    I stared at the screen for a few seconds till I saw the remarks, I felt blood levels rising as i realised that the system was calling me a bitch. I also wondered why I had zero luck points. Did it mean i wasnt luck or that I had a normal amount of luck? Well whatever it meant will be found out later if this system is real.

    I walked through my door then went and layded down on my bed. I was fast asleep.

    I got out of bed and shook off my sleep with some stretching. I then called into work to left them know that im taking a sick day. After that I went over to my small kitchen. I craked some eggs then scrambled them. Once the eggs were done and plated I got a new screen to popup.

    Guess the remarks are still the same but hey I see improvment. I went to shower off and change clothes but once I went into the locker room I saw 4 guys were fighting eachother. "Hey what the hell guys!?"


    I walked over to see that they weren''t all out fighting but more like fighting for training. One of the men looked over to me and started to speak untill he got punched across the face. The one guy trying to speak hit the other guy back then yelled "Stop you idoits! We now have company!"


    The whole group turned to me and just stared "Fine then I''ll start what are guys doing?"


    The guy who threw the sucker punch spoke up "Were training the unarmed combat levels. We fight for ten minutes then take 20 to heal up."


    I understood somewhat but just had to ask one more thing "Yeah but why in the locker room?"


    One of the other two guys spoke up "It kinda just happened to be honest with you."


    "Alright well you guys have fun over there just dont hit me please."

    They resumed fighting while I washed up and changed. Once I walked out I summoned the timer again

    I went over to a general goods store and bought a handcrank flash light, some wood, nails, screws, chains, and a fire axe. After that I went to a known weapon shop. Once I walked through the door the owner looked up and grumbled to me "I aint gonna sell you a gun because some huge prank is making everyone waste their time."


    "Damn thats a shame. Do you have knives, swords, or any other type of fighting weapon?"


    "I got a shit ton of knives and a few swords not much else. Make a quick look around then get out cause it seems you alreadly spent your money on building supplies."


    "Nah man I still got cash but it is a little tight after that shopping trip. Where are your swords?"


    "They are hanging on a wall all the way down that aisle" He pointed to the left of himsef and down to a well lit corner of the store.


    I walked down and saw that he only had 3 swords.

    I pulled the shortsword off the rack and brang it up to the counter. "This and that bowie knife you got under the counter."


    He pulled the bowie knife out from the glass counter. "That''ll be 267 dollars."


    I pulled out the cash and walked off with two nice weapons. I walked around the flea market for awhile but never found anything. I went home and began my preperations for 8 oclock


    I took the wood boards and drilled them into my windows to reinforce them. I inspect the window and a screen appeared.

    I inspected my other window and found out that the normal window health is 10. It took 4 hours to reinforce the rest of my house. I pulled the timer back up.

    I decided to take a four hour nap. I set my weapons to the side of my bed and set a 4 hour timer on my phone. With that I fall asleep.

    I wake up and pull up the timer "Fuuuuck."

    Damnit I overslept and now I can''t make any last minute preperations. I sat there and watched a video until the timer ran down.

    The floor underneath me shook. I ran to my basement and hid under the stairs while white knuckling my sword. A paint can fell and hit me in the head knocking me out.


    I woke up later to something leaking onto my face. A wolf''s head stared down onto me. It had 6 eyes and 8 legs. It''s face peeled back to reveal all of its teeth ready to tear into me. I gripped my shortsword and drove the blade into the neck of the wolf.

    Normally I would be happy to recieve something like this but the requirements were fairly high for me and the fact that anything could spawn down here again unless I could find out a way to prevent that. I decided to walk upstairs and to clean up anything that went out of place from the earthquake. After quite a bit of cleaning I decided to peak outside. When the board was moved out of the way I saw wildlife walking around the ruins of the town, free of worry that a human would come and take them.


    Once I looked closer at some of the animals and used my inspect skill on a rabbit, a bull, and a goat.

    The bull semmed to be the boss since each animal would lower its head to it. I saw someone walk out of their door with a gun in hand. They aimed at the bull then let a few bullets fly out. Once the bullets hit the bull they simply bounced off. The rabbit hopped up behind the man and jumped at him impalimg his midsection. The bull ran into the man and shoved him through his house wall killing him on impact. The rest of the house''s wall fell into rubble. Inside you could see the man''s family screaming in terror as the bull jumped onto them kicking and stomping them to death. Once nothing was moving the bull walked off satisfied. The rabbit hopped along out of the house with the bull.


    I stared for seconds then minutes then I fell to my knees. "There is no way out is there."

 002 Taurus

    After I picked myself up front the ground I felt like I needed some food so I went back to my kitchen to get some food. After eating some fruit I decided that I should venture outside but from the roof. I went and grabbed some rope and made knots throughout the thing to make footholds. I tied the rope to a beam in the wall as an anchor. I went upstairs and threw the rope out the window. Once I made sure that the area was clear I climbed down the rope. Once I hit the grassy ground I crouched down and crouch walked everywhere I went.


    After some exploring of the area for mobs I decided to try to get into the dead guy''s house without being noticed. Once I got into the house I went to grab the guy''s gun and anything else seemingly useful. I went past the man and a hand grabbed my ankle. I grabbed my sword and swung at the hand. I stopped right before the sword connected because I noticed that the hand was very small like a child''s. I used all of my strength to lift the rubble. A little girl was trapped under the fallen wall. I pulled her out then set down the wall. "Are you okay?" I said in a hushed tone.


    She looked past me and stared at her dead father. Her eyes started to well up and overflow with tears. I felt so terrible but then again what could have I done? I wasn''t gonna be able to kill the bull and there was no way I could revive her father.


    She fell over and rolled into a ball I put my jacket on her then walked over into the kitchen and filled my bag with food and knives. Once I got out of the kitchen I saw that she walked out into the street and was running to the bull with a small pocket knife. She ran up and stabbed the bull''s leg. I used all the power in me and rushed forwards at speeds I couldn''t normally run.


    The bull kicked out and struck the girl in her leg. I could hear the audible snapping noise. I unsheathe my sword and stabbed the bull in it''s flank. "You will pay for her pain you piece of AH!!!"


    I didn''t notice but the horned rabbit had come behind me and stuck me in the side.

    I jumped onto the back of the bull and pulled out my bowie knife to stab the rabbit. Once the knife connected the rabbit spasmed and shook till it went limp. The bull bucked and jump around trying to kick me off of it''s back. I flicked the rabbit off of the knife and grabbed the bulls horn. Big mistake on my part. The bull used it''s horn to whip me forward.


    I held onto the horn and used the knife to slash the bull''s big throat. Once it started bleeding I started to stab at the eyes.

I looked where the bull would run. The girl was crawling away right into the bull''s path.     With the last ounce of strength left in me I grabbed the sword and used it to pull me onto the bull I gripped my knife and stabbed the bulls front right leg making it swerve to the right only a foot or two away from the girl. The bull fell to the ground with me on top of it. I got my leg out from under it. I grabbed the bull''s horns and pulled it head up. I began to savagely stab the bull to death. "Die for her pain, my pain, and for the death of a family!"

    I went back and reread every little bit of information. "Holy shit!!! This is so goddamn strong! Wait where is the girl?"

 003 Hunting and gathering

    Once we reach the top of the rope climb didn''t let the little girl off my back I let her to the bedroom and let her sleep in there and rest. I gather medical supplies so i can bandage her up in myself elsa grab some ice packs for any pain or bruising. After that I went through all the items I collected from the mountain bull. I put on the enraged mountain chest plate and then I went over and drink the vial of blood while eating the brain to see if I could gain any skills like the item description suggested. I cooked the cow brain in a frying pan and poured the blood into the pan. Once the meal was done in cooked so it didn''t seem toxic I pulled it off pan and set it on a plate ready to inspect what type of meal I made.

    I really wanted to try out my new skill but decided against it since I''m indoors right now. The girl was fast asleep when I checked in on her. I pulled up the rope and went to sleep myself.


    The next morning when I woke up the girl was sitting in the corner staring at the floor. "Hey I was gonna head out how about you tag along so you can get stronger."


    She only nodded her head then stood up. I gave her a kitchen knife. "Be careful with this since it could hurt someone. Only use it if you feel like someone might hurt you."


    We climbed down the rope then wandered on out of town into the forest area. We ran into her first opponent which was an overgrown maggot that had rows of sharp teeth. She was fearful of the maggot until I cut it with my shortsword knocking it down to a very unhealthy state. While it was squirming on the ground the girl stabbed it to death. "Finn a screen is in front of me."

    I started to walk off with the girl back towards my house. "Hey I gotta ask what is your name?"


    She looked up at me angry "Finn you babysat me a few times it''s me Sarah!"


    "Wait you mean doodle on the walls with a sharpie girl? Oh my god you gave me mini heart attacks every time I babysat you."


    "Well at least you keep me safe now and I don''t draw on any walls."

    With that we walked in silence till we got back to the house. Once we climbed back up she went to sleep for the night and I packed away all the loot. We got 31 X Vials (maggot), 6 X Vials (Horned rabbit), 4 X horns (Horned rabbit), 6 Pelts (Horned rabbit), and 9 X bacon strips (Forest pig).


    After that I also went to bed.


    Once it was morning I just laid there in bed wondering how long this type of life would last. I wondered how long until the fixing was over and how many people were left alive. Of course the system felt like raining on my day.

    Well damn that means within a few days 2.9 billion people have died off. I wonder if the number keeps falling or if it is stagnant.


    Oh trust me it is falling still. The rate is now 200 million humans die a day. If this rate continues the fixing will be over in about 20~ish days. So have fun Finn.


    I felt like it was possible that maybe me and sarah would outlive the rest just by hiding in the house and hunting for food. Undisturbed and left alone. Then I hear a knocking on the front door

 004 Visitors

    The knocking continued for a few seconds. Then knockers shouted "Help us! Please let us in! There are monsters everywhere!"


    I knew that it was a lie since me and Sarah killed everything in the area. I still yelled back though. "Oh really? I know that your spouting bullshit. We already killed everything in the area. Leave us and this area. I claimed it already after killing the boss so leave."


    The voice relaxed and yelled back in a threatening tone "Well then if it''s so safe how about you come on out before we come in."


    I was starting to get pissed now "Trust me when I say this humans give nice xp and I will have time to hide your bodies before sarah wakes up."


    After that remark I heard a guns be drawn "Listen here child! You will not survive this unless you let us in!"


    I just ended up deciding to pull open the hamlet screen to see if I could find some options to deter the visitors

    I selected the defense page and how to defend guide popped up along with with a trap guide but nothing else came up. I then went and selected the building page and many options popped up. It ranged from skyscrapers and alien turrets all the down to a small straw hut. But still no defense options that I could use since they all used IMD or Infinite monetary denominations. I then went and choose the shop option. A whole new screen appeared with 4 new options

    I read the scrolls requirements and felt crestfallen at that point. I could raise my stats with my AP but the level requirements killed my plan. I decided that I would but the scroll but I would go fight the people with their own tools of choice. Once the scroll was bought I stashed it away in a drawer for later use. A screen popped up

    I decided to jump out of my back window after dismissing my stat screen. Just wait you fuckers i''m gonna make sure that you won''t see the next day. I thought to myself.


    As I was thinking about how I should attack I heard my door creak in from a bashing sound.


    Someone has began to lay siege to your stronghold! A reward will be issued for killing the threat but if they get away you only get half of the reward.


    The banging kept to continue as I crept around the house. I pulled out my knife and used it as a mirror to see around the corner. There were five people all with guns. They had huge backpacks on and were holding their bygones like a military personal or cop would. The professionalism of their stances and grips made me feel like they might be high level or combatant before the fixing.


    The man who was yelling up to me yelled again "Hey man just open your door and we wont kill you or the girl."


    I watched him chuckle and face his companions and whisper something that made all of them laugh. I angered me so much that I decided to activate goring rush and activate right as I rounded the corner. The skill pulled me right into the guy closest to me.


    The rest turned to watch their comrade be cut in half. The man''s torse folded over my arm and started twitching on the ground. The main guy pointed his gun and fired. It hit me in the chest but the chest piece stopped the bullet making it fall to the ground.

    I gripped my sword and slashed at the man but he ducked out of the way enabling him to dodge by a hair''s width. I then activated goring rush again forcing my arm through his Shoulder. Once the skill wore off I gripped his heart and yanked it with all of my strength. To my suprise ripped out a piece of his lung. I crushed it with my fingers then moved onto the next person. His pants looked wet. I grabbed the gun from guy I just killed then shot the two guys who dropped the ram. The one guy who was left started to shake in fear "What are you a fucking monster!?"


    "I am the ruler of this area and you disturbed my life. I''ll give you once chance to tell me why I shouldn''t feed you to the maggots in the forest."


    His eyes shifted around for a second then he spoke "Because I was taken captive by those guys! This was my chance to run since they didn''t have me tied up in the basement or to one of the guys. They walked me around I a dog man! Please let me live!"


    I then walked up to him and ripped off his jacket sleeves. I noticed cuts and scarring on his arms. His wrists had rope burns and bruising. "Fine then you get to live another day."


    He started to cry "Thank you sir but please I ask one thing of you."


    I look into his eyes "What do you want?"


    "Please let me live here with you guys. It so safe here and I could help with food or building."


    I thought it over for a second then came up with my response "Oh you can stay bu"


    "Thank you wont regret this!" He interrupted.


    I felt the urge to now kick him out but held my anger "BUT there is a catch. Go kill enough monsters that you reach level 2. Once that is done come give me any loot. After that you will be allowed to live here without worry of being kicked out unless you really fuck it up."


    He has a sour look when I said the loot part but then realised that it might be worth it to live here permanently over being here for one day while making an enemy of me. "It will be done." his voice trailed off like he wanted to say my name but remembered that he didn''t know it.


    "My name is Finn by the way. Yours is?"


    His eyes looked back at me "Jack sir."


    I rolled my eyes and spoke back with a little bit of annoyance "Only call me Finn no lord or sir shit got it. Now if you want you can claim one of the homes here since everyone used to live here died in the fixing."


    Sure it was a sad thing to say but you know what it was the truth besides sarah''s family and me everyone else in the neighborhood was very elderly and was killed by a something that spawned in their homes. Jack walked off to a house and opened the door. Once inside he took about a minute or so then walked out. He turned to me and yelled something then walked of to the woods. I couldn''t make out what he said but a screen popped up

    I climbed back into the house once I gathered the bodies then burned them. Once that was done I filled the hole back up then hauled my new supplies back into my house. With my day seeming fairly successful I decided to find a book and do some survival research to increase my INT or WIS so I learn the two spells I now have.

 005 Leaving town

    After a few hours of reading some books about survival and first aid I gained 3 INT and 3 WIS. I even gained the skill First aid which allowed me to tie a bandage properly, clean wounds, and other helpful quick fixes. After that Jack came back with a bunch of loot and an extra level under his belt. "Finn I finished the quest!"


    I climbed down then looked around the corner seeing Jack "Good job. Your now have two new tasks to do. Please go make us a garden or farm where we can eat from and until I and sarah are back watch over the place."


    Jack grimaced "Got it" he then let out a loud sigh.


    With that I walked back to my house and climbed the rope to go wake sarah "Sarah get packed we''re gonna go on a trip."


    I heard a noise of the bedroom door creaking and a little voice slipped out "Ok Finn. Let me get my stuff together."


    With that I sat down on my couch and closed my eyes for a little nap.


    I wake up a few hours later to a poking feeling. My eyes peeled open to see sarah poking me on the cheek "Finn wake up I''m packed and you''re not even awake!"


    I sit up and shake off the sleep then tell her to climb down and wait for me while I grab something real quick. I walk over to my desk drawer and pull out the scrolls.

    Yes I thought. The scrolls then went blank and I received two blank spell scrolls. It says that they could be used for copying down magic information. With that I went and climbed down with my gear on. "Alright Sarah to the city we go."


    Sarah looked me in the eyes and said "Isn''t it full of monsters?"


    I nodded my head "Totally is. You know what the means? A city full of XP, skills, and IMD."


    Her head fell a little sideways "IMD?"


    I forgot that she didn''t know what IMD was "The systems currency. Now let''s go. HEY JACK WE''RE LEAVING!"


    His voice responded with a few curses then quilted down as I heard a door slam close. I wonder who has the issue me or Jack. I pondered if I asked too much or if it''s the fact they I did right after he finished a quest for me then I gave two more. On the way out of town I saw some bikes laying against the ground that seemed fairly undamaged. "Sarah or little trip just became a little sorter by travel means anyway."


    I went over to the bikes and gave sarah one while I hopped on mine. Once we left on the bikes I noticed how sarah was either taking the death of her family very well or if the fear of death was so much that she couldn''t worry about the dead. After some time I concluded it must be both.


    After some time on the bikes we saw a man on the side of the road. Sarah was looking at him but I could just feel danger not from man but from the bushes behind him. She leaned right and her bike went closer to the man "Sarah leave him. He has a weird feeling."


    As we past I noticed that it was one of my coworkers who always picked on me for being the new guy. Eh fuck that guy he was a dick anyways.


    As we kept riding we saw the tall building come into view. The skyscrapers were cracked in half and in ruins. We decided to use a pair of binoculars to see if we could find any monsters. What we found was very odd though. There were some monsters sure but nothing that could have destroyed entire buildings. We then got back on the bikes and slowly rode closer to the city.


    Once we got to the first building in the city we got attacked by 3 monsters who were all level 1s. After killing them we moved through the building to find nothing left. Once we went onto roof in a last ditch effort to find loot. Once we hit the top I saw a bunch of monsters crowding around a door.


    Once we saw that we made a break for the exit downstairs. We hit the pavement riding the bikes. Once we were about 1 block away we got prepared for a fight. I gave Sarah the 9mm pistol while I pulled out my sword. I then ran at the monsters and activated goring rush once I was 30 feet away. I tried to stab through as many monsters as I could have. I ended up slicing 6 in half while they weren''t paying attention. The bodies hitting the ground got the attention of the rest of the monsters. There were 12 left. I heard a loud crack in the air and a monster fell. "Nice one Sarah keep shooting them!"


    I then swung my sword while activating my skills again. This time the skill combined with my sword swing making my sword glow with a bright blue hue. When the sword swung it shot out a large air pressure that cut the 4 monsters. Sarah shot two more times killing one monster. I swung again not realising that my last attack used the rest of my mana.

    With that message I tasted a large amount of iron. I spit to get the flavour out and realized that blood flew out. With that I swung my sword again but the aura was that of a crimson hue. The rest of the monsters fell with that swing. After the last monster falling I heard the doors swing open. "Thank you Sir. Are you ok?"


    Fucking really? This is what they ask after watching that while im coughing up my own blood. Hmm maybe im the asshole but you know what I think I could be a little angry at the fact that they didn''t even try to help me help them. "Yeah I''m fine. I just need a few minutes to heal."


    The people were made up of 3 women, 4 men, and 2 kids one boy and one girl. Once I regained my health I stood up and walked over to the group ''Hey guys if you guys can prove me that you won¡¯t be dead weight. Now you might wonder why you should try to complete some quest to join some backwoods settlement. That would be because the area I run only has three people there and if you nine joined the settlement you would become founders of the settlement and have the most impact on the area beyond any newer people. There would be me on top then Sarah and Jack in second then you guys in third. Yes the pecking order doesn''t seem to be the greatest but then when a fourth group joins you will be above them. The quest is to reach level 2 before the end of the week. Should be easy for you guys."


    The group looked at me like I was insane then the two kids spoke up "What about us? Will we be in third with our parents?"The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.


    I thought about it for a second then addressed them "You guys won''t have to reach level 2 if you don''t want. Yeah you guys will have to grow up very fast but not yet. You guys can just straight up join without the quest your parents however will have to do the quest."


    A man spoke up with anger in his voice, "Why do we have to do the quest and they don''t have to?!"


    I smirked then turned to sarah "Sarah please spar with him."


    She stood up from playing a game with the other kids "Got it!"


    Once she stood up she ran at the man then kicked him in the leg. He slightly bent since he was unaware she had any strength "That didn''t do anything."


    I nodded my head "I know. That''s because she is level 2 but also a child. Now be prepared for me."


    The man''s eyes filled with fear "Wait no but your glowing sword and arm thing I can''t fight."


    I didn''t notice but I already activated the skill uncouncissly "Oh sorry reflex I guess."


    To get rid of the skill I rammed by hand through the building''s wall making the wall rumble "Now we are all set."


    The man held up his hands to surrender "Please don''t! I realize why you made it the way it is. We will do the quest since your the only being strong enough to protect us."


    I turn away from the group and point to the direction of my settlement "Head in that direction for a little while and you can find a small village with 9 houses. One''s wall will be caved in. The house across from that is off limits since that is where I live. Once you arrive looking for a man named Jack. He should be the only person there once you find him tell Finn sent you for a quest."


    With that Sarah and I get onto our bikes and ride off further into the city. The plan is to go find that weapon shop where I got my sword from. After a few minutes of riding our bikes we saw my old work with the place boarded up. I motioned for Sarah to follow me over. She only nodded her head then followed.


    Once we rode up to my old work I knocked on the wooden barricade. "Hey idiots it''s Finn open up!""


    I heard some feet shuffling inside then a wooden barricade slightly move and a mirror pop out to get a view of me. In that second I saw a pair of unnatural eyes looking at me in the mirror. "Sarah get back!"


    I then grabbed her and started running away from the store to our bikes. Once I got to the bikes I saw a tentacle slither out of the window reaching for us. The boards holding up against the weight of the creature started to crack under the pressure. I witnessed the boards fall away in pieces as a slimy human like things went over the window to get out. "Human smart for running. Human no beat me. I powerful god."


    As the creature said that is shot forwards and grabbed my arm "Listen human. You no beat me. You weak me strong. Come to me. Join friends in death." I giggled to me.


    With panic I used the inspect skill.

    With anger boiling inside of me I activated goring rush and cut into the humanoid.

    The humanoid looked down to me and frowned "Why try? Stupid human you can''t hurt me. Why try?"


    Anger filled me and filled my words with poison "Because I won''t die here and to something like you!" With that I activated goring rush but aimed it to the side of Sarah. Once the skill launched me I grabbed Sarah ripping me and her from the thing''s grip. I then started to run with sarah on my back "FUCK FUCK FUCK! That thing is way too strong to be at the beginning of the fixing!"


    A weak voice whispered in my "Finn he isn''t following us. He walked back into the shop then replaced the board."


    I stopped then looked back to see the thing gone. Once I felt a little safety a screen popped up.

    With a not as rude of a comment from the system I swallowed the skill pill and selected Goring rush. Which summoned 3 windows condensed into one

    Once I dimmissed the screen I pulled out the spell scroll. I read the scroll but this time it burned up in a golden flame.

    A large black egg floated down into my hands. "So this is my familiar for my existence. Huh wonder how long till it hatches?" With my words pouring out the egg started to crack at a rapid pace. After about 10 seconds the egg shell blew up. Sending a black smog spilling out of the empty space. A little squid the size of my thumb floated out of the smog. It flew up to my eye for a second then flew onto the top of my ear. I felt a pinching sensation on my ear but tried my best to not whip my hand up to my ear to check what happened. Once my hand was there I felt a few small holes in my right ear. The kraken was gone though, making wonder where it went. As usual a screen popped up in front of my face.

    Sarah motioned for the bikes but I shook my head knowing we could just walk a block and find others. As we walked I wondered where my life would go and what that would look at. Would it stay how it is just surviving or would I end up conquering more areas to reunite humanity to fight off monsters and reclaim the entire world for my own?


    I shook my head and thought to myself how it was very bold of me to assume that I could take over the world with something like Rinx out there or stronger. "Sarah seems like some bikes are over there let''s grab those."


    After that we rode off back to the settlement tired from the activities of today. My next goal is to increase my constitution to increase the length of my activities.

 006 Farming and Fishing

    February 9th 2023


    Four days after the Rinx incident...


    "Sarah where are you?" yelled out the little boy named Brandon.


    "Hehehe. You will never find me Brandon!" giggled Sarah.


    I woke up in a decent mood and decided to just go help Jack out with his farming. After a minute of walking I reached Jack''s farm. "Hey Jack!"


    Jack came rounding the corner at a very fast pace. "Yeah Finn what''s up?"


    As I walked closer I see Jack is covered in dirty overalls. "I was taking a few days off and wanted to help you man. What kind of stuff you got going on right now?"


    Jack motions for me to follow him to the farm "This is what I have going on. It''s a real pain in my ass but damn it''s gonna pay off to have."


    Once I saw what Jack was talking about I was blown away that he could have done this within a few days that he has been here. "Jack how did you do all of this? Better yet how did you do all of it this fast?"


    Jack started to the farm and spoke while smiling at his work "Well my farming skill reached level twenty that''s how. I also used old pipes from my house and other houses to make these massive irrigation pipes. According to my skill the plants should finish within a few days. By then we will have as may plant based foods as you want."


    I smiled then my face fell into a frown "Wait Jack do you have any animals?"


    Jack looked back to me then sighed "No bacon or steaks sadly. If you could bring back animals I could raise some young then kill the parents for meat."


    "I will totally do that since that right now could be on the very top of my priority list. Here''s another question for you. Can you raise fish?"


    Jack shook his head "No not yet. Five more levels then I can. Once I hit level 40 I can raise monsters though. Once I''m level 50 I can mix DNA of most creatures and create new ones or just raise let''s say two cows who have the best steaks then extract their DNA to make a breed of cows that produce the best steaks."


    I tilted my head to the side "How long to level 50 then? When level 100 is the even better question."


    He looked at me with a face of confusion "Why would I know. I mean 50 should take about 2 weeks while level 100 is a pipe dream for me. Oh, also I have to tell you once I hit level 50 I will be sucked into a portal for 1 week to get my profession. Then once I hit level 100 I will become an ascended farmer. After that I will have to do a series of quests to become a transcended farmer."


    I had some questions but went against asking so we can get to work sooner. "Alright then let''s get to work Jack."


    With that we went to working the fields. The one thing that pissed me off is that whenever I willed something or cared for a crop Jack would point out that I was being to rough or I was doing it wrong. I held my tounge though since this is a skill I might need to learn so I can grow any magical crops I run across or just maybe I want a house plant to liven up my home.This story has been stolen from Royal Road.     After 2 days of helping Jack out he hit level 25 so I decided to go fishing to get him some fish. "Alright everyone I gonna be out of town for a few days so please if you can stay safe and if anyone shows up to the settlement either fight them off or give them usual welcoming quest but only if they seem like they can help the settlement. One more thing if anyone finds some animals please lock them up for Jack since he will be using them on the farm. Oh shit one more thing we will be expanding the influence of the town soon and it will reach the city after a few months meaning everyone must have weapons and armor by then."


    The group spoke in unison "Understood!"


    With that I turned away grabbed a fishing rod and hopped on a bike. While riding off I looked back at the progress we made and thought to myself ''Seems like we have some nice things going on but then again nothing lasts forever.'' I turned back to the direction of the lake and pushed myself harder so I can get there that much faster.


    I reflect on my life during moments like these and thought back to how my life used to be. I used to be a 5 foot 7 inch twerp who wouldn''t raise a hand against anyone. I remember the time that I watched as my friends were getting picked on but never did anything. A week later they told me I wasn''t welcome to hangout with them anymore because I was too much of a traitor to them. Then I look at my life now and think about the changes that have happened to me. I used to be shorter and scrawny wearing tight clothes since I simply wanted to fit in. Now I''m a leader who runs a small settlement that works very well. I changed to some baggy clothes to since they are way more comfy to fight and do things in compared to tight jeans and some super tight hoodie that didn''t offer any real heat.


    Once I was done thinking to myself I realised that I arrived at the lake. I stopped the bike then got off to walk to the lake. Rod in hand and bait on hook I cast my line and sat down. With that set up I pulled out a small pocket book and wrote down ideas for the settlement and also ideas of how to deal with the lack of defenses.


    My rod started to pull away from me when I was comparing defense options. I gripped the rod''s grip and yanked on it to snag the hook into its cheek. I started to reel in the fish but felt that reeling it in wouldn''t bring it out of the water so I used my strength to pull out the fish.


    Once I yanked the rod the water rippled and then some spines broke the water with a roaring noise broke out from under the water. I yanked again and out flew a frog type monster covered in spines and it had an alligator''s head. I used inspect on it.


    Spined Arog:

    I pull out my sword and summon Typhon. I tell Typhon to go and spray some ink into its eyes. He gets close but then the Arog shoots out spines at him shooting him out of the air. I then use Goring rush and wrap it around my blade and slash at the Arog dealing 47 damage. Once Typhon got back up he went back to trying to spray ink at the Arog but this time from high in the air. I slash again draining the rest of my mana. I then use the fishing rod and whip it to the side and it took the Arog with it whipping it into a tree. I check the Arog''s health again.

    Alright I should try to wrap this up quickly since Typhon looks weak and won''t last too much longer. I then grabbed the rod and whip it over my head pulling the Arog from the tree high into the air slamming it down into the dirt. It spat a green liquid then slowed its breathing. I went over and checked its health again 43 left. I pulled out my sword and slashed its throat finishing it off.


    I decided that maybe I should just by some fish from the system. I packed up the Arog''s loot then headed back to the village was disappointed that the lake might be too dangerous for most.


    Once I headed back to the settlement I looted the Arog and stuffed away its blood and spines. I gave it to Meg who was interested in dissecting the monster corpses to better understand the monsters we face day to day.


    I bought 20 fish and 2 cows and gave them to Jack. "Thanks Finn with these animals we should now be able to have a steady supply of meat for ourselves."


    "Alright Jack you have fun with that I am going to sleep." I turned away and went into my house and slept for the rest of the night.

 007 Green devils

    I wake up to the noise of a shrill screeching noise. I get up and lean out of my window to see Sarah stabbing a green creature. I was scratching at her face but her knife kept it at a long enough distance that its arms couldn''t reach her. I let down my rope then climbed down. To see if Sarah needed any help. "Ya need any help or do you got this."


    Sarah twisted her blade then the creature went stiff and burst into a cloud of shiny white mist. "I got it. I found it just walking through the middle of town meaning the guard was probably asleep."


    I scratched my head. "I will have to talk to Jack then to see how he put as the guard for tonight."


    I heard a few creaking noises and turned to see that the thing''s screech woke up the whole hamlet. "What is going on Finn?"


    I turned to the voice and it was Jack jogging over. "The guard must have fallen asleep since a green creature got in. Luckily Sarah killed it. Hey Sarah is the cloud thing a skill of yours?"


    She shook her head "No." She waved away the cloud and it dissipated revealing a red gem and a white gem which I used inspect both on.

    I picked up both crystals and handed both to Sarah "The red one you should swallow like a pill while the white one should be held onto for later use." She nodded and then swallowed the red crystal.


    She looked up to me "It melts in your mouth then your mouth tastes like a load of iron. Oh a screen popped up in front of me. It says that I have gained one to each stat and I even gained something called a Blood wheel. It says that each time you swallow a blood crystal your blood wheel will gain blood traits. You can spin the wheel at anytime but if it doesn''t work, you will lose all your progress. It also says that there are two types of blood wheels. The first is the monster wheel so when you spin you have to pick a monster''s blood that you want to spin for. So let''s say that you want goblin traits you will be only rolling the wheel for goblin traits and only that monsters blood build up will be rolled. The second wheel is a Heritage wheel so when you roll this wheel you won''t gain traits from a monster but instead you will gain memories or techniques from their blood. If you get a noble monster''s heritage your bloodline will be mixed with it and you gain the chance to gain their throne if you can kill the rest of your now siblings. Wow this system had a lot of stuff to say. Thanks system."


    I wondered why only the goblin dropped the crystals while this has never happened before. Was it a rare thing or could it only happen under certain circumstances? I pondered it for a second then a screen popped up.

    My brow furrowed into a ball with how confused I was. ''So how is it that we were the first to get one? Surely by now someone is out there hunting down a large amount of creatures. Unless this is the first dead demon. Either way we really lucked out by being the first to have this stuff. We need to start hunting more aggressively to improve my people with blood crystals.''


    I looked back to Sarah "How much percent did the one blood crystal give you?" I asked quickly.


    Sarah smiled with glee "One hundred percent since I am the first. I also get a large boost in my gains with blood crystals because again I am the first. The system also gave two skills the first skill is blood culling which lets me destroy one trait that I choose from the blood crystal. I chose to cull the trait Green blood there is a cool down of 12 hour thought. The other skill I gained is called Blood burn. It lets me consume a blood crystal and use its percentage gains as a fuel for my stats. It also says for each percentage used I gain 1 stat to everything."


    Sometimes when she talks I forget that she is still a child. I wonder if she has been raising her intelligence stat a ton. "Hey Sarah can I try and use your soul stone? If it gets used up I can go and find you a new one." She looked up and me and handed me the stone "Don''t even worry about getting another one. I have no uses for it as far as my skills go." With that she hands me the soul crystal. Then does a slot machine pull and lets her arms fall to her sides watching the air. After a minute or so a blood red mist popped into existence growing and growing. It flew into Sarah nose, mouth, and ears lifting her off of her feet. Her eyes were crimson then faded into her normal blue eyes but with a strange speckle of green here and there.


    Sarah frowned and looked up at me "I got the trait Enthuke''s chosen. It gives me direct contact with the god of the goblins and allows me to take quests and rewards from him." Once she was done talking her eyes glazed over then looked to me with glowing green eyes. A voice came out of her. It was deep and dry "This is now my child. Those who come to claim her life shall meet my wraith. I bless these lands with a gift." Sarah then looked to me "Listen her Finn. You will protect my child with your very life or I will let Rinx loose again. If you let her live without harm till she becomes 13. you and her will be blessed with a divine gift of mine. For now I will allow you to have a taste of your potential. Remember to protect the future queen." With that Sarah''s eyes faded back to normal. She doubled over clutching her stomach. I noticed that green blood flowed from her mouth. It flowed into a line that then crawled onto her neck. It seemed to make a sigil then it sunk into her neck becoming a glowing green tattoo.


    I picked her up after seeing that she was fine and was only sleeping. Once I brought her back to the house I set her in her bed then checked my notifications

    I felt a feeling of pride knowing that Sarah was gonna maybe grow up to become a great being but I also felt a large pressure knowing that Rinx could be back to fuck everything up. I Felt a warmth coming from my pocket. I reached into it and fished around till I found the warmth, it was the soul crystal. I decided to experiment with it and set it closer to Sarah and farther from me. The crystal dimmed down. Once I grabbed it and brought it closer to me it felt warm and glowed even brighter. I then set onto the drawer and walked away. Once again it dimmed to a very soft glow. I then grabbed the crystal and tried to naw on it seeing it could be chewed on but after a minute nothing worked. I guess Enthuke was watching me the whole time because I felt a hand take the crystal and shove it down my throat and shutting my mouth to force me to swallow. I felt like a little kid be force fed their cold medicine.


    After a few seconds I felt a warmth in my stomach. It spread out over my body causing me to heat up and sweat. The heat soon became too much for me to handle and I let out a scream of pain. It felt like someone was flaying me while another person poured salt and lemon juices into my wounds. My teeth felt like they were being ripped out. My muscles were cramping. I fell to the floor in pain. I was shaking on the ground with my mouth frothing. My body was convulsing and flopping around so much that I hit my head onto the tiles and cracking them. I layed there for minutes then hours until the pain finally went away.


    I opened my eyes to see something in the mirror looking back at me. Its ears were long like elven ears, it had silver hair and glowing orange eyes with black pupils. Its skin was a dull grey mixed with a bunch of dark red symbols covering its arms and legs. I tried to stand up but so did the creature. I looked down to look at myself then back to the creature. I looked normal so was this some sort of magic or was I able to see into a new dimension with mirrors? I walked closer to the mirror and the creature came closer. I decided that this must be me in but maybe a magical way like my true potential. I held my arm close to the mirror and pressed onto it. My arm slid right through while making ripples in the mirror like it liquid. I then felt like a hand grabbed my arm and whipped me through the portal.


    Once I was totally through I felt myself become taller, lighter, and stronger than ever before. I looked around to see a cloaked person lying on the ground. I walked over and tried to get close but then a black beam shot through my chest hitting me so hard I flew back. The person stood up and turned to me "Welcome to the soul canvas. This will be your home until you can impress me."

 008 The Soul Canvas

    "What do you mean until I impress you?" I asked wondering why I was being held in this place. The person removed their hood to reveal a smooth head with no face and nothing else on it. "I am a reflection of your soul." I spoke but inside of my head. "You will be held here by me your own soul. Here is the soul you just consumed. Also the reason my face is completely smooth is simply because your soul has nothing to its name. No power or entitled power to speak of."


    I grabbed a small crystal from its hand and gripped it. I wondered if the crystal could now be a weapon like a sword or a dagger. With that thought the crystal became a sword then morphed into a dagger. "Really? You want to fight me with that pitiful weapon. If your going to fight me then you might as well pick a less generic weapon. Something that reflects your personality." I thought on its words then thought of a weapon I saw in a shop one time. A pair of brass knuckles appeared but they had blade on the front but also the bottom of them. When I slipped them on the blades pointed downwards. I gripped the blades and felt like they could be a good weapon choice if I did a lot of practicing.


    I rushed to the other ''me'' and slashed at him. He easily dodged it then followed up with a punch of his own knocking me onto my back. The punch felt like someone put a bunch of pillows around a baseball bat. It hit me with a bunch of force but only force to push me back and not to harm me. I picked myself up and ran forward to slash at ''myself'' but this time I used goring rush to make an aura slicer. Once I tried to activate the skill it fell apart with my mana failing to shape itself. So I decided to try and rush it but this time I ducked the arm and stabbed the blade into the ground to use it to spin and sweep for his legs.


    Once I hit its legs it began to fall so I pulled out my blade and slashed at its face scoring scratches on the perfectly wound object. I then followed up with a stab by raising the blades above my head then bringing crashing down into the thing''s neck and ribs. The stabs went through like butter but then melted into my soul. It swung its arm at me but this time it brought me close to it. "Tell me Finn. Pick a feature from the creature in the mirror that I should take on."


    "What are the features I can pick from?" I asked while sitting on the ground. "The features are hair, ears, eyes, mouth, skin, or special feature." it responded.


    "What is the special feature?" I asked. It shook its head "I cannot tell you until you choose it."


    I sat there in thought for a second and decided to ask another thing "Are the red symbols part of the skin feature?"


    It nodded its head in agreement but said nothing. I straightened myself and gave it my answer "I choose the skin feature."


    It stood up and it did something with its hands to make a hand gesture that no human could do with bones in their fingers. A dot appeared on its head then began to spread till it began to cover the head then the upper chest leaking down till even the feet were covered. Once that was done a bunch of red dots grew into symbols that covered my soul''s arms. Once that was done it gave me a thumbs up then flicked its wrist forcing me to fly backwards for what seemed like minutes then hours. I soon fell asleep to the whistling to the wind in my ears and the light pressure the wind created on my back.This story originates from Royal Road.     I woke up on my floor with the mirror once again in front of me. I saw myself but also a little ripple on the mirror. It was pulsing constantly making waves. I stood up then checked where Sarah was sleeping to she that the bed was empty. I then went outside to see what was going on. Once I rounded the corner of my house I saw a goblin group sitting around a fire cooking a boar. I readied myself for a fight by pulling out a sword and activating goring rush. Just as I was about to release the skill onto the group jack tackled me to the ground from behind forcing my skills into the dirt. The dirt pulsed outwards like a wave.


    I stood up and looked to Jack "Dude what the fuck was that for?! They are goblins!" Jack looked to them then back to me "Yeah but dude they are bound by their god to be peaceful here unless provoked. They act like guards for Sarah. Wherever she goes they follow. She is out hunting with the other group right now though."


    I couldn''t shake the feeling that this would end terribly if anything goes wrong. I looked back to Jack to ask him about the farm "So Jack how is the farm right now?" He grew a smile the size of the world itself. "Dude it is amaze balls. The animals you gave me are working great while the plants are growing like crazy. I actually had started a project underground. Here lemme show you." Jack began to walk through the middle of the town while giving the goblins a friendly wave and in turn they smiled and waved back.


    Once we arrived at the farm I could see a large farm the went for what seemed like a a square mile of land. In the center of the farming land is a small concrete block with a hatch on top of it. We began for the hatch but once we got there I saw a bunch of carvings in the stone making magical circles. "Hey Jack how do we open this?" I asked.


    He responded with a defeated look "Once it was set in place it wouldn''t open for anyone." I knelt down to the hatch then touched the hatch willing it to open. A prompt popped up asking if I wanted to open it. I selected yes and the hatch glowed with a bright golden glow. It began to disintegrate to ash and fall down into the hole. Once the hatch was completely gone we began to climb down.


    Once we were down to the floor of the cave we walked for a few minutes and arrived at a door made of steel. Jack then fished out his keys and unlocked the door to reveal a medium sized room. It looked like a house but also an armory. The wall to the left was covered it weapons and armor while the right wall was dug out to make a living area with an infirmary. "What is the gear for? For the defense from up or from what''s behind that door." As said the last bit I pointed to the door to the other door with 3 locks on it. Jack chuckled a little and sat down in a soft looking chair. He scratched his head and spoke "Trust me it''s for what''s behind the door. I don''t go in without being suited up with the best gear we have." He tilted backwards in the chair and pulled a lever on the side of the chair to release the leg rest.


    With that he fell asleep. Leaving me somewhat alone with nobody to talk to for fun. I walked over to the wall and pulled off a suit of leather armor. Once the armor was strapped on I opened the door then walked through ready for any challenges that I may face

 009 The farm

    As I walked into the farm I looked around the area. There were hanging vines with glowing moss on the ceiling. Bugs floating around just living their lives. I even saw a cow that I gave Jack. I decided to walk around a little so I went through an opening in the wall. Once through I saw a large glass tank filled with fish above a multi-level farm for the fish''s poop to become fertilizer for the plants. The plants consisted of corn, wheat, hemp, and some other veggies. I walk over to the plants then climb a ladder to get up to the tank to see that Jack went ahead and got a variety of fish and tools for each of the fish''s needs. The tank overall looked like a fish palace where fish swam in and out as they pleased. Satisfied with Jack work I climbed down to explore some more. I notice that there is an under construction sign on a wall will pickaxes lying on the ground near it. I walk over to the wall then see a briefcase with plans for a very large pool over 100 feet deep with prison cells at the very bottom. I looked closer at the plans and saw a glass bubble as the jail cells for people who can''t breathe underwater.


    I decide that we did need a prison just in case but maybe not an underwater one where if you tried to escape you would drown to death. I put the plans back down then went to another sign with another briefcase with plans. These plans were describing a large bunker for hiding underground. I could house up to 250 people for the first level. There were 10 levels planned each with an armory, kitchen, air system, and a miniature farm that could sustain the floor if the food planted was enhanced somehow. I did like the plans but they seemed dangerous since the floors were only 3 feet thick and no support beams running through all the floors.


    I looked around but saw nothing else to check so I left the farm to go back to the main entrance. This time I went through another tunnel to see the rest of the cows were feeding on grass and drinking water. I walked to the main entrance with nothing left to see and decided to drag the cow back into its area. Once I put the cow where it should be I wondered why Jack told me to wear armor into the cave. I walked back into the main entrance to look to the last tunnel last had a metal door with a sign that read ''Stay out monsters are inside. Finn that means you too. These monsters are at least level 15 to 20 maybe even higher since I didn''t go past the first room when the dungeon was made. Enter once you have someone who can beat the raid boss in a 1v1 situation.''


    I chuckled and shook my head. I take out a piece of paper and write down ''Nice try Jack. I''m gonna go ahead and try to fight some stuff in here. If I don''t come out within 24 hours then I am dead making you(Jack) the new leader. I write this note at 4:27 PM''


    With my note written and out of my mind I unlock the door and take the first steps to either my ascension or devastation.


    Once through the door I see maggot like creatures that range from the size of a moped to the size of an SUV. There was egg sacs on the ground wiggling around like something was hatching. I summon Typhon to be at the ready. I activate fleeting speed and dash forwards driving my sword into the head of a maggot cutting through its mouth but stopping after a foot causing the maggot to spray acidic blood all over me. I then activated goring rush causing an aura blade to cut the rest of the maggot. I turned around to see three more maggots beginning to surround me. I activate fleeting speed again and hop over the maggots body to create distance between me and the other maggots.


    Once I land on the other side side of the maggot''s corpse I loot it real quick getting a vial of acid (Maggot blood) but nothing useful for now. I look around and see an egg in front of me which I decide to slash the head off so it won''t even hatch "Haha spawn killed bitch!" I then see the maggots begin to get around the dead body. I activate fleeting speed and run forwards slashing the two more eggs on the way.


    I pull out a pistol thinking this is my last resort since it makes a load of noise. Once the three bullets rang out three dead bodies fell around me. I went around killing four more maggots finishing off the rest of this room. I walk around looting every dead body. I gained nine more vials of acid and I even got a blood crystal. I eat it with the feeling of a slimy goo sliding down my throat. I open the blood wheel wondering what traits I could get.     I pondered if any of the choices sound useful. The wings could evolve later on to the ability of flight while the dull eyes sound useless. The hollow teeth sound like a vampire route. I wonder if I would even want to become a vampire? I shake my head and think of all the downsides with being a vampire so I choose the wings.

    WIth that I feel a push on my back and hear a large tearing noise as my skin gets ripped away. I feel a rush of air fill my shoulder blades. I try to imagine my shoulder blades wrapping around me. I end up slapping myself in the face with my new wings. I then pull them away from my face and see a pair of wings filled with black feathers. They have the red symbols from my soul on them. I then imagine my skin being covered in the skin of my soul. I feel a searing pain fill my forehead then spread to the rest of my body. I open my eyes and look down at my hands to see black skin covered in red symbols. I activate fleeting speed and watch as the symbols turn a dull blue and shift into clouds. A window pops up

    I fold up my wings and undo my skin. I then walked out of the first room to the second.

    Prometheus: Because we are gods who shouldn''t meddele in mortal affairs.

    Wukong: We will give them blessings if they earn it they will recieve punishment if they challenge us agreed?


    The gods once again nodded their heads.


    Zeus: It is decided then we will deal with them at a minimum of it being needed or as we please but we kill them without them being a threat to us.

    I look to my left then my right to see nothing around me at the moment. I then look up and shudder to see a ceiling full of man sized bats hanging there with yellow eyes looking at me. SCREEEE! The bats began to fall onto me. I unfurled my wings and covered myself from the bats scratching me. Once it stopped I saw that forty five percent of my health was missing. I decided that right now right here I must run away while having my health chipped away or murder every godamn bat here in order to live.


    I gripped the hilt of my blade and began swinging aura blades around slicing a few bats to ribbons. They fell around me while a few were still in the air. They bombed back down at me accelerating at a breakneck speed. The bat hit me in the chest with a wing knocking me down luckily allowing me to avoid another bat but this hit took fifteen percent of my health showing that my wings were two shields on my back.


    The bats circled again readying themselves for another attack so I swung a aura blade but then heard a fizzling noise and watched as my skill fell apart. I felt a wave of coldness wash over me. For the first time since Rinx I feel a fear of overwhelming weakness. I saw the bats start to drop.


    I fall onto my ass not knowing what to do. I felt the still warm blood of the dead bats washing onto my fingers. I look behind me to see the body of one of the bats lying there. I scramble behind it and use it as cover from the assault. The bats hit the bats body and made a squishy noise with a pinch of cracking ribs.


    I decided to try and leak some mana into the blood and try to draw it into me. A screen popped in front of me. It told me that I could use the blood of fallen opponents to fuel my mana needs. The skill is called blood siphon. I began to draw on the blood of the bat but then realized that a bat grabbed its dead comrade to take away my cover.The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.


    Right before the bat got out of my range I slashed the bats wing off. This left me with one injured bat and two more flying bats. I stabbed the injured bat in the chest killing it then I slit its belly open to let blood pour onto me so I could absorb it. I had maybe fifteen to twenty seconds to absorb blood giving me about ten percent of my mana. I threw the body off of me and made two more aura slashes killing the other two bats.


    I walk around to each bat looting them and absorbing their blood. My skill level of blood siphon went to level three from level one since I absorbed a blood that is higher level than my own. I even managed to level up to level six. I felt a flood of an irony flavor. A window popped up gving me a very exciting skill

    I went around the entire cavern soaking up the blood till the corpses were dry like husks. I decided that I shouldn''t go any further for today. I walk to the maggot den and absorb all the blood from the dead maggots and their eggs. Once that was done I walked out of the dungeon to the farm and decided to walk to the resting area and sleep after hanging my armor on the wall. I noticed Jack was gone then went to sleep on the couch.

    I have a new novel in mind and its goals are much more concreate in my mind than this novels goals ever was. I have been away from writing for too long and sadly I feel like ive lost all direction with this novel. Im sorry to say that i have to ax this novel so I can focus on the new one. The new one has more detail and better explanations. I feel like the writing style can almost be considered different from this novel''s.
