《Tales of the Creator》
Prologue
"Urgh...?"
I woke up, laying down on some hard ground. For some reason, my body was trembling. It was neither cold nor hot. But I was trembling. It was an eerie feeling. Before I was even able to open my eyes, suddenly, I was hit by nausea. I struggled to get up, unable to find strength in my legs. After some effort, I managed to crawl on all fours, attempting to resist the urge to vomit.
I couldn''t. It felt like my stomach was coming out of my mouth while vomiting. I lost all strength on my arms and legs just before I fell headfirst into the puddle of vomit.
After who knows how much time had passed, I woke up again with a sudden electrical shock inside my brain. I felt my blood circling in my veins, then it hit me. My face was warm, a warmth supplied with a disgusting smell that was penetrating through my nostrils. I immediately rolled on the ground to get away from the fluid that was crawling up on my face which I assumed was vomit.
I hit something while trying to roll. Barely finding the strength to raise my arm I was able to touch something behind my back. The cold swept through my hand making me tremble once again. The object was hard, cold and damp. I tried to open my eyes to see what was around me, only to realize that it hurt every time I slightly opened my eyes, making me reflexively close them. I was going to wipe my eyes with my hand when I realized my hand was wet... no, not my hand, my palm was wet, presumably covered in vomit. I turned my hand and started wiping my eyes with the back of my hand, hoping it was clean enough. I started to open my eyes. It was dark.
All around me was enveloped in darkness. Opening my eyes had made no difference, I was certain that nothing had changed.
''Did I go blind?''
This was the first time I was feeling afraid, a sudden sense of fear out of being unsure whether I was blind or not. Remembering the object which I presumed to be a wall, I started getting up from the ground, using my hands to locate the object. After a few seconds, I was able to get up, my back leaning on the object. Considering how rigid it was, I was certain... or hoping, that this was a wall.
I closed my eyes, leaning my head backwards on the wall. I started touching around my body to see if I was hurt. I could still feel the wet vomit, but I persevered... Surprisingly, I could not feel any pain, which probably meant that I was unhurt. But I was tired... so tired. Sigh. I opened my eyes, I could feel my muscles moving, the long eyelashes touching the skin just below my eyes while I closed and opened my eyes several times, the fear hadn''t taken over me yet. However, this did not change the fact that I really couldn''t see. It was just... dark.Support the creativity of authors by visiting the original site for this novel and more.
I tried to remember what happened, the last thing I could remember was it was a long day after work and as soon as I got home, I started stripping and was headed straight towards the bed.
''Wait... work?''
''What was I working on?''
I can''t remember.
''Where is my house?''
''Where is my work?''
''What is my work?''
I can''t remember anything!
The fear I had over not being able to see was slowly evolving. I tried combing through my memories, other than the last part where I went to bed, I couldn''t remember anything else. Who was I? Where was I from? What was my work?
Nothing. It was all blank. I had no idea where I was from or what I was doing. I had no idea how I got here.
''Wait... here?''
''Where am I?''
I asked myself, I was in somewhere dark, which I was not sure... I might be blind after all, behind me was a damp wall. I could not hear any sound other than my heartbeat and breathing. The fear I had in me had... stopped growing. It felt odd, I was not afraid. I was not worried. I was just questioning myself.
Tired. I had barely moved since I woke up, but that was enough to tire me out near instantly. From what I could feel, I was not hungry... I could not feel any thirst as well. Its just... drowsiness. Unwillingly, I closed my eyes.

"Honey, wake up." a soft voice climbed into my ears.
"You are going to be late again..." the voice repeated.
I opened my eyes, I was in a bed... I was in my bed, facing my left side. There was a girl in front of me. I had no idea who it was.
I smiled, slowly moving my right hand to caress the girl''s face. This made her smile as well.
"If it means to spend some extra time in the bed with you, I''ll be late for everything and anything forever." I said. My words resulted in a chuckle from the girl. Her face was cute.
The room was filled with white light and there was a whiff of dandelion perfume coming from the girl. The curtains were not covering the windows, freely letting in the bright sunlight, shining on her face.
I was in my bedroom. Happily smiling towards the girl I love the most.
Suddenly, everything disappeared.
I was jerked awake.
''Who was that?'' I asked myself, I had no idea about the vision I just had. It was all blurry now that I had woken up.
''Was that a dream?''
''Was that a memory?''
I asked myself over and over. I could not be sure of anything in the past few... moments. I had no idea how much time had passed. I wasn''t sure if I was blind or not, I wasn''t sure where I was, I wasn''t sure who I was... nothing.

I heard a sound coming from far away. It was a faint sound of water drops hitting the ground. I wanted to check where it was coming from. After waking up, I realized that I had more energy than before. Begrudgingly, I started getting up while supporting myself with my hand on the wall.
My goal was to find the source of the sound.

DRIP.
DRIP.
The sound of the water drops was getting louder and louder as I continued to walk towards it. My right hand as on the wall, tracing it. While I used my left hand to wave in front of me so that I would not accidentally hit anything in the darkness. I continued walking like that for a good few minutes.
I was about to stop and rest when I felt that something wet near my feet. Crouching down, I swiped my fingers on the ground. It was definitely wet.
''Almost there.'' I said to myself, smiling in the meanwhile.
I got up and kept walking.

I was shocked out of my wits. I was somewhat sure that I had to go left and right like a maze in the cave while following the sound and tracing the wall. However, I had finally arrived at my destination. The water. The reason I was so surprised was that the water was located in some sort of a crevice but the thing is that the water was glowing blue. Glowing so bright that the first few seconds when I saw it, I thought I was blind.
After finally finding the water something made me wonder. It should have been quite some time since I woke up. I should be feeling hungry or at least, thirsty. Right? I couldn''t feel any hunger or thirst inside me. That was weird. Nevertheless, I approached the crevice to take a deeper look in the water.
I squished myself through the crevice so that I could reach the water behind it. It wasn''t really hard considering that my body was relatively flexible and slim. I arrived on the edge of the crater, a lake, a pool of water? I''ll go with a pool of water. Looked down to check my reflection, I have to admit that I was still wondering what situation my body was in. Unauthorized usage: this tale is on Amazon without the author''s consent. I could not see...
No, I was able to see. But it was something unexplainable. I was not able to discern anything from the reflection I was seeing. I scratched my head then started feeling my ears, my nose, my eyes, my mouth one by one. I could.
''Maybe it''s about water?'' I thought. I could definitely feel everything, but the water was not able to reflect it. Probably something in the water, maybe just because it''s dark here? Surely, I could not answer that question.
Suddenly, the cave shook, it shook hard. I fell down on my butt, trying not to fall inside the pool of water as I had decided to call it. Cowering in fear, I used my hands to protect myself in case any rock decided giving up on life and fall down onto me. After a few seconds, the shaking stopped. Luckily enough, no rock piece had fallen on me. I raised my head and started checking my surroundings to verify what happened. Looking behind me, I saw that the crevice I had initially come here from was sealed with huge boulders. That just meant one thing, there was no going back or venturing inside the cave... Unless there is another way.
"DRINK."
I jumped in fright. I had heard a voice. It was the first time I heard a voice since waking up in this case. I was trying to locate where the sound came from when I heard it again.
"DRINK."
The voice was... ethereal. It was coming from inside my head, my left, my right, above me... All directions. I was scared, yet tempted. I wasn''t hungry or thirsty. But something made me want to drink the water after hearing the voice.
I submerged my hand into the water. It was not cold or hot. It was not warm either. As I shook my hand inside the water, it felt like my body was being charged. Brimming with energy.
I cupped my hands and took out a small part of the water, looking at it shining blue just before drinking it.

Chapter 2
"Awaken."
He had heard. From the same voice that had told him to initially drink the water. He saw a square shape with a blue background. ''Awaken'' it said, written on the square shape itself.
The man had finally drunk the water. The power of eternal life was now slowly flowing down his throat, all the way down to his stomach.
"Awaken." the ethereal voice repeated with a hidden hint of exuberance.
The voice watched.

I do not know what is happening.
I do not know what is happening.
I do not know what is happening.
I thought about it over and over again, yet, the square-shaped "box" in front of me felt so familiar. Just as if it was there my whole life.
"Awaken." I heard the voice again, frantically turning my head left and right, trying to find the source.
The box moved, no matter where I turned my head. The box was right in the middle of my field of view.
The text had changed. I could not read it, it was a weird symbol with some letters that I knew by heart.
In a flash, I felt a huge weight on my shoulders and a headache that was indescribable.
I managed to scream out in pain before everything went black and I felt my body getting limp.

I heard a sound, a sound that was like a lullaby in my ears. I heard the birds chirping above me. I was able to hear the water flowing, soothing my senses and calming me down. I could smell the grass, the flowers all around. I opened my eyes, apparently, I was laying on the ground.Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
''Where am I?'' I thought to myself, the area I was currently in was covered in hills of green, a river filled with water so blue that it could be a painting. A blue sky, housing the tens of birds I can see flying around. Everything... looked... normal.
Except it was not.
I was stark naked. Every single inch of my body was revealed to the mother nature. I did not feel cold or hot though. It seemed like the weather was just the right temperature. I decided on getting up to check my surroundings. In terms of energy, hunger and thirst. I had no problems. The feelings I had back in the cavern were no more. I was feeling rejuvenated. It was awesome.
I turned my head around, but I could not find anything else. In front of me was a river. My sides and behind were covered with hills of green. Just... grass. That was it.
I remembered something. I could not see my face before in the water I had found. I hurriedly ran towards the river to see if I could see my face, glancing down at the water excitedly.
I could see myself. A face, a human face that felt so familiar yet so strange. My hair colour was blonde and my eyes were blue. One look and it was enough to understand that the colour of my eyes was the same as the water I drunk earlier in the cave. Other than that... It was just like a normal, adult, human male. However, there was a slight scar on my forehead. Going down through my right eye. Out of pure curiousness, I started touching it with my right hand. It felt... odd.
I started checking the rest of my body more carefully to see if I could spot anything relatively out of place. Thankfully, everything was in their respective places. No scars, no cuts, no missing parts. My body was no different than a young human male other than the scar on my eye.
I let out a smile. Calm and content with my current situation.

A square-shaped box popped up in front of me once again. I was somewhat skeptical and readied myself for any upcoming pain by crouching down on the ground.
One second later.
Two seconds later.
Three seconds later.
Nothing happened.
I looked to my left and right. If someone was watching me, I would probably look like a weird person at the moment.

Thinking of a nickname, an idea suddenly appeared in my head.
I could not even think of anything else when the box in front of me suddenly updated itself and the text changed.
