《The Creator's Dilemma》
Prologue
¡°I leave for 2 weeks with the simple instruction NOT to add that Thing into the game because it doesn¡¯t fit with the plan!¡± Stanley yelled at Frank in their office.
¡°I thought it would still be a good idea to add in as an Easter Egg for people to find, I want to leave my mark in our game somehow rather than just be a name in the credits list!¡± Frank yelled back.
¡°Instead of doing that if you had just worked on the crafting and enchanting AI as I asked then we would be ahead of schedule. Now we are behind and have to make that AI, along with all the others and their connection to the Overlord AI along with their console inputs. Had you at least worked a little bit on the AIs while I was gone I would have been ok with you making your Easter Egg but no you spent the WHOLE TIME making the damn thing!¡±If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
¡°Technically I did do a little work on the AI.¡±
¡°Making it so that the Terrain and Items AIs don¡¯t undo your work doesn¡¯t count as working on the AI.¡±
As Frank and Stanley were having this argument they were standing on each side of Stanely¡¯s desk while Stanley¡¯s monitor showed Frank¡¯s changelog from the past 3 weeks showing what he was doing before Stanley went on his trip and while he was on his trip to show the change in where he is working and what he is working on. The change wasn¡¯t subtle either it was a very obvious change from what he was originally doing, to his little Easter Egg.
¡°That¡¯s it, I am done with you I don¡¯t care how long we have worked together on this project, I have caught you so many times slacking off and messing around. You are FIRED!¡±
Chapter 1: The begining
Chapter 1
It''s launch day and Stanley is looking at the number of people who have logged into his brand new game that he spent years making and making the multiple AI that runs it. He is just sitting in his office with the lights off because he was planning on leaving soon but wanted to see how many people actually log into the game on launch. Then everything started to go downhill. His Developers console started filling up with errors and after sitting there typing in multiple commands he finally finds out where the bug originated and found out that it was also causing bugs physically in-game. So he has to login to quarantine the area off so people are not causing cell pings re-engaging the glitch and causing more problems luckily it is in a higher level area but you never know how long it will take to fix a glitch or a bug. So in order to fully quarantine the area, Stanley decided to log into the game and do it from there with his master account instead of using his normal account that he would use with just testing out the game. Just because he likes to actually walk around in the world, and as he travels over to the area he can look through the files and see how to fix it so technically he is killing two birds with one stone.
¡°Let¡¯s see what I¡¯m dealing with here,¡± Stanley says to himself as he is flying over to the area. ¡°Luckily even if this takes a few days it''s not likely that someone is going to come across it since it is located in one of the level 50 zones.¡±
As he is traveling he notices that this glitch goes deeper into the system than any glitch he has ever seen, luckily it didn¡¯t breach the core of the system which would mean he would have to shut down the servers and very slowly fix the whole system himself because if the AI were to work one it, they might get corrupted and cause even more problems. Causing Stanley to completely remake the whole game and all of the AI for it. Needless to say, he did not want to do that.Did you know this story is from Royal Road? During his flight, Stanley got a ping from his admin console signaling a bug report. Checking the ping he sees in the past few seconds he has gotten multiple reports of people being unable to log out.
¡°That is strange maybe the server is lagging and not registering their commands.¡± Stanley mused to himself. Thinking longer on it Stanley opened his console and focused on his person doing a few trial tests he opens and manipulates his HUD and settings and checking to see if there was a system delay through that. Seeing no delay and that everything registered correctly, Stanley then went to logout himself only to receive

¡°This isn¡¯t right what is going on... until I can fix this I must warn the players that there is a bug and that we are unable to log out,¡± Stanley says then sighs ¡°why do I feel like this is a lot worse than it looks like?

Opening up his administrator HUD he goes to the Public Broadcast Sub-Category and activates the admin apparel set hiding his face so when he is out in public people won''t come up to him and harass him about not being able to log out. He then activates the broadcast and waits a few moments as the world pauses so people can watch and listen to the broadcast without being attacked by mobs or anything else.

Global Broadcast
¡°Hello everyone as you may know my name is Stanley Lindsey the Creator of Transcend Online. I am making this broadcast because it has become apparent that we are all stuck inside Transcend Online and are unable to logout. I don''t know what caused this but I am not even able to shut down the server I fear that this bug might be deeper into the system than I originally thought because it also took down the outside communication systems. To keep more people from logging into the game I closed the servers to new connections so people can''t log in I will keep it like that until I am able to get everyone here out of the game please while we are all stuck here report any bugs you come across because I might be able to link it to the bug and lead me to solve it but please don''t try to spam the report as there will likely be multiple reports I will be dealing with, and please don¡¯t just report so you can physically and verbally attack me. Please, anything will help, help me help you. For the hackers who are of course in here, there is never a game without at least one hacker. For once you guy can actually be useful to the game. For every loophole, you people can find and report, once I fix it I will grant you any one thing you want. This is for each loophole found. Even though I say this I will not grant custom-coded items or high tier items.¡±
¡°That is all for this announcement, even with this problem hanging over everyone, I hope you all can at least enjoy my game a little bit I have spent a lot of time and money making it and I am very sorry that this has happened. Even with all the prelaunch tests, I have done nothing like this has ever come up.¡±
¡°Thank you for listening.¡±

With the announcement done Stanley checked the reported bugs log and set the notification settings to once every hour if there is a report so he isn¡¯t instantly spammed with reports. After that, he went and started to create a character so he could blend in with the people and not be noticed and would have free will to move around. Before he did that though he needed to talk to the AI that runs the whole game system. This novel is published on a different platform. Support the original author by finding the official source.

With this Stanley expected the AI to open a voice and text chat with him, but instead, the Overlord appeared in front of him in a physical NPC character model.
¡°That''s new¡± Stanley mused to himself
¡°You called master?¡± the Overlord said and kneeled to him
¡°Yes something major has happened and many of the game systems are nonfunctional you are to put 60% resources into a full system scan and repair there are bound to be major bugs in the game since this happened the main thing I want you to focus on is to bring back up external communications so we can talk to people on the outside and explain what is currently going on. Put all 60% resources into doing that then once it''s done focus on the bug in cell 184 then spread those resources out to fix all the reported bugs in the started area the more of those we can crack down on the better.¡±
¡°Confirming commands. Allocating resources... complete.¡± the AI droned in a toneless voice
¡°That is all for now dismissed¡±
¡°Acknowledged¡±
With that, the AI disappeared and Stanley decided he needed to make a character to explore his creation with. under the guise of looking for bugs when he really just wanted to run around his world

¡°Finally that took way to much time¡± Stanley muttered to himself. ¡°Why did I even set a limit for that? maybe the AI did it to try to limit people from breaking the system by creating more characters and spamming certain items.¡±
¡°Now since that took me way to long there are now multiple bug reports I have to respond to so I will have to get to creating a new character for myself after I deal with these reports¡±

With that done a portal started to appear in front of Stanley ¡°This is going to be a very long day,¡± he sighed to himself and the portal dragged him in.
