《Chaotic Territories》
Chapter 1 Break Up Means New Life!
It was a gloomy day for Nick. No matter how bright the sun shined up there, or how the smiling and the laughter of others caught by his ears and eyes on this city park, couldn¡¯t ease his depression in his heart.
Just this morning, he wanted to surprise his girlfriend, Anna, on her birthday which is today. He already prepared the gift he bought by his first salary, ready to spend the day with his lover.
Arrived at the front door of her flat, he was about to knock the door when the door was opened from the inside. The pair inside the room made him blank for a second. Yes, the pair inside the room, a girl, which is, of course, Anna, with a guy he didn¡¯t know. He knew Anna was the only child of her family, so this guy wasn¡¯t her brother. Just looking at her panty and a tank-top, it meant they were together in her room since last night doing shady business.
Nick took a deep breath and smiled a little at the girl that opened the door. Anna was a little pale seeing Nick in front of her this early morning.
¡°I think I came too early. Oh right, happy birthday Anna.¡±
¡°Nick, I can explain this! It''s not like what you think!¡±
¡°Ah? I think I can see better now!¡±
The thought to ease his feeling with coming to the park didn¡¯t help a bit. He could only go back to his flat and drowning himself in sadness.
He was crossing the street. Maybe his mind was in mess, he didn¡¯t pay attention to the traffic. It was a truck running at high-speed and it happened just like that.
¡®Ah, it seems my luck dried out.¡¯
That was his last thought.
¡®What is this warmness?¡¯
¡®Hey I can¡¯t speak and move, where is this place? The last thing I remember was that bitch Anna. Oh right, that truck too! I don¡¯t know if she could drive a truck. No, no, no, it was that damn guy. Bastard! By the way, what kind of place is this, so dark but cozy at the same time.¡¯
¡®Ah, there was light over there! Damn it, I can¡¯t move my body! If only I can move my limbs, I¡¯m getting bored with this dark place, not I dislike this place though.¡¯
¡®Oh, it¡¯s moving toward the light! Finally, I thought I¡¯ll spend forever in this place. Good, I like it! Hm, wait, what is this itchy feeling. Damn, it hurt, slow down dude! FUCK, IT HURTS!¡¯
Those words were he wanted to cry, but the only thing that registered to his vestibulocochlear was his cry like a baby.
¡°Oh, it was a boy, congratulation to you! That was some cry for a baby!¡±
Before Nick could tell what or why another strange thing happened inside his head.
|
You got a blessing from the mysterious energy!
You are absorbing the mysterious energy!
There is not enough concentration of energy! The process is incomplete!
|
Five years later.
It was a small hill just outside of the village. Here, many crops that were planted by the farmers. On the side, some fruit trees that grew wild. Under the apple tree, a boy sat with a book in his hand. He engrossed with his read like no other children his age.
A five-year-old child with fair skin, black eyes, and short black hair. He leaned back on the tree trunk, he closed his feet and raised his knee to his chest level. He held the book on his thigh and an apple on his right hand.
¡°Ah I feel like Einstein was like this, I just don¡¯t know what kind of enlightenment under this apple tree!¡±
Laughed a little, Nick ate his apple and continue with his reading.
It had been five years since his birth, or rebirth? Whatever he had already accepted it. At least it was not like he was transported to a foreign world or his soul occupy another dead man¡¯s body. He got buffer time and he grew with it. It¡¯s completely acceptable.
Now the book he read was another fiction story that popular in this world. Right, this world¡¯s name was Enlightened World, the safe world for humanity. Why the world ¡®safe¡¯ was used then? Here his father¡¯s words, you are still a kid, don¡¯t need to know adult stuff. Go play! Go play! Go play!Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
Well, physically, he was still a child. So he couldn¡¯t argue with that. Not like he cared anyway. He decided to play it like a kid since he was one, but it was hard to do something silly and stupid. He could only pester his parents to bring him some books home to keep him company besides helping them when he was asked.
More than a thousand years ago, a strange portal-like-gate suddenly appeared in the world. That kind of phenomenon attracting humanity to research it. It was found there was mysterious energy leaked and affecting the researchers and people in that area. They immediately felt the same phenomenon that he felt when he was just born.
After so many years, the research made some breakthroughs with using this portal-like-gate to transfer anything to the other side, including humans. From then on humanity began another new chapter in their civilization. Although he didn¡¯t know what kind of place on another side, but he knew for sure it had a big influence on this side.
Humanity became united under one government, Federation. It was not something he would find on Earth with their politics and whatever stuff like that. Even he didn¡¯t understand, it was something amazing. Too bad his curiosity was limited by his chibi-like body.
The day was getting late, the sunset started to show its warm color. Even he wanted to appreciate its beauty, he knew better what awaited him was scolding father. It wasn¡¯t like he afraid of him, he just didn¡¯t want his mother to worry. You know, a boy was a soft spot in his mother''s heart, vice versa. So he picked himself up, carried his book, and towed his short-legs back to the village.Damn it! When will you grow long, legs?
It was a little village, called Greenhill Village. It was a very peaceful village, there were several villages nearby, around Springfield Town. The villagers were very friendly, their condition was very good economically or socially. It didn¡¯t mean they were some rich people, but they were not lacking anything. There were farmers, merchants, or some that work in the town.
He met his parents on his way back home. His father¡¯s name was Huang Wei. He didn¡¯t know if this world there were some ethnic like Asian or not, well it didn¡¯t matter anyway. His was pretty average, not too handsome or too ugly with black hair, black eyes, and a bit facial hair, but not too much. He was about thirty when his mother conceived him, so thirty-five this year. And his mother, she was Helena, golden hair and tender skin. Even if she was already thirty, she was like a mature beautiful big sister in your neighborhood that brings solace to your shitty life.
Both of them just returned from the public transportation station that usually used by the villagers to go to another village or town nearby. His father and mother worked for the big family in the Springfield Town, Roberts Family. Both of them manage one of their business, so they always went back and forth together. I thought it was quite a hassle and waste too much time on the road, but both of them it was quite nice to live in the village. Although they said that, I understood that it would make our financial situation quite tight.
¡°Dad, Mom! How is business?¡±
¡°That is not something that should ask, you kid!¡± Huang Wei berated him, flicked his finger to his forehead.
¡°It¡¯s quite good, the weather is quite nice today. Let¡¯s go inside, I¡¯ll make something good for dinner!¡± Helena smiled, stroking his head lightly.
¡°You¡¯re the best mom!¡± Nick hugged his mom and immediately took several things from her hands,it seems these are our dinner. He ran inside, put them in the kitchen, and ran to the bathroom to clean himself.
Dinner that night was quite sumptuous, with several dishes laid on the table. As expected of mom, they are very delicious.
¡°Son, tomorrow you will follow us to the town. There are a few things that I need to bring to Roberts Family, you will help me with that, okay?¡±
Looking at his serious father this time, Nick nodded his head.
¡°Good, remember to watch your manner, don¡¯t be rude, don¡¯t be naughty, make sure you smile to everyone you see, don¡¯t make¡¡±
Watching his father spewed several words all at once like a nagging woman, he was a little helpless to stop him. He turned his gaze at his mother, seeking her help. Watching both of them acting like that, Helena giggled amuse by their antics.
¡°Alright dear, you have told him enough. Our boy was smart, he will know how to behave himself.¡±
Huang Wei could only stop after Helena told him that, but still mumbling in a small voice.Because he was too smart for a kid his age so I couldn¡¯t help but worry.
Feeling freedom from his father¡¯s nagging, he immediately became a diligent kid, sweeping the plates on the table to the washing board. After saying ¡®good night¡¯ to his parent, he quickly disappeared to his room without waiting for their reply before being held by his father and listening to his discontinued nagging.
Helena couldn¡¯t help but laugh at her son''s antics, while Huang Wei was snorting lightly and continued reading the book on his hand. Sometimes his parents always thought he was different. He had much curiosity in anything that was not supposed to for a kid his age. It was good actually, it¡¯s just as a parent they wanted their kid had a good childhood.
Clueless about his parent¡¯s thoughts, Nick leaned on the headboard. He was about to continue reading when a thought suddenly crossed his mind. With a little thought, he checked the imaginary display.

It seems waiting is the only option.Nick put the thought to the back of his mind and kept himself busy with his book.
Chapter 2 Meeting Big Sister Lillian
¡°Wake up you lazy bum! Come down, today you will follow us to the town,¡± mother¡¯s voice sounded beside his ear, with a little shake to his shoulder. A little beam of warm light shot out from the gap of the window¡¯s frame.
Nick slowly got up from his bed, looking dazed at the opened door, without her mother¡¯s silhouette to be seen. Maybe she came down to prepare breakfast. Yawning, he stretched his slightly stiff body, cracking sounds here and there over his joints. Drowsiness was still there, he got near and opened the window, feeling the cold breeze and the warm faint sunlight, enjoyed it till drowsiness gone.
He came down to the bathroom washing his face and teeth-brushing. Looking at his reflection on the mirror, satisfied with his look, he smirked.
¡°It¡¯s still too early for you to care about your face, boy!¡±
His father came inside to do his morning stuff while not forgetting to make fun of Nick after seeing him inside.
¡°Since you have my gene, you don¡¯t need to worry about your look at all!¡± Huang Wei couldn¡¯t help bragging in front of his son.
¡°That¡¯s what I¡¯m worried, luckily I inherited mother¡¯s look more, with only dad¡¯s hair and eye color,¡± Nick touched his hair, acted like he was serious but his eyes betrayed him with its mischievous glint.
¡°That¡¯s why they said kids are ignorant, how would your beautiful mother like me if I¡¯m not a handsome man!¡±
¡°That¡¯s why you are so lucky.¡±
¡°Darn kid, you¡¡±
The duo kept their words-fighting in the bathroom. Helena prepared breakfast while giggling happily because they praised her indirectly.
His family arrived at the station, there were already some villagers waited the train the same as them.
¡°Why are we leaving so early, you usually never worked this early, right?¡± Nick asked them while looking at the big clock a few meters away that showed it was still six past thirty in the morning. He observed the people around him. There were not many differences between their life with the people from earth before the emergence of the portal and the mysterious energy. Its influence just made people¡¯s lives better, at least that was what he saw.
¡°I need to check the stuff before I sent them of course,¡± Huang Wei said lightly.
¡°You should do that yesterday instead.¡±
¡°Your dad just wants to do the last check, so we need to go early,¡± Helena responded before her husband could say anything. It amused her to see this father-son always bickering with each other, but they were in public, so she interrupted before they start another round.
Three minutes later, the train came. The people around them boarded it. Since it was still early in the morning, there were already some people inside but not to the point of being crowded.
It was fifteen minutes trip. The station in Springfield Town was located near their store, it was less than ten minutes walk. The town was like any other town, with more people coming back and forth, more buildings, and more transportations.
Their store was on a business street. There were some business varieties, so it seemed like there was already an integrated system used by the one that managed this town, good then.
They arrived in front of the store. He looked at the name¡¯s plank, ¡°The Ancient Anvil¡±. Interesting name, Nick chuckled inside. He came inside while their parents left him alone as they started their cores for the day.
Nick looked around the front room, it was used as a display for several cold weapons. Sword, bow, hammer, spear, javelin, and many other weapons laid there on the display table or hanged on the wall. They were not looking fancy or anything, they looked plain like weapon with no ornaments to distinguish them with their kinds. People like Nick that didn¡¯t know anything about weapons only had one thing in mind that all the weapons here could be used. Right weapon to be used, not a mere display.
Besides his family, there was a big sister in that display room sitting behind the receptionist table, but she was pulled by her mother inside, maybe to talk about something. I¡¯ll ask about her later. Then Nick went inside to find his father was checking the tools on the open back of a car. Nick silently came up, looking at several items there, among them were weapons like the front display he had seen but better in his eyes. He waited for his father to finish, it was quite rare for him to see the serious side of him.If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it.
A moment later, Huang Wei finished checking the items, then glancing at Nick at his side.
¡°Alright, you will follow me to Roberts Family.¡±
The Ancient Anvil and the train station were located in the southeast part of the town, whereas the Roberts family residence was located in the north. It would take some time to pass through more than half of the city, especially at this early.
Nick seated beside his father that drove the pickup. Realized it will take some time and didn¡¯t have any intention to start a conversation with his father afraid distracting him, he took a book from inside his backpack that he brought.
Glancing at his son from the corner of his eyes, his mouth twitched a little.
¡°Say, what are you still bringing your book? You should play more and make some friends. I never saw you with your friend,¡± Huang Wei sounded so helpless.
¡°They were boring and childish, always playing some silly games. It¡¯s so embarrassing, so you can¡¯t blame me for that!¡± Nick answered with his eyes still glued in the book.
¡°Kids do kid¡¯s stuff, what is so embarrassing about that,¡±
Not getting the answer, Huang Wei continued, ¡°I know you are quite smart, but can¡¯t you pretend a bit. Your mother is quite worried that you don¡¯t have any friends. At least make a friend to show it to your mother.¡±
Now Nick turned his gaze at his father, quite dumbfounded by his logic. I understand if it was a girlfriend, but a friend? You really can think, dad!
¡°Alright, I¡¯ll think about it.¡±
¡°Good, you can start when we get to Roberts family residence. Listen, there is someone of your age there, her name is Miss Lillian Roberts. Don¡¯t be rude and make sure to befriend her, okay? Your mother and I are planning for you to attend the preparatory school in this town, both of you can be in the same school.¡±
Suddenly the conversation shifted to the boring stuff, he could careless listen to his father anymore.
The Roberts Residence was not on the main roads, even parts of them were outside of the town. It was quite huge for Nick. It was something like an aristocratic residence. Now after looking at the residence in front of him, he realized what his father said before, they were the biggest family in this town.
Following his father from behind, Nick turned his head looking around him. Even he never came to a private garden this big in his previous life. Seeing his father was busy talking with some old man wearing a butler outfit, he took the chance to walk away without telling him. He was quite curious and a little excited about the new environment. He wanted to know more about what was in this huge garden. Seeing some fruit trees resembled apple trees, he approached it.
¡°Who are you? I have never seen someone like you before!¡± he suddenly heard a girl¡¯s voice from behind.
Turning his head, there was a girl his age with both hands on her waist. She was wearing a pink-white-short-sleeve dress down to her knee with full of frills. Her hair was tied into a ponytail. She was a quite cute and lovable little girl, but her gaze glued on him suspiciously.
¡°Hello little girl, how are you?¡± Nick pretended to be a good big brother, smiling at her. Too bad it didn¡¯t work.
¡°Who are you calling a little girl? You are the little one, you should say big sister instead! Ah not right, you haven¡¯t answered my question. Tell me, who are you little boy?¡± got distracted for a moment, she shook her head and was a bit angry at him.
Nick was speechless, forgot that he was also ¡®little¡¯ like she said.
¡°Cough, sorry big sister. I was with my father from the blacksmith store to deliver some items here. I got lost because this place is too huge,¡± couldn¡¯t bother to argue with her, he mixed some truth and lie to answer her.
¡°Ah, you are from The Ancient Anvil store? You should say so! I thought you were committing robbery in daylight. Hahaha!¡±
Come on, I¡¯m a kid. Such a thing is impossible, alright! But seeing the girl in front of him, he felt it was not good to voice his thought.
¡°So, I¡¯m Lillian, Lillian Roberts. What¡¯s your name?¡± she put her arm forward while smiling.
¡°Ah, you are Miss Lillian. Hello, I¡¯m Nicholas, Nick for short.¡± He shook hands with her. So this was Lillian, huh.
¡°What Miss Lillian! You are like an uncle, you know that! So, how old are you Nick?¡± she frowned her brow and didn¡¯t loosen her hand.
¡°I¡¯m five years old now.¡±
¡°See, so don¡¯t talk like an uncle okay. Call me big sister from now on!¡±
¡°How do I know if you were older than me without telling me yours?¡±
¡°I just know! And don¡¯t ask a lady about her age, it¡¯s rude!¡±
¡°But you are a girl, not a lady.¡±
¡°A girl will grow into a lady, so I¡¯m a lady too!¡±
¡°But you were the one that said you were the older one, not me!¡±
¡°I have never said that!¡±
¡°Yes, you are. You told me to call you ¡®big sister¡¯!¡±
¡°Oh, so the little brother dare to talk back to his big sister now, huh?!¡±
¡°I¡¯m sorry!¡±
¡°What?¡±
¡°I¡¯m sorry big sis!¡±
¡°Accepted! There you go, hahaha!¡±
Feeling smug for winning the argument, Lillian was grinning happily. Meanwhile, Nick was speechless for him to argue with a girl, and a kid nonetheless.
So for the entire day, Nick was dragged by Lillian to accompany her playing, arguing, or anything. His plan to explore was accomplished in interesting ways. Huang Wei knowing his son¡¯s situation couldn¡¯t bother to care. He only picked him up in the afternoon. Poor Nick, he only realized that he was already ¡®sold¡¯ by his father.
Chapter 3 The Blessing
¡
The emergence of the mysterious portal, that was called Gate of Chaos by our ancestor, became another mark in history that we, humans had taken a step to a new era. The mysterious energy from the other sides became a chance for us to know more about the secrets that still hiding in another corner of the universe.
Nick leaned his body back to the chair, rubbing the space between his eyes after closing the book on the table. Whew, that¡¯s some heavy words you left there, dude! Nevertheless, he still smiled satisfied. Knowing something worth anticipating in the future, he couldn¡¯t be more excited.
¡°Finish your reading, little brother?¡±
Nick turned to look at the source of the voice. Several meters from him, a woman was sitting behind the receptionist table. She was quite young, at most in her twenty. She was quite pretty, a big sister that many people loved to have. She was very reliable, so his parents also trusted her so much and treated as if she was their family.
¡°Yeah, big sis Ann! It was quite a tiresome book as the big shot who wrote it loved to brag and say some big words. But it was interesting nonetheless.¡±
¡°You really like to read so much, huh? I never knew a little kid and book could be compatible pair.¡± Anna Maria couldn¡¯t help but giggling at Nick like he was an adult.
Nick shrugged, ¡°What can I say, I¡¯m still six! Many things don¡¯t appreciate how a young boy like me can achieve. That¡¯s how society treats us nowadays!¡±
Anna was amused by his antics. She suddenly had an idea to tease him, ¡°Oh, so our little boy really wants to be an adult fast, huh? Ah, you know, your big sister has a way to achieve that, do you want to hear it?¡±
¡°Oh, I¡¯m all ears!¡± half-doubt and half suspicious, Nick still listened to her.
¡°Since you like books so much, this big sister has books about the adult¡¯s activity. I can lend them to you to learn!¡±
Her eyes hid mischievous glint when she said those. Too bad, she wanted to fool the wrong person, as Nick was much more adult than her, mentally.
¡°Oh, really? Should I ask Mom to thank you then, Big Sis?¡± Looking at his grinning and his eyes as if they were saying I know it, she knew she was busted.
¡°Oh, what is this thanks about?¡± before she could say anything, Helena suddenly came and joined their conversation.
Anna could only sit there nervously, that was close! She looked at Nick, trying to make eye contact so he didn¡¯t spill anything to her boss.
¡°Nothing, mom! Big sis only wants to lend me some books, so I said thanks in advance, right big sis?¡±
Anna nodded her head right away. Despite that, Helena still looked at them doubtful because of their suspicious acts. Nick immediately cut her words before it could be spilled.
¡°Mom, I¡¯m going to walk outside to take a breather, okay?¡±
¡°Sure, do you want me to come with you?¡± Helena offered to accompany her strolled around.
¡°Nah, it¡¯s okay. It¡¯s just around the neighborhood, I just want to refresh my head after all those readings.¡±
¡°I¡¯ve said before to read less and play more, you brat! Go then, remember don¡¯t take too long! Your father is going to finish his forging after 2 hours. We¡¯re going to close the store after that.¡±
¡°Alright, bye mom!¡± right before he stepped outside, he turned his head to Anna, smiling slyly, ¡°Big Sis, don¡¯t forget to bring the books that you mentioned next time okay?¡± Nick winked.
Anna¡¯s face blushed slightly at his words. Darn kid, how could he mentioned it now of all times. She cried inside after seeing Helena stared inquiry at her.
It was past midday so it¡¯s still quite hot outside, but the breeze made it the temperature bearable. Nick strolled around with a cold drink in one hand and some a small box of fried snacks that he bought from a nearby stall.
It had been six years since he was born again. The majority of people in this Enlightened World started attended preparatory school at that age. It was the same for him, his parents had registered him to Northern Springfield Preparatory School in the north part of the town. Actually, it couldn¡¯t be said close to the store. It was thanks to Lillian, that girl had forced him to attend the same school as her.
¡°I¡¯ll keep worried if my little brother gets bullied by other people. At the very least they need to ask my permission first.¡±
Those were her words, but he knew it was only her way to show her care. Yeah, her care. Nick didn¡¯t have that much confidence in his small thought.
It was almost 8 am, but the big hall of the Northern Springfield Preparatory School had already filled with around three hundred something kids from the town and nearby area. It was a special day because many preparatory schools started their first gathering for new students at these days of the year.
In front of these new students, the school headmaster stood up on the podium giving some boring welcoming speech, with several teachers stood behind him. The students, also the teachers didn¡¯t have any interest to listen to the blabbering old man on the podium. Instead, they stared at their soon-to-be-teachers/students with interest. They talked to the people beside them in low voice rather than to the long-winded speech.
Knowing he was being ignored by the old and the young, the corner of his mouth twitched. The old headmaster couldn¡¯t help but jump to the most essential thing about this gathering.
¡°Alright, since none of you want to hear this old man¡¯s blabbering, we¡¯ll just conduct Crystal¡¯s Blessing right now then,¡± the headmaster¡¯s voice made the teachers and some students stunned and blushed in embarrassment. But it soon disappeared with them cheered with applause. Damn, do you dislike my speech that much, the headmaster couldn¡¯t help but grumble inside.
The group of students then divided into ten smaller groups based on their classes. Each group consisted of around thirty students with one teacher. Nick was assigned in the first group, same with Lillian.
¡°Alright kids, my name is Isabel Conrad, you can call me Teacher Isabel. I¡¯ll be your teacher for your class one, I hope we will have a great time together,¡± teacher Isabel smiled, continuing her instruction, ¡°Now, I¡¯ll explain something to you. Look at this crystal in front of you. I¡¯ll call you one by one later, the one who is called will come forward and touch this crystal with both hands. Easy right? Let¡¯s get started then!¡±
She gave short instruction while showing them a head-size-crystal on the table. It had an irregular form with white color. The crystal was inside of the transparent-like-globe glass. Nick turned to look at the crystals from the other groups. Right, besides the same white color and the size of the human¡¯s head, each of them had a different irregular shape like they were naturally formed stones.
¡°Adam Conbert!¡±
After the first student was called, a skinny boy came forward from the crowd. He looked nervous in front of the female teacher. She just smiled and instructed the boy patiently the same as before. The boy took a breath and put his hands on the glass. He closed his eyes then after several seconds, a dim white light appeared from the crystal to his hands. It remained for about several seconds, then faded out. The boy opened his eyes with a confused expression, only to be reminded to go back by the teacher.
Nick knew that the so-called Crystal¡¯s Blessing from his mother and the book he read. Crystal¡¯s blessing was actually for humans, especially the kids to be exposed to a higher concentration of mysterious energy. Because the concentration was not enough, all humans were left with an incomplete blessing process when they were born.
One of the main goals of the preparatory school was to complete this process by absorbing higher concentration energy. One of the sources was the crystal in front of them. It was the natural occurrence for a place where high concentration energy solidified into crystals, of course, the time it took at the very least should be more than one hundred years.
As for what happened after the process, he didn¡¯t know. He will find out when it was his turn.
The calls kept coming alphabetically, and it was time for ¡®the big sis¡¯ Lillian. The girl beside him grinned excitedly. Nick was curious too about her blessing because it was public knowledge that Roberts Family was the most distinguished family in the town. They were specials, as very few families had the bloodline power. This content has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
She finished her turn and came back with a smile on her face. Nick didn¡¯t know if it was his misconception but he felt a bit warm after she came back.
¡°Nicholas Huang!¡± after three more students, it was finally his turn.
Nick came forward, curiously stared at the crystals inside the glass. He observed it closely, so close as if he wanted to paste his face to the glass.
¡°Put your hands not your face,¡± teacher Isabel reminded him because there were still some students waiting for their turns behind him.
As he put his hands on the glass, he felt as if something different. His palms didn¡¯t feel like touching a glass. It was skin-warm and flowing, which is weird since he knew he touched a glass. But inside his head, it was something different.
|
You got a blessing!
The process is complete!

Chapter 4 Talk With Mother
It was quite a hot day outside the class, while the students paid their attention to the teacher in front of them. Just this morning, they finished the blessing process. As something foreign to them, many students didn''t understand the situation.
Teacher Isabel had been stood up for almost two hours. She explained to the students so they could understand the game-like-display inside their heads.
Nick seated in the corner of the class. He heard the teacher''s explanation while observed and compared it with his system.

Name, gender, age, and race were easy to understand. As for the traits, he was a bit suspicious. As he checked it, he had a Qilin bloodline, even if it was only ten percent. As far as he knew both his parents should be ordinary people. The bloodline power was a hereditary one, and the owner, individual or family, should have been famous ones. Roberts family, for example, they were famous because they had a Phoenix bloodline. Of course, they were not the main family, because it was impossible for the family that was as strong as them to be located in a small place like Springfield Town.If you come across this story on Amazon, it''s taken without permission from the author. Ah, I''ll just find out later!
As for the other one, Converter, he got the gist of it, literally. But still, he wanted its detail.

Points that you get from your skills will be collected to Physical and Mind Points.
You can distribute it to each attribute respectively as you desire.

Nick thought hard after looking at the explanations. So I don''t need to increase all the attributes, just one for each type and I can choose which one from the available points, huh? I''ll just try it later.
As for level, he needed his first soul emblem. You need to condense your soul emblem at level zero, ten, twenty, thirty, and so on to keep climbing. It was the accumulations of what you have learned, be it skills, essence, or whatever. It was quite mysterious, but one word it represented, preparation.
Class and job could be thought later. The class wouldn''t change until level ten when you decided which class suited your path better. As for the job, it had the same meaning literally.
The rests were easy to understand. Even though he wasn''t an addicted gamer, he had played it a couple of times in the past. So he pondered which one that could benefit him the most, especially in this ''early-games'' period and the traits he possessed.
The school''s first day finished in the afternoon, without him trying to socialize too much with his classmates. He only tried to remember a couple of necessary names, like the one that was selected as class''s representative, the Big-Glasses Rud, and the one that was seated beside him, the noisy-dude Glenn. There was also the boy that kept pestering his big sister, the fatty Barn. There were several unimportant characters, but who cares.
After saying goodbye to his teacher, Nick arrived at the school''s gate. He wanted to use the public bus to the store, he saw the silhouette of his mother.
"Mom, you''re here? You didn''t need to pick me up, I can use the bus you know?"
"It''s only your first day. I''ll promise only today, okay? Come, let''s go back together!" Helena smiled, stretching her hand toward him. Nick pouted a bit, held it with his own.
On the bus, Nick told her about his day at school after he was questioned by his mother. It was till he asked his mother about his bloodline, as for his other traits, he kept it to himself.
"So what do you think, son?" Helena smiled at her bright son.
"Since I have this bloodline, it means either you or father has the same bloodline. Am I right?" Nick looked straight into her eyes.
"You are right. It''s me that has the bloodline." Helena said, then continued hesitantly, "You don''t want to ask why?"
He observed at her expression for a moment, "As the holder of bloodline power, our family should have some fame like the Roberts family. But looking at our situation, you should have some difficulty, right?"
"As expected of my son, yes, you are right," she stroked his hair lovingly.
"I won''t ask about it if you are not ready to tell me, Mom. But I want to ask, did he know?"
Helena smiled tenderly at his son. He was thoughtful and caring, he worried about his dad rather than fulfilled his curiosity. She was proud to have this boy as her son, "Your dad knew it before we got married, you don''t need to worry about him."
Nick nodded at her answer, suddenly he felt his body was pulled to a warm embrace of his mother.
"Mom, what are you doing! It''s embarrassing!" Nick''s face reddened in embarrassment. He struggled a bit but no avail.
"Mom couldn''t help after seeing your handsome look! Ah, I don''t know that my Nick could be shy too! I don''t want to let you go!" Helena was happy looking at his son''s face a bit flustered.
"I''ll lose my face, mom! We are still on the bus, you know!" Nick was exasperated at his mom''s antics.
"What face a kid like you have, you brat?" Helena playfully pinched his cheeks. After that she said in a low voice, "Thank you, I promise I''ll tell you later when you are older. Just promise mom that you will not say to a single body that you have bloodline power. And don''t use your essence power, okay?"
"I have essence power too?" Nick stopped his struggling, dumbfounded after hearing her words.
"Mmhm, Qilin bloodline has an innate ability. It was lightning essence, one of the most destructive and unstable elements. Promise mother, okay?" Helena looked straight at his son. She said that as if she was begging him.
Nick couldn''t say anything more after his mother showed her pitiful look, well he was going to agree in the first place anyway.
Helena smiled brightly, continued her teasing toward her son. Nick could only struggle and hold his embarrassment as the bus rushed toward the next stop.
A week later
His school''s days ran as usual. He gained many inspirations from the teacher and the books from the school''s library. Since the emergence of the portal, humans could use the system in the environment filled with spirit energy. It had been years but the amount of spirit energy still lacking. Even the blessing process could be completed only with help from spirit crystal. So don''t talk about how to leveling up to a higher level.
This was also a piece of good news since the lack of spirit energy, the strong would be restricted the moment they enter this world. That was also why this world called a safe world for humanity because no matter what happened on the other side, this place would always be their last home.
But for the talented and the ones that aspired to become heroes of the generations, then Chaotic Territories was their place.
Besides the little bit of information on the other sides, Nick found there were many other races besides humans. Well, just from his bloodline he knew that his ancestor should have dealt with some Qilin. Roberts Family should have some dealings with Phoenix.
As for attribute, he decided to increase his Endurance and Resilience at the start. He could only accumulate points from the skills he practiced. So it was more important to increase both attributes since they could help increase his skill''s proficiency with higher intensity and repetitions. They were focused on increasing Stamina too.
Perception should be on his list too. This was his highest attribute. He had done a little study in the library, it was so hard to increase it at the start with skill points since the skill that raised the Perception attribute was exceptionally rare. He was lucky because, with his converter, he could raise it with any mind attribute skills.
There was also his essence and mastery. But since his mother asked him to not use it publicly, he decided to check it later. Well, it''s more like he didn''t know how to use the lightning essence. Even it was part of his bloodline, comprehension and correct training method was needed. His mother said she would teach him when he was old enough. So, that''s that.
The questions left now were the skills. For physical attributes, he could come with several ideas in mind. Physical exercises such as running, push-up, sit-up, and etcetera could be a good start. There were also martial arts like karate, judo, and many others.
Well, there was one that popped up to his mind recently. He could ask his father to teach him forging. It was a good choice since blacksmith was quite a popular job in Chaotic Territories. Even the technology had advantages in higher efficiency and quality guarantee, the high tier blacksmith was not something could be substitute with a mere technology.
As for mind attributes, he was quite lost because of a lack of choice. He could only come up with meditation, but it still left a bad taste since he wasn''t satisfied with only that. So he had to work out something.
He wanted to ask his mother since she seemed to have quite knowledgeable about this. It would be for the best if it could come with something like blacksmith since a person with many jobs had quite a good prospect in life.
