《My Second Life at Asura World》 [Prologue] All I Wanted is a Happy Life... Am I going to die now? I thought this to myself as my blurry vision caught the figure of two people, looking at me in a horror. Despite the gaping hole in the side of my stomach which flooded my whole body with blood, my leg pointed in an awkward position that instantly told it was dislocated or even broken, and bruises throughout my chest and my back, I can''t really feel any pain. Maybe it was too painful to the point where all my senses went numb? I don''t know. What I do know is that I''m on the verge of dying with no doubts... The noises around me felt like it was from a faraway place now. I won''t know that the police have come if not from the blue and red light that illuminated the dark alley, the place where I lay down, full of blood, with several thugs whimpering around me, and my ''friend'' cowering in the corner while watching me die. So this is how I ended, huh? What a pity.... I slowly closed my eyes, gave in to the darkness that''s ready to swallow me. For 16 years, I had lived my life like a complete loser. Like a bug, a trash, someone not worthy of being in a center of attention. If I may say this myself, my life is what they called miserable. I was left in the street by my parents when I was still a baby. Even until 16 years later, I never met them nor knew who they were. I was adopted by an unloving couple who got divorced 3 years after they took me in. The woman left the house, leaving me with the old man who only knew how to use his strength to abuse me every day without a single break. My body will always be covered by bruises or scars every time I go to school. With a weak body that will fall from a slight touch, a ragged-like uniform, and messy appearances, I was the laughing stock of the whole school. From elementary until high school, there will always be a group of students who would spend their time ''playing'' with me. The bullies. The teacher turned a blind eye about this event. Even if they did react, no one really saved me. Instead of making them stop, it only got worse. If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation. That was my life until now. Being bullied, physically abused by my foster father, and being treated like a ghost by the adults and other students, I wonder why I even preserved until now? I can''t remember even a single day when I lived my life like a normal person... A happy life... Something that felt impossible for someone destined to live a life this miserably. When was the last time I genuinely smiled? Laugh? I don''t even know what it felt to be happy.... Like I said before, what a pity.... And yet, as if all of it was not enough, I died before I could even reach adulthood. I died, saving my own bullies from a group of thugs. I should''ve been able to escape if I wanted to. But I choose to stay instead, earnestly trying to fight with the thugs alone while the classmates who bullied me hugged their own knee in the corner of the alley, too scared to even move their feet. I fought for them. I saved them. Although, of course, it led me to how I am right now. Dying. I should''ve regretted saving someone who abused me all the time at school. But for some unknown reason, I didn''t regret it. Maybe I was already too tired of living to the point where I didn''t even care if I die right now? I don''t have anything in this world anyways. I can leave with no regrets. Maybe that was why I jumped to save my own bully without thinking before.... If that was the case... I''m relieved... Haha...ha... Hahahaha.... Yeah right. As if that could ever happen. Relieved? What a joke... If I''m being 100% honest, I¡¯m so mad right now.... The reason why I managed to pull through for 16 years... The reason I can stand back up again after being beaten up by my foster father... The reason I continued going to school even though I knew I would only get bullied again... All of it... Was for one reason only... Because I still hold on to the hope that ''I can also have a happy life someday....'' Silly hope, I know. But that was my only way to survive. Like a magic spell, I hold on to the belief that someday, I can also be happy... Like everyone else... Because that was all I ever wanted... A happy life. But well, what can I say? I died at 16 years old from saving my bullies from a thug before I could even experience happiness.... What a pity indeed.... It''s over now... It was all over..... Or so I thought.... [Chapter 1] A Hero? Dont make me laugh.... A layer of light pierced through my closed eyes, making me frown my eyebrows. My senses slowly came back to me and I could feel a sharp pain in my chest. By the time I realized it, I was already gasping for airs, filling my lungs with it while also coughing water out of it. I slowly turned my body to the right, coughing more water from my mouth. My whole body was soaking wet and, despite the sun being stinging hot right above me, my body was shivering from cold. I felt like I was nearly drowned and somehow managed to survive in the end. I tried to open my eyes, trying to focus my blurry vision. When my eyes finally adjusted to the surrounding area, what I saw bewildered me. It appeared I was laying in an opening near a river with towering trees around me. Forest. I was in the middle of a forest. The clothes I had in my body were soaking wet and full of dirt. Some of the leaves stuck in my hair. But what shocked me the most was my appearance. My once pale skin was now a beautiful glowing white if I exclude the dirt that covered most of it. My hair was no longer black with uncut bangs that hid my face. Instead, it was in a silver blue color. Only by touching it, I can tell it was carefully being taken care of. It was a fact that my physique was smaller than the average person around my age. That was also the reason I got picked at a lot. But this time, I can say for sure that I was way smaller than before. My whole body looks like a toddler''s body. It was tiny. I was convinced by this when I crawled to the riverbank to take a look at my reflection. I can''t help but be amazed. What I saw was a child-like round face with flawless skin, pointy nose, tiny lips, and two shining azure round eyes looking back at me. I look no more than a 3-years-old boy. My mouth was slightly ajar as various thoughts were merging in my head. I''m... Alive? I was sure I was dying a while ago. I still can remember the feeling of being swallowed by the darkness. Then again, it was impossible that I managed to survive given the amount of blood I lost and all of the injuries I suffered. And yet here I was, leaning towards the river with eyes widened in shock from my completely different appearances, still breathing and healthy if I excluded the fact that I really looked like someone who nearly drowned in this very river. I''m alive.... But how? While I was absorbed with my thoughts, a sound from my right side jolted me back to reality. I readied my two tiny fists in front of me in case a wild animal came closer to me. I''m in the forest after all. But there was no sign of the animal. Instead, a hologram-like screen suddenly popped up in front of me with two big eyes covering the whole screen. "A..aaa... Test. Test.... Is this working? How do I use this exactly?" A sound came up from the screen as the two eyes moved a bit. What the hell is this? Am I hallucinating? Another sound came up. This time, it was an annoyed sound of a woman with a beautiful soothing voice. "You''re too close to the screen, Zyon. Step back." As soon as it said that, the two big eyes slowly shrank, revealing an old man''s face with long white hair and beard. His expression reminded me of a friendly grandpa in the neighborhood who is not familiar with gadgets and technology. He even seemed troubled on the screen, not sure of what to do. "Like this?" He asked. Now, his face and beard filled the whole screen. "*Sigh* still too close. You''re using the whole screen for yourself!" Said the woman''s voice from earlier. I''m not sure what happened but the next thing I know is that there was a beautiful woman appearing on the screen, pulling the old man away from it so I can see more things. "Ah, so this is how it works huh? As expected of the goddess of creation, Creace." The oldman chuckled softly as he smiled Meanwhile, the woman rolled her eyes as she muttered "Even a three years old earthlings can do this..." I was still dazed by all of this. Who is this old man? Did he just call the woman the goddess of creation? What is this hologram-like screen in front of me? What the hell is happening right now? "*Cough* You must''ve had a ton of questions in your head right now, right? Don''t worry, we''ll answer it for you. Well, most of it at least. I''m what you earthlings called as god. The god of wisdom and knowledge, Zyon." As if it can read my mind, the old man answered with a big smile, ignoring the mutter from the woman he called Goddess of creation. This is crazy. Am I being pranked or something? I looked around me, carefully trying to spot a camera or a mic that can tell me this is just a prank. But then again, how can it be? I''m supposed to be dead, right? "I''m sure you wanted to ask your question directly. But unfortunately, this is just a recording we prepared in advance to fill out most of your confusion. I''m deeply sorry for that." "Oh really?" "Yes!" Answered the old man, still with a friendly big smile, leaving me looking at him with a flat expression. Didn''t he say I can''t ask my question directly because it was only a recording? He just answered me directly just now. And yet he claimed himself to be the god of wisdom and knowledge.... What in the world.... And please stop with that smile. Rather than friendly, it look kinda stupid now. Did he realize this? I can see the woman behind him covering her face with one of her hands, giving up at the old man''s behavior. I feel you.Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on Royal Road. "Let''s go straight to the point, shall we? As you may already know, You have died. You are being reincarnated to this world inside a three years old body. It''s similar to the reincarnated stories you used to read back in your old life. As to why you are being reincarnated, we gods and goddesses wanted to thank you and show our gratitude." The old man''s face turned a bit sad as he stopped his words. "Well, we wanted to thank you in person but it''s impossible given the term of your soul. When you died, your soul was at the edge of disappearing into pieces. We have no choice but to transfer it right away to your new body. I let you have your old memories in hope it can help you in this life." This time, another beautiful woman appeared on the screen. In contrast to the so-called Goddess of creation who has the feeling of cleverness and creativity, this one has a gentle feeling around her. She has a really friendly face. But for some reason, I get the feeling she will turn more like a devil if she is angry or displeased. "Oh, and I''m the goddess of Life and Death, Viarte. I''m the one responsible for transferring your soul to the world you are currently in." She smiled as if she could read my confused expression. Is this really just a recording? I''m doubting that more and more now... "Yeah, we haven''t introduced ourselves, yes? I''m the god of combatant, Lupta. Nice to finally meet ''cha, human." Another figure appeared on the screen. It was a muscle man with a toned skin and wild brown hair, which reminded me of a pro wrestler in a poster I once saw on my way to school, which, not really a pleasant memory for a reason I don''t wanna say... Not long after him, a fat and short looking man appeared, slightly pushing the muscle man to give him space on the screen. Zyon, the god of wisdom and knowledge, was pushed to the back by his big figure. "Oou, we introduce ourselves, now? Fine then. This kind one will say his name. I''m the god of merchants, Ubitor. The richest of all gods." "Gentlemans, shouldn''t it be ladies first?" A voice interrupted and suddenly, another woman appeared between the god of merchant and combatant. She is as stunning as the other woman, with a slim figure, black long hair, and a sorcerer''s appearances. "I''m the goddess of magic, Lula." What a complete mess... Seriously, the way they tried to shoved others so that they could appear on the screen is somewhat.... I can''t even put it into words. If not for the fact that an unknown floating hologram-like screen appeared in front of my eyes, I''m alive when I should''ve died, and I''m currently inside a three-years-old boy''s body in the middle of an unknown forest, I would never, even the smallest bit, believe that they are gods.... "Ok, times up. We''re getting distracted here!" Zyon suddenly shoved the three gods and goddess who was blocking him to the side of the screen. But before he could say another word, a man suddenly popped up so close to the screen. He has a calming aura around him and he kind of reminded me of elves. Long hair, beautiful face despite being a man, and green eyes. "I haven''t introduced myself yet. I''m the god of nature, Felle." Now I feel like slapping my own face.... A loud coughing voice was heard and Zyon once again shoved all of the other gods and goddess out of his way. "As I was saying before... We wanted to thank you. You see, some circumstances made the earth unstable. If it goes on, the earth will be forced to come to its end. We, gods and goddesses, are trying so hard to stabilize the earth. As you may know, there will be no lights if there is no darkness. And-" "There will be no death if there is no life." Cut the Goddess of Life and death, suddenly showed up next to the god of wisdom. "And there will be no hero if there is no evil." "No riches if there are no poor." Now the gods popped up again one by one, continuing Zyon''s words, until Zyon once again pushed them to the side. "Enough." He said, clearly annoyed that his words are constantly being cut by the others. Well, I won''t blame him. It has been roughly 10 minutes and I feel like we haven''t covered even half of the discussion. I wish there was a fast forwarded button... "Ekhem... Let''s continue. Where was I again? Oh yeah, The earth was unstable. Your life has been really difficult for 16 years... it was a result of the unbalance in the earth, causing you to suffer way more than you have to. I, myself, find it heartbreaking. But due to you too, the balance was slowly restored. Your act to save your own bullies opened up their hearts to do good deeds in the future. Your name would spread across the country in the future, moved the stone-hearted people and balanced the earth. You saved the earth from collapsing and helped our job greatly. But ironically, you will never be able to experience the balanced earth. You have saved earth without knowing but you can''t eat the fruit of your success. For that, we felt so bad if we were to let you die just like that...'''' The old man stopped to catch his breath. The other gods and goddesses slowly walked inside the screen. I can clearly see the seven gods there, smiling wryly at the screen. Some with a sad face that they tried to hide, the others didn''t bother to hide it at all. The goddess of life and death took a step forward while grasping her hands. "We came to the conclusion to reincarnate you to the world you are currently in. We wanted you to have another life where you can live happily to your fullest to repay your efforts. I even left all the skill you had from your previous life in this life." I stayed silent, staring blankly towards the screen with an expressionless face. "We have all bestowed our blessings for you. The way this world works is mostly similar to the RPG game you played in your past life to make it easier for you to understand. Every person there has a status panel that displays their status, level, skill, and so on. But for you, I added an extra bonus. There are also inventory, stores, quests, and daily gifts. Daily gift will give you a random item each day. Inventory will be unlimited and you can sort it the way you wanted it. Completing quest will give you an experience to level up and grant you a game coin (GM). You can use it to buy various goods from the store." Said the goddess of creation. If I remember it correctly, her name is Creace. "I added the goods in the store from my personal collection. All of them will be useful for your expenses there. It will be unlimited and you can find a lot of things there. You won''t have to worry about a single thing." The fa- i mean, the god of merchants spoke up. The god of wisdom and knowledge clapped his hand, bringing the ''discussion'' to its end. "Well then, I have left three books inside your inventory. One is a guide book about all the things you need to know about this world, it''s people, blessings, and power, second is a tutorial book left by Creace to familiarize you with the game system, and lastly, a book of beast and plants from Felle. Creace created the system for you tobe able to enjoy your life like a game. Of course, with a little bit of easiness so that you won''t stressed over it. We hope that with all of this, you can have an enjoyable and happy life in this world. We thank you from deep inside our hearts. If you happened to came across a crunch, please don''t hesitate to come and greet us. We will be able to communicate face to face that way." Zyon''s old man smile showed up again, letting out the friendly grandpa next door feelings. "With that being said, we wish you good luck and bid you farewell for now. So long, hero." Creace came closer in view. Her breathtaking smile filled the whole screen. Just when it was about to disappeared, Zyon''s said in the last minute "Oh I forgot to-" and then silent. He didn''t manage to finish his words because the screen already disappeared. I was left sitting alone in the opening, speechless. To be honest, I was laughing in the first half of the ''recording''. I can''t help it. Who would''ve thought that the so-called Gods and Goddesses can behave like that? It was a bit silly but amusing at the same time. But in the latter half of it, I was mostly quiet. Only staring blankly at the screen. My mind was filled with a lot of information that I have yet to absorb. Hero, huh? Don''t make me laugh.... They were right when they said it was unfair for me. I have suffered for 16 years... 16 years full of abuse. Not a single day in my life that my body was clear from wounds. When the old one disappeared, a new one was made. That''s how it was... And after all that, they said I''m a hero who saved earth? I let out a deep sigh, trying to relieve the tight feeling in my chest. I still felt angry about how my past life was. But now, I have a new life... No use of getting holed up in the past. I slowly tried to stand up. Because of this tiny three-years-old body of mine, it was rather difficult to move around. No, I''m just still not used to it. Well, nobody would adjust right away when their body suddenly shrank, right? New life, new things to do. Since I''m here already, best to explore it to the fullest, right? In the past, I used to play games in my room whenever my foster father is not around. I also read online books about reincarnation stories so I can easily grasp the basics of it. Now, let my new life begin. [Chapter 2] Luminous Fontessle I have a lot of problems.... I mean, yeah sure, nobody would adapt right away when they suddenly got flung into another world with a new body and new environment. There will be this and that, a couple things that will be troubling and so on. But even after 3 days has passed since I got teleported into this world, I still can¡¯t get used to this freaking 3 years old body of mine. The feeling of being inside this tiny body when you were a teenage boy in your 16 is just too weird¡ It¡¯s a real pain in the @ss to try to navigate your way through the thick forest with uneven ground, massive rocks everywhere, and roots sticking out from the ground. Literally, with only two tiny legs that easily lose balance when walking even in flat ground, I lost count on how many times I fell in my butt¡. What worse is, I¡¯ve been trying so hard to find a way out of this forest but even after 3 days walking, I still haven¡¯t seen even a single trace of civilization. Heck, this forest doesn¡¯t even seem like it has been touched by humans. Just where the heck am I?! Why do the gods and goddesses have to make me reincarnate in the forest anyway?! Sure, I¡¯m grateful that I am given a second chance to live my life. At least this time, I¡¯m gonna make sure I won¡¯t live like my past self. The gods and goddesses even said they wish me to have a happy life this time. They bestowed their blessings to me and picked a suitable life for me so I can enjoy it. But shouldn¡¯t they tell me about this world and my current position at least? And that is not the only thing that they forgot to tell me. After the video footage - if it¡¯s really just a recording - ended, I tried to open my status panel and there are two things that caught my attention. [Name : Luminous Fontessle] [Title : The One Favored by the Gods, Reincarnator, The second son of The Fontessle Family] Just to make everything clear, my name is not Luminous. At least that is not my name in my past life. So what is all that about being the second son of the Fontessle family? I had no idea whatsoever. That is what troubles me the most: The background story of this body. Just looking at it makes me know for sure that this is not just a random body that is being created by the gods and goddesses for me. My condition after I was being transported into this body is also weird. I said I felt like someone who was almost drowned, right? Correction, I really drowned. I think since my soul took over this body, it managed to survive in the end. But the real questions still remain, who is the original owner of this body? How did a three years old boy end up being in the forest so far away from civilization? Did he get lost? Is his family searching for him right now? If they do, how am I supposed to find them? What if I came from a twisted family who intended to kill their own son and abandoned him in the forest?! Will there be an assassin coming to kill me then?? This is a HUGE problem, isn¡¯t it?! It¡¯s super important! And yet, Zyon claimed himself to be the god of wisdom and knowledge... This is outrageous... I never knew god can be so forgetful... Anyway, after another long walk, I decided to take a rest and sat down next to a nearby tree. Seriously, there is no end to this forest. My plan was to find a nearby town to gather information about my family. But forget about finding a town, even after 3 days walking, I can¡¯t find a single human being anywhere. Great, I have only been in this world for a few days and my first plan already failed. While I was trying to sort out my anger, I heard a rustling from the bushes not far from me. I straightened my back, staying on guard. This forest is full of beasts and monsters. I think I get the point of why no human can be found around here. Beasts are popping up every now and then. I even met some powerful beast three times when they should¡¯ve been hard to find from what I read in the book of Beast and Plant from Felle, the god of nature. All I could do at the time was run, of course. I won¡¯t be so stupid to risk my life when I just got it back less than a week. I can hear the rustling even clearer this time. The big bushes in front of me are definitely moving just now. Should I run? Just when I was about to decide to run away, another loud voice was heard. This time, it¡¯s from my stomach¡ Ugh, this body¡ I just ate a moment ago and I¡¯m already hungry again... Guess I have to fight then. Beast meat is not that bad after all. I can just make a run for it if it¡¯s something dangerous. Determined to hunt for my lunch, I stood up on my feet, slowly observed the bushes. The rustling became louder and louder and suddenly, a rabbit-like creature with white fur and a unicorn horn in its head jumped out of the bushes. It¡¯s a horned rabbit, an E rank monster. For this, I let out a relieved sigh. Thank god it¡¯s not a high-rank monster. I have defeated this one before and its meat was crazy good. The horned rabbit noticed me and started to glare at me with its two tiny red eyes, ready to charge into me with its big, sharp horn. I lifted my hand, facing the palm of it towards the horned rabbit, picturing a swirling fire. I can feel a certain amount of energy being sucked out of my body and gathered in front of my palm. This is it. ¡°Fiwe Bwal!¡± Ah, curse this undeveloped body! My pronunciation is all a mess. But at least it still reacted to my unclear incantation. A fire started swirling in the form of a ball on my palm and shot out towards the horned rabbit in a blink of an eye. *BOOM* I covered my face with my left hand to subside the heat from my magic. As soon as the fire disappeared, I put both my hands down. Did I use too much power? I took a look at the place where the horned rabbit was supposed to be. The big bushes from before and the green grass on the ground is now covered in black, burnt by the fireball, and, there it is, my lunch, laying dead in the middle of the burnt ground, blend in perfectly with the burnt ground. The white fur of the horned rabbit was completely gone. Oh great, I burnt it. I should¡¯ve used wind magic instead of fire magic... Now my lunch is overcooked Why is it so hard to control my power?? Ugh, whatever. It seems that the inner part is not too overcooked. I can at least eat that. I took a tiny knife I got from the daily gift the other day out of my inventory and started to cut the burnt meat of the rabbit. One thing I love the most about this world is magic. It really exists here. Not just magic, there are all sorts of things in here that can only be found in a fantasy book back on earth. Elves, dwarves, spirits, gnomes, beastmens, dragons, demons, mermaid/merman, and many more. Every RPG gamer¡¯s and fantasy lover''s dream are here. They even have adventurer guilds and dungeons to explore. This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there. Leaving the fantasy thingy aside, the world I am currently in is called Asura. It consisted of one big main continent with the same name that is divided into 4 major kingdoms. The first one is Kaselius, the kingdom of humans and the biggest kingdom among the 4 main kingdoms. It covered almost half of the right side of the continent. The civilization here is much more advanced than the other 3 kingdoms, making it the main civilization of Asura. The second is Eltares Kingdom. Ruled by Elves and reside in the north side of the Asura continent. Their territory mostly consists of dense forests that are rich with rare herbs and mana, an entity that is crucial for using magic. This makes the elves known as great potion makers and great sorcerers. The third is Tiero, the kingdom of beastmen. It is located in the west part of the continent. The land there is full of dungeons and monsters, making it a perfect hunting place for hunters and an exciting place to explore for adventurers. This is also the reason why beastmens are known for their incredible strength. Lastly, there is the Grovent Kingdom in the south part of the continent. It is a kingdom led by Dwarves. In the book, the south area is mostly a desert biome with rock sturdy cliffs everywhere. They have the greatest mining source which makes them an excellent blacksmith with the finest quality goods. What makes it more interesting, everyone here can use magic. In the guide book, it is said that magic is used on a daily basis. Of course, the amount of magic that can be used differs for each person. There are people who can only use simple magic such as summoning a ball of light to illuminate their surroundings or people who can use high-class magic that can instantly wipe out a cliff with one spell. At first, I¡¯m not too sure how to use it. The book didn¡¯t mention how to let out mana from your body and transform it into magic. But thanks to my incredible imagination and the knowledge from my past life, I somehow manage to make my first ever fireball. I can do simple magic for other elements too. Fyi, there are 4 basic elements (wind, fire, water, and earth) and 2 special elements (darkness and light). Each of them can make a different element when combined with the right one. For example, wind and water together can form Ice elements, fire and earth will make metal elements, a bit of fire and wind will result in lightning elements, etc. For darkness and light, the 2 special elements, their power is a bit unusual. Some will say it¡¯s a very useful magic element. But there are also others that view these elements as nothing more than sub-elements. People with powerful control over light magic can make them able to use healing magic or purification magic while darkness magic has the opposite effects. Darkness magic is often linked with evil magic. Praise me for my effort to read this thick book. Seriously. I was shocked when I realized how many pages it has. It is almost as big as my tiny heads. I know Zyon''s said that it consists of everything I need to know about this world but can he at least make it smaller? I''m still 3, for goodness'' sakes! Well, it¡¯s too late for that. I sat down on a fallen trunk and started to eat my burnt lunch. Not bad. The meat is tender and juicy. Despite being overcooked because of my magic, the taste is still good. Ah, I forgot to check today¡¯s quest. ¡°[Quest]¡± I called out before taking another bite of my lunch. Almost instantly, a boardlike screen appeared floating in front of my eyes, revealing the list of today¡¯s quests from F rank to SSS rank. I filtered out quests from D rank and higher and only viewed F and E rank. This is what I¡¯ve been doing while trying to find a nearby town, completing simple quests from F to E rank and earn some game money. On my first day, I realized how many things were being sold in the store. It has everything you can imagine. Seriously, there are even a ferrari, lamborghini, and a modern mansion like the one tony stark in m*rvel has. It¡¯s crazy, just like the price of it. I carefully read the list of F and E rank quests. Everyday, there will only be 10 F rank and 9 E rank quests available. The higher the rank of quest is, the fewer it is. There is only one SSS rank, which is eliminating an SSS rank boss inside an SSS rank dungeon at the demon¡¯s forest. The rewards are enough to make me able to buy all the things inside the store, including Tony Stark¡¯s mansion. But that¡¯s just the same as seeking for death, even for an S rank adventurer. So¡. nope. Not interested. My gaze stopped when I saw one of the F rank quests was already completed. [Eliminate 1 F rank monster] Wow, I didn¡¯t expect getting my lunch would complete one of my quests. I tapped at it to see the reward. My eyes widened when 150 GM and 100 exp was given to me from completing the quests. This is more than I imagine. With this, the GM I have been saving to buy a particular book in the store is enough now. I hurriedly called out [Store] and went to the information sections. A large amount of books are displayed on the screen. My finger tapped at one of the books with a plain black cover. [100 Useful Ways in Using Mana]. Without giving a second thought, I used up 500 GM and bought it. A notification popped up, saying I¡¯ve successfully bought the book and it has been stored inside my inventory. I have never read a book to learn magic. Like I said, all the magic skill I have right now is due to my imagination and the knowledge from my past life. But none of them are helpful to find a way out of this forest. That¡¯s why I¡¯ve been searching for methods to do it in the store. Something like searching magic or detection magic. That was when I stumbled upon this book. I took out the book from my inventory and impatiently flipped through it. I stopped right when I found what I¡¯ve been looking for. Detection Magic. I can¡¯t help but smile widely at my success. I really felt like a little boy who just got the toy he always dreamed of. Finally, with this, I can easily find another human being and ask for help. I can finally be free from this freaking forest! I finished the last bite of my lunch before standing up, feeling excited at the thought of meeting another being for the first time in this world. After carefully reading how it works and making sure that I understand it completely, I closed my eyes, readied myself to cast the spell. Once again, I can feel an amount of energy being sucked out of my body. This time, I let it all out to my surroundings. ¡°[Detwection Magwic]¡± I shouted, a bit cursing myself again at my poor pronunciation. But it worked out in the end. I can feel the mana that I let out suddenly burst out to every direction, hitting everything on its way, giving me a full view of everything in a radius of 2 km around me. I found it! About half kilometer to the east, I can feel the presence of several people grouping together. My heart was thumping loudly in my chest as I opened my eyes and started to run towards that direction. After 3 days walking without any sense of direction, I finally have a lead of where I¡¯m heading. I don¡¯t know how I did it. But in just 10 minutes, I eventually arrived at a small opening in the forest where I can see a group of people gathering together. There are a total of 3 people, 1 human and 2¡ Beastmens! I can¡¯t be mistaken. That cat ears on their heads and the fluffy tails sticking out of their back, it¡¯s a real beastmen! They were busy packing their belongings, preparing to leave. But for some reasons, I¡¯m a bit hesitant to approach them. Yes, I¡¯m happy that I finally met another human being. I even met a beastmen, something I¡¯m dying to experience in my past life, which is impossible to happen. But the way they look alarmed me. They didn¡¯t seem like adventurers or hunters. They have a bit too many goodies with them but I can¡¯t see any carriage, which means they can¡¯t be a merchant. Even the way they packed their stuff felt awfully strange, like they didn¡¯t want to leave any trace behind. I unconsciously held my breath, not sure of what to do. Should I run away? What if they are bandits or criminals? I definitely won''t have a chance against them¡ They haven¡¯t noticed me yet so I will have no problem if I run away now. But if I run, that means I have to start my search all over again. There is no guarantee that I will find another human being other than them and I will have to walk another kilometer without a clear destination again. For about a minute or two, I stood behind a big tree a few meters away from them, restlessly thinking of the best course of action I should take. Should I just take the risk and ask them? No. I may only be a three-years-old boy in this world. But from my past life experiences, I know a danger when I see one. This is certainly one of them. It¡¯s safer to back away while they haven¡¯t noticed me. It¡¯s a pity, I know. But better be safe than sorry, right? Just when I was about to quietly turn around and leave, a deep and harsh voice from behind me froze me on my feet. ¡°What the hell do ya think you¡¯re doing hiding here, huh? Ya think I won¡¯t notice your stinky little body?! You little brat!¡± Crap. I got found. Without even giving me a time to say anything, a large and muscular hand grabbed onto my back, easily lifted me off the ground and dragged me towards the rest of the group. ¡°Hey Deyans! Look what I found!¡± The man shouted, making everyone that was busy packing turned their attention towards him. A man with a short brown hair, a huge build, muscular body, and several scars covering his face walked closer toward the guy who grabbed onto the back of my shirt. His scary face slowly observed me with a bit of confused expression. ¡°A boy? How did this little brat even be this deep inside the Grothen forest?¡± The man, who I assumed to be Deyans, said while I tried so hard to free myself from the other guy''s grip which only make me swing back and forth in his hand Ugh, why does he have to be so strong?! Or am I the one who is too weak? ¡°Let! Me! Go!¡± I tried to shout, but they didn¡¯t even bat an eyes on me. I can feel the man who grabbed me shrugged his shoulders. ¡°Who cares.¡± He answered. ¡°Bet he would worth a good amount of money, right? Just look at that cute face of his.¡± A sudden chill was sent throughout my whole body. Just as I worried, they are criminals. No, they are slave traders¡ I have to do something! ¡°Um, pwese let me go, siw. I¡¯m just a losh boy. I¡¯m seawching for my famiwy. The Fontesswle family.¡± I cut in, trying to make me sound as desperate as possible to gain their sympathy which, I doubt would succeed. I thought they would ignore me again. But instead, all of them froze for a moment. One of the beastmen with white cat ears on his head was looking at me with a widened eyes. ¡°Did he just say the Fontessle family? Him??¡± All of them exchange looks for a brief moment. Then, just like a starving wolf that suddenly got offered fresh meat in front of them, a big, creepy smile appeared on their faces. Uh uh¡. I have a terrible feeling about this¡. [Chapter 3] Dont Look Down On Me! I¡¯m screwed. Seriously, no matter how I tried to find an opening for an escape, I found none. They completely surrounded me with their hungry gaze. Remind me again why I¡¯m here? Oh yeah, it¡¯s ¡®To LivE a HapPy sEConD LiFe¡¯_- Guess the gods and goddess has a different way of interpreting the word ¡®Happy¡¯ :) I silently cursed my own mouth from blabbering something that shouldn¡¯t be said. Why did I shout out my family name all of the sudden?! Did my brain also get disoriented into a three year old brain too?! If it was, then, I¡¯m really screwed. Still hanging in the big guy¡¯s hand, I can see Deyan¡¯s, the scary looking man, face lit up. ¡°Hell yeah. Those azure eyes and unique silver-blue hair, he is a Fontessle, alright. Now that I think about it, there is a quest on finding a missing son of the Fontessle family being hung in every adventurer guild for a while now, right? Gernad, you saw it. How much is the reward for sending him back?¡± Huh? So I was right! My family- I mean, the original owner of this body¡¯s family is really searching for him. For me. A little too excited, I turned my attention to the beastmen with cat-like ears and white fluffy tail who was called Gernad. He pondered a bit before answering. ¡°It¡¯s around five hundred gold coins, if I remember it correctly.¡± Wait, what? 500 gold coins?! ¡°Holy sh*t. That¡¯s a hell lots of money just for a little brat.¡± The other beastmen ¨C this time with brown bear ears¨C seem just as surprised as I am. Even if I came from another world, I know the currency used in this world. Just a single gold coin is enough to make you live leisurely for a whole year. That¡¯s an easy money of 500 years worth of living! Just who the hell is my family?! How could they easily give away that much money?! No, wait. Isn¡¯t this good for me? With that much money as a reward, even if they are criminals, they would definitely send me back home for the rewards, right? Right?? Deyans looked very pleased to hear that. He didn¡¯t seem to be surprised though. ¡°It¡¯s the forntessle family we are talking about, after all.¡± He mumbled with a grin. See? He must be tempted by the rewards too. My heart was thumping loudly in my chest. I might finally be free from this damn forest. But before my hope can build up a bit more, it crashes in an instant when I hear the big guy who grabbed me asked, ¡°So, what are we gonna do to him? send him back to his family?¡± Wait, why are you still asking the obvious question?? Isn¡¯t it clear already? Send me back! The beastmen named Gernad and the bear-like beastmen exchange stares while Deyans stayed silent as he, once again, sticked his scary looking face close to mine. Ugh, what are you even taking your time to make the decision for? It''s 500 gold coins! It¡¯s enough to make you filthy rich for the rest of your life without even having to lift a finger! I¡¯m starting to lose confidence here... But I guess I¡¯m asking for too much. Either that, or I¡¯m just really unlucky even in my second life. Because the next thing I knew is that the man who¡¯s staring at me gave me a really big and creepy smile, like the one that the clown from a movie called 1T has back in my previous life. Whenever that smile appears, prepare yourself because the worst case scenario will definitely happen. ¡°If they are willing to give that much money for this brat, wouldn¡¯t they give us more if we keep this little brat as a hostage? After all, they wouldn¡¯t want their beloved son to be injured, am I right?¡± This is exactly what I¡¯m talking about... Guess I¡¯m still screwed then :) Hooray, what a great way to start your life in another world: Being a hostage for blackmailing. I¡¯m not even surprised anymore. It has only been three days and I have only been faced by problems so far. Don¡¯t forget the fact that I¡¯m still three. ¡°Well, I¡¯m fine with that but can we handle the Fontessle family? They are not one to mess around with. Any wrong move and we¡¯re dead before we know it.¡± For once, I really wanna thank the bear-like beastmen. Even though he is still one of the criminals, I respect him for saying that. I don¡¯t really know who my family is and how powerful they are but don¡¯t you dare mess with my family! Just send me back already! But Deyans seem to have another idea which obviously dropped my confidence once again. ¡°Heh, they are no match for the boss. Did you forget how many times we manage to escape right in front of their nose? Just trust me, Tugher. Grab the rope from the bag. We¡¯re already running way behind schedule. We must move immediately or the boss will be mad.¡± This man sure has the talent to destroy a kid¡¯s hope... The beastmen called Tugher started to walk towards a nearby bag and pulled out a rope from it. He still looked pretty hesitant though. ¡°Are you sure about this? The Fontessle family is famous for their strong bloodline and ability in magic, right? What if this kid already has strong magic? It will be a bigger problem if he ended up escaping and reported us.¡± Almost everyone axcept him laugh from his words, clearly looking at him as if he is stupid or something. ¡°Bah! What can a three year old boy do, anyway? No matter how strong the fontessle family is, he is still just an undeveloped, spoiled, and weak little brat who knows nothing about the world. He can¡¯t even do anything while Fotan grabbed him on his back like that.¡± ¡°You¡¯re worrying way too much, Tugher. Are you actually scared of being beaten by a kid?¡± said Gernad with an annoying smile. Tugher face instantly turned bright red. ¡°Of course not! I just think it will be way easier if we just hand him over. The rewards are already plenty enough for all of us and we can avoid more conflict with the Fontessle family.¡± Sir Tugher, are you really a criminal? I really wanna thank him so much right now just for taking my side. Such a kind criminal... You heard that? Just listen to him already! ¡°Yeah whatever. You¡¯re just scared of the fontessle. Don¡¯t forget that we are from the mighty shadow organization. They can¡¯t do anything as long as we have the boss.¡± Said Deyans with a smug face that I really wanna punch so bad. Too bad I can¡¯t reach him right now. ¡°By the way, He¡¯s too tiny for a three year old, isn¡¯t it? So short and small, makes me really wanted to take a bite.¡± Gernad exclaimed as his sharp teeth showed up, like a wolf who just found a perfect meal. No. Not ¡®like¡¯ a wolf. He IS a wolf. Deyans gave him a warning gaze, stating that they shouldn¡¯t harm their hostage and that they have to start moving right away. But I knew he wasn¡¯t serious about it when he threw a smirk at Gernad the werewolf. ¡°Aw, I was ready to enjoy myself just now. Besides, a spoiled brat like him needs to learn the harsh way of life as soon as possible or else he would just end up as a spoiled trash. No harm in giving him some lessons. ¡± He continued, slightly disappointed as he looked down on me with his starving gaze, clearly viewing me as nothing more than a food and money. I, on the other hand, was facing down to the ground. All this time, I¡¯m used to people looking down at me. For 16 years, even my own parents abandoned me. I¡¯m used to people stepping all over me, being at the bottom of society, beaten up again and again because I¡¯m too weak to fight for myself, valued as nothing but a trash, a good for nothing, a toy to play with. It happened so often to the point where I don¡¯t even feel anything about it anymore. And yet, I wonder why I¡¯m so angry by their words now..... It¡¯s disgusting hearing those words from someone who used others as their personal thing as they pleased, kidnaping people and selling them as slaves, blackmailing others just because they thought they are invincible. Aren¡¯t they the one who¡¯s worse than trash? I¡¯m done being looked down on. I¡¯m done being viewed as nothing but trash. I won¡¯t let that happen. Not anymore!Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on Royal Road. Before I realized it, a huge amount of wind suddenly covered my whole body. It started to swirl around me, forming a giant barrier. ¡°What the fu-¡° was the last thing the big guy said before my wind magic exploded and blasted everyone around me to the side. [Wind Blast] A certain amount of mana was forcefully drained from inside my body. It cost me more mana than it normally would because it''s a chantless magic. But it¡¯s better than using my undeveloped vocal skill as a kid and ended up failing to chant it. The wind magic also made me float for a split of seconds and made me able to land perfectly on my feet. I can see the bewildered expression in their faces. Especially Deyans who got flung the furthest and hit a tree right on his back. He has this pained look in his face on top of being surprised. How was that, huh? Still think of me as just a spoiled kid who knows nothing about the way of the world? But I might be celebrating too early because the wolf beastmen, Gernad, suddenly charged at me at full speed with his sharp claws coming out of his hands. ¡°You little punk!¡± Shout him angrily. I quickly stopped my little celebration, just realized that I let my guard down and haven¡¯t planned for my next attack yet. Ugh, I should¡¯ve thought about it more before deciding to attack them. And he¡¯s way too fast! I¡¯m done for. I unconsciously put my two hands in front of my chest as a form of defense. I did this a lot in my previous life whenever someone picked on me. But I knew it¡¯s useless at this point. While I was really sure I f*cked up this time, the ground suddenly shook and just a few inches away before reaching me, a big and tall wall submerged from the ground and hit him right in his stomach, flung him to the back with a few broken ribs. I stood there, really confused by what just happened. ¡°What the f*ck was that?! A Chantless Magic?! I knew we should be cautious of him! I knew it!¡± Tugher was looking at me full of disbelief. Trust me, I wanted to ask the same question too. This time, even I was surprised by it. I definitely didn¡¯t chant any spell back then. I simply just want to defend myself from the attack. So what was that?! ¡°Don¡¯t just stand there doing nothing, you moron! Catch him!¡± I saw Deyans shout at him while getting back up, pulling out a big sword from the nearby bag that got flung together with him. At first, Tugher looked a bit hesitant. But he quickly dismissed it and turned his hands into big bear hands. His figure got bigger and half of his body was covered by thick brown furs. He really looked like a bear now and it¡¯s twice as big as his original form. His beady eyes locked at me before starting to charge at me. Every step he took made the ground shake, making it really hard for me to stand still. I took back my words on thanking him and saying he is a kind criminal. He definitely looked more dangerous than any other things I have faced so far. But thankfully, I¡¯m more prepared than before. I can feel the familiar feelings of mana being sucked out of my body as I spread it across the ground. In a split of second, sharp poles started to stick out of the path where the bear beastmen took, blocking his way towards me as well as trying to attack him. [Earth Poles] It was an intermediate magic spell according to the guide book. But Surprisingly, he managed to dodge it all and even destroyed some of it as he continued to cut the distance between us. That¡¯s a beastmen for you. Their strengths are even greater than that mentioned in the book. That is bad news for me. I used the wind magic as soon as possible to push me off the ground and landed, a bit unstable, on a branch of a tree a distance away from him. But before I could even find a firm footing to stand on, an arrow that was imbued with wind magic missed just a milimeter away from my left ears, almost giving me a heart attack. I didn¡¯t even see it coming. ¡°Ugh, I missed.¡± Not far from below me, Fotan, the big guy, placed another arrow on his bow and shot it toward me again in a spur of second after his last attack. My movement was already limited because I was standing on a branch of a tree and now I have to deal with arrows aiming right at me. Just how am I supposed to dodge that?! At my effort to avoid the arrow flying towards me at tremendous speed, just like how I feared, I slipped in the end. I tried to form another wind magic to save me from the fall but no spell came to mind. Yet, once again, without realizing it, the ground suddenly moved up, shortening the height and lessening the damage of my fall. I was sure I didn¡¯t manage to chant anything that time. Am I actually capable of forming magic without chanting it? But the guide book clearly stated that a chant is needed to form magic. So, what was that? I snapped out of my thoughts when another arrow was shot towards me again. This time, it managed to graze my left cheek. I can feel a burning sensation from it and instantly know that it¡¯s bleeding. Ugh, there is no time to worry about that. The bear beastmen already charged towards me yet again along with Deyans who swung his big swords as he ran towards me. The big guy, Fotan, has readied his forth arrow on his bow. Even the werewolf somehow has recovered, pulling out his claws and cutting off our distance in full speed. ¡°Don¡¯t let him get away! Crippled him as much as you can but don¡¯t kill him!¡± No matter how good I am with magic, a three year old boy against two grown-up mens and two beastmens is still too much. The only option I have is to try to escape and survive. I don¡¯t really know that much magic that can be useful to save me at this moment. I could try to run away with wind magic but they would catch up to me in no time given the speed of their movement and I would be out of mana before I could make them lose track of me. I¡¯m gonna have to stop them first. But with what? My thoughts arrived at the weird magic I used unconsciously without incantation before. I may not chant them. But I definitely think- or hope - for something to happen. I¡¯m not sure if this will work but it¡¯s worth a shot, right? I gather up mana from inside me and focus on thinking, or wishing, to stop my opponent. As if responding to my thoughts, the ground suddenly shook, almost like an earthquake, and without a single warning, the ground where they were standing collapsed, making them fall into a big deep pit before they could reach me. This is a bit unexpected. While I did think of stopping them as I let out my mana, I didn¡¯t know what kind of magic would be formed. To think that it will make a pitfall right below where they stand.... ¡°YOU LITTLE BRAT! WHAT DO YOU THINK YER DOING?!¡± I can hear Deyans shouting from the bottom of the pit along with a banging noise. Bet he¡¯s mad right now. Slowly, I tried to find my way down the earth cliff? Or whatever that was formed by my magic to save me from the fall, and carefully approached the side of the pit to take a better look at them. It was deeper than I thought. The wall of the pit was really smooth, making it hard to try to climb out of it. At the bottom of the pit, the 4 people who tried to attack me just now were still bewildered, clearly didn¡¯t expect that they would be trapped inside a pit or even be overpowered by a kid. ¡°I knew we should be cautious about him! I knew it!¡±Once again, Tugher the bear beastmen cursed out. Well, It¡¯s too late for that isn¡¯t it? ¡°Ugh, the hell is wrong with this kid¡¯s magic? Is a three year old these days normally has this much power?!¡± Fotan shook his head as he answered. ¡°I¡¯m a mage too but I can¡¯t predict what kind of magic he used. That kid, he¡¯s not normal.¡± While the three were still in shock, Deyans finally noticed my appearance at the top side of the pit. ¡°Fck that! I¡¯m gonna kill that brat! You just wait there and see what I would do to you when I got out of here, you heard that punk?! I¡¯m gonna kill you!!¡± Deyans started to swing his big swords against the wall of the pit, which turned out to be sturdier than it looked because the sword didn¡¯t even leave a scratch on it. He completely lost his cool_- Well, it¡¯s not like he is cool to begin with. ¡°OY! YOU DARE TO IGNORED ME, YOU PUNK?! I¡¯M GONNA FRIGGING TEAR YOU APART, YA HEAR ME?! NO MERCY FOR YOU!!¡± Uh, sure, try it. Even if you make that already scary face even scarier now and let out a huge amount of bloodlust like that, your action didn¡¯t seem very convincing, you know? While you tried to make your way out of that deep pit, which I doubt will happen in the foreseeable future, I¡¯m gonna be here raiding your stuff for the time being if you don¡¯t mind. I feel bad for stealing. But stealing for a stealer is fine, right? I¡¯m gonna give it back to the owner if I found them later on. As I expected, they have tons of valuable items in their bags. There are weapons that look really well made and have a faint trace of magic inside it. It must be an enchanted weapon. One of these can sell up to 50 silver coins which is half the value of one gold coin. A single silver coin is the same as 500 copper coins. If you¡¯re wondering how much that really worth, 100 copper coins can be used to rent a room in the inn for a night plus three meals a day. Other than weapons, I also found a lot of jewelry with magic stone as the core. Magic stone is really useful to improve one¡¯s magic. If someone can only use 2 basic elements, with the help of magic stone, they could use different elements depending on what kind of magic stone they use. There are also magic stones that can make the movement of its user faster or magic stone that can repel a certain amount of spell. It¡¯s a really useful item that can only be found around the Dwarves kingdom¡¯s territory. That¡¯s also why the price of it is really high. I tried to rummage through the other bags, putting almost everything that seemed useful to my inventory while ignoring the angry scream of Deyans in the background. I must admit, it¡¯s not very pleasing. His voice is horrible. Just when I thought there were no more things I could take anymore, a piece of old paper in the last bag caught my attention. A map of the forest! By the look of it, I¡¯m sure this is the map of the forest I¡¯m currently in. I could find the river where I arrived for the first time in this world and the map even pointed out several routes that lead to a nearby town. But I still need to walk for another 500 miles before I could reach it. That would be a pain in the ass, literally... But at least I have a clear direction of where I¡¯m heading rather instead of walking around aimlessly like before. I just realized that Deyans suddenly became quiet. I walked near the pit and bent down to look at them. Deyans¡¯ laying down at the bottom, looking completely out of breath. Aw, you¡¯re done already? Didn¡¯t you say you will get out of there and kill me? Must be tough being defeated by a three year old, huh? That¡¯s what you get for looking down at me. Well, not that I care. ¡°Hey! I¡¯m dwone hew. Be a gwod bwoy and wait there untwil someone finds you, ok? I¡¯m off, Bye bye!¡± I said, putting the most innocent face I can make before waving at them. I can see the werewolf¡¯s face turned pale, Fotan the big guy looked at me in shock, while Tugher was sitting down on the side, seriously regretting his action. Poor thing, if you didn¡¯t attack me just now, I might actually let you go Or not. And, of course, Deyans anger rises up again. He started to curse out the most inappropriate words he can find in his head as he swung his big sword against the wall of the pit again even after knowing it¡¯s useless. His pride must¡¯ve been hurt so much right? Ah, what a satisfying revenge. It¡¯s obviously not a good thing to do but taking revenge once in a while is not that bad. Well, time to go to my next destination. To the Houtad Town! [Chapter 4] On My Way to The Otherworldly Town The wind breeze gently caresses my silver blue hair as I walk down a slightly hidden path inside the forest. It¡¯s morning. The birds were chirping in the background, happily flying in the vast blue sky. The closer I got to the border of the forest, the density of the trees slowly subsided. Now, I can see the ray of morning sunlight piercing through the woods, illuminating my surroundings, adding a more tranquilizing atmosphere in this forest. I was never a fan of nature in my past life. Not like I go into one that often before but I have a pretty bad memory of it when I visited it on one of my school trips. Since then, forests were never a good place in my head. But now, after spending more than a week inside this seemingly endless forest, I must admit that nothing beats the morning scenery here. It gave me these peaceful and calming feelings that put me at ease. I started to find myself slowly enjoying the day I spent here. Although, of course, the fact that it took me ages just to get out of here still annoyed me. Another few days have passed yet again after the first time I arrived in this world. Looks like my luck was starting to get better since I haven''t encountered anything bad after the accident with the criminals a few days ago. Thanks to them, I''m able to find a way to the nearest town without having to worry over meeting any powerful monsters on the way or lost into a nest of an unknown beast. The map I stole from them showed me hidden routes that avoid certains areas which were marked as monsters territories or beast nests, making it safe to take. Humming, I carefully pushed the bushes that were blocking my path as I checked the map one more time. If I''m correct, I should be able to get out of here in less than an hour which instantly puts a smile on my face. It has been hard for me to walk all the way here for more than a week nonetheless. I fell countless times, couldn''t sleep at night, anxious and scared sometimes. After all, I''m just a 16 year old inside a three year old body who was lost alone inside an unknown forest with monsters lurking around in every corner. I may be able to defend myself to certain extent but being alone here, especially at night, could really drain your emotions. There were even times where I almost thought of giving up, thinking that maybe there is really no end to this forest. But I dismissed this thought as soon as possible and quickly got back on track. So to know that my hard work until now will finally pay off really makes me happy. The feeling of achieving something, something I never done in my previous life except at the last moment of my life, I never knew it could be this pleasant¡. The rumbling sound of my stomach snapped me out of my loops of thoughts. I already got used to the big demand for food this little body needs every day. But the rumbling coming from my stomach always succeeds in making me feel embarrassed for some reason. Anyway, I guess it''s time for me to hunt. I tried to feel the mana that surrounded me and focused on detecting any fluctuation. It doesn''t take long for me to notice some change in the mana inside this forest which means some living being is nearby and by the amount of mana it used, it must be an F rank monster, perfect for my breakfast. This is a new method I discovered when I read in the guide book that every living being emits mana. The amount of mana in the atmosphere is always constant no matter where you are. But when a living being is around, you can feel fluctuations in it which make it possible to detect them just by noticing these changes. In contrast to [Detection Magic] that works like bat allocation and covers a large area to search, this method can only detect something in a radius of several meters around me. But it didn''t consume mana which is perfect for hunting. Trying hard to not make any sound as much as possible, I walked closer to the place where I felt the mana fluctuating. Hidden behind a tree, I could see a horned rabbit quietly eating a fallen fruit. I let out a disappointed sigh. Again? Horned rabbits are one of the most common monsters in this forest. I met them a lot and I could say that they have become my meals almost all the time because of how easy it is to find them and defeat them. But imagine eating the same thing three times a day for more than a week, no matter how good it tasted, you will become sick of it eventually. I wish I could find rice around here¡ back in my hometown, it''s the main dish of every meal and I kinda feels weird to eat something without it. Anyway, I''ll just have to make do with this for the time being. Let''s make this over quickly, shall we? The horned rabbit looks like it hasn''t noticed me yet. I raised my right hand towards it, imagining a gust of wind so sharp and fast that it can cut through my target. Almost immediately, mana started to drain out of my body and, in a blink of an eye, wind magic shot out towards the horned rabbit and killed it without giving it any time to react. I approached my soon-to-be breakfast and picked it up before cleaning it. Other than my luck, my control over magic also seems to get better with each passing day. I can measure the amount of power I need to use so long as I can picture it in my head. I also managed to discover a few new things while I was on my way to reach the border of the forest. First, remember the time when I used magic without incantation? I was wondering if I''m really capable of forming magic without a spell or a chant and turns out I was right. In fact, chanting a spell or not doesn''t really make any difference in my magic. That was also the reason why I still managed to form a magic back then despite my poor pronunciations. But if I didn''t state or picture the kind of magic I wanted to form clearly, the effect will vary and more mana will be consumed. I tested it out myself not too long after the encounter with the criminals. After pouring mana to my surroundings, I tried to think of making a big rock I found disappeared. The first magic that came out was a massive fire magic that exploded as soon as it hit the rock and turned it into pieces. I repeated the same action again and the magic that was formed on the second time was earth magic, cracking the ground up and swallowing the big rock until it completely disappeared from my sight. On my third attempt, I ended up exhausting my mana completely. Not surprising though cause that day, I already used my magic to hunt for food and fight with those criminals. No wonder I ran out of mana. But to think it caused every muscle in my body felt like it turned into jelly and made me not able to move an inch for half an hour, that was something totally unexpected to me. I was being too careless that I almost ended up being the lunch of wild boars if I didn''t coincidentally recover on time. Note to self, never exhaust your mana. Anyway, I could only find one explanation to how I am able to form magic without any spell or chant. That is because of the blessing from the goddess of magic, Lula, which led me to the second thing that I discovered: Blessings. While I know that all the gods and goddesses bestowed their blessings for me as a form of their support for my second life, I didn''t really know much of how it works and what effect it gave me. I found an explanation about it in the guide book but it didn''t tell me how to use it and I didn''t really pay much attention to it either. But I should''ve known it was way more useful than I thought¡. The blessings from the goddess of magic, for example, gave me the ability to easily use magic however I wanted without having to chant them or learn them beforehand. Like I said, as long as I can imagine it in my head, I can basically use any kind of magic with all the six elements. If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Please report it. Moving on, there are also the blessings from Zyon, the oldman, I mean, the god of knowledge and wisdom. It basically made you able to read any information about anything. I just need to focus on the item or monster and the information about it will pop up on the board-like screen. It even tells me if something is edible or not, what kind of things I can use it for, the average price of it if I sell it, etc. Seriously, where have I been? Had I known this sooner, I wouldn''t have to constantly open and close the book of Beasts and Plants from the god of nature just to know which one is which. I could''ve saved an enormous amount of time too¡. Other than that, I tried to use the enchanted weapon I got and I somehow managed to master it in a short period of time. I''m guessing that this must be due to the blessings of the god of combatant, Lupta. I can even wield a sword that is twice the size of my body without a lot of trouble. But it exhausted me pretty quickly because of how heavy it is. I admit that in the beginning, I was too absorbed in finding the way out of this forest and reunited with my family which made me oblivious of what I''m actually capable of. I thought that even though I don''t remember them, I know for a fact that they spend a lot of effort on searching for me to the point where they prepare a large sum of money for whoever finds and sends me back home. They must''ve been so worried and it didn''t sit right for me to just take my time inside this forest. But I really should''ve known this sooner. That way, I can have more confidence with myself when facing a more powerful enemy. Well, too late for that... Anyway, by the time I finished my breakfast, the sun had completely risen. It''s time to continue my walk. I tidied up the remains of the bonfire I use to cook my breakfast and put everything back on its place. I slowly found my way back to the slightly hidden pathway and started walking again. At the far distance, I could see an opening bursting with lights. That must be my way out of here. It proved me right as soon as I arrived there. I found myself standing on top of a hill with colorful flowers covering the ground. I could see a river flow gently at the foot of the hill. The clear water was reflecting the sunlight, making it look like it''s sparkling. Across the river, a vast grassfield can be found with tall and green grasses that slowly wavered, following wherever the wind blows. There are giant birds flying above the sky, disappearing and appearing over the fluffy white clouds. At the far distance, a series of mountains were seen, looking more like a wall that were guarding the vast grassfield and completed the breathtaking scenery before me. I stood there with my mouth slightly ajar, completely stunned by the beautiful view in front of me. Never in my entire life have I seen something like this, something that can only be found inside a book or anime, something that feels so¡. Unreal. It makes me realize that I really am in a different world right now¡. It''s beautiful¡.. I quickly shook my head, snapping myself out of my amazement. This is not the time to be enjoying the view while my family somewhere out there were busy waiting for my return. I''m getting distracted here. With that as a reminder, I took out the map once again and checked the position of the town. According to the map, the town is supposed to be on the east side of the vast grassfield. I lifted my head to try to look at it from this distance. Because of the breathtaking scenery, I didn''t realize it at first. But turns out, across the vast grassfield, standing on top of one of the hills that were surrounding the mountains, I could see small buildings and some windmills. My eyes widened as I started to feel myself getting really excited. That must be the Hautad Town! I could finally see a town for the very first time since my arrival in this world! And since I am finally free from that damn forest that feels like it''s endless, I could try something I''ve been dying to do for a while now. The distances from here to there are a bit far. It''s nothing compared to what I''ve been through just to get out of the forest, of course. But I need at least two to three hours before I could reach the entrance. I''m only able to see it from this distance because I transferred my mana to my eyes, making me able to see things a couple times better than normal. I told you that, with the blessing from the goddess of magic, I''m capable of using any kind of magic I wanted so long as I can picture it in my head right? Some of you might be wondering, ''then, why didn''t you just use your magic to teleport yourself out of the forest once and for all?'' Believe me, I''ve tried that so many times already :) Everytime I''m too fed up with walking almost all the time and decided to take a short rest, I tried so freaking hard to find a way of using teleportation magic. Imagining myself instantly arrived straight to my family''s house wherever that is, trying to picture my body disappearing from the forest and appearing in the nearby town, wishing to be able to get out of this forest while constantly emitting mana to my surroundings, I have tried almost everything I could think of. I even tried doing different kinds of poses while imagining myself being teleported or chanting random things in hope it can give some kind of result. But nothing happened. In the guide book or the books I bought from the store, I didn''t find anything regarding teleportation magic. The only thing I managed to find that is close to teleportation is [Portal], some kind of door that could instantly teleport you to someplace. But it''s more like an artifact or device, not something you could just form with magic, which leads me to the conclusion that teleportation magic doesn''t seem to exist in this world. Which sucks. In the end, I almost couldn''t find anything. Almost. When I think back of the time where I tested my magic to make the big stones disappear, I realized the magic that was form always related to elemental magic. Explosion from fire magic, earthquake from earth magic, that was the magic that was being formed to make the stone disappear. So, maybe I have to relate it to a certain element for it to work. Wind magic is fast but it will only make me ''move'' faster, not instantly make me arrive at some place. Fire and water are way slower than wind so I couldn''t really use it to form teleportation magic. Earth magic is out of questions. But, aren''t lights move faster than anything else? It could travel hundreds of millions of meters in a blink of an eye. Isn''t that similar to teleportation? So I tested it out in the end. The goal was to teleport in a small distance first just to see if my guess is right or not. I was so delighted when I knew I was right! It worked out in the end but it''s so hard to control it. It instantly moved me to another place just like I imagined. But, because it''s similar to running at full speed and suddenly stopping, I never perfectly land on my feet, resulting in me falling flat on my face over and over at all of my attempts. But my little happiness of success quickly disappeared as soon as I realized I can''t use this magic to instantly make me get out of this forest¡. For the magic to work, it needs a specific spot or place where I would ''stop'' that has to be visible from where I originally stand. But I couldn''t see the border of the forest to instantly teleport me there and because of the density of the trees, I also couldn''t use it to move to a far distance instantly without having to crash into trees or constantly hitting my face to the ground when I fell. That means despite my efforts on trying to come up with this magic, it''s useless in the end. Seriously, is it so hard to just let me enjoy a bit of happiness? Why does it have to come into this in the end?? But seeing that this time, after I finally got out of the forest, I could see further distance without trees blocking my views, I could put the teleportation magic I''ve worked hard on into a good use now. I will be able to instantly teleport myself to the town gates without having to walk through the vast grassfield for another three hours! Hoorah! Without wasting any more times than I already did, I quickly transferred a tiny bit of mana to my eyes, focusing on a single spot not too far from the path that leads to the town gates. Everyone will be alarmed if they saw a little boy suddenly appear out of nowhere and I don''t want to attract any unnecessary attention. That''s why the pathway near the gate should be perfect to avoid this. As soon as I activated the magic, I could feel my whole body felt like it''s forcibly being squeezed into a small tube and shot like a bullet. By the time my senses came back to me, I had already arrived at the destination. But since I have only tested short distance teleportation magic, suddenly teleporting this far might be too much for my body because the next thing I knew is that this tiny body of mine suddenly lost balance and started to roll down the hill. Gosh¡ can something go the way I wanted for once?! Somebody help me! I can help but scream as my body hits rocks that were scattered everywhere. My vision started to blur from constantly rolling and just when I thought I was going to faint from the dizziness, my body finally stopped. I tried to sit down but regretted it instantly when the inside of my stomach felt like it had been turned upside down. Without any time to prepare myself, every meal I had from dinner to breakfast showered my own body, making me covered in vomits. Ugh, why? Why do bad things keep on happening just when everything started to go well for me? Why gods and goddesses? Whyyy????? While I was depressing over my unluckiness, I heard someone asked not too far behind me, "um, are you¡ ok?" Do I look like I''m ok to you?! Seriously, why do you even have to ask that when I obviously just rolled down a freaking hill full of rocks and threw up on myself?! I''m already annoyed as it is and you just have to ask the obvious question to annoy me even more. I turned around, ready to vent my anger to whoever it was that dares to ask that stupid question. But my word of protests which I planned to spout on them stopped midway. Even my annoyed expression as well as my anger suddenly disappeared into thin air. My watery eyes looked at her in surprise and, without even aware of it, my mouth was already opened. As if it was a scene fresh from a drama, I could almost see flowers flying in her background. The wind gently blew her beautiful golden hair. Her light blue eyes, the pair of pure white wings on her back, as well as her gentle smile¡. Is she¡. An angel?!
