《Other World Saint》 Chapter 1 - The Battle with the Weird Puma She wakes up, covered in dirt and sweat. Confusion arises from her face, she isn''t suppose to feel the dirt in the ground and her in-game character isn''t suppose to sweat. She however pushed tjis thoughts out of her mind. She checked her map to see where did the mage brought her because by the looks of it, this isn''t the 30th floor boss room. She is currently in a forest with light green foliage with the ray of the sun peeking at the leaves of the trees. A far cry from the dark and gloomy Forest of Elzerhoth where the labyrinth is located. Western Forest of Larob Hmm? Is... Is this a new location? Since when did the game update? She thought. Because her armor is disguised to be a plain white shirt, she touched her own skin. "It''s, it''s warm!" the kind of warmth that cannot be explained if one is in a Virtual Drive game. Normally, no matter how advanced the coding and the technology of the Drive Gear, it cannot imitate the senses other than the sense of sight and sense of hearing. It can however emulate the sense of touch to some degree but the player will not be able to tell that what he is holding is soft or hard in the game. That''s why she was surprised that she can feel her character''s warmth and softness. "This is... Weird..." She can feel the breathe of the wind, the warmth of the sliver rays of the sun and the hyper realistic ambivalent sounds of the insects making sounds from who knows where in this forest. There are rumors of companies developing Drive Gears that les a person experience this kinds of things but she is 100% clear that hers isn''t. Her Drive Gear isn''t that advance yet. "Hmm... This is interesting in a way but I think I should go to the doctor for today. That headache isn''t a joke... What?! I can''t logout? Where''s the system menu?! Wait? What?! T-that''s my real name!" Name: Chloe Bellrialle Character level: 100 Age:18 Gender: Female Condition: Perfect Race: Order of the High Seraphim Race Level: 10 Class: Saint of the Healing Light Class level: 10 HP: 25,164 MP: 53,734 Status Window (+) Equipment (+) There is suppose to be a little system menu at the top right corner of her vision but for some odd reason, she can''t find it anywhere no matter where she looked. Her username, Yunayuna got replaced by her real life name. She can''t seem to find an answer nomatter how logical she thinks about how the game knows her real name. She didn''t input it anywhere on the game and her payment methods are made through a third party payment system which only shows her card number. She couldnt think of anything that would dgive her name away. Finding no answer that can satisfy her, she gave up and pushed the mystery of how the game knew her real life name into the corner of her mind, for now. Then she noticed that ever familiar wing icon at the bottom left of her vision which means that one can fly in this zone. The only reason she died when the beastial demons chased her is that the zone in which the labyrinth is located is a no-fly zone. Inherent to the race or a magic item, a player cannot fly there. She sprouted six golden colored wings that shines with a holy aura. She can move them individually... She can even feel them. You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story. "Ahahaha... Hahahahaha! I must be going mad! There''s no freaking way that these wings, these wings that I have played with can be this realistic! There''s no way! No way...." She slumped unto the ground with a blank face. She can''t log out, she can''t teleport to any of the in-game''s town and she is experiencing this ultra realistic sensations that can only be felt in real life. "Did... Did something really unbelievable just happen? To me?" Chloe has read novels pertaining to transmigration and being summoned to another world. However, she didn''t think that this will happen to her. She didn''t even wish for this! "Well, you know what? Fuck it! I''m gonna figure this out by myself!" she shouted, mainly to give hersef some encouragement. But then, her ears perked up and she sensed something ominous approaching her from the light green foliage besides her. She jumped away from the foliage just in time for the creature to miss her by a hair''s breath. It was a large-green puma looking animal with 3 tails and a horn similar to a unicorn. It growled at her preparing for another pounce. She produced her weapon, a crude looking metal shield and hammer, and lowered her stance. With a clank and the activation of her pssive skill [Iron Skin], Chloe almost didn''t feel the impact. She looked again at the puma-looking thing at the top of her shield and she saw that it has wounds over it''s body, most likely the effect of the [Iron Skin] skill which reflects 50% of the damage to the attacker. The puma-looking thing is three times the size of a regular puma. In other words, it was huge! But for some odd reason, it''s pounce is like a light tap at her shield. "Maybe it''s because of my defensive values?" she said while looking vigilant at the puma-looking thing. For a support class, her defensive stats is nothing to scoff at, in fact, it was one of her highest stat. So Clhoe was half convinced that this was the case. While she was contemplating that, the puma-looking thing fired a green a laser-like projectile from it''s mouth directly at her. She was quite startled but her shield deflected it like someone just threw a piece of paper at her and again, she found it curious. "I was pretty sure that laser beam thingy is pretty powerful- woah! That was close!" she said as she raised her shield just in time to block the green colored puma in attacking her neck. "I guess i''ll try attacking now," she said as she pointed her hammer at the weird puma. "Take this!" She launched the normal attack of her class, a lightning strike. This is to measure her attack power for she has never encountered this creature in the game. The green colore puma tried to dodge it but it was too fast and it got electrocuted. "Eh? What?" she uttered. Chloe couldn''t believe that her normal attack could one hit the weird puma. Maybe it''s a low level monster? She carelessly approached it, thinking that it''s dead but at the moment where she couldn''t put up her shield, the green colored puma attacked her neck. "Ahhh!! No... Eh?" the puma is bitting her but it''s fangs is an inch away from her neck. But then she remembered. "Ahh... This armor is supposed to be a full body plate armor." she bid goodbye to the green puma in her heart as she hit the side of the green puma with her hammer. It clearly wasn''t expecting that Chloe would hit hard. The vody of the green puma flew a few meters away only to hit a tree with such a force that she could clearly hear the cracking sounds of its bones. This time, the green puma breath its last. Just like in the game, she touched it and it automatically send the monster''s loot in her inventory. This time though, something is different. "[Corpse of Berexhalii] hmm? In all my years plying that game, I haven''t even heard of this monster. It''s time to face the impossile and laughable fact," she said with a sigh. "I''m not in the game word anymore." The fact that I can smell and taste the dirt, the softness and warmth of my body or rather my character''s body and the fact that the corpse of that weird puma isn¡¯t dismantled when it was put in my inventory proves that this isn¡¯t Elluneniel''s Trial anymore. The reality that was slapping her now was that she is now in a world different from Earth based on the fauna around her and this weird puma. Though the thing that is shocking to her is that the game''s mechanics is still at play. She is 100% sure that she can do all of the things that her character can do in the game, meaning she can fly and use her plethora of skills. "Meaning... I can heal people and... And even revive the dead...?" She shoock her head at the thought. Maybe that''ll be a good thing? She thought. ------------------------------------------------------ Chapter 2 - Monsters Three carriages are rushing along the flat plains near the forest of Larob. The said are carriage are laden with golden and exquisite decorations that it was impossible fro a commoner to mistake it for just a carriage. That and the three carriages are guarded by men in shinning silver armors with metallic shields on their backs and swords of cold steel on their hip. They are the visage of strength and honor of the king that they serve, they are the knights. But the shine of their sword and their armor is nowhere to be seen now, for their blade is covered in blood and their armor similarly is covered with blood and reeks of sweat. "Damn these traitorous fools!!" The large man wielding two long swords and a buckler shield at his left hand screamed at his enemies. "Oooaaaah!!" he shouted to quell something that is taking root deep within his heart. 50 knights have been assigned to guard the transportation of the princess to the Imperial Capital of Arlenhardth. The princessis suppose to participate in the succesion rights in the capital so they took off from their city, the City of Nelavre. This was suppose to be an easy trip as the road that leads to the capital are well maintained. It was suppose to be. If only Gerall knew that the shadow of death is looming over them the moment they left the city, he would have gathered more men or perhaps to convice the princess that it wasn''t the time to go. But thinking about it now produced no merits. Out of the 50 knights that the Duke of Nelavre has dispatched, 38 of them have turned out to be traitors that stabbed them in the back, literally. Receiving such attack could''ve spelt the end to the 12 remaining knights and the princess if not for the man''s quick and decisive commands. Proving that he is worthy of the title that he has been bestowed with, the Thunderstorm Commander, Gerall. With the loud, proud and strategic commands of Gerall, they managed to defend the princess who jumped out of the carriage with her handmaidens to the central formation of her remaining 12 loyal knights. But Gerall''s dance with the God of Death is just starting. With the sound of a large horn howling across the plains that is their battle field, bandits with red bandanas ran towards them like a beast. While fending off attacks, they retreated to the unexplored forest of Larod where Disaster and Calamity class monstrosities are iad to roam. But alas, even with such a powerful commander leading them, they cannot hope to win against the overwhelming numbers of the traitors and bandits. His forces were now down to five. They have wounds all over and at this point even if they survive this battle, the blood that is gushing from their wounds would take them eventually. "Damn... It..." said the last standing knight as she protects the princess at his back that has an arrow sticking out of her shoulders. All of his loyal knights have been stabbed and killed due to the sheer numbers of their sneering enemies, even the handmaidens have been killed with arrows stickcing out of their bodies. One knight charged at him, he parried his blow but in exchange he got stabbed by a rusted sword at his sides and an arrow pierced his left shoulder followed by a downward swing of a the knight he just paried. However, the knight couldn''t finish the downward slash which he pt all his mght into for his head has been cleaned off by the brandish of the sword of Gerall. I''m sorry princess, this is as far as I go. Gerall said in his heart, hoping that by some chance of miracle that it was conveyed to the princess. For his body won''t listen to him anymore, his bones creaked, his muscles ached and the fatigue has caught up to him. Not missing this moment, the bandits rushed towards Gerall and beheaded him where he stand. The princess that saw the head of Gerall flew from his body cried shriek and drowned in agony as he saw the face of Gerall in his last moments filled with regrets and grief. Now that the last of her knights are dead, the princess is now defenseless. If you come across this story on Amazon, it''s taken without permission from the author. Report it. "Hey boss, can we have a round with her, she''s gonna die anyway, atleast grant her the feeling of heaven right guys." said one of the bandits with a face full of vulgarity followed by cheers of his fellow bandits which ade the princess tremble. "We do not have enough time! Or do you want the duke to eradicate you?!" said the knight while pointing his iron sword at the bandits. "Jeez you''re no fun at all. Alright alright..." He then walked over to the petrified princess and cut her head off swiftly. They may have been traitors in this mission that they were given but deep down they are still knights. Because of this mission, their honor and prestige have been damaged but they cannot disobey the commands of their lord for that is their oath. Not letting her get violated and granting her a swift death was the last mercy that he can give to the princess. With the heads of the commander and the pincess in the bag hel by one of the knights, the group of knights and bandits dispersed. ---------------------------- It has been four days since she was summoned to this unknown place. She kept walking but not without direction, for she got the map that all players havewhich keeps her on track of where she have gone and a an item she bougth at the Marketplace, Lost Island Fairy, an item that releases a fairy which guides the player to the nereast exit point of the forest. The Marketplace is an in-game shop where players can sell items to other players without them ever needing to make a contactwith each other. The fact that the Marketplace is still working for her surprises her a lot but for some odd reason, she can''t register an item to sell, even those iitems that are originally from the game like potions and weapons. Because again, for some odd reason, she can''t seethe chatfunction nor her friends list or her email folder. She can use the internet on tfhe in-game browser but she can''t post anything on any site. It''s like something is preventing her to contact others. That''s why she is thinking of posting an item and rebranding it as a message but that proved to be in vain. And of course, during the four days the she has travelled, she met creatures of different forms and sizes thatare unlike anything to the monsters in the game. She met her all time favorite puma again and again, she met a monsters named Great Brahagghi, a vine colored anaconda which spans a whopping 15 meters in lenght. She of course bravely tried to outrun and escape from but that snake''s speed is nothing to scoff and it caught up to her a mere moments later. The snake surrounded her and tred to squeeze her but in sheer disgust and desperation, she fired [Aurora Borealis] at the head of the snake which instantly ended it''s life. I mean sure, [Aurora Borealis] is one of my most powerful offensive spells but it felt like that snake should''ve more vitality... Right? And these past 4 days, she has been exploring ways on how to fight and memorizing the names and abilities of the monsters that she encounters. And of course she cntnue o figure out which game function is still working. She had encountered many jungle animals that kind of resembles animals on her original world but has an attribute which is significantly different from her world''s conterpart and almost all of them uses strange and powerful magic-like techniques. Like the telekinetic rock throwing of blue colored ants the size of bulldogs, the poisonous breath of an armadillo-like creature with iron plates and the acid spits of the monkeys form high above the trees, said monkeys looks normal but has a three tail. And she defeated all of this creatures eaither by instantly casting [Aurora Borealis] or by her normal lightning imbued attacks. Except for the monkeys, cause one, she couldnt hit them and two they were extremely annoying so she just escaped away from them. During her fourth day, however, her perspective changed. She thought that she can take care of all the enemies that comes after her. For near the border, she saw something that she knows she couldn''t defeat. It was a long blue ethereal dragon, the kind that looks like an eastern dragon. Its shinning blue eyes stared right at her, its scales shines an azure glow and it''s long ethereal body resembles a majestic looking ghost which exudes a gentle yet mysterious aura. Her only fighting experience was on the game and with the monsters. She was never a soldier or someone that has a real life fighting experience in her real life but she has an itching feeling, a feeling thatis close to a intuition that is telling her, practically screaming at her, that she cannot defeat the creature in front of her. Perhaps this is the first time that she has ever felt fear since coming to this world, her body didn''t listen to her and she just stood there paralyzed and sweating like a pig. Chloe and the dragon just stared eachother down for waht seems like a century to her. Finally, the dragon begin to move bt ccontrary to her expectations, it just gave her another glance and went back to where it came from. "....what? What just happened? She finally let herself collapse on the floor of the forest. "What was that thing anyway? And good thing this clothes never get sweaty even though my sweat flows like a river. It absorbs yet doesn''t get wet..." said Chloe as she mumbles about her clothes. Seemingly trying a way to distract her mind away from that encounter. While also implanting on her mind that there is always something or someone stronger than her. With the faint disappearance of the Lost Island Fairy, Chloe knew that she was gonna be out of the forest. And with her first foot out of the forest and into the clearing, what she saw was a tragedy. ----------------------------------------- Chapter 3 - Chloe "[Sunshine]!" she said as she calmly walk towards the group of monsters. [Sunshine] is an Angel race unique skill. It creates a mini sun above the caster that shines brighly. Within the spell''s raidus, it causes continuous burn damage to enemies while providing regeneration for allies and increase healing proficiency for the caster. What makes this a remarkable skill is that the sun can be passed so that it shines above an ally instead. The bright and burning rays of the artificial sun that is floating above her causes the two groups of monsters to back off. There, she saw clearly what made her slightly panic. What she found in what looks like the plains are... corpses, human corpses that is being eaten and fought for by 4 red wolves and 10 of these grotesque muscled black baby with a head of a dog wielding a spear crying incoherent words that is a mix of low growls and high pitched screams. The monster that got burned backed off but one of the aggressive wolf ignored the searing pain of the sun and lunged straight at Chloe''s neck only to be burned to a rather fragrant piece of meat because the closer an enemy is to the sun, the more burn damage it inflicts. Seeng this, maybe because they are intelligent, the grotesque dog heads ran on all four back to the forest. The wolves however, did not. The largest wolf of the tree gave a loud bark which gave all three of the wolves a red and dangerous aura. In perfect sync, all three of them attacked Chloe. One on her left flank, one on her right and dthe biggest wol is straight up heading towards her like a bold released from a crossbow. One might be overwhelmed by the attack of the wolves, but not her. For the past 4 days, she had been attacked by these creatures for more than 9 times now. So she knew how they work together and and attack. In addition she knew that these guys would not even put a dent in her armor so even if she let them bite her, she knew that it wouldn''t be able to damage her, let alone kill her. Though one couldn''t beblamed for her rmor is disguised by a remodelling tool to look like a simple yet fashionable teen wear. "I''ll place these guys on the level 25 while the alpha wolf is 30-ish I guess." "I have a more... pressing matters to attend to," she said quietly as she looks at the headless corpse of a woman who is now missing her left arm and leg. "So I won''t have time to practice with you." Chloe materialized her disguised hammer and shield just like in the game. She smashed the head of the alpha wolf that is followed by three consecutive lightning strikes from the skies towards the body of the alpha whom died immediately however the two wolves seized this opportunity and simultaneously bit her from both sides. But the fangs of the wolves didn''t even reach the soft skin of Chloe and it was like protected by a barrier around her body. She smashed the back of the wolf which was again followed by three lightning strikes and bashed the third one with her shield. The bashed wolf was thrown for quite a distance and with a yelping cry of pain, it quickly ran off to who knows where. "Now that that''s over, what do we have here..." she said as she touched the the neck of the male headless corpse. "They''ve been dead for 3-4 days and they didn''t die from an animal or rather a monster attack, the stabs and the clean cut of this beheading can only be done by a bladed weapon." There are three females and five males with each dying of blood loss inflicted by a bladed weapon. But... there are some parts here that doesn''t belong to these corpses, they may have been eaten by the monsters already. Hmm.. only the lady with the blue bloodied dress seem to have died from the beheading. All of the corpses have bite marks and some are missing their body parts. I guess the monsters that tried to eat these corpses were attacked as there have been clear signs of a monster battles happening here. I''m so glad that I have an appropriate experience when it comes to these types of things. She thought to herself. Unlike most gamers in her generation, Chloe is a functional member of society and that her job is actually something that one could look up to, she''s a medical doctor. Although this is a crime scene where a person would vomit the moment they saw this, she was looking at these corpses differently. She was looking at them like they''re just a specimen. Chloe did feel pity for them but it''s not enough to move her heart. "Now let''s see if this will work." She has been playing Elluneniell''s Trials for about 15 years so she has basically memorize all of her spells and that of the other classes. So even without the spell icon or the guides that is suppose to be on the bottom of her vision, she can still cast all of her spells. Chloe also discovered that she can cast spells by either invoking its name or just saying it in her mind with an intent to cast it. She then wears her Veil of Anonimity which gives the effect of [Invisibility III] and also gives a -20% aggro to the user. The reason she didn''t wear this when she was in the forest is because she wanted to test what she can do. "I''m about to do the what others think is only the work of god... here goes, [Ressurection of the Host]!" [Ressurection of the Host] is the highest tier of resurrection spell that she can cast. It can ressurect any friendly units with full MP and HP within its wide radius. Of course there are other lower tier ressurection spell at her disposal but for the sake of the success rate of her experiment, she has to use this spell for it only has a long cast time as its drawback. After the 60 seconds cast time, a huge magical circle appeared below and above the corpses just like in the game but this time, Chloe ended up being stunned due to the beauty of the spell because this has the beauty of realism that the game can''t even compare to. The light intensifies and she can see that the body parts that is missing is being restored to its previous state. The bones grews anew, the flesh that intertwines to form an arm shape and the skin that covered it all, even the hairs on their body got restored to their original form. The beheaded lady slowly and grotesquely grows her head back, same with the armored man besides her. After the spell''s duration, all of the corpses are restored and all of the strewn human flesh and limbs became motes of light. She touched the neck of the man nearest to her and... OH MY GOD! He-he''s breathing! They''re all breathing!! She said to herself, suppressing the urge to scream out loud. If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. Chloe just performed the greatest miracle that can only be attributed to a god- The resurrection of the dead. But she isn¡¯t gonna leave, not yet. For all she knows, they all might be biologically alive but without the cocncept of a will. Unlike her world, magic exist here, she has been using it isnce day one and the fact that her consciousness is here proves this undeniably. So going by that statement, the concept of the soul might exist here and according to various religious writings, the soul goes to heaven or hell, goes back a god and be reincarnated again or maybe something else, she isn''t really well versed on religious writings so she doesn''t have a full grasp on the concept of the soul. She patiently waited while being wary of the surroundings and then at about 15 miinutes, one of the armored men grunted while getting up. Hmm? Did he became a zombie? She thought. He moved his body like a morning person wakes up. He stretched his arms and then suddenly stops... blinks and then let out a horrifying scream as he reached for something on his waist. Watching from a short distance, Chloe now understood that this group fought someone or something. She can understand the severe trauma it caused the man. The loud scream woke up everyone and soon all of them sat up. The armored men frantically panicked while the ladies are either crying uncontrollably or are just staring into space. The most notable of the jungle group however is the 2 in the middle. The blue dress lady is touching her head, crying softly and incoherently speakng words that no one but herself can understand. While the man with the most impressive body stands up, looks at everyone, sheds a single tear and looks up while saying "Forgive me, I will not fail this time..." That man is the definition of cool. I am so glad that I resurrected you! She said to hersel while ogling at the man. She would have ogled the man but it ask in a strong voice if everyone is alright. Calmng down the soldiers that are in a fury and the weeping ladies. "Gerall... It seems like my voice and my... My magan is back..." the former beheaded lady said while crying a river of tears. The man named Gerall didn''t say anything but just knelt on one knee and said "This proves that the gods have not abandoned you... have not abandoned us! Please Princess, stop crying for it will ruin yor face and this joyous occasion." Uhh... Your welcome? Well, I guess since I hid myself from everyone''s view. This is only normal. It looks like I was right, though I''m basing this on my world''s history on aristocrats, associating myself with them is a bad thing and can come with many troubles ahead. Unless I''m forced to or it is needed then I will never show myself to this guy. Chloe thought. Garall then surveys his surroundings and his eyes almost popped out of its socket. There he saw the corpse of the giant aplha wolf. It''s too late even if you notice it now. Chloe remarks in her mind. "Princess, this is bad. We need to get out of-" Then they heard the low growls of the dog heads coming from the forest. When they turned tail and run, they numbered about seven but now one by one they carefully surround the group. Chloe however, steps aside as she has no intention to help. This is the reason why she didn''t put the corpses of the two wolves in her inventory, to attract monsters. "Shit Kobolds! there''s too many of these fuckers!" screamed Gerall as he looked for something. "Damn it! They must''ve took our swords! Protect the princess at all cost! We conquered death bofore we can conquer it again!" "Ooooh!!" screamed the knights as they form a circle with the princess and the ladies as the center. I wonder if I should have bought them cheap iron swords? O-oh! That looks like a spell froming ather hands! As Chloe was watching intently how that battle will unfold, the Kobolds attack with their cride spears and claws. Most of the knight''s armors are damage so they are directing the attacks of the Kobold to the undamaged parts. Even without swords and shields, the knights are still able to deflect the attacks of the 20 or so kobolds by throwing kicks and punches once they are in reach. And after almost a minute of chanting, a lightning ball came ot of the princess'' open palms that are facing the Kobolds. The lightnig ball slowly makes its way in the battle field and when a Kobold is finally in range, it zaps every enemy with llightning casing the Kobolds to be paralyze and let the soldiers pummel it to death. She released 3 more of the lightning ball until she collapses on her knees and catching her breath terribly. But they didn''t need to be wary anymore for the 4 remaining Kobolds decided to run away after seeing their allies die. "Princess!" shouted the the lady wearing a torn up maid outfit. "You should not have pushed youself Princess, those are only Kobolds." said Gerall while continuing to scan his surroundings. "But... your armors are broken..." the princess said then took a breath in. " And we don''t even have any weapons..." "But e-even so we could''ve-" "That''s enough Sir Gerall, let the Princess rest for now." Then the group secured thick branches of trees to use as a club while keeping wary of the surroundings. Chloe however, learned a lot during that encounter. First one is that the phenomenon called magic exists in here, second is that she is able to understand the language that is being spoken by these people and the third is... they are far weaker than she could have hoped for. The 20 dog heads, or Kobolds, are theeasiest prey for her as she can crush them even from just her grip. Their only notable ability is that they can work efficiently in a group but even that is eclipsed by the coordination of the acid-spitting monkeys. She had hope that even without swords, they can overrun them by their sheer strength but it looks like they had a hard time beating what Chloe considered the a small fry. Maybe this is a side effect of her resurrection of them but she quickly dismissed the thought because all of them looks to be at a proper shape. Humans complains too much when the situation isn''t favorable for them. They complained about not having a sword but never complained about being weary or tired. They let the princess rest for 5 minutes and they went straight towards the plains. She kept tailing them because she desperately needs information but other than that, its because she still needs to observe them for there might be an unexpected occurances due to the side effect of the resurrection skill. Furthermore, her experimentations isn''t even done yet. She has not yet attained her second goal in bringing her back to life and the reason why she left those monster corpses out into the open. Her second objective was to know if a resurrected person can be ressurected again. She knows that the effect of her skills are the same as before but what if there was a limit. If there is indeed a limit, what would dthose limitations be and how she can adapt or circumvent to it will be a matter of life and death in an emergency situation. She has a passive skill which is always on that lets her be resurrected with 60% HP and MP but what if that didn''t work and she dies permanently? That''s why she needs to know more about this. But she placed a limit on herself, that she would not directly kill them for her research purpose for she feels that if she does this out of her selfish reason, she would stop being ''human''. Though she would kill those who try to harm her or take her life. Such is the act of self defense. She observes them from a respectable distance and quietly takes note. There doesn''t seem to be any stamina deficiency or anyoservable changes in their health. They are as healthy as can be. She watched them carry the wolf and Kobold corpses, set up camp and butcher those monster corpses. She then notices thatin place of it''s heart was a tiny orb which one of the maids pocketed. After listening to their idle chatter, confirming that there are at least no observable side effects of their ressurection and also obtaining a little information on the towns nearby, she decided to leave and head for the town of Bhenratre. The opposite direction of the group''s destination. Who they are, where they go and how will they end up doesn''t matter to her, they have done their purpose in her life. She wishes them well in their journey to wherever they''ll be going but that''s the extent of her care. She did not resurrect them out of sheer goodwill or the need to act like a hero, she resurrected them because she needs an experimental Guinea pigs and in the end, that''s what they are, nothing more, nothing less. She only cares about herself unless she feels a need to care about others. She is selfish and she knows that yet doesn''t plan to change it either for that is who she really is. This is Chloe. Chapter 4 - Screams Due to the information that she got from the people that she have ''helped'' she reached the town called Bhenratre. According to her conjectures based on the patched up stories of the knights this city is 3-4 days of horse travel away from the Forest of Larob where she came from. There was no need to walk or to call her mount to get there. Chloe would now like to try to fly to the skies and see how far and how long she can stay in the sky. There wasn''t a fatigue system on the game and one could fly as long as the area allows it. Not taking off her cloak, she spread then spreads her wings, her big, golden wings that will likely bring awe and wonder to whoever stare upon it and took off. With just a flap of her six wings, she became airborne. This is why humans always look up to the sky and dreamed of conquering it. This is what motivated the Wright Brothers to engineer a flying machine. This... ahh... I feel so free! She thought as she flew to the skies at the elevation where those on the ground can''t see her, flying way above the birds, though Chloe was still flying at the trophosphere and she can tell that she was flying at an altitude that was a bit higher than commercial airplanes. She did wonder how the hell is she not grasping for air and falling unconscious but she remembers that she isn''t even human anymore so she just attributed it to one of the perks of being an angel. After all, an angel do belong in the skies above. Form atop the clouds, she can see the lay of the lands. The air that is free of man made pollution, large and thriving forest, expansive plains and the majority of roads are only dirt roads suggest that these lands are still undeveloped and she drew a conjecture that this is world may be in an era simlar to the middle ages. Of course she may be wrong and that this place may have an isolationist policies and that''s why development have not reached this lands. Then as she was flying at break neck speeds, experimenting on flying techniques and generally doing stupid stuffs on air she noticed a speck on the ground. Desending a good distance while still being hard to see due to the light of the sun and the cover of the clouds, she silently observes the ''specks''. Said specks were humans on horseback chasing a rather large carriage. The carriage seems to realize that it can''t escape the said humans on horseback. The horseback guys are all clothed in brown and dirty rags that covered their entire body with only their eyes being exposed. They''re probably the baddies here if one looks at it from a distance without context, Chloe thought. The baddies are facing off an armed guards of the carriage. Five of them are wearing what seems to be a leather armor and only one are wearing a heavy metal armor. 2 of them are armed with a bow and arrow, 3 are armed with swords and a buckler shield and the metal armor guy is wielding a large swords. The metal armor guy looks like he''s having a rough time but Chloe could not really blame him for they were being surrounded by 40 bandits. The battle started with a large shout from the metal armor guy, they put up a brave front in order to defend whoever it is that they are guarding- not. For the moment they saw the disadvantageous situation, the metal guy shouted for retreat, pushed the guy that was driving the carriage on the road, destroyed the parts of the carriage that is holding the carriage and ran off with the horses of his supposed employer along with his merry men who are already riding their own horses. Even though the band of the metal guy have their own horses, he probably stole the horse on the carriage to sacrifice the owner and the contents of the carriage itself. The baddies didn''t give chase to the merry band of the metal guy, riding towards the horizon like the M*rlboro cowboys. Instead they redirected their attention to the carriage and the man that has fallen over. Chloe can''t see the face of the man but she can tell that he was desparately begging for his life butthe baddies beinnnnng the baddies, stab his sword on the throat of the man. They then took out something from the carriage that piqued the interest of Chloe. With the clear thought of the benefits and the things that she will gain, she descended like a meteorite. I guess I''ll play the hero part. ----------------------------------------------- As he put an end to the slaver''s life by his rusty sword, the man proceeded to loot the belongings of the now dead merchant as he look at him with scorn. He doesn''t know if it is just him but he despises scum like slave traders. Though he says this, he admits in his heart that by the end of the day, he and the slave trader is the same, for he walks the thorny path of a raider. As he grabbed the bag full of coins, he noticed that the other raiders are making a fuss at the cage. Fueled by curiosity he takes a look and what hesaw there are two girls roughly the age of 14 or 15 and a man that seems to be in his 45. They don''t probably care about the elderly, what they are ogling are the two pair of beauties. Even though they are still just little girls in his mind, his colleagues, who are deprived of woman, are practically drooling. Unless they launch a raid on a village somewhere, they will never have a taste of a woman''s body. "Hey, we worked so hard so it''s okay right?" said the man, wearing the most perverted face on this land. "Sure but be prepared to face the boss." I said nonchalantly. All faces turned pale upon mentioning the boss. Who could blame them? Knowing that most of the would like to die before angering ther boss because a fate worse than death awaits them. But then she appeared, wearing an outfit that accentuates her legs and ass and a pure white t-shirt that one could that it was high quality. "Hello." she waived at us with an angelic smile. No one of us can react to the beauty that suddenly appeared. This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it. She has a noble and unique appearance. A face that gives a gentle yet strong willed. Hair that is long, silky and as dark as a moonless sky. A sexy body with the right proportions and a skin so pure and white that even he wants to touch her. "Bye." she said that with a smile but I saw it, even for just a moment, I saw it. A smile devoid of any emotion. She''s looking at us like we''re just trash. Before they can even comprehend what she meant by those words, she produced a metal hammer the size of a regular club and a round metal shield that just barely covers her torso. It looks like a weapon for a beginner, one could even argue that some of the beginner''s weapons are better looking than her weapon. But then it begun, the six guys who are right infront of her, the ones who charged at her without a second thought got turned into minced meat by a sideward swing. Their lower halves got separated to their upper halves by the sheer strength of the swing. Normally he would be screaming how a sideward swing easily took down 6 of his men. He jumped away from her in order to command his colleagues better but he was being followed by a lightning strike. "H-how in the world! She used magic!" he screams as his body was hit by the lightning to alert his fellow raiders and fell face flat due to being paralyzed. Magic is a talent that only a few people had and naturally the raiders doesn''t have a single person who can use magic. For if one of them can use it, they wouldn''t be a raider in the first place. They tried to gang up on her and surroound not only to show a force of intimidation but to find an opening for all ofthe raiders knew here that magic users are are weak when it comes to physical combat. But what is egging on the mind of the man lying face down is how can a magic caster beat 6 men simultaneously using physical brutality? The men trying to stab and slash her back only hit what can be called a magic barrier followed by them gettiing injured from where they are suppose to hit her, like their arm or their back. Those who charged at her from the front in order to distract her and make openings to attack her are mercilessly knocked down by the force of her hammer or are being burned by the electrical currents pulsing in her hammer. They couldn''t believe it, those slender arms should have enough strength to pummel the raiders so hard that it was hard to recognize that they have been once a human, now they are nothing more than chuncks of pummeled flesh. The raiders however, didn''t turn tail and run for the prize they see are the weapon that the woman is holding and the woman herself. Greed and lust powered the raiders to overcome her with numbers. After all she is just one woman with no one to back her up, she will surely be tired and eventually ran out of Magan, the power needed by magic users to cast their miracles. This, however, did not come true for not once did her strength wane in swinging the crude hammer, not once did they even put a scratch on her beautiful skin and not once did the lightning stop from killing the raiders one by one. The man realizing that the effects of paralysis have weakened, slowly raised his head and fear crept over his face. He knew that even individually they are strong but to think this woman has the vitality and power to overrun the 40 men strong raiders. He did ask himself, why didn''t they just run for their lives while the other could run and ask for back up from the boss. Surely the boss would want this woman for himself and the weapon bthat she is holdidng can bag us a ton of gold. Are they still blinded by greed and lust? As he is wondering that, one of the men screams and tried to run away but he was quickly struck by a lightning that cam from the sky. He looked at the direction of the woman only to see her pointing her metal weapon to where the lightning struck the man then pointed it again at the other man who is desperately running away. With the flash of the lightning struck, he can see a faint smile on the beautiful face of the woman. She then look at his direction and their eyes met, she flashed a grin and bludgeoned another man stuck withfear and piss on his pant to death with just the look of indifference on her face. The man however realized something fron her grin, her mischievous grin. She can beat them all with one strike if she wanted.... unless- "She is.... toying with us..." the man said as he gulped her own saliva. The 40 man strong raiders group that he was in is now just a handful of people. 2 are in a desperately making a fighting stance with shaking knees holding them up, the five that have ran away have met their deaths by the lightning from above and the three stooges are desperately begging for their lives to be spared in exchange for their service. She however, granted all of them the sweet embrace of death with a look that she was just killing off the bugs in her house. Maybe she didn''t know that I am still alive? I-I can make it out of this alive! He shouted loudly to calm his beating heart. But the steps of the black pair of high heels draws ever closer to his location. She... maybe she''s heading for the carriage. Right she''s heading for the carriage. He desperately tried to calm his mind, one silent breath at a time. Suddenly , the footsteps stopped, right in front of him. He takes a peek only for a hand to touch him and turn him over. She then sat over his stomach kind of like those famous sex position. He opened his eyes wide to see that the beauty is eyeing her like a predator finally catching its prey. In truth it was sexy, in truth it was bewitching but the emotion that surfaced the most was not lust, but fear. He saw in her dark eyes cruelty beyond compare. The cruel nobles eyes'' are angelic compared to hers. She placed her weapon in his chest, he felt the cold and wet blood of his companions even though he was wearing a ragged leather armor. Almost as if it''s his companions souls, begging for help. "I always believe that I''m a good judge of person, won''t you help me prove it?" she grinned at her, like a devil. He tried to reached for the dagger in his hips not to wound her but to kill himself. Because his instinct screams at him that she will do something much more brutal compared to the punishments of the boss. The beauty saw that he was reaching for his weapon but she didn''t stop him, on the contrary she motioned for him to do it with a smirk and a nod. He felt that this was the fastest he has ever used his hands. He slashed his own neck and awaited the sweet embrace of death and then passed out. The last he heard was the sweet giggle of the beauty. But the darkness that was embracing him didn''t last long as he was forced back into the light by something. And what he saw was the same. The beauty sitting on his stomach and a hammer in his chest. He definitely killed himself, he was sure of it but- She grabbed his hair and yanked it up then whispered in his ears. "You cannot escape me. You and all these idiots cannot escape from me. Even from death!" "Ahhh-AHHHHHH!!" He screamed but his sreams of anguish and fear are cut short by the strong electrical current in his chest. As he was being electrocuted, he then asked himself what went wrong? It was suppose to be just another raid. Why did it turn out like this? But he couldn''t come up with any answer, perhaps the gods have punished them for their crimes? He didn''t know the answer nor could he care anymore. He gave up resisting and went to sleep again, hoping that this time the monster in the shape of a human won''t wake him up again. Chapter 5 - The Merchant He was floating in a sea of neither warm nor cold embrace, he can''t describe it, it''s hard to describe it. He can''t feel anything and he doesn''t even know who he is, what he is or where he is now. All he knows is that he must rest here. But that rest is cut short, for he was being sucked in by something. Something warm and light and full of pleasant feeling. He followed it and allowed it to consume him and then he remembers everything. He is Gelro Teggran, a slave and jewel merchant of the proud Tegrran Family. He is heading towards Bhenratre to sell and exchange his wares as well as t keep in touch with the merchants from the other families. But then he got ambushed by people that looks like a raider. But he didn''t even give it a thought knowing that he had hired mercenaries personally recommended by the guild. They look like a strong bunch, especially the leader, so I had no qualms. Add to the fact that they are from the Gold rank guild Bloodsteel. When he was a boy, he too wanted to learn the ways of the sword so he wanted to watch the guards fight valiantly for his sake but that''s not what he got. "Shit they''re too many!" Borbos, the leader shouted. "Hey boss, leave that carriage and run with us." "What are you blabbering about?! You''re a 6th rank mercenary! You should be able to tun things around!" Gelro shouted, unable to believe the words of Borbos. Normally, that''s what they should have done. But this time however, the package would cost him his entire fortune. In the carriage are three high quality slaves and a chest full of jewelries, a literal treasure chest. He could not afford to lose any of those. "Ah fuck it! Suit yourself!" he said as he destroyed the parts of the carriage that connects to the horses and ran off with them, leaving the defenseless Gelro behind. The moment they caught up to the shocked Gelro, he tried to beg for his life but the raider mercilessly killed him off by putting a sword in his throat. He should not have cheaped out on the guards.... He should have asked the Platinum or even the Orichalhum guild for guards. Though heh said that, the light in his eyes vanished as he accepted his demise. He knew he should have been dead. Gelro knew that but what awakened him was a very beautiful lady. She was gently shaking him and urging him to wake up. "Sir! Please wake up! Please!" She wakes him up with upturned eyes and a worried look on her face. "Am... am I in heaven...?" Gelro subconsciously asked to which the beautiful lady only replied with a soft giggle that soothes his worried heart for a short while. "I''m glad, if you can talk like that then that means the you are alright." she said with a perfect grin on her face. "What happened? I was stabbed right?" he asked while checking his throat and being surprised that not even a scratch remains. "I''ll gladly answer, for you see when they stabbed you, the Arlrog Nightwolves must''ve smelt your blood and cause them to attack." she said as she pointed to the corpse of a large red wolf. The Arlrog Nightwolves are an apex predator of the jungle west from where they stand. They are skilled in launching surprise atacks, incredily fast, have a good sense of smell capable of tracking down their prey and with power to booth. They can also use magic to strengthen themselves. With these combined, no wonder the raiders are wiped out. But one thing doesn''t sit right- "Then who killed these wolves?" he asked. "The raiders put up a greater fight than expected because of the one that is lying down over there, he gave commands like a veteran war commmander and even if he is a raider, I praise his skills in combat. It was a great fight but the Nightwolves prevailed with only 1 heavily wounded wolf standing and that''s where I saw the situation. I finished off the wolf and saw you wounded but miraculously alive. I used the medicine that I have so that I can mend your wounds sir." she told her with a clear conviction. "So that''s how it is... I think I can understand Borbos'' reason now. But I still can''t forgive him." he said as he clenched his fist tightly. If not for the young lady, he would have died right now. And it is clearly stated in the contract that he and their guild have signed that he would, under any circumstances, protect him and his wares. Since Borbos and his gang ran away an deliberately cause him harm, they would pay him a hefty fine and expel Borbos and his men for violating a contract. "Borbos? Who''s that?" she tilted her head in an adorable way. "S-so cute..." he said under his breath. "Oh ah, that''s the mercenary that I hired who should have protected me rather than you, young lady.. He took a deep breath and fixed his clothes annd stance. "This one is Gelro Teggran. As I am indebted to the young lady, may I ask for your name?" he asked. The moment he said that was the time when he sharpened all his senses to see the reaction of his adversary, the young lady in front of him. She may have been the one to save him this time, but what will happen to him next. He''s still not out of danger, this is the Nightwolves Prairie where monsters roam free. This isn''t his usual path to Bhenratre but because the raiders have chased them too far from the main road where it''s relatively safe because of the human traffic, he has no choice but to rope this young lady in his travel and hope that he will guard her. She is young and beautiful but she also has this air around her that he is too familiar with. It usually comes with being young, it''s naivety. She still has the air of naivety around her. Gelro is truly greatful for her help and he may be saying this in his heart again and again but he is truly beautiful to the point that he wanted to take her as his second wife. But his survivability comes first. If she really survived here without outside help and isn''t just stupidly lucky, then she must have the strength to protect herself for this prairie does not let those who are weak get away. "Please sir, no need to be so formal to this one, I am called Chloe Bellrialle. It''s a pleasure to help." she then flashed a sweet and innocent smile towards the man which tugged on his heartstrings a little bit. No, I must stay focused. I am terribly sorry to do this to a young lady but... please just take this as a lesson.. The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement. "We of the mercantile house of Teggran always pay our debts so please, name it. If it is in my power to give then so be it." Now is the crucial time for negotiations, if she asks for anything in particular he will just say that that is excessive but he will grant it in exchange for taking him back to Bhenratre. Of course without a contract, which they can only get from a guild, all will just be verbal promises. Please learn from this young lady. "Really? Then I want those two slaves in exchange for the elixir that I use on you." she said with an innocent smile plastered on her face. "What?! These slaves? B-but young lady, these slaves are nothing but a canon fodder. Look at them, the two are naught but young ladies even younger than you and the other is just an old man. I can give you gold and jewels instead if you like." he said. Gelro can''t really say that he did not expected the young lady to ask for the three slaves. But he figured that she would rather ask for some gold, jewels or even magic items. Wait, did she say... an elixir?! "I beg your pardon my lady but surely you would not expect me to believe that you would use an expensive item such as an elixir on a stranger?" said Gelro as he could not believe what he just heard. An elixir is an unbelievably rare item that not even a big merchant house like him could get nowadays. Rumor has it that an elixir is a cure all, heal all type of medicine. It can regenerate lost limbs and it can dispel even demonic curses. That''s why elixirs can even be considered as national treasures. For her to even have it is unthinkable and for her to use it on a stranger is just mad. Gelro couldn''t even think of a price for such a treasure. "Elixir? Surely you jest..." he said as he tried to hide his surprise. But he opened his eyes wide when he produced two gorgeous bottles with an intricate and sophisticated design that has a golden glowing liquid inside of it. If this isn''t the elixir of legends then he doesn''t know what is. "T-that... can''t be..." "Surely the knowledgeable merchant of the Teggran family knows that this is an elixir, right?" her air of naivety, for just a slight instance, vanished and into its place is that of a terrifying schemer. Gelro''s back is then covered in sweat as he tries to widdle his way out of this but he can''t take his eyes off of the golden vial that Chloe is waving around. He breath a deep breath and adjusted his position. He then went to the broken carriage and grab the box that was hidden in its compartment. He didn''t even look at the three slaves that the young lady wants. "Here is a box of gold and jewels that I have procured. Please accept this as a token of my deep gratitude." he then bowed. "But these slaves already has an owner and they have already been bought. I understand the price of that elixir but-" "You want another one of this? Here you go." Chloe said as she handed her a vial of the elixir. He didn''t even need to examine the contents of the vial for even he can feel the amount of magic power inside the vial. But then she made another remark that made him smile like a devil inside. "Master said that I can use this anyway I want so this is probably okay." she said non chalantly. "So these three are mine now, right? A great merchant such as yourself will keep his word... Right?" "No need to flatter me, young lady. This one shall keep his word to the dot. I hope that the young lady and I can be acquaintances if not friends so we can help each other out." Gelro said as she reach for the hand of Chloe to which gleefully accepted. Too naive child, you''re too naive. Gelro said as a scheme is forming in his mind. With the remark that she said, she knows someone who can make an elixir and casually give it out to his student. If he can get acquainted with such a person and have a monopoly of selling elixirs, their house can even expand more. Getting the information on making the elixir is also within the realm of possibilities. Forget inheriting only a part of the Teggran house, he can inherit all of it. If all works out he can even trap this naive lady in working for him. I''m thanking you from the bottom of my heart young lady but ignorance is your sin. Consider this your fate. He has no plans to trick the young lady right now as to gain her trust. He beckoned her to come and perform the slaves ceremony. "Now young lady, we both just need to willingly pour our magan into the collar and you just need to confirm what I say." she nodded. "I, Gelro Teggran, willingly wish to pass this property to Chloe Bellrialle. Do you accept?" he said as the finger that is touching the collar of the old man glows red. "I, Chloe Bellrialle, willingly accept these property that is presented to me." and her hand absorbed the red glow which spread into the collar of the old man. They did that with the other two slaves and the ceremony was finished. Truthfully, Gelro wished for her to just nod or say okay and then claim them back some time later, but it cannot be helped that she made a smart move. "With this, these three are now your-" Gelro couldn''t finish what he was saying. He couldn''t for the very air withered and trembled at the sight of the beautiful young lady smiling. But there are no light in her eyes. Only the darkness of a bottomless abyss. He took a step back and without even noticing it, a sword of pure light is stabbed his abdomen. He wanted to scream but couldn''t. He couldn''t even understand the situation. Not even feeling the pain and the blood loss from the sword of light, he desperately tried to run but his legs kept trembling and just takes a step back. He hold out her slender hands and out comes a blue bladed sword that is emitting a golden glow. He hasn''t seen a sword this gorgeous before and even he could tell the absurd amount of power within it. He was so focused on the sword that he failed to notice that Chloe Bellrialle, the young naive lady has now six large pair of golden wings that emits a beautiful and noble aura. Gelro is mesmerized by it but at the same time, fear found its way into his face. "S-step back..." he pleaded. "Step back!" this time a shout finally came out but the lady, with a sword in his hand didn''t stop. "STEP BACK! GET AWAY FROM ME!" this time he gave a powerful warcry. With snot, tears and saliva in his face and a flowing piss in his crotch. For he knows... he knows that the young lady will kill him. The young lady right now is a divine incarnate but he cannot see the light of mercy even in her angelic form right now. He can only see... indifference. "Thank you for the lesson sir, I shall keep it deep within my heart." she said with a mocking smile on her face as she separated the head of Gelro and his body with a slash of her brilliant sword. During the fleeting moment when his head is flying, his head accidentally faced her way only to see Chloe with a thumbs down and a sinister smile full of mockery. Despair finally painted his face and that was the last emotion that he left on his face. He had been calling her naive all the time but he forgot that he too is a naive person. On his final moments, he cursed an cursed and cursed his own fate and finally embraced the darkness that is as dark as his emotion. ---------------------------------------------------------- "Houu... Acting is hard. Now I know why actors are paid more than the medical professionals." she said with a smile while wiping her non-existent sweat on her forehead. "To think that I learned a lot during that conversation. I really am glad to have met that man... And you three, it looks like what you said is true. That man really does think that he''s some sort of a great schemer." she looked at the three kneeling slaves in front of her. "We have no intention of deceiving you from the start... master." said the old man. "You have spared us the shame of serving such a disgusting man." said one of the blond haired girl. "Is the man that you''re suppose to serve that much of a trash?" she asked. "Trash has it''s uses master. That man is the shinning example of a scum." said the other blond with a contorted face. "Well, I''d like to hear more of it but not here. Shall we go?" "Yes, master." all the three of them responded. Leaving nothing, not even the corpses of the raiders and Gelro. The only mark that a massacre took place here was the blood stains and the stench of death. Chapter 6 - To Port! "The nearest city is Bhenratre huhh. Where is the nearest city here that has a sea port?" she asked Salazar, the old man who is the former slave of Gelro Teggran the merchant. "Hmm... Three cities comes to mind. Northwest of here is the City of Almiera of the Hanzelburo Kingdom. It is one of the oldest and most prominent cities of the kingdom. It''s ruling lord is wise so the economy is stable. It is currently enjoying its peace time. Two of its largest trade partners are the Principality of Nerulyo and the Free City of Jakalsas. The Port City of Tritos and the Shield City of Yruma also has an excellent port. Both cities belong to the Iranliya Empire. The port city is considered the gateway of the empire to the sea and it is directly administered by the emperor so peace and order is well mentained and it has a large trade partners. But if we want to get there fast then the City of Yruma is the way to go. Its ports pale in comparison to the other two cities but being a military nation, it is the safest of the two. It has a long stalemate war against the nation bordering its eastern side." Salazar said with a voice that contains knowledge and wisdom appropriate for his age. "Thank you Salazar." said Chloe. Earlier when they were finding a suitable spot to set up her ''tent'' she told them that she didn''t know anything about this world and to tell her all that they know, from general knowledge to how society works. Though the twins had some of their knowledge to share such as the Iives of the commoners in the village and in the city and how the village and the city traded but it pales in comparison to the knowledge provided by Salazar. She got the gist of how things work in this world in the short amount of time that they''ve been walking and talking. She was currently hearing the opinions of the three in the ''tent'' that she bought from the Marketplace. Said tent was a metal dome that looked like an igloo. It is a bit smaller than an igloo and one has to crawl in order to get in. But on the inside, it is approximately a 50 square meter in width and 10 meters in length. This is how she slept inside the forest where monsters attack more frequently during the night. It has a barrier that can withstand a direct attack of a Berexhalii and alerts its tenants when the barrier is about to break. Since she had been living in there for the past week, she had naturally furnished it with a sofa, a bed, a dining table and even a comfort room. The comfort room is only for cosmetics back in the game, a player can''t even open it. But in this world, the bathroom is fully functional and it even includes a bathtub. The toilet is one of those super high tech toilets in Japan, this is probably because the creator of this game is a Japanese company. Come to think of it, they wouldn''t know how to operate those, right? I''ll just instruct them when the time comes, she thought. "Being near here, Yruma is disqualified." she said while sipping on a cup of oolong tea. The said tea were prepared by Deena, one of the two blond sister. Incidentally, the two girls were adamant on being given a role other than being an informant to her so she taught them how to make tea which the girls quickly learned how to do or rather, they forced themselves to learn quickly. Is it me or are they afraid of me? Anyway, the reason for the disqualification of Yruma is because of its near proximity to the City of Bhenratre. She killed a prominent member of the Merchant''s Union so there was a high chance that a search party will be formed looking for Gelro. Once they fail in that, they will look for his wares since the one who bought them seems to be an influencial lord of a certain region. Even though she acts so full of herself when it comes to her enemies, this is usually the result of her evaluation on the strengths of her enemy. She exorcises a great caution when fighting an enemy that she knows nothing about. Chloe knows that almost all of her skills are support skills and she knows that a player that can overcome her healing skills can kill her. She knows what her strengths and weaknesses are. That said, she doesn''t know a thing about this world and that she knows that there might be someone like her who stepped in a golden portal and is brought here too. She is definitely not the strongest and she will never assume that she is, for she believes that there are people out there that are more powerful than her. "That leaves us with Tritos and Almiera, what do you think?" she said as she clears her mind from her own thoughts. "If the mistress plans to start a guild, Almiera is a great place to start. The Foothills of Miarinnha and the Forest of Slumber is a great place for rookie hunters. But as a result, the quality of hunters there are poor. This is because when they have trained well enough, they move on to other places. Tritos on the other hand is full of experienced hunters and mercenaries. The ruins of the Forsaken Temple provides a lot of monster to train and gather high quality materials, this is not even mentioning the Cave of Ternhal and the forest of Lakoseer. Problem is, mistress, it is full of strong guilds so it is hard to recruit and smaller guilds usually gets harassed and eventually be crushed by the giant guilds." said Iyara, the eldest of the blond sisters. If Deeana is the hands-on type, then she is the studious type. She told me that she can read write and do simple calculations. Salazar and her compliments each other''s information thereby preventing a biased source of information. According to Salazar and Iyara, The Union of the Sellswords isn''t like the adventurers guild that she have read on the internet and is becoming more of a common trope. First is that the Union of the Sellswords is the one that oversees all of the gulds that is established by different individuals. There is at least one building of the Union at every city, clients can post request or job orders there where it would then be sent out to the guilds that it encompasses. Of course clients can post or make a request directly at a guild but that would cost more but it would mean that only that guild can accept the said request. The guild rankings from the least to the greatest are: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Orichalcum, Vental, Adamantine and Dracoris. The guild''s rank are what determines the tier of request that can be made available to a guild. But a guild can take requests that are 1 step above their rankings. For example, a Bronze rank guild can take a Silver rank request. Doing a number of these types of requests can get the guild promoted. Unauthorized content usage: if you discover this narrative on Amazon, report the violation. "I do not care about recruiting strangers. What I care about is the geography, the culture and the ways of the people, security and the ease of doing and making business. Based on this, Salazar, which of these two hold the advantage over the other?" "A straight answer would be Tritos young lady." "But mistress," Deena called out to the side of Chloe "How would the mistress'' guild get promoted if there is no members to take requests and job orders? " "I don''t care about that too." Chloe said. The reason she will create her own guild is to not get forced to join a guild. According to Salazar, guild leaders sometimes do underhanded means to recruit capable individuals. "If-if that is what the mistress'' will..." replied Deena, while looking at Salazar in hopes to fins a supplementary answer on why her master does not want to recruit people. But Salazar just shrugged his shoulders. "The faster we act, the better our chances to getaway for killing the merchant, " she said. "You guys do know the way to get there right?" Of her three slaves, only Salazar nodded. "Good, then it''s best to depart now and-" "Young lady, the sun is about to set. If we depart now we risk being attacked not just by monsters but also by bandits and raiders. I hope you consider." said Salazar. During their interaction in this short span of time, he noticed that even though his new master listens and thinks thoroughly before executing an action, the young lady still has a tendency to be spontaneous. He painfully knew from experience the consequences of unplanned actions. "No. We''ll leave now. The faster we head off, the better." she said nonchalantly as she got up from her seat and headed outside. "Bu-but, you see young lady, monsters can see well in the darkness. I do not know about the young lady but we three could not even if our path is guided by the moonlight." he said as he tries to block the way of Chloe who still insist on going. As the ''tent'' isn''t that big, she got out and is immediately followed by a worried Salazar and the two girls. She deactivated the ''tent'' which then turned to a small metal ball the size of a tennis ball and stored it back to her inventory. She looked up at the sky and by her own estimate, it was about 5:00 pm and what Salazar told her is logical and should be followed. "Salazar, is there a flock of dangerous monsters that is flying around the skies here?" she asked him while looking up in the sky. She often always ask Salazar first because out of the three, he was the one who has more knowledge. "We are three kingdoms apart from the Haleriya Great Mountains so I doubt that the skies would have dangerous flying monsters such as Wyverns and the Dark Flocks." Salazar stated with a doubtful face almost as if asking her why would she ask these. So dragons such as Wyverns exists here huh... And what are those Dark Flocks? Chloe thought as she prepares for a spell. "[Come, Haizum]!" she said in a loud voice. Seconds later, the three slaves were bewildered for they are hearing a distant but a very powerful neigh of a horse that almost sounds like a thunder of a large incoming storm. As their master Chloe was looking up at the sky with a slight grin on her face, they instinctively look at the direction she was facing. Their mouths flew open as they saw a horse, a pure white flying horse heading towards them. Chloe took a glance at her three slaves and all three of them had their legs shaking with a frightened expression. Well, who could blame them, a horse suddenly showing up would probably scare me too. The horse landed in front of Chloe and neighed softly as the horse presented its head to Chloe to be patted. Head pats is life, head pats is love. Haizum is a horse from Islamic tradition. It is said to be God''s gift to the archangel Gabriel for pleasing Him. He is a white flying horse similar to Pegasus from Greek mythology but with an almost ethereal body and wings that burns with a golden glow. He then takes a look at her inventory to find one of her means of transportation in the game. I hope that the system''s automatic equip is still working, Chloe mumbled. A grand carriage with a black exterior and golden ornaments suddenly appeared and saddled the horse. Great, it still works. She have the carriage because she doesn''t have the mount skill required to ride her horse. There''s a limited number of skill slots so she prioritized support skills and some of the useful attack skills appropriate for her race and class. She looked at the trembling slaves that took a few steps back and said with a proud grin "We''ll be taking to the skies Salazar." "T-to the skies...?" said the dumbfounded old man. Unable to grasp what was happening. "Haaa... Listen, I don''t like repeating what I said, okay? This carriage can fly, do not question me any further. Now put this on as your outfit is an eyesore and will dirty the inside of the carriage." Chloe said as she gives the three of them their intended outfits. "Just knock when you finish changing." she said as she enters the carriage leaving the three alone. She wanted to enter this place and decorate it as soon as possible. As this was a high tier carriage in the game, it''s space is a bit expanded but not obviously so. It can easily hold up to ten people without feeling claustrophobic. She placed a small chandelier at the middle as the ceiling is high enough and some candle lights to illuminate the inside of the carriage. Back in the game, the carriage is always illuminated but this was not so in this strange new place. She placed a table in the center for her drinks and snacks. As she had not neglected her carriage back in the game, it had been well maintained and fully furnished with soft seats and velvet carpets so she didn''t have to do all that much in terms of decorating. She hears a knock at the door signifying that the three have finished changing their clothes. Chloe was a bit thankful for the merchant for being decent enough to make them take baths and take care of their outside appearance. In fact, if not for their rag clothes, they look like they were well of. "Hmm hmm, it suits you well." "Thank you mistress." she said as she bowed and lifted the hems of her skirt gracefully. She ushered them inside and felt a laughter escaping from her mouth. Does the slaves have to gawk at everything I do? She mumbled but Chloe found it quite amusing. The butler clothes really suits Salazar well while the twin maids clothes are a perfect match for the sisters. The three nervously take their seat, the two sitting on the opposite side of the table and prepared the tea of their mistress while Salazar sat besides Chloe, awaiting further orders. "Young lady, May I ask how we will move forward? I-I have an experience in coaching but...." said Salazar as his voice trailed off. "I understand that Haizum scares you three. Worry not for I will be the one that steers him. To Tritos!" she exclaimed as she flicks her hand and the horse responded with a neigh as it moves forward, picking up speed, leaps off and flies. The two sisters held on and screamed for dear life while the old man kept a poker face but is sweating rivers and is gripping tightly the arm of Chloe. But Chloe just ignored them for they''ll get use to it and will eventually settle down. She was instead looking at the moon above because it has once again filled her heart with nostalgia. For the moon is the only thing that reminds her of her home, of the place she once belongs to. Chapter 7 - Salazar Enright "Shit they''re too many!" the guy who seems to be the leader of the mercenaries shouted. "Hey boss, leave that carriage and run with us." He closed his eyes when he heard that, he is not worried about himself but rather to the fate that is awaiting the two young ladies that is bound by the same chains as him. He is old and cannot be sold for labor but the two with him are young and beautiful, moreover his previous master said that they are still pure. His heart ached for the fate of the two as he hears the running of the horses and the delightful shouts of glee by the raiders. He suddenly remembered the days bygone. He is Salazar Enright a steward of the Bhelraion Noble house. He became a servant to the house when he was just 10 years of age. Through hard work and determination he earned the trust and respect of his colleagues and eventually the master of the house which made him to be a proper butler. The master that he served is Renal Galiger Bhelraion, a noble in the Valheiman territory of the Hanzelburo kingdom. He is a wise man that knows not only to govern and manage his land but the compassion to not only rule the people but to lead them to prosperity. He is hard on criminals and the corrupted but fair in treating the commoners. In fact he is highly respected by the people of his land. But this did not last long, the master that he served has suddenly became ill. He was stricken by an unknown disease and left this world without leaving behind a will. Normally this wouldn''t be a problem, yes if this was normal the succession would be on the eldest son. "What are you blabbering about?! You''re a 6th rank mercenary! You should be able to turn things around!" the ear screeching noise that the mercenary was shouting returned him to his senses for a while, but suddenly remembered a scene that was similar to this one, a fight. The eldest son, Enreall Sylvia Bhelraion was born to a commoner woman whom his master has truly loved. He was born with great care and attention, he has inherited both the father''s talent for leadership and his compassion towards the people which cause him to be popular even amongst the city''s crime syndicates. He even reformed the hoodlums that haunt the dark and desolate streets of the Valheiman City but that is another story. Although Lord Renal was faithful to his wife, he was forced to marry another with noble blood as to strengthen the Bhelraion Family. Rullia Sinihara El Fruella the second daughter of the El Fruella household who rules the adjacent territory of Valheiman territory, the Drecana territory. Salazar believed that Rullia has truly loved his master because she was desperate for the attention and love that the Lord Renal was giving his first wife. This has got him into thinking, maybe if he had loved his wives equally then this wouldn''t happen? "Ah fuck it! Suit yourself!" shouted the leader of the mercenaries as he had left the slave merchant with no hope to escape. Escape huhh... Did Lord Enreall really escape? He muttered softly. Rullia gave birth to Rondel El Fruella Bhelraion. The brothers formed a relationship like those of true siblings when they were young but as time marches on, they''ve become more and more separated. Then the the goddess came for Lord Renal and as he had left this world without a will, the younger brother challenged Lord Enreall for the right of succession through a one on one combat which shocked Salazar. Lord Enreall was known for his combat prowess, in fact he can even beat the knight''s captain on a single combat. So Salazar watched the duel proceed hoping that the young master Rondel doesn''t sustain any irreparable injuries and that the two can reconcile the relationship they once had. But the reality that he had been expecting became an illusion as Lord Enreall staggered through this battle. It wasn''t because the young master Rondel is skilled but because the movements of Lord Enreall is... unreal. It almost felt like he was ill. The fight was short and disappointing. It was just like 2 boys swinging their wooden sword but regardless, Lord Rondel won and the young master Enreall gets defeated. After that... after that, Lord Rondel either killed all those loyal to the young master Enreall or sold them to slavery. And this is where I am now. Well... They will just kill an old man like me. What I fear most is what will happen to the two young lady who was rescued from the slums by the young master Enreall. As he look outside the caged carriage, Salazar can see the vulgar eyes of the filthy men ogling the two young ladies. He had accepted that this is gonna be his fate and he cannot do anything anymore, if he struggled, they might toy with them just so they can see his face full of despair. If I had known that this would happen, then perhaps I should have practiced swordplay. But then she came, a young and very beautiful lady with flowing black hair, swinging beautifully to the rhythm of the wind. He wanted to tell her to run but before he can even mutter a single word she charged at them with a force of a storm, a literal storm because she uses lightning magic which is rare. Everyone of them either fall through the swing of her hammer or by the lightning strikes above their heads. It wasn''t even a battle anymore, it was simply an extermination. A massacre. But she didn''t look like she was getting tired nor she was enjoying her enemies suffer. The young lady just plows through them like they are just weeds and she''s the sickle. He then notice something about the actions of the young lady. Her power is greater than the mages back in his territory but why is she not using magic to quickly eliminate the raiders? Salazar immediately answered his own question, she was just toying with them, not out of fun but of boredom. With just a swing of her hammer, she took a out a number of raiders and by using the phenomena called magic, she can indiscriminately bring many of them to death but she just stands there, seemingly observing their actions. But if they were to fight her by means of a sword or a bow, she comes charging like an arrow to kill them where they stand. If they ran away, she''ll deliver death by magic and if they try to beg for their lives, she''ll end them with a downward swing of her hammer. The young lady took her sweet time in slaughtering the raiders till no one was left standing. However, he did notice one of the raider pretending to be dead. Maybe I can tell her that that one is pretending to be dead and- But again, before the words can come out of his mouth, the young lady notice the man and the man committed suicide. Salazar has seen his fair share of people committing suicide. The man must''ve seen something that made him commit suicide and thats it. Dung these tough times, that is a fairly occurring event. However, the lady produced a calming and soothing light unto her palm and touch the raider leader. The next moment the man came alive only to again meet his demise with an agonizing scream. He tensed up, his eyes definitely saw that the man had committed suicide. He looked at the two girls besides her only to see them trembling with fearful eyes because the one who slaughtered the many raiders is walking straight towards them. He isn''t afraid of death, but he is terrified at the eyes of the beautiful murderer, the beautiful yet muddled and dark eyes of this murderer. "T-thank you f-for saving us..." Salazar stumbled for words somthing that had never happened in his life. "T-the Gods have t-truly not abandoned u-us." "Please do calm down," the murderer said with a smile. "I''m not here to hurt any of you, in fact, I came to rescue you three" "R-rescue, is it? But we have no need for a rescue from such a great person as your lady and we have nothing to offer you." Salazar said nervously, forcing out polite words out from his mouth. If you discover this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation. "Sir, please do keep your flattery to yourself. But I do understand why you are on your guard. Rest assured that I will never do you any harm unless you cause me harm or get in my way." she said without even batting an eye. "Leaving that matter aside, based on those tattered clothing and collars on your neck, I would assume that you three are slaves, right?" "Y-yes we are, but why does the young lady ask? Do we perhaps interest you and would want to buy us? Although I speak out of conjectures but if that is indeed the case then that will be impossible." "Hmm? Why is that?" she answered with a nod as if urging Salazar to continue. He was right in the gamble that he took in his mind, it seems that the young lady knows little and this conversation proved this. But how much or rather how little does she know? "Because we need the seal from the buyer, the merchant had already given it to the buyer and-" "Alright, stop right there." The lady stopped him. Sweat trickled down at the back of his neck and he can see the two girls are also looking at him dubiously. "I guess this is just within the realm of my expectations," the lady paused and looked at him with sharp eyes "Old man, I do not like being deceived." "GAAHH!!" He screamed in pain because a sword made of pure light had pierced his stomach. The girls ran over to him only to see that there wasn''t a trace of damage in the body of Salazar. Confused, they looked at her again from beyond the cage that they are in, she was neither angry nor happy. Only a look devoid of emotions. "Please do forgive me but I really do not like being lied to when I am being honest," she said then 10 blades made of light appeared at her back, the very same sword that has impaled him. "[Radiant Swords]. I do not really wish to harm you but be careful on your words next time for all of this will strike not only you but also the two besides you. I will ask again, why is it impossible?" He was aiming to trick her into letting them back to town. He have heard that the man that have bought them was a despicable and cunning man. Salazar thinks that he will use his knowledge on the Bhelraion Family to cause further harm. But seeing the lady with a murderous aura, the man seems to be a better choice. But now, she leaves no room for negotiations or compromises. She had impaled her with a powerful spell that has no chant which should have been impossible for any magic users. "I-it really is impossible now," he said as he struggled to get back up on his feet. "his authority is needed for him to pass us, his Slaves, to you... This is the truth." "Hmm. It doesn''t look like you''re lying," she said as the swords of light vanished into thin air "So if I wake up that merchant then it''s possible?" "Wake up? But isn''t he dead?" asked Iyara, the eldest of the twins. Though the two of them looked alike with their brown eyes and blond hair, what sets them apart is their height as Iyara is slightly more taller and more mature looking of the two. "Dead? I do wonder about that." she said as she produced a calming and soothing white light at the palm of her hands. The girls were mezmerized by it but Salazar knew better, for it was the same light that he saw when she resurrected the raider. Questions and doubt filled his head as the young lady walked over to the corpse of the merchant that has a gaping hole in its neck. "Oh and a reminder, you best be silent when I''m dealing with him." she smiled and showed them a ferocious smile, "W-wait! Please wait!" implored Salazar. "What?" "C-can you really do it?" "Can I do what? You need to be specific about things, sir." she smiled in return to his nervous and frightened face. "Can you really revive that man?" he said in a serious tone. "Wether I can succeed in reviving him or not is none of your concern but seeing as you are now honestly speaking your mind and without the fear and distrust that you have shown me, then yes, I can revive this man." she said like reviving a dead man is just as easy as taking a walk in a park. "And you... You healed me earlier as well right?" "Yes? For I''m the one that caused it and I still need you." So she really did heal me? Perhaps she is the famous saint that the Church of Celesrica have. She is rummoed to be a very beautiful person and can heal any wounds. But... her behavior and the way she is now doesn''t resemble a saint from the text. But maybe... Maybe she can do it? He once again remembered the tattered looks of his former lord. He did hear from a house servant that he got away from the clutches of his younger brother but his state was so horrendous that it is easy for even a child to kill his former lord. Salazar was loyal to House Bhelraion but he knows that deep in his heart, his loyalty to lord Renal is greater than the House of Bhelraion itself. As a matter of fact, he feels that he cannot show the same loyalty that he displayed for his no deceased Lord. But because of a certain promise he- "Though I am only guessing here, but information is what you need from me and these girls just happen to be here, am I right?" he deeply bowed his head with the grace belonging to the former servant of the House of Bhelraion. He took a glance to the young lady and he saw him stopped in her tracks and is looking at him expectantly with a smile. He knows his value isn''t that of a fighter and much more than that of a well trained servant but of an informant. He was so well informed of the matter regarding both the inside and outside structures of the House of Bhelraion and it''s surrounding nobles that it could very well be developed as a weapon. He knows that some of the information that he hold might cause the downfall of his house but he doesn''t care anymore for he has been thrown out. He just wanted to fulfill the request of his former Master and that is- "In exchange for my loyalty I would like to request for the young lady to heal the wounds and dispel the curse that haunts the son of my former lord. That is the only thing that I ask." he said while still bowing his head. "I like your resolution but I cannot make a promise. I can heal the wounds but what if I could not take care of the supposed curse that is in him?" she said. "I do not and will not hold on to any absolutes therefor I would like to avoid making a promise. But I will a tend to him if the chance arises." "At least give me a promise that you will heal him when we do come across the young man." he said. She made a thinking gesture before answering and- "Fine, I promise to heal him when we do cross each other''s path." "That is all I need to hear. Then please do tell me your name, young lady." "Chloe Belleriall." "Then I, Salazar Enright, am your servant Master Chloe." he stood up and looked at the two girls. "Master, let me be clear that I only speak for myself and do not have the authority or say in the decision of these two." He would like to fulfill a part of the promise that he had made into his former lord and that is to take care of his son Enreall. Although his loyalty has diminished, he would have like to devote himself until he die to Enreall''s service, he had no choice but to implore to the mercy of the lady in front of him as the action that he can take is only this one. He will just have to find a way so that Chloe can meet Enreall and treat his injuries. He had not seen a light more pure and holy than the light that Chloe is producing and he has no doubt that Chloe can heal any types of wounds and curses. But he cannot speak for the two young ladies in the cage besides him. They all knew each other for they have once been in the employ of the same noble house. But they didn''t form any relationships during those times and barely knew each other. It was his decision alone to follow Chloe, he couldn''t bring the twins into their talk. They could choose their freedom but doing that will.. "Please let us serve Lady Belleriall. We ask nothing in return but food in our bellies and a roof above our head." Iyara as she lowered her body to the ground to do a deep bow that is similar to groveling. Her sister, Deen, followed through without a moment''s delay. She walked quickly in front of the cage, requested that they lift up their head before finally agreeing to take her in. Salazar would have checked to see if the young lady has the appropriate assets to take them all in but with that kind of ability, he is certain that money will be the least of her problems. Chloe, after finishing her talk with the twins, walked dover to the corpse of the slaver. Salazar was bewildered and could not hide his surprise when she pulled out a number of Nightwolves from a blue glowing thing in the air and scattered the corpses in all direction. Where did these Nightwolves came from? What magic did she use just now? He might never know but he just focused on what is happening and listen well. He was thankful that unlike his eyes, his ears are still good. Then he heard the voice of the slaver and how the honey-like voice of his master kept deceiving the slaver. At first he thought that she will just torture him to no end until he breaks and gives them up. But listening to the conversation, he can tell that Chloe is assessing him. She is playing the innocent and naive girl in front of the slaver and bait him with the existence of an Elixir, something that the slaver could not ignore no matter what. He fell for the bait, transferred us then she proceeded to murder him by shooting a sword made from pure light. For he understand that his master have no choice. With the existence of an Elixir he would never leave him alone and come up with various ways to use and manipulate her. Furthermore she posses the ability to heal, the magic that the nobles and churches are in monopoly off. He would have ignored it if she simply kills him. He didn''t mind if she tortured him. But... she showed him or rather to them her 6 radiant golden wings. The twins stood stock still but he... he experienced a sense of comfort and relief that washed over him like a flood and this terrified him. The duality of his experience upon knowing that the master that she will be serving isn''t a human but something greater or maybe far more worst. She did make a promise with him and going by that logic, her new master Chloe seems like she can be reasoned with. She murdered all of the raiders in cold blood and without even batting an eye and murdered the slaver but that''s only normal in this world and in fact happening almost every season. She had deceived him and based on what she said, she had actually learned a lot from her simple exchange with the slaver. Salazar looked at the splendor of her wings but at the base of her feet, he saw the grass that is wildly growing and a single beautiful red flower grew. Chapter 8 - Unions and Guilds Because they are flying at speeds that is impossible for a horse drawn carriage without jeopardizing their comfort inside, they arrived after a day without any problems. The only stop that they took was when she noticed that one of the twins, Deena, is barely holding on. After taking care of her business, Haizum just continued on showing no signs of fatigue nor hunger. They ate what Chloe has been eating since she was transferred here, the in-game food bought from the Marketplace. In the game, the appearance are just for cosmetics and to differentiate them from one another but that has become real in this world. The three slaves couldn''t stop praising it even though it was just a regular English meal. They have arrived and could see a well maintained highway, bustling with people and carriages coming in and out of the city wall of Tritos. She could also see the vast ocean in its western border. But that said, they choose to land in a place devoid of people. Even though this is a world of magic, the existence of a flying vehicle has never been seen before. Though artisans and magic users had made many attempts to make a flying carriage or something similar that could carry multiple items to the relative safety of the skies, nobody has yet to succeed. And of course it was a no brainer move to show it to the masses as it could invite more trouble than necessary. Still, even though Chloe had made Haizum took on a relatively normal form by concealing his wings and making his body appear more like a normal horse, he was still big even for a war horse and the carriage was still luxurious so they would still attract some attention. She didn''t mind it though, sooner or later she was bound to step into the limelight. Knowing from Salazar that her powers are perhaps even greater than the saint of the Church of Celesrica and the Church of Briggan, the two most influencial religions in this continent. "Come over here for a bit." Chloe said to Salazar as he was heading to exit the carriage. It would be weird if their carriage is moving without a coachman to guide it. "I know it''s a bit too late to ask this but, how old are you now?" "I am at my prime age of 63." he said with a confused look at his face. "Really now, then kneel down," she said with a smile. Not questioning their master is what a slave should do but with all her surprises, Salazar couldn''t help but wonder. Light gathered at her and she was once again wreathed in holy light. "I do not know if this will work but I will now reverse your age." "R-reverse my wha-?" He couldn''t even finish his sentence. What he just heard was just absurd that his mind stopped working for a bit and just before he could form a coherent thought, soothing light poured from his forehead down to his body. He can feel every pain caused by old age is disappearing like an accumulated fatigue from a good massage. "Oho, it''s working properly." Chloe said with a wide grin on her face. But Salazar could not find any words as his body returns to its youthful state. He just knelt there with eyes wide open and a mouth that can''t seem to decide any words. "Okay that''s enough." Chloe said as she forcefully pulled her hand off of the forehead of Salazar now looks like a 20 year old man. "It seems my theory on rejuvenating the cells to produce something akin to a youth induction works perfectly. In case you''re wondering, that was my skill, [Rejuvenation]" [Rejuvenation] is a skill that gradually restores HP over time, same as [Regeneration]. But after coming here, she noticed that her skills now have some effects that are not listed in the skill description. Though both the skills still restores HP, for some reason [Rejuvenation] and some of her other healing skills do not restore lost limbs but apparently skills like [Regeneration], [Light of Restoration] and her skills that have a name that means or is similar to regeneration will restore missing limbs and even heads. That''s why she thought that maybe [Rejuvenation] will have an effect like this. Salazar, now free of the hand of her master looks at his hands with a shocked and trembling body. He knew that her master''s powers are beyond his comprehension for he has never seen anything like her, and the wings on her back are only spoken of in legends. But for her to do something like this... "What... What happened to my body...?!" He checked his face, his neck, his back and everything else on his body. No matter how much he checked, his body is now free of wrinkles, no matter how many times he felt and touched, his body is now that of a 20 year old. He felt lighter, all of his body aches disappeared and he felt the strength that father time has robbed him has returned. "A satisfactory result?" Chloe giggled looking at the now young Salazar. Salazar looked at Chloe who returned to her seat and is now elegantly sipping the tea that she has prepared because the twins just stood there with mouths hanging wide open. The twins, who are new to the Bhelraion house has never seen a young Salazar. Even though he is a steward directly under the order of the previous head of the house, he never had a painting or any illustration for it was expensive and Salazar wasn''t interested in immortalizing his younger self. "Maybe you''d like to look at your younger self?" asked her master while staring into empty space which she always does when producing items out of thin air. Unbeknownst to them is that she is simply looking at the item catalog. They tried to question her about it but she just ordered them to never question how she keeps producing her in-game items. She handed him a mirror the size of a closed laptop. "But better hurry, I do not want to arrive there at night." Chloe had already confirmed that this world''s day consists of 24 hours just like on Earth. Although the blaring sun indicates that it is about 2:00 pm, it will take them about an hour on a regular horse speed to get to Tritos and another hour on lining up on queue. Salazar did mention that it is highly likely that they will get mistaken for nobles and they will just let them pass through without falling in line and proving their identity. Salazar looked at the mirror that doesn''t have any impurities. His first thought was that how expensive this must be. He looked at his face, his 20 year old face and a single tear dropped on his face. He knew that it was just a matter of time before old age will take him and just a few days ago, a sword was about to take it. He had lived a good life and was ready to face death with a smile on his face. But he could not say that he has no regrets. Perhaps magic is impossible for him but had he trained in the ways of the sword, then maybe he could have helped Enreall and his wounds would have been so much lighter. Had he trained in the arts of apothecaries then maybe he could have saved the late Lord Renal from his sudden sickness. Although he had no regrets in studying how to manage the domain of his lord, these what if''s are constantly looming over the recesses of his mind. He was not sure if he fears her great power or is grateful for it and unable to speak any words. He bowed his head deeply while tears and snot covered his now handsome face. Although his hair is still gray and have become long and his nails looks like it belonged to a bird monster. He is still Salazar and could feel that nothing has influenced his heart. Well, something did seep into his heart and that is the feeling of gratituity for his new master for giving him a second chance at life. He did not know how she did it or what kind of magic that was but from the bottom of his heart, his gratitude for her was already overflowing. She instructed the twins to groom the young Salazar with a pair of scissors they have found in the stash of the merchant Gelro. Salazar did what he suggested and hold the reins of Haizum. Haizum would never follow his command but they did this for appearance sake then they made a beeline to the City of Tritos. ----------------------------------------------- About an hour, they finally arrived. The towering walls of the city looms imposingly over all who stands before the gates. Chloe was quite impressed when she saw it in the distance but she is now awed by the magnificence of a building constructed not by heavy machinery but by the hands of men. "My lady, we shall proceed as planned. Please allow me to do the talking." Salazar said to her. So it''s ''my lady'' now? Chloe thought as they keep on changing how they address her. She nodded and gave him a gold qual from the stash of the merchant. Qual is the currency of the Iranliya Empire. Incidentally the total loot that Chloe got from the merchant was of course the three slaves, 224 gold quals, 3,598 silver quals, 2,654 bronze quals and ten intricately decorated precious jewels. Merchants, hunters, mercenaries and those that belong to the commoners all stop to look at her carriage. "Look at my carriage peasants! Mwahaha!" Hmm? Why are the twins looking at me like I''m an idiot for saying that? "A carriage that grand without a single guard?" said a farmer talking to the mercenary besides him. "Heh, must''ve been lucky it didn''t run into somethin''" replied the mercenary. "Do you think a noble is inside?" said a mother holding a child. "Maybe it''s the princess!" screamed the child with gleeful eyes. She couldn''t see the people who are saying those but for some reason, she can clearly hear them. Though even when she shouts or sing very loudly inside the carriage, with the exception of the coachman on the front, none of the people outside can hear her. She didn''t understand how this carriage work as the game hasn''t bothered explaining it. "That''s quite the commotion outside." Chloe said as she chews on some cookie. "That cannot be helped mistress," replied Iyara "As your carriage is too eye catching to be from just any noble or merchant." What can''t be helped can''t be helped I guess. It''s too much of a hassle to buy another carriage and it would only serve to freak out the three slaves more than they used to. She''ll just take into account the popularity that she got from this event. "Greetings and welcome to our fair city of Tritos. We are terribly sorry but we have to do an inspection on our esteemed guess and also your intention and identification please." said the guard who''s armor is comparatively better than those around him. "I am Berias, the Guard Captain, I hope that we can match up to the expectations of our esteemed guess." He said as puts a fist in his chest as a sign of salute. Salazar had told her that in ordinary circumstances, carriages like these are often told to go without even checking them. She raised an eyebrow indicating her curiosity. I''ll investigate later. "My lady is an understanding master so please do your job and feel free to check us. Oh and this is from my lady Belleriall," said Salazar as he handed him the gold coin which he instinctively reached. For a moment Berias'' eyes went wide but before he can even speak, Salazar continued, "Let me be clear that this is not a bribe, you see our Lady was almost assaulted by a band of thieves. If not for the heroic guards that came to her rescue, she would have met a fate worse than death." Salazar said with a remorseful face and a tearful eye. Oooh, I didn''t know Salazar is a good actor. "I-I see... But... " "Please, just accept it. My Lady would be honored if you gentlemen buy yourselves a drink and toast in her name." Salazar quickly cut him off. Not accepting a refusal. "But©`" he stuttered but a guard who had overheard the conversation flashed a wide grin and a thumbs up. "....fine, we''ll gladly accept your lady''s gratitude." he said with a sigh, hanging his head while rubbing his temples and dwhispering ''idiots'' under his breath. "What is the lady''s name so that we know who we may toast to? Please do forgive me for not knowing." asked the guard while looking at the dark exterior of the carriage. The author''s narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. "My lady''s name is Chloe Belleriall." Salazar responded. "And who might you gentleman be? For I must know who is the humble servant of your lady." "I do apologize but this one is only a slave by my lady." he replied as he shows the thin collar at his neck. "I-I see, please forgive me." said Berias with a bow. The treatment of the slaves in this world is akin to an inanimate objects, they have no rights and even have no names unless their master names them. Salazar and the twins, Deena and Iyara are quite fortunate for having quite an ignorant master for she address them based on their real names. If she ever denounce their names, they have no choice but to give up on their real names forever, that is the power of the collar that they are wearing, that is what it means to be a slave. But Chloe does have plans to change Salazar''s name. After that, he ordered his subordinate to check the carriage albeit the said subordinate only checked lightly, he didn''t even open the carriage. Though no one could blame the guard for the half-assed inspection because nobles are fond of execution, and the longer they kept them at the gates, the more likely it is that heads would be sent flying. Literally. "Just one more question before we let you through, what would the lady''s business be to our fine city?" asked Berias. "My lady''s main business would be to establish a business here and to obtain a citizenship." replied Salazar with a serious look in his face. "Tell your master that I''ll be rooting for her. Thank you for you consideration. And once again welcome to our fine City of Tritos." he said while saluting by thumping his fist into his chest. Salazar thanks the guard and we go on our way. She had a back up plan in case the guard really checked for identification. She plans to show the seal of Teggran that he got from the merchant. Thankfully, she didn''t have to use it. "Now then, to the Merchants Union!" Salazar is familiar with the city of Tritos for he had been here many times already. But Haizum wouldn''t listen to any of his commands so he had to tell me which directions to go and I would then mentally command Haizum to go towards that direction. It didn''t take long for us to reach the Merchants Union Building as it is in the Town Plaza. Next to it is a branch of the Union of the Sellswords which we plan to go next. The exterior of the Merchants Union''s building is very similar to that of the architectural design of a large germanic style building. We entered the building and in the nth time Chloe was again awed. Floating lights and people with swords and wands are all too stimulating for Chloe who was once a fan of high fantasy novels. As Chloe doesn''t have time to be awed like a country girl visiting the city for the first time, they hurried up in line. After about 20 minutes of waiting, the two of them, Salazar and Chloe now stood at the wooden front desk. Incidentally, the twins have been left at the carriage. "Good afternoon dear costumers, I''m Glavea and I will be your receptionist today. What business do you have with us?" said the receptionist while Givin a business smile. "We would like to buy a plot of land and a citizenship." Chloe said. As Salazar explained to her, if one wishes to migrate, one must be willing to pay the price of a citizenship. Of course there are no such fee from the natives but for a foreigner, the price can be downright outrageous. Though there are temporary recidency which could only last for 10 days, they were looking for a base to settle down so a temporary recidency which are much much cheaper, was out of the question. The cost of a citizenship varies from city to city but they are generally too expensive for a commoner to afford. Because of its relatively high quality of life and security, the price of a citizenship in Tritos is 70 gold quals. Considering that 1 gold qual can be enough for a commoner to live for 2 months without working for a single day. It''s the kind of money that will never be touched by the common people. Incidentally, 100 bronze quals makes 1 silver qual but it would take 1,000 silver quals to make a single gold qual. This is why the guards seemed very elated because with the one gold that they have given away, even if they drink all night, there would still be some left over change for them to take home. "Citizenship here on Tritos is 70 Gold Qual. Dear costumer, would you like pay in©`" "I''ll pay in full." Chloe said, grabbing a bunch of gold coins from her pocket. Though in reality she is getting the coins in her inventory because item bags or storing items in a different dimension does not exist yet and would be more than trouble if she were to be found out. Salazar said that there is a very big possibility that she will be used as a pack mule if a noble or a big merchant finds out about her storing capabilities. She doesn''t really like hiding her abilities but if that what keeps troublesome matters at bay and give her an upper hand in certain situations then she''ll just have to hide it even when it causes her discomfort. For just a split second, the eyes of the receptionist grew wide but quickly put on the facade of a cool headed business woman "Then we''ll gratefully accept. I received 70 gold quals," Glavea said as she finishes counting them. "Now for your other matter. On what purpose will you use the land that you will be buying? I am sorry but knowing the purpose of the future land owner is one of the requirements for purchasing a real estate in Tritos." the receptionist bowed her head as she apologizes to Chloe. "Please raise you head, if that is one of the procedures then we simply just need to follow. Charles, explain to her what we will do with the land." Chloe said then took a step back as Charles, or rather Salazar, faces the receptionist. Because some of the people here in Tritos knows of Salazar Enright, the steward of the Bhelraions, she decided to change it to Charles. Salazar, or going by the name that he is going to use from now on, Charles had already accepted that this is his second life and easily accepted the name that Chloe had given him. "I am Charles, a humble servant of my lady Chloe Belleriall. A pleasure to be doing business with you on this fine day." said Charles as he gave a bow befitting a former servant of the house of Bhelraion. "Oh no, the pleasure is all on us." said the receptionist. "Now on to the main business as I don''t want my lady to stand too long and for the line to get longer," Charles said as he takes a look at the line forming behind him. "We will use the land for a construction of a brand new guild which my lady plans to establish in the near future." The receptionist Glavea, for a quick second, flashed a wide grin but quickly returned to her business smile. How did she became the receptionist of this large firm if she always lets her emotion show like that? Though one would have to have a good eyes, a knowledge on psychology or be really experienced to see her ruse. Chloe thought to herself, quietly observing their interaction. "Then please follow me to a private room so that you can finish both your citizenship and the procedures of buying a land." Glavea said while beckoning a free receptionist to take her place. They are taken to a room on the second floor of the building. She was told that this room is used for costumers that have private transactions. After just taking a glance at the rather crude paper in front of her, she can immediately understand what is written there. Needless to say she was shocked but she couldn''t afford to let it show on her face. The game has an automatic translator so that must be why I can read it but the text didn''t transform into that of the Roman alphabet, it is still the lexicon of this world. So how was I able to read it? I''ll investigate it later. It''s basically just a name, age, occupation and wether or not she can perform magic. So it''s fairly easy to finish. Incidentally she wrote that she can use magic but didn''t specify. Apparently, Charles said that some magic users prefer to keep what kind of magic they can use a secret. "So about the land that you will be buying, may I know what is your preferred location and how big do you want it to be?" asks Glavea "May we ask for your recommendation? As you already know, my Master plans to start a guild so it has to be a rather large plot of land and as we are a first time visitor in this city, we do not have a good grasp on the lay of the land here." Charles said. She then took out a map of the city. "It is required for the every guild bases to be built inside either the Area of the Commons or the Nobles domain. Here are the locations that I personally recommend that fits your given criteria." "Limit it to only the Area of the Commons. The Nobles domain might be too expensive for us." Chloe chimed in. "Let''s see..." Glavea said as she jots down those locations that fits the description. "There is an available plots of land in the commons area but it is too small to fit a building that is gonna be a guild base." I do not plan on recruiting members and if the land is really too small I could just build higher or underground for that matter, I do have the tools to make this happen and this has been what I''m planning to do at the very beginning... "But I do have a plot of land that is available," Glavea said snapping Chloe at her train of thoughts. "However, it is within the domain of the Nobles but please do listen to me first. This land is situated right at the boundary of the Nobles and the commons area therefor its price is considered a great bargain." Glavea explained while pointing at the map. Though I can''t really measure how big the land is without knowing how accurate this map. "And the asking price for that land is...?" "It is only 135 Gold and 750 Silver Qual. A cheap price isn''t it? Shall we conduct an excursion to see the land. I think that you should hurry and buy this land or else someone might get a hold of it first." I looked at Salazar or rather, Charles, but his expression is stiff. Maybe the price is too high? No, that is not it. The price is too low. Charles told me that there is a wall that divides the commons area and the nobles area. Even if the land is near the commons area, it still should be within the wall. He even added that the security in the nobles area are worlds apart when compared to the commons area. This is the first time that I talked to a local that is not being tortured or are not my slaves and even I could tell that something is definitely fishy in this deal. Fine. You wanna play? Bring it. "Okay, I''ll purchase it." "Mast-?!" Charles tried to protest but Chloe stopped him. "Wonderful, please sign here and here. And this is the terms and condition of purchasing the land." "You sure do work fast." "Thank you very much Madam, we have been trained to do this over and over so it is only appropriate that I sell this land as quickly as possible so that the Union may profit from this transaction." Glavea said as she dons the perfect smile of a business woman. Heh. Bring it. Whatever happens, happens I guess? I''ll just use this as a lesson if I lose here. Though Chloe has confidence in herself to adapt and plan out any situation. There are still things that she has no control and there are a multitude of ways that this could end very badly for her. She lost a big sum of her ''pocket money'' and the said lost is way beyond a commoners reach even if they work from infancy to old age. She knows it''s value that is why she is determined to overcome whatever the catch is to this land. After paying the 135 gold and 750 silver qual, she left with her citizenship documents and the land title neatly stored in her Inventory. "Young lady, there is a large possibility that there is some sort of trap in place." said Charles. "There is, in the ownership title, they clearly stated that construction of the building must start during the first week that it is claimed or risk a heavy fine weekly. If failure to comply with the said request within 30 days, the property can be reclaimed by the Union." Chloe explained while walking to their next destination which is conveniently just across the street. "But- Ah! They plan to sabotage us! My lady please consider refunding!" "It''s fine, it''s fine. Plus if I refund now, we must pay 50 gold quals and as you have noticed, we only have 13 gold quals left. If I do sell the jewels that we got from the merchant, I think they''ll lower its value as much as possible so there isn''t a way for us but to go forward. Though I must say that the way they do things is so brazen. It''s difficult to think that someone will fall for this." "They are probably targeting rich young nobles who set out on a journey. The young lady does have the look of a rich noble." "Still, if it was me I''d put more effort into it. Maybe I''ll do things in a roundabout way that makes it seem like both parties are gaining something. Ah, were here." The building of the Union of the Sellswords is as big as the Merchants Union but lacks class and design. It was probably built with cost efficiency and practicality in mind. Maybe it houses warriors so they do not need to make it gaudy. The interior is just as plain as the exterior design. Everything is within the realm of practicality and the word boring perfectly describes it. "Salutations traveler, how may I be of service to you?" said the guy receptionist. She was honestly expecting that this building would be overflowing with people but the reality was a bit different. There are barely any people at all. This is probably because they are at their own guilds. Charles said that the only ones who visits the guild are those that are posting a request, those that have a business with the Union and those that doesn''t belong to any guild, the guildless. "I''m here to establish a guild." All eyes went on Chloe for saying that. There are six large guilds in the City of Tritos. Making it almost impossible for a start up guild to survive. The people in this building had never seen her before, that is why the receptionist called her a traveller, which will make it even harder for her to recruit people that would join her guild. She could even here some mocking sneering. "Ah I-I''m sorry, I didn''t hear you. Can you please state your business here again." "I. Am. Here. To. Establish. A. Guild. Is that clear enough for you?" "Haaaa.... Okay, okay. Then it''s 10 gold quals and 50 silver quals for the processing fee." the receptionist said unenthusiastically. How rude, this is the perfect time to be a Karen and ask for the manager. She handed over the coins and in exchange, a document that she needs to fill up. It contains the preferred name for our guild, the name of the guild master as well the members. Since there are no members and I don''t plan on recruiting yet, this just leaves the name of the guild. Should I use the previous names of my guild back in the game? "Hey Salaz- ehem, Charles, what are the names of the guilds here?" "The three guilds in the Nobles domain are The Golden Helm, Poliriyals Guild and the Swords of Ghelstat. The one in the Commons area are the Shields of Tritos, Hammer of Tritos and Dragon Fell." "Where do they get their names? Is the name of the guild a big deal?" "For most yes, because it is used as their symbols or their achievements. For example, The Golden Helm only accepts Gold rank hunters and mercenaries. While the guilds like Poliriyals guild is based on the noble that is backing them and the Swords of Ghelstat is based on a heroic mercenary. But often times, the names of the guild is just the surnames or the names of the guild master." "Putting my name as the name of my guild is boorish at best and narcissistic at worst. I''m gonna go with Rosenheim." Rosenheim is the name of her guild of which she is the sole member. After completing the sign up procedures, he was handed over a crystal that is gonna be used to update a quest and to register members, including herself. Chloe was 100% anticipating some form of trouble at the guild but her expectations have been proven wrong. This is because if one hunter or mercenary is caught instigating a fight, he or she can lose his/her membership and they will also drag the names of their own guild to the mud. So almost all of the guild members are well behaved and informed of the rules, regulations and etiquettes of being a decent human being. That said, there are still a few who disregard those rules but those individuals are few and far in between. With her business done, she head over to the location of the land that she bought just a while ago where she will perform one of the most ridiculous thing in this world have ever seen but is just a normal thing back in the game.
