《Young Saviour》 Chapter 1: A Simple River. Floating High, high above Mundus, completely shrouded within snow white mists and near impossible to find nor detect by those on the surface, lives a floating island. A utopia separated from the world below and made up of many different biomes. Within, a simple river, twisting and turning like a dragon but clear and calm, reflecting the beauty of the heavens. Dewy grass lines the riverbanks as the sun just rises over the cliff faces that surround the valley the river is located within. A disharmony of sounds, most belonged to birds and fish jumping in and out of the water, brightened up the banks, and were accompanied by the rustling of the leaves and branches of the treetops by the gust of the wind. The sun had only just begun to rise and died the normally snow-white mists with a brilliant golden colour creating a brilliant spectacle few would get to enjoy within their lives. A gentle but swift breeze, distinct from all the others, began to form and then just as easily disappeared, replaced by a young boy. The boy was about 12 years old and slightly smaller than average height for his age, he had an average build but if a skilled warrior was to observe him closely, they would see that his body had been tempered from extensive training from an incredibly young age. He had emerald green eyes with a slight serpentine slit and a mixture of black and white hair atop his head, coiling around his right arm was a strange tattoo that illustrates a bright green serpent with two giant bird wings. Dressed in black pants and an ordinary white Polo shirt that you could buy from any ordinary clothes store and a shining emerald green jacket that reached just below his knees and was adorned with golden leaves floating within the wind. The boy showed little expression as he lowered down a bucket to collect some water. ¡°chirp, chirp, chirp¡± cried a bird causing the boy to look up. The bird was flying erratically, left and right, up and down all around him, constantly chirping to get his attention. ¡°Something is wrong?¡± states the boy as he looks at the bird. The boy simply closed his eyes before a pair of majestic rainbow-coloured bird wings emerges from his back. With a single giant wingbeat, the boy ascended to the same height as the erratic bird and within seconds, they were flying, rushing through the wind with great haste, it wasn¡¯t long before they arrived at their destination. At the base of a great oak tree lay a wounded bird, one of its wings broken and unable to fly while a snake was inching closer with every second. The boy didn¡¯t waste any time, he dived straight towards the injured bird and with another giant wingbeat, kicked up a slight dust cloud before landing in front of the snake. ¡°I¡¯m sorry, you¡¯ll have to find your breakfast elsewhere, this bird still has things it needs to do,¡± The boy said to the snake in a calming tone that caused the snake to freeze where it lay, looking up towards a branch of the tree, a nest lay, with three eggs sitting within. The snake followed the boy''s gaze and saw the nest, for a few seconds, there was silence, the snake silently staring at the boy before it slithered away. The boy seeing this, directed his gaze back towards the injured bird, drawing a strange symbol in the air with his finger, it lingers in the air for a split second before scattering into a million smaller lights and entering the injured bird¡¯s body. The flying bird seeing this started to chirp in alarm and worry but the boy simply looked up towards the bird.Stolen story; please report. ¡°It¡¯s ok, those lights won¡¯t hurt your mate, they¡¯re to help me figure out how to heal her,¡± The boy says towards the bird, calming it down. It takes a few seconds but suddenly, some slight sections of the injured bird''s wing suddenly light up. ¡°Fractured bone and slight muscle tear on the left-wing, should heal on its own if given enough time, but I think I can help out with that,¡± the boy says before picking up the injured bird, ¡°healing Light.¡± A small orb surrounds the bird''s broken wing before a bright flash of light erupts. As the light dies down, the happy chirps of a bird could be heard as the injured bird lifts off the boy¡¯s hand and meet the other bird in the air, no signs of a previous injury. A slight smile emerges on the boy¡¯s face before he flies away, it takes mere moments before he arrives back at the river and resumes his job of collecting water. Once the bucket was full, a distinct gentle breeze encircled the boy and the bucket before he suddenly disappeared. At the base of the biggest tree anyone could imagine, sat a small wooden cottage, a bit run down but overall in good condition with a nice garden. The boy suddenly appeared in the front garden and went to walk inside when the door suddenly flung open and a human-sized missile flew towards him. ¡°BIG BROTHER ZUMA!¡± shouted the missile as it latched onto the boy like a baby koala, knocking him down and causing the water bucket to go flying into the air. The loud thud attracts the attention of someone within the house, as the person reaches the door, she noticed what was going on and sighed. ¡°Lily, why don¡¯t you get off Zuma and allow him to bring the water inside,¡± said the person at the door. As soon as she hears those, the little missile unattached herself and allowed Zuma to stand. The missiles true form was that of an adorable little angel, or at least that¡¯s what people would think if they saw her. About 9 years old, in a cute ice blue one-piece dress, straight long black hair that reached below her waist, large Amethyst purple eyes and a mysterious intelligent yet still childish aura surrounding her. ¡°It¡¯s fine Quetzalcoatl,¡± The boy says as he turns his gaze towards the women standing at the door A strikingly sexy beauty stood at the door, with a flawless hourglass figure, she wore Amazonia style clothes that revealed way too much of her flawless skin, emerald green snake eyes and long black hair reached down to just below her knees and perfectly framed her face. She was Quetzalcoatl, Ancient Mesoamerican God of Wind, Rain, Light, mercy, justice, Learning, Agriculture, creation, the morning sun and many others, her true form is that of a primordial feathered serpent or dragon that embodies the duality of the heavens and the earth. Zuma is also Quetzalcoatl¡¯s Proxy. ¡°Geez, Zuma, you spoil her too much,¡± the women at the door says as she motions the two kids to enter the cottage but just when Zuma was about to enter the door, she gives him a light tap on the shoulder and points upwards, ¡°would you mind bringing that down?¡± Zuma turns and looks at where Quetzalcoatl was pointing and noticed, floating in mid-air was the bucket he had used to collect water. ¡°Oh, right, sorry, forgot about it,¡± Zuma said before giving a slight wave of his hand, only for the bucket to start falling fast. Zuma rushes forwards and catches the bucket but when he looks inside, at least half of the water was missing, it was only at this time that Zuma noticed some wet patches on the ground that weren¡¯t there previously. He started walking back to the door when an immense feeling of weight suddenly came over him, his whole body felt like he was carrying a huge heavy boulder and with every step, the weight just increased. By the time he reached the door, it felt like he was carrying a mountain on his back but with trembling hands, he handed Quetzalcoatl the bucket, he takes maybe two more steps before falling unconscious with a loud thud. Quetzalcoatl notices this and reacts quickly, she picked him up and with a single step, appeared before a bed that was on the other side of the cottage, she quickly placed him down and was about to leave the room when the door suddenly opened and Lily came rushing in. Slightly pale and with tears in her eyes, she just couldn¡¯t stay still as she looked all around the room. ¡°Lily, calm down, Zuma just fainted, he¡¯s not in any danger,¡± Quetzalcoatl says, startling the worried little girl, she turns and looks at Quetzalcoatl before rushing into her embrace. ¡°But, but, I heard a loud thud and, and¡± ¡°And don¡¯t you remember about what I told you, this room is special, it can help heal your big brother Zuma whenever he uses his ability incorrectly,¡± Quetzalcoatl says while stroking Lily¡¯s hair in an attempt to calm her down. ¡°So, so, big brother Zuma won¡¯t die?¡± Lily mutters in a hurried tone causing Quetzalcoatl to smile ¡°Of course, he won¡¯t, there¡¯s no way he would die and leave his cute little sister behind, but we have to let the room do its job,¡± Quetzalcoatl says while trying to guide Lily towards the door. Lily seemed reluctant to leave but with Quetzalcoatl¡¯s reassurance that Zuma was in no trouble, slowly exited the room. As soon as they exited the room, Quetzalcoatl turned around and looked at the unconscious Zuma, a slight frown emerging before she shuts the door. Chapter 2: Disscusion A calm and peaceful night, zero clouds in the sky to obstruct the marvellous spectacle of the natural night sky. Floating against this backdrop was a floating island and Sitting on the edge of a cliff at the very edge of the floating island was an old man. This old man was the picturesque image of a sage, dressed in a black and gold attire that matched his image perfectly, grey hair and a matching coloured beard sat atop a fine, time-worn face, deep black eyes that seemed like they could see through all the secrets of the universe gazed down, through the mists and onto the surface of Mundus. A warm and welcoming but mysterious and knowledgeable Aura surrounded the old man as he sat, seemingly contemplating something. All of a sudden, a fierce gust of wind blew across the old man''s face, causing a slight smile to emerge. ¡°Hello, Quetzal, why have you come to visit this old man on this fine night,¡± said the old man in a warm, almost joking tone. Behind the old man, Quetzalcoatl had suddenly appeared. ¡°Kirin, Zuma has fallen unconscious again, this is the third time this month, and, he¡¯s been unconscious for two whole days already, what are we going to do?¡± Quetzalcoatl asks causing the old man to look up but not turn around and face her, his slight smile turning into a neutral expression. ¡°Is the seal still Functioning¡± Kirin replies ¡°yes, but barely, Zuma¡¯s condition is just getting worse and I¡¯m not sure how much longer the seal will help¡± Quetzal responds. For a few seconds, a deathly silence emerged between the two until Kirin suddenly looked up at the stars and sighed. ¡°Perhaps it¡¯s time, we should send them down to the surface,¡± Kirin said causing Quetzal to take a few steps back, her jaw-dropping in shock before she just sighed. Quetzalcoatl walked up and sat next to Kirin, ¡°Is there really no other way?¡± Quetzal asked ¡°I genuinely don¡¯t know, something masks their presence from me, it makes it nearly impossible to read their karma and predict their fates¡± Kirin replied. Quetzalcoatl frowned at Kirin, Kirin is a Qilin, a rather elusive dragon species that virtually vanished from Mundus after the end of the War for Supremacy 10 000 years ago and is often associated with either the birth or death of an illustrious ruler or wise sage, the reason they are able to do this is because the Qilin are specialists at reading the flow of Karma and Fate. However, like most future Seers, they were often very vague when talking about it and would frequently omit parts of or even all of a person''s destiny if they felt it necessary. This naturally made it hard for Quetzalcoatl to take Kirin seriously when he said that he couldn¡¯t predict Zuma and Lily¡¯s fates but after staring at him for a little under a minute and seeing that Kirin wasn¡¯t going to say anything else, she just sighed. ¡°So, what should we do?¡± Quetzalcoatl asked, her eyes showing clear signs of worry at this new proposal. ¡°Well, Zuma is twelve and Lily just turned nine, isn¡¯t now the perfect time to enrol them into school¡± Kirin replied. For the next few minutes, they once more sat in silence as Quetzalcoatl thought about what Kirin just said. The surface was a dangerous place and both Quetzalcoatl and Kirin understood that better than many as survivors of the War for Supremacy that occurred 10 000 years ago.Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. Now Quetzalcoatl and Kirin both knew that the day when Zuma and Lily needed to go to the surface would eventually arrive and tried their best to prepare them, but they both thought that there would be more time and as such, were barely even 1/1000th through what they originally wanted to teach them. A school would be a good place for Zuma and Lily to learn without there being too much danger, and they could also gain many unique experiences that couldn¡¯t be gained on the floating island. ¡°Very well, if that is what you believe needs to be done, then I won¡¯t stand in its way, but it better be a powerful and prestigious school, I expect no less for my two children¡± Quetzalcoatl stated ¡°Oh, don¡¯t worry, I have just the school in mind¡± Kirin replied with a small smile as a gust of wind suddenly surrounded Quetzalcoatl, an instant later, she disappeared. ¡°The surface of Mundus, A place in which every being from every mythology exists, I wonder, what kind of adventures do you have in store for our little children, I honestly can¡¯t wait to find out.¡± ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ Zuma¡¯s eyes suddenly sprung open, every single muscle in his body was sore and for the first few seconds, after he awoke, all the bones in his body felt like they had just been ground into dust. An unfamiliar landscape surrounded him, an endless white expanse that stretched out as far as the eye could see. ¡°Hey, Kiddo, it has been what, 5 ¨C 6 years since we last talked,¡± said a mysterious male voice, catching Zuma completely off guard and causing him to spring up, completely forgetting about all the pain his body was currently feeling as he stared, wide-eyed in shock. A young man in his late teens, crimson red eyes and hair that has bangs falling over the top of his face and a long ponytail that reaches past his waist. He was dressed in red and orange sleeveless armour that more closely resembled feminine clothing. ¡°you, you, you, you¡¯re¡± Zuma mumbles ¡°dead, technically, yes, yes I am,¡± The mysterious man interrupts ¡°But, but how¡± ¡°how am I here, I¡¯m not entirely sure, anyway, we summoned you here because we wanted to give you something,¡± The mysterious man says while shrugging his shoulders. ¡°We!¡± Zuma shouted, taking a few steps back in response, catching the man slightly off guard ¡°the others did genuinely want to see you again, but with the current circumstances, we thought that it would be best if only one of us met you, and I was the one that was selected¡± The mysterious man stated, his voice in a noticeably more sympathetic tone then before. ¡°the others, ugh?¡± Zuma begins to say until a splitting headache overtook him, slight flashes of memories that he couldn¡¯t remember appearing suddenly in his head. ¡°you shouldn¡¯t try to remember, what occurred on that dreadful night is better off forgotten for now, and besides, you might awaken," the mysterious man said when all of a sudden, the hairs on their bodies stood up and a chill went down both of their spines. Ominous primordial energy that was neither good nor evil filled the air as the ground beneath their feet turned into an endless ocean. Zuma looked down at the depths of the ocean if you could even call it that as what Zuma saw was closer to an endless abyss. The surface was completely tranquil, with no signs of ripples, waves or currents and beneath, there was nothing but an endless expanse of water, No light managed to penetrate the surface turning what was beneath into a black void, a deafening silence that would drive anyone mad echoing out from the depths. Yet somehow, Zuma entranced by this ocean, the ominous energy calling him to dive down into its greatest depths when suddenly, he felt something on his shoulder, shattering the ocean''s spell. ¡°What was that?¡± Zuma asked, deep sweat forming on his face. ¡°we¡¯re not entirely sure, it¡¯s been a part of you since that terrible night, but it normally lies dormant, though you being here and trying to remember about that night seems to be stirring it ¡° The Ocean started to fade away as the room returned to its normal white expanse through an overwhelming sense of tiredness fell over Zuma. ¡°It seems like we¡¯re running out of time, you¡¯ll awaken soon, and we wanted to give you something,¡± The mysterious man stated as he held out his hand to reveal something. A small translucent orb no bigger than a marble, but when Zuma gazed into it, he could see a flame in every shade of every colour imaginable including black, white and grey, it was constantly shifting between a flickering kindling and a raging inferno. ¡°What is it?¡± Zuma asked, not entirely sure about what he was seeing. ¡°A Light to guide you through the Darkness, it also comes with this message: don¡¯t stop moving forward, it will be tough, there will be many obstacles to overcome and hardships to endure, but don¡¯t let them change nor define you, become something more than what they wanted you to be, tread the path you wish to follow and always remember, that we are always watching you¡± The orb floated and merged into Zuma¡¯s skull, disappearing as if it never existed but before Zuma had time to process what happened, the tiredness overwhelmed him and he started to fall unconscious once more, just before he fell asleep, he managed to catch a genuine smile on the mysterious mans face.
