    Arridian¡¯s long elven ears twisted while she lay in her bed. Something rose her and now she was listening to the creatures outside. ¡°quick!¡± ¡°shht¡± ¡°go, go, go¡± sounded from three different little voices. Beside her lay a ball of fur still purring sleepily on the ground. ¡°Psst Rajiv, do you hear that?¡± When the little ball heard his name he jumped up on the bed and made a face that seemed to listen. His ear playing around and his green eyes focusing. A soft purr sound let Arridian know that he heard it too and the orange tiger cub jumped from the bed.


    Arridian followed by the tiger cub went downstairs and to the door. There she opened it and saw three lizard-like creatures sneaking around one of the village sheds. They opened the door and quickly went in. ¡°Not again!¡± Arridian said softly to Rajiv. ¡°We have to do something.¡± The tiger cub behind her seemed to be excited about the idea and started pacing back and forth in front of the door. Arridian quickly went to her hiding place and sought out her small self-made bow and some arrows. Together they went outside. She sought a hiding spot right in front of the door of the shed and nocked an arrow. ¡°Wait here Rajiv, I will shoot them. Then you go in for the kill.¡±


    It took a minute before the first one reappeared in the opening of the door with his hands full of dried food. Arridian let the arrow fly and heard a pleasant thud. She took another arrow. Again she heard the thud and looked at her prize; Three packs of food that had been carried by the kobolds, but the kobolds were nowhere to be found. Arridian looked at the door and found her arrows in the post. She had not hit one single kobold. Sadly she started pulling the arrows out of the wood and grabbed the rations that now lay on the ground.     The next morning she woke early with the comforting purr of Rajiv beside her. She tentatively shook him and said, ¡°Today is the day, we are going to find those monsters.¡± Sleepily Rajiv looked at her as if begging for just a couple of minutes more. Arridian jumped out of bed and the tiger cub couldn¡¯t let her go off alone. Quickly he jumped off too and ran around her as she packed.


    While the whole village was still asleep one young elf and her unusual companion sneaked out into the woods. Without a problem, the two found the tracks and followed them to a cave. There they split up and Arridian walked in seemingly lost. The three kobolds, who were scraping at the last pieces of a small meal, sat there and once they saw her she got their attention. ¡°He, he, hello?¡± She said trying to sound innocent.


    One of the Kobolds then recognized her and grabbed a small spear that lay beside him. ¡°You are the one that shot us.¡± He called out. The others reacted at that with their spears at the ready. Arridian backed off a bit and the three kobolds followed. Rajiv sneaked around them and right before the kobolds attacked Arridian with their spears Rajiv jumped at them and smacked two to the ground. The third soon turned and Arridian saw her chance to throw her nets over them. With all three captured Arridian and Rajiv proudly walked back into the village.
