《Worlds within world》
Chapter 1 : A new start
¡°Carefully, place the mud on the stones, make sure to smooth it out while you¡¯re at it¡±, a slow voice spoke calmly, waiting for newborn baby to watch as she demonstrated how to create a mud brick.
The owner of the voice was a young girl, about six-years old by normal standards. She had rather short black hair, black eyes, and tanned skin with rather clear skin. What wasn¡¯t normal was the part where she was holding the newborn by his neck. Not only did she seem to have much more strength then what her figure depicts, she also seemed to lack basic knowledge about holding infants.
Like, maybe not hold them in a way where the slightest twitch will send them back to the void? Or at least if you¡¯re going to hold that way, use two hands.
One hand patting the mud brick and the other grabbing and dangling a infant in the air isn¡¯t something that normal people do.
Or, at least that¡¯s the message Will wanted to convey, it was basically, STOP HOLDING ME LIKE A KITTEN!
It¡¯s not like he has a part of his skin that someone can hold and dangle him from. Rather, the last thing he remembered was himself walking to school and then Truck-san showed up.
Who was promptly followed by Train-san, Car-kun, and two Van-sans. It was as if someone REALLY wanted him dead. Of course another reason could be it was just rush hour. But that wasn¡¯t important.
What was important was how he ended up in this situation in the first place.
While it may seem that he was reincarnated into another body that had recently died, it actually wasn¡¯t the case. In fact, from the moment he opened his eyes, after popping out, to his current situation, it hasn¡¯t even been an hour.
Apparently, in this world, humans are way more tougher than their Earth counterparts. The creatures and such might also be part of it.
Still, it doesn¡¯t mean that someone can grab him by his neck and dangle him in the air, he literally just revived!
Inwardly wanting to scream, but being unable to, as that small hand was still hanging around his neck, he settled for just suffering in silence.
Luckily, for some reason, he was able to understand every word that came out of the girl¡¯s mouth, even though it sounded nothing like English. In fact, he suspected that it was more of an asian language with all the tones being mixed in.
¡°Do you understand, Will? After patting it, you must let it dry from a few days in the sun. Also, make sure to move it whenever it rains. Otherwise, you¡¯ll have to redo it from scratch.¡±, the girl continued to talk to the newborn, as if he could understand her.
While in his case it was true, usually no matter how tough a race is, they should not have language built in during their development. That¡¯s of course excluding several unique species. Rather, it excludes almost all intelligent lifeforms, mainly races like humanity.
¡°Shui-er! Come over here! Being your little brother with you!¡±, a woman''s voice came from within the house nearby where the little girl, Shui-er, sat.
The house was nothing special, just a common brown wooden house, mainly built using what looks like logs stacked on top of each other. With the roof being made of angled, flat wooden boards. There also were what seemed like wooden shutters, the kind where you opened and closed to have air go through the house, along with the mosquitoes and other such insects.
¡°Coming!¡±, Shui-er, as she was called, yelled back to the house. At the same time, her loud and rather high pitched voice also smashed into Will¡¯s poor little ears, as she had turned to the side to yell back.
Wondering if it would affect his dignity if he started crying like a normal baby, Will was brought back towards the house by Shui-er, who still to this point, held him by his neck.
You have to wonder where that strength was coming from, while he wasn¡¯t technically fat, holding something like a baby does require a lot more strength then what people usually think.
So a tiny girl like her, who didn¡¯t seem like she could even hurt a fly, made things look rather weird. Plus, even while walking, for some reason, she held him like he was some kind of shield. Her hand that was grabbing his neck was extended outwards, while the other casually dangled by her side. In other words, she still didn¡¯t bother to use two hands to hold a baby, preferring to use only one hand for some reason.
Pushing open the "door", a wooden thing that seemed like it was ¡°locked¡± by a bar behind the door, Shui-er walked inside the house.Did you know this story is from Royal Road? Read the official version for free and support the author.
The interior wasn¡¯t any different from the outside, with the inside being a light brown color. Paint doesn¡¯t seem to have been invented in this world, nor electricity, seeing that there were candle like objects sitting around the room. There were the usual rooms, like a kitchen, presumably the room to the left, where a stack of firewood sat. The living room was the room he was in, seeing the wooden table and chairs. Then by process of elimination, the room to the right was probably where the voice came from, and likely the only bedroom in the house.
So then was he supposed to sleep with his entire family in one room? That doesn¡¯t seem safe seeing that he might get crushed by someone if they as much as turned in their sleep. Thinking about random things, Will the ¡°shield¡± was moved into the room to the right.
A woman, seemingly in her early 20¡¯s was laying on the bed in the room. Her dark black eyes widened at the way her daughter was holding her new baby. Though she then seemed to think that it really wasn¡¯t a big of a deal, as she didn¡¯t say anything about it. In fact, other than her looking somewhat tired, she seemed like a decent looking college student. Decent, because for one, Will was guessing that she was his mother, and also because he was corrupted by anime and manga. Now, her virtually flat chest, her long, yet silky looking black hair, and her somewhat pale white skin held no power over him. He had seen so many women that were way more flawless that they were like an image on paper or a screen. They had become his never-reaching goal in life, something that he could see but never touch.
Of course, reality would never beat fantasy, that¡¯s why they call it fantasy after all, it¡¯s all imaginary.
¡°Now, now, Shui-er, be a good girl and hand over my little baby.¡±, the woman spoke to Shui-er while at the same time stretching out her hands. At least she bothered to use both hands, unlike a certain daughter of hers.
Shut-er complied and promptly tossed Will out into her mother¡¯s waiting hands. Clearly she had yet to learn the correct manner to handle infants, Will thought as he felt the world spin around him. Then he was in his new mother¡¯s hands, who easily grabbed him out of the air.
¡°No, bad Shui-er! You can¡¯t just toss your little brother like that! He doesn¡¯t have anything to cover himself! You can only do that once he has been clothed properly!¡±, her mother scolded her. It was at this point that Will realized two things, one apparently common sense is hereditary, and two, he apparently was buck naked outside while being dangled by his neck.
All of a sudden, he wished that his new family was living far, far away from other people.
¡°Now, be a good girl and grab some more water from the well, it doesn¡¯t seem like there is enough for us to use in washing and cooking. I¡¯m gonna take care of little Will and get him into his baby clothes.¡±, her mother threw out a few chores for her to do while getting out of her bed, slipping on the straw-looking version of slippers.
Shui-er quickly ran out the house, as Will was being played with like a doll by his new mother.
¡°Now Will, say hi! I¡¯m your mommy!¡±, as soon as Shui-er left the house, his mother seemed to have taken off her mask. She begins making the usual baby noises while speaking in that tone most doting parents had whenever they are with their child. ¡°I felt sad that Shui-er grew up so fast! It was like a week ago that I held her in my arms, she was barely the size of a pillow! But now, I got you! Yes, who¡¯s the cutest wittle baby ever?¡±
While making faces and poking his tummy, ¡°mommy¡± seemed to be in her own little world. Also, what¡¯s with the comment about last week? Isn¡¯t it usually something like yesterday? Maybe a cultural difference?
Will was then ¡°helped¡± into his baby clothes by his mother, who continued to baby-talk him right up until Shui-er came back.
''Save me!'' Will held both his little arms out when he saw Shui-er come into the room, wiggling as much as his little limbs would allow, which only made him seem like he was waving his two little hands at her.
¡°Wow, mommy, look he seems to like me more! I think he wants me to hold him again!¡±, elated Shui-er reached out a hand to grab Will from her mother.
Seeing her children already bonding with each other, ¡°mommy¡± let her daughter take her newborn son from her hands. Which she did easily by - grabbing Will by the neck.
''Oh come on! Not this again!'' Will looked out the ¡°windows¡±, as the bright morning rays came in the hole that it misrepresents, trying to make as little movements as possible. He really didn¡¯t want something snapping as Shui-er held him. That also reminded him, how long did it take for baby necks to stiffen?
¡°Shui-er, did you finish everything I told you to take care of?¡±, while watching the two, her mother seemed to have remembered about the chores.
¡°Yep! I got a bunch of buckets of water and then poured them all into the water holder! Daddy also told me that he¡¯ll be back soon, something about a trap, I didn¡¯t really listen.¡±, smiling, Shui-er told her mother happily. Meanwhile, Will went from being a shield to a doll, as she held him close to the front of her chest. At least, she used both hands, but only because it seemed she wanted both hands around his neck. It looked like she was trying to choke him to death from far away, which might be the case. Will wasn¡¯t entirely sure what ran through a little girl¡¯s head, but it probably wasn¡¯t much.
Somehow, he felt like he just insulted himself as well.
¡°Well done, Shui-er! Good girl!¡±, her mother said as she hugged her, though Shui-er¡¯s hands only ended up wrapping around her mother¡¯s legs. Somehow she also seemed to have forgotten that she was still holding Will, as he face-planted on his mother¡¯s legs.
He figured this was as good a time as any to start crying, otherwise someone else might come along and decide it would be fun to toss the baby high up into the air or something.
¡°WWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!¡±, luckily it seemed that his new body is equip with a nice set of lungs on them. They were probably insured by anti-baby-death inc, likely because there were far too many cases with bad lungs and such that it had to become insured by the company.
¡°No! Bad Will!`` Shui-er didn¡¯t even let him cry for a few seconds before using one of her hands to block his mouth. She used her other hand to block his throat¡
''Good-bye cruel world¡.'' Was Will¡¯s last thoughts as his vision faded into the darkness.
Chapter 2:
Will awoke to the sound of soft voices. While his eyes stayed closed, he thought about his entire life. It was pretty bad for the first day, but afterwards it has to get better right? After all he already visited hell, depending on how he viewed it anyways.
¡°Alright, Shui-er, when Will wakes up, you have to say you¡¯re sorry to him. Got it? That was a close one, if he wasn¡¯t our child, I doubt anyone else would have survived that.¡±, going by the voice, it seemed that ¡°mommy¡± was rather chill with his whole near death experience. ¡°But then again, he did get all the good traits from us, right dear?¡±
¡°That¡¯s right, I would be disappointed if a child of ours had died simply because he couldn¡¯t take in air from a crushed windpipe. By the way, sweetie, next time don¡¯t hold Will like that. It seems your mother rubbed off some bad habits on you.¡±, a low, deep voice followed, who Will guessed belonged to his new father. ¡°Also, dear, I keep reminding you, children are not little kittens! You can¡¯t just hold them like that! I know that''s how you were raised, but come on! Where do you see that stretchy part of his skin? He doesn¡¯t even have fur!¡± As his father spoke, he got progressively louder, until the last part was almost a yell.
¡°Oh? Did you just backtalk ME, dear? Why, I never realized that you grew a pair, and recently too! Is it because of the children? The same ones that YOU ARE SCREAMING IN FRONT OF?!¡±, now ¡°mommy¡¯s¡± voice got even louder then father¡¯s. This was an argument that he shouldn¡¯t be a part of, so Will tried to go back to sleep.
Unfortunately, it seemed that someone noticed that he was awake, though Will couldn¡¯t figure out how. It wasn¡¯t like he moved or anything, rather he couldn¡¯t move for some reason. Odd.
¡°Look! Daddy! Mommy! Will¡¯s awake!`` Shui-er''s voice seemed to be the loudest of all, as she could be heard over the yelling. Her words seemed to have poured a bucket of cold water over the inferno that was about to explode, as both sides stopped yelling. Followed by movements from across the room as two pairs of footsteps moved closer to Will.
It seemed that Shui-er was watching over him, while their parents were... arguing? Fighting? He wasn¡¯t sure which, but now he understood why he had such a nice set of lungs, it''s called genetics.
As much as he wanted to continue to play dead, both literally and figuratively, in his case, he couldn¡¯t at this point.
Opening his eyes, the first thing he noticed was the colors, or rather the lack of, as only three colors now make up his world. White, black, and a mixture of the two, creating varying shades of grey.
''Did I just become color-blind?'' Inwardly panicking, Will tried to calm himself down. Problem is, it became too hard in this case, as the next scene made his eyes widen and his racing heart to beat even faster.
Shui-er, the little girl who stared down on him, was like a beacon of light. It was as if she was in the middle of a sci-fi concert or something, every shade of color imaginable floated around her. Back and forth they moved creating a dance-like effect to Will¡¯s eyes, all the while changing hues like some kind of screensaver.
As she continued to look down, on what Will guessed was his baby crib, the colors continued to encircle her, their bright colors creating a huge contrast between the black and white world around them.
Then his new parents also peered over to look at him, creating another splash of colors. They were even brighter and more colorful than their daughter¡¯s. He felt like he would have eye problems from staring at all those flashy colors - oh wait.
¡°Dear, I think he might have¡¡±, the man, who appeared to be a college student, around his early 20s, looked at his wife with his black eyes as he spoke. Oddly enough he also had long black hair, very similar to his wife¡¯s, other than the fact that his was rolled up into a bun on top of his head. Hair aside, his appearance was like one of those teen fashion models back from Earth, though without all the makeup and other crap. Again, that¡¯s by normal standards. To describe his new father accurately by Will''s own standards, he was the semi-ugly/plain side character you see in those romance mangas. The one that somehow in the end gets one of the girls that the main character throws away for his so-called ¡°true love¡±.
Which might be why he seemed to be rather scared of his wife, as Will recalled someone talking about growing a pair. A pair of what you might ask? Well, it¡¯s something most men don¡¯t have in the real world back on Earth. Guys are just as pathetic as girls back there, in fact girls might have been even better than guys. Seeing how they had to deal with the agony of childbirth while the dude sits there twiddling his thumb.
Pity the old ways of survival of the fittest didn¡¯t stick around long enough to take out the gene for stupidity. As, quite literally, dumbasses were everywhere, case in point, smoking. It kills you, and yet for some god-knows-what reason, people still smoke. Same for all drugs and such, they know it¡¯s terrible for you, causes massive problems, and yet, here they are, still doing it! It¡¯s like people back on Earth are so stupid, they haven¡¯t even realized that they are slowly killing themselves!Support the creativity of authors by visiting the original site for this novel and more.
Hell, the ones who say that it¡¯s to get rid of stress? Bullshit! If they have so much stress that they choose to slowly kill themselves, they are better off killing themselves right there and then. That way, they don¡¯t have to suffer as much with all that so-called stress, and go off quickly, though painlessly would depend on the method¡
Oh, and they won¡¯t need to worry about lowering the population, after all without them, it¡¯s not like the world will end or something. Each and every life is worthless in the grand scheme of things, in fact, if humanity was wiped from the face of the Earth. There could be another race, probably an even better one, which would then slowly evolve and take over what humans managed to mess up so nicely. Or you know, if higher beings DIDN¡¯T try to mess with the evolution of a species, Earth might, you know, actually progress towards the correct path.
Since, apparently intelligent thought was like, so awesome, that they could blow Earth up so many times and still be stupid enough to make more. What were they planning? An invasion of another world or something? They suck so much at ¡°intelligent¡± thought, that they couldn''t even stop people from slowly killing both themselves and others. Forget traveling to other planets to take over, they should have started fixing whatever went through their ¡°amazing¡± brains. Because if destruction is all they can do, then intelligent thought really isn¡¯t worth much.
Such thoughts rapidly ran through Will¡¯s head as he looked at his new blindingly colorful family. Then again, since it had nothing to do with him anymore, and he couldn¡¯t change anything even if he wanted to. He figured it was better to forget the problem back on Earth entirely. The fact that he died from several greenhouse gas causing vehicles might also had something to do with his choice. But hey! It¡¯s another world, where hopefully they wouldn''t completely cause the entire world to become something similar to Earth.
Something that dumb couldn''t happen in two separate worlds¡.right?
¡°Hey there little guy! I¡¯m your daddy! Say hi!¡±, Will¡¯s colorful father started talking to him first, making Will stare at him. It seemed that she didn¡¯t want to lose his attention, as Shui-er decided now was a good time to grab him, with her hands still aiming for his little neck.
You had to wonder at this point if she just enjoyed holding him like that. At least, now she¡¯s using both hands unlike in the beginning. Though in this situation, it wasn¡¯t really something Will was thankful for.
¡°Wait, Shui-er! You can¡¯t pick him up yet! Will still hasn¡¯t fully molted!¡±, her mother who was right next to her, quickly grabbed both her hands. At the same time, her father somehow got his body between her and Will¡¯s baby crib.
¡°Sweetie, why don¡¯t you wait until next week? Let Will go through all his molting first, alright? Daddy can play with you instead! We can go outside and catch things together, or if you want we could go swim in the river.¡±, her father quickly began trying to persuade her from grabbing Will, while still keeping himself between the two.
Her mother also helped by guiding her towards the door outside the house as her husband talked, forcing Shui-er to follow along as her hands were still in her mother¡¯s grip.
¡°Finnnne! Then Will,¡±, Shui-er peered past her father¡¯s legs, and spoke at Will¡¯s crib, ¡°I¡¯ll be back when you finished molting! Don¡¯t worry, it only takes a few days! I went through it last week!¡±
Turning around, she then led her relieved parents out the door, this time her hands pulling on her mother;s hand while her father followed behind.
¡°Will! We¡¯ll be back in a few days, be a good boy, ok? The molting would be over before you know it!¡±, with those last words, Will¡¯s father shut the door to the house. Throwing a curtain of darkness over the room.
''Molting?''
At first Will thought that they were kidding, molting? What was he, a bug? But when the distinct sound of the door closing echoed throughout the house, it finally dawned to him why he couldn¡¯t move.
In most insects¡¯ case, as they molted they would rip themselves out of their former shell, and emerge showing off all their beautiful glory. So does that mean he couldn¡¯t move because he was in his shell? That didn¡¯t sound good, what was he gonna do for the time period he needed to wait? Rather, what was he gonna eat?
The empty house looked even darker than it did before. The windows seemed to have been closed as he slept, as no light could be seen coming from them. The only light that came into the room came from the area right underneath the front door, the same place where his new family had just left through. In other words, he was literally in the dark about his current situation.
Questions swirled in his head, things like, people molt in this world? Moving to what he could do to survive the molting process. Continuing on to even simpler questions like, won¡¯t he starve to death? There wasn¡¯t a trace of food anywhere in the entire house, at least from what he could recall. The so-called kitchen only had firewood in it, there wasn¡¯t things like meat hanging from the walls or anything.
Currently, the biggest concern for Will is getting something to eat. He distinctly remembered that molting had a huge energy cost, where was he gonna get his energy from?
Will tried moving again, and found that not only could he not move even a finger, there seemed to be some kind of force making him sleepy.
Figuring that he might as well go to sleep to conserve energy, he didn¡¯t resist the allure of sleep and passed out in his baby crib.
The moment he did, it was like there was some unheard signal that fired within him. Will¡¯s entire body seemed to be breathing in something from the atmosphere as he slept. If he was awake at that point, he would have noticed that the world he saw before was changing. Bits and pieces of light, shining in various colors were appearing from within the black and white world. It was as if the new colors were the offspring of the two, melded together somehow to produce brand new colors.
Those colors then floated over to his unconscious body, where they were then quickly absorbed into it. This colorful scene continued on as Will lay there peacefully dreaming about sheeps and whatnot.
Chapter 3:
Will woke up after what seemed like a few hours of sleep. Shaking off a layer of weird black stuff that was on his skin, he sat up in his crib.
Now that he looked closely, it couldn¡¯t really be called a crib, more of a wooden box that had some kind of white-ish cloth as a bed sheet. Luckily, it seemed that it was rather clean, with only a few parts of the cloth seemingly to be covered in the same black colored stuff that was on his skin. Although there was no blanket, Will didn¡¯t mind too much, as the temperature wasn''t cold at all. Rather it felt really comfortable, like there was some kind of intelligent air conditioning in the house that knew the exact temperature that was perfect for him.
A quick look around threw the concept out of his head, after all if they don¡¯t even have sinks and a working indoor toilet. Something like an A.C seemed quite out there.
Seriously though, running water really would be good right about now. It then hit him, Will realized a few inconsistencies with his situation. For starters, he sat up. A newborn infant just sat up all by himself, with no help, within hours of his birth.
That didn¡¯t seem normal, along with the black stuff all over his body, something he guessed as the remains of his molting? However it doesn¡¯t even resemble anything close to his skin at all. Babies have really nice skin, well after a few days post-birth anyways, once they got rid of all the red and wrinkly parts.
Of course, there still was the question of what exactly had happened to his body that he needed to figure out, but that answer would likely come from his parents. So then, the next course of action is ignoring everything and finding them!
Pushing on the bed with his strangely new powered up body, Will was able to easily stand up in his crib. From there it was a simple matter of jumping out of the wooden box and - that''s not happening.
Will looked down from his crib, the floor seemed as if it was miles down, and he never liked heights. Feeling light-headed, Will sat back down, deciding that it would be better to wait for someone to show up rather than commit suicide and jump down from his crib.
As though she was listening in on his thoughts, someone barged right into the house, slamming the door wide open, allowing the morning sunlight in to warm the dark house.
¡°Will! Mommy¡¯s here!¡±, a shrill and happy voice yelled out, as Will¡¯s new ¡°mommy¡± came bursting into the room from outside. Her hands spread wide apart, ready to hug him.
Before he could even move, his body was being pressed against a board, oh wait, his ¡°mommy¡±. She had scooped him out of his crib and held him close to her chest, though it might have been better if she had a pillow or something. After all, that flatness could break delicate parts on his little body just by being in contact with it.
''Uh, this is why big breasts are what all men want. It¡¯s instincts that they pick up when they were a baby whenever their mothers held them. It seems men don''t want their poor children to suffer what they had to endure as a child.''
Luckily, Will¡¯s ¡°mommy¡± couldn¡¯t understand his thoughts, as it was in a completely different language, else she might have done something terrible to her new child.
¡°Will¡¯s awake? Hey, let me hold him too! Look, daddy, he grew bigger!¡±, Shui-er voice came next, as she came into the room while dragging her father by the hand. ¡°Daddy, didn¡¯t you say Will would be the same size as me? Why does he seem smaller?¡±This story is posted elsewhere by the author. Help them out by reading the authentic version.
Her father also seemed to look a bit confused, as he walked over to his wife and stared more closely at Will. Then as if he recognized something, turned his gaze over to his wife who continued to happily squish Will to her board of a chest.
¡°Dear, let Shui-er hold Will for a sec, can we talk for a bit? I think we need to speak about something really important.¡±, while speaking Will¡¯s father grabbed him from his ¡°mommy¡± and dropped him into Shui-er¡¯s waiting arms. Who immediately held him in her traditional double neck hold.
¡°What are you talking about? Did something happen dear?¡±, her eyes seemed as if they were readyfor a fight as ¡°mommy¡± replied back. ¡°I wander what got into you? Well whatever, I think I know what you¡¯re about to ask, and yes I did it. Happy?¡± Lookingvery pleased with herself, ¡°mommy¡± smiled at her husband, who returned back her look with an expression of ¡°WTF?¡±
¡°Dear, you do know that his molting only happens once in his lifetime right? Even then, it¡¯s only because he¡¯s our child! Like Shui-er, they both were able to easily break into the Qi Condensation realm because of the molting! So why did you prematurely stop his molting session? Sure it was by a few hours, so it isn¡¯t a big deal, but he would have been in the third stage by now!¡±, Will¡¯s father seemed somewhat angry and bewildered as he talked.
To which his wife replied, ¡°Because if he got into the third stage like Shui-er, he wouldn¡¯t be cute and cuddly anymore! Besides, with their abilities, it might be better for them to start from scratch, as they would get the entire experience.¡± Though her latter part of the argument seemed legit, somehow Will felt that the former part was the real reason for her actions. Of course, he still couldn¡¯t understand what was going on.
''Qi Condensation? Stage? What is that? Can it be eaten? Also, what did his ¡°mommy¡± do? Something about premature stopping? Did he not get all the DNA from his father or something?''
''Weird, the first thing any reincarnated person gets is a cheat. Meanwhile, I get the crazy family. The F is Qi Condensation? Who cares what she did, where is my super rare magic? Where¡¯s the cheat skill? I¡¯ll even settle for a badass pet or something. Someone just tell me, where the hell is my cheat?!''
Seeming to be bored of the talk between her parents, Shui-er held up Will above her head. Obviously, it was still using the two-hand-hold-neck method, so Will started to feel a bit scared. This felt like the noose around a death row inmate, rather then a big sister holding her precious little baby brother scene. Dangling in the air, Will¡¯s feet was just about the same height as her neck, watching as Shui-er continued to do whatever she was doing.
Until she shook him up and down.
¡°Look mommy! Will¡¯s eyes got all white and stuff!¡±, smiling Shui-er continued to shake Will as his head started flopping back and forth with her motions.
¡°No! Bad Shui-er! Never shake your brother! His body still isn¡¯t as strong as yours yet! Plus, it seems that he got more of my traits, you take more after your father.¡±, her mother quickly got Shui-er to stop while rescuing Will from another close encounter with death.
¡°But she picked up all your bad habits.¡±, her father refuted back to her words.
¡°What bad habits? Picking up any children, you grab them by the neck! That¡¯s how you do it! Rather it¡¯s because of your traits that she thinks it¡¯s ok to try to get Will to fly! He isn''t some bird that hatched and can fly within days!¡±
¡°ME? You¡¯re the one teaching her all the moves! My traits have nothing to do with this! Besides, Will takes after your traits! You don¡¯t see him trying to do the same thing back to Shui-er do you?¡±
¡°Because I haven¡¯t taught him how to yet!¡±
¡°Wait, you were seriously going to? I thought we already agreed that Will is to be brought up correctly! I¡¯m already having trouble with getting Shui-er to act normal!¡±
¡°Hell no! What she is doing IS normal! You need to stop your stupid idea about making her ¡°normal¡±!¡±
¡°You just don¡¯t get it! You -¡±
While this was going on, they seemed to have forgotten that Shui-er and Will was still in the room with them. Not to mention that after rescuing Will from Shui-er¡¯s clutches, ¡°mommy¡± seemed to have taken Will as some kind of stress ball.
With every sentence, the pressure from her hands was getting tighter and tighter around his body.
So Will cried.
He cried so hard that day, he kind of wondered where all that liquid was coming from.
It was also sad he felt relieved that no one wanted to choke him to stop his crying. At least he could cry his heart out right? Sliver-lining in all this pain.
Yay.
Chapter 4:
It had been a month since his birth, and Will had gotten used to his quirky family. The weird things they say and the odd actions they do has become fairly normal to him.
He has also somehow gotten used to being carried around by his neck, and the random fights his parents seem to have constantly. Either they got married by force or they showed their love for each other through angry yelling. Regardless of the real reason, Will felt that he better not go near that landmine. Not unless he wanted a say in someone else¡¯s relationship. Which, considering his past experience from two lives of zero, he doubts he could say anything.
Fortunately there wasn¡¯t some kind of a blue stat screen in front of him. Chances are his relationship level might even be below 0, it could be over -9000!
Adjusting to his new body was the hardest. While looking like a little shota, he has the physical ability of a grown man. Seriously though, there must have been a mix up in the genes or something. He had bright blue hair, blue eyes, and pale skin. When Will first saw his actual appearance looking back from a pond. He thought that God had accidently used too much white skin tone color and out of anger, threw down the blue paint bucket next to him. That was the only logical explanation for how Will had such a drastic difference in appearance compared to his family.
That or a green hat might show up later, but seeing his "mommy" henpeck his father... Will kind of doubt that was the case.
Currently, judging only by outside appearance, Will looked like any 3 or 4 year old child. Still cute and cuddly, but slightly bigger than when he was first born. He was much smaller compared to Shui-er, seemingly able to easily pass as her adopted little brother. Shui-er on the other hand, already looked 6 when he saw her and then seemed to have grown a few more inches a month later.
Of course Shui-er, like Will, had went through the same molting process he had. The only difference was, she went from newborn baby to 6 years old, while Will had his molting apparently halted by ¡°mommy¡±. So it ended up with Will several inches shorter than Shui-er even though they had less then two weeks in age difference. A fact that Will found really surprising when he found out. Cause you know¡ where was he kept while Shui-er was being born? A second¡ cough¡ container?
Another interesting thing was ever since Will''s molting, he had the weirdest feeling that there was a source of energy spinning within himself. At first he didn¡¯t even notice it, as he had more important issues at hand to deal with. But once Will got time away from his family and sat in his little crib to think, he finally felt it. This was also when it occurred to him that he could see colors again!
After feeling the same sensation for a month. Will had finally concluded that it was a real sensation and not just an imaginary hope that he wished for.
He had acquired his mana!
While it was somewhat late in arriving, at least it was working properly. After trying to examine it closely, Will felt that his inner mana seemed to be slowly absorbing the outside mana somehow. Then it was filtered out inside his stomach to create more of his own personal mana.
Unfortunately, it seemed that it took a long period of time to filter the outside mana, so in terms of actual increase, there wasn¡¯t really much progress. Not to mention that Will didn''t recall having anything in his stomach that acted as a filter...
As such, Will had taken things into his own tiny hands and set out to increase the growth of his mana - by following the valuable knowledge given by his forefathers of anime and manga.
Which is why he was hanging out in the forest that was near his house. Accompanied by his father and Shui-er as the afternoon sun beamed down on them. They''re all staring down at a little white bunny stuck inside of a trap. Well, to be more precise, the trap was just a pitfall that Will got his father to dig. Also, there wasn''t any real reason an animal would go in it because there weren¡¯t even any bait in it.
At the time, when his father had finished digging out the pitfall, Will had asked him for a suitable bait, like a carrot. To which his father replied, ¡°What¡¯s a carrot?¡±
After that conversation, Will just slapped some fern-looking plants on top of the hole and hoped a dumb animal would wander in.
The white bunny he¡¯s staring at is the aforementioned dumb animal.
Through a month of practice, Will could easily play out his role as a newborn infant. He ¡°learned¡± to speak within days of his molting period, and walked as easily as breathing the moment he broke out of the black stuff. He also "mastered" how to make random things out of mud and such with Shui-er, and became proficient in calling everyone by their names.Enjoying this book? ¡°Pepe! Look! We got a little bunny!¡±
¡°Right you are Will! But again, you¡¯re supposed to call me ¡°daddy¡±, like Shui-er. Come on, da-ddy.¡±, his father again tried to get Will to change his pronunciation.
¡°Big sissy! What is Pepe talking about? I don¡¯t think I¡¯m saying it wrong.¡± Will tilted his head and spoke to his sister, who was crouching down as she stared at the bunny.
¡°Don¡¯t worry Will! You¡¯re cute the way you are! But daddy, this bunny is shivering. Does it need fire or something?`` Shui-er pointed at the trapped animal in the hole.
The hole in question was only about a meter tall, but considering the size of the bunny was about that of a hand. There was no real way it could get out of the man-made hole. As such, it could only stare helplessly at the three humans standing above it.
The small amount of light that filtered through the thick canopy above them illuminated the small mammal, making the white fur seemingly glow with light.
Of course, for Will the odd part was that it seemed to be just some random bunny - white fur version. Where was the noob horned bunny? They always were in the first map that the main characters go to. Unless he was living in a place that was even weaker than the beginner¡¯s town?
Will could only sadly conclude that he was living in the farthest rural village of all. In fact, now that he thinks about it, Will only ever saw his family. There was literally no one else living anywhere near them.
During the day, usually his parents would go out for a while and then return in an hour or so. Will had always wondered where they went and what they did, as there were only forests around. The only spot that was not overrun by vegetation and trees was the clearing that their house was built on.
He spent his days living with his new family and making random things with Shui-er, who seemed to have some weird obsession with building things out of mud. Other than sleeping, he had wasted the rest of the time messing around with his sister.
There were a few changes compared to his old life that were different. For one, it seems that there was no need for him to eat food. Apparently Will could if he wanted to, but any food he eats would just be converted into¡ something. ¡°Mommy¡± never really explained it completely, she simply told him that there was no need to eat.
Oddly enough, his parents believe that there was no need to be called by their actual names when they were the only ones around. As such, they wanted their children to call them by their titles, like ¡°mommy¡± and ¡°daddy¡±.
Therefore, Will had decided to call them names that he felt would better suit his current form, ¡°meme¡± and ¡°pepe¡±. Shut-er, as the older sister, had been dubbed ¡°big sissy¡±.
As a result of Will having too much time on his hands, he decided to catch a pet to raise. To be honest, he just wanted a test subject to practice his mana on. He figured that a small animal would make a nice lab rat.
Which is where the trap came in.
Thinking back, Will felt that he really used his time unwisely, instead of increasing his mana like any normal protagonist, it was spent making mud bricks.
Of course he obviously tried the usual spells commonly found in fantasy. After he had concluded his mana was real, Will ran outside excitedly, pointed his palm towards a nearby tree, and shouted loudly, ¡°[FIREBALL]!¡±
After that, Will never tried to perform any spells again, especially near the house. ¡°Mommy¡± thought that he was yelling for help and came out with a meat cleaver in her hand. Where it came from was a mystery because after that incident Will never saw it again.
Will had taken time to look over what happened and concluded that it was because he didn¡¯t have enough mana to cast [Fireball]. In hindsight, Will felt that he was lucky it didn¡¯t work, else he would¡¯ve caused a massive wildfire. So Will had gone through the tropes in various media to find a method to increase mana without having to empty out his mana pool.
He remembered there was one method that needed him to capture a monster and make it his minion. This would result in increased mana pool for both sides, a side-effect of their shared mana pool.
This tactic was then dubbed - ¡°Monster Catcher¡±.
His first minion would be this bunny in front of him.
While missing the horn and basically useless - unless used as a source of emergency food supply, Will felt that it¡¯s what a beginner should start with.
He was like, level 0? Level 1? Best to start from the bottom, he didn¡¯t want to trigger any flags afterall.
Pointing at the trapped animal, Will asked his father, ¡°Pepe! Can you grab that bunny? I want to keep him!¡± The lab rat part was left out - he felt that it would be better to not say anything about that.
His father compiled, grabbing the shivering bunny out of the hole with a hand. Handing it over to Will, who held it with a death grip on its neck, he spoke, ¡°Will, you know that these things eat stuff right? We don¡¯t have to eat, so you need to be responsible and take care of it¡¯s needs alright? Only if you follow these rules can you keep it.¡±
¡°Me understand Pepe! Me be a good boy and take care of Professor Bun-Bun!¡±
¡°Professor Bun-Bun?¡± Will¡¯s father looked confused for a second, until it seemed to dawn on him that Will had already named the little bunny. ¡°Err...Will, why are you speaking in second person? Or was it third?¡±
¡°Me no idea what Pepe is saying! Me to go home now!¡± Turning around, Will ran off with Professor Bun-Bun in his hands, eager to start his mana increase training.
Chapter 5 :
It¡¯s been almost another half month since Will picked up the bunny, whom he had named Professor Bun-Bun after a certain ¡°stacked¡± teacher¡
Obviously there was no chance of anything happening, since Professor Bun-Bun was certainly male. Will had read enough biology books to know what he was talking about. Plus he couldn¡¯t see any err¡ milk dispensers, so by gender elimination, it could only be male. Besides, female rabbits needed a hell lot of those things, with them always having massive litters of newborns and all.
Back in his past life, Will used to have a habit, something he called ¡°Milking¡±. In fact, he used to ¡°Milk¡± himself three times a day.. everyday.
Now he put the time he used to ¡°Milk¡± himself into trying to put a minion contract on Professor Bun-Bun. Everyday in the morning, Will would pour as much of his mana into Professor Bun-Bun¡¯s body as possible. This would repeat two more times, during ¡°lunch¡± and ¡°dinner¡±. Obviously, it wasn¡¯t that he started to eat things, it was more of a way to tell time. Though, those were the actual times when Will fed Professor Bun-Bun.
He would wander outside of the house to find some random grass patch nearby, pull them out, and move them into the house. There he just tosses the pile on the ground of the ¡°living room¡±, then while Professor Bun-Bun was eating, he would channel his mana into its body.
In the beginning, he had tried to just pour the mana straight out from his hands over Professor Bun-Bun, sadly it seemed that his mana was so weak that the outside mana just dissipates it. Whenever Will tries, it felt like he was moving around some kind of liquid within his body using only his willpower. Then once it gets out of his body, the liquid turns into gas and just mixes with the rest of the air. After that, Will just couldn''t control it anymore, he couldn''t even retrieve it back.
Which was why, when Shui-er came into the house the tenth day after Will received Professor Bun-Bun, she saw him sitting on the floor with both hands on its fluffy white fur.
¡°Will, what are you doing?¡±
Blinking out of his trance-like state, Will looked at Shui-er.
¡°Me? I¡¯m not doing anything at all!¡± Lying badly, Will quickly tried to find a way to explain his actions. No MC would ever tell other people how to get power ups, otherwise, wouldn¡¯t they end up as the MC instead? Well, that¡¯s usually how the thought process goes anyways, Will thought differently.
¡°Big Sissy! You want to try this out? I can do the same thing I¡¯m doing for Professor Bun-Bun to you too!¡± Will looked at his sister with big innocent eyes, trying to look as harmless as possible. Secretly, he was wondering if human test subjects would work better. Humans are also minions right? Depending on whose perspective it was, everything is technically a monster. It just depended on if he could even connect their mana pool together or not, that was Will¡¯s main goal in the first place. Increasing his mana pool - not gaining more minions. That part was just a bonus.
Shui-er walked closer, ¡°Sure I guess? But what exactly are you doing? Professor Bun-Bun looks weird¡ is it getting cold again?¡±
She squatted down next to Will and pointed at Professor Bun-Bun with a finger.
''Cold?'' Will looked over at the little bunny that only a few seconds ago was eating happily, ignoring Will and his wandering hands.
Now, it was twitching and wiggling on the ground, seemingly in pain. At the same time, Will felt as if he had grown a new hand on his body. It was a strange sensation, something that was both part tingling and part itchy. He felt light-headed and weak, like he had just ran a marathon in the blazing sun. Then his vision was engulfed by darkness.
----------------------------
Shui-er POV
A soft *Thump* echoed near Shui-er as she watched Professor Bun-Bun convulse on the ground. Looking around she almost jumped out of her skin when she saw Will collapsed on the ground.
''Mommy and daddy are still out, what do I do?''
As if heaven had heard her wish, It was at that exact moment that she heard her father¡¯s voice coming from outside the house, ¡°Shui-er! Sweetie! I¡¯m back! Look, we even got some nice blue colored clay too! You can make your bricks - now with color!¡±
¡°Daddy! Mommy! Something is wrong with Will! Come quick!¡± Shui-er scrambled to get to the door, yelling the entire time.
Before she even reached the front door, it was smashed open by mommy, who looked both very angry and concerned at the same time.
¡°Who messed with my children? Huh? Who wants to die that bad? We moved here because of those pieces of - ¡° Daddy, who was right behind Mommy, quickly covered up her mouth with a hand.
Realizing that she said too much, Mommy marched over to the fallen Will and examined him without touching, fearing that she might make his condition worse.
¡°Dear, why does Will seem to have regressed back to Qi Condensation Stage 1?¡±Find this and other great novels on the author''s preferred platform. Support original creators!
¡°Don¡¯t ask me, rather, why is the mortal rabbit now at Qi Condensation Stage 1?¡± Daddy was examining Professor Bun-Bun as he replied.
Mommy looked at Professor Bun-Bun who was lying still on the ground, seeming exhausted from the ordeal it had just experienced.
The soft raising and fall of its body was the only indicator that it was still alive.
¡°Sweetie, can you tell us what happened that caused Will to collapse?¡± Her father tried to get the entire story.
¡°I came into the house after making sure that my new bricks were drying and Will was...playing with Professor Bun-Bun? So I sat down near him and then he just fell over!¡±
¡°Playing? What was he doing exactly?¡± Her father tried to get her to clarify.
¡°I¡¯m not sure, he looked like he was just petting Professor Bun-Bun. Then he just suddenly fell over after we talked a bit.¡± Shui-er was also wondering what her little, cute, and somewhat weird brother was doing at the time.
Though it didn¡¯t seem like he was just petting the bunny, he seemed more in a trance then anything else while whatever he was doing was going on.
¡°I see, well let¡¯s just wait for him to wake up then. The main problem is that it seems that he somehow transferred his cultivation to the rabbit.¡± Her Mommy seemed confused as she spoke, ¡°is that even possible? I don¡¯t remember any kind of technique that allows transfers of cultivation from the practitioner to others. The only thing close to that are the demonic techniques and those do the exact opposite¡¡±
Daddy put a hand on Mommy¡¯s back, trying to reassure her, ¡°Once Will wakes up we can just ask him what he did, and from there reverse the process. Don¡¯t worry dear, there won¡¯t be a problem.¡±
¡°I hope so.¡± Mommy commented at that and both of them stood there watching Will as he lay on the ground.
Shui-er copied her parents and also just stared at Will as he stayed on the ground, unaware of his surroundings.
¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª-
Will felt like there was someone trying to cram a bunch of knowledge into his head all at once, it resembled the time he tried to ¡°Milk¡± himself 6 times in an hour, just that the pain was in the head rather than another spot¡
''Wait, the ending of the One Piece manga? Happy Sugar Life anime? I never read or watched any of these! Sure, I was a fan, but not such a hardcore fan that I created a time machine just to see the ones that hasn¡¯t been made yet! I think¡.''
Opening his eyes, three pairs of black eyes stared right back at him.
¡°Hi Meme! And Pepe! And Big Sissy! Um...why are you all staring at me? And why does my body hurt so much?¡± Will looked around him, for some reason he decided to take a nap on the rock hard wooden floor, though that does explain the joint pain.
The stares were another matter.
¡°Will, is there pain anywhere? Feeling tired? Anything seem out of place?¡± His father started asking weird questions while the females just continued to stare at him. Will was getting slightly creeped out by the stares of his sister and ¡°mommy¡±. It was as if they were expecting him to suddenly do tricks or something.
¡°Will?¡± His father¡¯s voice snapped him out of his daze. Oh well, he might as well check his body to see if anything was out of place.
After a thorough check across his entire body, other than the aching bones, Will didn¡¯t think there was anything different from before he passed out. In fact, he felt a little stronger, as if there was an additional source of mana that was connected to him. Not physically, more of a feeling that he felt in his mind.
That experience of growing a new limb came to mind, Will recalled it was right before he blacked out. He could feel that the connection was still there, akin to a string, so he figured it would be a good idea to check what it really was.
Since it was like a string, Will tried tugging mentally at the connection. It was almost like telling a limb to make sudden movements - just this one only existed in his head.
His action did cause an effect, as Professor Bun-Bun, who was still laying on the ground unnoticed, abruptly twitched. Then it jumped up like someone had just jabbed it with a taser.
An odd look on his face, Will tugged at his intangible mana source again.
This time Professor Bun-Bun shot out a small ball of fire from its mouth. It hit the wooden floor and left a small black burn mark on the brown wood directly in front of the little bunny.
''OK...THAT is new. Didn¡¯t know rabbits can use [Flamethrower]. Then again, this world is new to me...maybe this is normal?''
¡°Dear, what did I just see?¡± ¡°Mommy¡± looked bewildered at what she just witnessed. ¡°I could have sworn, a Qi Condensation Stage 1 Demon Beast just shot out a fire technique. But didn¡¯t you have to at least be Stage 5 and above to release your Qi outside the body?¡±
¡°Yes, that¡¯s what is supposed to be true for everything that cultivates¡¡± Will¡¯s father now seemed to be looking at Professor Bun-Bun in a new light.
Meanwhile, Will felt a vague sense of happiness through the link to Professor Bun-Bun.
It was like a scenario where someone had just eaten a massive amount of food in a single sitting. Unaware that he had already finished digesting the parts he could, and wandered off elsewhere.
Had he tried to find a bathroom to take care of the rest, he would have realized that there wasn''t one within a 10 miles radius. So while he thought that he didn¡¯t need to go, when he discovered one, he figured he might as well.
And then the toilet got stuck, but he was relieved of all the extra baggage he had unknowingly carried around.
Yea that kind of happiness.
Will looked at the burn mark with a strange look, it appears that was the parts that wasn¡¯t ¡°digested¡± over the 10 days he had been ¡°feeding¡± Professor Bun-Bun. The same parts that Professor Bun-Bun had finally managed to get rid of.
It felt weird to be part of the things that were gotten rid of, but then again¡
Maybe it felt right?
¡°Will, tell daddy, how did you manage to split your cultivation and give it to the rabbit? This is really important, you need to tell me every single step. Don¡¯t leave out anything.¡± His father returned the topic back on track, seeming intent on finding how Will managed to do the so-called impossible.
''Cultivation? What¡¯s that?''
Will did the head tilt that all cute, cuddly children do when they didn¡¯t understand what was being said.
¡°Pepe, what¡¯s cultivation? Are you talking about mana?¡±
¡°Mana? What¡¯s that? I¡¯m talking about Qi Cultivation.¡±
¡°¡°Huh?¡±¡±
Will felt like he had a headache coming up.
Chapter 6:
Seeming to understand that he was confused, Will¡¯s father started to talk about cultivation.
¡°Ok Will, there is an energy that we call Qi that¡¯s everywhere in this world. If a creature absorbs this energy, change it into their own, and then use it to refine their body. That is when they have taken their first step on the road of cultivation.¡±
Pausing he looked at Will, ¡°That is where you are right now. Once they have absorbed enough Qi into their body, they can then use it to build their foundations. This is the next level of cultivation, called Foundation Establishment. After that, they condense the foundation they have built into a core, also known as the Golden Core Stage. Anything past that, when you get to that level, daddy will help you. Anyways, each step is achieved by gathering and refining the outside Qi into the body and storing it. That is the most important part, gathering, refining, and finally using the energy you have purified to change your body bit by bit.¡±
Turning to look at Professor Bun-Bun, who went back to munching on the grass pile Will had brought in. Will¡¯s father continued, ¡°Now in Shui-er and your case, due to our unique heritage, you children had a chance to skip the step of feeling and condensing your Dantain, or energy core, as you are born with one. Through a period of time special to our kind, you were able to rapidly absorb the outside Qi in the area and improve your bodies for a short period of time.¡±
''So I¡¯m guessing that was the nap time I had while molting? Then what were those bright lights of colors I saw? Magic? ¡. Hallucination?''
¡°Now this is the part that your mother and I are worried about. Everything in the world can, in some way or another, cultivate Qi and have a chance to be able to ascend to immortality.¡± Will¡¯s father paused again, staring at Professor Bun-Bun with a confused look on his face. ¡°The thing is, regardless of their choices, everyone has to cultivate step by step. This includes those from the Devil Path, who take the cultivation from others, as in their case their entire cultivation is BASED on the stolen cultivation of others. They then have to turn that stolen cultivation into their own through¡ various acts. Still they also started by gathering Qi to condense a Dantain in the beginning. It¡¯s only after that they can then start to steal other people''s cultivation.¡±
Pointing at the small white bunny as it devoured the remaining grass with relish, ¡°The problem is, all the examples I told you just now was either a person¡¯s cultivation came from himself working hard or stolen from others. Your situation is the exact opposite of this, you have somehow transferred YOUR cultivation into a mortal bunny that has never cultivated in its entire lifetime! In fact, it didn¡¯t even have a Dantain to store the Qi energy! Somehow you managed to achieve what was believed to be a fable into reality! This act of transferring your own refined cultivation into others, rather than stealing it away, is said to be impossible by modern cultivators.¡±
Will tilted his head as he looked at his father.
''Huh? How does that work? You can steal from others easily, from what I gather. But is it impossible to give to others? Where¡¯s the logic in that? I can take your hard earned work for myself, but I can¡¯t voluntarily give you my own hard earned efforts?''
He seemed to understand Will¡¯s cute head tilt, as his father explained, ¡°Think about it this way Will, imagine if Qi was mud. Your Qi would be like a keyhole made up of that mud and your body would be the key that fits that specific keyhole. Every time you took in the outside Qi, you would then mold it to fit your key. Are you following so far? For those who have molded the outside Qi into a keyhole, it would be much easier for someone else to take that same keyhole and change it a bit more into one that could fit their key. That¡¯s how the Devil Path cultivators are able to steal other¡¯s cultivation. However what you are doing is changing your very key into someone else¡¯s and then dropping the keyhole that was molded by your key into another¡¯s keyhole. Forget that it shouldn¡¯t be possible, the fact of the matter is that your key is UNIQUE to only you! It shouldn¡¯t be able to change its form! Not to mention that there is the problem of where to place the keyhole, when there isn¡¯t even a key!¡±
Will stared at Professor Bun-Bun as he digested what his father had just said.
''So am I the wise old man? Or the blond? Also something doesn''t sound right about what he just said... hmmm I just can''t put my finger on it.''
Recalling a meme he saw before about locks and keys and how a wise man once said stopped his train of thoughts.
¡°Now Will you understand how important this is? You have done something that shouldn¡¯t be possible and at the same time, created a technique that those old monsters would fight and kill for.¡± ¡°Mommy¡± added in her two cents, ¡°Remember, even if you figure out how to return yourself back to normal, you must never, ever, teach others how to do this!¡±
She grabbed his little hands and stared in his eyes, trying to get the importance of her words into her infant child.
Sadly, Will only ever had one kind of common sense (Earth¡¯s), but was an excellent liar!
Nodding his head, Will made sure to vocalize his promise to ¡°mommy¡±, ¡°Of course! Me got it mommy! Never tell anyone about this!¡±
¡°Good boy!¡±
As she pat his head with her hand, Will privately thought that actions, rather than words, should be trusted more.
After all, aren¡¯t all promises meant to be broken?
Looking as if they have been relieved of the majority of their worries, his parents shooed him off to his little crib to sleep. Considering that Will seems to be in perfect health, despite his loss of cultivation, Will¡¯s parents decided that it would be better for him to rest up and worry about regaining his Qi back the next day.
Padding over to his crib with his little feet, Will made sure to drag Professor Bun-Bun along with him as he left. The bunny had passed out again after stuffing itself with a full belly. It had basically slept through the entire fiasco, with nothing to worry it¡¯s tiny brain other than its next meal time. Will bet that it only bothered to wake up just to eat some more before getting right back to sleep.
Sometimes Will wondered if he could live such a simple life like a bunny.
Eat, sleep, and on occasions, mate with some random female, before going through the entire cycle all over again.
It would be such a bliss¡ shit existence. Afterall, he couldn¡¯t keep the mate around... yea that was definitely the main reason for it being a shit life. This has no relation to the fact that he would be a dumb as a goldfish, and couldn¡¯t think ahead longer then a week. Or the fact that he would have to eat his own shit, pun intended, just to get enough nutrients to survive. This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it.
Tossing the bunny into his little crib, Will climbed right in and started patting the bunny¡¯s body for changes.
Since, you know, when you spit fire, there¡¯s gotta be something lighting that up.
''At least in the monster encyclopedia I read back on Earth, even dragons had to have some kind of flint and gas in their body to create those flames...Then again, in that other fantasy version, they basically attributed everything to "it¡¯s because of magic".''
Sadly for Will, he wasn¡¯t able to find any kind of mutations or anything unusual on Professor Bun-Bun¡¯s body. There were literally no changes what-so-ever, which then led him thinking about what his father said earlier.
''I¡¯m guessing magic and Qi in this world are equivalent? I bet it is just like how people measure things differently, like feets and meters, basically the same thing with the only difference being just the amount and such. Man, almost freaked me out there, when he was like - mana? WTF is that?''
Feeling that today had enough weird things happening, compared to the rest of his relatively new and boring life. Will tossed the sleeping bunny out the crib and threw the blanket over himself and went to sleep.
He figured anything that showed up later was the future self''s problem, that dude always gets the rewards from his hard work and doesn¡¯t ever do anything for current self. Screw him.
------------------------------------------------------
¡°Mommy¡± POV
She sat with her husband on the bed, watching as her daughter slept on, dreaming of all the bricks in the world or such cute nonsense.
¡°Dear, I feel like we should really go back soon and deal with all that crap happening back at the sect. I''ve finished giving birth so that there wouldn¡¯t be any chance of the little ones being harmed this time around.¡±
Seeming to agree with her words, her husband nodded his head, ¡°Agreed, but this time we are getting revenge for those bastards trying to hunt us down when we were at our weakest. Fucking humans always group together like some kind of insects swarm and jump us 10000 to 1! I doubt they understand the concept of a fair fight. Hell, I doubt they even know what the concept of a face is. They attacked a worn down victorious male and a pregnant female, what the hell were they doing before? Sitting there like a bunch of hyenas trying to reap all the reward once we had weakened ourselves.¡±
She gave him a look, ¡°Dear, I don¡¯t need to remind you why I was extremely weak? You REALLY tried hard didn¡¯t you?¡±
He looked away from her gaze, ¡°Look, I was young and naive, how would I have known that those weak humans would have called for that much backup? Plus, it was mating season¡¡±
¡°That happened two months ago.¡±
Her husband suddenly stood up, and began walking towards the door, ¡°Oh wait! Did I suddenly hear the sounds of footsteps? I¡¯m gonna go check it out!¡±
Signing, she muttered, ¡°Typically males¡do the deed and then claim it was all due to mating season. First of all - you¡¯re an avian, your mating season has already passed!¡±
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
After a strangely peaceful sleep, Will woke up with the feeling of weight on his chest. Somehow, Professor Bun-Bun had managed to leap back into the crib overnight and slept on his chest. How the bunny managed that, he¡¯ll never know, but guessing from what his father spoke about the day before. It was likely the work of this ¡°Qi¡± thing that he had never heard about.
''I mean come on! Qi? Did they run out of words and just used two letters that were totally never seen before? Though, from what I can tell, only I perceive what they speak as English¡ so maybe a translation error? I bet it was supposed to be "manna" or something like that and whatever translation function I got made it ¡°Qi¡±. Kinda weird but then again¡''
Looking at the still asleep bunny on his chest, Will felt that life could have thrown even weirder curveballs if it wanted to.
Patting the sleeping figure, Will tried to get it to wake up, after all he couldn¡¯t get off his little bed if it didn¡¯t get off him first.
¡°Professor Bun-Bun? Be a good wittle bunny and get up. Otherwise I might forget to feed you one day and put you in a heated pot¡¡±
Subtly threatening the innocent creature with a cheerful voice, Will was able to get the little ball of fur up and off him.
Pushing himself off the bed and basically falling to the floor, Will stood right back up and wandered out the room, with a little bunny trailing behind him.
¡°Oh, you¡¯re awake Will! Good, good, sit down now and try to regain your cultivation! Your mother and I will watch and help out as much as we can.¡±
His parents were already awake, and seemed to have been waiting for him to get up before immediately moving to the issue at hand.
''Oh right, I forgot they were freaking out about this whole mana transferring thing¡ I mean, our mana pools are connected now, not really much to seperate here.''
Feeling the continuous connection between his and Professor Bun-Bun¡¯s mana pool, Will could feel that in terms of increase in his mana pool, it had accelerated just slightly. However that slight change made him believe that he was on the right path to massively increasing his mana pool.
Originally, Professor Bun-Bun was just a little bunny with no trace of mana. By connecting their mana pools together, they both gained a slight increase in the growth of their mana pool. Even though it felt like a .0001% increase in growth, and his overall mana was split between the two. In the long run, that small increase would allow him to hopefully continuously increase his mana pool indefinitely. Plus there was the added bonus of having minions¡
Even if it was a harmless to-be rabbit.
¡°Alright Will, you can start trying to regain back your cultivation, remember, just do what you did before and this time try to take back what you gave to the rabbit.¡± His father tried to pep talk him again. Unfortunately, it didn¡¯t really help. Will still can''t really understand why they couldn¡¯t share mana in the first place, so he didn¡¯t care too much about his mana being split.
However, seeing the anticipating faces of his parents, Will felt that he might as well try to restore his mana back to its original state. It couldn¡¯t be too hard right? After all, he managed to split it in the first place.
Feeling the mental connection again, Will tried to focus on the thought of regaining back the mana he gave through it, it kinda felt right doing it this way. His alternative involved sacrificing Professor Bun-Bun as a tribute and hoping the split off mana would return on it¡¯s own.
He decided that trying to ¡°communicate¡± with the connection between their mana pools was a better idea¡
As Will stood still and closed his eyes, concentrating hard on this idea, he could feel the stares from his parents on him.
Soon, Will felt his mana return back to his mana pool from Professor Bun-Bun''s. There wasn''t anything remotely close to making him feel like this was a difficult thing to do. It was as simple as pouring water into a cup.
The entire process took less than a few seconds and before his parent''s eyes, Will and Professor Bun-Bun next to him had undergone changes in their mana pool level. As Will¡¯s increased back to how it was originally, he could feel Professor Bun-Bun¡¯s fall back to empty.
¡°It appears to be a success! Ok Will, be a good boy, and from now on never try to give your cultivation out to others! This cannot be known to anyone other than us, ok?¡±
Trying her best to get Will to understand the importance of her words, Will¡¯s mother even made sure to stare directly in his eyes as she spoke.
Making sure to look her right back in the eyes, Will lied with a perfectly composed expression, ¡°Me understand Meme! Me no show other people this!¡±
''I mean, it¡¯s not really a lie, I did say ¡°people¡±. Plus¡''
Taking a quick look at Professor Bun-Bun, who had just sat on the ground next to him as he retrieved back his mana. Completely not caring that it had just lost its entire (given) "cultivation".
Will gently tugged at the mental connection between their mana pools again, a bright smile on his face.
Who said he had to cut the connection?
Chapter 7:
It had been an entire year since that incident with his mana pool splitting, not that there was any kind of calendar. Will ended up just made each month as 30 days, 12 months in the year, and however many hours there were in a day (he didn¡¯t bother counting as he had better things to do). Over the course of this period Will had learned more about the world.
One of those things being that apparently you are never too old to be held by your neck. Shui-er seemed to believe that whenever she is interacting with her little brother, the tighter she gripped his neck, the closer they are to each other.
Will wasn¡¯t entirely sure which parent put that stupid idea into her head, but when he grew up, he was going to beat the everlasting shit out of one of them.
There were other new changes that occurred over the course of year. Will have picked up more minions...cough, pets. They were named, Blacky, a tiny ant queen, whom Will found while gathering munchies for Professor Bun-Bun. It seemed that there exists ants in this world, kinda weird for a mana filled place, but hey, there¡¯s also Professor Bun-Bun. Will rescued her from another ant colony invasion, right after she lost the war and was about to become food for her enemies.
A few months later, Will found the bargain pair after wandering a bit further away from the house then usual.
First is Fluffy, an injured blue-furred kitty, whom Will helped nurse back to health by feeding it grass, and no, he still doesn¡¯t understand why it ate only grass and vegetables. At least he didn¡¯t have to roast Professor Bun-Bun¡¯s siblings. Fluffy had small odd shallow holes where blood was trickling from when Will found him. Luckily, the wounds scabbed over pretty quickly after Will fed it some more grass.
And then there is Birdy, a small red feathered bird, who Will found right next to the injured Fluffy. It seemed that Birdy had been clawed by another animal and was bleeding out heavily at the time. Will had to bandage the wounds with woven grass patches, as there was literally nothing else around, before also feeding it plants to recover. At least Birdy was somewhat bird-like and ate flowers, which Will was somewhat sure is part of their diet¡ right?
At least those lessons he learned in basket weaving come in handy, something that he never thought would ever be used in his entire life.
Still he had wondered what kind of deranged animal would attack two small little ones and leave them hurting and bleeding on the ground. The day he found whoever was responsible would be the day he would have an actual meal. Preferably roasted, but he wasn¡¯t picky.
Strangely enough, for some reason Fluffy and Birdy treated each other like mortal enemies¡
The three new additions to the little family wasn¡¯t the biggest change. Will had been experimenting with the connection between mana pools, and had discovered an amazing secret! Using the information and data he gathered from his new minions, it could be concluded that¡ he still had no idea WTF is going on.
Basically, whenever Will connected other creature¡¯s mana pool to him, it somehow connected everything within together. In other words, when he connects his mana pool to say, Professor Bun-Bun¡¯s, they aren¡¯t actually sharing the mana within the pools; they are sharing the pools themselves.
So taking the first time Will had ¡°recovered¡± his mana from Professor Bun-Bun, it wasn¡¯t really mana that he took back, but the mana pool that was storing the mana. That little bit of information came with a bunch of new questions, like how regardless of the way he splits the mana pool between those connected to him, they would all still have growth in their personal mana pool?
Will had messed with this concept once when he absorbed everyone¡¯s mana pool into his own body, and then he watched as his little minion¡¯s bodies continue on creating their lost mana pool from zero like nothing happened.
In fact, rather then mana pool, as it would invoke a sense of an actual pool, Will felt that it would be more akin to mana sand. Tiny bits of hollow sand that each hold a small amount of mana within. Regardless of how much sand there is, there is always new sand being ¡°created¡± that can hold mana within their bodies.
Sadly, Will discovered that it¡¯s not really the fastest in terms of actual increase, as even if they all gained say, a handful of mana sand daily. It really doesn¡¯t change much for him at all. The creation of each mana sand takes far too long, about an hour or so. That¡¯s to say, about 24 mana sands a day (not that he counted) for each creature connected to Will, including himself.
Problem is, Will still haven¡¯t determined exactly how his body, and those of his minion¡¯s, creates the mana sand in the first place. He get that his body somehow filtered the outside mana through his stomach. But for the life of him, he couldn¡¯t find what was doing the filtering.
Recently, his parents seemed extremely sad whenever they looked at Will.
At first Will thought it might have been because whenever he wasn''t experimenting with mana, he stuffed them all into Professor Bun-Bun. But after thinking for a bit, he threw the thought away.
Will was smart and made sure to keep his mana pool level at the point when he had first ¡°gained¡± it back all those months ago. This basically ensured there was nothing suspicious for his parents to find out.
He figured that they were probably sad because he was growing up. Now that he was able to stop Shui-er from holding him, mainly due to the fact that he still didn¡¯t want to die yet. Not when things were looking so good for this new life and his future.
Reminiscing of all the events that had transpired over the course of the year was basically a way for him to ignore the glaring reality in front of him.If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
Will stood in the living room with a sleepy Shui-er next to him, who seemed to be still groggy from waking up suddenly. On the table, that was never used his entire short life, was a piece of parchment that glowed in the faint light streaming through the open door of the house. It appears to be made from dried tree bark or something of the sort, and was rather old as it had bits of the corners ripped and worn out.
On the parchment there was two parts to it, one side filled with little drawings and arrows pointing to the next one. For the other side, there was a definite asian-like writing style that strongly resemble Japanese characters
It all started when Will woke up this morning, snuggled up with his minions around him, inside of his little crib bed. Usually around this time, Will would be able to hear the sounds of his ¡°mommy¡± trying to make Shui-er get up from bed. However, today there were no sounds of Shui-er saying to give her a few minutes or the sounds of ¡°mommy¡¯s¡± voice trying to wake up her daughter.
Feeling that it was too quiet, Will jumped out from his little crib bed, or more accurately, barely land on his feet from his little hop down. Holding on to Professor Bun-Bun in his hands with Blacky clinging on his shoulder, Will walked out into the living room and found the front door wide open and his parent nowhere to be seen. The only thing left was the parchment on the table.
So Will immediately went off to wake up his sister from her room, and dragged her over to the table. It was during this time when Will tried to ignore reality, since people don¡¯t just randomly disappear! And if they did, they should have said something or even screamed if the zombies got them.
They wouldn''t just go poof and not make any noise.
Sighing, Will knew he had no choice, so Will tried to go through the little pictures first. Going by what he knows, there are no knowledge related to their writing and reading style within his little head. So by process of elimination the pictures should be for him and Shui-er to understand.
The first image was two stickman that were holding ¡°hands¡±, and behind them was a badly drawn house. Following the arrows, the next image was another two stickman, this time they seemed to be drawn smaller in scale, or it could just be the bad art. In the background, Will could see some weirdly shaped creatures that seemed to be making a circle around a bed-like object.
Or it could just have been a really badly made box with poles.
''Are they trying to say that we are going to be sacrificed in our beds and that they are going to watch it happen?''
Following that picture, the next one was another stickman, but this time it was holding some sort of long cross in its hand. The previous smaller stickman show up again along with the sacrificing creatures.
''A church person is coming to stop the sacrifice ritual? And they don¡¯t want to be caught? I can¡¯t understand these shitty pictures!''
Then the final image was of a group of stickman, all holding that long-ass cross in their hands. They were surrounding the small stickmen and the weird creatures, and in this one, the background appeared to be clouds. But it could just as likely be fog¡
''So, the - what I¡¯m guessing as a priest - shows up. Then somehow we all go into heaven? Or some sort of fog place and¡ you know what I¡¯ll just see if I can read this crap.''
Switching over to the other side of the parchment, Will tried to read what it¡¯s saying.
''Let¡¯s see¡ this first symbol sorta looks like a snake. So, Shui-er? It starts with a ¡®S¡¯. Probably right. This next one looks like a line...so it goes Shui-er line?''
Frustrated about his inability to read the language, Will looked over at Shui-er, ¡°Big Sissy! Can you read what this says? Me no understand what it is trying to tell us...Big Sissy? BIG SISSY!¡±
Yelling at his dozing off sister, Will tried to wake her up. After a few minutes of shaking, yelling, and talking, Will concluded that his ¡°mommy¡± must have been some kind of magician. There was no way to wake Shui-er up at all.
¡°BOOOOM!!¡±
That was when the giant shockwave exploded outside.

Daddy POV
¡°Dear, are you sure it''s fine that we just let the sect take care of them for now? You know how Will might have messed up his body somehow and be unable to cultivate past Qi Condensation Stage 2! What if he gets bullied by the other children in the sect?¡± ¡°Mommy¡± seemed really stressed out as they both flew through the air. They were moving faster than anything below them as they flew past the dense forest of tangled trees and creatures underneath.
¡°Look, if we were to try to take care of our mission and the kids at the same time, it would end up with us not being able to do either completely through. Besides, Will¡¯s a big boy, when I was his age; I was already pushed off a cliff!¡±
He then felt an intense stare from his wife, ¡°Dear, we still don¡¯t know exactly how they would turn out. So if you lose your goddamn mind and tried tossing MY children off a cliff, I¡¯m gonna. RIP. YOU. APART. OK?¡±
Attempting to make his best smile at his scary, scary wife, he tried to calm her down, ¡°Dear, look we just need to take care of this mission. It shouldn¡¯t take a month at most, the only reason we couldn¡¯t complete it earlier was because we kept returning to ensure that nothing happened to the children - ¡°
¡°KKKKAAAABBBOOOOM¡±
A mansion sized hole appeared on the ground, some 500-meters below.
A dark voice that seemed like it crawled out of hell vibrated over the gap, ¡°Oh? Dear, did you just imply that our children are a BURDEN? That THEY were what kept us from observing the stupid humans and their movements? If you had the capacity to blame the children, why don¡¯t you use your USELESS-ASSED wings and fly around?¡±
Trying to stop his body from trembling, he looked at the she-devil in front of him, and thought bitterly.
''If I had known she was a psycho, even mating season compulsions wouldn¡¯t have made me do what I did¡. Now it''s too late for me¡ Hopefully she doesn¡¯t flip out and kill me. Need to calm her down; this might be the separation anxiety I heard about that frequently occurs in females.''
¡°Dear, you misunderstood! I meant that I love our adorable children SO much that I don¡¯t want us to keep separating while doing our mission! The faster we finish this the more time we can spend as a family! Right? You want that don''t you?¡±
''And the more time I can make sure they don¡¯t end up like you¡ ''
Almost like a switch was flipped, ¡°mommy¡± went right back to worried mother mode again.
¡°Sorry, you¡¯re right. I shouldn¡¯t have snapped at you like that. I¡¯m just anxious that our children wouldn¡¯t know what¡¯s going on and get scared about where we are.¡±
''Well, maybe if you listened to me and just told them what¡¯s going on you wouldn¡¯t feel that way. But you were like, ¡°Oh no! I can¡¯t bear seeing them cry as I depart, so we need to leave before they wake up!¡± Hell, not even I could understand those shit drawings and I knew exactly what is happening. I still can''t make out what you were trying to tell them through those things. Good thing I wrote a note for whoever is coming to pick up the children about their habits and stuff.''
Looking as if she suddenly remembered something, ¡°mommy¡± asked, ¡°By the way dear, do you know what¡¯s up with Will¡¯s rabbit? The last time I checked it, it had grown from mortal up to Qi Condensation Stage 2. But I don¡¯t remember ever passing any kind of cultivation method to any of them...how is it cultivating exactly?¡±
Imaging the white rabbit in his head, he felt that it¡¯s probably the first ever mortal animal that gained the ability to cultivate without knowing how. The way it did would need to be looked into later.
As soon as this stupid mission was completed.
Chapter 8:
The shockwave was so strong that Will thought the Hulk probably missed his exit out of a plane and landed outside instead. The dust blown from the shock hurled themselves into the air and into the inside of house.
Coughing, Will made sure that Professor Bun-Bun was in his hands and that Blacky was still on his shoulders, before checking to ensure that his sister didn¡¯t freak out and run for the hills. She didn¡¯t. But, she was still trying to fall asleep standing still. In fact, Will felt that the only reason Shui-er ever bothering to fully wake up is to make sure she can bake those bricks of hers everyday in the afternoon heat. Since she had no digestion or food needs, she could literally sleep until she¡¯s dead.
Glancing over her shoulder, Will watched as Fluffy and Birdy jerk awake from the noise. The quick movements from his crib informed him that they were heading his way. Normally they would fight in the mornings but whenever something happens they would always return to Will¡¯s side.
It was kinda odd how well trained they were, especially when Will had never trained them to do any of those things¡
After gathering the rest of his little family, Will grabbed his sister with a hand, dropping Professor Bun-Bun on the ground with the other. Pulling her arm from behind him, Will walked outside towards the explosion, since after all even if he ran; there really wasn¡¯t anywhere he could run to. His minions trailed behind him, moving by his side.
In front of the house was a large crater, several meters wide, with a tall man standing in the center. The falling pieces of grass and dirt blew around him, making him look like he just did a superhero landing.
He had a wild appearance, and a unique hairstyle, as if he was about to become a super saiyan. This was blended with his black eyes, hair, and clothes. This dude seemed to like black so much, he even have a black long sword on his back. It was angled in a way that he could draw it from over his shoulders if needed. The only thing that contrasts this image was that he looks like a skinny looking pale-faced asian person¡
¡°Hello children, I¡¯m here to pick you up! Please follow me.¡± The moment the man saw the two and the small group of little animals behind them, he immediately tried to kidnap them!
Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation.
Looking at the man, Will felt this dude is suspicious as hell! Who just shows up in the middle of nowhere and tries to grab the first children he sees? If he isn¡¯t some kind of child-smuggler or slave owner, Will is a fool.
Giving the man his best innocent eyes ever, Will calmly walked over to him. Gathering the mana pool from the rest of his minions into his body, Will felt a large increase in his physical strength as his mana pool widen.
The man look surprise for a second, but didn¡¯t have time to register the information before Will had punched him right in the nuts.
A stunned look surfaced on his face, as the man looked down at the little shota in front of him. Grabbing his hurting eggs, he kneeled down slowly on the ground.
Which was when Will punched him right in the nose, he made sure to tilt the punch upwards to give the man the most amount of damage possible.
That punch was followed by a kick again at the groin, and then followed by another punch to the back of the man¡¯s head.
''That¡¯s right bitch! I know kung-fu, just for this moment! I watched enough anime to know that you NEVER talk to the enemy. While they talk crap, you take that chance to take them out. Talking is for AFTER they had the crap beat out of them!''
Remembering all the retarded villains who talked to the heroes when they were winning, Will made sure to never follow their footsteps.
¡°STOP! STOP! I¡¯m here to escort you to the sect! If I even harm a hair on your body, I would definitely be dead, but if you keep attacking that spot I¡¯m really gonna fight it out with you!¡±
Ignoring the man¡¯s yelling and nonsense, Will quickly grabbed a nearby brick and proceeded to whack the man on the back of the neck.
''If I recall, to knock someone out, you hit the medulla? I think it was that part of the spine that¡¯s connected to the skull¡''
If Will had tried this on a normal person, that dude would be DEAD, so dead he wouldn¡¯t be any deader. But fortunately, the man was a cultivator!
¡°ALRIGHT! GIVE ME THAT!¡± Moving quickly that Will only saw a blur, before he knew it the brick was gone from his hand. The man stood towering in front of him, looking at the little shota that probably had a screw loose somewhere.
¡°Look, your parents told me to get you and your sister! I have a written message they sent me a couple of days ago! Didn¡¯t they tell you anything?¡± Holding out a parchment that was covered in very familiar asian-like characters, the man tried showing it to Will.
''Huh? He ISN¡¯T A KIDNAPPER? Oh crap¡ ''
Just then a thought occurred to Will, he quickly ran back into the house and grabbed the parchment that his parents left. Bringing it over to the man, Will give it to him, ¡°Here! Meme and Pepe left this! Me thought you were a meanie! So me attacked you! Sorry!¡± Smiling innocently at the man, Will tried to sweep everything that happened under the rug.
-------------------------------
Man¡¯s POV
Looking at the innocent smile on Will¡¯s face and then reading through the note, he felt that the amount of sect points he would earn for this stupid mission was totally not worth it!
Plus¡
"Shui-er is my daughter; she is an adorable little girl who loves to make bricks. She has a bit of a sleeping problem but you¡¯ll probably not have too many issues with that. My son Will is much gentler. He loves small animals and has some that he keeps as pets. He''s basically harmless and if you give him his space he¡¯ll probably not get out of control too much. Tell them that we are returning in a month or so. Also, if they start crying, play games with them or something."
He could already feel that this trip would suck big time for him.
Chapter 9:
After what seemed like hours, the man took his eyes off the note Will¡¯s parents wrote and rubbed his forehead, his face trying to hold back a look of regret and failing miserably.
''Did I hit him too hard? But looking at this giant crater here, I think he should have a really good body? Or maybe he just used magic to get here and this is just the spillover from the spell?''
Thinking about how he might be punished later, Will pretend everything that just occurred didn''t happen.
¡°Hi there Mr.Person! Me and Big Sissy are here! Me not sure what is happening - can you pwease explain it?¡± Making sure to throw in a few mispronounced words and widening his eyes are wide as he could; Will went all out to appear as harmless and cute as possible.
Still rubbing his forehead, the man looked at the small shota in front of him, before sighing and replying, ¡°Ok, it seems we had a bad start, let¡¯s try this again. My name is Huang Hei, I¡¯m here on the orders of your parents to pick you up and bring you to the sect. Do you have any questions so far?¡±
¡°What¡¯s a sect?¡± Tilting his head at an angle to the side, Will was unable to understand this new term that just randomly showed up out of nowhere.
''Is he really someone who Meme and Pepe asked get us? I thought he would bring us to the magical equivalent of a daycare of something. The hell is a sect? Anime and manga never had sects¡ they only had adventure''s guilds and stuff. Wait¡ ''
¡°It''s a place for people like us to gather, learn new skills, and cultivate. If you contribute to the sect you can get more benefits in return. Both of your parents are also a part of our Mountain Sect! They are also rather high in terms of authority, which is why they could make a Foundation Establishment Cultivator like me go all the way over here just to pick you guys up.¡± The last part was spoken with a bit of depression in it.
''Foundation Establishment? Oh right, that stupid way they measure mana¡ but wasn¡¯t it literally like the next level above the Qi Condensation Stage? Why does he seem to imply that Foundation Establishment is a big deal? And couldn''t he have just said he''ll bring us to the adventure''s guide? Stupid translation.''
¡°Hey-Hey! Is a Foundation Establishment person really that good? Me remember Pepe saying that they were right after Qi Condensation right? So you¡¯re just a little higher then Big Sissy and me!¡± Will felt that his name was too long and hard to pronounce, why couldn¡¯t it be like ¡°Aqua¡± or ¡°Darkness¡±. Nooo. It had to be Huang Hei, so he made a nickname.
¡°Wait what did you just call me?¡± "Hey-Hey" had a strange expression on his face, seemingly somewhere between the thoughts of ¡°Should I get angry¡± and ¡°Do I just ignore this?¡±
¡°Me think your name to hard to say, so me say Hey-Hey! Hey-Hey, you still haven¡¯t answered my question!¡±
¡°Before that, just copy me. Hu-Ang. H-Ei. Now you try.¡±
¡°Hey-Hey!¡±
Giving a look of defeat, Hey-Hey went back to rubbing his forehead. ¡°Alright, fine you win! Whatever. And yes, a Foundation Establishment is a big deal, only one in a hundred Qi Condensation Stage cultivator can reach it.¡± Pointing to himself he continues, ¡°That makes me the 1% that reached this stage, and at a really young age too! Today I¡¯m only 25 years old!¡±
Hey-Hey looked really proud when he said that. So Will felt that it was time that he learned some humility.
¡°WOW, Hey-Hey you so OLD! Me be sad when Hey-Hey goes bye-bye! When are you going bye-bye? Me can ask Big Sissy to make you a nice colorful brick!¡±
Coughing, Hey-Hey looks as if he was trying to cough out blood instead of saliva. Wheezing, he seems even worse then he did before his little proud moment.
¡°Fine, fine! I¡¯m not all that great ok? There are probably thousands of people running around the sect of a higher cultivation than me! Happy? I just wanted to look cool in front of you kids¡¡±
Big teardrops of sadness fell out of his eyes, Will looked at the skinny weak-looking person in front of him and felt that he might had said too much. Clearly this dude needed some serious psychological counseling if a little shota like him could cause him to cry this easily.
''It might be because he spent his entire life alone in a dark room or something? If his skin tone is anything to go by, this dude probably isn¡¯t used to the sun¡¯s rays at all. Well, let¡¯s just get going before he starts telling me his entire life story.''
Deciding that someone this sad couldn¡¯t possibly be an evil child-kidnapper. Will shook his sister again just for luck before leaving her there stand-sleeping and went into the house to pack all their things.
''Let¡¯s see¡ Blacky¡¯s unhatched eggs, Fluffy¡¯s fur, Birdy¡¯s feathers, Professor Bun-Bun¡¯s fur¡ some random bricks pieces for Big Sissy¡ her bed and blanket...my pillow and blanket...and some grass to feed my minions¡''
Throwing everything onto Shui-er bed, Will dragged it outside. It should be mentioned that Shui-er didn¡¯t sleep on their parent¡¯s bed with them; instead she insisted that she would sleep on the ground. So ¡°mommy¡± made what was basically a futon for her.
Will still wasn¡¯t sure how ¡°mommy¡± came up with this kind of design, but he figured it was likely just a freak combination of events that created something suspiciously resembling a replica of a futon¡ after all this clearly isn''t Japan. This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.
Or is it?
Straining his little body, Will dragged the futon over towards Hey-Hey, plopping it down as he panted for breath.
''Man I need to seriously work out¡ maybe later? Nah, I guess I just make use of some kind of magic to do all this stuff¡ I know! I¡¯m gonna first learn how to cast the levitate spell. This sect thing I¡¯m going to better at least know how to float things up - otherwise they¡¯re all quacks!''
¡°Hey-Hey! Me got all of our stuff! Now we can go!¡± Lifting his head up to see Hey-Hey¡¯s face, Will spoke to the depressed person in front of him.
¡°Sure... ¡°Signing deeply and wiping his eyes, Hey-Hey unsheathed his black sword from his back.
That action caused Will to react almost instinctively, as another punch tried to land directly on Hey-Hey¡¯s nuts.
This time it was blocked by a palm, ¡°Look! I¡¯m not trying to hurt you! Seriously, didn¡¯t your parent ever fly you guys around using a sword? Sheesh... ¡± Hey-Hey must have wised up after becoming depressed. He probably predicted that Will might try to punch him again, so his other hand was already in place to block another low blow.
¡°See? Nothing bad, I¡¯m just channeling my Qi into this sword so that it would expand and allow me to carry you guys with me.¡± As he spoke, before Will¡¯s eyes, the slim black long blade grew in both length and width in Hey-Hey¡¯s hand, until it grew longer by several meters and became wide enough for a normal King-sized bed to fit on.
''The long sword became a floating table?''
Possibly due to the difference in ratios, as the width had widened considerably compared to the length, the long sword now looks like a short and wide table...or to be nicer, a really dull and wide knife.
As Will was blankly looking at him, Hey-Hey causally let go of the ¡°table¡±, but instead of falling to the ground, it hovered in the air with the wide side facing up.
¡°Alright! Get on. The faster we finish this, the faster I can get something to make me forget everything that happened today.¡± Indicting for Will to step onto the floating blade, Hey-Hey even lowered the attitude down so that Will would have an easier time getting on it.
¡°Um...Hey-Hey...Are we just flying like this? No safety belts? Nothing I can hold on to in case you do a swan dive?¡±
¡°Huh? What¡¯s a safety belt?¡±
¡°Ok, never mind, I guess me and Big Sissy are going to wait here until Meme and Pepe returns. Have a good trip back to your sect!¡± Pulling the futon and his sister¡¯s hand, Will turned around and headed back towards the house.
''That explains the explosion; the moron probably doesn¡¯t even know what a brake is. If I get on that death-trap, I better have written my will beforehand¡''
¡°Hold up! Why are you not getting on? This is a very fast way to travel! Seriously! We can return within a few days at the latest!¡± Hey-Hey looked really panicked as he tried to advertise his so-called ¡°ride¡±.
Will turned around to face him, ¡°Hey-Hey, I just want to ask you one question; when you landed here in the beginning, how did you stop?¡±
¡°Um, I just landed¡ ¡°Seeming puzzled by such a weird question, Hey-Hey hesitantly responded.
¡°And that¡¯s why I don''t want to get on.¡± Turning back, Will went back to dragging his sister and the futon into the house.
Behind him, Will could almost hear the sound of snapping. But it¡¯s likely his imagination¡
Before he passed out.
----------------------------------------
Huang Hei¡¯s POV
Watching as the white smoke rush out from the opening of his Dreamer¡¯s Gourd, Huang Hei calmly plugged the stopper in and returned it back into his storage belt.
He turned his gaze at the pair of children that caused him to feel similar to some kind of sick person who enjoys suffering.
Honestly, the lolita wasn¡¯t the main issue. In fact she was extremely well behaved, if sleepwalking was considered behaving ¡
No, the main problem was that innocent looking shota. From hitting his vitals, to insulting his name, to spitting on his accomplishments, Huang Hei almost went ape on the little shit. Luckily, he retained a small bit of logical thought and knew that if he as much as harm a hair on any of them; he would be beyond dead.
A lesson he learned in the sect was to never mess with a feline¡¯s litter, it didn¡¯t even matter which species they were. One day, they would get even with you and make you pay back thousands of time over.
He could still remember that day when it rained fire from the skies. The entire sect was caught in it... He had to rebuild his house from brunt wood because that was the only material that survived. The feline even managed to get the fire to burn artifacts as easily as the formation-powered ground. There is still some wondering back in the sect why of all things, the wood was the only thing that WASN''T totally turned into dust.
As a person who tried to not make enemies, Huang Hei made sure to stay far away from any feline members. He was able to keep this ideal until a few days ago, when a sect mission showed up on his emblem. As he was the closest to this place, Huang Hei was ordered to pick up the children of two sect elders that were staying here for a mission.
He thought that it would be an easy job, just show up, grab the children and return to the sect. Unfortunately, the location of where to pick them up was extremely close to the human¡¯s domain, Huang Hei had to always be on the alert the entire time he was traveling. After using all his speed and stealth skills to move as quickly as possible, he succeeded in arriving in a few days to his destination.
Then he hit another roadblock - the children weren¡¯t told anything; he wasn''t sure why, and don''t know what their parent were thinking. He tried unsuccessfully to calm them down and get on his flying sword to leave. But he was again stopped by the little shota, who for unexplained reason, decided that he didn¡¯t want to leave. Problem is, their current location is way too risky to stay in and because their parents weren¡¯t around to protect them, Huang Hei had to harden his heart and knock them out.
As for the smile on his face when the shota hit his head on the ground, well, he didn¡¯t have anything to do with that. The kid obviously fell by accident; it was in no way revenge for the insult he gave the name that was personally given from/by the Queen herself.
No definitely not.
Lugging the two limp bodies in his hands, Huang Hei placed them on his flying sword, Blackheart. Then he grabbed the bedding and the little animals that were also knocked out by the smoke, and chucked the whole lot on Blackheart.
Jumping on to the front of Blackheart, Huang Hei poured his Qi into the blade and it accelerated into the air.
Now I just need to return before they wake up¡ Better keep them knocked out while I¡¯m traveling, can¡¯t afford for them to do something stupid and have humans after us.
Touching his storage belt, Dreamer¡¯s Gourd appeared back into his hand. Unplugging the bottle, Huang Hei made sure that there were enough of the smoke covering the entirely of Blackheart before concentrating on moving. Not only did it keep the children and pets knocked out, it gave him something akin to a smokescreen to travel with.
Letting out another sigh, Huang Hei thought about the consequences of his actions, and wondered if this counts as forceful help...or just kidnapping?
¡®Let¡¯s hope his parents would understand why I did this¡ I hate the fact that I didn¡¯t choose another time to visit the hive. Why? Why do I choose this year?¡¯
Sighing deeply again, Huang Hei increased the speed of his channeling, and Blackheart underneath him accelerated into the bright morning sky.
Chapter 10:
¡°KILL IT! SHOOT IT DOWN!¡±
¡°KILL THE BEAST!¡±
¡°IF WE BRING HIM DOWN, THOSE CUBS WOULD ALSO BE OURS!¡±
Screaming was the first thing Will heard as he rubbed his head.
''Owww...I feel like someone drugged me. Wait...stupid Hey-Hey DID drug me!''
Recalling what happened before he passed out; Will hurriedly opened his eyes and looked around him.
He wished he didn¡¯t.
Surrounding the so-called ¡°floating sword¡± in midair, were hundreds of people on different kinds of floating equipments. Will even saw someone riding a huge flying fan and one was even weirder and flew on top of what looked to be a giant needle. The thing was that dude rode the needle ¨C vertically. Some had several people riding together while others were going solo on their own flying devices.
¡°HEY-HEY! What did you do to them? Why are they chasing us?¡± Will yelled at the back of ¡°Hey-Hey¡± as the later continued to dodge arrows and other projectiles thrown out by other people.
The rushing wind didn¡¯t help either as it failed to block any of the noise the flying weapons made when they passed by Hey-Hey¡¯s ¡°sword¡±. To his credit Hey-Hey was rather good as he drove his ¡°sword¡± to weave through the gaps in the waves of weapons that were coming down on them.
¡®I dunno why, but this feels like a real life version of Mario Ka*t¡ Also I¡¯m kinda curious why I¡¯m not being ripped off from this thing¡ magical physics?¡¯
¡°Stay quiet! I¡¯m trying to concentrate! Damn it, they had to be wandering this area when I pass by, and didn¡¯t even bother trying to talk before attacking! What did I do wrong? My Dreamer¡¯s Gourd was also destroyed by them; it was the only magical artifact that I owned!¡±
Sensing that he should probably be quiet for now, Will calmly watched as the surrounding groups of people got closer and closer. They seemed to be closing the net after surrounding Will¡¯s group.
¡°Um.. Hey-Hey! You might wanna speed up here. They¡¯re kinda catching up and making a nice half-circle curve around us. I don¡¯t remember what they called this in war games, but I think this is a strategy!¡±
¡°God damn it!¡± Cursing, ¡°Hey-Hey¡± seemed to have thrown everything he got into the sword as the blade underneath Will¡¯s feet sped up even faster.
At first Will was worried, but then he noticed that there weren¡¯t any wind at all! It felt like he was in a car and traveling on a nice flat road, rather then in the air and traveling on a sword-table thingy.
''Wow, didn¡¯t know it had something like this! Now if he had told me that this sword was like this I wouldn¡¯t have been unwilling to get on! Man, people sometimes just don¡¯t say the right things.''
----------------------------------------------------------------
Following Humans POV
They could only watch as the flying sword in front of them got smaller and smaller before disappearing completely from view.
One man in the crowd suddenly seemed to have realized something, ¡°Hey! Everyone, if we just keep following their direction I bet we still have a chance to acquire some magical beast parts!¡±
The rest seemed to understand his meaning and continued to inject their Qi into their magical treasures. Sadly none of them were above the Qi Condensation Stage, else they would have been able to fly on their own power and not have to rely on a magical flying treasure to do so for them.
As they all continued to head into the direction the flying sword had went, each of them started to think about how to get the most benefits from the dead body of a Magical Beast that had gained a human form. Not to mention that there seemed to have been children with it, likely it had become the guardian of the children after their parent had been killed.
Unlike human society, where such stupid actions were rarely done, as no one wants to take care of a burden that wasn¡¯t even their own.
Magical Beasts on the other hand died for another¡¯s young, even if they had never even known of the other¡¯s existence until then. This book''s true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.
As they say, beasts will be beasts, humans are the rulers of this world because they are powerful, intelligent, numerous, and creative. Even if they have a weak body, if they gather in tens of thousands, they can take down a monster far above their own capabilities.
They just needed to sacrifice the retards that go first.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
After several minutes of the insane speed, Will felt the sword start shaking below him, and before he could even ask what was happening, it started to plummet straight down.
''THIS IS WHY I DIDN¡¯T WANT TO GET ON!''
Now the strong wind could clearly be felt on his entire body as Will fell down towards the ground, some couple miles below.
Nearby, he saw his sister and minions also plummeting down, their only difference is that they still weren¡¯t awake yet!
''Sure I get why I woke up faster than my minions since I still have all the mana sands...but why hasn¡¯t Big Sissy wakened up? Wasn¡¯t she at what, the 6th level or something? Wait...where¡¯s Hey-Hey?''
Looking past his almost shut eyelids, as the wind caused pain to surface whenever he tried opening them; Will tried to search for ¡°Hey-Hey¡±. After all, if the driver isn¡¯t driving then that means something happened to him.
However, it seemed as if the man had disappeared into thin air!
¡°BUZZZZZ¡±
''Did I just here a bee? Why is a bee here at this height? I didn¡¯t even know they could fly this high...well gg no re people. Another life down because of some dumbass that can¡¯t drive. Seriously, people need to sleep before they drive. If they do that then all those ¡°other-world transportation¡± novels and anime wouldn¡¯t exist!''
A flash of yellow caught Will¡¯s eye as he was finishing his preparation for another life, when he felt something grab his entire body before being thrown onto something fluffy.
¡®Huh?¡¯
The wind seemed to have died down, as Will looked at his ¡°savior¡±.
A giant 10-meter long bee was floating in the air; its wings were what was making the buzzing sound he heard earlier. His sister and minions soon followed and landed beside him, all of them still asleep as they were thrown by a large jointed pitch-black bee leg. Will was beginning to doubt they would wake up even if hell flowed out from under them¡
''Well I just got saved by a insect...what fun. Ha. Ha. Man if I wasn¡¯t taking meds before, I might have to start soon. What kind of insect rescues people? Rather what kinds of GIANT insect rescues people? The only giant insects I know eats people, still remember that manga with the giant plants and bugs...freaky.''
¡°Um...thank you Mr.Buggy! You are really nice to help us! I¡¯ll give you a small red ball to put on your nose later as thanks!¡±
Trying to thank a nice bug is always a good thing to do, and giving them a red nose is partly for his amusement and partly a reward for his life.
¡°Why are you giving me another nickname?¡± A human-like voice replied, sounding like what a bee would sound if it could talk through its buzzing noise.
¡°Huh? THE BUG TALKED! AHHHH, INSECTS CAN THINK AND PLAN! WE¡¯RE ALL DOOMED! DOOOOMMMMED!¡±
----------------------------------------
¡°Big Bug¡± POV
¡°SHUT UP! I had it up to here with you! Stay silent until we get to the sect and you can scream all you want ok? Until then become a statue and don¡¯t talk!¡±
Flapping his wings, ¡°Hey-Hey¡± resumed flying, this time bringing Will and his little group on his back instead.
After all, he was already being chased down, no point hiding his true form now.
Besides, the sword was always far slower then he was. Besides its not like he is pissed that it was destroyed; after all it was only worth a few months of hard work to redeem it.
He definitely wasn¡¯t pissed.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
¡°Mommy¡± POV
¡°Dear, I suddenly feel like the children as in danger! We have to return now!¡± As soon as she spoke, her body had already turned around and charged towards the direction where she felt the most uneasy from.
However, her husband had already blocked her path with his body, even turning into his true avian form to get a larger area covered.
¡°Look, if we just ran off now and ditch the mission, we would be forced to spend even more time going back and forth! Do you really want that dear? Listen, Will and Shui-er are safe, I promise! They are in the care of someone who is at least at the late Golden Core Stage or higher! I made sure to request someone to handle it well - besides they owned me a favor for taking care of that squabble about the honey issue. Anyways, just come with me and spy on the human¡¯s movements here for a few more weeks. Then once we are sure that we didn¡¯t miss anything, we can go back to the sect to see the children, ok? Just endure with it for a few more weeks.¡±
Her husband tried to comfort her, but for some reason she felt like he missed something somewhere. She didn¡¯t know how she knew, but it felt like her female intuition was telling her that her bird-brain of a husband definitely had messed something up!
¡®However, he is right that if we have to repeat this stupid mission, I wouldn¡¯t be able to see my children for an even longer time period!¡¯
Her instincts and logic warred, and logic won.
¡°Fine dear, you''re probably right. I guess I was just over thinking it, it¡¯s not like those guys back at the sect would be dumb enough to just send someone at the Foundation Establishment Stage to pick up our children so close to the human border right? Besides the only nearby Magical Beast habitat is that of the Yellow-Black Bees, and they¡¯re not fighters at all. Unless those guys had only planned for him to travel as fast as he could at full power to and back, they wouldn¡¯t send someone of the Yellow-Black Bee race over.¡±
Convincing herself with her own words, she felt relieved and was surprised that she inwardly believed those guys back at the sect weren¡¯t total retards and dumbasses.
Otherwise someone stupid would die very painfully.
Chapter 11:
¡®Sooo...where are we?¡¯
Looking around him, Will had imagined the sect would be a lot...building looking? This place looked like what happens when a giant bee grew intelligent enough to make a ¡°house¡±.
Currently, Will was inside a massive beehive, and he couldn¡¯t remember how he got here¡
''Last I recall, I got sleepy while riding on Hey-Hey...who for some reason is a giant bug. Still can¡¯t get over it, totally weird thing to be honest. So then I took a nap on his fluffy...fur? Hair? What do you call the fuzzy thing he had on his body? It was really fluffy though, so I just took a nap¡ and woke up here.''
He now kinda regretting the fact that he didn¡¯t bother staying awake long enough to see where the rest of the gang went or where he is. Deciding that he might as well look around, Will picked himself up from a ¡°bed¡± made of the same fluffy fuzzy things on Hey-Hey. Other then the color being different as these ones was white - Hey-Hey¡¯s was a mixture of black and yellow.
Taking a closer look at the wash bin-sized yellow honeycomb texture that decorated the walls and floors, Will noticed that there still is some honey inside of most of them! Well, to be more exact only on the vertical walls, those ones seemed to have been dug into and turned into storages for the honey.
''Hmmm... I wonder how it would taste?''
Looking around, Will made sure that no one was around the small room, before quickly stretching a finger and poking one of the nearby wall storage of honey that his little bed was laid by.
The honey had a rich golden color, and felt extremely thick. Stirring it a bit, Will pulled out his finger and sucked it.
''Mmmm, it tastes - like honey. Probably because it''s honey?''
Kinda disappointed that it didn''t taste like some godly juice or something, instead it was like one of those normal store brought honey you can find anywhere.
"Man...I wish it was ice cream. What a let down." Walking back to his little bed, Will sat down wondering when someone would get him.
If they wanted him for food, he doubted that they would just leave him in a room full of tasty honey. Well - unless it was to fatten him up...
As Will was thinking that, rustling noise came from under him. But when he tried to find the source, the sound stopped.
''Ok, I''m either getting back my hallucinations or there''s something underneath the bed.''
Making sure that his body didn''t touch the honeycomb-like floor, Will tried to peer into the darkness beneath his fuzzy bed.
He could only see something yellow and black before it latched onto his face.
"AHHHHH! THE ALIENS GOT ME!!!"
Screaming, Will tried to throw off the thing that tried to attach itself to his face.
Managing to hook his little fingers around the body of his attacker, Will threw the attacking creature away from his body.
"You motherfucking piece of alien parasite! I''m gonna kick your sorry a-", Will paused, he looked at the wiggling thing in front of him. What he had thought was an alien is actually - a baby bee.
Well not really a baby bee, more like a baby bee the size of a small dog. It had the usual fuzzy fluff thing all over its body, colored by stripes of black and yellow. The little creature looks to be rather confused about the whole screaming business and was trying to wiggle its way back towards Will.
''Ok... I''m assuming it was somewhere in this room and I just didn''t see it. And I''m going go on a limb and say that after eating that honey caused me smell just like food to it.''
Putting one of his little hands forward, Will poked the little bee. The bee wiggled in reply. So he poked it again...
Poke. Wiggle. Poke. Wiggle. Poke. Poke. Wiggle. Wiggle.
Pok-
"What are you doing?" A sudden voice came from behind Will as he played with the baby bee.
Turning around, Will watched as Hey-Hey walk through an opening in the honeycomb-like walls that definitely wasn''t there before.
"Me? Me no do anything! Me play with Mr.Bee-Bee!" Quickly slipping on his mask of innocence and cuteness, Will tried to pretend that he didn''t do anything that was against the rules.
Though technically you can''t break rules if you don''t know what they are. So in a way Will wasn''t lying to Hey-Hey.
"I knew I shouldn''t have left you with the princess! Get out now!" Hey-Hey looked angry as he quickly tried to rush Will outside the room. Only to be stopped by a bunch of buzzing.
"Buzzzzzzz!"
"Huh? Wait are you sure your royal highness?" Hey-Hey''s expressions are getting even more interesting to watch.
Will watched as the one-sided conversation went on, Hey-Hey''s face became more and more astonished. By the end of it, Will only heard a bunch of buzzing sounds and Hey-Hey''s face getting paler by the second.
When what Will assumed the yelling was over, if Hey-Hey''s pale face said anything. Hey-Hey turned over to Will and asked, "Um, Will right? Did you eat the royal jelly that was in those containers?"
''Should I lie? But this dude understands Bee... But royal jelly? That¡¯s what they call the normal honey here?''
Will nodded.
That somehow made Hey-Hey¡¯s face even paler, and considering how it was already as white as a sheet of paper - was quite fun to watch. The author''s content has been appropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
"Oh, Bee God. Please, please, let this be a nightmare! I swear I wasn''t cutting corners! Seriously! I thought the princess was already past the larva stage! She''s already a couple of months old! She...she shouldn''t have been in here in the first place!" Now Hey-Hey was even blabbering into empty space.
As Will watch this sad, sad man/bee thingy slowly go crazy, he felt the urge to enjoy the moment. Besides it wasn''t like he could understand the muttering of an insane man anyways.
Walking over to the little bee on the ground, Will picked it up and then moved over to the honeycombs that held the honey. Dipping another finger in, he causally sucked on it while continue to watch Hey-Hey''s mental breakdown.
Some buzzing from his hands made him look at the baby bee in his arms.
"Oh right, I guess we''re even now for you freaking the crap out of me. I got to see enough cuteness from you, so here, have some honey."
Dipping his finger in the honey pot again, Will lowered his finger to the bee and watched as it licked the honey off his finger.
''You know, I don''t really remember if bees were supposed to have tongues but then again I''m in a fantasy world and all. Plus with Hey-Hey being a giant ass bee...''
"YOU! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"
Will blinked his eyes at Hey-Hey, somehow he had went from mental breakdown, right back to being angry...
''This dude definitely have bipolor.''
Rushing over, Hey-Hey snatched the baby bee from his hands, leaving Will looking weird as he just stood there with a finger covered in honey held out.
"What are you doing Hey-Hey? I was feeding Mr.Bee-Bee!" Will tried to take back the baby bee in Hey-Hey¡¯s arms.
Jerking his body to the side, as if he was trying to defend the baby bee, Hey-Hey had a really scary look when he stared at Will. "Do you have any idea what you just did? If anyone finds out, we''re BOTH dead! You touched the Princess! No one touches the Princess! She shouldn''t even be here!"
Now Hey-Hey went back to crazy mode again, yelling something about the Queen and how his life was over.
Basically, crazy people''s talk.
Will went back to ignoring his deranged...acquaintance? Guide? He wasn''t really sure about their relationship, but at least he could confidently say - they are totally not friends.
''Who makes friends with psychos? Now that I think about it...''
"Hey-Hey! Where''s big sissy, Professor Bun-Bun, Blacky, Fluffy, and Birdy? I don''t see them anywhere."
Hey-Hey just continues to scream into his hand that wasn''t holding on to Mr.Bee-Bee, which at this point probably wanted a divorce with his body.
Will sighed; it appears he had no choice but to search himself. As softly as he could, Will sneaked out of the room through the open hole that Hey-Hey had opened behind him.
Outside his little room was long corridors filled with the same kind of honeycomb-like textures that stretched down three separate paths.
"Now that I think about it, they got some nice lighting here." Will spoke out loud to himself as he wondered down the path directly in front of his room. The ceiling seemed to have some kind of glow that allowed Will to see everything clearly.
''I bet they made the magic version of a light bulb here, maybe with a bit less bulb and more floaty light thingy?''
Looking above him, Will could see some honeycombs giving out light embedded at regular intervals. The rest of the ceiling was likely just decoration for whoever is living here.
Walking along the chosen path, Will looked at everything with fascination. He didn''t see anyone else yet, but there were a variety of strange things that stood out. On some parts of the walls, there seemed to be some kind of button-like object made entirely of what appears to be light-green honey. Will was tempted to press one of them, until it dawned to him that it was probably some kind of alarm.
Or maybe a piece of art, but Will wasn''t going to test his luck.
There were also caveman-like art on the walls as well, likely some kind of unique culture that giant bee people practice. Will didn''t feel he should judge another specie''s art forms. Though that only applies as long as they aren''t trying to convert him somehow.
Wandering on, he stumbled his way into a huge room, filled with giant bees. They all were sitting weirdly human-like as they sat on strange orange honey chairs and ate off of orange honey plates and tables. The moment he walked in, every bee head turned his way.
"Err...Hi?" Trying to stay calm, Will went for the initial proper greetings.
As one, all the bees stood up and then lowered their heads down.
"BUUUZZZZZ"
Taken by surprised by their servitude posturing, Will said the first thing that went through his head, "All rise! Good, good my loyal minions! You have done me proud!"
The giant bees stayed where they were, all their heads still bowing towards him.
Inwardly beating himself up for watching those stupid demon lord animes, Will tried again, "BUUUUZZZZZZ!!!".
He figured that buzzing was their entire language, so then they probably meant different things depending on his intentions.
"Why are you asking them where''s the closest bathroom that you can go throw up honey into?" Behind Will, Hey-Hey panted out of breathe as he spoke. "Kid, get back into the room ok? We are currently in the middle of a siege. I can''t have you wondering around with all the fighting going on!"
Grabbing Will''s little hands, Will was pulled away from the giant bees as Hey-Hey dragged him back the way he came.
"Wait! Me wanted to know why the big bee-bees are bowing! Hey-Hey do you know something?" Although Will asked Hey-Hey questions, he was ignored the entire way until they returned back to the room where Will started.
Lightly pushing him in, Hey-Hey just simply said, "Don''t mess around and stay here quietly until we push back the humans. Do not do anything else alright? I''m already screwed as it is."
Hey-Hey had red veins in his eyes as he stared at Will, it was rather creepy.
Nodding his little head, Will reassure Hey-Hey that he would definitely be a good little boy.
Holding his stare a bit longer, Hey-Hey turned around and walked out.
"Wait, Hey-Hey! Where is everyone else?" Will felt a strong need to have something to do while he waited, and since Hey-Hey clearly didn''t understand the concept of passing time with entertainment. Well, he could only rely on his little family to help alleviate his boredom instead.
"Don''t worry about them, just stay here and don''t break anything! Also do not leave this room, am I clear?" Hey-Hey said over his shoulders, as he walked out the hole leading out the room became covered with a honeycomb wall.
''You did that on purpose! Stupid Hey-Hey locking the... door? Fine two can play at that game.''
Reaching inwards, Will lightly pulled on his mana pool and the threads that are connected to it. He could feel his minions noticing the gesture as they started pouring in their own mana pools into his through those threads. As Will watched, his mana pool grew larger and larger. The crystal-like material it was made of turned from a deep blue color to almost a clear white.
Honestly Will couldn''t understand how he is able to see his mana pool inside himself, but after connecting with his minions for a while, Will was somehow able to instinctively do it. And there was also that weird thing with their original mana returning to their bodies after a certain period of time if he didn''t try to stop it.
But then again, he guessed this was the "OP" skill he gained - though god clearly forgot to help him with that. But that just makes him a genius, who else could see their own mana pool?
Proud of his accomplishments, Will just waited until his minions sent in the last bits of their mana sands as well. Those little specks combined with the larger clear mana pool and disappeared from his sight.
Feeling his body strengthen was always the weird part about this mana pool combination technique. Sure he had more mana, but how does that affect his physical body? Will still wasn''t sure what was going on, but he figured that since it didn''t hurt him, well then he doesn''t need to worry about it. The worst that could happen is him dying... again.
Flexing his hands, Will estimate that his body would probably now lift far more weight than he should be physically able to. The power of mana is awesome!
''I still can''t do magic-magic yet, but I guess reinforcement magic is better then nothing.''
Will got ready to punch his way through the closed wall when it opened up in front of him.
Mr.Bee-Bee sat there waving an antenna on its head.
"Oh thanks, Mr.Bee-Bee! I was worried that this wall would be stronger then I thought and hurt my hands. You saved me the pain!" Patting the baby bee''s head for helping him out, Will picked it up and carried it in one arm.
"Now let''s go find big sissy and my minions! Forward march!" Pointing to the left corridor this time, Will walked with Mr.Bee-Bee as he went in search of his family.
Besides what is the worst that could happen?
Chapter 12:
''This is totally not my fault!''
In front of Will was a massive crater two times the one Hey-Hey showed up with. Sunlight came in from what used to be the ceiling, along with bits of the actual thing. How was he supposed to know that those buttons were emergency escape pods? It wasn''t like they labeled it or anything.
"You saw me right Mr.Bee-Bee? They didn''t have a label on it! Plus who just lets an escape pod hang out in a corridor?"
The baby bee just pointed a antennae at the remaining pieces of the wall, it didn''t seem very agitated considering that a good part of the roof and walls just flew towards the sky.
"Oh? Is that supposed to tell me something? Good thing I can''t read Bee, I should probably note that before going to court..." Thinking about ways that he could refuse responsibility for his actions, Will just ignored all the damage he did and ran back through the long corridor he came from.
Reaching his room, he sat back on the fuzzy bed and pretended to sleep. Before long the rapid pounding of footsteps stopped in front of his open room.
Hey-Hey''s yelling was heard even before he arrived, "KID! WHAT DID YOU DO AGAIN? I left you for a few minutes! MINUTES! And you shot a part of the wall out? How did you even do that?"
Will started to make snoring sounds to make his sleeping act more convincing as Hey-Hey walked into the room.
"I know this was going to be a shit mission, but nooo I had to for the sect points! Now we''ve got a small war with the humans and the reason we''re in this mess is BLOWING SHIT UP! KID YO- Huh? Princess? How did you get back here?" The screaming stopped; it might be because Will was trying use the baby bee as some kind of eye mask.
The baby bee cheerfully greeted Hey-Hey with a buzz. Will peeked out from underneath all the little fuzz and watched as Hey-Hey''s face attempted to contour itself into a weird smile.
"Ah, forgive me your royal highness, let me just take this mor- I mean, this child away from here and reunite him with his... companions." Sounding far better then he looked, Hey-Hey picked up the baby bee with a hand before roughly grabbing Will with the other and tossing him over his shoulders.
Will tried to wiggle free but Hey-Hey''s grip was really tight. Will guessed by this point Hey-Hey was really done with him and his actions. But then again, it was Hey-Hey was dropped him in here. Will seriously doubted this was the so-called "sect".
¡®I bet he never heard the saying ¨C you reap what you sow.¡¯
But then again, Will is aiming blind here. He can¡¯t ensure that he is correct; for all he knows, this giant beehive thingy IS the sect. Hell, his parents can be some kind of giant bee keepers who are taking care of it.
''But nah, that would be ridiculous, what kind of intelligent giant insect would allow two small humans to lord over them?''
Tossing that stupid thought into his mental furnace, Will looked around from Hey-Hey''s shoulders as he was carried somewhere.
The walls still were honeycomb shaped, but the color was going from a nice yellow-golden color to... blue.
''Ok, I get that giant bees and all are normal around here, but blue? How do they make blue walls? Unless there''s some kind of fruit that gives out blue juices? Nah, that would be weird. It probably some kind of plant dye or something. A mixture of them?''
Scanning the surroundings, Will noticed that the blue color was changing again, this time to a dark red color.
''Is it me, or is this place built like a light signal? But I do have to say they didn''t do the colors correctly. It''s supposed to go green, yellow, and then red. Why is theirs yellow, blue, and red? I might be over thinking this though, besides who cares what color the walls are? It''s not like they would have a rainbow color later on.''
Hey-Hey stopped in front of a dead end. The other routes were ignored by Hey-Hey, even though they looked to be leading upwards, from the quick glance Will gave them as he passed by.
"Umm, Hey-Hey? That''s a dead end... did you get lost?"
Hey-Hey gave Will a quick shake and said, "Kid, if we get killed today, I''m gonna haunt you for the rest of my existence." Will was then dropped on the ground like a sack of potatoes. His poor back was the first to hit the ground, as the rest of his body followed.
Wincing, Will rubbed his back as he stood up. Hey-Hey gave him another glare before tapping the red wall in front of them with a finger.
And like some kind of Hogwarts magic, the walls parted in layers that Hey-Hey walked into, still holding onto Mr.Bee-Bee Will couldn''t help noticing.
"You could have said something before dropping me..." Still tenderly touching his back, Will followed Hey-Hey in, "Or you could have also carried me in too I¡¯m not THAT heavy."

"Mommy¡± POV
"What are they doing? Dear, can I borrow some of this?" Without waiting for a response from her husband she yanked a handful of feathers from his wing, "Thanks."
She blatantly disregarded his small yelp as she started to craft.
Rotating her cultivation base, she pulled a sliver of condensed Qi form her inner core and binded it to the feathers. A quick spell turned the handful of feathers into a clear orb.
"Alright, let''s see what the hell these humans are up to now." Lining up the orb with the humans, she activated the artifact. While it couldn''t record sounds, the visuals were enough for her mission. Hopefully, this would get enough information needed to understand what the humans were up to so that she could reunite with her children.
"Dear, please don''t just pull my feathers alright? If we need to leave, they would really come in handy don''t you think?" Her husband''s rather squawky voice came from behind her. He was in his true form, standing just behind her to see what she was doing. He towered over her, a good 4 meters tall, with dark grey feathers covering his hawk features.
She felt that it was a pity he couldn¡¯t shrink himself down to the size of a small bird. Maybe then he could have gotten near enough to listen in on their conversations. Right now, he wasn''t any use other being a good source of materials for her crafting.
As she idly pondered, she ripped another handful of feathers from his wings, ignoring his twitch of pain.
Kneading the feathers in a ball, she drew another sliver of her inner Qi and melded it with the ball of feathers. With a quick wrist movement, the ball turn into a harden ball of clay-like substance.
"Alright dear, get ready!" Winding up for a throw, she alerted her distracted husband.
"Huh? Wait, what are you doing dear? We''re supposed to do this QUIETELY! QUIT- "
"KKKAAAAABOOOOMMMMM"
''Ah, the nice sound of explosions...'' Twisting around, she nimbly sat on her husband''s large back as he flew into the air.
She pointed in front of her, "GO! We''ll be able to finish this quick if we just destroy everything that they''re doing!"
Laughing manically, she ignored her husband''s sigh of defeat as he flew towards the scattering groups of humans.
It was about time they fought back anyways. Her children were waiting for her back in the sect!

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. ''Is this supposed to be the queen bee? Where''s the bee part?''
Will looked at the young girl that sat lazily in front of him, whom Hey-Hey claimed to be the hive''s queen bee when he walked in.
Good thing anime desensitized him to little lolis. Will was able to calmly do the correct and polite greeting in this scenario. Even with a naked loli looking down at him from her huge throne made of red honey substance.
The throne had artistic depictions of flying bees over the entire thing as to emphasize the different carvings. Will wasn¡¯t really sure why, but they seemed to have made that throne like way too big for a loli. She was basically on a throne equivalent of a queen sized bed¡
Will stuck out a hand and tried for go for the normal handshake while walking towards her throne. Even if he is meeting a weird naked loli queen, it is always the correct move to maintain good relations. But the loli queen looked at his hand with total confusion.
''...This isn''t going down that route right? I really hope not''
"YOU WHAT ARE YOU DOING? HOW DARE YOU TRY TO PROPOSE MARRIGE TO HER HIGHNESS!"
''...Yep, just as I thought... stupid cultures and their differences.''
Wincing at the sound and his implied action, Will attempted to calm the screaming Hey-Hey down.
''Seriously the dude has like no chill, he has been yelling more then talking the entire time I''ve know him.''
"I''m sowwy? I was doing the handshake, meme and pepe said it''s what you do when you meet new people!" Will activated his BS acting skills, making sure to throw as much guilt to people who aren''t around to deny it.
That tripped Hey-Hey from his rant; he paused after digesting that piece of info. "Wait, the sect elders does this? Why have I never heard anything about that?"
"Me don''t know? Besides, me don''t even know what meme and pepe are called at Hey-Hey''s place. Do Hey-Hey know?"
Hey-Hey quickly responded, "Obviously know the names of your parents, they were the ones who gave me this mission! They were... they were..."
Hey-Hey looked like he was thinking really hard about that question, so Will turned over to the loli on the throne. "Hello! Me say hi! What is your name?"
The loli queen opened her mouth and said, "BZZZZZ!"
Will blankly looked at her, "Ok... um, buzzzz?"
"The loli smiled at him from her perch on the red throne, "Buzzzzzzzz, buzz!"
''Alright, alright, first contact. And I got no idea what that meant. She could have said I smelled like shit for all I know and I might have just replied that it tasted good...''
That might explain the smile on her face.
Will made another effort, "Beeeeuuuzzzz? Buzz? Buzzzzz?"
Now he knows the loli is insulting him, she cracked up and started laughing out loud in a unique bell-like sound. Whatever he said must have been really funny because she held her stomach with one hand and pounded the throne with the other. Will could have sworn that when she hit one of the armrest, the thing sunk inwards from the force.
''That is one strong loli, but not really as funny as a nude loli wandering around outside in public. Haha that would be a real laugh back on Earth. Well for the bystanders anyways, gg no re to the pedos.''
Wiping the tears from the corner of her eyes, the loli queen smiled again at Will and started speaking in actual words! "Sorry, I couldn''t help it. You were hilarious! Man, if you knew what you said..." Bursting in another bout of laughter, she rolled into a ball and rocked back and forth on the throne seat.
''If there is such a thing as the FBI here, I''m probably about to get busted. Oh wait, that would be Hey-Hey. Never mind, I got a scapegoat.''
Happy that there was someone around to take the hit for him, Will calmly spoke to the loli.
"I''m sorry Ms.Queen person... me don''t know how you bee people do things here. Also why did Hey-Hey bring me to this place? Did you call for me Ms.Queen?" Will felt that getting some good idea of where and why he was here would be the best move to do in this situation. Besides, it''s not like he''ll be able to escape anyways from where ever the hell this is.
"Ah, how strange. Do you like making strange names for people you meet? First it was Mr.Bee-Bee, which, mind you, is quite an odd name for a girl such as I." The loli tilted her head as she asked.
''Huh, shit, it can''t be... THIS WORLD HAS NEKOSSSSSS!!!!! FUCCCCKKKK YEEAAAAA!!!''
Coughing to hide his broad grin on his face, Will took a casual glance in Hey-Hey''s direction. As he suspected, Mr.Bee-Bee was nowhere on Hey-Hey.
''So... SOOOOO... Everyday Monster Girls. Here I COME! But first, I need to get this loli some clothing. My head is starting to add in the filters for my own sanity.''
Bright streaks of white light now are covering Ms.Queen/Mr.Bee-Bee''s "special" regions.
"Ms.Queen person, me want to ask - why you no hafe clothes? You are totally naked... Isn''t it cold?"
The loli in question looked down on her body, and didn''t seem to mind that she was going totally commando. "Nah, clothing is so restricting. Also my name is Huang Fei. Not those random nicknames you keep coming up with."
¡®Oh ok, sure, I guess names are far more important then the fact that there is a loli totally in the nude. Man what was I thinking? Where did my common sense go? Oh wait, I know! It crawled up a sewage pipe to drown itself for fun!¡¯
Will started to feel that maybe common sense here is different then back on Earth. Assuming the current situation as the norm, Will assume that being a nudist isn¡¯t a thing in this world....
That might not be so bad now that he thought about it.
Rather it might be about time he got to the main issue at hand.
¡°So, um¡ Fee¡ Why did you bring me here? Me was just sleeping in my little room when I got called over here.¡± Will could feel the glare from Hey-Hey even without looking at him.
¡°BULLSHIT! But you reminded me about that! My queen, this mor- I mean, child, somehow activated one of the escape pods we had in the hive. I know I said it before, but seriously why do we have those things?¡±
¡®Huh, so those WERE escape pods, they did seem familiar somehow. Wait¡ why do they know what an escape pod is? I don¡¯t remember any fantasy story going sci-fi on me. It feels kind of creepy. Unless, I¡¯m not the only reincarnated one?¡¯
The loli didn¡¯t seem to mind that her commands were being questioned, ¡°My loyal guard, as I had said several times before ¨C those are a last resort. If we are at risk of being wiped out, at least there is a chance that someone can survive by using those.¡±
¡°But my queen¡ we were the only ones who were supposed to be able to activate them. He, um, did.¡± Hey-Hey looks hesitant to inform her about that little issue in her plan.
¡°Oh don¡¯t worry about that.¡± She stretched a hand and pointed at Will, ¡°I allowed him to be able to access them as well. You never know, those humans could get in here and we can¡¯t survive if his parents hunt us to extinction right?¡±
Hey-Hey¡¯s eyes widened, ¡°How truly well thought out my queen! I¡¯m so honored to be a guard of such a intelligent and ¨C ¡°He paused his slobbering, seeming to listen to something that Will couldn¡¯t hear. ¡°I apologize; the Royal Queen is calling for me. I must go!¡±
The loli didn¡¯t seem all that shocked when Hey-Hey basically ballooned in size and morphed into a giant bee. She casually waved a hand as he flickered from Will¡¯s sight, before she turned her eyes back to him. ¡°So, let¡¯s go back to my name. Who is Fee?¡±
Will suddenly felt chilly.
Chapter 13:
Huang Hei POV
Huang Hei flew in place in front of Her Royal Highness. Her large curves on her body made her all the more holy and Queen-like. The shiny and long coat of black and yellow fuzz on her body showed how regal and above all other of their kind she was.
¡®She is truly the Royal Queen, the one that all queens answer to. I cannot wait until my queen has grown enough to be called a true queen in public. Calling her ¡°princess¡± is just weird for me. But then again, I¡¯ll just guard her until she matures enough to start her own hive soon.¡¯
Imaging him serving one of the candidates for future Royal Queen, Hei¡¯s thoughts was brought back to earth when Her Royal Highness spoke.
¡°Tell me Huang Hei, 23rd of the 1430th generation. What do you have to say for yourself?¡±
Hei bowed his head down, allowing his body to float onto the floor. ¡°I am truly sorry your Highness! I didn¡¯t plan for things to turn out like this! At first, I had thought that this simple and rewarding sect mission was a simple and easy one. But during it I ran into these humans and tried to flee. But I never expected them to keep following me for so long and track me back to here. I have nothing else to say, you may punish me as you see fit.¡±
Her Royal Highness didn¡¯t seem angry about the whole thing, in fact her body language suggest the exact opposite.
"It seems you have misunderstood why I have called you here, Huang Hei as of today you are to bring your new queen outside the hive and allow her to do as she wishes. God knows how long she was trying to get out, and now she even got a good excuse..." She paused for a second; seeming to think about something, "Even though it''s rather early for that. But then again, I suppose this was going to happen sooner or later. Good thing you came around when you did. I wouldn''t have been able to entrust her to you if you weren''t one of the precious few males in this entire hive."
Huang Hei felt happiness well up inside of him from her words, but then the meaning of those words sunk in.
"Um, your Royal Highness, what do you mean bring out the princess? She still hasn¡¯t fully matured and doesn''t that also mean that you''re telling her to make a new hive elsewhere? What brought this suddenly?"
Her gaze felt like piercing needles, "I don''t think I need to tell you why, after all you were there at the time. Somehow I doubted you had forgotten to inform me of that particular incident when you gave me that little rundown just now. Maybe you felt it would be better to sweep it all under the rug?"
Huang Hei felt the air around him thicken, as if gravity had increased in weight around him and causing his breath to become heavy.
''Shit... I thought she wasn''t watching at the time! It wasn''t my fault that he fed her! Besides the royal jelly wasn''t even supposed to be there! That was a FUCKING STORAGE ROOM!''
"Oh? Is there something you wish to ask?" Huang Hei resisted the urge to lift his head. He could feel her amused look on his body even without sight. "Maybe you might have been wondering why there was royal jelly inside of the storage room? Or how about why my daughter was wondering around the hive and not inside the nursery? Come on, do ask."
"I apologize your Royal Highness, I have nothing to ask. It was all a result of my failure that led to the current situation; I take full responsibility for my actions."
Huang Hei felt a calm touch from the Royal Highness, "Relax, I was just joking around. I had to set something up so that there wouldn''t be some kind of issue later on right? Just think of it as a mother worrying about her children''s future." She gently lifted his head up; her beautiful wide compound eyes looked into his. "Now remember don''t mention anything to that child, I see great potential in him and I feel that it would do him good to not get a swollen head. After all, who else can marry into royalty without even knowing what that is?"
Signaling him away, Huang Hei left the large oval chambers the Royal Highness used as a throne room as her chuckling echoed out from it.
''This is the last time I''m going to take a sect mission outside the sect!''
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Human''s POV
¡°ATTACK!!! Smash through this bug nest! They¡¯re so scared that not even a single one of these bugs came to fight back! AHAHAHA-¡° The man¡¯s laughter was cut off when something huge and yellow smashed right into him. Part of the structure exploded, while the remaining part continued to fly off into the horizon.
Other humans who had been throwing down long-range attacks on the beehive stopped and flew up even further away from the ground.
The unlucky dude fell from the sky, with his magical artifact falling alongside him in pieces from the explosion.
¡°They¡¯re fighting back now! Get into formation guys!¡± One man, who appeared to be a leader of a small group yelled at his members. If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it.
Humans were flying around back and forth in the air above the huge yellow beehive. Everyone seemed prepared for the start of the true fight.
Well a fight wasn¡¯t exactly what they came for - rather more of a means to an end as a way to get those children. A pity that greed threw the concept of ¡°power-levels¡± and such completely out of their minds.
So they were quite surprised when a clear laughter came from within the beehive, before a giant orb or energy flew out of a strange hole before detonating right in the middle of their group.
Then other then pieces of random junk falling down, the place returned back to a nice peaceful silence.
Just the way it was meant to be.
---------------------------------------
Will felt the room shudder and shake, bits and pieces of the honeycomb walls fell down from the ceiling.
¡°Um¡ Mr.Bee-Bee? Can I now stand up? I think this place is falling down, maybe we should run?¡±
¡°I said my name is Huang Fei, come on, just repeat after me. Hu-ang. F-Ei.¡±
Will stared at the ground as she spoke, as it was the only thing he could do in his current position. He was in a servant-like position with his knees and his head lowered on the ground. It was like when those transported to another world people arrive and everyone is bowing so low that their heads are touching the ground. Though in his case, it¡¯s his head doing the bowing.
¡®Still this really is a weird position, why can¡¯t I move my head or hands? I¡¯m basically looking like I begging for mercy in a lost war or something¡Is that supposed to be the point?¡¯
Lifting up his head, Will saw a oddly familiar scene. Somehow those filtered lights were flicking in and out of view, but underneath it was random multi-colors mixed at random.
¡®Is it me, or did my eyes go crazy again?¡¯
Will spoke again, ¡°Say, Fee ¨C¡° The loli glared at him again, ¡°I mean Fee¡ Feeee¡Fii¡ Mr.Bee-Bee why is the entire place shaking and why are you suddenly multi-colored?¡±
The loli sighed, seeming to understand that for some weird reason Will was unable to pronoun her name. ¡°Whatever, call me Fee then. I¡¯ll only allow you to call me that. Anyways the shaking should disappear in a few minutes. As for those colors you¡¯re seeing; I have a question for you instead, what color is my hair? Or how about my eyes?¡±
¡®Huh? Her hair color is obviously¡that¡¯s weird¡¡¯
Will looked at the loli again, and tried to see her features but somehow can¡¯t seem to see it. It¡¯s like he¡¯s looking at a two-way mirror but on the wrong side. He could tell she was there but everything from her face down to the tips of her toes he just isn¡¯t able to make out.
¡°You didn¡¯t notice did you? I¡¯m currently in an illusion formation, nothing can see inside of this. This is entirely why you thought I am completely naked just so you know. The shaking messed with the formation a little, but now it should be back to normal. It was funny at first but to tell you the truth I am completely clothed.¡±
¡®Somehow that last sentence sounded off¡¡¯
Will decided to ignore the commando Mr.Bee-Bee/Fee, and focus at the main parts. ¡°So you¡¯re saying that isn¡¯t your true appearance? Then what do you look like? Take off this¡ illusion formation thingy.¡±
¡°What are you talking about? I will do no such thing! Besides you don¡¯t have the right to see my true form anyways! Now go away! I have, err, something to do!¡± Her hurried reply told Will that her earlier statement was at best partly true.
¡®Well whatever¡ I guess I¡¯ll go find Big Sissy and my minions.¡¯
After checking with the light-covered loli again, Will calmly stepped out the magical entrance and out into the hallways.
¡®I bet it¡¯s probably the materials they make clothing out of that is the problem. If I can find something like silk¡ then again I don¡¯t know the first thing about clothing do I? I¡¯ll just leave it to the professionals.¡¯
Will looked behind him as the wall collapsed on itself and sealed the hole he just exited out of. Then he realized something, he had no idea where he was or where his other companions had been locked up in.
Sighing, Will turned around and started knocking on the dead end wall, ¡°Mr.Bee-Bee! I don¡¯t know where my Big Sissy is! Also I don¡¯t really know where I am¡Can you hear me?¡±
The wall gave no reply, but after a few seconds later another giant bee showed up behind him from the corridor that he had arrived from.
Buzzing it indicated for Will to follow with a leg gesture before leading the way away.
Will figured the loli probably was the one who set this up and didn¡¯t hesitate before following the giant insect.
-----------------------------
Somewhere, someone¡¯s who is quite a bit far away POV
¡°Elder Flamedeer! I have urgent news!¡±
A young looking man opened his eyes from his sitting mediation position; he looked around his dull grey cultivation cave and waved a hand at the entrance.
Before even fully inside the cave, the voice started talking, ¡°Sir, I just realized something extremely bad! I was looking through those missions on the sect wall and was going through them to see if any of them was outdated. But then I found this one!¡±
The ¡°person¡± in question was a talking blue fox, every time it spoke its mouth stayed opened but words came out instead of growls.
Above the fox was a floating jewelry like jade stick, which the man gestured at and snatched into his hands.
After pouring a bit of his cultivation into it, his eyes widened. Then his expression stiffened before turning into the face of a pissed off devil, ¡°Who the F*CK set this mission as available for Foundation Establishment and above? Which dumbass wants a repeat? SH*T!¡±
Yelling, the man turned into a flaming deer before bounding out of his cultivation cave, screaming on the top of his lungs, ¡°ELDERS AND ABOVE TO ME!¡±
Usually someone in his position as an elder would never have the guts to do even something like calling all the elders together. So calling people like the Patriarch, Grand Elders, and other higher positions is a terrible idea, but he had no other choice.
The jade stick that floated above his head felt like a ticking time bomb, and if anyone else had read it. They would have also been driven into an frenzy.
It only had a couple of sentences on it.
¡°Sect Mission: Protect two elder¡¯s children and return them to the sect.
Award : 10,000 Sect Points and a one-time use explosive magical artifact
Requirement : Foundation Establishment and above
Current Status : Taken ¨C Huang Hei of the Yellow-Black Bee race, Foundation Establishment. Given automatically due to meeting requirements and nearby. ¡°
There are only two elders who are married to each other in their sect, and one of them is known as Elder ExplosiveCat. The same one responsible for that little fire raining incident that occurred a while back.
Elder Flamedeer could still feel her wrath and his fur itched where the burn wounds healed.
Sometimes he wondered why he bothered being an elder if it meant dealing with her.
Chapter 14:
After following the giant bee through the complex corridors that made up what Will is still assuming to be a giant beehive, his guide stopped in front of another dead end before lightly tapping the wall with a leg.
Will wasn¡¯t surprised this time when the wall did its magical special effect for the equivalent of a door opening. The giant bee did the exact gesture like the other giant bees Will had met before heading off to whatever it was supposed to do next.
¡®Well I guess this is my stop, still I kinda wanna know what they are doing when they do that¡ is it like a maid¡¯s curtsey? Probably the bee¡¯s version of it I bet.¡¯
Shaking his head a little to drive away his inner monologues, Will stepped into a similar room that he woke up in.
There was the same honeycombed walls and floor, with the center holding a rather fluffy looking bed where his minions and sibling was calmly sleeping in. The bed had far more of the white fuzzy things then his bed had. Other then that, there didn¡¯t seem to be much difference, unless he counted the fact that there wasn¡¯t even a tiny bit of honey anywhere!
¡®Where¡¯s the honey? I thought this was where they stored their excess.¡¯
Ignoring the still sleeping group in the bed, Will checked through all the wall holders that should have held the honey, but every single one was empty.
¡®Well I guess they store it room by room until one is full? That makes more sense now that I think about it.¡¯
Finished with his little investigation, Will walked over to the group of sleeping beauties and causally jumped on them, doing a full body smash before landing on bouncing fluffiness.
Except Big Sissy, Will¡¯s minions woke up almost instantly, before they blinked at him with their little eyes.
¡°Alright my little minions, it¡¯s time to¡. Go to sleep.¡± Will said, before flopping on his stomach and finding a position where his face wasn¡¯t anywhere near Big Sissy¡¯s elbows, those things hurt when she wiggles in her sleep.
His minions seeming to understand that he was just messing around; repositioned themselves around Will and dozed off again.
¡®Ah well, nothing left to do anyways other then to sleep, besides I basically seen everything this place has to see - well other then that Queen bee that Hey-Hey mentioned¡.¡¯
Yawning again, Will felt something familiar with this situation before he passed out.
---------------------------------
Huang Hei¡¯s POV
¡°Buzz.¡± [Thank you for your help.]
¡°Buzz.¡± [It was my honor, Guardian of the Princess. The children and animals have fallen asleep, I must ask though. Why did you order for them to be put to sleep with this?]
The same giant bee that guided Will over pointed at the gourd it was holding in another leg.
¡°Buzz.¡± [Don¡¯t worry about it; it¡¯s for their own good.]
Huang Hei took the gourd from the worker bee¡¯s leg with one of his own, before seeming to shrink inwards from his giant bee form into that of a human. Or as Will described him - a pale skinny Asian dude.
¡®Besides, better for them to be knocked out now, then for me to knock them out personally when we¡¯re traveling¡Again.¡¯
Huang Hei still remembered how hard it was to shut the little shota up while also going full speed. In the end he was forced into holding onto the destroyed remnants of his Dreamer¡¯s gourd using only his legs, and he had to wonder how he managed to keep a grasp on the thing. Suffice to say, he had no plans to redo that little miracle again. Not to mention it was rendered basically worthless in the end from doing so.
¡°Buuuzzzzzzzzzzz.¡± [Bye.] The worker bee politely saluted and then left Huang Hei alone in front of the room where Will and his little group laid passed out.
Sighing to himself again, Huang Hei made another vow to never, ever take another sect missions again. He also needed to have a talk with the mission branch about voiding his ¡°allow mission to be accepted automatically¡± part of his sect badge.
¡°Buzz!¡± [Stupid, pain in my thorax, annoying pieces of sh-]
¡°Buzz?¡± [Huh, why was I told to come over here? Oh, hey there Huang Hei, I¡¯m not sure why, but the Royal Queen told me to get ready to go out! She said that my pestering finally got to her and she is allowing me to come too!]
Huang Hei froze, his half-uttered words sucked back inside him. Throwing on a quick smile, he turned around to face his queen.
Currently she was in her human form, or as the humans would call her - a loli. Her hair was a strange mixture of black and bright yellow, almost like gold was painted on it. Although very pale, her skin was also clear and translucent, as if there is nothing in the world that can scar her look of pure innocence or her flawless body.
Her flawless¡nude body.
''There has to be a way for her to kick this habit of undressing and walking around buck naked in her human form. While there shouldn''t be any problems in the sect, she needs to be able to blend into human society if the worst does come.''The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.
Throwing around ideas in his head as Huang Hei tried to figure out a way to deal with yet another issue that he would have to resolve by himself, he greeted his queen.
"Buzz?" [My queen, it seems you have forgotten to dress up again. May I assist you in putting on these clothing I have prepared?]
Huang Fei pouted; her golden irises sparkled in the corridor light as she tried to get out of putting on those restricting garments, "Buzz Buzz!" [My loyal retainer, think of it like this. Humans originally only put on these... things so that they can conserve their body heat. But we are not humans! They only serve to restrict me of my motions when I put them on, and I''m already annoyed that I can''t use all of my limbs in this form!]
Huang Hei pleaded to her, "Buzzzz..." [But my queen, think about how others would view you! They would see only a child that has not yet learned of the true greatness that we hold - the ability to adapt! As magical beasts we have gone through many evolutions and some of us have reached the point where our appearance and heritage have become pointless. We are together in this war against those evil humans and it is in our best interest in the case of a loss to be able to coexist with them as well! So...]
Huang Hei took out a blue colored one-piece dress and easily threw it over his queen''s head. Before she was even aware of what was happening, her hands were already slotted into the correct holes as the dress neatly fell down and covered her body.
"Buzz." [There! Was that so hard? I even got the loosest piece of clothing I could find from the sect shops that I went through just for you!]
At the same time, Huang Hei thought about the bill he still have to repay for repairing his destroyed Dreamer''s Gourd. While the sect would cover part of the cost, he had to at minimum pay for the delivery via teleportation.
Of course as he was still considered to be in the middle of a mission, he would be billed when he returned back into the sect. Hopefully by then, the ones who put up the mission in the first place would pay in his stead.
Hopefully.
Huang Hei threw one more glare at the little shota sleeping before leaving to help his queen pack.
In his mind, the shota was trouble in a physical form.
''Once we get back to the sect, I''ll probably never see him again anyways! He IS the child of two elders, no why he would stay in the outer sect? Haha, besides the sect is huge, the chance of him meeting me is basically zero.''
Reassuring himself, Huang Hei felt a bit better as he left.
----------------------------------------
Elder Flamedeer POV
It was official; these elders officially lost their shit.
That thought flashed through Elder Flamedeer¡¯s head as he watched more then a hundred elders argue like children over who was to take the blame for the incident
Hell even some of the Grand Elders showed up and started to fight over who would take the most responsibility.
The problem is, in a way most of them are at fault.
The ones in the mission branch should have properly reviewed the missions before handing it over to the financial branch; where they would check if the mission was given a proper reward for completion before returning it. Then the ones in the mission branch should have transferred the ok-ed mission to the monster resource branch where they would check and find out if anyone was nearby the mission location. Then after finding a match they had to check if there was a agreement that allowed automatic mission acceptance for that particular individual. If that was the case then, and only then could the mission be transferred and accepted.
However, through some freak series of events, ending with the individual in question, Huang Hei being automatically given the mission, this incident occurred.
¡°That¡¯s why I¡¯m saying it¡¯s YOUR fault that this got this bad! If you dumbasses actually LOOKED at the mission content you would have known who it was referring to!¡± A white-striped Green Tiger was furiously roaring at a Blue furred Gorilla.
¡°Oh? So it¡¯s my fault that those dipshits back in YOUR branch thought that ¨C Oh? Look a amazing amount of sect points! Alright, let¡¯s give the ok so that a FOUNDATION ESTABLISHMENT cultivator is good enough to receive this kind of award? Oh real smart you stupid fur ball, maybe they should have thought a little and figured that the rewards seemed more like the amount for a CORE cultivator mission?¡±
That seemed to snap something in the Green Tiger as he threw out a paw at the Blue Gorilla, who seemed to be expecting it as he threw out a fist in response.
Meanwhile some of the few rational Elders were trying to stop their Grand Elders from beating the crap out of each other.
¡°Grand Elder TwisterTiger! Please calm down, fighting wouldn¡¯t solve anything!¡± A pink bunny the size of a minivan was trying to persuade the Green Tiger from behind. At the same time, a small snake that looked to be made of clear diamonds was trying to get the Blue Gorilla to stop as well, ¡°Grand Elder TsunamiApe, please you must calm down! At this rate we wouldn¡¯t have a vict- I mean, if everyone keeps fighting we wouldn¡¯t get to a agreement on this!¡±
The pink bunny threw a look at the diamond snake, ¡°High Elder RockCobra, are you actually trying to help? If we let them continue, it might restart that stupid fight of theirs about which was stronger, a twister or tsu ¨C oh shit.¡±
The High Elder RockCobra slapped it tail on its head as it watched the two Grand Elders stop in unison and look at the pink bunny.
¡°High Elder BewitchingRabbit I told you already, a TWISTER is stronger! Duh, it sucks all the stupid water and just turns it into some useless rain or fog.¡± Grand Elder TwisterTiger was the first to resort.
¡°You must be retarded! A TSUNAMI is literally a whole entire OCEAN smashing at your sorry butt! You want to try sucking out an entire OCEAN? Go ahead, try it. I dare you!¡± Grand Elder TsunamiApe argued back.
High Elder RockCobra just stared at BewitchingRabbit with the look-at-what-you-did stare. She gave him back the screw-you-we-need-to-deal-with-this-ASAP look.
She tried again, ¡°Grand Elders you must act your positions! Fighting isn¡¯t the answer!¡±
That seemed to shake them a little, as if a light had come and cleared away their haze.
The two nodded at each other. Grand Elder TwisterTiger said, ¡°You are right BewitchingRabbit, what a fool we two are! Violence isn¡¯t the answer! Isn¡¯t that right TsunamiApe?¡±
To which TsumaniApe howled, ¡°For once we agree, violence ISN¡¯T THE ANSWER!¡±
High Elder BewitchingRabbit looked flabbergasted; she gave High Elder RockCobra the am-I-not-awesome-or-what look. And he replied with a simple just-wait look.
She seemed confused for a second, until the two Grand Elders roared together, ¡°VIOLENCE IS THE QUESTION! And to that question of should I do violence? HELL YEA!¡±
Before wrecking the meeting room they and many other elders were fighting in to fight an actual battle outside in the sky. Where collateral damage would be far higher then if they had limited it into only the room. Plus there was that little part of being smack-dab in the middle of the sect.
Elder Flamedeer, who had just stood there forgotten, calmly took out a letter like magic from out of nowhere. On the letter envelope are two words written to large font ¨C Resignation Letter. With the letter itself rather bulky, but was to be expected considering he used more then a hundred sheets of paper to explain why he no longer wanted to be a elder¡
This was just another thing to add on to that list as he carefully dipped a hoof into a modified inkwell before writing on a fresh new sheet.
Elder Flamedeer couldn¡¯t wait the day he finally found enough reasons to leave his post.
Chapter 15:
He could see almost nothing. Up above him through the thick canopy of black trees, the pale moon light could only lightly illuminate the dark silhouette of a hand. The same hand that held ¡°it¡±, he could only watch passively as that hand came down. Although the hand belonged to him, he felt detached from his own body, passively watching with empty eyes as ¡°it¡± came closer. Ever so closer as he ¨C
Will flinched awake, the memories of his dream disappearing like mist. Already, the awareness of being awoken washed away any last bits of the dream he had. The only thing left behind is the sensation of how real it felt as if he had lived through it.
¡®For the life of me, I can¡¯t seem to remember a thing in that dream¡odd. It wasn¡¯t even scary¡ I think. I feel like it¡¯s one of those falling from a tall building kind of dream. Right before you hit the ground ¨C you wake up.¡¯
Yawning Will gave a quick look around himself.
¡®Alright, alright. Got drugged again. Likely Hey-Hey¡¯s doing. Woke up in unfamiliar place again. Okay. Now where am I this time?¡¯
He appeared to be on a¡yellow straw-like mat. It wasn¡¯t even a bed this time. It was similar to one of those praying mats he recalled from watching all those animes, with quite a few he has no recollection ever even wanting to watch. Will still wonders where all those information came from, because he would remember watching or reading something right?
¡®Well if it has no leads, guess Imma just ignore this little mystery for now. It¡¯s not like this will cause issues for me later right?¡¯
The surrounding was just bland unadorned grey cave walls, with the only other color visible being his vivid blue hair and the yellow mat underneath him.
The thing was¡ he was totally surrounded by grey cave walls.
In other words, Will has somehow gotten stranded by himself, likely inside of a mountain for unknown purposes.
Which meant.
¡°It¡¯s time to bust this place!¡±
Drawing on his minions¡¯ mana again through their connections, Will felt his body grow stronger. His vision became sharpened and his hearing increased in range.
Pushing down hard with his legs Will did the normal thing any reincarnated protagonist would do in this situation, he did a body charge at the closest wall.
¡®Time to feel the BURN!!¡¯
Will was also ignoring this annoying little voice in his head that went, ¡°WAIT WAIT! There is nooooo way you have the strength to smash through STONE WALLS dude! Chill and think about it! Hell even if you could, it is a terrible idea! What if the entire mountain crumbles on us?¡±
To that annoying little voice, the rest of Will was like, ¡°Shut up dumb voice! I¡¯m in a FANTASY world man! Take that dumb ¡°common sense¡± and shove it! Who the hell would believe that our Earth version ¡°common sense¡± works here?¡±
And so Will was able to easily convince that dumb voice in his head that ¨C no, he wasn¡¯t making a stupid mistake. For one, he was juiced up on mana! He could probably punch a stone wall and only get seriously injured! HA! This stone wall got nothing on him, plus in a fantasy world, earth type magic is always defensive. So running headfirst to do a body slam on the stone wall is definitely NOT a mistake.
¡®Or that¡¯s what I¡¯ll say to myself once I crack a few bones. I totally didn¡¯t lose my cool because I¡¯m claustrophobic or anything¡ HAHAHAHA¡Ha¡¡¯
Will watched the grey stone walls get closer and closer to him, he could even see the different lines and shades of the rocks as he braced for the impact.
That never came.
Before he realized it, Will had charged right into fluffy heaven.
-------------------------------
Huang Hei¡¯s POV
¡°Alright here is your sect badge back; it has been reset to stop any automatic mission from happening again. NEXT!¡±
A extremely tired looking brown stag was sitting in the Sect Mission office, in front of him was Huang Hei who took the offered badge from the air. Behind him, he could see the line stretching far into the distance.
Slightly confused he asked the elder in front of him, ¡°Elder EarthStag, has something happened? Why are there so many people here in this line? I thought this line was only for those who want to set up their sect badges.¡±
The stag gave him an annoyed look, ¡°Look kid I know this might be hard for your brain to comprehend but maybe you can see that HUGE line behind you and figure it might not be the best idea to hold it up?¡± Before waving a hoof at him as a gust of wind blew Huang Hei out of the building and far into the sky.
¡®Huh? When did the elder known for his benevolence turn into a pain in the ass?¡¯
As he flew in the sky Huang Hei tried to think of ways that he might have somehow offended Elder EarthStag, but he just couldn¡¯t come up with anything.
Hell Huang Hei barely stayed in the sect most of the times! He was either off doing sect missions or helping out the hive. Although basically they were equivalent since he had to leave the sect anyways for both of them, so where could he find the time to piss off an elder?Unauthorized usage: this narrative is on Amazon without the author''s consent. Report any sightings.
¡®Um¡ did we have that huge hole here before? I may be out most of the time, but I could have sworn that was where the elders gathered for their important meetings. Weird¡maybe I have been gone for too long a time and am behind on things. Well regardless I should return back.¡¯
Turning into his true form, Huang Hei causally twitched his wings to upright himself before turning and flying towards the outskirts of the sect where his residence is.
While flying, it occurred to him, ¡®I just realized I don¡¯t know where that¡child was taken to. Hopefully I¡¯ll never have to see him again.¡¯
------------------------------------------------
¡°Here dear, put this one on! It will go wonderfully with that beautiful blue hair!¡±
Will tried to control his trembling as he watched the truck sized centipede in front of him pull clothing out of thin air and force him into playing the dress up doll.
He couldn¡¯t just refuse because ¨C well, bees are basically herbivores. They ate honey and flowers, from his limited knowledge pool. But from his limited recollection, he could have sworn that centipede were CARNIVORES. Who knew when this weirdly girly sounding giant bug would go from, ¡°Ahh, you look tots adorbs¡± to ¡°I¡¯m like tots hungry and I see blue food in front of me¡±.
¡®Where the hell did Hey-Hey ditch me? Is this hell? Also why does the giant bug feel fluffy?¡¯
Will thought he must have lost his mind when the expected wall smash became a unexpected charge at a giant insect. If Will couldn¡¯t see that there were still normal looking trees around him and that the plants looked normal-ish, as in they weren¡¯t black and red colored; Will really would have thought Hey-Hey messed up somehow during their trip and killed all of them.
As for why Will thought he would go to hell if he died, well *cough* he did watch a lot of ¡°exercise¡± and did a lot of ¡°milking¡± during his time. He doubted he would feel comfortable in the ¡°holy¡± place of heaven.
Plus he was atheist and hell made more sense to him, rather then the probably-super-drugged-up people who stayed in ¡°heaven¡± feeling blissful forever. And ever¡and ever¡
Will shuddered; he could feel the centipedes¡¯ eyes on him again after he changed. For some reason or another, it turned around when he changed in front of it. Will was trying to increase the time between changes so that he would have a longer head start when he started running like hell.
Alas, it¡¯s a pity that his puny little legs wouldn¡¯t make a meter before it would catch up to him. Their size differences was a tad too large a gap to cross using just ¡°mana juiced-up power up¡±.
¡°Excellent! The dark blue subtly contrasts your bright blue hair! Who is the cutest little thing ever! You are!¡±
Will felt that this giant insect might be related to his ¡°mommy¡±¡ they sure talked quite similarly. But that wouldn¡¯t make sense right? His ¡°mommy¡± was clearly¡ something not insect.
¡®Right? I feel like she shouldn¡¯t be a giant bug right? If so¡ does that make me part bug too? But then again if Hey-Hey is a giant bee¡ maybe everything in this world is some variation of a giant insect?¡¯
Looking at the clothing on him, the fabric was made of almost silk-like materials giving it a really nice feeling, but when Will thought of the fact that it all came from a giant insect before being turned into clothing. Well it kind of dropped the ¡°nice feeling¡± down a bit.
It¡¯s like if someone learned that they were wearing something that was made up of processed humans, like say a giant insect that ate people for food and that food was then turned into silk. They might be a bit more inclined to, you know, toss that thing into a inferno.
Huge gusts of wind suddenly blew down from the sky, ¡°Hello there Grand Elder LifeCentipede, what do you have there?¡±
¡°Oh hello there Elder WindFalcon! Lovely day isn¡¯t it? I even found a little one wandering around! For now we¡¯re just playing around until its parents show up! Seriously though, who would leave their little ones inside of a rather far away guest residence? Sometimes I wonder what the new generations are doing.¡±
Will looked up into the sky to see a giant ¨C BIRD come down.
¡®Alright, guess that idea of there only being giant insect just got wrecked by reality.¡¯
As the giant bird landed nearby the giant centipede, Will can see that it wasn¡¯t just a giant bird ¨C it was a GREEN giant bird.
It seems he wasn¡¯t the only one god messed up on when he did those color fill-ins, which kind of made him feel happier.
Though for whatever reason the giant centipede looked like any normal centipede Will saw back on Earth. In this case it was a giant fuzzy black colored one, just magnified a few thousands times bigger.
Will blankly looked at the two giants as he tried to figure out a way to get the F out of there, when suddenly the giant green bird on one side seemed to notice his shaking.
¡°Say Grand Elder LifeCentipede was this little one this quiet when you met it?¡±
The giant centipede seemed to think for a few seconds, ¡°Now that you mention it, do you mean that this little one is afraid of me? Look at my memory; I always seem to forget that children fear this form. Although I thought he liked it considering that he basically jump-hugged me the instant we met.¡±
As it was speaking, both of them looked as if their bodies were collapsing on itself before turning into a human form.
Will¡¯s jaw dropped.
¡®WTF? I¡¯m starting to think I might be more messed up in the head then I thought. When did giant insects and probably man-eating birds turn into hot women? Well¡ they do fall quite a bit far from ACTUAL good looking people. But they¡¯re much closer then anyone outside of fantasy I guess.
By Will¡¯s experienced eyes, he could judge every jug sizes instantly.
¡®That one with the green hair appears to be a C at best. But the black haired one is definitely one of the rare Ds I had ever seen in both lifetimes. Man, they¡¯re like two watermelons combined!¡¯
Will had come up with the perfect system to judge sizes way back on Earth; it¡¯s quite simple, compare the breasts being judged to a manga or anime character from a certain genre of the media.
He tries to have a norm so he mainly just uses characters from - you know, the best depicted realistic ones like that manga/anime that ends in DxD with the setting in a high school. But the one anime/manga he mainly uses has the acronym HSOTD, which he compares to everyone back on Earth. Will knew that when everything was lost, he could fall back on it and understand that the world was imperfect. He grew to learn that legends exist so that those few brave souls would set out to find it, even knowing it is futile.
On an entirely different matter, he never was able to find anyone on Earth with anything above size B that was natural¡
However, the world hasn¡¯t forsaken him yet! Will was finally able to find the obscure size above C in reality!
¡°Say Elder WindFalcon why is the little one crying now? I thought we look less threatening in this form?¡±
The green haired women next to her replied, ¡°I think we must resemble his mother and¡maybe he misses her a lot?¡±
Will thought differently, ''In what way does "mommy" resemble you? It clearly isn''t in the breast department that''s for sure.''
The black haired women opened her arms, ¡°Over here little one! Do you want a huggy? It¡¯s okay; we¡¯ll find your mommy!¡±
Will look at the two misunderstanding duo with teary eyes, ¡®Just when I was rejoicing the discovery of finding a real legend, I realized that they might be right about the intelligence to boob ratio. So does that mean ¡°mommy¡± is like god-like smart?¡¯
Recalling everything he had seen of her so far¡
¡®If she was a genius ¨C I¡¯ll eat my minions.''
Chpater 16:
¡°So back to what we were discussing before, Elders, we need to learn to control our¡issues with each other more; how do I put it - peacefully?¡±
Elder FlameDeer sat in the corner of the room as he sighed; it was being to feel like he was sighing a lot these days.
With the revamp on the sect badges and cleanup over the Grand Elders¡¯ fight, they still had to deal with the ticking time bomb that was Elder ExplosiveCat. He still wondered when someone would mention that part to the Patriarch that is lecturing in front of them¡
Cause he knows for a fact that no one in the current audience mentioned it to the Grizzly Bear that is standing upright in front of him, as the latter pointed a paw at the roughly drawn poster that read, ¡°Violence is NOT the answer!¡±
Ironically, the Patriarch is also not aware of the events that lead to the fight between Grand Elder TwisterTiger and TsunamiApe, or he wouldn¡¯t only be showing them the fight part of their newly minted catchphrase.
Earlier that day, after the Patriarch woke up from his mini-hibernation, he was greeted with the view of a massive crater in the middle of their sect and the panicking elders who were rushing around to fix it before he woke up.
Luckily, since Elder FlameDeer was back in his residence and wasn¡¯t trying to cover up something impossible, he managed to avoid that beat-down all the elders got from Patriarch RageBear. His daoist name really wasn¡¯t a joke; he wrecked the elders so badly they weren¡¯t even able to show up for this meeting.
Elder FlameDeer found it quite funny that the meeting itself is about settling their differences without violence; mentally he added another reason to add to his growing list of retirement reasons ¨C hypocrisy.
But then again, maybe it would be better to just ignore everything and just wait for the ¡°BOOM!!¡±, as Elder ExplosiveCat would say.
¡°Patriarch RageBear, if I may, I have a question.¡±
Elder FlameDeer looked up from his contemplation; High Elder RockSnake was speaking out.
¡°As a Patriarch, it must be hard for you to shoulder all the burden that the sect carries isn¡¯t it? I feel that it should be part of the elders¡¯ responsibility to assist you in this. Why don¡¯t you give up some of your burdens to us? We¡¯ll help you out with anything that you find troubling.¡± His words seemed to have lit up the Patriarch¡¯s eyes, but Elder FlameDeer frowned, since when did this sly snake become such a nice guy? High Elder RockCobra¡¯s next words settled his confusion, ¡°After all you are getting weaker, you used to only have a small hibernation once a few years, but now it¡¯s every year.¡±
Elder FlameDeer watched as the Patriarch¡¯s eyes go from shining happiness to darkened anger, somehow, he felt like he could figure out what High Elder RockCobra was playing.
¡°Huh? When did I get weaker? I¡¯ll show you! Just wait until you elders aren¡¯t even needed anymore when I really start to get serious! You guys better get ready to start wondering around in boredom since you got nothing to do! I¡¯m already taking responsibility for the sect anyways as the Patriarch!¡±
¡°My, it seems I was mistaken, but does that mean anything that goes wrong is your fault?¡± High Elder RockCobra added.
¡°Of Course!¡±
Elder FlameDeer could already see the sly smile on that snake¡¯s face as he watched the snake pocket a recording jade into an inter-dimensional bag behind his body.
He needed to make a note in his retirement reasons about fear of backstabbing coworkers who wouldn¡¯t hesitate to toss another into the hooves of a trampling unicorn.
--------------------------------------
Will was held between two very well made cushions, it was new experience that he never had in both lifetimes and he enjoyed every moment of it.
It was almost nice enough to ignore the constant magnified animals he found himself being surrounded by.
Plus for one reason or another, they were walking through what looked like a giant meteor impact zone.
Nearby there was a giant blue gorilla that was taking literal solid rocks out of midair and sinking them deep into the ground. Beside him, as if it was a completely normal occurrence, was a large green tiger pouring some kind of liquid over the buried rocks.
Will felt that the gorilla seemed rather upset about the whole thing, but then again when could he read animals¡¯ facial expressions? Not to mention a tiger always looked as if he was about to eat you, so how could he tell anything?
¡°Good day there Grand Elder TsumaniApe! How are you today Grand Elder TwisterTiger? You both look rather fine considering you were the ones beat up the most by Patriarch RageBear.¡±
Will could almost see the sincere smile on Grand Elder LifeCentipede¡¯s face, although in his current position, being held between her arms and chest he couldn¡¯t exactly turn his head¡
But he can easily see that the two animals in front of him react to her words ¨C very negatively.
The gorilla threw down the rock he was holding and started to draw his massive arm back while the tiger just opened his mouth.
Before either was able to do anything, the ground underneath them rose up and flowers burst out before wrapping themselves all over the two.
¡°Now now, we don¡¯t want to injure ourselves again do we? Besides those pills you took were made by me you know?¡±
Will wasn¡¯t sure if she wanted to piss them off, or she was just trying to make conversation, regardless it just managed to get the two so ticked off they were almost vibrating in anger inside of that plant wrapping.
Will wondered if they would even be able to get out as he was brought away from the struggling duo that started roaring in rage.
¡°Honestly, sometimes I wonder who allowed those two to get promoted to such a high status with their temperament. Well I know at least you aren¡¯t going to end up that high maintenance right?¡± Grand Elder LifeCentipede started talking to Will as she passed more animals fixing the ground. Next to her Elder WindFalcon just watched the poor elders struggle to fix the damage that someone else did. Then again some of them they did deserve it ¨C trying to hid a massive hole in the middle of the sect wasn¡¯t exactly the brightest idea ever. You might be reading a pirated copy. Look for the official release to support the author.
Will just watched as Grand Elder LifeCentipede introduced different areas to him. There were many different areas that he was told was important to the sect.
The mission place looked decent; there was some kind of giant stone tablet that had rows of missions on them. Will was even able to see the missions update in real time as some of the missions turned from white to yellow to indicate someone had accepted it. Others just simply disappeared as they went from yellow to empty before being filled in with new contents.
A few locations Will wasn¡¯t able to figure out the importance, like supposedly the sect headquarter is really important¡ although it was basically in ruins and still had smoke coming out the ground around it. Weirdly enough Will was told it was unfortunately hit by both a tornado and a tsunami at the same time.
Will couldn¡¯t think of any scientific reasoning for why a tornado would hit a rocky area, or why a tsunami would hit a landlocked location, so he just threw it behind the: because magic label in his head.
¡°And now we¡¯re here!¡±
Will looked around; he was in some yellow straw hut that really differed in comparison to the multi-story stone building he had been brought around to.
A slightly larger sized brown stag was lying on the sandy floor almost taking the entire floor space, seemingly sleeping when they walked in through the entrance.
¡°Hey there Elder EarthStag! How are you doing today? Taking over for the disciple resignation office too? I feel that you are taking on too much work, don¡¯t you have to also deal with that whole sect badge issue?¡± Grand Elder LifeCentipede asked the motionless herbivore.
The lying stag signed without opening his eyes, ¡°If you want to register into the sect you must have passed the trial to be granted entrance. There are no refunds and there are no backdoors!¡± This line seemed to be almost automatic at that point as he spoke clearly and concisely. He went on, speaking in a monotone voice as if he was just reading the words from a script, ¡°If you have passed the trial, you can receive your sect badge and robes here. It also comes with a Energy Gathering Pill and basic cultivation books free of charge.¡±
¡°Um, Elder EarthStag? I¡¯m here to ask about this little one ¨C¡°
Grand Elder LifeCentipede¡¯s voice was drowned over again as the stag continued, ¡°Remember that as a member of the sect you must follow all sect laws, there is a copy of it inside of your materials as well. Make sure that you read through it thoroughly or the Discipline Branch will roast your hide, skin, scales, and or feathers otherwise.¡±
Will felt that whatever this stag had been doing, it must have really sucked. Its voice had a strong depression feeling within it and it still hadn¡¯t bothered opening its eyes as it rambled on.
Suddenly a bag appeared out of thin air and dropped on the ground in front of Grand Elder LifeCentipede, ¡°Here is all your things, the exit is behind you.¡±
Will blinked.
¡®Um¡ I thought he started with we needed to pass some trial. Why did it become here is your things now leave?¡¯
Grand Elder LifeCentipede tried a different method this time, ¡°So Elder EarthStag it seems that you have a lot of guts. Do you do this to everyone who has been here?¡±
The stag opened his eyes, ¡°Look girly, I had been dealing with this kind of shit for the past WEEK! Who are you to tell me¡¡± It seemed that he finally realized who he was talking to as he shut up instantly.
¡°Go on, keep going Elder EarthStag, what were you dealing with for the past week? I didn¡¯t hear it all.¡± Will felt the air increase in pressure as the arms holding him tighten around his body.
¡®Oh is this finally magic time? Time to see some spells! This air magic thingy doesn¡¯t seem all that useful. She should have made the air disappear! That would be hella lot more OP!¡¯
Grand Elder LifeCentipede¡¯s very presence made the stag stutter as he rushed to explain himself, ¡°It¡¯s¡it¡¯s not like this! I¡ I¡ I just got off my shift for the sect badge change crap that I had for the past week¡ And¡And I thought I could finally rest for a bit! But then I was told¡told¡ to do this shit! I only been here for four hours and more then a hundred morons came and asked if they could become inner disciples while trying to bribe me! After the last retard tried to actually sell me a stag pelt in return for him entering the sect - I am done with this shit! I swear this really isn¡¯t my usual conduct!¡±
His anger must have helped him ignore the pressure as the stag spoke more forcefully nearing the end of his speech.
Will have to agree with him, if someone was stupid enough to try using the person relative¡¯s corpse as a bribe; well it was grounds to be able to say that violence is alright.
¡°I¡¯ll over look it this time, but remember, you only got this chance this time because of this little one here understand?¡± Grand Elder LifeCentipede placed Will down in front of the stag, ¡°Now, the main reason I¡¯m here is for you to find his parents.¡±
Elder EarthStag looked at the shota in front of him, his blue eyes and hair stood out the most. The contrast between the blue and his pale white skin made him look delicate and weak. For the life of him, Elder EarthStag couldn¡¯t remember seeing such a sickly weak child. Normally, children that were just born and went through their molting period would be a bit older looking. Not to mention the fact that he can¡¯t feel the presence of any sect badges around the child. That meant either he wasn¡¯t a part of the sect due to the fact that his parent weren¡¯t or that his parents weren¡¯t planning his birth else they would have prepared a sect badge beforehand.
Muttering under his breath, Elder EarthStag cast a quick bloodline analysis spell on the shota.
¡°Alright, let¡¯s see what we got here. Oh? It seems he is a mix, a rather rare occurrence but somewhat normal here in this sect. I¡¯m not surprised that they didn¡¯t have a sect badge prepared now, time to check their races and compare it to our database.¡±
Will watched as the stag point a hoof in the air as a shining rectangular jade popped into existence. The light illuminated his body as well, allowing him to see the barely noticeable red light that was shining around himself.
¡®I didn¡¯t know magic could do DNA testing¡huh. Interesting, maybe all those sci-fi things were really actually just magical technology? A mixture of magic and tech¡ that would actually be so cool!¡¯
Elder EarthStag¡¯s sudden violent outburst startled Will, ¡°HOLY FUCK! SHIT! SHIT! Grand Elder LifeCentipede are you trying to play with me! There is no way you don¡¯t know any bloodline analysis spells! Why would you bring him here?¡±
Confused Will looked up at the watermelons above him, he couldn¡¯t see her expression but he could see the nearby silent Elder WindFalcon look of utter disbelief. She had been following behind them the while time and was waiting behind them as Grand Elder LifeCentipede did her thing. Now Elder WindFalcon suddenly spoke, ¡°I suddenly remembered! I have a really important thing to do! I will be bidding everyone farewell!¡±
She burst into her true form of a massive falcon before flying away.
Or she tried to fly away, as a massive tree root launched itself from underground to wrap itself around her. She struggled while speaking, ¡°Grand Elder LifeCentipede what are you doing? This isn¡¯t time to joke around; I seriously need to leave the sect for a important mission!¡±
¡°Hey now, Elder EarthStag didn¡¯t even listen to my response! Besides aren¡¯t you curious why he freaked out so badly?¡± Grand Elder LifeCentipede lightly waved her hands down as the struggling Elder WindFalcon was forced to land by the lowering root.
¡°As for if I¡¯m playing with you Elder EarthStag, why would I do that? You know that I normally deal with various pills and such so as a result I kind of lost proficiency in most basic spells. Bloodline analysis is just one of them. Anyways, now it''s your turn Elder EarthStag - what is up with your outburst? You scared the little one!¡±
Elder EarthStag shuddered as she glared at him, he explained as calmly as he could, ¡°I did a thorough analysis of this child. His parents are of the feline bloodline and avain bloodline!¡±
Grand Elder LifeCentipede seemed to understand his undertone, ¡°You don¡¯t mean that he is the child of Elder ExplosiveCat? Wow that really is bad.¡± She picked up Will from the ground, ¡°Look at that! This little one is her child!¡±
Will was raised into the air and could see a smile on Grand Elder LifeCentipede as she played with him by lowering and raising his body. Strangely enough, Elder WindFalcon looked like she had even more reasons to escape the sect and was struggling harder against the root. At the same time, Elder EarthStag seemed to be inching towards the hut¡¯s wall.
The only question on Will¡¯s mind now was ¨C who is Elder ExplosiveCat?
Chapter 17
Grand Elder LifeCentipede stopped her ¡°playing¡± with Will before turning over to the exhausted Elder WindFalcon, ¡°Done yet? I feel that you really should get rid of that habit of running away the moment you think something bad is going to happen.¡±
The dead tired giant bird looked at the woman in front of it and turned away, ¡°I¡¯m not running¡ its just a tactical retreat so that I can get the lay of the field before taking action.¡±
¡°You mean ¨C you just wanted someone to take the first hits for you so that you can then surprise attack them afterwards? This is why the avian race are sometimes known to be too cowardly.¡± Grand Elder LifeCentipede shook her head before placing Will back on his soft cushions before turning around. ¡°Let¡¯s go little one, time to go.¡±
Elder EarthStag, who had been inching towards the wall looked over, ¡°You¡¯re leaving already?¡±
Grand Elder LifeCentipede spoke behind her, ¡°Well I got what I came here to find out, so time to place this little one into the outer sect¡¯s teaching hall before his parents show back up. Someone has to make a good impression.¡±
Will couldn¡¯t hold it in any longer, he spoke for the first time ever, ¡°Big Buggy! Who is Elder ExplosiveCat? Why did Mr.Deery freak out?¡±
His personal moving cushion stopped, ¡°Well look at that! The little one seems to have gotten past his fear of us! But I do have to say, calling me ¡°Big Buggy¡± seems quite inappropriate. You should call me as your big sister, ok?¡±
Will figured he didn¡¯t really want to bother fighting about this to a giant bug so¡
¡°Big Sissy! Who is Elder ExplosiveCat?¡±
Grand Elder LifeCentipede paused for a second before she started walking outside the hut, ¡°Well whatever, you can call me what you want I guess. And your mommy is Elder ExplosiveCat. She is a rather scary feline and even I don¡¯t entirely know what is up with her...er, abilities?¡±
Will took note of that little hesitation in her voice, ¡°What does mommy do? Does she make big treey things too?¡±
¡°Nah, she blows things up with some kind of bizarre spell. Even the upper level of the sect isn¡¯t sure how she does it. Now don¡¯t talk you might bite your tongue.¡±
¡®Huh? What does she mean by that?¡¯
Will was quickly shown the entrance of hell when his slowly moving soft cushions become suffocating balls of death when Grand Elder LifeCentipede suddenly sped up to speeds Will had only traveled once in both lifetimes ¨C Magical Flight.
The few seconds that she told to get to her destination was like entire days to him. By the time Grand Elder LifeCentipede stopped he was on the verge of passing out.
¡®I think I just figured out why some dudes like them flat¡¡¯
As he took in deep breathes, Will tried to push away his dizziness and scanned the surroundings.
A group of shocked stares greeted him.
------------------------------------
Meanwhile, back at the hut, Elder WindFalcon was finally able to tear the last of the roots binding her with her beak. Elder EarthStag just lied nearby watching her struggle out of her magically created biological chains before speaking, ¡°So, Elder WindFalcon¡ you err¡think you can show me a good place to hid while this whole thing blows over? I¡¯m willing to pay.¡±
His serious tone indicted that he really did not want to be in the sect when the shota¡¯s parents arrived.
The giant bird turned to him before lifting a wing, ¡°I want that Gravity Stone you picked up a while back.¡±
¡°Deal!¡±
¡°Alight, get on. We are leaving for a mission outside the sect for the next few months. I already sent a message to the mission branch about finding a disturbance in one of the surrounding areas. Now we just have to pretend that it¡¯s a big thing and accept it via our sect badge and we have a perfect excuse to not be here when things blow up.¡±
Elder EarthStag stared in awe at her quick response; clearly this wasn¡¯t the first time she has done this. Now that he thinks about it, Elder WindFalcon wasn¡¯t present either when Elder ExplosiveCat went on her rampage before.
¡°Get me a minute I need to contact my cousin about not being around for a while due to unforeseen circumstances, and then we can bail.¡±
Elder WindFalcon asked as she watched Elder EarthStag pull out a transmission jade, ¡°Not going to invite him too? I thought you would warn him about this at least.¡±
Elder EarthStag put away the jade before turning into a young man with antlers on his head, as he climbed on her back he answered, ¡°Nah, he probably already knows about this, he is the one who called the entire sect about this matter after all. Besides I always did have a good laugh when I thought of how an herbivore deer would willingly go into a fire type road of cultivation. Hell, he might get more inspiration from this!¡±
Elsewhere Elder FlameDeer felt a cold tingle on his spine.
--------------------------------
Standing beside Will was a large blue fox who was speaking to a group of young human children in front of him, ¡°Now everyone, we have a new member joining this class. Say hello to Will!¡±
The group of children together yelled, ¡°Hello!¡±
They were currently situated in some kind of simple room, with a sandy ground that the children were all sitting on. The only thing that stood out was that Will was still wearing the nice silky robes that Grand Elder LifeCentipede had dressed him in. Meanwhile, the children were just wearing simple white tunics and blue pants.
Will tried to edge away from the group towards his cushions, but was unable to under the wrapping of a blue tail.
¡°Will, you have to say hi to them too! Go on. Greet your classmates!¡±
Will awkwardly put on a smile and waved the free hand he had at the kids, ¡°Hey.¡±
The blue fox nodded his head, ¡°Alright, we were in the middle of the introduction class today so it¡¯s a really good time to join us! Now before we start, I¡¯ll reintroduce myself. I am called Elder IceFox, and as you can tell from my Daoist title - I specialize in ice type spells and whatnot and follow the ice road of cultivation. Any questions so far?¡±
Will, who had sat down in the front of the class facing the giant fox, raised a hand.
The fox blinked at the gesture, ¡°Will what are you doing?¡±Enjoying the story? Show your support by reading it on the official site.
Will tilted his head, clearly he wanted to ask a question so why did raising a hand cause them to be so confused?
¡®He did say this was a class right? So don¡¯t they follow the normal rules?¡¯
¡°Mr.Foxxy, what do you mean by an ice road to cultivation? Are you trying to slip or something?¡±
The giant fox seemed to realize that Will wanted to ask a question, but he couldn¡¯t just let him call him a ridiculous name like Mr.Foxxy.
¡°Alright before we get to your question, I must be clear here. Will, my name is Elder IceFox¡ well it¡¯s my daoist title but that isn¡¯t the point. The point is that I am not this Mr.Foxxy creature you speak of, understand?¡±
Will nodded, inwardly he thought their names were really easy to make and kinda dumb way of naming.
¡®Seriously, what kind of name is just some title with an adjective combined with a noun? Or was it a verb? Regardless, they clearly have no imagination¡¡¯
¡°As for your question, a road of cultivation is something that you all here will embark on. It is your personal path of achieving your dao and reaching immortality!¡±
The fox showed strong emotions when he spoke of immortality, with a gleam in his icy blue eyes he added to his explanation. ¡°Currently, you all are basically on the first steps of the path to becoming true immortals! Whatever way you choose from now on will pave the way for you to step by step gain more and more power until you truly mastered the dao!¡±
Will raised his hand again, ¡°Um, can you explain what a dao is? Also why do ice and this dao thing have with a path to immortality?¡±
¡®Are you sure you took your medication this morning? Becoming immortal? Are you high? Seriously I was expecting to fight some kind of demon lord or something, why did I get the brain dead animals as my companions? Besides who the F wants to become immortal? Why do you think those immortals in fantasy tried their hardest to end their existences? Living too long is equivalent to eternal suffering dude¡¡¯
¡°Ah, let me lower it so it fit you children more. Currently what you need to know is that each choice in your cultivation would end up either help or interfere with achieving your dao. Let me give you an example.¡±
Elder IceFox waved a paw in the air and a mist of cold air started to flow around his body.
¡°This here is a protection spell, a rather basic one called Ice Resistance. Basically it allows me to withstand lower temperatures then what my normal body can.¡±
¡®FINALLY MAGIC! Like in actual magic! Luckily there are no chants¡I shiver in humiliation when I remember some of those lines from magic anime and such.¡¯
¡°Now let¡¯s say I wanted to focus my efforts in pursuing a path of cultivation related to the unique ice element. Which unlike the basic five elements; is considerably harder to control and utilize. Would it be better for me to learn a fighting technique like the Fire Lion¡¯s Roar or should I learn the breathing technique Ice Fish¡¯s Breathe?¡±
Will shivered.
Elder IceFox noticed his involuntary movement, ¡°Yes Will? You want to answer?¡±
¡°Er¡ no not really I just have like a few more questions.¡±
Elder IceFox patiently nodded at the little one in front of him, urging Will to continue.
¡°Alright, I¡¯m going to start with the easiest one here. You said there are five basic elements? Can you tell me what they are?¡±
Elder IceFox had a stunned look; he turned around to look for Grand Elder LifeCentipede who had been behind him. Strangely enough she had seemingly disappeared into thin air. He simply sighed and turned back to Will.
¡°The five basic elements make up this entire world. They are fire, water, wood, metal, and wind. Each of them counters one element while at the same time strengthening others. Fire burns metal, metal engulfs wood, wood crushes wind, wind slices water, and water extinguishes fire. For the strengthening parts, there are numerous ways to increase power of one element with the assistance of another. Increasing the intensity of fire with wind is just one application. So you easily see that¡ huh?¡±
Elder IceFox stopped his little presentation; Will was covering his ears and rolling on the sandy ground of the classroom.
¡°I can¡¯t hear you!!! I can¡¯t hear you! You weird looking talking fox creature! I¡¯m clearly high and I¡¯m just gonna wait until I come down before forgetting anything that happened! LALALALA!¡±
The other children had already backed away from the weirdo as Elder IceFox froze for a second before pointing a claw at Will, freezing him in place.
¡°I know I¡¯m going to regret this question, but¡ Will what is wrong?¡±
Will stared at the fox with teary eyes, ¡°Your basic elements! How can you even mess that up?! It doesn¡¯t even make sense! There are four basic elements! Four! How did you add one and then forget the basic elements of earth? Hell, one of your Elders¡¯ name is EarthStag!¡±
¡°I don¡¯t understand, Will, what is the problem? Elder EarthStag just practices one of the unique elements like my ice ¨C¡°
¡°NO! Ice is not a unique element! And neither is earth! There are only four unique elements in total! And two of them barely show up like ever! Light and darkness are the only well known unique elements in the world dude! While space and time are the rarely seen unique elements!¡±
Breathing hard, Will continued his presentation for legit magical logic, ¡°Every other element is either just a combination of the basic four elements or an enhanced version of one of them! Or if you get even more complex, you can then combine already combined elements to make an even stronger element!¡±
His body was shaking with adrenaline at this point, but Will couldn¡¯t just let them wreck his memories of TRUE fantasy.
Scared, Elder IceFox tried to calm Will down, ¡°Okay, okay Will. It was my mistake. There are only four basic elements. Alright? Take deep breathes now. Nice and slow.¡±
After a couple of deep breathes later Will was calm enough to go back to logic slinging mode again.
This time Will stood in front of the class with a blackboard made of ice behind him, next to him was Elder IceFox who had given up teaching for the day.
Drawing with an ice pen filled with some kind of red ink, Will started to explain the real elements and how they interacted.
¡°These four are the basic elements; fire, water, earth, and wind.¡± He drew four little symbols for each of them in the center of the board. They were positioned in a way that they made a diamond shape while still maintaining a small space between each other.
¡°Now the actual unique elements are over here; time, space, light, and darkness.¡± Will drew a symbol in each corner of the board.
¡°When someone starts to begin the path of becoming a awesome magician or mage ¨C ¡°
Someone coughed, Elder IceFox glared at the person before waving his tail for Will to continue.
¡°Anyways, the basic elements that everyone starts off are these four elements.¡± Will emphasized this, tapping the four symbols in the middle of the board with his ice pen. He drew lines connecting the four symbols to make a circle with his red ink pen.
¡°That is the first level for everyone. After that they can choose to work and develop one particular element or work on the next level of magic. I call this the second level.¡±
Will started drawing lines from each basic element and drew a new symbol at the end of each, and then he drew lines from two different elements and joined them together before drawing another symbol at the end.
¡°This is where the basic elements are able to be manipulated in different ways to create new elements. But at the same time depending on how one does this; they can create the same elements another has made using a mix of different combination and pure ingenuity.¡±
Will looked at the rest of the children who were either trying to understand what he meant ¨C and failing horribly, or giving out stares filled with sympathy at him.
¡®Somehow I feel more insulted that they are looking at me like I¡¯m mental. Clearly I¡¯m not mental, duh. Who talks to themselves mentally would have any kind of mental issue?¡¯
Ignoring the people Will went back to his explanation, ¡°The next level is either an increase in ability to manipulate an element or creating a new element using a mix of the basic ones. For example, here.¡± Will tapped one of the new symbols that connect to the symbol of three wavy lines in the center of the board, ¡°This is the element of ice that Elder IceFox uses. It is considered a second level of magic since he has taken the manipulation of water to a new level and changed it to be able to manipulate the solid form of water as well ¨C ice.¡±
Elder IceFox started to look with interest as he combed through what Will is saying, ¡°However Will, I only focused on the ice element my entire cultivation path. I¡¯ve never learned any water type techniques before.¡±
Will gave Elder IceFox a weird look, ¡°So you just one day suddenly could use ice? There wasn¡¯t any kind of prerequisites?¡±
Elder IceFox seemed quite interested in this topic as he seriously thought about the first few years when he cultivated. ¡°That should be correct; I only had to understand how ice is created after visiting the windy valley outside of the sect. In that place, everything that the wind blew past turned into shards of frozen ice that flew in a storm of ice shards. Honestly back then I though I was going to die.¡±
Will gave him a blank look before patting his back with a look of sympathy.
¡°Eh? What are you doing?¡± Elder IceFox seemed a bit creeped out by Will¡¯s action.
Will looked at the board, specifically at the wind and water symbols that were connected together to make another ¡®ice¡¯ element. At the same time he also focused on the one symbol that is linked the wind symbol, it was a bunch of scribbles that stood for ¡®storm¡¯.
Will wondered if there was a way to change your daoist name¡
Because Elder IceFox was a total moron who chose the wrong element.
Chapter 18:
Knocking sounds from outside the room caused Will to pause mid-explaining how magic levels work and how they interacted with elements.
An elderly man walked in, his beard was so long it reached his knees, ¡°Hello? I¡¯m here to teach them for their next lesson, is that alright with you Elder IceFox?¡± He had a calm and gentle voice that most elderly people have after going through many experiences; similar to listening to relaxing music while eating ice cream.
He stopped short when he saw that Will was teaching the class while Elder IceFox watched from the side. ¡°Did I miss something?¡±
Elder IceFox looked relieved as the elderly man walked in, ¡°Don¡¯t worry about it.¡± He then addressed the rest of the class, ¡°Alright children, High Elder BewitchingRabbit is going to teach your next class. Please follow her to the practice grounds in a single file!¡±
While Will felt that he didn¡¯t get to explain enough, it seemed that this was out of his hands as he was practically floated away from the board and pulled towards the elderly man who was addressed as ¡®her¡¯.
¡°Wait! Wait! At least let me keep the board! I can use it for future lessons!¡± Waving his little hands Will gave Elder IceFox his best puppy eyes look.
Elder IceFox turned around, suddenly having developed a deep interest on the opposite wall of the room.
Will watched as the giant blue fox fade from view as he floated a meter above the ground. The elderly man just smiled at him before walking with the rest of the children following on foot towards a nearby area devoid of buildings.
Now that Will looked around, he realized that he hasn¡¯t managed to get a good look around this so-called ¡°sect¡± since he got there.
They seemed to have a vastly different architecture style then what he was led to believe for a fantasy world. For one, there didn¡¯t seem to have the normal building that was a stable for any decent place. Nothing screamed out blacksmith, tavern, or weapon shop to Will. Hell, for some reason he felt that they weren¡¯t even remotely Japanese or European Middle Ages related. But that couldn¡¯t be the case!
Sometimes Will was starting to wonder if he really was in a magic and swords world, because half the time all he saw was either pure natural environment (a.k.a trees) or poor rural building made of wood. The nearby buildings are a perfect example, as it was exactly like his earlier ¡°classroom¡±. They didn¡¯t even have any sort of additional color of any kind, just plain old brown one-story buildings that were placed in a circle.
[Exactly how bad is their technological level? I¡¯m starting to think they might be even earlier then the middle ages. But then where are the magical items that make up for it? I sure don¡¯t see anything.]
Although Will did see some things during his "tour" with Grand Elder LifeCentipede, it made the difference even more apparent.
Still being dragged away by some kind of magic, Will wondered if he could become some kind of technological founder using his earlier life as a template. After all, isn¡¯t that what all MCs who reincarnated/transported do when they get to the magical world?
Pity Will had no idea how to build a thing, he was only a coder back on Earth¡ and not exactly a really great one either.
[I can only wish that I had read those instruction manuals and whatnots on how to make stuff¡ but honestly I doubt I would even if I could go back. Too much time spending on playing games, reading light novels, and watching animes.]
Will sighed as he floated above the heads of the children, wishing that he was more studious when he was alive in his past life. He literally got no knowledge besides coding and his hobbies.
What a waste.
------------------
Elder IceFox watched as the little child get pulled away by High Elder BewitchingRabbit, struggling all the while.
He felt a voice transmission from her as she walked away, ¡°Exactly how did this little boy managed to get you so agitated?¡± Her voice had a bit of curiosity in it as well as a dash of playful teasing.
He shot back, ¡°He gave me a really sad look when I told him about the time I first set out on a path of ice cultivation. Then he kept it up the rest of the time he was explaining about bizarre topics like ¡®affinity¡¯ and ¡®mages¡¯. Do you have any idea how annoying it gets whenever he talks about a topic, looks at me, and then sighs with a sad look?¡±
High Elder BewitchingRabbit asked, ¡°What¡¯s a mage?¡±
¡°Hell if I know! Seriously I don¡¯t know whose child that is, but they need to teach him some actual logic! He said that there were four basic elements and flipped out when I said that there were five. Then he went on this rant about magic levels and elements, I¡¯m still not sure what he was talking about but after a bit it gave me a headache. So I just smiled and pretended to understanding what he was talking about. Now that I think about it, I think his so called magic levels are just our cultivation levels and his elements are his way of saying the dao.¡±
There was a pause on the other side as High Elder BewitchingRabbit digested all that, ¡°So I guess this is probably a bad time to mention this, but want to know who his parents are? I¡¯ll give you a hint ¨C we elders had a meeting on this a bit ago. Why else did you think I came over?¡±
Elder IceFox froze; he did think it was weird that a High Elder went out of her way to come teach children basic fighting skills¡ not to mention that Elder FlameDeer was supposed to teach them.
Then it clicked.
¡°Hey, quick question High Elder BewitchingRabbit, did Elder FlameDeer know about this?¡±
There was no reply on the other side, indicting that she would rather not comment.
[That bastard tried to toss me to the wolves! He knew that their children were coming here! I don¡¯t know who told him that but he ditched to make sure he wouldn¡¯t be caught in the crossfire!]This story is posted elsewhere by the author. Help them out by reading the authentic version.
Elder IceFox paused a bit, something didn¡¯t feel right. He felt that in his angered state something important surfaced.
[Children? Wait¡ where¡¯s the other children? I know on the mission it said children not child.]
Elder IceFox fur started to stiffen making him look like a big ball of fur, his face had the same look a fox gets when it gets caught in a trap.
¡°High Elder BewitchingRabbit¡ WHERE THE HELL IS THE OTHER CHILDREN!¡±
------------
Will watch as the elderly man stop in the middle of the clearing, surrounding them about 50 meters away was the circle of empty buildings.
¡°Alright children let¡¯s all group up in groups of two please. I¡¯m going to teach you each basic fighting techniques.¡±
Energetically, the children wandered around to look for a partner, all except Will as he was still suspended in midair unable to move.
The elder man slowly walked towards Will as he helped other children form their pairs.
Then he tripped over nothing and fell face first on the ground.
As if a hologram was turned off, the elderly man turned into a young women dressed in all pink. Pink robes loosely covered her body, with matching hot pink slipper-like shoes. The pink hair-tie tying her long pink hair helped complete her entire hot pink outfit.
[Ah, now I see what Elder IceFox meant by ¡®her¡¯¡and her name of High Elder BewitchingRabbit]
Ignoring the rest of the baffled and wide eyed children, High Elder BewitchingRabbit ran straight towards the hovering Will.
¡°Will! Tell me clearly, where are your siblings?¡± As if she saw a ghost, her fair face was pale. It gave her good looks and pink eyes a nice touch up in Will¡¯s opinion. Pity her heaving chest was as flat as a board¡
Will could only blink at her.
Realizing that he couldn¡¯t move, High Elder BewitchingRabbit released the spell holding him in place.
Will dropped onto the ground lightly, before facing her with his head tilted upwards.
He just shrugged.
She looked worse, if that was possible, at his non-verbal answer.
Will felt that she might not have understood, so he opened his mouth and said, ¡°I dunno. Woke up in a random cave before Big Sissy found me and dragged me over here. I didn¡¯t have the time to find actual Big Sissy.¡±
She blinked with her rather H-like eyes, now she was only missing those heart-shaped pupils¡
¡°Alright, class we¡¯re going to end this lesson early. Will follow me and point where exactly you woke up in.¡±
Grabbing his little hands in hers, High Elder BewitchingRabbit started walking quickly away from the other children.
[Err¡ that is a good question. Where did I wake up in?]
Will trot quickly behind her; his little steps were only a third as long as hers.
¡°Um¡ Where are we going? I don¡¯t know where I woke up in since Big Sissy brought me here after¡ teleporting? Flash-step? Over to here.¡±
High Elder BewitchingRabbit paused; she didn¡¯t turn around to face Will so he couldn¡¯t see her face. But her body language wasn¡¯t saying anything good that¡¯s for sure.
After a few seconds, she turned around and calmly spoke in a louder voice so all of the other children who were beginning to disperse to who-knows-where could hear, ¡°Everyone, change of plans again! We¡¯re going to go ahead and do this lesson after all! All pairs turn to each other!¡±
The children ran back to the center of the bare sandy ground as they lined up in two rows, facing inwardly at each other.
Will was facing High Elder BewitchingRabbit before he even knew what was happening. She turned to look at the other children who were eagerly awaiting her instructions from the looks of their eyes.
¡°We¡¯ll practice attacking and defending without weapons for now. Later those who are deemed mature enough are allowed to spar with each other using blunted blades. I¡¯ll demonstrate.¡±
High Elder BewitchingRabbit started her ¡®spur¡¯ with Will as her partner in front of the other children.
Extending an arm she lightly tapped his chest with a closed fist.
¡°This is counted as a hit, we¡¯re not going any further then this alright? The defender only is allowed to avoid or redirect the attacker. They are not allowed to hit back, is that clear?¡±
All the children nodded, before one side started throwing out punches with abandon. Completely not listening to what was demonstrated just a few seconds ago, the so-called defenders really ¡°defended¡± by throwing out punches of their own.
Within a few seconds, the two rows of children became a giant melee of children wailing on each other in what is essentially a giant group battle.
Will looked at the group of children his ¡°age¡±, going to town and beating the shit out of each other. Bleeding lips and black eyes already become a unified look they shared. Clearly feminism wasn¡¯t a thing here because the girls were doing just as good as the guys.
It was obvious that High Elder BewitchingRabbit did not expect this outcome, her eyes were wide as she looked at the giant continuing melee fight that was starting to hit the minute and half mark.
Will still thought that her pupils should be heart-shaped to make her pink eyes¡but was distracted when a sudden kick hit him right in the stomach.
He was forced backwards by the blow, sitting on the ground and holding his tummy Will felt the pain slowly register in his brain.
[Ow, OW OW. Who would hit a bystander? WTF! I¡¯ll show you dumb kids!]
Angered, Will did the usual thing. He reached for his connections to his minions ¨C and felt nothing.
[Huh?]
This time a fist connected perfectly with his cheek, Will almost felt his spine go ¡°SNAP¡± before he practically flew in the direction of the blow.
[Who the hell feeds their children steroids at this age? These are like the blows of real fighters!]
Panicking now, Will looked around for a place to hide. He was only an otaku, when did he ever get hit? He hadn¡¯t even been in an actual fight his entire life!
Will didn¡¯t count that thing with Hey-Hey, cause well he wasn¡¯t exactly fighting per se, more of a toddler hitting a unresisting sandbag.
This was a real fight!
It seemed that Will¡¯s cowardly move was seen by some of the other battling children as three of them came in his direction, fighting each other the entire way.
One girl punched the only guy in the group right in the face. He staggered back only to kick her stomach with a quick blow. That was when the other girl punched the back of his head with a fully winded back swing blow.
[How the hell is he still alive? His neck should be broken!]
Will who was watching this turned the other way and started running like a bitch.
Pride? Being a man? Ha! Will was a strong advocate for gender equality. If a girl can stay in the back and run like a bitch, so can a dude.
Will stumbled a few times, but he kept running for one of the ¡°classrooms¡± on the parameter of the ¡®practice grounds¡¯ as it was called.
A hand grabbed the back of his nice silky robes; Will started cussing in his head.
[When did children start running like the good-damn Flash?]
Turning around, Will was greeted by the first girl of the trio who looked at him with bruises on both eyes, her lips with bleeding and blood was rushing down her nose.
In other words she looked scary as hell.
She didn¡¯t even say anything before throwing a punch with her other hand while still holding onto his collar.
Behind her, Will could just see slightly past her growing fist that the other girl was duking it out with the guy.
Then her fist connected with his eye.
[Fuck! When did children get this vicious? This has to be the steroids! I¡¯m gonna call the police on their parents and their asses! I didn¡¯t even do anything to them! Why is she so intent on beating my ass?]
Will tried to block out the pain before almost instinctively reaching out for him minons¡¯ mana again. This time they responded.
Will felt his strength grow as mana converged into his mana pool.
[Ahahahaha! FUCK YOU!]
He looked with his only good eye at the surprised girl holding him as he threw a sudden punch at her.
She redirected her mid-swing punch aimed at his face towards his fist.
Their fists connected - hers broke.
¡°CRACKLE! SNAP!¡±
Suddenly Will lost the anger that was roaring in his head. He felt the sensation as his fist broke hers clearly. It sounded like chips being opened then stomped on and felt just as similar.
Without even uttering a sound, the girl crouched down; tears were coming down her face.
¡°What is happening here?! STOP FIGHTING!¡±
A loud voice come from above them as everyone stopped beating each other up and looked up in unison.
A floating giant centipede was flying above them, with several familiar looking figures on her back.
Chapter 19: End of Arc 0 – A new start
Grand Elder LifeCentipede¡¯s yell caused all the fighting children to stop mid-strike in their bloodthirsty brawl to the death.
Will looked closer and he could clearly see his minions along with his sister just chilling out on Grand Elder LifeCentipede¡¯s back. As she got closer, Grand Elder LifeCentipede shrunk in size as she turned back to her hot human form before landing on the ground with her passengers beside her.
¡°High Elder BewitchingRabbit! What are you doing? You were supposed to teach them basic fighting techniques! They look like they were trying to murder each other! Look at her!¡± Grand Elder LifeCentipede pointed at the girl Will had just being ¡®fighting¡¯, ¡°Her hands need help right away! Why didn¡¯t you do anything when this happened?¡±
As Grand Elder LifeCentipede was drowning High Elder BewitchingRabbit in criticism, Will was trying to do what he did best ¨C ignore his responsibilities and problems.
[Wow, didn¡¯t expect to see them here! What a strange day this has been!]
*Stare*
[I also totally didn¡¯t know that my mana link thingy with my minions is distance related! What a surprise!]
*STARE*
Awkwardly Will turned his head around to ignore the piercing look his opponent is giving him as he slowly inched away from her without drawing attention. Her tears were still coming down her face without a sound as she held her broken hand tightly with the working one.
Life is cruel sometimes.
¡°It was all HIS FAULT!¡±
Will could feel the stares from everyone else as they all turned to look at him.
[Did she just push all the blame to me? WTF?]
¡°Oh? Really now? And how is it all this one¡¯s fault?¡±
Will turned around to see High Elder BewitchingRabbit point at him with a finger and Grand Elder LifeCentipede¡¯s angry yet still hot expression on her face.
¡°He distracted me from giving the right directions and then these children just started attacking each other! I swear I demonstrated the correct method to practice the fighting techniques properly. But the moment I allowed them to do the same they just fought!¡±
Grand Elder LifeCentipede didn¡¯t look like she brought what High Elder BewitchingRabbit was blabbering about, with a sign she lifted a leg and then stomped on the ground.
Magical green light flowed from the point of contract and turned into rays of green magical light that spread all around the clearing.
Will watched in amazement as the light healed his injuries within seconds, as if time was fast forwarded or something. The girl who was sitting weakly in front of him was also bathed within this healing light. Her hand that was limp and broken moved like something was alive in her body. With a couple of cracking sounds, her hand was as good as new.
Stretching her hands, she stood up and looked at Will.
[Oh crap¡ That isn¡¯t the look of a harem member after being defeated. It¡¯s more of the look the N*R¡¯ed girl gets looking at her ex.]
Thinking rather bad thoughts, Will was distracted by the full display of power her punch had as she smashed his face with her mended hand.
[Ouch!]
Will rubbed his face with a hand.
She looked shocked at his reaction.
[HA! That¡¯s right girly! Mana shield duh. A mage¡¯s must-have for any random savage fighter that wants to beat the shit out of them!]
Will grinned at her, feeling confident with mana surging inside of him he gestured at her with his hand.
[Come on! Wanna go at me? I¡¯m all up for it! Try and whale on me if you can! I¡¯ll just take it like a man.]
Will ignored that little voice in his head asking if this was his way of apologizing to her, after all he never does that.
He also conveniently ignored the other voice that told him to drop the mana shield since if he¡¯s not being hurt then there¡¯s no point.
Seeming to accept his voiceless challenge, she started really going at it.
Punches and kicks were aimed everywhere on his body. Will simply took it like a OPed MC would and just stood there.Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
After a couple of minutes she started to breathe heavily before dropping her fighting stance.
[Well that¡¯s that I guess¡ Oh yea¡]
Will realized that the entire little show was being watched by the rest of the group including the two elders.
[Me and my problem of zoning out when I do something¡]
Will could only pretend that nothing happened and reach down to pick up Professor Bun-Bun from the ground. The little bunny had wandered over during his little show-off session and sat near them to watch the drama unfold.
Will flashed a embarrassed smile at the crowd, and ran towards the buildings again.
Well he tried to anyways.
¡°My how very interesting! I didn¡¯t know that there was a limiter on you! Odd that I didn¡¯t noticed before¡¡±
Will felt a pair of hands lift him up from the ground, squirming wildly Will could hear Grand Elder LifeCentipede¡¯s voice from behind him.
[Crap crap! I totally forgot that me being able to increase my mana pool is supposed to be a secret! Well then again¡ I really can¡¯t keep a secret. Huh. I guess that¡¯s why that happened.]
A strange expression appeared on Will¡¯s face, and just as quickly it faded away.
[*Anime Music* I need to forget it. *More Anime Music being played* Huh? Wait, what was I trying to forget? I feel like there was something that I really wanted to forget¡ and forgot what it was.]
Will¡¯s blue eyes returned back to their original color without anyone noticing.
--------------------
POV of someone FAR, FAR AWAY
Wilson Eerth sat calmly on a bench; the white magi light from the hospital ceiling covered the surroundings in a refreshing light blue color. Naturally the light healing magic in the light didn¡¯t have any effect on him, but it did lower the amount of pain he was suffering from by a bit.
A doctor walked out from one of the offices lining the white corridor, ¡°Next! Mr.Wilson Eerth please follow me.¡± One of his cybotic eyes whirling around the half of his head covered in metal. His other side used its natural eyes to look at Wilson.
Wilson stood up from his seat, following the doctor as his four tentacles moved swiftly across the clear floor.
Indicting with a hand holding Wilson¡¯s holographic paperwork, the doctor waved Wilson into the office.
Wilson idly noticed that the doctor had a three finger hand, a bit odd in these parts but nothing really special.
[Must be a traveler who settled here from a distant galaxy, makes me wonder how they operate using three fingers instead of five?]
You mean, you wonder if they would help you get more legs to help out the two you got so far.
Don¡¯t be stupid, clearly it¡¯s far more effective to have fewer fingers when operating, less annoyances to deal with. Remember, less is more. Less is more.
Wilson¡¯s face twitched as he sat down on the hovering medical examination seat the doctor pointed to.
¡°Something wrong Mr.Wilson?¡±
Wilson smiled at the doctor, noticing on his chest is a hovering hologram of the words, ¡°Dr.Koro¡±.
¡°Don¡¯t worry about it Dr.Koro, I was just thinking a bit about something.¡±
Dr.Koro sat nearby Wilson, facing him while glancing over the documents in his hands with his cybotic eye.
¡°I see. I know how you must feel right now. But I want you to know that I¡¯m here to help you. While this disease has killed many of your kind, I have recently been able to acquire an experimental drug that was developed to fight against it. However¡¡± Dr.Koro paused, ¡°You must understand, there is a reason why it is called experimental, nobody knows how or what effects it will have on you.¡±
Wilson nodded, fully aware that of the thousands of other galaxies he had traveled to. Only this one had been able to even give him a bit of hope for his existence.
[This is the last hope I am able to find, I can only wish that it cures me.]
HA! Cure you? You must be out of your mind! At this very minute your body is rebelling against you!
I must agree, the nonsense ¡®cure¡¯ is probably just some scam. I don¡¯t trust this guy. We should kill him! Wasting our time like this!
Wilson raised a hand and tapped the side of his forehead; Dr.Koro looked confused as he watched Wilson cast what appeared to be a high level spell at himself.
¡°Um, Mr.Wilson are you doing okay? I¡¯m sure I can find some kind of pain reliever somewhere around here.¡±
Dr.Koro¡¯s arms and tentacles started grasping around the empty white space they were in, pulling out random medical supplies from out of nowhere.
Waving a hand Wilson calmed down the doctor, ¡°Seriously don¡¯t worry about it. It¡¯s a past injury, nothing anyone can do now. Once something is broken, it can never be really repaired back to the same way again.¡±
Dr.Koro still looked concerned but he eventually gave in to Wilson¡¯s continuous persuasion.
¡°Alright then, I guess you agree to be one of the test subjects for this experimental drug? Going by what data I have been able to acquire from you, I think this really is your last hope.¡±
Wilson nodded again, ¡°Yes, this is my final last ditch effort to cure myself. Give me the things to sign, I sign every last one!¡±
Dr.Koro passed to Wilson the hologram paperwork, watching silently as Wilson wrote his name using ancient magical letters on the parts he needed to.
After being passed back the paperwork, Dr.Koro tossed it into the air as a tentacle pulled a small coin sized bottle out of thin air. Midway through the air, the hologram was sucked into tear in space before the tear closed on itself.
¡°Alright, this procedure is actually quite simple. Give me a drop of your existence. I¡¯ll cover it with this drug and then transplant it back into your body.¡±
Wilson used a simple mental force and a drop of existence flew out of his body. Dr.Koro opened the cap on the clear bottle and dripped the one drop of blue colored liquid onto the floating drop of existence.
¡°Alright now, don¡¯t worry and relax. Just let me take care of this.¡± Dr.Koro poked Wilson¡¯s forehead with a finger and before Wilson could even think of anything else, he passed out.
----------
A few days later
Wilson walked out the office, feeling hopeful of the future for once in a few thousand existences.
Dr.Koro had briefed him on what would happen once the drug was inside him.
The drug is designed to infect rather then cure Wilson¡¯s disease. However the end result is the same, it will first integrate the offending problems and then once every single bit of the problem is integrated it will then remove both itself and everything else connected to it.
The end result is that Wilson will be spared the torment of his own body and be himself once more.
Good luck with that one. HAHA!
Somehow I doubt anything good will happen, but if it does we¡¯ll just kill everyone! EVERYONE!
Wilson frowned.
[Well as much as myself as I can with these guys anyways¡]
Touching his head again, Wilson cast another powerful spell.
[I really wish there was something for this¡]
Signing Wilson disappeared from the hospital, flickering out of existence.
Chapter 20: A new life… of a shut-in and cultivation
Huh, I could have sworn this is what they call being grounded. But just not this literal¡
Looking around with my eyes, the yellow sand surround my head is all I can see. Clearly the ground is quite a bit closer to my face, that¡¯s with subtracting the height that I had already lost¡ I think.
Oddly enough my memory is magical in the most random of ways, all those animes and mangas are crystal clear, but my past? Phessh, I can¡¯t even remember what kind of person I was. My appearance is just empty shapes at best, I can¡¯t even tell if I was short, tall, fat, or thin.
Strange, but I¡¯ve seen enough of this scenario to take it in stride, it¡¯s not that uncommon after all.
Well at least not in animes and mangas.
¡°Alright! Boy, try to get out!¡± A rough looking man covered in hair is staring right at me.
I had to tilt my head until the back of my head touches the ground a few centimeters underneath it to stare back at his face.
It wasn¡¯t a great face, it has that touch of asian, just someone felt the need to rearrange it so they slid a knife along his face. His long shaggy black hair didn¡¯t really help his looks either. He kind of reminds me of some of those typical one-time villains with the black eyes + weird hair combo. His bulky muscular body only added to the ¡°Look I¡¯m a gangster¡± appearance. Those rags he calls clothing¡ well lets just say he looks like a gang member who just lost a turf war.
I can only blink my eyes at him, considering that I am basically buried from the neck down in the hardened yellow sand¡
Yea, I¡¯m not moving anywhere anytime soon.
I really can¡¯t understand how I get myself into these situations¡
It was only just a few minutes ago that I was hanging out in that open field place! But now I¡¯m in some kind of weird Roman coliseum, being lectured at by some middle-aged weirdo dressed like some hobo as he walked in circles around me.
Maybe if I just look innocently at him long enough he¡¯ll let me out¡
----------------
A ¡°few minutes ago¡±
I was being interrogated by Grand Elder LifeCentipede as my feet dangled in the air, of course being held like this does have a few benefits¡
If you ignore the lack of oxygen that is.
¡°Now then little one why don¡¯t you stop struggling and show me where your parents placed that limiter? I¡¯m quite curious about a treasure that can fool even my senses.¡± Her calm voice was somewhat muffled through the layers of¡ blubber, as I fought to take in a bit more air from the atmosphere. I could feel her fingers poking various parts of my body, seeming to look for something.
Look lady, I know by normal standards you¡¯re hot¡ kinda. But a MILF and a kid never get a happy ending.
Which is true most of the times, excluding certain 18+ reading not suited for my current age¡ which I too can remember crystal clearly for some reason.
Despite these suffocating circumstances, I can still faintly feel something raising up from my lower half¡
WTF? And here I thought I was like a year old¡ when did that part start responding to stimulus?
Professor Bun-Bun then bit the closest thing to its head.
*CRACK*
I can faintly recall hearing someone speaking, just far away in the distance, ¡°Oh dear¡ I accidentally put a bit too much strength there. Give me a second; I¡¯ll fix you right up.¡±
The last thing I can remember seeing is the same girl I beat up staring at me with her bright blue eyes. Such a pretty color, just like her hair¡
Strange how I never noticed it while I was fighting her.
How odd.
-------------------------
Present
Yeah¡ I¡¯m still not exactly sure how I ended up here. Weird. You¡¯d think waking up buried from the neck down would be uncomfortable. But strangely enough I have to say that this is actually really comfy.
¡°Come on lad! You can do it! Pull yourself out! GO! GO!¡±
The hobo-looking man turned into what looked like a gigantic prehistoric alligators before seeming to realize the fact and reassuming human form. Then he calmly returned back to cheering me on.
Or was it a crocodile? I could never tell the two apart¡
I have to say, the mages here really went all out in the druid department¡ well the monster version of it anyways. They seem to be all capable to turning into a human!
Still I can¡¯t really see the point to this¡
Druids turn into beasts to gain strength, speed, stamina, ect. But a monster turning into a human? What does that accomplish?
The only thing I can think of is that they are trying to decrease their stats for... reasons?
Probably some bizarre cultural practices, like that handshake thingy. Huh that reminds me, where did Mr.Bee-Bee go?
I pondered this as the hobo continued to holler at me, occasionally turning into a giant alligator before turning back.
After a few more minutes of this, he seemed to have figured out that I wasn¡¯t planning on getting out of this sand burial anytime soon.
He let out a sigh before walking directly in front of my face.
His feet is surprising clean for someone without shoes on and walking on a sandy place.
Crouching down, the hobo spoke like a normal person for the first time. ¡°Hey lad, I¡¯m trying to help you out here. Just try putting in some effort from your side will you?¡±You could be reading stolen content. Head to the original site for the genuine story.
¡°Umm, can I ask a question? Exactly what are you expecting me to do?¡±
At this point I still don¡¯t really understand the whole business of being buried, but what is with this hobo? Is he expecting me to burst out of the ground like some kind of weird bug or something?
He looks rather surprised at my question, ¡°What do you mean? I thought it was obvious, I was told that you have some kind of strange limiter. However Grand Elder LifeCentipede can¡¯t seem to find it, so she wanted to see the instant you release it.¡±
He pointed at a location in the viewing area of this weird arena; there was what looks like a crystal ball sitting on one of the seats.
So, I¡¯m gonna assume that¡¯s some kind of camera that can record? Man, it¡¯s not that big for something made in this fantasy world.
Makes me think of a certain thing that you can do with cameras¡
¡°Hey, um¡ Mr.Hobo, can I have like a few dozens of those things? I, um, wanna record the scenery?¡± I figured this name is passable to a child to say without getting beaten up anyways.
Although if this guy knows my real age, hehe, I bet I¡¯ll be on the floor right about now. Pity not even I know my real age...
¡°Sorry lad, but what did you just call me?¡± The hobo-like man leaned down until his face was just a few inches from mine.
Interestingly, his teeth are white, like really white! And there doesn¡¯t seem to be any crooked teeth either, they¡¯re all perfectly neat and straight. No bad breathe to boot!
Now that I think about it¡
Licking the inside of my mouth, and then cycling the air inside.
Its taste like clear water and smells like air¡
Huh, must be magical logic or something. I don¡¯t seem to have any weird skin either.
Could this place be¡ the place closest to anime and manga?
Do everyone here have perfectly clear skin and no bad breathe and teeth?
Adding in the no pooping part¡
¡°Hey lad, you listening?¡± The hobo waved a hand in front of my face.
Whoops, my bad. Gotta stop zoning out.
Now then what is the best line to use here?
¡°Me sorry, what did Mr.Hobo say?¡± I made sure to tilt my head just slightly, like a kitty, and widen my eyes a much as possible.
Cuteness is a skill that all good intelligent people use to their advantage.
*BONK*
OUCH!
Tears came out of my eyes; this time there isn¡¯t any acting. It was a pure instinctual reaction to blunt force trauma to my tiny little head.
Hey man! Watch it! What would I do if I forgot my name? Or more importantly, all the badass animes and such?
¡°Alright lad, let¡¯s try that again. I am Elder EarthGator, understand? Now repeat after me, Earth, Gator, alright?¡± Mr.Hobo or Elder EarthGator held a fist above my head as he uses his other hand to indict for me to copy.
¡°Okay, Elder EarthGator.¡± Blinking away my tears, I let out the tension from my body that I subconsciously tighten when I saw the fist the size of my head.
Huh, did my mana pool increase? Is my minions nearby or something?
¡°Good lad, alright, it seems that today you¡¯re not feeling it. I¡¯ll give you a hand and get you out of there.¡±
Elder EarthGator touched the ground from his leaning position and a brown colored light flashed before diving into the sandy ground.
I could feel like thousands of tiny little hands pushing me up slowly from the ground, and in a few seconds I was out!
Though it is kinda cold out here¡
Feeling odd, I looked down at myself.
Yeah, I thought so.
Turning to look at Elder EarthGator, ¡°Um, Elder EarthGator, what happened to my silky blue clothing thingy?¡±
He doesn¡¯t seem to have any reaction to me being in my birthday suit, or rather how come his rags weren¡¯t ripped apart when he transforms?
He gives me a uninterested look, ¡°Those things? They were turned into nothing when Grand Elder LifeCentipede healed you. Don¡¯t worry about it too much, you¡¯ll find a new set of clothing back at your lodging. I¡¯ll bring you over there.¡±
He picked me up with one hand around my stomach before jumping headfirst at the ground.
Right as I was gonna start screaming for help from a lunatic thinking he¡¯s some kind of worm or something, the ground literally parted for Elder EarthGator.
It was like he was some kind of magnet and the surrounding ground was the same charge.
Then it dawned to me¡
He is a alligator of the earth element¡
Which means - he is currently swimming.
Well now that mystery is solved gotta make some small talk, I just feel like I suck at those. Well gotta say something, anything¡
¡°Hey, Elder EarthGator, are you related to Elder EarthStag? You guys basically share the same name and all.¡±
Ouch, hey man you hands are getting somewhat tight there.
The surrounding stopped moving as Elder EarthGator halted in place. Around us is total darkness illuminated only by the brown light that is creating the small area of empty space between us and the rest of the earth.
I¡¯m starting to feel claustrophobic again¡
¡°Hey lad, WHO did you say I was related to? I could have sworn you just called me a herbivore, you didn¡¯t right? It must have been my bad hearing, maybe even my imagination. Otherwise I might show you why I pride myself as a member of the proud carnivores!¡±
Elder EarthGator¡¯s eyes are scary! They¡¯ve turned all red and shinning in the dim light. He looks like a drug addict with withdrawn!
Got to make him chill before I lose my goddamn mind in this cramped space, deep breathes, deep breathes. No need to panic, just say something good and he¡¯ll be back on his way.
¡°Sorry Elder EarthGator, you must have been hearing things! HAHA, this place is really weird isn¡¯t it, let¡¯s get out fast before we all start hearing more weird things!¡± Trying to look as innocent as possible, I plastered a fake, yet realistic, smile on my face. Trying to hold back the trembling my body is getting from the adrenaline rush is also taxing on the mind.
Elder EarthGator gave one more humph, before returning back to floating/swimming through the ground like the way a certain religious person parted a certain sea.
Though this one isn¡¯t made up and isn¡¯t directed at those with weaker minds who couldn¡¯t believe in themselves.
After what seemed like eternity, Elder EarthGator started ¡®swimming¡¯ upwards and then popped out of the ground.
The hole he made behind him closed the moment he was out.
Good thing too, I was starting to wonder if the ground was safe to build on if someone like him was tunneling all over the place.
The last thing I wanted would be to live an in house that collapses because one day someone like Elder EarthGator felt like tunneling under my home.
¡°There it is lad, your new home.¡± Elder EarthGator released his grip on my stomach and dropped me on the ground. His other hand was pointing at a... cave?
The cave in question is a hole situated inside a gigantic mountain; I could see many other holes that are drilled on the side of the mountain facing me. Clearly these holes likely belong to other people; hell the nearest hole to mine is just a few dozens meters away!
¡°Also if I hear anything like that, ¡®hallucination¡¯ again, you know what would happen right?¡± He gave me a glance that I read as ¡°I¡¯ll-eat-your-sorry-excuse-of-a-meal¡± look.
I vigorously nodded back at him.
¡°Alright then off you go.¡± Elder EarthGator gave me a wave before diving back into the ground.
Looking around, I was in some kind of thinning forest area, and the mountain is directly in front of me. It seems that whoever designed this built the lodging directly after the forest right inside the mountain.
Well, doesn¡¯t seem to be anyone nearby to ask questions.
Looking at the sky I can see that it was already dipping beneath the horizon.
Man it was one hell of a day wasn¡¯t it? I guess its time to check out my new home.
Well it¡¯ll be my home until I find where my minions and Big Sissy went anyways, that or my new parents¡
I quickly walked into the cave opening, inside was only a few items.
A small bag, almost like a pouch, and a mat.
That was it. I didn¡¯t even have another room in my so-called ¡°lodging¡±. You walk into the cave opening and after the entrance is a few meters of space¡ that¡¯s the whole area.
¡°Okay, okay, This is alright. I¡¯ll just see what we got here.¡±
Talking to myself to calm my agitation, I opened the string bound opening of the pouch and peered in.
All I can see is pitch black.
Weird.
I figured that they wouldn¡¯t give a child anything dangerous so I reached my hands into the opening. Before I knew it, a few items that clearly shouldn¡¯t be able to fit in the pouch flew out.
AHA! It must be some kind of space magical item! Not bad, not bad.
On the rocky ground are four items; a book, written in the language that I still can read, some clear small container holding a round marble? Several sets of clothing plus shoes sat in a pile, all in various shades of red for some reason, and lastly a black badge of some kind.
Figuring I should probably suit up first, I grabbed a random red robe from the pile and started dressing up.
After stuffing my little feet into the shoes I sat on the mat to check out the book.
Somehow, I could understand the book even though I couldn¡¯t read jack crap of the actual language.
The book¡¯s title is ¡°Introduction to Cultivation¡±.
Somehow I felt offended; I am trying to become a mage! Not a god damn farmer!
