After he was finished using his points, he called his status screen.
-Well, it''s now or never, I should get this done.
He entered the new room, in it, there was a throne with carved skulls on it. The final boss looks like some sort of goblin with a crown, it''s nameplate markes it as a Goblin Lord. As their eyes meet, the boss stands up and charges ahead, his sword trailing behind.
Rellik opens his eyes, he''s back in the starting area, but it''s changed. Where there was once an empty clearing, there''s now the start of a town.
-Look who the cat dragged in. Did you have fun Rellik?
-Hey Paladin, this place has really changed.
-Yeah, We had a load of crafters in the batch and had to build workshops. So, how did it go after we died?
Rellik smiles.
-It went okay, I just defeated a level 15 boss and managed to almost clear the first floor of a dungeon. After a bit of thought, he also added. I almost forgot, I''ve reached level 8 and got a piercing dagger.
-No way, I don''t believe you, you''re kidding.
As they were talking, Paladin brings Rellik to a building in the center of the town.
-Let''s talk more inside, someting happened while you were gone.
Chapter 4: A new class
Once they were safely inside, Paladin starts talking.
-About ten minutes ago, the elven king called and told me to get the strongest fighter out of all of us. Something about a meeting.
He whispers a chant and a screen appears before us, on it is what Rellik assumes to be a high elf.
-So you''re the so-called champion. The king sneers at that comment. You don''t look so tough, anyway, my warships are entering your solar system as we speak. Prepare for total destruction.
The screen vanishes and the two men look at each other, finally, Rellik starts speaking.
-Listen to me, we need everyone to reach level ten to unlock classes. Then, we should raid the dungeon I found and use it as a base of operation. He dashes of, only waiting long enough for the other man to acnowledge his words.

Rellik stands in front of the Goblin lord''s chamber looking at the messages in front of him.
|
You have learned a spell:
Frost chains
|
|
Allows the user to create chains made of ice to pin down an enemy
|
| You can now choose a class |
The last message was followed by a huge list of options, which at least had a search bar. After about five minutes of thinking, he chose a class that seemed to have potential. The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.
| Familiar mage |
One of the familiar mage''s greatest assets is their familiar, which can be used to cast spells from the creature''s repertoire. A high level familiar mage could have the strongest spell of each element |
| Embersand cat |
A master of fire, earth and light magic, this kitty was worshipped in ancient times. |
| Healingsap fox |
This canine is a master of healing, nature and life magic. Debates are still going on whether it is a plant or an animal. |
| Wisdomflow raven |
This bird knows all and sees all. It uses it''s water, wind and dream magic to devine it''s opponents'' mouvements. |
Rellik groans.
-They didn''t even hide the fact that this is a starter choice. Well, I guess I''ll go with the cat.
|
Embersand cat (female) selected
Please name your familiar:
|
After another minute of reflection, he says.
-I think I''ll go with Bast, it''s a name fitting of an ancient cat god.
After that statement, a glowing shape emerges from his body and forms the shape of a kit. It''s fur is dark tan with charcoal-black spots. When Bast opens her eyes, Rellik sees that they have golden irises.
-She really is a feline god. He says while shaking his head.
|
Congratulations on your new companion, here are some things to note:
1. A familiar''s level is equal to it''s owner
2. For the next week, your familiar will grow at a rate of 30:1
3. Familiars might be eternally loyal to you but other companions may not
P.S: Bast is so cute, you better take care of her or I''m taking her away Jace.
|
-Luna?
| What are you talking about, there are no Luna''s here |
Shaking his head at the girl''s message, Rellik gets ready to open the door to the boss.
Chapter 5: How to train your familiar
Putting Bast in his shirt to protect her, Rellik opens the door and attaches a frost chain to the boss'' right arm. He then freezes the ground underneath the goblin and waits for it to fall. When the lord hits the floor, Rellik dismisses his chain and summons a new one tthat goes across the boss, blocking both his hands. Approaching the goblin, he stabs it in the face, that seems to be a signal, as the lord rips free of the constraints and knocks Rellik on the ground. The boss raises his greatsword and he raises his hands to protect his companion. Rellik feels a small nose nudge him and he looks down to see Bast with a glowing mouth. She launches a fireball at the goblin''s face and he crumples on the floor, apparently weak to fire.
-Good job Bast. Rellik says to the furball as a screen appears in front of him.
|
Your familiar has learned a spell:
Small fireball

The most basic of fire atttacks, every pyromancer needs to start somewhere

He dismisses the message and looks to his familiar.
-We need to get you trained so that you can help me fight agains the evil elves.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rellik lets out a sight, he and Bast had been training for about an hour and had decided to take a break. The man takes a moment to look at his notifications.

Rellik looks at his companion who was lying near a torch, he tells Bast to go and receives a stink eye for his troubles.
-Fine, you win, we can rest here. He tells her while chuckling. But after that, we need to get ready.
After the break, they move back up to the surface and look around for an apex predator, Rellik wanting to get a better weapon. Looking around, he sees a path of broken leaves through the forest.
-Come on Bast, let''s get going.
Chapter 6: An old mans tale
They move from the dungeon, keeping watch for any beasts in the area but the forest is strangely quiet.
-I don''t like this, Rellik says while looking around, it''s unnatural.
Bast meows in agreement. A low howl resonates near them, another responds to the call. Rellik launches a comet in the forest, illuminating a distinct shape.
-It''s a wolf pack, prepare an area-of-effect spell if you have one and give them hell.
He identifies one of the wolves.
-So it has an affinity for wind, it might be fast but it''s full of hot air. Wait, the other looks different.
-They are all different elements! We''re in trouble. He starts to spam comets and ice spikes. I''m almost out of mana, looks like we''ll be sent to respawn.
-Not if I can stop it. A voice sounds from behind Rellik, he turns and identifies the speaker.
The stranger raises his hand and a stream of flames scorched all the wolves present, including one that was bigger than the others.
-You can get the loot from the boss if you want.
-Thanks mister. Rellik says as he puts his hand on the corpse.

-Well, of course I''ll take the sword. He says. It''s much better and I need a better weapon.
Rellik and Bast follow the man to a small cottage in the woods. Upon entering, they see that the inside only has a bed, a table and a chair.
-Pardon me for asking, but why do you live in isolation when there probably are more advanced planets for the elves?
-It''s okay, you see, while it is true that there are superior planets, solar systems even, the politics that come with being at my level is too much for my old body. Now let''s cut to the chase, I saved your life because I can''t believe that that the king wants to end humanity. To stop him, I need a spy that will provide me with inside information.

-Mister, I accept if you tell me your name.
-Good, now we need a disguise, tell me your name and age.
-My name is Rellik Huntre and I''m 38, but I have a question, ain''t I already disguised.
The man laughes.
-No, we elves age at human standard for the first ten years of our life then the ratio is 1:10. Don''t resist this might hurt a bit.
The hermit concentrates for a minute or two and ghostly blue lights start to glow on his body before going into Rellik, who blacks out almost instantly.

Congratulations to player RellikHuntre for being the first to participate in a ritual

-What did you do to me. Rellik screams, his voice sounding high pitch to his ears.
-Relax, it''s for the mission. Now, why don''t you use your points, I suggest maxing out companion communication.
After doing what the old man said Rellik got a message.
|
Congratulations on maxing out the companion communication skill
Bonus: Telephatic communication with your companion

Chapter 7: Invasion
- Wait, so I can talk telepathically to Bast. Rellik thinks, suprised.
-Looks like it, Rel. He hears a voice in his head.
-How did you know about this, old man?
-I was a beastmaster back in my time and I figured you''d have the same ability. The hermit shrugs. And my name isn''t old man, it''s Ricardo Flareleaf.
A booming noise sounds from the distance, in the direction of spawn. The noise is followed by other smaller booms.
-You have to go help your friends, Ricardo says. take this you''ll need it.
As he runs to the clearing with Bast. Rellik looks at the man''s gift.

He equips the item just as he reaches the valley, or, more appropriately, the battlefield. Rellik is once again reminded of how literal the expression "blood bath" can be. The ground is covered in the stuff as elves carelessly slaughter players, the only thing making the battle go on for this long is the fact that the players can respawn. If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it.
-Well, this is bad. Rellik gulps.
-You can say that again, Rel. Bast jumps on his shoulder. Let''s go.
They circle around the field looking for an opening when a mean looking elf with a black battleaxe that had red laser-like tips.
-Well, what do we have here? The thug says with a german accent. Where are your parents? he sneers.
-Going all in with the villain aspect, I see. Maybe you should get a scar, you know, to sell the look.
The brute swung and Rellik barely caught it with his scimitar. Using his free arm, he forms a comet and punchs the elf in the gut. The thug doubles over, groaning in pain. Rellik tries to cut the man''s head but the sword clangs agains metal.
-You really think I wouldn''t have armor, punk? The elf growls. Go back to your momma.
-Die, jerk. Rellik says through gritted teeth.
He raises his blade and stabs through the brute''s eye. Rellik looks around, searching for Bast.
-Where are you?
-In the ship, why?
He sighs and heads to the mothership, jumping and dodging blows from both sides. Upon entering the spacecraft, he looks around. The interior is futuristic but reminds him of nature and trees, the main pathway is oak brown while the cristaline light fixtures are an emerald green.
-Ok, I''m in the ship where are you exactly.
-I''m in the engine room, Rel. Did you know that elves use soul gems to power their ships? Think about it, actual souls.
-Calm down Bast. Meet me in navigation, we need to figure out how to make this ship go back to it''s home.
-Look what we have here, a young moon elf. What are you doing here, kid?
Rellik turns around, shocked to see someone on the ship. This new elf has tanned skin, golden hair and olive eyes.
-You''re going to have to explain yourself to the king.
Chapter 8: A tale of king and kid
The guard grabs Rellik by the collar and brings him with him to a room at the end of the hall. During the walk they start talking.
-Why do you attack these defenceless people? The boy asks. They don''t even have space travel so they can''t be much of a nuissance.
-I don''t know, it''s an order from the king, and you don''t want to argue with the king. The elf shakes his head.
-Why not? Rellik asks. If he''s a tyrant, why don''t we rebel?
-He''s paranoid, my ma tried to rebel too. Tears well up in the soldier''s eyes. She was a journalist, my ma was, she just wrote a less than flattering article about the king and for that, she got executed.
-But still, the humans have done nothing to the king, unless this planet is important for something.
The guard takes Rellik and pushes him against the wall and starts talking rapidly to him in a whisper.
-Listen kid, you don''t know what you''re talking about. He looks around fearfully. I heard that this planet has a crystallized mana core, a one metre sphere of that stuff can power a ship like this one.
A current of electricity sparks from the man''s badge. He drops on the ground, twitching for a moment before going still.

-Good, because I need to give it to his family, such a shame really, Suor was a good soldier but the barbaric humans killed him. Rellik looks at the figure of the king in front of him. That''s proof that they need to be exterminated.
-That''s a lie, you''re the one who killed him.
-I know, but who''s going to tell them. The king shakes his head. When the only person who knows this is a kid.
-Bast, where are you?
-I''m coming, don''t worry?
-Are you done Rellik?
-What are you talking about?
-Every ten levels of a skill you get an upgrade of your choice, Rellik, I happen to have one called illusion sight. They stare in the other''s eyes. It lets me see through illusions, but I have to say, the person who made yours is a proffesional, I have to focus on you to dispel the illusion.

Chapter 9: IRL interlude
The king vanishes with a pop, Rellik realizes he had been talking to a hologram. Just then, Bast walks down the corridor.
-Took you long enough.
-So, did I arrive in time to stop you from doing something stupid?
-No such luck, we now have a quest to kill the king.
They talk for a bit about the task ahead while heading to the entrance of the ship, once there, Rellik realizes that there is a problem.
-Bast, can you...
-On it. What, have you forgotten that I can read your thoughts?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Twenty minutes later, Bast , followed by HolyPaladin, arrives at the door to the spacecraft. When he sees Rellik, he steps back.
-Who are you? I thought that F.T.O. was an adult only game?
Rellik raises his hands.
-Don''t you recognize me, Holy? I thought you''d know that only one person would have a class.
Paladin opens his mouth in shock, recogniton flashing in his eyes.
-Rellik? What happened to you?
-Long story, but to keep it short, I met an hermit who turned me into this to spy, I got a quest to kill the king and I''m going to log out to do some research so I want you to take care of Bast if she doesn''t dissapear with me.
-S-sure, see you later.

Chapter 10: Forgotten god
Jace looks out his window, a crescent moon shines in the night sky, his clock reads 4:00.
-Whoops! I''m late.
He then runs to his pod and activates the device.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rellik opens his eyes and looks around, he is still in the ship hatch but by the progress that''s been done, he can see that he''s been gone for a while.
-You know, Rel, you didn''t need to assign me a babysitter. I''m part of you, so if you leave, I leave.
-Well, for one, I feel like you deserve to by supervised and it''s not like you told me that information before.
-You didn''t deserve it.
As he was about to retort, HolyPaladin comes running.
-Rellik, your cat dissa... oh, she''s here.
-She goes into some sort of souls space when I''m gone and she decided not to tell me.
-Anyway, we searched the ship during your break, you got to see this. Holy says while walking up the ramp.
Three minutes later, they arrive at a room which doesn''t seem to match the feel of the technologically advanced spacecraft. Statues line the walls and stand on a table in the center, it looks like someone tried to fit a whole garden of statues in a small space while at the same time having planned everything so that every figure is in full display.Enjoying the story? Show your support by reading it on the official site.
-It''s a church, every one of them represents a god or goddess that wants to get you into their church. Paladin looks around. The statues move around and the one you touch is the diety you choose, if you say no to the prompt, the staue dissapears.
-And I guess the different immortals grant different buffs. Rellik asks.
-Yeah, truth be told, I''m a bit jealous, I only had twelve choices.
-Which one did you choose?
-Luxitia, goddess of light, order and justice.
-I''m suprised that the goddess of justice is a goody two shoes and not a neutral goddess.
Holy whistles as some of the statues, Rellik guessed it was the "good" gods, blinked out of existence.
-You know just pissed the holy pantheon, I got a quest to kill you.
-Can we fight later, I need to get ready. He looks at the underarmored form of his opponent. You should probably do the same.
As HolyPaladin leaves, Rellik grabs a statue at random, not wanting to risk the wrath of more gods by playing them.
|
You have chosen: Corion
Father of Luna and husband of Gaia, Corion is a forgotten god of the neutral pantheon. He is the god of evolution, survival and monsters and his powers reflect as such. His church operated on the basis that adaptation and knowing yourself is the key to success, as such, most of his priests used to have a wide range of skills and abilities that where custom-crafted to their selves.
Do you want to follow the church of Corion: Y/N
|
Before Rellik had time to press the button, Bast interrupts him.
-Wait! I can read you enough to know you will press yes but... A chesire cat grin spreads across her face. You better not get a water god, I don''t know which one you chose but a water god is the bane of every self-respecting cat.
-You know, you had me worried there, right?
As a response, she jumps on his shoulder as he comfirms his choice.
Chapter 11: Meet Corion
The spacecraft disapears into a sea of white and shapes start to appear.
-Quiet Luna! We can talk about your rivalry with Artemis later but, right now I have a follower to talk to.
One of the shapes disapears while the other gets closer, revealing more details. Corion is a medium-sized man with prismatic eyes and white skin, he is dressed in what looks to be a hybrid beetween a lab coat and a suit. He smiled and Rellik could see that his teeth seemed to be made from some kind of crystal.
-Would you look at that, my first non-evil follower in the last couple of centuries. Tell you what, I''ll answer three questions you have that don''t compromise your progression.
Rellik barely thought before asking his first question.
-I seem to be progressing too fast. Is that normal?
Corion chuckles.
-Not at all, why do you think there where that many gods that where interested in you.
-Okay, can you explain why both Luna and Artemis have the same domain.
-Curious are you? You see, gods can have any domain they choose but their powers are weakened when multiple dieties have the same domain. Luna chose her domain alone while I was in my lab and Gaia was with another of her husbands.Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
Bast hissed.
-She can''t even be a loyal wife, looks like my ma was right. She''s a b...
-Language.
Corion shakes his head.
-Your familiar is quite feisty, but neverthless, she''s right, Gaia forced every god who''s domain graced the earth to marry her and she exterminated the ones who refused. Something about weeding out the unworthy.
-Wow. She''s got to be something. Last question, why is your name Corion?
-To understand that, you need to know that before getting their powers, gods have to create something, for example, Gaia created the earth, the centermost point of the universe. I created the sentient species known as dungeon cores, and since we get our names at the same time as our powers, Corion was what I was called.
-Wait, shouldn''t that mean that you''re the god of dungeons?
-Yes, that used to be my domain but it evolved and changed. Now, you probably want to know what I can do for you?
-That would be appreciated.
-Here take a look.
|
Corion is a god that loves change, as such, his bonuses reflect that. In addition to the unique evolutions for any familiar and the unlocking of the evolution menu, he provides a 10% reduction to level up cost.
P.S. Can you tell him that he''s lazy
|
-Two questions. First one is, what is the evolution menu?
-The evolution let''s you select traits to get every 25 levels. You said there was a second question?
-Yes, is there a system diety because it just called you lazy.
The nerve. See you soon, RellikHuntre, I have a god to hunt.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The temple-like room came back into focus.
-Well, that was interesting. Bast said, seemingly having gotten over her previous anger.
