reincarnation. My mother believed that one will be endowed with a better life in their next reincarnation if they accumulated positive karma in their present life. But spare me from that, please. Though I wouldn''t have called myself an over the top atheist, I also wasn''t the one who would have believed in such nonsense. And Karma? It''s spoken of in Hindu religious texts that it could be cumulated by carrying out good deeds but what exactly is a good deed? What could be considered good from one''s perspective could be considered evil from another''s. One good deed realised could benefit one but harm another. At best, I weighed these preposterous aspects of religion as nothing more than human constructs devised over the years by the clergy and the nobility for whatever might have suited their needs at that time. In my opinion, this was the case not just for my own ''religion'' but for other religions as well. By no means, I didn''t respect religions. I valued religions for bringing a token of hope and light to people who needed something to hold unto but nothing more than that. If I had been asked whether I believed in or even wanted to be reincarnated? My answer would have been a big fat NO. But what was this? [You have been born as a result of coitus between a Human father and a Titan mother.] Seriously? ''Coitus'', it says. What the hell? No, forget it. There are a dozen more of these blue windows floating around me filling up my vision. Not like I have eyes, to begin with. As the next window goes- [You are currently a fertilised egg. Currently going through the Germinal Stage of development.] Yes, I''m literally just a fertilised egg right now. That''s all my existence amounts to as of now. I have no idea how I can see these windows if I don''t have eyes or rather I have no idea why I am still alive. Seriously. I was supposed to die. No, I didn''t have some sort of crippling depression or anything. It''s just that... it''s a very long story. I had actually given up my life very satisfied with it. Not to mention not everyone has what it takes to give up their life unless of course, if they are me. I bet my corpse had a peaceful and contented smile on its face. To put it briefly, I, was a tired person. Well, let''s stop talking about it. Aside from that, I presume that my mother and millions of others were correct after all...? I was reincarnated and with a bang of intense blue lights. No, it definitely isn''t lightning or anything. I''m not a Dragon or a God to be accompanied by natural phenomena upon my birth. It''s the notification windows I talked about earlier, bright blue and intimidating. These windows were the first thing I gazed my ''eyes'' upon the instance I ''zapped'' into consciousness. Yes, there wasn''t the sensation felt when you open your eyes. It was as if my consciousness was birthed along with the windows. It was instant. The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation. Since everything else in my field of view other than these windows is completely pitch black. I can successfully conclude that the sole part of me that presently exists as a part of my ''body'' is my consciousness and these windows are being projected right into my ''mind''. That''s just plain creepy. It was as if I was an AI which was yet to be provided with a physical body. Forget being a fertilised egg. The first window tells me that I''m an offspring of a Human and a ''Titan''. No. I''m not that surprised anymore. After all, bright blue floating windows and a talking ball of conceptus could only appear in fiction. As far as my earthly knowledge goes, Titans were deities in Greek Mythology. I might have disliked religion but I was very much interested in mythologies from all around the world. But why me, the great me, which used to be every part human, get reborn as a Titan- or rather a Demi-Titan as the next window corrects me. [You have been born as the race ''Ancient Demi-Titan''. An offspring of a Transcendent Human and an Ancient Titan.] The one thing I understand from these mystical turn of events is that this place where I have been reborn is, in every part not human. No, I''m not talking about my ''Oh, so new'' mother inside whose womb(or just wherever, I don''t really know how they reproduce) I might be but about this new world, I have been born in. This definitely is not Earth, to say the least. Would my mother have believed me if I told her that you can as well get reincarnated to another planet? I bet she would have called me crazy. My mother wasn''t very open-minded after all. Now that I am done clearing up my mind and have calmed down. I should check the rest of the windows. I feel like their radiance is gradually increasing in a very threatening manner. The next window says- Huh...? [You are the firstborn child of an ''Ancient Titan'' Mother. You will inherit most of the mother''s abilities and knowledge.] [You are the firstborn child of a ''Transcendent Human'' Father. You will inherit plenty of the father''s abilities and knowledge.] [Congratulations! You have received 9 of your Mother''s abilities and 8 of your Father''s abilities.] Now, what do I make of this? Is this like heredity? Like how a baby inherits its traits from its parents? The traits of a baby are determined upon the fertilisation of the egg where meiosis occurs. The traits are passed from the parents through DNA. This appears to be the same situation. I am not even an embryo yet but I have already inherited these so-called ''abilities'' from my parents or so it seems. I couldn''t help but think of them as traits. No, I''m not surprised by the mention of abilities. Being non-religious does not mean that I didn''t believe in the supernatural. I was a huge fan of fantasy novels and such. I had also played various RPGs and MMORPGs in my teenage years. This really does not surprise me. Unlike my mother or rather my mother from my previous life, I was and still am a very open-minded individual after all. My years of World-view hasn''t been completely shattered by a bunch of creepy bright blue windows. Not at all. From all the information I have gathered till now, I can conclude that this new world I am yet to be born in is a fantasy world with a game like System. But I''m not really sure if all babies or rather fertilised eggs get such notifications upon their conception. I don''t think they do...? Well, that''s enough about it. I should examine the other windows for more information. [You will possess an Ancient Demi-Titan''s special racial attributes upon birth.] Alright, that makes sense. It could be explained with Genetics. [Your unique genius in Magic has piqued the interest of the World.] [You have received the Title ''Genius who will never come again''.] Come again? Since when did I become a genius in Magic? Well, I don''t mind compliments though. I considered myself to be pretty smart in my previous life. I am also no longer a human so maybe this new body I have yet to receive has a genius for magic? That would be a big plus for me. [The Will of the World ''Emmariel'' has blessed you!] Huh, who? This is the first time I see an actual name from this world. It sounds rather Earthly. But who is this person? My mind drifted to strange places, thoughts of how Christian priests baptised newborns came to my mind. But that''s impossible, I am not even a newborn and it''s very obvious by how it''s worded that this person is certainly not a priest. A baptism and a blessing are also two different concepts. No matter how you look at it, it''s a God. Why else would such a mighty title be placed before their name? Yes, I used to be non-religious but my world-view has already crumbled apart. I couldn''t help but believe in these notification windows as these are the only sources of information and... light I have in my life right now. Literally. ''Will of the World'', it says. So, this is the God of this world? Isn''t my new mother also supposedly a God? Titans were deities after all. I am compelled to believe that she''s also a powerful being. Won''t I also be just as powerful since I inherited her power? I felt a flicker of enthusiasm when I thought so. I will need more information if I plan to investigate further than this so let''s check the other windows. [You have been assigned the Class ''Sovereign of Magic''.] [You have received the Title ''Blessed by the World''.] [The Will of the World ''Emmariel'' is speaking to you!] [My child.] Suddenly, a powerful and booming female voice rumbled in my ears- which I obviously didn''t possess. Why me...? The emphatic voice rang through my entire being. It had an incredible breadth of majesty encompassing it. But on the contrary, I didn''t feel fear nor alarm. The voice was imposing yet benign. It was gentle enough to put anyone at ease. It made me feel at peace and soothed me like the voice of a mother. At that instant, all I felt was great reverence for whoever held that voice. I quickly jolted out of my trance. What a dangerous voice. I believe she, assuming they have a gender, is the God that blessed me? [That is correct.] The powerful voice reverberated through my non-existent body once more. Ah, that''s right. It''s not like I have a mouth to reply with. She can definitely read my thoughts. [That is also correct.] It is...? I don''t really mind though. There is no other way for us to communicate- Or so I speculated but the very next moment I was teleported to a white space and a very familiar sensation assaulted me. It seems the Goddess provided me with a body as well. A body made up of glimmering yellow particles of light. It was surreal but the white space which expanded infinitely was even more so. Once more, the voice of the Goddess resounded and from nowhere in particular. It was as if this entire white space was speaking to me. [I''m not a God, my child. I''m the Will of this World and the mother of all beings residing in it, living and non-living alike.] "Ah...?", I said, now being able to voice out my words. The voice that came out of my mouth- which I now miraculously possessed, matched the one I had in my previous life. " Then, is Her Almighty someone above the Gods? I didn''t mean any offence by comparing Her Almighty with the Gods. Her Almighty might already be aware, I am not of this world. Please forgive this one, O Great One.", I apologized to her, stamping as much snobbery I could in my speech. After all, I couldn''t discern her temperament just from her act of giving me a blessing alone. It''s possible that she''s actually rather belligerent. My knowledge from Fantasy novels attested to the fact that Gods and other powerful entities hated it when their sense of individuality was disrespected. I genuinely didn''t want to provoke or disrespect an existence which might possibly be above the Gods. That is if Gods other than her actually existed. She might just be an omnipotent deity who dislikes being addressed as a God- After all, she did call herself the mother of all beings. It''s possible that no other Gods actually exist like in monotheistic religions. But that sounds rather plain for a fantasy world, doesn''t it? While I was pondering about that, the actually-not-a-Goddess ''giggled''. Why does she sound like the mother of my previous life while doing so?If you come across this story on Amazon, it''s taken without permission from the author. Report it. [Fret not about small things like that, My child. You are just as quick-witted as I deemed you to be. A child who outshines all others. To a child of mine who distinguished himself even before birth, I, reward with an extraordinary position!] [The Akashik Records have unlocked your Status prior to your birth at the behest of the Will of the World ''Emmariel''.] Huh...? How exactly did I distinguish myself and what is this Akashik Records? The name sounds particularly familiar... but other than that she talks like she was waiting for me... and isn''t she still reading my mind? [I am.] Confessed the Great Mother- or so I had decided to call her, with a hearty laugh. Oh... She isn''t as belligerent as I thought, it seems. Now, I also have many questions. Well, I had already partly accepted the reality that this new world had a game-like system so I could find the answers to some of them on my own. But new and unknown facets of interest persistently pop up one after another. I''m confused by them which I would rather not want to be. I want to be absolutely sure. So, let''s interroga- seek some insight from Her Almighty, "O Godde- Great Mother! I would be content if you would impart some-" While I was yet to finish my plea- on which I had decided to spend additional snob points, the Great Mother interrupted me with a most sincere voice which was dribbling with pride. [O star who shines brighter than all others! I reckon you already possess the genius to untangle your circumstances by your own strength. Don''t humble yourself down, for, your power is no less than a God''s. I shall walk with you on every path you take, O Great Sovereign!] And with the end of her monologue, I was once again teleported but this time, to a pitch-black space, contrasting the white world I was in moments ago. With that, I returned back to dark space I started at. My body of light also disappeared...? I sure will miss it... Ah! Moreover, the Great Mother left without answering my questions. Did she really have such great faith in my capabilities or did she just not want to answer them? No matter how I look at it, she left too abruptly. It''s really suspicious but I couldn''t do anything about it. Even if I distrust the Great Mother, it won''t change anything. I can only rely on myself presently. It''s alright since I''m very good at it. I will keep up with the Great Mother''s expectations. Now as I recall, the Akashik Records on Earth was believed to be a mythical archive with records of all human events, thoughts, words, emotions, etc, etc which had ever occurred in the past, present and future. Considering the Akashik Records in this world carry the same notion. I could affirm that its job is to preserve or maybe document the records of this game-like system...? All in all, an RPG''s ''Status'' is not very different from a record of a person''s entire being. I couldn''t really be certain though since the Great Mother put too much faith in me and didn''t bother to clarify such important information... I sighed while thinking so- which I was positively not capable of doing. I really miss my body. Besides, that''s all I could currently make out of the Akashik Records. Just how could she put such great expectations on an unborn child? Aside from that, what I''m more curious about is the ''Status'' which has been unlocked and the ''Class'' which has an overly grand-sounding name as if shouting ''Overpowered!''. I also got another title which along with the first title ''Genius who will never come again'' adds up to two. All of the aforementioned ''benefits'' have been bestowed upon me by the Great Mother. But why me...? I don''t really know what is so great about me. Is it because I possess memories of my previous life or because I''m not of this world? Those are the only two factors I could think of. Well, now that I am in this empty and dark space again I will probably have plenty of time to experiment with these thoughts and ideas. I have no idea how long I will be staying here though. Just what is the duration of a Titan''s gestation period? I don''t know. Titans were nothing more than a fascinating part of mythology to me before I arrived in this world. It could be several months or maybe even years. I wholeheartedly hope that it doesn''t take that long. Having inferred that much, I decided to deal with the new notification windows which appeared before me with the same bright blue flash after the Great Mother teleported me back to this space. [Due to the class effects of ''Sovereign of Magic'', most of your stats will be specialised in Magic.] Hm...? Does that mean I don''t get to assign stats even though it''s a game-like a world? That''s really unfair. Honestly. I am very grateful to the Great Mother for rewarding me with a class- which I know nothing about as of now other than that its obviously a Mage-type Class and even more so definitely overpowered b-u-t I also feel like I was cheated of my freedom. Twice. This bad premonition I have about the Class doesn''t help either. [You can pick your gender. There are three choices: Male, Female and Genderless.] [Which would you like to choose?] Definitely Male. I don''t want to play around as a female when I was very clearly a Male in my previous life. Let''s pretend I didn''t see the ''Genderless''. It would have been another story if I didn''t have the alternative to pick a gender by my own means but since I could then I would definitely go with the one I am most comfortable with. I''m also sure there would be a magic to disguise oneself as another gender if I ever had the need to. [You will be born as a Male!] Certainly. Let''s check the next window. [Your soul retains the essence of another world!] [You have received the Title ''Otherworlder''.] Alright, that makes sense. After all, I am being born with my previous life''s memories still completely intact. I will make sure to examine all these titles I have been receiving later. [Your status has been unlocked. Would you like to see it?] This was the last of the windows. ''I definitely want to see'', as I thought so the same bright blue light as the notification windows lit up before me but the new interface which appeared was much bigger than the notification windows earlier. [Status Screen] Name: Unassigned Age: 0 years old Gender: Male Race: Ancient Demi-Titan Class: Sovereign of Magic Level: 0 Titles: Blessed by the World, Genius who will never come again, Otherworlder. [Stats] Strength: 0 Agility: 0 Vitality: 3 Intelligence: 53 Mind: 10 Ah? That was very anticlimactic. Of course, I don''t even have a body yet. I shouldn''t have expected much out of it. At least I should examine the Status Screen appropriately and it seems there are several other scree- [You have gained a level.] Ah!? Is this broken? [You have gained a level.] The level up window was glimmering at me in its majestic blue hue. How could an unborn child- who had yet to develop a body, gain levels? Yes, I had already acknowledged the fact that this was a fantasy world where I would be met with ridiculous possibilities which may even more so be unbound by logic. But seriously...? Oh well, I was not going to make a fool out of myself by flipping out at every single absurdity I faced. I would rather keep the retorts to myself. Besides that, before I acquired the blessing from the Great Mother the notification windows or rather the system messages- as I had decided to call them, exhibited no feedbacks upon my call. But now I am capable of assessing my ''Status'' and I could also perform another very useful utility. Even though I yet have no clue about how I obtained a level. What has changed is that I am now able to ascertain why. Without further ado, I urged the system message to expand. More messages which were previously hidden unraveled themselves. [You have gained a level.] [You have received 117 stat points.] [Your physical body is currently incomplete.] [Stat points are being allocated to Intelligence and Mind stats in the ratio 6:4 until a physical body is formed.] [Stat points will be redistributed in the ratio 7.5:7.5:20:40:25 to STR, AGI, VIT, INT and MND stats respectively after a physical body has formed.] [70 stat points have been assigned to the Intelligence stat! ] [47 stat points have been assigned to the Mind stat!] [You have unlocked the innate racial ability ''Demi-Titan''s Might and Magic''.] [Inherited racial ability ''Titan''s Might and Magic'' has been assimilated into ''Demi-Titan''s Might and Magic''.] [''Demi-Titan''s Might and Magic'' has increased in Grade!] Now, from where do I start? First and foremost, I am nonetheless, yet to find out how I gained a level. Other than that, as per the system messages from earlier- it looks like it really is out of the question for me to allocate stat points by my own means. Furthermore, 117 stat points..? In RPGs that I had played in my previous life, a player received at best 10 to 15 stat points for every level up. Similarly, it was also possible to apportion your stat points. The whole lot of stat points that I received really exceeded my expectations by a huge margin. Now, if I put things together then I could come up with the possibility that everyone in this world receives a considerable amount of stat points upon levelling up. It''s very much imaginable that the stats are just overly inflated. Alternatively, it''s also feasible that it''s just me who''s receiving such a substantial amount of stat points. Rather, I earnestly hope that''s the case. All in all, why wouldn''t I want to be outrageously powerful? There could not exist a person who hadn''t, at least once in their life, longed for power. Either way, I am cent percent sure that my abilities would still be nowhere near average even if my assumptions are spoiled. After all, both my race and my class are extraordinary. Without delay, I brought forth my ''Status Screen'' by thinking about it and once more urged it to expand on my race. [Race: Ancient Demi-Titan] [Description: A race which is half-human and half-titan. An Ancient Demi-Titan carries the best attributes of both races. It possess a Titan''s innate power and a Human''s potential. It''s power far transcends its precedents.] That was kind of dull... I was expecting something much more grandiose. Well, nevermind that. I should check the attributes. [Attributes: -Every level up grants 42 stat points. -Every point in Vitality permanently increases Health Points by 50,000 points and Physical Defense by 800 points. It drastically increases Stamina. Love this novel? Read it on Royal Road to ensure the author gets credit.-Health Points recover by 0.3% per second. -Every point in Intelligence permanently increases Mana by 25,000 points and Magical Attack by 300 points. It drastically decreases reaction time. -Mana recovers by 0.1% per second. -Every point in Strength permanently increases Physical Attack by 900 points. It drastically increases Stamina. -Every point in Mind permanently increases Magical Defense by 400 points. All senses are enhanced. -Every point in Agility permanently increases Speed by 2 m/s. Reaction time is enhanced. It drastically increases Dexterity. -Experience points are acquired naturally over time. Natural experience gain decreases as a higher level is reached. Faster growth could be attained with training. -Innate racial skills will be unlocked when requirements are met. -A Titan''s Potential is predetermined since birth. Potential is severely barred. -A Human has Infinite Potential. Restrictions on Potential are partly lifted. -Experience gain will increase by 1500% until level 3000.] Aren''t those numbers absolutely overblown?! I was completely erroneous in my assessment. It''s way too broken. Normally in RPGs, the HP or Health Points of a player character only reached values in ten of thousands. Otherwise, a hundred thousand was as far as they would go even in the most superfluous games. Only boss monsters and NPCs had the liability to possess an HP in scores of millions. But now, at this instant, a single point in Vitality raised my HP by 50,000. Not to mention my Mana also increased by a good measure. The numbers of Defense and Attack also appeared to be just as inflated. Next in line, it says that the restrictions on my Potential were partially lifted. Well, for now I do not think that I need to bother myself with it. After all, it would no doubt take me a long time to reach the limits of my semi-restricted Potential. I should check on the class''s description and attributes as well before I complete my probing. [Class: Sovereign of Magic] [Description: The World has blessed you with the command over magic. The Sovereign of Magic reigns over all Ether Mana. A Sovereign is an equal of Gods!] This was a dozen times more typical than the race''s description. Who creates these? Can''t they do their job more competently and at least furnish the race and class with a description befitting of their name and capabilities? Maybe I am asking too much... Besides that, I already expected the description to be something along those lines from how the class was titled. Also, it sure is forcing a lot of emphasis on Gods. I''m not very excited about it to say the least. Let''s quickly check the attributes as well and get things done with. I''m having a really bad premonition. [Attributes: -Every level up grants 75 stat points. -Every point in Vitality permanently increases Health Points by 20,000 points and Physical Defense by 200 points. It drastically increases Stamina. -Health Points recover by 0.1% per second. -Every point in Intelligence permanently increases Mana by 70,000 points and Magical Attack by 1,200 points. It drastically decreases reaction time. -Mana recovers by 0.5% per second. -Every point in Strength permanently increases Physical Attack by 150 points. It immensely increases Stamina. -Every point in Mind permanently increases Magical Defense by 1,000 points. All senses are enhanced. -Every point in Agility increases Speed by 0.5 m/s. Reaction time is enhanced. It drastically increases dexterity. -Experience points could be acquired by accumulating Mana. -Through accumulation, experience and practice with Mana, faster growth could be attained. -Class skills will be unlocked when requirements are met. -Total Rulership over Ether Mana. All Energies associated and derived from Ether Mana can be utilised. Mana will be changed into the corresponding Energy. -Gods will dislike you to an extent.] Isn''t this just as broken? Was what I was thinking until I noticed something scandalous. Gods will dislike me!? Now I could understand why I was feeling so anxious. How could I not? I have been suspicious about this ''blessing'' from the very beginning. After all, I hadn''t actually done anything worth noting neither in this life nor in my previous life. Even if I overlook this fact by making up an excuse like ''Maybe, the Great Mother was fascinated by the talent this new body possess'', it still doesn''t make any sense. No, trust me. It doesn''t. I''m absolutely sure that there are thousands- if not hundreds of thousands, of others out there in this new world who definitely carry more talent than me. Heck, this w h a t e v e r talent I possess isn''t even my own. Why was I chosen? Why was I given such an exorbitant blessing? There undoubtedly is a much deeper meaning to it than I what initially thought. I will have to be really conscientious in the future. Otherwise, who knows what might happen? I didn''t want to mess with powerful beings like a God if possible. But due to my class, it seems like I would be messing with Gods simply by existing. Well, let''s think about it later. It''s really scary. Coming back to what I curious about since the start, I now actually somewhat understand why I gained a level. Due to my race''s characteristics, I can acquire experience points while doing nothing all. It seems like the level gain would be slow but if I take into account that a Titan has a very long lifespan then isn''t it viable to idle around for a few centuries but still become stronger? The Titan race is really broken. The one and only disadvantage they bear is the restriction imposed on growth potential. But the Human part of my race actually did somewhat manage to erase that limit. I do not know the Lifespan of a Demi-Titan but it definitely must be longer than a Human''s if not as much as a Titan''s, right? With that in mind, isn''t a Demi-Titan even more broken? But of course, even more unreasonably powerful beings obviously must exist if it''s a fantasy world, correct? That''s why, I''m glad that my character is completely broken or rather I am still not sure if this really is enough to rejoice about. If I was born as a weak Villager A, then it may have been plausible for me to not worry about my own strength b u t I am definitely not being born as a weakling. Powerful people would definitely take note of me and if they turn out to be stronger than me and are also hostile towards me then I might be in trouble, right? Well, I definitely do have strong parents too. I suppose I can relax for the meantime as they would definitely protect me. That is if they are actually around when I am finally born. After all, half-human races were always discriminated against in most of the fantasy novels I read. It''s possible that they will just abandon me in a dangerous forest or rather considering that they are as strong as I expect them to be, they definitely would have the means to get rid of me even before my birth. Let''s not think too deeply about it. I hope my new parents aren''t that cruel. I did die once but who wouldn''t be extremely enthusiastic about getting an opportunity to live in a fantasy world at least once? I rather wish to not die again. I also want to experience something extraordinary like a fantasy world, Damn it! Moreover, I''m being born with a dia- platinum spoon in my mouth no matter how I look at it. Even though the class I received is really suspicious, I couldn''t do anything about it other than be extremely cautious. I really hate being kept in the dark about things. I am still very grateful to the Great Mother for the blessing but I''m also very sure that I am being taken advantage of. As I was in a dilemma, a new system message popped up before me. [The Gods are extremely jealous of your power!] [You have received the Title ''The One hated by the Gods''.] I expected this but... Shit. Finally Hello, there. Three months went by in a heartbeat. Today- after dozens of days of humdrum, a change occurred. [You have entered the Fetal Stage of development.] Yes, I am now a foetus. What an awesome achievement on my part. I am so very proud of myself. Congratulations, me. Well, various other changes also took place. [Your body is now partially complete.] [Stats points are being redistributed in the ratio 7.5:7.5:20:40:25 for STR, AGI, VIT, INT and MND stats respectively to advance the growth of the physical body.] [Stat points will continue to be redistributed at fixed intervals.] With that, an almost unbearable pain assaulted my head- which I now possessed. [297 stat points have been assigned to the Strength stat!] [297 stat points have been assigned to the Agility stat!] [792 stat points have been assigned to the Vitality stat!] [1584 stat points have been assigned to the Intelligence stat!] [990 stat points have been assigned to the Mind stat!] The pain sure was intolerable. It felt as if my head was being hit by a thousand hammers. But not only my head, but my body also felt like it was being twisted in all directions simultaneously. The pain persisted for a mere moment but to me, it appeared as an entire year had elapsed. Only after it had thoroughly subsided that I was able to bring myself back to my senses. In my previous life, not even a single time had I experienced such excruciating pain. What the hell even was that? Ah, that''s right. I seemed to have forgotten that this was a real-world and not a game. A change in my stats will definitely alter my physical body as well. Over these last three months, I levelled up 35 times excluding my first level up. Much of it happened through natural experience gain as by far I''m yet unable to increase my level through other means. Most of my stat points were allocated to my Mind and Intelligence stats since I didn''t have a body back then to have the stats assigned to the Strength, Vitality or Agility stats. But now that I had a body to work with, stat points were redistributed to all the corresponding stats. Redistributing meant that the stat points were forcefully whittled out of my Intelligence and Mind stats and were further allocated to the other three stats. No wonder the pain. I just hope I do not have to go through such pain again. I really don''t like pain at all. Well, in the meantime I should check my ''Status''. [Status Screen] Name: Unassigned Age: 0 years old Gender: Male Race: Ancient Demi-Titan Class: Sovereign of Magic Level: 36 Title: Blessed by the World, Genius who will never come again, Otherworlder, The One hated by the Gods.Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. [Stats] Strength: 297 Agile: 297 Vitality: 795 Intelligence: 1637 Mind: 1000 HP: 26,100,000 MP: 96,215,000 I had already expected my ''Status'' to look like this but now that I''m seeing it again, I couldn''t help but exclaim that it really is magnificent. My HP and MP are already in millions. And it might seem like I am weak physically but that''s not the case at all. Even though I might be significantly weaker than the people who develop themselves in their physical prowess, I would still hover over the upper ranges in terms of physical capabilities due to my race''s innate might. Well, it would all really depend upon what the potency of an average person in this world is. Only then could I ascertain what my relative strength is. Besides that, I haven''t stood idle for these last three months. I was diligently experimenting with my stats and abilities. There are quite a few things I worked out First of all, I wanted to find out what the prefixes ''Ancient'' or ''Transcendent'' before a race actually implied. After pondering about it for a while, I figured that after a person surpasses a definite level milestone, they evolve and become a higher race. What led me to such a conclusion was the last point of my racial attributes. [-Experience gain will increase by 1500% until level 3000.] This made it clear to an extent. The milestone for an ''Ancient'' race was obviously 3000. No wonder my experience gain rate was augmented excessively. I was already an ''Ancient'' race without encompassing the level milestone. This indicated that my father was undeniably a higher race too. I have no clue what the milestone for a ''Transcendent'' race is though. Secondly, I don''t know what the actual level cap really is since this is not a game. I shouldn''t look upon this world as a game. It is apparent that it''s possible to level up to 3000. It not improbable to think that no level cap actually exists. In a real-world- even if it''s a game-like fantasy world, a level cap would be impractical as it would hinder life from growing and limit them. Besides, I''m beginning to suspect that the stat values in this world are just bloated. Well, I have no means to ascertain this though. I will have to stay awaiting til my birth if I want to figure it out. I did try finding out more about the world with my skills since I was really impatient and really bored too. Fortunately, I was able to access my skills. I had inherited tons of skills from my parents and acquired a class ability from levelling up. B u t, my skills were being restricted by an unknown force which I suspected to be my own mother. I tried using the Clairvoyance skill which was a part of the ''Human Esper'' ability which I inherited from my father but as I activated the skill, a system message popped up notifying me that the skill had been invalidated by an unidentified influence. By the way, abilities are like an amalgamation of skills and knowledge- both passive and active. I don''t really know what their rarity is though or whether or not they could be obtained through normal means. The abilities and skills also have grades. My own abilities seem to be at a pretty high grade. I couldn''t really determine it correctly yet. Lastly, with an increase in the Intelligence and Mind stats- very notable developments showed up on me too. I acquired an eidetic memory after my Intelligence stat broke through 300 points with which, the memories of my previous life which I seemed to have forgotten all the way stormed my mind all at once like a flood of memories. It made me almost crazy. I had to spend a whole hour sorting out my memories. After that, I also developed parallel processing when my Mind stat hit 500. I''m still not used to it but it''s really useful. It''s now possible for me to cerebrate several problems at once if I concentrate. It makes me dizzy and takes a ton of concentration to achieve but it also makes me able to solve dozens of mathematical questions at once. It''s really cool. Just what I would expect from a fantasy world. My processing capacity also increased by leaps and bounds as my Intelligence stats shot up. Like I said before, the stats directly affect certain aspects of a person''s body than just increase their HP or MP. So, if the Intelligence stat increases then the ''intellect'' will increase just as much. I assayed my newfound and undeserved intellectual ability by solving mathematical problems from my previous world. I was able to explicitly recall all of them now with my eidetic memory. With my earthly intellect, it took me at least 5 minutes to solve a certain problem. It took me at most, 3 seconds to solve the same question. Even more so when I used parallel processing, I was able to work out the problem in a mere moment. As of now with my Intelligence stat being all the more exaggerated, it takes at most an instant to solve the question. The difference the stats make are far too abstract. It''s really ridiculous that I deemed myself smart in my previous life. Aside from that, with my thinking capabilities increased, mountains of realisations from my previous life struck me. Rather, I would have preferred to not regain those cursed mementoes of my previous life. Either way, I am just going to seal them at the back of my head. If it was possible to erase them then I would definitely do so. I don''t want to deal with them. At least not after the realisations. Well, nought can be done about them for now. No use crying over spilt milk. Rather, I am looking forward to my future in this new world. As I looked expectantly towards the future, 6 more months passed by in a flash and the fated occasion of my birth arrived. 6 months later It had been six months since the last system message. Today, I received a system message once more. [Your physical body has reached completion.] [Your mother has entered labour.] [Your thought functions will temporarily cease at the time of the delivery.] [Your bodily activities could be automated during the delivery. Do you accept?] Yes. I have no desire to experience what it''s like to be born. I have heard that for a baby, it''s an extremely agonising process. I absolutely hate pain. It had been 9 months since I gained consciousness as a fertilised egg. With this, I could also safely assume that a Titan female delivers in a similar manner as that of a Human female. That can only suggest that I will also go through the same pain if I don''t automate the process. Well, I am not even sure whether or not automating the process will allow me to escape the pain that follows. Birth really is an awfully difficult time for both the mother and the child. It''s imaginable for the mother but lots of people seem to overlook just how harsh childbirth is for the baby as well. For example, imagine you are floating in a comfortably warm fluid where you don''t really have to do much of anything. You are being effortlessly fed and also feel no need to excrete. Then, suddenly your source of nourishment is cut off and you are now being pushed out of an extremely tight area. It''s actually tight enough to deform a baby''s head. No wonder newborns have funny looking heads. Their skulls are assiduously squeezed during delivery. It is an absolutely necessary process though. But, I just couldn''t fathom how painful and uncomfortable it would be. I don''t want to go through it. Childbirth is a joyous event, I couldn''t help but agree with that. But it''s apparent torture for the baby. Well, for now, I could just hope that I don''t feel any pain during the whole ordeal. A human female''s labour lasts 6-8 hours. When my little brother was born in my previous life, my mother gave birth in about 6 hours since when her contractions started. Why do I know of this? Of course, I overheard my mother talking about it with my father. I wasn''t able to interpret their conversation at that time though. In fact, I was only reminded of it due to my eidetic memory. Well, I could presume that it will take about an equal amount of time for my new mother to give birth. Ah, yes. I did also have a little brother. I don''t wish to talk about him because he was an ass to me but he was a decent human being, all in all, he will definitely take care of mother on my behalf. Because I''m sure she must have been really shaken from my death. Well, for now, I couldn''t do much but wait. I still have a few hours to spare so I should talk about what I did in these last six months. It was actually extremely boring. I didn''t really have much of anything to do.This text was taken from Royal Road. Help the author by reading the original version there. I did gain tons of levels though. I was also able to figure out the number of experience points needed to level up. It''s fairly simple. It took me 100 experience points to level up from Level 0. To level up to Level 2, it took me 120 experience points then once again it took me 144 experience points to level up to Level 3. Therefore, the experience points required to level up multiplies by 1.2 times after every level up. I am presently at level 82. I levelled up 46 times in these last six months. However, what was an oddity was the experience gain rate. It fluctuated an awful lot and was very inconsistent. Due to the variations which occurred constantly, I was above all unable to accurately gauge the experience gain rate. I couldn''t talk with conviction over what caused these fluctuations but I have a few ideas. Well, I need not worry about it so much now. I''m quite certain that whatever caused it only assisted in accelerating the experience gain rate. So, it''s nothing I have to give much heed to. Moreover, I have inherited plenty of Spells and Skills from my parents. Unfortunately, although I could study them, by no means I could use them. Any ability which had whatsoever to do with the outside world had been particularly restricted. I do not know whether or not they were sealed deliberately though. I am unable to make myself to believe that my mother is aware that she''s giving birth to a child- that is, in fact, a reincarnated adult man who had already been cognisant since nine months ago. But since my mother must undeniably be a mighty being, it couldn''t be impossible that she is aware of me. I had already propped myself for whatever obscurities I must face in this world. Nothing will surprise me. For sure. Aside from that, provided that my mother had been aware of me all along then would she not have tried talking to me? Bearing in mind that she kept me alive inside her for nine months then I am compelled to believe that she must hold at least some affection for me, right? She definitely must possess the Telepathy skill. After all, even I have it and I''m yet to even be born. Overall, I think it''s more credible to assume that she''s oblivious of my existence. That also implies that my skills are being unintentionally restricted... Maybe, there is a sort of Magic resistance existing in my mother''s body which makes it impossible for me to activate Mana. That can only be so. At the end of the day, I''m still level 82. Meanwhile, my mother is without a doubt at least level 3000. Nevertheless, I don''t intend to say that I''m unable to use all abilities. Only abilities which influence the outside world or my mother''s body in any way are absolutely nullified. There are some abilities which do not do so. I had inherited two abilities from each of my parents which incorporated oodles of know-how on whatever expertise my parents specialised in. There was no trivial information about the world in them. They were similar to a Tome of Magic or if it''s easier to understand, a Mathematics textbook. Unfortunately, they were both rendered in two distinct languages- different for both my mother''s and father''s abilities. They were languages that I did not understand. I assumed them to be the languages of this world. Rather, these languages appeared to be, more or less- fairly earthly... They did carry many discrepancies here and there but they still somewhat resembled two earthly languages- specifically German and Greek. With my enhanced intelligence, I was able to decipher the languages. I had become completely proficient in them in less than two days. The ability I inherited from my mother was simply called, ''Omorfia''s Inheritance''- Omorfia being the honourable name of my mother, which included copious and comprehensive amounts of information on everything associated with the night. Maybe, it was an attribute of sorts...? My mother''s ability granted me with understanding on precise inner workings of Necromancy and Magic, anatomy of many races including various fantasy races as well, Darkness Magic, Astrology, Lunar Magic and also creepy research on how to more efficiently ''harness'' and ''manipulate'' the Night itself- which I would rather not talk about. I don''t want to esteem my new mother as some sort of edgy villain. It had numerous detailed illustrations on the heavenly bodies of this world as well. These stars and constellations closely resembled those of Earth''s night sky. I could only make the assumption that maybe this planet is in the same cosmic neighbourhood as Earth? But that implies that I am still in the same universe as Earth. It''s really odd. In any case, I will have a lot of time to contemplate on all the suspicions I have on it later. So, I will let it be for the meantime. About my father''s ability, it provided me with an even more in-depth understanding of Magic than my mother''s ability. It was literally stuffed with profound knowledge on Magic and Spells. It didn''t emphasise any particular branch of Magic but had in the sense, wisdom on all forms of Magic from Alchemy to Necromancy. It was significantly broader than the knowledge comprised therein the previous ability. So much more, that even with my enhanced intelligence, it would still take me more than a year to revise it all. In these last six months, I spent most of my time indiscriminately absorbing all the knowledge from those abilities. It was somewhat boring but better than just dilly-dallying around doing nothing. Ah! enough of that, I should also talk about the Magic system while I still have the ti...me? Huh? [A Great Magic has substantially advanced the process of your birth!] [Your thought processes will now cease.] [Entering automation as per previously given instructions.] ... Wow, what a great magic inde- And with that, without being able to complete my retort, my consciousness sank into darkness. A King and a Prince ???''s POV: The Royal Capital Weisskrone, Magic Kingdom, Laidian Empire. The Royal Palace of Weisskrone had continued to be in a disorderly state ever since Her Royal Majesty, the Queen consort, entered her last months of maternity. Finally, this day the Queen assuredly entered her labour under the care of the Royal midwives. As the report reached His Majesty, the King and his court, the entire Royal District- which thoroughly cocooned the Royal Palace and extended for 10''s of miles, was magnificently fortified. Hereafter, nobles and the ministers of the crown alike sit in eager anticipation of the Queen''s delivery. The word has spread out amongst the denizens of the capital as well. Although many among the masses are aware of the Queen''s status as another race, they are still in a celebratory mood. The Royal family of the Magic Kingdom of Goldrute is much beloved. The Empire has become increasingly lenient towards the other races ever since His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Heinrich assumed the Laidian Throne. Despite that, among the general citizenry and the most radical nobility- other races are viewed upon with either animosity or dread. The sight of the people who give their unwavering love to their Queen without giving any heed to her alien nature is really precious. As for me, I am presently addressing His Imperial Highness, the 4th Prince of the Empire who had been staying at the Royal Capital. He will be the witness of the Royal birth as a representative of the Empire. "Your Imperial Highness, Her Majesty, the Queen consort is about to give birth. I believe you are aware.", I so inform the young prince who is currently going through a picture book. Yes, the 4th Prince of the Empire is just 8 years old. "Is that so? We must finish our own preparations then. Prepare the carriage, Lord Arnest.", asserts the young prince, much unlike an 8-year-old, before he strolls into the bathroom which is interconnected to his quarters. I left soon after. The Empire is a utopia for the people who live in it but for the royalty and the nobility, it''s equal to a battlefield. Sometimes literally. I am rather impressed by the 4th Prince who managed to overcome his older brothers and became the delegate of the Empire. I''m certain that all of them were pursuing this opportunity. His relationship with His Majesty, the King will be considerably strengthened in this endeavour. Talking about His Majesty, he had spotted himself outside the Royal bedchamber where the Queen will be giving birth. He fixed himself in place along with the Royal Guard ever since the news of the Queen''s labour reached him. His Majesty truly does love the Queen. Their love story has been turned into plays and is widely popular among the populace. Whereas now that the Queen is giving birth to their first child, it would be no wonder even if His Majesty summoned the entire army to guard the Royal Capital. Although, I''m not the one to be swayed by the ambience of the situation. The present state of the Kingdom is just so jubilant that even I couldn''t help but feel expectant. "The preparations are complete, Your excellency." A young man donning light armour with a gold-white colour pattern interrupted my train of thought. "I understand. Safeguard the way to the carriage, Sir Adam." I dismissed the young knight after giving him his instructions and walked back towards the Prince''s quarters. This story has been stolen from Royal Road. If you read it on Amazon, please report it I lightly knocked on the door of the Prince''s bedroom before entering. "Your Imperial Highness, the preparations are complete. Honour me to accompany you on your way to the Palace.", said I, to the prince who seemed to have finished his own preparations. "Certainly, Lord Arnest. We shall depart at once.", replied the prince in his not so childlike disposition. Hence, we quickly exited the building and walked towards the front gate of the mansion which was less of a mansion and more of a palace by itself. The prince''s carriage was parked right by the front gate entrance while Sir Adam and his knights were securing the way to the carriage. The Imperial Guards of the 4th Prince were also stationed in place, ready to escort the carriage on its way to the Royal Palace. I promptly boarded the carriage along with the prince before urging the coachman to start moving. A dozen more carriages which were painted in the red-white colours of the Empire and bore the Imperial coat of arms followed closely behind. Since the prince''s mansion was in the Royal District which bordered the Royal Palace, we arrived at the Royal Palace in just over ten minutes with our enchanted carriages. The wide roads of the Royal District were reasonably empty as every representative had been designated a particular path through which they and the huge number of carriages which accompanied them could reach the Royal Palace unhindered. We climbed off the carriage after the knights had secured the path to the Palace Gates. The Royal Palace had a size comparable to a small town. It left me in awe every time I gazed my eyes upon it. The prince''s huge entourage and my own council joined us as we altogether headed towards the hall which had been arranged for the dignitaries who were awaiting the birth. The hall was quite far from the Royal bedchamber where the Queen would be giving birth but it was better than nothing. His Majesty had been very thorough at reinforcing the Royal Palace for this auspicious moment. Even Cardinal Herman of the Church of Claritas, who holds the holiest position of the succeeding pope wasn''t let into the Royal household. Except for his Majesty and his court, no one had been allowed anywhere near the Royal bedchamber. Unlike the festive ruckus all over the Royal Capital, the hall had an eerie silence. The cause of the silence being the Cardinal who along with his entourage of Bishops, was offering prayers to the Goddess of Life Anima to bless the Queen with a successful delivery. "The 4th Imperial Prince His Imperial Highness Friedrich and the Royal Diplomat His Excellency Arnest are entering!" The herald announced our presence to the hall. Various head turns and murmuring followed but ceased soon after. The Cardinal and the Bishops paid no regard to the murmurs and continued their prayers. The representatives were appointed platforms and tables. We headed towards our own with our entourage and decided to patiently await the birth. Noblemen slightly bowed to His Imperial Highness as he passed by their tables. Crafty fellows. I smirked at their glibness. None of them were a part of the 4th Prince''s faction. "Lord Arnest, you also notice it, don''t you?", said an older gentleman in his fifties who was a part of the Prince''s entourage. Lazarus was his name. He had served the prince as his attendant ever since his birth. But by no means was he a simple fellow. His family had served the Imperial family for generations. He had the status of a Count of the Imperial holdings. He was the closest to the Prince among his other attendants. I didn''t need to reply to his question. After all, he already knew the answer. With this peaceful silence in the hall, I decided to close my eyes while waiting for the news which everyone else here was also waiting for. ¡Á¡Á¡Á¡Á¡Á¡Á¡Á¡Á¡Á¡Á 4th Imperial Prince Friedrich''s POV: Boom! The entire Palace shook and the sound of thunder trailed soon after. Clouds forming over the Royal Palace were noticeable from the windows of the waiting hall. However, the clouds were not dark but a much more pleasant gold. It was an enchanting scenery as if heaven had lowered itself for all to see. The Holy Book of Beginnings had described Heaven''s sky in the first paragraph of the second chapter. I attest, this sky had a beauty no less than that of what was thus chronicled. What followed soon after was a voice which had likeness akin to a gentle mother but a majesty comparable to this heavenly sky itself. I had heard this voice once before. It was the rejuvenating voice of the Will of the World. [Children of the World! The Magic King and the 2nd Titan Princess have borne a child who will bear the most outstanding position of a Sovereign!] [Behold the Magic Sovereign for he will have greatness like no other!] [On this historic occasion, I bless my children with a protector who will stand at the vanguard of this World!] [Shine bright, Children of the World!] A Sovereign. Everyone in this world had heard of the stories of sovereigns at least once in their life. I decided to inspect the mood of the people present there. The nobles and the officials seemed to hold complicated feelings. Some were confused, some had blank expressions on their faces, some looked intrigued while others had panicked faces. The bunch who''s sentiments were the easiest to evaluate were the Cardinal and the Bishops of the Church of Claritas who looked like their souls escaped their body. The Cardinal of the Church of Phantasia- the Goddess of Magic, had a slight frown on his face which was as I had expected. However, I myself felt awestruck. A Sovereign was a King. A King who ruled over not land but concepts. A King whose power was not bounded by the rules of this world. A King who was crowned by the very World itself. Now, that very King had been born in this Empire. A Sovereign whose stories I had read about only in picture books. To bear witness to the birth of one was an honour of the greatest order. That was when I praised myself for surmounting the obstacles that my older brothers had thrown at me. I knew that I had received a gift that I would never forget. However, what I didn''t know at that time was that fate had already intertwined our paths together. Mother and Father When I finally awakened from the slumber which I had deliberately put myself in, I was yet again greeted by the familiar sight of system messages shining brightly blue. [You have been born!] Was what the first system message stated. Never in my previous life had I considered what it''s like to be born again. To say the least, I wouldn''t have believed that a bunch of boxes would be hovering right above my head as soon as I woke up. [The Will of the World ''Emmariel'' has proclaimed you as a Sovereign to the World! ] [You have received the title ''Master of Magic''.] [You have gained a level.] [Your powerful mana is running turbid!] [A Great Magic has stabilised your mana!] Does every newborn receive these system messages upon their birth? Could they even read? It can''t be, right? Whatever might be the case, for the moment I should push them asi...de? The instant I minimised the system messages, what else lay before my sight almost startled me into jumping backwards. Not that I was positively capable of doing so... At first, since my eyes hadn''t adjusted to the dazzling light falling upon them, all I could make out was outlandishly shiny white hair contrasting the black space I had spent many months in. I was readily reminded of my Turkish Angora cat, which I had owned as a child in my previous life. Like most of its breed, it had fur as white as chalk. As my eyes gained focus, the countenance of a female human with braided silver hair stood right above me. Rather, I''m certain that she wasn''t human for no human that I had ever known in my previous life was so captivatingly beautiful. Her braided glossy silver hair and her pale white skin seemed to blend into each other. With her eyes closed, she looked akin to a sculpture of a Greek Goddess which had been crafted by a most dexterous craftsman. Yes, this was undoubtedly my mother. The human figure sluggishly opened her eyes which had remained shut until then. ''Ah!'', I exclaimed internally. As if mocking her white semblance, her sharp eyes had pupils as dark as the cloudy night sky. What to say, I''m reasonably surprised. My mother looked vastly different from what I had envisaged. She looked like a dazzling Goddess of Light than a dreary Goddess of Night. Certainly not the image I was expecting from someone with dubious hobbies. At least the colour of her pupils met my assumptions... While I was getting carried away, the figure or rather my mother... started shedding tears. ... What did I even do? Uh, I''m really sorry for questioning your hobbies...? Wait, is she reading my mind?! Ah! Calm down. She''s smiling... as well as crying. She''s crying tears of happiness! Sure enough. Which mother wouldn''t shed tears of joy over the sight of their child opening his eyes for the first time? Besides that, I had imagined a Titaness to be humongous. The black space where I had spent about nine months- which I believed to be my mother''s womb, was unbelievably dark like never-ending space. It really seemed like the black space extended indefinitely. I anointed this to the fact that a Titan must be huge... and so must be their womb. In fact, if I hadn''t been able to make out the barely audible noises from the outside world, I would have had to reconsider whether or not I''m merely drifting in space as an incorporeal ball of consciousness. After all, I couldn''t have possibly put my ultimate trust in the system messages. I was afraid that I may be betrayed. As I was contemplating my existence once more, my mother gently lifted me up and began to nudge my cheeks against her own. Even though she is a monster who wouldn''t even need to raise a finger to crush me... I suppose all the pessimistic anxiety that I had concerning the attitude of my mother towards me was unwarranted. Oh, well. That sure is lovely. I''m glad and all but could she stop already? It''s kind of embarrassing. This tale has been unlawfully lifted without the author''s consent. Report any appearances on Amazon. Ah! I know how to bring her to stop. That is, through a Great Magic of my own. And so, right there, I started shrieking at the top of my lungs. I do not know since when had I been so proficient at crying. My mother stopped cuddling me almost instantly and pulled me evermore closer to her. She gave me a deep stare right into my eyes. Creepy. Is she trying to intimidate me...? I cried all the more loudly at this attempt of hers. I am not going to follow your rules, woman! My mirth didn''t last long as I had to instinctively stop crying. What induced me to stop was an extremely revolting sensation as if I had been stripped bare to my soul. [Titan Princess ''Omorfia'' is observing your ''Status''.] What?! How could my mother be so cruel...? Does she have no regard for her child''s privacy? I became alarmed. If I''m not wrong then she must already be informed of my status as a Sovereign. Actually, everyone in this world must be aware of it. Thank you so much, Great Mother. As for my mother, she restored her delicate smile once more. What is she smiling so lightheartedly for? I am someone hated by the Gods, shouldn''t she be a bit frightened? After all, I have already ascertained that she isn''t a God herself. It''s a huge possibility that she might be incapable of protecting me from the Gods. My train of thought was broken as my mother pulled me closer and hugged me softly before beginning to lightly pat me on my back. What is she trying to do now...? It''s so embarrassing. After all, I''m a grown man inside. Mhm... well, it doesn''t feel too bad. I guess it couldn''t be helped. I''m have also been feeling awfully sleepy... so maybe... I... should take a... short nap. ¡Á¡Á¡Á¡Á¡Á¡Á¡Á¡Á¡Á¡Á Titan Princess Omorfia''s POV: Aurinus slowly closed his eyes and fell asleep once more. I gently poked his cheeks and placed him down on my lap to allow him to sleep soundly. Although there weren''t any complications with his condition, he hadn''t opened his eyes for the whole two days since his apparent birth. I knew with certainty that he would wake up sooner or later but anxiety still beseeched me. I couldn''t help but cry tears of joy as he finally opened his eyes today and curiously observed me with visible intelligence in those little golden jewels of his. He had pearly hair whiter than my own and eyes as if gilded with gold which he had unmistakably inherited from his father. I had a sudden urge to cuddle him once more but I paused myself from doing so as I didn''t want to wake him up. His sleeping face looked so very peaceful. Waking up before long, he looked so adorable while staring at me with his little eyes, that I couldn''t help but nuzzle his squishy cheeks. He immediately began to cry which nearly made me lose my soul. Panicked, I instinctively activated Observation Magic on him but oddly enough, he stopped crying just as quickly as he had started. I figured that I might have held him too roughly. I shouldn''t have embraced him so forcefully. My little angel must have felt really troubled. In order to soothe him, I hugged him all the more delicately and to my relief, he didn''t seem to mind this time. In fact, to my surprise, he fell asleep immediately though with a displeased frown on his face. He looked yet lovelier while doing so. As I was going through the events which had thus transpired, a tall young man with deep red hair and golden eyes entered the room. He was my husband, Arpad von Goldrute. I signalled him to stay hushed by placing my index finger over my lips. Following my gesture, he applied the Silence spell on Aurinus effectively creating a soundproof barrier on him alone. I responded with a sigh for what would be coming next. "Daaaaaaaarling!" I shot him down with a barrage of mana bolts as he literally tried to dive at me. "Owww... that hurt, that really hurt!" He screamed in a most dramatic voice as he rubbed his chin where the mana bolts had pummeled him. He never fails to surprise me with how much he could exaggerate the pain. What a pussy. It had been two days since I gave birth to our child. Since then, every time he had come to visit, he had tried to hug me in the same unrestrained fashion. Just after I had given birth, the first time he showed up to visit me, he recklessly jumped on me and I had to spontaneously put up a barrier. I''m quite sick of it at this point. I am afraid that he might end up hurting the baby if I allowed him to go like this any longer. "Forgive me for I must ask again. Arpad, you are aware of the position bestowed upon this child, right?" I changed the subject before he could get the chance to go on and on about how happy he is. "Ohh! Yes, yes, I''m aware, I''m aware, Fia. You have asked that question so many times already!" He replies in a fervent manner. Is he actually thinking about it? "Then you must also be aware of how dangerous this position is, correct?" As I remind him so, a belligerent frown forms on his youthful face which reverts back to his usual carefree expression in a split second. I prefer this Arpad more than the Arpad who acts like a fool. "Fia. " He spoke in a composed voice. After a pause, he continued. "I do not care for what dangers befall him or what position has been bestowed upon him. For me, he is my only child. Even if I have to fight off the world, I will still not fail to protect him. Please trust in me." He pledged in a much more serious tone. "Hm... I''m glad you aren''t being careless. I will allow a-" Before I could even finish, he had already jumped me leading to me having to instinctively put up a barrier. "Uwaaah... what was that for?!" He murmured in a low pained voice while hovering above the ground as he had been forced into the air from the recoil of crashing headfirst into the barrier. "Idiot! The baby is still sleeping on my lap. Before protecting him from others you need to protect him from yourself!" I retorted. This is already the nth time he had attempted such a wild stunt. "I... I... I will take care of the next time around." He said awkwardly. "You said that the last time too. You aren''t allowed to hold the baby for another day!" "What! I haven''t held the baby for a single time today!" He replied in a truly despaired voice. "You think I''m some sort of fool like your great self? I am well aware that you had entered the room with Sheath Magic while I had been asleep. Just how many times will you use that little trick?" "Huh! But I had revised the magic formula to make it undetectable... Ah, no! Aren''t you being way too harsh towards me, Fia...? Even though I love you so dearly... " "You sure do, Arpad. Now, out at once before I throw more mana bolts at you!" "Nooo! I am leaving, I''m leaving!" And there he goes storming out again from whence he came while screaming something incomprehensible like ''A King shouldn''t be treated like this''. Like I care about that. Though he would certainly be back in no more than 3 hours. He had been imprudently neglecting his responsibilities ever since I entered my last months of pregnancy. I hope he doesn''t do so anymore or I will have to deliberately keep him out... Breaking from my thoughts, I glanced towards Aurinus who was yet so peacefully sleeping on my lap and wondered what his future would be like. A year passed by in peace but it seemed trouble had paved its way into our lives much sooner than I had expected. Emmariel A chain of steep rocky cliffs which looked devoid of any life or vegetation. A towering figure was gazing down from one such cliff upon the narrow valley which ran through the ridge, looking just as lifeless. His wrinkly face didn''t sit well with his robust body and his sunken eyes lacked any and all vigour. The grey of his pupils was similar to the spiritless rock he stood upon. His long dark brown hair fluttered along with the strong winds. His dull eyes were fixated upon the tens of thousands of horseback archers who stood upon the valley with anxious expressions on their faces. They stood in a bizarre circular formation reminiscent of a huge magic circle. Hundreds of staff-wielding magicians were hovering a hundred meters above the ground in a similar circular formation as though resonating with the horseback archers. The magicians who were high up in the sky were synchronously chanting spells in an unknown language. An enormous- almost transparent dome-shaped barrier was shrouding the horseback archers as well as the magicians. Standing at the very crown of the formation was a stubby middle-aged man with an impatient expression on his rugged face who was uncharacteristically even, holding a staff much like the magicians floating in the sky. As opposed to the horseback archers, he was standing on his feet and had been petulantly bellowing orders to the soldiers in a voice which reverberated throughout the narrow valley. As the stubby man issued another incomprehensible command, the horseback archers speedily began to make amends to their formation. Full-throated yells in the same odd speech resounded from various fronts of the formation one after another. Before long the formation had been reorganised into a semi-circular arc. Unannounced, thousands of aura imbued arrows were shot from the bows of the mounted archers, tinting the air with a faint purple hue. The sheer density of the disbursed aura scented the air with a sugary aroma. The old man stood seemingly unfazed upon the cliff-top, with the same dull inanimate eyes. He very slightly lifted his right hand up and just so very slightly tugged at the air. It was a small sluggish motion- but the implications of these lazy movements of his hands and fingers were on the contrary, huge. An impossibly tall wall of rock and earth erected itself before the rocky cliff, partly enclosing the old man under its protection. None of the arrows passed by the wall. The stubby man who had been leading the attack had a nervous grimace form on his face as he irritably gave orders once more. The horseback archers looked like they had lost ten years of their life as they stared up at the wall of earth which appeared to be reaching into the sky. As the orders had been conveyed to them, without much delay, they ceaselessly barraged the wall with arrows fuming with a burning aura. Nevertheless, the arrows were unable to penetrate through the thick wall but the collective heat from the hot aura little by little accumulated over the wall and began to melt it down to molten rock and mana. However, as if ridiculing the combined efforts of the horseback archers, when the wall had melted down enough to grant them a view to the other side, all they saw was another wall which had been raised before them and seemed to be spitting on their faces. And so, the dance of endless arrows continued for hours until two more such walls had been taken down. A total of four walls. Four incredibly tall and increasing tough walls were dragged down before they were once again allowed the sight of the other side. Alas, they couldn''t see the cliff where the old man had stood upon. No, it wasn''t another wall but something much more hellish, something of such impossible monstrosity that it could make even Gods despondent. Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings. Hundreds- no, thousands of huge flaming boulders were perfectly filling up the sky beyond the walls. It was as if a huge shadow had been cast over the army which stood agape- trembling at this insanity-inducing scene. Much like meteors, they fell one by one. One by one. First in tens, then in dozens, in hundreds and in thousands, they shot out of the sky, one after another, spelling doom for all who stood there. The landscape drifted further and further away as the apocalypse ensued. The barrier which had been protecting the army melted down from the sheer heat of the approaching doom. The horseback archers broke down on their knees, their commander tore at his hair, the magicians- assured of their demise, fell down from the sky. And so it came, thousands of meteors impacted the surface vaporising not just the army but the entire landscape in a radius of hundreds of kilometres. A huge mushroom cloud of soot, dust and blazing fire formed over what used to be hills and valleys. Turbulent shockwaves spread due to the apocalyptic explosion. The amazing shockwaves, travelled far, reaching where I stood waiting for it, crushing me along with everything else that dared to stand in its way and steadily was I engulfed into darkness. "...nus..." "... rinus..." "AURINUS!" "GAAAAAH!?!" As if I had been splashed with ice-cold water, I jolted awake at once. "Aurinus! Are you alright? You were sweating all over and whimpering in pain! Is everything okay? Did you have a nightmare?" The voice which worriedly interrogated me was that of my mother. Even though I''m completely dry as of now, I certainly felt as though I was doused with freezing water. My mother is really... "... ah... yes, but please calm down first, mother." "I can''t calm down! Just what was happening to you?! What kind of nightmare had you making such a pained face?" She hollered in a panic-stricken voice. "Mother, I''m fine! Just calm yourself down. It was just a nightmare where I was engulfed by a storm, that''s all." I said honestly. After all, it wasn''t exactly a lie... "A storm? Just what...? Aurinus, why would a storm fluster y-" "It was a huge storm, mother! One of such awesome proportions that it would make even Gods tremble! Besides that, I''m not as masterful in Dream Magic as mother or I wouldn''t have nightmares. I wish I was as proficient in it as you..." I said with a sigh and a truly, truly troubled smile on my face. The concerned expression which was casted over my mother''s face was swapped by an embarrassed smile in a split second. " Ohh...! Is that so? Hahaha, don''t look so downcast, sweetheart. Even if you are such a genius in magic, you are still inexperienced compared to your mother. Ah! Should I give you lessons on Dre-" "No! I mean- You have already been preoccupied with court duties, I couldn''t possibly burden you with such a thing. Besides, I want to learn more about mother''s craft by my own means." I cut in on her before she could burden me- Err, before I would be burdening her with my own selfishness. "Are you sure? I could make time for you anytime, little angel..." "No, mother. I''m absolutely sure. Ah! That''s right, did something happen, mother? What brings you here?" I had already been living in separate quarters from my parent''s since three months ago, which was my first birthday. "Ah... That''s, your father had asked of me to check up on you since according to him, he had felt an odd energy emanating from you." "Father...? But, isn''t he in the Imperial Capital right now?" Father has always had a strange connection with me ever since birth. I had deemed it to be a peculiar skill of sort. I believe it''s necessary for me to be more watchful of father. "That''s right. I couldn''t sense anything wrong so how could that idiot do so from a thousand miles away? He had made me so worried. I will make sure to give him a good beating once he returns." "Haha... don''t be so severe on him, mother." "You don''t have to worry about anything, sweetheart. I will take my leave for now. Definitely call for me if anything strange happens, alright?" "Certainly, mother." She finally left the room but not before gracing me with a dozen truly lovely pecks on my cheeks. Thank you, mother. I did not ask that of you but thank you anyway. At any rate, I anyhow fooled her to an extent. Although from what I have observed of my mother''s personality over the last year, she would definitely hold some suspicions over this. I hadn''t expected her to barge in while I had been having one of those ''dreams''. It had been a year following my birth and as if keeping up with my expectations, I was met with the most obscure occurrences one after another. Ah! It had been a roller coaster. Even though not the most curious, these dreams had been one of them. After I had attained the level 100 milestone, I gained a class ability called ''Sovereign''s Wisdom''. At a glance, it was not unlike the other class abilities. It had seemed to be not much more than a groundwork for me to establish my skills as distinguished from the racial abilities which were already complete and as such already happened to comprise a plethora of skills. Nevertheless, on the surface, this ability had the unpretentious role of registering all the knowledge that I had ever amassed or will amass in my life. B u t, immediately after I began to actively make use of this ability, I seemed to have triggered these strange dreams which appeared no less than twice every month. I, of course, linked these dreams with the ability and- being as brilliant as I am, inferred that these dreams are like incomplete memories of sorts. Obviously not my own, though. Though accumulating knowledge from the Royal Library for about a year, I had verified that I am undoubtedly not the only ''Sovereign'' around. By summing up to this point, I could only deduce that these memories belong to other Sovereigns just like me. Fairly obvious, I am yet uncertain about why I have access to these memories though. Ah! To tell the truth, I will be meeting with such a Sovereign soon. That is the ''Sovereign of War'', The Emperor himself. About ten days remain until I gain an audience with him though. Why I am meeting with him? Why, of course, by the virtue of my dear father who had absentmindedly assembled a formal get-together with the Imperial family. Notwithstanding, over a year had passed since my birth to this so-called fantasy world which is just as wonderfully named after the Great Mother herself ''Emmariel''. Right after my birth, I had been obviously incapable of talking as my vocal tracts were yet undeveloped. Fortunately for me, I held the Telepathy skill- much thanks to my father, thereby, I had been able to communicate with my parents. When I had experimented with it initially, I had half-expected them to express shock but as if to mock my naivety, they had behaved like it was the most natural course of action for a baby to take. Strangely enough, I couldn''t blame them since they were beings who stood at the peak. They themselves must have had been capable of using such advanced skills since their very birth. Among other things, I have been born as a prince of a human kingdom. Am I surprised? Not. I had already presumed my parents to have an extraordinary social status if they were to possess quite so freakish strength. In fact, I had anticipated something on a much more grander scale like a floating kingdom of sorts... Well, avarice can spell a man''s doom. I should rather be far more concerned about whether or not I have been superfluously expending generations worth of luck. If I ended up dying once more, I''m cent per cent sure that this once I would be reborn as a talking trash can fixed in place next to a talking vending machine. All in all, I should be sufficiently content with this unmerited life of luxury which fate had gifted me with. Well, putting that aside. I''m just over a year old as of yet, specifically a year and three months old. Surprising? Infants and smaller children alike grow incredibly quickly in this world. A year-old child is already comparable to a three-year-old. Therefore, I''m, in a sense, already a three year old physically. Lastly, over the past year, I had tried my absolute best to seek out all the suspicions I had held about this world ever since I was still no more than a foetus. Consequently, I diligently conducted all the experiments which were thus possible within the constraints of this Royal Palace. In addition, I readout and analysed a paramount of books about the cultures, religions, languages and societal structures of this world from the Royal Library. Guess what I discovered? This world retains so many similarities with Earth and its culture that it''s almost preposterous. Fantasy world my ass. I will find out As a Prince of the Kingdom, I had access to all sections of the Royal Palace. As such, the Royal Library was also accessible to me. The Royal Library held books comprising wisdom on a compendium of topics. From demographic and historic records to concise and encyclopedic rationale on magic. There was a multifarious amount of knowledge stacked in each of those huge shelves which I would have had a tough time reaching up to if I wasn''t already able to fly. After all, the Royal Library was stupidly enormous. If I had to give a primary estimate then it wasn''t unimaginable for the Royal Library to hold tens of millions of books. 26,814. That was the total number of books that I had absorbed over the course of a year since my birth. Compared to the total amount of books in the Royal Library, I had managed to go through just a minor portion of it. B u t even that was sufficient enough to be an eye-opener for me. So, what conclusion did I reach? That was, this world or rather this planet- withheld plenty of similarities with Earth. Be it the cultures, the languages, the people or the customs and practices- each had parallels to those of Earth''s. It made me consider a possibility. What if this world isn''t just similar to Earth but is, in actuality, Earth? It was just an irrational hypothesis on my part but it didn''t seem impossible anymore when I had contemplated over it a bit more. Following some further research, I surprisingly found data on this planet''s shape, size, circumference, surface gravity, surface pressure and even it''s atmospheric composition. Oddly enough, not only was this world fairly well-developed in the field of magic but it was just as developed in terms of science too- even though it''s civilisation resembled the 15th century. Moreover, it was even more advanced than the 21st century Earth- whence I came from. In spite of the fact that collective research on scientific phenomena was not openly undertaken by the people of this world, it turned out that individual researchers and scientists existed. By their grace, I obtained all the data that I had been looking for without having to bother myself to conduct experiments. Through the data, I confirmed that this planet was significantly larger than Earth- about twice as large as Earth. It had a diameter of 16,785 miles and gravity twice as strong as Earth''s. Therefore, it definitely wasn''t Earth. It wasn''t a flat world either as most people would imagine fantasy worlds to be but was a genuine spherical planet in a proper star system. What was even more so perplexing to me was how a terrestrial world which was twice the size of Earth inhabited life which looked similar to those of Earth''s. That too was added to my long list of uncertainties. Besides that, unfortunate as it was, no research was conducted outside the planet. Despite there being powerful individuals who could have had escaped the planet anytime, leaving the world had been forbidden by the inherent laws of the Gods and even if they were to somehow bypass them, the God of the Stars prevented anyone from leaving. This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there. I did not understand why such an unreasonable restriction had been imposed upon the inhabitants of this world and as such, it made me all the more intrigued. Luckily, although no scientist was capable of leaving the planet, they still had the ability to infer many things from the surface itself. From the positions of the stars and the constellations in the sky, I deduced that this planet was a very short distance from Earth. At the very least, it was undoubtedly situated in the same Milky Way Galaxy as Earth. But how was that possible? Why were there so many Earth-like elements on this planet? That question brought my mind to an absolute standstill. In the various fantasy novels that I had read in my previous life, it wasn''t out of the ordinary for the authors to include tons of Earth-like elements in their world but now that I had been reincarnated in such a world myself, I couldn''t help but look upon it as something strange. After I had come to this world, I had attempted to ignore the reality of this world. The element of the supernatural had made me thoughtlessly enthusiastic. It led me to avoid various such peculiarities. I simply hadn''t wished to stress my brain out with an outrageous idea which would have had left me foreboding over it forever. However, I couldn''t have had just pushed it aside anymore. Let me state this, this world had the potential to be a utopia. What defined a utopia? Of course, availability of abundant energy reserves- where mana fulfilled this criterion to a considerable extent. Nevertheless, even if it could have become a utopia, nothing of a kind of a ''perfect utopia'' could have ever existed. After all, perfection was nothing more than an illusion habituated by the deluded. To make it clear- although this world had appeared fantastic to me at one point, as of now, it seemed just as unusual. In conclusion, if I truly desire to unravel why this world is the way it is then I will have to peer deeper into areas where no one has ever been to before. Until now, the so-called scientists have steadily conducted thorough research on all natural phenomena which has ever transpired in this world. However, they limited themselves to its bounds and never furthered their research in the fear of Gods. As I mentioned earlier, science in this world is a subject of taboo of sorts- which is akin to the study of magic on Earth. It''s like a cult. Though that is not surprising, after all, science and the usual 21th-century technology is hundreds of times less effective than magic and it''s components. Magic overshadows science at almost everything. That old man in my dream had exerted a force which was much like a small nuclear explosion. Isn''t that unbelievable? If a single person could nonchalantly wield such force then what could a bunch do? This renders science and its applications absolutely irrelevant to the inhabitants of this world. No wonder the scientists are ostracised by the people and are deemed to be no more than eccentrics wasting their lives away on something pointless. It''s quite ridiculous how those scientists are yet capable of and have already made discoveries which would certainly be viewed as unimaginable and revolutionary on Earth but are once again worthless to the inhabitants of Emmariel. I can see why this world still retains a societal structure much like the middle ages on Earth. Magic has enabled civilisation to cling to the old medieval concepts. The existence of Gods in this world is an established fact. Therefore, the authority of religion is formidable. Furthermore, the game-like system in this world has attributed to a huge disparity of power between the common people and the ruling class which has allowed monarchies to flourish. Hence, any and all advances in science are incapable of breaking the rigid intricacies of this world''s society. As was evident in Europe during the lower middle ages- if a large number of people mindlessly believed in something, per se, religion then whatsoever could have broken their fervent beliefs was to be shunned into oblivion. Such is the case with this world. Although scientists are tolerated, their ideas are derided. Ultimately, they turn into nothing more than the butt of jokes. It''s really pitiable. However, it''s the most ideal way for me to figure things out about this world. After all, even though there''s not much of what magic couldn''t achieve, it''s not omnipotent and relatively lacks in its analytical capabilities in comparison with science. In fact, with the help of magic, the interests of science could be furthered and perhaps, I will be able to clear my suspicions much sooner. It''s possible that I too might become the subject of derision not unlike the other scientists but it couldn''t be helped. If I hadn''t the power to ascertain my doubts about this world on my own then I wouldn''t have bothered. Anyhow, unfairly as it may, I was bestowed with the power, capability as well as the status to carry out my desires. Why wouldn''t I go along with it then? I absolutely hate being kept in the dark. Why should anything else even matter? I want to be absolutely sure... and... so I will be! Yes! I will find out! I will find out how this world came to be! How the people came to be! How the Gods came to be! How this world holds similarities with Earth and whatever there is to- [Your blasphemous ambitions have angered the Gods!] [The title ''The One Hated by the Gods'' is updated.] Huh?!
