 Chapter 1: The Nobody And The Devil-Queen

    "Nah, it''s alright I got this. Go home and enjoy yourself."


    "*sighs* Well, it''s not like there''s anyone at home waiting for me you know?"


    "Yeah. trust me, man. I know what you mean."


    "Well alright. Take care then. See you Monday."


    "Yeah, see you later."


    Today my co-worker Lewis offered to take care of the rest of the work pile so I was given the chance to go home a little early.


    It was Friday and it''s not like I wanted to stay behind late so I accepted his offer. The company we work for isn''t any major company. We manufactured small electronic parts for various electronic devices separately.


    Even if the company was small there was still a lot of work and frankly, we don''t have enough manpower to handle all of them on time. So each of us has to work overtime to make up for the lack of workers and today Lewis offered himself up.


    Even though I asked if he wanted help that was just to be polite. I didn''t want to stay here longer than I needed to either so I was glad to have given the chance to get out.


    After saying my goodbye I exit the small office building and make my way towards the train station. I didn''t live too far from here, about 40 minutes I would say. Most of that was spent on the train and 10 minutes of walking.


    Going home is painful in itself. I lived alone in a small apartment.


    My father left me and my mom when I was a still a kid then soon after my mom threw me out as well saying she couldn''t handle to see the face of the person that abandoned her.


    From there I wandered around in the streets, picking up food from the garbage to eat and begging for some change all around to get by. This went on for a while until I was picked up by an orphanage. They were really nice to me and supported me until I finished Highschool. I received a scholarship for college and got a degree in software engineering. I still visit them sometimes.


    It has only been about 3 years since I finished college and got this job soon after. They were a new company so they were pretty much-hiring anyone they could get their hands on.


    I found a one-room apartment with a kitchen and a bathroom to rent so I have been living like that ever since.


    Oh, the light turned green, should be safe now. I always try to prioritize safety before all else when I''m not in a hurry.


    ''Should be safe'' that''s what I thought but I didn''t expect what was heading right towards me as I started to cross the road.


    It was a truck frantically making its way towards me. The driver was driving with full force, it seemed as though he didn''t care about running anybody over. I could hear multiple loud police sirens from right behind.


    I didn''t have time to consider all that. Right now, my legs froze. I couldn''t even move.


    Goddammit, move!! Why like this? Why n--


    Then it hit. I didn''t even have enough time to finish the thought.


    *Baam!!!*


    I was thrown several meters into the air. I didn''t know what to think, I didn''t know what to do. My whole body went numb. My conscience was barely hanging on but I knew as soon as I hit the ground I would surely die.


    I closed my eyes, as my meaningless life flashed before me everything went silent.

    "So the Empire''s Hero finally came huh? I have been waiting for a while now." A hoarse voice resounded throughout the dimly lit throne room, echoing all over.


    "Shut up You Devil-Queen!! Today you will pay for all the lives you took with your own!!" A feminine voice retorts back clearly feeling intimidated.This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.


    "You really think you can defeat me just because you possess the Light element? You are going to need a lot more than that!!" The hoarse voice speaks again mockingly.


    There were two women facing each other.


    One was a Devilish Woman with blood red skin, four glowing purple demonic eyes, and long pointy ears. From her forehead was two twisted ginormous horns. There were two draconic wings on her back and a tail coming out. She was wearing light metallic armor that only covered her breasts from under and her private parts so she was mostly bare skin. She was majestically standing in front of her throne staring down at a human girl holding a decorated sword glowing with a golden color.


    She was the Devil-Queen, the most powerful existence in the world. The world shook with her every step. Her words meant absolute authority to everyone beneath her. She was cold and didn''t have any mercy for anyone opposing her. She was the primary ruler of this world and no other being had the power to oppose her.


    "If you really think you could take me on then come at me with everything you''ve got!!" The Devil-Queen shouts at the girl, prompting her to attack.


    The human girl takes the bait and leaps into the air swinging her glowing sword.


    This girl was known as the Hero throughout the world. She was summoned to this world by the Goddess to get rid of the Devil army.


    She has been fighting the Devil-Queen''s army everywhere with her party and thus far has been successful in taking back almost all of the human territories.


    After seeing her efforts the Devil-Queen decided not to push back and instead let the Hero come to her so she could take care of the hero and her party by herself. This would cause the rest of the world to lose any sort of foolish ideas that they might have had related to opposing the Devils. It was essentially killing two birds with one stone.


    The Devil-Queen puts up a magical barrier moments before they connect, blocking all the sword''s might.


    "Really? With just this much power you actually think you can oppose me by yourself?" The Devil-Queen sneers at the idea of this puny power trying to kill her.


    "*Tsk* Don''t underestimate me!!" The Hero gets enraged by this and swings again.


    Right now, the rest of the Hero''s party was fighting against the four Devil Generals of the Devil-Queen''s army so the Hero was left to herself to deal with the Devil-Queen.


    After continuously attacking the Devil-Queen over and over with her sword it was clear that it was having no effect so the Hero backs away. She raises her hand quickly gathering golden colored magical energy into one spot, making them denser and denser. The magic she was gathering was Light Magic, the only type of magic that can supposedly oppose the Devil-Queen.


    The quickly gathered Light magic condensed itself into a small glowing ball that could fit into the Hero''s palm. She gripped the Light magic ball and it suddenly transformed itself into a spear. The spear was made of pure Light Magic.


    [ Star-Light''s Might! ] The Hero exerted all her physical strength and threw the spear directly towards the Devil Queen with all her might.


    The Devil-Queen smirks then slowly raises her hand as the Light magic spear approaches her.


    [ Miniature Black Hole ] As soon as these words were muttered from the Devil Queen''s mouth, Dark magical energy started gathering on her palm.


    "If you really think this could stop me then you may be even more foolish than I thou-" The Devil-Queen stops mid-sentence.


    Something had suddenly pierced the Devil-Queen as she was preparing to block the Light magic spear.


    The Dark magic she was gathering immediately disperses and without anything to defend against the magic spear it directly pierces her stomach.


    "*hack*cough*" The Devil Queen spits out a mouthful of black blood before looking down. There was a glowing blue sword sticking out from between her breasts and golden spear from her stomach. The Devil-Queen slowly turns her head to look at the person behind her, the person holding the sword.


    "You...why? Why did you betray me?!!"


    The person holding the sword was called Moreus, one of the four Devil generals. He specialized in Speed and Stealth. Not even the Devil-Queen could detect him without trying.


    "It''s not just me." Moreus points in front of the Devil-Queen making her turn her head.


    The Devil-Queen looks in front of her and several people appear one after the other. It was the rest of the Devil Generals and the Hero party members.


    "Why!!! Why did you all betray me ?!! I made you what you are today!! Without me, you would be nothing but corpses beneath my Devil army''s feet!!!" The Devil-Queen yelled out furiously as she coughed up more blood.


    "And we appreciate that but.....Your time has to come to an end." Moreus grins but so does the rest of the generals.


    "This sword is a special sealing device made from the efforts of us four generals. It will put a seal on all your magic and skills then slowly degrade your power over time until eventually, you cease to exist. We spent years developing this sword just for you." Moreus says arrogantly knowing that there was nothing the Devil-Queen could do now.


    "No!! I will end you!! You will pay for this with your lives!! I swear to you even if it''s the last thing I do, I will make you pay!!!"


    As the Devil-Queen expresses her full on rage, the blue sword piercing her begins to glow even brighter. Magical chains with spikes materialize from the sword and wrap her all around piercing her everywhere.


    "Aaaaggghhhh" She screams in agony as the sword begins to suck her in. Realizing she couldn''t do anything at the moment she bites her lip down and closes her eyes. Within moments she disappears into the blue sword without a trace as it falls to the ground.

    "Huh? Whose memories are those?"

 Chapter 2: One Entity

    What''s going on?


    I was just struck by a truck so I should be dead right?


    But for some reason, I still had my consciousness. No...not just my consciousness, there was something else as well.


    No, it''s like there''s another conscience inside me. I could see someone else''s memories in my head. Something about being the Devil-Queen?


    Sounds kinda scary honestly. The memories are foggy but this one scene keeps on playing in my head. I as the Devil-Queen fighting and being betrayed somehow after that being sealed?


    This just sounds like a Light novel or something. None of this makes any sense. I could clearly visualize the memories of this Devil-Queen as if I''m her but I also remember Who I am. My name is Leon Carter. A normal guy with a normal job living by himself.


    "ge..get out of...my head..."


    What the hell? Whose voice was that?


    "Aaaggghhh" Goddammit!! My head hurts!!

    Yes, I am both Leon Carter and Lilith Greer Aldain. It seems the two personas merged together into one....but my Leon Carter persona seems to be in dominance.


    Me as Lilith Greer Aldain, the Devil-Queen was sealed into a sword. It seems that thousands of years have passed since then. Lilith Greer Aldain''s mind became so weak to the point it was barely even conscience.


    After I died as Leon I somehow ended up in this body and Lilith sensed it. In a last ditch effort to save her consciousness from disappearing completely she merged the two personas together into one. And in doing created me as this new persona.


    I was hanging with my hands and legs tied to the four corners of a white room. There was still some kind of spiritual sword stabbing me from behind. This was the seal I was in for thousands of years.


    As an Ancient Devil whose lifespan was almost neverending this shouldn''t have been any problem but being here without being able to move or have anyone to talk to can drive anyone to lose themselves.


    The people that betrayed me as Lilith are probably already dead since they were normal Devils. They only have a few hundred years worth of lifespan at best.


    So there was no way to get revenge as well. The fact that I was sealed in this prison for thousands of years but the bastards that betrayed me probably got to live their full life made me lose all hope.


    But I really didn''t want to disappear forever. In the end, I was scared.


    Well, let''s not think about that for now.


    My personal tastes seem to be leaning more towards Leon''s compared to Lilith''s. But being in Lilith''s body that might change as well.

    Hmmm...I am still into girls so that''s good...that''s good. It seems even as Lilith, I was into girls instead of guys. That''s a relief.


    I have to think of a way I could get out of here. It seems Lilith didn''t notice as her consciousness was already fading but the seal was getting weaker as well. I guess being active for thousands of years can wear anything out, even if that thing happens to be a magical seal.


    If I can maybe somehow create a large enough magical blast?


    But that could destroy me as well...I would have to detonate every single magical particle I have left in my body and there is only a 50/50 chance of surviving.


    I mean, yes the seal barely has half its strength left but if I wait for the seal to deteriorate it might take another couple thousand years in the least. And by that time the rest of the Magical powers I have left would also disappear and I may perish along with the seal. Truly those bastards really did put in the effort.


    All right...there''s no other option for me. I slowly start charging up all the magical particles left within my body one by one. I charge up every single one of them which takes me hours to do so, I mean it''s not like I could be doing something else right now.


    After who knows how many hours I finally finish charging up each and every one of the Magical particles.


    Alright, it''s now or never. 3...2...1...*Boom*


    It seemed as though a nuclear blast had occurred inside the seal.


    *crack**crack* the room inside the seal began cracking like glass all over. The chains that were holding me for thousands of years finally started to disappear like they never existed in the first place. The sword that was stabbing me also vanishes. I slowly begin to get pushed out of the seal as everything around me turns dark.

    I got out...I finally got out!! Two streams of tears flow down from the corner of my eyes. This was the emotion from Lilith, I was finally out!!


    I started wiping the tears away with my hand but then it finally hit me...two eyes...not four. I looked at my hands and they were peach, not my usual red skin but fair light skin. No pointy ears either. All my bodily hair had grown way too much as expected for these thousands of years but my hair color seemed red now instead of the usual silver.


    I was very confused at the moment but there was one way to confirm all this.

    In this world, there was such a thing as one''s ''Status''. It''s like that of a mmorpg...oh my God this is starting to sound more and more like a Light Novel.


    I carefully viewed my Status. Just as I predicted...my reason for looking like a human instead of a Devil-Queen. No, I did look like this a very long time ago.


    As an Ancient Devil, I evolved as I leveled up so before I leveled up and evolved I did once look like this. Normal Devils are born with horns and tails but Ancient Devils are a different case.


    And now I''m back to where I started all those thousands of years ago...back to Level 1...

    Alright!! Alright!! Calm down...calm down...this is most likely due to that Magical Seal. Damn it, my Hp is worse than that of a slime.


    Goddammit!!! Those bastards!!!...Right! I still have my skills!! I still have my skills and magic!!


    Your skill and magic efficiency level go up as you level up but with the right kind of skills and magic you can level up very fast. You can level up from killing various types of monsters and as you level up your stats would increase as well but you can also increase your stats individually. For example, You can train yourself physically to improve your Strength or Agility. However, this method takes way longer than just killing monsters.


    It seems that my Mp is ten times more than my other stats...is it because of the stunt I pulled? Still, this is also pretty good, it means my Mp is my strong point right now.


    Awww...in my peak I could destroy continents with my magic but now...


    *sighs*


    Alright...what''s done is done. Nothing I can do about that now. No amount of sulking is going to bring my powers back.


    I was inside a cave at the moment and I didn''t know what kind of environment it was outside the cave. Is it some kind of special cave? It would be for the best to first get myself prepared inside the cave then venture outside.


    Alright, first let''s seal up the cave entrance. [Earth Wall] This was elementary grade magic, nothing too fancy, didn''t require much mp. A normal Level 1 wouldn''t be able to use this magic but my Mp being 10 times higher came in real handy.


    Though this was Magic. Real magic. As Leon, I wouldn''t believe such a thing existed but for Lilith, this wasn''t even worth looking at.


    The Entrance to the cave was blocked off nicely. I didn''t need any light to see as one of my skills allowed me to see clearly even in the dark. Then I used another Earth element magic [Clay Coating] to cover the entirety of cave in smooth Clay.


    After that, I used Life-Style magic to swiftly clean up the area. It was a small cave so I didn''t take much effort.


    Alright next is me. This time I used the combination of Water and Lifestyle magic to lightly wash off the dust from my body. I needed a way to get rid of all the excess hair all over me. So I used Fire magic to burn most of it off then Wind magic to cut the ends. By substituting Water Magic for a mirror I managed to give myself a fashionable haircut, my hair was only down to my shoulder now.


    With the Water mirror, I looked at my body for the first time as this me. I must say I looked amazing but...there were some ugly scars on my body. One was between my breasts which almost reached up to my throat and the other was on my stomach, where I was pierced by the Light Magic from the Hero. They were on my back as well.


    Damn those fuckers!! Giving a godly body like this some nasty scars!!


    I look a bit skinny right now but with proper nutrition that shouldn''t be a problem. When I was sealed in that sword I was in my fully evolved form so food and such didn''t matter but now that''s not the case anymore. I have properly take care of my health.


    As Leon, I never liked dirty things so I would always clean up my apartment and keep the area I am in comfortable.


    I wasn''t wearing anything at the moment since I really didn''t have anything proper to wear. I was able to use Spatial Magic to store things and the only I had in there was a Full-Body Slime suit and some low-grade weapons that couldn''t even be Enchanted. As the Devil-Queen there wasn''t really anything I needed so I didn''t even put in the effort to prepare for emergency situations.


    *sigh* Looks like right now the Full-Body Slime suit is the only option for me. I open up my [ Spatial Storage ] and take out a small black box.


    This was the entire suit condensed into a tiny box. The suit was actually made by me a very long time ago, it was made from different types of high-level slimes which made it very sturdy, it was equipped with a body temperature control function and as long as I run my magic power through the suit it can repair itself, like a slime multiplying its cells.


    I can control parts of the suit with my mind and create additional parts like a face mask or a hood but that''s as far as it goes. As I evolved I eventually outgrew the suit and just left it in my Storage.


    I run some of my magic through the black box and it immediately envelops my whole hand in black goo. The black goo slowly starts crawling up my arm and continues upward to my shoulder. Then onto my chest and back, my other arm, my lower body, and everything. It was like I was covered in some thick black rubber up to my neck. It acted as gloves and boots at the same time as well. There was some sort of pattern running throughout the suit which actually made the suit look a lot less bland.


    The suit itself felt really comfortable, it was skin tight but it added a thick layer rubber-like material above my skin. Though I still wouldn''t want to be seen like this out in the public. I would die from embarrassment if I did.


    I will have to find some normal clothes to wear before meeting actual people. Maybe I will upgrade the suit when I get my hands on some Magic Crystals I don''t know...


    I looked down and saw the sword I was stabbed with laying on the ground right beside me.


    It had a unique design to it. The handle looked like a Red Dragon. The end was a dragon''s head with the grip being its body then the tail wrapping around the bottom parts of the blade. It was probably made with Dragon scales based on the design and the fact that it didn''t get rusty in thousands of years.


    The sword itself was a slender, double-edged sword which didn''t match the size of the scar on my chest and back. I''m guessing the Sealing magic used on it somehow gave it a wider blade and the blue color. The Sealing Magic disappeared already but the sword felt incredibly sharp.

    As I am waiting for my Mp to refill let me give you a rundown of all my skills. Well most of them feel like I''m in a game or something.


    Skills


    Devil Queen''s Authority, this skill allows me to control any object with my mind. The weight will be dependent on the amount of Mp exerted. It''s similar to telekinesis honestly.


    Devil Queen''s Eyes, this allows me to analyze everything regardless of their level, even if someone is concealing their status. This includes one''s status, analyzing any type of items, any magical spells and etc. It also allows me to see clearly in any environment.


    Devil Queen''s Body, this makes me resistance to most blunt attacks and gives me high resistance to most magical attacks.


    Nature''s Beloved, this allows me to identify any type of plants or herbs and control them. I got this skill from a druid in my younger days.


    Weapon Mastery, allows me to efficiently use all types of weapons. I got this skill when I was able to master every weapon available to me.


    Martial Arts Mastery, allows me to efficiently use all types of martial arts. Same as the Weapon Mastery, I got this one when I learned all types of martial arts available to me.


    Potion Brewer, I can brew any type of potion I want as long as I have the right ingredients. The higher my level the higher the level of the potion.


    Accessory Enchantments, allows me to enchant any items. The higher my level the higher the level of enchantments.


    Physical Enhancement, Allows me to increase my physical status by 25 percent upon activation but it wears off after 5 minutes.


    Flash-Step, allows me to move at accelerated speed for a brief amount of time but there''s a 30-second timeout.


    Presence Detection, Allows me to detect the presence of other living beings but this depends on my level. If they are able to conceal their presence and have a higher level than me then I won''t be able to detect them fully.


    Presence Concealment, Allows me to conceal my presence by hiding my aura and magical energy. This skill also depends on my level. With a higher level, it wouldn''t be a problem but if my level is lower then I would be detected when I''m too close.


    Magic Control, my understanding of magic is multiplied with this skill which allows me to control magic very efficiently. This lets me skip chanting a spell to use magic directly or use element-less magic.


    Magic Dispel, Allows me to cancel out any spell that requires less Mp than what I have. The amount of Mp the spell was cast with will be the same amount of Mp drained from me when dispelling it.


    Magic Absorption, allows me to absorb magical energy from around me to replenish my own. Continuously using it could increase my base Mp stats. It also allows me to absorb Magical energy from magical objects like Magic crystals and magical attacks that have a lower level than me. I am actually using this right now to recover quickly.


    Abnormal Status Nullification, it nullifies any abnormality from my body, like poison, curse, debuffs and other things of that nature.


    Auto-Recovery allows my body to start healing itself by using magical energy when my Hp drops below 80 percent.


    Mental Map, this skill automatically records the places I have seen and allows me to take a look at it whenever I want. Kinda like a game map but a bit more detailed I guess.


    Language Comprehension, pretty basic. It allows me to understand almost all types of language.


    Status Alternation/Concealment, it allows me to hide my status or alter them.


    Then for the Magic, you can use it by chanting spells or if you are skilled enough you could directly shape any element. Chanting spells can be really slow when compared to directly shaping magic but in my case, I can skip the chants so it becomes faster than shaping magic myself.


    I could use element-less magic like creating barriers, creating pure magical constructs and etc. This actually requires a lot of Mp.


    The magic elements I can use are Fire, Water/Ice, Wind, Earth, and Lightning, the basic elements.


    Anyone can have a natural aptitude for these elements but not all of them at once. I am an exception to this rule as I am the Devil-Queen.


    The Dark element was a special element only available to my class. It consumes a lot of Mp but the payoff is equally satisfying. I can combine other elements with the Dark elements to increase the other element''s potency.


    The Spatial element was taught to me when I was young. Right now the only type of Spatial magic I could use was the Storage and the amount of space in the storage was also directly related to the amount of Mp I have so there wasn''t much I could store in there. As my Mp increases I can create my own personal spaces, hmm...around level 50 I should have enough Mp to create a personal room then as the Mp amount increases so will the size and properties of my space.


    With enough Mp it''s possible to even teleport long distances to the places I have been to and of course the farther the place is the more Mp it would take to get there.


    Lifestyle magic is mostly for cleaning up really. Except for Light magic, I would be able to learn almost every other types of magic.


    Light magic is something exclusive to the Hero as Dark magic is for me. So no one except for the Hero could use that as I am the only one capable of using the Dark element.


    Light magic is extremely effective against Devils and Dark magic. However, with powerful enough Dark magic it''s possible to completely nullify Light Magic. I can''t dispel Light magic but I could use Dark magic to negate it.


    If I were able to deploy my Dark magic at that time with the Hero I wouldn''t have a scar on my stomach and back.


    Everyone has their own understanding of Magic so as long as you understand the basics you can come up with your own spells and ways to use magic. There are obviously many other types of magic but I don''t know how to use them so no point going over them right now. You can acquire skills and magic from clearing Dungeons as well. I will talk about Dungeons when we get to Dungeons, this chapter is already too long.


    From Leon''s perspective, this is broken as fuck but as Lilith I spent years collecting all these skills and learning all these magic, getting stronger and stronger until I finally became the all-powerful being known as the Devil-Queen.


    The Hero class is the pinnacle of all humans chosen by the Goddess but the Devil-Queen class or a more gender broad term the Devil-Monarch class was the pinnacle of all beings. It is believed that the strongest devil unlocks this class but I definitely wasn''t the strongest Devil when I got this class so it''s a mystery even to me as to how one unlocks this class.


    There could only be one Hero or one Devil-Monarch at a time. This is why instead of killing me they sealed me, they didn''t want another Devil-Monarch any time soon. Devil-Monarchs are rarely born but their growth speed may be the same as others and their status increases more than it does for anyone else''s when leveling up. The Devil-Monarch before me almost destroyed the world out of his madness.


    Since I was alive all this time it also means that there hasn''t been any Devil-Queen or Devil-Kings for thousands of years now.


    I still wonder how they were able to come up with such a sealing method/sword. Even the Goddess had to choose a Hero to deal with me but my own kin...It''s been so long since then I can''t even ask them.


    Even though I''m level 1 right now I can still level up more efficiently than last. Usually one would need to hit level 10 first to acquire a class then it will evolve by itself as they get stronger.


    My class is already at its peak evolved form so this alone gives me a massive boost. As I level up my body would also change accordingly and turn back to my previous form. Though I will have the ability to change back and forth.


    I don''t want to continue on my previous path and take over the world again, I actually don''t even remember why I wanted to do so either. The world has surely changed a lot since I was gone and I''m not that same person anymore. I want to explore and travel around the world. Both Leon and Lilith grew up without a family so maybe I can find a girl to love and settle down who knows. Wait...is same-sex marriage even allowed? I mean I''m more of a dude in the inside so...Uh fuck.


    Alright. My Mp is back to full...Let me just take a look outside. I use Earth magic to make a small hole in the Earth Wallto see through.


    Oh, it was night time already...maybe I should stay inside for the night and explore tomorrow...


    Yeah, that''s better than going out at this time. I can spend the time to increase my Mp amount, I mean that''s really the only thing I could do at the moment.


    I lean against the smooth clay wall of the cave. I wonder if I could make Marble tiles to coat the cave instead of just clay? It may be possible but I don''t have the means to do so at the moment.


    I stay still in my leaning position and exert my magical energy until I''m almost completely depleted. Then with the [Magic Absorption] my Mp slowly starts to rise again. I used to use this sort of training method when I was young to increase overall Mp, I learned it from some dude calling himself The Great Sage but I didn''t really know anything about him.


    I kept repeating the same routine over and over until I unknowingly fell asleep.

    I repeated the cycle so many times that I passed out without even noticing. It seems my Mp increased by 20 points. That''s actually extremely impressive considering the fact that I haven''t even hunted anything. Was there something up with this area? I senses became really dull so I couldn''t even tell.


    It was morning already. From the looks of it, the sun came out not too long ago.


    Alright, it''s time to get out and explore. I use Earth Magic to open the entrance and walk out. Of course, as I predicted I was in a dense forest area.


    How did I even end up here? Why was the sword just lying inside a cave? Did those bastards just throw me out thinking that it wouldn''t even matter anymore?


    What the fuck? Ok whatever, this is good as well. I can most likely hunt some monsters to level up here. I can also use this cave as my base for now and there are definitely some animals around for me to eat as well.


    Alright, let''s get started!! But first, let me cover up the cave...I use Earth Magic and cover the cave entrance and camouflage the surroundings to blend in with the trees. I can use the skill [Mental Map] to make sure I don''t get lost.


    Ok then, [ Presence Detection ]

 Chapter 4: Lunch

    ¡ð¡ñ¡ð¡ñ¡ð¡ñ


    I use [ Presence Detection ] to scan the area around me but I don''t pick up anything. This skill is directly related to my ''Sense'' stat which is at 1 0 at the moment, there''s nothing I could do about it.


    I slowly make my way through the tall thick trees and moss covered rocks all around. A forest is supposed to be filled with unknown dangers and I had to be extra careful about moving through it. I mean come on my Hp is worse than that of a Goblin''s. My life force is so depleted that I would most likely be severely wounded with one punch and that''s not something I want to happen.


    As I was moving through the trees I noticed something white twitch from afar. Ears, Rabbit ears...lunch...I mean a rabbit. I''m kind of hungry, to be honest.


    I immediately activate [ Presence Concealment ] and slowly approach the said rabbit. There are some animals like rabbits and deers that have monster counterparts and those monsters are edible as well but not everyone can eat monster meat as they can be poisonous to anyone without resistance to poisons. However, with my skill [ Abnormal Status Nullification ], it''s alright for me. Eating monsters can sometimes increase your status as well when you are able to fully digest it.


    Something that separates animals from monsters is their lack of Mp and magical stones inside their body. All Monsters have a magical stone inside of them which can all have a different size depending on the level of the monster.


    These magical stones can be used for powering magical devices, creating or enchanting weapons, making Magical staff and etc. You would have to cut out the magic stone from the monster''s body after killing them. They are always located at the heart of the monsters.


    I can''t analyze the rabbit from this distance so I just hope it''s not a monster but a normal rabbit. Rabbit monsters are actually quite sturdy, looks horrifying and are generally high-level creatures.


    As I slowly move towards the rabbit, it finally comes into full view. Thank God it was a normal rabbit!! I guess my luck isn''t that bad...wait doesn''t say that I died in one life and betrayed in the other, that''s not the greatest show of luck.


    The rabbit was munching on a twig. I used the [ Devil-Queen''s Eyes ] on the rabbit to check it''s status.

    Why? Why is it''s Hp the same as mine? I feel so pathetic...his Agility is 15. That''s actually really high for a rabbit but the Sense is really low for an animal. Its Mp is 0 which makes sense as animals don''t have the ability to use magic but monster do. They get skills for the basic actions they are good at but actual people wouldn''t since well it''s just common sense. But when the monsters evolve so does their skills, which becomes more and more similar to ours.


    Well, it hasn''t noticed me yet. I could use magic against it but maybe a sword would be better. It can be dealt with quickly then.


    I back off a little and position myself on a straight line from the rabbit but still make sure that the rabbit doesn''t see me. I take out the ''seal'' sword that was in my Storage.


    I take my stance with the sword then activate [ Physical Enhancement ]. My body gives off a greenish glow signaling that the skill was now active.


    Right!! 3...2...1...Now!!


    Using [ Flash-Step!! ] to accelerate my speed, I become a blur. I swiftly move from the place I was standing at to leaving the rabbit behind me. My sword didn''t have any blood stain on it neither did it feel like I had cut something but the rabbit''s head was flying in the air.


    *Sprrt!!!**flop*


    It''s now headless body falls to the ground with blood gushing out from it. I pick up the head and bury underground then drain the blood from the body before putting it in my Storage. Rabbits are very fast and with my current speed, I wouldn''t have been able to kill it if not for my skill. After I was done with the rabbit I start moving through the forest again.


    Something I noticed while moving through this forest was the lack of herbs around. In a dense forest like this one, herbs should be almost everywhere but I couldn''t even see any useful herbs. Do people come to a thick forest like this to pick up the herbs? If so I may even meet some people here...


    Nooooo, I''m not ready for people right now!!


    I morph the slime suit to extend up to my nose to cover up my face then make a hood come out from my shoulders. This way even if I encounter anyone at least they wouldn''t know what I look like. While doing this I heard a peculiar sound coming from somewhere nearby. I already had my [ Presence Concealment ] active so I started moving towards the sound with the utmost caution.


    "Humans!! Humans in the forest!!"


    "Yeah.!! Women !! we want new women!!"


    "More!! More women!!"


    The voices I heard were all high pitched and screechy. They weren''t speaking in human language or the devil language rather it was the language of the goblins!! With [ Language Comprehension ] I was able to understand almost all languages and that even included the languages of monsters.


    Goblins are generally really dumb creatures. They are not very strong one on one either. However, when they are acting in a group, they can be really annoying to deal with. Their leader is almost always a Hobgoblin, was an evolved version of the goblins. They can use magic, unlike regular goblins.


    Did they just say, humans? I got close to the goblins to get a better look at them. There were 3 of them beside a cave. It was most likely goblin nest.Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.


    They capture women and bring them to their nest for the purpose of breeding and increase their population. There are no female goblins so they have to breed with other species to increase their numbers. So they capture women from all around and rape them. Not just goblins, a lot of the other monsters do so as well.


    Those who get captured are never the same again. Even if they get saved from the goblin caves, the trauma causes them to suicide and the ones that never escape keeps on giving birth to goblins until they die. If I get caught right now I don''t even know if I could escape without any injuries.


    "Get weapons ready!! We attack humans!!"


    Another goblin came out of the cave and gave an order to the other three. I wonder how many humans they are going to attack. If they are high level then it wouldn''t matter but for low-level humans, they can be really troublesome.


    I don''t have anything against humans anymore but if the goblins win it might actually be very beneficial to me...For now, let''s keep my distance and follow their movements.

    *Inside the deep forest, there were a group of Adventurers escorting an old merchant on a Carriage.


    The merchant was carrying various supplies for the next town over and he was afraid of getting robbed by bandits so he hired some Adventurers to escort him on the way.


    "Sonny, are you sure this path is safe?" The merchant asks the only guy that was in Adventurers'' party.


    He seemed to be the leader. He was blond with blue eyes, really young. He was in the prime of his life, reckless, inexperienced and naive. He was The Swordsman.


    "Don''t worry gramps. I got this map from one of my friends. He said it''s a quick shortcut." The boy reassures the old merchant that it was going to be okay.


    "But...I heard that there were a lot of monsters around this place. Really dangerous ones as well." The old merchant has been through a lot of experiences during his lifetime so of course he wouldn''t be completely relaxed.


    If he had a choice he would hire more experienced Adventurers but he didn''t have enough time to be picky as he needed to make his way to the next town as soon as he could.


    "Nah. Don''t worry about that. We are here to take care of that. Aren''t we?" the young boy put on a bright smile pointing at himself then looking at his party members.


    He was fully confident in his ability to take care of everything with his party. As a young Adventurer, he had yet to experience ''failures'' so it was appropriate to call him cocky.


    "Yes, of course!!" It was one of the female members of the group, The young Healer.


    She quickly agrees with the boy. She has been with the boy ever since they were kids so it was right to say that she was a bit attached to him. She went everywhere with him so they always stuck close to each other.


    "Don''t worry!! You are in good hands." This time it was the young Martial Artist of the group.


    She also agrees with her two group members. She joined the boy and the healer later on but became good friends with them very quickly. She has been doing minor quests with them ever since.


    There was one other member in the group but she didn''t say anything to the conversation going on between her party members. The Magician. She was in her own world, minding her own business. She didn''t care about what went on with other people, she was just there for her own business and this job just happened to present itself at the right moment.

    "I mean...I have been following the map as best as I could..." ( Swordsman boy )


    "It feels like we are just getting deeper and deeper into the forest instead of getting out!" ( Martial Artist girl )


    "Don''t worry!! I''m sure we will find a way out of this." ( Swordsman boy )


    "Dammit. I knew to come with you brats was a bad idea!!" ( Merchant Oldman )


    The young group of Adventurers and the old merchant had been on the path to get out of the forest for hours but it seemed as though they were getting deeper and deeper into the forest with no way out.


    The old merchant was getting angry at the fact that he wasn''t going to make his deliveries on time. The Martial Artist was also getting sick of just waiting in the carriage. The other two girls didn''t really seem to care as the Healer was always supporting the Swordsman and the magician was reading her book.


    Another hour went by with no sign of the exit. The sun was already going down and they were physically exhausted to go on anymore so they decided to set up camp in the forest.


    They found a small open space to stay for the night and set up camp there. They decided to switch every 2 hours to keep watch till the night was over. It was decided that the merchant wouldn''t have to do so as it was mostly their fault that they were in this situation now.


    The first was The Martial artist. Everyone went to sleep around her as she stayed awake staring at the campfire they had set up.


    *yawn* she was already very tired mentally from just sitting in the carriage all day and she was beginning to doze off a little as well. All the other members of her group were already fast asleep so she couldn''t help but want to do the same as well.


    As time went on she couldn''t hold on anymore as her eyes started to become hazy. She closes her eyes and finding comfort in that situation she unknowingly lets herself go.


    Now...all five members of the little group were all fast asleep and it was at this time they decided to make their move. The shadows of many tiny creatures barely 3 feet tall came out of woods. There were dozens in number but any of them had barely made any noise as they were surrounding the little group of humans.


    Two groups of goblins with three members, with each group, was carrying a giant boulder made their way to the Swordsman and the Merchant. Without making any noise dropped the boulders on top of the Swordsman''s an old merchant''s head. In their sleep they didn''t have any power to retaliate, they died without even knowing how. Their heads were crushed into a bloody mess.


    The Healer and the Martial artist woke up from the noise then looked around to see their companions'' corpses.


    "No, no, no, no, no, no. Please...please wake up!!"


    The Healer had already lost her sanity from seeing her childhood friend''s corpse before her eyes. She couldn''t handle the shock and passed out right there.


    "Dammit!! Hey, Magician girl wakes up!!"


    Being surrounded by goblins, she knew she didn''t have any way out by herself. As she turned around to look where the Magician Girl was sleeping at, she was taken aback.


    There was no one there. The Magician was gone. She was left alone, by herself.


    Having no other option, she takes her fighting stance. She was surrounded by dozens of goblins, all she could do was to fight for her life.


    Not having enough patience a goblin jumps at her but she swiftly kicks him away. Taking this as a signal the rest of the goblins all jump at her together. There wasn''t much she could do as she tried to fend off an army of goblins.


    She got repeatedly stabbed and exhausted all over her body as the fight went on. The goblins were purposefully avoiding her vitals since they didn''t just want her to die.


    They needed her alive and there was nothing she could do about it. After fighting continuously for a very long time she was on her last breath. She didn''t have stamina as she was just a low-level.


    Having wounds all over her body and being spent to the limit, she didn''t have any energy left to continue and collapsed on the spot.


    It was over, they barely had any chance of winning letting their guard down in this forest. The goblins won.


    The goblins tied up the girls and carried them back to their cave. They weren''t interested in anything else but the girls.


    During this event, there were a pair of eyes peeking from a nearby tree. Waiting for the goblins to leave.

 Chapter 5: The Cursed Magician

    ¡ð¡ñ¡ð¡ñ¡ð¡ñ


    "What the hell? The Magician girl just disappeared!!"


    After hunting 2 more rabbits I decided to locate the humans that entered the forest. I had been following them for a few hours now. Where did she go? This group didn''t look like they had any high-levels with them. I was planning to take all their belongings for myself when they don''t survive.


    I mean don''t judge me for that but I''m no saint and I certainly value my own life interests more than others.


    They were all a bunch of newbies as well but I didn''t even know whether or not they were going to survive. The fact that they didn''t just happen to benefit me and if they did then good for them.


    These idiots even fell asleep in a dangerous place like this and then met their demise. But that Magician girl...did she knows that her party was being attacked but still decided not to do anything?


    I can''t even sense her, it''s like she completely vanished. If she was that skilled then why didn''t she do anything to save them?


    "Oh? It''s not nice to just observe when people are getting killed you know?"


    *thump!**thump!**thump!**thump!*


    My heart felt like it was going to jump out of my body from the sudden voice.


    What the fuck!! The Magician girl!! Where did she come from? All of a sudden I felt a large amount of magic power gathering behind me. It felt very dense, this level of magical power definitely cannot be from a beginner. This person is obviously very skilled. They are skilled enough to hide their power so well that I didn''t even suspect anything. I didn''t even bother using the [ Devil-Queen''s eyes ] on the Adventurers. Just by looking at them I could tell that they were extremely inexperienced.


    And the elements I''m feeling...Fire and...Curse? She is able to use Curse element?


    As Lilith, I couldn''t get the opportunity to study the Curse element but it''s a powerful type of magic in its own right. Not everyone can use this magic and the people who can are very few in numbers. This Curse element is used by implementing it with other elements the user possesses, like creating Cursed fire or Cursed water.


    The effects can be different based on the user but still, they are all deadly. Curses can be applied to objects or someone''s body to alter their physical appearance. When applied to other magic most people can''t even sense the use of Curse magic.


    I don''t have the power to survive a Cursed magician on my own. There''s only one thing I can do now and that''s to try and convince her not to kill me.


    "I mean no harm..."


    I slowly raise my arms into the air to show that I didn''t have any weapons on me.


    "You know? I noticed you have been tailing us for hours now. You could''ve just told us about the goblins."


    "Yes...I have been following you for hours and I didn''t do anything to warn you but I still had my reasons for that. However, you also could have saved them but you didn''t."


    "Well, anyway~ It''s not like I''m dead and I didn''t really care for them anyway. I was just tagging along."


    I felt the dense magical energy disperse into the air. I let out a sigh and slowly turn around. Goddammit, this suit is embarrassing. What the...she seems a lot older now. She was in her teens when she was with those newbies but now she looks to be in her early 30s. Must be because of her Curse Magic. I still had my face covered so she couldn''t see my face.


    "Thank you."


    "What are you thanking me for? I still didn''t say you could leave though, right?"


    "What...what do you want from me?"


    "You aura...it''s really odd...it feels really sinister but I don''t think your level is high at all right? Who are you?"


    "I''m sorry. I don''t know what you mean."


    "Ara ~ You should stop feigning ignorance. Not only your aura but also the fact that you are in this forest is suspicious in itself. This forest is extremely dangerous for a low-level like you."


    She had a kind of an evil smile as she was speaking. She doesn''t seem like she is angry but it kind of feels scary.


    "If you are talking about being suspicious then what about you? You just left your party members to die. So why don''t you tell me who you are then?"


    "What?"


    As soon as I ask about her identity, she glares at me with killing intent. This brat is actually trying to scare me with the threat of death, heh that''s funny. I have killed hundreds of millions during my time as the Devil-Queen and even more tried to kill me. This cunt actually thinks she could scare the likes of me. Well, she could kill me right now though. Noticing that I didn''t even flinch she calms down and takes a breath.


    "Really? Most low-levels would cower in fear but you barely flinched."


    "Oh? Is that so?"


    "Yeah~ Alright enough of that. I''m Emma, An Adventurer."


    "I''m Leon. Cavewoman."

    Hmm...Not that much but she could have demolished me at any time. An Elf huh? She is using status alteration to hide her real stats while using Curse magic to change her appearance but with my eyes, I could see her true appearance and status.


    Instead of the black hair and brown eyes, she was disguising herself with she had silver hair and green eyes. She looked to be in her late 20s by human standards. Honestly, she looks wildly captivating. I would fall for her if I was a normal person.


    Emmelia Silvergreen huh? Her ''sense'' is really high compared to her level. [ Presence Concealment ] and [ Complete Invisibility ] that''s how she was able to disappear without a trace. Damn, That''s cheating!! It would be so easy to hunt with those skills active at the same time.


    "Alright, Emma. Do you mind if I take the supplies from that carriage?"


    "Oh? I don''t mind. There are a few barrels of alcohol in there so just leave one for me."


    "Alright. Thanks."


    "You don''t have to thank me. I''m quite interested in you ~ You are all mysterious and stuff! I wanna see your face! And that suit makes your body looks so erotic!!"


    Fuck!! I don''t say anything and move towards the carriage. The goblins just left the two male bodies right there and took the females. They don''t understand the true value of the things in the carriage. I took everything from the carriage. There were six barrels of oil, 3 barrels of Alcohol, some clothing, blankets and some light armors.


    It''s a shame they weren''t cooking oil. From all the clothing and armors the only things that could be useful to me was a dark red mantle, a pair of leather boots and some light armors. Everything else couldn''t even fit me. I place everything except for a barrel of the alcohol in my inventory.


    ''Emma'' was surprised to see me use Spatial magic. Did this magic die out or something? During my time as the Devil-Queen, even if it wasn''t a common occurrence a lot of people were able to use it though.


    After finishing up with the carriage, I went over to the head smashed corpses to search their body. The goblins took the weapons but their money should still be left. I searched for the young boy''s body and I found a small bag making some metallic noise. It seems that he didn''t have much on him so I moved on to the next one. This one didn''t disappoint me at all as the bag was kinda heavy. I don''t know about the currency of this time but money is still money. After I got all the money, I put all of it in my storage.


    "You are a bit greedy. Aren''t you?"


    "Hmm...I don''t have a lot of things to support myself with at the moment so of course, I would be a little greedy when taking from others."


    "I guess you are right but...why would a cave woman need money?"


    "..."


    I don''t say anything to reply. Well, now that they have helped me out so much the least I can do for them is bury their bodies. It didn''t look like the elf was going to anyway.


    I move their bodies parallel to each other than use Earth Magic to bury them 6 feet under. Alright, this should be alright. I am gonna head back to my cave, I''m really hungry right now.


    "That was really nice of you. You are going to leave now right?"


    "Yeah."


    "I see. Well, see you then."


    She lifts up the barrel of Alcohol with her arms then just disappeared again. That girl is dangerous. It''s wise to just not get in contact with people like that. I open up my map then start making my way towards my cave.

    Damn, I didn''t realize I was that far. It took a while for me to get back but I was finally here. I gathered some firewood on my way back to help me cook the rabbits.


    I open up the entrance to the cave and sit down. Using Earth magic I make a makeshift stove, a clay pan, a spoon, a plate, and a clay mug then wash them thoroughly with Water and Lifestyle magic.


    I set the stove with the firewoods and the pan then took out a barrel of alcohol and 2 of the rabbits. Things stored in storage were in a state of suspended animation so they would be okay no matter how long they were in there for.


    The first thing was to skin the rabbits. I did it before say a few thousand years ago I could do it I again, probably. I take out a small knife I had from my Storage then slowly start skinning the rabbit, making sure not to mess up. It took way more time than I expected it to but I was able to somehow finish.


    Then I removed the feet and took out the guts. Doing this felt a lot easier than skinning it. After that, I cut the meat into several pieces then cleaned them with Water magic.


    (A/N: Just wanna say it''s not like I ever did or know anything like this so I only searched up some things so I could write a bit about the process. So for all you rabbit hunters out there don''t take it seriously.)


    I lit the firewoods under the stove with Fire Magic then poured some alcohol out from the barrel into the mug. I was going to try and fry the meat with alcohol since I didn''t have anything else with me. With my [ Abnormal Status Nullification ] I didn''t have to worry about getting drunk.


    I poured a little bit of Alcohol into the pan and waited for it to heat up a bit. Then after a while, I placed some of the meat onto the pan and let them heat up so the fat from the meat could separate. I made sure not to burn them and after a while, the fat gathered under the meat. After that, I poured in some more alcohol and let it fry slowly while making sure it was done well. When it was all done I used the spoon to place them on the plate.


    (A/N: Again don''t know how to cook, just wanted to write it.)


    I repeated the process for the rest of the meat until I was done with frying all of them. After I finished I cleaned up everything and put the clay material in my storage. I put out the fire as well and used Wind magic to disperse the smoke and smell.


    It''s been a while since I have eaten anything so it didn''t matter what the food tasted like as long as I could get something in my stomach. I finally settled down and took the first bite from a piece. It tasted awful, bland. But it didn''t matter, my hunger was outweighed my sense of taste at that time.


    After I was done eating I washed everything and put them in my storage. I couldn''t eat all of the meat so I also put the leftovers in my storage for later consumption.


    I entered the cave then sealed the entrance again. I took off the full body suit and once again used Lifestyle magic to clean the cave and myself. I wouldn''t be able to sleep well if I didn''t at least clean myself after this long day. As Lilith, I always preferred sleeping without any clothes on and that seemed to have stuck.


    Then I took out 4 the blankets from my storage and cleaned them as well before laying two down on the floor. I used one as a pillow and the other one for myself.


    It was my first day out after a few thousand years and it was kinda hectic. I hope that girl doesn''t cause any trouble for me in the future.

 Chapter 6: Goblin Hunt

    The time right now is almost at midnight.


    It''s been a few days since I encountered the Magician girl and those Adventurers. I have been monitoring that goblin hideout to figure out their routines and how they behave.


    I noticed that around midnight almost all the goblins go back into the cave with only two of them standing guard at the entrance. I haven''t seen any Hobgoblin leader come outside the cave but I am 100 percent sure that it''s inside the cave.


    I was planning on killing all the goblins in that cave to get a quick level boost so I remained at level 1 and continued to observe the goblins just for this reason. If I could level up at least 10 times or so,I''m gonna try and get out of this forest. It''s not pleasant living here at all.


    I was wearing the dark red mantle, an iron chest plate, a pair of arm guards and the leather boots from the Merchant''s supplies. If I could get the Magic Crystals from goblins, I would be able to apply some low-level Enchantments on these pieces of equipment.


    Various groups of goblins started coming out of the forest and entered the cave. Soon there were only two goblin guards left at the entrance.

    Their physical stats are much higher than mine but with my advanced skills, magic, and this abnormally sharp sword they shouldn''t be a problem.


    I have been increasing my Mp stat as well so now it went from 120 to Mp 200. I am able to launch a few continuous attack spells at once now.


    I take out my sword and held it in one hand while placing my other hand on the ground. Right now I was close enough to the goblins to affect them with my magic.


    [ Frost Domain ] I castan ice spell and it immediately freezes the ground along with the goblins'' feet holding them in their place. This magic''s full potential could freeze an entire continent at once but right now it only enough holds goblins in place. All my magic spells are now degraded from the lack of Mp.


    I grip my sword tightly and I use [Flash-Step]. In the blink of an eye, my body accelerates to its maximum speed as I slash towards the goblins. By the time I stop one of their head rolls on the ground while the other had a gaping wound on its chest.


    [ Level Up! ]


    It was a womanly voice ringing in my head. I ignored it, for now, to focus on the goblin.


    "Ahhh" It started rolling around on the ground and started screaming from the pain. I barely missed the second one and now it''s scream will alert the other ones. "Shit!"


    I instantly cast[Earth Wall] and block the entrance. I continuously use the same spell to create more walls from the inside.


    *sigh* Now they won''t be able to get out.


    I walk over to the goblin that was still alive and slice it''s head off.

    I heard the womanly voice again in my head. That was the voice of the World. Every living being could hear this voice as they leveled up or gained a new skill. I leveled up three times from killing those two goblins. That''s kind of weird...is it because of the sword''s ability? That''s fucking awesome!!

    Woah! It increased more than I predicted. This sword is truly broken. With the status boost from my class and this sword, leveling up may be more fun and faster than I predicted.


    It''s a pity that I''m not gonna be able to kill all the other goblins with this sword. Fighting all those goblins one on one is suicide so I thought of another way.


    I got six barrels of oil from that merchant but I didn''t have any use for it before so I figured out something I could do. I figured that with the help of this oil and magic I could burn all these goblins to ashes.


    I take out a small dagger and cut out the Magic Crystals from the two goblins. They were green in color and small in size just like the goblins. I wash the blood off of the crystals then put them in my storage.


    I take out 4 barrels of oil from my storage then open up a little hole at the bottom of the [Earth Walls] using magic.


    I will use Water magic to guide and carry the oil then use Earth Magic to make sure the oil reaches as far as it could.


    Alright, time to get started. I open up a barrel then start pouring the oil through the small hole while using Earth and Water magic to guide it through.


    I didn''t know how deep the cave went but I wanted to cover as much area as possible with these four barrels. I slowly went through all four of the barrels as I guided the oil deeper and deeper into the cave. I didn''t know how the goblins reacted to the oil but it didn''t really matter.


    Next was to use Fire magic to burn oil while using Wind magic to spread the fire into the deepest parts of the cave. I am planning on burning everything in that cave into cinders goblins or humans alike.


    I shoot a [ Flame Arrow ] into the cave entrance which immediately lights up the oil inside. In seconds I could hear goblins screaming from the inside.


    I take down the [Earth Wall] then use the spell [Flame Tornado] to generate a few small flame tornado inside the cave. This magic is the result of combining both Fire and Wind magic together. As long as I provide these tornadoes with magic, they will continue to absorb the fire from the oil and intensify the flames.


    I continue supplying the tornadoes with Fire and Wind magic as the screams from the goblins echoes out from the cave. Some goblin starts running towards the entrance but the fire prevents them from running outside.


    Along with the screams from the goblins, there was another noise ringing in my head.

    There are at least 50 goblins inside this cave so killing all these shits is definitely giving me the experience I need. I continued supplying the tornadoes with magic until my Mp was nearly drained. I used the last but of my, Mp to seal up the entrance again. I''m sure there are a few still alive inside along with the Hobgoblin leader so I will have to deal with them when I go inside the cave.


    Level 4 -> Level 12


    As the leveling up stops my body starts glowing red.


    "Aaaghhh" My whole body starts experiencing agonizing pain but I could also feel my body getting stronger, muscles getting firmer and sturdier.As you level up your body also changes to fit your level''s status. Obviously, you aren''t going to turn into bodybuilders when you hit a high level but your body will definitely be sturdier. It doesn''t usually cause any pain if you level up once at a time but leveling too many times at once was the problem.


    With my [ Devil-Queen''s Body ] I am naturally resistant to most blunt or magic attacks from opponents of the same or a few levels higher but with enough force, I could get seriously injured or even die so leveling up increases my body''s natural resistance.Within a few minutes, the pain subsided and my body no longer glowed red. My Mp right now was very low even though I leveled up so much but it''s already recovering with [Mp Absorption].


    My status went up quite a lot as well.

    When leveling up my class causes my stats to increase way more than it would for normal people so my stats are significantly better than the average people at my level.Status for people with physical type classes obviously increases their strength or agility more than their Mp or Intelligence and vice versa for Magicians.But in my case, it''s an overall increase where none of my stats outdoes the others and increases about the same amount when leveling up. My Mp is way higher than all my other stats because of the circumstances with the seal and I have been increasing my Mp separately as well. Normally that wouldn''t be the case.

    It''s almost time for sunrise. I started around midnight.


    When I was Leon I would have to pull all-nighters from time to time because of work but that''s basically nothing compared to Lilith fighting for multiple days without rest. Having lost all my powers I lost all my endurance.My Mp didn''t take long to recover with the help of my skill. As I level up my skills also improve so the recovery time was, of course, faster than before.


    Now it''s time. I will go into the cave and exterminate the rest of the goblins and collect the Magic Crystals from the goblins. I''m sure this would take a long time to finish but it''s not like I have any other options.


    As soon as I open up the entrance to the cave a burst of smoke flies out. Fuck too much!!

    It''s possible that the goblins died from the smoke and I didn''t get any experience from that. Hope not though.


    From the outside, the cave looked very dark but with my [Devil-Queen''s eyes] and [Presence Detection] it''s really no problem for me. With the small dagger in my hand, I walk into the cave.


    The whole cave smelled disgusting. I had covered my mouth with the slime mask but the smell was still really strong. Not even within 5 steps, there were piles of goblin corpses on the ground. It seems that all the goblins started dying around this area as the pile of corpses only continued on from there.


    I start with the closest one and cut out it''s Magic Crystal.


    1...this was only the first one. I had dozens more to go. I continued cutting out the Magic Crystals while going deeper and deeper into the cave. The cave had several smaller sections that one could get lost in easily but with my [Mental Map] I didn''t have to worry about that.I continued exploring the cave while collecting all the Magic Crystals from the goblin corpses laying all around.


    39...40. It was my fortieth Magic Crystals and I couldn''t see any more goblin corpses. It''s way less than the number of goblins I predicted there to be. I still haven''t explored all the parts of the cave so the rest are probably hiding somewhere with the Hobgoblin.


    These monsters are really troublesome but still fun to kill. Who wouldn''t kill monsters for the sake of a good fight? As Lilith, I enjoyed hunting monsters and leveling up. The rush of a battle, fighting with your life in the line, living every day on the edge, these are things I experienced a long time ago but had forgotten in time. Being back to level 1 reminded me of my younger days. I must say I am enjoying working like this even now.


    The Leon part of me would''ve been a bit hesitant but deep down he would have also enjoyed this to some extent. As I going deeper and deeper into the cave I saw something really gruesome.


    Two corpses strapped to a wooden board covering an entrance but they weren''t goblin corpses...They were humans. These girls are probably the ones these goblins kidnapped from that Adventurers'' group. They were severely burned to the point where one couldn''t even tell if they were humans. I''m guessing the goblins used them as a shield to prevent the fire from going inside that entrance.


    I removed the wooden board with the corpses from the entrance and proceeded to walk inside. I immediately detected several presences all over. Most were goblins but...there are more than just one Hobgoblin.


    This is unexpected. I didn''t think there would be more than one Hobgoblin. They typically didn''t like to be with other Hobgoblins so each chose to lead their own goblin groups. I guess even monster change in a few thousand years?


    There were 4 Hobgoblins and 13 more goblins all around the cave. All of them looked ready to fight. This space was like a giant room so I could swing my sword freely here. This means I will be able to get the bonus stats and experience from the sword. Also now that I''ve leveled up, I will able to use a few Swordsmanship skills. When usingSwordsmanship skills, it''s essentially using an extended version of your sword so any sword''s unique ability will be applied to every attack.

    "Attack!!" The Hobgoblin leader commands the goblins to attack while the Hobgoblin mage starts chanting a spell.


    I take my stance with my sword and activate [Physical Enhancement]. My body glows green from the effects as the skill activates.A goblin came swinging his shortsword from the front while two others came to attack from behind. The rest of the goblins stayed right behind them as if waiting to see the result.


    I swing my sword at the goblin in front of who was still running towards me,


    [ Slash! ]


    A shockwave gets released from the sword cleanly cuts through the goblin''s head. I jump up with a flip while shooting a [Flame Arrow] at the Hobgoblin chanting the spell. The arrow pierces his shoulder causing him to stop chanting.


    "What!!"


    "All attack now!!"


    I land on the ground and cut the two goblins that were attacking from behind. The rest of the goblins don''t hold back seeing their own getting killed so easily and attacks all at once.


    I let all of the surround me then swing my sword in a circle using [Tornado Slash] creating a circular shockwave to cut all their bodies in half.


    [ Level Up! ]


    All the Hobgoblins gets shocked by their underlings getting killed so easily.


    The Hobgoblin Leader pulls out a giant sword then jumps and swings at me. Without holding back I collide with the massive sword head on.


    I expected some force to push me back but it felt as though I had cut through butter as my sword cleanly goes through the broad and directly slices through the Hobgoblin''s neck. With this sword I could ignore anyone''s defense status, it''s even cutting through metal like nothing. Who the hell made this sword?


    [ Level up!! ]


    I leveled up once but I didn''t have any time to focus on that as two of the three remaining Hobgoblins run towards me at full-speed with their swords.


    [ Frost Domain ] I cast this Ice spell again to freeze my enemies in place then use [ Slash! ] to cut off heads.

    I leveled up twice from killing these 2 that means I was at the brink of leveling up from killing the last one.


    Now that Hobgoblin mage was the only one left. He was cowering in fear at the sight of his comrades falling by my hand. If I was Leon I would have felt some pity for this thing but with my current mindset, it''s utterly disgusting.


    I use [ Slash! ] once again cutting the Hobgoblin in two. With this, it was done. The goblin hunt was complete.

 Chapter 7: Demons Nest

    It was around noon by the time I got out. I spent more than 12 hours of hunting.


    After collecting all the Magic Crystals from goblins and Hobgoblins, I took the corpses of the two human girls with me. I buried them in the same place as I did for the boy and the merchant.After everything''s said and done I am extremely happy from the outcome but there''s still something bothering me. Ever since I leveled up and my ''Sense'' status increased I could vaguely feel someone watching me. I could only get a dubious feeling but I know someone''s there.


    "Who''s there!? Show yourself!!" I suddenly yelled at the tree behind me very loudly. I wait for a while but get no reply. I stood at the same place without moving until a female voice calls out to me,


    "Ara~ I didn''t think you''d notice but you didn''t even move after you did."


    It was ''Emma'' the elf, huh? Why is she stalking me? Well it''s a good thing she showed up but it''s troublesome for someone to be tailing me.


    "So it was you huh? Why are you following me?"


    "So cold~ I''m just a bit interested, you know?"


    "A ''bit'' interested? How long have you been following me for?"


    "Since we last met ~ But you couldn''t sense me at all back then. How did you suddenly know? For normal people to know that I''m following them their status has to be at least a few levels higher than mine but I didn''t expect you to notice at all."


    What the fuck? From when we last met? Why is she this persistent? I don''t like this kind of people.


    "I didn''t. It was a gut feeling."


    "Hoh! So it was on a whim? I can''t believe you got me to reveal myself just on a whim. I feel like a rookie now ~"


    Her personality is a bit puzzling. When those Adventurers died she didn''t even spare them a glance because she didn''t care about them but when she encountered someone she found "interesting" she went out of her way to stalk that person. I don''t know what would happen if I keep getting involved with her but I need her help at the moment.


    "Emma, I need your help with something."


    "Oh? What do you need help with?"


    She seems really eager for some reason. Why? Stop being like that!! It''s weird as fuck!


    "Do you know where the nearest town is?"


    "You want to go to the nearest town? If you want I could show you the way." She offers very politely. It''s very suspicious that she is even willing to help at all so I have to be wary of her.


    "That would be very helpful but are you sure?"


    "Yeah! I was getting tired of staying in this forest anyway and I ran out of supplies as well. So how about tomorrow morning? we could probably make it before the afternoon."


    "Sure. Tomorrow sounds good."


    It''s still weird but I''m glad she decided to help otherwise I would have just wandered around until I found a random town. Finally, I will be able to get some good food and a comfortable place to live in. Ahh...a comfortable bed...


    "Alright. We can meet here tomorrow."


    "Why? I already know you live in that cave. I will just stay with you!"


    Fuck! I tried to leave but didn''t expect her to say that she''d stay. I wanted to Enchant my armors today with the Magic Crystals I got. If I refuse she will probably get mad and refuse to lead me to the town. Dammit! I have no choice but to agree. This troublesome idiot...


    "You don''t want me to? I mean I have already seen your face when you were eating outside that cave so you don''t have to worry about hiding it. By the way, you look really beautiful, like a cold beauty~"


    This fucking Elf! I swear to God!! She still didn''t tell me that she is an elf so I will continue to pretend that I don''t know.

    I finished up my portion and cleaned up everything with magic. Emma was just sitting and reading a book. I have really no knowledge about the current world right now.

    I open up the cave entrance for her. She took one of the blankets I placed there and fell asleep. How is she so carefree? She isn''t threatened by me at all. Wait, never mind I''m only level 15 anyway. I guess I was a bit wrong about her. Since she knew they were gonna die anyway she just used them to her benefit. Kinda like me to be honest.


    Now that she''s asleep, I can enchant my armors now. I took off the Dark red mantle, the chest plate, the arm guards and the leather boots then took out all the Magic Crystals from my storage.


    There were 53 goblin Crystals and 4 Hobgoblin Crystals. The Hobgoblin ones were a bit bigger in size and slightly different color.I can divide them among all my equipment with each getting one Hobgoblin Crystal and 13 goblin Crystals. Even if I use this many Crystals the effect will still rely on the quality of the items and Crystals.


    First was the Dark Red Mantle. I infused it with a layer of magic then placed the Magic Crystals on it. I activated my skill [ Accessory Enchantments ] and ablue magic circle appeared on it then the Crystals melted into the Mantle without a trace. I repeated the process on the other pieces of equipment. after all the enchantments were complete I used [Devil-Queen''s Eyes] to check their status.

    Realm of the Gods...


    Gods or Goddesses are all powerful beings that create, destroys or manages various versions of Earth with life.


    All these worlds occupied the same space but a strong magical barrier prevented them from interacting with each other. Once in a while, a few of these worlds would shift in and out of other world''s space but only for a fraction of a second so no one even notices them.


    The Gods have been monitoring these worlds from the beginning of time and will continue to do as long as they exist.


    However, there are rules and regulations that must be followed even in the Realms of Gods. They can''t just create a world out of thin air whenever they want or destroy any world because they are just angry. Even when managing a world they can''t directly interfere with the lives of the people in that world. These rules were enforced by the Father of all Gods so it was impossible to break them. So the rules were strictly followed by all the Gods and Goddesses and there are serious punishments for the gods when they break these rules.


    But the Gods and Goddesses decided to bend the rules themselves when in a certain world a monstrous being threatened their existence as Gods. Its power was nearly reaching that of the Gods themselves.


    The Goddess managing that world made an effort to contact that monster in an effort to stop it from growing any further by summoning a Hero from another world. Heroes were always summoned from worlds that didn''t have any God monitoring it.


    The Goddess gave the Hero powers but her growth was slow and insignificant compared to the monster. It was obvious to the goddess that the Hero had no chance against that monster and would perish almost immediately.


    With no other option, she contacted her fellow Gods to discuss the issue. Normally, a God doesn''t get involved with the management of their peers and all Gods try to take care of their world by themselves. But this time it was different.


    When the Goddess brought the knowledge of this unique existence to light, the other Gods became anxious. Gods and Goddesses were prideful beings.     So they broke their own rules that existed from the beginning of time. So they came up with a plan then crafted an item to seal this monster. They couldn''t directly kill the monster because it was virtually impossible for a God to physically interfere with a mortal world.


    The Gods planted seeds of doubts and greed into the minds of the loyal subordinates of the monster.


    The subordinates were manipulated into thinking that they were the ones that came up with the method to seal their master and to think that betraying the monster''s trust was the right thing to do.


    In the end, everything played out exactly the way the Gods hoped it would and not even the monster knew about this heinous act against it.


    This monster was the Devil-Queen that almost conquered the world with her army.


    Thousands of years passed and she was forgotten. The Gods didn''t care after she was dealt with so they left everything to the Goddess who was originally in charge of that world.


    The Goddess was known as Amis and the world she managed was called Xemia. Amis monitored her world every day to make sure the Devil-Queen''s seal was protected until she died.


    However, one day suddenly when a Godless Earth was shifting through the dimension of Xemia for a fraction of a second someone had unexpectedly died in that time and crossed over to Xemia. This was the biggest coincidence to occur in the history of all existence. Nothing like this had ever happened anywhere before.


    But that wasn''t all. Not only did this person die during that moment and cross over to Xemia his soul also entered the seal of the Devil-Queen.


    The Goddess Amis was flabbergasted from the situation. It happened so fast that she didn''t even know how to react. Not in all of her lifetime, she would have thought that something like this was even remotely possible.


    "How...how is this even possible?" Amis was going mad over this stupidly unbelievable coincidence. She didn''t even know what would happen after. She started biting her nails nervously while giving all of her attention to the seal.


    She continued watching the seal for hours but nothing had happened. She let out a sigh thinking there was nothing to worry about. She turned her head to look at the other situations of the world when suddenly a burst of magical power erupted from the location of the seal.


    Amis'' face went pale as she saw a naked woman lying inside the cave where the seal was at.

 Chapter 8: Adventurers Guild

    Emma and I woke up early to get out of the forest. I was honestly kind of excited to go to a town. Part of me wanted to see how civilization turned out after a few millennia and there was a part of me that just wanted to see a city in another world.


    I packed up the blankets and everything else I had left inside the cave then placed them inside my storage. It''s kind of sad that getting out of this forest would be the best thing to happen to me in a few thousand years.


    "You ready?"


    "Yeah, I''m ready. Let''s go."


    We started walking out of the forest early in the morning. It was a decently long walk but not that tiring. On our way, Emma kept on talking about food. She mentioned some of her favorite foods were from the capital and she would be going there after she was done with her business. I still didn''t know what her business was about but it''s not my place to care. Her constant talk about food made me really hungry as I didn''t even have anything to eat for breakfast.


    It was noon by the time we arrived at the front gate. It looked somewhat decorated but nothing over the top. There were two guards standing in front of the gate. As we approached the gate the guards noticed us. I noticed upon getting closer that one of the guards was a girl. She walked towards us saying,


    "Welcome to Transmere. Please show me your ID and pay 5 silvers for entering."


    "Hello, my name is Emma. Here are my ID and the fee. My friend here is Leon. She lost her ID during our travel but she can still pay the fee." Emma comes forward to greet the guards and explain the situation while I stayed behind her. Though I need to change my name to something else. ''Leon'' is a bit weird considering my current situation.


    "That''s okay. You can get a new one made at the Adventurers'' Guild. I recommend heading their first." The guard was polite and gave us permission to enter freely.


    "Thank you for understanding." I give her the money and she smiles opening the gate. I had my face covered so I nod before entering.


    Hm. Lively town honestly. People of various races were walking about in the streets. That''s odd...back then humans and the other demi-human races were always separated. All humans, Demi-humans, and Devils lived in separate continents. Humans and Demi-humans banded together to take on my Devil army but they had always hated each other. Did they dissolve their differences? Well, whatever the case I suppose it is kinda nice seeing Humans and Demi-humans living together. As expected, I don''t see any Devils. I''m sure a devil like me wouldn''t really fit in anywhere if they knew the real me.


    Hmm...there''s a nice smell in the air. It''s the smell of food from the restaurants around.


    "Feeling kinda hungry right now."


    Emma notices my offhanded remark and suggests,


    "Why don''t we go to the Adventurers'' Guild to register you first? Then we could find a good Inn that serves good food."


    "Sounds good."


    Saying so we made our way to the Adventurers'' Guild. It''s a church-like building that looks very old. They should repaint or something. The entrance was like that of swinging tavern-like doors.


    I could hear loud cheering and laughing coming from inside. They honestly just sound like a bunch of thugs.


    Emma pushes her way in through the doors and I walk in behind. Everyone immediately turned their heads to look at us, they were mostly men but I could see a lot of women around as well. They were different kinds of people all around us, a lot of the men were staring at Emma. Unlike me who was wearing a mantle to cover my body, Emma was wearing a Magician''s robe which still exposed her upper chest area. Emma ignored everything around her and went straight to the counter.


    "Hello. Welcome to the guild. How may I help you?"


    Behind the counter, there was a beautiful lady sitting down. She had silver hair, blue eyes and a mature charm to her face. She wore a suit like clothing making her look like an office lady.     "Hey, my friend here wants to register so can you please help?" Emma says pointing at me.


    "Sure, is this your first time registering?" The receptionist lady turns to me and asks.


    "Yes, it''s my first time." That kinda sounds wrong.


    "Alright, that''s no problem. All you need to do is fill up this form and we will do a quick criminal check to make sure you are eligible." The lady smiles hands me a clipboard with a pen and paper attached to it.


    "Yes, thank you."


    The pen seems to be some kind of magical tool, there was a small Magical Crystal at the bottom. Never seen anything like this before.


    The form asked for basic information like name, age, race, gender, class and etc. It didn''t seem like I needed to fill up everything, there was a star next to ones I must. It was full name, age, gender and class.


    First, the name. I don''t wanna use Leon since it sounds too much like a boy so I will go with Lilith. It doesn''t look like anyone knows me anymore at this time anyway for my last name I will just use Adele, it sounds like an abbreviation of Aldain. So it''s Lilith Adele.


    For the age...25, let''s move on.


    For my class the best option would be Magic Swordsman, it would explain both my physical and magical attributes.


    I filled up the rest of the minor details and handed the clipboard back the receptionist lady. She looked over it quickly before going to the back to get something. She came back after a few minutes with some kind of orb, looks like another magical device I have never seen.


    "Please place your hand on this. It will scan you for any criminal activity in the past year."


    Past year right...I placed my hand on the orb and a few seconds later it lighted up green.


    "Looks like there''s no problem. Please wait for a little bit while I get your ID card ready." She took the orb and went to the back again.


    It''s fortunate that the orb only scanned the past year and didn''t look into my whole life. This place is like a half tavern/restaurant. Everyone is either eating or drinking something. A lot of the people are still staring at us, I hope these idiots don''t cause any trouble later.


    "I''m sorry for making you wait." The receptionist comes back and takes her seat.


    "It''s no problem."


    "Alright, before I give you the card I need to go over a few rules with you. First, you have to fulfill a request every 30 days for your guild ID to remain valid. You would also have to re-issue your card every year."


    "Excuse me, what if you are trapped somewhere or in a place where it''s impossible to get back within a month?"


    "If you have your own circumstances and have proof then it''s okay, we will look into it."


    I nod at her answer and she continues her explanation.


    "Then second, you can only accept a request that''s equivalent to your rank. The ranks go up from F to S for both the requests and Adventurers. You can increase your rank by doing a certain number of the same request and when you are first starting you can do both rank E and rank F quests. To rank up from D to C there is a practical rank-up exam. Ranking up to S and A is based on recommendations or merits. The Guildhall is open from sunrise to midnight so be sure to hand in your quests before then or wait for the next day. Oh, and the quest board is right over there."


    She points towards a huge wooden board at the side of the guild hall.


    "Finally, don''t cause any trouble within the Guildhall, if you have any issues with anyone please take care of it outside or apply for an official duel." Her tone got a bit serious as she was saying so. I only nodded and said,


    "Thank you for your help."


    "No problem, I''m only doing my job. With all that out of the way, this is your Guild card. It''s been updated with your information and for security measures, only you and anyone you directly hand it to can see it''s contents. Any questions?"


    "No, I understand."


    "Good, here''s your card. Please make sure not to lose it. It will cost 10 silvers to reissue for another card."


    "Yes, thank you." I receive the card from and look at it. It was a silver card with my name, age, class and some kind of number on it.


    "Excuse me, what is this number for?"


    "That is your I.D. number. Hundreds of Adventurers registers everywhere on a daily basis so we have to keep track of them so that''s what the number is for."


    "Ah. I see thank you." My I.D. number was F-6172019.


    "Don''t mention it. My name is Mary. If you have any other questions or need anything please feel free to ask."


    "Excuse me, do you know any good Inns? It''s our first time in this town." Emma quickly butts in after the registration was done with.


    "Uh yes. There is an inn called Lion''s Den. It''s a straight then right from the Guildhall. There is a big sign outside so you would notice it right away. Just say the receptionist Mary sent you and they will give you a discount."


    "Thank you very much again. It''s really helpful."


    "As I said, it''s really nothing. By the way, are you going to be accepting any requests today?"


    "No, I will hold off for today. I will come again tomorrow. What about you Emma?"


    She nodded her head towards Mary saying no.


    "Oh, I see. Then I will look forward to it tomorrow."


    "Alright then, see you tomorrow."


    Mary had a smile on her face throughout our entire exchange. I guess that''s what a pro is huh? She was really nice though so no complaints from me. After finishing our business we headed straight for the inn.

 Chapter 9: Guildmaster Nag

    The Inn was very easy to find. After walking for a bit we noticed on our right, the huge sign of the Lion''s Den inn. They even had a cartoonish lion drawn on the side.


    "Guess this is the place then huh?" Emma spoke out sarcastically.


    I smiled at her words and pushed the doors open to the Inn. Upon entering I saw the receptionist desk right at the front with two doors on both sides of the room. From one of them, I could hear loud noises coming out so I''m guessing that''s most likely the dining hall.


    There was no one at the counter but there was a little call bell at the desk. Emma and rang the bell and before long a young girl about the age of 14 came out from one of the doors. She was fairly short, slim with short hair and two animal-like ears on top of her head with a tail coming out from behind. That''s right, she was a beast-man. I can''t tell for sure by her looks but based on the name of this place pretty sure she is a lion beast-man.


    Her eyes lighted up when she saw us and hurriedly turned around towards the door before yelling out,


    "Mom! New customers!!"


    "Coming!!" A woman''s voice came out from the back then soon after a middle-aged lady walked put wearing an apron with the cartoonish lion from outside and walked behind the receptionist''s desk. Though she''s a human.


    "Hi there, my name is Alma, I''m the manager here. What can I do for you today?"


    "Hello, I''m Emma and this is Lilith. We were recommended here by receptionist Mary?"


    "Ah Mary, it''s been a while since I''ve last seen her. I wonder how that girl is doing these days. So, you girls here to stay for a bit?"


    "Oh yeah. Can we know how much is the cost for one night?"


    "Regularly it costs 3 silvers for one full day with 3 meals and use of the bathhouse but since you guys are here ''cause of Mary...how about 2 silvers?"


    They have a bathhouse. Good...that''s good.


    "Thank you very much. That''s good. I will stay here for 2 weeks then. How about you Lilith?" Emma turns to me to ask.


    "Then I would also go for 2 weeks now." I had gotten about 50 silver coins and 500 copper coins from that merchant and I spent 5 silver coins to enter the city. Now I''m paying 28 silver coins in total so that leaves me with 17 more silver coins without using the copper coins.


    I just realized that the entrance fee is kind of really high. It only costs 2 silvers for the inn so that''s 200 copper coins but it costs 5 silvers in other words 500 copper coins. Is it to prevent citizens from migrating? Wait, do I have to pay 5 silvers every time I enter the town? I will have to ask Emma about that later.


    I hand over the money and Manager Alma gives me a receipt.


    "Would you like to have lunch now?"

    At the moment Nag''s in his office at the Guild, going over all his paperwork. One thing he doesn''t like about being the Guildmaster is all the paperwork he has to do.


    While he was focused on his work, a lady walked into his office with several papers on her hand. She was a mature beauty, wearing official clothing and an aura that made it seem difficult to approach her. Agne Burnstein, she was the Guildmaster''s secretary. She always does her work diligently and obeys all the rules very strictly.

    "Did anyone else besides the regulars from this town enter after the merchant left the previous town?"


    She looked the papers again before answering, "Um...so far the only people to enter are two women and one of them just registered for the Guild."


    "Just registered? How old were they?"


    "One of them was 25, but we don''t know about the other person. She seemed to be in her late 20s or early 30s"


    "Keep an eye on those two for now. I will try to investigate what happened with those merchants and Adventurers." Nag sat up straight in his seat and replied in a commanding tone.


    "Understood, Sir." Agne nodded flipping through the papers on her hand. "There''s also news from the Capital."


    "From the Capital?" Nag was a bit surprised, usually, when there''s any news from the Capital it''s most likely because the situation there is an emergency, rarely ever is there any ''good'' news.


    "Yes, apparently Heroes were summoned by the Goddess."


    "''Heroes'' more than one?" In the past when the Hero was summoned, it was written that it was only one person so it was right to be surprised about that.


    "Yes there are 20 people but only one of them has the ''Hero'' class. The rest has classes like ''Sage'', ''Holy Knight'', ''Light Magician'' and etc. Almost all of them have the power to use Light Magic."


    "What?! Seriously? In the past, only the Hero had the ability to use Light Magic but almost 20 people now...Wait! Do we know why they were summoned in the first place? The War with the Devils has been going on for a long time now but What''s the purpose of summoning so many Heroes so suddenly?"


    It''s true that the war with the Devils was going on for centuries but both sides were in a stalemate being equal in terms of power so neither sides made any major advances for years. Also the Goddess summoning Heroes? No such thing happened for millenniums so why so suddenly?


    "According to the Church, the ancient Devil-Queen has reappeared and the Heroes were summoned to defeat her before she gets too powerful. With the current Devil-Queen and the Ancient Devil-Queen, we wouldn''t stand a chance by ourselves."


    "The Ancient Devil-Queen? I thought that was only a myth. Who would''ve thought that was real. But if that''s true then....even though the current Devil-Queen holds the title only in name she''s still very powerful and with someone who we only know from myths...." Nag pauses without wanting to finish the sentence but Agne continues,


    "The situation can be disastrous."


    Nag let out a tired sigh saying, "How''s the Capital handling the situation?"


    "For the time being, the Heroes are going to be trained in the Capital. They will probably be used to make advances in the war. By now the news about the Heroes have spread all over but only the Guildmasters know about the situation about the Ancient Devil-Queen."


    "Okay, I understand. This town is known for the Demon''s Nest forest so the Heroes may be coming here to investigate the forest after they finish their training and everything. Keep the Guild''s staff notified about the situation so they can be ready when the time comes. Don''t mention anything about The Ancient Devil-Queen, I will be dealing with that matter later on."


    "Yes, I understand Sir."

 Chapter 10: The Holy Maiden Remiel

    ¡ð¡ñ¡ð¡ñ¡ð¡ñ


    Right now it''s around midnight. After lunch, I went out with Emma to purchase some normal clothing.


    Emma showed me what to buy such as normal female Adventurers'' clothing like blouses and pants. She showed me what underwear to get as well. Surprisingly enough the underwear here is almost exactly like the ones from Earth. They have bras, panties and even lingerie. There was also a special type of underwear for Adventurers, which were basically sport¡¯s underwear. I¡¯m guessing the Hero had something to do with these types of clothing being popular here.


    Other than that I also bought some casual wears for when I¡¯m not on a quest or just relaxing somewhere. I had Emma pick them out for me as I have no clue regarding these types of things. Something that was fascinating to me was that all the clothes were enchanted with some kind of size-adjustment magic which made it so everyone of all sizes could wear any clothing they wanted.


    After spending several hours shopping for clothes, we visited a weapon''s shop where I was surprised once again. There were Dwarves running the shop. During my time the dwarves had their own country in the Demi-human continent and they never left their country. Even though they didn''t have much talent in Magic, they were much more technologically advanced then all the other races and this alone made them one of the strongest world power besides the Humans and Devils. During the war, they signed a peace treaty with both the Humans and Devils, agreeing to sell weapons to both parties as long as we paid enough.


    I don''t know what the situation is like right now but I wouldn''t be too surprised if the Humans attacked them after my defeat. There were 2 dwarves in the shop, one of them was named Harry, and the other was his son, Oscar. They both seemed like nice people but it''s too bad I can''t say the same thing about the prices in their shop. Even a standard sword was super expensive. These dwarves have no empathy at all when it comes to their craftsmanship.


    I only bought a cheap sword since I didn''t want to attract attention swinging the Devil-sealing sword everywhere. That sword looks like an art piece more than a weapon. I didn''t buy any armor either since I already had the armor from before. For now, the cheap sword and armor will suffice. I will upgrade to better equipment when I have more money.


    It was night time by the time we finished shopping. Emma and I came back to the inn and had dinner. I have to say the food here is really delicious even though I haven''t tried food from other places yet. After the long day we''ve had today we agreed to go to our rooms and have a long rest.


    The room I am staying in looks very clean. There was one single person bed with a table and a chair in the corner. Other than that there was only a closet. There¡¯s also a toilet room within the room. The toilet here was another surprise for me here. It was like a modern toilet instead of the horrendous ancient squatting toilet I was expecting. This makes my life a lot easier.


    But now¡­ here I am. I have been waiting all day for this. Since it''s midnight everyone should be asleep now. Now¡­ I can finally enjoy the bathing house!!


    I asked Alma if it was okay to use it at night and she was nice enough to leave the bathhouse open for me. I was already prepared now I just have to get to the bathhouse. I activate my [ Presence Concealment ] and quietly make my way to the bathhouse.


    I made sure, no one was awake and in the bathhouse before entering. It was an indoor bathhouse with male and female sections separated. I guess female it is huh¡­


    There was a locker room right outside the actual bathing and showering area for people to place their belongings in. I already had all my stuff in my storage so I didn¡¯t really need to put anything in here.     There wasn¡¯t anyone here at all so I didn¡¯t bother covering myself but damn these scars look awful. Maybe I can find some way to get rid of them. I don''t think any normal Recovery magic would work but Restoration magic? I will have to do some research on that.


    "Alright, it''s time to enter!" I slide the door open slightly to enter then close it behind me. The bathing area was covered in steam from the hot water there. This bath operates with different modified Magic Crystals that cleans the water, dispenses hot and cold water and drains out the water. Magic makes life easier.


    Because of the Magic Crystals and such, the bath was kept very clean. This atmosphere is very relaxing. I go and take a shower first to clean myself up with actual water unlike cleaning myself with magic directly. It honestly feels better to do this without me using magic.


    "Time for the bath." I check the temperature of the water to make sure it''s warm enough then enter.


    "Man, this feels so relaxing...." I lean against the wall being submerged up till my chest, just letting everything go. This somehow makes me very sleepy. I wish I could do this every day. Once I get my own house, I will make a comfortable bathing area just for me. I''m looking forward to those days very much!

    The Kingdom of Vestaurus, The Royal Capital Osreles.


    The capital is a lively place all year round but it has been especially lively for the past few days. This is due to the summoning of Heroes that took place in the Celestial Church of the Goddess Amis.


    To be precise, it was the main branch of the Celestial Church of the Goddess Amis. The Celestial Church has many branches scattered throughout the continent. They have great influence over almost all the human territories that existed within this continent and have a considerable amount of power at their disposal. No one dares to oppose them as they fear they would be excommunicated. If that happened, it didn¡¯t matter where they went or who helped them, they would be hunted down like dogs and killed by the Celestial Church¡¯s Enforcers. No one knows how many enforcers there actually are but no one who ever dared to oppose the Church remained alive. Be it a peasant or even a king, all were killed without mercy for opposing the Church.


    Right now, It¡¯s around midnight, with the exception of the guards on patrol, everyone else had turned in for the night. Well almost everyone. A lady clothed in white and gold was kneeling in front of the majestic statue of the Goddess with praying hands. With one glance, anyone would be entranced by her looks. She was wearing a troubled look yet it didn¡¯t make her face any less beautiful. Even though she was covering every part of her body, her clothing only made her curves more apparent. Any normal man would fall for her in a heartbeat.


    This goddess of a woman was the Holy maiden of the Celestial Church, Remiel Ail Yinnan. The Holy Maiden is someone chosen by the Goddess Amis to relay her words to the world. She holds the highest position in the Church but never interferes with the external affairs of the church and leaves it to the Church elders.


    The matter of the Hero summoning was relayed to the Holy Maiden by the Goddess Amis first then only after the Holy Maiden made the necessary preparations were the Heroes summoned.


    Ever since the Goddess warned her about the awakening of the Ancient Devil-Queen, her mind has been a mess. The Goddess herself sounded impatient, even summoned 20 Heroes from another world at once. The Goddess said that she wanted this threat to be eliminated as fast as possible. She demanded that the Heroes be put to training immediately to get used to their abilities and face this threat head-on.


    If that was all, it would¡¯ve been just fine for the Holy Maiden but that wasn¡¯t all. The Goddess had also said somethings that sounded pretty absurd. She was telling the Holy Maiden something about their world now being connected and occupying the same plane as another. Of course, the Holy Maiden didn¡¯t have any clue about what was being said but one thing the Goddess said she understood very clearly. One thing she even told the Holy Maiden to not tell the Heroes about.


    From now on, other than the Heroes, more and more otherworldly people will be transported to this world.

 Chapter 11: I need to earn money

    ¡ð¡ñ¡ð¡ñ¡ð¡ñ


    I underestimated how much I was mentally fatigued due to being in that forest for so long. Finding such a comfortable bed at the inn I slept for almost an entire day.


    That whole day I only relaxed without worrying about anything else. Emma came to ask if I was going to go to the Adventurers¡¯ Guild to take up some quests but I said no.


    My fatigue was washed away with the rest and today I went to the Guild so I could pick up some quests. Emma apparently left early in the morning to go somewhere. I think it''s better this way. Working alone is the best way to hide my identity.


    I was wearing the clothes for quests I bought with Emma and let the cheap sword hang from my waist for show. I still wore the mantle because I feel more comfortable that way. Plus it also hides my face.


    I need to start earning money as fast as I can. The low-level F-rank quests barely give any money and it''s not really any better for E rank quests. I need to raise my ranks as soon as possible.


    Most of the E and F-rank quests are picking up herbs for Alchemists, helping out in various shops or assisting other people in many ways. It doesn''t take too long to finish most of these quests but they could get a little irritating. I mean herb collecting quests should be very easy with my skill [ Nature''s Beloved ]. I can just grow as much as I want as long as I have a piece.


    Though I have been thinking, can I sell materials from monsters? I mean I can hunt these monsters or animals even if they aren''t for quests and sell the materials to the Guild or different shops. I''m sure that would get me more money than actual F and E rank quests. I mean there are probably higher-ranked quests to hunt monsters and such which I can''t accept right now but who says I need to accept quests to hunt monsters?


    *sighs* I guess I should get to work. I wanna go to the town library at some point so I could do some research.


    I looked at all the E and F-rank quests on the board and as I expected most of them didn''t really pay much. The ones that do pay a somewhat of a satisfactory amount takes longer to finish. I also looked at some of the higher-ranked quests. There was one for a Goblin Extermination in the Demon''s Nest Forest and it was a party quest.


    Oops....well, I can''t say anything about that right now, hopefully, this won''t bring me any trouble later. There were other quests for hunting monsters and animals for various butcher shops, restaurants, weapon Smiths, and Alchemists. Most of these monsters are found all around the town and I''m sure I can take them on pretty easily. I mean if I somehow get ''attacked'' by these monsters I wouldn''t have any choice other than to defend myself.


    I shouldn''t do anything like that on the first day so let''s do the normal quests for a few days first. I picked up an F-ranked quest for herb collecting and went to the receptionist to check out. This time the receptionist wasn''t Mary but a little girl?


    The girl was wearing the same kind of clothing but she looked like a 13-year-old girl. She had a tomboyish face with short black hair. She was looking all around somewhat irritated. I didn''t think much of it and went straight to the Receptionist counter. The small receptionist doesn''t notice me and keeps on looking everywhere as if trying to find something or someone.Did you know this story is from Royal Road?     "Excuse me...." I say but get no answer as if she didn''t hear me at all.


    "*cough**cough* Excuse me?" This time I say it a bit louder trying to catch her attention.


    "WHAT!!?" Hearing my voice the midget snaps back loudly. This one is very rude.


    "I just want to get this quest checked out if you don''t mind." I don''t get mad and calmly put the quest paper on the table.


    "Uh! Right...I''m sorry bout that. These sons of bitches got me pissed off early in the morning. Aight, how can I help you?" The rude receptionist composes herself somewhat and asks in a more tolerable tone.


    "I just want to get this quest checked out if you don''t mind." I point at the quest on the table making her look down. She picks it up and swiftly reads through the content.


    "Oh. Just a herb collecting quest. Nothing major. You can exit through the east side and walk for about an hour and there should be a place is covered in trees. It''s not really a forest, err.....I don''t know what it is. It''s kinda weird like it''s a small area covered in trees and you find a lot of herbs and shit. Also you an F-rank right?"


    "Yeah. Why?"


    "Be careful there, Wood Wolves always roam around that area. If you see one it''s better to run but if you think you can fight it, no one''s gonna stop you. Their Magic Crystals are actually pretty useful, Alchemists all around wants them so you can probably sell them for a good price."


    "Alright. Thanks for the advice." It seems they don''t mind adventurers selling monster materials outside of quests.


    "Oh! Make sure the herbs and plants are in good condition. They are worth more that way. Depending on the amount and quality you can get paid a lot. If you wanna know more information about them you can buy a book from here."


    "Thanks but I''m good. Is that all?"


    "Yeah. That''s about it. You can show the quest paper and your guild card to the guards and they won''t charge you the entrance fee. Also, for herb collecting quests like this, you don''t even need to come to the receptionists to get it checked out. You can just take the quest paper and go straight outside." I completely forgot to ask Emma about the entry fee before. It''s a good thing that I don''t have to pay every time I enter. I would go broke in days.


    "Thanks for telling me."


    "Oh right! I''m Daria. Sorry again for being rude earlier. If you need anything just say so aight?" She apologizes again showing some level of professionalism contrary to my first impression of her.


    "It''s alright. Thanks for your help." I don''t say anything else and exit the Guild.

    With everything prepared I left for my quest destination. Like Daria said it took about an hour to get to the place she was talking about. On my way there, I had been constantly training my mana. My Mp went from 510 to 525. It''s not a big change but it still helps.


    When I arrived in front of the "small area covered in trees" it definitely felt peculiar. Daria said this place was weird and I have to agree with her. There''s a familiar sense of magic surrounding this place. Like I mentioned before I met a druid in my younger days. That time the druid was somehow injured and her magic was leaking everywhere. For some odd reason, I took pity on her and helped her control her magic. As a result, I had been gifted the skill [ Nature''s Beloved ].


    This whole area is covered with a similar kind of magic. I think there may even be a druid nearby. Honestly, a druid can be very helpful to me at the moment. They can move through earth and has the most advanced plant magic. It can help me get rare herbs to make expensive potions for myself or to sell for money. I can even use it to gather information as they can blend in with almost any type of plant. Just thinking about how helpful it can be, makes me feel excited.


    Alright, I should get started on collecting herbs already. If I want to investigate it will definitely take some time.
