《THE UNFORGETTABLE CHILDHOOD》


 The Girl.

    (sitting on a sofa, watching TV. Before him, a cake on which its written Happy 18th Birthday)


    "Hi, you must be thinking who am I and if it''s my birthday then why am I not celebrating. Well, I am Haruto Shirogane, I belong to a family where both of my parents are successful businesspeople, and currently both are out of station.     *Suddenly a knock at the door*

    He goes and opens the door .

    "Isn''t it obvious to celebrate your 18th birthday."

    Three hours later:


    "What''s the time ?"


    "It''s 10 pm"


    " uhh I am bored we are playing the same game for three hours now. "

    She pinched his hand and started running.


    "Catch me if u can ."


    "You little brat, you can''t escape from me ."


    While they were chasing each other , Hina slipped and hit the wardrobe . A box fell down over her.


    "Ahh it hurts."


    " oh shit what happened to this box ."


    "You know right, here I am the person who got hurt." (she pouts)


    They started gathering the things which were inside the box when Hina finds an album. It was a normal photo album on which someone had designed a title on it.


    The title was ''The unforgettable childhood.''

    "Please someone kill me now."


    "Hey Hey! Whats there to be so embarrassed about? Oh it''s your first birthday''s picture.¡±


    ¡°Is it me in this picture."

    She goes into deep thought.


    "Uhh I can''t remember anything."


    "Its ok even my memories are hazy about that day."


    They talked about those pictures for an hour.


    "Hey Haruto-san do you remember about that mountain?"


    " what mountain I don''t remember about it."


    " oh I see , u completely forgot about that incident. (In mind)"


    " oh its already 11 pm I should head home, otherwise my mom would think what is she doing so late night with a guy."


    " pervert, anyway bye see u tomorrow at school."


    After shutting the door he goes directly to sleep.

 A strange dream.

    At midnight Haruto wakes up because of a strange dream. In his dream he sees that he was back to 8 years of age and he watches someone is pulling him up.


    "Ahh my head hurts, what was that dream about?" (thinking)


    He goes to the sink to drink a glass of water but when he opens the tap he visualizes something, and then the glass falls down from his hand, breaks and he screams with pain.


    He closes his eyes and watches.


    When he was 8 years old, he had gone to a trip to a mountain with his and Hina''s family. While they were traveling through the road by the edge of the mountain, which was made by cutting through the mountain, their car stopped working. So the elders started to check what''s wrong when Hina found a Lily growing at the other side of a fence.


    "Haruto-san, can you pick that Lily for me , It''s so beautiful I want to hold it."


    "No it''s too dangerous to pick it. It''s at the edge of the street."

    She goes out of the car and then tries to pick it. Haruto follows her . Suddenly he realizes that the land on which the flower is, it''s not that rigid and it can break at any time. He rushes and pulls her before she falls but he trips and falls down from there. Luckily he was able to catch a branch coming out from the slope so he survived. But this shock was so severe that he became amnesiac as a result.


    "Ohh! I finally remember now what happened on that day, I still can''t believe I had done that. I guess my body moved on my own because I was too scared to even react.¡±


    ¡°I wonder what Emily was talking about yesterday? I can easily ask her about that at class but first I should go back to sleep otherwise I would be late for school tomorrow." (in his mind)


    In school:


    "The class is about to start, I wonder why didn''t Emily come today." (thinking)


    Three days later,


    "She has been absent for three days now. Maybe I should visit her home to check if everything is alright or not."


    He visits her home after school and he finds that the main door was locked.


    "They probably have gone for a vacation somewhere; I should not worry too much about that I guess."

 The letter.

    A week later:


    The homeroom teacher comes and announces a message to the class at the starting of the first period.


    "Before I started today''s class I have a message , I feel very sorrowful to tell all of you that one of your classmate and my student is no more with us. Hina Tachibana died yesterday because of a brain tumor. I wish that wherever she is now, she lived a great life, she will always be remembered in our hearts. May her soul rest in peace"


    "Glad you woke up , you were passed out for an hour now. You should take some rest."


    "Why am I here and where is Fujiwara Sensei? I need to talk to her ASAP."


    "Oh Haruto-kun you are finally awake, that''s nice.


    So, do you want to ask me something."


    "Mam, ha ha, today morning you were kidding right, Hina is alive right."

    While returning home that day, he continuously had visions of his memories with her of the time when they were kids.

    Reaching her home he finds the door was open. He went inside in a rush and finds there was no one inside. His mental strength was not supporting him and so he didn''t know what to do when he heard a voice.

    She hands a letter to Haruto.


    He goes back to his home and locks himself inside his room. He reads the letter.

    Umm , Hi Haruto-san. I guess you don''t remember anything about that day when you saved me from falling down the cliff. I wanted to thank you about that but that time I couldn¡¯t gather words to tell you. The only thing that I felt was that my heartbeat increasing and I felt safe beside you. But it was not the last time I felt like that. Whenever I came close to you, I felt the same. Later I understood that I had fallen in love with you. But I guess Okuninushi-no-Mikoto didn''t want me to live a beautiful life.


    When I acquired the guts to tell you my feelings, a small devil had started growing inside my head. After learning about that I decided to keep my distance from you so that I don''t devastate your life. But suppressing my feelings was much more harder than how I thought it would be. The more I maintained my distance from you the more I felt emptiness in my heart without you. Do you remember when we were playing truth and dare and you dared me to pretend to be your girlfriend and I bluffed it by taking it as a joke. It was not so easy for me as it seemed. I really wanted to be your girlfriend not for just one day but for all eternity. I really wanted to be with you,  to talk to you and share every moment with you, Share a kiss with you , hold your hands and comfort you in your times of sorrow like every other girl. You know, I got envious when I saw other girls talking about their boyfriends and I, having the chance to get the best boyfriend a girl can ever have, had to cut my wings with the blade of my fate. But I just want to tell you that please don''t be sad after reading this letter, okay. You are brave. Promise me you will find a beautiful girl and marry her and give all the love and affection you could give to her. I know it''s a little bit weird to hear all this from me as she is going to be my rival who is going to get all the love I should get but I just want to see you happy. But don''t worry we are going to meet again in afterlife and then I will never let you go. Before ending the letter I just want to tell you what I should have told you years before. And that is,


    I LOVE  YOU


    Yes. I love you Haruto. And I will love you forever and ever.
