《Human Nature Never Change.》 Chapter 1 "Motionless" Seth was lying in a ditch, feeling a small stream of cold water trickling down his face. He tried looking around him, but his head would not move. He could see, but it was heavy fog around him, with a dimmed light coming from above and, the only sound he could hear was water trickling in the creek. He could feel his legs and arms but was unable to move them. Fear and panic started filling his mind as the realization of being paralyzed from head to toe materialized. "Calm down, breathe in, breathe out," he told himself, slowly coming back to his senses. "What is the last thing I can remember?" Seth asked himself while trying to remember, soon convincing himself this was a strange dream of some sort. "That¡¯s right; it can¡¯t be anything else than a dream, I can only see fog and, I can¡¯t move an inch, but I can feel the cold water." As panic once again started overtaking Seth, he could hear a faint sound of hoofs on gravel and a slow rhythmicsqueaking of a wooden wheel. As the sound came closer, Seth started screaming, ¡°Help is anyone there?¡± The sounds stopped, and then, a grunt and footsteps. Seth could see a man looking down at him; he was large around the middle with a rough face and big brown beard. Wearing something Seth had only seen in movies before. It was a leather west, saggy grey pants and a somewhat white tunic under the west, lastly a short sword in his hand. ¡°What happened here, boy?¡± The man asked, looking unfaced at the sight of a naked boy lying unmoving in the ditch. ¡°Help, please,¡± the boy begged, voice cracking. ¡°What happened here? Tell me before I leave,¡± the man said angrily. ¡°I don¡¯t know, I don¡¯t know where I am or what happened, one minute I was home inside my house and then I...¡± Seth started rambling in a panic until the man stopped him. ¡°They must have robbed you good if you can¡¯t even remember. How low is your stats boy? Did they leave you anything?¡± the man asked. ¡°Stats? What is that?¡± Seth asked, baffled by hearing something that sounded like a gamemechanic. The man was visibly annoyed and simply said: ¡°Repeat after me, Status.¡± As Seth said the word, a message window appeared in front of him. Name: Seth Family name: N/A Unauthorized use of content: if you find this story on Amazon, report the violation. Race: Human Civil standing: Free Citizen Status: Health: 1 Error Not found Error Not found Error Not found Error Not found Error Not found... ... ¡®That was a lot of errors¡¯ Seth thought to himself as he started telling the man what he was reading, ¡°It says my name, Race and something about a Free Citizen and, and my Health is 1. Everything else says Error Not Found¡±, Sethstammered. The man looked to be a little surprised by something but walked back to his cart. Seth kept quiet as he waited for the man to return; at least he hoped he would. The anxiety once again started coming back. Before a full-blown panic attack began, the man had returned, this time with a cute white rabbit in his hand and a dagger in the other. Even before Seth could utter a word, the man placed the knife in Seth`s hand and simply stab the rabbit through its neck, and then it was dead. His first time killing something and it had happened so fast and easy like life did not mean anything. It was so anti-climactic, and the only thing left was a lifeless white rabbit, with red blood round its neck. ¡°Try it now,¡± the man said, Seth was confused for a second before he realized and almost shouted ¡°Status!¡±. This time there were no errors. As Seth opened the Status screen, the man simply stated: ¡°put one point in as many stats as you can, starting from the top.¡±

Chapter 4 "please dont kill me" Unauthorized use of content: if you find this story on Amazon, report the violation. Chapter 5 "Just a kiss" The next day snow had started falling, the temperature had fallen far below freezing. Seth and Sarah were still in bed, both had woken up. But between feeling the cold air outside the covers and getting affection from each other, they both had been deprived of they simply did not want to move. ¡°Breakfast is ready¡± Harold yelled from the living room. ¡°You two love birds can stop pretending to sleep now¡± Helga continued. They both where having too much fun about this, or just enjoying seeing them slowly falling for each other. Seth and Sarah both embarrassed, walked out of the bedroom, Sarah holding on to his shirt from behind. ¡°I will go to the mine today Seth said¡± Before they could tease Him and Sarah anymore,¡± Can I come too?¡± Sarah asked, most likely wanting to run away as much Seth wanted. ¡°You have to stay here; I need a little help inside¡± Helga said with a smile. Seth hurried outside taking with him some supplies and a winter coat, almost running all the way up to the mine. But on his way, he bought both the skill and . Do to it being bought in the Tinkerer profession they were only limited versions of the original¡¯s, as Mining level faster and had a higher drop rate when it was in the profession ¡°Miner¡±, when bought for tinkerer it started at 5% drop-rate, and ended at 50%. Or so the system told him, it was strange having the world controlled by stats, or at least see that it was. Seth prepared himself outside the mine, and walked inside. His luminating the mine around him, but not far away the dark waited patiently. His drained one mana per minute, reducing his regeneration from 1,94 to only 0,94 mana per minute. Seth walked further and further inside, soon the entrance was not even visible. It was claustrophobic inside the cave, but he started controlling his breathing, focusing on it to lessen his awareness. The walls had sharp edges, wooden beams every few meters, with planks in between to hold back the gravel. And the orange light from the orb made it just as exciting as it was terrifying. The tunnel started splitting up and Seth took a right every time it did. The darkness closing in behind him, and hiding in front of him. Seth looked at the walls, looking to see if there were any hints to how ore was found. And it was then he saw it after walking for about half an hour. In the wall there where a crack, and inside he could see an orange metal. ¡°¡± Seth said, 20 mana drain from his total of 80. ¡°¡± the system responded, Seth took out his pick and started hammering at the vain, it hits and the skill leveled to lvl2, after four more it leveled to lvl3, another 9 hits and it was lvl4, then 16 hits, 25 hits, 36 hits. It was already at level 7, but his stamina was almost empty and noorehad dropped. He waited for almost an hour in the dark tunnel, before his stamina had full returned. And on the next hits it dropped small rocks that had orange metal extruding from them, exactly like a game he thought to himself, after dropping his stamina to 1/3 he had as much as he could carry in his backpack and started finding his was back, he had forgot about the darkness while working. But now it was like it was looking at him, biting at his light, and then he stumbled and as soon as his foot touched a shadow it bit him. <10 health lost> Seth snapped back his foot. It was not bleeding badly and soon he could see et closing up like magic as his health points was returning. Seth said looking at the darkness, 20 mana was lost and the system answered . Seth started running to the exit not wanting those rats to bite him again. Running compared to slowly walking; he was outside in minutes; his Stamina had almost been depleted but he was outside. He looked back at the entrance to the mine and yelled.Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. Hethrowsit inside the mine, it was not an explosion that happen, but a small inferno that lasted for a second inside. ¡. Twelve times, the system returned this message. Why did he suddenly get messages like this, it had not happened before with the slimes and rabbit. Remembering Harold advise he tried ¡°¡± Seth asked the air around him. . Seth continued asking questions, like ¡°why have I been transferred here¡±, ¡°what are this place¡± and so on. But the system did no reply to any of them. It only did so when it had a direct connection to a skill. Not wanting to meet the shadow rats once more today he heads back to the farm. Coming back, he remembered why he had been in such a hurry to leave, in his excitement to show Harold what he had found, he had gotten eleven rocks with copper in them. But the wagon was gone, he entered the house, looking around not finding anyone but Sarah sitting there alone with her knitting. ¡°how¡¯s there¡± Sarah asked. ¡°it¡¯s me Seth, where are the others?¡± ¡°Mom and Dad left; they were going to ask you this morning but forgot, they are on their way to the city with the barley, dad got both wagons out of the barn and stocked both full, they said it was almost too much, so they took both the ox¡¯s and the horse¡± ¡°So,we are alone?¡± Seth asked ¡°Yes, about that, mom had a talk with me¡± Sarah was blushing but she continued ¡°They approve of us, if we want to; be together¡± Seth had a mix of emotions, and really did not know what to say, this had come out of no were. Or had it, he really did not know the customs here and he did not dislike the idea, but this was moving so fast, he had only been here for about 2 weeks, and most of the time Sarah had hated him. ¡°But, did you not hate me just days ago?¡± Seth asked and know he had fucked up asking it. ¡°I did not hate you; I was, I was.¡± Sarah struggled to say it, ¡°I was jealous of you okay, you helped them while I¡¯m only a burden¡± ¡°No, you''re not, they love you and I never take your place Sarah¡± Seth said, and at this point he had moved over holding her hand. ¡°Can we continue reading today?¡± Sarah asked, ¡°I¡¯m just your personal book reader aren¡¯t I¡± Seth replied. ¡°Yes, but you are warmer andcozier¡± Sarah said. Seth walk back to the bedroom to pick up the book and return when Sarah already was behind him, almost diving into his bed. Seth had just started reading as Sarah asked ¡°do you like me?¡±. Seth could not really think of what to say, the easiest was just to say yes, but he really did not know, he was attracted to her and he had started enjoying their time together. But did he like her like that? Mostly sure of himself he answered ¡°Yes, I do, I don¡¯t know where this is going, but I want to find out¡± ¡°¡± ¡°¡± ¡°¡± he said before blacking out, the skill cost 80 mana, and he only had 80 mana. As he was waking up, a crying girl was looking at him, slapping him, begging him to wake up. Wait she was looking at him, she was looking at him! He looked up at her and as soon as he did, she embraced him, not letting go. They stayed like that for minutes while she was crying and thanking him in a strange mix. They locked eyes, she had blue eyes, lovely blue eyes. They looked at each other, lips coming closer, her lips twitching and wanting to. Seth looked at her lips wanting their lips to meet. He could feel her breathing out her nose and it hitting his lips, her long hair falling to the sides around them. And then their lips meet, they were so soft. The kiss lasted for seconds, before the next one come, so much excitement and tensed up feelings where realized at once. Cloths started getting removed, he could feel her skin against his, her soft breast on top of him. It had happened so fast, none of them had the power to slow it down or even think, hormones had taken over. That evening they talked, and laughed, they both were happy, but what got them together was reading a book. And so, this time Sarah was reading for Seth, while in his arms. Stealing kiss¡¯s, toughing her bare skin and love each other. The next day, they had woken up late in the day, and they heard the fire cracking out in the living room. This time he was going to die, he could not say nothing happened this time. But before he could say anything Sarah stared running out into the living room. ¡°Mom! Dad! I can see!! Seth cured me! I can see!!¡± and then a cold breeze toughed her naked skin and she looked down. ¡°Seth how are you going to explain this one!¡± Harold shouted into the bedroom. <2>

Here he could see that adding points to strength; added 1 Health Point, 7 Stamina, 0,2 to stamina regeneration. But when it comes to Physical defense it was simply an ¡°x¡± showing that it had an effect but not what it did. And lastly, Physical attack was increased with 5 points. And so, continued the tablet, the list above continued with Constitution, Dexterity, Resilience, Intelligence, Wisdom, Willpower and Perception. Showing below them what they did with the list to the left. He had tried to ask the system about the ¡°x¡± at defense and only got an answer that said, ¡°< value diminish per point added>¡± Seth knows that going into that mine would mean more shadow rats and flying rats, sorry bats. He had lost 10 points from a single bite last time, and with his 195 Health pool that meant nineteen and a half bites and he was dead. Rats and flying rats were known to usually be more than one or two when left alone to procreate. But at the same time, he did not want to use his points in native as they could be used for far better skills even if the system had refused to let him in to see saying ¡°¡±. So, he added points from native so that every stat was closer to 10 points in it from native. The 20 points from Mage were added to both Intelligence, wisdom and Constitution. Making his fire spell ¡°more better¡± and being able to ¡°live long and prosper¡±, for a total of 60 points.

He had over doubled his health and health regeneration. And almost everything else, he could see that there was a difference between Stamina base and its total, and remember his skill < Minor Stamina Boost> adding 10% after leveling up to level 10. After all this he noticed that his memories were flowing back after adding points to both Intelligence and Wisdom, so they affected other things than just a numerical value. He remembers a lot more about his previous life, and that he had chosen this or at least it was his fault. He had taken his car, speeding down the road, just to feel the rush, going past 200Km/h on a narrow gravel road, and one mistake had made him and a large oak best-friend forever. It was a closed road, it was, he was trying to remember more about it, he had not put others in danger or at least he thinks he did not. No, he did, he had a passenger, he, no she was wearing a helmet, they were racing, that was is, he remembers she was screaming at him, begging him to be alive, she was only bruised and beaten up and luckily the tree had hit his door and stopped inside his seat. His best friend was alive, it calmed him in a way, knowing he had not killed her. So, he had died once, he could not remember any pain and even if he tried to remember some parts of his old life it was still hard to do so. But he now felt ready to finally step inside the mine once more. The darkness was almost welcoming him back like an old friend. Chapter 8 "Fire Mage" Seth entered the Mine, just as he crossed the boundary between light and dark, nothing happened, no bite, nothing. He had not activated his spell yet, just to make sure it was not the darkness that was dangerous but the creatures inside it. he said, the mana was drawn from his mana pool and no reply. "That''s a little anti-climactic," he thought to himself. He said, and a blueish light orb manifested above his head, "Strange" He thought, it changed color from it usually orange glow. Could he maybe change the color or maybe it changed dependent on his Intelligent or wisdom stats? Not wanting to use more time he continued down the mining shaft. He walks back to the exact place he had been and found nothing, the ore vein was gone. "They must have a time limit or something" Seth stated to himself, finding it comforting talking to himself in this darkness. The darkness was an absolute black, eating the light emitting from the light orb, he had a much larger radius of light compared to the orange glow, but still, he could feel something in the darkness looking back at him. "" He said, the mana disappeared but still no reply. He looked at the walls, the stone was getting darker and darker, and the tunnel was never-ending. He started getting paranoid, had it not been for two things, his magical light and the fact that the tunnel was spacious he would have returned a lot sooner. Thinking he had goon to far inside the tunnel, and his unknown claustrophobia appearing he was thinking of returning, but wanted to find a new vein of ore, his inner greed getting the better of him. He had walked for over an hour or more, he did not know time as he had no clock, but it felt a lot longer than last time at least. he started counting steps, "Should have started that from the beginning?" he told himself, before forgetting what number he was on. He had gotten up to 170, or so he believed before forgetting to count, it had no meaning for now anyway. Time passed and the tunnel had just continued with a slight slope upwards. Even with his stamina doubled it was still draining, he had lost over a quarter and that was with his increased stamina regeneration. Continuing analyzing the darkness as he walked, and sometimes the wall when it looked a little strange compared to everything else. The darkness was just at the edge of where the light ended, was it him or had the light diminished a little? Finally, he found it, . The system did not give him any more information other than its level, not its health or anything useful. Before he could think, he shouted: "". He was lucky, he threw it dead straight, going further then he thought it would. But the inferno in front of him was terrifying, it lasted longer than he remembered but it did not expand that much further than last time. He looked up the skill while thinking he should be more careful with that spell.The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

So it originally had a diameter of 2 meters, and now it was 2,2 meters, meaning it would increase when the skill level. Its cost was fixed at 20 mana per casting, and the damage was 180dgm for everything inside the inferno. calling it an explosion was just wrong though. The inferno had died down within seconds, and the Shadow rat? < Shadow Rat Lvl 8 Killed><600Exp Gained> He had not Leveled this time, as he needed a total of 17430Exp for this level and not knowing how close he was to level, he had no idea when he would level. But fire seemed like a great way of killing them, had it not been for the fact that everything that was supporting the mine shafts walls and roof was wood. he looked closely at the wood, it had burn marks all over but that was about it. He continued and still not finding any more rats or bats. It was so quiet, the damp stale air with the smell of rock moss and the darkness creeping after him as he walked. Until he found a large natural cavern inside, it was large compared to the shaft but still only about 20 meters across. At the opposite end was something covered in fog, it looked like a mirror inside the fog. The fog was sliding down it, covering it, just to reappear above it. The rest of the cavern looked just like the shaft without the wooden beams. Sharp black rocks, glistening with a layer of water. Seth walked closer to the mirror, it was a little taller than him and just a little wider. He lifted his hand to feel the fog. It was cold and had substance to it, just as he retracted his hand something from behind pushed him. He tried to brace himself with his arms instinctually, but instead of finding something solid he passed straight through the mirror. Chapter 9 "Dungeon" Seth stood in a room, in front of him the words "Choose your path" stood in golden letters floating in the air before vanishing without a trace. "" Seth said, But still no answer. The system suddenly warned him, what did it mean? Where they disabled or just weakened? And what path, all he could see was fog and more fog. Nothing made sense, But looking behind him, he understood there were no going back. Seth was walking, feeling his way through. As if a switch had been switched the fog cleared an area, He could see a cobblestone road, two men arguing in the middle and wooden medieval storefronts on each side with glowing orange lanterns intermittent and the fog just outside of it. The men had shortswords in their belts, both holding one hand on it. The words "Choose your path" was ringing in Seth''s mind; what was he supposed to do? Seth crept closer, running away may be the smart move, but curiosity got the better of him, hiding behind some barrels he could hear them. "Give me my pay!" "I will. I just need some time." "I have given you over a week, and I need to leave before they know!" Seth could see a small smirk on the one man''s face when he realized that stalling just a day or two more would mean that he did not have to payout. Criminals Seth figured they had to be, not wanting to cross paths with them. He tried hiding while they continued arguing, the interaction sounded scripted. They just kept saying the same thing over and over on repeat. "Think, I need to choose a path through, be it hiding in the shadows or" At that moment Seth finally figured it out, it was the Shadow-dungeon, and he had to choose a path, why not combine those two in one. Choose the path that is in the shadows. Crawling in the shadows, trying not to make a sound, he slowly made his way past them. Until "who''s there?" one man shouted, the other man instantly tried looking around himself. Just as he did, a sword pierced his chest. Seth was stunned and in panic, yelled, "". Nothing happened, except both men looking his way. Seth stopped breathing, like a kid hiding behind the curtain; he did nothing, just hoping he was invisible. The man pulled his sword out, and the other man collapsed, "not need paying a dead fool, right?" the man laughed to himself. Seth now hurried his way past unnoticed.The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement. the system suddenly showed as he yet again entered the fog. No more information was given, but even so, using a little logic, two of them where offensive skills, and the last sounded like a teleport spell. Not wanting to fight, Seth chooses Shadow-blink. Exiting the fog, he found the same scenario unfolding in front of himself, the same two men arguing. Seth used "" trying to teleport passed them and onto whatever was next. Instead, Seth teleported into the shadow of one of the men, the same man as last time draw a sword, but this time the other man was prepared and countered. Seth was just as surprised as the man, Seth pulled his pickaxe spinning around the man he was behind, and with all his force entered the pickaxe into the other man''s neck, going all the way through. They both looked at each other, "Thank you so much for helping me," the man said. "No problem," Seth answered, not knowing what to say. "You helped me out; I don''t know why this robber would attack me," the man continued. "I only saw him drawing a sword on you," Seth lied, playing along with the man''s lie. "Thank you; I would have surely died," the man continued, looking calculated and unmoved about his friends'' death. Seth only nodded and started walking away, "Hey, you forgot something," the man said. Just as Seth turned around, the man pulled the pickaxe out of his friend''s neck, blood dripping from the pickaxe, walking over to Seth, and handing it over. Just as Seth turned away with a little to much haste, Seth could hear it, the man''s sword was unsheathed with haste, "" and Seth was inside the fog. This time Seth tried fire; instead of sneakily going past the men, he simply powerwalked his way past them. "Hey you there, why in such a hurry?" one of the men asked. Not stopping to answer Seth tried continuing until he could hear them both jogging after him. Seth turned around "" he said twice in rapid succession. Seth could not see the fire, but the men were burning up in front of his eyes without smoke and flames, slowly turning to ash. Seth started throwing up. He had been thinking of the dungeon as a game, a realistic game, but still a game. He had not really killed the other man before as he was back the next time, but seeing the men screaming begging for mercy while slowly turning to ash was too much. Chapter 10 "The Lantern" Following the cobblestone road, he was not standing outside a shop with a hammer, anvil, and a crystal on a signboard over its door. Looking around, he sees two other stores, one with a sword and shield, and the next with a staff and some strange wiggly lines. Entering the first door, he jumps as the bell signaling his entry startled him. Looking around the store, he sees two tables one with a Lantern and the other with what looked like a disassembled lantern. Looking at both, he quickly understood what he needed to do, the note showing a blueprint on how to assemble the lantern was a definite hint, but he could not understand this dungeon. First, it was getting past two men, and now it was assembling a lantern. Taking a seat, he started reading, his memories once again coming back to him. He had done something similar a thousand times before. He had been taking electrical engineering, and he remembered the hours both painfully and fondly. The hours where he was trying to figure something out, and then finally, when the realization hit, the euphoric experience, the joy, and finally telling and explaining it for someone else. It was a mixture of runes and physical shapes, all in two dimensions. There were four runes; A circle with a small hole, a triangle with equal sides and with two holes, one in the middle a wall, and one straight across at the tip. Two lines are going parallel and a David-star with two lines out of its center fitting perfectly with the other runes, making them able to create different patterns. There were two red hexagon crystals with ends meeting at a single point. And two stands for holding a crystal, one fit perfectly on top of the circle and the other at the ends of the star. The first one was holding the crystal at sides and the other one only at its bottom tip. The circle was where mana was drawn from, the star where it was released to something. The triangle was a limiter so as not to overwhelm both of the crystals, and lastly, the tubes where to fit in between the others. Connecting everything, as the blueprint stated. As soon as the last piece was placed, it started lighting up with a red light. Seth was now having fun. Looking around the store, there were many other items and runes with different uses, some explained and some not. Runes had both two and three-dimensional counterparts and others that where a mix so too bridge between them.If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it''s taken without permission from the author. Report it. Seth had forgotten time in this dungeon, but his body had not forgotten, he needed food, drink, and sleep. He was exhausted, but adrenaline and excitement had kept him going so far. He looked into his backpack; there where a small bottle with blue cider, bread, and some dried meat. Sitting down eating, he was reading a book about different runes, one was with a Limiter with a second entry tube on the side, making him able to dime and turn off the light completely, but he had to continually use mana to do so. Interestingly this gave a lot of opportunities going forward. With a book in one hand and a piece of meat in the other, eyes closing longer and longer with every blink, he finally embraced the darkness. He was opening his eyes, looking around with confusion. Seth was in a bed, a large bed with silk hanging around him from above. "Good morning, my lord," A young girl standing beside the bed said. "Where am I?" Seth asked. "In your castle, my lord," She answered with a warm voice. "And that is?" "Ahh my lord, you always have the funniest jokes. Breakfast is ready, and your guest is waiting, we should hurry." "Ahh, yes," Seth simply said and stood up and out of bed. As soon as he did, the girl started undressing him, and he was in his old clothes that he had entered the mine shaft with. It was strange to have someone undress him, and standing there naked, trying to get his mind of this weird circumstance. Looking around the room, he could see a place dragged out of the Victorian-age. A white roof that was emasculated decorated and walls covered with art and soft patterns. The furnisher was soft-edged and covered in ornaments, and every furnisher had drapes hanging close to the floor. How could he just accept this kind of thing? But up to this point, everything inside this dungeon did not make any sense. Everything was unplanned and done in the spare of the moment. As if it was testing him in some way, but that was, what a dungeon did right? He needed to figure this out; he was now pretending to be a lord? Lord of what? So far, he only needed to choose a path. It may stay the same, right? Choose your path and take responsibility for that choice. She had dressed him a flamboyant white suit with fabric hanging loose around his hands. They walked down the hall to meet his guest sitting at a large long-table that could easily fit 50 people. As he entered the dining hall, which was just as elegantly decorated as his bedroom, the system announced. Chapter 11 "Trade-deal" Seth needed to make this work, to do so, he needed to sell this farce. Pretend all the way, never fall and lose face. He likes the idea of being King or some royalty, he did not know his title and so needed to make the other part tell him, and so was his plan. He would love to make Sarah his queen, Seth started daydreaming for a second before he was shown inside. The man waiting for him stands up as soon as Seth''s entered the room. "Baron of Clifhill Matthew the First, wishes to speak to you, my lord," His maid said. "Baron, what brings you here this early?" "Pardon me for asking so bluntly. I wish you to sell me The deed to the shadow plateau. I can offer much" At his word, the room filled with gold, crystals of different colors, and a lot of things Seth had no idea what was. "I think selling the deed at this point would be a mistake," Seth tried to say while sounded magnanimous and continued. "Seeing as you are willing to give so much for something that seemingly has no value." "how about selling part of the land? or simply access?" The Baron continued. "Why do you simply want access?" Seth asked, and the baron fell silent. "To be honest, I can just keep it as is, for now, I need nothing and owning land in a place where it''s ratter limited sounds like the smart move, do you not agree?" Seth smirked. "I''m a Baron! You have no royal title, you only own land, no one lives there, and no one ever will!" The baron yelled, losing his facade.Stolen story; please report. "You are wrong, as far as I can tell no one have a claim to the plateau other than me, and I''m free of any loyalty, so per definition, I''m King Seth of the Shadow-Plateau, and you should do good in respecting a king in his land?" "I will not stand for this. This means war! and your little kingdom will crumble and fall within a day!" Before he could choose the world around him changed, he was standing in a mining shaft. Behind him was nothing but a rocky wall, and in front of him, he could hear something. "" Seth said softly. His stats and skills disappeared without a trace. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Sarah was sitting close to the window and was waiting for Seth. He had given her, her vision back and she would be forever grateful for that, but she was not ready to settle down with him. Maybe they could travel together? She started daydreaming about what they would see and what they may do. Starting to blush, she thought of how he had kissed her, embraced her and his warmth. She was ready to start her life, ready to experience and see the world, and she sincerely wanted to do it with the man that had saved her from this farm and a world of darkness. Her parents were out working, Sarah had noticed they were anxious about something, almost pushing her to leave before Seth returned from the mine. She opened the book Seth had read for her, she was rereading it, and it gave her fondly memories, and on the last page, she wrote. <3>

Chapter 12 "Battle of the Snails" Seth was lying on the gravel floor in complete darkness, his stats once again zero, after thoughtlessly accepting. Why did he not learn? He had done this once before, was he going to die like this? Before fear took him "" Seth Said, just to confirm that he really had fucked up, and seeing he had 20 unspent points, he at least could see a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. He needed to make smart choices, he needed too not fuck this up or he may end up dead this time. He had just been too lucky so far. Carefully he looked through his information; the reason he still had 20 points unspent was that Native had turned into Evolved, doubling the base cost from 10exp to 20exp, but it would now siphon off 10% of any exp earned. But the experience already gained was still there, he could not say the same for the other professions, they all started at zero, and only Shadow-BattleMage was unlocked, the others were marked with [locked] and [Hidden]. First, he evenly distributed the point, adding an extra point to strength, dexterity, intelligence, and wisdom. He was a battlemage now and needed Health, Stamina and Mana evenly. He could not find his fire spell or light spell anymore instead he found and . He started feeling his way, unsure of what the next step would bring him. On the one hand, he had his pickaxe and everything else as if changing clothes in the castle never had happened. Looking around feeling the stats changing his body back to something movable again. He looked closely around himself, he could see small bluish-green lights around in the cave, but they were like stars on a cloudy night shy. He moved closer to one and could see that it was a snail, with its shell luminescent, Seth slowly made his way closer to one. "Fuck", Seth said as something bit him, 12 health points gone in an instant. He jumped back and it stopped bitting him, or it was more like a nibble to be more precise. It could not have been the snail or could it? Shit, how much health did he have? 37 total was the answer, and 25 left, it would only take about 2 more bits to kill him or maybe just once dependent on what happened. with a regen of 0,17 per minute, it would take, it would take, 100 minutes was 17 health points, and that made about an hour to be back up to health, that was not that bad had it not been for the fucker bitting him was still close by. Thinking Seth used the most basic logic there was, glowy thing hurts don''t be close to the glowy thing. Good logic, sound logic. But looking around himself, he could see a lot more "stars". And the only thing he had as a weapon was a pickaxe, trying to navigate past them Seth fell at times, tripping on rocks, the fifth time doing so he grabs a handful of stones throwing them across the cave. <20 Exp Gained> he threw more stones; more massages got back to him. <20 Exp Gained>If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Thirty-one more times, until he could not feel his way too more rocks close by, this must be how Sarah had felt, forced to feel her way through it, fearing the uncertainty of what was just outside of her reach, and lastly not being able to know what was close by without hearing it. Even if Seth had the "stars" around him, he was still afraid, and paranoia is always voicing its concern in the back of his head. It was terrifying and unpleasant. With this, Shadow-BattleMage had leveled twice, and Evolved once, giving him an additional 30 points. He added 15 more points to his stats, now everything had 4 points except Constitution, Intelligence and Wisdom that had 5 points, and he brought

As he activated it and walked closer to one of the glowy snails, he could now see that he needed a little light to use the skill so that something cast a small shadow, and he could is the nasty rats walking and hunting inside the shadows. The price of using this skill was not even that bad, he had about 100 Mana, with 2,33 Regen, so he could have had this skill activated at all times had it not been for the stamina cost at five mana per minute. Chapter 13 "Battle of the Rats" Seth was ready to start hunting rats, and after observing them for over an hour he had figured it out, The Snails was eaten by insects, the insects become luminescent for a short while after and then disappearing from view. The rats protected the Snails by eating the insects before they could eat the snails. And the reason the snail''s shell was luminescent was because of the wet moss they were eating, it would start laminating as it was eaten by the snails. What was eating the rats? Seth though, but so far the only other thing he had seen in the caves where flying rats, sorry bats. Seth was lurking closer, holding the pickaxe up and ready to strick, holding completely still waiting for the movement of the rats to be visible, and, and. The pickaxe was slammed down against a rat, sparks were flying as he hit some rocks. Not moving or making a sound Seth slowly repositioned himself for another strick. Again he closed the gap and with all his weight behind the strick, a soft crunchy sound could be heard. <960 Exp gained> With that single rat, he leveled again. He simply distributed every stat evenly before continuing to hunt the rats, and as his stats and the skill level for Shadow-Eyes increased hunting both the rats, insects, and snails become much easier. Every Skill level made it easier to see further and clearer, and it was already at level 5. Seth did not stop before he had killed everything he could find close the entry point. He had total count after the hours hunting totaled: Shadow-Rats: 35 Luminescent-Snails: 52 Luminescent-Insects: 130 For a total of; 41140 Exp. But this had taken a heavy toll on him, he was hungry and out of food and drink and almost drained of Stamina, both from the use of the pickaxe and . But now he had leveled Evolved up to Lvl 14 and Sh-BattleMage to Lvl16, and buying the skills for Evolved;

Sarah was in her bed, wishing Seth would find his way back soon. She started being afraid that he had just left her, or worse something had happened to him. Tomorrow she was being forced to the city, she was to attend a prestigious healing institution, she was to change her profession and start a new. She hoped dearly that Seth would make it back before that and that they could start the journey together. She could hear a heavy knock on the door in the living room, "Good evening", her father said. "Good evening", A dark manly voice said. "What can we help you with this evening?" Harold asked very politely, strangely polite. "Are you ready? we need you to come with us right away, the situation is a little more urgent than expected, you still have the deed?" The voice asked "No, I do not, but the boy who has it is in mine-shaft and should return soon" "You gave it away, you could pass it on?! Was it not restricted and the only way was to pass it on was after death to the next of kind?" the man asked puzzled and not in the least amused about this change. "No, Only those that are a free citizen can accept the responsibility freely" Harold continued, keeping his voice low. "So wait, you are saying you found someone else to take the deed in your place, and you have lost him?" "No, he will return, I made of it sure, he is in love with my daughter, he will return and then he will be yours and so will the deed." "What is his name?" "Seth, and no family name" "Interesting, boys grab his daughter and take her back, and let us motivate her father so he gets the message nice and clear" Sarah was shocked at what she heard, and before she could do much her door was kicked in, and so was the door into the other bedroom, her mother screaming. Sarah was forced down, hands toughing, forcing there way, she tried to scream but a hand was making it even hard to breathe. "Don''t spoil her yet boys" As the voice said so he looked over at her father "They will continue where they left off if you don''t bring this Seth too us soon..." the treat was crystal clear, a rag was force feed into Sarah''s mouth and a bag was forced over her head.
