《One Look Man》 Prologue. Are these old guys just a bunch of kids? If you thought defeating an enemy with a single punch would be the limit of being overpowered, then I¡¯m sorry to inform you, you¡¯d be wrong. There exists a curse that leads to an even more solidiary fate than that. One look. That¡¯s all it takes to defeat someone. Why? Why did this misfortunate fate befall some normal person like me? Am I cursed to forever suffer through this hell? This reality is far too cruel. For as long as I can remember I¡¯ve been forced to go around everywhere in life with my eyes glued to the ground. I¡¯m terrified to look up even once. If I did, a fate far worse than death awaited me. ¡°Ha! Ha! Ha! I am the Demonic God of Thunder! Foolish mortals swine grovel beneath my feet and worship me!¡± ¡°He¡¯s too powerful! We need back up! Run away! Scatter!¡± ¡°Ha! Ha! Ha! Eat my Thunder Cannon of Chaos little mortals!¡± ¡°He¡¯s an S class disaster calamity. There¡¯s no way we can defeat him! Retreat!¡± Bump. ¡°Who¡¯s that?! What are you doing?! Why aren¡¯t you running away you fool?! Didn¡¯t you hear he plans to use his Thunder Cannon of Chaos and Impending Calamity of Doom?¡± ¡°What are you talking about? It was clearly Thunder Cannon of Chaos and Super Impending Calamity of Doom and Heartrending Destruction!¡± Ah. I wasn¡¯t paying attention to where I was going again and bumped into a group of weirdos. I mustn¡¯t look up. I can¡¯t do that. Definitely not. Never. It¡¯s something I must never do for the sake of the world. Anyways forget about me, what are these strange people talking about? ¡°Wait! Everyone, do not fear! It¡¯s him! One of the ten strategic class weapons that no one can defend against! One of the heroes of legends! We¡¯re saved! Fear not random half bald ugly bystander with the disgusting long scraggly beard who bumped into the vile Demonic God of Thunder! Humanity¡¯s greatest secret weapon will surely save you!¡± What are these morons talking about? What Demonic God of Thunder? Are you idiots a bunch of children? As if someone like that exists. Are they grade schoolers playing around or something? Peh. ¡°You little mortal swine dare touch me?!¡± ¡°Ah. Sorry. Sorry. I wasn¡¯t watching where I was going. Excuse me.¡± He didn¡¯t move out of the way. I tried to step around him, but I bumped into someone else instead. ¡°Don¡¯t worry half bald bystander. There is no need to fear. I am here to save you.¡± I heard the voice of some masculine macho sounding weirdo. Ugh. It¡¯s nothing but a bunch of strange losers playing games everywhere I go. ¡°Uhm. I¡¯d really like to get through, can you please let me pass.¡± ¡°What are you talking about young man?¡± ¡°You see I¡¯ve got to get to class I¡¯m in a bit of a hurry.¡±Unauthorized usage: this narrative is on Amazon without the author''s consent. Report any sightings. ¡°Class¡ You?¡± ¡°Yes. Is there a problem with that?¡± ¡°You just look a bit¡ unlikely to be¡ no, never mind. I am a hero of justice, I can¡¯t be judging based upon looks.¡± ¡°Mortals die!¡± Woah. That was close I almost lost my balance from some gust of wind. ¡°Hoh? You blocked that? Not bad for a little mortal hero. To block my Thunder Cannon of Chaos and Super Impending Calamity of Doom and Heartrending Extreme Destruction is quite the accomplishment for a fly.¡± Really? The name of this so called move has been getting progressively longer and longer. Why is nobody saying anything? ¡°Ha. That little attack Thunder Cannon of Chaos and Super Impending Calamity of Doom and Heartrending Extreme Fatality Destruction was on the level of a baby¡¯s punch, you small fry Demon God of Thunder.¡± ¡°No way! The legendary hero is too strong! Too strong I say!¡± Hah?! Too strong? Are you kidding me? He said it was a baby¡¯s punch. Anyone could take a baby¡¯s punch. What are you getting all impressed for? ¡°Foolish human that was only .001% of my power.¡± ¡°I will now show you my true ultimate killer move, True World Ending Thunder Cannon of Chaos and Super Impending Calamity of Doom and Heartrending Extreme Fatality Destruction Supreme Majestic Grand Death Bomb Excalibur Unsealed Plus Ultimate¡the End¡ Humanity¡ Killer¡ (one minute later)... of the World!¡± Ah. Yeah¡ IT¡¯S TOO DAMN LONG! There was a loud bang. A lot of vibrations. I even heard the guy beside me fall to his knees. ¡°Great legendary hero! Defeated?! How can this be?! Is there no hope left for humanity?¡± ¡°It¡¯s over! The city is doomed! If this hero is no match for him, what are we supposed to do?¡± ¡°Keh. Not bad Demon God of Thunder. I never expected you truly held back so much in that first attack of yours.¡± ¡°If I truly used my full strength, destroying this entire world would be as easy as casually waving a finger.¡± ¡°Hah! In your dreams. As long as I live and breath you will never have your way!¡± ¡°This is truly boring me now. I shall bring an end to you.¡± ¡°Why are you getting so ahead of yourself when I haven¡¯t even unleashed my true power? Did you really think you were the only one holding back just now in our clash? Did you really think that was all there was to the strength of humanity? Foolish demon, repent for your naivety! Nine Heavens Divine Seal unlock! I call upon the power of all heroes! Lend me a bit of your strength.¡± What the? Am I seeing things? I could have sworn I just saw some strange lights flying by towards the weirdo who said that. Nah, I¡¯m just getting caught up in their pace. Stupid things like that don¡¯t exist. This isn¡¯t some strange world where super heroes actually exist. I¡¯m honestly troubled though, I¡¯ll really be late to class if they don¡¯t let me through. ¡°Uhm¡ excuse me, do you guys mind?¡± ¡°Shut up mortal.¡± ¡°Shut it half bald weirdo.¡± They were really getting on my nerves now. Strong gusts of wind blew against me forcing me head up. The first thing that came into view was the self proclaimed Demon God of Thunder. Ah. Oh no. The atmosphere suddenly froze over. There was suddenly a deathly stand still. Both parties were frozen in place. I was similarly frozen in place. I was horror stricken. Why? Why did it come to this? Of all things? You fools! You¡¯ve brought another calamity my way because of your messing around. The so called Demon God of Thunder had a flushed face. It was a sight so disgusting I wanted to throw up immediately. ¡°You. How can this be possible. For a mortal to¡ make me feel this way.¡± I ran. In the sudden standstill I immediately ran for my life with my eyes glued to the ground. ¡°Eh? What are you doing? Why do you look so enraptured like you¡¯re in heat? Ugh disgusting. Whatever, this is a perfect chance to take you down. This is the end Demon God of Thunder! Eat this, Thousand Times Otherworldly Hero Lariat of Destruction!¡± Boom. While I fled for my life I heard a loud sound which was followed up with another abnormally strong gust of wind from behind me. ¡°... it¡¯s over? Is it really over? Has the Demon God of Thunder truly been defeated?¡± ¡°No. It seems he escaped with his life barely intact somehow.¡± ¡°It seems that ugly half bald bystander somehow diverted the Demon God of Thunder¡¯s attention which yielded an opening for me. The world is truly a big place. Hidden dragons are even biding their time secluded from worldly affairs like this. There¡¯s no way he was just someone on his way to class. I don¡¯t even know what that person did.¡± ¡°Aren¡¯t you thinking too much into it? He was clearly just a random passerby who coincidentally got tangled up with this whole ordeal.¡± I barely heard that exchange in the distance. I¡¯m not a weirdo playing hero like you freaks! I¡¯ve got much worse problems to deal with. Anyone I so much as look at instantly falls in love with me and becomes powerless. They fall to their knees for no reason at all! All I ever wanted was a normal life, why was I born into this wretched fate?! Damn it all! Superheroes and what not are all just a bunch of hogwash. They don¡¯t exist so stop playing heroes at your age damn it! Chapter 1. My first day of class was... Strange, they鈥檙e all self deluded weirdos. ¡°Haaaah.¡± School at last. Finally, my safe haven. I bumped into a bunch of weirdos again today. It was really the worst. I¡¯m glad that¡¯s over with. Now I can peacefully enjoy my school life. Well my desk is about the only thing I see throughout the entire day though. I can¡¯t ever look up in fear of the repercussions. If it was a male teacher at the front, or if I glanced at one of the male students by accident, things would become annoying. Because of this handicap in my life, I had to record videos of the blackboard to keep up with my studies. It was such a major inconvenience. I had no control over this. It always just happened on its own. One look from me was all it took to make a person submit. If I looked at my teacher and they suddenly fell to their knees and grovelled at my feet begging for me to accept them, I would be extremely troubled. The worst part of everything was that simply taking a video wasn¡¯t enough to stop this absurd one look phenomenon from occurring. I actually had to hire someone online to edit the video for me to block out the image of any people in it to avoid that ridiculous phenomenon. The same thing happened with pictures as well. As long as I looked at them, whether directly or indirectly the end result was the same. We could be separated by continents and it would happen. The first time I discovered this was when I was very young and my parents changed the channel from the anime I was watching to a prestigious award ceremony. The actress immediately fell to her knees panting in heat. She even said my name which had the younger me terrified to death at the time. Forget about the unpleasant things though. Today was my first day at my new school S.H. Academy. The entrance exam was really weird though. There was none. At least none that I was aware of. It was an academy held in high regard for its employment rate after graduation I heard so I applied and I got in for some reason. The weirdest thing was when I sent my application by email five minutes later I received a response that indicated I was accepted. I was sceptical, but I decided not to question it. Maybe I was just lucky. With my inability to look at people directly it was a godsend to be accepted so easily. When I entered the classroom there were all sorts of discussions going on. I found an open seat right by the door at the back of the class and sat there. I put my head down on the desk and listened in closely to the gossip. ¡°Hey. Hey. Did you hear about it?¡± ¡°About what?¡± ¡°The legendary S rank strategic class hero, Unity Man was deployed earlier today. I heard it on the radio on my way here.¡± ¡°No way! Unity Man! Are you sure about that?¡± ¡°I¡¯m certain. It was huge. He defeated the Demon God of Thunder effortlessly. People say the Demon God of Thunder even fell to his knees from the awe-inspiring might of Unity Man. After he took a hard hit he miraculously fled with his life in one piece.¡± Hah? Those weirdos who were playing superhero from this morning, they were actually on the news? Why do news outlets have nothing better to report on than stupid old men playing make pretend super heroes? There are always ridiculous pointless stories like this on the news all the time so I shouldn¡¯t be surprised. ¡°Tch. Why are kids so gullible?¡± I thought this school would be different. Why is it that every school I go to has stupid kids who eat this nonsensiscal hero stuff up like gold? It¡¯s basically the same thing as wrestling isn¡¯t it? Just some old dudes trying to live a life of falsified glory or infamy. ¡°What! What did you say brat!¡± Ah. Did they hear me? My desk vibrated when one of the two kids that were talking earlier slammed their hand down on my desk. ¡°Sorry. Sorry. I didn¡¯t say anything.¡± I¡¯d rather not get into a fight on my first day here so it would be best to just apologize. ¡°Sorry isn¡¯t going to cut it brat. You just called us gullible, what did you mean by that you half bald loser. What¡¯s with that long beard of yours? Aren¡¯t you too old to be attending this academy old man? Or could it be you¡¯ve flunked so many times that you were never able to get past first year? Hahaha. Hey guys get a look at this old loser who thinks he¡¯s better than us.¡± ¡°Old? I¡¯m the same age as you.¡± ¡°What? Stop lying old man.¡± ¡°Just because I¡¯m half bald doesn¡¯t mean I¡¯m an old man you dumbass.¡± Ah. I let my real thoughts escape. ¡°Dumbass? Me? Hahaha. Stop trying to hide the fact that you¡¯re a brain dead failure who can¡¯t pass your first year here after repeating it endlessly.¡± I let out a sigh and said, ¡°you¡¯re right I¡¯m just an endless repeater, so can you please just leave me alone now?¡± ¡°Whatever loser, but if you ever make snide remarks again you¡¯ll be in for hell.¡± Oh. I¡¯m so scared. Absolutely shaking in my little booties. Especially if I looked at you, I¡¯d rather not think of the consequences. The kids went back to their little bubble world where they revered those phoney heroes. Not long after the bell rang and the door at the front of the room opened and someone who assumed was out teacher walked in. ¡°Hello everyone, I will be the teacher of class 1-F. The failure class as we like to call it.¡± Those were the first words that left his mouth and I was shocked. Failure class? What the hell? What is that supposed to mean? Why am I in the failure class? An outbreak of whispers similarly started up from everyone else in the class. ¡°Failures! Teacher are you supposed to be calling us failures?!¡± ¡°Yes of course. You¡¯ve all gotten in without taking an entrance examination after all. Did you really think there was no reason for that? While you do get to attend this academy, you¡¯re the bottom of the barrel. Complete trash of society. You¡¯re used to set an example for the hard working students. You serve as an incentive for them to work hard to not end up in your position.¡± Well¡ I guess that does make sense. We get to say we attended a well renowned school without any effort to get in but there¡¯s a price attached to it. ¡°You should have already understood what it meant when you were informed what class you were assigned to. Yet despite knowing that you still attended, didn¡¯t you? All for the sake of that small hope of working your way up through the ranks to get to the fabled class of legends 3-S in your final year. The class in which only one student can attend. It is a class only a student who started in class 1-F who overcomes the worst treatment from the school. Well, your dreams will probably be crushed soon enough when reality hits you in the face so don¡¯t get your hopes up. You¡¯re all failures. Delusional dreams like that don¡¯t come true after all.¡± Now this guy knows where it¡¯s at and is speaking my type of language. Forget about that hero nonsense this is much more realistic. Cursing the dreams of children everywhere, what a legend. I somewhat started to idolize this new female teacher of mine. It was a shame I couldn¡¯t look to see who this new found idol of destroying little children¡¯s dreams was. ¡°What the hell! Screw you! I don¡¯t care if you¡¯re our teacher I¡¯ll bash your skull in!¡± ¡°Hoh? You? A weak bottom of the barrel failure wants to bash my skull in? If you can even touch me I¡¯d be willing to recommend you to class 1-A immediately.¡± I don¡¯t care so much about advancing in classes, but if I did it would probably help my job search after graduation. Maybe it wouldn¡¯t be a bad idea to try to move up. Although just the fact I attend this prestigious academy regardless of what class I finish in would probably guarantee me a job. But that idiot who wanted to pick a fight with me earlier really is a meat head with no brains. Getting triggered so badly when he¡¯s on the receiving end of being called a failure. What an idiot. If you attack a teacher aren¡¯t you basically screwed? Won¡¯t you get expelled rather than sent to a better class? ¡°I¡¯ll definitely do it if it means I get to move up the ladder quickly. I¡¯ll become the strongest hero of all time. Forget Unity Man from this morning who¡¯s only the tenth strongest S Ranker. I¡¯ll become number one!¡± ¡°Hahaha! You? Beat Unity Man? Good luck with your naive little dream weakling.¡± Eh? What are these two talking about? Suddenly my teachers stocks plummeted in my mind. Was she also a weirdo who was into the whole fake hero battle thing? Man though this kid sounds like a main protagonist with overly large dreams in a shit tier shounen anime. Why would you want to be number one? Don¡¯t you realize when you become number one at anything it just becomes tedious and tiring with all the responsibility you have to put up with? Just aim low and leave the responsibility to the big guys instead. Kick back and enjoy the small things in life while you can. When you¡¯re at the top you¡¯ll realize how lonely it is without something to chase after. Being too strong is just a pain in the ass since there¡¯s no one left to challenge you. From experience, I¡¯ll have you know, I¡¯ve never lost a fight. Not even once and it¡¯s all because of this absurd one look phenomenon. ¡°I¡¯ll definitely hit you and get moved up to class 1-A!¡± It sounded like the kid had gotten out of his chair. Only a few short seconds later and I heard the sound of someone getting floored. ¡°Ack¡ you bit-¡° ¡°Hoh? What now? What did you want to call me kid?¡± ¡°AHHHHHH! GYAAAH!¡± The sound of his cries immediately followed the sound of a stomp. Man that kid really was all talk. ¡°Please stop. I give up.¡± ¡°Give up? With just that? Tch. As expected if a failure without a spine.¡± A moment later it sounded like a desk had been picked up.The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. ¡°Eat this!¡± ¡°Oh? Didn¡¯t you give up?¡± ¡°Of course not. Even if I have to be underhanded to climb the ladder I¡¯ll do it.¡± ¡°Big words despite how weak you are. Well, since you want to be underhanded I suppose you¡¯ll make do as a chair.¡± What? Uh¡ isn¡¯t this getting a bit too strange? Is this teacher really alright in the head? A clang rang out, there was no sound from the teacher so I was fairly certain she¡¯d avoided it. Man I really wanted to look. I really did. For something like this to happen on my first day here, how could I not want to watch some juicy drama like this unfold? Idiotic student expelled on first day after attacking teacher. Now that¡¯s newsworthy. Not that lame fake hero nonsense everyone likes to get so hyped up over. ¡°What are you doing!¡± ¡°I said it before didn¡¯t I? You¡¯re going to be my chair today. You failed thus you pay for the consequences of your actions. Let this be a life lesson to not bite off more than you can chew when you¡¯re just a weakling with no power to back up your words. I¡¯ll make sure to ingrain the fact that you¡¯re a failure in life into your head over the next year. That is assuming you don¡¯t drop out before that.¡± ¡°I¡¯ll definitely bash your head in before the year is over. I swear it!¡± Man that kid really was an idiot. Good thing I apologized and didn¡¯t get into a fight with him. I wouldn¡¯t want a dog barking up my tree everyday. ¡°Anyways, if anyone else in the class wants to pick a fight feel free to make your move now.¡± ¡°...¡± Only complete silence was returned to her. ¡°Good. It looks like the rest of you have a brain unlike this useless moron. A lot of you are probably secretly plotting to act behind the scenes to scheme against me so you can claw your way up to the top which I commend you for. To be able to evaluate the situation shows you¡¯re not a complete lost cause like this dumbass who wants to brainlessly attack everything head on without a plan.¡± ¡°That being said, you¡¯re all still failures who will not accomplish anything no matter what type of plans you come up with. You will never become heroes, you¡¯re all just the trashy leftover dregs of society nobody wants. Your only use is to motivate the people above you. However, even if you¡¯re all completely useless, as long as you make it to graduation you will be guaranteed a job somewhere just with this academy¡¯s name on your resume. Be grateful and count your blessings that you were accepted to even be part of class 1-F.¡± Wow, this teacher truly held nothing back with verbally degrading her students. Just what kind of school did I enroll in? Is this what public high schools are like too? It¡¯s really a scary world out there like I thought. Maybe that¡¯s why those adults like to avoid seeking out a proper job and rely on donations so they can play pretend to be heroes. That¡¯s definitely a lot easier than working a normal job in the real world. But why did the teacher say we will never become heroes? Why would anyone want to become an unemployed person putting on cheap street performances to get donations? This is just a normal school not some stupid academy that raises those phoney heroes right? Hero academies aren¡¯t real, they only happen in anime. ¡°Teacher, you mentioned something about how we will never become heroes, what did you mean by that?¡± Oh? Someone else was also confused? It was a girl seated right beside me who raised the question. ¡°I¡¯m not understanding your question. It means exactly what I said.¡± ¡°I see. I understand.¡± The girl sounded confused but didn¡¯t follow up. She then mumbled something quietly that I was able to really relate to. ¡°What is with this nonsense about heroes? Everywhere I go it¡¯s the same thing.¡± A comrade? How unexpected. ¡°Well it¡¯s about time we start our proper introductions. As I said I am your teacher just call me Ms. S. that¡¯s what a lot of students have nicknamed me so just stick with that brats.¡± It really sounded like a fitting nickname with her personality. ¡°Starting from the front give your name and reason why you¡¯re a failure.¡± Haha. What did I really expect her to say? Name and hobbies? ¡°My name is-¡° ¡°Never mind forget the name part actually. Names aren¡¯t suitable for failures like those in this class after all. Instead we¡¯ll just call you by students 1 through 30. As of today you¡¯ll be student 1 the person behind you will be 2, the kid at the back is 6, the person to your left is 7 and so on. Do you understand? If by some miracle you get promoted to a class above this one you can have your names. Until then you¡¯re just a number.¡± ¡°You can continue now.¡± ¡°My name is... Student 1.¡± ¡°And you are a failure because?¡± ¡°I am a failure because¡¡± ¡°Go on, don¡¯t stop there.¡± ¡°Because¡¡± ¡°Because what?¡± ¡°I¡¡± ¡°Hmm? Speak!¡± ¡°I don¡¯t know! I don¡¯t know why I¡¯m a failure! I put in a lot of effort to prepare for the exam here, but when I applied I got immediate acceptance! I thought I was special, why am I lumped together with a bunch of failures like them! I¡¯ve always done everything perfectly to a tee. This doesn¡¯t make any sense! There must be a mistake why I¡¯m here!¡± ¡°Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. That is precisely why you¡¯re a failure. You don¡¯t even know why you¡¯ve failed. Until you understand why you¡¯re a failure you¡¯ll always remain as one. I can assure you kid, no one put into this class was a mistake. With one hundred percent certainty you are a failure.¡± Ouch that was harsh. The first student shut their mouth and sat back in their seat. ¡°Next.¡± ¡°I am... student 2. I am apparently also a failure, but I don¡¯t know why.¡± ¡°Next.¡± ¡°Student 3, I am not a failure like all of you useless idiots. I requested to be placed in this class for the sake at a chance at the fabled class 3-S that can only be a student who started out in class 1-F.¡± ¡°Yeah. Yeah. Shut it and make it short. We have an idiot like you every year who thinks he¡¯s hot shit and can reach that position. Stop talking rubbish and sit your ass down.¡± ¡°For the sake of becoming the next strategic S rank hero I¡¯ll definitely reach class 3-S without fail.¡± Again with the hero nonsense? Isn¡¯t that clearly why you¡¯re a failure? Could it be the reason everyone in this class are deemed failures because they want to live lives unemployed off of donations by doing street performances? If that¡¯s true why was I put in this class? It sounds ridiculous. ¡°Student 4. I will definitely become a hero. No matter how many failures I face I¡¯ll make it. If that¡¯s why I¡¯m a failure then so be it.¡± What the hell? So many delusional kids are all in one class. ¡°Student 5. If I could become a hero that would be nice. If I can¡¯t then at least I can put it on my resume that I tried to become one.¡± What the hell? Why would you put something like that on your resume? Wouldn¡¯t you feel too embarrassed? Ah this entire class is making me blush in shame. ¡°Chop. Chop. What are you waiting for? Next student.¡± Ah. That was me. What do I say? ¡°I am Student¡ 6. I am¡ useless which is why I¡¯m a failure. Due to certain reasons I either have my eyes glued to the ground and can¡¯t look at people or I have my eyes completely shut closed. Please don¡¯t ask me to look at you when we¡¯re speaking. It¡¯s troublesome. If possible I¡¯d also like to be left alone. I¡¯d prefer to not talk to any of you as much as possible.¡± You¡¯re all a bunch of weirdos dreaming about unreasonable things like heroes after all. I¡¯d rather not be contaminated with your stupidity. ¡°Haha. Finally a kid who knows why he¡¯s a failure. Not bad. Not bad at all. Good job kid. I have high hopes for you. Next.¡± What? Did that actually get me into her good books? Quiet whispers broke out among the other students. The teacher didn¡¯t pay any attention to it and imposingly repeated herself. ¡°NEXT.¡± Students 7-11 did their introductions. They were more or less all the same. Confusion filled with uncertainty. It wasn¡¯t until Student 12 that something different was said. ¡°Student 12. I have no interest in heroes. I want to become something far more lucrative than a stupid beggar hero who relies on donations. That¡¯s probably why I¡¯m classified as a failure.¡± Oh? To think the girl beside me wasn¡¯t delusional like the other kids who all wanted to become something ridiculous like a make believe hero. At least that was what I thought until I heard her mumble, ¡°I want to become the strongest villainess after all. How could I want to become something stupid like a poverty stricken hero who relies on money from others. With the teacher¡¯s confirmation I¡¯m certain this path can¡¯t be wrong.¡± I let out a frustrated sigh, ¡°another idiot.¡± ¡°Student 6, what did you just say about me?¡± ¡°Nothing, Student 12. I was just mumbling to myself.¡± ¡°You¡¯ll regret your words.¡± ¡°Regret? Sorry, I don¡¯t know the meaning of the word regret.¡± It felt like she was directing a strong glare in my direction, but I didn¡¯t dare look at her. ¡°Don¡¯t you hate yourself and feel like killing yourself now?¡± ¡°Hate myself? I¡¯ve always hated myself. As for killing myself, no thank you.¡± ¡°What? That can¡¯t be right.¡± ¡°Tch. Student 6 and 12 shut your traps and stop quietly bickering back there.¡± We immediately did as instructed. The remaining 18 students finished up their introductions. They were more or less all the same. They eventually just copied each other, too lazy to think about why they were actually deemed failures by the school. ¡°Good, now that that¡¯s over with, we will start our first lesson. You¡¯re all failures, but that doesn¡¯t mean you don¡¯t have a latent hidden ability. Whether you already know what it is or not, you all have one. Everyone does.¡± Like being good at math or arts? ¡°It May be an analytic, practical or support based ability. It may be useless or it may be an overwhelming ability that can trump anyone. In your cases it¡¯s likely the former rather than the latter though.¡± We¡¯re talking about academic ability here, right? ¡°Whatever your superhuman ability may be, don¡¯t think that you¡¯re hot stuff and let it get to your head. You were put in 1-F for a reason after all.¡± No¡ not the teacher as well. Even she is a fan of this whole fake superhero nonsense? Just how ridiculous is this world? Why is everyone a weirdo obsessed with these ridiculous nonexistent things? This is the worst. Should I just transfer to another school or something? Ugh. Even if I do, I''ll still be surrounded by these types of delusional idiots. Relax me. I just need to stay calm and make it through these next three years and I¡¯ll be set for a job after graduation. Im sure when I¡¯m in the workforce this ridiculous nonsense about heroes will go away. The teacher continued with her lecture about hero related garbage for an hour before she got bored and left. She just said we could do whatever we wanted until the bell rang at the end of the day. She told us to use the time to reflect and figure out why we were failures. I was actually shocked by how little she cared about educating us. When she left, the class was dead silent. I don¡¯t think anybody truly thought she¡¯d just leave out of nowhere like that after only an hour in. The only person who rejoiced out loud was the human chair, Student 17, she¡¯d sat on for an hour. That idiot didn¡¯t know how to read the air at all and started to bad mouth Ms. S. the second she left. ¡°I¡¯m definitely going to kill that horrible wench.¡± ¡°Hahaha. Sure you are. I bet you enjoyed the soft plump sensation on your back for the last hour. I saw that face of regret you had the moment she got up. Don¡¯t try and hide it.¡± ¡°Shut up man. That¡¯s not true at all. I wouldn¡¯t enjoy such humiliation. I¡¯ll definitely make her grovel at my feet one day and beg for my forgiveness in the future when I¡¯m an S rank hero.¡± Since the teacher was already gone and I already had her approval as to why I was a failure I figured I¡¯d just leave. There was no point sticking around to get chummy with idiots. It seemed I wasn¡¯t the only one who thought that way. At the corner of my eye when I got up from my chair, the girl beside me had also stood up. She immediately sat back down when she noticed I stood up though. Like she found it humiliating to have the same thought process as me. I couldn¡¯t look at her face to confirm it, but I was nearly certain she thought something along those lines. I exited the classroom, but as soon as I turned the corner I blinked for just a second before I bumped into someone. I instinctively kept my eyes shut. That was way too close for comfort. If I even saw a portion of their body things would have turned out badly for me. ¡°You have the guts to leave so soon, Student 6? I¡¯m honestly surprised.¡± ¡°Ms. S? Didn¡¯t you leave already?¡± ¡°No. I was just waiting to see which fool would dare disobey my instructions to wait for the bell first. Now, why do you have your eyes closed like that?¡± ¡°I can¡¯t bear to sully your body with my impure eyes.¡± ¡°Haha. Well that¡¯s an acceptable answer, it would be rather unpleasant to be looked at that way by a kid with the appearance of an old, bearded, half baldy.¡± ¡°Now why would a half bald kid like you dare to have the guts to disobey my instructions?¡± ¡°I needed to use the toilet.¡± ¡°If it means obeying my instructions then you should just wet yourself.¡± ¡°I can¡¯t do that. If my important beautiful teacher had to return to the classroom and smell the awful odor of urine I wouldn¡¯t be able to live with myself.¡± ¡°Give me one good reason why I should turn you into my chair tomorrow?¡± ¡°Because Student 17 called you a horrible old wench.¡± ¡°Oh did he now. Hehe. Not bad. To sell out your own classmate so easily. You have the ability to go places.¡± ¡°Please don¡¯t call that thing my classmate. It¡¯s extremely unpleasant.¡± Chapter 2. My Roommate and the Visitor at Night ¡°Yes, that thing really was unpleasant. I¡¯ll let you off this time for providing me with that piece of information. Just a little heads up, tomorrow will be physical lessons so you should be prepared.¡± ¡°Physical lessons¡ you mean physical education, right?¡± ¡°Well I guess you could call it that. For the failures in class 1-F normal education doesn¡¯t quite cut it. Only by physically engraving practical knowledge into their bodies will they learn.¡± ¡°Right¡ but isn¡¯t it a bit soon for physical education?¡± ¡°For other classes that is the case, but not for 1-F. I look forward to seeing how you perform tomorrow. Hahaha.¡± After that, I immediately took my leave. I wanted to check out the dorms first to ensure my lodging was secured. Today would be my first time living in a dorm on campus. This academy didn¡¯t allow you to commute from home. Our bare necessities would be picked up and delivered from our homes. I was a little excited at the thought of a dorm life. I just hoped my roommate would be a normal person. Although it would be a bit inconvenient if someone was living in the same room as me. If I looked at them¡ if they were a guy I¡¯d have to start sleeping outdoors. Hah¡ why me? To be safe I should always have my eyes shut when I¡¯m at the dorm. When I arrived at the dorm I was thankfully the only one around as everyone was still in class. I found my room and opened it up by scanning my student ID card. I knocked on the door while looking at the ground. ¡°Excuse me is anyone here?¡± There was thankfully no response. It was best to be cautious. Inside the room were two beds on the left and right. A closet, two tables and chairs, and unopened boxes on both sides of the room. One set belonged to me while the other belonged to my roommate. The room was very cramped with barely any space. I guess it was too expected though. Based upon what our teacher said we were probably given the worst rooms. There wasn¡¯t even a shower, sink, fridge, microwave or anything. I really wondered what the rooms for other classrooms were like. There was only a single window between the two beds that let light into the room. I tried to flip the switch for the lights¡ they didn¡¯t turn on. There was no power. Isn¡¯t this a bit too much? I felt worse and worse the more I saw. The discrimination towards classs 1-F was pretty clear if it was this bad. Failures, was it? If the treatment is this bad it definitely does seem like a good motivation for students in classes above ours to work hard. ¡°Haaah. To think this would be how I start my life in this academy. What did I really expect though? I got a free pass with no examination. This much should be expected for someone who got the easy way in I guess.¡± I accepted the situation immediately and unpacked my stuff. I didn¡¯t really have too much to do. Just clothes and the bare essentials. My roommate was the complete opposite though. They had about 12 boxes on their side of the room compared to my 2 boxes. It didn¡¯t take long to put away my things on my side of the room. When I finished unpacking, I figured I¡¯d go on a little adventure and explore the campus a bit. There wasn¡¯t anything exciting about the dorm life when it was just you by yourself in the dorm room after all. I turned around and headed to the door. When I opened the door, as I figured it was just me in the dorm at the moment, my guard was completely lowered. I wanted to commit the new environment to memory as well so when the door opened I was looking at the ground. What was behind the door¡ a girl my age. Long black hair down to her waist. Deep pitch black eyes. Petite pink lips. Fair white skin contrasting against her black skirt and vest. She had a surprised face that mirrored my own. I immediately shut the door without a single word. I¡¯m seeing things. Definitely. There¡¯s no way anyone could be there. Especially not a girl. I put the chain on, turned away and returned to my bed. If there was a girl there, then I¡¯m in some deep shit. It¡¯s my first day here and I¡¯ve already made a gigantic blunder. When was the last time I looked at somebody¡ excluding the macho dude I ran away from before school? It¡¯s been about a year hasn¡¯t it? On the previous occasion it happened at my old school. I got curious about why all the boys fawned over some girl so I took a peak once. It was just a single glance in secret. The next day, I found her after class doing extremely inappropriate things in my seat in class. I immediately transferred schools based upon my past experience with how infatuated they would become. To this date, excluding my parents who this strange one look phenomenon doesn¡¯t seem to affect, I have looked at a total of 6 people in my 16 years of life excluding today. That number excludes any phoney heroes or villains I¡¯ve looked at over the years that became useless whenever I looked at them. However, today I¡¯ve added 2 people to that list, assuming that girl was real and not a figment of my imagination. If things keep going like this, aren¡¯t I pretty screwed? As for the first five people I looked at¡ ugh I don¡¯t want to remember. The first was a friend when I was an infant. I changed an infant¡¯s sexual orientation¡ from the bottom of my heart I wish that was just some sick twisted joke. My parents home schooled me from that point on until I was old enough to be fully aware of what a single look from me could do. The second one was that famous actress on TV. My parents really freaked out that time as well, similar to how I had. The third time was a bully that I got into a fight with in elementary school. I had to transfer to another school after that fight. The fourth was a bully in middle school. I had to transfer again. After this occurrence rumours followed me from my old schools and anyone who saw me coming who were about to engage in a fight would immediately flee in all directions. The fifth was a girl I developed feelings towards. She was an extreme stalker though, so I had to move again. The sixth time I¡¯d learned my lesson and before anything serious happened I immediately informed my parents and we moved. My entire childhood was ruined because of this stupid one look phenomenon. With the macho weirdo from earlier today it should be fine since he was a stranger and doesn¡¯t know where to find me, but if this eighth person, this girl, is real, I might be in big trouble. I swear to god I took precautions by making myself look as unattractive as possible for the sake of avoiding this. Less people would stick around someone that looked like me, they would even avoid me like the plague which would make my life easier. There have been times in my life where I¡¯ve contemplated pouring acid in my eyes or having them removed altogether, but living a life completely devoid of sight was too scary to imagine. To be able to conquer anyone with one look was just too much of a burden. Beep. What? I was confused by the sound of the ID scanner on the door that went off. It opened up but was caught on the chain. ¡°Hey you bearded half bald moron, what are you doing in my room?¡± So she was real after all¡ but¡ what is the meaning of this? I clearly looked at her directly, for her to refer to me like this¡ is strange. ¡°What do you mean your room? This is my room.¡± ¡°What? Are you crazy? Why would this room be yours? How did you get in, half baldy?¡± ¡°With my student ID of course.¡± ¡°My student ID also let me open the door¡ you¡¯re not telling me you¡¯re supposed to be my roommate¡ are you?¡± ¡°That can¡¯t be possible, there¡¯s probably just a mistake with the room assignments. You should go check with the dorm advisor.¡± ¡°Me? Why should I be the one to check? You go check.¡± ¡°You should go check because I¡¯m the one in the position of power inside the room. I can just go to sleep while you¡¯re locked outside without anywhere to go.¡± ¡°What will you do about food if I stall you out?¡± ¡°There¡¯s a window I can have friends throw me food through.¡± ¡°Don¡¯t lie, you don¡¯t have friends. You made that pretty obvious with that introduction of yours in class.¡± ¡°In class? We¡¯re in the same class? Ah. Now that you mention it your voice¡ you¡¯re that delusional weird girl in the seat beside me who wants to be the strongest villainess (lol).¡± ¡°Y-y-you heard that?¡± She sounded flustered when she said that. ¡°Yeah.¡± ¡°Shut up! If you tell anyone about that I¡¯ll make your life a living hell!¡± ¡°I don¡¯t really care whether you want to be some fake hero or villain, but I do have one serious question for you.¡± ¡°What is it?¡± ¡°You¡¯re not infatuated with me or anything right now, are you?¡± ¡°In¡ fatuated with¡ you? Did the lonliness if being a bearded gal bald old man make you lose a few screws? Why in the hell would I feel that way about a loser like you?¡± ¡°Really? You feel nothing at all for me?¡± ¡°It¡¯s not that I feel nothing. Right now in particular I want to rip out your throat for even questioning whether I¡¯d be interested in you.¡± I was so surprised that I immediately unhooked the chain and took another good look at her. In a nutshell she was absolutely gorgeous. Even after staring at her like this, she showed no sign of submissiveness like everyone else I¡¯d looked at. Why? ¡°About time you opened the door. Get out of the way, I want to make sure you didn¡¯t snoop through my stuff. A perverted old man who¡¯s failed to pass first year like you would surely try something sketchy.¡± ¡°Uh¡ I may be half bald, but I¡¯m not an old man you know.¡± ¡°Like I¡¯d believe that.¡± ¡°It¡¯s really true though. There are certain reasons why I maintain this appearance.¡± ¡°You¡¯re not going to try boasting that you¡¯re too attractive if you were to try and everyone would grovel at your feet lining up for miles to try and be with you, are you?¡± ¡°Uh¡ you¡¯re kind of right in a way I guess.¡± ¡°Tch. So your true identity is that of an old narcissistic bearded half bald flunkie?¡± ¡°Can you stop appending additional unnecessary words to how you address me?¡± ¡°If you miraculously pass many years after I graduate and somehow become a low rank super hero one day I¡¯ll ensure that will be your super hero name.¡± ¡°Super hero? What¡¯s with everyone trying to be play pretend heroes in our class anyways?¡± ¡°I don¡¯t know. They¡¯re all just a bunch of weirdos.¡± ¡°Right? I can admit villains are a thing as police deal with villainous individuals who perform acts of arson, robbery, and terrorism; however, super heroes are clearly just a sham.¡± ¡°Right? Super heroes are all just poverty stricken weirdos running about trying to get a spot in the limelight. There are no true super heroes these days. They¡¯re all fighting for glory so they can receive more donations as they become more popular.¡± ¡°Oh? We surprisingly agree on something. There are no super heroes.¡± ¡°Exactly. You know you¡¯re not so hard to get along with despite your shabby appearance.¡± I couldn¡¯t remember the last time I was able to look at someone who wasn¡¯t one of my parents while talking to them face to face. If it was her who was my roommate I would be fine with it. ¡°Anyways, Student 6, was it? We should still check with the dorm advisor to clear up this mistake. Even if I can somehow get along with you sharing a room is still an absolute no go.¡± ¡°Yeah. You¡¯re right.¡± When she confirmed her boxes were unopened we left the room and found the dorm advisor in his office. Knox. Knock. When we got his attention with the knock on his door he glanced up at the both of us then sighed like he knew what we were there for. Before we could say anything, not wasting any time, he beat us to the chase and said, ¡°for you to seek me out so quickly before classes have ended, you must be the unlucky odd one out boy girl duo that are sharing a room.¡± ¡°You expected us?¡± ¡°Yeah more or less. Administration messed up and all the rooms were filled but by the time they realized it they had enrolled an odd number of boys and girls. Thus you were the two unlucky fellows that ended up together.¡±Unauthorized usage: this tale is on Amazon without the author''s consent. Report any sightings. ¡°Can¡¯t anything be done about this? I absolutely don¡¯t want to share a room with someone that looks like him.¡± ¡°If you can find someone who¡¯d be willing to read rooms with you feel free to. Unfortunately as you¡¯re in class 1-F and you were assigned the worst room of the lot as the leftover last two it¡¯s unlikely anyone will trade with you.¡± ¡°Hey is there an empty janitor¡¯s room or something around? I can just leave my stuff in the room and sleep in the janitor¡¯s room instead. I¡¯d much rather that then to stay in the same room as him.¡± Am I that repulsive? Should I feel insulted right now? She glanced in my direction like I owed her money or something. Wait, did she expect me to chime in and take the janitor¡¯s room in her place? ¡°Well it¡¯s not that we don¡¯t have one, I suppose if you¡¯re fine with that I can give you a key.¡± ¡°Great.¡± She took the key from the dorm advisor before we returned back to our room. ¡°You¡¯re actually planning to sleep in the janitor¡¯s room?¡± ¡°Of course not. I was hoping you¡¯d have some sort of manly pride and would say something just now, but what¡¯s with you? Are you even a man?¡± ¡°Don¡¯t try that crap. Why should I give up the room just because you¡¯re a woman?¡± ¡°Because it¡¯s common courtesy to do so.¡± ¡°I refuse. I¡¯m absolutely not doing that. You¡¯re just going to have to share the room with me or seriously sleep in the janitor¡¯s closet.¡± ¡°How about we meet each other halfway? We¡¯ll alternate days we sleep in each room. That should be fair, right?¡± ¡°Well if you¡¯re fine with that I guess I don¡¯t mind compromising to that extent.¡± ¡°Good.¡± ¡°I¡¯m a guy, but are you really going to be able to manage in the janitor¡¯s room?¡± ¡°It¡ should be fine... probably. As long as there are no rats or cockroaches... it should be fine.¡± ¡°Oh? For someone who wants to be the strongest villainess could it be you aren¡¯t good with those sorts of things?¡± ¡°Be quiet. I¡¯m p-p-perfectly f-fine with rats and cockroaches.¡± ¡°Is that really the truth though?¡± ¡°Of course it¡¯s the truth. Do you think I¡¯m a liar?¡± ¡°Yeah. Of course. All women are natural born liars.¡± After a short journey we arrived in front of the janitor¡¯s room. She unlocked it with the key, opened the door, and the moment she lifted one foot to step inside something crawled towards her in the direct path of where her foot would land. She wasn¡¯t looking at the ground, but I was out of habit, so I naturally saw everything. Her foot landed directly on top of it and trapped its body against the ground. She froze in place clearly unwilling to lift her foot, raise it away, or look down to see what it was. I¡¯ve never seen a cockroach that looked so happy to be stepped on in my life. I couldn¡¯t help but picture some sort of weird masochistic cockroach begging to be stepped on. Honest to god that critter was like the Flash on his way to the supermarket bargain sale on meat. ¡°H-hey¡ half baldy, what exactly did I step on?¡± ¡°Do you really want to know?¡± ¡°Not really, but I feel like if I don¡¯t find out and I make one wrong move I¡¯ll be faced with man¡¯s worst enemy.¡± ¡°You mean a cockroach?¡± ¡°Yeah.¡± ¡°I thought you said you weren¡¯t scared of them?¡± ¡°I-I¡¯m not.¡± ¡°Then lift your other foot and take another step.¡± ¡°Not until you confirm what I stepped on.¡± ¡°Haaah. You¡¯re such a kid.¡± I crouched down and pinched at the sides from behind the cockroach. ¡°You can lift you leg now. It¡¯s fine.¡± She did as I said and simultaneously looked down. Her jaw hung down low in horror and disgust as she moved back slowly until her back was against the wall. ¡°Gross. Eww. Eww. Gross. Yuck. I stepped on it. He¡¯s just casually holding it. Eww. I think I¡¯m going to be sick.¡± The little critter was rattling its body and wiggling its legs back and forth trying to escape from between my fingers. It was too bad for it that I wasn¡¯t grossed out by insects. ¡°What are you so disgusted for? It¡¯s just a little cockroach. It can hardly even hurt you yet you¡¯re treating it like the plague. Even insects can have their feelings hurt.¡± Actually, probably not. This little guy seems like a suicidal masochist to be honest. ¡°What are you doing! Hurry up and kill it already!¡± ¡°Kill it? It¡¯s just a harmless little insect. Besides that, isn¡¯t it kind of cute?¡± ¡°Cute? Did your mother drop you on your head as a child?¡± ¡°Did you want me to let it go?¡± ¡°Sorry! It was my mistake. I was wrong! Anything but that!¡± ¡°Haha. Really? Anything you say?¡± I moved closer to her with the little guy in hand. Her face grew paler with each step. I squatted down in front of her and said, ¡°then just forget about the whole take turns sharing the janitor¡¯s closet. We¡¯ll just suck it up and deal with the fact we¡¯re sharing the room. If it¡¯s your privacy you¡¯re concerned about just put up a divider in the room. If you want to disagree then you¡¯ll have to spend half of your school nights sleeping in the same room as this little guy¡¯s family instead of me.¡± ¡°Fine. It¡¯s fine! We¡¯ll sleep together- I mean in the same room.¡± ¡°Despite wanting to become the strongest villain, you¡¯ve surprisingly got a cute side to you.¡± ¡°Just shut up and get that thing away from me!¡± ¡°As you wish princess scaredy cat.¡± ¡°P-p-princess scaredy cat?!¡± ¡°Yeah.¡± I got up and tossed the poor little guy back into the janitor¡¯s room and heartlessly locked it. I might have been seeing things when I threw it, but I could have sworn time slowed down while a certain Celine Dion song from Titanic started to play in my head. I shook my head to refute the absurd thought. I¡¯d definitely watched too many anime growing up as a kid. ¡°I absolutely, will definitely remember this! You better sleep with one eye open from now on.¡± ¡°Are you planning a night raid on me when I¡¯m defenseless? To think you were such a lewd woman.¡± ¡°Hmmp! I¡¯m leaving.¡± With frustration written all over her face I stared at her retreating figure in the distance. Being able to look at someone in the eyes when we talk is a completely foreign feeling to me. Deep down I might have felt overjoyed for the first time in a long time in my short 16 years of life. For someone outside my parents to act normal with me after looking at them, she was certainly the first. This was the most I¡¯d ever interacted with anyone in the past 16 years. I felt rejuvenated, excited even. Why was she different from the rest though? Could it be she experiences a strange phenomenon similar to mine? Could it be hers can cancel mine out somehow? If that¡¯s the case, then if it¡¯s with her, would I be able to actually raise my head and take a good look at this world? No. I shouldn¡¯t get my hopes up. She could just be hiding it well. Or maybe she¡¯s just randomly immune or something. Still though. This marked the first day in my life that I didn¡¯t dominate someone with a single look. I felt strangely rejoiceful about it. No wait, was it really because of her? What if this one look curse was lifted at some point and I never realized it? Wait! What if I unconsciously gained control over the phenomenon instead? That¡¯s it! That must be it! I¡¯ve never had the guts to try and see if the phenomenon could be controlled. The cost of one failure was to move to a new school after all. Surely I¡¯ve gained control over it by now. I need someone to be a lab rat for me. Are there any televisions around the dorms? I scoured all over the seemingly empty dorm, but it was to no avail. At some point I¡¯d even gotten myself lost without realizing it. Looking at the ground all the time really made it difficult to get around. I always had to confirm that nobody was in the vicinity before I could check the area for a TV. I listened carefully as I was about to turn a corner. I didn¡¯t hear any footsteps; however, unlike with previous occasions I bumped into someone that silently turned the corner. I wasn¡¯t fast enough closing my eyes this time. I saw long blazing red hair before I could shut my eyes. Why are there so many unlucky encounters like this today? The two of us fell backwards after the collision. I nervously stood back up with my eyes closed. ¡°Sorry, are you okay?¡± ¡°...¡± There was no response. Just silence. ¡°I¡¯m really sorry I wasn¡¯t looking where I was going. I got lost in the dorms and I was trying to find my room.¡± ¡°...¡± I extended my hand out towards their direction to help them up. I was left hanging. I stepped forward and used my foot to feel the area in front of me where they fell. They were¡ gone? I opened one eye ever so slightly and confirmed there was nothing there. Did they run away? So quickly without making a single noise? It was only her hair I saw, right? It should be safe to say that I¡¯m in the clear, isn¡¯t it? I truly hoped from the bottom of my heart that was the case. After this accident I carefully made my way through the dorm. I retraced my steps and eventually got back to my room. I was too nervous to explore the campus any more today with how bad my luck had been so far today. All I wanted was a television but I came back empty handed. When I opened the door, my roommate was nowhere to be found. It seemed that she hadn¡¯t returned yet. After I spent all that time wandering through the dorm and running to get to class on time to avoid being late this morning I was much more tired than usual. I decided to call it a day and I jumped onto the bed. I dove under the sheet, covered my head and fell asleep not long after. ¡ ¡°Hah. Hah. Hah.¡± A some point I was awoken and heard ragged pants from the other side of my sheets. I felt the weight of two hands pressing down on my chest. I felt two soft sensations beside my waist. I was certain someone was on top of me on the bed. No way. Was my roommate actually affected after all? Aside from faculty I doubt anyone else could have gotten into the room aside from her. Shit. What do I do? ¡°Hey can you please get off of me.¡± ¡°Hah. Hah. Hah. Hah.¡± That was the only response I received. She lowered her head and rested it on my chest with only the thin sheet separating us. She slid her hand up from my chest and hooked it around my neck through the sheets. ¡°Look, Student 12 we can talk about this. Also, your chest is pressing against me. Can you just get off me for now? ¡± So I can run far away from this room and never come back. Beep. Beep? What do you mean beep? Someone else is entering the room? ¡°Student 12, please get off me someone¡¯s coming in.¡± ¡°What the hell are you doing you pervert!¡± Why is Student 12¡¯s voice coming from the door when¡ no way. You¡¯re not really telling me the one on top of me is actually a faculty member¡ The sheets were immediately pulled off of me. The infiltrator skillfully wrapped themselves in the sheet then opened the window and jumped out of it. Wait¡ she jumped out the window? This is the second floor though. I immediately got off the bed and looked outside the window. Gone. Whoever it had been was nowhere to be found. ¡°If you¡¯re going to invite someone over to do that sort of thing at least give me some warning you perverted beast.¡± ¡°With my appearance does it really look like I have the capability to randomly bring someone to my room to do what you¡¯re thinking?¡± ¡°Ah. You¡¯re right. Did you actually drug them or something?¡± ¡°Of course not! I don¡¯t even know who that was. Did you recognize who it was?¡± ¡°It was too dark so I couldn¡¯t really tell.¡± ¡°Aren¡¯t you too inattentive to become the world¡¯s strongest villain?¡± ¡°Shut up. I don¡¯t want to hear that from a pervert like you.¡± ¡°Like I said, I had nothing to do with that. I actually thought it was you who¡¯d lost control and decided to pay me a night visit in bed.¡± ¡°Like hell I¡¯d ever do that with a frog.¡± ¡°I¡¯m a frog in your eyes?¡± ¡°Definitely.¡± ¡°Isn¡¯t that a bit too mean?¡± ¡°To the frogs? Hmm. You might be right. I might be insulting frogs by calling you one. Even frogs can turn into princes, as for you? Heh.¡± ¡°Heh? What¡¯s with that heh? Don¡¯t just look at me like I¡¯m the lowest life form you¡¯ve ever seen.¡± ¡°You aren¡¯t?¡± ¡°Why are you acting so surprised now? No. Forget it. What¡¯s most important is who that person was. Do you really have no idea?¡± ¡°The only thing I could vaguely distinguish was the outline of her body. All I can tell you based upon that was that she was definitely attractive.¡± ¡°By the way, why are you coming back so late? Its already late into the night.¡± ¡°I thought if I came back after you fell asleep I would feel more reassured that I wouldn¡¯t be assaulted when I went to bed.¡± ¡°Look I definitely have no interest in doing that so could you just relax? It will be a nuisance if you do that every night.¡± ¡°What have you been doing anyways?¡± ¡°Is that any of your business?¡± ¡°Not really. No. I¡¯m just a bit curious.¡± ¡°Well since you¡¯re the fool who chose to come back to the dorms without any plans you¡¯ve already failed. The teacher leaving us to our own devices was for a purpose. It was so people in the class could form groups and get to associate with one another. I went around locating former students who were previously in class 1-F asking if there was any significance to it.¡± ¡°Apparently the second day will be a grueling test that will require people to come together and put aside their differences to overcome various obstacles. It¡¯s said that there have been students in class 1-F that have died on the second day of classes.¡± ¡°Died! Are you kidding me!¡± ¡°Those are just rumors. They¡¯re probably spread just to scare students in the classes above 1-F. The people I asked said they¡¯d never actually witnessed anyone die.¡± ¡°What did you do after finding this out?¡± ¡°Naturally when I found this out I went back to class to rally a few pawns I could use. If I divide the class between sides and make half of them hate the other half it¡¯s really too easy to form a group around myself.¡± ¡°Wow you really are a terrible villain.¡± ¡°Of course I am. You better not tell anyone ever or you¡¯ll wish you were never born.¡± ¡°Who would even believe me if I told them that? Does it look like anyone would trust the words of someone that looks like me?¡± ¡°Probably not, but it¡¯s better to be safe than sorry. Anyway, tomorrow don¡¯t come anywhere near me. I¡¯d rather nobody thinks we¡¯re buddy buddy when we¡¯re not.¡± ¡°Yeah. Yeah. I¡¯ll do that. Don¡¯t worry. I¡¯ve always done that.¡± ¡°By the way, what did you do to divide the class like that and make them hate each other?¡± ¡°That¡¯s a trade secret.¡± ¡°It wouldn¡¯t be something stupid like you looked at them and they started to hate each other or something like that, right?¡± ¡°... of course not. Why would you think that?¡± ¡°Why did you hesitate to answer just now? You also sound a bit nervous.¡± ¡°I¡¯m not nervous. I just can¡¯t believe how ridiculous your guess is.¡± ¡°Is it really ridiculous though? Didn¡¯t you ask me this before? ¡®Don¡¯t you hate yourself and feel like killing yourself now?¡¯¡± ¡°Did I say that? I don¡¯t really remember too well.¡± ¡°Normally I¡¯d think it was a nonsense theory as well, but if I think about it more carefully¡¡± ¡°What do you mean by that?¡± ¡°It¡¯s nothing. Forget I said anything.¡± If she could make people hate people by looking at them it might make sense why when I look at her nothing happens. If I looked at someone she would probably be able to counteract it by looking at them if she was able to make people hate each other with a single glance. It¡¯s the exact opposite phenomenon that happens when I look at people. Could they be superpowers? Nah. Superheroes don¡¯t exist after all. There¡¯s surely some sort of logical explanation for the phenomenon. ¡°Student 6, I¡¯m going to bed. Please make sure to reign in your desires and not pounce on me while I¡¯m asleep.¡± ¡°I¡¯m naturally not going to do that. I¡¯ll be out for the night anyway. There¡¯s no way I can sleep comfortably when someone who¡¯s identity I¡¯m not certain of can freely enter the room whenever they want.¡± ¡°Is that so? Good. Shoo. Shoo. I can sleep in peace if that¡¯s the case. I¡¯ll be putting the chain on so don¡¯t come back tonight.¡± If the person can jump out a window and disappear in an instant I doubt that flimsy chain would stop that person from getting in. ¡°See you tomorrow in class, Student 12.¡± ¡°Student 6, I¡¯d rather not. Seeing you is unpleasant.¡±
