《From Sanity to Calamity》 Prologue - The End is Where It Begins ''Urgh, why do I even bother, this bitch is crazy'' I thought as I put down the phone. The lady who I was talking to, has been calling the support service of our company for 3 days. That''s right. Three, fucking, days. She has been complaining for past three days about a certain bug she was ''experiencing'' in one of the games that the company I am working on made. First day she called, she was normal, telling me about the bug and asking me if it is an issue with her computer, or was it a problem from our side. I wrote all the details about the bug and sent it to one of my friends who is a developer on this game called "The Calamity". To sum this complex game up, it is an MMORPG, you play as a human character in a world full of monsters, with only other players resembling anything normal in that world. It is suprisingly popular game, which I myself played for some time, until I got outright addicted and started spending my money on the game. I quickly lost almost all my money on the game, but there is a better term for what I did, and it''s named gambling. In any case, I needed a job, and found this one was paying quite well, and they were even recruiting ! So I took my chance, and I am not dissapointed in a slightest. Although there are some quite interesting, and outright rude people calling, we always find a way to fix the problem. Well, until today. As I sent the description of game bug to my friend, he quickly found out that no such bug even existed, and it was even outright impossible to even exist, even if it was a problem on her side. As I told her that, she started screaming and arguing about her tellong the truth and that she would call my manager. ''A typical Karen, wouldn''t be suprised if she was blonde and had kids too.'' I thought with a small smirk forming on my face. As I was about to start playing the game, since it is allowed to do so when noone is calling, the phone unfortunately rang again. ''Aw shit, here we go again...'' I thought as I put my headphones on and increasing the volume, since it seems most of people calling are barely heard, a problem on their part. "Hello, this is "The Calamity" support service. What can I do for you?" I asked in same, professional way as I have always did since I took this job.The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. "Hey there, I think you remember me, don''t you?" The voice on the other side said, and it was definitely familiar voice, a woman''s voice. ''I think I am gonna commit suicide if she calls me everyday.'' "Yeah, you called because of a certain bug you reported, which turned out to be false. What can I do for you?" I asked, my voice not changing in any way, a skill I perfected over time. "Oh yes, you are right, William Warren." she said in a sarcastic and mocking voice ''Holy shit, this bitch somehow knows my name. What in the flying fuck.'' I thought, slowly starting to get anxious. "May I ask who is this William person? And please if you don''t have anything to report, I would suggest you call when you have a legitimate reason." I said, slowly hearing my voice trembling, although barely. "Oh you don''t huh? Anyway I have a reason to call you cunt." She said as she started to slowly laugh. ''Fucking creep, should report her to her manager instead. And I may even report her to authorities. No, I will definitely report her. Bitch is crazy.'' I thought as I started speaking again. "Then can you tell me the reason, miss?" I asked. "Oh you will fucking hear it." She said as I started hearing some weird sounds. "Miss, if you don''t have any reason, I will need to repo-" My words were cut halfway as I heard the loudest fucking sound through my headphones. I immediately screamed as my ears and my head started hurting like they were being melted by the lava itself from the earth''s core. Immediately after, the sound stopped, but my head still hurt like hell until I couldn''t even feel my head. I couldn''t feel it. One second after, I feel from my chair in my office and I hit the floor, laying on it, facing the sealing. The sensation in my head was weird, enormous, yet nonexistent, as my vision started to sloely darken, as if someone was spilling the darkest possible liquid on my eyes. After some 4 seconds or so, my vision was completely dark, and at the same time, I lost the ability to feel any part of my body. I was dead. The thought, or something similar to the concept of thought flashed through my mind, if I even had one. I knew I was dead, and even how I died. Apparently, that bitch released the loudest fucking sound imaginable, which ruptured, or wuite literally, absolutely destroyed my eardrums and in turn, my brain. Yes, that was how fucking loud it was. I hope she died along with me, atleast. In any case, suprisingly I wasn''t feeling that sad, or even angry that I died. As if I was deprived of my very humanity, or the part of it that can feel and share emotions. There was still some resentment to that bitch, and I would certanly kill her if I saw her, but I was not that angry so that I would focus my whole existence only on killing her. Well, since I died, and I seem to be located in some sort of void, probably some empty dimension. Or it may be great nothingness, the nothingess that german philospoher spoke of. Nietzche was his name I think. Had some interesting thoughts as far as I can rememeber. And it seems he was right. There is nothing after death. Well, there was nothing, until I head a peculiar, mechanical sort of voice in my mind, or what is equivalent of my mind, my conciousness maybe? I any case, the voice started speaking.

Can''t blame them, it was pretty lame death, but if we are to be honest, statistically 99% of people would have died. The unfortunate 1% would have been left crippled, deformed, or who knows what.''I thought. But back to reality, this screen, window, or whatever this thing is, reminds me slightly of UI from some of old RPG games I have played when I was young. That may be what this is, but still doesn''t explain why this thing exists in this dimension, or as I personally named it, "The Great Nothingness". Well, I am not complaining, if I atleast have a game-like screen here, it may not be so boring for a few years, since I definitely think I will remain here forever. ''Heh, I have died, or killed to be exact, appeared in The Great Nothingness, and I got a fucking game-like screen floating here, in my mind, or whatevee the fuck is the definition of a human mind here. I don''t know how I am not crazy by now. I should be screaming, crying, thinking about my life, or to be exact, what a normal human should do. And yet, I do not feel anything, as if I was deprived of feeling, and yet again, I can think...'' ''Fucking crazy...'' In any case, since there is literally nothing around me, I started looking at the floating screen. And I did it for a very long time, looking at every, single, detail, it had. For example, I like those yellow lines around the box. It adds some estetic to it. It may be even beautiful. ''Everything becomes beautiful when you are here it seems.''
It''s... It''s been... ''It''s been 3 fucking days, and nothing changed in this box, or screen. It can techincally be both? But the diameter... and it''s dimensions...'' Well, you may ask, how do I know it has been 3 days, since I am now inside literal definition of nothingness? I counted. I counted every, single, second. If you are wondering, 3 days has 259.000 secondsin it. Yes, that is right, that much seconds. Aaaaand, I forgot to count these couple of seconds... Aaaanyway, along with that, I observed the floating screen and came to this deduction. I couldn''t deduceanything. Yes, since I have no sense of touch, or anything, except my ability to think somehow, I couldn''t deduce how it feels upon touch, nor anything. I have a few theories, like that this screen or box may be a holograph, a creation of my mind, or I am outright having an illusion and I am wasting my fucking time right now. ''Urgh, you know what, I wish it can just go away !''I thought, but I really shouldn''t have done that, considering what happened next. Yes, you guessed it, the floating screen dissapeared. It dissapeared. ''No no no no no no no, don''t you dare to go away from me ! Come fucking back !''I shouted inwardly, which of course had no fucking effect. After about 30 or so minutes of me calling myself a moron, an idiot, a demented bastard and among many other things that should not be said, I calmed down. ''Okay so, it seems to react on voice commands, or in this case mental commands?'' I came to that deduction immediately. Now, thr only logical thing to do bow was to try and see to which words this thing reacts right? Not so easy. ''React, status, game, inventory, settings?'' Were just one of many things I said in my mind trying to force the screen to come back, which didn''t work. ''Isn''t that screen game-like? How does it not react to these commands/words?'' ''Ummmm... Maybe this word...'' ''...Next...?'' And that is when, I heard the same robotic voice in my mind again.
Cause of Death
Due to very loud sound being released over the phone (around 230 dB) which resulted in the shattering of your eardrums, and subsequently, death.
Fun fact : The loudest sound ever recorded was during Krakatoa Volcanic Eruption (310 dB) back in 1883 !
''Oh dear god... I have finally found it... the one, the only voice... And the first thing it tells me after it dissapeared was the cause of my fucking death, in slightly more detail. I was also very carefull to not say the ''word''because I wanted to analyze everything that I can from this floating screen. Can''t have another screen dissapear without getting every single detail from it. And just like that, I spent about 2 hours or so carefully analyzing the screen, much shorter than the last time, because there wasn''t that much to even discover. So I decided to continue with my great adventure. ''Why am I even wasting time observing a screen... Next...''

Anyway, there are many other things I have thought about, many theories I have made, but most of them have either no evidence, or are outright stupid. As I said, I will use this time I have left, however much that is, until the decision for my life is presented, and sadly I am not the one who chooses. Day 6621 It resounded in my mind, the ding, and the same robotic voice that I have been waiting for for more than 18 years has appeared again. I was not particulary scared of the method, but I was slightly scared of what I would become in my next life. I even thought of options of me becoming a slug, a worm, or even becoming human, again. I have plans for all of them, and more. In any case, immediately after 15 minutes passed, I got two floating screens. One had a roulette with every section of it having a question mark. The second screen was the good ol'' screen with bunch of text.

In an underground cave, just below the surface, there was a rabbit-like creature with demonic horns and vampiric teeth. It was gray, with green eyes that showed eternal desire for eating. The collectively accepted name of this species acrossArgia by scientists was Viridi Sanguinem Leporis, or Viridi rabbits by uneducated ones. Right now, it was doing it''s usual business, looking around the dark cave with it''s green eyes that enchances the rabbit''s vision in the dark. Some time has passed, and it still hasn''t found it''s new prey, to eat on it, to mangle on it, tosatisfyit''s everlasting hunger. As it moved around without any regard where it moved, it suddenly ecountered an pure black, egg-like object laying in a secluded part of this system of caves. It looked at it confusingly, since it never saw anything like this before. But the hunger quickly returned, making the creature slowly but surely reaching the object. It started looking at it very carefully, making sure it was not one ofthosecreatures. When it got it''s confirmation, it starter scratching the object with it''s fangs in quick succession, but found out it''s actions didn''t even leave a scratch on the object. Not a single one. Angry at it''s unsuccessfull attempt, it started attacking it again with it''s fangs even faster, and after a while, it started punching, kicking, and even biting into the object, but the object never even budged, let alone damaging it. It started moving faster and faster, unyil it got tired and stopped very close to the egg. As he closed it''s eyes for a second due to slight fatigue, it heard a cracking sound, along with noticing a hand that stabbed through the creature''s torso.

As I said that, my whole body broke through, leaving the top part of the egg in shatters. As expected, it was dark as it can get, so I activated the Night Vision ability of my eyes and found out that I am in a cave, or precisely, in one of the rooms that this cave may have, since I see the exit right ahead of me. I then look at the creature that I killed, and it seems to be a hybrid of a rabbit, a demon and a vampire, with it''s horns on it''s head, huge teeth and... green eyes? Then I notice the open torso of the unfortunate creature. I can see the guts inside, and many other abnormal organs that I am not able to recognize. Immediately, I felt unease in my body and vomited. On the ground, in a cabe, lies a creature, currently asleep. It is truly beautiful one. Although it is small now, it will surely grow to become extraordinary being. It is small, at a size of a normal dog on Earth, with a little bit of fat. It has a small tail that barely extends out of the creature''s body, at around 10 centimeters (0.39 inches). It is completely black in color, like it was born in darkness itself. It also has some strange extensions on it''s back, with no apparent purpose. It''s claws white, like they were made out of pure light from the sun. Besides it, lies a skeletal remains of a unfortunate creature that may have been killed by the sleeping creature. It''s mana long gone, and with huge cracks on the bones, this creature surely wouldn''t rest in peace. Finally, the creature opens it''s eyes. They are pure yellow. They are so full of energy, yet so tired. When one looks at them, they would the most beautiful eyes ever born in Mirari, the eyes that look like they see right through your flesh and soul. The creature finally gets up, and starts it''s new journey.
