《Arlo》 Ch01: The beginning Arlo woke up in a pitch-dark room and couldn¡¯t see anything. He rubbed his eyes a couple of times but to no avail. He simply couldn¡¯t see. All of a sudden, he sawa box: |Reincarnation in progress¡­...15%. | ¡®What¡¯s going on? Is this what I think it is!¡¯ He was beyond excited but with that came a lot of questions: would he be reincarnated at the same time, same place or not? This was bugging him a lot but after some time, he finally got his answer. |Destination: Volphyr | ¡®Where the heck is that place!?¡¯ |You have been granted three skills. Choose three skills from the list. Do you wish | |to see the list? (Y/N) | He was really curious when this popped up and hurriedly decided to go for it. ¡®Yes¡¯. All of a sudden there was a list of skills. He knew that he has to choose three from them but first he needs to understand them. After some time, he got used to how the list worked. Once he concentrates on a skill from the list, he could see the description of the skill. But once he read the description he got baffled. There were skills related to magic, does that mean there will be magic in the word he is going. He needs to be careful and go through as much of them as possible. He was learning and grasping all the skills along with the stat available in this new world. After going through a lot of skill he stumbled upon a skill that intrigued him a lot. |Revenge of the fallen [Passive][Level Up: N][Restricted] | |Description: For every 10% loss of HP, every stat increase by 25%. | This was a seriously powerful skill. But he didn¡¯t understand why there was a ¡®[Restricted]¡¯ tag in it. He has seen tags of this type on all skills, but most of them were ¡®[General]¡¯, ¡®[Rare]¡¯, ¡®[Legendary]¡¯ etc. So, he presumes that this tag dictatesthe likelihood of getting this skill. Does that mean he will not be able to acquire it? Just as he was concentrating on the word ¡®[Restricted]¡¯, an explanation came in. |[Restricted]: These types of skills can only be acquired in this room. | Now it all made sense, basically, it means that all the other skills can be acquired on that planet but the ¡®[Restricted]¡¯ types of skills can only be acquired here. That means he should focus more on these types of skills. As time went on, he found more skills in this class and all of them were seriously out of balance. He has decided to go through all the skills before finalizing his skillsetas he doesn¡¯t want to make a mistake in the selection. It took him 7 days to finish reading all the skills. It was an exhausting process but after going through all the skills, he finally made up his mind. The reasoning was simple: if somehow, he gets one-shot by a powerful being, he can use his [Revive] and [Omnipotent] skill in conjunction and kill that being. So, he decided to go ahead with this plan and confirmed his selection. After his confirmation, he felt an intense pain in his head as all the information about the skills he selected as well as basic information about the world was ingrained in his brain. He felt like he knew how to use them for a long time. With that out of the way he saw another box: |Now you will be teleported to Volphyr. Good luck with your journey. | Ch02: Forest of Rei Arlo was lying on a field surrounded by trees. If one could see it from the top, one will see a big forest with a small patch of grassland where Arlo is sleeping right now. After some time, Arlo wakes up with a dizzying feeling. ¡®Where am I?¡¯ As soon as his mind started working, he was astonished! He expected to be reincarnated as a baby but here he was, stranded in a no man¡¯s land surrounded by a forest. He soon realized he wasn¡¯t exactly a kid either. As he had the basic knowledge of this world, he knew how to check his status and it came naturally to him. But what was bugging him was his level itself. He knew that people here start training at an early age and so by the time they are 13 years old their average level is around 5. What is more frightening is that this average was for common people when it comes to noble, their average is about 10. All this means is that he has a lot of catch up to do. Arlo made up his mind that he will do his best to catch up to them as quickly as he can. He doesn¡¯t plan on leading a mediocre life this time around. ¡®Now, which way should I go? Maybe west??¡¯ Arlo pondered cluelessly as he had no idea where to go. He wanted to get out of this forest and meet human settlement as quickly as possible. So, he picked a direction and started walking. As he was going through the forest, he was extra careful, he didn¡¯t want to catch attention to powerful monsters. After some walking, he spotted some werewolf and walked past them without catching their attention. He did this maneuver a couple of times before a group of five goblins spotted him. ¡®Shit, just my rotten luck!¡¯ he thought. He inspected them and found that most of them were around level 5 with the highest being level 7. But that also has its drawback, for example, his [Strength of Titan] skill has a cooldown period of 10 min and can be used for 2 min at most. Also, once he fully uses that skill, it takes 2 hours to fully charge it back to 2 min. He was thinking especially about the part where he will be vulnerable after his use of the skill, but what he didn¡¯t realize was that he was being overcautious and overthinking in front of danger. When you are already in front of the battlefield, you don¡¯t strategize; what you need is tactics! Just as he was thinking what to do, an arrow flew aiming for his chest, he was just too careless! No time to think¡¯ with that thought Arlo used [Strength of Titan]. Arlo [Human] AGE: 13 LVL: 01 HP: 936/936 MANA: 820/820 STAMINA: 820/820 STR: 11(+55) DEF: 8 DEX: 9 MAG: 9 INT: 10 SPD: 12(+60) All of a sudden, all his senses were sharp, and he could perceive time slowly as his speed has gotten much faster. In his mind, he already knew he had to go for the archer. Archer was the most troublesome of the bunch here and if he doesn¡¯t get rid of it, he may get into trouble. He started moving for the archer, and before any of the goblins could react, he was already behind the archer. [You did 600 damage to your opponent.] [You did 600 damage to your opponent.] After his two consecutive punch, the goblin archer has flown away, but Arlo is already in front of the goblin and aimed for its heart! They didn¡¯t expect their opponent to be this strong. While they were shocked, Arlo was already in front of the strongest goblin and punched it three times in a row, which sent it to its knees. Your opponent is stunned.] Not missing the opportunity Arlo killed the goblin without hesitation. Arlo picked up the sword and the bow and left the place making sure that no one was following him. Once he was far away, he deactivated his skill and looked at the two weapons he got. I would rather not use my skill points, but I need to use my stat point.¡¯ The reasoning behind this was simple, he was in a dangerous area and he needs every strength he can get. Last time was really close. Its not like he overpowered them. They were simply too slow! If there was even one attacker who had speed he would have died back there. So he needs to get strong and as his aim was to become a magic swordsman, he distributed all his points evenly.
