《Vegetarian》 Prologue: They Walk Among Us Lee had done it! Peacefully subdued the dragon, saved the kingdom, the people going wild- and slapped his alarm clock a minute before it went off, eyes bursting open with a flash of brilliance and sleep falling into them. After thoroughly washing his burning eyes of pain, he took a moment to appreciate the sun dancing across the horizon¡ then he shook himself awake with a few backflips and slaps to his own face and headed downstairs, sliding down the natural railing and landing with style. No that was not a faceplant it was style. Breakfast smoothie. Check. Meditate. Check. ICE MY FACE! Look after my health. Yep. Just that. Check. He was ready for the day¡ and it was 6:34am so the day needed a bit of time to get ready for him.

"Morning Lee!" chirped the young boy and girl as they ran past, crisp paper kites soaring through the air in their wake as a cool cerulean sky hung above. ¡°Morning Angela, morning Mike,¡± he replied, a smile now lighting his face as they ran off giggling, such nice kids really.Unauthorized content usage: if you discover this narrative on Amazon, report the violation. This was Lee, born and raised in the Enclave of Eisendale a town of Combatants and Artists, home to their very own Explorer: Del Arcson of Light. Walking down the street he saw the usual suspects back at it again, Marko and Jorvik cheerfully offering up their wares for any passers-by who may be interested in a conversion or path jump. He doubted many would offer more than a few words of conversation, barring a Jack passing by, or maybe a tourist come to visit the lovely enclave of Eisendale. ¡°Lee my dude, what is happening,¡± started Marko sales-pitch bursting to the surface as a cashmere smile burst out from within. ¡°What are you selling today Marko?¡± ¡°Only the best for you Lee, only the best, today I have for you the Wargod System, straight in from Alt. Earth¡¯s freshest minds¡¡± as the sales-pitch took over he started walking again, friendly smile on his face directed at the rapidly deflating Marko, accelerating as Jorvik¡¯s rigid movements started to head towards him. A laugh and flash of merchandise from Jorvik and he was running awkward laughter filling the air as the locals shook their heads and chuckled. ¡°There goes Lee,¡± said one wizened grandmother to her beloved granddaughter, ¡°He might be nice but don¡¯t end like him mmmhhh,¡± the girl just nodded. ¡°Why not?¡± asked a boy walking by. ¡°Cowards never prosper,¡± she replied before launching off into a tale the whole neighbourhood could probably recite backwards with a sigh from her granddaughter and an interested look on the passer-by¡¯s face. ¡°During the raid on Hershly¡¯s Keep¡¡±
He heard them. They knew he heard them and he knew, that they knew, that he had heard them but he resigned himself to a tired grin and a belief, a knowing within that he would show them. That Vegetarians could win too.
