《The Beast's Fate》 Chapter 1 ¡°Hail the King! Hail the Queen!¡± Voices along with thuds from the wooden staffs echoed throughout the forest. The cheers reflected agreement from the crowd. Today was the day of celebration. There have been talks about Princess Valyne and Prince Waron¡¯s marriage and today their king has spoken. ¡°Three weeks from now, on the night of the full moon, our daughter, Princess Valyne of Panalove will tie the knot with Prince Waron of Rhizen. Myself and queen Merkha invite you all to come and bestow your blessings upon the couple.¡± The Panalovians and the Rhizens were constantly at war and this upcoming bond will pave a bridge of friendship between the two kingdoms. Panalov, a huge territory surrounded by thick forest is the ancestral heaven for the Panalovians, a community of elves. With their species¡¯ striking similarity to human features anybody can mistake them as one but beware. Along with being great fighters the elves are also awarded with the boon of magic, healing and elemental. This made them a far superior race than the homo-sapiens. Even with so much ability the Panalovians have always been a peace loving community and only fought outsiders when they were provoked. They lived a simple life where the forest provided them with everything and the kingdom prospered through their trades with nearby kingdoms, after all, the Panalovians have gained the reputation of creating some of the finest jewellery and clothes. The Rhizens on the other hand are a very opposite case. Rhizen, the kingdom that has the most rapid growth rate of civilization is always on the news for one reason or another. They have physical features exactly same as the humans but their invincible strength and unending stamina takes them to a whole different league. Due to their fierce nature they were feared and renowned as the two-legged beasts by other kingdoms. They believe in capturing and ruling and were trained from a very young age to part take in wars. There are only handful of kingdoms remaining now which are out of the claws of the Rhizens just because they have stroke some remarkable deals with the Rhizens and that¡¯s what the Panalovians are about to do as well. The Rhizens and the Panalovians have been face to face with each other a lot of times and none of those clashes brought anything other than destruction and casualties of tons of soldiers from both sides. The elves, given their nature were never in favor of the fights but they had to protect their territory and anything can be overlooked for that. This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author''s work. This marriage will hopefully put an end to this conflict and bring the good days back for the Panalovians at least. The gathered crowd dispersed and king Tranid held his wife¡¯s hand helping her down the stairs of the podium. ¡°Merkha, did you send word for Valyne to return home today?¡± ¡°I certainly did my King but you know how our daughter¡¯s thoughts are regarding this marriage. She thinks we are sacrificing her in the name of truce. I wouldn¡¯t even be surprised if she decides to break this marriage and humiliate us. Only God know it won¡¯t be just humiliation that we will have to go through, the Rhizens will have our heads first and then occupy the kingdom.¡± Queen Merkha was frantically gasping now and held her husband¡¯s forearm tightly. Talking about Valyne always made her like this. She knew how bold yet careless her daughter was. Valyne did reckless things without thinking about the consequences they might have. Merkha despised herself for she has failed as a mother, if she had been a little stricter at the right time then Valyne wouldn¡¯t have been out of their hands now. ¡°You worry so much my Queen. I know our daughter is mischievous but I am also sure that she considers the well being of the kingdom as a priority. We have taught her well Merkha. I know she will be back home and I know she will happily go through the marriage.¡± Tranid put his hand around Merkha¡¯s shoulder and led her towards the palace. It was evening now and Tranid was busy in his study while Merkha was with Onor, the jeweler who had brought some gorgeous piece for Valyne and Merkha to wear at the marriage. ¡°Father, mother!¡± Loud, angry female voice boomed inside the palace. Merkha dismissed Onor knowing exactly who was shouting outside. By the time she came to the hall Tranid was already there trying to hug his daughter. ¡°Come on father, don¡¯t do this, I am not a child anymore.¡± Valyne gently pushed his father and stopped him. Tranid laughed heartily at her behavior and patted her head instead. Valyne¡¯s head turned and her icy blue eyes made contact with Merkha¡¯s light brown ones. She was the mirror of Tranid, Merkha thought, same eyes, same blonde hair and also the same temper when he was young. ¡°Mother, haven¡¯t we already talked about this. I am not going to marry that monster¡± she looked from her mother to father, ¡°I am not going to be an item of trade!¡± her pointed ears have turned red now and that was not a good sign. Like Tranid had assured their daughter was back and like Merkha has expected she was not in a good mood about the marriage. ¡°Valyne, this is not just about you dear. You know how relaxing it will be for our people to not always worry about losing their lives; this is for the benefit of the kingdom.¡± ¡°I tell we fight the Rhizens for the benefit of our kingdom father. We can easily defeat them with our magic, they won¡¯t stand a chance.¡± ¡°We have been fighting them Valyne and what good has that done us so far? If we could defeat them we already would have. This marriage is the only way to stop the chaos.¡± Tranid tried to reason with her but Valyne had already made up her mind. ¡°Fine then, I believe I have made myself clear about not going through this marriage. I will not give up my freedom just for the sake of the commoners; I would rather fight for them.¡± With her bow still in her hand Valyne gave one last look to her mother and stomped out of the palace. ¡°Ah this girl.¡± Tranid exhaled deeply and looked at a worried Merkha. ¡°It¡¯s alright darling. She will be back once she calms down. You know how she is.¡± Merkha smiled at his husband and that seemed to work. He walked back inside his study and Merkha stood there with realization in her eyes. She knew exactly how their daughter was and so she knew Valyne will do exactly as she said. She is not going to be back for the marriage. Chapter 2 ¡°You are telling me you can¡¯t find her anywhere?¡± Tranid¡¯s tone was harsh on the outside but inside he was sweating with worry. ¡°No my king¡± Kidorick held his head down and closed his eyes with regret. ¡°All we know for sure right now is that she is alive and probably has moved towards the kingdom of Cronol. I have sent two of my men to see King Crote, hopefully that will help us to garner some information about princess Valyne.¡± ¡°You are the royal guard of Panalov, Kidorick. If even you haven¡¯t found about her whereabouts after a week of her disappearance then I don¡¯t know what to say anymore. You do know what will happen if people know about this, if the Rhizens come to know about this. You know she has to be here by the time of the marriage.¡± ¡°I do my king. Rest assured, I will make sure she is back by the day of the marriage or else it will be me who will take the whole responsibility and offer my head to the Rhizens.¡± ¡°I don¡¯t want more blood of my men Kidorick, just make sure my daughter comes back home safe and on time.¡± With a nod and bow Kidorick walked out of the palace gates. His transparent grey eyes glinted with a burning resolve. He clutched the dagger on his waist pouch thinking about the consequences the kingdom has to go through if he fails to find the princess on time. ¡°Where did we go wrong Merkha? Why did Valyne do something like this? Doesn¡¯t she understand the depth of the situation? Doesn¡¯t she understand what can happen because of this reckless decision of hers? How could she Merkha, how could she?¡± Merkha sat beside her emotionally turmoiled husband. She didn¡¯t know how to answer his questions. She couldn¡¯t bring herself to tell him that it was their fault that Valyne has turned out to be like this. The idea of freedom that they wanted her to learn was perceived by Valyne in a very different way. As parents they wanted their daughter to be independent and brave when the time for her to rule the kingdom comes. They wanted her to stand by the people as an ideal ruler who has her own mind to know and choose what¡¯s good for everyone but at the end she only chose herself above everyone. ¡°Merkha, have she ever told you anything about loving someone else, some other man that she have been interested in. We might be able to find her if we know with whom she went.¡±The author''s narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. Merkha gave a small frustrated laugh and shook her head. ¡°Don¡¯t you still understand my king? She has run off from the marriage practically because she loves no one else but herself. She doesn¡¯t care what happens to us, she has chosen her freedom.¡± Tranid took the golden crown off his head and held it tightly in his hand looking straight ahead. ¡°We have failed the people Merkha. I think we should tell them now that this kingdom will soon belong to the Rhizens and they should prepare themselves for that. I also think we should also let King Jarred know that this wedding is off so they can stop preparing for it and rather come to capture us.¡± So hopeless and broke, she has never seen Tranid like this. He had always believed that Valyne will live and die for the good of the people, good of the kingdom when the time comes. This must have been such a shock for him, betrayal from his daughter. ¡°My king, if you don¡¯t mind I have a suggestion to make. This might be the only way we can earn some time to find Valyne and hopefully a peaceful life for our people.¡± Tranid gave a questioning look to his wife and nodded for her to continue. ¡°The Rhizens have never seen Valyne and on the day of the marriage she will be in veil and so none of our people can see her either, we can easily replace someone else to stand at the altar in her place.¡± Tranid couldn¡¯t believe what he was hearing from her wife. The fact that she was capable of thinking something like this stumped him. ¡°Merkha, this will be treason, the very cause of war. How could you even speak something like this?¡± ¡°My king, I understand what you are saying but you have to understand as well that Valyne is not coming back and right now our priority is the lives of our people. We have to do something.¡± The desperation in Merkha¡¯s voice was fair and he couldn¡¯t overlook it. If it was for the kingdom then he has to take a chance even if the possibility of the idea working was pretty bleak. ¡°Do you have anyone in mind for the job?¡± ¡°I was thinking about Fate. She has similar height and face as Valyne including the royal blood. She will be the perfect replacement for our daughter.¡± ¡°Hmm, Fate will be a good replacement but what will happen if Waron comes to know that he has been given a different bride rather than the promised one, won¡¯t that cause a war?¡± ¡°Then we can defend ourselves by telling that he has got the princess of Panalov as his bride as per the terms of the bargain. It shouldn¡¯t bother whichever one it is.¡± Tranid let the crown sit on the side table and clasped his fingers under his chin. He was thinking hard about everything Merkha has just suggested. It doesn¡¯t sound so absurd but it certainly is a betrayal towards the Rhizens but then again since when have the Rhizens ever played things fairly. ¡°All this is fine but will Fate agree to this marriage when even our own daughter has not?¡± ¡°You leave all that to me. Fate is a subject under us; she has no other choice but to agree to our command.¡± Tranid nodded in affirmation and exhaled deeply letting his worries flow out while he put his faith on his wife and of course Kidorick. Chapter 3 ¡°Your wedding is in two days prince Waron, what are your plans?¡± A heavy male voice sounded in the room. The owner of the voice, Lord Martis kept both his legs on top of the table in front of him while his left elbow was propped on top of the chair and in his right hand he held the imperial sword. He was awarded with this sword by king Jarred when he was appointed as personal bodyguard for prince Waron seven years ago. Before all that though he was and still is Waron¡¯s best friend and never thought of this as a job but a responsibility to protect his friend. His stubble face hid a particular amusement when he asked the question. It was like he was ready to laugh out loud the moment Waron opened his mouth to answer but that didn¡¯t happen. ¡°He will marry of course! What other plans should he have?¡± Lord Leanor replied from the opposite corner of the room. He lifted his head and kept the document in his hand aside, adjusted his glasses and gave a questioning glance to Martis. Leanor looked from Martis to Waron, ¡°you both are not thinking of causing any trouble this time, right?¡± It sounded more like Leanor was confirming it rather than questioning the duo. He was youngest among the three in the room and undoubtedly the most intelligent one. His dim witted talks, short frizzy green hair might make him seem dumb but that was not the case at all. Leanor was a scholar and is part of the royal board as a war strategist. In this young age of twenty the only interest he has are books, all kinds of books. As far as fighting skills are concerned he always carried a sword and can very well defend himself when there are less than five attackers. He was assigned as the advisor for the future king three years ago and so the duo became a trio. He always tries giving best suggestions to Waron but what can he do when the thick skulled prince just don¡¯t intend on listening to him at all. On top of that there was Martis who works as a devil whispering nonsense in Waron¡¯s ears. ¡°Oh, not at all Leanor.¡± ¡°Why do I feel you will do exactly the opposite of what you are saying lord Martis?¡±Did you know this story is from Royal Road? Read the official version for free and support the author. ¡°Me? I don¡¯t understand why you always suspect me as the culprit Leanor. I am just asking Waron what his plans for his wedding are. Maybe he would want to go shopping to buy something nice for his bride.¡± Martis was speaking with an intention of teasing Waron. He knew what Waron¡¯s thoughts regarding this marriage were and he was airing that fire. Waron slowly opened his eyes. ¡°Will you both just shut up? I am trying to think something here¡± The low roar mixed with the murderous aura that he always emanated turned the room dead silent in a seconds. ¡°You have to marry her; it¡¯s futile if you are thinking otherwise.¡± Only Leanor was a fool enough to put his life on line and open his mouth to utter something like this at the moment. Waron hated the Panalovians. He hated how those pointed eared low lives always put up a fight against them and were actually able to defend themselves every time. He hated them so much that he wanted to personally kill them one by one and make the process as slow as possible but above all this he hated the decision his father has taken regarding befriending the elves. His father, King Jarred has apparently seen some talent in the elves in all these years and thought that instead of fighting and killing them we could actually lend a hand of friendship and use them in war against other kingdoms. It was all reluctantly good but when he proposed Waron¡¯s marriage with the elven princess as the way to mend the relationship between both kingdoms, that just wasn¡¯t digestive for Waron. Waron couldn¡¯t stand this but he knew he can¡¯t go against his father and so he decided to do as was expected from him but that has never stopped the fire of hatred he had for the Panalovians. Instead he has been making plans on how to torture the princess when she comes to this palace after their wedding. He has heard the princess Valyne was quite rampant and did reckless things often. Punishing her on a daily basis would be so easy because of this. He is actually looking forward to his after marriage life. It will feel so amazing to slowly break the elven princess. Her beg of mercy will be sweet music to his ears and through her he will be able to fulfill his wish of torturing the whole elven kingdom. ¡°Of course I will marry her Leanor. How can I defy my father? Don¡¯t let these ridiculous thoughts cloud your brain.¡± After seeing Waron¡¯s amusing smile and hearing his words Leanor knows better than to believe what the prince was saying. He can somewhat anticipate where this situation was going but he can literally do nothing about it. ¡°Okay then, now that you have made up your mind why don¡¯t we go and have some fun tonight, drink, party. You can think of this as a present from me before you fall into the wedded life trap.¡± Waron smiled at Martis¡¯s words and got up from his seat and walked out of the room. Martis moved towards Leanor, ¡°You are invited too.¡± ¡°I am busy tonight.¡± Leanor tried to avoid Martis. ¡°Yeah, right.¡± Martis pulled Leanor off of the chair and carried him like a sack on his shoulders restricting all his attempts of escaping. Chapter 4 ¡°Hmm... not quite right, let¡¯s try another one.¡± Merkha gestured the maid standing beside holding a bunch of wedding dresses. She passed the next dress to Fate and Fate walked behind the divider. ¡°You will see Fate this wedding will be so grand that all the kingdoms will only talk about this for the whole year. It will forever be a memorable event for you, for all of us.¡± Behind the divider Fate got into the tightly fitting full dress. It had tight full sleeves and was too narrow towards the knee and calves. If this dress gets chosen then she doesn¡¯t know how she will be able to walk without falling or at least tearing the dress off. Fate came out and stood with head down in front of Merkha. Nervousness can be seen through her actions, she was shifting weight from one leg to another frequently and sweat beads were formed even on her wrist. This all might be actually because of the tight dress but then there will be addition of a few more body parts where she is feeling very uncomfortable at the moment. ¡°Umm¡ this one¡¡± No please, not this one. Fate internally screamed in worry. The air around her felt so heavy that she feared she might literally be squished at the spot, faint because she couldn¡¯t breathe properly. ¡°Not this one. White really doesn¡¯t suit you.¡± ¡°I am sorry¡±, she heaved a sigh of relief. Fate couldn¡¯t understand why Merkha was doing all this. She was not her daughter, she was just a replacement then why was everything progressing as if she was the real princess. She should have been brave and said ¡®no¡¯ when her aunt asked her to fill in place of Valyne for marrying prince Waron. She might have had to live a life harder than she already was, maybe exiled but at least she wouldn¡¯t have to go through all these mess. She couldn¡¯t deny the fact that she was the princess but when has anybody acknowledged that. Her father Lorid, elder brother of king Tranid met his tragic end along with her mother because he had married a mere human going against the royal rule. Eight months old Fate was also decided to be eliminated but then queen Merkha came to her rescue. She held three months old Valyne in her hands and maybe her motherly instincts kicked in at the right moment but at last it was her who saved Fate¡¯s life. This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there. Fate was always thankful to her even if that¡¯s the only thing she did for her. Since that incident Fate has never seen the inside of the palace, she wasn¡¯t allowed to enter even as a commoner. In fact, she was ordered to stay far away from anything royal. A small cottage was built for her at the end of the kingdom near the borders where till she was two years old a maid was provided for taking care of her and after that she was all alone. She fetched her own food and water, made her own clothes and grew herself up. On top of all this she was more useless because she didn¡¯t obtain any powers the elves had. No elemental magic, no healing, she has got nothing of her father other than his silver lavender hair and pointed ears which barely made her fit in the community. She had no idea that Merkha still remembered her and thought of her as someone who could match Valyne. It would have made her happier though if the reason Merkha came to find her for was something not selfish. Anyways, this was the only family she had left and it¡¯s way beyond her power to say ¡®no¡¯ to be helpful to them. She was just happy to be back as a part of this family and the uncomfortability because of a few clothes can¡¯t lessen that. ¡°Change into the next one Fate.¡± With Merkha¡¯s command Fate took the dress from the waiting maid and repeated the whole dressing up process. This time when she went out Merkha stood up and delightedly clapped her hands. ¡°It¡¯s this one. This is just perfect! Go see in the mirror.¡± Fate lifted her eyes and saw a gorgeous off-white gown. Its sleeves were off her shoulders and her chest and stomach was kissed by the smooth texture of the garment. The deep v-neck showed more of her cleavage than she wanted and she couldn¡¯t help blushing. Below the waist the gown was like an oversized umbrella and she could freely walk in it. The hem of the gown touched the ground and swept the floor as she walked. Her dark sea green eyes and long silver lavender hair provided a good contrast to the color of the gown she wore. The embroidered patterns and small shiny stone laden outside of the dress was enough to lighten a dark room. ¡°Bring all the jewelries and other accessories. Now that the dress is selected we have to match up everything else to this.¡± The maid excused herself and Merkha held Fate¡¯s hand and made her sit on the bed. ¡°I know it¡¯s late and you must be tired but this has to be done tonight. Tomorrow morning will be pretty hectic as I have to make sure the other preparations go well and soon it will be time for the wedding at the evening.¡± Fate smiled and nodded but kept on thinking how fast all this was going. Valyne has run off and now it¡¯s her duty to save her family and kingdom but just how far can she carry this duty off. It¡¯s one thing among her own people but will the Rhizens understand and let her off easily if they find out the truth? Merkha has assured her that a situation of that kind will not arise if she stays alert and uses her head to handle matters but will it really bother anyone if she died in Rhize. Tranid and Merkha were king and queen, they can easily get out of this but who was she? Only time will answer all her questions but right now she has to go through more wearing sessions because the maid who left alone was back with three more maids carrying two flat, square boxes in each hand. Chapter 5 The marriage procession was at the borders of Panalov by sunset where a bunch of elven ladies awaited with white lilies to welcome the groom and the guests. This was a tradition of Panalov to show respect and trust towards the arriving guests and it¡¯s only after this ritual any outsider is allowed to enter the borders. Martis was leading the procession and got down of his viorse, the horned beasts which only a Rhizen is known to tame. He gladly accepted the flower and entered the gates followed by his men, the dancers and other artists, ministers and the chariot of king Jarred and prince Waron. Panalov was filled with nature¡¯s beauty. Infinite fields of colorful flowers spreaded as far as one¡¯s eyes can follow and the whole path from the borders till the palace were covered with flower petals. On both sides of the path paper lanterns were hung on the trees and this scene can also be seen in front of houses and rest of the kingdom. The music and laughter from all around gave the feeling of some festival instead of a marriage. The whole Panalov was lighted up and looked really majestic. The procession reached the royal garden and the chariots came to a halt. King Tranid and queen Merkha along with the palace maids were already present there and cordially welcomed everyone from Rhize. King Jarred walked down the chariot with the help of his soldier. His black hairs were covered with more grey streaks now and the big, fancy crown sat proudly on top of them. He was tall and still quite handsome at the age of sixty. He wore a red robe which had ¡®the marching soldiers¡¯ art printed on them. The Rhize flag had the same color and symbol; it reflected the brevity and never backing down attribute of the Rhizens. With stretched hands and a wide smile king Jarred walked towards king Tranid and embraced him tightly almost breaking his bones. When he let him go and gracefully bowed to queen Merkha Tranid was glad it¡¯s only his clothes that got wrinkled and not his ribs. By this time prince Waron had already stepped down his chariot and stood there along with Martis waiting for the pleasantries to get over. He wore a white shirt which was covered by a royal golden coat that fell till his knees and was fastened only at his stomach by a golden belt. His fitting, white trousers narrowed around the ankles and from there fine white leather boots covered his feet. This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it. The collar was fastened with a white bow-tie and a golden cape flowed behind. Gold cuffs around both his wrists and the appropriate sized golden crown along with his wheatish colored skin that dazzled even brightly due to the decorated lights all around made him look like a gold statue taken out of the palace. Receiving his father¡¯s signal prince Waron along with Martis by his side walked towards him. He bowed before the king and queen of Panalov and stood beside his father showing no sign of the storm brewing inside of him. Waron wanted to kill all of them right now but instead he had to bow to them and remain calm which was turning out too hard for him. He gritted his teeth in an attempt to stop himself from committing something reckless. He was guided towards the stage which was again decorated with numerous flowers and satin. Waron felt so unfamiliar with the ways of the Panalovians. If it were a wedding in Rhize there would have been grand party with girls dancing to the tunes of music, booze was a definite item and then there were fireworks for a perfect ending. All he could see here was flowers, they were bloody everywhere. The elves only wear white or some dull color derived from the apples and bananas that grew here. The only thing he approved was their jewelry. All items were studded with precious and vibrant gem stones which grabbed his attention. The elves absolutely have some great treasure mines and jewel-smith in this territory and that will be super profitable for Rhize when he takes over Panalov. The sky was clear and the moon shone brightly above as if it¡¯s here to witness the wedding. The guests have arrived and so have the priest. The only person that was awaited now was princess Valyne, Fate. Within few minutes loud cheers from the crowd echoed when Merkha walked out of the palace holding hand of a veiled beauty. Waron¡¯s eyes focused on Fate¡¯s slender torso as she walked in slow steps towards the stage in the heavy gown. Exquisite! He thought. He has had his fair share of beauties before who on many occasions have warmed his bed. Some threw themselves at him and many were ravished by him but no one grabbed his attention as his bride. He has been told that he was handsome. Jet black hair, dark brown eyes, straight nose, full lips and a toned body, he was a perfect visual for anyone¡¯s eyes at his age of twenty three but he was no match with her. She looked just amazing. Her slender hand held her mother¡¯s as she walked with her head down and face covered by a veil. Her dress gave him a good view from her neck till her cleavage and the smoothness of her skin can be literally seen. The emerald necklace on her neck complimented her beauty and Waron forgot to breathe for a moment. She walked up the stairs where Merkha gave her hand to Tranid¡¯s and finally Tranid walked her to Waron and placed her hands onto his stretched one. He gently held her. The rumors about the elven princess being a beauty out of this world were right. He couldn¡¯t wait for the fun to begin when they get back to Rhize. His determination of breaking her will unleash right upon their marital bed. Chapter 6 It was early in the morning when the procession entered Rhize. The sun wasn¡¯t out yet but the lively streets and welcoming music was a sure sign that the kingdom was awake and eagerly waiting for their future king and queen. There were drums, fireworks, cheers of people who walked in unison with the procession towards the palace. The humongous palace supported by golden pillars showed the economic strength of the kingdom. The high walled fence around the borders of the kingdom that was guarded by more than thousands of soldiers depicted the men power and provided the feeling of immense safety to the citizens. Jarred got down of the chariot as they reached at the palace and a dozen of maids and men-servants rushed to attend him. ¡°Milna, let me be. Go and help the new bride, go get her inside.¡± Milna, the middle-aged lady dressed in a long peach and white colored gown that was the uniform for the servants inside the palace bowed and excused herself. She reached to the second chariot and lifted the curtains to see a lonely, nervous Fate sitting with her head down. Waron had left the moment they reached the palace and was nowhere nearby. Milna knew now why Jarred hurried her to accompany the poor girl. She went inside the compartment and sat beside Fate. ¡°You have reached at the palace, shall we get down now?¡± She comforted Fate, patting her hands slowly. Fate nodded slowly and both came out of the chariot gaining attention from the spectators. Fate¡¯s eyes roamed around in curiousness from under the veil. Everything looked foggy to her and the only thing she could make out was that there were a lot of people around her. She carefully walked inside the palace with help of Milna who took her to the centre of the hall where one chair of the two was already occupied by Waron. He was sitting expressionless but when he saw Fate coming in an amusing smile came across his face. Jarred came and stood beside him, ¡°where are your manners son?¡± This brought Waron back to reality and he stood up straight waiting for his wife to arrive so he can go back to replaying his plan in his mind. He has been thinking about ways to make Fate feel insulted the whole way to Rhize and a great idea have stuck with him. After the ritual of unveiling the bride is over everyone will go to enjoy the feast and that will be the time for his plan to spring into action.Stolen content alert: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences. ¡°Now prince Waron will lift the veil of his bride¡± king Jarred addressed to the crowd and cheers followed. Waron walked closer and lifted the white, smooth material off Fate¡¯s face. His eyes widened and his hands froze on the spot. There were sudden gasps from the crowd followed by pin-drop silence. Confused and nervous Fate lifted her head in a rush and her eyes shifted from side to side looking at people gaping at her. ¡°She is so pretty mama.¡± A little girl¡¯s comment brought out a relieved sigh from Fate and she shyly smiled. The whole palace roared with loud sound of claps and a few wolf-whistles also emerged. Waron abruptly turned his head to the audience and glared at them but no one cared at all. Even Martis and Leanor were standing among the crowd and enjoying the occasion. Knowing that he can¡¯t stop this in any way he turned his head back and did what others were doing, ogled at his wife. Her purple hair had a mix of silver streaks in them which glittered in the lights. They fell in long curls below her shoulders and a few strands on both sides from front were taken and braided till back with small white flowers fixated on them. It formed kind of a small flower tiara. Her deep green eyes, shyly smiling pink, full lips reflected her inner happiness and innocence. She had a round fair face and¡ and pointed ears. Waron blinked his eyes rapidly. Yes, she had pointed ears, she was an elf and that meant she was enemy. She didn¡¯t deserve the appreciation of any Rhize born, these people are fools. The ritual is over now and the crowd dispersed still talking about how beautiful the new bride was. This excitement of everyone will soon be over as Waron was hell bent on humiliating Fate as much as he can which will make her to leave Rhize and then there will be a war that will mark the end of Panalov. Seeing not many people around he walked to Fate who was still standing with her head down waiting for someone to guide her. Perfect! ¡°Would you like to have something to eat? You must have been fasting since yesterday morning. Aren¡¯t you hungry?¡± Waron had a fake smile plastered to his face, all for the show. Fate¡¯s face suddenly changed to a worried one and she moved a step back. ¡°I am f-fine. I would like to rest a bit first.¡± This was unexpected. Waron¡¯s smile didn¡¯t faltered though. ¡°Okay then. Come with me, I will help you to your room.¡± He walked in the opposite direction and Fate followed behind him in careful strides. She didn¡¯t want to trip and fall making a laughing stock of herself in front of the prince. ¡°On our way though, do you mind meeting a few of my friends? They have been really waiting eagerly to see you.¡± Fate couldn¡¯t bring herself to say ¡®no¡¯ to him when he was asking so gently to her. This was not an undoable request either and so she answered with a ¡°sure.¡± Waron walked straight into the trio¡¯s meeting room where he knew Martis and Leanor would be waiting because he had asked them previously. They have been notified by Waron that he wants them to meet his wife personally because they have been friends for a long time. Both were glad about this and waited in the room accordingly not having the slightest idea about what devilish plans were brewing in Waron¡¯s mind. Chapter 7 Waron locked the door after Fate was inside. The room was well lit and Martis and Leanor stood from their chairs and walked in front of Fate. They bowed down saying, ¡°welcome my lady¡± in unison. Waron didn¡¯t bother about any of this. He went straight and plopped himself on his usual seat. Fate bowed to both Martis and Leanor but then not knowing what to do stood awkwardly in the center with her head down. ¡°My lady, please come and sit here.¡± Leanor spoke up and gestured her to an empty chair beside Waron. Fate nodded and slowly walked towards it but a sudden ¡°stop¡± from Waron made her halt. Martis and Leanor didn¡¯t quite get him either and so gave Waron a questioning look and he finally spoke up. ¡°You both go and sit in your places. She is new here, even for me and so I think she can introduce herself a bit more than just giving bows to us.¡± ¡°We don¡¯t need knowing anything more than she has married you and is our future queen and as far as giving her introduction to you is concerned I am sure you should do that with your wife in a more personal way, without us.¡± Leanor¡¯s voice was free of any uncertainty. ¡°Yes prince Waron.¡± It war Martis this time. ¡°I am sure she would like to rest now after a long day. Why don¡¯t you take her to her room or we can get out of here and you can both introduce yourselves.¡± His voice was again coated with tease but he didn¡¯t intend to provoke Waron. ¡°Do as I say and keep your asses back in your chairs.¡± There was no sign of any smile on Waron¡¯s face and his tone has turned highly authorative. Martis and Leanor know better than to pinch Waron at a time like this and took their seats still having tons of questions in their heads. ¡°So, we shall start now. Come closer elf.¡± At Waron¡¯s command Fate¡¯s heart suddenly dropped. He was behaving and talking so gently just moments ago, where did all that vanish? She walked forward and stopped when Waron showed his palm. ¡°We will start easy. What¡¯s your name and you can also something more about you.¡± ¡°My name is Valyne and I am the p-princess of Panalov.¡± Her voice was shaky and she felt dizzy. Standing in front of Waron¡¯s glare was not at all comfortable for her but she didn¡¯t dare to utter it out of her mouth. ¡°You think we are dumb. Of course everybody already knows this. Tell us something else.¡± Annoyance was clearly visible on his face, he was slowly losing his patience. Fate fiddled with her fingers thinking about what she can speak which will satisfy him, what did he want to hear from her? This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience. Martis and Leanor were not enjoying this either, especially Leanor. He hated and was worried about this behavior of Waron. Waron never listened to him and did as he wished whenever he wished. Stubborn is an appropriate word to describe him. ¡°Fine. I will make this easier for you. I will ask the questions and you can just answer them. Will that be fine?¡± Fate rapidly nodded and let out a sigh of relief. She had already heard about Waron from Merkha. Deadly is what the queen has mentioned him as and Fate can actually see that he was an arrogant and short-tempered person but he was trying to help her. He didn¡¯t seem deadly to her. ¡°I have heard that you are quite valor and generally spend your time in the arena honing your fighting skills for the time of war rather than staying at your lavish palace enjoying the luxury.¡± Fate didn¡¯t know what to say to this. It¡¯s true that she stayed nearby the borders but she was not Valyne. She was not a fighter and certainly didn¡¯t have the body or reflexes of one. She slowly nods her head nevertheless. ¡°Right. We will witness that someday when we are out on the ground. Next question. I have also heard that you are the most beautiful girl in your kingdom. Is that right?¡± Fate hesitated for a second again before nodding her head. ¡°I guess we can all agree that your face is really beautiful but how about the rest of the body? How can we trust that you are really beautiful?¡± What was he trying to say? Fate thought hard but the only answer that came to her mind couldn¡¯t be actually the thing he was thinking, right? ¡°Why don¡¯t you take that gown off so that we can confirm ourselves, clear our doubts about your beauty.¡± Fate¡¯s eyes widened at his words. He didn¡¯t mean what he said, right? He didn¡¯t really want her to stand here and strip off of her clothes, right? But he did say that clearly. That¡¯s exactly what he wants. ¡°Prince Waron I don¡¯t thi-¡± ¡°Do you even understand what you are saying?¡± Leanor beats Martis in opposing Waron¡¯s orders. ¡°Why don¡¯t you both relax and enjoy the show. I am sure this is first time for all of us to see an elf naked.¡± ¡°This is not something I am enjoying and so me and Martis will leave now and suggest you to stop all this.¡± Leanor looked at Martis and for once Martis was actually listening to him and got half up his chair when Waron spoke again, ¡°Well then, let¡¯s do it this way. I order you both to stay in this room and to only leave when I say you to. Not complying with my orders will get you both beheaded.¡± ¡°You know this is not right prince Waron.¡± Leanor tried again but this time he had nothing in his hands. ¡°Why don¡¯t you just shut up and sit down and what are you waiting for, get that dress off of you.¡± Waron relaxed his back on the cushion placed behind him and focused his gaze on Fate. Fate on the other hand was badly shivering. Tears threatened to fall out of her eyes and she was too scared to even blink them. She should fight him telling that his is all wrong but can she? Should she? Will he listen? Why did she bother about all this now? She should have denied for the marriage but now that she was here she had no way out. Waron is not someone who will listen, that¡¯s exactly what he has been doing till now. ¡°Don¡¯t bother, I will do it myself.¡± Waron took out his sword from its sheath and swung it towards Fate when a loud bang on the door made everyone jump on their feet. Chapter 8 ¡°Prince Waron, is lady Valyne here with you?¡± It was Milna¡¯s voice outside the door. Waron was somewhat relieved after he heard Milna. The intensity of that knock made him think it was someone else. ¡°Yes she is. What do you want?¡± His sword was still placed in front of Fate¡¯s chest, ready to cut open her dress. ¡°She needs to eat something and rest. The king has ordered me to take her to her room and attend to her needs. Please let her out.¡± ¡°She has told me that she is not hungry right now and about her rest, you don¡¯t have to worry. I will leave her in her room after we finish up in here.¡± A smirk played on his face as he looked at Fate¡¯s shivering figure. His intention of slowly breaking her was working. ¡°Open the door Waron.¡± Waron¡¯s eyes widened hearing the male voice this time. He kept the sword back in a hurry and almost ran towards the door and opened it with a smiling face. ¡°Father, you didn¡¯t have to come here. I would have sent her to the room myself. Milna stood behind the king and didn¡¯t make any eye contact with Waron. No wonder that knock sounded nothing like Milna¡¯s. ¡°If you were going to do that, you should have already done that. Why did you bring the girl here? What were you doing inside?¡± ¡°I¡ just brought her here to meet Martis and Leanor. They wanted to meet her.¡± Waron stood aside giving his father a clear view of the scene inside. Martis and Leanor bowed before him and Jarred acknowledged with a nod. ¡°This all could have been done later as well. Don¡¯t you three understand that she will be tired after travelling the whole night? You should have taken her to her room first.¡± Jarred was slowly getting angrier and all that was coming out on Waron. ¡°Milna, take the girl with you and make sure she stays in her room as long as she is ready to come out.¡± With Jarred¡¯s orders Milna walked inside the room and got Fate out of there without any barrier. Fate¡¯s body was still shaking and she couldn¡¯t believe she had just barely avoided getting herself naked in front of three strangers. She was very thankful to Jarred and Milna but she couldn¡¯t bring herself to lift her head and look into her eyes. Fate was sure that Milna would be able to see her tearful red eyes and then she had to explain to her what happened inside the room. She didn¡¯t have any energy left for that. This text was taken from Royal Road. Help the author by reading the original version there. Milna opened the door to a room and Fate entered inside after her. ¡°You wait here my lady, I¡¯ll be back.¡± Fate didn¡¯t want to stay alone in any room right now but Milna had kept the door half open and that was kind of a consolation. Fate finally lifted her head and let herself sniffle without fear of anyone hearing. She looked around the room. It was huge and filled with things. A king sized golden bed topped with white mattress, white pillow and a white comforter at one end. There was a dressing table at one corner that attached a waist length mirror. One whole length of the room on one side was covered with cupboards. The widow to her left which will be right in front of the bed were opened and let the dawn light through the white, flower patterned curtains. Fate rubbed her eyes and started to walk towards the window when she heard footsteps behind her. She turned to find Milna along with one more girl standing by the door. ¡°My lady, this is Caris. She will be your personal maid from now and will attend to all your daily needs. Of course, you can ask for more maids and change her if she didn¡¯t please you.¡± ¡°That won¡¯t be necessary. She will be fine, thank you.¡± Fate¡¯s voice came out a little hoarse and she feared that Milna will take a hint but fortunately that didn¡¯t happen and Milna gave her a smile and left the room leaving Caris there. The girl in front of Fate wore the same peach and white gown as Milna and had her brown hair tied up in a bun. ¡°How old are you?¡± Fate started a conversation because she wanted a distraction. ¡°I am twenty years old my lady.¡± Caris¡¯s youthful voice proved that she was telling the truth. Fate¡¯s curiosity kicked in and she wanted to know more about her. ¡°How long have you been working here?¡± ¡°I am in the palace since nine years my lady.¡± Fate was surprised at her answer. They start working from such a young age here. At Panalov the maids are generally chosen after the girl has touched eighteen. She is then trained for two years and then officially starts her work. Caris helped Fate out of her dress and accessories and arranged a warm bath for her to relax. By the time Fate was done with her bath Caris had brought a plate of food for her which she ate while continuing to talk with Caris. Even if Caris was a year older than her, Fate felt a certain relief in talking with her. She laughed freely and her mood was now brighter. Caris left when Fate asked her to telling that now she would like to get some sleep and hence there was no need for her to stay in the room anymore. In her night gown which was just an ankle length, super smooth and comfortable, sleeveless gown Fate felt a little exposed but she didn¡¯t care. It did have a white full sleeved over coat but she didn¡¯t feel like wearing it. After turning the bedside lamp off she let her body lie down and closed her eyes trying not to think about the recent events. In a few moments she sat up straight with a loud gasp when the door suddenly opened. Her fear returned when she saw Waron standing at the door with an evil smirk that made his intentions almost clear. Chapter 9 Fate didn¡¯t know what to do other than gulping at the sight of her husband, her tormentor. When Waron closed the door behind him and walked towards her she knew she was trapped. Of course, he had access to wherever she goes in this palace. He was her husband and that meant he can have his way with her. No one can or would stop him if he wants to spend night with his wife. She didn¡¯t feel relaxing anymore. She wanted to run off from here, far enough where he will never find her and she could be in peace. Waron was standing beside the bed now and Fate crawled back till she can go no more. She tried to turn the night lamp on as a last attempt to get herself calmed but Waron¡¯s cold hand caught her wrist in mid-air ceasing the action. He was holding her hand so tightly that she couldn¡¯t stop a painful moan to escape from her mouth. ¡°Shhh. If you dare make a single sound I am going to break your wrist.¡± The intent he carried of hurting her was transparent in his words and Fate hurriedly put her free hand over her mouth. Waron kept on twisting her hand but when she didn¡¯t made a single sound or movement he let her go. This was no more interesting for him because she wasn¡¯t reacting anymore. The grin was back on his face. There was no worry if this tactic of his didn¡¯t work. He came prepared today, he will make sure she is scared of him, so scared that she can¡¯t even look him in the eye and despise to be at the same place he was in. He placed his hand on top of her thigh covered by her night dress and moved it closer towards her private part. Fate sucked in a breath and tightened her clasp on her covered mouth. She buckled her legs together to stop him from going any further but he was annoyed by this behavior of her and used both of his hands to get her legs apart.Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on the original website. There have been a lot of incidences on which Fate had no say and was thrown around by people as they saw fit but not this time. She can¡¯t give up to this. Without her consent this is not right even if it was her husband. Despite of Waron¡¯s continuous effort he couldn¡¯t be successful in getting Fate¡¯s legs apart so he just retreated his hands. Thinking that Waron has given up Fate relaxed her legs and Waron took this chance to put his hand under her gown. Fate¡¯s body tensed again and she looked at Waron in disbelief. In the moonlight she could see him giving her a victorious smile. No way! What has she got herself into?! This was supposed to be a marriage between two kingdoms to stop the future wars and live a peaceful life but what she was seeing in Waron¡¯s eyes, was going through right now seems as if she was a sacrifice. It¡¯s like Waron is torturing her on behalf of the whole Panalov. Does this mean he is not going to stop any time soon? As Waron¡¯s cold hand touched her naked skin and slowly grazed her smooth skin towards her inner thigh Fate¡¯s body heated up and drops of tears started falling down her cheeks. Waron never stopped looking at her face, enjoying her distressed expression every time it changed. His smile widened when he saw her glistened cheeks and felt her shivering body. Her crying was his pleasure and he wanted to do this over and over. ¡°Prince Waron, there is some urgent matter you need to attend to.¡± Martis¡¯s voice spoken from outside the door broke Waron¡¯s bubble of thoughts and his smile faltered for a second. ¡°I will be out. Give me five minutes.¡± He brought his face closer to Fate and lifted her chin with his finger. ¡°I am sure you are liking this a lot and trust me I am enjoying myself too.¡± Fate¡¯s sobs got harder as she heard him speak, ¡°But as you can see I am needed somewhere else right now but I promise that I will meet you soon my wife.¡± Waron moved his face to the crook of Fate¡¯s neck and licked her there. Fate gasped and closed her eyes tightly trying to avoid the electric waves passing through her whole body. With a hearty laugh Waron got up and left the room leaving a crying Fate behind with the promise that he will be back soon to torture her. Chapter 10 Sleep was far away from Fate¡¯s eyes. Her pillow was stained wet from the enormous amount of tears she had deposited on it. She wanted to go home. Panalov has given her nothing but unlike here she felt safe there. The most her people have ever done was give her pitiful looks and she was used to that but not this. In the palace as long as Waron was around the fear of exploitation will never leave her. Merkha had warned her to stay alert but no one could prepare her for this. When it¡¯s her husband who is her enemy where will she go to ask for help? The early morning orange light seeped through the curtains slowly lighting the whole room up. The two hours crying have made her fully exhausted and she had no will to get out of the bed. ¡°My lady, are you up?¡± A gentle knock followed Caris¡¯s sweet voice. ¡°Yes Caris. Come in.¡± Caris walked in with a plate in her hands. A cup of chamomile tea and small pieces of fruits were assorted on the plate. The warm scent of chamomile was a refreshing start for the morning. Fate uncurled herself and sat on the bed dangling her legs down. She closed her eyes while the taste of the tea woke her nerves up, she felt energized. The thought that she could actually go through this first day in Rhize after her marriage made its way into her head. All she has to do is try as much as possible to stay away from Waron¡¯s eyes, at least in the day time. With so many people around he can¡¯t do anything inappropriate with her even if he gets his hands on her. After her bath Fate sat in front of the mirror and Caris helped doing her make-up and hair. Fate was surprised to see that the dressing table drawers were filled with variety of accessories for a girl to get ready and Caris made sure she uses a majority of it. Thirty minutes of choosing and wearing a dress and forty minutes of dolling up have left Fate looking absolutely gorgeous. She got out of the room with Caris tailing behind her. Two bodyguards who stood in both sides of the room bowed to Fate and got ready to walk behind her. Their bulky body along with the spear they carried and their faces with no hint of a smile intimidated Fate and she avoided eye contact with them. ¡°Caris, is there a library in the palace?¡± ¡°Yes, my lady. Would you like to go there?¡± Caris came closer and stood beside Fate.If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it. ¡°Yes. Could you please lead the way?¡± Caris gladly walked a feet forward Fate the whole way to the library. Both the guard stayed outside and both ladies made way into the huge white room. Fate glided her fingers over the books neatly arranged on the golden racks and a familiar feeling came over her. In Panalov, the public library was her second home. Other than coming home at night she kept herself engulfed in the magical world of books. She would start with one but then get carried away and complete at least three by the time she has to leave. This was her way to live in her little fantasy world by imagining herself as the heroine of the story, conquering the world, finding the love of her life, being always happy despite the situations. Like a child with a bag of sweets she walked from here to there looking at the books with a permanent smile planted on her lips. She could definitely spend all her time here and forget all about the rest of the world. ¡°My lady?¡± Fate turned to see a surprised but smiling young man with glasses and green hair. It didn¡¯t take her much time to remember him as one of the person present in the room with her husband yesterday. The thought of running out of the library stroke her but instead an uncomfortable cold sensation came over her and her whole body felt numb. ¡°My lady, are you alright?¡± Leanor¡¯s voice had concern in them after seeing Fate¡¯s expression. The poor girl was scared of him. He could understand that it was a given after what she has to go through yesterday. ¡°My lady, my apologies to have startled you and I am also sorry for what you have to go through yesterday.¡± Fate didn¡¯t know if his apology was sincere but she did remember him taking stand for her when her husband made things hard for her. Was that enough to put her trust in him though? She had no idea but what other choice did she have right now? ¡°Would you want some recommendations?¡± Fate could see Leanor was trying to start a conversation and make her feel relaxed but it¡¯s as if none of his words were audible to her. She could only see him smile and moving his lips but she didn¡¯t catch anything he was saying. ¡°Ah I remember. I didn¡¯t get a chance to introduce myself to you yesterday. My name is Leanor and I am prince Waron¡¯s advisor.¡± ¡°Nice to meet you.¡± Fate must give it to him; Leanor was really persistent and kept on at it till he made her talk. Just at the moment when both finally exchanged a smile a rough cough was heard from the entry door of the library. It was Waron. His eyes held fire in them which was intended to burn Fate and to some extent it did work. The comfortableness that Fate had just achieved faded along with the colors from her face. Under the hard gaze of her husband she slowly felt herself getting timid and that urge of running off kicked in again. ¡°Well. Seeing you moving around the palace and making friends makes me sure that all your tiredness is gone after a good rest.¡± Waron gave her a look that said she is in trouble, again. Fate nodded and Waron¡¯s face broke into a wide grin. ¡°I thought as much. Come out to the ground. It¡¯s time our soldiers see you in action and learn how good fighter their new princess is.¡± That¡¯s it. After hearing Waron Fate was sure this will be her last day in the palace. Surely her identity will be out when Waron sees she can¡¯t even lift the sword and then that will be the end of her. Chapter 11 ¡°Is this even necessary prince Waron. The morning hasn¡¯t even started properly and you are here to pester her.¡± Waron was surprised at Leanor¡¯s selection of words. It sounded as if Waron was trying to do some crime by asking her to show her skills to Rhizen soldiers. ¡°Come on Leanor. Why do you think this idea is bad? She is a talented warrior and I just want to make sure that our men have an idea about how good her fighting skills are so that when time comes they know that they can depend on their princess to lead them in war.¡± ¡°Even if I trust that you have good intentions in your heart regarding what you are doing I just can¡¯t understand why you have to do everything in a hurry. Can¡¯t she take her time in adjusting to this new place, know everyone and then go the training camp.¡± Waron was sending warning signal to Leanor through his eyes but he was either too oblivious or used to this gesture. ¡°Time is something we don¡¯t have my friend. I don¡¯t want the citizens to feel defend-less if me and father are out fighting with enemies. The soldiers and commoners need to know that their princess is capable enough to protect them.¡± No one can beat Waron¡¯s logic anymore. For a second even Fate thought he was being thoughtful towards the kingdom¡¯s welfare but when she saw his sly smile directed towards her she understood that he was making all these excuses just to get her into the field. ¡°Fine. Do whatever you want. It¡¯s not like you will listen to me anyways. I will see you later my lady.¡± Bowing to both Waron and Fate, Leanor took his leave. ¡°You, get the princess ready to go into the training camp.¡± Waron told Caris and she hurried Fate towards her room. ¡°I will be waiting for you outside my lady.¡± Waron whispered into Fate¡¯s ears as she passed by him. Soon Caris got Fate ready. Instead of a lavish gown now she was wearing a black half sleeved top that touched till her waist and tight black slacks. Her hair was done in a high bun and she kept looking at her reflection in the mirror.Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. The last thing Caris did was put the top armor through Fate¡¯s head and sealed its sides. So heavy. Fate felt her whole body being burdened by the armor¡¯s weight. Now she doubted if she would be able to walk properly. Out of the room every step she took towards the camp made her heart beat faster. She didn¡¯t worry anymore about her fate but only regretted that it¡¯s her fault whole Panalov will undergo a bad end. When she reached at the training camp with Caris she couldn¡¯t believe her eyes. Men and women held weapons like swords and spear and threw them at each other without a care of someone getting seriously hurt. ¡°I would like to have everybody¡¯s attention here.¡± Waron¡¯s voice boomed through the whole field. ¡°I have someone here to introduce you all to.¡± A whole lot of heads turned towards her and Fate felt her face burning up. She was getting attention of more than hundred people here which was definitely very new for her. ¡°I am sure all of you are well aware of what a fantastic fighter princess Valyne is. Today all of us will witness her in action.¡± Loud, heavy cheers of interest covered Fate¡¯s ears and her dizziness was back. No way! She cannot do this! She might just tell the truth now than suffer situations like this every day. ¡°Come on princess, show us what you have got.¡± A man with a sword in his hand came to the front and spoke. ¡°You understand that you represent Panalov here, right?¡± beside Fate Waron spoke in a low voice. ¡°Think carefully before you try to avoid this. And yes, nobody will come to save you here.¡± Merkha¡¯s voice played in Fate¡¯s head. ¡®Deadly¡¯. That¡¯s the word she had described Waron as and she can see he really is very much so. Instead of using the strength to fight he has been using his brain very cunningly. For the first time in her life Fate felt brave. She wanted to teach this brat a lesson and wipe that smile off his face. She walked down the stairs to the field and took a fighting stance looking at Waron. Smiling at him, letting him know that she wasn¡¯t afraid of his tricks anymore. Waron¡¯s eyes widened and Fate felt a surge of happiness run through her body. Little did she know Waron¡¯s reaction changed because he had noticed the hefty woman wearing an armor charging towards her. Bang! A fist connected to the armor around her chest and Fate¡¯s body went flying about a meter above making an arc in the air and then fell on the ground and rolled on the ground for another five meter hitting the hard fence. ¡°Shit!¡± Waron ran towards her and turned Fate¡¯s body to face up. He lifted her hand and when he let it go it fell on the ground making a cloud of dust float around. ¡°She isn¡¯t dead, is she?¡± ¡°Were you trying to do that Rachael?¡± Waron sternly asked the woman reasonable for Fate¡¯s condition, who was now hovering above Fate¡¯s face. ¡°She has taken a bad hit. Go tell Tara to get a bed ready for her.¡± Waron carried Fate in princess style and walked towards the hospital unit feeling really stupid about his decision to put her into a fight when she was clearly not ready for it. Chapter 12 ¡°Bring her here.¡±A fair and skinny woman told Waron and he complied. Fate was now lying on a fairly thin single bed and Waron was unfastening her armor. ¡°Look at the size of that dent!¡± Tara took the armor from Waron and eyed it with surprise. ¡°Rachael, are you sure you weren¡¯t trying to break her bones?¡± Waron gave Rachael another stern look and she lifted her hand in defense. ¡°Didn¡¯t you tell she was a good fighter? I thought she would be able to take it.¡± ¡°¡±Ah. So, it was you. I am not even surprised. It¡¯s just like you to bring your newly wedded wife into the camp and make your soldiers beat the shit out of her.¡± Waron exhaled at Tara¡¯s mocking. He had no way of countering the allegations thrown at him because inside his heart he had the same feeling as well. He did think himself that he was responsible for what happened to Fate. He is never going to show that though, this side of his that had feelings. He was the future king of Rhize and people regard him as the cold hearted beast, that¡¯s exactly what he needs them to keep thinking. He can never give up this image of his otherwise there will be no fear and respect in the eyes of people for him. ¡°Prince Waron.¡± Martis came and stood at the door and Waron looked at Tara. ¡°Go on. That¡¯s definitely more important than your wife. I will make sure she stays fine.¡± Tara spoke through gritted teeth and Waron somewhat reluctantly left the room. Fate opened her eyes when she felt her stomach growl in hunger. Looking around her she noticed a white spacious, well lit room which had the smell of disinfectants and medicine. Her armor was neatly kept on a stool at a distance. She tried to get up but a piercing pain ran through her ribs. She dipped back into the mattress with a painful ¡°Argh¡±. ¡°You need to lie down longer to heal properly.¡± Fate looked at the tall, shoulder length silver haired woman who walked towards her with crossed hands. ¡°That armor took a lot of the hit which was coming for your ribs and so they didn¡¯t break but you have hit your head on the fence.¡± Fate¡¯s fingers went up to her head instantly. She felt a small patch of bandage there and a sudden headache crept in.This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author''s work. Tara came closer to Fate and gave her a pitiful look. ¡°I am sorry you had to go through all this, my condolences my lady.¡± This was exactly what Fate has gone through all this years. Fate knows that look which her people had often given her but this time she felt really bad for it. She didn¡¯t want people in Rhize to treat her in the same way people in Panalov did. She came here as a princess and wanted that dignity to stay intact. ¡°I am fine actually. These small injuries doesn¡¯t hurt or matter much to me, I am used to them.¡± Fate was doing her best in hiding her pain but Tara¡¯s look of sorryness remained the same. ¡®Grrrrr¡¯ another growl erupted from Fate¡¯s stomach and she awkwardly smiled at Tara. ¡°I will get someone to bring a meal for you my lady¡± with a smile Tara turned and left the room while Fate¡¯s face flushed red. Whole day Waron stayed busy in attending meetings and discussing future of Rhize with the ministers but the thought of Fate never left him. At times he spaced out in between heated debates but soon recovered. ¡®This won¡¯t do¡¯ he thought to himself, ¡®I have to go and see if Valyne is okay.¡¯ As soon as he got out of his scheduled works he hurried towards the infirmary but there was no sign of Fate there. Worriedly he walked to Tara¡¯s cabin and banged his hands on the table. ¡°Where is she? Did you send her back to the palace?¡± ¡°Are you scared she will go and tell about your doings to king Jarred? You kind of deserve a good spanking, no?¡± ¡°Come on Tara. Will you just stop taunting me and speak about her whereabouts.¡± ¡°Or what? Will you break my table and show how dangerous you are? Or maybe it will be my neck.¡± Tara was glad that she could make a few minutes of Waron¡¯s life worse. ¡°She went to the training camp. Rachael came to meet her and your wife just walked out with her. She was still in pain when I saw her walking but convinced me by telling that she needed fresh air.¡± The next second Waron was out of Tara¡¯s cabin. ¡®What the hell did she think she was doing? She should have stayed here and rested but instead she went to the camp and that too with the person who was responsible to put her in the hospital. When he put his foot on the training camp he felt certain cheeriness in the air. Loud ¡®ha ha¡¯ was heard from a distance and he could see a crowd being formed. ¡°What is happening here?¡± Waron broke through the crowd to see a laughing Fate sitting in the middle. After Fate Martis was the second person on whom his eyes fell. ¡°Would you explain to me what all of you are doing here? Don¡¯t you have to practice?¡± ¡°It¡¯s already after sunset, the practicing hours are over. Princess Valyne is entertaining us here with some funny stories from Panalov.¡± Martis spoke on behalf of everyone and earned a deadly glare from Waron. ¡°Would you like to join us my lord?¡± Fate asked Waron in an innocent voice but Waron took that as slyness. ¡°No, thank you. Waron turned and walked towards the palace and Fate with a hanging head followed behind him as fast as she could while grabbing her hurting ribs.
